fliparooooooni!
flip
flippy
you are good nrkii!
flip!
nrkii is psychic!
it's flippin' monday!
hi all! just in time for the flip!
what is the theme for today please?
what's the pic theme today?
there must be one word in here that I'll think is a stupidhead word, that accounts for the discrepency
detectives
Good Evening, all -- a better size this time.
nkii is modest too ;)
Theme is famous detectives.
theme - famous detectives
lol - i'm sure there is nrkii
I guess I don't know my detectives all that well, can only really think of two and no doubt they're already taken.
Oh, has the new grid arrived? Didn't notice it, since my O/H stomped off.
so I'll just find words instead :P
thanks nan, will say goodnight now, working tomorrow so may not do this one
Clues are up! Enjoy!
nite flosey - will you be at bridge?
wow Lickety, you're amazing!@
AMAZING LICKETY!!! Thank you!!
the supersonic Lickety!!! Thanks!!!
wow, fast lickety!
wow lickety -- you're the greatest!!
thanks! Got to it just at the right time!
tx lkTy
jilli, where's the bridge!? my dear late mommy taught me to play.
melon - we play duplicate bridge every Monday night here on Salt Spring Island - flosey and dilly and I are part of the bunch
je7
se7
there's no r
does that count as a jinx nrkii? :p lol
:)
to7
OK,{brag alert} - i got the eu 8 & 9 on the 1st try!
awesome melon!
oh how fun jilli - i should get back into it. i used to play every sunday night when i was single.
I'm getting a big inferiority complex - nothing over a6
dang it melon! i was trying for a few min and gave up. :)
I only found the je7 after it was mentioned, myself
same here ornith, with the je
melon, it's a great game of infinite variety - get a partner and pop on over - lol
want a clue?
i do melon! :p
sure!
please melon! and could use to7 and se7 clues too
well it's the opposite of a sour stomach
OK, Ok i'll get to the 7s
and are we talking about the eu's?
to7 - rugs
se7 is long couches, to7 is wigs
yes, jilli
thanks doglover (and thesaurus.com :P)
lol, yw ornith
hi all
hiya my
hi muse
not getting that stomach clue though melon
hi orn and dog!
hello mymuse!!
hello all, just checking if todays icon will work as it is a bit big.
gotta fold some laundry. be back in a few
me neither :(
I'm not either, sorry
bye wassup
spangles - it worked - who is it?
phantom - sentence
there is a soda name in the middle of the EU words
ahah! thanks nrkii, that's a big help.
yes ty nrkii
186 wors is not big, re a Babble grid.
good clue, too
It is Jack Slipper. He was the one who followed Ronnie Biggs, the great train robber from 1963, all over the world.
is it too late to flip?
great, nrkii! thanks!
hi everyone!
It's a nice, easy grid.
compared to the last few it is Jacula!
never too late, helen!
hi helen
thnaks nrkii! that helped! ehllo helen!!
Hi Hell!
hi helen!
compared to the last couple days, jac, this one is huge! lol
hey helen
Hello all!
:) i think i will start by getting my icon first, brb
hey chic
Hey Dog!
hi ya chic!
hi chic!
hi jilli!
Hey Mymuse and Jilli!
hello chic!
hi debb!
hello all new arrivals!
Hey Debb!
ok - i'm back - i'm gonna rock this grid now !!! watch out grid !
Hey Helen , you rascal!
hiya chic!
I heard you went to the Star Trek convention!
I've reduced the size of my icon, so that it can be seen more clearly.
i was just in a huge debate with these idiots in the feed chat, some people, grrrr! i think erika's headed for an emotional break - it's very sad & i think bb is acting very irresponsibly by keeping her in the house - they need to take her to a safe, locked facility & de-brief her
why? what's going on?
spanges - still want to know who it is!
yes chic- my very first st convention - i had a great time, met wonderful people!!! but very sadly, not one klingon - not a one!!! can you believe it?!?!?!
got the other 9 - anyone want a clue?
It is Jack Slipper. He was the one who followed Ronnie Biggs, the great train robber from 1963, all over the world.
I guess Klingons are Out (auf)!
please..
me me melon :p
spangles - sorry - I missed your telling us who he was - and Briggs lived in Canada for a ehile I think
fattened
nets
chic-very sad, i think she's lost alot of contact with reality - she keeps throwing herself at boog, talking about how they are like an old married couple - he's not talking to her & avoiding her as much as possible - a rational person would've gotten thee hint already
melon - you're amazing - and of course we want a clue!
hi, erda
hi melon
whats it start with melon?
jilli - just gave it
st9/66
jillibus it is Jack Slipper the famous London detective who chased "the great train robber 1963 " Ronnie Biggs all over the world.
well they are not going to show that stuff on Tues....
thanks melon!
ty so much melon!
thanks melon, three words there!
chat going fast and I'm missing stuff - sorry
phantom word - stipend
chic - more - she hasn't bathed for days, she either eats nothing, or binges (4 hot dogs), she has not done any pilates in over a week - i think she's clinically depressed, focusing only on this imaginary relationship with boog - when she finds out how people feel about her, it's gonna be bad
my phantom is utopia
but she's probably going to win because they can't possibly give to the snake, Boogie..
chic- one more thing - she was alrady emotionally fragile when she came into the house, broke up with boyfriend of 5 years & her dog died - + they are both re-writing history about what great players they are, how the rest are idiots, etc - so sad
that too ornith...
*Biggs - if he's the one he lived near Montreal where I used to live and joined the golf club - nobody knew
lets pretend it has two t's :p
that's why it should have been Janie at the end; she's much more stable person...
how about a great miniature golf course, we could call it pu**opia
lol nrkii
haha nrkii :p
and thanks for two words :P
3 words ornith
chic -i don't know - they had the q & a yesterday (which they didn't show) but they talked alot about it, seems they both think it will be as close as it could be - boog was asking erika all these questions about the season, what happened, when & in the course of ranting about how she took out the brain of chilltown, boog had another meltdown - she insulted his ego
so it is. a little spacey tonight I guess
funny, nrkii
Do you know, I think I preferred the pic of my cat to the one of Columbo? She's the bettter dectective by far!
teth
whoops
-used his anger at her as an excuse to not sleep with her - they didn't even stay in the same room - he wants nothing to do with her, she repulses him & she just doesn't get it, sad
why can't steep exist in the puzzle grrr
have the st 9 -- what is the other one?
Ornith - never mind, and forget my spelling also.
whacha mean, forget your spelling, Jacula?
There is no st9??
st 9/66
was there a hint for the st9 ? that i missed
the nines are st and eu.
chic - i agree, so much better had jani been there, plus she actually deserves it
ooh, just hit halfway point
and yeah, scroll back a bit for st9 clue from melon
oh well, couldn't find the eu 7 & 8, either!
fattened
wtg nrkii
cybernan, perhaps because they're 8 and 9
well there was a very good reason why erika and boog didn't win on their respective shows; they are hated and lousy players...
OOps! Not even seen or clued into next grid yet! Soorry folks!
to steal nrkii's good clue, nan, the eu6 and 7 have a soda name in the middle
I saw that clue dog -- can't see a soda name either -- mind you, the only one I drink is coke!
I won't be scrolling back forclues though, once I get to it... you surely must know me by now, folks/
'salright, no copyright on that clue
cybernan, the alternative to coke
lol nrkii
cybernan: no coke, *****!
Cleaaring out of log now!
later jac!
bye jac :)

Good moring FMItch - I'm fine. Just doing a little breakfast babbling before getting the car loaded up.
What time are you setting off?
We'll aim to leave around 11.30 - the ferry is at 12.55 and you're supposed to be there for a while beforehand.
Good morning all. I've found a definition for the ne5/12 word . "This Indian word," is still used, colloquially, in some towns in the interior of Massachusetts, to signify a friend, or a crony."
Have a safe and uneventful journey, Im not babbling at the mo as must make some inroads into a new project but did want to say hello.
Thanks FMitch - I'm hoping it will be uneventful as well!
See you when you get back :)

Yes, once you get a word often there are lots of others built on them. But I am slowing down a little now LOL
I'm always slow! never heard of half these words!
What part of England dodge
ditto! Jst monkeying gets a fair few!
Me either. But you get to know some of them which is a wee bit of a worry
Yeh its amazing you can just mispell a word and its a real world!
I'm in sunny Portsmouth jfb
meand word!
Its a bit overcast here in Cornwall but very warm
Im near cambridge and the sky is sooo clear! Very warm today!
I love Cornwall JFB. I was born in Somerset ...
we're all doing ok this year lovely summer! let it last til november at least!
where abouts in cornwall are you, jfb?
Its great this time of year - weathers usually good and its a bit less crowded. I'm on the north coast.

Got them from earlier clues mysef!
Hi all! is there a word in there having to do with giving your slightly-retarded son a high-ranking job? I'd like to stop looking for it if it's not there
Haven't come across it but then nowhere near finished. sorry
I haven't got it if there is amanda
where on earth did you get that clue from, amanda!
Hi Ata! I think it's my phantom word of the day, but I didn't want to give it away in case there is some form of it in the grid that I haven't been able to work out yet - it would be an ne, if it's there somewhere
hi all
hi hodag

Hi Sprite!
hi sprite
hello Sprite
How's the grid today?
hi everybody!
Good - 25% challenging
hi Fran
Hi Fran - welcome back
what's the other 75% lynxxx?
hi andree and lynxxx!
That's a nice percentage. Will I ever learn not to try 'ents'?
easy !
oh, that's good, i thought you were going to say "very challenging"
sprite, i'm sure i try ents every grid myself.
It is so stupid, I KNOW enable won't take it, and I never ever stop trying :)
Hi Franmag----------Hi Lynxxx
hi hodag!
hi all - sprite, fran me too!! i thought i was the only one ;D
hello hodag and jaiel
Hehehe, at least I won't have to feel alone in this ;)
lol
hi jaiel
hello Fran )
I always try, in the vain hope that enable has, by some miracle, been updated!
hey lynxxx
never give up hope amanda :)
hi jaiel
hi amanda!
hi hodag
...same with fest, when it's there
Since enable recognises 'orcs' but no 'ents', we know which side it is on!
gotta go ow
gotta go ow
ha ha ha
Hi Fran! Love the icon - I'll be humming the theme-song all day, but that's ok - it's a good one
bye hodag
bye hodag
bye hodag!
thanks amanda!
gotta go nownhi Amanda
clue for to6/24 please
I must be sleeping on the job!!!!!!!! See ya all
I have this wonderful picture in my head of a meeting of the Union of Fantasty Creatures, with the ents protesting that they are not properly represented in the Enable word list, and the orcs sticking out their tongues and jeering
LOL!
to6.24 - what men get when they are sick of comb-overs
would that be the bad man-hair, Andree?
the orcs and the rocs!
thanks lynxxx and amanda!
I have the hair as 6/21
Wouldn't that be fun :)
there seems to be 2 versions andree - so keep going on them
try an alt. spelling Andree
ok
the 6/24s sometimes look like the 6/21s, but they're (according to the dic) two different things
wow, i've never seen that spelling before, thanks.
still looking
I think that the to5.12 must be like a pith helmet - some-one said it was headwear worn in tropics
anyone got st9/66????
mind you I'm still looking for a spanish horse that was clued an hour ago so don't hold your breath
someone gave a great clue for the st9 - made more guiness, or something along those lines
srmw - find the st5.12 and then exend, and extend. fatten.
srmw get st5/12 then the 7 and lengthen for 9
spanish horse andree?
Effortless, with such great clues :) Thanks!~
it was je6/33 clue lynxxx
thanks, great clues!
ahhh - the female donkey or ass. we call them a je*** - ends in ne4.4
that last one is for the je7.48 - the plural.
thanks lynxxx!
thx lynxxx, finally got it
gotta go do stuff - bbl
bye amanda!
bye amanda
Bye amanda :)

i don't have the other 9 or the 8, sorry
eu+ soft drink + vowel

plural for the 9
eu 8.55 & 9.72 - includes a v. well known soft drink in the middle
and lynxxx!

thanks andree!
yw
Is this very well known soft drink available in the US?
great clue lynxxx , got 'em
yes yobaby

YoBaby, it's not the "real thing" it's the other one
pa7.40 - compound word. These pa*** ** artists used to be employed in newspapers before computers came along

thx Fran
thanks Fran, and good morning all
hi inge!
hi inge
hello Inge
Great clues :)
i'm getting nowhere with ps 5.12 (nether of them) can anyone give me a clue pls
lynxxx, one is like the beginning of ps***o-science
They are both plurals, lynxxx. One is a greek plural, takes only vowels after the ps. The other is a more common plural.
thanks Fran & Sprite
just realized mine was the ps5/16!
Thanks for the mistake, Fran, I didn't have that one yet :)
thanks sprite
and Fran\
just found the two ps5/12s, what strange words!
are there more than three ps words? please say no.
No!
morning all!
BBL - daughter wants to use computer (cheek!)
I only have 3 so far. The 5/12s are the two muscles, one on each side of the loin, extending internally from the sides of the spinal column to the upper end of the femur, which assist in flexing and rotating the thigh and flexing the trunk on the pelvis
Hi Wolvie
bye lynx
bye lynxxx!
hi wolvie!
hi fran - off to fix my icon. :-)
thanks sprite! learn something new every day here. must be why i love babble so much.
Same here! :)
here we go
Good afternoon Babblers
wolvie is it a hat?
hi becca?
hi Becca!
i mean hi becca!
miss marple, fran - only thing I could quickly find on her
Hi Becca
so her hat, yes. :-)
i almost used miss marple wolvie!
What is today's icon theme?
hee - all the actresses that I have seen don't match Christies descripton - at least to me, so I went with the hat. :-)
decided to stay with hawaii theme instead, but i love Agatha Christie.
famous detectives
I used to watch Hawaii 5-0, loved it - ah school days. :-)
thanks une
i know what you mean wolvie! same with hercule.
true - the HP's just don't quite do it for me. :-)
but i'm sticking with my panting dog!
jack lord just died last year or the year before.
going to stretch my legs , back soon
love it, une.
later andree!
bye andree
oh Fran, hadn't heard that - too bad
Does anyone have a clue for the st5/10? I am being so blind :(
The 1st one, I mean.
nm, just asking does the trick :) Fireworks!
s + canvas dwelling
hello - I'm back, just in time for Sprite's fireworks
yay sprite!!!!
Congrats Sprite!!!!
Yay Sprite !
congrats, sprite!
Hi amanda, wb ;) I am off, good luck to you all and thanks for the help!
Hi Amanda
hi, amanda!
okay, i was wrong, jack lord died in 1998, his widow was the one who died last year.
congrats, sprite!
bye sprite!!
wb amanda!
Wow. that long ago - I am way behind on celeb news
Bye sprite
bye sprite
does the e-word have anything to do with letters - the kind you write, not the kind you spell with
never mind - asking almost always makes me find the word
it means good digestion, amanda - the e8
oops - sorry. :-)
actually, the digestion one comes from the top e - the one in the second row is an easy one I just wasn't seeing
oh - I didn't know which you were looking for -
but thanks!
ah - like the single n word. :-) (easy, that is)
urgh, I' missing one a - i've got 2 monkeys, a church, a tree and a snake - what's missing (and what can I do with 2 monkeys, a church, a tree and a snake?)
good morning, fellow babblers
hi annie@
hi annie!
Morning Annie
morning anne!
hi fran, becca, wolvie, amanda
amandac - you are missing another snake as5.12 (I thought it was a jelly!)
hello annie
hi lynxxx
ooh, thanks lynxxx!
hello
hi herin!
Hi herin!
how is we all
hi infernal!
perfect, thanks lynxx - though that didn't help my snake phobia. A viper with horns is too much for me!
hi, herin
hi herin!
what is this viper with horns we speak of?
hello back
one of the a-words, herin
arr i though that was just a viper
I can't get the viper (although perhaps I should be grateful of that!)
oh boy - will have to monkey that snake - I know of many horned viper, but no a ones. :-(
um becca cleopatra was killed by one.
the a-words make up some sort of bizzare Garden of Eden - two monkeys see two snakes in a tree and then form a church - I think my imagination is running away with me...
LOL Amanda!!!
pe6.21 chinese cabbage has just given me fireworks
i am taking a 15min break then im off
woo hooo lynxx
I have the plural of the cleo snake - is the other viper a play on that?
I think I have that one herin - it's the other one I'm after
congrats lynx!!
Congrats lynxx!!!
um i dont have licketys list so im not sure
yay, lynxxx!!!
yay lynxx, boo chinese cabbage - we've had that before, now what was it....
yay lynxxx!
if i get the list ill never finish assignments
wolvie - put a vowel into the 4th position
got it - becca, as plus the first three letters of being mad
thanks for the chinese cabbage too lynxxx!
thanks lynx :-)
there's the Cleo snake pl. and the other one is almost the same, or almost meat-jelly
Yay - got the snake, thanks lynxx and wolvie
thats what that stuff is amanda
the jelly ends in a c, not like the a word does. just fyi. :-)
What's meat jelly?
the other as 5 is a snow thing
matty um mint jelly is a type of as5/12
gross, huh?
nope
meat jelly is an as**c, matty
the word is not in the grid, so no worries. :-)
Ahhh. Thanks
opps um i got confused
no as 5/12 is a type of horned viper
well, have to get to bed. See all youse guys later.
Well, it is, I think, if you substitute the last consonsent for something else. But then it's not the meat jelly, I guess
right, herin. :-)
Like your icon Matty - TP is also one of my favourite authors!
right, matty!
sweet dreams, Fran
nite fran
Nite Fran - sleep well
Night Fran
you could put mint jelly on snake but i beleve it tastes like chicken not pork
LOL, herin
nite fran
nitey nite, fran
im here all evening thank you
is anyone stuck on anything 'cause I need to go too!
Lynxx I'm stuck on my remaining 112 words, but I think that's a little too much to ask for help with!
ooohhh yes, lynxx - one more o fromthe top. I've got 5 versions of not closed and two versions of choose...
any clue for the eu 8 plez
ones a bit like the r**** chicken herinfernal..was talking about
hello merk - eu8&9 - the middle of this is a very well known softdrink
Well thank you Lynxxx. That's a great clue.
That was it, thanks lynxxx. Hi Merk - I think the eu is the opposite if indigestion. If indigestion is dys...., then....
Well known everywhere in the world?
good mornin all how is the grid todat?
Yes, a cola
hi shorty! not too bad
hi matty, shorty and merk
good good thank you
Got it guys - thanks. Annie.
hi annie
Hi Annie!
hi shorty, merk!
amanda - then there is 2 ou words - meaning to eject or get rid of.
hi wolvie!
((((((SHORTY))))))
Hello Babblers :)
{{{{{faerie}}}}}
hi faerie!
Hello. I think it's an interesting grid...some easy, some not.
hi faerie!
Hi Shorty and Faeriekae. but now Bye everyone!
hello farier sod
hello farier
bye lynx
faerie
and shorty
k
hi bye lynx:)
Afternoon all
and shorty
hi spellit
HI everyone, got the eu8 and 9 thanks to a great clue, may I have help with the other 9 please
is the server burping again?
hi everyone! just stopping in to see what we have today...
bye Lynxx
hello herin!
Hi TO and Peri and Wolvie :)
sorry being a little distracted tonight hello back
st 9/66 got bigger?
hi TO, peri
yes amanda i have hicups to
hi TO and peri
Gotta go and do some work. Bye everyone
bye becca
thanks spellit, but that clue is not helping me
Spellit - can you clarify?
peri, someone clued the st earlier as 'made more guiness' or something like that
op 7?
Amanda, perfect - that's the one!
most not closed, wolvie
ah. duh - thanks amanda
outen
im off to study or take over the play station
sorry
st9 first 5 letters are the drink made by Guiness... Does that help?
Oops Guinness I meant!!
spellit, got the first 5 letters, can't figure out the end
Use Past tense
Im trying but it is not accepted, will refresh and see what happens
eg fasten .... fastened!
ou 4,6 has me stuck
Peri the end is nearly "end"!
peri st5 then st7 then past tense for 9
got the st9, didn't know had to find the st7 first which was a new word for me.
thanks spellit
ou4 stick the UK abb for Street on the end
think too much noise, plural, but loose the l, merk
spet
hi back for a while, brain not working so to bed soon
Merk, it's a drum (I think), but that won't help - actually two drums, you should be able to monkey it from there
de
de
If I knew the UK abbrev. for street, I would
last 2 de's please
Well its the first 2 letters...!
I think it's the same as the US...
I have the ou5/5, but not the 4/6#
Thanks matty, but I can't get to that from the u.
merk - did you see my clue? you could also think of fluffy white stuff in the sky, just leave off the cl, and make the remainder plural that is the ou 4/6
Me either.
de6/24 ruler with absolute power bit like Tony Blair thinks he is!
Lickety does not show an ou 5, Is that my problem.
its the ou at the bottom of the grid
my lickety does. it means to throw out
I have an ou4/5, and ou6/24. I don't have anything else...
On the ou front
Oh duh, my stupidity again. I was looking at the ou on top, not the bottom f the grid.
well, look at my clue, matty -that is the ou 4/6
de6/21 a mechanism that temporarily keeps one part in a certain position relative to that of another, and can be released by applying force to one of the parts. Wow that'a a mouthful!
Got it!
Or add an e at the end and you get the relationship between France and UK...
wolvie clued the ou before, fluffly things in the sky, leave off first 2 letters, pl
I am really struggling with the p's - they are rapidly becoming my re's
geez - that's what that means! I thought it was 'to take down the canvas housing'
hi ex wren - I sympathize
have to run some chores, be back later
I have only 9 of the Ps from the top, and just three from the middle
bye annie
spellit, have that de6/24 must need one before iit
andree, do you have the bad tyrant?
one of those p's is chinese cabbage - we've had it before but I can't remember what it is
in a manner of speaking. :-)
de6/21 is how you get rid of the de6/24!
Sorry first 6/24 is how you get rid etc
thanks spellit - I was going to start digging
Phantom - episode
thx spellit
my phantoms are nopostism and euthanasia
*nepostism
erupt. I keep wondering why I can't see the R
I am stuck on pe 7/32, help please
sorry inge - haven't got it yet
I don't have that yet, inge
wow, there are few babblers right now!
just not a lot of talkative ones, inge
Got the pe7 - it starts with a writing implement and finishes with an anagram of those things at the end of your feet!
thanks, spellit!
thx spellit!
Good mornign, Babblers!
I keep forgetting the plurals! They are everywhere
morning BGL
yup, there's plenty of them on this board...
have exactly half, bbl
thx for pe 7 spellit
mornin babblers!
wow, found my phantom word - "spate"
hi evan!
mornin' evan
pouted is my phantom word
hi shade eagle
bye peri
mornin' wolvie
morning! Just popping in for a minute before school
thanks spellit, came up for air, and there was the pe 7
well, take child to school in the pouring rain
hi kl
hi evan, shade and everyone else who has come in, I am distracted by this grid
I'm not really awake enough to be attempting this right now, but that's not stopping me at the moment
my brains not working...as 5/12 not the tree?
kl... how was the rest of the wedding weekend?
I'm actually finding this board to be very difficult. Usually I'm halfway or near by this time; as of now I only have 64 words
like the meat jelly, cauze, just change the last letter to another consonant
Cauze - one of them is
Other as5 is a horned viper
as 5/12:; same first 3 letters, then third vowel and snake
the pe's are killing me, samantha
thanks
I'm not sure what
oh, the wedding bit the big one. Sis-in-law pretty much had wedding family photos and didn;t bother with anyone else in the portraits except mom, dad, and those in he rwedding party, which meant everyone but my daughter, son, and me.
taking me down; I'm listless as of yet
I need coffee
wow, kl - bad news - sorry
going for coffee refill, brb
but daughter was SOOOO cute on the dance floor (we couldn't leave til the band took a break) it made up for the evening
Well, at least it's over! (of course she will be your sis-in-law for a while)
and had I know we wouldn't be in the photos, I wouldn't have dragged my daughter to the church. I had to fight with her for 20 minutes for her to put on her dress
image this: I had to tell her I was leaving, so I stepped into the hall of the hotel, letting her scream MOMMY and pounding and crying on the door. and of course that was when peopel WALKED by!
and I don't mind the screaming, but, ,you know, I would have liked to put both my daughter and I through that hell for someone who appreciated it, you know
oh man - this just gets worse, kl - glad the dancing daughter made it okay. :-)
sounds like a bummer all the way around the ceremony and pictures.
yep, it bit. :)
but, you know, my sis-in-law hated me from the day I met my husband (oh., 11/87) so, I am kinda used to it
my phantom word - pseudo!
I've got to stop looking for other people's phantom words
my phantom has been anything with an OU
It's not fair to your kids, though. You are an adult and can write it off, but your kids...
oooh, bg - VERY close to a word, just a bit long. :-)
not that your's isn't a word, you understand. :-)
well, they live in WI and we are in IL, so, we just won't have much to do with them anymore and when she does her passive-aggresive snipes t me, I am not letting them go for the sake of family harmony anymore
Thnx wolvie... I didn't know that was a word! :)
hey, I didn't know either. cool!
:-)
brb - all! Have to wake small one to take big one to school! Darn rain
BGL - that happens to me here a lot.
okay, I think I've decided this board needs an R somewhere in it. I'm getting a ton of phantom words that end with R
Poteen is my phantom
Yeh, me too. You'd think I start increasing my vocab and/or remembering the words for an upcoming puzzle, but it doesn't usually work tht way.
LOL Shade
I've got to see the word at least 5 or 6 times before I have a shot of remembering it
That's not unusual, shade--I'm the same way
I type words over and over forgetting I already have it, so no hope remembering for another day
I think its called "öldtimers disease
ö
this all sounds disturbingly familiar... :-)
My current phantom word is "sapient"
hey! the log now takes special characters!
tees
whoops
man I already had that word :)
Sorry to disappoint
TO6-7 combo -- mans hairpiece
oh cheers evandine!
good job evan, now I need to find them. :-)
oh bother - se6/18 and se6/21 directly after the 'group of 7'?
w0000t! More than halfway! Now I can go check out the lists without breaking my silly, self-imposed rule!
I just opened lickety myself, sam - same reason. :-)
Oh, I haven't actually *opened* Lickety yet--I just *can*, now, if I want to :D
the 6/18 I have is like a couch, amanda
well I did, lol, sam
it's before that, wolvie - my monkeys just can't figure it out
any hints for the words coming from the top 2 E's?
ah - still working on that one myself
I'm glad others have silly "self-imposed" rules also...
BGL, what would life be without meaningless restrictions and goals?
eu - soft drink, plus vowel evan
se/6 is it ... I se** a letter + ** phone home
the other from that top e is the plural of the clue I gave you
nope, yet another se, mooch
wolvie, I don't see a soft drink in there *anywhere*
Amanda, one of the SEs is a wierd compound--have you ever se* *** a dish of milk for a cat at night?
sure you do sam - the eu's are happy digestion
not coke, but Pe......, sam
Happy digestion? Have you and wolvie gone crazy?
yay, sam - one more se...
nope - the exact def is "good digestion", sam. :-)
*interestink*
more or less, yes, Sam - but it really does mean that (sort of)
got it wolvie & amanda, thx!
hows about for that other top E?
amanda - the other se6 sounds like a sugar se* up + dextr***
Thank goodness I have finished the p's at last. It was an uphill struggle
The other se has a chemically-ending, though the word does not mean a chemical of any sort
you mean the e in the second row, evan?
Think lact*** intolerance
phew! Thanks, BGL - 1 word to go, and it's....
wolvie -- yup
exwren - I am going to ask you for clues. be warned. :-)
i don't have that one evan, although an earlier babbler said it was very easy - which figures
oh, got it now...
ex wren - can you clue the pe 6/21 - last one please?
...something I've never heard of, but it gave me FIREWORKS!!
Yeah! Amandacath1
Congratulations amanda!
congrats amanda!
Congrats!
two vowels following pe4/5
congrats amanda :)
so, can I offer any help?
Yes. Can you clue some of the Es? They're almost all driving me batty
that is folwoing the last pe4/5 wolvie
Yay amanda!
Good Night I have been working silently without the chat but falling asleep at keyboard
Also, can you put a blankrety-blanking R in this puzzle? I need one.
Anyone else in the Midwest/Chicago area today? Man, this weather is only good for a fish!
thanks, ex wren - got that. wouldn't have without your clue!
G'night Tiny
yes I agree
good night
well, let's see... how 'bout a long story about swords?
nite tiny
night Tiny
I have two sword-related ones, though I'm not sure of any particular stories related to them
...that comes to a close 3 times
2nd as 5 pls?
but if there were a story it would be an ....
AS + to take a ***S (when you go to the bathroom)
thnx
amanda - i am dense today - there is no c, so can you help me out a bit?
I shouldn't be clueing should I? So tired I am a little umm colorful
clue for es5/12 please
laurel, you keep it right up. Your tiredness is all that's keeping some of us awake
almost, wolvie - the other long-story-word that begins the same way
es 5/12 - e + opp of go, plural for 6/21
ah. thanks amanda!
:) THanks, Sam!
Over half way... time for a break. BBL
bye bgl
bye BGL!
see ya BGL!
thanks, bunny! :)
<temper tantrum> I WANNA RRRRRRRRRRR IN MY PUZZLE! </temper tantrum>
yw
I want a R too, Samantha!
lol sam
Think of is this way, a high profile letter like an "R" would add at least fifty more words to the grid...
think if we all throw enough of a tantrum, an R will appear? :D
klaurel, methinks there's only one way to find out for sure
WEe're going to have to ask Dr_God
They'd all be re's too.
true! with all good things comes a bad
got the esclue at last, thx bunny
OK, bunny, your superior logic wins the day. I will be content with "pretend" as a mere phantom
I considered wanting an r myself, but then I realized that there would probably be about twice as many words, so decided we were well of without it
aaarrggghh! EU?
any hints for the 9 letter words?
I've been absentee, remind me how to skip to the next line without posting into chat by hitting enter...
no no no, no re's, please. The p's were bad enough
kangaroo -- theres an EU 8/55 - 9/72 combo
Then st 9/66, builds off of the st 5/12 and st 7/32 preceding it.
klaurel - if indigestion is dys******, then good digestion is your eu word
evan, a little help with that EU would be nice. :D
bunny, care to elaborate on that ST group? ;)
thanks, amanda
eu + Coke's rival + vowel then make it plural
Someone gave an excellent clue earlier, eu 8/55, eu + a brand of soda + 1st vowel
my favorite clue of the day - st9 = made more guiness
well folks, 50 left to go - bbl - must do some things today. :-)
add onto the st 5/12 ( heavy or bulky) or...st + opp of in + 10 (lose a T)
Past tense for the 9 (BTW, I'm way out of practice giving clues).
bye wolvie, with 34 to go I am off to bed, happy babbling, I am finding this grid very difficult
worked for me bunny!! thanks!
thanks, worked great
good clues for the eu's
dennet
nite andree
whoops sorry
I don't think I'll ever forget that eu-word. I have this picture in my head of a cartoon stomach with arms and legs bouncing euphorically around a room shouting "Yippee!"
bunnyvicious, glad to see you. I really missed you these past weeks....months
...with a soda can in its hand.
Been about two months. I have two sets of very ill grandparents who needs meals and cleaning done for them. Tack on the five kids and buying a house...well....
ouch, bunny!
hee hee! Now I'm wondering if that's where the name came from...google, here I come..
I keep wondering how you and your neighbor are geting along. but you have moved away from that crazy guy
no need to apoligize mooch its not a word hehe
Yup, good riddance to the psycho, hello scorpians, tarantulas, and coyotes. I never thought of myself as a city girl, but if I see one more goat walk down the road...
so clues for those eu words?
anyone have a hint for the je6 and 7?
that je 6 rhymes with the te 5/10, double the cons in the middle.
a girls name shortened + something you use when you fish. Then the plural. je6 and je7
think of Olympian Bruce J*****, but change the last letter to T and then PL for 7
phan -- scroll down to my 9:00 clue
I need but one more word, no doubt a fishy one: I need se 5/10 just above the dark brown color and after shipping
bunny, i was curious and looked up Weatherford--looks like a very interesting little town! http://tinyurl.com/ltmeh
OMG actually, the 6 is another spelling for MY middle name. AHAHHAAHA
and here is the test of how old KC is! :)
Inge, add a vowel to the shipping
thnx Evanadine!
Google is out friend. 1903: "In keeping with its origin as a pharmacist's concoction, (brand name) inventor Caleb Bradham's advertising praises his drink as "Exhilarating, invigorating, aids digestion."
Une, it is! Red-neck Bible belt, we are in Peaster, little out of Weatherford.
FIREWORKS yeah
congrats, inge!
Go inge!
believe me, i know about Bible belt . . . !!
Yay Inge!
Congratulations!
yaya Inge!
KL old enough that I knew the answer to Bruce. ;-)
:)
...and Redneck, I forgot, Nashville. I';ve never seen that site, we look so purty. I'm gonna dedicate a site to the "actual" town where they rowded so many buildings on the interstate it takes 30 min to get through 2 lights.
Good morning Babblers. Inge--congrats. Bunny--I love your icon. My rabbit is at my feet, feeding me clues.
bunny, i grew up in a little town northeast of here where our phone no. was 26! (many moons ago, of course!)
Thx, I'm just to lazy to shop for new pics everyday.
LOL, you've got me beat! But I still don't like the livestock trolling the neighborhood.
two new features you may not know about, Bunny, are Stidmamas story, which she usually tells at 9 pm grid time. First 41 chapers are in Babanon interest section; and the very funny exchange of stories in the icons of chj, Evananut and Renfield, keeps me laughing anyway
Afternoon all.........
op 7?
any Floridians logged on at the moment?
PA 7?
even more OP 4/5
or I should say the MOST OP 4/5
pa7 what designers used to do before everything went digital!
I'll have to look at anon. What is the icon story all about?
thnx
I'm from Florida Amandacath.
brb, steppin' out for a smoke...
hello
oh great, deb - how long of a drive is it from Orlando to Sarasota?
Hi harp
Probably about 125 miles
Maybe a little over 2 hours
harpjane...SNAP!!!
chj, one of our newer babblers and an excellent cluer, grew up in an orphanage down the road from where Nut and Ren grew up, the stories all grow from there
right ow they are in a pirate phase, all imaginary of curse
*course
this no R is really messing with me!
wow..but for one damn s..there could be a great compound word in there..so what you wash with..and suds..ack
does any one have a clue for the st/9
Thanks, deb. Boy, am I going to be spending alot of time in cars when I come home this winter ... ugh.
shorty extend your st 7/32
oh ok thank you
Fireworks! Those 'p' words nearly killed me.
Yeah for Merk!!!
yay merk
Yay Merk!
Une, that's neat. I don't think I'm near any babblers :(
bravo Merk
Good job Merk
anya, are you still here? do you want clues?
Thanks! I'm leaving unless someone needs a clue yet.
Well, I'm off, guys. Have fun with the rest of the grid!
shorty didyou have any luck with st9 ? It builds off the last st 5/12
I better get, but before I do... I need a little bit of advice concerning my kitties.
Sorry, I don't know much about cats except from my daughter.
What did you want to know bunny?
We just bought a house nd the front porch is an elevated and fenced in deck. What can I sprinkle/spray/shove under it to keep the cats from using it as a litter box?
morning all
I'd suggest a google search on that one.
Inge-
A dog ..
Inge-
Morning Raelite.
Morning rae
Hi torgone
Inge, I am still here. Having typing issues, apparently.
bunny,..mothballs.
Well you all seem well started and not in need of clues so I'll meander off now. Good luck with your kitties, bunny.
yes Anya, what can I do for you?
bunny - cats hate lavender...I have several plants in front of places I don't want EL Catto to venture
G'bye merk
my neighbor years ago had about40 cats..and they were always..err, littering in my flower boxes..etc
I was told to use mothballs as a deterrent..and it worked!
however, mothballs are toxic to cats, so if you have one that eats unusual things, it could be a problem.
lavender sounds like a helluva better alternative than mothballs..the smell, ack
Wow
I'll do BOTH! Does lavedar grow easily? We have pretty rocky and dry soil.
what I did was plant catnip on one side of the garden and lavender where I didn't want him to go...so far, so good
i hate to sound too cruel..but if the mothballs were toxic..so be it..she had no right to allow 40 dang cats to roam..
especially in MY space..It was horrendous
you can put the lavender in containers...then they would be a mobile task force!! lavender is very easy to grow
well, i understand that, liana, i am just saying that if bunny's cats are pets, she might not want to use that.
anya..i agree whole heartedly
:)
i have also used mothballs when a neighbor's cat kept killing birds and bunnies in our yard.
Forty is a little much, we have ten. But I like to have them around to keep the snakes at bay, we are in copperhead territory.
and the lavender should be on sale this time of year...you want to get establish plants
okay..time for my shower..happy babbling, gang..xoxoxo'
how about lavender oil to get started, bunny?
bye lian
Bye liana
inge, I need 89 words. I am sure you know through our psychic connection which ones. ;)
Good idea. I try to limit my nursery trips to once a month. I tend to overspend now that I have four acres to decorate, lol.
I reached 100 words. Off to do some stuff
or plant brambles - then you get blackberries as well as cat deterrent :P

hi Wolvie! great clue Une, and great icon too!
hey, abe--thanks!
thanks, uneaixoise!
julesb, the de5/14 is where the trains come (or where I get all my hardware supplies, Home De5/14)
(and the pl is another de6/24)
anyone have the op 7/32?
doh! how could I have missed that. Thanks
The most 0p4/5
torgone's clue has op6/24 my eyes! I had the op7, but was reading it as a Shakespearian conjugation of the verb and not understanding why it counted! Duh.
yay!!!
ugh... the ne 5/12 and 6/21 pair are so frustrating!
ne + upper section...and pl
There are also a couple po4/5ic versions ..
*yawn* afternoon babblers
2 left -- both ps 12's -----heeeelp!!!!
ne5/12 - ne + opp of bottom, and pl
ne and opposite to bottom plus plural
ps - both - muscles, cybernan
wow, i would have never foudn those. thanks!
hello eva
exact def: either of two muscles, one on each side of the loin, extending internally from the sides of the spinal column to the upper end of the femur, which assist in flexing and rotating the thigh and flexing the trunk on the pelvis.
although the spelling on the one is a greek-ish plural not found in the dictionary
do they both end in three vowels, wolvie?
no - just the one first is a traditional plural, the other is the same first 4 letters, then 3rd vowel.
ah -- got it! -- thanks, wolvie>>>>>>>>Hurrah!!!!!
the first 4 letters: ps and then add a grain, leaving out the t
cool! and congrats!!
Hey guys - based on this meeting I'm in right now, it looks like I may get to keep my job longer than anticipated... keep your fingers crossed
i need the first de 5/12 please
Hi Lady- good luck!
virtually crossed, lady. :-)
cool, lady........will cross toes as well
de5/12 - pl of little depressions
You guys have been so supportive, I really appreciate it
Kalea, thank you!
Good luck, ladyn.
good luck ladyN
I hve my toes crossed, too ( which really creeps out my son lol)
Hi all.
lol, vic
hi charm
lol lady
Hi Wolvie
anyone want a clue before I go for lunch?
Hello, Charm!
How about for that 8 or 9s?
I can cross my right pinkie over my fourth toe, it just gives him the willies
anyone hve the sa 6/21 and 7/32?
yep - first pe 5/12, and the second pe 5/14 - please
Cyber is that Abe Vigoda on your icon?
eu8 - means good digestion, spelled eu + coke's rival, + vowel
vic - good pic of your detective - I looked for that this morning. :-)
Hi Charm
(pl for eu9, of course)
Hi, abe!
thanks vic - good one!
Wolvie, apparently it's one they have hanging in Balliol along with other famous alums!
(and Lord Peter is one of my faves....)
abe - your icon is the pic I keep for remembrance
ahhh - good to know, vic!
sa 6 and 7?
Wolvie- i thought it was appropriate; they are turning the lights on again tonight
oh - nice - perfect, in fact
sorry jamie - I don't have those yet
no prob. me neither!
I think cyber left for lunch already. :-)
hello0
sa6/21 - some tropical tree, spelled like Truman of recent movies, with diff first letter
hi, Harp
thanks vic!
hi harp!
hi harp
Hello, harpjane.
can someone help me with the first pe 5/12 and the second pe 5 /14? I'm sure I'll rate fish....
can't get the de 5/12. more help please
I"ll get right to the point. Could I get a clue or two, for the ps 5/12 words? I have the 5/16. Thanks
the first de5/12 is pl of the de4/5 you get in your car when someone bumps it lightly
the def for the ps: either of two muscles, one on each side of the loin, extending internally from the sides of the spinal column to the upper end of the femur, which assist in flexing and rotating the thigh and flexing the trunk on the pelvis. (both)
wolvie- the first pe 5/14 is something that is waiting to happen. the other one is the macaroni, minus a consonant
Or, pl of last name of Hitchhiker's Guide hero.
(for de5/12, that is)
thanks that was a foolish word to miss
I have the car one, vic. I have the macaroni, too abe - let me look at these a sec
or ps: ps+long feathery extravagant scarf b***
(That was magzel asked for the de5/12, Wolvie.)
de 5/12: what you have on your car when you've had a fender bender
abe - I show a pe 5/12 between waiting and the macaroni... on my lickety
Oh, I like your detective, raelite -- but I don't think she's sufficiently traditionally built in that picture! :)
I liked the colours...my copy of the book doesn't have a lady on the cover!
What's a macaroni?
pe 5/12: a sauce for pasta made from basil, garlic and onion
hey - rae did better than me - I only have a hat for mine!!
Got the sauce...what's the macaroni?
pe5/12 - odd pl of male "member"
I have the sauce, cyber -but thanks
That's the one - thanks. Still looking for (as it's been mentioned) the ps - I have the fake, and the muscle.
that's probably the one, vic - I'll work on it. (lol)
macaroni clue: a type of pasta that's tube shaped and straight with ridges on it
my brain is just totally befuddled, I am not getting any of the clues today
raelite, it looks like that copy is not in English!
wolvie- that pe 5/12 - take the macaroni, lose a consonant, add a plural
thanks! It's something we all have two of, yet most of us don't know the name!
I know...it's in francais (my mother tongue)
the other ps is still the muscle, matty - just a different ending - third vowel instead of snake
pe 5/12: drop one of the double letters from the pasta and pluralize
oh man - thanks abe!
Ta much!
and cyber
im done, thanks for all the help.
Harpjane, I sure hope you aren't referring to the pe5/12 !!!
could someone clue the de6,21?
now - how about that second 5/14 (pe) ?
Rae, whats the french clue?
Congrats, oggy!
congrats oggy!!
lol Vic, that's be a cold day in hell, wouldn't it!
pe 5/14: plural of the 4/6 before it
I think my hair is pulled too tight, my head hurts and my eyes feel funny
de6/21 - a catch or lever, but looks like an alliance minus the last e
thanks cyber - I need to remember plurals!
de 6/21: de + canvas shelter
(well, not really an alliance so much as an easing of relations, I guess...)
ah thanks!
(But cybernan's clue is more to the point anyway!)
yes, cybernan gets kudos for cluing for dummies
I'd love to get another 10 before going to the list...but I'm lagging.
lol -- I gave up with 50 to go, matty
47 left, all S words. What was I thinking?
good luck, harp!
does anyone have a clue for pa 7?
Be brave, be strong, harp!
And you, too, matty!
If I find another 9 - I'd have 100, and so 86 to go. You're all smarter than me.
pa7: glue + opposite of down
pa7/40 - stick together, pa5 + opp of down
pa 7: compound word - glue + not down
wow -- talk about thinking alike!
heheh
pe 7/32 pls
Just like our brains were pa5-ed together.
off for lunch -- back at the flip :)
pe 7/32: latin 5 prefix + pantyh***
pe7/32 - something chemical, start with pe4 meaning enclosed and add adj ending that rhymes with the n--- on your face
bye cyber
bye cybernan
Bon appetit, cybernan.
thnx Vicuna
Three more before I can go to the list...(then I'll have 100 words, and 86 left)
Dang, there are a lot of s's...
I just started, I only have 32 words
thanks everyone for the pa 7 clue! (sorry for the delay)
so sorry to leave you hanging all, I had to do some work :(

kite festival is the 23rd and 24th - we'll be staying there through the weekend.
Whats the Kite Festival, sounds fun
lady- so your job is keeping you beyond mid -september now?
lady, i seem to recall you're an RN. if you want to move to new england you can make about a billion dollars and/or work whenever you want - major shortage.
we could probably meet up with you there... we'll "Do the Puyallup" this coming weekend.
pa5/12 just had a vowel in the middle of pa4/5 after it
sounds fun mama! what's the "do the puyallup"?
the 2nd pi 4/5 pls? I just can't see it
ooh my feedback being requested - brb...
"The Puyallup" refers to the western washington fair at the Puyallup (native name, pronounced pee-u-wallop) fairgrounds
Fiz, New England would be fun, but I'd lose my husband lol
i love state fairs. do you get to judge the prize pies/pigs/jams and jellies? that's the best part....
ne 5/12 pls
pi = sp for floor? (I think)
Fiz, you should come to the NC State Fair, its a hoot
ne + opp of bottom and pl
yes, Charm its span for floor
there are "people's choice" type awards, yes. I love the crafts barn with all the quilts and other handmade things.
I love the crafts and the giant vegetables

YAY abe!
Well, back to work, I'll stop by later

yw Charm
thanks matty! :P
Why did you get good wishes, Hurshy - I'm a fan, but I missed out on any good wishes...
What are you thanking me for, Ornith?
it was just a work thing, tor... i was berated... in the Nicest Possible Way... over email, and that would have been ok were it not CC'd to a couple of other people...
We've not seen you get passionate about birthdays . . .
matty... i spose people just really identify me with trek. well one was my dad. he called. he NEVER calls. but he's the one who introduced me to trek.
Yikes! I hate that . . .
sa 6/21 pls?
I didn't have some of the ones you mentioned, matty!

abe was quite quick on the trigger on that one!
sorry everyone, my procrastination levels at work are high right now ;)
I'm a sad git, who can actually name the episodes...
hey - no problem, abe - good on you, as they say
who can't name the episodes? ;)
:)
my dad was in a star trek movie
tg - s's done - now to finish the t's
Really, rae - which one and as what?
one of those movies they make at universal studioes
the thing with me is, i can (and do) relate just about everything to star trek... STOPS DEAD IN TRACKS
Cool!
echoes matty's question
very cool, rae
it was a scene from I can't remember which one...the movie where they have the red suits, except for doctor guy
he wore a blue suit
*forgets housework, waits in rapt attention*...
well what character did he play?
Herm. That doesn't narrow it down quite enough! LOL.
anyway, they had gone for their first vacation since having my brother and I to universal studios
i'm a trekkie, but an odd one - other than the first series, my fav was DS9 ( but I liked NG, too)
that IS odd
DS9 rocked.
It had an arc, and was dark and super, after the first couple of seasons.
wait, ok, what year did he go, raelite?
and my dad had just come off a cast from breaking his arm (he attmepted a triple lutz...) so anyhow they were looking for extras for a scene that would be playing in the background of the movie...this was 1989
The Visitor
yes it did, matty - great story lines, fab actors
Trials and Tribblations
Far Beyond the Stars
In the Pale Moonlight
if only these were clues matty!! ;-0
Knockout
(that last one isn't an ep title)
clue for ne5/12 please?
so they called out to the audience and my dad leapt up, on top of the back of the theatre seat and screamed "PICK MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" then jumped up and down and ran back and forth till they picked him

ne5/12 = ne + opp of bottom and pl.
your dog or cat + Japanese plant ending

1989... that's when five came out... so either that or six... i don't know much about filming schedules
ditto, Wolvie
thanks abe and Wolvie (again!)
tricorder dear
Five sucked.
well was he directed by shatner or nimoy?
he had to beam from the ship to a planet...open the palm pilot and tell captain kirk that there was no intelligent life on the planet
well that sounds like it must be five then
JE6 and its related 7 anyone?
it was the second director, there wasn't anyone famous there
je6 rhymes with upper house of US congress
five was pretty bad
matty, female donkey
aniston and fish catcher, matty - then pl
Five is the only one I CANNOT re-watch
je6 - a mule, nickname for Mz Lopez's name + what you catch butterflies in

Cheers guys - that's the one! Now just 70 left...
you can do it Wolvie!
heh, matty, I have 71 left, race you! :P
Could I have a clue for the TO6/24 please
Sorry Rae - not even your illustrious dad's presence (or should that be your dad's illustrious presence) could make me watch that dreck.

ps 5/12 please? I have the ps + b** constrictor
Ornith, you're on :D
jakes, hairpiece
it was a big moment in our life
to6/24 - looks like a dead squirrel on a bald man's head
jakesmum- man's hairpiece
jilli, little tree
you could just fast forward to that part so you don't have to see a Vulcan laugh like a crazy man
the only places in six are khitomer, rura penthe, praxis (which they don't visit)...and earth...nothing you'd beam down to and say there was no life... right guys?
Ornith your a lifesaver, thats been bugging me for the last half hour! YAY FIREWORKS!

yes, ornith. chemical ending is confusing, what do you mean?
jaime, it's just an ending that often goes on chemicals. this one sounds like round letters

hi stid welcome to the 'old stagers' club!!
peri, that was just a comment after your fish comment.
okay get our names straight, Fran, I am confused enough as it is :)
LOL feeling every bit of my many decades, mo -- worked with first graders for a bit today -- they are so different from my older kids...
you know that comes with age, too, Fran. :)
got the so5, thanks Fran
I already call the kids by each others' names, etc., like I swore I'd never do
52 left time for another break

don't remind me krista!! i'm always mixing mine up.

LOL! Why didn't I think of that. I'll do it!
clues for any of the de6/24's??
Are you a teacher, Stid?
I call all my students "Bob" -- even girls.
hey...at my age sometimes i forget my own...(name)
mrslf, bad rulers get de****d
jfarber, that is funny!!
mrslfd3... one is another word for tyrant
no, there were too many hoops to jump through when I was in college for the amount of income it would give. I went for clerical work which paid the same but was a lot easy!
The rule is -- if they haven't made an effort to make me learn their name by midterms, then their grade "bobs" too -- at "C" level.
*easier*
another de6/24 is plural of the train stations
one is the plural of the place you board or disembark from buses or trains
That is funny. I can't imagine how I would be with a whole room full to remember, and ones I didn't give birth to, at that!
Bad pun, but they remember it -- and remember to participate, too!
oh, you had mentioned about the first graders, so I thought you were teaching
that's cool jfarber! i always liked teachers with a sense of humor.
In middle school electives, we have 8 "roomsful" to remember -- every other day, time four classes a day. And first midterms are five weeks after the year begins, so I need something to get them to teach me their names!
Dorky humor is about it, for teachers, tho.
phantom word: septum
mandatory name tags!!
mrslfd, the last two de6/24s are anagrams of each other.
no, I have been a tutor and have worked in classrooms (mother is a teacher) for a long time, but prefer to do support work.
thanks, got "tyrant" and "trainstations"
and sepsis ML.
fran, what's the third one?
mrslfd, first one is de + strike a **** (vogue)
Can't see the name tags from the other side of the lab computer -- and I tried name cards, but I couldn't see the KIDS over the computers then!
ooooohhh, thanks.
thank goodness you know madonna! :-)
is it sad that she's essential to a clue?? :)
I don't think I'd have the patience to be a teacher, though I used to like the idea. My relatives who are go through so much stress with school politics. The kids are the easy part.
wow! just got to halfway. I need 7 more for my regular goal of 100...
heading for a list. brb
yes, sort of mrslfd, but she's not too bad as celebrities go.

This year was no different. For the first time, John and Paul worked the harvest together as adults, and Andy got to see his father in action.

se6/21 = ready, se*, go + not in
se 6/18 - se + brag about oneself
(last) se 6/21 = se3/3 = win 6 games in tennis + opposite of out
A quick bend, twist, turn and lift and a sheaf of hay was ready. Row after row, field after field, the grain was gathered in.

hahaha owl
mass is the lady bug
i don;t know chj - we have a mosquito festivial down here in texas
if you think that's a joke, you obviously have never lived there
On the third day of the harvest, Sebastian appeared, looking ill at ease and out of place. He was nearly as big as Otto and Owain, but not as muscular.

Sebastian shrugged and his father hopped off and walked back to his task.

Sebastian finished his row, handed the team to his grandfather, who had arrived with lunch and grabbed a piece of roast chicken.
they were in stamford this summer TO
Peter and the other men came up, hot and tired from their work and started to wash up in the buckets Nan and Doris had set out in the shade.
Peter took a look at his son, sighed and walked up to him, drawing him away from the others.

ren.....are you babbling

She stood, holding the ladle, and watched him stomp off with a scythe in her hand.
Silently, she walked back to her grandfather. Peter watched his son, and his niece sorrowfully.

Soon enough, people and animals were refreshed and it was time to return to work. A high, thin haze was moving across the sky, the kind that presages frosty nights and coming rains.
speen queen?
Thanks, chj
spleen queen?
Sebastian finished mowing the patch as the rest of the teams were heading back out. He was hot, and he was tired, and his temper was rising.
I watched Crash the other night... I was impressed

Adam was packing up the remains of the meal. Doris was putting the dishes and towels back in the cart. Nan had was putting the water buckets in neat stacks when her cousin came storming up.
i would believe it ren, all that rough-housing with little sis and the wee orphan
I need the last to 5/12 and so 5/14..pls
Peter was standing by the head of the team for his son's mower, looking very solemn.

Sebastian didn't see his father, so focused was he on the absence of food... he walked up to Adam and gave him a shove. His grandfather fell against the cart and slid to the ground.
do they have a salon on your pirate vessel ren?
Doris turned on Sebastian, with a large wooden platter in her hands. Her eyes flashed, and she brandished the platter before her.
no salon...no salon...
Nan cried out and ran to her grandfather's side.
to 5/12 there are two of them the first one is to+ urinate the second one is to+ slang for getting drunk in the UK
But the commotion startled the little donkey, and as Nan ran in front, it bolted.
oh no!
Peter could not reach Nan in time, and she fell under the wheels.
Sebastian and Doris watched in horror as first Adam, whose arm had fallen under the cart and then Nan cried out.
I need the third to 5/12
Adam sat up almost immediately, groaning.
But Nan did not move.
Paul and the other came racing back from the field.

Doris sat by Nan, hovering, but afraid to touch her.

Nan was pale, and her skin was clammy. Doris grabbed a large towel and put it over her sister, then looked helplessly at her father.

Oh..I am soo sorry
bubba218 someone who is very holy
no problem since those weren't words from the puzzle. we've all done it.
Adam was rocking back and forth, holding his injured arm, but refusing any help.
Paul and Peter concentrated on Nan.

They sent John to fetch Esmeralda and Gilly, and Daniel to get Helena.

"Is Grampy okay?"
bluecat: at the bottom is listed lickety split's babble clues. A fabbo help for all
oh ok thank you
Paul nodded, "Yes, Grampy will be okay. Do you hurt?"
Nan tried to smile, but it was too much effort. She nodded, yes --- and closed her eyes.
IBD, Thanks, Pyros for me
Peter was looking at ground. The image of Nan's body was clear in the soft ground.

Adam tried to stand, and Doris was at his side, scolding him. "Grampy, don't even think of moving until the doctor gets here! We know it's broken, but we can't give you anything for the pain unless we know that's all it is!"
thanks bubba. :-)
Otto and Owain were unharnessing the teams with Andy and the other young helpers, leaving the mowers in the field and leading the animals back to their pasture.
A few birds flew overhead as Helena came racing up, followed by Daniel.
She was pale and out of breath, but assessed the situation quickly.
ty
you're welcome svso
Adam she had moved to a more comfortable position by a fallen log so he could lean back. She gently propped up the broken arm with towels and told him to stay put.
I'm missing a de6/24--I think the last one. help?
Nan had not spoken again, and was even more pale. Paul was pale too, and shaking with grief, but he held her gently, having found a position that made her breathing easier.

A cry escaped Gilly, and Esmeralda silenced her with a look. "No need for that, see? the ground was soft. She'll make it."
Paul's face untwisted at those words, but he held his breath.
which one are you looking for natasha?

Andy hovered at the periphery, and Esmeralda looked straight at him, "I need fresh, cold water as fast as you can bring it. And don't worry, she'll be fine."

I'd love to have the set of those movies... Too bad there's not a "team" like the Charleses in today's movies
