lol you are trying to keep her here. As soon as she notices, she will be able to walk away ;)
:)
maybe I am just getting too transparent in my evil machinations
yeah... that is never a good thing... evil machinations should be devious.
yeeaa, dats da ticket, sneeeaaakkkkyyy like
lolol
so how is life in the tulip fields
all dead by now, I think
painless halfway with all the Ks accounted for.
so, some what grimm, getting a o-o eye point of view
just the natural way of life... tulips bloom in spring. Not much left in autumn. And I am luckier than o-o. For me, medication and therapy is working.
you are naturally a much happier person than o-o, of course all living beings are
most likely because I didn't have to live through the horrible things he had to.
I don't know his story. but I know some of yours, and you allways, allways, are concerned about others
wanna guess which word was my very first today?
joso, so is o-o. He spends a lot of his time being there for people in mental and emotional need. Please don't be quick to judge.
i don't think your favorite word is here tonight
no, it isn't. But I came close.
ok, i'll give him some more rope
Hi Sprite & Joso
please do. As Haz said recently, he has never made a secret of his mental issues, he has been part of babble for a very long time and within his possibilities, he does what he can for others. There are quite a few 'happier' babblers I cannot say the same things about.
so what was your start tonight
hiya lyn :) xxx
And hello from me as well.
sp5/14 and plural of course ;)
hi lynxxx
hey haz
hi Haz :) Did your ears burn?
Kind of!
Good morning Haz
I was just about to sign in anyway.
:) All good, I promise.
Hello, lynxx, good to see you.
I keep checking out your photos Haz to see idyllic picures of your holiday - ???
I was just going to agree with you. o-o might be a self-confessed curmudgeon and he might be a bit unfiltered at times but he's OUR curmudgeon.
Oh, lynxx, I have to confess that we didn't take many pictures. I should load up the few that we did take.
I hope you had a lovely time, Haz
We did, it was so pretty (Lake Garda).
terrific . You had a good time? I googled the area and it looked wonderful
am glad :)
We've been several times before and have always enjoyed it. Verona is the nearest city and it's very walkable.
sounds very nice haz
It's very easy to visit the other towns on the lake either by bus or by ferry. Or you can just sit in a cafe and watch the comings and goings.
sounds like a perfect holiday
and how did the young man enjoy his 'holiday'?
Dempsey was at a local boarding kennels and he was fine. He's great with other dogs so it seems to have suited him.
good, that makes it all easier.
It's funny, you always have the fear that the dog will be different when you come back but he was just the same as ever. The people who run the boarding kennels also do his grooming so he was booked in for his cut and blow dry at the same time and emerged looking wonderful.
lots of 'almost' words in this grid
yeah. We are definitely one E short.
probably wondering why it took so long to get his haircut this time
I know! It would be interesting to know their thought processes.
lol... oh I can picture it. Those question ma5 over his head, looking at the people and thinking: you were way faster last time...
next time he goes in for grooming he'll be expecting you to pack his overnight bag
Husband keeps reassuring me that dogs live in the moment and have no sense of time. I think he just tells me that to make me feel better.
Talking of overnight bags, I have a friend who has discovered a mouse in her house. She's terrified and announced to her husband, semi-jokingly, that they should move to a hotel until the thing was caught. She later found her 4 year-old had packed her little bag with pants and vest and pyjamas.
Terra definitely seems to know when it is time for dinner
awwww that is so sweet!
It just shows how much children listen in!
very cute
they do. We have a dutch saying that goes something like: little pots have big ea4.
not only a dutch saying
ah nice :) Always fun to see which sayings are the same in both languages
Speaking of language.... The air here is blue. The last working hair dryer in this house just gave up the ghost. I have a big meeting this morning...i hope the Bed-head look is acceptable... :-(
aw poor Soodle *hugs* Go for fashionably messy
Hello, Soodle. I reckon anything goes these days.
or creative headscarves?
Delete the 'fashionably' & you have me...
You don't have any neighbours with suitable wigs?
Gosh Lynn, I wouldn't know where to start with a scarf!
Although I'd draw the line at some of those toupees.
My daughter has a very blonde wig left over after Halloween. I wonder......
There you go - problem solved.
google 14 Headwraps
(although I would kill to look like that young lady)
If you killed her, you could practise the headwraps in jail. Plenty of time on your hands...
You know when I was having chemo I lost amost of my hair...I have since found out no-one noticed (even husband and kids - let alone work friends) ...and strangely no-one commented on the headscarves I was wearing everyday for about 3 months.
..not even...
I was wondering if the headscarf idea was because you had resorted to them when you were ill.
no - my daughter had stumbed accross that clip recently
Thanks for the tip Lynn. But I'm going to take the lazy way out. I'll pop in for a wash n blow dry en route to Dublin. Unexpected expense, but justified in the circumstances.
Job interview?
If you need the confidence, go for it, Soodle.
absolutely. If you feel your hair looks good, you feel better
No, just a meeting with some pretty intimidating people. I'm a craven coward at the best of times, but with bad hair, I'd be a pushover!
wow lyn... so many styles and the lady looks beautiful in all of them. How odd that people didn't notice you losing your hair. You must have been looking pretty with the shawls.
Nobody can do the back of your hair like a hairdresser so for all round confidence you're right to go that route.
I owe, I owe, so it's off to work I go! Have a great day/evening all. Bye.
I know you will have a successful meeting Soodle so enjoy the day
Bye, Soodle, hope today goes well.
good luck today, Soodle.
I am off too, must take the car to the garage. I hope it starts! back later. Bye all, have a lovely day/peaceful evening. *hugs*
Bye, sprite. All the best with the car.
Bye Sprite - hope it a cheap fix
Goooooooooood morning fellow Babblers xx Could somebody kindly tell me how many words today please? xx
346 Worzel
346 worzel
ty haz xx
and ty lyn xx
And good morning to you.
Going to take a break for a bit - nice grid
It is! I'm heading off as well but it was nice to see you. I'll try to get some photos up soon.
bye you two see you soon xx have good days xx
You too,, worzel.
May I please have a clue for al6-30? Thanks
Haven't got that one yet xx Good morning peach xx
Is Soodle still here? I wanted to say "Hi".
Good morning, worzel. You doing alright tonight?
Not so bad, still in bed recovering from an op, but this game really keeps me going! Half way through, and only been playing about 30 mins - being as I'm quite bad at this game I think that's good going lol. How are you? xx
I'm dealing with the cold weather....my joints just don't like it. Otherwise, I'm OK. How long do you think you will have to stay quiet for the recovery?
To be fair I've had a gangrenpous appendix removed - about 2 weeks ago. Been up and about on the odd occasion but still got a bit of discomfort. Got an open wound because they had to go in via my tummy which was poisoned and have an open wound but should be perfect within next 6 weeks, fingers crossed. Hope the cold isn't too bad for you xx
haha you've got me going now - can't stop looking for the flipping al6/30!!!!
Oh, my dear! What a bummer. But you got there in time and that is what matters. I had mine removed when I had the hysterectomy.....doctor asked if I'd ever had an attack and I said "no"....he then said mine was scarred so I had to have had an attack at some time. I'm so glad you are on your way to good health.
tyvm peach. What part of US are you in? Im in northern UK x
I live in Augusta, GA....about 3 hours south of Atlanta.
GA is Georgia isn't it?
I think that al6 may start with alk.....I'm looking at the dictionary. Oh, yes, it is Georgia.
See, my knowledge of US areas is quite poor - I thought Georgia was always warm lol. Always think of South US as warm, but I guess all areas have their cold spells. Have only been to Florida and NY both in summertime. Would love to visit Georgia though - and Texas, and, obviously, do the whole Route 66 thing (before i get too old!!)
worsel, it really isn't all that cold now.....supposed to freeze tonight, but usually it doesn't get as cold as New England. I lived in the north for 7 years and thought I'd never get through the first winter....am so glad to be back south.
Peach you are correct with what the first three AL6 start with then add i am not dead but still ***ve.
We never seem to get it too bad in UK either, usually around end of December through to end of March we have a winter of sorts - usually around zero at night, bit of snow on occasion, some frosts, but nothing compared to some countries - but still we moan lol.
Then single plural for AL7...then add double pural for the AL9
Oh, thanks so much, zoozaoom.
oh good grief thanks zoo lol that is SUCH an obvious word, too!!!!
You are welcome :-)
worsel, zoozzoom just gave us the clues. Do you have them?
Although it is thanks to you twoo as wel...as i did not look for it untill you asked for it..lol
yea just spotted clues and got answers lol. I'll see u all in about 10 mins - off to make cup of tea xx have fun and behave!! xx
Just made my cup of tea *Sllllurrrp* Ahh!
Tea just seems to make things better, doesn't it?
Sure does, Peach, It sure does :-)
good morning everybody
gloomy and cold
Hello, Ruby :-)
Good morning, Ruby.
Blue sky but chilly 6.2c at the moment.
at least the studio is warm
That is good to hear, Ruby :-)
how cold does it get at night, zzoozz. Here it is about 4C at 11PM when I take the pups out
It is about the same, Ruby, so not too bad.
Although i do hate the cold weather with a passion :-)
there are still many flowers
back again, cuppa by bedside!
My fuchsias still have many flowers on them.
Any biscuits to go with it, Worzel :-)
No Zoo, may have some toast and Marmite in a bit. We have quite cold weather here in Liverpool, too but still loads of flowers in the garden! We even have a tomato plant growing!!
hi worzel, sorry to hear about your appendix but glad that it was caught in time
Hi Ruby and ty. Yes, I was in pain for abt 4 days centre of my tummy - I thought it was trapped wind. I guess I was lucky really
OMG! i love marmite on buttered toast yum yum.
Wow, zooz, they surely are hardy.
I'll send some toast and Marmite over to you zoo lol
Have been lucky so far, Peach, No frost..when that happens that will be the end of them..i bought about 20 plants this year some are hardy and others are not..i cannot remember which ones are the hardy ones..lol
Teehee cheers, Worzel..although it would be easier for me just to make my own..lol
Zoo I was checking the Liverpool weather online last night - apparently next Wednesday the daytime high will be 5 degrees!!! Yikes, here comes winter!!!
I think the ones with the extra large flower heads are the non hardy ones.
Not god news...i hope it does not sink down to here..lol
good*
what part you in zoo?
do you have te Gulf Stream near you zzoozz?
It is on my icon, Worzel, But it is the Isle of Wight.
Better get your woolies out for sure.
Yes, Ruby, Thats what stops us getting extreme cold weather.
zooz, is that where the Bee-Gees lived?
yeah sorry Zoo just checked that. Went to the IOW when I was 5 during the heatwave of 76 and again in 2003 (another hot summer). It is SO beautiful there I just didn't want to come home!
we are at the mercy of the mountains
76 wow i remember that heatwave...i was a teenager then..and lived in Oxford at that time too.
Not been to Oxford - been to Thame, nearby. Another beautiful part of UK. Id love to see the scenery around the world, but we are blessed in the UK if we did but know it!!
I remember you saying, Ruby, Must always be cold in the winter up there..i recall you saying there is snow lying above you further up the mountains too..yuk.
but it's much warmer and there's much less snow than 15 yrs ago when we moved here
I think one of the Bee Es does live in or near Oxford, Yes, Peach, i am sure of it.
Gees..bloody keypad.
Zoo you're talking about Robin - that was why I went to Thame as I knew him and was visiting him and his wife Dwina!!
Barry is the only one left.....he is still touring....has a home in Florida too. I really admire him.....it has been so rough for him.
Yes that's right, Worzel, wow did not know you knew them.
one of the bee gees lived next to my husband in Miami Beach before we were married, but he had never heard of them!!
I agree, Peach, it does not seem that long ago when they al started out...i do not remember that bit as i am too young..but time does fly by too quickly.
Well, I didn't know them all, but was in Thame many years ago and walked past this beautiful house and Robin was in the garden. Have been a fan all my life and couldn't help but stop and talk and he invited me in for a cup of tea! We exchanged xmas cards each year and I asked if i could visit him again one day and he invited me around! A beautiful man, very sadly missed
that is a lovely story, worzel
I've really enjoyed chatting with you all, but I need to try to get some sleep. It's 5:30AM here. Hope to see you all again later in the day.
That is very nice, Worzel, It is nice to know fame did not swell his head.
sweet dreams peach
Hope you have a sweet sleep, Peach, Nice chatting to you too :-)
yes, i was very lucky to get to know him a bit. Just wish I'd met the other two! And Andy, of course - he was beautiful too, but very screwed up sadly. NN peach and sweet dreams xx
It seems to be true when they say all the best ones seem to dye young...i will live till about 150 years then...lol
die*
My spelling is very bad today.
well if that's the case i'll probably live forever!!!
I am determind to live to 100 haha
so am i - we'll send each other a telegram lmao!!
Just 50 years and three months to go :-)
ooh, half and nbt, but no big words
will have to come back
57 1/2 for me! Mind you, after the last few weeks i already feel 100
Yes the card given by the queen will then be a card from the king.
how many in the longest word today please? xx
Good going, Ruby!
10
10x1
or should i say 1x10
i dunno, zoom - she seems to be determined to live forever herself, bless her! Imagine that - if she's still alive when im 100 she'll be 143 - you never know!!!
The way science is advancing medicines and potions..you could just well be right..lol
athere are 132 4s : 128 5s : 61 6s : 18 7s : 3 8s : 3 9s : 1x10
go on then, let's have a clue for the 10 xx
No idea here, Worzel, Sorry.
ok thanks anyway. i keep getting red boxes so if i'm not talking or responding for a while you'll know i'm not just being ignorant!! xx
Sorry to hear that..i do not mind when it goes quiet as it is a largish grid and know people are concentrating on finding words.
fo 10/98 ... the process of taking what is casual and making it proper
well that's confused me o-o lol - is it an re word?
eek sorry just noticed u put fo lol
Ahh thank you, o-o
oooo got it - ty 0-0 xx
rite, i'm going for a quick smoke and i'll be back soon. have fun, kids and behave!! xx

346
thanks crosshair
getting closer then
there we go.pictures of my better half are on my facebook wall for all those who wish to see her
hi all
Good day to all.
hi scrab
Hi joso. I was in Canada 2 weeks ago, hiking in the Niagara Gorge and then lunch at Niagara-on-the-Lake.
nice area to be in
I honeymooned at Niagara on the lake
Yes, we hiked right down to the river, and we were just north of the falls, and it was stunning.
they are something to see
TK lives in the area, I wonder if the views are ho hum to her
I live outside of Buffalo and grew up here. EVERY time I see the Falls I am amazed. In fact, I am more interested in the geology and history more now.
I find our history kind of dull. war of 1812 was really small potatoes, the revolutionary war almost a comedy of errors, 90% by the British. your civil war is interesting, but kind of done to death. WW I & II are interesting, but fought elsewhere. I'd like to know more about the native history, but available information is so sketchy
long stretches of peace make a great place to live, but a dull story
I work at a Seneca Nation Health Center one day weekly and have learned a lot. It is like going on a field trip every week when I go to the reservation.
Some folks here have relatives at the Six Nations Reservation in Ontario.
I would love to know more about the six nations federation and how it worked, but the most detailed info is about their dealings with Europeans, and it's a depressing story.
Yes, the Native North Americans were certainly squashed by invading Europeans.
And I must get ready for work. Enjoy the day.
and they often worked with us, only to be betrayed latter on, so sad.
have a good day scrab
joso, one of our babbler, carlee, specialized in first nation culture and history as part of the teaching degree she just finished.you should chat with her sometime
but always remember.history is often skewed as it is almost always written by the victors :(
true, and there is more to history than just the wars. but if you look at the Napoleonic wars you can determine what each nation was doing and why, but you look at the Aztecs and the details are lost.
wow aquick grid so far, not even 290minutes and i have 182.
good morning all
so a bit more than half in a bit less than 5 hours
have NBT and none of the big words
same here
must runm the roofers are here, oh joy
I have to be off too, any clues wanted before I go
stats for an 8, 9, or 10
al 7-44, 8-60, 9-78
fo 9-78, 10-98, 9-78
thx joso - will look
fo 7-44, 8-60, 7-44
wa 4-8, 8-60, 5-18
all those grouping are words related to each other as you might suspect.
got the WA combo
food without carne is not a word?
I still claim that format6/30 + le4/4 is totally a word
you may be right, makes no difference to enable
I guess a grid with so many words that enable will disallow whatever it will
enable does what enable wants to do
adios all, happy babbling *poof*
hagd joso
bye joso
and yes, kaplan, I think the food without carne is totally a word
yeah, but it would have to have enough e's. It doesn't
hah, that's right
now I'm getting crosseyed
I realize after careful examination of the grid
hi all. any clue for the 10?
hi all, back for the last few
fo10/98.....makes more organised
British suffix
thanks, dc
yw
ty dc. trying to find it.
i got a 7/8 but not getting the 10.........
Make the fo6 into a verb but use British endings.
hi Haz :)
And good morning/afternoon all.
Use same first 5 letters
hi haz
got the 9/10! ty ty ty
Hello, nice size of grid today.
Haz, just wanted you to know that Zoe-Anne went to Rainbow Bridge yesterday.
it certainly is.
another 9 after the 10
Oh, I'm sorry, peri. It must have been hard for you.
it was but I could see that she was suffering.
Well, for most people that is the signal that the time has come to let go.
fireflies. Bye all. *hugs* for peri.
Congratulations, sprite.
almost half way guys.
congrats sprite
oh peri, i was afraid that would be what would happen based on what you said. i'm so sorry for your loss. *hugs*
thanks, hurshy. I am missing her terribly.
i can imagine
I'm really sorry, peri. Take care of yourself.
on the other end of the spectrum, one of my friends is in labor now - she was supposed to be induced starting about an hour and 20 mins ago
bl
(((peri)))
good luck to your friend, hurshy!
how does it go? in the midst of life, we are in death
thanks mael. i hope it goes well. i just looked up to see and found a study saying that induced labors take much longer on average. :(
why are they inducing her? is she overdue or is there another medical reason?
she was only due 8 days ago so *i* think that wouldn't be enough reason but modern doctors... but then i guess also she started having contractions last night, and i don't know if they aren't progressing, or what. or maybe they started after the decision to induce and maybe that will mean they don't have to do as much to her after all. guess i'll find out after it is over.
I'm mostly curious cause it's my turn in four months and change and labor fr6/39 me out :)
halfway, NBT and NBS - time to go out for the morning - BBL this afternoon
well, me, for someone who hasn't had kids and doesn't really plan to, i've actually read a lot about it. and the US doesn't have the best track record. so i have read about what the better ones do differently and so forth (europe). and it seems to me that if i were having a baby i would insist upon not being messed with before 2 weeks overdue.
i mean unless something was like, really wrong with the baby or something and they had to get it out. but not in a like, hey, why isn't it out yet situation.
in most normal situations seems like midwives are really a better way to go than doctors. doctors overreact and overtreat.
I agree with you, hurshy.
mael, just talk with your ob and have a birth plan.
I plan too, I'm just not the kind of person who deals very well with uncontrollable situations. Welcome to parenthood for me, I guess! ;)
i have one friend with 4 daughters who says her "birth plans" all went out the window, so yeah, uncontrollable is the name of the game
I was just going to say, have a birth plan but be prepared to be adaptable according to circumstances.
As a parent, you will get better with dealing with uncontrollable situations.
hi haz!
oh yeah, definitely no plans to stick to "the plan," as long as baby shows up safe I'll be okay with them doing whatever they need to do.
Hello, TO!
My daughter's birth plan was very simple.
i am having a new roof, and here i sit on the second floor with banging and footsteps.
but mael, also know that my sister had a plan and it went beautifully according to plan, had very short labors, including the first, after which she said, "i've had headaches worse than that!" - so, you may get that!
oh, conrats mael and hoping it goes as you plan.
ps no, she's not even a migraine sufferer
Why is every word I am entering already entered? Too many words hiding in this one.
but yay for a big grid!
thanks, TO! we're excited
do you know if it is a boy or a girl?
*is reduced to trying C words with a K instead... like Karpet*
Not such a bad move, hurshy.
i keep typing armless
ooh that just got me an ar7, thanks TO
oh now you share
ar7 - when the paintings are missing
what haz said
nm i think i have it
haz, i have been meaning to email you, thinkgs are crazy here.
I can imagine, TO, if you're getting a new roof on.
what kind of roof is it
well, ingeneral. not today.today is a piece of cake comparatively. and the roof is a one day job, small house.
a black rood, architectural shingles. normal stuff
i have a secret desire to live in a house with a non-normal roof.
spanish tile, or thatch!
Good morning, loves. How is everyone?
why haz - don't you live in a little fairy cottage with a thatched roof?
There's a fabulous house near here, modern, but with a thatched roof. It's spectacular.
sod ... so you grow veggies too
we vary, judi. peri had to put her cat to sleep yesterday :(
oh yeah, an underground house would be GREAT - so efficient energy wise - warm in winter cool in summer so easily
Oh, sad news, Peri. (((((hugs)))))
No, my cottage is distinctly not thatched, nor is it really a cottage. Newly thatched looks wonderful.
oops - they are really ba ning around now. must go check knick knack shelf
oops - they are really ba ning around now. must go check knick knack shelf

hurshy, re: boy or girl, we're waiting for the surprise? :)
Good for you, mael.
also it'll stop my in laws from buying me oceans of pink and blue stuff preemptively. I can do nothing after baby is born, but I can try to mitigate it before hand :)
well if you pick colors, and say, these are the colors, won't that also? like, we're going with yellow and red, no matter what, or whatever.
Must get back to my chores...bbl...pfft!
tr + a bactrian c****; pl
nope, that would be magical. But my mother in law is a PINK AND PURPLE ONLY for girls kind of person, so it'll be a fight
Which reminds me... IT'S HUMP DAY!
o-o, sometimes I surprise myself. I knew what a bactrian c**** was. haha.
that is annoying, mael. re: m-i-l.
Haz, has hubby ever administered to a bactrian?
mael, let the child wear pink with a blue cap or vice versa--confuse everybody. My first was a student midwife in England, perfect delivery. 2nd was charity at Boston Lying in, they knocked me out and I never knew what happened. I think forceps--but she was fine. third, Grace New Haven, natural, no anasthetic. Fine. Fourth, cleveland, no anesthetic, fine. All girls, all fine. All beautiful. And I felt great afterward--could do it all over again right away had I had to!
Not as far as I know.
The vets do sweat a bit when the circus is in town lest they be called upon to visit a poorly elephant or something.
And he is booked again to examine Santa's reindeer when they come to town. They have to be examined before they're sent back to Scotland having done their tour of the local town centres.
Gotta get to work. I'm birthing books these days, harder work. Grid too big and tempting. Peri, my cats lived to 21, but what a wrench to lose them. So, sorrow.
Wow. Impressive.
It's basically to make sure that they're healthy for travelling.
and mael, once they're here, it's predictably unpredictable from then on. Even when they're adults!!
really getting to work now. babble is too tempting. poof.
o-o need more help on the tr 8 clue please
form
yay Roundbarn, congrats on your girls!
and I will definitely buy gender-opposite stuff for my kid, I'm contrary and stubborn like that :)
you do have to watch those elephants. i read about a man who DIED after a constipated elephant who had been treated finally ... let it go ... and he suffocated in the dung. NOT anyone's choice of how to die.
No, that would have to be the understatement of the year.
i mean i love elephants and all but...
Baby elephants are delightful.
they are cute, aren't they?!
They really are. We saw lots in Kenya and Tanzania and they are so endearing.

The weather is so beautiful now.....but very cool. We had frost last night. Covered most of the plants.

Hi all. Rough, rough day. Don't want to discuss it. Just happy to be here mindlessly babbling along
Hello, everyone! I had to make an emergency trip to my cardiologist...I am officially back in afib and was out of breath just walking from couch to kitchen and feeling like I was going to pass out even sitting. So....back on medications...unhappy...but alive.
I worked a little on transferring written music to my ipad so I can use it for orchestra. Everytime I use the scan, load, etc program I learn more (that means I make lots of mistakes.)
Do or take whatever you need to. Don't fight it. Just feel better
Good for you mimicat. Glad you took care of yourself!!

Oh, MimiCat, I'm so sorry to hear that.
(Mimi)
He said I'd be risking a stroke if it continued, so must take the dreaded medications.
I shall wander off now and be back tomorrow to catch up on your news and reflections. Au revoir.
((crossy)) We're both not our best today!
Bye, stid..have a good evening.
Plese do not skip any meds, mimi
He had taken me off several and I kind of gradually stopped a couple more. Guess I can't do that again.
I hope it can be as painless as possible for you.
With my twisted brain, all I could envision was me having a stroke, dying and my 3 cats having to eat me!! Yeah...like I said...twisted.
Thanks, Volta, dear. It doesn't really hurt at this stage but it's very disconcerting to literally feel your heart pounding in your chest and feeling like you may lose consciousness at any time.
Only stop meds if dr says.bad mimi:-(
That sounds like a horrible feeling :-( *hug* let's all keep our fingers crossed for the best possible outcome
This one he put me back one is one he said was OK for me to stop and it makes me dizzy....hate that. Well, now I know I must keep taking these.
I want you in here for many more years mimi
Thank you, crossy, dear...that goes both ways.

Thought I could hang in here a bit longer but the meds are making me very tired and a bit sleepy, so leaving for tonight. Hugs all around.

Liz,i am told that the ausse flag and the taz flag differ by just a single star. Do we have a taz player in babble?
Howdy,joso
hi liz
Not the Taz flag. Taz is part of Aus. The NZ flag doesn't have the commonwealth star under the Union Flag and its stars are red, not white. See! I remember something from my citizenship test last Jan!!!
Hi Joso
Ahh.ty for clarification.was curious
it's ausy and kiwi flags crossy, the star under the union jack is missing on the new zeland flag
NP
Ah.ok.got it
And apparently the Tassies are like the Newfies!
Or so they say!
We love our newfies
I know that - otherwise there wouldn't be the humour!

20 words left here and getting frustrated cos I know I'm missing a really simple one here!
happy to clue if you wish liz
Well,with just 20 togo,i would list
Perhaps! I might come back to it. I have just listed. That's how I know it's a simple one I'm missing! I've enjoyed this grid so far.
How many times though, have I tried words with 2 x e in them!
1 left tm? Bueller? Bueller?
nm got itr
I found i desperately wanted an e beside the k
Yes - and the other side of the m.

In 1726, Mary Toft convinced British doctors that she was giving birth to rabbits.
Explain!
maybe she had a wild hare :D
look it up
hi folks!
I will - after I've got my final 7 words.
Hi welki :)
I just did crosey, what a laugh riot. wrecked the careers of some doctors of the time, incredible what you can sell people on.
guess the had the hare of the rabbit that bit her
hey welk
I think you meant "she" had Sweetheart. Hello all.
hi, elegant - greetings from calgary!
howdy,my beloved
elegant, so good to see you
Hi Elegant - have heard so much about you from Crossy. Glad to finally meet you. Also saw the lovely pic from your anniversary :)
ahh yes,the R.M.S Segwun.it was an amazing time
i have talked about all you babblers so much of late that my beloved has been trying to be in here more often
I was reading all the very sweet comments. It was a wonderful night, spent with a wonderful man
you might not be able to discern it, but I've made my icon the fine picture you took elegant
yes,ty ,joso she took a nice picture of all of us
That pic has made a lot of people happy - so good to put faces to names.
the photos were great, glad it all worked out so beautifully! the two of you remind me of my husband and me - would rather be together than any place else

woohoo!!!
I likely won't reach them tonight... going out in about 30 and still have over a hundred left
hi welk
congrats liz

It was good to have an easy grid - even if large for me - after some of the recent ones.
at 70 and hit a wall
what does the 9-10 combo start with (hoping they are a combo)
hey liz... we're just about ready to gather ourselves to go... just wanna say bye... and we'll see you next year...
See you next year Ro - and as I wrote on FB - bon voyage and safe journey - from both of us :)
Hugs to Bec too, please.

fo 4
of course... i really want to get home to talk with her..skype is good when theres nothing else but..
Absolutely and I'm sure if there's anything we need to know ...
She sounded more upbeat in a recent email
Do you need more of a clue wvt?
giving stats for kje
Ah - missed that!
ah, ty wv... will look
11 words come from that fo 4
ty!
now just 58 4, 5, 6, and 7 letter words to go ; )
Go kje - you can do it!
ha! not fast enough!
have a hot date ; )
Sure you can! Confidence! And def enjoy the date!

ohh. nothing like a hot date
If the date's that good, will understand the need to complete a grid!
it will be good... I have fallen
That's awesome.
love when I just type junk in and its a word

yes kje is just too hot
Any clues before I go?

hi wht
Hi Crossy. Good picture in joso's icon
yes,it was a good get together
Good picture of all of you, actually
It looks like you had fun.
a good time was had by all.Flosey kept us in line
she was such a perfect lady that for a moment i reverted to old school and kissed her hand when introduced
hi, 295 to go
You were always the gentleman, Crossy.
291 done.
This has been a fun grid so far.
the big ones are always fun, until the end
This grid is raising questions for me. Like is a pr6,24 like a fo7,44?
kr6?
the only other woman's hand i have ever kissed would of been my own mothers and that was when i last saw her in 1972 and she passed in 1991 just before she could meet my future wife.
ahh,remenising...
kr6, german spelling of a moon feature
kr6 is a misspelled hole in the ground
ty joso
thanks
well,i may have kissed my beloveds hand once or twice during coutship
courtship*
I just had my hand kissed by a nightclub singer
very cool;))
May I please have a clue for pr6-24? Thanks
pr6, gear up for battle
Thanks, joso. I know that I'm looking at it, but I can't see it yet.
ar3 - get weapons. re5 get them again. pr6 get them early
evening all!
Thanks so much, joso and dan.
the first fo7? i know the first 4 letters....
I just always feel so stupid when I get something so obvious. Thanks, guys.
also ends like the previous clues
thanks
It could be a synonym for pr6 but it isn't
it is just babble blindness, gapeach. nothing to worry about.we all get the tougher words and the easy ones just sail right on by
Indeed, crossy.
i'd like to get half way before dinner...sigh
well,i am just coming up to half way and it is almost bed timere here
ma5-20 the 1st please....thanks....down to 6.
Change the second vowel of someone who builds something
ma5, ma + german spelling of automobile
Thanks much, wht and joso.
poor flosey. she looks so tiny in the midst of all hat beef:)
that
well protected buy her personal bruisers, lol
yup.no one will get near our lass
you look like two math teachers instead of bruisers :D
compared to flosey, everyone looks like a bruiser
Fireworks
lol.. bet that's true
Congrats, wht!!!!!!
lol, that is funny.i am so far from a math teacher that it takes the light from a math teacher 2 years just to get to me; besides i have learned to love to sonic boom sound of a math question as it passes by me
congrats wht
as it passes over my head*
yaa for wht!!
pe5,6 between the shampoo and the kitty cat?
FW: last word was first ar5,10 - I feel like one.
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
when i look at a math question,it looks like this: "if a triange is thrown out of a car window and it is doing 20 mph,how many elephants does it take to wake up the meercats? hint: the triangle is grren
congrats jim
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
Congrats, jimmel!!!!!!
howdy,min!!
Hey ya'll, I was hoping someone had Tm 6/21 -- my last word! I'm completely stumped.
Hi there, Min.
green
tm+ vowel+ not brother
hi min
it ends with the oppsiti of bro, miliss
the last pe5?
Gave up after finding 201 words. Wanted to say hi and bye
Bless you crosshair! That was driving me batty. Thanks also harpjane! Whew.
tc and have a good night, min
your very welcome
finally found all the m's.. this is tough
First big puzzle I've finished in a very long time, crosshair. I truly appreciate the help!
te5-10 the 3rd please.....thanks
:))
not to the t's yet ga sorry
te5, the electricity scientist
It's the scientist who has an electrical coil named after him, gapeach. Nicolai Te.
ty
Thanks much, joso and melissamay.
:)
the more you read about him,the more you learn how much credit was taken from him
it was just that Edison was better at marketing
re6-18 the 3rd please....thanks
the last si6?
It really is a sad story. I'm glad history caught up with him!
It is like to go to court again but drop the next to last vowel
yes, better inventor than Edison, who was no slouch, but not the businessman Edison was.
si6,18 would that be the gansta's female sibling?
yes, edison was better shmoozing with people, the press and selling the whole idea of it all
si s/18 is female sibling + cross letter + egyptian sun god.
si6, not bro + *** la la
thanks!
i still love the old spark gap lighting that was te5,s specialty and was still used in large factories even into the late 30,s and early 40,s
True, it's quite beautiful. I've only seen them in science museums.
they were quite practical for the time
154 to go, i can take a break now!
thanks for the help
and his coils are still required for a good Frankenstein set.
u imagine your child playing around a spark-gap light??!!
Thanks harpjane for your help too! :)
yes,his coils are all most people remember of him now:(
wht, I am having a hard time seeing the re6-18 the 3rd, can you dumb it down for me? Thanks
but ac electricity is his biggest contribution, so ubiquitous that we just take it for granted.
re6, re + *** *a la
Gapeach, think 5 letter word meaning vintage, but the last two letters are Mr. Gore's first name.
re + do you remember Mark ***i*'s comic strip in the Sunday paper? It was about nature.
al 6-7-8-9-pls?
Thanks much, wht, joso and melissamay/
Not acid, TO
very last word...st5-18 the last "st" word. Thanks
think ph ballance TO, not acidic but al.....
It is the final st5, ga
st5, what kids drink through
ty
OMG, thanks so much, wht and joso. I would not have gotten this one without the great clues. See y'all at the flip
Good night peach
night,peachy
g'night peach
hmm i've foundout that one must type in the words, it'snot enough to find them and THINK them into the game, apparently. ever look at a word you swearyou entered?
lol, yes. especially plurals
i swear it was at least four of them tonight
speech reconigtion capability would be great for babble!
Thought recognition is what it needs.
one of the things I love about lickety, don't have to go over every word looking for all the times I've typed in cat but only thought cats. they stand out like a sore thumb.
well, one can dream. i played today as if it were reality
I am always amazed at how many plurals I have missed when I finally bring up Lickety.
what I think would be cool is if words typed in chat were tested for the grid. open up the occasional accidental find.
Some people will do anything to stay out of the PB. :^)
:)
yes PB becomes lucky bonus time
you know yo have been babbling too long when you see stats for tm and type it right in
I noticed that too, TO.
Well, I need to be going now. Good evening all.
g'night whit
night wht
i would like to be put out of my misery pls for the tr5/18
nm, night all
hello all....can someone give me a clue for the tm word please?
tm + vowel + not bro
ty
i am done!
congrats pen
to drag something slowly behind a boat, TO
ty!
i think TO left a while ago...
ok
hi all. i have fo 9 and what are others and clues please?
al9
a chemical process
there are two fo9's
wow jane, i may need a further clue. dont know chemisty at all.
fo9 noun and fo9 verb
the opposite of acid?
al6 is the "basic" word in that series.
alkaline? not in grid
got the 9 and a 7. ty
(waiting for mkg's ah-ha moment....)
got the 6 too. ty.
ty ty
see below for ah ha
ra5/12?
now need other fo 9. need noun
ty. got the fo 9 but never saw that word before. wow. i just guessed. ty for clues jane
take pity on me and clue the ra5!
that ra. dont have it but guessing the M is in it or the P for the points. trying to get it.
ra5. ra + past tense of bump into someone
got re 5 12......but dont get ra word. hmmm
bump into someone 3 letters?
got it. ra + past tense for having lunch with someone: i arranged to meet the person at 1 pm so therefore, the next day i say we *** at 1 pm. past tense of meet.
2 people may arrange to ****, but past tense
plural is the 6
thanks
i thought of ram for the bump into someone in a negative way. as in to physically bump
i have fo 8 but need other two. any clues out there?
sorry i was not clear. i need clues for other two 8s other than the fo.
ty
fo 6,9,10,9,7 are all based on the same word, fo6, use rigorous mannors, a dress up occasion, a type of dance
ty joso. have those. just need the other two 8 letter words in grid besides the fo 8 which is another of those same first four letter words. i have a total of 9 words with those first 4 letters.
wa 4,8,5 a skin blemish
the 8 fo word is: opposite of con + husbands or wives are also usually soul*****.
ty got wa 8. super clue joso
i hope you got the fo 7/8 i clued. also leave off last vowel of the 7 and then this is a 6. then add plural for another 7
al 6,7,8,9, the non acid series
ty joso. had all al words but the 8. ty. got it now.
then you have all 3 8's
do you have 3 9's
these last 60 are really slowing down....
heh, their is a slowing toward the end
i still have a vazillion s's
a vazillion, that sounds like a lot
it seems like a lot
vazillion is more than a bizillion I guess
these things are too random, azillion should be smallest of the huge amounts, bizillion next, cazillion... in which case vazillion is really up there
hi all... it's a big one and i don't have much time to do it!
i should go to bed soon... i'm travelling a lot tomorrow!
well there is what we should do, and what we do.
haha
well i plan to leave my house at 6:30 in the morning, and it's 10:53 pm here
I should diet and exercise, however....
:P
39\
go harp go
all right, bedtime
i might get to work on this from the Atlanta airport tomorrow, as i have a layover there
goodnight!
g'night rows
27
I'm missing an re6, second to the last one. I know it's a fish, but would someone please help me?
harp if you want to get into heaven you have to re**** all temptations
thanks thanks thanks
I even went to a2z wordfinder and was stumped
finally finished! Thanks everyone!
