flip
Hi ursh.
And jillibus.
hello neil and ursh
You've been busy, neil!
Clues are up
ty Lickety
Huh jilli?
The usual busy, yeah.
Thanks Lickety.
hi everyone
Hi Onpaki. Haven't see you before?
hello onpaki
Singapore huh? Been there.
Didn't sleep much. :P
I only have about an hour during lunch time to play. :)
it is 1.10pm now.
re8
nice time, onpaki -- it's 10:12 pm here -- sleepytime.
I feel like such a douche.. I keep seeing enema in the grid
I have Babbled from work on my lunch. Don't often though unless it's a smaller grid.
Oh god. UGHHH. :P
It's... ru.
Hi. :)
:D
hi neil
How are you, besides punny as usual?
was that too fleet a comment for you
*groans and rolls eyes*
hi sodden ruru
:D
i'm fine
you?
hi jilli
I'm fine -- went for a swim today
wow.. it wasn't cold?
Good to hear ru.
weather really hot -- water not too cold -- refreshing, maybe about 68F
An outdoor swim jilli?
good evening all!
what's with the rocky raccoon hat
Wow.
That's like... here.
What rocky raccoon hat, ru?
I was wearing a bear hat. But refresh?
were you skinny dipping jilli ?
That photo isn't even in here anymore.
It's me the weekend before last, in Seattle.
certainly not, ru. Beach full of similar old folks.
Nothing skinny about me, boohoo.
Who wants to be skinny? Slim maybe, but skinny, no.
Unless you're a high fashion model
Well yeah.
fashion models are too skinny
I really don't find that attractive though.
Exactly, ru.
It's hard to see 6 ft high 90 lb skeletons wearing clothes that little short fat people are expected to like.
Hey. My truck is in this grid.
The type, not the make or model.
a foku?
isn't that the new Korean truck
Uhhh, no. :P It's also something you might do in a bar if you're single.
Or something you might score... y'know.
pi6,42
well, I thought that was 2 words or at least hyphenated, but thx anyway
m pi 6/42 days are over :D
my
seems to me you did one in SF last April ;)
Oh my god. I'm gonna give you an awesome clue for another big word, haha.
Ok for the tr7,28 word: http://tinyurl.com/3dttplv
The act of mine is probably it. lol
ah, thanks for the pi6 word, I was wondering how that corner p was going to get used
You're welcome Sue... and hi. :)
You will laugh if you get the last clue I just gave.
I posted that link on FB, lol, but don't get the tr7/28 (yet)
I got the word (assuming there is only one tr7/28) before looking at the picture
hi sus
hi neil and jill!
What link jilli?
the link you just gave, neil '
Oh ok, Sue. Well do you think the photo applies? Haha. I figure it's probably... that.
But hey. That was in 2007... Bush administration. Can you honestly blame me?
Or Jilli... Jill. Sorry.
probably not, I suspect it falls under free speech
Ahh. So I wasn't as brave as I thought huh? lol
Except... at that time, I was an intern there. That's either brave or stupid! Haha. Day off, of course.
Grad student intern for 3 months.
still free speech
sounds like a fun 3 months
Uhhh, sometimes? Mostly, no.
hi all!! NBT/NBS
hi grannie!
Hi dizgrannnie.
k clue?
hi diz and kje
ko4/8, zen saying
ko4,8 x 2. 2 different consonant endings.
ty
Still here ru?
Somewhere?/
If you are, something funny to show you.
Oh, he left.
nbs/nbt/nbg and over halfway so goodnight all...won't be here tomorrow...*poof
helloo??? neil, you still here???
morning Rose
hey pugs. how's the weather, hun?
its in the 50's--:)
nice....
How are you today?
a little tender after being doctor-handled yesterday. been awake since 3am and it's now 4:30pm
and I will say congrats for I know you must have your fws or close to it
DH has gotten a chest cold, he thinks he's dying...lol....you know...man 'flu.
and what was the outcome of the visit
* grin * thanx pugs
pugs, i did put it all in the email, hun
yeah men dont handle stuff like that too well---I dont know what it is but the cold brings out the little boy in them-lol
oh I got that--I thought you had to go again
nope, that was all about yesterday's visit. *sigh*. now the waiting game starts in earnest...
do you have to work tomorrow
tomorrow is the weekend....and i also have monday off...
Now you can REALLY play doctor with DH-lol
thats good Rose
LOLOL.....yeah * wicked grin* might start with an enema, that will cure the cough.
I havent never heard coughing coming from that area---learn something new everyday-lol
Ive been messed up on my days all week--yesterday I called a friend thinking it was friday and it was thursday
morning ladies
morning Anita
pugs, after one of my high, hot and a hell of a lot enemas, he won't be game to cough.
lol! How evil!!!
hi anita....still love your icon, hun. reminds me of a blouse i had in the 70's.
slowly does it typing this morning! got to engage the brain 1st
come to think of it, i was still wearing it in the 80's and 90's....hmmm
lol
well at least you got one to engage-lol
and I bet you still got it too-lol
well, i don't part with my clothes very easily...just ask DH
mmm doesnt feel like it right at this moment
right cuppa time, have fun ladies. later
sameway here! my house slippers should of went in the trash a year ago! Hubby bought me new ones and he ended up wearing them out and I still got mine!lol
bye anita
oh, dear, pugs...that means either you have big feet, or hubby has small feet....lol
we wear about the same size
amazing, pugs....if i tried to wear hubby's shoes, i would fall flat on my face every time.
I wear a 9 in women and he wears a 81/2 in mens
you got tiny feet then
i wear a men's 6, australian, ladies 10, australian
there is a compare chart somewhere on-line
my sister, she wears a 31/2 or 4--lol
jeeez, di she have her feet bound
here in the US a mans size 9 is like a womens 8
nope, shes just tiny
Hi Joso
g'day joso, nice of you to pop in.
hi pug, rose, nice to be here
checked the chart, it says australian ladies sizes are the same as american ladies, .....so, no, pugs....i have huge feet
and a different chart says an oz 10 equals an american 12...it's offical...i give up
I wouldnt say huge---my foot size has gotten bigger as Ive aged
i think our feet spread as we get older. we aren't so vain, and don't try to cram our feet into tight shoes.
Ive always have had feet trouble. For one reason I have no arches
Can't say I have much interest in feet except to be glad rose has a couple of days off hers. Going back to the grid before this drifts into shoes, be back later
oohhh, did i tell you my supervisor at work is trying to talk me out of coming back post-op, as a nurse....she wants me to go into quality control...boring!!!!!
coward, joso....how do you feel about handbags, purses....
I would say! and less pay too, right?
lol--yeah and petticoats and lace
is this a result of finding all those thing that need to be done rose
well, maybe not....if i can negotiate a contract for the right sort of money....lol...enter the ex DIL, medical lawyer..
probably, joso....
probably, joso....
acckkk!!! how did that happen?
what do you want?
petticoats and lace is entirely different than shoes and handbag, will hang in for petticoats and lace
joso, nursing is me, and i am nursing....not sure how i would cope with a non-nursing position....they would have to make the remuneration VERY attractive.
would it be less stress and a better job as you are aging?
pugs, truthfully? once the knee is all fixed, they can pay me out. i am so ready for retirement. i have been nursing for 43 years
I dont blame you Rose
maybe, pugs. the government changed the age of retirement to 67. i don't think i can do that.
You may be doing more good ensuring quality nursing is delivered. But I understand, used to work retail and was always promoted quickly, but always enjoyed helping people find what they want/need more than nursing paperwork at a desk
i think i m ight write our new prime minister a letter. i have contributed for 43 years to the economy, surely the government can support me for 20 or so years.
Rose, what did your BH retire from doing
you are doing your too well rose, people living too long, gov can't afford retirement at 65 anymore, all your own fault, lol
*job should be in there
he was forcibly retired. he was a communications officer for one of our major universities. that means he did everything, from names on doors, to high-speed photography of car-crash testing. he is an extremely intelligent man...not sure what he sees in me. he has 2 degrees, and a string of diplomas.
oh wow! superman and superwomen---perfect match as I see it! lol
good to feel lucky to have your mate, but I have no doubt he feels lucky too.
awww, shucks, you two...stop it!! before we have to wide the doorway to let my enormous head through...LOLOL
do you have a mate, Joso
no, separated, divorce soon
ahh thats too bad
yea, something of a bummer
how long were you guys together
sorry to hear that, joso. never nice to hear of a relationship breakdown. any time you want to talk, i'm just 1/2 a world away. i promise you will get nothing but tea and sympathy. xoxox
10 years
was going to ask questions, but maybe you don't want to talk right now. the offer stands...email me..
sorry about that Joso--yeah , same here if you ever need to dump
If I start to talk I am sure i will sound very bitter, rather distract myself and move on.
but its not good to hold it in either
i was fortunate....when my first marriage broke down, i was devastated. the end of all my dreams for my life...but 11 years later, DH made his play...i have never been happier, except perhaps for the kidlings.
joso, you have the right to feel bitter....and sometimes talking to an abstract person can help. the need to vent is a basic need.
Iam very, very happy for you Rose
Rose and Sprite are great consoltents and they are FREE!! lol
maybe it will rise up and bite me in the arse sometime, but am more comfortable keeping my own council for now. It's not that I don't trust you all, but that I feel like crap going over it all. I am sure this is why losing shadow was so hard, my last companion, in the flesh anyway. but great to have friends like you two
i respect that, joso. and of course losing shadow had a great impact...
thats fine Joso...but friends are here whenever you need us
hi everyone, exhausted but can't sleep, so I'll try to find a few more words
hello flosey, my dear. sorry you can't sleep
Hi Flosey sorry you cant sleep but glad for you company
ty ladies
I think I'll work the grid for a while too, bbl
I might just pass out on the keyboard
okay Joso==later
*giggle* hands flosey a house brick, just a tap behind the left ear should do the trick, dear.
hahaha
send her a sip or two of your nightcap Rose
I'd like a cup of coffee but that could work in the opposite direction
you got something on your mind that you cant sleep, Flosey?
no, it's just a busy time - hubby is very busy, our Fall Fair is this weekend, he's one of the directors, so is upat th fair grounds quite a bit (with the others, of course) putting up the tents, organizing the barns for animals, etc
I am not involved anymore, they have to start so early in the morning , I worked on the information tent for a few years and loved it
sounds like a lot of work. Are you in on it too?
flosey, how about fresh coffee, not instant...or perhaps a hot chocolate?
that did it, our coffee machine makes 1 cup at a time, grinds the beans and pushes very hot water through the little pucks
brb
the nurse suggested it, must be a wise move
hot chocolate sounds delightful with marshmellows and whip cream---mmm
ahhhhhhhhhh, just right
Iam finding this grid a bit hard or its just not my day for the brain to work too well
me too pugs
but mainly, is my brain that's half asleep
do you have 4-H in canada, Flosey? And are they part of your fair?
yes we do have 4H and they have been a part of the fair but not sure they have been lately
hubby looks after the children's tent - they bring in stuff they've grown and their paintings, etc to be judged - they really get into growing stuff
dont they show their animals or is that at another fair
I always liked 4H
he also has a children's wading pool, filled with straw and tosses pennies (that he has soaked to regain their original shine, the kids rummage through thehay and get so excited when they find one, or more - he also bought the larger chocolate coins that are wrapped in gold foil - they're a big hit
sounds lovely, flosey....what a man, he is!! your hubby!!
it sounds like alot of fun!
yup rose, he's a great guy - we've been married for 52 years and going strong
but I know it takes alot of work putting something like that on. We use to put on horseshows -so I know
that is so nice,Flosey
no hope of himself and i catching up to you guys.....we would have to be over 100...lol
my bridge partner is quite a horsewoman, she rides every day, putting a horse show is lots of work
not plaqnning on living that long. *giggle* just want to live long enough to be a nuisance to my kids.
Rose, you never know--you might live to be the oldest woman alive!
lol rose, it isn't the length of the marriage, it's what we put into it
flosey, were you guys highschool sweethearts
no, he was educated in BC, I lived in Ontario, he took first year U, then went to Toronto Radio College, ended up teaching and working in the office, he had to put himself through U, so necessary to take a fw years out, ended up working with the brother of sister I worked with - short story is, that's how we met and were immediately attracted to each other
It amazes me how God puts the right people in our path through out our lives.
I agree pugs, it's amazing
aww, lovely flosey. DH and i have known each other for over 30 years, through our church. when his marriage broke down, he was so alone, but i was still one-eyed about first hubby.
then when ex and i separated and divorced, he used to ring me up during school holidays for ideas on what to do with the kids. we used to combine forces...and ended up having great times with all 6 children.
interesting rose, what a lovely way to get to know each other better
sounds like the Brady Bunch--lol
yes, lol
you had 3 boys Rose and he had 3 girls?
it wasn't until aout 12 years ago when i became critically ill, that he realised he was going to lose me, before we had any sort of a life together. that's when he realised he loved me.
i had three boys, he had one boy, and two girls, whom i unashamedly spoilt rotten. lol
ah, the thought of losing you must have been devastating to him
must of been, flosey. because he was very quick to propose after that...
we have 2 sons (still in Ontario) and 2 daughters in Vancouver
well thank God you didnt have to face all that alone!
flosey, you are a braver man than i am, gungadin. after 3 boys, i wasn't game to try a 4th time for a girl.
you have grandkids too Flosey
2 only pugs, one 15 in Toronto, one 4 in North Vancouver
Iwas with both girls when they went to hospital - meant a lot to me to be there
how lovely that you had that close affinity with your girls, flosey.
Do you get to see them very much
meant so much to me
both boys were out this summer, different times, one came with wife and son, and the girls came over while they were here - there's a pic in facebook of the gang (minus the oldest son who was out earlier)
btw, I get a lot of requests to be briends with names I don't know at all, I reject them, because there isn't any profile to see who they might be
'friends
wish they'd put where they found me
same with me
and you, pugs? is graydn the only young one in your life? did you ever have children?
I'd hate to reject any babblers
or even bridge players, I'd expect them to say how they got my name
I had a little girl in my early years that died at the age of 4 months due to what they call crib death. Never got preg. again. Her name was Cammy Marie
ah pugs, that must have been devastating, so sorry to hear
there seemed to be quite a few crib deaths back a while, don't hear about any lately
I was very close to my neices until they took up with boys and went down the wrong paths--Gradyn is my great nephew
*gentle hugs* to my own very dear pugs.
that happen back in 76
thanks guys
pretty na4, pugs..family na4?
so many years ago pugs, I didn't realize you were this old
first name I just liked and the middle name was from my best friend growing up
how lovely
did i ever tell you how my DIL, the one with the 3 grandkiddies, decides what to na4 them?
I think crib death is still around but they just dont call it that anymore
don't think so rose
no, you havent Rose
she na5 them for something significant in her life. like claudia's middle na4 is ava...the brand of her wedding dress.
i guess i should be thankful she isn't passionate about men's shirts, like pelaco or van huesen, or shoes like grosby or clarks...
I like ava though
Clark is a nice name, but without the S
so do i, pugs, it's a lovely old na4.....and flosey, my point exactly....lol
yes, forget the association, Ava is a lovely name
in the small town that I grew up in, this family named all their kids to rhymn--Jan,Nan,Ann,Dan and Diane
i could have had a grandkiddy called tonka, or holden, or ford, or volkswagen....
lol
quite a giggle but I really must get back to bed,
how about pontiac...
goodnight ladies see you tomorrow night
hope you can sleep this time--hugs and good night Flosey
Chrysler
night, dear flosey, hope you can settle and have a sweet sleep.
tytyty
agghhhh, flosey, wash your mouth out...
I did know a guy named Chevy
where is our Sprite?
surname, chase...right?
nope--lol
hmmm, yeah haven't seen her...hope she is alright.
how did you name your kids,Rose
yeah me too
after biblical people. i had daniel thomas, simon mark and joshua timothy...years later it was pointed out to me i had chosen three great leaders of the jewish people.
I like those names!
simon was nearly simeon....but first hubby was very adamant that it was to be simon.
does your boys have a relationship with their dad
and my josh could never be anything but josh....
darling, their dad died 2 years ago. he had brain cancer.
ahh thats sad
yes, dear...but in their formative years they had my beloved dad as their role model. 2 of them have pi4ed up his ways, the eldest is as pig-headed as he has been all his life, and remains a young version of mr nasty.
oh no! Poor you! was he your biggest challange raising
actually, no. it was the youngest who had attention deficit disorder AND oppositional defiant disorder. the eldest only had the attention deficit disorder.
sounds like they both kept you on your toes-lol
I hope you dont catch DH's cold--put on the m4
tie the vick's jar around your n4
so do i, pugs...because if i do, it may delay my surgery. and does not make a happy rose...
I love the smell of vicks
I would say so! If its not one thing its another
rehi guys
Maybe God is telling you something-lol
welcome back Joso
keep your distance rose, treat him like a plague carrier. lol
you get your fws, Joso
yes, how is is going for you pug
Iam plugging away but Iam not finding this grid too friendly--down to 85
but I talk too much too--lol
I read back before returning, sorry about the baby, I can't imagine the loss.
WTG JOSO!!!
thanks Joso--time has lessen it but its something that never is erased
55 here right now! So wonderful
i imagine not, I've always regretted not having kids myself, always been good with them. And animals too
cool at last
my animals are my kids! lol
LOLOLOL....joso you reminded me of something a co-worker once said. i had asked him to check my blood sugar level, by pricking my finger.
have you looked for another yet, Joso
he shuddered and said, i don't hurt people only patients
hehehe, thats great rose
grretings all

DIL's family have 7 kids, all with D first names as their last name is Dailey
anita, where is here
uk
need a flag
how do i do that?
hey nanette
thanks Ruby--how are things for you there
Personally, I prefer biblical names, but one has to be very careful -- one friend has a son named Caleb!
choose your country in profile and flag will appear
anita, go into your account, and fill in the details
ty joso
anita my sisters name hello
choose your gender and you get a shirt
anita is practically a neighbor! One of my daily lexulous friends is coming to visit at the end of the month. She's English, but spends half her year on the other side of France. We've never met, but it should be fun, at least for me.
hi pink
it's listed in optional info, pink
(husband is not so keen!)
sorry, anita...duh!!!
that will be nice for you Ruby
all filled in, but no flag :(
Hes probally just worried about you being safe
hello must be an awkward name, lead to many abbot and costello moments
ah it has appeared! not as thick as i thought.
I got your flag on here Anita
refresh your screen
it shows on mine anita
its showing on mine now :)
ty folks
yw anita
for pete's sake. someone give me a gun. DH is coughing and spluttering in the bathroom.
omg 2 guns which 1?
whoot...look at that...anita is a female from the uk...
shotgun?
revolver?
the double-barrell, in case i miss with the first..lol
STAY AWAY, ROSE! lol
good call
perhaps DH not so lucky to have you
gotta stop chatting or wont ever finish. lol
duh...you think, joso?? he has man-flu...and not a lot of sympathy from yours truly.
lol Joso---Rose a shot of Vc or B12 maybe
*giggle* from across the room...use his butt for a dart board.
and you hide it so well
I thought you were a caring nurse?
oh, i do care...i care if he keeps well away from me....
your all corrupting me! <<<<<innocent
I would think the darts will take care of that
lol--poor DH
Just where did he get that germ? While at the hospital with MIL
testing if I got an icon
grrr
happy to meet you (again) Anita
hi ruby
I agree with you, Rose, man flu is a hoax perpetrated on sympathetic wives!
go to google images and pick one you like, download to your comp, then get into profile and browse to the image on your machine
ok will re do ty joso
and their complaining can make you sc6!
yes, pugs...but i'm not going there. think MIL has enough on her plate.
when my BH has a cold or the flu, you'de think he was on his death bed=lol
mind you, to give him his due, he does have chronic asthma....so far i haven't yelled, sc6ed or told him he is sleeping on the couch.
what about your own plate? Isnt it running over?
no, that's my cup running over...lol
so I guess its sleeping back to back, huh?
spray the lysol!
test
but so help me, if he leaves the bedside lamp on again all night....
yay...pink....you have an icon
there ya go pink nice choice
not bad wouldn't take my first ty joso
blinders,ear-plugs and a mask should help-lol
I like it but it really does not look like a pawprint with a heart
ooooh, pink is really here. Welcome!
so that's pink AND anita both fully intergrated into the babble community. nice work, joso
looks like a pink paw though
colorful too
"We are family, all my Babble friends and me"
look at that, pink has a whole new personallity, and it's pink
hands joso a years supply of popcorn
presumably pink popcorn
lol
yummmm!!! *elbows joso out of the way* let me at it....scoff, scoff
oh my, popcorn and bourbon -- how good is that?
dont take it all, Rose!
oh, did you want some, joso? * hands joso a handful *...regally of course.
I think this pink popcorn is marketable
popcorn balls sounds good too
they put sugar on the popcornhere andit's gross!
what's that bumpy thing under my feet? joso...what are you doing down there?
I dont want to know!
looking up your skirt
oh, no, ruby. caramelised popcorn...too die for....
ROFLOL, naughty joso....*pokes joso in eyes with forked stick*
and with peanuts too--mmm
oh, yeah, pugs, my friend....
has anyone ever had garrets popcorn from chicago
caramelized is great but they don't do that, just sugar.. bleah
no, whats in it
over here we call it lollygobble bliss bombs.
cant even imagine it with sugar ruby
it's disgusting
shoppers drug has a caramel corn to die for, with pecans and cinnamon in the sugar coating
it's odd, because they put butter on everything else
well they have several varieties and it is wonderful but the price is shocking check them out
ooohhh, joso, sounds scrumptious.
I am going to try sugared popcorn
that sounds good Joso
diabetic death
my mom use to pop corn in butter and sugar and it was good
pug we need to send everyone some Indiana corn
but plain sugar does sound gross
yeah we do! Pink
its what we are known for and the indy 500
we got a big iron kettle that we pop corn in over the camp fire and its sooo good and smells wonderful
you can't buy fresh corn here, either. They don't even feed it to cows which is why the beef is of such poor quality
hmmm
still need that pink popcorn
what in the world do they fatten them up on Ruby
this is full of Fr words: puit, ecrit, and more
not enough as the beef is very lean and not Worth eating
I wish I knew French words its such a pretty language
not the way I speak it! lol
pink popcorn and pink cottoncandy!
i have learned a fewon here lol o ruby lol
gotta go
{{big group hug!}}
bye Ruby and hugs
be well
tomorrow, darling. hope you have a nice day

18 to go...
33 here...
i just finished makin meat loaf meals for the shut ins. came a bit bland bt with ketchup it is ok. if you love ketchup like i do. i mean LOVE
ti4/8 and ti5/18 = Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl's raft, the Kon-****
TO - I know what you mean about the meatloaf. Add a few herbs and a dash of Worcestershire Sauce next time. x
i put in oatmeal, bran cereal cumbs,, ketchup , worchestrshire and lots of grated onion and juice. the onions seemed very cvery mild
oa4 - I'm a silly oa3 not to have noticed these lumbering great oa4's before.
the bran cereal crumbs are just a great binder. oh, and some salsa and salsa on top
TO - try adding a bit of minced garlic.
but i needed more salsa
fresh out.
the salsa is another ood addition. also some dried minced onion.
Get some dried garlic in, TO. It's a good standby.
but i ate it with lots of ketchup
ina garten has a recipe with ground turkey in which she adds beef broth for flavor.
ketchup's great for adding flavour to minced meat, or ground meat as you call it in US.
the meat itself was very wet, as if it had been frozen or near frozen, know what i mean?
i think that is also the problem. but it is edible.
I do, TO. You have to squeeze in your fist and wring it out a bit.
i bought it yesteyday. you can get by with next day usually. perhaps they had it chilled very low.
Can't believe I didn't hear that police si5/10 blaring in the grid before now. *slaps self* Note to self - stop doing this it makes you sound weird!
ah, keep 'em comin
Didn't see the stair ri5/10 coming either, nearly tripped up it!
oh, i cannot believe i missed this word, i could just sc
sc6/24
And now the ic6/24 cometh! EEK!
don't sc6/24. i have a headache.
I won't. LOL
28.
tr6/21 - plural or verb form of te5/12 meaning 3 times? Who knows?
6 left here.
ah, now that one i had.
ot6/18 - idle, useless or indolent. I obviously have been to not see that one yet.
i am ahead of you on that one
i LOVE that word, indolent.
pi6/42 - what boys hope to do when they go on a night out looking for girls.
pt6/21 = barley water.
ah, ty
my s words are slow.
I've got 3 words left and they are all p words.
i stillneed 2 p words

pi 4/9 and 5/20 -- maybe sounds akin to a fussy eater

'Bye TO. See you again soon.
Okay... last word... peers at grid.
she does not go ... just lurks until I am gone
pis4/5 the last and my last word.
Oops! Didn't mean to put a 3rd letter.
Well, if it's true, never mind, o-o. Not everyone can get on with everyone else.
Any clues needed now I'm done?
I am amused
o-o, some people go when I arrive and no doubt reappear after I'm gone. I don't check and I don't let it worry me.
The power of a pariah
LOL
Oh, I am not concerned ... really kind of funny
Have a good one, Jacula
You, too, o-o.
Congrats, Jacula!!!!!
May I please have a clue for pt6-21? Thanks

pt+vowel+beach pebbles-last cons....
Thanks so much, pida.
I thought this grid was easy today, but without the list, I would be out of luck. and even with it, I'm going slow.

<--- mr. nice guy
oh no....i'm not falling for that
lol
It's a combination of twitching and jerking, something people do when they can't dance.
I really don't know
oh
:)) good description molly
that would describe my dancing
Kind of a spaz attack to music
I can't dance to save my life
I have good rhythm with everything else :D
miley twerked a lot at the music award show in her performance with the foam finger
I have a friend who says that most men can't dance because they can't get past the 1-2 thing. : D

NoLa bounce thing
Yep...I nicknamed her the "alien chipmunk with OCD on drugs." It's a very good description.

Yes, thank you, Ru.
got it...thanks ru
Good luck with the commute to West By God Virginia. I hope you have 4-wheel drive.
Not at the moment. Kind of hoping to not need one.
The hospital is right off the highway, I bet most of the time, the worst will be from my house to the highway, which is 15-20 mins of the drive.
good evening all - where are u going phandmd?
l
Berkley Medical Center in Martinsburg WV
formally known as City Hosptial.
that is the eastern panhandle and is very flat compared to the rest of the state - many live in that area and commute (by train) to DC
beautiful towns nearby along the Potomac - Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown - and you are on the C and O canal which follows the Potomac down to DC - bike/hiking trail
yes, that's right, WVteach
I doubt I will be checking them out after a 12 hour night shift though...
used to drive out there and teach off-campus classes for WVU there on Saturdays
Good evening babbleworld!!
good evening jilly
waves hello
Taking a break from studying this week. Just got home from a work dinner get together, so am babbling!
What are you studying, Jill?
*waves back at phandmd*
ACLS recert
I just got my ACLS; fun stuff!
Much easier now than 33 years ago!!
I have no doubt. I don't think you could fail in my class. Which I am not sure is a good thing.
Actually, make that 32 years ago...young and full of energy then, took the course and sent out wedding invitations! I'm not sure I slept much!!
That must have been quite intense!
Ours here used to be easier, new teacher last year and a real stickler!
The problem I have is, thankfully, I don't have the need to use it much....but I have to relearn it every two years.
yup, same as the BLS, I think that is a good thing, especially since they have made it so easy now.
BLS I can do in my sleep!
we all can! That gets easier and easier too.
good evening!
hello uusue!
hi jill!
re 8,45 please
I could use either of the re8's
me too, uusue
the 2nd one is to re-write a play
RE 8/50 - to do the actors lines again
RE 8 / 45 - rhymes with making up your mind
ha, got it, strange word
:( not getting either of those clues.
** finito ** last word AM 7 / 36, almost forgot the word already :)4

thanx teach.
RE 8/50 - RE + what an actor reads their lines from
re8/50 is re + the written form of a play or TV show
WooT WooT WooT teach!!
RE 8/45 - sounds like what a surgeon does to cut into someone

LOL hey tor -- how's the weather north of me? It feels really chilly here. Not the 80 degree weather I was promised!
YAY jilly!
thanks for the O words
yvw stiddy!! Wish I could see you when we are on our trip!!
It's warmish and humid here. Not bad
me too, jilly - but now you have your passport you will visit more often, I am glad of that!
Wait a minute....torgone is north of you???
sure. in chilly san diego, right? LOL
Or maybe I am in Baja...
or maybe I have the school-wide virus and just spent three hours asleep, waking when my congestion was too much to sleep through... *sigh*
BUT. I made it for a WHOLE WEEK! I love my students, my classroom, my colleagues, my school... :-) just wish I were more "on" the last couple days instead of teaching with a sore throat.
I'm north of Seattle right now
I also took a tylenol, so hopefully this stupid fever (low grade) will subside soon and I can sleep.
If I weren't ill, I would drive up tomorrow tor and take you to one of my favorite restaurants.
Just popped in FB and saw your post torgone
*hands stiddy a hot cup of tea*
It's ok stid. Where is it? I'd like to try it
Whatcha doing in Everett tor?
Making magic cause I do that kind of thing ..
Well, do you like seafood? Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar has really good food -- not pretentious, just solidly tasty and at least it used to be affordable
It's near Pike Place Market
Love seafood
he has an amazing chowder. He was a grumpy old curmudgeon with a wicked sense of humor -- much like you -- made a living as an editorial writer, died a long time ago, but the restaurant remains. Took Ciocia Judy there when she visited several years ago
Will look it up. I'm actually free until Monday
Tom and I used to use one of his recipes for chowder. He says to use "...white wine. Any old wine will do, don't be precious." is how I think he put it. :-)
I likes me a good chowdah
:-D so do we.
If you like sushi, the ordinary sushi at Uwajimaya is very tasty, and again affordable. Not like the anemic nonsense sold in places like Fred Meyer.
I likes me some sushi too
Gotta remember those restuarants stiddy!!
Ivar's has decent chowder, too -- He was the funny guy who used to play his guitar and sing "acres of clams" for his commercials. But lots of people eat there, and I think Emmett's is quirkier.
is uwajimaya by pikes as well?
Uwajimaya is the Japanese-American supermarket in Chinatown.
There are other Uwajimayas now, but Seattle's is the original.
ahhh. ty stid
It used to be more like a department store, but now they seem to focus on the food, and there are lovely little apartments above it -- they built a new building a few years ago. It's nice.
*sitting in PB because I just found the AC word I used*
Sitting in Mexican restaurant cause I do that kind of thing on a Friday on the road
There is a fantastic Indian restaurant that Riemann (used to babble, old college friend) took us to, but it's at the north end of seattle. Let me see if I can find it's name.
LOL...totally missed it stid..
Saffron grill, Tor -- saffrongrill.com
We used to eat at a great Thai restuarant in the Capitol hills aera
sorry about errant apostrophe. did I mention the fever? *sigh* Jac would be so disappointed in me
111 left here - not likely to finish ..
We used to have a couple other restaurants, but one closed for sure and the other I can't remember the name. Has been more than a decade since we had enough money to eat out regularly.
I think it took me about an hour torgone....you are faster than me...
Pobrecita stiddy :(
For Vegan food, I can recommend the Loving Hut (Vietnamese-random Asian fusion) which is across the freeway from the main Chinatown, and Bamboo which is very close to the Seattle Center.
I miss the days we both were working and would eat out every Friday...
There is a vegan AND gluten free place in Fremont called the Flying Apron. I haven't eaten there yet, but once Riemann brought me some tasty treats, and I used to have their cookbook. *drool*
I am working, but every penny I will get in a couple weeks is "spoke for" I think...
We had a end of summer BBQ potluck tonight with my surgery department coworkers...I am still full!!
We had a end of summer BBQ potluck tonight with my surgery department coworkers...I am still full!!
sounds nice, jilly!
Not sure why that doubled....maybe because I'm doubly stuffed!
we have a foundation now, too -- I put a pic on my website wednesday. Too tired since then to do anything else.
Is that enough restaurant names for you, tor?
Great to hear that stid!!
I have friends up that way who would know the "night life" better than I do, if you wanted places that have music?
I could use some good BBQ .. There's a BBQ place in Everett that's meh
hm. BBQ. Caveman in Auburn used to be really good, but last time it wasn't that great. The fellow who used to own it sold it to some new people who have a much cleaner kitchen, but the flavors were anemic and the cole slaw wasn't even close.
All the BBQ places here are meh and worse
I don't know it, but the name "Smokin' Pete's" Rings a bell, and it's a cool name...
I shall have to back tomorrow and get all the names stid! Muchos thank yous! I may go looking for some live blues tomorrow
If you were closer, the Ranch House on Highway 8 going toward Elma is really really good (in our opinion).
hello all - stuck on the the second re8 ?
hey Tanja -- I don't have the first one, unfortunately
There should be good blues in Seattle, Tor -- I hope you find some!
I'll alert my fans for sure ..
And the meds are working. I am tired and ready to sleep again. Good luck on the grid, Tanja and Tor (and lurkers) -- I'll be on again tomorrow evening. *poof*
second re8=re+what an actor reads from
Nitres stid
ty and that is fireworks:)
Wahey! I got an 8 .. Thanx Jj
Niters stiddy, sleep well and hope you feel better in AM
yvw torgone!
the other re8 is re+part of what a surgeon makes in the skin
Any last clues before I toddle off to bed?
Oops....WooT WooT WooT Tanja!!
To expand on my flippant answer earlier: what I do is make machines work - sometimes big expensive complex machines. That's what I've done here, and why they want me to stay until Monday - to make sure everything is ok
Thanx again and nitres Jj
Ah...and you were cute earlier....imagine it can be construed as magic when you fix them!!
And with that *poof*
Me too *poo*
am7 please?
mab: "can't remember"
thanks so much.
