okay, will give it a few more then giving up for the night I think
thanks, broll
hi nrkii
hi all
did someone get the 8 yet? what does it start with and any 7's too?
phantom word: wonder
the 8 starts with a w
wo 8/60
and is the plural of the 7 just before it
the 8 is a group of concerned people
w 7/44 x2, w 8/60
another 7 is what the previous 7 and that 8 do
sn 7/44 - so 7/28 - wo 7/44 x2
then there
is lots of the white stuff coming down..
oh thanx Susan and helen and nan!
i'm giving up for now - 22 left - getting a headache here
good nite everyone :)
nite helen!
bye, helen..
nite helen
nite hk

poplar!
native to Tennessee
hmm - different kind of poplar from what I've seen
it does -- for one word -- then I lose the connection again. I don't know what's been entered and what hasn't withouth checking the entire list all the time -- very frustrating! -- must be my server if no one else is having a problem.

there are a couple of them right here on my street
i want owies to be a word!

Fame was fleeting it seems
sorry BBL visitors
ttfn lynxxx
Good morning ex-Wren - sorry, was on the phone there.
It won't take defur. That's what happened to Spangle yesterday at the groomers, so why won't it take?
it won't take the person who puts in or takes out the fu4/8 bdfore the fu5/20 either... and someone has to do it so it ought to take it
I agree.
finally less than 10 to go
I might make it before morning/bedtime after all
How topical Haz :)
I have to say, this dog smells better than I do.
lol
Which is not often the case, I hasten to add!
rofl
anyone found the wo6/33 and will I need a fish?
wo6/33 - a past tense of old fashioned 'accustomed to'
Ah the magic of a "Haz clue" ;) thanks.
Glad it helped.
I agree FMitch... they're always so eloquent
Thank you metal - I'm glad you like them too.
You're most welcome Haz.
I was going to change my icon to today's theme but coudn't find a good icon. It was going to be the infamous babblet lipstick tree which hasn't cropped up for ages now.
I just picked the first thing that popped into my head... not representative of my area, just one of which I like the sound
I was just checking on the icon of the day - I'm pretty lazy these days about the icon, only changing when the fancy takes me, or on Fridays. I love clue icon Friday.
on those Fridays, I'm never sure whether or not we're supposed to pick one clue and stick with it or keep changing them as our solved list grows...
Me too Haz, icon clue Friday has so many possibilities metal you can stick with one or change as many times as you like
You just do what you want, metal. It's fun, no matter how people approach it.
I have severe brain fog... the caffeine's wearing thin.
Take a break if you can or want. Maybe the words will be clearer later.
More caffine or time for bed?
morning all. here for a few minutes. have severe everything fog after running round a field at top speed trying to get a pheasant away from Hobbit
neither yet... not quite time for bed, but more caffeine will have me up and down to the restroom all morning instead of sleeping
Hi Ata
oh my goodness
a pheasant?
Oh heavens Ata, did you manage to save it?
Good morning Atalante. I bet Hobbit doesnt smell nearly as nice as my Spangle this morning. She was at the groomers yesterday.
or is it nothing but fluff and feathers?
yeah ... she likes chasing them ... and no, she smells horrid! all muddy and sweaty! and yes, pheasant lived to fight another day :)
We can all breathe easy. Except for Atalante who I can hear puffing and panting from here.
awwww I bet Spangle looks gorgeous! You should put a post-trim pic up for general admiration :)
I'll maybe do that later - I have RDA this morning so I should really be getting on with heading out the door.....
By the way, did you finish at a decent hour last night, Atalante?
yup! hurshy helped me with the last few :)
Good! You sounded weary.
felt very very pleased with myself for not looking at a list at all!
yayyy Ata
Bye Haz, see you later and enjoy RDA
I was. just feeling stupidly stubborn LOL
Thanks FMitch - I've 28 to go, so I'll run them down later.
Have a good day - see you all later.
and yes Haz, one beuatiful Spangle pic requested for later :)
Just incase anyone else is spending ages looking for the su5/14 - think animal skin.
ty! wasn't looking but will gratefully accept!
Some words like that I am so blind to, earlier kicked myself for not spotting the white stuff that falls from the sky.
there are some words that I can *never* seen. Ocean is the biggest one.
I sound that one, but didn't see the plural
hi everyone, how is it today?
Hi Pappou - it's a good one today
oh good, 4 down and 116 to go
metal there is a sn7 too, have you got that one?
woot! found the 8!
I don't have a list open, what does the 8 begin with?
yayyy Ata
woohoo!
hi Pappou

hi metal

ah, found it, thanks
ok must dash into town. 49 left. back in a bit!
TTFN Ata

re plus the opposite of was
tytyty Pappou and FMitch, that leaves me with just 7 to go
TY pappou - I was missing that too!
yw, it just happened to be one of the only re's that I had, LOL
maybe we can trade....
well, I have 73 to go, but the bottom right t's have me stumped
think novice or beginner, and the plural
2 are like when you t**** a ball - drop the second letter
usually spelled with the 'sometimes a vowel'

WTG FMitch!!!!!
wtg, odin
jeepers Odin, you're blazin'
yes, but I strayed, LOL
That is some going Odin!!!!
I used quadrants and moved across then added a line below...worked great
sounds like a military maneuver
a babble maneuver
I grab whatever I see first... then start working the letters with the fewest left
it is easy to stray Pap because your eyes want to move to words that pop up but I didn't miss the ed's or es's by working it left to right line by line today...it could be a fluke...
I have to change my logo. My nephew was too homesick to stay at UF so he's coming to a closer school.
6 left
Where's he going?
listless
is there a ts ? I am still missing a T from the bottom left.
no ts
TY
well, he has to wait till the next semester, but he had credits from taking AP courses. He's going to go to the local SPC for his first two years then transfer to a larger univ. Probably USF. The family had a rough 4 months. We lost my grandmother, dad and uncle so he just wanted to be close to family.
Can't blame him...it is better for him to be near.

hi Jacula
just got a HUGE pile of post only one is important, the rest has gone straight on the recycle pile, what a waste of paper i hate that ,
it's a shame there's not something constructive you can do with it... to circumvent the recyclers I mean
M3 - not totally wasted if you recycle it. Anything with an address on goes through the shredder in this house and then gets put in the rabbit & guinea pig hutches, after which is goes to green waste at the dump.
Shredded junk mail makes great animal bedding!
good morning everyone.
M£ - there was a thing on the BBC a while ago about junk mail and you can op out just like you can with cold calling.
i shred too, i get load of free papers i dont even look at they go on the compost, the shiny stuff goes in the recycle bin
another way to use things without personal info ... is to wad or shred the papers and use the pieces to pad things in shipping
pida its all gone wrong
!
Good way to start the day. Finger resting on the enter key. Sorry!!!!
For anyone in UK, check my profile for lots on information on recycling.
hi pida, and phan
morning!
hello Pida - you now how to make an entrance!
I guess you just like to make an entrance, eh, pida? LOL.
Morning phan.
I read that info the other day Jac... how'd you become so interested/involved in recycling?
hello phandmd
yeah thats a great site jac., i got rid of my old phones (5) dint get much but at least there not sitting in the draw now x
Morning Metal, lynxx, and yes Jac. Anyone not notice me today.????
how could we not see you enter pida xx morning x
metal - It's something I've always done. The make do and mend/ pass it on/re5/12 it generation where my parents' age.
*were
need a cupa brb x
Can't type this morning!
Good idea, M3! *Goes off to do same.*
I'm also a fan of the use it up/wear it out/make it do/do without......... rethink/reduce/re512/repurpose/recycle
de 6 clues pls
first de6 to render a bomb inert
second de6 stop, cease and de6
thnx
yvw
I'm back, tea in hand... 6 left to find, all s's. I'm determined to re6/18 the list at this late stage.
wtg Jac
good morning folks!
Jacula you are a woman after my own heart - my family (and work colleagues) hide their bins when I am around. I also have a wormery which is a great way to get rid of all the confidential post
My cousin Al used to raise and sell worms. Made a tidy sum at it as I recall.
Hello Everyone!
Hello Mr. P
good evening MRP
good morning everyone
hi Eva
need to help the kiddo get off for the day.
hello Eva
*kiddos*
scarydeb - I used to have a wormery but, unfortunately, it attracted rats (who loved the fruit & veg peelings and, once they'd tasted kiwi and pineapple, virtually knocked on the back door to complain if they only found boring potato and carrot peelings).
back in a few, need to feed the antique cat and snag a beverage for myself
Morning Eva & Merp.
Morning MrP and anyone else I've missed.
hi all!
Hi Fran.
hi jac!
Hi Fran
hi lynxxx!
I have fireworks!:) That was a nice grid.
yay jac!!!
Yay Jac !
wtg Jac!!
It took about 1½ hours with no list.
awesome jac!
You're just getting to ogood Jacs!! Congrats!
WTG Jac !!!! Hi Mr P and everyone else I missed.
hi pida!
Anyone need any clues whilst I drink my tea?
hi can i have clues its my first time
yeah Jac, wo 6/33 pl
emma - Welcome. If you go to Angelsong's page and read the information there, you'll be able to be more specific about which clues you would like.
pida - past tense of the wo4/8 before it (accustomed).
se6 clue please?
also cuppa for me?
thnx
CJ - se6 = one who se4/4's.
CJ - I think there's one left in the pot... mug of tea coming your way.:)
CJ - se6 sounds a bit like a Roman ruler.
si 5 please
thanks jacula
M3 - si5/12 & 6 - end part of French man/men?
thanks jacula
must g out soon and get fresh air on a day like this its silly to stay in the office

1608 points, lyn.
1608 lynxxx
and Congrats Odin
are the st's a fish?
Good morning Odin, and Congrats!!!!
WTG oDIN
no M3, but they are reminiscent of hay, and tossing things about
thans mettle x
Fireworks (and now my coffee!)
M3 - not really. The st's are an old word for what you do with hay or se4/5s. Usually spelled with an 'e' in the middle.
yayyyy Lynxxx
Well done, lynxxx!
yay lynxxx!
WTG!! lynxxx,
Woohoo lynxxx!!!
wtg lynxxx - just snook back on in time for your fireworks!
4th time listless - but who's counting! one day I'll be able to do it without the chat (not!)
Well, I'd better go and get some of that ir4/4ing done. I've got a hair appointment later - the mane's long overdue for taming!
You reckon lynxxx?!?!
I"m here but sort of not here too... still at the computer, but doing morse code practice so I may be a bit slow to respond
later jac!
Nup!
Would you like some more ir4/4ing to do? I've a mountain here!
No thanks, JFB!
Worth a try!
I'll say goodbye - just realised I've got to water the garden tonite - its really dry and with current restrictions can only water every other day.
Lol. Happy Babbling!xx
bye lynxxx!
First frost is supposed to hit tonight so time to bring in everything that canbe saved. Does anyone know if you can ripen red peppers indoors?
see ya later lynx
i have no idea eva!
I may get away with covering them.Time to google frost questions
Eva, you can ripen them indoors if they have just begun to change colour
can I help anyone with clues before I clear out for the day?
how mrp? Whole plants, roots and all, or fruit in paper bags?
19 more to go!
the fruit needs to be about 4 inches long... pick it and put it in paper bags
wtg CJ
great! There are about 12 that are that big.
EVA- You can eat most peppers when they're green, but they don't develop their full flavor until they turn color—whether it be red, orange, or yellow. Cut sweet peppers off the plant with a sharp knife or shears, leaving about a ½-inch stem attached. Cayennes and some others usually pop off with ample stems attached. Peppers will usually keep in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Freeze or dry any excess fruit. Harvest all usable fruit before the first hard frost. Or, if you have unripe fruit you don't want to waste, cut the entire plant and hang it indoors to allow the fruit to continue ripening.
so now, got any great recipes for green tomato preserves/chutneys,etc
beebee-that's wonderful advice! It's not clear how hard the frost will be tonight, but i souldn't be terrible. If I throw sheets over the stakes to cover theplants whould that be enough protection if it is in the upper 20's?
the ti words are there only two that are from the 1st T down?
I mean three
cj-there are 5 ti's
yay! fireworks for me!
Yes I know - but from the 1st T or any fro mthe 2nd T?
yay Fran!
3 from the first
eva- what will the high be the next day? if it is warm in the days, then the sheet should be fine.
yayyyyy Fran!
3 from the first one
right got them all :)
yes-it's going to cloud back up and be in the 50's-60's the next day
eva- but if it's not getting warm in the days-you'd do better just to pick them
so good to be able to find expertise about just about everything right here!
anyone want a quick clue before i go to bed?
no thanks fran....16 left and I think I want to try and get them on my own. This puzzle is going too quickly.
eva- well, good luck with your peppers, if your tomatoes are mature and just green, they'll ripen wonderfully in the house- i'm off to wake the troops bbl

morning all
tide
hi kl
Good morning, all. Can only stay a few minutes. Have to transcribe a tape. Yeech! Mr. President, shouldn't you be at the UN summit having your ass handed to you by the Iranian and Venezualan presidents?
Hi klaurel
se, Monsi***
yes, I get 10 lashes with a wet noodle
hi judi
ahhh - thanks, pida!!
yw
Bush couldn't even pronounce Ahmadinejad and Chavezhas... he just calls them 'hey' and 'you' !!
morning all
hi rae!
hey wolvie
Much as I love Bush bashing, I don't think this is the place. We have had THAT problem once before
there's just so much to say about him...
klaurel.. I so don't care
Good morning Babblers! How is the grid today? I was too tired to finish the grid last night.
LOL - it would take up the entire chat, kl
hi scrabbler - nice grid today
yes, Rae, there is so much to day and please, feel free to IM me! I love Bush bashing! :)
Morning Scrabbler, so far, one weird word, and I have 19 left to find. Not bad.
klaurel - any developments with your son?
a
But he gives such good fodder! And the thing that scares me is how many people think he's GOOD.
17 left here, and I just typed in one weird word - to me anyway
But I always freeze up when I see re, de, and an s
the re's are pretty decent, so no problems today
There are only 7 re's, all reasonable words.
I should just get over it
why do you people have to speak bad of the president? and don't even care who you offend
OH! YES! With my son, the perpetrator has been suspended from riding the bus for 5 days and it has spread through the school that it was because she picked a fight with Stefan
oh really? that's great!
klaurel: and if it goes the way it has for my son in the past, in 2 weeks he and the perp'll be best buds
good news, kl
She picked a fight?? what did SHE do?
so, I hope thta will also keep the other bullies away from him knowing that HIS mom cares enough to fight the school
help with the st's??
MrPresident - the 5th grade bully was running up and down the bus playing her trumpet, so my son told her (rather tactlessly) to shut up. And she hit him several times in the face and then punched him in the stomach
yay klaurel!!!
I took pictures of the marks on his face and teh school suspended her bus privilegdes
What a nasty piece of work!! good on you for fighting that one!!
How we you people from other countrys like it if we did that to you're leaders???????
would*
please, do your worst, jackets...we have the right to criticize our leaders - they aren't bad, but they are not undeserving of criticism
Wolvie, st 6/30 - st + ** your boat + one more letter
Umm, Jacket, that is the wonderful thing, we CAN criticize their leaders too :)

A tour bus driver is driving with a bus load of retired people when he is tapped on his shoulder by a little old lady. She offers him a handful of peanuts, which he gratefully munches. After about 15 minutes, she taps him on his shoulder again and gives him another handful of peanuts. Again he eats hungrily. She repeats this gesture about five more times. When she is about to hand him yet another batch again he asks the little old lady, "Why don't you eat the peanuts yourself?". "We can't chew them because we've no teeth", she replied. The puzzled driver asks, "So why do you buy them then?" The old lady replied, "Because we just love the chocolate around them."

Ed was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really pissed. She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE." The next morning Ed got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a small box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway and brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale. Funeral services for Ed have been scheduled for Friday......
oops, I will change it now. For those who are here it is a fig leaf, ...for chj's benefit. :)
A popular airline recently introduced a special half rate fare for wives who accompanied their husbands on business trips. Tink,
we were chatting about short and tall people - hetty
well someone mentioned giants
and oompah loompahs
hahaaha, i'm"enter"happy. anyway, glad you're ok!
but next time, remember my entertainment needs!
so where do you fit in chj? We have lots of short Babblers, (5'2'' and below) and a few tall ones (5'10")
Ah, I see. and we are all big enders or small enders anyway LOL

are you a midget t-owl?
We prefer the term little people chj...
or just vertically challenged

I also need one more "t" off of the bottom left. I have: tr5/10x2, tr4/8, and tr5/18.
Good point, Annie. But I still won't know what it means!
How do you manage to find two vowels to put after male child? I see only one.
male children, sallyds.

you need tr6/18...it's a plural

rhymed with another verb for desired
thanks hurshy and lady
Good clue Torg
nice clue, torgone
either the grids are getting easier or I am getting better at this
But hurshy's was more correct ..
the more you do, the better you get, cause you remember more of the babblets
technically, of course, wo6/33 is not a past tense or a verb at all, it is an adjective. maybe it used to be a verb...
the artist formerly known as verb
but today's grid was a fairly easy one too
afternoon all
hi Charm
Hiya Charm

why are the easy words eluding me?
Did it on my own, Pyros
Woot! Woot!
they elude me, too, phan.
yaaaaay, bubba and phan.
why is ruse not a word?
i mean rused!
Um ...it is ..
Jaime, it is a word!!!
not done, still need 2 more
good question, Jaime. as well as 'fuser'
because it is a noun, not a verb, and you can't make a noun past tense
now fuser, that makes no sense.
grammar schmammar. my favorite junior high subject bites me again.
they just didn't put 'fuser' in their word list, i guess.
clue for last re?
there are a lot of things they didn't put in the word list. like we are allowed si5 and senor but not herr. language prejudice.
re + opp of lose.
re5/18: re + opposite of lost.
(past tense)
then again, if they put in MORE words, we wouldn't have any less of the weird ones to find that we already have, they wouldn't replace them, so i guess we should just be grateful.
gmta, Charm
thnx
lol, hurshy. good point!
once again, I have all my words checked off on my list but am still missing one. Will have to come back to figure it out. Thnx for yall's help

Hi everyone.
{{{{{{{{EB}}}}}}}}}}
hey there eb, haven't seen you in awhile
whoo hoo tinks!

Mama, did you read about Mtnjock in Babb. Anon?

Hi, guys, can anyone clue me the se 6,18? I'm not seeing it...
So sorry EB - I've not been here long - and am staying up later and later to finish, I can't bear to leave it incomplete!
Eastern Blue, you're still hot with us!
thanks metal!
se + something that exists ** + you could do this ** that
tinks...that's how I am too..why I won't start tonights grid & just pester everyone with idle chit-chat ; )
*blushes* aw, gee, thanks book!!
sallyd's...are you still here???
My problem is I log on at lunchtime at work and just can't resist starting. So I then have to finish it when I get home, interspersed with TV
tinks - I used to jump on at work...but now I have to lead so many conf. calls for projects, I don't have time 8 (
I'm lucky I guess, very busy, but not all that interactive most of the time
Thanks, tinks, that did it! My eight year old called this site up on my laptop the other day, it auto-logged in and he did a three words. I maanaged to resist trying to finish it, but it really kept calling to me!
*sighs* wishes she had tinks job ; )
*fireworks*
actually, tho', I like talking (can you tell??)
whoo hoo rieman!
woo hoo riemann!!
congrats riemann - hi gang - anyone has fe 5/18
yeah, reimann
love the icon bookwyrm - did you paint it yourself? I'm a sci-fi/fantasy (esp dragon) fan myself
oops, riemann. Sorry.
andy, fe5/18 stinky like in water or something that's been dead for a while.
wd reiman It's not really that easy to see EB... :)
Oh, yes, tinks, thanks. I am a sci-fi fan, and a library skills teacher, and the icon is a bit of a larger scene I did as a bookmark for my students.
Andy: have you read Douglas Adams? "fe5/18 dingo kidneys"
andy - sorry...I'm only here to chat tonight...no clues from me, I'm afraid!!
thanks for the clues - let me mull it over - EB no prob enjoy chat :-)
book - very nice!!
how about a clue for the two os words?
Andy - another attempt - stagnant water is fe***. Little fish are ***lers
os5 willow
love the icon book. you're so talented! and i too love sci fi especially fantasy
os6 willows

Woo hoo, one more word. The wo 6,30? Hi all. Doing wel, Jacula
LOL Nut at your bio tonight. Hi Jac!
Hi EB. Nice to see you again!

Hi Jac, eva

Hi lbd. I was just having a chuckle at nut's profile, too.

wo6/30 w + dickens little d*****t
Jacs - me too!! 8 )

wo 6/30 is to really want something, just monkey the spelling

{{{{{{nut}}}}}}}}} {{{{{{chj}}}}}}}
or was it poison sumac

*feels left out 'cos she didn't get a hug from Mamabear*
hello (((mama))) - dangit chj, it should have been at it's 'destination' by now!
last fe 4/8 please
since poison oak is know to exist on only two sites on the continetn, poison sumac is the more likely....
Nut, it's your story, but Rennie's bio...kinda lol
{{{{{{{jacula}}}}}}}} sorry jac!
fe + you and me
aknitter - French fires.
{{{{{{{{{{Jacula}}}}}}}}}} *pats* there, there...

hey EB
Hi BJ.
Hi brandyjack!
who wants poison oak? got it in my yard, happy to package it and send it along
{{{brandyjack}}}}}}
Never mind, aknitter. Ialmost always miss 'niece' in grids.
Chj Great clue for the Dickens readers!
Hi, kids. All done. Just wanted to say hello. lbdawger, admiring your Ginko leaf. Used to be a ginko tree on our school grounds.
My icon is Mahonia Japonica (which is just outside my back door).
seems as though some words just hide
Hi Judi.
Fireworks! Thanks for being so helpful on my last three words, folks. I'll come back another time and return the favor--but for now, I go to have a birthday dinner.
hi Judi!!!
bye book!!!
Have a good time, bookwyrmish.
Hey Judi! I wish gingko grew up here. i think it's a lovely tree
whoo hoo book!
hi judy- bye booki
I take it the theme is leaves today. I'm only about a week behind in themes.
thanks ddb...we try to be literate here once in a very blue moon
*wonders as book mentions her dinner if my hubby will EVER call to pick me up from work for dinner*
hey Jacs, LB, Mama. had to wander out and check on my steak...
EB are you stuck at work?
With all those e's, t's and n's, I thought the Sicilian volcano would make a reappearance in the grid today.
Where is "up here" lbdawger? You must be very far north.
I'm in Montana Judi
chj All of you astound me! I can feel my brain growing every day!
lbd...yup...
Ah, big sky. No ginko.
it's almost friday, who wants a snakebite?
sure hope he knows dinner's on him!
*raises hand* I'll take one, nut!!
snakebite...it's been forever since i had one of them.
watch out everybody...bbd's brain is gonna blow
BJ - I take it you don't have your steak blue rare then?
*holds out shotglass for snakebite*. It's happy hour somewhere in the world, I always say!
pours out the snakebites
I do too...I'm thinkin' Chinese...
chj - I was just thinking that. LOL.
ooo...phone ringing!
lets ee if we can roll a 150 average this weekend nutty
*slides snakebites expertly into the hands of happy babblers*
Snakebite's over here come in pints - are you well stocked up evanonut
chj, i just wanna make average...beating it is a bonus
hate to get all that gray matter all over the chat...a ness to clean up
oh, sorry tink, *slides over a frosted mug of snakebite*
Yesterday, when I was in the grid clueing, my doorbell rang and it was a man selling fresh fish. That made me ROFLOL (which he must have thought was very odd). But, there I was on Babble and a guy comes to my door with fish...
*sscchhlluuuuuurppp!*
*aaaahhhhhhhh*
Jac, that woulda cracked me up too
how perfect jac!
Oh, Jacula - that is hilarious. So, did you smack yourself with one, just for opportunity sake?
lol Jac! He must have thought you strange
really they sel fish door to door in england
was it the avon lady
tee hee hee!!!!
No one would dare sell fish door to door here. My cats would havea feeding frenzy.
EB was that hubby on the phone?
avon calling!
as a matter of fact I do like it blue rare, but my wife is a nurse who is squeamish and can't stand the sight of me chowing down on something still mooing....
*glub, glub, glub* Ah!! Excellent drink, nut!!
lbd...yes...
chj - Yes, some home food deliverers do still exist. Not so many as there used to be.
So i do it up like prime rib. lots of salt, garlic, and about 75 minutes on a low barbie...
BJ - LOL!
blue rare...that's just barely getting the hide off the beasty
thanks eb, it's my specialty this year
he has 1 more thing to do & then he's calling back...it'll be my call of 'reprieve'....
But if you don't want to cook - you can get just about anything cooked delivered
i'm a medium rare kind of girl myself
Brandy - a squeamish nurse??? I think that's an oxymoron or something.
and did you tell him Chinese
i love seeing the milkman in old movies delivering his wares in the early morning
tinks - My kids think I'm strange. My partner thinks I'm strange. Why should I be a wo7/44 if a stranger thinks I'm strange?;-)
remind you of your dad chj?
I quite agree.
lbd - no...right about now, I'll agree to almost anything!!
Who are you agreeing with, BJ?
I had a milkman up until a year or 2 ago - wan't using it all so had to cancel - delt really guilty as there's not that manya round anymore
I wouldn't worry Jac - most people think I'm strange
EB, careful what you agree too. although if hubs is buying it's negotiable! LOL
tinks - Have to admit I sacked my milkman 10-15 years ago. Got fed up with him trying to fiddle my bill. (At the time, there were 2 milkmen in the family and so I knew all the tricks.)
Here in the states we have Girl Scouts delivering cookies (although that's getting to be rare to) and Schwann's (frozen food).
mmmmmm....chasing that snakebite with a bacardi silver
almost anyone. but what about those of us who aren't strangers?
I did have a few of those issues - but mostly when he was on holiday and someone was covering his round
i love a straight line....
*rim shot* for Brandy.
tinks - That's what I said... why be a wo7/44? You and me are obviously NOT wo8/60. <---- CLUES FOLKS
is that strangers being plural of stranger meaning more than just a little strange?
stangers find me strange sometimes...
well Judi, I'm glad somebodies on the ball here....
ok guess I need help - fe 5/18 -- can't get two previous clues (Doug Adams, stinking water) - any more suggestions please?
Oh, BJ. I know you think I'm strange. I am strange enough to like talking to strange people on the internet. *grins*
oops -
lbd - ultimately, it all comes out of the same account...but I'll be happy so long as it's not seafood....
hahaha nut...nice dig...ill get you my pretty
*looks around* I don't see anyone strange....
andy - the word for fe (stinky, rotting) is normally spelled 'foe***'. Hope that helps.
Fe5/18 - rotting, putrid, very stinky.
fe + a very small fish is a ***dler
EB - Put your specs on!
fe5/18 fe + medical abbrev. for thrice daily
andy, like the markings on a guitar minus the r + freud's little persona
wow! what a variety of clues ther!
*wipes off glasses* ah, there they are!!!
no 6/ 30 please
no6/30 ........ no + the * * * * old owl
No + a **** owl
Normally spelled with an foe...in Britain. We yanks drop as many vowels as possible. And just what would you know about "normal", Jacula???
knitter, opp of yes + very very knowledgable
no + sam**** gamgee of lotr
ahhh, i am that no word -- dumb
finally got it thank you all - and pyros here
Judi - did I mention the word 'normal'?? LOL
yayyy andy!
whoo hoo Andy!
yay andy
hey, so i seem to have lost my 'start' menu on the bottom of the screen. does anyone know how to fix that?
woo hoo andy!!!
aknitter - is that knitting bear knitted yet?
Well done, andy!*~*~*~*
nut - you may have imadvertently hid it - try to bring your mouse ot the bottom of the screen
go to the finish menu and go backwards
good lord no jac. i am in the midst of a killer irish knit that i must complete first. Can't start another till i am done. colors chosen though
andy, i went to the bottom, but nothing there to move?
aknitter - I see you're working on a bi-coloured sock now! Is that for Johnny D?
chj, you whipper snapper you
sigh, johnny
he is soooo delicious
40 lashes for that fish
Who's delish?
Johnny Depp, Judi.
johnny depp
i really liked him in finding neverland
you can have him aknitter, i'll take orlando
i just like him
Oh, pooh. Johnny Depp. Call me when he hits puberty.
nut - my daughter's with you on that one!
lol judi
its the eyes nut
orlando can bloom in my garden any day
If it's on hid nut usually hovering around the bottom of the screen will call it back up
lol mama bear
lol, mama!!
fyi - still haven't got my start menu
you can have both of them
try rebooting nut
I'd have either of them!
aw chj, you know you want orlando
nut - go to the bottom and see if you get a cross, drag it up
I'll take em both!
Or both chj!
aknitter - I agree, it's in the eyes, the cute butt, the making you laugh... I was talking about my chap, of course! (Truly, he does have all those attributes.) Mind you, so does Johnny Depp...
ill take mrs. richard gere...who grew up in my hometown by the way
why ty chj, i'd be happy with that
Nut, when you move your mouse around the lower left hand corner, do you get any indication that something is there?
tried that mama, and i'm fairly certain that chj just wants me to reboot to be rid of me
Hey, with men, we're lucky if they have three attributes: Opposable thumbs, a job and not a ridiculous amount of back hair.
none lb, it's like it just vanished
back hair --- shudder
she smart as a whip that nut
judi, my husband has one of those three
not even gonna ask nut
Do you need it at the mo nut? If not just bear with it and it'll prob be ok when you switch back on tomorrow
armhair, up near the shoulder's more gross than back hair
oh..hes bald?
nut, i'm afraid that rebooting maybe the only way to get it back up. where's andy, he's the IT dude
no chj, he has opposable thumbs
nut - I think lbd's right!
What about neck hair? And while we're at it, nose and ear hair. It's genetics run amok I tell you.
okay okay, i'll shut it down when i go to bed
Hmmnnn. My ex was extra hairy...
good, that means you'll be staying awhile nut!
hey now, ya'll are ripping on the hubby nut
must be related to the testosterone poisoning they experience
must we discuss hair in all the wrong places? ewwww
awww man, list says one more, grid says 2...
neck hair can be shaved, and eewww about the nose and ear hairs
I used to hate hirsute men (other than hair in the more usual places, head included), but when I met my chap none of that seemed to matter any more... he's lovely and I love him to bits, hair and all.
i like to tell him that his happy trail never stops, straight up his chest and down his back
why do you suppose it disappears in some places and reappears in the oddest ones? what's with that
No, nut - I'm merely speaking in grossly generalized terms.
aknitter - Are you talking about menopausal women now or about men? LOL
and mine is only thirty now, onlyl think of his hairy potential
i think it has to do with evolution! lol
lol aknitter - if only we knew
ditto Jac
well all, hubby is calling...off for dinner!! bye everyone!!!
That's why women don't have all that hair like men. We're more evolved.
bye EB enjoy dinner
bye EB
oh jac
Mine's 37 now and he didn't look that hairy at 20 (from the photos I've seen).
bye EB!!! have a nice dinner
hey metal checked out those sites. nice patterns etc
well at least my hair is in the right place...on the top of my head
hair gives such torture potential
It's great fun pulling out ingrown ones from chins!
Wax on, wax off.
Maybe I shouldn't have said that!
nut - LOL!!
glad you liked them aknitter. if I come across any others, I'll pass them along
sounds like a little s and m there Tinks
re 5/10 please (and a side of wax)
rofl judi
you don't like what they say, just grab a fistful of forest
oooh, lbd, now you're talking
hee hee
lbd - I daren't mention hairy buttocks then. ROFLOL.
knitter, recycle
Enjoy your meal EB (if you haven't gone already).x
look at it again aknitter
that be one hairless spot in mine...but everything else...arent they supposed to have two eyebrows?
lbd i think that is the 5/12 i need the 5/10
Yes 2 - get rid of that nasty middle bit!
aknitter, look again. ;)
nut - tweeze him 2!
re5/10 to visualize once more
Mmm. The heartbreak of uni-brow. Ever so last ice age.
good one lbd
got it
bang! bang! whoosh! ka-POW!!!!
I did the 5/10 aknitter
nut, get some nads and wax him! lol
whoo hoo Mamma
jac, what and let the other wome see how dead sexy he is?
Wax his nads? Ouch!
Men with one eyebrow are thought to have criminal tendencies. Mine has 2 nice eyebrows, not over hairy, and they're natural.
wtg Mamabear!
Yee hah mamabear!
lol judi!
or wax his nads....
no no no...owie! Judi, there is a depliatory called Nads.
jac, everyone knows that its the men with big glasses with yellowed lenses that have the criminal tendencies
only by effete highbrows who call themselves 'Lord'....
Judi - have you never heard of the back, cr**k and sac wax? Some very funny cartoons on the net about that one!
just look at the pa megans law website for proof
I tried Nads once. Dismal (and painful) failure.
nads doesNOT work
What exactly is NADs?
Judi - you sadist! You never did? Did you? I joke about it, but I wouldn't...
tinks - testicles.
never tried the stuff, just the name made me feel weird
Or rather testicular sac.
I meant as a depilatory...
nads is also no heat wax hair removal
Ah, can see that would be painful
hi, all-- quite the chat! :D
I DID try it. Followed the directions to the letter. After the first pull, the rest of the tub went right into the trash bin.
This chatlog's getting out of hand! Does anyone need a clue for a grid word? (She asks in desperation, before they get zapped offline.)
hey libberebbalerous
neve know what you'll walk into here
hi, nut!
I've tried a few home wax alternatives and decided it's best to leave it to the pros
Hi lib!
Hi liba
I am back to give clues
Wow, I just joined in and reviewed the recent chat. I thought, "The words 'hair' or 'hirsute' must be in the grid." But, alas, they are not. And if I didn't get waxed I would have the "unibrow", thanks to my Italian DNA.
http://www.inpeakcondition.com/ tinks you can check the stuff out here, scroll down the page to read more about it.
should I leave & re-enter? hi, tinks!:-)
tinks - Can you not leave your chap as nature intended him?
scrab,, according ot someone, you have criminal tendencies then
I think after the reviews here I don't even want to consider it lbd!
jac, never leave it as nature inteneded, uninteresting
Well, I'm off to do something constructive - like make coffee for tomorrow a.m. Tonight's motto is:
Scrabbler - sorry, that was me, re the uni-brow.
This AM's chat ventured into USA politics and then there were some real fireworks. Now it's body hair--locations and removal techniques. LOL
better than politics i dare say
Beware of uni-browed, hirsute milkmen posing as door-to-door fish mongers.
Things didn't work out - not because of the hair - and we aren't together anymore...
USA politics--always touchy
rofl Judi
Scrabbler - like I've said before and will no doubt say again, when you sign into Babble you never know what you will find.
Judi - LOL.
Yes, today has been absolutely fascinating.
i think we need a fish selling unibrowed politician in the us

Jac - that sounds excellent - cats suits me!
jg - why?
I was reading all that hairy business, it did make me chuckle
We're all ready to give clues - just ask
Well, I am here for clues if anyone needs them...
jg - if you want a clue, just ask. That's what I'm here for, apart from insomniac chatting.

Or should that be 'insomniacal' or maybe 'maniacal'?:)
People are nattering coz not many are asking for clues.

Hi Natasha.

Hi Enomis.
hi enomis
anybody has clues for the 8 letter word?
Jac--i had the snoring problem for a while and later found out I had sleep apnea. now i snore no more
the people who are most concerned are the wo****** eno
I'm lucky, my wife snores almost as bad as me since she gained weight, but insomnia has never plagued me. My problem is getting 8 hours of sleep with about 5 minutes of rest. I get more rest in the hour that she is up putting on her warpaint and feathers (did I mention she's a nurse?) than I do all night.
thanks links
yw eno
hi Jac! I've found my way to Babble for the same reason as you ....
fe5/18?
i am trying without lickety - it"s hard!
You did brandy - I don't see how that works tho
I've been tested for apnea twice. I do not have it. That would be an easy out for me. Instead I just snore like an idling locomotive.....
me too enomis65
I agree eno - got down to 18 before I resorted to Lickety -t'was tough
i'm sure the snoring is a pain, but you should be really glad you don't have the apnea. it's really bad for your heart if you don't treat it.
that was good tinks.

hi min
the iris...
Does anyone have a clue for the su 5/14 word please
most people only snore on their backs, I snore on both sides as well....... laying on my stomach is way too uncomfortable as well as suffocating.... A CPAC machine would be such a nice fix though. I have all of the symtoms of apnea except the most importatn one. My wife says I do stop breathing, tests say I don't. Although I have ditched 40 pounds over the last few years so that may have stopped the stopping part. Didn't seem to be a problem till I quit smoking and gained 60 pounds....

One of the women seemed to have something wrong with her eyes, and the other had a mouth of a color Sebastian had never seen on a person. Pancho lauged at his amazement. "Haven't you never seen a courtesan, boy?"
bonker - don't get iy sorry
Sebastian's eyes grew big and he looked around the side of the wagon at the rapidly disappearing women.
Stid - is it on BabAnon or in the new place now? Reading the story?
The old chapters are still at BabAnon, the new ones will go to babblestory.com directly from here.

Hi LeslieAnn! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
LOL thanks tinks!
yes chj!
ty, ty, ty
The roads were filthy -- the offal of the pack animals, the animals being led to slaughter and the debris of hundreds of days of traffic made passage difficult. Sebastian was glad that he was not walking.
hey leslieann - long time, no see! how's it going, busy getting those wedding plans in action?
apparantly the tunnel was too big to fit through the internet..ill try again...but you did get the espresso didnt you?
stid - I know that smell. Gagging now.
hey leslie! won't be long now girl!
ty ty ty I couldn't see it for looking.
ole, ole
Already he felt lost. They had taken so many twists and turns coming in, sometimes seeming to nearly curve back to edge of the city before plunging again into the mad, fascinating crowds.

good night bonkler! watch out for Odysseus!
i'll try bonk!
Hi whitewitch1111!How are you doing? It's storytime
no sir
hiya whitewitch! having bb withdrawl?
how difficult is it the grid today?
I know Min....I am a little bit late...
grid is not so bad - got to 20 before i needed the list
Hi helen...I miss BB
i don't miss the jerks winning!
and I had Erika and Boggie....
I meant hate
The grid isn't too bad.I did 60 before going to the list
The buildings were wide and tall. They cantilevered out, each level a little further toward the street than the one below, until the sky seemed to disappear. It was like driving through a very tall, dimly lit tunnel.
i hate boog too - it sickens me he thinks he's some kind of winner, cause he's not
lol I agree helen...
lol leslie - hey, i guess you missed my earlier question on your wedding progress, how's it giong?
although, hk and witch, i thought it was very interesting in the last episode that everyone picked on erika, like she was a big ho, when she was the one who actually liked him, and he was the big ho
he is such a shame
well off to bed now... after ER. Do you think Abby will lose the baby?
Clue for sn7/44 please? and ty
no i answered! it is coming along, but still lots and lots to do
right leslie
Suddenly, the cobbled streets gave way to a wooden wharf. Sebastian, who had never seen anything bigger than a rowboat, gasped at the size and number of ships and all the activity.
Goodbye Enomis65! I will see you tomorrow in the log
I wish I could apply for BB8
lots of white stuff - more than usual granny g
Pancho grinned, "Impressive, isn't it? I remember my first time too! It was truly --"
The sn 7/44 word is a superlative of sn 4/8 grannyg.
good night leslieann!
sn7- having more of the white stuff
Thanks. thought I'd tried all the combinations but missed that one.
not leaving!
Hello grant! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Does anyone have a clue for the de 6/21 word please
okay leslie - so you're saying it's me then?!?!?! like i'm the one not paying attention ?!?!?! lol - i went to a wedding this weekend, know the bride well, she had it outdoors at the forest preserves & it was actually one of the best i've ever been too, she had this huge notebook, lol really worked hard, but it paid off very well!
Sorry to interrupt again, but I am almost done w/grid
stop that immediately Min!!! De****!!
leslie - ITA about erika - smear campaign
yeah, i have a big binder o' stuff, but that's not to say the apt. doesn't look like a wedding magazine exploded in here. lots of diy projects (invites, programs, centerpieces etc.)
whitewitch - why can't you apply?
He cursed as a large barrel came swinging off a ship's hoist, the guide rope on the end trailing through the air. A loud splash announced the reason for the barrel.
what is ita?
no 5/10 anyone?
pluralize the no 4/4
White Witch - could you really cope with all those cameras?
Minveryork - the de 6/21 I have is to cease
LOL LeslieAnn! I know it's going to be wonderful and beautiful to look back on. Have you scheduled any "downtime" for yourself in the last week?
I Totally Agree
helen - I am not a US citizen
plural of the no4/4/ before Nat
Nat dark file is a film no** and plural
leslie - you making alot of the stuff yourself? my bride made these huge rosebud balls, it all sounded so weird but it was really very lovely
MYork-couln't be better. Thanks for asking. And you?
Doh! thanks
WW - is that in the rules?
oooh i thought i was missing something, hk. stid, not a whole lot, we're down a few folks at work so i can't take too much time off
The barrel slammed into the side of the wagon, pushing it sideways several feet and knocking the boards apart where it impacted.
tinks - after few days you forget the cameras...and I don't care about them...don't forget the germans invented the nude beach...lol
helen - yes it is in the rules....
Clue for fe5, anyone?
yes, hk, i made everything for the invites, centerpieces, and am going to do programs, placecards etc.
I would love to think I could do it - and think I could be entertaining, but just couldn't cope with 24/7 filming
witch, maybe if you told them you liked nude beaches they would waive the us rule
awww, that's too bad - no actually it's good, cause almost everyone on those shows ends up getting hated unless they are pure angels like jani, kaysar & hardy - who should have been an all-star before any of them ----- hardy=hot, hot, hot
lol helen
grant very smelly swamp water is fe***
I am finished!Thank you everybody for all your clues.
yayyyy minver!
leslie - you little control freak -who would've guessed, hahahaha!!
Sebastian was knocked to one side and fell out of the wagon. Pancho struggled to control the horse, and finally managed to calm it down several ships away.
I agree helen
YAY min!!!
Sebastian lost sight of him for a moment...
I will shut-up now for the rest of storytime!Sorry stid
YAY Minveryork!!!
And was roughly grabbed by the largest man in the party.
nah, i think the word is "thrifty," or, "cheapskate," whichever you prefer
ROFL leslie - about the beaches - hahahaha- they would print up special shirts for ww - beach-ho
"Trying to get away, were you?" he rasped, reaching for his whip.
Min, don't shut up, I like your comments!
wtg minver !!!!!!
YAY Min! *dancing for joy*
Sebastian turned pale.
yay, min!
yep - control freaks always use excuses like that - typical, typical - you know i'm just giving you some grief - i like homemade much better cause it's more personal & unique!
wo6/30?
hiya lib!!!
C'mon Stid - am waitng for the next bit!
Helen - I was thinking about getting in contact with Janey and invite her to St. Maarten....she mentioned in one of the shows that she would like to see St. Maarten....I am right here...house is big enough
"Where's Pancho?" The man walked ahead, pushing Sebastian along roughly in front. He reached the wagon and assessed the damage.
Hi libarebel! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
uf- pl people who fret
"Bah!" he spat on the ground. "Looks like we lost some of our stuff."
all right, fine, i'm a control freak too ;)
ww - that would be awesome - i bet she would be great to hang out with & she could probably really use some rest & relaxation away from prying eyes
sorry - watching ER from Winnipeg - back later
leslie - aha !!! knew it! LOL
well helen let me try....
and I like the ww-beach idea lol
Pancho came around the other side of the wagon, looking grim. "That cursed Lady Mary!" he exclaimed, "They nearly got us last year, too! Why don't they replace that faulty hoist?"
ww - yeah let us know how that goes, then you can introduce her to all her babble fans! - although, she is probably getting tons of offers from all kinds of people/places
The big man laughed, "Or the faulty crew!" He let go of Sebastian, who rubbed his bruised arm resentfully.
hi, helen!
"Here, boy! Start unloading the wagon."
I will do that...
hi, just stopped by to say hello to all my fellow babblers
fuse
sorry
hi annie!
Sebastian grabbed the first box and looked around. He couldn't see where he was to put anything.
Pancho turned him around and gave him a shove toward the closest boat.
tink- TYVM. Ufrunner- wo6 is an odd one, but take wo7 before it and substitute cross letter for its last two letters
okay - catch you all later, maybe at the flip, bye now :)
bye hk!
bye helen
wo.6.30 Charles Dicken's "Little Do****" but change the first cons.
hi, LA
It was a sad little barque, with a rusty anchor chain and a flimsy-looking plank. The rigging was not frayed -- exactly -- but even Sebastian's inexperienced eye could tell it was not as well maintained as many of the others.
good night helen!
He gingerly started up the plank, which buckled and bowed at his every step.
G'nite Helen
The men on board crowded around to watch him, and the men on the wharf and other ships nearby hooted and hollered.
Anyone else for funny fingered clue?
His cheeks and ears burned, but he made his way on deck and stood, waiting for someone to tell him what to do next. A man in a funny hat growled, "Put it in the hatch boy, are you stoopid?"
Of do Ipick up on Stid's story tomorrow
later today infact
Sebastian tried to find a "hatch." But Pancho was right behind him. "Here, kid, this way," he said adding, "give the kid a break Red, he's never been on a boat before."
not sure what you're asking, tinks?
ER over now - very powerful episode - supposed be here at fliptime but satellite dish enables time shifting so could watch earlier, phew. Stid I have a lot of catching up to do!
Does anyone need any clues ?
last re 5/18, tinks?
I'm back. computer decided it didn't want babble so took me out. 1 word to go - clue for so7/28 please???
Pancho led Sebastian into the hold and showed him where to put the boxes. Then he took him on a quick tour belowdecks and gave him names for a few other places.
Now for a lte supper as usual!
the most apologetic grannyg
so7/28 - more so than so618
so 7.28 male children and then add 2 vowels
and then make it comparative
there are 2 so 7/28's
By evening, the supplies were stowed and the crew was assembled on deck. The gulls and ospreys overhead were calling the dinner hour as Sebastian was given the choice: stay and be part of the crew or leave and try to make his way home.
re 5/18 anyone?
Yeah, I need the other one - not the male children
The choice sounded hollow. He doubted he could find his way out of the city, let alone home without help. He knew no one... He quickly signed his name in the book and stood back.
My clue below was the other
His adventure was about to begin.
I'll try an alternative if you need
re 5/18--to come in first again
if he stays on board, he will really grow up
** a quick reminder: the new chapters will go up at babblestory.com from now on. ** back later.

night annie!
Jai, I actually live in the Tampa Bay area, now. We had no problems here at all, except for a little flooding. How has it been in Ms in the last year?
Nite Annie, Hi chj
pida, i've always wanted to try tupelo honey, we have a rare honey here made from kiawe (a relative of mesquite) that comes out white, soooo tasty.
Like a nuclear blast zone....My house is STILL not repaired due to red tape and lack of contractors on the right side who aren't all booked....Lost a major bridge between Biloxi and Ocean Springs, causing all sorts of traffic jams six miles from my house....yuk, yuk, yuk!
can anyone clue the first wo7/44?
natasha, one who frets
someone who is anxious, natasha
I have that one, thanks. I think there is supposed to be one before that.
um, never mind. can't see straight. I didn't have it, but thought I did.
natasha, there is one after the plural of that one, a wo7/44, wo7/44 a lot
Best of luck with the repairs, Jai. I have a friend in Homestead, that just finally got the rest of her place repaired, and they didn't get hit anywhere near as bad as you did. Had problems with the insurance companies paying for repairs.
i blame moose and squirrel, natasha
there is the word that sounds like "want"- past tense? got that it is a 6-
LOL, leslieann. I think you're right!
okay, the chapter is up at babblestory.com
hi Jai!
hi stid!
Fran, Did you ever see the movie "Ullee's Gold"? It was about tupelo honey production. My family (and I) were beekeepers in So Fla for years.
i don't think i have pida.
For those who want to go directly to the most recent chapter every time, try babblestory.com/today.html it will automatically redirect you to the most recent installment.
hi pida!
TY< Pida. It will go when it is supposed to, I guess....my bathroom ceiling is about to collapse in- it will if we get any more rain....$%#@!!!!
you're too good to us, stid
Hi stid
pida - where are you? I'm originally from Miami... my mom still lives there, she's the only one in her neighborhood without a blue tarp for a roof...
:-)
oh no, Jai! not more in the saga of the blue tarp roof?
Jai, I hope you haven't been getting the rain we've had lately. We got 2 1/2 inches Tues night. But better rain the hurricanes.
I have a blue roof....
so is the last wo6 as painfully obvious as the last clue I asked for?
my mom and God made a deal.. if he would get her thru last hurr season she'd sell the house b4 this one.. so far she hasn't kept her end of the deal... but we cross our fingers every day
Oh, yes, the ceilings are falling in now....the kitchen went a week ago...
I'm in the Tampa Bay area, now, but I lived in Homestead for 30 years.
I'm so sorry... I lived there for Andrew and lost everything. It is soooo frustrating. Jai - I can't imagine...
no natasha, it's a weird one, same first 5 letters, but add another consonant at the end
No- it starts out as the same, but ends with a short, two letter wi=ord that means "That thing"
Jai, didn't you get one of the "FEMA" trailers, they were bragging about on the news?
ok, I have no clue what that means. out comes the dictionary. and thank you.
ty all for your caring and understanding this past year...Babble has made me laugh thru it all...
Nope, no trailer, my house was considered "livable"...
{{{Jai}}}
Jai - sometimes you just have to laugh... just to keep from crying... {{{{hugs}}}}
hug pile! *hugs*
Your house was deemed "livable" by people who would never, ever live in it themselves . . . I feel for you, jai
*jumps on hug pile*
*getting in on the hug action*
*jumps on top of hug pile*
Aw, gee <tears>....I love you guys.....
ouch... stid, i think you just elbowed me in the eye
ouch! that was my foot! lol
Are we playing Twister now??
whee, al done, now I can go off and do something else.. see you later
*pulls elbows in* sorry LeslieAnn, expected the fat roll to cushion that...
bye misu! congrats!
left hand on green!
bye misu!!
Bye and Congrats, Misu!
bye misu Congrats
(clarification... MY fat roll, my flabby upper arms... not LeslieAnn's beautiful bride-to-be figger!)
right foot on blue!
YAY Misu! bye.
Jai - I got it... what's next?
Jai, how am I to get my 5'4" foot up on your 20' blue tarp?
haha! if you elbowed me in the rear it'd be a different story ;)
jai - spin again, spin again, spin again
I/m getting of the top of the pile, so everybody can breath again. Sorry!!!
You climb the ladder, of course.....the PERMANENT ladder....LOL
ROFL... this chat is getting so silly!
getting?
Well, I am tired. Was up early to take the kid to get his braces this morning (blue and green braces... go figure) *yawn*
last so7 anyone?
more apologetic
natasha, just change the first letter of the first wo7
Best of luck to you jai. Goodnight everyone. Have to get up early so I can babble, before I go to have a stress. Like anyone has to be tested to see if they have stress, nowdays. See ya in the am
I have that one--really, I do this time
So am I...went out for dinner tonight to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary and my <gulp> 50th birthday, which is MOnday.....I am so full I think I need to lay down until the flip...
good night pida
good night pida, jai!
I guess it is the one before that...
good night all!
and congrats on the anniversary!
night pida!
good night stid
good night stid
nite pida, nite Jai !
natasha, it ends the same way, but it starts with multiple male offspring.
night stid!
see you in an hour...
Nite everyone, and congrats on the birthday, and anniversery
the other, natasha, is the so 6/18 that starts with your male children + consonant
thanks fran! only one left
later jai!
which one natasha?
I know it is an S, but I keep comparing to Lickety's list and can't find it. long day...
how many letters? from the word stats
how many letters?
and which S does it start with
and how many points do you have so far?
and what is your cat's name? and your favorite color?
rofl LA!
yes, all this will help us determine the word you are missing
it is an so, not sure yet how many letters, i have 1604 points, my cat's name was torbin (he died) and my favorite color is purple. whew!
right, and what is your bank account number, and your PIN? that will really help us clue
look under word stats, natasha
natasha, it's an so4/4
oh, I've heard about people like you LeslieAnn!
what? *bats eyelashes*
do you have the one that sounds like being apologetic?
LA, is that how you're paying for your honeymoon? lol
Thanks fran--you guys are really nice and helpful, not to mention funny
That was it! Fireworks!
fireworks??
yup, fran, i'm coming over to your house to help pay for the ride back!
yayyy natasha!
yay natasha!!!!
not going to be much help LA, but if you get stranded we have an extra room.
i'll let you babysit for room and board.
I may not be the best at this game yet, but I'm already addicted
hmmm, sounds like a plan... the new hubby can fix all your computer problems
Fran, I don't think that would make for a very good honeymoon!
natasha, it gets easier with time, as your vocabulary fills with useless babble words!
you mean by leaving me a new one? :-)
hmmm, i will have to see about that
LA, we have some of the same fave websites.
oh really? i start getting the shakes if i don't visit those at least once a day
I go to gofugyourself daily, the others I check in on less regularly. I have too many knitting sites I visit daily
those are cool sites LA, i have an RSS feed for cuteoverload, but i haven't looked at my news reader for a while.
which is why I never actually finish knitting anything!
haha, i even read their stuff for the magazine during fashion week, good but not as entertaining as the regular blog
the fug girls are quite famous in the blog world
yeah, I read it too and have to agree. They lost a lot of their edge for fashion week.
i think they won a best writing award bloggy, or webby, or whatever those awards are... they deserve it, their writing is genius
i think fugly is used by a lot of people now also
ro 6/18?
more of a pinkish hue
ahhh tried that like 5 times with an s on the end instead of the r
can I help with any other clues before I head off to bed?
no 6, either?
which no 6/18 or no6/30?
LA, more inquisitive
um, the no 6/30 nat! :)
the other one is sort of a compound word, no + sage (as in advice)
(thanks fran)
last one is fe 5/18...?
LA, rotten, smelly, putrid
nasty water
oh! got it, fireworks! thanks natasha and fran!
yay LA!!!!
congrats!
brb, diaper-changing time
I must head out now. Thanks for all your help and sorry to interrupt your conversation earlier.
welcome to the nuthouse natasha! have a great night!
you too!
franny, sorry to leave when you're gone, but i gotta get some sleep! bye!
do they post the answers after it is finished?
no, jenga, but you can check the chat in Archives, or today's chat by clicking on the little square above right
thanks
hi all -back now
hi jilli!
jenga, you can view the word lists in the archives after the flip.
nobody's asked me about my leaf - I'm sure because they all know it's an oak - but ah, what kind of an oak!
a black oak?
oh, white oak, just looked at your profile jilli.
A Garry Oak, Fran - almost sacred around here! It has an endangered ecosystem full of beautiful wild flowers, like the blue camas lily and so on. HUmans are blamed for its endangerment, but around my house it's the deer who are devastating the wild flowers and eating the acorns.
and thanks, fran, about the tip re the word lists in the archives! Hadn't noticed *slapping own wrist*
Good Evening, Everyone -- all finished?
Hi. No, not done yet. Any clues for some of the 7 words please? I have so7/28, wo744 and another wo7/44.
sn 7: more of the white stuff falling (brrrrr)
ty, cybernan. Any more please?
so 7/28: more so 6/18
biltong, another so7/28, starts with multiple male offspring and ends like the other so7
so 7/29: more regretful
wo7/44 x2: one who stews over something, and the things one stews over
ty, Fran and cybernan got all the 7's.
cool biltong, what else do you need?
i'm finished too - just left here for a minute to get the dishes done but can now stick around and clue
I have 42 left. Don't think I'll make it today. I'll give it a bash anyway. Could you help with the top right hand e, one word only?
biltong, it's an ei4/5
the ducky one, minus last letter
I don't believe it! Thanks
ei + french of
At this stage, one always tends to overlook the obvious ones.
i totally missed that one until i went to the list biltong
have you got the st 5-6-6?
or blue su*** shoes?
No, but have them now! Thank you so much.
goooo biltong!
are you wprking alphabetically, biltong?
I don't, Nan, hint? st 5 6 6 ?
No, not this time. I normally do. Sort of clutching at straws, I guess.
st+ all in a *** (line), for the 6's add a different consonant to the end
all the st words are related - st + *** your boat and build on that
Thank you, nan!
