It's a "Cooling Chilly Pad" and is 17 X 33 inches and you get it wet with warm water and wrap it around your head or neck and it cools you down really nice
(you wring it out so it isn't dripping wet) It's the only reason DH can tolerate the heat right now. (heat makes MS symptoms much worse and can trigger a relapse)
ah, so modern improvement on the old cjool wash cloth/towel around the neck...have you tried it?
yes. I didn't think Warm water would work so I got it cold. I leterally had blue lips and goose bumps!

he's now (supposedly) chronic progressive; but his progressing is has been slow and he still has relapses; so he can take the shots but doesn't always fit in either category
It cost about $15.00 (US) and I think it's worth every penny. I haven't used it sine the time I nearly froze with it; but it works much better for him than his cooling vest (which is very drippy) and much faster than those bandanas with the water pebbles in them
well, at least the meds are still available to him. with any luck he will remain in "neverland" for a while, better than an absolute diagnosis/prognosis carved in stone...

TK, DH was diagnosed back in 1988; his mother died of MS complications when she was 52; and his great uncle may have had some form of it too. I watch him like a hawk all of the time hoping to prevent symptoms from causing relapses.

I have an old white T Mobile flip phone (no camera either) which DH just asked me what I was going to do with it (I now have a Samsung Galaxy 2 or something; too many bells and whistles for me to figure out what they're all for)
Oh, and girlie helped with the whole saving up money for that by calling the clinic (he works for me, go go gadget nepotism) almost a dozen times in less than 2 hours, trying to trick the receptionist into letting her talk to him (on a day he wasn't working, no less).

oh! I bought myself two more pair of jeans this evening for my trip... and I am STILL fitting into a slightly smaller size than I did this time last year. Which is really good because the size I am now is really pretty workable for my hips. (a little less heavy and I would be in great "shape")
