http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14663786/

that link is to an article about it
leslie has the link to the story - still 'breaking' news
thanks leslie - thats so sad - and he has a young chilld
i think he has two children
a stingray barb it says...
he was filming an underwater documentary and was killed be a stingray barb flown to cairns aust
another article calls it a "freak accident" so i guess he wasn't doing anything *too* dangerous
oh that is sad
I just read the story. I never cared for the guy, but it's still sad.My nephew will be very sad. He loved him!
how old was he/
44
also steve foley - san diego chargers was shot dead by a cop today
Good lord! Bad day to be a Steve!
best we stay inside our homes with our computers!

You sister might not care though, Minver!
probably the two I have, lol
lol mymus - i thought that movie was great when i first saw it!
hey hk... do you know who won pov yet?
i finally caught debs number 44
yes
another movie I haven
haven't seen
I liked him when I first saw him in Florida I think with his Dad as a kid

what's POV?
ooh, "lukewarm". score. dunno how I'm going to get the next 100 before lickety's list comes up, though
Bye minver - may see you later - good luck at Scrabble
steve irwins wife is currently on cradle mountain in tasmania
ok don't want to turn another chat into big brother talk, the others are probably getting annoyed :)
surprised that a hiphop word is in the dictionary when so many others aren't
it was yesterday, about this time when they finished - erika was on her like white on rice immediately -using the old ivette line - take me, i really need the money -then will was all over her
sorry, just had the radio on
hello, wait for me, helen!
hiya chic
Hi everyone... Guess I missed the flip
oooh, I've hit a wall... 1/3 done and stumped
clue, melon? (don't think i've noticed a hiphop word yet)
hi huga
hi Hugabugs
welcome to the fray
lot of the same words as in the last grid?
nothing much new to report - everyone is being all civil to each other - erika is going to need some major therapy after the show though, so sad
not so far that I've noticed Ping
no kidding!! children??
oh yeah, helen, she's 'having Mike's baby"! that is too funny!
halfway - but i don't have the 7 or 8 :(
she is so delusional!
chic - did you see the show today? where both guys said it was alll play & boog said erika was going to be so hurt after the show & he felt so bad
yeah, for at *least* 3 seconds, then he went back to giggling
the hip hop word is a ph 4 - was that q answered already?
I figured he just says these things like how bad he feels because he knows these people are on the jury...
didn't catch it if so. thanks, ping.
ooh thanks ping! you're ph 4/6

how shocking. it's hard to believe
yes, we heard earlier, franny - horrible!
what happened to steve irwin?
strange babble problem, when i try to look at someone's profile, it wont show and this little yellow exclamation point blinks nest to my cursor. anybody else experienced this???
what happened to steve irwin?
maybe your browser is blocking your pop ups?
he was killed maynegirl
he was killed by a stingray that stung his heart after diving, while filming a docu
yw again cynan - laila tov everyone.
holy crap. that's crazy
good grief - after all the dangerous things he's done!
i know. i think that's the most shocking part.. that it could be something like that, and it Wasn't a croc
liala tov melon
I'd have expected a snake...
3) (sleepy face)
please help me... who is steve irwin..??
"the crocodile hunter"... was in charge of the Austrailian Zoo. had a show on tv

'night Helen
ok, there are officially no more than 60 words, or so says I
I think there are no more than 86
yours is more likely metal. i just found a couple.
wanna swap clues for what we have?
we might have different words
i hope we do ;o)
i bet so, anything in particular troubling you?
alright, 127 with lickety's list and the tile stats :)
Morning all
that blasted h6/27 has been a thorn in my side for a while now
hiya sprite
what about you forelica?
oooooooo, I want Ornith's list ;oD
metal: a group of 7
Anyone who thinks babble is trying to tell us something, by putting the mincing word in every grid?
me too! um.... lets see, i cant find the 8 for the life of me
I got it thanks to someone's clue earlier
morning all
lemme see if I can give a decent clue for you
Hi MVA
mornin' MVA
the 8 someone else gave a good clue for: tense of ex6/36, contains a religious group
that's the one Ornith, how'd you do that so fast
I type real fast :P
ohhhhh!!! why didn't i think of that?? (probably cause it sounds made-up, like many babble words!)...
yer my heeero Ornith, I finally, thanks to your clue, got that H word
It is a STUPID word, imho.
yw metal!
one thing that puzzles me about some of the words it to go to the definition only to have nothing there
there tend to be quite a few of those, sprite! and today we have a crappy one too :P
yeah, the dictionary it uses is a little odd, metal.
LOL, hep, we do Ornith
he6/27..?..i can fiure the beginning but not the ending
that was my # 86
yeah! its like, YOU'RE the one saying its a word, now ya got nothin'??
th ornith for the ex8!
metal, this is a very helpful site for those missing defs: http://www.infoplease.com/
think a word for a group of three, then adapt...
thank, um... whoever it was I got the clue from originally, MVA
ty sprite
hmm. ac6 anyone?
But I agree, those questionmarks that lead to nothing are also stupid.
sorry, don't have that one yet O
'tata' is SO a word. When my kids were small they tataed all the time.
ac6 = high card and spanish for day
how about the ae? words that start with vowels always screw me up
and "eeped"!
Start with the high card, ornith, then add ***meter of a circle is pi r squared
ty muse
I want 'eeped' too!
ty muse
:) yw
as in, what one did when they saw something scary, sprite
oh ! my goodness ! what a puzzle ?
Exactly! It is so much more a word than the 8 :)
i know! the dictionary is even lost on that one
sprite are u talkin to me ?
i hate how "opate" is a word in like, every crossword puzzle, but its not good enough for babble....
same as 'erse'
Not specifically, Tella, but you are welcome to the conversation :) We think 'tataed' and 'eeped' should be allowed. And the 8 shouldn't.
I think I tried that one too, froelica. Or maybe opeate.
yup, jilli
I think 'erse' is what is left of your arse after the D4 mincing word we get in every grid these days.
I still think the weirdest is the -man words. It's got every weird compound ever, but not "hitman"!
ae + ***i Arnaz, Lucille Ball's husband
hitman is SO a word!
That one has puzzled me too, Ornith.
ty muse
yw
ep 5/14 and 4/6?
ep + subdivision of plays
ep + short laugh
ty again!
ty again
wow awesome mymuse. tx
:)
sprite! *hug*.. that is a very interesting site... thanks!
good evening, all!
glad it's a nice small grid tonight
Happy Birthday Krys!!!

Happy Birthday Krys!!!!
alright, last three :)... second pe5/14, ta6, first te5/12
i forgot that i put that in there when i suggested bridges for today's theme
man, that whole crocodile hunter thing really bothers me for some reason. its like one of those things where you're like "that guy's gonna get himself killed one of these days", but you really expect them to live to a hindred.

haha saintfranny, spoken like a true RI resident
That is sad :(
annnnybody got my last three? second pe5/14, ta6, first te5/12
i just feel so horrible for his wife and kids. she's from near where i live
yeah, she must be a mess! prayers go out to them
Good morning all -- just checking to report that I have returned from my travels to Long Island safely, though frazzled -- I had to Babble away some of the stress and now must go to bed It has been a loooooong couple of days :)

The wife was away on an expedition, I just read. Some homecoming. How does one cope with it?
Poor woman! Their kids are in for a shock!! No idea how one would cope... she has the family to support her...
Good morning all. I don't know how to tell my four year old granddaughter about Steve Irwin. She adored him. So sad.
any clues for the et5/12 before i go back to bed?
e + ta4/5
and his daughter is just old enough to understand that her father is gone.
thanks, mrp. off again.

lol girlfriday, helenkeller has a nice view of Jeff too!
well you know gmta also girlfriday!
Jeff is clearly the hot one, but figured I go for the whole group...!!!
A little more than half is easy. Then it gets a tiny bit nasty :)
samantha joy, whenever i seee your icon it makes me crack up..where is that from? Is it a shih tzu?
fireworks!
Yeah Ornith!
yay ornith!!
there's a man at my work who has the EXACT voice of jeff bridges. its eerie! but i just love listening to him speak because of it!!
had to resort to the a-to-z wordlists to find those last two t-words!
congrats ornith!
yay Orinth
fide
Unfortunately I didn't make the icon and I don't know who did. I use it because it makes me smile every time I look at it
sorry
where did you find it??
yahoo Ornith
On LIvejournal.com I keep a blog there

LOL sprite!!
Krys, only sort of a phantom, cut some off
Krys, loose the last two letters... :)
yes, I have the short one, but it's the long one I keep seeing!

I keep seeing 'decade'
you know it is chj! iwas there 2 remember?
anyone need clues before I go?
my phantom tonight is "tapir"
Ornith, what does the 7 start with, please?
I'm halfway through. Not time for clues yet

i got some ren! (hands a blue pill to rn)
:o)
what are you doing up ren! have some whiskey and hit the sheets!
thanks froe
nooooo, not the blue ones... they make ya crazy and don't let you remember it
And of course, we don't want to be crazy and not remember it. That is missing all the fun.
gee mrp...i don;t have any whiskey...
mmmm..... bluuuueee....zzzzz
hahaha metal and sprite.....
metal...that would be stilnox?? makes me crazy... I don't sleep at all
Last call for clues and then it's bedtime for me
Thanks Ornith, I still need too many to ask for more clues. Sleep well and sweet dreams!
g'night ornith
only blue pills I can think of are adderall and viagra! no sleep from those :P
nite ornith
Whiskey is the Irish one. Leave the E out for the Scottish one!
niters ornith
too early for me , I only have 37 so far, thx Orinth
nite ornith!
not sure what the AUS equivalent is... the one I took was a store brand version of a "nationally known brand"
ambien is blue
yeah, see i was thinking more like tylenol pm
woke up with a hangover from the darn pill
Dangerous, those viagra. What they do to your neck when they stick in your throat... ;)
and ambien. so good.
ok then... night night all!
lol froe!...i don;t want to go crazy and run up and down the highway chasing cars!
'night O, sleep well
The last time I took stilnox, I cooked a gourmet dinner (at 11pm) polished furniture, vacuumed the house and seduced lickety!... don't remember doing any of it!!!
whoa mrp!!!!
well..... sounded like fun to me, but if you wanna wimp out on me i'll have to do it myself ren!
lickety wants me to take more stilnox
LOL!
oops! i said a word!
no i'm in froe
alright. just you, me, some blue pills and the open road
ty froelica!
no problem, mva
I have to remember that name. Stilnox? Sounds like the perfect thing for me, if it makes me do the housekeeping without making me remember it afterwards!
got to go, breafast etc, see you later!
Breakfast. Now that is a good i4.
i want to remember it as well sprite
me too
who thought there would be a little pill out there that made you into Alice from the Brady Bunch :)
lol mrp!!!!
if it includes the hairdo, mrp, count me out
does it include sam the butcher?
it comes with the uniform and the date with sam the butcher
we can cjhange the hair froe
and the laugh track?
sam the butcher - free meat!!!
It doesn't matter, you won't remember it afterwards.
i think my life would be much more fun if i had my own laugh track
too right Krys! It would help me make more sense!
but there could be photos... so the hairdo does matter!
I would forbid photo's. There are limits.
Sprite, it is the constant reminders... the testimonals from family and friends... that gets ya in the end! no more pills!
oh no... permit photos... you can sell them
make a tidy profit
mmmm.... vodka tonic with a splash or orange. its good for what ails me!
I was sent photos from a party last saturday night... Oh Boy!!!
Ok mrP, if you say so :) I would want to remember the seducing part, so I guess you are right ;)
ooooooooooh
party photos are always interesting
I was photographed in a dress... that wasn't mine!!
iwant it quick and easy! passing out
was that wassups party?
lol mrp!!!
good morning everybody:)
It was your evil twin sister, mrP!
cause that one had some funny photos
back soon, must look to see what colour pills I can find
that
ooops sorry !
thanks jean, thats a facepalm for me
cookies for jean
what kind do you want
Must have been sprite! cause I would never wear a white mini with those coloured undies!
you go girl!
Argh! Shoot the photographer!
froelica, what is a facepalm?
face in the palm of your hand?
its the movement you make when you discover something stupid you missed
the hand motion that goes with "doh!"
lol i was trying to work that one out sprite
Ahhh... of course! Thanks, learned a new word :)
so that's why my face is always red!!!!
That's why I have such a flat forehead.
i guarantee it wont be in babble's dictionary!
i wonder if doh could be the 8th dwarf in snow white?
hahaha!!! he'd look kinda like homer, but shorter
If Snowwhite was being made now, he would be.
oh can we please do a rename of the dwarves!!
i like surly!!!
Doh, zzzz, hahaha....
surly, cranky
Ok, Doc would be...?
surly, cranky, zippy, diesel, scooter, zoom, and doh! those are my vote
doc could be smart@$$
Good one, froelica!
there you go!
(having a difficult few weeks with doctors, letting it slip into babble life) :)
good ones krys!
perhaps my dwarves are a little overcaffeinated.
and snow white? do we need to rework her?
Aren't you well, froelica?
Definitely, renfield!
yeah, they'll figure out whats wrong eventually, until then i'll just be seeing everyone in town and giving them all my money!! but yes, as long as i can drink my vodka tonic, i'm ok. thanks sprite :)
(((froelica))) that is a very unpleasant route you have to take! Hope they find some answers soon.
i hope you live in a small town froe!
I think at least one of the dwarves should be sneaky
I'm going to sign off and finish tomorrow - both my husband and my cat have fallen asleep on me. finally got the hint.
froe, tell them to FO (that is my answer to just about everything... sorry!) and demand the blue pills!
biggest town in oregon, though that's not saying much.... but thanks ren!
Oh yes, I like sneaky!
i 2nd the blue pills!
sneaky dwarf!! Love it!
I'd suggest the no cure no pay approach, froelica :)
HAHA!!! i know, that's my mom's advice when i call her. she goes "do you have a glass of wine in your hand?" i go "no..." and she goes, "get yourself a glass of wine and call me back" . so cute :)
'night Krys
Ah, that is SO sweet! Must be a great mom, froelica!
go into the surgery with your mp3 and record their conversation... put it right on their desk and tell them that this is for the law suit... they will give you blue pills... promise!!! :)
nite krys!
i think thats how it should work, sprite. you pay for what you get, no what they guess
Sleep well, Krys

And Ta6/21 that starts out like carpet. It is tissue or membranes.
Still in process, mrP. I sent in the report and now I have to wait.... and wait... and wait... for the other party to react :(
Ow, and I just found another Se6/21 that does what the blue pills are for. Make you very sleepy.

chj Is mandelbaum an almond tree?
i like the idea of a sneaky swarf. he'd put thumb tacks on people's chairs and switch their mouth wash with dish soap
Start with what they use in CSI to set off a crime scene. Then first 2 letters of what we all have to pay and not like to pay.
dwarf*
its a famous ta***** that shows the battle of hastings i think
That's the word I mean, chj!

Was it that bad, mrP? Errr... like ribbon?
Sneaky's also the one who mixes the batches of fudge made with ExLax
Ishult: Ex6: used to be in a religious group. Ex8: past tense.
no no no sprite... I just got the flash of music through my head from the beginning of CSI miami !!
yess.... mmmyesss.... *wrings hands diabolically*
I just watches 4 episodes in a row yesterday evening! Couldn't get to sleep :)
Good morning all.
morning haz!
good morning Haz
Ec7: like the ideal world Ut.... but starting Ec.

i can feel my pulse in my lip... hmmm.... i love the human body it makes no sense
Hello mrpresident - how goes the nursing of the invalids?

Hi Haz *hug*
Yeah chj!
pyros chj!!!
how are you doing that froe?
thanks sprite
Good morning jean, sprite, renfield, metaleather and all others. Is it a nice grid today?
thanks frick
hello haz! the fever has passed and everything is calm again in the household... all back at work and school... peace!!!
Makes perfect sense. If there was no pulse in your lips, they wouldn't be so pretty and red ;)
you'll pay chj!
i think it was itching and i scarted it too hard. now i feel my pulse in it. its quite entertaining actually...
breakfast at tiffanys is on
scratched*
chj gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
i love that cat
Finally got the 7&8, thanks Sprite
what will i pay for?
i can't fins a pulse in my lips - i think soemthingmust be wrong
yw, Ishult :)
50 words to go, gonna take a break and do some work!!!
froe... you bored darling!?? let's talk about renaming snow white then
hhehehe!! try scratching it for a while, you'll find it ren!!
yeah, mrp.... i've been staring at the grid, not finding anything and scratching my lip.
Glad to hear it mrpresident!
ok i'm rally a cheap date now
hey ren did you see my updated bio?
thanks froe!
yes! you have to explain please
later
so is one of the dwarf called scratchy??
'Pause as everyone reads chj's updated bio'
when nut is around
it must be mrp!!
Lol, that is funny!
oh chj!! you tryhard!!
*refills vodka-tonic-orange and eyes the little blue pills on the desk*
blue pills......
If the pills start talking to you, you need one, froelica!
ok, back to renaming the snow white girl... in my opinion, she is a bit on the edge... living with 7 midgets... and she has birds and squirrels in her hair
And a squeeking singing voice... and alltogether very stupid too.
razor's edge
chj I only asked about mandelbaum because years ago I had a Jewish friend and when his family arrived in the UK they changed their surname from Mandelbaum and he said that it meant 'almond tree'.
wait that's been done
not "talking" yet.... they're merely glancing over at me like "do, de do, de do..... i'm just sittin over here, minding my own business.... i don't really care if you take me or not"- kinda look
how about Slutitia Divine instead of Snow White
i agree about snow white. she's gotta be neurotic. you remember the state of their house when she found it??!?!
hahahha!!!
glancing blue pills... mmmm.... not talking yet! ... have another vodka tonic orange and get back to us!! :)
or Mistress Slutitia? AFter all, she does have the fellas doing all the work
hey hey
thats the plan mrp!
slutiata... nice russian name!
she cleaned house then after all was said and done, she brought out the whips and chains
back again, didn't find any blue pills, pity the house could have done with a good spring clean, never mind at least i don't have the problem of finding someone to seduce!!!
mandelbaum, mandelbaum, mandelbaum
hi all!
Hi Fran
oh leather! she wore silk and lace!!
*scratches lip*
FFFFF Fran!!!
hey fran
Mistress Slutitia Mandelbaum it is.
hi metaleather!
just starting the grid now, how is it going?
hi Fran
grins, that was only when the cameras were rolling. she brought out the more interesting clothing and toys once taping was done for the day
hi mrp and rennie!!
hi andree!
mandelbaum mandelbaum mandelbaum is from a seinfeld episode that lloyd bridges appeared in
ok froe -i've scratched my lips and i don;t think i need botox nor lipstick on them now...
hey chj!
Good morning FranMag. Not long started myself but it's okay so far.
hi haz!
It is fun, but there are some stupid words, Fran!
speaking of changing names, frances, it reminds me of my nextdoor neighbor on long island who hated his name, marshall kieselstein
Also I am getting very very tired of having that D4 mincing word in every grid.
i told you ren!! they get plump and red and inflamed and then you should be able to feel the pulse
so he went and had it changed legally.....
hi sprite! just found our one "modern" urban reference p4
to bert kieselstein
oh good lord!\
lol chj!!!!!
lol chj!
hehehe
true story
kiss my kiesel!
bert bert bert
LOL!
dont mind if i do mrp
Doesn't have the same ring to it!
ooooohhh... theres a special on the beatles. i have a segment of a lennon song tattooed on my back i love em so much
lal frances
moon river wider than a mile
im crossing you in style some day
LOL!!
i want to feel a pulse!!!
Good thing we have a lot of bridges for you to choose from chj
imagine..froe
Come and feel mine!
or all you need is love
LOL Sprite!!!
hehhe ren! maybe i'm just weird and i can feel my pulse in werid places
maybe i;m not alive???
All you need to feel your lips throbbing is a good kiss, right? ;)
actually, chj, i picked "across the universe". its the sheet music for the chorus, tattooed about 4 inches long. i love it!
lol sprite!!!!
oh sprite!! I agree!
love that song...theres a good cover of it that i hear at starbucks all the time...dont know who does it
ren, its okay. i think i'm just a weirdo!!
back into lurk mode and working on the grid for me, I want to see if I can get these last 33 before sunrise and beddy-bye time
ren proably knows
well froe - you have givene me a task
Of course you are a weirdo, froelica! You play babble!
fiona apple. i looove her cover too. its the first way i heard the song, fell in love with it, then heard lennon sing it. most beautiful imagery of any song i've ever heard
probably joan jett chj....or the oakridge boys doing mississippi river dance
yes she does a good cover, but i think theres another with a male voice or voices
i love that i've influenced you in such a positive way ren :) !!
can you please give me a clue to the m word
sorry- i'm laughing to hard to type
sarah, it's a skirt length
oh froe...youre so young ...and didnt see the beatles when they first started
my lips are bruised from scratching them so much - i have blue lips but no pulse
ren, have you tried clamping down, sucking your lip back and then ppppfffffff and then clamping down again??.... oh my!! what am I typing about!
someday, i swear, you'll be sitting somewhere... scratching your lip.... thinking of me and desperately seeking a pulse!!!! hahah!!
hahaha...the oak ridge boys...i never
LOLOL!
or m4 is also an electronic interface for instruments and computers
i know chj!! it isnt fair that i missed out!!
M4 is neither mini nor maxi.
i saw them on ed sullivan in 1964
with topo gigio i think
hunting for a pulse w/ topo gigio? i don;t think so!!!!
hey ren...give me a kiss so i can see if your lips are still working
yeah i've seen that footage.... in my history of rock music class.... *blushes at my own youth*
And did you think they were good at the time? I'm old enough to remember them at the beginning (just).
Pyrokynetics :)
be back in a bit
my god froe...john lennon was already dead before you were born
yay sprite!!!
wtg sprite!!!
i'm just glad that someone's heard of that song. people will ask, what song is thar? and i'll tell them and they'll go... ohh..... (change the subject)
Felicitations sprite!
yup. but i saw george!!!
yes..i love them from the start
pryos sprite!!!
With a little help from my friends ;) Any clues needed?
i was 15 in 1964 and like most kids that age into music
yay sprite
hehehe i said "thar"!!! i'm like a pirate....
peeks in from lurkdom and tosses spritey a celebratory bottle of something alcoholic
Thanks :)
aye me beauty - all pirates accepted
Going once...
woudl rather have breakfast sprite
and a pulse
pirates are awesome. i think i may be a little drunk. that's okay cause i was unable to drink for a week due to antibiotics. so.... *makes ONE more vodka-tonic-orange*
se6/24 please
can i have some clues on the cs please
oh rennie!! go check in the mirror... is there a reflection sweetie??
*throws in a breakfast for renfield* Going twice...
drunk babbling is so much safer than drunk driving. here, you make a mistake and the little red thingy just says "that
s not a word". oops
LOL!!!
the one i see mrp - i don;t want to know!
oh rennie!!! get the thermometer... now careful where you put that....
hahahaha mrp...it's digital
sarah - there's a garment worn by superman, making him into a particular type of crusader. There's Miss Blanchett, there's to give away and there's the plural of c the letter, spell it out.
I have seen xrays of digital thermometers......
and it goes in the ear
Cs: what zorro wears, soldier in training, what looks like an abbrev for what makes coffee worthwhile, head, pussied, stop, the letters themselves...
Going for real now :)
Thanks for the fun and all the laughing, and have a great day/night/whatever :)
nite sprite!!
night sprite!!
Bye sprite, have a good day.
bye sprite:)
ren, i swear, you're normal..... stop scratching your lip! it was a fluke on my part, not a standard to measure good health by!
'night sprite
ok froe....if you say so
plus i'm a hypochondriac
Thanks for the clues and hysteria!! I've been lurking and keeping an eye on thechat. Havve a good day/night all those departing.
night JFB!
does anyone else find it weird that the beatles can be the biggest band ever, but never tour?? (this coming from the girlfriend of a drummer)
yeah that is really weird
nowadays its a necessity
They did play in other countries - how do you define 'tour'?
hi again!
hi Fran
hi fran
hi fran
touring, on the level of the beatles, would involve being away from home for months at a time, night after night, city after city
They span the age range don't they? My then 18 year old son bought me the CD of all the beatles number 1's and plays it more than I do!
wb Fran
hi andree, sarah, jean and ML!
They did that in the early days - spending months in Hamburg for instance. Once they became famous, they didn't need to go on the road like that, but they did play big concert venues etc.
yeah, but that would never fly these days! i think they were unique in that
Elvis didn't exactly go on the road either!
exactly haz
off for now have a good day everybody:)
bye jean
Have a good day jean.
bye jean!
hi all
hi taz!
Hello tazpink.
Bye jean. I must be away too. bbl
hi taz
bye jean hi tazpink! bye JFB
bye
bye jfb!
bye Jean and JFB, hi Taz
i'm resorting to words like "pheo" and "hipe"
me too
good then, its not just me
me three
secate, deact, hipo...
i think this is a sign from the babble powers that be... 1:43 am is too late. night all and happy babbling
bye froe
night froelica!
night!
'night froe
anyone get the 8 or 7 letter one yet?
haz cute dog
the 8 yes, but not the 7
metal mind clueing me ?
Thanks taz - Spangle is my Welsh Springer spaniel.
I give pitiful clues, but I"ll try
pretty
lol metal
the 8 is: ex + "another word for bug minus the first two letters" and past tense it
I need help on the m and s please
sarah, the m can be thought of as a length of dress popular in the 70's, or as a musical interface for computers
metal ty great clue
mi4/6 - a medium skirt length or mi plus late Princess of Wales' first name, shortened version.
most welcome taz
metaleather one of the best clues - got it straight awat. Evening all
or do you prefer pink?
ty Angb, 'night
pink is always good with me
either way metal or is it leather?
metal'ls fine... I always tell people they can call me whatever they want but if I don't like it, I'm liable to call 'em somethin' nasty right back ;oD
sticking with metal lol
which of the "s"s do you need sarah?
the last one i have the one you sit on if if your put on a chair you are?
When your drugged up, the next you plant. too tell if your male or female, another word for ooze. Thats the one s I have ML
se6/24 - to withdraw from (as in an alliance or union)
if a baby chick is examined to see if it's a cockerel or a pullet, it said to have been s----
a wound which drains slowly is said to s---
se4/5 - a religious division
the part of a plant which germinates is the s---
and I'm still missing one myself... the 6/24
It must be the one I am missing then! I was waiting
haz clued it i think
se6/24 clued below, metaleather.
ty Haz, I'll check now
Hmmm got that one.
tyvm Haz, that did the trick
You're welcome!
seems a Southerner like me should have gotten that one ;o)
I am still missing one
metal where from?
Louisiana, just barely outside the Baton Rouge city limits
sarah - do you have the se4/4 - chair (sometimes I forget to put in the root word)
yes you are a southerner indeed
yeah I have that one haz
Also se4/5 - often applied to small religious groups
yeah
yep yep yep, not born here but have lived here almost ten years and have lived in the South all my life one place or another
midwest here
except when I went nuts and moved to Ca for a year and a half
wow
I'd like to move out of La, but my dbf/spousal equivalent seems to be stuck in swamp mud
is is Louisisana getting back on its feet at all?
not nuts nuts, just sorta nuts, lol
lol
more a lack of judgement than an illness
grins
we all have those
parts of it are Pink, but the further south you go, the worse it is
sarah have you the se 6/21?
there are still whole towns on what used to be the coast that have disappeared completely and may never come back
jjust a sad amazing situtation there
I didn't see that - what you do when some one is really anxious - give them a pill!
it isn't just New Orleans as some news reports make it seem... many cities and entire parishes (the La equivalent of a county) are completely devastated from both Katrina and Rita
destruction on a grand scale
haz cant wait to see more safari pics
indeed
I'll put them up when the icon theme is suitable. I'm currently working on a 'journal' of the experience.
cool
well, if I want to get done before morning/bedtime, I need to keep searching... still 25 to go
need another s here
hi
hi scv
hi
have you the se 6/21 taz?
taz se 6/21 to be prim
yes and 6 24
are there 2 se 6 21
How about the first se 6/21?
or to give someone a sleeping pill
There are two se6/21 - to be upon a chair, and to tranquilise
tyvm got them haz and ang
and adnre
yw
*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
weeee mrp
nite all! time for dinner and a movie!! (waving) bye!!!
bye
yayyy mr p, bye
how many u guys got left?
still 25, I think I'm stuck
stuck at 35 here
wanna clue swap?
sure
we might have some different words
let me go look at lickietys
I'm in need of ex6/36 and ec7/36
k
metal it's smaller than ex 8/75 drop the ending
And the ec is a nasty type of pregnacy
sheesh, I would have sworn I tried that
Sorry pregnancy
blush blush
ec7/36 - relating to unsustainable pregnancy but spelt with a vowel at the end
got them both Ang, tyvm
and Haz
Haz - you saved me typing that bit - ty
You're welcome!
yw metal
wonders what vowels end the pregnansy clue
Try some and see!
Tz just change the last letter to a vowel.
the last is the only one different than expected... think of what indicates suffering from a condition....
tyvm guys never saw it that way
yw taz
one who is manic has a m----, one with that type of pregnancy has e------
yup ty got it
metal what do u need
I'm working on the Ps now, let me see what I can get on my own then check back ok?
ok
cya laters
'night Pink
bye taz

chiley do you have the weakling?
No wierd W words really,
not really weird, but there is one spelling that is different than I expected it to be
the Ws are broad, broads, spouse, spoused, spouses and weakling.
There's an odd one, someone who has got married?

I think ours went back yesterday. I went into W.H.Smith's yesterday, and couldn't move for Mothers buying their offspring's Stationary
my dad named me and spelled it that way, he says that the way you pronounce it thats the way it should be spelled.
testing, testing, just put the Mackinac Bridge in my icon
haven't meet all that many Sheryl's that spell it that way
nice nice!!enjoy...dont forget ur lil friend in abu dhabi
ExWren - you mean today surely as today is Monday!
I've a friend whose Labor Day tradition is walking that bridge. Missing it this year for a funeral.
walking the bridge??
sniffles and u dont forget the lil gayrl over hereee
he it worked, it is the bridge connecting the two penninsualas of Michigan, it is said that Michiganders live below the bridge, ie. we are all trolls!!!

Maybe I should put it in bab anon
Morning, y'all!
Hi, Yo
I agreeeeeee a total of 12 vowels is overkill.
Hey Annie. What's up?
Yo - you
Just barely, MM!
LOL yo
what the heck kind of word is the im 6, lol
still struggling with the ep"s, not there yet
I didn't even know there was an im - thanks sheryl
there is a six and a four
what about the im4 too!
both very strange words.
the six is a type of sugar cane
why isn't eeped a word? My computer eeped when I made an error
lol the 4 is a group of zulu warriors, lmao
the sad thing is I remembered the im4 from a previous grid.
for some reason those weird ones don't stick in my head
Me too FMitch - as soon as someone said there was an im word I saw it right away
lol we are such babblers!!!
Don't feel bad Sheryl - I miss the famous mountain just about every day
lol, usually see that one
It makes me crazy - I need a boatload of fish every time it is in the grid
lol
poor music
thanks sheryl.
the words that have the ae endings always get me
never think to use that combo of letters
Oh yeah = I have that problem too.
And I have this mental image of some little computer creature that knows when I monkey type stupid combos that never make words - and they are criticizing me.
lol
I hate the red bar not found in dictionary. I feel like somene is keeping track of those
I try hard not to leave the grid with one of those on the screen
i have always said that about computers, that the programmers make them that way for a laugh at our expense
absolutely!
Appears Dr_God will need to maintian a fulltime staff of mental health professionals to alleviate the trauma endured by those addicted to Babbble.
morning all -- the bridge in my icon is the Perrine Bridge, which connects our city (Twin Falls, Idaho) to the other side of the 400 foot + canyon.
lmao, you got that right
Very cool CH
Isn't that the truth mementomori!
i take it bridges are the theme today
LOL momento and to think I do this to relax
indeed they are! :)
yes sheryl
brb - potty break and coffee's done
ch1212, that bridge looks terrifying, wouldn't wan to cross that
I have to leave for awhile too --- it's my beloved's bday today, and he wants to go out for brunch :)
i've changed my icon to the bridge of my youth
that bridge led to many many concerts and shopping sprees
Sherylr is that the Golden Gate? I was born in SF.
By the way, I have fireworks, first time for three days, (I didn't play the last two days)
congrats exwren!!
congrats wren
Woohoo ExWren
bravo exwren
Have fun ch
Congrats, exren
Yeah, Ex Wren! I have 136 to go--just started.
nope Ambassador Bridge in Windsor Ontario across to Detriot
pedi
it's beautiful, sheryl
Good afternoon - just dropping by to see how people are doing. Congratulations ex-Wren!
Don't bother trying that one
I'm down to 81. It is beautiful sheryl
LOL scrabbler
I walked that bridge after a Led Zepplin concert in April of 76, lost my coat, purse and my ride back home to Canada and had to walk across it
By the way, has anybody used Mrs Bridges (Upstairs Downstairs) as an icon?
that sounds like fun sheryl. Ahhhh the good old days
they didn't even want to let me back into the country cause i had no idea
The sun is shining and the rain has stopped--Ernesto has left finally.
3 days at the concert, lol
ah youth,
that's great scrabbler.
Haz! Afternoon and no I don't htink anyone has.
We were too young to go to zepplin concerts but love to listen to them
Afternoon all..........
Hi Haz, you certainly wouldn't see me on your bridge
brownies are in the oven...hannah's pictures are great.
No Haz - that would be a great one
Hi ait
cait
still overcast here, I am suposed to be doing some gardening, planting some new seed and moving some periwinkle, but here i am
lol
Nor me, ex-Wren. I crossed it when I was a child but wild horses wouldn't get me over it now!
Folks - please forgive me. Discovered that a lot of my problem is not pathetic typing - I have keyboard issues
thats the worst
grannyg - she was hilarious yesterday.
my number pad gives me trouble all the time too
My shift key popped off.
Does your keyboard conspire against you MM?
music mom you have more than keyboard issues but we won't go into that now.
Hi caitlin, I have been waiting for the Severn Bridge to appear
Greg is going to work on it later but I want to babble right now
LOL granny
music....well clean under it and pop it back on
True about the issues but you can attest that I'm a decent typist
Waving at Haz as I am not my usual pink sunset. <Helloooooo>
I had to put it on ExWren..How are you?
I can't get it to pop back on that is the problem
Helloooooo FMitch!
How many words do you have grannyg
cleaning is usually a good plan, easy to do. I know you are not suposed to eat/drink over your keyboard but i do it all the time
sounds like operator error to me....how do you get those neat pictures by your name? i have 98 words left and i'
me too sheryl
Is that the new bridge, We crossed it last week (twice!)
sorry, hit the wrong key - and i'm goofing off.
How are you supposed to babble without eating or drinking over the keyboard?
you have to go pro granny
then bgl and I can talk you through it
Are we allowed to goof off when we play Babble?
I would never eat or drink if I couldn't do it by my computer Haz
and how do i go pro?
Yes its the second Severn Bridge
Was feeling a bit incognito - my prodge is the Transporter Bridge in Middlesborough and is different to most others as the vehicles are carried across on a large platform suspended from the high gantry
peed
i goof off whenever i can
prodge? *bridge!!!
Oops, I didn't need to share my experience with you
lol, when i first became addicted to the internet my hubby put a sound bite on the computer. When i started up the computer a voice came on and said, we miss you mom, we need you, no cooking, no laundry. lol
It sounds scary, FMitch!
It costs £4.90 to go into Wales, and free to go back into England
that word works scrabbler
LOL sheryl
FMitch i thought i didnt recognise it LOL Scrabbler
I know---LOL
grannyg - click on my account in the upper right. It should tell you how to go pro. I can't find it on mine because I'm already pro
It must say something about what the Welsh think of the English....
EX lol, free to come back so you dont stay there !!
It's been there since 1911 Haz and its very stable, used to love to ride it as a child
you have to be kidding me there is a ph word that hip hopper use, lol
no comment on the "already pro" comment
Okay I have typed aphid into the word box four times. it does not exist today
Yep sheryl
I'll do it when I have time. not this morning.
LOL grannyg
te5 after golf term please
what time do you have to be at Mark's?
It looks more modern than 1911 - the sky behind is lovely. Trust you to get an icon with your 'signature'
1:00 eating time. means we get there at 12:55 or Pokeys not ready.
mercy do you have the te a type of tent?.3
LOL
yes
do you have to go get grandma?
sherylr its a hot drink n another word for wee
te5/12 - te plus vowel, then identification
nope - don't do that anymore. they have to drive themselves. nasty of me i know but geesh
then i don't have that te yet myself
LOL - I forgot to change my away message. Greg just logged into IM and it says I'm at soccer

Just dropping by to let you have a look at MY bridge, the Mackinac in Michigan
inge, have you driven it? is it creepy driving the lanes with grates on them?
hi all

Drum, where did you say your bridge is?
chesapeake bay in Virginia
I have driven it sevral times in calm weather, on windy days the bridge closes down, you can also ask for someone else to drive your car across for you
ec 7/36
I never understood how the Macinac could stand in frozen water without being ripped to pieces
ec7/36 - the noun version of the adj used to describe a pregnancy outside the uterus
cannot find a picture of the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, the longest suspension bridge connecting two countries

Krys, like northern Michigan has attempted to do
lbav. se6/24 is the verb for an act of secession
inge, there's a great show about the macinac bridge, how it was built. i think it's history channel or national geographic
vermont has a movement to se6 from the union. Very tempting. Not that we don't like all of you(-:
if vermont does it, I've already told my husband we're moving there
thanks Krys, must be becasue of the bridge walk today

hiya shutterbug
Chipmunk, the tile stats show how many words are in the grid and their points. You can also goto Babblers Anonymous to read more about the rules of the game
Chip. the tile stats are there to tell you how many words start with each letter.
How do you read the tile stats?
UGH 3 day old halibut for me. Thanks Jen
What is the first number and what is the second?
Hi all,Im back from a beautiful day of Labor Day fun! The down side, good friend passed away today also she was only 52 years old!
ditto samiam's questions
that
pe 5/14? I have a feeling a fish is on my way . . .
Chip, if the tile says 3/4 it means that you have 3 words that start with that letter, and there are 4 to get. so that means you have 1 left to get that starts with that letter.
i cannot figure out the other O at the top..i have the 5 letter one..(made a choice)..but have NO IDEA what the other is..monkeyed brains out.
the first number is the number of letters in the word; the second one is the number of points the word is worth
Hello shutterbug! How are you? Welcome to the grid!

And back I am ... hi all! Musicmom, you are still here from this morning? :)
gendered?
Does anyone have a clue for the se 6/24 word please
ty minveryork ;)
LOL
Oh no ch - I went away for quite a while. Play playstation football, did some housework and laundry
that probably would have been better hurshy<G>
what the south did from the union
Do you want storytime? I will be happy to tell another chapter...
Hello ch1212!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
or tried to do, at least
hi ch!
ah, like me! Hi minveryork! Got a late start today.
I just finished the grid. greg took our younger daughter to ride her bike on the bike path for the first time. I'm not starting dinner until they get home.
I always want storytime, even if I am not home, I enjoy the chapter next morning. How do the other listeners feel about it?
hi stidmama. We found out for sure that we're not moving to Seattle, but instead to Massachusetts. I've never been to the eastern U.S. so this will be quite a change. We leave Saturday, so I'm scrambling like mad trying to pack and handle logitics.
how did I miss that, musicmom? YAY!!!
Does anyone have a clue for the se 6/21 word please
logistics :)
wow ch
Actually, I need the second se 6/21 word if you have.
thanks stid
oh ch! *disappointment that we will not meet* {{{good moving vibes}}}
calm, minver
6.21 a hyper child is not se6/21
i've never been west of texas so i couldn't even say the east is better
hey stid!
..though i was about to.
LOL MM -- silent, helpful, in control, redirectable?
thanks, stid -- we were sorry it wasn't Seattle, for babble reasons {{{ }}} and also because we like the area. Maybe someday!
LOL stid
hi feather! I am almost to halfway... how 'bout you?
{{{{Stid}}}} just couldn't stay away huh?
are you being transferred ch?
34 left
I need se 6/24 to finish se words. Do not think I saw the clue before. Does anyone have a clue for se 6/24
i clued it minver - what the south tried to do from the union
I hope so ch, in the meantime, there are so many NICE things about the east coast -- I love all the history, and there are some really great museums and arts centers too!
no, my beloved landed a new job at a library back east, while he's working on his Masters degree.
sorry ...ellen degeneres is on ...... going to watch.... be back later
bye arlene
oh well, feather, we can race next week, when the kids are in school and I am back on babble schedule!
bye arlene
Great ch - my husband works in a library too
ac 6/24 any clues please
Goodbye arleneehm!I will see you later in the chat log
He got that job when he was a graduate student and we have never left
i'll be in school too next week, so will have to be selective in my grids!
Gosh I love our babble world, musicmom! He has 3 advanced degrees now, but library work is his special passion (besides me of course!) :D
stid - will it feel good to have the boys back in school?
that is very interesting ch. Greg is talking about doing his MLS. he already has a Masters in Saxophone Performance
bummer feather
I start school tomorrow! So sad since I will have less time to babble! The best part of my summer has been Babble.Won't finish as many grids once school starts!
yes, and no. This is the elder one's last year before high school and I am really dreading that transition (he doesn't transition well -- nor do I!). But I can get back to my schedule of housework and projects, and perhaps manage to get a bit more order in the house.
bummer minver
wow, didn't you they gave degrees in instrument performance. He must be a wonderful musician!
pe 6/27 and pe 6/24 anyone?
bummer feather....
bummer bummer Min...
ac6/21 like a nat'l park but change a vowel
inge-- I will be here at regular storytime. :-)
pe6's just stick endings on not-war
I can understand that stid. I like the routine of school better. I can get more things done too. i'm bad about playing when they are home
ahhhhhhh
Yes ch - he is pretty good. Of course, I'm biased
pe...think of "let there be pe** on earth...work with that :)
ty :)
ok, then we can decide. Got to watch the news, Detroit schools are opeing without teachers, who are striking
I would hope so, mm :)
ac 6/24 is ac plus news m**** Bittong.
I am bad about everything when they are home, now that we no longer homeschool. I don't want to be on a strict schedule during their weeks off, so we tend to "float" a bit more than I normally enjoy.
he's really really good ch
???? school without teachers? every kid's dream! :-)
oh no inge. it's tough when the teacher's union decides to strike, tough for everyone concerned.
Oh no inge - t*** is terrible
Thanks grannyg - but you are biased too<G>
:D
He has been getting more paying gigs. That's speaks to some of his talent
Hey i'm biased with an open mind. Figure that one out.
Hello tndaisy1960!How are you? Welcome to the grid!
Not easy for a saxophonist in a town without a professional orchestra or band
I worked in a school once believe me school without kids is every teachers dream!!!!
And every parent's nightmare -- in my experience teachers only strike when they really need to, so things must be awfully bad in Detroit...
lmao deeha!
ty for the ac clues
Paying gigs are a good thing! My brother plays some session work in Nashville, and his band plays paying gigs on weekends. During the week he is a computer programmer / engineer !
hi daisy, didn't see you come in!
I agree stid. We only had to discuss it once when I was teaching public school and even mentioning it was very stressful. Thankfully we didn't ahve to do ti
np Stid :) you're talking to several at once
That is so funny ch - my husband also works on computers.
My daughter is a teacher. The first day she went into school a kid said 'are you married, miss?' she said 'no'. He said'Daniels dads looking'.
if the teachers get the raises they are demanding the Detroit school system may fold, they are choosing between no job at all or reduced income
oh my gosh, this IS getting funnier!
LOL deeha
grannyg can honestly attest to his computer prowess.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, that's why i thought deeha was a word! hi deeha :)
Detroit is loosing 1000 students per year to the suburbs or private schools
I helped my mother in her classroom this morning, getting the last few things she needed done before tomorrow. I don't know how younger/less experienced teachers manage -- she has a good set of things already in her classroom and has been working gradually all summer to get things in order... and still we spent three hours today doing the last collating, sorting and copying!
phone brb
Hi Hurshy!!
I wouldn't be on a computer right now without him.
My beloved is also a computer whiz -- he was the network administrator when he was in the monastery, and fills in for the pros at his current job when they aren't available.
i'm still not ready, and the kids come wednesday. of course, we've had contract work all summer, and i wasn't allowed to load the shelves that line half of the room until noon saturday. talk about stress...
Deeha, just managed to read your funny post... :-)
I get so mad at people who claimn teachers only work 9-3
I agree, deeha -- my son-in-law teaches 8th grade science, and puts in 60+ hour weeks.
Oh feather! the first grade teacher I help at the boys' school wanted me to pull and collate pages from some workbooks last week... but as of Friday they hadn't arrived yet. Yep. That's really stressful.
need the two ce 4/6 s ..they must be obvious but I cant see them :(
we have meetings tomorrow morning, then hopefully our principal will let us just work in the rooms in the afternoon. and the building is open until 8:30 tomorrow night, so i'll be staying late.
ce4/6 give control of land to another country, eg. then change end vowel.
My daughter is now a deputy head she has to teach run courses invent new policies and be a social worker
ce 4 means to give up or relinquuish, the other has diff. end vowel
feather, you don't have access to the school unless it's "open"? Why not? around here, teachers have the keys they need to access their rooms so they can do what they need.
help please - last one----de5/22
to change the subject temporarily- shame about Steve Irwin dying today wasnt it?
problem with Detroit schols is that they have too many buildings and administrators, since the student popn keeps shrinking. Watch the news tomorrow!
we're supposed to have key cards eventually, but it's been talked about for 3 years and hasn't happened yet.
dilly, de5/22 -- like your se5/22 with a d
deeha, my husband and i were just talking about it this very moment
excuse me, dilly, I mean the se5/22 with the first and last letters switched
inge, something similar is happening in Seattle, where they are trying to figure out which neighborhood schools need closing... there are some parents who are really hysterical; but extra teachers have been decreased so that at least isn't an issue at the moment.
our Australian babblers were really addened this a.m.
what happened, inge?
i can't believe he has died deeha, i will sure miss his documentarys
it sure is a shame for his wife and kids... but if it had happened 20 or 25 years from now... i mean, i really can't think of a more fitting way for him to go - i'm sure it's the kind of death he would have wanted.
He was so annoying but compulsive watchin
like how klingons want to die in battle.
good point, hurshy
yes hurshy, it was very "him"
I agree Hurshy but as you say he had a lot more to offer
you can't imagine him dying of... lupus or something
Livonia school district (between us and DEtroit) has closed some schools and created midle schools for 5 and 6 grade, where they start languages, etc. Still the parents had fits
oh, I just logged onto the news... my word, that is horribly sad.
In my school, the school has to get a permit it for it to be open during non-school hours & teachers can't be there unless there's an administrator. By the way how many teachers do we have here in Babbleand?
hello folks
*raises hand* kindergarten, 8 years...wait, this is the 9th
hi LeslieAnn! how's life today?
hi leslieann -- how's the wedding planner?
In my district,they're turning alot of the k-5 schools into k-8th schools;actually pre-k - 8th grade schools.
I'm not a teacher but I come from a family of them. Brother, sister, daughters, sons-in-law, nieces and nephews. I sympathize with you all.
you gotta watch out for them wedding planners, they're liable to steal your fiance
Hi LeslieAnn! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
LOL! In this case, Leslieann is both the bride and the planner!
i am a retired teacher.
steal away then, LA
true that, ch!
Retirement is ages away for me, but it sounds great!
teacher here too... first day back with new class today
anyone have any brilliant insights on how you open the wrapping on the laughing cow soft cheese wedges?
I am not a teacher, but have helped my mother in her classroom since I was a teen (that's when she returned to teaching) and have tutored many people in Language Arts and Math/Science over the years. I don't have the stamina to teach -- or the intestinal fortitude to deal with all the hoops they make teachers jump through!
Does anyone have a clue for the ta 6/21 word please
CH1 - I have that --it's the other one
hurshy, there used to be a little "tail" of red (I think) plastic that helped unzip them...
i pulled that stid but it didn't help much
I start school tomorrow. The kids start on Thursday.
i'll try again on the next wedge.
throw it against the wall?
Hello Fellow Babblers :)
no, wait, that's pasta
ta6/21 add your dog or cat, plus a vowel
ok, 28 left, i should go reheat dinner....stid, maybe i can race you after dinner, if you're still here.
our school district has one school, K-8 (since before I was in kindergarten) and ships the high schoolers and high-needs students to Olympia.
I just found what you want, dilly -- it's to undo the s**, believe it or not

Yes, Steve Irwin's de5/14 was a shock, since it wasn't a croc or a snake that got him, but a bloody fish! (I quote that last bit directly from an Aussie friend from another forum.) I said earlier that, all I can say is that at least he died as he lived and not in some mundane way like tripping over or something...
good lookin' bridge, hk!!!!!!
Congratulations helenkeller on fireworks! Good for U!

Peri - any clues you want, just ask...
yes tinks, but I need to check the list first

or sounds like short for baby doc
tinks - thanks for that! I'm now going to have that bloody song pounding through my head all night. 'All we are saying, is give pe*** a chance!' Despite being a relative of George... mind you, he had nothing to do with the writing of that song.

nite bb
good night, bb - where are you?
okay, back in an hour for storytime. *poof*
If I'd have had a camera handy on Sunday morning I could have captured my 'naughty boy/hunting cat' trying to drown my 'had too much of life's troubles so now I'm a house cat' cat... Obviously in a mischievious mood, he'd already tried to trip me up as I walked down the garden pa4/6 from the rabbit shed, and then he'd skipped to the top of the steps down to hook my ankle in the hope of making me fall (little sod!)... just after that, I saw him creep up on homely cat (Kira) and shove her head underwater whilst she was drinking from a tall blue pot I have on the patio... she leapt forward (and she's not one for leaping these days, believe me!) and landed in my arms dripping underneath! As I dried her off with kitchen roll, he just sat there and grinned. I think we both wanted to thump him really!
sorry, stid, won't be here - will do catchup
hi everyone.
ae 5 help anyone?
oh, jacula, Cats.

yes, I know, jacula, having had both
thanks, jilli
yw
gail - Never hope that someone will finish for you. I once left here with one word to savour and my other half put it in for me. It was like someone tearing the last page out of a good book I'd been reading! He's not made that mistake again!
LOL. i have only two cats here, and believe me, they WON'T bother. heh.
how do u win at this game or does it go on forever?
tonight there are 138 words total, koolaid
geez i got only 43 thanks ping they must be hidden too.:)
What he 'should' have done was found the last word and then teased me with clues for it. He knows that now!
you have until midnight central time to finish it
clue for the 8 please???
koolaid, if you want the clues that eveyone refers to, scroll to the bottom of this page, and click on lickety's babble clues
well i am early riser and i soon will have to go to bed since i wake up at the crack of dawn ping :0
aknitter - the 8 is the past tense of the ex6/36.
jac - I had that happen here - it's a bit complicated to tell, but inadvertently because hetty and I both work at the library and cheat a bit she got my login by mistake and was surprised to find so many words and finished, then realised she was doing my thing, not hers! I was able to enjoy, though, by using Lickety's list which she had NOT usurped! We're still laughing about it.
searches frantically for ex 6!
well i am off I sat to long now its time to say nite to all of u , good nite u all.

{{{{Scoutsmom}}}}
hello scouts mom. i was shocked and saddened to hear the news
his stidname is stidgrant... he doesn't usually play though!
Jacula, Anniebrook, and Temple Owl were were upset about the news about mtgjack. Cound you leave an address in babanon where they can write to his partner?
this is mama (finally)
thx stid
oh, yes - i did meet him before though
hi stid
How are people doing, Scoutsmom? I am so sad...
As were we all, Temple. But he's at rest.
Hi sssstid
hi inge. I hate ladders!
that was not intentional
had not seen either of you for ages...
But I was able to help Tom figure out what he needed to do to finish the roof, so I might have a complete (and raintight) roof by bedtime.
oh, I just figured you were speaking parseltongue, inge! LOL
Inge, I just posted my address; not sure where his partner will light when things slow down. Correspondence can be sent to me and I will forward or give to him when I see him this weekend.
thanks scoutsmom.
Thanks, Scoutsmom
I'm off to bed now unlesss I see more info re mtn Jack in next 5 minms...
god night jacula.
*good also!
good nite jac
good night, jacs. se you tomorrow.
'Bye, Stid.xxx
night, night Jacula!
Jacula, my email is in my profile if you want to contact me directly...
stid, if you dont feel like telling story, that's ok with me also
I have no id4 what the theme for later is, haven't looked yetl
Thank you Scoutsmom.
*smile* inge, I was thinking since scoutsmom is here, I'd rather talk with her and be present tonight. But I had an idea I wanted to pursue for the story, so will write the chapter directly to BabAnon later...
theme tomorrow is old fashiioned candy
that's ok with me
scoutsmom, is there going to be a memorial of some kind for mtnjock?
Hi Stid! How goes?
hi riemann, it goes. My Tom is finishing the roof tonight. You?
I may not be on long; phone keeps ringing and ringing.
Goes well. Mom may want me out for a long holiday in Dec. If so, I'll need to take off and go places ....
got to empty dishwasher, put laundry into dryer and go to bed. Gute Nacht
Things are always so chaotic when someone dies. Seems that after my grandmother died a few years ago there were all kinds of phone calls and letters and things...
gute nacht, inge! bis morgen!
i'm so sorry about the passing of your friend mtnjack. i didn't know him, but i send my condolences to all who did
night, inge.
How long a holiday, riemann? Would we get to see you or would said holiday preclude "the little people"?
Glad y'all understand...it's difficult, too, that he had just moved away. Trying to coordinate things in his hometown as well as here. Two different places, different lives, different 'families.'
I'm off to bed now, and not before time!
'night, jacula, inge.
night jacs. x
I didn't know he had moved -- did he know he didn't have long?
alas, tis time for me to log off too. work tomorrow and a long one at that. night everyone
RIP mtn.RIP.xxx
good night lbd. see you tomorrow, I hope!
scout's mom: she is so grown up now!
Mom's talking like 3 weeks to a month. Definitely time to get in the boat and travel to Lilliput. I'd also want to see Mountains close up again.
night lbd
Stid...no, he just got a new job and moved closer to his mom; wanted a fresh start. He was sick when he left but didn't know how very serious it was.
Oh gee, scoutsmom, that really stinks. I bet his mom is devastated... He was really young.
Temple: Scout just turned three. Potty trained, singing whole songs, riding a tricycle...just an amazing kid. I think she got even smarter in the few days I was gone.
*showers of happiness for Scout's growing upness*
Stid: he was 37. Too young for anyone. Guess there's never enough time...
riemann -- you will give people the impression that I am really short! (when in fact I am almost normal size... you are just way tall!)
scoutsmom... did he have cancer or something?
that is a big difference - two and three! i'ts a fun time if a bit trying...hi blaze
her favorite movie/CD is The Sound of Music. Sings 'A Demale Deer" and the song with the puppets. A joy to hear her yodel in the car.
No, that's probably true, scoutsmom -- we have so many things we want to do, and no matter how old we get I think there are still things we could have done if only we had more time. My grandmother was 92 and never managed to learn Spanish (though it was her goal for years)
Hi temple ow.... I just came back on the grid to finish off 24 words and trying to phathom the news about Mtn Jck
Blaze: he had problems with his liver/kidneys. Went undiagnosed for too long.
blessings and wellness to his family and friends...
sorry - brb
Hey, Stid. *You* were the one who mentioned "little people". And we've had a LONG agreement that neither of us starts the needles unless we want to see the other do the knitting.
poor mtnjock -- those are really uncomfortable when they go bad.
rie... that is a good saying... never heard that one before
But I was speaking in terms of the paesani, not lilliputians... and you knew it! *sigh*
thanks, blaze. New saying to me, too.
*picks up knitting needles*
The hospice was essential in helping manage his pain meds, and his partner was amazing. We should all have a love like that in our lives.
Hospice is a blessing. To be able to go with some measure of comfort, surrounded by people you love instead of in a hospital room... I have been so grateful to the people who do that kind of work.
I work in the corp. office of a hospice, and I think those nurses are incredible people.
Okay...I hate to run, but have to return some more calls while the Babe's in bed. My email's in my profile, and address info on babbler's anonymous if anyone wants to contact me... thanks again for your positive thoughts today (and icon tribute, Stid). Y'all have a good evening.
{{{scoutsmom}}} be well. pass our love on to his family, please.

hiya TO
hiya metal
what does "fe 5/18?" mean?
welcome, Robin........Angelsong's link at the bottom of the page can help you
a word beginning w/ fe, 5 lettere, worth 5 points (tile values)
fe....1st 2 letters of word...........5 is how many letters........18 is how many points
with 5 letters, you add the points on the tiles and mutiply them by 5-3 (2).
ah hah! looking at Angelsong link helps tons.. thx!
hi brandyjack!

ooopsy daisy....
i don't even look at the stats anymore.
I mean, don't play at all...
yeah, I don't care about the stats...
thanks TO.........i got fireworks!!!!!!

ok, I guess I don't understand ae5/12... I got the word (thanks Mayne Girl), but why is that 12? looks like 6 by my counting
5 letter words x 2
a six letter word is worth twice its face value; a 5- letter word is twice...
gotcha... thx again Mayne girl
six= 3 times, sorry

see you all at the flip
Basically, subtract 3 from the length of the word to get the multiplier. And Qu words are one longer than the number of tiles.

ta 6/21?
ta6/21 ta + abbrev. for Physical Education + a repetition of the first two letters
ta 6/21-- sounds like a lush, stiff material w/ a pee
ok, dumb ? -- you can repeat letters within a word? boggle doesn't let you do that
no, you can't repate them, but in this case there are two sets...
ok, just makin' sure
not the same tile, only if letter is on another tle too
sorry I didn't explain it better
the two sets are in the upper left corner, but they are hard to see nonetheless....
meta -- I got the word from your clue, I just couldnt' figger out how to form it on the puzzle... I finally saw it... eyes must be tired
unlike boggle, there is something about babble where the letters are invisible. I always type a word even if I think it is a phantom. Because it may be sitting on the other side of the puzzle twisted like a dogs breakfast...
lol
I don't understand BrandyJack... invisible letters?
that is so true, bj!
the mystery of the brain...
any clue for the 2nd se 6/21?

Now what really twists my tail into a knot is when I can't monkey a 4 letter word -- like the last pe4/5!
hi everybody! this is my firdt time!
Hi Harp!!
the 5/12 is similar to the word that is a home or building lived in by NA people, but change the first vowel in that word to the vowel shaped like an open mouth
mine too Came... welcome to the addiction...
tyvm GW, it's appreciated
