Have you decided what you are going to do with MIL room?
Ru I was lurking yesterday evening and seen where things got a bit touchy, felt bad for you and I didnt see anything bad in what was said on your part. Dont know if I trust that someone, which I dont know that well anyway
oh, yeah. they are going to be our new bedroom/sitting room (her old lounge room), with a dressing room(her old bedroom) and en-suite bathroom.
so very nice; that must be exciting
then we can take our time doing up our old bedroom and the lounge room.
which will be your permanent rooms?
are you going to expand your kitchen
yes dee, and pugs when we have done the other 2 rooms, then the kitchen. and we have ducted heating/cooling put in at the same time.
how many words are there tonight?
Hi Yv and 183
*giggle* we will have room to swing the cat AND the canary
sounds very exciting :) LOL
hey ya yvooria
thanks :)
sounds like a big mess to me--lol but will be nice when done
to right, pugs. am so looking forward to it. don and i try to put some time in everyday. even if it's only 1 hour, that is 1 hour less to be done.
you guys doing it all yourselfs
most of it, dear. i am still thinking about the kitchen. it's a huge job for just one man..and don isn't getting any younger.
183. Rather a fun grid....well, so far. How are you?
be nice while out doing your traveling you could have someone to do it all
great :) I see your namesake in the puzzle ;)
Aw, yeah.

HI there, pug. I'm OK. Hope all is well with you.

yep, all well here right now
Oh, you know what? I thought you were alluding to my little dog....the one in my phone.....I hadn't even seen the other. LOL
Peach, I also see your dear little dog
This is YOUR puzzle tonight ;)
I just about cried......I still miss him so much.
he was the westie, right? what did he do that you liked best?
night, dee. sleep well hun
hey pe5.
Rose , you and don staying home for the holiday
not much else we can do, sweetie. not with my requirements at the moment. how about you? do you get to have a day off?
Actually, he was a poodle-pom mix.....Philly was the Westie and along with them I had a long-haired chichu....I can't spell tonight. Her name was Bitsy. They saved my sanity though. I felt so lost when I came back here.....but now I have two more to adore.
Iam just staying home and fixing a small dinner here for us three
oh that's right
Here is the link to a beautiful rescue of a neglected dog. Have a lot of tissues handy when you watch this. It has given me a lot of joy to watch it.
Is the lad that will care of the babes coming over a little each day? Do they seem to like him?
I have to take sister to the doctors today so Iam hoping its a good turnout
care for the babes.
he's coming 2-3 times a day, seems eager to do so.. they liked him just fine.. but you know emma... barking and tail wagging at first... then just tail wagging... she's a piece of work :)
Oops forgot to type in the link: http://tinyurl.com/
what is the link
pp326bc
Well, you know, if we could figure out how to get them here......etc.
Sorry it is in two pieces cannot type
wouldn't that be fun :)
Hi bf, and thanks
Oh, yeah! I'd get to feeling better in a hurry. I think that's what I need.
http://tinyurl.com/pp326bc
Peach are you and YV related?
pugs, hope sister's visit goes well.
yeah me too
Not really, but it seems like we are.
would they listen if you said, ' just concentrate on my records of her BSL's. ' ?
I think so
Our paths crossed at the right time, so now that we're worlds away, we're still tight :)
i had a weepy moment today. among MIL's papers were photocopies of my beautiful friends obits. i broke down.
Yes, mam.
pe5 and yvooria, hold tight, you never know what is around the corner. love like there is no tomorrow.
reliving memories can do that--but its good to release
I think this time of the year people are more intune to those memories of lost ones too--I know I am
Thanks, Rose. We are like family.....well, she has a wonderful family and I like to think I'm on their "good" list.
i know this christmas is going to be hard. am concentrating on the children..
Peach is a very special lady, and we just click. Of course my family loves her too :)
That will, surely, help....Rose.
pe5, you are on everyone's "good" list.
You are a sweetie, Rose.
;-) at you, dear
yeah Rose is right, I think of you as your namesake here-a sweet peach
brb, need cold pack
cold pack of beer?
Oh, Yvooria, perhaps you could mention to the young lad (what is his name lol?) about watching on Jan. 3....in case it gets there before you and Rob do.
And I think the sam about you, Miss puglet.
We are supposed to get in the day before that, but yes, I'm having Jackson watch for any packages :)
thanks Peach
Do you call him Jackson or Jack? Or does he have a prefrence
He was introduced as Jackson.... Rob did refer to him as Jack tonight to me...
Will Katey or Joe and their families be going to MI for the Holidays?
Nope - this is an "off" year... Mom and Dad were going to FL to see Joe and Christina.. but had knee surgery and won't go till January.. Kate's family has started staying put, doing their own traditions now... Did you know they are expecting again??
No. How wonderful!
they are going to surprise themselves on boy vs. girl this time
Cute. When is the baby due?
dinner here. will be back soon.
okay Rose enjoy, see you later
hi everyone

Did you get it Yvooria?
Rose is an excellent cluer.
yes
Good.
awww, shucks...*hangs he4 and draws in dirt with toe*
though I wasn't familiar with that last word
I haven't seen it before either.
lol...who would be? it means checking a horse by pulling on the reins strongly..
"k" or "ch" sound?
dictionary.com doesn't say
sa-kahd... interesting
I just googled it and it had the rapid eye movement and one of the definitions. However, rose, your clue was much more clear.
macquarie dictionary says 'k'
brb refill
ditto
back and its pouring the rain!
well, rain means no snow, right? so not so clod?
*cold* lolol
It is supposed to rain here tomorrow and sunday.
showers here...and temps up...so humidity will be high...ugh
we are to get 3-5 inches of rain just tomorrow
snow is always welcome to me around Christmas time
with the snow and the rain next will be flooding
aagghhh, blisters are driving me crazy...they are soooo itchy.
Yvooria, is the new plot well drained? Or is that something you would need to do before building?
well, it's sort of on a ridge so pretty good drainage... but all the good builders around here install french drains as well
blisters where and from what
blisters along suture line, from a reaction between skin prep. used during surgery and the gum of the steri strips. thin paper strips used to hold skin edges together.
That's great. We had to have a drain installed when we moved to GA in 1977. We were on a slope, not much of one, but when a hard rain came the water backed up to the driveway.....I had the dog and cat in the car and ready to get out of there....LOL
I WANNA SCRATCH!!!!
blow on it--lol
what cat?! never heard you mention a cat
pe5, our house is the second lowest in our street. it rains here and we have a creek running through our front and back yards.
can you take something really soft and pat at it
like don's hand, you mean?? lolol
I guess, just dont use the nails
spoil sport, the nails are the best.
Rose Iam not getting that 9 word:(----got it all but for the last part
Oh, yes, we had a poodle and and a tabby cat named Skitter...poodle's name was Beau. They lived to be very old. It was rather difficult at first because the house wasn't quite finished and we had to take bag and baggage to a motel for a couple of weeks.
maybe Iam going the wrong way
okay, *h**e, not here
start with the c in the third row
Pug, or as my mom used to say, "he's a REAL ____!"
got it thanks--was going the ww
yay, ypu rock, pugs
*you*
yeah right--lol
Those fake ones could be assigned to a remedial course to get it right?
lol, o-o. how are you mate?
I am doing about as well as I don't know.
morning OO---good icon once again
know what you mean, o-o. did you see that workcover insurers expect me to be back at work 6 weeks post-op?
Ridiculous
ya think?? i'm still on oral narcotics..they have no id4.
may I please have a clue for my last s-word----se5-12
se + ***e, speed contest
thank you soooo much
Tell them ok if they set up your own room with space for your bed, support staff and live entertainment
np's pugs. o-o, you able to get out much, lately?
lool--great ideal OO--there you go rose
roflol, o-o. like the way you think.
No
awww, you poor thing. wish i could be there to help you.
"Whatever" has topped the annoying word charts for five straight years. "The word can be very dismissive and rude," said Mary Griffith, media director for Marist. "It's a put-down to some extent and it can signal to the other person that what they are saying is not important."
this is my first outing since the 3rd and Iam so looking forwards to it too
I am ok, rose. I get into less trouble when I only converse with the walls and ceiling.
exactly, o-o. and do you realise that the use of 'yeah, right' is an example of two positives meaning a negative?
I didnt know that OO or Rose
lol, o-o. i seem to spend a lot of time talking to the trees and breeze.
are they talking back to you?
poor pugs, life can be so unkind. hope you can make the most of it, dear. any chance of a coffee/tea while you are out?
Rose, it is alright to talk to trees but have you begun hugging them?
Also, pug, asked an interesting question.
for sure. They tell me I am great to have around ... they do not have many chances to feel superior
*giggle* no pe5. but my words keep being blown back into my face.
its not that bad Rose mostly--but I have one tank of gas to last the month so I use my outing time wisely
awww, o-o. you know you are the better person.
LOL...o-o. Good one.
only person in a convo with a wall or ceiling
okay, time for bed and meds. see you all at the flip.
good night Rose, hugs
Sweet dreams, Rose.
Night, Rose
Yvooria, how are you doing?
I'm just keeping the chat box up for company at this point while I'm trying to finish of my work before vacation... :)
OO, are you having heavy rains there now
That is a plan.
you got your fws Peach
I still need 24 but my eyelids are beyond drooping.
hate having anything hanging over my head on vacation (but I rarely achieve this)
No, pug, I still need 24. Did you finish the grid?
I need 57--guess I will have to go to list here soon
How many more days left to work on it?
Oh, goodness, pug, I've had the list all along and still just bumbling along.
Need two big things in the mail by the time I leave Saturday
well you are close to being done
o-o. I enjoyed reading your profile....profound as usual. The advice was excellent also.
Yvooria, I would be glad to help you if I could.
you'd bring me Diet Dr. Pepper as I peck at the keys ;)
Pug, please enjoy your outing time. You deserve it.
Handing Yvooria a Diet Dr. Pepper.....careful, I filled the glass a little full.
thank you Peach and please enjoy your day as well
:)
*taking glass* Oh good, you didn't put ice in it; I prefer it without.
I remembered.
I just told another lie.....but I will remember now.
had me fooled. lol
did you know the seed inside the peach pit smells and taste like Dr. Pepper
OK, that didn't sound quite right.....of course I'll remember now.....trick is will I remember it, in say, two hours hence?
lol
I didn't know that, puglet.....interesting.
So, puglet, you are an expert pit sniffer. Impressive!
lol--I wouldnt say an expert--but it was pointd to me years ago
HAHAHAHAHA! Thank goodness ruru isn't here (or is he), I can imagine what he would do with that question.
I dont know how they get the taste of Dr. Pepper, but Ive wonder if it was from that----oh you are so right Peach--lol
I heard Dr Pepper is the largest purchaser of peach pits.
I feel like Iam just sitting here staring at letter with a empty brain-lol
is that a true statement OO or are you pulling my leg?
Well, do you feel a tug?
cant say that I do :)
Yvooria, I have a real problem....I just went into the other room and a screw fell out of my chair. I sat down and tried to find out where it came from, but couldn't see any place.....afraid that it may come apart before I can get back to bedroom.....need to go up front first.
the chair that you usually sit in?
I have my cell in my pocket.....if I don't come back and turn this off, should I call you?
i was just going to suggest that you have your phone with you
OK, I will roll slowly.
be careful
do you have someone to come help you Peach
I made it so far. I will call Ricky and have him come here and fix it. This is really scary. Y'all say a prayer that I make it into the next room , please. Blessings.
are you going to bed?
will do Peach--bye and take care
Hello everyone :-)
morning zoom
Hello, Puglet, How are you keeping?
Iam fine and you
I am well thank you :-)
good morning everybody Stealing a minute to say hello
Beautiful sunny day here although a bit on the cool side (7.6c)
Hello, Ruby :-)
morning Ruby -- hugs
warmish temps here for this time of the year, but windy and rainy
thst would be hot for here, zzoozz, but at least it's above freezing (barely), so it's raining, not snowing
Big muddy footprints all over the house, however
Hope it does not stop you from doing your christmas shopping, Puglet :-)
I dont have that yet Ruby but as soon as the gang goes out I will
Oh de4, Ruby, hope you can wash the prints out of the carpet :-(
the weather is topsy-turvy
no, zoom, it wont. Tomorrow they are saying 3-5 inches of rain and with all the snow to melt I can feel flooding will be apart of the scene too
Oh good gosh, Puglet, That is an horrendous amount of rain..i do hope you do not get any flooding.
I do not want my present to get wet :-)
Fair -7°F -22°C
is your house on high groud, pugs?
Well that makes me feel a lot warmer, o-o, hope you are wrapped up warm.
Iam on high ground but our campground isnt and the river runs through it. We got things chained down and up of what we can
its cold for sure for you OO--burr
The wind has calmed ... I don't mind this.
you got snow on the ground too with those temps
in my younger days my sister and I rode our horses across the flooded river---it was very scarey and stupid and done it only the one time
Well yes it can be dangerous..but i am sure you knew the area wel, Puglet. I have walked on frozen canals and alike..which i think was silly of me also...we all do silly things from time to time.
"brave pugs"
Not seen, Joso, for a while. Is he ok?
not brave Ruby, young and stupid more like it---looking back I cant believe some of the places I rode
uh oh, th mister is whining
*woof*
I dont know zoom--been worried about him too. I emailed him but havent heard anything from him for over a week or more
Bye, Ruby, Nice to see you.
bye Ruby
Perhaps he is just busy, Puglet, after the move and with christmas just around the corner.
I was wondering that or if he found a job or a new woman--lol
If that is the case then i am very pleased for him :-)
Me too---hope its something like that
How are your dogs these days...being little rascals :-)
are you traveling for the holiday Zoom
right now none of them wants to be the first to venture outside to do their thing since its raining.LOL
No, puglet, will be making christmas meals for my parents and sister and her two siblings and spending the day there relaxing.
Don't blame them..they will get th5 coats wet..lol
that sounds nice Zoom
I think thats th5 thoughts too
are your parents very old
I like a no fuss christmas day, pugs, not into the over the top events....i think it is great for the children...but it is just not me..i do play games and stuff....just not into being way over the top....as long as i do not drink too much...otherwise i am..lol
They are maturing nicley, Pugs..lol
My spelling is gone to pot again..sorry about that.
Saying that i only have 20 more words to find :-)
you said you had to fix them a meal, I just thought that they werent able to do it for themselves
w2g Zoom
we dont have large get togethers anymore either due to parents gone and my sisters are here and there
Well they can make th5 own meals..but i also think it would be nice for my mother to relax on christmas day and let me do it for them. Meals always taste better when someone else makes it...Right?
thats true and very thoughtful of you too
I remember you saying something about a young lad a while ago, Pugs, will you not spend christmas with him and whom ever?
thats my great nephew and no---his dad just got married and they spend the holiday with his and her family
Oh i see...So do you have any plans?
not really--just fixing a small dinner for the three of us here
I so hope you have a wonderful christmas, Puglet, you are a very caring lady.
ahhh thank you Zoom and I hope yours is wonderful too
Alas my sister has arrived to take me into town with her...more shopping on her part...i just carry the bloody bags...what a cheek..take care of yourself..untill next time..toodle pips!
lol--have fun Zoom and take care
good morning all
Oh MY Dear Sprite! hello and hugs
hiya pug :) *hugs*
so how did it go?!
Hello and bye, Sprite, sorry going out....a word of warning though...i have heard, Puglet,is a 'pit sniffer'....Teehee.........ipoofi
it was fun, and it went very very well. Haven't been nervous at all, lol. The audience loved us!
iAM SO happy for you!
*giggles* I SOOO need to know how that name came along... hi and bye zooz... happy carrying :)
you will have to read the back log then
brb need to refill the cup
hm no clue in the visible backchog. Not sure I want to go over the whole day so far.
it was due to something OO said--lol
lol, another good pun?
turn over time
didnt you also have family group
oh I slept in so far today! Already hiccup time, wow.
yes, that would have been today, pug, how incredibly you remember. One of the therapists phoned me yesterday. The other one is ill and they wanted to cancel the appointment. A whole day of nothing much for me today :)
then just take advantage of it and enjoy!
will do. Am very tired. But in a contented way.
your feet feeling any better
Rose needs you on her case--lol---shes doing too much on swollen feet :(----you know her!
no, feet just as bad. Couldn't get the zippers from my ankle boots down yesterday after singing, they were so swollen. Will phone the doc in an hour to hear about the blood tests.
argh yes, poor rose.
you should keep them elivated as much as possible, that will help----if you arent already
no, am not, it is hell on my back to have my feet up. I know I should... just haven't found out a way that isn't worse than the feet, lol.
you might need to wear some of those (what they call here) ted-hose or socks
what about laying?
oh God I hope not
lol... laying eggs? ;)
I think Rose is having to wear them
but but but I am not even 50 yet...
giggles---if it hurts to sit with them up then what about laying down on the bed and putting them up
tell your legs that! lol
yes, should do that. And on the couch. That is how we got the boots off yesterday, lol... my love put me on the couch with my feet up and about 15 mins later he could pull the zippers down.
lolol hey you legs, behave like 50 year olds right now!
your couch have a arm on it that you can somewhat elivate them
not really. But I can work around that. ah well, we will figure it out.
or do you have a table with sturrips--LOL
roflololollllll
I can just picture you like that and hubby walking in--LOL
sure.... our dining room table... doubles as play table for my love's and my kinky games...
hehehe he'd have a litter of kittens, I think
I would say He would really want to know whats going on in your head then-lol
I think so too. And have a couple ideas himself probably, grin
I think you would be right on that!
but you should really try getting them up somehow
yes, I should. Will look into it and find a way, pug.
okay, done preaching
lol
Iam going to get out at last! Taking sister to doctors this morning and Iam taking advantage of getting out too if its just window shopping
oh how lovely, pug. Finally. You must feel like a kid being let out of school!
close! Its raining here so that adds to the joy of it too
wouldn't for me but for you guys overthere it is different, I guess
it beats the snow and plus its going to be in the 50's today :)
I think Rose said it was 104 there
argh!
I do not like that kind of heat
me neither. Way too hot for me.
I gave annapooh a bath yesterday and since it was coolish I was going to use the blow dryer on her----yeah right! she went crazy everytime I got close to her with it--lol--------so ended up towel drying as much as I could and then wrapped her in a blanket
that is how we dry Terra too. Toweling like mad and then wrapping in a towel and a blanket.
does she like bathing
no he doesn't, he is such a sorry sight when we have to bath him, lol. Like he is being tortured. But he likes the cuddling up in a blanket part.
for Beulah and Else I have to put them in the shower---though they dont mind getting a bath, I end up just as wet as well as the whole bathroom
annapooh is small enough I can do her at the sink and she likes her baths too
lol. We don't have a bath so we always put Terra in the shower with us. We don't even try to stay dry anymore. One goes in with Terra and the other takes over after washing.
time I get done with the big dogs my back is killing me for its all bend over
indeed! Am so happy we picked a small breed. Couldn't manage otherwise.
hi all
hi jmc!
my dogs before these, would put on all four brakes when we went into the bathroom--lol
Hi jmc
there is a goddess in babbleland today!
*takes bow* But just call me sprite... I am in one of My lesser forms...
*giggle* not you silly . . . in the grid
lolol :D
a valid one?
Sprite, just what does a sprite look like? A fairy?
yes. . .a greek goddess
yes, a tiny fairy, pug. They usually belong to a plant or streamlet or something else nature-ey.
I looked that up once but it gave no pics
am pretty sure I haven't found her yet then, jmc. Hera won't take :)
oh sorry . . . you found her. . . i am not responsible for enable!
I need to get off and get ready for the day---you all have a great day---hugs
sprites are mischievous and the reason you say bread and butter when you and a friend go on either side of a tree while walking. . .
bye puglet
ok pug, have a wonderful day and enjoy being out of the house! You may wanna google 'nature spright' for images.
lolol @ hera and enable. No, you are not responsible! Nobody is.
exactly, jmc. We sprites are not as nice as fairies.
nope. . . i have to keep a watchful eye on you when you are here in babbleland. . . .
:) I'd never ever ha4 my babble buddies though
;-)
stats for the u please
none for the wicked, jmc
haha good clue
:)
nbt
good job!
so what's new with you sprite. . . i am working such crazy hours right now that i feel like i don't know what is going on in babbleland at all!
nothing much, I think. Working hard in therapy on the eating disorder... family counselling is going well... kids are behaving... bit of ups and downs with health but nothing major... did sing in public yesterday, lol - little recital of our singing school.
re 6/21 - clue please
and you, jmc? Crazy hours, for one... how are you holding up? And how are you and yours doing?
nice on the singing. . .
hi gran
hello gran, I don't have it yet, sorry
i am working at the legal equivalent of food prep work. . . document review. . . a 12 hour day and this is a fairly laid back office with reasonable hours. . .
oh my God...
hello, je
i am trying to keep my organization going at the same time. . . but i was without regular income for so long i was swimming in debt and had to do something. . .
hi TOwl
hello, sprite
as for the hours i am getting used to them . . . the law is a jealous mistress and long hours come with the territory
hi owl
too true. Pretty awesome you are doing it, jmc. I hope things work out for you pretty quickly!
well i finally got the letter from the IRS (which makes it easier to raise money) and I have a guy working for me while i go to hack work. . . I told him that if we managed to get through to the summer I thought we would make it. . .
i must say i admire you for getting help with an eating disorder. . . that is a tough nut to crack. . . good on you. . . .
i am still looking gran. . . .
will hold you in my prayers, jmc. Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff... you will make it!
and thank you, yes it is tough. But necessary.
thank you how kind. . . and i, you
thank you :)
i have 3 minutes left before i must go get ready for work :-(
aw so little time! But if it gets you out of debt, it is worth it.
and i must say i want the R next to the D please
yes. . . getting out of debt is necessary for my longterm well-being! haha
too true, lol! Very unhealthy stuff, debts. They worry us sick.
my boy's job at the bicycle shop has been reduced to one day for the winter so he has applied to grad school next fall and there we go for more school costs!
any lists?
acted again, jmc
lickety maggie
hi maggie, lickety is up
ty sprite and with that i am off!
will check there again ... thanks
oh de4... but great he goes back to school

re6/24 can anyone clue plz
never mind got it
I haven't worked on the R's yet, but I will look with you.
hello scrabs. Do the rabbits get extra fur in your very cold winter? The dogs certainly do and eat much more
clue for ar 8/55
I don't see it, ruby. They live indoors so don't need extra fur.
my baby dog, not quite a year has put on anenormous extra coat so she looks bigger than the adult male
You mean ac8/55 = one who receives an award, for example, or one who acknowledges something
sorry for the type. ty scrab
My bunnies do shed at least twice yearly and I need to groom them--either pull loose fur out or brush them.
I send close to two hrs/days petting and grooming the two dogs and they are still a mess
Chows are fluffballs!
they are really magnifique!
re6/24 = re + when you speak another language the native speaker hears your a***nt.
Well, that is the first re6/24.
Ruby..."nice odds"...I'll ride in an elevator with you anytime. : D
ty, olly, it certainly drew a very hearty chuckle
don't get the clue, scrabs
although I have a poopy acc***
re6/24 #2 = alternative spelling of to drop a strawberry in chocolate fondue, e.g. or a potato chip into the ***
My 635 clue is for re5 actually, then pluralize
100 and time to read the IHT
and for 638--to drop a food item into a sauce or ** AGAIN. Geez, I am not fully awake yet.
<--missedMolly (or even olly)
smartest person in here!
good morning everyone:))
Hi Crossy

tyvm scrabby
ty scrabby great clue

Great clues folks
I messed some up, but I hope they helped.
They sure did Scrabs
I'm waiting for Abby and Murphy to be on TV
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!. now some of you may know that I am somewhat partial to breakfast.. so here is what breakfast looks like around the world!!
National TV?
http://tinyurl.com/m7jytbr
Yes "Fox and Friends" at 8:20
OK, I watch "Morning Joe" on MSNBC so I will switch over.
Okay, good
Some of those breakfasts are carb-laden.
lol,scrabby,yes,some have carbs
There they are!
and cholesterol bombs as well
The cholesterol and fat are not as bad as the carbs.
I refuse to tear down my breakfast till my dr custs me off of the stuff I like
look at it all long enough and you would hide in a underground bunker with organic tofu, bean sprouts and distilled water:)
Nuts--the superfood!
besides, my doctor is wrong already he said that each slice of bacon takes 6 minutes off of my life.well,i did the math and if that was the case,i should of died in 1845!!
bacon does time travel!! is there nothing it cannot do? lol
You eat a paleo-type diet--fat/protein dominate--which is healthy because of low carb intake.
re6.24: pt of to *** a spoon into the soup, or a duck ***s its bill into the water.. pt of to do this again
hi all, will brb, going to get a bowl of granola
Good morning, Aloy!
good morning
oh dear, all this chat was not showing.. I did a refresh and here you all magically are, lol
Hi Annie
howdy annie,aloy
Hi Scrabbs and crossy
can you give me a samle of what foods are in that diet, scrabby?
sample
sare
Meat, nuts, veggies--foods that early man would find. No processed or prepared foods.
free sort clue, not a word
so,i can still have my eggs and organic bacon?
Yes.
and they have been making bread forever,so I can keep my bread
scrabbs, what about coffee?
www.marksdailyapple.com
we need to find the date cut off for this diet;)
Well, it depends on how strict you want your diet. Some people are so low-carb they they become ketotic.
name that proper noun....Miss Prynne in the Scarlet Letter
Good Morning fellow babblers
and your whole life becomes micromanaging your food.bah
Hi River
howdy,riverdance
eatingacademy.com
hi River
Hester
Hi River
ding ding ding~!!!
wtg scrabbs
Some people do that, Crossy. HIgh-level athletes often follow the diet carefully.
Where is Hurshy?
hehe, crossy is far from a high level athlete
havent seen hurshy in a long time
Hope all is well with her
good morning all
hi westford
Hi westford
Hurshy lurks a lot, she works on the grid mostly.
Hi westford
I don't chat much any more but I have to talk to someone..
hi annie and scrabbler
I hike in summer, i snowshoe in winter, i get the canoe on the water in the summer and eat what I love. we are all a worm feast in 100 years anyways;) you will be proud of me that I get almost all my base foods from the farm now however and eat more greens
howdy,westford
my husband was admitted to hospital yesterday for tests..I can't tell the kids until we know something definite
cancer tests?
And our DNA dictates so much of our health.
Oh, no, westford.
oh no westford - what is wrong?
dire
oops...sorry
here's the back story ..yesterday morning at 7:30 I called down to him in his basement office ( he works at home) and asked if he wanted coffee
sorry for the stress, westford
off to the PB I go with NBT
hopefully not di4, riverdance
He answered me and his voice was all garbled..words were slurred
Hi Dan
oh oh
sigh..stroke I think
sorry,westford,continue
then his speech corrected, he could lift his arms, no dizziness or weakness. About an hour later he said he was going to Urgent Care which is a mile away. We were expecting a delivery so he drove himself. I should have gone with him.
The docs at urgent care called the rescue squad and sent him to the hospital. Now the keys are in his jacket pocket, the car is at urgent care and we only have the one car
call a neighbor/friend?
get the hospital to fed-ex the keys, then it is a small thing to go the mile to urgent care
yes,or a friend to assist
How far away is the hospital?
that's not too much of a problem. I can call a cab to get the keys and see him but they have scheduled him for tests today. He had an mri and they think he might have experienced a tia ?
no friends here, the kids are spread far and wide and my brother cares for my 97 year old mother
sounds much like a stroke, westford, though scrabby would know better than i.
Yes, sounds like a TIA--"mini-stroke."
you have better healthcare than we have, when my dad had his tia, they could just about be bothered to send a locum out to the house, he wasn't given any tests or told to go to hospital
yup.my brother in law had one last september
he went in at 10:30 and they had not given him anything to eat by 8:00 p.m. because the therapist needed to see him and they all went home
hi west - just stopping in to offer my support to you and hubby - and if I may say so, in emergencies like this, an unknown neighbor may become a friend, I would not hesitate to ask a neighbor even if they've never helped before
they say when they catch it early enough all will be well
The car can wait. Get a cab and go to the hospital. You can be there to speak with the doctors and be of comfort to your sweet husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband, Westford.
Hi frogface and JBV
yes, they get that thinner med on board, the clot buster
There. I feel better now. He is the picture of health, never lets anything bother him
Yes, good advice, Mom.
ditto what Mom said
Hi scrabbler
hi everyone
(((MOM))) been missing you
thank you all for your help
and good morning dear friends
off to the hospital, westford.. thinking of you!
they do make you sign off on the medication however
howdy mom
((((River))))) I have missed you as well.
I agree with Mom - he would love to see you, westford, it's no fun being in a hospital alone
hi Mom
HI Aloy
Just be with him now so he gets comfort, and you can ask questions of the medical folks.
((Crossy))) good morning
what scrabby said
I am going to the hospital even if I have to walk there..I spoke to him on the phone last night..he sounded tired and said he was hungry but otherwise felt fine. The doctors said they would put him through the ringer today to find out what's going on.
((Mom)) How nice to see you
West, I am sorry about your husband. I will keep you both in my prayers.
westford, call a cab and get to the hospital. The car will be there.
(((Annie))) so good to see you as well. I had a few minutes and thought I would hop on
Mom, You hopped with good advice.
sounds like he's in the best place, hope he gets well soon westford
and please call your children....they should know what is going on even if you dont know yet....I would be very upset if my Mom did not let me know
Yep, he will have lots of tests--blood work, sonogram of carotid arteries in the neck, maybe an angiogram to look at neck and brain vessels.
He probably had the "clot buster" by now
more advice - although you didn't ask for it : ) - bring lots to read (and eat) - you will probably have long waits while he's being tested, but he will at least know you're nearby
((westford)) grab a book and off to the hospital with you and we all give our best to your husband. strokes caught early ehough can be dealt with
I would think so, annire
I agree with River, call the children
west, your hubby was smart to get himeself to Urgent Cre
agree, Crossy. It is so important to catch them early
I also agree with JBV, you will be waiting. Perhaps crocheting or knitting if you do those things
Done with the grid--with much help from Morewords.com. Time for breakfast. Maybe I will be back tonight.
You are all the best. So you think I should call the kids ? One daughter is in San Diego, one is in Washington state, one is in Northampton, MA and son is in Fitchburg. I'm in RI. We are having our family Christmas on the 29th.
bye scrabbs
they should know even if they cant come yet....
bye, Scrabbs.. congrats
I would also call the kids
and fitchburg and northhampton are not that far for a quick trip
I agree - call them
then grab your book and your knitting needles and get to the hospital.bring yourself some nice snacks
bye Scrabbler
call the children, you won't have to be alone with this today
He is their hero. Okay I will.
or, call them from the hosp. if you have a cell phone
then all the more important that they know and are involved
I need to scoot. Westford, take care of yourself also. That is so improtant. Hugs to all of you.
Good idea aloy I need to bring his phone charger and iPad to him as well.
bye Mom
bye bye ((River)))
right, westford.. he will appreciate that
He thinks he has ruined Christmas. As if that matters.
Will be thinking of you and your husband, west.
bah.....christmas is not even here yet......more important to get well
west, the kids would rather see (or at least know) about their father than worry about Christmas
Christmas will be all the more precious.. he hasn't ruined it
I'm half decorated and hardly wrapped too lol
time for my breakfast.....my thoughts will be with you and your husband westford
yes, bring his electronics,he will be bored out of his mind
I will let you all know how it turns out. Thank you all so much.
West, the kids will be more concerned about Dad than Christmas
yup

Morning Flosey! Got snow? I do, not much though, 2"
good morning Saanich, yes - was up very early this morning the snow made it seem much later - about the same here, just a ground cover
that's good, except on your hills. I'm going to wait til about noon to go out, we may be salted or ploughed by then.
still falling - hope this doesn't keep daughter and her partner in Vancouver - they're booked on the ferry tonight
sounds like (from CBC) they will be OK. Hope they have reservations!
ugh..we have freezing rain warning
and yes, they should have the roads sanded so driving shouldn't be a problem, and thanks for the report - yes, I booked their trip
oh dear, that's not nice at all crossy
back into this puzzle - easier than it looked at first. You think of everything, including booking the trip! Later... and Hello Crossy! Please send breakfast!

I am reverse. Ever since I have no longer had the need to set an alarm clock,my eyes pop open at 1 am and again between 4 and 5 am
and I am often up for the day tween 5 and 6 am

GE..yea,like they are short of funds!
it's a different crop of folks during the day, and it's nice to see you again.

Lillian!! Hi, so good to see you here.
Thanks, lilliann -- I kept reading 'tear' as crying, so it took me a bit.
hi Hego, sorry i was on phone talking to hubby.he is on his way back from the alps with skiers.nice to see you to hego and be back , well atleast for a few days.hope you are well :)
yvw ch, sorry about the clue
Yes, I am, ty, we were worried about you.
oh no, it was a great clue. I like the ones that make my brain work :)
crossy is back. was in the kitchen doing a cheddar/penne pasta bake with red angus ground beef, herbs and spices and 3 kinds of sharp cheddar with a light rose litallian plum tomato sauce
italian
And low fat, right?
sounds delicious
sounds lovely
not kosher, but lovely
really yummy
Yummy! Anything with cheddar, pasta, angus beef and tomatoes is part of my recommended daily allowance :)
very saucy
i now am craving crossy's dinner
i had problems with babble and then hadn't been of fb for ages as i was sick of viruses, then the bairn was on school holidays and with her dad working away most of the year i wanted to spend some time with her as babble was beginning to take over my life again as it does :)then i went away last month for a few weeks with hubby to spain as he he was doing a job there, so that was nice to spend some 1:1 time with him when i could, now i'm getting ready for our family holiday as usual
much better than ours - cleaning out the refridgerator - so lots of leftopvers
low fat?? lol..there is 3/4 of a pound of cheese cubes topping it before it goes in da oven
howdy lillina:))) wb
this pasta bake IS with leftovers:))
Well, we're glad to see you Lill and glad things are well.
well other than the chees, but cheese goes into everything anyways
sounds lovely crossy, i ended up having a takeaway pizza in between packing.now i feel bloated and yuk :(
cheese
what a saga, lilliann. Spain sounds so very nice.
poor Lillian:(
aww, ty hego and crossy :)
not where we were staying mab and the hotel had more french than the town had spanish.ispoke more french than even english
that is the great thing about living where you do ,Lillian. everything is so close. I have family in London and they pop over to Spain for a 3 day long weekend. For us it takes a lot of planning and is not exactly around the corner
the islands?
it's my own fault, i should have just ordered a chicken wrap
it took us 3 days to get there crossy as we were on a coach
Oh, my
very nice:)) if I want to drive yout west to see our Vancouver babblers,it will take the better part of 2 weeks of hard motoring
Hi lilliann. Lovely to see you and hear that all is well :)
think we shall try out east first
2 weeks Crossy?
Sue made it in less than a week, I think.
But you are further east.
hego, it is Costa del Maresme,58km from Barcelona in Catalonia
I know the area.
Nowonder so many French.
Hi Chrissie, ty and i hope all is well with you :)
3 days was bad enough crossy, nevermind 2 weeks:)
there were coach loads of them, and i have no problems with the French as such but they are rude, but not meaning to be, they just come across as such.we queue, they don't and they're very impatient and not good with lifts
It is thanks lilliann. Looking forward to Christmas and having the family home
the queue has always escaped the french
britons do excel there
and the Itlaians
i hope you have a wonderful family Christmas Chrissie
in my part of the u.s. we queue, but ambiguously
we'll be on a plane as usual am very much looking forward to it:)
we queue.
and God help anyone who tries to cut the line.
we do the scatter queue. people are sort of staggered and it is not always clear who goes next
yes, alot of the europeans aren't good at queueing, when we've been to places that our american and canadian friends go, you do all queue, but maybe not how we do :)
that's it, the stagger queue..lol
if all conditions are promising we urge another person should go first - the no, no, you have fewer items, you go first, etc.
i wasn't being nasty to my american or canadian friends by saying that by the way.us english are just too much into queueing and it has to be right :D
not at all. you say nothing amiss.
we do that too, well, some of us
yes, we do that mab.
when i'm cross, this annoys me. just go, i want to scream.
but only on a bad day
lol, go already.
if people just push infront of me without asking or saying 'excuse me' then i get wheelchair rage and ram their ankles, gently
unless they've really annoyed me and also depends on my mood on that day...lol
we queue, but we are smart about it,we take numbers
lol@ wheelchair rage as I picture Lillian running them down
ha ha :D serves them right.
I have done my stints in a chair and was amazed at how rude people were to me.
i like numbers
Like they look right over you and don't see you there.
we have those number machines too crossy but majority of people don't take one and will push in, that annoys me.why have them if no-one uses them and the staff behind the counters never say anything
I like numbers too.
unacceptable!
help with ca5/14 ?
Hi monkey!!
cadre
oops!!!
great hint
Gee, hego... and here I was, trying to figure out a clever way to clue that. :D!! Love it!
she should get that clue. lol
hego,my beloveds eye sight is very bad 20/400 and as such she has zero depth perception and has problems going in and out of building from natural to artificial light .she uses the white cane known world wide to assist her with curbs, sidewalks and anyplace that may have stair or elevators. I am sad to say that in grocery stores, our general public is not much better.i have to almost push people out of the way to stop them from running her over
very true hego, that really annoys me, especially when they stop with their trolleys right infront of me and they've seen me behind them and they block the whole aisle.i just push it to the opposite side from them and go slowly by :)
(((lilllll))))
good clue hego :D
I believe it Crossy.
good for you lill
ch12, I was also.
yes, sadly, i've seen that too Crossy, i normally say something and if they don't hear me or are ignoring me(which i can tell) then i get their ankles too :)
We must send Lill one of those air horns.
<----as in with blind people
You know the ones that blast your eardrums out.
or plays a tune
i'd use it just for fun and to wind people up hego
it would be great...lol
oohh, actually, i have one that my hubby gave me a couple of years ago.it would be great to go around a big supermarket now and use it :)
Lillian,if you use a cell phone, there is a very nice air horn app you can get.it is very loud in crowded and confined spaces
I hear an evil laugh....
good idea Crossy
or go to any store that sells or services boats, they will have those nice small air horn cannisters
perhaps a few flares would be useful :)
especially this time of year.i was with the bairn yesterday at a supermarket and there was this couple blocking the meat section, arguing over which meat to get for Christmas.they were there for 10 minutes and then when they had bought their food he then blocked the aisle from the tills and then he walked out infront of us in the middle of the road, when we were int he car.dozy man!!(but i did use a stronger word than that at the time) :)
:)
strong words were surely called for
boors
ooh, i'll have to look for an app crossy, but it can't be high pitched or low toned.i have a reverse beep on my mobility scooter but i had to get rid of it as it makes me dizzy
they were Mab, and i don't swear very often
christmas time is the worst
people do misbehave at xmas in shopping situations
that's why i hate this time of year as it gets so busy and the shops cover every inch of their floor space, which is hard to get around for people with dissabilities and family with prams.the shops are only closed for one day!!
that's just willful insensitivity. and greed.
and not in the holiday spirit.
and as for mrs. crossy, evil uses of a white cane come to mind. perhaps it's wrong, but really it's so annoying when disabled people are expected to be passive.
it annoys me as there are some shops that i really like and can't get into as i can't get up some of their isles as they are so full. i have knocked a few things over in the past and felt guilty and picked them up even though i still couldn't get up an isle i wanted to and now if i knock something over i leave it, to make a point but it doesn't seem to make any difference as able bodied people can knock over the displays aswell because of where they are placed.one day i will knock over a huge display on purpose!!
Go Lillian!!
the cane has an interesting feature. it has a large white hard plastic bit that spins on bearings to allow the vision impaired to asses the width of a sidewalk quickly and with eash. this end ,when the cane is swung briskly can make even the strongest person limp away to figure out where they went wrong in life
i feel sorry for parents with prams aswell, especially if they have double buggies, they are in the same predicament as me and other disabled people, and when i could walk, and pushed the bairn ina pushchair, it was a nightmare at times.you'd think the shops would learn by now as they actually miss out on alot of sales because of too much taking up little space
I can just see Mrs Crossy withan evil grin on her face and her cane swinging.
i'm glad it has a double use crossy :)
she aims for the ankles, knees and at need male private parts
Oh, my!
lol :)
I find that some of the newer us chain bix box stores that have invaded us are the worst (Wal-Mart) Target etc.they crap things to the rim, and make the asiles half the width and just buy the shoopers narrowere carts to push up and down th asiles
big
cram
shoppers
Mrs Crossy's cane sounds like a good self defence weapon
I need a secretary
i think 'crap' is correct
I did too.
i have become so nauseated at the mounds of imported sweat shop crap from oversea, that i have started buing much of my food from what we call "100 mile stores" and get my furniture built locally as well
buying
that is good. oh, and i think most of us speak typo, crossy.
i've only ever been in wal-mart once and that was in mexico this year and i've never seen so much in one shop.there are like 20 of our shops in one store...unbelieveable!
Could I get a clue for ce6/27, please?
I never go there.
best just to avoid them,lillian
hate those stores
ce6/27 is ce and a tear in cloth and a french *orn
Thanks
for a interesting read on the way Wal-Mart runs and it business practices just google "the man who said no to Wal-Mart" it is an eye opener
our supermarkets have alot of things now whichis why so many of our local small shops have closed down because they can't compete which is such a shame but we don't have anything on the size of wal-mart.saying that, it's us as in shoppers fault really for the little shops closing down as we go to the big shops and can buy almost anything in them so it is quicker and easier for us
yw marc
we also are fighting to save our smaller "mom and pop" stores lillian
everyone fights, few win.
ad 6, help pls and good evening
the smaller independent shops can only win with unique custom items that wal- mart decides they cannot make enough margin on
small shops just can't compete with big store prices and people can't afford not to shop there.
nm, doh
true, crossy.
luckily for me, i live in a small village and we have some shops that are used regularly, but some have closed throughout the years, i just hope that the others can keep going, especially with everything going up in price, especially gas and electric
hi bichon
it is hard indeed
sa7, I need a hint pls.
sa7, santa's bag, minus last letter and ar****, amusement park
sorry, don't have it hego
ty Lill and Bichon too.
*or shopping ar****/mall
my futon is a prime example. in Wal-Mart i can get a tubular steel frame futon make in bangledesh or Taiwan or india or wherever for $347.37 + tax. Instead i went to a small wood working/furniture shop and had them make me one out of local maple and local material, made buy local workers who in turn will spend their money in local shops. I cost me $600 dollars but is solid and will last me a lifetime
yw, glad you got it on that clue :)
thanks lil
i still have 78 left. i started really late tonight, i probably should dive in and get some more but i'm enjoying the chat and have missed my babble friends
strange word.
yw mab :0
it is ok,lillian.the chat often diverts me as well.
ty mab
We missed you also.
actually crossy is the prime offender. My beloved says that my tongue is hinged in the middle so it can flap on both ends;)
i think the wood ones are a hell of alot better crossy as i have one since i was 15 and it is 39 years old and is still great to lie on, but i know of someone who bought one that was metal framed and it didn't last a year
ty hego:)
yup.so it comes down to how many you wish to buy in a lifetime and if you want to support local furniture makers
it's nice to be missed;D
((Lill))
our mission bed is from the same maker.it is of local white pine and will outlas us
outlast
so true, but low-income people can't buy that way usually.
lillian I never got the sa7 clue could you clue it another way, please?
*sorry, i meant 29 years old, my maths is crap!!
but you save when you buy only once, mab
sa7 santa's bag, minus last letter and *orn on the cob
mark, it is like type - sans serif
*or when someone is fired marc,
alt. spelling.
lower and bottom lines on a letter
too explicit of a clue. sorry.
i have a friend who got his very first apartment about ten years ago and what he did was leave all the rooms empty and save for each piece one at a time. for example he had a bean bag chair and a tv tray in the livingroom for most of a year until he had saved for the chesterfield and table he wanted. same with the bedroom. the clothes were in packing boxes for months until it came time to save for the dresser
no it isn't, wrong word, it is jerky movements witha rein on a horse and eye movements
no mab, some people like that type of clue. i do when i know it, but don't when i don't :D
i think that's a good thing too, crossy, but our capitalist system makes people think they have to buy stuff right now.
buy local, buy quality, buy it once.
all clues are good clues
I agree Crossy.
sorry marc, crap clue. santa's bag, minus last letter and a trainee in the army minus the t
we had one of those cheap particle board ikea type computer desks for 5 years.we saved and now the mrs has a hand made cherrywood secretary desk with the drop down front.it will also last forever.we just had to wait till our boy was older so we could dump the salvation army child rearing furniture
lol
Thanks got it
oh! wrong word. never mind...
phew!yw:)
lol Crossy.
crossy does not get to use the desk however.he has the old beat up particle board computer desk now:)
ce 6/7, pls
i have one of those cheap ikea computor desks and it is crap, but saying that it has lasted us about 7 years but it looks cheap and nasty. i would definitely spend more money on a decent one next time.
ce6/7 sounds like miss piggy's boyfriend
alt spelling, i hope that helps
ty lili and welcome back
yvw bichon and ty:)
i hope you and family are well
indeed, lillina. now we will save for two more years and replace the partice board one i inherited from the mrs with a matching solid wood desk like she has
it is the last piece in the house and we are done..until my son starts brining granbabbies over to visit
Must go..So good to see you Lill and everyone. hagn All.
cherrywood is so pretty.
tc,hego
hi all, hi lil. How are you. I have missed you.
Bye.....
i also love the look of real wood.i love oak. i have a very chaep dining table which wasn't made of wood and you can see by the scratches on it and i would love an oak dining table
it is,but it is 300 dollars vs a 89 dollar ikea special make in some sweatshop
oak is a very nice hard wood to work with
Bye Hego. if i don't see you before, i hope you have alovely christmas and new year. tc hin.x
wish i was there whit you Lillian, would show you how to make your own solid oak round dining table on the cheap
crossy loves working with oak
crossy, you are so multitalented
hi peri, aww thank you, it is great to see you too and i'm good thanks.i've missed chatting to you and others here and it is really heart warming for me to hear that people have missed me.tyvm.x
I am glad you are ok, lil
more of an idiot savant, bichon:)) wood speaks to me
i wish you were here too crossy, but i'd let you make it :)
nope, you would be right in there with me getting all covered in sawdust
you could make all the wooden dowed and plugs for me
dowells
no i wouldn't, i'd just make you loads of cups of tea and cheese and bacon sarnies :)
mm..you do know a way to a mans heart
i knew that would get you :D
the bairn would make the dowels and plugs, she likes things like that and enjoys woodwork when they do it at school and is very good at it even though she puts herself down alot
er14, please?
what a volcano does marc
and er6
ty lil
yw peri, ijust found it myself when marc asked
log ago,i made a oak table of this type for my MIL. I made it with a lazy suzan built into the centre of the table
lazy susan?
thanks go tit
Good Afternoon, Everyone. Welcome back, Lil!
that must have been a neat table, crossy
yw
a sort of round shelve that revolves, lil
hi nef,ty.good to see you too
or rotates
hi nef
Whew---just worked a 12-hr. day!! Where is my martini?!!
it is a round patter of the same wood, built on a cake stand base, but it revolves so you can put your salt, pepper, spices and butter etc on it and at supper all the person needs to do is give it a spin to get ahold of those brusel sprouts
ty mab.i could do with one of those.alot easier than trying to reach for things
((mimi))
i will make you crossys famous martini, mimi
(((mimi))) one martini coming up.how would you like it?
Ooooh, ((cross)), I want one of those gizmos!
that's no fun, Mimi. What kind of work?
I would like a martini too, crossy
((lilliann)) So glad to see you here, dear.
Radiology transcription, Nef. Supposed to be part-time but lately it is full-time...not complaining...making lots of $$$.
you too hin, missed you loads and tyvm for worrying and getting in touch.xx
BRB---going to get martini! And---it's raining here in Phoenix!
i'm having a white wine but i might change it for a vodka and tonic
Wow. Sitting still doing transcription for that long would drive me nuts! Good for you that you can do that!
I already had 2 G&T today
it's raining here too mimi and was blowing a hooley but it seems to have died down now
i can't drink gin peri
ok.here is crossy's perfect martini: take a large matini glass out of the freezer and add 3 ounces of gin or vodka, now get a long, serling silver cocktail sword and impale three pearl onions on it(3 olives for gin) and gently place into the drink so as to not bruise the alcoho, now lean over the glass and whisper" Antonio Benedetto Carpano " and add a twist of lemon or lime and serve.
I would be under the table after drinking that crossy :)
onions in vodka...reallly???
I like vodka but prefer the taste of gin
yup,believe it or not
i was thinking of martini rosso out of a bottle :)
i like the whispering vermouth part
you munch the onions off the cocktail sword while waiting for your next drink
i like pickled onions but not with a drink.even not pickled
I was trying to decide what to have for dinner, but think I'm too tired for dinner. Hey, this is great...making lots of money and too tired to eat, so will get skinny....and simultaneously drunk!
Somehow, picturing me trying to munch onions off a cocktail sword sounds extremely dangerous (especially after drinking alcohol!)
i used to wave the bottle of vermouth over the drink, mab, but there was always the chance of spillage.safer this way
believe me, by the time i'd muched the onions the drink wouldn't have been placed quick enough :)
lol, Mimi
so, you are slim, rich and drunk eh??...
lol nef
We used to say, pour the vodka/gin for the martini and say a prayer for the absent vermouth.
you can make a sarnie though mimi. you need to eat something
yes,we sometime pray to the vermouth as well.poor Antonio.one bottle of vermough has lasted me 20 years so far
yes Mimi you do need to eat something
I'll probably have a bowl of chili, lilliann...don't want you to worry! And also peri.
ok
when i was 18 all i drank was martino rosso, as it wasn't strong but i still got drunk a bit occasionally.i can't drink it now as it is too sweet
i won't bully you mimi, but PLEASE EAT SOMETHING!! :)
I'll never forget the terrible hangovers I used to get from champagne...ugh!! And the headache!
There are days when I wish I could drink; but since I always get so sick the next day after any ETOH, it just isn't worth it anymore. (I used to love a good G & T….)
i don't like vermouth which is the white one
I feel that way after most wine but I can still drink a little bit of champagne with no problem
i don't like champagne
we already have the chapers chilling in the fridge for new years eve
champers
we knew what you meant crossy, we are use to your typos now :D
in fact, i've missed your typos
we are all fluent in typo
i know.was on another site where they pounced on every damn typo and am slowly relaxing now
I may get some champagne for New Year's Eve...will be by myself but can still be festive!
exactly mab
I will buy some this week
My son has been brewing beer and hard cider lately; I've been told it's pretty good (and also quite strong at times!)
aww,if i could squeeze you in my suitcase mimi i would, then you wouldn't be alone
mimi.make sure you are online and in babble news years eve.Victoria and i will raise a toast with you and ring in the new year
now, cider i can drink but i do find it quite bloating now
i don't metabolize alcohol at all as i did when 18
I would LOVE to celebrate the New Year with you and your beloved, crossy! Hey, anyone else who can spare a moment, please join us! Of course, the times will be different, but I'll be on early for the East Coast New Year.
rarely drink now
what time zone are you,mimi?
what time will it be for you mimi?
I don't metabolize ANYTHING the way I did at 18, mab...in fact, I don't think I metabolize period!
:D
I'm Mountain Time but Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings time, so I'm 2 hours behind you in the winter and 3 hours in the summer.
my parents always brewed their own wine when i was younger but haven't doen it for years but i suppose living in France, it's cheaper and easier to buy it
am going to jazz club for new year's eve
perfect!!! i can raise a glass here at midnight them 2 hours later i camn pop open another bottle for you:))
so what time is it now for you mimi?
sounds great mab. i hope you have a lovely time
It's 4:30 in the afternoon, lilli.
^:30 pm here EST
my dad loves jazz. i like some jazz music. my dad likes the old style not michael buble but i like michael buble
6:30*
you are 7 hours behind me mimi and 6 when i go away
I forgot: he also took our grapes (from our grapevine) out of the freezer and is brewing some wine with them. We had a lot of grapes frozen from the last 2-3 years in there that I'd planned to make into jelly; but he got to them first. (I should see how that is coming along. He hasn't mentioned that for a while)
cool nef. bet it will be sweet.
so i will be in bed then, but if i get on the net before then and you are here i will have an early new years drink with you :).x
You can have New Year's breakfast with me, lilliann!
do you mean you froze grapes for 2-3 years Nef?
i will try my hardest mimi. i would love to celebrate new years with you .x
Need to go decompress...working both tomorrow and Sunday, probably at least 10 hrs. each. Not complaining...glad to have the work. Have a good evening and hugs all around.
tc sweetie and don't work too hard.xx
night mimi
hubby's home tomorrow and will be busy with holiday stuff so i probably won't be on so have a lovely Christmas mimi and will hopefully catch up on new years day.big hugs.xx
Tc mimi
Ihad to swich over to the recliner and am now using the tablet.darn neck is killing me
Yes, lillian, we've frozen our excess grapes and I was supposed to make jelly with them once life slowed down a bit (which really didn't happen yet; although retiring *again* is helping now.

harp, it's what a volcano does
just decided no lafayette for NY
and er6
thanks!
and hi harp
there were lots of folks worried about you, lilliann. you need to send out an email when you're going to be away!
yes, lil, i often saw olks asking for you
then again, you can always leave us hanging, wondering if you've run off with the milkman
*snicker*
Liliann!! and everyone else!
i had problems with my computor and here and sick of viruses from fb so stopped all and i must admit i didn't go on my emails for ages either.in fact there were alot of days because of things that i couldn't use my computor, so i apologise for people worrying and thank you for doing so.next time, i'll try and let someone know that i won't be around :)
hey dawg hey harp
cere
nah, don't apologize. just know that people care
milkman? we don't have one, but my postman...well there is a man i might miss babble for...too young for me though!!
temple, may i ask what kind of swing dancing you do - big band kind or western?
hi lbd :)
east coast.
oh there she goes being cheeky
like 40s era? is it hard to learn?
well there we go - a babble dance meet!
yes!
i didn't realize so many people did welki, i didn't think i was liked that much so it is really heart felt to know that people do care. that is why i love babble so much, even if we argue and don't all get along, we still care for others
yes, but also up to elvis. not hard compared to west coast, at least some decent basics. linfy hop is more advanced
so it goes big band to R & R
dance lessons, or did you just pick it up?
i think i would like that
<-- wants owl to teach her how to dance the zydeco way
lessons! ood lord, it takes me forever to learn. i am slow. hey welk, you liked my dance video?
yes i did - sent a reply, too - because i thought i saw you in there :)
welk: it seems i am acquiring my own personal instructor.;)
sounds intriguing (who am i kidding - sounds sexy!)
pretty tame clip, not a lot of open position.
i have found a loosiana man.
and no one dances like a loosiana man
a looosiana man~! i thought of you in houston - was at a restaurant at the airport called papadeaux. oysters, gulf shrimp, crawfish - was delish!
mmm
he's from LA and lives close by? so when i come back east in the spring, i'll dance with you?
YIPPPEEEEE! be sure to come when there is a dance on the calendar!
i won't book my flight until i check out the dates with my social planner
there are so many upcoming. cj chenier and beausoleil in feb!
i want to learn ballroom dancing; we learned in primary school with icky boys, but i remember nothing. must learn anew with yummy men
what month are we talking? you can look up the calendar yourself.
ohhh beausolei;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\n!!!!!!!!
oops
mab that is great,it's fun and great exercise. Big resurgence among boomer generation.
mab that is great,it's fun and great exercise. Big resurgence among boomer generation.
ra7?
beausoleil is at our place - bethlehem - ends weekend blues festival
i have been in love with that band since the 80s
hi harp = sorry, don
don''t have it - see? owl's got me all kerfuffled
saw there very first performance in phila. saw then earlier this year, 25th anniversary tour.
blech. i have 12 left and i've lost interest
and they play lots of waltzes so you can dance!
last time i was in bethlehem was to the martin guitar company to have one of my guitars repaired
ra7 what you do when you compete against someone and not you
not true - to a stained glass company
but pl
i had no idea you had a martin or other guitars or that you played
the things we learn :)
thanks
martin is in nazareth i think?
i stink at it now, but was pretty good when i was young - before the voice crapped out and the fingers went all arthritic, but i still give a good run for the money (there's no money)
yes, nazareth - bethlehem is where i used to pick up sheets of stained glass
i look at my guitar;thats about it
do you have a d series?
i bought my 6 yr old grand-daughter a ukelele for christmas. she wanted a guitar, and i don't have a problem with getting her one, but let's see how she does on this first
yes, a d35
of course :)
vintage 1972 or 3 or 4
uke is easy and fun. a bit harder if you play guitar
bought it at silver and horland in the city
that is worth some money now
Pssstt...L...I wasn't worried about you. I know you often take breaks from Babble to go on about the business of life. It's nice to see you back though.

Wtg TO!! :)
YAY, TO!!! WTG!!!
well, as i've learnt, we can't please all people all or any of the time.all our personalities are different, the same as our sense of humours.it doesn't help that we all live in other countries as words and meanings are different so what pleases one, upsets another, but that's life!
i always seem to put my foot in my mouth! :)
well ty all and i am beat. nice to see you all.
night TO, tc and have a lovely Christmas and new year
I always feel that this is a place for fun and friends. Sometimes I get serious, sometimes I "dump" frustrations here since there are so many I consider as friends here. If someone doesn't like that;I'm sorry but that's too bad
oh you too! perhaps i will see you again before then.
Niters, TO. Happy Holidays and hope to see you soon
probably not To as hubby back tomorrow and we're away on holiday Christmas day, but hopefully i'll get to chat on here whilst i'm away

Hello gapeach! How are you doing today?Welcome to grid
May I please have a clue for any 'ce' words? Thanks
ce5 & 6 tree/s
Hi there, Min. I'm OK. Hope you are well.
ce6/24 the frog & plural
The ce5/14 is a kind of tree and ce 6/24 is plural of tree word. The ce 4/6 word is ce plus the late Princess **ana.
i miss when the bairn was younger.Christmas is better with young children
hi peach :)
Thanks much, dan and Min.
yw
hi peach...
Lilliann, I haven't seen you in ages. Do hope all is well with you.
Hey there, pen. How is the weather where you are?
yes, we are enjoying it quite a bit. miss2bit is in the middle of a "cousin cohort" - both my sister and brother are local, and among us we have 6 kids under 8. The eldest is the only one "in the know", and only for the first time this year.
You are right L. Kids appreciate the magic of Christmas. And they remind us of that magic that we have forgotten about.
it is thank you peach. this time last year wasn't as it was when the bairn got hit by a car and we were in hospital with her but i can relax this year and hopefully all will go well
firewords! tx all cluers - penny ar6 & 7 were my last
the ce6/27 is ce plus tear paper plus consonant gapeach
That will be a great christmas than dan with all the young bairns
Congratulations dan2bit on your fireworks!Good for you
Wtg dan!
they do Molly, which is sad in a way, that as adults we forget it
by the way molly, it's really good to see you again:)

Hello Nef! How are you doing today? Welcome to chat log
Hi Min. I've been here off and on for a couple of hours; I did forget to say Hi to you when you came on though I think.
And I'm doing okay. My daughter took the grandson to the Holidazzle parade tonight (in downtown MPLS) and he's spending the night at her place; so it's peaceful here
Oh! She ust sent me a pic of him on Santa's lap! :-D
(nd my keyboard is dying, so typos are due to tht)
help with first RE 6/24 please
It is peaceful here too. Husband is away until tomorrow.
re 6/24 word is plural of the re 5/14 word wvteach & hi!
where'd he go, Min???????
thnx min - had the re 5 going the other direction - duh
hi wv
hello all - just finished baking a batch of cookies and can focus on babble now
wht kind of cookies, wv?
snickerdoodles
YUMMM! I love those; but have never tried to make them
love snickerdoodles
love them
crave them
i never bring home sweets. i just crave them.
Nef, hubby is in Pennsylvania for work. Was supposed to be there all week, but he fractured his ribs & just went back to work today.Goes back to PA next week
and never bake
oh no!
how painful.
I my bring them home but usually don't crave them. (my aa key isn't working
if i have sweets in the house i eat them all at once. it's silly.
they are easy to make - love baking cookies - but give most of them to others
no stove at the moment or i surely would bake things. just love cakes and cookies.
ca 5/12 please?
why no stove, mb?
if it is plural of the four, then i need that too.
it is broken, nef. can't get it fixed just now.
I ca 4/5 for you, & pl
oh for heaven's sake. thank you nef.
do you have aa microwave??
yes. and an electic griddle thing.
ca5/12 word is third person singular of ca 4/5 word mab
thnks min. got it. sometimes i look for something difficult when it is just a simple world. silly.
the N words are not all related am i right. i have two that are
all related
clue please?
synonym for a porn movie
hmm that is strange i tried that word 3 tiems before as that is what i thought it was and now it worked
** finito ** last word CE 7/36
yay wv!
Congratulations wvteach on your fireworks! Good for U!
wv could you clue that word please?
YAY, wvteach!!! WTG!!!
xmas miracle mlfan
sounds like miss Piggy's BF, pl
ty got it
good clue nef
A ce7/36 is plural of a ce6/24(ce plus hook plus greeted)
Hello MLFAN17! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
4 letters in the grid greyed
Hi Min
one fo the qu words is if you go to look for someone or something.. you could go on a qu***? Can someone clue the other one please i know its the same stats?
frequently seen here in Babble, old hand mill
(just go down from the vowel)
iunder the qu is another u?
under oops
wrong vowel
nothing else below it
qu u
use the OTHER vowel
i knew that:)
got it i googled it
ty nef
can anyone clue the me5 please>?
me5/16 word has double consonants in the middle MLFAN
got it should have thought of that thank you min
yw
i have th 5/12 is the other th5 similar?
evening all :)
hi es
hi all
hi jmc
hi jes & jmc
whats up?
i am working on the grid until hubby wants to go to bed
I'm relaxing
i am trying to relax enough to go to bed. . .
what is your icon, jmc?
my wedding photo. . . i was telling ru a while back about how i bought the dress for $10.
i made the he** band
how's everybody?
jes, do you have 3 new kittens now?
hi jes
hi jes, jmc
I actually just re-homed them, I was trying to update my profile and it kept failing.
kitties!
ws it an antique? It looks beautiful
motherless kitties!
Hello jmcnrick! How are you doing today? Welcome to log
'course, it also still shows me the picture of the pig if I go to my account info.... so I'm not even sure which picture you're seeing!
Hello jesdraggon! How are you doing? Welcome to the log
Does the RA 7 come from the third column R?
you are guiding them to food in a dish
MLF - yes, and its plural ra7.
Hello all.
no it was just a cheap cotton dress on sale at Macy's
MLF - Have you got the th5/14 you asked for yet?
the one in your hands looks just like my now 17 year old cat when i first got her
no only the 5/12
is the picture reasonably sized? I have had issues with it uploading pics so big they can't really be seen in the past...
jes it looks like a dot or a star
It's too big to be seen, jes but hasn't widened the chog.
it is large. . . have you tried opening the picture in paint and then resizing?
Yeah, I did that.
well i am off to bed. . . see you all later. . . .
MLF - clue for the th5/14 - th* (definite article) + abbreviation for the land of the maple leaf. Hope that helps!
did you use the resize button or resize with the corners? use the button at the top is better
sleep sweet, jmc!
bye all!
now i have both th 5's
'Night jmc. Sleep well.
I used the resize thing where it lets you change percentages
ty jac
niters jmc!
y/w, jmc.
I'd like to resize too :D
Goodbye jmcnrick! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log.
I meant y/w MLF!
me, too, lol...
*checks percentage's*
Lol, ruru.
i'm not sure we can open you in paint, ruru...
:D
Hello rururocks! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hi min.. nice to see you
We could try, jes! If it works on ruru, I'll have a go myself. :)
lillian was asking about you earlier, ru....sorry she missed you....
i'm glad she's been coming back penq...that's great news
may i have clues for the second and third re 5/14s please?
no, the third and fourth! re 515
sorry
The re 5/14 has double consonant in the middle of it mab
third and fourth re 5/14 s
And that third re 5/14 word is re plus accomplished mab.
Did that make it a better size?
I will trade clues for the ch0 for the ac 8
mab - 3rd re5/14 is having done again. 4th re5/14 is to dunk something in again.
ch9 that is
yes, jes
yay!
thank you min and jac!
but now when i click on your icon i get the tiny square within a square....
bogster - ch9 = what you are like (personality wise) or a ch9 in a book or film.
I have the 9 looking for the ac 8
bogster - if you are of good ch9 - you might get the job. If you are not, you probably won't.
it builds on the ac 6/27...
ac8/55 - someone who ac6/27s.
one who ac 6s
ac6 - I ac**** your invitation. Now i'm an ac8
mab - y/w.
tks - never would have thought was a word
hfepter
Not a grid word, bogster. :)
I know - was not paying attention to where the cursor was
not a word in enable either apparently :D
thinking while strumming fingers on keyboard
a hfepter is a buxom helper for hugh hefner?
lol
Lol, ruru!
he loves those Bfunnies
Tee, hee! at ruru's comment.
However, if he hasn't got the ad7/36 yet, it wouldn't hurt to take the hf off the start of the bunny club word.
I'm going to wander off now. Not sure when I'll be back, so I'll wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year now. xx
me too.. i'm really tired.
I can't keep my eyes open
interesting way to offer a clue
maybe a nice nap will help
I like to be subtle, bogster. Off to examine the inside of my eyelids for a while now.
go slow and check for leaks
cracks
heading to bed....g'nite all!
sleep sweet, penq
ty...bye!
i hope your eyelids don't have cracks, ru - if they are dry enough to crack, you should moisturize! :D
Goodbye penquis! I'll see you tomorrow in the log maybe.
hi folks, 14 to go

g'day jane. what sort of film is anchorman?
anchorman2--it is a sequel to Anchorman, slapstick comedy set in the 80's starring Will Ferrell
will ferrell not so bad. did it make you laugh? haven't seen the first anchorman film. did i miss anything?
I didn't see the first one either, but I thought it was extremely funny! silly!

it's hot over here, plus the trauma of the surgery. my body doesn't like it. good you are okay. how's the weather? you not snowed in?
the snow is almost all melted here, yay
oh, yay...happy days ahead
it will be warmer tomorrow and then in the 60's on Sunday. going to have to get out the bathing suit, NOT
