Ive missed you!
96 words but not one bigger thana 6!
:D Have been offline a lot lately. I hope you are well?
Lots of ups and down, but finally settled in a place for a while and moving my email, so I hadnt sent you an update. Sorry.
ruby, I have a st7/28, S + canvas building + either
don't worry, moonwoof, I am still here so it is not too late ;) Are you on the up or on the down atm?
ty,sprite,that's my 1st 7
there's also a ca7+8 which is a camping water container and plural
thanks moonwoof :)
ty moonwoof
Atm, a little down, but recovering from surgery and getting better, happily
np!
I played yesterday, and my clueing is sooo out of practice lol
that is a good thing. *healing vibes to moonwoof to help a speedy recovery*
tys, buful lady!
once i get my email moved, tho, youre getting a whole story, dont be surprised
looks like the skill is coming back fast though, moonwoof :)
Oh I dunno... Yesterday's "geneses" word had me giggling for half an hour. Only clue I could think of was smeagol saying a plural of "genes"
lololllll nice one. I was tempted to say it was the bible part christians believe there's only one of, but plural.
yea. I dont recall who salvaged that clue into something similar, but I still couldnt stop giggling
I believe giggles are a great help when healing ;)
a bit yea. I had to ice after that anyway ^^
giggles can be hard on the body, but work wonders for the spirit.
at least today has the plural of my favorite word, lol
agreed. Its been nice to be back and see so many familiar people, even if they dont remember me
or only vaguely so
maybe some won't, but on the other hand, there are lots of nice new people to meet as well
also so. Its been very nice including all of that ^^
:D
yesterday morning, I found two more people in the phoenix area, so Im hoping tea or coffee can happen once it cools off
should work
you living on your own now?
no. I was for a while. But Ive worked a lot out with mike and that is all much better than it was.
tore
DOH
Very pardon me.
oh cool. Its not in there xD
I remember the cheating part. Great you worked through that... most people can't.
Definately wasnt easy.
But we hashed that out along with a bunch of other things that needed tending to.
But still stayed apart for a while, after that. And just stayed friends before we decided to try again.
great you made it work between you two.
Well, that's always an ongoing process. And he knows that now. So we're always working on it =)
How's the family doing and did you ever get moved?
in my experience, it's the relationships that are not worked on that break in the end
my family is doing great. But you may be mixing me up with someone else, since I haven't been in the process of moving for a long time, thank God.
Oh. maybe, but I thought you were looking at something, and hadnt decided. I'll make sure to reread my mails tho and make sure.
It *has* been far too long and my memory can be evil.
no matter. We're here to stay, I truly hope.
agreed. Should be *much* easier now that Im back to more settled.
my email addy is in my profile, it is different from back then.
Yup. I got that email last week or the week before. Just hadnt gotten my own new email, yet, to reply.
Im working on it tho! Slow but sure
ok :) No hurry.
yahoo is changing their privacy policies, which is abhorrent, so moving it is.
how irritating
yea. I cant abide the thought of them reading my (or anyone else's) email.
they have no right to do that. I'd move too.
It was an unhappy thing to come back to after being offline for a cpl of years.
it would piss me off big time, tbh
this will take sn4 and not afro? Gah!
yeah. That's enable for you.
lol
but yes. Compared to then, very much up. But still needs to be better. Cause I deserve it.
:D

Phew! Down to 25!

Clued at 6.16, Angel.
hello all.
what strange words...ty for helping me find the clue.
yw. Hi TO
hiya, TO
the pe 9 is a flowering plant similar to a foxglove.
I googled it earlier today!
have any of our friends from aus ever heard of siner clairy brown?
Not me!
ah, that is singer.
Still not, sorry!
name rings a bell here, but please don't ask me to elaborate.lol
Didn't even ring a bell for me!

WTG IBDAWGER!!!!
ty, rose :-)
help with me8/9 pls
me + **u*h, not north + emily b***te, classic authoress. then plural for me9
ty rose
hi all, and thanks, rose. Didn't you write the clever limerick ending in despotic? I told Nef and uusue to go back in the chat and be sure to see it
hmmm, not me roundbarn. maybe rbud? i'm just not that clever. wish i was!!!lol
well, now I wonder. I guess there's a way of seeing back chat--it was yesterday or the day before--a girl quite erotic, who people thought was neurotic--the two shorter lines, ending in her doctor being despotic. She earlier said the grid looked like a limerick, then came up with one. The first two -otics were in the grid. Anybody remember who?
It was rubyfoo - 6.48 on 25th June.
((HAZ)))) so good to see you :-) how are things
morning everyone
Hello, Mom, good morning.
Haz, have you a new dog?
Yes, there are pictures of him on my profile.
ah, my clever ruby...sounds just like her. thanx haz. and how are you, dear?
I saw them. He is gorgeous
I'm keeping well and enjoying lots of walks.
thanks, Haz--the names are similar in feel--they could go in a poem--grannyrose and rubyfoo decide to have a battle for grannyrose said rubyfoo had spoiled her nice new rattle--etc
so glad to hear that and so glad you popped on
He's very handsome and quite a character already.
lol, roundbarn....as if i would
how old is he?
Good morning, all.
morning trentsnana
He's a year old, we got him when he was 9 months.
Haz - you have an English Cocker? He is gorgeous!! I love, love, love English Cockers!!
I'm sure he is a lot of company to you
I've never had such a cuddly dog.
What is his name?
He's called Dempsey. That was the name given by the breeder - not sure if it's after the actor Patrick Dempsey or not.
I'm so happy for you
He's pretty easy on the eye as well.
It fits him!
what a darling name
I would love an English Cocker. One of these days....
HAZ!!! long time!! (((MOM))), Trentsnana!!
Hello, lb, nice to see you as well.
Hi Haz, dawg, trent, Mom
as much as i would LOVE to have another dog...will have to wait until i retire. himself and i are planning on doing some major travelling soon, including europe , canada and, of course north america. once the itchy feet syndrome is satisfied, i will finally allow myself to have another pet.
hi granny
*smiling at you, hun* hello bichon
Hi Bichon
Hello, bichon.
morning, Bichon, hi rbarn.
Good morning, all. Your english cocker is a handsome fellow, Haz. We actually have two police officers here with the last name "Dempsey". Yes, I'm surrounded by Irish cops. How cliche.
(((LBD))) good morning
hi Judi
Haz, I love Dempsey!! what a loving face!! I bet he's a great snuggler!
haz, what everyone is saying...cockers have a special place in my heart....but then again so do all dogs, i just love 'em.
He gets the most determined look on his face when he decides that nothing but my lap will do.
i'm with granny on that. love love love dogs. haven't really met one I didn't like. although hairless are kinda different.
oh, dear, haz...and is there enough lap for him?
I tend to sit at the table doing babble with my breakfast (using laptop). This head appears and begins the maneouvres.
sorry to scoot off so soon but lots to do today. (((Hugs))) to all of you.
Haz, so good to see you.
Bye, Mom, have a good day.
have a wonderful day, mom
well fortunately he wont grow to be 90 lbs
thanks Haz, you as well
(((MOM))) hagd
thanks granny, pleasant dreams to you
(((LBD))) thanks. You too!
*giggle* i can imagine, haz
Haz, same thing with my Marco. He thinks he can move the table top to get into my lap
It's quite funny, just the sheer force of will to get himself climbed up.
must go get ready for work. see you all tomorrow. hagd/n everyone
Bye, lb.
How old is Dempsey Haz?
He's nearly 13 months now.
Still some puppy left
you two remind me of my beautiful jonah. he was a groenendahl( black shepherd). he never did get the idea that he was a BIG( read huge) dog. until the day he died, he still used to try and crawl onto my lap.
Yes, especially when a tennis ball appears. That dog can move!
have a lovely day, ibd.
What breed is he Haz?
He's a blue roan cocker spaniel.
he's gorgeous, haz! :-)
He hadn't been well socialised as a puppy so we're having to play catch-up. He's making progress!
Hello, Une.
Beautiful Haz
howdy :-)
Was he a rescue or owner surrender
Hi Une
morning, bichon :-)
He was supposedly going to be used as a show dog but the breeder felt that he was too small. He had been left with his mother too long and wasn't as good with people as he should have been.
I see you fostered a dog. I've been doing that for a Bichon rescue group
However, we're going to training classes and doing a lot of visiting etc and he's improving. It just takes time.
I'm sure you'll turn him into a people dog real soon Haz
He'll be pouring the tea in no time.
It won't be for the want of trying! He may never be completely comfortable with strangers but if I can get him to be not wary, I'll be happy.
hi Judi
Hi, Bichon!
Yes, pouring the tea and putting napkins on people's laps.
And now I must go - late lunch calls. Bye to all!
have a great day, haz. love dempsey!!
ah, missed Haz... haven't seen her in ages
clues for the pe10 and the me and pe 9s please
don't have yet cool
I don't have those yet either.
Clue by Joso at 6.16am pe9, writing tool + plant stalk + not off & p10 plural
pe9/10. what you use to write + stalk of flower + not off, then plural for pe10
snap
good clues, ty!
ty granny and dc
never heard that word
me8/9. me + **u*h, not north + **u*d, not square. then plural for me9
Ty, granny and dc.
ty
hehehe, dc...great minds
the pe was one of my favorite garden flowers whose name I forgot. TY for those clues and the name
they have actually just opened and I couldn't remember.....
any hints on making mint tea? I just put a bunch of mint leaves into a teapot with boiling water =- anything else?
hi ruby--I was telling the chat abt your limerick but thought it was granny rose--haz corrected me--I mostly quoted it--then said the two names were similar in feel and put you into Lewis carroll--grannyrose and rubyfoo agreed to have a battle--
Ruby - you might want to mix in some actual tea with that.
aha
that's the way my daughter made mint tea. Sshe'd dry mint leaves, too, for later teas.
I have so much mint growing, two different types, that it's attempting to take over a corner of the garden
That was my thought too, Judi.
that's funny about the limerick; I thought nobody noticed
Mint is such an evasive plant.
drying it is a good idea, too
{{{{ruby}}}}}, my dearest friend. xoxoxox
{{{my rosie!}}}
and bzzn, how are you , hun?
Good. Thanks, granny.
it's planted in a dry, unwelcoming spot, so as long as I cut it occasionlly, it is doing a good job
mint will take over... grows like a weed ; )
I wish I could show you all my garden! The weird winter/spring made it much better than usual
I coomented on it, but maybe you'd left the chat--I told Nef and uusue--the two of you I know a little--about it and told them to look at back chat that day, for it
You might want to thin it out too, ruby.
looks like we are going break 600 patients through our 'little' hospital. management brought our new theatre 1 on line this week. it has been frantic.
mint is great in salads... and of course, there is always mojitos!
that is very nice, roundbarn, thank you
or tabouleh
mmmmm
how do you make mojitos?
now I can see my confusion--look at those hugs between you. No battle there, rattle or not. I have a saying by the tweedles in my bathroom--"let's fight until six and then have supper."
lime, mint, simple syrup, rum, club soda
who said that rose and I were fighting?
hmmm, mojitos.....anyone for a cruise? was just about the only thing i drank all around the pacific ocean. lol
My fav adult beverage!
http://tinyurl.com/nwsoj4e
Moscow mules are good too.
rose and I could never even argue!
*giggle* ruby, roundbarn made up a limerick about us. kinda cute.
which day, I'll try to find it
the limerick??? earlier today, ruby.
ty
it's right here--the thing abt chat is responses get so separated unless you're very quick. I attributed the limerick to grannyrose and has corrected me. I then said the names were similar in FEEL and quoted Lewis Caroll's Tweedles, who agreed to have a battle--so that is the back story. Then I saw all those multiple hugs--probably another reason I confused you two
missing 2 g's... any clue? have the ga4 with plural

(sorry for the slow response i was meditating unsuccessfully on the of clues
No it was a black bear spotted near Spring Valley. Didn't know if that was near you or not.
oh no, I didn't hear about it. . . spring valley is fairly close but on the other side of Wisc.
the red panda that escaped the zoo, they found again quickly i heard.
yes later that day. . .black bears are native to this area. . .
soooo... 9's? 10?

ok, i'll get the list then

hello teach and mixi and onyx
hello onyx and ruby
hey ruby
Wants to use the words "old" and "boring" and "Ruru" in a sentence.
hello all, had ex. class this am. the instructor was trying to kill us but I made it :)
my cat is curled up under my screen in front of the key board. t
Exercise class instructors are sadists.
and I am still out of chocolate but I bought more gin
gin sounds better than chocolate
the class is usually not this way. the tues instructor also changed the class
spent the morning driving grandson to Pittsburgh airport and just got back home
I could do a limerick, but ruru only rhymes with tutu and froufroum so it wouldnd't be nice
I need to stop buying dark choc covered caramels from trader joes. they are addicting
oh, give it a try, ruby
poo and you also rhyme, ruby
which would probably make the limerick worse
*thanks Ruby for sparing me*
There was an old fellow named ruru, Who watched the ballet in a tutu, when he asked me to dance, I said call me nance, But better yet call me rubyfoo
doesn't scan well and sorry ruru
that is cute, ruby
Cleanest limerick I've ever heard.
*takes it back*
guru is a great rhyme for Ruru
{{ruru}}
indeed, Molls
And let us not converse about what rhymes with Rururocks
there's your dirty limmericks
sosmwebody else write a limerick, for a change
I can't. I have Bob Hope in my head singing "Thanks For The Long Ones"
47 left, bbl
41 left and real good night
I'll go too. I'm in the way here.
in the way?
love that qu6.33 that rhymes with a latin dance.. a newbie for me and I will look it up
hi ruru and everyone.. haven't been chatting as I keep popping in and out
so the newbie appears to be an advisory committee, interesting
thnx aloy for the QU 6
Good Afternoon, Everyone. How are you all this fine summer day?
been a rainy, grey day so far
yw, wvt and hi to Nef.. all is well here, mosquitoes galore after our rains
so I'm staying in doing a bunch of things I've put off doing
I haven't been outside today yet (Heck! I'm still in my pj's! First time in a long time I'm not dressed by now!)
I just killed a couple of mosquitos in here though
oh well, as the spirit moves you, Nef.. no rush. Doggone skeetos.. have a bunch of bites bc I love working outdoors and don't like putting the bug juice on
<--looking for some insect repellant.
hi hego!
Hi All
the birds must be having a feast tho
anyone have me 8?
yes, lemme think
nm
you got it?
We've had so much rain here and it's been such a cold year that now that it's hot, the bugs are out full force. Of course, I'm a mosquito magnet and I get bit even with bug repellent on.
yes, ty Aloy
wtg hego
ty ty
oh no, Nef.. you must be mighty sweet (-:
and warm. they are heat seekers.
LOL! That's not what humans say though! ;-)
maybe it's the heat....
but the bugs know!
ooh, fw!
yay!!!! Aloy
am going to remember that qu6 word for Scrabble.. Babble has really helped me learn some new words
I wonder about that sometimes. "They" (whoever "They" are!) say don't wear bright colors, don't eat bananas use bug repellent, etc. and DH seems to break every one of those rules I faithfully follow and he doesn't get bit up.
yes, ty for that one.
YAY, Aloyisius!!! WTG!!!
have been playing Scrabble with the same friend for over 20 some years.. we know each other well.. so if we try to bluff, we both burst out laughing. She doesn't Babble, so this is the edge I have, since we have basically the same skill level
I'll bet she knows etui by now.
oh yes, that one doesn't stump her.. but some of the babblets.. lol, her eyes will get wide and she will say, "where did you learn THAT one?" ... by now she knows the answe4r
answer, i.e.
am playing her tomorrow and so hope I get the chance to use qu6, fun fun
Haven't you told her about Babble yet? Are you keeping this as a secret weapon?
do i hear an evil laugh?
Actually, Nef... I tried to get her to join Babble.. she tried it.. didn't like the big grids..
yes, hego.. evil ..
She can just do the smaller ones.
bwah hahaha!
she plays on ISC all the time, I think that is her passion (Internet Scrabble Club)
LOL! :-D And I bet you didn't mention the run of short grids lately?
Her handle is Borealis and I am Aurora, lol
cute!
cute
snap nef!
LOL! hego
well, I hafta go.. hubby calling.. needs some help with something.. fun chatting, happy babbling, hope to see you next time! ciao for now
I have loved the run of short grids. I am on the verge of achieving my first 1030 for the month ever!
Bye Aloy. HAGD!
And probably the only one ever.
Bye Aloy!
1030??? WHat do you mean?
perfect score for the last 30 days.
see rankings.
oh! Congratulations, hego!
lol Kind of silly really.
Keeps me off the streets
You know; we all have to have a goal. It's fun to reach it!
last month it was to reach one million points.
Shows how much time I've blown doing this.
I really had to back away from Babble for a while because it got to be almost an addiction for me.
Oh, it's addictive okay.
I was working and neglecting my DH and home for Babble: work, Babble, work. Not good. But if it isn't interfering with the rest of your life, then it's okay
I try not to let it.
On the other hand; it is fun! :-D
:D

Yes, it is.

Or they have intellect, but look like Rick Moranis in Ghostbusters.
Intellect is not the point.
Nora Ephron: "In my sexual fantasies nobody ever loves me for my mind."
Aaarrrgh. I've just had a thought. What if all 3 of you guys are the one person??? A face like Kap, wearing Stid shoes & smelling of Obsession?
That would be frightening on so many levels. Although I think Yetta would go for those shoes.

*Passes Bich the Skin So Soft*
hi bichon. that's nasty! i hate mosquitoes!!i don't know why they were put on this planet?
I don't think that stuff works on me Molly.
does that actually help Molly?my husband was told to get some of that as up in Scotland there are loads of midges and he says it helps for them, but i forgot to take it to Mexico and got some bad bites
I didn't notice skeeters in Britain Lili
we get midges
sounds bad, think those are what we call gnats
is soodle here?
Actually, Repel Lemon Eucalyptus is the best mosquito repellent.
Soodle wanders in and out Ruby. She's kind of ADD that way.
I'll have to try that Molly. We only have DEET
i think gnats are another type of biting fly aswell bichon.midgets are similar to mosquitos, apparently in North America midges are called no-see-ums
Yup. We get midges too. Frequently referred to as midgets, throwing Soodles imagination into overdrive,. "Jaze, I was et alive by the midgets last night'..,,
oohh midgets!

hmm.. i do not like bats but only cause they give me the heebie jeebies..

*Wants details on Phans date*
i think they are cute looking.in one of our zoos here you can walk through their enclosure, it's dark with a little light so you can see them but they swoop past you and touch you as they go by and i can't remember which one it is

go, consonant, ** Thee I Sing, Gershwin song
Thanks so much, Annie. FW thanks for all the help. See y'all at the flip.

:-D
Hello ruru!
babble blind . . . ro6 please?
there is one that is a plural of the one above it...
Plural une
was missing the singular -- tx -- FW :-)
back at the flip *poof*
Wow that was quick
congrats!
WooT WooT une!!
two all consonant words tonight!
Hi again. How are you all doing this evening?
(reading back in the chog, I see Jilly is bragging about her 'shrooms again!)
((nef))
MMMMMM....best pizza ever!
I'll bet! (I'm just jealous as all out because of them.) Are they normally that small for you though?
Ours are usually bigger
There are two kinds, these ones are smaller, don't get much bigger than your palm. Then there are grayer ones later on.
the ones in my pic were the smaller ones that I had found
okay. I was wondering when I saw them. Ours come out "when the oak leaves are the size of a squirrels ears" and most are larger
The ones I remember as a child were bigger than a hand. But that was over in the Gallatin...
oops...phone....brb
I'm feeling a special kind of dumb tonight; trying to download my pictures in my Samsung phone into my Apple computer and I can't figure out how to do it. Any ideas anyone?
sorry...don't have an apple...
thanks anyway, penquis. I love my Macs; it's the android stuff that confuses me
don't have an android phone either...
:-) you should feel lucky then, penquis. I sometimes feel I'm being dragged into this new age and I'm kicking, screaming, and protesting the whole way.
Android and Mac do not play nicely together...
<----nerd
I was told by my kids that I had to get a better phone so that we could text more to communicate better. They don't ever check their voice mails.
Jilly, does that mean you can help me do this?
<----Mac illiterate
Or does it mean you just know that they don't play well together?
okay.
Yup.... competing techmologies. Most folks that have Macs have iPhones
I've now messaged my son for help. Reading through stuff I should be able to up load the pictures to the iCloud and they will automatically download to the mac; but I can't find the "talk to each other" button
It's also proprietary on the part of Macintosh. Mac computers seem to only do well with iPhone images. Windows computers work fine with any images.
Go to Settings/Wireless & Network/USB Utilities Tap on the icon for connection. THEN only connect the USB cable. Tap on the icon and follow on screen instruction. The phone memory will act like a thumbdrive (mass storage) device, and like any thumbdrive, you can browse, move, copy, cut, paste... files and folders... etc.
thanks IndiaJan; I'll try it now.
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
<--------------------!FW!!
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!

YAY, Jilly!!!! WTG!!!

me 8/45 use latin word for "middle" and finish with T + mcdonald's spokes clown name, first three letters
not bad, cathy -- house is making me nervous... financing has to be finished quickly and in the meantime the contractors seem to take a long time at many stages.
and then plural, MLF for the 9
pe9 = writing instrument + plant part + not off
awww....financing sucks but insurance isn't helping with that?
the other 9 is a type of plant, was clued earlier something like you write with a pe*, flowers have a **** (holds the leaves), and there are scary ***sters in the dark.
Then plural for the 10
LOL or what tor said
ty torg
the mortgage holder for the original house took all the money that was supposed to go toward reconstruction, so we needed to get a brand-new construction loan.

stid, I so feel for you guys...a very tough time, but once it's all done...you will get back to normal (whatever normal is)
thanks cathy
the pe9/10....a member of the figwort plant family? okey dokey then.
stid, I pray the rest goes stress-free for you.
I just want to get the plan approved by the bank before the lock-in period expires!
oh well...
it will all work out stid...have faith. I know you're doing as much as you can. don't you just hate the red tape of it all though?
yep. red tape = many stern mama looks
sorry, eating hot soup now. :-) very late supper
well...stern mama look gets action, right? make sure you use it as needed! ;-)
