Congrats Ru
glad to oblige you, ru ((ru))
actually granny's emblem makes her look a little flat chested :D
*waiting for a witty retort*
Still waiting ...
Guess Rose is off doing other stuff!
maybe Don is goosing her
and she's giggling to hard to type
Or reassuring her after the icon comment!
LOL
Nah! She'd be laughing!
maybe he brought out the whipped cream and she didn't know what to do
Aw. C'mon! Rose is never short of ideas.
HA
Stuck at 28 here, so taking a break. Enjoy the rest of your evening / night.
*wonders if they have cool whip in Austrailia*
Will probably have to list when I come back.
HAAHAA it was potty break time....
bye liz.. thanks for the laughs
Never heard of it but guess there's something similar.
Bye Ru - as I said before, always enjoy your humour.
we were just talking about you GR :D
Ru's thoughts were more fun, Rose.
Now def taking a break. BBL.
and i'm not flat-chested in the icon, it's just everything has gone south.
....yeah.. for Don ... :D
LOL
hey, nothing stays perky forever you know...
LOL
how's your weekend, ruru?
what's that joke? I had roses put on my breast when I was younger.. now they're long-stemmed roses ...
my weekend so far has been okay. Tomorrow will be more fun
roflol.....omg
oh???
I'm taking myself out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants nearby
nice, mate. what sort of cuisine?
french bistro.. delicious
I wish I could cook that well
mmmmm, yum...
I took Doren there once and she loved it
i love food...period.... except for this penchant for chili flakes in everything.
I can't do chili flakes.. but I love spicy food
so do i ruru, but chilli....not happening....
I get roseacea (sp?) from hot foods
the only thing I have in common with Bill Clinton
I don't smoke cigars :D
don and i tried a new indian restaurant, called 'foodies'. food was delish and plentiful. i asked the waitress to ask the chef if he could please hold the chilli flakes. but oh, no, out the food came...so loaded, i drank about 3 pints of iced water
oh.. i'd hate that.. couldn't do it ..in my younger days I loved mexican food and hunan chinese food the hotter the better
ruru, my lips swell, and i break out in a most unbecoming sweat. i hate it.
people pay a lot of money in LA to have their lips swell granny :D
our local indian restaurant knows us quite well. i don't even have to ask anymore. they saw me once after a dish with chilli in it...wasn't great advertising for their food...lol
that's really pretty rude to ignore a customer's request like that
*shrug* no big deal, we just won't go back.
going to toddle off to read.. see you at the flip tomorrow
needless to say we didn't give them a good review.
okay, mate. hope you sleep well once you finally settle.
knock knock, anybody home
Hello

sorry i missed you last night. and dinner nearly ready. are you well?
HI, I had this night mare, I was all alone
lolol...it
all in your head, hence the echo
so I miss one gig and the band brakes up, that's ridiculous
I am fine, how are things with you rose
*toes tapping* and so where were you, hmmm?
have taken it very quietly today. very little pain.
asleep, was up and about all day and tuckered out around 8
whoa....up all day....my goodness
Actually had things to do, couldn't keep up the lifestyle of the idle poor.
dinner ready, mate. hope to see you tomorrow. take care of you, right?
you too mate, nice to touch base
*poof*
The last few grids have been brutal. You wouldn't want to buy a vowel with this one.
fireworks 4 me. poof im gone
good morning!
good morning!
What a poopy small grid fro a Sunday
Hi ruby, not that easy tho
h jack, they're never easy for me, but at least with the big ones, there's something to do
True, and more words to get before you get stumped and have to go looking for clues!
Hello all. ((((Rubes!!!!))))
good morning all
Hi sprite
hey Dianne :)
I need a clue for the re6 - anyone have some help for me?
sorry, just started... only have 23 words in.
'work' for your wage again
Hello Sprite & Di
hi lyn :) xxx
Just got it as your clue went up - thanks.
Now I can go start working on dinner. Bye all.
bye Dianne, enjoy
wow, two beautiful endings, or even 3, and only 91 words?
I'm not really concentrating but obviously haven't seen those yet
you will... and then wonder with me how they only render so few words, grin
good morning everyone:)
hiya crossy *hugs*
hi Cross
((sprite))) lynxx:))
Hey Cross - I was listening to an interview with a female Canadian army officer on the radio just before. I think she was french speaking as her 1st language. She constantly pronounced WARY as WEARY. Is that a Canadian thing?
no,i think as you said this is a result of english being her second language and not her first i say wary
as it so happens, we have a lot of french canadian army perssonel near me at CFB Borden
thanks - she said it so often but everything else she said was fine. Pretty strong woman - talking about how women are treated in the Canadian army incl Afganistan. Canada seems to have it sorted out OK unlike stories you hear of women in US army
...and women in the forces in Australia I must add!
i am sure there are still some problems out there but we seem to be growing out of them as we do indeed have some very strong and capable ladies in high millitary positions
our last gov general i believe was adrienne a french canadian female if i am not mistaken but i think there is a new one, also a lady of power but i cannot rember her name
sex matters not since as we see the ladies do an admirable job in the seat
pity not everyone sees it that way here
ahh just checked,we had Adrienne Clarkson and now we have david johnson
david sounds like a very strong female
like i said, sprite, this one is new and i was unsure who came after adrienne
just pulling your leg, crossy
:PP
:)
*hug*
))sprite))
this stupid grid is all endings and no first parts
i am just starting to discover that :((
I am only half way and stumped (plus a tummy of good food and wee bit of wine doesn't help much). I'll finish later or in the morning. Bye to you both - have a good day
you have a good rest,lynxx
bye lyn, have a peaceful night and a a lovely day
hi sprite
hi joso *hugs* About to start gaming?
no, only do that every other week.
ah ok, I thought every Sunday. Any other nice plans then?
besides, in general gamers don't rise at 7:00 on a sunday
crossy does.
nothing special, laze about, read
lol joso... you could be playing with europeans... it is noonish here.
insomnia is a pain.saturday night i was in here bothering sprite at 3 am lol
sounds nice and sundayey
i rather enjoy playing with my euro and aussie friends
I was here, but working on the grid, what are your big plans crossy
always happy to see you, crossy, though I wish you healthy nights of sleep. You gonna have the MRI today?
for today? landry, reading, laudry, read some more, babble, laundry, more babble, more reading and laundry
wow, busy day
oh no,the MRI is the last sunday of next month
ah ok, long time waiting :(
have to wait a month for it.the machine is in high demand
oh, that was my saturday, run out of socks and it's time to do laundry
once upon a time, the wait for this machine used to be 2 months or more,so we are gaining ground
Is your self delivered traction helping crossy?
hiya Chrissie :)
so-so ,chrissie. minimal relief
hi crissy
Hi al :)
sprite, how war the counselor visit?
*was, hopefully not war
Don't know who al is - hi all
must be a lurker, good ol lurker al
it went pretty ok, joso. I have demanded some room and time for how incredibly angry I was with Tim for ruining everything, and they took it seriously. Even Tim. We have formulated some shared goals. And Tim has agreed to some basic behaviour rules. So far, he is doing what he promised.
Chrissie is listening to paul simon... you can call me al
That's good to hear sprite
friday next for the new meeting
Praying for you crossy
glad it went well for you sprite
thanks joso. Hoping for the best and doing all we can.
Not good to hear paul simon, good to hear it went well, lol
*grin* Thanks Chrissie. It is so good to feel that people care. I appreciate it more than I can say.
Off to shops now with my beautiful daughter. She is only home for the weekend. Have a good one all :)
have a lot of fun, Chrissie!
enjoy your daughter chrissie... and .... shopping *shudder*
clue for am 5
fireflies. Bye crossy and joso *hugs*
bye sprite
am5, nine princes in am5
crossy hates shopping. when it must be done(for stuff other than food) i itemize an exact list of what is needed research it all online, find ONE store that has everything on my list but can still give me the best overall price outcome at the till and only then will i head out, tear into the store, grab only what is on the list and nothing else and finish in the shortest possible ammount of time
am5...goldish color, also a woman's name
ty molly got it
Morning all!
suze!!
I'm with you crossy, not a macho man but occasionally a male gene kicks in, and shopping is one of those times (book browsing doesn't count)
Hi crossy!
hi sue
no indeed!! when it is books, i can easily kill half a day wandering in a book store
Hi joso!
((crossy)) We have a place here called "Half-price Books" that also has DVDs and CDs and I can wander in there almost endlessly. As stated, the prices are really good and it's one those places that will pay you a little for books you want to sell. Just LOVE that place...and I HATE to shop, too!
Hello, everyone!
lol.i can lose 4 hours wandering down book stuffed narrow asiles in out of the way used book stores
We also have Zia which is mostly music and movies but is rather like a 60's "head shop." Love that place, too.
I had no money for so long that I still haven't quite realized I can actually go to these places and buy something now!
lol.we have a new head shop downtown.have not been there yet but i tell you will not be long before instead of gulping the chemical cocktails i get from my dr.i will try for natural medicine that seems overall to be good for many issues but with less side affects
oh! did your disability issues get fixed with the govt?
We're on the same wavelength, crossy. I've been seriously looking into natural remedies myself as the medications the cardiologist wants me to take make me sick and dizzy. I've slowed stopped taking them and now just take aspirin but am planning to add vitamins and herbs.
always remember though, mimi,to keep your doctor well informed on any alternative meds you may be taking
Still waiting for a court date, crossy...should be sometime around March. That's why I keep saying I'll visit early next year and, maybe, be moving if the lawsuit settles in my favor.
name that proper noun! author stoker
Brahm
Bram!

i thought there was an h in there;(
Loved the Gary Oldman Dracula movie.

that's the composer, brahms
You're thinking about the music composer, crossy.
ahh.must of been
wow, those a's are making me a bit dizzy
i seem to think the eagle nest or one of its many spellings must be in here
somewhere
Really not liking this grid. I'm going to get some breakfast and maybe come back later....maybe. Bye and hugs all around!
maybe
tc,mimi

whoa
10 words in and with the arrival of my friend soodle, I got the red boxes! boo hiss
i don't see soodle, is soodle at your house for real?
I just went to the bottom of the chog. What abouty Paul Simon? He was my friend in college.....
no no, soodle arrived in the game just as I was blocked
oh
paul simon was your friend in college?
{{crossy}}
yes, he gave me his note to pass the Contemprary Civilization course and I was the nly girl short enough to dance with him
wow that's cool
hussein aga khan dated my RA, but, that's about it
He had a band in High School, Tom and Jerry, with Art Garfunkel and he was the only person I knew with a car (bought from his hi school success,), a '57 chevy convertible
oh. well, i knew a lot of people with cars.
did something happen to him?
everybody was poor at my collehe
to hussein aha khan? not that i know of. he's just the son of one of the wealthiest men in the world, that's all.
college* (probably because we couldn't spell)
*aga
anyone have the lower T or the bottom A?
do I need to read back over the chog?
ar5/10
ar + not short
for what ruby?
ty une
thx for ar5, Un
yw :-)
why did Paul Simon come up? When you get to be my age, you start watching obits
i thought you brought paul simon up, lol
i haven't been here long so i didn't know
how many words today, please?
no no, I saw his name at the bottom of the visible chog
nonjour une
91
no day for you!
thx, hurshy
or even onjour
is a nonjour a day you wish didn't happen?
lol
i thought you were the day nazi
lower T is my last blank
is that like the soup Nazi?
that was what i had in mind, yes
((ruby))
hey ruby :-)
hey crossy and une!!!!
It has been in the 60's here,1 even at night, for a couple of days. Very weird
F not C i assume
60' F, 16 or so, C
rats gtg without getting that T
later all
weird here too -- 77 later this week but hard freeze last Friday!
don't take my day while i'm gone, day nazi
:)
we didn't have a hard freeze all of lastwinter, just grey and nasty
taking it, bad nel!
speaking lof la**s, we have about 50, across the road, working on cropping the field
Wht a sight for a city girl
here atm ,it is 4c or 39f was minus 2 and icy yesterday. we will have an indian summer now that we have had one shot of snow and ice,but then after halloween is over all bets are off and we slide into real winter
It has been different every year inour 15, but it I certainly getting warmer, much less snow each successive winter
agreed, ruby. our last three "winters" were very soft and over at least a month early
we've had no hard frost for two years and therefore, mosquitoes, for the first time
ahh, half
last winter,it ended a full month and a half early and what happened as a result was that we had two full cycles of mosquito hatching instead of the usual one
it is certainly changing -- and very fast!
yes, ruby. it is causing severe problems in our northern communities
Is there a clue list today?
soon, the polar bears will be in your trash!
i would check vollymomdee she usually has one
coming to your door for handouts
lol,i many areas that is happening, ruby.though far north of me
here, they once saw a bear, I think in 1898, and they still talk about it! lol
lol.you mean the frenchies missed eating that one?
they ate everything else, but they're such poor shots, they probably missed hi
bear bourgignon
lol
i do not care for bear meat.very strong and gamey
I have Dee's list in my profile.
they serve a lot of wild boar here, either as adults (argh) or as babies (marcassin) both are awful, gamey and nasty
mmm. this little grid has some sharp teeth:((
and they wreck people's gardens, so nobody likes them
uh oh, like a bear or a chow chow
chow-bears
here, our heavy deer population can strip your garden clean if you do not set things up p[roperly
my baby girl is actually starting to be a little bit pretty
no deer here, they've gone the way of the rabbits and squirrels, all et!
they even ate the squirrels???!!!
yes, eeeew
imagine all the squirrel drumsticks needed for one meal
and you see ladies with fur coat made of 150 tiny skins, either squirrels or worse
:( here for the most part, genuine fur coats are very much out of favor
the tails would given the esophagus a good dusting
would have
I wontinue to wear fur. One time I was in NY (on a biz trip from Miami) and someone started yelling at me and I said, with my best \ny accent, "yeah, it's dawg, you gonna do something about it?"
I used to be a tough cookie
now, when it's cold, I use my old fur coat as an etra blanket, fur side int
when someone inherits one here perhaps their mum bought it in the 40s or 50,s it can be surprisingly hard to get rid of,but we found there are a few people around who take the old mink coats and stoles and repurpose the fur and make teddy bears for children out of them
our very own carlee has a friend who does just that.they are beautiful teddy bears
I am unapologetic and warm!
lol. we will forgive you ,ruby:))
I can understand not wearing animal fur if you have issues with that. I don't understand harassing other people who do choose to wear it though.
I once had a skunk coat, from the 30;s I think bought at the Salvation Army, which gave up its true provenance whenit got wet
i never harass, though some are quite militant about it all
lol@ skunk coat
ty for your forgiveness! lol
what about fir trees? do the the owners get harassed ?
I look a little bit like someone's teddy when I' dressed in fur
lol
good one
i can imagine our pint sized ruby peeking out from the depths of a thick mink coat
If you start drawing lines, you have to give up meat and leather shoes
sorry,i do not wear meat shoes, that goes on the bbq;)
My coats weren't killed for me and, these days, mink and lynx are farm-raised, not so different from chicken
I think all the militant ones are vegans in Birkenstocks.
indeed they are,ruby
how many words today?
what are birkenstocks?
like my DIL
Hippie shoes
91
I think I'll leave her my coats in my will! lol
thanks o-o
lol!! yes ruby!!
sandals usually worn with gym socks
Native Americans (who consider animals sacred) killed them for their pelts. They just made sure to be grateful for the sacrifice.
leave her your entire collection
they'd be too small for her, but I'm sure the gesture would be appreciated. She just wants my jewelry lol
*Waits for PETA to charge the chat*
they did indeed, molly, but they had a much closer relationship and reverence for the animals than we do.they were much wiser
uh oh, taking shelter under my desk
crossy waits for peta with his seal skin covered baseball bat
crossy, you need to develop a NY snarl!
I can do it in Fr, too, but they are very "louche" here and if they can wear squirrel, what can they possibly say to me
oh new york as in warsh the clothes and airon them or "he haaad a haaaat ataaack" that sort of thing?
Yep, sacred = reverance
Or reverence
no, that's Boston. NY is wawsh the clothes and Noo Yawk
sunday is thesaurus day in babble:)
see,i get confused with the dialects, ruby
every day is thesaurus day I here
who wouldn't? Out of town is out of town lol
i just worry about not burning the bacon eh?
one of the best ways of being nasty in Fr is to call people "tu" instead of vous. Without saying much, it is very aggressive
speaking of which,it is time to wander into the kitchen and see what i can create in the way of breakfast..brb
{{crossy}}
So, Desmond Tutu is very nasty to the French
morning all! (or whatever time of day applies, lol) crossy fixing brekkie for us all? yum!
hi rbus, I'm on the next plane!
me too!
We had pumpkin pancakes and country sausage for breakfast. Good combination of smells.
there'll be bacon, most likely, huh? ;)
ooh, that does sound good, Molly!
Rbud, I like your icon : )
ty! :)
Ooo, it's thesaurus day. Must look up another word for redundant.

I've thought the same thing about the "E", Annie :-)
do they last long indoors? I have a terrace where I have flfowers in pots.
They do, but I don't have anywhere to put them. My friend "winters" hers in a heated garage, and sometimes takes some of my bigger and nicer pots to her place.

hi stid, how comes the house
the grid is small and gnarly
Well, we have some interior walls framed in now. Took pics, but it tends at this stage to look like a forest of splinters. :-) I am told we'll get the trusses up in about a week, and then the roof goes on immediately, and they start finishing the inside. (thanks for asking) I am pretty excited to see what it will feel like to have a home again!
so it's feeling like a house to be now. you can walk through and see where the walls, windows and doors will be.
yes, and that is a good feeling. A couple things I need to remind the builders, like making sure the master bath walls are properly put together for grab bars everywhere -- I won't put them in right away, but I really don't want to have to remove tilework and such later!
last night, we went to the symphony and heard an amazing cellist -- Pavel Gomziakov. If you ever have the chance to hear him play in person, do. His music was magical.
how are you, joso? Is it getting cold up north yet?
glad you enjoyed, not much of a classical music sort myself.
jacket weather, not truly cold yet, some trees still holding on to their leaves, others naked.
what i think of as crisp days, but lots cooler at night.
It's very jacket weather here still -- after such a wet, cold September I was expecting snow already! Which would be very early for us... but seems we never know now. I just hope the worst holds off now until the roof is on and the exterior is painted. :-) I don't mind crisp days and cool nights as long as it's dry.
well, I am past halfway, but cannot figure out the T on the far right. How fishy is it? Should I just list?
very fishy, ta6. would you like a clue?
Your clue at 10.11 was a doozy joso :)
Bulgarian appertizer.
tyvm chrissy
Hi zooz, you got the storms yet?
stidmama -- did Muti conduct?
It is getting rather windy..but not too bad...have batten down the hatches ready...and have also got candles ready..incase of power cuts. How about you?
I'm hoping we are just about far enough north to miss the worst, but it has started raining and the winds are getting up
here is an obscure clue, ta6 has the same cadence as a yellow fruit sometimes used for rude gestures.
Hope you miss it..it is supposed to be going over the top of here.
.....going to look up cadence.....
thanks joso, was called away briefly. The conductor, Erda was an amazing (and VERY tall) young man Alastair Willis. HE was incredible, and I think in another ten years or so will be a virtuoso as well.
rhythm
I'll try to remember the name -- thanks, stidmama
Yes. My daughter's up from Guilford for the weekend. She's not going till tomorrow night so it should be over by then.
Or ta + don't make a d*** out of a crisis.
oooh. got the clue on the cadence!
I hope so, Chrissie :-)
okay, time to grade papers. I played all day yesterday and have papers, a lesson to plan (for the whole team, of course not yet done) for tomorrow.... see you-all again later! stay safe.
WAIT! ZOOM!!!!! (((hugs and hugs))) and choclits for all... *repoof*
(((Stid)))
And done..Happy babling everyone..bye for now.
Congrats zooz, tc

bye all - hagd :)
Yay nan!
"lurve" always makes me think of a love/larvae combination
so .. Trouble with the Lurve?...
This little grid is a bugger!
Or louvre, as in I Mona Lisa love your icon. I haven't figured out when it became unpopular to say "love" and is not popular to say "lurve" or "love me some".
I need help with 7's pls. I only have re7. I know there is a ce7, la7 and no7 but I do not see them.
And is NOW popular
back again hopefully to finish this pesky grid
there is an am7 which i dont have either
ce7 starts like a pottery class and ends with Mr. Gore
ty Molly, another new word for me.
I found the am7
clue pls, Bzz
am7...am + the last 5 of the process by which you make art
The cr8 process
ty Molls, another new word
Are the Redskins playing today, Molly?
thanks, Molly, finished a phone call and came back to find am7
la7 ends with Sesame Street's Ernie's partner
yes.. Denver isn't it tonight>? or Monday?
Yes Bea, they are about to get their asses kicked by Denver.
ty Molls for la7
Now, Molly...They may win...You never know.
Yes Bea, stranger things have happened.
not likely
after losing to the Colts.. Denver is going to blow out Washington
no7 is one who pays attention to things.
With the way Denver is scoring, I predict Denver - 103, Washington - 21.
I'm biting my nails until the end of the Chief's game...
sheesh, ty Molls. and I already had the no6/21 too :(
Molly, I am trying to be more hopeful than that!
Poor Lou Reed. It took the internet all afternoon to figure out if he was dead or not. Alas, dead. Another rock legend goes to the big show.
Phan, this is a conflicting game for me as I am both a Washington and a Denver fan.
And the colored girls go doot di doot di doot....
Oh, I see.
wonder if he's going to wear Velvet .. .underground?
any clues for AE 5?
ae + spy agency
I always think of Sweet Jane when Lou Reed gets mentioned. Walk On The Wild Side got usurped by The Kinks.
ends with a govt agency
thanks.
hi all
he was a pioneer..that's for sure
hello jm
The man had an awesome relationship with his guitar.
really.. with no strings attached either
:-)
:D
Try not to fret about it Ru
i'm all keyed up
it kind of struck a chord in me somehow
The intro to Sweet Jane from Rock And Roll Animal is a guitar solo classic.
wow i must be brain dead. . . not getting a note in
I'll have to check that out
well you might be plucked jm
AM 7?
i have been a little out of tune lately
hi phand
hi, I see we are all strung up today
hey there, Jmc. how goes it?
the end to the Detroit, Dallas game is exciting
the niners game is too boring to watch
poor england.. not a very good contest
tired from long hours of boring but tolerably paid work. . .
It's a damn shame that very few play the guitar like Lou Reed anymore. The up and coming generation of musicians is nothing to write home about.
am7 am + local people might be called n*****
I agree, Molly
Good clue Bea.
duly noted molls
I agree with that in general Molly
very good clue, Bzz, thank you!
There are exceptions to what I just said, but very few. Jonnny Lang for one.
Chiefs won. Two of my three teams have won this week...
the chiefs are solid this year
great defense
that's aways fun bzzn
i just hope the skins have gotten it together. . .
It is nice to see them playing well.
Johnny lang is great.. great.. saw him in concert recently.. he comes here a lot
If you want to hear another killer guitar solo, check out Jonny Lang's in the middle of his cover of Living For The City.
he must like wine :D
I love Johnny Lang. Saw him in a small venue when he was a nobody.
Just startin' here
hi bichon
think.. i'll head out for a walk it's so nice out
see you guys
have a nice walk ru. . .
Bye, ru.

Hi, bichon.

Think superman (but singular)
I found it, thanks phand
I can't come up with the AM 5 :(
hi Annie. I don't have a clue for anything. Don't think I'll make much headway before dinner

sorry
For everyone struggling with the Superman clue...not spelled the same
you should be, I already had that one...
I don't even understand what Superman means in this context
an actor that played him...
alternate spelling of his last name
got, ty
re7?
re7, sent and re7
I have always thought that it was amazing that both actor George and actor Christopher who played Superman had similar last names.
to give is better than to
Ask and you shall re 7
Good clues Phan and Annie
I thought that was a phantom...
TY.
When in doubt, try it
"It's a 'queen-o'" I love that commercial.
ar 5/16?
ar5, ar + short for girls who come out
ar and nickname for Miss Reynolds
both good clues, thanks!
*plops off chair* ---fireworks
way to go, Annie!
Yay Annie!!
congrats annie
YEA! ANNIE!
thanks, this was a humdinger
Please remind Bobby my team is up one grame. =)
game
Hi Bea, he knows, doesnt like it
His sister, bil, and nephews are rooting for Boston so he is happy. Im the Yankee fan in the family.
*Wonders if Annie is running a football pool*
Oops, baseball
There is still a lot of game to be played.
Not this year, Molly. When I worked we always had a baseball pool. I have to confess I know nothing about football except that they are trying to kill each other.
I will be surprised if this Series doesn't go 7 games.
Bea, Last word from Bobby, "Bost will take it"

I think I have zebra cakes stuck under my keys.
zebra cakes?

They are Little Debbie cakes. My grandson has had my computer all weekend.
See, there is a reason I don't allow eating at the computer.
bye dear babblers
see you Annie
Bye Annie
chao annie, have a good day
bye Annie, hi everyone else
hi pida
Anybody a Trader Joe's shopper?
Not me, Bea. I'm afraid to go in that place.
Why afraid, Molly?
luv trader joes
Afraid I will spend a bunch of money on stuff we don't need.
I have a few items I only buy at TJ's.
Good Afternoon Everybody. How are you all on this fine sunny day?
ho nef
Their olive oil is one. They also have an herbal tea we like. Love their orzo and of course their cookie butter when I can get it.
hi joso
: O Nef is not a ho
What is cookie butter?
Cookie butter is magic.
hello all....how is the grid?
yea molly, that is exactly what I meant, scheesh
hi jilly, grid is small and very gnarly
Okay, I just looked it up. See that is something I would want to buy, but it's not in the budget. Sounds divine.
My spell check always "corrects" joso's name, so I thought he was just saying hi to me, not calling me names. ;-)
Seeing that already....oh well...*splash*
Chill people, it was a joke.
It is the consistency of peanut butter but it has no nut butter in it. Tastes like a snickerdoodly gingersnapy graham cracker.
NP, Molly. I wasn't offended by anyone's remarks.
Bea : D I love that explanation.
And I didn't think you were Nef. Like I said, it was a joke.
I put a spoon of it in my steel cut oats...Best oats ever!
Snickerdoodly, gingersnappy, graham crackery oats.
Re: Trader Joe's; they just built and opened one directly across the street from a Super Target here which is dirctly across another street from a nice Cub Food Store. SO in less than 2 blocks we have 3 different full grocery stores and I don't understand why.
They didn't have the cookie butter or chunky cookie butter this time. I had to settle for cookes and cocoa swirl.
Unfortunate because now I'll want that too.
like those intersections with a gas station on every corner
(And all 3 are about 1 1/2 miles from our house; kind of nice but this could be dangerous too I think; especially when DH decides to go shopping alone)
mo 6?
mo6, the reason for an action
what is his MO 6 for killing that person
*esp murder*

dang
so sorry
Good clue Phan!
yes, that's it, lol
guess, I know where I am going...
sort of, joso, but they're in the middle of the blocks (Super Target takes up a whole block)
Have no idea about Cub Food, Nef, but I know most Super Tragets have limited products.
Ima gonna bring some hot toddy with me.
Places Dove chocolates in PB for phan
And Traders is a specialty store so I can see the three in close proximity.
thanks, Jilly, want some hot toddy?
phantom....vomit
And TJ's only sells thier name brand items.
WooTy has CHOCOLATES???
absolutely! TY phan
We have Target stores, Target Greatland (which has a wider variety but limited groceries) and the Target Superstores (which have a huge selection of foods and groceries).
A great supermarket opened up near me lately, they aim their service at the immigrant market, lots of interesting foods from all over the world.
Obviously not a lemon water and celery type day. Bravo.
;P
Funny, the SuperTargets I have been in have a small selection of groceries.
is not common the first RA 4 or 2nd?
Target was a division of the Daytons companies here in MN. So I think we are the home town area and this was once a Target Greatland store but expanded to add the whole grocery area.
second ra
2nd
All we have is Target discount stores. None of the grocery ones.
stats for the bottom corner r plz?
We have nothing in our town because a couple of supermarkets. I have to drive everywhere. Such a drag
ra4
I think the Superstores are like 50-60% larger than the Greatland ones, (which of course are lots larger than the regular ones). There are all 3 types here in the Cities.
We only have Food Lion grocery stores in our town. If I want anything "fancy" I have to go to Raleigh.
whoops...have that, looking for the T above it...dang bifocals...
tr4
Yeah, blame it on the glasses. Your fingers are all slippery from Dove.
Have to drive 20-30 minutes to get to Costco or BJ's. Trader Joe's is far too. Also Whole Foods
ta 6/21
guess there are two of tr then...
I'm probably wrong, jilly.
Only one tr4
just pulled up molly/volley list...only 1 tr. But thank you anyway.
I'm not much of a shopper myself
Both my grocery stores are within walking distance. I would not like a drive that far to the food store.

got it!

Well done Ph
You know what? I'm fed up of being ostracised on Babble. To the best of my knowledge I did nothing wrong. I'm going to call it a day on here.
loving they way the 1st half of skins vs, broncs ended!
What's going on Soodle?
Whoa, not getting the whole ostracized thing. Yes Phan, interesting game.
liking the way the 2nd half has started...
As you can tell from my earlier comment, I am pleasantly surprised.
It's definitely a defensive game!
I will have to scroll back to see that
Which is why I am so surprised. Where did this defense come from? (Not complaining)
oh, did you mean the intersting game comment?
SAWEET!
No, I predicted a score of Denver: 103, Washington: 21
yes, I don't think that prediction will come true...
I think I am watching alternate reality football. WOW
the washington part seems prescient :-)
Stocked!
no, not stocked, stooked!
Thanks 2Bit : D
Clues are up
Phan is so jazzed she can't spell.
ty lickety!
Stoked Phan, stoked. Although I kind of like stooked.
Thanks for the help, Molly. I didn't like stooked, but like you said, I am quite jazzed!
Sorry for the missed day's - didn't notice my computer was frozen and I had a busy weekend, out bush fire fighting again.
Well, that is a pretty darn good reason to have missed, Lickety...
Thank you Lickety (returns to lurk)
thanks, lickety, for your work
Lickety - its not said often enough... Thank you!
how is everything, Soodle?
You're our hero, Lickety : D
true story
Stress levels a tad high right now PH. But normal service will resume before too long. Thanks for asking ((())))
I can relate to stress levels being high. Mine are high too. Lot's going on with new job and family. Gotta just try to take one day (or moment) at a time.
Ph, the longer I live, the more I appreciate that everybody is fighting a battle. Every single person has their own difficulties. All we can do is cheer our friends on as they try to cope. (Sermon over)
"amen. darn stress can be horrid
'lurking" and reading....horrors... a deadly sin I know but just chirping in. You have that so right, Soodle!
((((((((Diane))))))))
Saw a sign that said "don't wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain". Like that for a motto :)
:-))
...and take your clothes off, if you so desire!
Love it Chrissie : D
lol
Anyway. I'm teary, tired & pretty emotional. I'm not going to inflict myself on you anymore. G'night all. And thanks.
on a whole different tangent,i have had some tooth pain last few days and while i am waiting for an appt i have tried many things for pain relief.tylenol with codene, salt gargle, ambesol and other commercial topical numbing agents but the best thing i have working for me now is CLOVES!! yup. cloves.i made a mouth rinse with cloves and it kills bateria and has some natural numbing properties it seems
night, soodle
gn,soodles
Bless you soodle. Have just popped in so will read back for an update.
crossy, to this day, my hubby cannot abide anything with cloves in it.... you figure out the reason :-)
firewords! tx all cluers. ta6/21 was my last, with the 3 A's
Well done 2Bit
That's interesting Crossy
Lots of good tips if you do a search on "cloves for toothache".
Crossy...I had a horrible toothache last weekend, and with antiobiotics and pain meds, still had pain. Ice water seemed to help. I sipped the heck out of it! Root canal on Wednesday. I hope the cloves continue to work for you.
ty,champ.i know it is a stop gap measure at best but i forsee a lot of painfull, expensive dental work in my future
Crossy, I've know about oil of cloves for years...yes, it does work. I have to do major dental work also soon...hate that.
Mine was a very deep filling that was bound to go one day. The dentist numbed me, put in a medicated pad, filled over it, and referred me to the endodontist. It wasn't bad. Once he numbed me it was fine. Hopefully it will be for you too!
Hey, what is it with this grid...we've got the rama and the lama but no ding dong!
But, then I'm here, so....oh, no, that's ding-a-ling!
((mimi))
((crossy)) Along with the cloves you can always drink lots of vodka...for medicinal purposes, of course.
drank it all last night.at one point i was gargling with raw vodla to try and ease things
You might still be in pain but you won't care as much!
vodka
lol,indeed!
but alas my vodka allowance is done for this month
too much month left over at the end of the booze:(
That's one of the saddest things I've ever heard, crossy...really.
one time i saved it all until the last 5 days of the month.worked well..i think..so they tell me..well i am sure it is all in the police reports anyways:))
LOL and can too easily relate!
In honor of the season I am now marathon watching the TV series "Supernatural." Not bad...scary. And that adorable Jard Padelecki from Gilmore Girls is in it...ah, yes, I remember guys like him...sigh.
Meant Jared...
This grid is very tough. Blech.
agreed,this b---H has teeth.long sharp ones
and the tide has turned... sigh.
No kidding...I went away for awhile and came back to see if it was any better than I thought...nope...still awful. Going away again. See you tomorrow. Hugs all around. Hang in there, crossy.
tc,mimi
That tide that turned has turned into a riptide
shhhhh
there is still a lot of time...
*Puts on rose colored glasses*
oh, we have a matching pair!
going to go fold laundry that has been waiting for close to a week...
http://bit.ly/1hlxZeO is a photo I took on Saturday night - when about to help with the fire containment
Wow, scary looking stuff.
You are a brave one, Lickety.
scary indeed!
I am heart broken
Phan, go back to folding clothes. It's just gotten worse.
I know. I saw. I am done folding clothes.
If I thought Washington had a clue as to how to pull off a Hail Mary and a last minute drive, I would remain hopeful. Alas, there is no joy in mudville.
well, that was an amazing interception by D. Hall.
there are too many scores needed for a miracle right now.
Oh, someone smarter than I am could rattle off how it's possible.
Hi all :)
Hi Liz
They would need 3 scores and there is only 3 mins left
Baseball? Football?
football
Which teams?
And who are you supporting?
Full of questions this am!
Washington vs. Denver. I am a WAshington fan.
And I guess the score's not gone your way :(
I am a Washington and a Denver fan, but my heart belongs to Washington.
now we would need 4 scores!
Good luck!
oh, there is no luck to have
Hey, there is still over 2 minutes left. Denver could break 50 points again.
well, that certainly is possible!
Anything to keep Denver in contention with Kansas City (dodges flying frying pans from Bea)
Better luck next time! Lots of points in one score. My soccer team won an amazing victory a couple of weeks ago with a goal in the final seconds of 4 minutes of injury time, so not impossible to win!
My bro was in Washington and found a group of supporters to watch that match with - strange experience apparently!
fun!
That's a UK team, of course.
hi all!
hi!
Hi Sue :)
hi phan and liz!
Haven't seen you for a while. How are things with you and Frank?
Hello sue
very good! He is pretty much recovered from the chemo, and no signs of cancer on his scans. He'll have another scan in a month or so.
hi wv!
That's really good news. Hope the next scan is just as good.
yes, we are certainly hoping that too!!
glad to hear the good news, sue. Praying you get more postive new in the future.
thanks, phan!
Excellent Sue. Your clan is long overdue for the good stuff. Hope it continues.
thanks, molly!
Down to 5. What a struggle.
I am half way but still don't have nbt or nbs.
Very happy to see lickety, when I logged on this am.
yes, I just switched to expert and expect to fill in a lot of blanks quickly
Whoo hoo!! LIckety....AND lizlin, uusue and molly :)
I would like to encourage lickety to switch to macs! Then I could use expert!
hi jill!
Hi Jilly. How was your trip to Vancouver?
Fabulous!!! Beautiful area, touching wedding, family fun and anniversary trip to Victoria wonderful!!
Sounds wonderful. I loved Vancouver and Victoria.
And of course, the wedding was the added bonus!
We had so much fun with my brother in law and his now spouse Kevin.
That's awesome! I'm sure that fact that you were there also helped make their day special.
Hubby and me and one cousin and her hubby were the only family able to make it. Very low key wedding, very untraditional, but food and fun at the Vancouver Fairmont Hotel...what can I say...
Isn't the Fairmont jaw-dropping?
We stayed there - part of our posh trip!
Fireworks!
We did the Empress in Victoria for one night. In Vancouver we stayed at theh Blue Horizon...good price, great rooms and location.
WooT WooT WooT lizlin!!
Also stayed at the Empress! Loved it - once they changed our room. First room right above 8 noisy outside air conditioning units!
Funny though, I guess because they're older hotels, internet reception was rubbish at both those hotels.
Our only complaint!
Is it too early to offer any clues to anyone?
Good time for us to go, there was a special on their Tea and Gardens package. Plus they did a free upgrade to a king room with a bay view
Sounds lovely.
Convenient to have a wedding then!
I have soup on, so here for just a few minutes, then to finish soup
Yes it was and the weather unseasonably warm and dry!!
Love the icon! Funny!
We had that sort of weather throughout our trip. No rain in the whole month. So lucky!
Apparently, Lickety has been off fighting fires this weekend. He posted a picture earlier in chat, if anyone is interested.
Saw that picture - awesome. Such admiration for fire fighters.
Interesting icon, Molly!
Will have to scroll thru chat later. I think he is probably having a tough time these days..
Don't have to scroll back too far for that pic. Lickety's only been here for an hour or so.
Whoops, there goes the timer, off to shred chicken..bbl...nice chatting lizlin!
I have heard of paper shredders but not chicken shredders
Hi Ru - have a good evening. Hope you enjoyed your bistro meal! Catch you later.
Huh? Who is having a tough time? Lickety? He seems pretty happy to me.

click on the tiny green link at the bottom for Lickety's Babble Clues
I lose babble when clues come up, but thanks
can you tile the windows?
I'll try
well, i'm off, have the fun y'all
no, can have one or the other, not both
thanks Gwen
you can open another browser and then resize the windows to see both lickety and babble...i do it...
you can't lose your words in the babble window....they will come back if you accidentally close the window...
thanks penquis, that works, at least I now have both open, individually
yw....i do it so i can see both...but beware, if you close your lickety window, you may not be able to get your words back (like you can if you close the babble window)...
thankyou
you can also transfer all your babble words to lickety....cut and paste using the "Grab" feature on lickety...
yw
should have said copy and paste
thanks
