Hello Everyone
Hey there, puglet! How are you?
Iam fine Peach and yourself?
I'm OK. Although I recieved some really bad news from my sister-in-law in Corpus Christi, TX. Her oldest daughter has had cancer 3 times and was given a clean bill of health 3 months ago.....she had another scan and the cancer is in 4 places.....her liver, her clavicle and I can't remember the other two places.....just asking everyone to please pray for her. Her name is Susie and she lives in Corpus Christi, TX. I'm not doing well with it at all....but I must remember that God has healed her before and can do it again.
Peach Iam so sorry and I will send prayers out for you and her.
Thank you, dear puglet.
cooee from down under
nbt/nbs/nbg and goodnight all...*poof
Hey there, Rose. Hope all is well with you.
Hi Ya Rose--hows it going
awww, peach, such awful news re susie.how old is she?
oh, sorry about that bad news, peach -- here's hopong for a good turnout.
Hi and bye, rose and pug and peach and anyone else out there...*repoof
hey ya pugs, thanx for your email. i did RSVP.
Thanks, jilli.
night, dear jilli. sweet dreams, hun
bye Jilli
yw Rose--I dont usually mess with those things but Ruby sent it to me and I really like it
* grin * yeah, i liked it too. was lovely that you thought of me.
did you work today
I thought it held many truths
nope, well not out of the house anyway.
are you feeling better? The day before you were kind of in the dumps
yeah, i'm good. sleep deprivation does that to you. had a good night last night.
how about you? with your woes? any improvement yet?
thats good. I missed everyone yesterday due to going with my girlfriend and her grandaughter and family and my sister, We all went to a drive-in. Was out until early morn. Had not been to one for years. We had a good time. And all is well with me
hi all, how is everybody tonight
morning Joso--all good here and you?
all good here too
Hi there, joso.
hey peach, how ya doing, grid keeping you busy
helloo joso
g'day mate
I did well for a while but now it is slow going.
There have been several finishers, though, joso.
* giggle * joso, who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
ya, tougher than it first looks, even with s's not may plurals, more sepetate words than first glance implies
Arf arf arroooooo
Just because I lean toward werewolf when I don't trim my beard is no reason to call me a dog Rose, hrumph
roflol.....
please tell you trim the moustache regularly, at least.
oh thats ez, just gnaw off the long hairs
himself has forgotten to do so, i nearly collapsed, laughing this AM when he turned to me just after a mouthful of chai latte.
LOLOLOL.....but they get caught in between my teeth....
Oh my, that would truly be love rose
and then they get stuck under my plate....spit, spit, gag
some full moon I may complete the conversion, are balding werewolfes still fierce?
we are talking about beard and moustache hairs, right?
Sooo naughty ;)
i mean not ear hairs....
mabe for you, it's other hairs I have that problem with rose
* cheeky grin *
Stop, you're making me gag, lol
I sudder to think of your mental image of me
aha, joso, gotcha....you just have to stop licking the carpet.
the carpet would complain
ROFL9OL, chrissie
ooohhhh, what i could say right now...but not going there...
Did you only come on to be insulted today joso? :D
everyone needs to serve a function in life
ahhhh, all those lovely relaxing chuckles....
poor DH is sitting in emergency waiting room with mother mac. silly old woman didn't tell me about her swollen, hot leg until late this afternoon. my bet is she has cellulitis.
Always starts my day with a smile if I can fit a quick babble in, love the chog
then my job is done, chrissie
It does help all of us, doesn't it. Love these people!
peach, did you tel me how old susie is?
She is 56, Rose. Just a wonderful person, never hurt a soul.
poor, love. well onto my prayer list she goes.
Praying for her and all your family peach. Sounds like she's endured so much already
Rose, the first was in her breast, second in her back and third in her leg (bone). They've put her back on Chemo immediately.
I am so lucky to have you all to talk with. It hit me really hard this time.....as I'm not able to travel anymore.
peach, as long as she knows you are with her in mind, and prayers.
I wish you and yours luck peach, rough road to travel
Thanks joso. I really appreciate you all so much.
brb
good morning all
hey sprite
Hugs! Hi Sprite
am so sorry to read about susie :( Will hold you and her and yours in my prayers.
hi joso :)
hiya pug *hug*
How are things with you, Sprite?
not good... just back from diabetes check. Sugar still way too high, feet highest score for loss of feeling, am going to have to check my blood myself from now on every day.
but I did something good for myself... made an appt with my therapist for some me time.
thats good, Sprite. You.ve had so much stress lately thats not good on you and it just goes hand in hand with all other things being out of whack
I'm back.
lme time souds right, salads, oatmeal and metime
yes, the diabetes nurse was very understanding. She said clearly that it was impossible to come to terms with having diabetes and watching one's diet unless there was peace at home.
Thanks so much, sprite.
wb peach. So sorry to hear about susie. *hugs*
my troubles are minor compared to what you go through, peach. Wish we could do more.
I'm sorry to hear about your diabetes.....I have it too. So difficult to keep it where it should be because everything we do affects it.
yeah, it sucks, to put it bluntly. Stress makes it go haywire too. Ah well, I'll learn to deal with it. Am giving myself until Wednesday when we have the first counselling session with Tim. After that, I will need to take better care of my diet and exercise.
did lose 1 kg though.
god morning everybody. I can always rely on seeing some friends here in the morning. I need the contact!!!
I truly believe that the things added to our food and the chemicals added to make them grow causes alot of the problems with diabetics
yea sprite, that's amazing given your distractions
hi ruby *hug*
Well, that's a start, sprite. Just remember to take good care of yourself. I know it isn't easy right now.;...just try your best.
Diabètes i certainly nasty and hard to control; many friends with it and it ran in my faily.
Hugs Ruby
thanks joso :) Am kinda proud of it. Did a lot of riding the hometrainer.
I'm putting Sprite on a South Beach Diet!
thanks peach, good advice. We'll do the best we can, won't we :) A warm *hug* for you.
(good typing didn't however) sorry for the typos
ruby, if I lived with you, I'd have no problem eating regularly!
hey ruby
I need to head to my pillows....it's almost 5:00AM and I'm going to have to try to unwind so sleep will come. Thank all of you wonderful people.
do they put atavan in Susie's chemo? It kept me from ever getting sick but they don't do it unless you ask
whats going on with you Ruby
sending calming vibes your way, peach. I hope you will sleep well.
night Peach
hello joso, stop licking the carpet. Rufie does that and then gags afterwards
husband forgot that today was Monday....scarier and scarier
where is our ro4? She is in this grid 3 times!
i am going to buy a ticket to oz and shoot someone
thats really hard to deal with Ruby
aw ruby, I had to check with Rob myself yesterday... but I understand that with your husband it is part of his dementing.
oh dear.... joso, who, and why?
back....huh? joso? not moi, surely.
if you come to France on the way, you might use an extra bullet here!
carpet rumors, who hard is it to get a gun in oz?
hello sprite and ruby
rose, this is your grid! ro4, ro5 and an8!
{{rosie}}
*how
LOLOLOL...joso.....lolol
I dont know Joso, but Ide say follow the yellow brick road
and what's your problem, mate?
not getting the joke, I think
if you say you want to hunt bunnies is it easier
um, no, sprite. you aren't in the gutter like joso and i am...
yes sprite, a jest, can't afford a ticket
usually am... guess I am in the gutter with a language or cultural stupidness :)
rose, did you see you are in the grid 3 times today?
ruby must have read up on the old chat
*sends joso virtual money for ticket* bring it on, big boy!!!
yes, just for a minute when I came in to see who was here
the robot guy is a phantom, but the robot ending is working.
i know sprite, too weird. is that 2 or 3 grids where i have featured?
at least 3, and today you have an8 as well.
I think its been 3
*wriggles with delight* i'm a star!!
and another word for the Jewish hoslidays, rosh, but it's only a phantom (tref and kasher were in two ddays ago)
super ro4!
and ho** and to**
is dDr God Jewish, then it should be Dr G*d lol
able to leap tall buildings....crawl under joso's.....and still have time to hugs everyone before breakfast.
lol ruby! I like that in Jewish, that realisation that God can't be named.
um, ruby? to4 and it's plural are there.
ro4, I knew you were a superstar long before the grids caught up.
should the exclamation be renamed OM*?
lol, dear friend.
and with an h
Ho my god?
need to mange....not acute accent on this laptop....to you heathens, that's eat
a la francais
tu dois manger, Mme. Ro**
was i close, ruby?
bon appetite, ro4 my sweet, make sure you eat with your hands, not your feet
good morning. got up to log into my worksite, got a sub job for today, so I'd best get back to bed for 2nhours. I couldn't resist looking at the grid. nbt, nbs, shana tova to rubyfoo, hi to granny, hugs to sprite. [poof!]
hi and bye melon, have a great day to work.
{{melonhead}} and to you!
diot is a local Fr sausage
this is a yummy grid, but no time now
see you kids later xxox
bye Ruby
bye ruby, *hugs*
did I sasy hello to miss pugs?
if not, you did in your heart
{{sorite}} would you like for me to send you the South Beach Diet? Burt lost 40 lbs with it and still basically lives by it
no sweetie, thanks for offering. But I am going to a clinic for people with eating disorders and will have to go with what they want me to do.
1119 and *woof*
bye ruby!
another 90 something day for us again :(
sounds very hot, pug :(
it is for me--not a hot weather fan
and I got to take sister to the doctors too
me neither. We are having our first coldish day in ages and I am enjoying it. People are complaining now about the cold... but I am happy. And it is not cold. Just not hot and humid anymore.
ah, that is doubly tough in the he4. How was she?
while in town though we will take advantage of store and go do our walking in the air con.
its just her usual check up
of course, you still have to go. Sounds like a plan, pug.
I do that alot. Plus I think its good for her too. To walk in a different place
need to find out how much my insurance is going to pay... expensive stuff, for diabetes.
I think so too, pug. Keeps the mind active and helps against depression.
it is. But we are lucky because her medicaid pays for most of it
otherwise we couldnt do it
I have to find a pedicurist for my feet. No feeling left on bottom of feet and only a little bit on top.
is your sugar causing that Sprite
no, though it makes it hard to check if the sugar isn't making it worse. But I was diagnosed with polyneuropathy long before the sugar started.
that can be pretty scarey with the sugar problem too. You will have to be very careful you dont get sores on them
ah, looks like my insurance will pay for the pedicurist.
have you got feeling lost in your hands too
thats good news
it is starting in my ha4s too, yes
indirectly, high sugar makes blood flow like syrup, poor blood flow, low oxy delivery, the, feet are the first to suffer
yes, that is why they routinely check here when someone has diabetes. But my foot problem has another origine.
would massages help the flow of blood to your limbs,Sprite
probably, but exercise is best, I think. The loss of feeling is nerve related with me, not blood related.
argh... but I have to pay for the control stuff myself... because I am not insuline dependent.
if you had a tub with several jet sprays I bet that would help alot too
or whirlpool even
Is your head the only area you have without health issues? lol
I know its not funny but just trying to perk you up Sprite. please dont be hurt by my pun
nope... have ptsd, so my head is a mess too. I sometimes tell my husband to put me out with the garbage and order a new one :)
no one would want that for you! You are too special just the way you are
that's what he says as well... but I really wish I could offer him a healthier wife. Ah well, we will see. Might be a turnaround po5, the whole eating disorder treatment and stuff.
and sweetie, no, am not hurt by your pun. Love it. If we can't laugh about our own sh*t, things get really bad. I love a bit of black humour :)
You will be as God wants you
guess He had a really bad hairday when he thought me up ;)
the things you learn from what you go through makes you more aware of others sorrows so that you can reach out to them from the heart and soul
we each have our own crosses to carry through out life
yeah, that is true. Am not complaining. I have the feeling I will have another tough year with therapy and stuff, and then I will be able to find myself work as some kind of therapist.
after all this with your son, I bet you could help other parents with such problems
I will find my niche in time, I hope. First I have to get through this whole mess. Son, money, diabetes, eating disorder, ptsd. We will see how much of it we can clear up and how much we will have to learn to live with. One step at a time.
yep, you cant do it all at once or all in a day
ape
now now Nanette, no calling names! :D
I pray for you and Ruby that He give you guys the strength you need each day to deal with what needs to be delt with. And Rose, wont tell what I pray for her-lol
*grin*
thanks for your prayers, pug, they really help. Isn't it amazing that one can actually feel it?
yeah it is!
Rose and Joso must be off taking care of hair issues-lol
it is like a warm cape around my shoulders. That's the best way I can describe it.
licking carpets and shooting eachother. Didn't understand a thing about it, lol.
you are better off-lol about hair in the teeth was a bit of it
lol! We have a dutch saying, 'haar op de tanden hebben' which translates literally as 'having hair on the teeth' and it means you know how to stand up for yourself, be assertive.
well I dont think that was anywhere close to what they were talking about--lol
no... I think I can imagine where they were going :)
giggles---you know our Rose---she just had to take it towards the gutter and Joso just kept feeding the logs to the fire
I love that. Too bad I missed it.
a bit of innuendo never hurt anyone
couldn't agree more.
sorry babble's daily thing
lol... dont' say sorry... it is not your fault, silly.
ah ha we woke the sleeping wolf!
saturday night a group of us went to the drive-in to see a couple of movies. I had not been for several years. We had a really good time.
drive-in movies? Didn't know they still existed! Sounds like a lot of fun, pug. Good for you!
oh, lovely, a pt6. Only in babble!
they have been holding special events to raise money to save it and this week end they let everyone in for free to show their gratitute
how awesome, pug. Nothing like that in our country, I am afraid.
its only about ten miles from me and Iam hoping that it gets saved.Theres not many left anymore
never been to one. I know them from Grease, and a Stephen King movie too, I think.
wish you could have the experence of it.It sure brings back memories from youth and teen years.
My Aunt was a big Steven Kings fan. She had every book he ever wrote
yeah. My favorite time, the 50s. Used to be a rock 'n' roll gal.
I like Dean Koontz better, but some books by King are really marvelous.
I love the old rock and roll songs
same here.
I dont think Ive read any of Koontz stuff and just a few of Kings
Koontz writes scary stuff too, but he combines it with a more spiritual view.
Have you read "the Host"? By the same gal that wrote the twilight series
no, is it good?
yes, or I thought it was
I liked the twilight series but I thought the host was a more mature writing
didn't like the twilight series much, too superficial.
I thought it was more intented for teens and the movie was nothing like the books
yes I believe so. Didn't see the movie.
but the Host was different--I think you would like it
I found The Host as epub, will give it a go :)
I like vampire movies and always have
same for me. My favorites are the Blades ones.
well, and Love at first bite... that is a romantic favorite of mine.
I like it even better when the vampire is good looking and more the hero then the villin--lol
s
I like horror movies with a story, not so fond of the ones that continually have thing jumping off the screen at you.
oh... do you know the books by Sherrilyn Kenyon, the DarkHunter series?
no I dont Sprite
joso, indeed. Am not good at watching horror movies, they trigger the ptsd too much. Some are fun though.
I do too Joso
pug, it is fluff, but good fluff. Delightful sexy vampire romans with lots of humor. Do you have a reader?
movies like Friday the 13 and such I care little for
no Sprite
me neither. Too cheap... lots of scares but not much story. I love Wolf.
but I wrote that down to invest in
ok, let me know once you have one and I will make sure you get the DarkHunters. Try and pick a reader that supports epub format.
supernatural is a current favorite of mine, its great how they incorperate so much old world lore, and the villians have more character than just evil
can I get them in real book form like off of amazon
oh, that series I like too. Very entertaining.
yes sure, pug. Shall I email you a list of the books in reading order? They are not expensive, just simple pocket books.
I kind of miss the old movies like the invisiable man and sch
if its not too much trouble Sprite
of course not, I'll be happy to share it with you.
yes, I like them alot to, now they just seem to jurk the cammera around and splatter gore, instead of having a story
thank you!
that they do Joso and too much I think
the other was a good one, about the two brothers
well I killed that conversation, back to the grid
and the fly was another oldie that was good and the birds too
lollll joso, you never kill the chat.
oh, the Birds! Hitchcock always works for me.
no--had to get coffee
ok pug, I even found a full list with the ISBN and everything. If you don't want to buy an anthology, let me know and I will send you the short stories as epub and you can read them on the puter... or print them out maybe.
okay Sprite and thank you
the lack of explanation for the birds annoyed me no end, got all wrapped up in it but expected a reason for the bird behavior.
email on the way, pug
its been so long since Ive seen it --I dont remember
yeah, same for me, joso. But brilliantly composed, the whole movie.
okay Sprite
the birds is one of those that just sticks with you
and when I think of dracula I can help but picture Vincent Price
Wolf, with Jack Nicholson. Lovely movie.
yep! I just seen on tv that he is losing his memories
aw poor man :(
have either of you seen the new brad pit zombi movie, world war Z
no, sorry
I love that movie--as good as it gets
no Joso
very good, highly recomended
I agree, pug. Oh, and the Witches of Eastwick! One of the very few movies that is actually better than the book.
is it new Joso
yes thats a good one too
ok joso, will remember. Wouldn't think of going to a movie with that name by myself, don't like war movies.
have you seen the vincent price movie where he is the last human in a plague of vamps
I have and its a old one
oh... yes! Oh... can't remember the name... that is a good one.
yep, b&w even, from the old matheson book, legend
The last man on earth
remade as omega man and a will smith movie, both very different
I dont think Ive ever seen Price dressed in anything but black
will smith is fun. I simply love him in Independence Day.
and the men in black movies
I like him too and D. Washington too is a good actor too
oh yes. Also very smart movies, those. I love the end shots of the first movie. With the universe that ends up being a marble in the hands of aliens.
yes he is, hard to remember him as the kid on st. elsewhere
oh, Danzel... in.... what is the name... Crimson Tide? On the submarine?
I dont know that Ive seen that one but I love remember the titans
but hes got alot of movies thats really good
, yes, very good, not normally a fan of sport flick but that was very good
I was always a John Travolta fan and the one where he plays as a robber on that train was a really different role for him but I liked it
with gene hackman as well. Very good and intense movie. Hackman is the captain, Danzel is his second. It is about the order to fire nuclear bombs, followed by radio silence. Obedience and discipline against common sense and not wanting to fire nukers for nothing.
never liked Travolta. Too full of himself, I always thought. But he can act.
yes, i remember it, also a very good flic
now now Sprite! that strut of his is something else--lol
I love the story of quentin tarantino introducing himself to Travolta.
I remember him back as the school boy in welcome back
pug, my alltime favorite actor, including strut and smile, is Bruce Willis
nah--John in grease makes you melt! lol
not me, grin.
I'll stick with the oldies, cary grant
fireflies! A lovely grid today.
I wore two eight tracks from the movie out! lol
w2g congrats
you like his strut?
for the oldies, my vote goes to Sean Connery.
joso perfected his strut
giggles
and no-one mentions Jeff Goldblum? Hello everyone
Howdy Lyn
bond was who I wanted to be when I grew up, fell short somehow
oh, yes, I like Jeff too. Hi lyn :) xxx
hi lynxxx
you didn't fall short at all, joso. You are better than bond. Joso. James Joso.
I/m sure it was just the accent you lacked Joso
shaken and somewhat disturbed, grin
well Joso you can be our Bond cant he ladies?
Hi everyone - can someone please put me out of my misery p I am missing a 6 letter word from the top right E - help, please
well I guess I had better get strutting and walk Terra. Since my dear son refuses to lift a finger in the house, all those tasks are for me now.
hiya Dianne, EX + a temper ****rum.
yeah I need to get off and get ready to go to town
have fun Sprite - all good exercise
I blame it on the lack of proper villains for me to take down, I was ready, where was blogfelt, goldfinger
have a good one everyone and hugs a bunch to all
bye pug, have a good one. I hope your sister checks out ok.
TY for that one too Sprite
bye all, *hugs* and all the best.
bye Pugs
yvw :)
thank you so much - kept forgetting to look at that lower corner.
bye E1! sorry Bond is all your Lyn
Good day to all.
hi Scrabbs
Hi folksies
How was Monday for you?
hello Bichon
Hi Bichon and pups.
Woofies to you
My Australian friend was at my birthday party. She is from Woomba-Woomba.
pretty good - worked out hard at the gym and got a fair bit done in the afternoon. Hope you have had a relaxing weekend Scrabbs?
Great weekend except for about 4 hrs of a migraine yesterday.
Happy b'day Scrabs
TY. I am grateful to celebrate another b-day.
It's going to be 88 degrees on Wed. Summer is definitely back
Woomba Woomba - never heard of it. Is it really Toowoomba in Queensland? or Wogga Wogga in New South Wales?
Yes, for us too. It's 49 now. Brrr.
oops that should be Wagga Wagga
I wore sweats this morning for the fluffy walk
Maybe I have the wrong name. It is in Queensland.
I bet it is Toowoomba - perhaps she is teasing you because it is pronounced 2Woomba
but happy birthday from me too - pity a migraine spoilt the weekend for you
I asked her how Woomba Woomba was, during her visit, and she laughed, so I guess I said the wrong name.
gm, everyone! happy belated birthday scrabs
She and her American husband visit from Feb-May and will move there when he retires. She has been here for 25 yrs or so and is a sweetheart.
Hi dawg. Thanks.
How lovely - and you would have a place to visit down here
hi dawg
One of our friends, and her husband, traveled to Australia with my Aussie friend in Feb. And then they toured NZ. NZ sounds like a paradise for hiking and kayaking!
hi Scrabs, Hi Lynxxx
You betcha Scrabs. If only we could go back
NZ is just one glorious postcard
Haven't been to the North Island, but the South is better for outdoorsy stuff
Do we have any NZ Babblers?
did you see the Lord of the Rings movies Scrabbs? all shot in NZ
There are a couple though I don't think they play anymore
Yes, that's when I learned about the geography of NZ. I never knew it was so beautiful!
GroovyKiwi and Loredana are New Zealanders.
It's like you're in a different world. So remote.
We went to see the first LOTR movie in Queenstown. Some folks in the audience were commenting that they knew where that placce was
Loredana is from West Australia I thought? Christine from California has a sister in NZ who used to come on occasionally
hello
hi MLFAN
Loredana lives at the northern tip of the northern island. I talked with her before my friend visited.
Hi MLFAN
oh - she must have moved
HI Scrab
And, if I recall, she is a Maori.
I must leave for work now. I'll return if I have time.
Just checked her profile, said she was born in NZ but was now in Perth - I guess she has gone back home since she last updated her profile. Lovely lady
bye Scrabbs

back for a few, 119 this AM but pretty sleep y now
the piano keys has me confused

Anyone else watching Breaking Bad last night?!?!?

WoooT ! Congrats Anita!
congrats anita
Yay Anita!
Congrats Anita!!
Ok hego! All I will say is the silence is deafening!
ty
Ooooo, now I'm intriqued.
It has nothing to do with the plot. Just a production note.
BB is right up there with the wire, the shield, sopranos, etc
I hate everybody in that show, but can't stop watching.
I agree Jeff
Is that a good thing or a bad thing, Jeff?
the acting, writing, directing, cinematography, color palette, etc is incredible
Saul is my absolute FAVORITE!
it's a good thing car
agree again
I agree Jeff! Brilliant!
love Saul
i wore my Better Call Saul shirt on Saturday :)
And then Jesse, of course. Although, Todd is coming along quite nicely!
Sweeeeet!
I want one!!
I will have to get one for my DH for his birthday!
Can you buy them on line?
The dialogue that comes out of Saul's mouth just makes me roll. He used to be a writer on SNL and other comedy shows and I can totally see why.
AMC.com I believe Hego.
I love how the actress who plays Marie needed a comedy to do after BB so she is playing Michael J Fox's wife in his new show (which looks to be hysterical)
ty Car
I think Marie's character is such a caricature that in many ways it is a comedy role for her. The purple!
All of the characters have evolved (devolved) as the show has gone on
halfway, NBT and NBS - time for breakfast break - don't have any pie
Yup. Hank is still a pain in the ass though.
He stayed consistent.
Oh bummer WV! Enjoy anyway!
I really have to get my work done now. I wish you all a wonderful day!!! {{hugs}} all around.
Oh! And the eye word is CH 7/40!
no pie here either. forced to eat melon
if it helps, mine was a gift, wv
i really like the theme song for the show "Suits" because it says, "get another piece of pie for your wife" - i always sing it loud

very late start for me today, time to o dry my hair and do some work
Sounds like a good idea Trif
i have no tolerance for, or ability to watch, horror movies. ugh!
I'm not big on horror movies. Psychological thrillers are ok, but give me a good romantic comedy any day
I like romcoms too...
I like good ones - so many lately seem to be toss offs.
oops its late - goodnight everyone
good night lynxxx
Bye lynxxx
I figure if I'm going to spend a small fortune at the movie theater, I want to enjoy myself. Not get depressed or scared.
night lynxxx
I enjoy the screwball comedies of the 1930s.

Hagd Trif!
Agreed!
ANd Cary Grant, well, that goes without saying. The man was a genius
What was that one...he was a male war bride?
I Was a Male War Bride. That was great.
That's it...
Bringing up Baby
Another classic!
I wish I could get my kids to watch these.
I know what you mean...
I can't get friends to watch with me.
I will have to come visit and we will have a movie marathon. I'll bring the popcorn!
Sounds good! I just got a deal on a 55" TV...
Awesome!
It was good chatting with you! I've got to go pretty up for errands and lunch with a friend. HAGD!

Happy New Year, mkg
hi ruby
ty ruby
and Happy New Year to mkg!
aloy... i knew a guy in cleveland heights who made dandelion wine... great stuff !!
I make BlackBerry liquor
sammys, that was where I lived when I first moved to Ohio, on Berkshire Ave.. and yes, there are tons of dandelions in Ohio, so I'm getting the recipe!
It is more of a "digestif" than a wine as it's very strong but sweet
can be bitter at first, but adding sugar takes care of that
in a punch.. ooh la la
i live very close to berkshire-lol .. we were neighbors
stuck on sh6.21, last one.. any clue for that?
I macerate the berries in sugar and then add the special fruit liquor alcohol ( like vodka)
small world!
yup
nm, it was a pl and I was blind
did a peri and it worked, (-:

hurshy, would it be possible for you to just give me the ingredients for the zucchini casserole please?
sh 6/21, the one which a pl of the sh 5, pls
ah, yes please hurshy, hubby planted far more than we can use - have made a couple dozen zuc. loaves - added Christmas cake type fruit and hubby loves it
sh 6/20 sh + vowel + competed in a foot race
ty Luv
thanks Luv, also needed that one
ty for the sh clue
flos - a host of ways to use zucchini
http://www.foodandwine.com/slideshows/\nzucchini
thanks kj, checking it out
sure it was 2 c cooked brown rice, 3 zucchini, an onion, 28 oz plum tomatoes, 5-6 basil leaves, 2 garlic cloves, salt & pepper to taste, 4 oz shredded jack cheese (i used pizza cheese) 3 Tbsp parm, 1/4 c breadcrumbs, i added a red bell pepper, and a bit of sugar and oregano to the sauce.
that is to the best of my memory. it said 2 med zucchini which is what i did but next time i will use 3 it was not quite enough.
ty, hursy. Sounds really good.
thanks hurshy, will try it
they can vary so much in size that it sems you'd want a weight or cup measure
well, and i got one that was "med" in my opinion and one that was verging on "med-large" so i would go for more
if you HAVE lots cause of a garden, then you don't have to worry, they are there, you can just keep cutting as you see fit! :)
yep
i was thinking about adding broccoli next time, too.

hello all
ty hurshy
i thought carrots would also work, add another color
man, I love them!
ty hursh
i read that recipe, did yo udice or slice the zukes?
Hello Temple Owl
eggplant would work
they were sliced into rounds
ah yes, love eggplant
i have some recipes. i los tthe one for chocolate bumdt cake though. one i love is a casserole using the zucchini as the crust, sliced into rounds
eggplant, tomato, zucchini - classic
hurshy, what do you do with the ingredients. sounds like something I'd like to make
it was layered, rice, sauce, zucchini, cheese & breadcrumbs, sauce, onions, zucchini, sauce, which was totally weird to me, but it came out great that way, so...
perhaps hursh would consider putting it into her profile for a while
i was like, why is the topping in the middle? but it worked.

I started last night, after guests left but didn't stay long, was quite tired
i have 103 left and it's slow going...

i can only stand so much torture.. ;o)
gorgeous day here, must get out for a walk - later
are you in western canada?
yes, small island off the coast
ah...i am on the opposite coast...in Maine
between mainland and Vancouver Island
I was originally from Ontario - don't miss the winters
I usually go back to visit (Toronto area) in May and October - Miss the beautiful reds of the Maples
bet you don't...i went to Seattle in Feb....amazed me how warm it was
western maples turn yellow - beautiful, but don't compare
yes, we have very nice falls here, too....
I understand Maine is quite beautiful, unfortunately have not travelled through that area
and next to no syrup from western maples - not worth the effort
yes, especially the coast in summer and inland in the fall....winter is nice, too, if you like snow....fortunately where i live, the midcoast, winters are milder
Flo, if I knew you were out there I would have visted you when I went to see Bugsaw last year.
Maine is a big producer of maple syrup...
hi hego...
oh Hego, wish you had, was unable to join the group
Hi Penq
I had no idea.
Lovely area
I play bridge from a gentleman from NJ - have never met him, except in bridge, but have played together for several years

hi everybody, back trying to finish, I just saw "The Butler"
hi annie, how was it?
Hi Annie, how was it?
Hi Annie - what did you think of the movie?
How was it Annie?
I thought it was excellent. I am not a crier but this one was ha4 to hold back the tears.
tell u, tellus!
who is in that movie, Annie
oh, sounds like one I won't hubby won't care about
Forrest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey...excellent
Yea, it is very good!
ah yes, I must see it - if I have to go alone, I will
flosey, it is very historical
I will wait to sit.
I had heard that the Artist was a good movie and I did not like it at all
I didnt see the Artist either
I am looking forward to seeing "The Butler" when it comes out on DVD. I don't go to the movies much anymore.
I have not been to the movies in 6 yrs
Hello babbleworld!
howdy,jilly
hi jilly
Going to the movies is not what it used to be. I can't handle all the talking and cell phone use.
During this movie, it was very quiet.
oh my, that would be very annoying Molly, have not seen that happen yet
or heard
I haven't seen it happen either - neither here or in Dallas
that is most rude
I havent come across talking or cell phone use once the movie starts ever.
help with an8 pls
i have taken my beloved to the movies twice in 5 years and both times it was terrible.last time we three women behind us who figured the moves was a perfect place to duscuss the minutae of their day,all throughout the movie.the time before that we had peope on either side of us taking calls or doing other things on cell phones
then alert the management... they'll escort them out
If that happens, you should call it to the attention of the manager. There is no reason for that to continue.
i was not a happy camper
nm
the second time,i told the manager and he offered 2 free passes to us
a cure peri
He also should have remedied the situation
oops,nm,a phantom
seat are terribly uncomfortable now as well.i find that i am happy now watching a movie at home with my beloved and us in our comfy chairs with snacks that do not cost a weeks wages lol
and is it meor are the theatres getting louder?? i swear my ear drums were going to pop, they had the volume so high
I agree, I would rather watch a movie at home. Plus the "managers" around here are barely old enough to shave.
I agree Crossy, I find them far too loud
I also agree about the loudness. My ears were ringing for an hour after we saw "Avatar".
an 8 against + Italian River + to * **mean someone and make them feel bad

i think i needed one afterwards!
don't have the oc7
oc7...Scottish exclamation + last four of why you need Preparation H
oc7 starts like the yellow-brown-greenish color and ends in robot ending
thanks, bichon
Haven't been to the movies in years mainly because of the sound. It's either too quiet when people are talking or way too loud with sound affects and the music.
sheesh....didn't even see the robot ending!
ops, I do have the oc 7
I would like to see "The Butler"
And we'll definitely see the second part of "The Hobbit"
bichon, I saw The Butler today. It was very very good
saw Despicable Me 2 in the theater... was hilarious to watch the boys in front of us completely mesmerized
nbt/nbs....big grid....let's find the biggies first!

anyone know the exact day on when the u.s congress votes on syria?
i was under the impression it was to be today
I have had MSNBC on, I don't think it's today as Obama is speaking to the US on Tuesday evening. Will let you know if I hear
I think they just got back from vacation, Crossy and will debate first before voting.
From what I read the Senate is planning an initial procedural vote on Wednesday.
Who knows what the House will do?
The House is Republican so the vote will probably be no..
Vote is being postponed at this point - they will discuss a Russian plan first
Per CNN just now

Russian policy: One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic. ~Joseph Stalin
true quote indeed
so,if a million bodies pile up in syria, then it is ok to go in?
Of course killing people because he killed people...that makes sense?
stalin was something else.he had a "not one single step back policy" his officers used to shoot soldiers who tried to retreat.in stalins army otit took braver man to retreat thn to advance
Putin has stated if the US strikes Syria, Russia will come to the assistance of Syria ... so, the risk of a million bodies becomes more plausible
oh,i did not know puntin said that..interesting
well,that does change things
It is not farfectched that Iran will enter the picture
hi again, makes things very very scary
Iran already is there.
mmm
turning into a hornets nest
That might be an understatement
The issues are very complex. Historical note: On June 28, 1914, a young Serbian nationalist named Gavrilo Princip killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Taking place against a backdrop of escalating tensions in the Balkans, the assassination set off a chain of events that would lead to the start of World War I barely one month later.
What goes around comes around eh o-o
so russia is saying to the states"leave syria alone or we start ww3"
so,the us vote coming up is moot

There aren't many!
What kind of evals did you do?
Wait a minute, I think I know you. I worked in sped there for y years
well over the years there were several...last few years i stayed in the one across from Bishop's store....the school paid them to house me
"7" years
I do know you!
i did educational and psychological evals for kids referred to special education
RB here....who are you??
D. Banahan here.
"It's a small world..."

funny thing is that Jackman is probably 3 hours or more from where I live now
i think it's amazing when people find each other on the internet
never worked in Kingfield...
did work in Greenville...
I am still in sped, only now in Kingfield, living at our condo on the mountain and my son is at Mt. Abram, my husband is still in Jackman.
it is weird...
does your husband have the same last name as you?
Jackman is in the middle of nowhere, but it is amazing how many people have been there!
I agree, welki. It is amazing.
Yes, he does.
*packing up the car and heading for sugarloaf*
I have bumped into people from babble at other word game websites as well.
i don't remember the name....what years did you work there?
I was there from 2000 'til 2007
yes, i know nanachi (sp?) from Letter Lynxx...
well i must have known you since i worked there until June 2002...i would probably recognize you...i am terrible with names....
That's okay!
and i only spent about 12 days a year during those two years we intersected...
do you know if Yvette is still working in Jackmaan?
Those first two years I was primarily in the elementary wing
Yes, Yvette is still working. I work with her daughter Nathalie at Northern Outdoors in The Forks during the summer.
Sorry that we just hijacked the blog!
ah...i remember Natalie quite well....does she teach too?
Yes, she teaches high school math. She is quiet good at it I might add.
nice!

Hi pen and Jilly.

I have 232 left; doubt if I will finishe either tonight. But that's okay; it's been a busy day (even though nothing was planned (I did lots of housework. Going on a retreat tomorrow for 3 days; can't leave with a dirty house!)
LOL...well at least you are going on the retreat!
I figure I really need a little spiritual break from life right now! :-D
I need that too, not on horizon for now, but on to do list!
Congratulations penquis on your fireworks! Hooray for you
Hello minv, nice to see you!!
hi Min!

how longdid it take you to do, pen?
Hello Jillyjill! Nice to see you too. I gave up on grid at 6:30
I may stick with it a bit longer; got the biggies and just filling in the pl
well i worked some this morning....then started back up tonight....so several hours with small breaks
I find it interesting that what I enter in the chog is there immediately but when I enter a Word; there is a 2-3 second lag....
I started in the middle of the night; then forgot it til now
I probably should finish tonight, won't be on Babble until after next Monday...Nef would understand...I am recertifying my ACLS in on week.
Oooh, Jilly! Good Luck! (I let mine lapse when I couldn't work in the hospital anymore; both my ACLS and my CCRN expired in 2008. :-(
I know, I DREAD it...just don't use it (thankfully) enough to stay comfortable with it.

It sounds terrible to say that someone would feel comfortable with ACLS, Jilly. Even though I worked in CV-ICU and felt that I knew it; I never felt comfortable with it -- or codes. Too much Adrenalin on board; but even that is a good thing in a code...

last word and stuck...last di6...anyone able to help?
And the LAST thing anyone would ever call me is an Adrenalin Junkie, Jilly! :-) I had a crazy co-worker from India who would start yelling and dithering when her patients crumped; she always would say: "I always get so nervous when my pt. codes; I just start yelling for help and bossing everybody around! And then there's you! If you pts. code; the only thing we hear is this quiet little 'I need some help here.'" I was very quiet and concise when my pts. crimped; but I ALWAYS got the help I needed....

Peach, sorry to hear about your sister - MD Anderson is a top-notch facility, If anyone can help her they should be able to.
Incidentally, I know a fair amount about proton radiation therapy - had a masters student who did his thesis on it - feel free to drop me a line if you have questions. You can email me at uusuzanne at yahoo.

sending prayers and healing thoughts to your sister (and you) peach.....
Oh, Nef....last night my sister-in-law called me from Corpus Christi, TX and told me about her eldest daughter (has had cancer three times in the past) had a scan three months ago and was clear....then last week they found 4 more places in her body, liver, clavicle and I can't remember where the other two are. It really gave me a wollop! I've asked for prayers for her (and me too). She is a wonderful lady , only 56 years old. Her voice seemed strong tonight when I spoke with her.
I won't try to finish this one....have 22 left and don't have the energy....perhaps the next one.....will watch TV for a while. Happy Babbling.
so, your niece? Wow, 56 is so young! Yes, I will pray and "send" to her (and you are always on "my list', but will continue to keep you near the top). I'm going to be gone for 3 days this week on a spiritual retreat, and I will ask the women to pray for you both.
spiritual retreat .... would think if the goal is to become more spiritual, it would be a spiritual advance.
It's a retreat from your everyday life, o-o. :-) I think right now it would be very helpful
