I'm have to keep the phone near me in case mrs. Ru..needs me
ru, does she have a disease like rheumatoid?
Yes. But it is mostly her older dog. If would need to help her.
I am sure that is a great comfort to her; sure would be to me
She has a former of rheumatoid
For
Form..damn it
I can definitely empathize.... mine has deteriorated a lot this past year.
We are getting along better now...so if am not as pissed...off
That IS fantastic!
I..becomes if ..This phone sucks...
I hate auto correct on my phone.
I'm gotta find a way to turn it off
A friend told me it is possible.. perhaps under settings. I just haven't taken the time to find it.
I've
No luck there for me. It should go to Verizon to have them help me
I'm really had a funny one with one of my wineries
I was so proud of myself today... stupid HP printer showed a paper jam I couldn't find... went online to find instructions, went step by step and after an hour of losing patience, I fixed it :)
funny text from your winery?
I'm share your pain on that one dee...
I'm was writing to the accountant about a restaurant that was past due and asked her for a copy of the invoice
my old HP was so easy to fix and unjam... this one has been a nightmare from the start
and?
And that this account was a great pay..but it came out that this account was a great lay...
LOL... ouch
She wrote..Gee in didn't think you knew them That we'll
nice she had such a great sense of humor
I'm was mortified
@aaaaaaaaah
I think everyone has experienced similar auto corrects...
I'm guess..I'm always try to be professional with them
I'm sure they know that, too.
what made it so comical, I am sure
Why is I..coming out I'm

Yep. ..that was a doozy...

How did it go today Rose
oh, dear!! i hope i haven't insulted you, ruru.
No .but it have a link from an employee that is need to check out
pugs, i am on my way again. the new regimen of meds is working really well.
No not at all GR..
i worked hard in the pool. to the physio's and my delight...
GREAT! Rose---I prayed that it would go well and no pain afterwards too
that must of made you feel good too
Ruru turning off auto correct is usually in the message/text settings.
Hi witchy
ruru, whenever don gets a new piece of techno, he rarely looks at the user guide. then wonders why he can't work it out. lol. i thought that maybe a problem with you also. it seems to be a male thing.
Let me look at that
-hi pug and all
hi witchy
hi folks! finally nbt but still no 7's, good trick, huh?
Hey Rbud
rbud, ce7, concrete + a vowel
I think I may have done it..thank you witchy
and lol, rbud, how frustrating
it sure looks like it ruru...no ifs, i'ms for I
thanks! got it. :D
I switched off predictive text.
that's the one, ruru. i turned it off on my phone.
<--- loves her relatively ancient plain old Nokia ♥
What a relief
it rings, I answer, I want to call, I call. No camera, no internet... all I want in a cell phone. :)
Ok off to bed...to plot for tomorrow
with you, rbud. phones are for making phone calls and sending/receiving text messages ONLY. my nokia has a QUERTY keyboard which i fi4 so easy to use.
night Ru
g'nite ru, plot well. :)
*giggle* ruru. hey, mate...i am so pleased about you and mrs ru.
Glad it help ruru
plus my phone is so tough - it's taken a lot of abuse over the years and just keeps on working. amazing.
rbud, i have to admit, the camera on my phone does get a workout. with 3 grandkiddies and a hubby doing the darnedest things, i just snap the moment.
kid has cracked his screens a dozen times on his latest whatever - he always wants the latest models.
camera might be cool, but I have one of those. a nice 35 mm old school expensive one. still love it, too.
rbud, hubby has a hard cover for his phone pad which he flips shut whenever he is not actually using the phone.
yeah, i know rbud, but how often do you have lying around ready to use?
I don't buy our son phones, he gets them here and there. always trading up and around. so they're his problem.
yep, that's the problem. I do have a decent little digital camera, but the old one's still lots more fun. getting harder to find places to develop the film though! the old school stuff is dwindling away. :(
wish I still had my darkroom equipment, I was serious about photography back in college.
lol, like us...
rbud, hubby is going to set up a dark room in our garage. he is a professional photographer.
oh, neat! I don't claim to be professional, but I did used to enjoy trying for artsy shots... and I went through a B & W phase, still have some of those framed and hanging around the place.
does he do portrait type stuff? or work for a paper or something? or freelance?
(so nosy... sorry...) :)
it was so funny! yesterday, we were watching grandson's football match ( aussie rules ) and don was taking photos. as usual he adopted his professional posture, which makes his body a tripod. my son was having a quiet chuckle to himself. but when said son saw the pics, he was gob-smacked.
not nosy, at all. he has been made redundant by the university. i have to admit, he has a beautiful sense of what is worth taking a pic of. one of his photos...the silhouette of a sheep against a gorgeous sunrise. and another was an harbour, full of sailing boats, and the water was so smooth it was like a mirror.
sounds lovely! there's a lot to be said for old school - too bad so few appreciate it these days.
rbud, he has promised himself never to do another wedding...at least not professionally. but he really can't stop himself when it comes to the grandkiddies.
well of course! :D
signing off, nite rose, nite anyone else around.
night, dear rbud. hope you have sweet dreams
good morning all :)
good morning friends. can't sleep, bu happy to be here
*hugs Trif*
hugs sprite back!
and hello to you, my darling sprite. and {{trif}}, long time no see, dear.
hi rose! *hugs*
indeed granny!
it is an aussie grid, I see
so how are you today, rose? Legs more quiet now? Any luck sleeping?
are you well, trif? and sprite...how was your weekend?
and you, Trif? How is life for you atm?
my weekend was LOVELY
*giggles* Snap, rose
oooo sounds good!
and I have today off from work, as a personal day. was supposed to be visiting a college with secondo, but she has changed her mind about it, which is fine with me, as that one was a five hour drive away
tell all, trif...c'mon spill...
that is nice, Trif. Sorry you can't sleep, but you seem to have picked a good night for it ;)
all - mr hate had the girls, so I got to spend most of the weekend with my dear valentine. HEAVEN
oh, so wonderful, trif.
oh great, so Valentine is still there for you... am so glad :D
he is so good at knowing when we need to cut loose and have some fun - so saturday night we checked out a absolute DIVE bar near his new house, and ended up having a blast. the band was rocking and a night of dancing like an idiot was just what I needed to shake the cobwebs off.
how long is it now, trif? that valentine has been in the picture ?
sounds wonderful :D
funny you should ask, grannyrose, we were just calculating that this morning over brekky. Fifteen months and going great.
lucky you, trif. nothing like a wild night to stir up the juices...
such a lucky man to have found you
wow!!! trif...how wonderful.
sometimes you just need to dance like a fo4. At least I do anyway.
dancing is a miracle
sprite, I am the lucky lucky lucky one, believe you me. He is far from perfect, of course, (he has abysmal taste in movies) but he is perfect for me.
:-(....wish i could...my days of vertical dancing are over...unless it's a slow waltz....now horizontal dancing....that's another story...lolol
tsk, screw that, he is the lucky one. You are a beautiful, fun, wonderful lady.
I hear ya, rose, lol. Same here.
I heard an expression once: dancing is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire.
thanks sprite - and RIGHT back at you!
*giggle*
lol almost what we say here in dutch. Dancing is the vertical translation of what is a lot more fun doing horizontal.
One person has written (and there are others): Relationships are not designed to be a lifetime love nest where you live happily ever after. They are designed to teach you something. In the process of learning, love may come, love may stay, and love may go. But regardless of how it turns out, the odds are already stacked against you. When you meet someone, there's a 99 percent that the relationship will fail. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/940711
in any language, it's pretty true. and should tell you a LOT about what being married to an irishman was like
**** o-o ****** hello my dear man. are you coping with life well, mate?
wow, that is very profound, o-o. I have to say, I agree
hey o-o, great to see you. Yes, and I would add to that, that unless you grow and develop together in a relationship, it is doomed from the start.
truest words ever, sprite. if one of the people seeks only to control and put the other down, DOOM
i married my best friend...after my beloved robyn, of course.
so true.
*hugs rose* And you deserve double happiness.
sometimes - and only in my weaker moments - I find I resent that I only got to me4 valentine now, when we don't have so much time together. but then he reminds me - we had to walk the paths we walked to find each other. had we met 15, 20 years ago, we would not have been the same people, and may have never "happened". And then I teasingly remind him that if we had met in his 20s he would have gone to jail for dating me, a mere child :P
i think that's the key...which so many of our kids lose. make your life-partner your best friend first...
lol, trif
lolol Trif! Yes it is true, sometimes you need to 'ripen' before you are ready for a certain relationship.
yes. he didn't know he liked redheads.
cane
rats. sorry
it is what we teach our kids here... forget how he or she looks... can you laugh with him/her? Can you really talk together? Ok, in that case, our blessing.
Morning all. Chris and I have been together for nearly 34 years and when I think of all the ups and downs we have been through adn yet are still together. I believe that you have to truly work at any relationship, not run at the first sign of trouble
absolutely sprite! what great advice!
More good news: Is Pessimism Genetic? Research Shows Your Outlook Might Be Cloudy By Genetic Design http://tinyurl.com/paj582n
amen to that, xei! Same thing here. Wouldn't have worked out if we had not been really dedicated to staying together and working through everything.
you know, friends? when i look at photos of don, as a young man, and he looks at photos of me, as a young woman...we have decided...if we HAD met at that time...we would have been just as much in love as we are today.
I can honestly say this - what I was looking for in a later in life person was a FAR cry from what I thought I wanted and needed as a young'un
xei...your words are so true.
interesting, o-o.
awww that is so sweet, rose
oh, that is lovely, granny.
I have a friend my age who still is looking for a partner... and is still focussed on how he looks. I told her to grow up and go for someone to share life with, not someone to look at.
the recptionist at my old job met loser after loser after loser. I told her to look for a church going man. worked for me, anyway
thanx, o-o. will check it out tomorrow. not that i devalue what you have written. but don is pretty stringent on costs...and our download limit is past the time of this month. i have to use off-peak time.
hm, no guarantee there, Trif. There are as many hypocritical church goers as consistent ones.
trif, tell her to go to a baptist church...man...those baptists are so horny...lol
see, that is exactly what I mean, sprite. mr. hate is GORGEOUS, wealthy, and seemed so exactly perfect when I was younger. I was head over heels with him, as he seemed exactly what I should want. But I can tell you, from the very start I knew he wasn't as nice as he should have been. he was so...cutting. not encouraging, and SELFISH from day one. If I had been stronger in my sense of self, I would have RUN
but I have three beautiful children that I will never forget. so there is that
granny, my goodness! hahahahaha
ditto trif...
and spoken like a true european, sprite :)
well i should know...i married one...
lol, is it? Didn't realise we europeans were of one mind about this.
I am only generalizing, of course, but in my experience? Yup.
Working to make a relationship last is a concept many have no idea how to implement. So many have had bad examples. In my view, all is trial and error, and there is no one exemplar.
my love isn't a churchgoing man... but he is the kindest, warmest, funniest, sweetest soul I ever met.
they are not mutually exclusive, sprite, in any way! I just sort of sensed she would have better luck in a church than in the scuzzy other places she was trolling. mind you, she never said no to ANYONE that asked.
oh, don't start me on bad examples, o-o... my parents were the epitome of being hateful to eachother. And to us. Thank God we can learn later in life how to be better about relationships.
hmmm, o-o. if we listen and observe our spouses, there is no guess work involved. one needs to have a loving heart, and a clear idea of what one will accept.
sounds like she would benefit from some work on herself first, in my opinion, Trif. To value herself more. To find a great partner, you first have to be a great partner :)
mr. hate and I fell into this awful pattern where we bickered and picked at each other all the time. I have made a very, very conscious decision to NOT be that way - ever- with my dear Valentine. if there is something that really needs to be discussed, then so be it. but stuff like bad movies? I could care less. I bring some knitting, and happily keep him company while he watches them. At least I get to be near him, and sometimes I put my foot down and insist that we watch something with a good plot, and where no one catches on fire, which seems to be paramount in his viewing choice....
That may be true for you, granny. Many have never acquired the skills you speak of.
I am with o-o on the trial and error. Sometimes you think what you do is just fine, or you don't think at all because to you it is normal. And then you find out it isn't either of those... and you change things... and it gets better.
I am only halfway with you on that one, sprite. there are a lot of shades of normal, and just because I might do it differently, doesnt mean I am doing it wrong. But I also agree that there are always new ways of learning to do things. I guess an open mind and open heart are the key
sounds good, Trif. Skills my love and I learned are, among others: not to criticise; to speak up about what we need and want and wish and not expect the other to read our mind; to say 'I' in discussions and not 'You'; to support eachother in endeavors that are important to us.
that is beautiful sprite!
I am struggling like crazy with the line between want/need, and how to express same. was absolutely NOT allowed in my marriage, so its a new skill set for me.
There is no normal except in a statistical sense. Those in a relationship often disagree about what each considers common sense.
hm no, different doesn't mean wrong. But especially when you have grown up in a very screwed up family, you have some ingrained patterns that are pretty sick and you have no idea that they are patterns, nor that they are sick. Until you learn.
need = almost impossible to live without. want = would really really like this to be/happen
I feared that I would be alone too long, and then get so set in my ways that I could not change them.
o-o, it so sad to think there are so many people who cannot communicate their needs...or allow their spouse to voice what they need, without feeling hurt and rejected.
i am not particularly deft at it, granny. I either can't express it clearly, or I DEMAND, neither of which is quite the goal. As I said, I am working on it.
to communicate your needs, you first have to know yourself well enough to know your needs, and then value yourself enough to feel you have a right to try for them.
*hugs Trif* Nobody is perfect, and we all have things we are not particularly skilled in, lol. And still we are lovable.
its definitely the biggest mine field valentine and I walk on. He was bullied, to an extent, in his marriage, so when he feels he is being pressured, or told what to do, he shuts down. so when I get all demanding, no one is going to have a good day. We are learning.
we talk about landmines all the time - it's how we have come to define relationship explosives left by the previous tenants.
good for you trif. i wish you the best. it is so hard to communicate to another person what you actually need..and even more difficult to stand back, and view your beloved's demands dispassionately.
Trif, my love and I went into couple therapy early in our relation because we really had to learn how to communicate. Both coming from screwed up families. And now we are married almost 18 years, together at least 2 years longer.
he doesn't demand a thing. which I have to admit, is both lovely, and wicked irritating LOLOL
how lovely sprite!
trif...you and he....slow down....when one of you demands....the other needs to say....time out...
Concepts like is being right more important that maintaining a friendship/relationship, making boundaries, fighting fairly and knowing when to pick a fight because the issue is so important to you never cross the mind of many.
timeouts are wonderful.
I am just so happy we both found each other. Of course there are things we have to finesse more than other things. but I thank god EVERY SINGLE DAY for putting him in my path. I have never laughed so hard, felt so loved, felt I had so much love to give, or danced so much in my life. He's LOVELY
amen to all those, o-o
yay, Trif! So happy for you!
yes, o-o...so true. and trif...my heart dances with you both.
oh, one last thing that I think is important: show your love. Touch. Hug. Wink. Smile. Put that silly little note in his suitcase when he goes away for the weekend.
granny dear, that is EXACTLY why he and I don't live in the same house, as yet. I am not ready to give up this independence that was so hard fought, and he needs to be on his own for a bit longer. (he was only divorced 2.5 years ago, and needs to grow into himself as a singleton a bit more. being able to have our own space works very well for us right now.
oh, I am ALL OVER that one, sprite, and so is he!
great :) I thought you'd be. Just stating it because it is so so so important.
where is our pug, btw?
in grid news - those upper left o's are poopy little buggers
lol indeed
Hello Friends--had a wind storm here and it knocked out the electric here in the neighborhood
ah, glad to see you, pug! Just was asking about you.
and let there be light--lol
hehehe *hugs pugs*
hugs back :)
any damage puglet?
everyone needs to raise their hands ... since many hands make light work.
i have to admit...i found it very strange that our pugs was so quiet...*giggle*
its still dark out--wind must of blowed a tree over the lines somewhere
pugs is not one to stay in the background...
roflol, o-o
lol-yes that wind just came all at once in a big blast
lol o-o
Morning OO and Tri
just what you don't need, pugs. The weather is evil for you this year.
morning puglet
you can't sleep either, huh?
here is was almost 80 yesterday and now they are calling for snow and a big drop in temps tonight
and you know what? Its a monday-lol
lololol...pugs....
*grins*
Iam almost always up at this time Tri
got a double dose of OO in the grid today-:)
did you get some sleep, pugs, and did your arm behave this time?
good question, sprite.
Arm is fine and yes I did sleep pretty well for a change---How was you day yesterday? Did you get all the things done that you wanted
And Mrs Rose-the electric went out before I got your answer about yesterday
pugs, did you have to apply a compression bandage, or did it settle down on it's own?
am glad, pugs! You were due a break. I am fine. Did all I planned to do, cooked dinner and my love was so happy with it all. So all was good. Boy misbehaved, but not into extremes, just rude and lazy and moody.
it settled on its own and I did watch how I used it
good morning, however late
good morning ruby :)
Morning Ruby
ohhhhh, and here's our ruby...
good for you, pugs
tomorrow I go to the doctor over the sugar thing--so hopefully I will know what is going on there
hmmm, ruby.....define la4....and did i tell you all...we are 'baby-sitting' deacon tomorrow. should be interesting...lol
nice Rose--is he spending the night too
geesh, nbt at LONG last!
pugs, that is so in the fore-front of my mind...i hope the doctor has some answers, hun.
did I run OO off
yay for babysitting! Remember that it is only a matter of speech, rose, or Deacon will end up too flat.
late morning for me, Godgather 2 and 3 were on and I stated up long past midnight....dumb
I still cant believe I got it
But I thought part 2 was etter than the 1st one
nah, pugs...Lucinda is picking him up mid-afternoon.
falling asleep at last. nap time for me. lots of love all
Hugs Tri--hope you can rest now
*hugs pugs* I know, right? Such a crazy thing to happen. Seems it runs in your family.
nice, trif. hope you sleep well, dear. don't forget us. xoxox
nice, Trif! Sleep well, sweet dreams and lots of *hugs*
I wont', not ever!
I guess so Sprite--but looks like I would have had some signs
aagghhh, sprite...we are so in sync...
I didn't have them either, pug. It doesn't always work that way, alas.
we usually are, sister of my soul ;)
pug, you do know it is ok to rant and rave about it, don't you? And to cry and feel betrayed by your body and all that. It is a bit like mourning, to learn you have such a disease. You kinda have to mourn the loss of your healthy body.
I dont like being a wet blanket Sprite--and causing everyone to have a bad though on the days
sweetie, you are not here to entertain us or keep us upbeat. You are here because you belong with us, we are friends. And as your friends, we want you to tell us how you really are and feel.
awww, pugs...you are such a valued friend...if you need to rant and rave....go for it.
all of us go through rough time, whether it's our marriages, children or health, and since we care for each other, it is great to have this place for talking about how we feel
we are all long-distance "sisters"
what ruby said...pugs.
pugs, imagine I would never talk about my issues, only be happy-go-lucky here. Wouldn't you hate it that I kept my pain away from you?
we are, ruby
You guys would not like the things that goes through my mind for I dont like it myself
its you guys on here that gives me hope on the new days and I love each of you very much
it is not about whether we like it or not, pugs. It is about sharing with your friends, so we can see how it really is with you atm. Please tell us. It is a nasty blow to learn you have diabetes yourself.
pugs:EACH OF US FEELS NEGATIE AND SOMETIMES AWFUL THOUGHTS FROM TIME TO TIME; IT IS NORMAL. I JOKE WITH MY FRIEND FROM sa ABOUT SHOOTING MY HUSBAND THROUGH THE BATHROOM DOOR. nOT NICE, BBUT IT IS ALMOST FUNNY
whoops, didn't *** to shout
*hands ruby the gun* my darling...could i persuade you to something more subtle...like poison...
I'll tell you some of my thoughts at that time. 1. f*ck it all, not this too, what am I living for anyway, I'd just as good could be dead. 2. I'll ignore it, so hell if it kills me quicker that way. 3. Woe me, why me, God or fate or whatever are always out to get me. So... what are YOUR thoughts?
since His last bout-I honestly feel my soul and whatever else has just gave up on life and Iam tired of the constant battle and truthfully Iam ready to go home--and if it werent for you all and OO--I have no reason to look for a tomorrow---now thats my thoughts
she and I talk about that awful Pistorius, that's why we make that joke
Whe I had cancer, tthere was a group "Whyme?" And my answer ws always, "Why not me?"
pugs, you do so to have a reason to look for a tomorrow...me...sprite...ruby...liz...\nbarbie...
see, I thought it might be something like that. Pugs, I think it is perfectly normal to have such thoughts and feelings in your situation. It is a helluva job you have there. Please please vent it more... either here or in email or through gmail chat. Please don't try to hide it from us. We want to be there for you.
and as my Mormon friend used to say "God only gives us as much as we can handle" and "What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger"
true, ruby! Best answer ever. But it is also important to allow yourself a bit of self pity. Not all day through, but once a day, to vent and cry and let all those feelings out.
ruby...those quotes are straight from the bible...it is non-sectarian.
But God shouldn't always measure our ability to the very last nanometer!
You have been abused, pug; criminally. You feel shame. You will not forgive yourself for things you did not choose nor have control over. It is easy to say but so hard to do ... you must find a purpose and put meaning in your life. What you have experienced will be extremely difficult to overcome without professional help. Then again ... I am the last one to lecture you.
o-o...please lecture her...your words are so good for her.
o-o... exactly. The whole truth in one paragraph. That is it, pugs. So much that wasn't your fault and that you blame yourself for anyway.
I thank God every day -- for every day. I have lost so many riends and relatives already from cancer that each day is a gift no matter how bad things sometimes get. Unfortunately, I can't cry any more as I am the one who has to hold things together
thanks guys--you all help me more then you know or I can say
we love you, pug. More than you realise. You are important to me and I need you in my life.
ruby, my darling...it is the pits...when you can't cry....
with a big hug for all you friends, now I must make lunch for Mr. Nasty lol
ruby... call me up and cry with me... I am there for you, you know that.
I only cry at movies....lol
as I need you all too :)---and if I can make you guys smile or feel good that makes me feel worthwhile
tell him hi from me, ruby. And take good care of yourself as well. *hugs*
hugs and bye Ruby
lol, ruby...spit in his soup, dear...
rose! Jeezzz!
thats gross
did you every see "War of the Rose?" They do worse! lol
pugs, you are worthwhile just the way you are. You don't have to do anything or make us feel anything for it. Just being you is enough.
I saw half of it, ruby. Couldn't stand to see more. It was so like my parents' marriage.
amen to that, sprite. We love you just as you are, pugs, and if we can make you smile a little, so much the better, little red-haired friend.
a person has to have something to look forward to to want to continue on and though I might drive you all crazy with cards and stuff it gives me a reason to go on
I think the sky has ripped open---its a pouring--lol
you don't drive me crazy at all, pugs. Please keep on writing and sending cards, I love it :)
thanks Sprite--I really try not to over do it--lol

Good day, Puglet.
good morning
crossy, how did you come out on your tests
Hi smores
and smores!!! hello dear
Hey Pugs, Rose
dreary wet Monday
here too Smores
thats ok though...the weekend was beautiful and the flowers need the rain
pugs...i am tired...have been up for over 15 hours...knee okay, dear
I was hoping it would be okay after the work out--so happy for you on that
it's been a while rose...did you have to have knee surgery again?
pugs, i am so good physically( knee-wise)...just waiting for the rest of the body to catch up...
and it will given time Iam sure
yes, smores. last december...it was complicated by the fa4 my mother died 21st november, and the MIL died the day after i was discharged from hospital.
howdy puglet and all the rest coming in. I managed a 90% on last course and am in the 95th percentile over all in the last 4 classes overall with a 97% average in this current English class with 2 weeks to go:)
oh{{ Rose }} I am sorry to hear about your losses.
English is my strong point(though you would not know it by how I type in here!!)

The bunny has improved dramaically, but is mildly disabled now..or needs more time to heal. She is happy and enjoys eating, so that is what matters.

Hey ruby :)
reHi Ruby
oh, my goodness...****ruby*****
Mornin' folksies. t's going to be another great spring day here
I'm glad the bunny is better, disabled but eating and smiling, that's what's important. (sounds a little like me lol)
Hi ruby, granny, puglet, crossy, smores
Hi bichon :)
hey ya bichon....glad for you, dear
hello smores
{{bichon}}
Hi bichon
(((ruby)))
I just planted 6 smalls geranium "cheats" for my holey border and a couple of rock garden plants in my "stump garden" but it is very hard work for me
I wish the da***ed handyman would show up because there are 4 tomato plants and two small tree/shrubs to go in and I can't do them myself
yaaa for ruby's garden!!. No rush. take you time and have fun with it.
It's nice here today and we're going to get drenching rain tomorrow, but then we get back to chilly again
gardening is very hard for old me
it's 15 minutes from pumpkin time. love to all, and xoxox. see you tomorrow...if i survive the grandkiddy...LOLOL
good night Rose--have fun with the boy
I think I missed saying hello to {{bichon}}. Too tired (already!) to scroll down
That's ok.
Sleep well Rose...glad to see you :)
Raffie goes crazy when I plant stuff, grabs the little plastic thingies the plants come in and destroys many of the plants....
need to take a leave too--take care everyone and hagd--:)
and tries to drink from the watering can
bye pugster
{{pugs}}
tc puglet
we had a hard rain all night. SNOW IS GONE! time for canoes, kayaks and hiking day packs and walking sticks:)
Amen mister!
yay for missing snow!
Yay for missing snow! Is it now mud season
X words in the grid
heck with the mud, will canoe till things dry up dry up
I took the fluffies to a dog park on Sat. They came home muddy. Shocking for them
or churn up the mud in my jeep!!:)) boys and their toys:)
brown bichons!
did you take pix?
chocolate bichons:)
I had just brushed them and they were really white and fluffy
No, no pix. They were so tired they slept all the way home and then for the rest of the afternoon
I spend at least an hour/night combing Rufie, partly to cuddle him and partly to look for ticks
Sounds sweet
baby girl is less patient and needs most grooming than she'll permit, but she's getting a little bit calmer every day
have you seen the mini doggie shower/wash off areas you can buy pre-made for your patio, porch or outbuilding. I wish we had one of those when we used to raise pure-bred shepards!
we have a "dog shower" in front of the house but the dogs are so big and strong that it's practically impossible to get them to stand in the tub. Then, when they're clean, they tend to look for the closest dirt to roll in
Mine don't really like the brushing, especially their power puff tails. But, they'll put up with it
back with coffee :)
looks just like the ones at many humane societies, but is not stainless steel, but a single poured fiberglass unit with a drain and a shower wand
we're waiting 'til it's a bit warmer to wash Raffie as there's no way she can be dried
poor ruby, for a little gal, you chose some big doggies:(
I don't have the patience to bathe and dry them. They just get baths when they're grromed, every 8 weeks
I use a comb as brushing doesn't get deep enough. As for Rufie's tail, I comb it like you would a horse's tail as it's about the same texture (and length lol)
First I brush, then comb.
lol 16 and sunny today, minus 3c and snow and ice pellets tonight:(
I can't take them to a groomer for many reasons 1) there's only one in the valley who'll do chows and it's far and 2) the two won't fit in the car at the same time and 3) I can't get them into the car anyway and DH is no help
that's why we never plant till May 24th
poor ruby:) naughty puppies
The "baby" weighs more than 30 kg already (Moose-girl) and has never been in the car and Rufie weighs about 36 kg (80 lbs, so no way with him)
There are lots of mobile groomers. They have vans with all the equiment. Works out wonderfully.
When we lived in Miami (with two other chows) the groomer would come in his air-cont=conditioned van and take them to his salon. And it cost half what it costs here!
or get one of those power wash wands you can buy for cleaning the sides of buildings. They take a soap cartridge and screw right to you garden hose. Tie the pooch to a handy tree, stand back 15 feet, and wash away!
Nobody is that enterprising here, but it would be great. I'd be happy to pay for that convenience!
you can even get those wands with a foaming , soapy rotating brush
With cold water. No way for these babies
good for getting those armpits!
I can't let soap into Marco's eyes. They are very sensitive an he gets an ulcer on his cornea.
I think mine would never forgiv me if I hosed them down (and chows never forget!)
sounds like they all need their own hot tub, nice warm water and in they go!
pampered pooches;)
I just saw pl5 and think I probably belong in the PB sorry
Bichons are very pampered pooches and they don't let you forget it
brb, must go see if I can do something with this beard of mine. I am starting to look like a French- Canadian lumberjack..
did anyody give stats or clues for the x's? N:ot that it matters, I don't even have half yet
Happy Passover Bich
There's a town in Ohio with that name
Hello Molly. Passover comes during |Holy Week. That's interesting.
Happy Passover to all on this list who celebrate. And sorrow for what has happened in Kansas City. Down with hatred
And the Last Supper was a seder
Jesus was in jerusalem to celebrate Passover
Haven't seen the news. What happened in KC?
hello babblers
{{annie}}
3 people were killed at a Jewish Center
Agreed Bich, sad thing in Kansas City. Hi Annie, Happy Passover to you too.
(((ruby)))
oh no
A virulent antiSemite and Klansman went on a shooting spree at a Jewish Center and killed three people
He shouted Heil HItler while he was in the police cruiser
Molly, Thank you and happy Easter Week to you and yours.
I miss the seders of my childhood. The last one I attended was in 1962!
IN Brooklyn there is police protection around synagogues.
Oops, sorry Ruby. Happy Passover to you too. I didn't know you were Jewish.
I miss being with my family and my grandfather and great Uncle saying the Haggadah and us kids giggling and eating matza with horseradish
The name is very deceptive! Thank you, Molly
and dont forget looking for the afikomen
We are MOT ruby and Annie
Oh yes, and chocolate covered matza
Amusingly enough, I always read "haggadah" when anyone here posts hagd. : )
MOT?
Members of the Tribe
Did anybody see the TV coverage of this wonderful pope yesterday? After his solemn service he got out of his little car and walked in the crowd, kissing babies and letting people take "selvies" with him. He could almost make a convert out of me! lol
LOL Molly
Pope Francis is a treasure for this world
I'm glad that there is finally a Pope who seems so warmly embraced by people of all faiths.
selfies* Can you imagine the thrill of having him put his hand on your head or kissing your baby?
He is very brave, though, and I worry for his safety in this dangerous world
He is a wonderful man and pope
As it should be Molly. We are all of this world and must find spirituality when and where we can
Molly, May 5, "24" [the new 12]
Yes Bich, I'm so jazzed that "Jack is back" : )
I ure hope it's good
*sure
time to refuel the brain here. bbl
The best part about the new 24 is it looks like there is no Kim. YAY!!
Oh crap, forget that, I just read that she was added to the last 4 episodes.
Kim is back? Oy. Is Jack going to die again?
24? with Keifer Sutherland? I started that series and was sidetracked. Too many good choices on Netflix. I am going to have to start that one again. I Highly enjoyed it
time to get daughter to school...be back later :)
Most of the seasons were great. A couple not so much. The best ones were in the beginning and the one where "Nixon" is president {Gregory Itzkin]
ok, I must be off to class, but before I leave you it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
A monkey's skull wrapped in leather and paper was used as a soccer ball in the very first World's Cup Soccer Championships in Uruguay.
tc all and happy babbling...poink!
Molly LOL!! Yes, I'm sure there are lots of "Lose Kim, PLEASE" clubs!
e
annie, how did things go with your book trip into the city? :-)
(Housing Works)
Hi Une, Between the 3 of us we donated 25 books. Bobby got 2 baseball books and I bought 4 books. Good day. We ate lunch at the cafe. They have the greatest coffee. Then we took a cab to the World Trade Center. Sad.
Crowds galore.
am sure visiting WTC was very sad but sounds like the Housing Works adventure was fun :-)
It was. Barbara loves HW and do I. It is very relaxing having a cup of good coffee surrounded by books. The staff is terrific.
being surrounded by books is always a treat! :-)

Joey is a handsome fellow.

looking forward to helping set up our big spring library book sale in early May -- always a delightful group of volunteers . . . and sooo many bargains for a good cause :-)

Good Morning Everyone - these vowels are killing me today
Hi River, Vowels always do me in.
River, Did the shot for your back help?
had the shot in my hip on Wednesday - got a couple days of relief but now after sitting for a while it hurts when I get up. Have to stand for a minute before I can walk and then it is OK. So some improvement as I had pain all the time before. Sitting compresses the hip joint that I dont have any more.
thanks for asking
I am still hopeful
Glad youre getting some relief.
as long as I dont sit too long - taking lots of breaks - it will be OK - hard since I work at a desk for my job
Are you still going to Ireland next month? I hope you are. Quite a trip.
the radiologist that did the injection told me it may take a week or more before I really see any difference. I already do so am hopeful. Just wish it took care of all the pain but nothing they can really do when my joint is gone other than surgery
I am - leaving in 17 days
I did get a prescription for pain killers in case. I haven't taken them yet but it will be good to have.
It isnt a week yet so you will see more relief.
I sure hope so
going to put up a pot of coffee...see you all later
bye for now Annie
time for my breakfast - bbl
Anyone still here?
Hi Scrabs!
Buon giorno, mia amica!

Toddlers are exhausting.
That is my house a couple of years ago.

There's such a song?
I never heard that joke before, aeb.
It's one of those silly songs...ce6 mixer, putti, putti...the version she was stuck on was popular in the 40's by Alvino Rey & His Orchestra
Ok, before my time
Scrabbler u r 9 years younger thanI.
I know a lot of good (and not so good) music that was before my time, thanks to my folks
I was a baby in the 40's but my mom never sang that
She did sing some songs I do remember, "You are My Sunshine" and something with little lambs eat ivy
My Mom loved the silly songs. Hut Sut Ralston, Mares Eat Oats, etc.
Aka Mairzy Dotes
Mares Eat Oats is the lambs eat ivy song

Well, if you ever need help entering data, I'm here and can email it back to you.
TX Molly
ok, ty for that!
Wish you were here....I have a great deal for one of the 10 best BBQ places in the country.
ooh, love BBQ
did you get it on Groupon?
Nope--Amazon Local...fabulous deals.
must check into that
Deal Chicken is good, too.
ok, making notes
This deal was $17 for dinner for two including beverage and dessert..not alcoholic beverage, though.
I had a thought (and that doesn't happen often)....you could sign up for the Amazon Local in this zip and find deals for your daughter and her family.
sounds good! well, this was a tuffie grid and I finally finished.. must take a short break and then get that dingdong brochure finished.. ty for the chat and the clues.. bye all!
Good luck with the project, Aloy!
Whenever I see the grid has an X-word I feel this feeling of terror.
Don't fear X's, fnurt. Fear the re- prefix!
*shiver*
60 left and I have done enough. Enjoy the day. See you tomorrow.

ty molly
*coughs*
Oh that pesky pollen : P

Lunar eclipse tonight, everyone feel free to have a nutty today : D

I think it will be daytime for you Ruby. It starts at 1:58 EST.
nuts!
It is light here until 9PM
I'll have another rum and coke anyway
yay, half, just found the pl words
It is a full moon Ruby, and the Blood Moon at that.
maybe my pups will howl, or even husband, in which case I'll shoot him through the bathroom door. LOL
Molly: did you know that at NASA, when something strange happened, they said \'WTD,, over\'?
clue for the ply....please
WTF* spoiled my own joke booh
pl4 architectural drawing, plus vowel for 5, plus vowel and consonant for 6
I think the 6 is churchly
Lots of great abbreviations come from NASA and the military...FUBAR...SNAFU...
snafu, I think, comes from WW2
I don't know fubar....
Ruby is correct
hello erda
I think I am going to get fat as I suddenly have a he appetite
have gained almost 2 lbbs in two weeks
huge*
OH MY GOD!!! 2 WHOLE POUNDS???
I am sorry ruby...I must be extremely dense today, I can't find the ply with your clue.
That's 5 percent
What is ply?
pl, not ply
pl7...sorry ...bad typist too!
all are pla
I know
(don't have the 7)
pl7 is a raised level piece of land
ty, Molly, didn't see the u
Ruby I'm sorry but I don't think 2 pounds on anyone is cause for alarm. No matter how tiny you are.
I didn't either....ty all!
PLhump
and your clue gave me the single u word. double ty
DAMN
Unless the 2 pound gain is on your nose!(LOL)
No, but the eating thing might be. I agree, 2 lbs in't much, but why am I so hungry all of a sudden
two pounds is nothing
I swing 5 pounds back and forth all the time
onn my nose, my head would fall off
R u taking Prenisone?
no new meds, but starving
Increase in exercise = increase in appetite
Prednisone makes one gain weight.
hello all....can i get STATS for the second column A please?
I hope you're right. The first lb was a good thing, all in my calves but this looks like a trend
If exercising makes muscle ...you can gain weight too.
AW4
that accounts for the first lb, but the second OY
ty, zoom....
{{zzoozz}}
Is your weather as wonderful as ours?
Yes , Ruby, It is beautiful today :-)
I always thought that at my ae |||||||9v old), you couldn't ad muscle, but I guess iss Raffie has given me a prsent
You can always add muscle. And sincerely, obsessing over two pounds is not necessary.
age* (ld)
OK, I will forget about getting fat
That's just it. Gaining two pounds is not "getting fat".
un less it's a trend
so excited. this week is the only 1 of two full weeks left fr the school year
Wow, you guys end early Cos.
first week of june. a lot of 4 day weeks ahead.
strangely enough we only had one snow day so we dont have to use oru snow day back ups
Kids do not break up here in the UK untill about 19 July..lol
Sorry if I came on too strong Ruby. But I know a lot of people who have suffered with eating disorders and I'm sensitive to people using the term "getting fat".
When I was a kid in NY, we went to school until the last Friiday of June and started on the day after Labor Day
we start 2nd week of august
which is stupid becuase we get a week off for labor day.
Our school year ended at the beginning of June and started at the beginning of September. We had a full, three month summer.
I just weigh myself every day and try to eat accordingly. I am just much hungrier than usual which is a little bit scary. Maybe I have a tapeworm. Just kidding
That is a big chunk of time off school, Molly, bet you loved tht when you were a child.
My weight has beeSorry to mention it.n stable for so long that this seems dramatic.
Kids should have a summer vacation to unwind and have fun. I am very opposed to year 'round schooling.
When I was a teacher, I used to take summer jobs to fill in the "paycheck blanks"
I think most teachers and people in the education field get paid year 'round now. At least those in the higher levels.
hello everyone :)
when I was a teacher, that wasn't the case and summers were very tough
hello Nan
I know they advertise jobs in our county as "9 month and 12 month" positions. The grunt jobs are 9 month.
Teaching art in a small town was definitely "grunt"
HI --may I vote for a 2 month summer break? Also think compulsory school years should be extended from 12 to 13 --- there is so much more for kids to learn today than when we were young -- trying to cram it all in to 12 years makes thinks too much more intensive and a lot of topics are skipped altogeter. Not good for a well rounded education.
We have term time only positions -39 weeks. These are paid over 12 months. this stops Teaching assistants and the like getting benefits in the holidays.
*things, not thinks
I think many, maybe most, districts have eliminated art and music education altogether
andmaybe even gym
along with ancient world history
Nan, I think an extra year of high school would be great. Most kids are not ready for college at the age they go.
Society, as a whole, is going to pay dearly for the elimination of art and music in school curriculums.
Here in the UK they want to put the age for leaving school to 18 instead of the now 16 years of age.
I think you will find they already have. OK for the academic child but hard on the disaffected one
I've been finding large white grubs, c-shaped, in my little bit of digging. I've been putting them into the fishpond (filled with heron-traumatized fish). Does anybody know if that's a good idea?
Yes, Ruby, Goldfish love grubs.
and what will the grubs become when they grow up
ty, zzoozz
Koi carp love them too :-)
aloof
They could be vine weevils or cockchafer grubs. The fish will love them. Our hanging baskets were full of vine weevil grubs this year. the Robin loved them!
Damn..sorry...going stealth mode..lol
The only grubs we have here are the ones who hang out in front of the 7-11 : D
: D Zoom. Don't forget the sponge : )
lol
I'm getting over my worm phobia except if they're in vegs
I'm sending the grubs to zooz and my lizards to \molly
I can't stand centipedes, Ruby. Imagine my horror when my son decided to keep a tropical one. There was no anti venom for it either. I used to throw the ironing in from the door
Oh, a big thanks but no thanks to the lizards. : O
Once, in SA on biz, I stayed in a rondevel and there was a huge poisonous (I think) centipede in the tub and I had to call the (handsome) game warden totake care of it
That's a good excuse, Ruby
I guess we are all afraid of different things, but NEVER game wardens
You were not a poacher then?
I was still running at that time, and the warden used to run behind me with a rifle, saying "You look like breakfast to a lion" lol
bet that filled you with confidence
I thought he was kidding
I actually ran, solo, in downtown Johannesburg
Good, because he probably wasn't
but I think that was just stupid
I was a BRASH, TOUGH GAL IN THOSE DAYS....NOT ANY MORE
and running in the African bush isn't?
I was a bit compulsive about running but it paid off in the end
Ignorance is bliss, they say
blissful smile!
phantom: catelya
I have just noticed the time. i am off to get meal for the immobile husband. BBL
There are a lot of people who are compulsive about running.
not getting anywhere - time to list, I think
I miss running now that I can't; it was lik dancing
thanking zooz for the al word.
clue for the pl 7;36?
Good Afternoon, Everyone. (Or should I say "Anyone"?)
pl7 is a flat mountain?
Sorry, Nicky, I don't have it yet (just starting) But I will look for it with you
Hi Nef
hi Nef
Nicky, do not have that one.
Hi Hoot
thanks hootowl
yw
hi hego
Hi hego and hootowl
2nd ce 7, please?
Thanks hootowl!
first is vowel added to previous, second is
listed as "place where last supper was served
going to have to think about that one. ty
but I always thoughtit was a place for a religious retreat
aha!
yw Nicky
that makes more sense.
ok
I think I monkeyed it
and I thought the Last Supper was upstairs in a public house.
is the last supper place the ce 7?
probably named after the fact. It was new to me too.
yep
hego, I've been taught it was a private house with the dining room upstairs
no idea - monkeys not working
Do you need a different clue, cyber?
no one really knows.
very true
ce=a penny (minus second cons.) +vowel + my un*** Chris raised me\
very good Nef!
hard to clue
thanks hego.
The Catholics say the last supper was held in a private home, possibly that of an apostle, Nicodemus or Joseph of Arimethea.
a seder
only vowel I can see that works with that is the a, and that's not it
it is in the middle
Yes it does, look at Nef's clue again.
yes it is!
ce + sodium chloride + vowel
only vowel between the t and the c that I can see is the a -- and that word isn't accepted
Kind of odd that the ce7 is defined the way it is. The language spoken by Jesus and his people was Aramaic, not Middle English or French.
There is no T, Nef's clue says minus the last letter
VERY old dictionary is Enable!
oh -- drop third consonant, not the 2nd -- got it - ty
Oh, now I see the confusion. Her clue says minus the second consonant N not the last letter T
hi Moll
OOPS! My clue was wrong! I meant the 3rd cons. not the 2nd!
Hi Hoot : )
I'm sorry
No worries Nef, we all goof on clues : D
If it helps any...there are a lot of 3 letter combo words and usege od double e
usage of ee
di 7, please?
Guess I should have had a 2nd cup of coffee this morning; that's the 3rd time I've said some sort of directions/instructions wrong today already

*Scared that Nef is a nurse : O
I am also
don't worry, Molly, I'm retired (and nothing has been life-threatening -- yet)
last me 6, please?
As a nurse, we have to do the 5 rights of meds and triple check everything else it seemed. But now that I'm retired, I don't NEED to know my right form my left so much and that's where I went wrong this AM
from
I hear you, Nef!
I am confused which doesn't take much. I got the ce7 that was where the Last Supper took place. But could someone clue again the other ce7, please?
concrete + vowel
concrete + vowel, marc
got it thanks
Thanks for all the ce clues i finally have both
when my husband had his dog bits, they mistakenly ave him 5 tetanus shots in the ER
that's like amputating the wrong leg
I can't imagine how that could happen.
he's very passive and was shocky
Unless they mistook tetanus for rabies
still, they are responsible, gosh!
he got those, too
that's worse, Molly
phantom:pelican
People really need an advocate in those circumstances
for sure!
sorry, had a phone call there; but ruby, that's terrible! Someone really blew it (and it had to be written up and reviewed and whoever made that mistake was probably in deep doodoo too!
I hope so.
thanks forte ce 7/36 clue
I know nurses who have lost their jobs from medication errors; even IF the doctor was the one who made the mistake in the first place! I did see 1 resident (last year of med school) who flunked out for the year due to her trying to make a med error in spite of nurses and the pharmacist refusing to follow her orders.
I have heard that medical care in other countries is sub-standard to US medical care. Which is why so many people come here from other countries to go to medical school.
I'm not so sure about that, Molly. The med schools here are considered superior to those in some other countries though; but it may be due to the higher technologies available to med schools here for all I know
had to go talk to the gardener -- last me 6/24, please?
stuck on that one too
Never mind Molly. I think I read your post wrong wrong
i only have dennis the me*****

not sure which would help MLF, probably both! :-)
I can take a hint, so I think I shall wander off for a bit and try to rest while I can (grandson is at preschool right now; possible the only time I can rest today!)
my husband takes a nap a few days a week how long he sleeps varises
my husband takes a nap a few days a week how long he sleeps varies
myhusband takes nap frequently
I've never tried to take naps before; but the last time I saw my doc he advised me to try taking a short nap during the day (no longer than 1/2 hour); so I do try every so often. I'll be back in a bit!

and now it is time for Crossy's quote of the day!!!
Life is often compared to a roller coaster, but I find the Ferris wheel more metaphorically appropriate. On it, we still go high and low; but the pace is more relaxed because there isn't a point in going nowhere fast. It's enjoyable ride because sometimes, if you're lucky, you'll even stop at the top. - xtine
Okay, heading out to make dinner...bbl...maybe...have a nice evening everyone! Nice analogy crossy dear!
