He arrived yesterday. To be honest I have not seen much of it. No special plans except seeing my parents to help with anything they need doing for the day. How about you?

Yes sleep is very important. Horrible when sleep does not come easy.
It comes - in time. The extreme heat we had kept me awake, so now circadian rhythm is way off. I awoke at 7:30 PM yesterday (today)... so it's not lookiong good. I am tired, but only a little...and it's still ove 90F, so too hot yet to sleep

Our temps are not as high as they were. They are hovering around 23c-26c during the day time.

Yes I will be cooking for them today. Although it is almost always the same for my father as he does not like eating lol Mother is tricky as everytime she eats something within 20 minutes of doing so she is being sick or from you know..the other end.

I wish they could definitively figure out what is wrong with your mum. I think hse still has some follow-up appointments upcoming?
She has had most of them now. The hospital did say what they found. Will not say on here. Apart from saying there was infections found. But when she came home from the hospital they did not give her anything for it. So We assumed they will contact her doctor to perscribe the right medicine for her....
Mother went to the doctor with my sister and they said they have not heard anything from the hospital yet. This was two weeks ago....
So my sister phoned the hospital as mother was not well enough to talk to them but they refused to tell her anything as she was not my mother! And so sister phones the doctor who says we can not perscribe her with medicine as we do not have all the results back yet and round and round it goes.
In the mean tie mother is in the middle not eating much as she knows what will happen if she does. Being sick with bad stomach pains and other things.
Wow zooz.. good news/bad news.. but Dx is important. I am surprised they didn't at least prescribe antibiotics right off...and two weeks is a long time to wait. Plus, between heat and "illness" fter eating she might be losing too manyelectrolytes... Can you ring the doctor and request he order her something through the chemist until her next appointment with him (her?). You must be under a lot of stress right now. So sorry to hear this all zooz. Sending hugs :(
Can she hold plain liquids okay, if not too hot or cold? Clear soups, juice, sports drinks???
Meal replacement drinks (Ensure is one brand here)
She drinks water and very weak almost milk coffee. She can not have soups as same result. She has had a few ensure drinks my father has. Those alone aresupposed to keep you going as they are meals in a bottle.

The Ensure is a good start zooz, but likely needs more liquid than they alone provide. (Snap zooz :)
Will she eat rice at all?
bananas? plain chicken? and applw sauce?
Any food is not good news for her bless her. What ever she eats no matter what it is will give the same results. She get bad pains and then she has to rush off to the toilet.
these 4 items (in small quantities) are often given in rotation, one iteme per feeding but eating frequently. They will go a long way if she can masnge.. and Ensure in between.
Apple sauce is a big no no as it is too acidic for her. chiken she can eat but the same result happens. Bananas same thing. Just eating creates problems for her. Bloody nightmare really.
Oh dear, I thought she might tolerate clear broths okay - good for salts and liquids as well. It's not the main thing, but I hope they get you a Rx for some antibiotics before the dayis out. It may be time to be an undignified "squeaky wheel" and give the doctor's office a piece of your mind....
My sister has already given them all a piece of her mind. They seemed non-plus about it all.
So much for that diet then.. pudding pehaps, gelatin dessert might be light enough to fool her system into accepting it?
She will try a litlle trifle pot or a piece of toast just to try anything to keep down. 99% of the time it will be no good but now and again it will be okay.

The weird thing is..my father hates eating and I mean really hates it. My mother loves food and can't seem to eat anything. Typical heh!
hmmm try to pay close attention to anything she seems to tolerate. stay away from fats like butter (though dry toast is horrid) keep up the Ensure meals. They are very important.. and temp may have something to do with it.. not too hot or cold.
I just do not know, TK I am no doctor I though it might be in her mind if after a while you bring things back up or out if oyu get my drift. But it seems to be all the time so there must be something wrong going on.
Can't blame your dad too much, when you lose your sense of taste there is no pleasurein eating, it's jsut a chore. You mum.. gee whiz, I hope they get on it quickly. This is a shocking and stressful situation for all of you. Nothing like trying to deal with a brick wall when you need some help
Mother likes it very hot as she is like me gets cold very quickly. Her bedroom is like a ruddy oven. I tell her it is too hot in here but she loves it. Even in all this heat when she is in her livingroom she had a hot water bottle bless her.
The elderly often feel the chill at much higher temps zooz. That isn't inisua.. when I spoke of hot and cold, I meant food temperature.
Well I had better go freshen up and get ready to see them. Sorry to have burdened you with all the daily troubles of my goings on, TK. But many thanks for all the advice and for listening!
I do understand that she is fearing a reaction to eating, which creates anticipatory anxiety... which can be enough to bring all this on.. but as you said, they have found an underlying cause.. so that must be dealt with. If she got rid of the infection, the rest of thiose eating problems might clear up.

Multimedia, I guess. I use stones to create pictures on slab wood. Or names. Rustic art. I use sticks too. Whatever I find in nature when hiking and kayaking: sticks, stones, acorns, pine cones.

It is my passion but I don't make much money at all. I should go to art shows or bigger markets.

I just returned from the Adirondack Mountains with hundreds of cedar sticks and lots of white birch bark.
The farmers market works for me as it is from 8:30-1. If I really wanted to sell a lot of stuff I would go to weekend shows, but I need free time.
I have a friend who paints on squash and makes all kinds of things and her daughter paints on other things and they have sold their things at a small boutique.
Understand. We do our local Farmer's Market occasionally. Tomorrow is the big Tomato Festival, but I'm staying well away from that crowd.
I have seen the metal art too and it is amazing what people can do with different media.
I started selling my stuff 2 years ago. I created enough art for a few years that I was ready to sell some. Every piece is unique and it is so hard for me to part with it.

He was transported today Nef from local county hospital , thank god, to a much better facility closer to me and he is being monitored because it got so late in the day on a Friday . So at this point not life threatening? He had open heart in his 50’s younger than I am now and he is 78 yrs and they do not crack chests much anymore
