At least someone can, hopefully, take care of the house and get her meals and such, although you never know with teens!
I plan on doing some meals for her that can be frozen when another adult cant be there - lasagna, casseroles, all that will need to be done is to be put in the oven. A couple other friends will be doing the same. We will get her through the worst of it but they have already told her no lifting at all - not even a gallon of milk for at least 12 weeks
Big gray cat on my lap now making it more difficult to type. He is such a gentleman....he always comes up and puts one paw on my leg to ask permission first.
and both of her kids have jobs so it will be a juggle for them but they will get through. Hopefully her ex will step up to the plate and give rides to daughter when needed

TO, I was having trouble with slow response and also browser crashing so I ran a free AVG scan and then it cleaned it up for me...no more problems. It is convenient because I use it for my security, too.

don't mean to insert myself into a conversation here (I popped in to clue till the flip), but I went through a similar scenario with my own teenage son and a very disrespectful young lady. I found, the more you protest, the more they want to go against you. For my boy, he eventually saw her true colors when she started gossiping about him behind his back. It fizzled out.

about 2 months, but he was grounded for half of that...
my son lied to me one night...told me he was going to spend the night at a buddy's house and was walking there...mother's instinct kicked in and I knew he was lying so I waited 10 minutes then headed to her house...caught him walking to the girl's house. He saw me and bolted...I chased him down and brought him home and grounded him...after that both the girl and her mother hated me...I even had threatening phone calls from both the girl and her mother.

that's when I realized it's best for me to let it be and hope he sees the light sooner rather than later. I did tell him I was going to get the police involved....this girl's mom was also a pot smoker and allowed her daughter to do it with her.

anyway...when my boy finally saw the light, I was never more happy. It helped too that shortly after that the girl and her mom moved out of town.
Yeah, pot is definitely an issue of contention. I don't actually care if adults want to indulge occasionally, but I don't think it's appropriate to be baking pot brownies with an 8 and a 5 year old... *headdesk*
I'm glad that my kids weren't that involved with a nasty person at such young ages!

ahhh...a couple years older than mine when I went through it. Probably all the more imperative you let him make these choices now and learn the lesson sooner rather than later. If you previously had a good relationship with him, he will come around.
i certainly hope so.
sometimes we have to let them make their mistakes young so they learn the lesson.
