cr7
Quiddler is similar to gin rummy, but instead of runs and sets, you form words.
boas

thanks jilli and ornith!
gr 7/40
thanks beast
Hi ya mrp!
did anyone mention so7/36 yet
ick, lots of big phantoms tonight... sorcerer
& coroner
all the 7 announcements result in my finding 4s :(
lol jilli
yay tribute to steve irwin in here
yea indeed beast
saw that, beast
...and yet again I find myself wanting an H over on that left side!
finally found that cr 7 mentioned earlier
phantom: corbies
ne/8
hi susan!
where's douglas when the borg are actually in the grid?
hi, Jili!
I wanted borg too
love that co7 very childish
heh, finally found that bo7
cooer
beast, you must have a different co7, mine isn't childish at all...
ack!
thx jilli
no co 7 here lol
yup, there it is. there's a co7/32 and a co7/36
maybe it's just ausie slang and doesnt really mean what im thinking of
the bo7 is childish too
ooh i will go searching
thanks
good one, Ornith. We know it here too..
taz, the co6 one of those is built on - "circle circle dot dot, now you have a co**** shot"
ty orn ty
(just wanted an excuse to recite that, lol)
lolol
sigh.... yet another long phantom - reredos. why is it I can only find spiffy obscure words when they aren't there?
Howdy-doo, folks!
hiya shminky
hiya
and howdy to you too, shminky
phantom - gannet
awww no goobies :(
Morning dear gang :)
hey, sprite
hi sprite
hi sprite
this is a fun grid
hello sprite
hi sprite
extremely late flip
gadi
hola sprite!
Resistance is futile in this grid...
ilandrah, you're close to a couple good silly words with that
hi une - cute icon again!
hi sprite
greetings helen
Hiya Sprite
thnx ornith, will look
missed seeing you, ilandra - hi!
Great crowd this morning! *hugs Hugs and jilli and whoever wants a hug too* :)
hey all ! what is the icon theme today? anyone know?
sprite, are you up on your Lovecraft? A certain fishy elder god is in there too
hey hk, how's the eggplant parmigiana going?
tx, jill
helen, card backs
playing card backs, helen
hk, playing cards
heya helen!
Hehehe, Ornith, hope I am. And if not, I rely on you guys to bail me out :)
hiya chic, fran, nan, orn, etc. & thanks!
hey, helen
well, he's not a real word, he's an extra letter on one. although there's a nice lovecraftian adjective in there
ooooh chic - yours is creepy - i have a creepy one picked out too - but first i wanna throw out some words
hiya une!
phantom - erotica (so... many.... 7 letter... phantoms.... arg!)
I just hate it when erotica is a phantom.
lol sprite
phan - concern
ornith did you try without the a
durrr, thanks Beast!
phantom goannas
1st grey box!
yay helen, congrats
Darn. When I have to curse my kids back to bed at night, I rebed them. I do.
really wish i could go pro and get stats back but have no credit card, alas!
helen, that upper left A?
ne8/50 all those hours watching CSI are finally paying off!
sprite - i rebed myself almost every morning!
Beast, do you have a bank account? you can go through paypal
you betcha orn!
LOL
sc7/32
See? Perfectly normal word! :)
ty une
cool i am so excited now, is it easy to do?
thanks une!
beast, just set yourself up in paypal for bank transfer
beast, yeah, it may take a few days to confirm the account before you can use it, I forget - but they give you a little money in the process!
Helen... and if we sleep with our love, we cobed, right?
cool will get it set up
enable has obviously never played many online games. necro is a perfectly cromulent word...
be back in a bit
absolutely sprite!
Almost every selfrespecting game has a necro. But you can make a valid word of it.
yeah, I have that
yay, found it!
Thanks Sprite...that gave me a co7/36 and co8/50
I need some paypal advice - theother way round. I have books to sell and would like to accept paypal but don't know how.
jilli, it doesn't tell you how on the paypal site?
Okay - the baby is FINALLY asleep. So, off to beddy-bye with me, too. Nitey-nite!
at 145 I'm comatose--off to bed--TTFN--happy babbling!
night shminky!
night une and shminky
lol Hugs... now let's see if I can find them :)
Night Une!
And Schminky too
google paypal and read the users remarks, jilli
I'll have to check the site again - didn't understand that before
jilli, our DJ business is set up with a business paypal, but i think you can have a personal account accept money also.
night une!
Got them, I think, Hugs! Build on 6, right?
There were so many negative reports on paypal, that I refuse to use it. World Pay is a much better option -- affiliated with the Bank of Scotland
That's right Sprite
Fran, I don't know if mine is business or personal - the books are self-published ones on the development of Great Danes, which I wrote.
Have been using paypal for years now and never ever had a problem.
ditto for me too, sprite
ditto three
i've never had problems either
Does World Pay have a website too? Dumb question, I bet
probably
ooh, I got a gray one besides the upperleft A!
www.worldpay.com
most of the problems with paypal seem to be occuring at the vendor's end.
Bottom R, Ornith?
101 - going for the icon - of course it's huge when i have a ton of stuff to do tomorrow plus dinner theatre at night, sigh! brb
lol orn- you rock!
nope sprite, a real one... right side S
and I would be the vendor, nan
so all these sevens people have ... are they normal words? 'cause i've only got three and i feel very dim.
WTG Ornith!
elphaba, not only are they normal, most of them are SILLY. I've only got 4 myself
i've got 4, elphaba, and they're all normal
i've got at least one silly one
thanks for the URL, une. I'll be checking all this out. Too bad this grid is so big - bridge all afternoon tomorrow, sigh
anyone have the 9s yet
and 'idiotic' is a phantom.
but no ob words or re words. alas.
I only have 3 7s, 1 8, no 9s
I still don't have those two sevens either, elphaba
1 8 here too
i guess this feeling of inadequacy is due to writing down all the ones people said they had ... it makes a bigger list than any one person. :)
at my age, resag is a word
ob7 indecent
Ob9
I've 8-7's and 3-8's... but still no 9's
ty sprite
I've got two 8s... there's one on the non-silly co7, and one ne8 you'd hear on a crime/medicine show
That is Ob9/78, definitely NOT indecent. Very good.
hello all, how is the grid?
thanks une, you can make it more indecent
ob8 is MORE indecent! :-)
the crime show one is also rather buffyish (for those non crime show fans)
just got the ob7-8. thanks. no idea on the ob9 yet
thanks une
you are ahead of me hugs -- only 7-7's and 1-8 here
ty une
I think most of us have problems with Ob9.
ty une
aha! thanks sprite. ob9 school is where you send your dog
indeed, sprite! and both of my dogs too!
Thanks Sprite, got that 9 now
thanks for the 9!
ha, nice! thanks!
Not a single clue on the other 9 yet though.
thanks sprite
sc 7/40

ooh, the humbug one is good.
Silly, but great!
re7/36 to go back, to lose ground
ab7
thanks sprite!
Got the other 9, it's Di9/66, plural of 8/50, clergy related.
hmm. didn't get that yet une, but just found re6/21, another schoolchildren's word
ty sprite! that's all the 8's and 9's here
Interesting Ec7/40: murder on the environment.
ab----- makes the heart grow fonder
thanks sprite!
ty sprite and une.... still not getting re7/36 though
thanks une!
thanx sprite for thelast 8 & 9...
does the clergy related one have a an o or e near the start
O, pink.
yw :)
ty
taz--the clergy one is the adj. of what a group of churches in one district is called
and with that I bid you all adieu!
night chic!
bye chic
I have re7 x 2. 7/32 is go to the other side again. 7/36 is go back.
good nite chic!
Night chic!
ty mir just having trouble seeing it still looking though
finally got the di8 and 9, thanks sprite and mirandapan!
rebag
hmmm-maybe I should try that in the right box?
Yeah miranda. We want you to only enter valid words in this one :)
thanks sprite, that gave me one, even if I'm still struggling with the 7/36. I bet it's a total fish..
en 7/32
thanks for the di9
already did miranda! it looks like a perfectly good word, but isn't!
Well--I rebag things a lot!!!
makes sense to me!
hi i'm back again
hi beast!
hi beast - we've all been cluing the long words, might want to scroll back
wb
It is, Ornith. Think going back in time in hypnotic trance.
ok thanks
ahah! thank you sprite. I was looking in for rec????.
hi beast and ty sprite
Hehehe, that's the other one. It was just there to put you on the wrong foot ;)
thanks sprite!
Yeah! Found a compound all by myself! No7/44.
everyone be careful...the grid has co****s
thanks sprite! who would think that was a word!!
I will kick the grid right in the Sc6/21 if it doesn't behave.
hehe chj, and bo***** in its no**!
thanks chj!
what fun words, thanks ornith!
darn, i can't get that no ... for a second i really thought it was going to be nosebit
I just tried no**bed elphaba!
elphaba, very close. Think horses and feeding them.
oh! i know that word!
oh, thanks sprite!
though my first guess was rather horsey too
how about that en7?
ooh, and just passed halfway :)
Ornith: you want it again?
ugh, i just want to gray out another box. i'd even take the lower left R, which is making no sense to me
oh, darn, thought I found it for you, but it put it on a different R.
thanks for trying :)
elpha do u have the other single r
sprite, did I miss an en7 clue, or is that the clue?
damn, i thought i had it there ...
ha... got the no word...la la
taz, nope.
got a 9
elpha, that's the re7/36 one.... go back... as in age, sorta
me either
en 7 - repetez en* plural...hi guys
That was the clue, Ornith! I'll play it for you again... on stage. Plural.
oh, durr. fish. thanks ramix
elphaba: more like the underground world of a tree, is the lower left R.
the lower left R is ro7/28...
hi ramix
huga - thanks, i wouldn't have thought that was a word
thanks sprite!
how many words today please
sprite and hug, thanks, I didn't think that was a word either
278 feel s like 5000
ta
I still need 3 more 7s. Passed the 200 mark though.
don't forget the female version of the monsters in this grid
edmo, 278 with 22 7's, 5 8's, and 2 9's. most of which have gotten clued by now
wow sprite, I'm only at 148, still need 8 7's, and started before you.
im still working on the clergy one lol
hug what monster woe is me
I'll wait for you, Ornith. Right here at the brick wall :)
taz, og4
the og4/6
hpw do you feminize that?
and there are or4 here too
pluralize the plural... *wink*
taz, think of a woman that sews
but no female or's
taz: with the last part of Re7 going back in time.
welll tyvm indeed
there's an eg6 "exit" along those lines too
ty orn
co8 those that force others to do things against their will. also co7 singular, and co6 the act
that's funny, negro is not in the grid?
ty hug also
i know it's pointless to question it
Thanks ornith... that greyed out that box for me and gave me 190... time for bed and I'll finish tomorrow
Fran: almost. Like one is.
you mean the dictionary... and yeah, that's weird Fran!
the re i have is a 6 is the 7 related to that or dif
thanks ramix!
thanks sprite!
that makes it even wierder, sprite!
fran it has been before.... who knows ...
I agree.
fran did you find ne 7 40?
agas
how is soba not in there? they have all other sorts of Japanese foods
fish slap applied...
thanks blaze!
Soba? Don't know that, what is it?
it is a japanese noodle...I thought it would be there too!
it's a kind of noodle. usually buckwheat noodles.
soba is a type of bean noodle
hmm, and the duragatory N word is accepted
Sounds good.
i tried it too pinecone!
fran did you see my question
hmm, so is da4/7, fran!
Negro isn't accepted because it's a cap.
I guess it was a cap originally, but it hasn't been for a long time now...
yes taz, i did
do u have it then?
still having trouble with the re go back in time. I have a 6 but can't find a 7
When it comes to enable I can only think: "so6/24."
beast, it's not rec????, if that helps.
yes taz! sorry, my kids pulled out my modem plug, missed your question, but i have the ne7 now, thanks!
thats ok i got it thanks anyway
np fran\
huh sprite, usually the insults are easy...
getting too sleepy and words are hiding. No way will I finish this tomorrow
Ornith: no insult, just desperate acceptation of the inevitable.

Ornith: mine is 3 words in one.
I still have 208 to find!
thanks ornith!
yup
bye blaze!
167 here and feel stuck
jilli i have about the same as you
Good morning all....what is the size of this grid? BIG?
278, kkiln.
taz, an adjective form like you'd use for someone from a place
278
taz, I'm only at 155!
sorry but i am whining i need the clergy
that's a word, sprite?!
well if i can help anyone yell
enable and its crazy compound words...
Thanks
Taz, it ends in the without S4/4.
it is valid, Ornith :)
ty
well, the clergy baffles me too - did someone say it started with an o?
di jilli
jill, it's di8 and 9
jilli: starts with Di.
di
oh jillibus, the children thought i was mad singing about mud!!
oh well, in that case I think I have it
yup - that's what I wanted it to be! Thanks
i keep thinking diocese but it's not that
taz, start like the name that is given to a "political" division of the catholic church (a bishop is in charge of a di****e) but you add a indefinite article or last two letters of tin c**
Hit an absolute brick wall at 26 and so it is time for breakfast. Back in a bit.
later sprite!
Beast, that is almost it...
later sprite
taz di + round letter + **sar salad + courte****
beast, drop the last letter and add tin c**
thanks fran got it at last
yw beast!
didn't help that i was looking for a 7 not 8 &9
oh yeah, make it plural for the di9
bye sprite - have a good breakfast - and I'm off to bed. A demain, cherie!

cr8/50 broll
broll, it's cr8/50. a silly word... apparently an alligator mineral
taz are you looking for teh di8
thx
beast im still on clergy the fi after the e i lose it
taz, take that word that beast wrote in the chat, drop the last letter and add tin c**
ok, taz, you have a di7 which isn't actually in the puzzle, right?
then make it plural for the di9
so confused i really thank you guys for your help and patience
I get the alligator, but i can't find the mineral ending. Help?
after the e add what you find at the beach minus the d
mkl, the ending is in the upper left corner, lots of minerals end in it
hi mkl...the ending is the opposite of wrong
beats tytyt that did it
Back :) With breakfast, of course.
like di4 4/5 mkl
yay taz
anytime taz pink
wb sprite
wb sprite
gah, at 162 and slowed to an absolute crawl. is lickety's list up yet?
dont think so
i don't think so
am still looking for that mineral one
nope
Hi pinecone. I'm just staring at it. It won't appear.
latin therefore e4
i am assuming it uses the cr4 steve irwin thing at the start
yes, but then you need a hoop after the animal
mkl, beast, there are two of the round letters in the word, and yes, the cr4
yay i found it
yes and a round letter after that tthen the opp of wrong
That's right, beast, plus the next letter of the actual word.
first 5 letters are the alligator, the last three are from the mineral
animal + hoop + mineral ending
silly work go6
That's spelling it out...
am watching footy while i play and it is very very close at the moment
silly word i mean...sorry
Thanks pinecone, from all of us slightly slow thinkers
ramix got a lcue for that silly word
I'm slow too...I'm now searching for the silly g word
pinecone, think peanuts
kind of like the silly nose word in reverse
taz: peanut, or anagram another silly word
ty fran
ah. I see. thanks
yw mva!
ty all
snag
I am wondering about Ba6/30. Is that a compound meaning your bottom went south?
bugger!
i odnt have it sprite
Hey sprite. That's hilarious
omg lol
Or is it the remains of sugar cane in alt. spelling?
lol sprite. perhaps you should use the bi5/16 to clean it?
LOL Ornith!
did anyoen ever find that first r the alone one on far lower left?
Hello All
Sapphie1 doesn't happen to be here right now does she?
hi miss
miss abs hi, was going to ring you
taz: comparative, more like the bottom part of trees.
Hi Miss ABS!
hi miss abs
Hello Beast! and Sprite!
there's a go4/8 and plural 6/30 that has to with lighting and sound equipment
hi miss abs
ty sprite
She is online, Miss ABS, but that is not saying much, could be afk.
thanks sprite..didn't have it either
how are you going? busy?
hi miss ABS!
Have you met her Sprite, she's another die hard Tolkien fan as well
Beast, I've been swamped at a couple other schools, in fact I've got a contract for all next week.
hehe...ba4...what the goats said
Are you joining me and the other Drama Queen tomorrow? Beast?
I think we exchanged Tolkien clues one day, yes :)
would love to but have no car tomorrow am loaning it to my parents
thanks ramix, forgot that was a word
Drama Queen is in the play i'm working on
Cool Sprite, glad you've run into each other.
yw fran
are you interested in doing lights or sound for it
that's a silly word, fran!
Yeah Beast, I talked to DQ right after she'd auditioned. Was really cool to hear she got the part. Awe, would love to but I don't think I'll be able to spend that much time.
be back in a bit, i know ornith, i knew it from my husband's DJ catalogs
no worries, say hi to her for me
Will do, you don't think you could public transport your way there?
orni what was a silly word
a go8
got a clue?
where are you meeting and when? maybe email me the details if you prefer. Will have my daughter too
count the points, taz.
go4/8, excuse me
ty much orn
Can someone clue me on the other 9 letter word? I have the one having to do with church.
K will email it. You might want ot ring DQ to see who is joining us, in case of smoking?
I don't mean "great green go**", btw, taz, it's sillier than that - doesn't look real.
mkl: if you are very good, we will help :)
runs away in disugust
I don't know how you are around cigarette smoke... tis a pub of course.
It is Ob9/78. Just do as I say.
DQ wont go anywhere where there is smoke
ah excellent, will email you right now then
got to go now, happy babbling!
ok
bye MVA!
bye mva
Hi and bye MVA
Bye MVA, have a good night
Hey sprite. I got the clue, just trying to figure out how to spell it
lol mkl, yes, that is one of the problems I have with that word...
Email off Beast.
Does it help if I say there is no A in the word? And it ends the same as a bunch of people who listen to you perform.
Got it. Sprite you're a wonder
go it and sent reply thanks
;)
Thanks sprite
noes
well i better go and get ready to go out for dinner
have fun everyone
Bye Beast!

Take care Beasty and see you tomorrow!
sprite, can i please have a clue for that ba6? it's driving me mad
100 left and only 5 tiles gray - it's like pulling teeth tonight!
gnite for now ty orn for you help
yw and gnite taz
Finally. Hit the halfway mark.
ramix, it is a compound (well, maybe not, but okay). First part you can carry things in. Last part is your bottom.
ramix, it's two three letter words stuck together, and the second one is rude
wtg mkl!
Must be firm with myself - lots to do today.[ Mutters to self 'I must not sneak back to Babble - I must not sneak back to Babble'.....] bbl
lol JBF... good luck!
Is it rude, Ornith! Okay ramix, then not your bottom, but someone else's :)
ah,...sprite and ornith. what a strange one
or alternatively a donkey carrier :)
I think it is alt. spelling of leftovers of sugar cane. Usually takes an -e at the end.
LOLOL ramix! Brilliant :D
I dunno ramix, I would have put them together the other way round for that
Just checked lickety. Not up yet?
Ornith: that would be the thing you put the things in. This way it is the donkey who carries :)
He's probably still at soccer mkl Morning all
wasn't last I checked, mkl. I looked when I hit halfway too :P - that's my standard for going there now that I have stats
exactly...and this donkey, he carries the latest kate spade
hey, I just found the next new thing for apple to make: the ibed!
Me too. I used to get half the words and consider it a win. I realized I had stats, and now I don't quit till I'm finished. Man, how addicting
Does BJ's list have 2nd letters? I am down to 8 and have nowhere to go.
hehehe ornith...i thought the very same thing!
yes, sprite
Lol Ornith. THey already made the a4, though.
BJ's wasn't up either when I looked a little while ago and yes it does sprite
Argh... now I need a list and now there isn't one? This is cruel, lol.
I need 2 more 6-words. How does one monkey 6-words...
you're farther than anyone else and you didn't even start at the flip, sprite! you don't get to complain!
morning all.. i heard that one of the 9's has something to do with church?..is that right??..
But I love to complain! Nag, nag, nag...
hi rolin, yes, that's right. Clergy related.
rolin, yes, it's di8 and 9
di???..ooooh i was looking for co...makes it difficult really..lol
sprite, do you have gr5/18...it's kinda a hard word to clue..think poetry
hiiii all :)
Lol rolin, you sound like the man who is looking for his keys next to a streetlight. And when they ask him if he is sure he lost them there, he says: "No I lost them there in the bushes, but it is too dark to look for them there!"
Morning rolin, your Rodin clue word is back in the grid today
ramix, it's a water bird
yeah...sad huh...?..lol
Oh yes, I do ramix, thanks. Hey Ata! *hug*
heh ornith...you would know...with your name and all...
Morning Ata
Ata, did you finish the cat and did your friend love it?
it got finished: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40 111758/ but she hasn't got it yet :) I need to send to her on Monday!
hehe, actually, I don't know all that much about birds, it's short for ornithopter. I just happen to know that one for some wierd reason.
Ata, it's really incredible. It looks at me! Great!
Actually, with that attitude, it probably looks _through_ me :)
ah so ornith! mechanical bird eh?
yep ramix
it was *hard* work, but worth it!
I love it. She will too, I just know it.
that's really nice, Ata!
hmmph...and why isnt gooies a word...i have the gooies...you know, when every orifice is leaking....
I think she will do:)
Okay, checked BJ's and he posts with yesterday's stats that due to a change in his schedule the clues will be up 6 hours after flip.
ramix: try another last letter...
i have that one sprite...but i still believe gooies shd be a word
Ata, you wil love Cr8/50, I think. It's my favorite today.
I like the ad5/16 so far
Both of them and one plural, lol. Cr8: tough-skinned mineral?
hmm...what does do 5/16 mean? sounds like a horse's name
clues for the ad5(s)?
It is a marble, ramix. Don't forget the plural.
Ornith: building of brick and clay.
oh, geez. I missed some obvious ones tonight, didn't I?
ornith, spanish spice, and clay building...thanks sprite
You're bound too, Ornith. There are so many today ;) I am certain I am missing some very obvious ones too. Checking for plurals etc. gave me 2, down to 6 now.
*bound to*
I still need 88 :/
and 6 of them are 7's, which means there's no way the monkeys will find them
dont worry ornith, I still need 230!
atalante, I started at the flip!
oh, wait, that's not actually so bad, now that I think about it... one a minute on average, although most of them were in the first hour
thats definitly not bad!
I want Crebain
and sorceror
it's sorcerer, and yeah, popular phantom tonight
I know *sigh* still want it LOL
if it were sorceror it'd actually be in there :(
7s: Ab40, Bo55, Ce36, Co36, Co32,Cr32, Ec40, En32, Es36, Gr40, Ne40, No44, Ob40, Re32, Re36, Re28, Ro28, Sc32, Sc40, Se32, So36, To28
there's a lot of long phantoms today
thanks sprite! now to figure out which one I'm missing
Well, that Bo55 should be Bo44.
thanks sprite
And the Re7/28 is NOT a regular Re-word as in -again-.
rebed should be allowed. I rebed often during the day!
LOL, I am right with you, Ata. Lots of us are.
ok, figured out which ones I need....
and i debed in the morning from my ibed
And since we are all with you there, Ata, we cobed.
LOL yes!
ce7/36?
and what do you do at the store when your grocery bag bursts? you rebag it of course...!!
Absolutely, ramix.
Ornith: C + the sexy E6.
hmm. if you're in the army, do you recot instead?
mornin folks..
hi philod
ty. cr32?
/32
hi philod
and I meant to say, cr7/32
Cr32 he who walks to the other side of the street.
I am having some lag or something
fish please! es7/36?
es36: maintained, paid the bill
ooh you might like this, sprite, yesterday's playing: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40 194913/ You have to read the text underneath the pic to understand though!
hehehe, brilliant!
hmm that's a toughie sprite
don't think I know that word sprite
Do you have As5/12? The race one? Change first letter, then make past tense.
Well, I'm down to 117 left. Since lickety isn't online yet, I think I'll go do something equally fun. Like putting bamboo slivers under my fingernails. Nite all
don't have any as's
ah...danke sprite
oh mkl, can I help, please? ;)
heh, nite mkl
Sleep well, mkl.
ornith...think horse racing
but I'll get back to your pic this weekend :)
thanks ramix
ok... re7/28?
Great Ata :) We are close, it is so exciting :)
i see lickety isnt updated.. thought it was a bit of a coincidence that there was 208 words today too..
its such a *lovely* design now!
afraid not, philod. and we've needed it, too!
Ornith: chymosin. Ends in protruding thing in face with other vowel.
I am looking at it all the time, Ata, I think I am in love, lol.
very apt phantom.. sergio garcia..
lol philod!
had to look up the clue word, but thanks, sprite
se 7/32?
you believe in coincidences, don't you? while I was drawing the last draft, one of my good friends was drawing this - http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/39 667774/ - completely separately!
That is almost scary, Ata, LOL! Synchronicity, again :)
yes!
Se6: to discriminate or distinguish in thought Se7: 3rd person singular.
We've got a lot of that during the creation of the tattoo, Ata. Nice :)
I didn't know that was a word
oh, i still dont get it
ata, do you have a link to the thing you're drawing for sprite? I want to see it now
ramix: Se7 usually starts Dis.
Once it is finished, you can have a peek, Ornith :)
If that's okay with you, that is, Ata.
exactly, Ornith :)
patience, young padawan etc etc etc ;)
i must still be asleep.. cause these clues are going straight over my head..
LOL!
aargh....total blank....all i can think of is segregate
it isn't that cross tattoo in the gallery, is it? that's gorgeous.
ramix: it rhymes with what we do with the money our jobs give us, before we spend it ;) Ornith: mine is even more gorgeous!
nope - that was a design I did for my best friend. She actually had it coloured in yesterday afternoon! I'm waiting for her to come onto IM so I can see photos!
Wow, that's also exciting, Ata! Last phase of the tattoo?
yup! will show photos tomorrow!
oh, how cool. I have a design in mind for a tattoo myself that I CANNOT draw... I can draw, but only very specific things. then again, I'm sure I can't afford to have it done just now anyway
Love to see the result!
can someone tell me how many words today please?
mama!! gaaah!!! can you do a 'for dummies' clue please sprite
philod, 278
278
I once drew a cat for my kids. My son looked at it and said, very gently: "That is a nice elephant, mom. Really."
good nite everyone - leaving meself a whopping 111 for manana
LOL I think I'm starting to specialise in that. "Have a tattoo design you can't draw? I'll do it for you!"
ata, I like your design for phedre's marque better than the book one!
thats a lot of words!!
bye-bye :)
only about 250 left :)
*mutters* so do I Ornith. So do most people, really ...
lol sprite
See Ata? I agree with Ornith about Phedre's marque too. You could do more tattoos ;)
the one on the book cover is just Not Right
If you have time, I'd love to discuss your doing mine, Ata!
the book cover one was never properly designed. the artist guy just created it without any consultation with Jacqueline Carey etc
and so ... yeah, its not right
the sad thing is that people have gone and gotten the book one for real
ramix: start with 'to tear apart', first 3 letters. Then repeat that 3rd letter. Then add first word of famous soup ".. the world turns" Then add vowel.
we can certainly discuss! my email / IM addys are in my profile! and yes, I think that's just *weird* really. A not very right Phedre tattoo ...
The one on the book is plain plain. Just not anywhere near the one Carey must have pictured.
Another big grid, so I guess I will not be playing again today
I'm really pestering Jacqueline Carey. Not nastily, just showing her work Kushiel work, cos I know she loves it. Hoepfully one day, she might sack her illustrator and hire me :P
Errrr... famous SOAP. Not soup. Sorry.
She will, Ata. She'd be nuts not to. I am positive she feels you resonate to what she has written.
oh, you have msn Ims. darn. don't have that one. will email you then... unless you have AIM as well?
and yes, please please pester her! that's been driving me nuts, and I really like her books.
have AIM! its a bit dodgy - ie works half the time LOL my name there is elegaer
Am having trouble waiting for the latest one to come out in paperback, going to be most of a year
but hardcovers are so expensive, and space is at a premium for me also.
my friend who has the cross tattoo has met her and talked to her a lot about Phedre designs ... she has a poster we made up of friend's tattoo Phedre style and I know her publisher likes it ... so am (probably futilely crossing fingers)
ok, one more clue, and I'll break 200 and stop with this for the night: to7/28
I would have waited for the paperback too, but friend got me a signed copy at the booksigning :)
*lights a candle, sends up a couple of prayers and crosses fingers too*
oh cool!
Ornith, think bull fighters
no wonder...sprite, you're giving me a clue for the re...i was asking for the se
wow Ata!
woot! is nice to find another person who loves the books on babble!
alright! less than 100 left now and no more 7+'s
have you read her non-Kushiel pair of books Ata?
noooo, I'd really like to though
Okay, ramix, Se7. First 3 letters 'dry' as in wine. Then "to deserve, to get (money)", drop one vowel. For the 7 make into 3rd person singular. Or try: to whom it may con.... and put another start on it.
they're really cool (and in paperback) - it's like Tolkein told from the point of view of Sauron's servants. And with more moral ambiguity
I want to read those too!
really? WOW! I want to read them more now!
But not this weekend, Ata, you've got work to do (evil grin)
if you lived near me I'd lend them, but... heh
*fingers hovering over my amazon link now*
finally!!! gawd i need a beer after all that effort! thanks sprite!!!
np, that will take 2 days at least to get them to you, LOL
Morning all! I have four of the 8's - CO 8:50, CR8:50, DI 8:50 and NE 8:50. Could anyone tell me where the other one is please?
yw, ramix, glad you got it :)
lol true :) *clicks amazon link*
Ob55, Sue.
hi sue! it's ob8/55, more ob7/40
Thanks Sprite. I shall look.
I have a 9 from OB - is it related please?
nope sue
Got it! Thank you very much all.
Almost opposite, lol.
sprite, given the books we were just discussing, how can you say that?
I want to nag. I am down to 4. I want a list! Ornith... actually I think Ob9 is Ob8 than Di4, but hey, who am I :)
duh...just got the gr7 word!
I may not have the di4 you're talking about, sprite
wow! go sprite go!
It is the slimming one, Ornith. Very Ob7.
lol sprite
why do I keep looking for obscure when there is no U?
I keep looking for generous on the same basis Atta!
Because you are a good girl, to whom all things Ob7 are obscure?
sprite, do u have the eg6/24
Missing R was R4, my husband's name in plural. Yeah, no wonder, there is only one like him!
Re7/36 minus first letter, ramix. I still need 3 x an S-word :(
they certainly all seem obscure!
Good morning all. Just getting started so I have a lot of catching up to do!
morning Haz!
Hi Haz!
(Waving to all)
Where are you getting your stats from? I've checked both lickety and babanon and today's aren't up yet!
hi Haz
Or it's because you have an artist's mind, Ata, that sees what isn't there and makes it into something beautiful :)
Sorry, I'm very rude. Should have said hi to all!
No stats yet, hydra, except for the babble ones. Some listings in the log though from people who have the biggies.
hello hydra
sprite is down to 4, hydra, so he knows what he's missing. the rest of us... not so much :P
Oh, I see! I thought I was missing out. Morning, Ornith! Or is it afternoon there?:
I think we're making them up as we go along, Hydra!
sprite is a genius!!!
Morning all :)
oh yes, that sounds better Sprite!
Hands up who else tried "genius"?
I like the babble t-shirts. Don't which colour to go for,
it's, um, stupid early/late o'clock here, hydra
7s: Ab40, Bo55, Ce36, Co36, Co32,Cr32, Ec40, En32, Es36, Gr40, Ne40, No44, Ob40, Re32, Re36, Re28, Ro28, Sc32, Sc40, Se32, So36, To28
copied from the log :)
sprite can i pls have a clue for so7?
*raises hand* And that while all I need are Ss.
ramix: even less drunk.
No idea there were so many. I only have the gr one!
thanks sprote
LOL
ah so i only need ne7 and no7...hmm
errr...sorry i meant sprite
ramix: ne: dead tissue like. No: compound, to feed a horse.
*to feed a horse WITH
dead tissue like...isn't that ne8?
Argh, you are right. This is person with dark skin like.
hmm..i'm having a hard time with the spelling of the dark person...hah...and to think i'm one!!
Lol, then you are SO close :) You need the 'like' ending, the robot ending.
Yeah, found one S :)
black person = 5 letters
yay sprite!
Need one 4 and one 5, bet it is a combo.
buggy insect = 3 letters? that equals 8....
ramix: add first 2 letters of a good thought, something you think up.
ah
shame on me!!! how could i of all people miss that one
Hehehe, too close to see? I missed my husband's first name, lol.
Crikey - 278 - and I'd been spoiled by the shorter grids. Sigh
From which s do your final words begin, Sprite?
I am monkeying like mad for the last 2, matty, so it can be done. Lots of beautiful words today!
What's the theme today?
Haz, from the bottom right one.
matty, it's playing card backs
I think my icon SHOULD be on the back of playing cards.
do you have s5 more painful?
Do you have male child plus vowel, then pluralised?
Yeah, got that one, thanks ramix.
sprite - do you have the unit of sound measure (s)?
broll, I think not! Don't know the word though.
See Haz's clue.
Haz: yes, got those, thanks for helping :)
Ah, same word. Alas, I have those.
Do you have the person/people who think they're superior?
If a sorcerer exists, why can't we sorcer? And that would be 6 *mutter mutter*
so4/4 and 5/10 - to offer oneself for bed and board (clockwise fromthe s)
lol sprite
Haz... that's it! Thanks, that gave me sparkles :)
Well done, Sprite!
Well done!
YAY SPRITE!
yay spritey!
wow awesome sprite
Congrats Sprite! Hi Sue, Ornith, Atalante, Haz and all
Okay, let's see if I can copy the list, delete some parts and put them on BabAnon.
Atalante, you have email, or should shortly
Good morning matty!
Is there something wrong with the list, Sprite?
no lists are up yet, matty
got it ornith :) will read and absorb and try and kick AIM into working later!
hmm...a person that administers censuses....why isnt that a word?
SPRITE! ORNITH! tattoo shaded - http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40 248651/
That'll be what's wrong with the list then :D I've changed my icon.
What word were you trying, ramix?
Oooh - the rude Cabin Boy (who was in fact called Tom) is in the grid!
It is, ramix.
the fcc guys with the er at the end, oh you're in england...well those that replace bad words with bleeps
Try it with or at the end.
plus er at the end
looks great, atalante!
WOW! Just great, Ata!
isn't that amazing! woohoo!
thx haz
You're welcome!
ramix, the -er version has a verb - to swing around that smoky thing in a church
ooh...thanks ornith
yw ramix
Ouch Ata :D I know the John 3:16 - what's the Leviticus quote?
Mornin' All
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD [am] holy, and have severed you from [other] people, that ye should be mine.
hi Odin
Good morning Odin
Hey Ornith big grid today
Hi Haz
Yep, and no lists up, though sprite finished and is working on providing one
2nd letter stats are on BabAnon.
I have just begun...good of Sprite to do that
May blessings be upon you sprite!
Mornin' Sprite
:)
Hi Odin!
Thanks for posting the list
thanks sprite! don't think I'm going to try and tackle my remaining words now - my cold is bugging me - but will help a lot later!
speaking of which, I really ought to sign off and try and get some sleep
Later ornith...feel better
Sleep is a great medicine, really. I should take more of it too.
goodnight all!
Goodnight Ornith -sleep well.
I am off too, gonna play with my kids. Have fun all and happy hunting! *hugs*
bye sprite and thx again
Bye sprite - have a good day.
Where is the list posted, please? Thanks for being such a good babble friend, sprite :)
BabAnon, General, "2nd letter stats 23-9-06"
Sadly, I have to get ready to go shopping. Grocery shopping. The excitement of it all. See you later!
u know...it's 3am here...maybe i shd catch some zzz's too
Thanks Sprite- just out if interest, does anyone know if Lickety will be publishing his stats today? (I'm bad - I find it easier when I don't have to work out where the words go LOL).
No asbo - clearly not in touch with modern British culture!
do you feel as if you are here on your ow mattygroves?
Yep! Either that, or I've peed everyone off LOL!
I'm here. Just trying to work mt way though this maze! Good morning all.
im here, going round and round this grid, sometimes just staring into space actually
Morning guys - looks like it's just the three of us :D Anyone have an eight or nine yet?
hi frances
hi everyone, I just got here, I knew we were in for a big one after yesterday's
Nope
Hi jg
its a no from me
Hi Ted!
is there a theme today, I need to change my icon
Hey Pap
Playing card backs, Ted
I've decided to keep mine as it applies today
thanks, matty, guess I should find me a deck
Hi Odin
Frances, how does your kiss apply today?
sn4/6
Oh yes, so it does :D
Hey matty
hope it doesnt matter if i'm not an icon changer....too lazy i think
Just enjoy the fun jg
whatever floats your boat jg
thanks guys
no pressure here except from the grids
cant believe there are so many words in this grid and i cant find any at the moment!
I'm not doing well either. 70 words, and no long ones.
im less than that!
am here too!
hi atalante, how ya doing
I'll help if I can, but I have only six 6s, three 7s and no eights or nines.
STUCK! thats how I'm doing LOL
I have an 8! ne8/50
how about a 7 letter challenge matty
Sounds like we are all having the same problem with this one
I have co7/36 cr7/32 and gr7/40
Can you guys clue the eight (and other sevens) - the only 7s I have are what kids get when they touch each other (especially if the touchie is unpopular) (that's co7), I have a cr7 meaning to be more angry, and an so7 meaning to be knurder (work it out)
Just found another ne7/40
ne8/50 - the state of dead flesh
thanks Ata! Got that one!
Good one Ata
Now..
matty so7 Silly question - is something to do with knots on tree trunks?
Nope. It's when you're even more knurd (spell it backwards)
Thank you DOH!
Now - tell me about knots on tree trunks?
thanks matty, success at last
I see that the opposite is here!
A knot on a tree trunk is also known as a knur
Oooh - I see. I'm alluding to Discworld.
Is that you finished, jg?
no way, i just meant i got a seven letter word, thanks for the vote of confidence!
I've got an ob7
still looking for my first one, jg and the 8s and the 9s, but then I just started.
And an ob8 (related)
ted, so 7/36,, think drying out after drinking and more or that...not very clear but have a go
thanks, jg, I'll look for it. I've only found 40 words so far so I have a loooooooong way to go
yay, found it, thanks
can I have a clue for the obs? I've been trying to find them for ages!
Gee, apparently this woman, "Being the wife of late Chief of Defence Minister Mr Gobah William of Guinea Bissau .My late husband was assassinated by unknwon military men suspected planed by the present government." wants to share $7 million with me, if only I'll help her move the money. D'ya think it's on the level :D
I'd go for it, matty ....
musical instrument atlante
Ata, the offer below could be considered ob7/40 on one level - so could a dirty movie.
I wonder what one has to do to be 'unknwon'
OH! ty!
Matty, I think you'd be selfish and foolish to pass up this offer of a lifetime. I only wish they'd contacted me.
I can forward you the offer if you like?
LOL!
found my second 7 letter word. co7, 36
no, no....that's okay, but clearly you were chosen very carefully
and my first 8
Clearly, Eva. What 8 did you find, Pap?
the plural of the co7
to compel
many who force to you to act or think in a special way
thanks pappou!
co 7/32 is body louse
take that forst to out, it's still early
oh geez, I can't type this morning, sorry
got it, thanks
Brill, thanks Pap!
thanks, pappouted!
Body louse, JG?
Never mind - you mean kid body louse
what little kids say when they are teasing someone, Don't touch him, he's got the co-------
matty, rhymes with something you put on babies feet to keep them warm
Yah - had that one (one of my first).
I just didn't connect louse with kid touching disease
thats what it said in dictionary
I was here at the flip and have just come back in--do we know if lickety's clues are coming soon/later?
Makes sense - the word must have come from somewhere.
Dunno - but Sprite has apparently posed clues in BabAnon
Just off to the post office. Back later
bye frances
Found a nine - ob9
clever you
If someone is a co8/50, he forces you into ob9/78
Anne-are you lurking?
does that 9 build off a small word
smaller word
pappou-you take an unruly dog to o school
It does, but not in this grid, I don't think.
ah ha! thanks, got it
oh hurrah - i've got the ob/9 *cheers*
Hi Fishy!
Hey matty - :) really need to go food shopping, but can't seem to get away from the grid!
I don't usually go to a list until I have more than half the words on my own. I still have a long way to go so I don't know the combos yet
the food will still be there, LOL
hehe... my thoughts exactly. :)
O usually only go to the list when it is there
There is a list of sorts that Sprite has posted, but I haven't checked it yet.
must be very recent posting
thanks, matty, I'll check it out after I find 50 more which at the rate I'm going will take all day, LOL
It's on babanon
Having said that, I haven't looked.
cr8 found...that's 4 of the five 8ssss...
fish, I found a gr6 that relates to where you need to go today
Thanks Pap!
That's 100 words. I am now going to get my teenage daughter up. It's 10 past noon here.
sounds like my niece
Found di8 & its plural 9.
do you have a clue for it and the cr8 that you found
Good morning all!
hi flask
a3 afear
sorry
are both 9's obwords?
my kitten says hello
No - one's a di9
any clues for either of them please
Hiya 'kitten'!!
The CR8 - not a 'gator but a cr**, then a couple of vowels, then do re me fa so la ** do
great clue matty, ta
For the di8/9 - think church - an area in which a church has sway is a di****** - that's not the word - but close - affairs of the area are di8/50.
time for breakfast, see you all later
by ted
Bye Pap!
a clue please for the ob9...matty got the others .... thanks!
Morning Babblers, WOW this is a biggie.
the kind of school you send our dog to
that's a clue for the ob9
*your
thanks Unea....
thanks uneaixoise...easy clue
:-)
am missing one 8 letter word!
I have the co...cr...di...and ob.....whats missing?
sorry flask only have those ones
ne8/50
ok jg...thanks anyway!
word you'll hear on CSI
refers to dead tissue
whats CSI?
Crime Scene Investigators
oh right!
any other clues?
necrotide
adjective describing dead tissue--think of the prefix meaning dead
ends in ot4/5
thanks Unea....at last, got it!!
yay, flask!
I have 12 of the sevens...anyone have more? Anyone wanna clue 'em? I've seen some clues in the archive, but the re's in particular are giving me trouble.
morning, all
Matty, there is an re7/32 re+what Christ was nailed to. Did you have that one?
I do now, Cat! Thanks!
you're welcome!
re7/36 to be hypnotised and taken back in time/memories
Got that one, Fi.
The sevens I have:
re7/28 re+double consonant+first b***, like in baseball
ab7/40. It makes the heart grow fonder.
Thanks Cat!
co7/36 - one who forces.
you're welcome! That's all the re7's
Oh didn't have the ab7 thanks matty
co7/32 - body lice - what kids give each other, especially unpopular kids (but I'm not bitter)
cr7/21 - to be angrier. Or more perpendicular
LOL Matty!
ec7/40 - to murder the environment (I guess)
gr7/40 - guys who sell you fruit, veg, tinned goods and stuff. What 'shop assistants' used to be before superstores.
fun clues, even the hypnotize that I still did not get...
no7/44 - what you put on a horse to feed it on the move. Or what I need to catch snot, since my honker won't stop running.
eeeewww matty but do get better soon!
ob7/40 - perverse, disguisting. Like porn films.
Pam, it's like being hypnotised, taken back into "past lives" they call this re*****ion.
re7/21 - to make someone angry again. Or make them perpendicular again.
re7/36 - to take someone back, or to turn into a child again. The second part is kind of like the little green stuff you put in egg sandwiches, but with a differnt first letter.
thanks, cat, still don't see it
can u elaborate on the ec7/40 please?
Also think of re+ plus the ending if a female tiger?
but, it may be me... my head and heart have been torn apart in the last 2 weeks, so it is hard to concerntrate
*of not if
I'm sorry to hear that Pam, hope things get better for you.
re7/28 - re** Faire (what we had at Reed - people dress up in medieval clothes and stuff) plus German for what is currently running on my face (see clue for no7)
sc7/32 - people who kick balls into goals a lot.
sc7/40 - a miser. From Dickens.
got the clue--the tiger one, thanks... and thanks for the nice wishes
You're very welcome Pam
there is a great sc7/40 - think of a Dickens book
pam...try re + rhymes with what a woman can wear (dr***)
so7/36 - some who is more knurd (spell it backwards)
And the ec - think ec*warrior and infanti****
lol...very clever Matty!!
I love Dickens FM
Right, those are my sevens clued. Can anyone clue what I don't have? LOL!
Got it Matty...thanks!
Did you clue, ab***** makes the heart grow fonder?
Yep. First one I clued, Cat! :D
Good old alphabetical order
trees have r4/4 - make them more so for the ro7/28
Sorry! LOL I'm still a-huntin here, missed it!
HAve you got the ne7/40?
How about more "not drunk"? so7/36?
That's my knurd, Cat!
Thanks Fi - I have the ne8, but not the 7
re7/28.....Cat can u elaborate on it please....
and there is an es7/36 that builds off the es5
As Cat clued it earlier: "re7/28 re+double consonant+first b***, like in baseball"
Oooh - i don't have an es5...
The es sounds like the horse racing venue up the road from me.
I don't know anything about baseball!!
Well, the word contains two components, the ball and the ... ba...
Where do you live, Fi? What racing venue?
thanks fmitch
Afternoon all. I've found 'sod it' and 'ASBO' but they don't count.:)
Think My Fair Lady, or Royal As*** Berkshire
nice try jac
Oooh. Now I know (all I could think of was Epsom!)
got teh racetrack, but am completely stumped by the baseball
again, though... it is me
matty lol me too x
and there is a 3 day race meeting on as we "speak"
me too!
got the racecourse!
Pam. try instead of first b***, try Miltary b***, does that help?
pam- re+double cons+b***ball
yes!!!!!! thanks!!!!!!!!! was looking at the wrong consonants...
cod for me
thanks beebee, my brain is fried, thats a better clue
Enable's not garden-friendly; no 'godetia'!
RE** and stimpy?
Clues are up! Bit late I know!
thank.... you.....
hi, jac
Hey Lickety - you're a STAR!
Not a prob Lickety - thanks as always
yes, thanks, lickety!
Thanks Lickety!
Thanks matty - Normally I'm 1 min after flip - today was trying!
ok, thanks everyone else too!
So...who's going to the list then? I have 114 words, and probably will resort - but may well strech my legs first...
I'm sure I'll resort - I'm just not good enough to finish without it.
going to perservere without it for a while
got the baseball one!!!.............AT LAST!!!!!!!
matty - I've only just started. No list at this stage.
hi everyone - thanks lickety
Im at 162, wow I'm at 162 didn't realise I had scraped that many together (great clues in the log always help though).
FMitch Did you know that there is a cricket ground in the middle of that racecourse. I was there scoring a couple of weeks ago.
hi saph :)
How come I still have yesterdays list????
I did indeed Frances, was it moved or altered with the big rebuild?
No. They had to move the golf course across the road but the cricket ground stayed where it was and it really is lovely.
No 'debag'? Good grief!
Can anyone tell me why I still have yesterdays list please??
Try refreshing - shift f5 to clear the cache?
Sorry Flask. I haven't looked at any lists yet.
Yes the golf course has aparently settled very well and is already a good course.
The cricket ground is so quiet and peaceful. You can just see the rails of the course on the boudary.
I mean boundary
Oh well.......no list for me today!!
abode
sorry!
Morning, Babblers. Just a quick stab at the puzzle here before I have to run out.
tis okay Flask, I didn't have that yet! :)
Flask - sprite posted a list on BabAnon it that would help? Go to Babblers Anon then general and then it's about the 3rd post down on the list I think.
Good morning Judy
Oh well.....you deserve it....after all the help you've given me this morning!
ok Mitch....thanks!
Flask - I think you're suffering from a Proxy Caching problem. If Shift F5 - or Cntrl F5 or menu - Refresh, or restart browser doesn't refresh - then you need to clear your internet history. Everyone else see's it fine.
still doesn't explain why I can't get Lickety's tho'....
Ok thanks...I shall try again!
hi everyone... bit of a big grid today, nice for the weekend
Frances - does that mean you are fairly local to the area or do you travel all over doing the scoring?
hi mrp
Hey MrP, feeling any better?
I can email you the clue page if you'd like Flask
Hey MRP
not really fmitch... flu has caught me good!

Stay here and be wordy!!! Hi pida and matty again.
Hello all, just popping in before bed here.
we're all ignoring that suggestion nut...
hi Miss :)
LOL I just glanced down to see how many words left and my poor bloodshot eyes saw 419 and got confused, I thought there were that many left! That's just how many points I have... maybe I should tackle this in the AM.
sounds like it's time for bed Miss...
Hi Miss, stick around for a little longer. What time is it over there?
Oh it's almost 11PM (10:45PM to be exact)
But it's been a long day, my nephew slept over last night (he's 8) and the young fellow gets up at the crack of dawn!
Well, I guess you might want to hit the sack, then.
I'll stay till right at 11 LOL, unless I fall asleep and "drool" on the keyboard or something.
We'll probably still be at it when you get back up!!!!
Good Evening all just looked at grid for first time now OUCH what a big one
How's the grid today?
Evening Tiny
that mens you're ten and a half hours ahead of the UK Miss... I forget that the time difference can be in half hours...
Hi all.
hi Tiny :)
Yeah there are only a few half hour time zones in the world... and I happen to be smack in the middle of one of 'em
Hello Matty
hello everyone - I echo Tiny's ouch - !
Hi to all back
Good morning, everybody!

hi Charm :)
hello Charm
Hi, sherb. Miss ABS - LOVE Calvin & Hobbes!
Thanks Charm!
I love Calvin and Hobbes too!
AND Bloom County
They always made me laugh
Too bad they're not going anymore.
Some of the best comics are no longer being drawn (Bloom County)....
Do you read Non Sequitur? warped funny but also often politically astute....
I LOVE Non Sequitor. And Speed Bump.
lickety - I never knew how much I loved ya until the list wasn't there this morning! Thank you for you work on that thing
No, never did. We may not have had it here
There's a Sunday strip called Opus now, isn't there, by Berkley Breathed?
will go look up Speed Bump....
Don't get that down here in my hick town!
Aww everyone I'm sorry I'm petering out here... I can't even focus. I think it's about time for me to head off. Good luck
Yes, they brought back Opus, finally

I'm thinkin'. I'm thinkin'. quit pushin'
ok LOL
'negro' isn't a word? I don't think it's a derogatory term either....
I tried that also and I didn't understand why it wasn't a word either
I think it should be
Take that word Charm and build on it for ne7/40
add the opposite of ego to the end
hi-- i think it's a proper noun (negro)
but it does take the ne7 based on that....
Thanks FMitch
Hi, FMitch and bonkler.
hi all, trying to grab a few words before heading to work
afternoon all..does any one have a clue for the di9 pls?
Hi Charm and all, been lurking and chatting on and off as am also working
that's because the ne7/40 is an adjective describing the proper noun?
Hi bonkler I have to go to work today also YUCK
hi rolin
Hi Doren :)
Hi Rolin
hi rolin, charm, fairie, mitch, et al

Good morning fellow Babblers
morning metal
hi scrabbler, metaleather
ob9...do as youre told!
Hi Metal
ob9 - training dogs the Woodhouse way!
loverly, rolin!
rolin take the 1st 5 letters of the word that first comes to mind when you think the di and add the stuff you find on the beach minus the last letter
Hi scrabbler, metal, etc
hi pida
OUR dog needed 3 difference ob9 classes, including one we called the dog-nazi because he was such a control freak....
TY for the clues--my 1st 3 words are a 7, and 8 and a 9
perfect mitch...i would never have found it otherwise...thx
FM -Dorens -Pida - Hi also - and anyone esle I missed (sorry not looking much)

Good afternoon everyone! I see the blessed Lickety has come up with the goods.... I was on earlier this morning when the list wasn't up. I'll try to find a few more before consulting it.
Hi dorens, didn't mean to leave you out, had to put in that di clue before I forgot it.
Hi Haz
Hi Haz!
Good afternoon Haz! good to see you.
hi there Haz :)
what is your icon dorens?
Hi FMItch - I hadn't seen you around earlier and you went AWOL yesterday!
Yes, Dorens, I can find words and not feel too guilty. I notice that you are from NJ. I have a sister up in Montvale.
thankds pida. but the day i iget insulted by no hello's from any babble friend, i need to have my head examined (my nose is much in the grid today too)
Sherb! You know it's the weekend when you are here!
i'm in mountan lakes....not that far
shorty, it's a ginko leaf left over from the tree day....i just like the way it looks
Sory Haz flipping work got in the way, Im printing stuff now too but managing to do a little babble at the same time.
sure is Haz... I can indulge in Babble and Quote Puzzler to my heart's content :)
Oh ok thats cool thanks
Hi shorty
in fact, I have the Honeycomb on one side of the screen and the babble chat log on the other... bliss :)
Hi pida
That explains it FMItch. And Sherb - don't concentrate on quote-puzzler any more than you have been doing or your scores will go throughthe roof.
I've never worked out with honeycomb whether it's best to concentrate on backwards/forwards words or longer ones. It's a fun puzzle though.
good mornging all.
Hi Bloodaxe
Mornin Blood
Hi bloodaxe
hello Bloodaxe
I'm aiming for the monthly QP prize... only problem being you have to play just about every day... beginning to feel like the tyranny of daily Babbling...
Bloodaxe - good morning to you.
hi bloodaxe
how's the grid today?
backwards/forewards is the most important thing... although from yesterday there are extra points for longer words, so we'll have to see if that changes things...
Is the QP prize of monetary value or are you playing for pride mostly?
pride, completely... I think the actual prize is a book token... might not even be usable in the UK...
some big words but nothing really weird. yet
Then it's a bit like Crufts - the prizes there are of negligible value in monetary terms, but are highly sought after!
Haz, really nice pic of the dog....
Thanks Charm. It was taken to let Atalante and others see how nice she looked after being groomed the other day. She smelt great as well!
Nothing so pleasant as a dog just home from a bath!
Ours takes about 2-3 days before he stops smelling of 'wet dog' and goes back to having not much of any scent....
Hi Haz long time no see
I know - they must have a special shampoo at the groomers. I'm tempted to get some for myself, it smells so good....
lol!
Hi faeriekae! I was charmed to see Shorty's picture of you. Now I know what you look like!
Awwwww Shorty is a Sweetheart we had such a good time together.
It must have been fun! Next time, you'll have to wear your babble t-shirts and it'll be a proper convention.
I dont' have a BABBLE T-Shirt I want one now
Scroll down to the bottom of the page - they're the latest thing from Dr_GOd.
I will that is awsome I have to have one
(I'm on commission from Dr_God for every babbler I get to buy a T-shirt)
Do you get a free word with each sale Haz?
I get an early look at the grid.
its the witching hour here so I shall say goodnite all. Bye
Haz, you should have held out for the free words....
bye lynxxx - later.
LOL FMitch :)
Bye lynxxx - sleep well.
Good Night Sweet Dream Lynxxx :)
night lynxxx
I'm beginning to think Dr_God has got one up on me....
Hi Blood
Hi farie
Night, lynxx
Now you are telling fiblets Haz :)

good day not to start, I think! We're heading up to Whidbey Island to meet up with "The Fiz" at the Kite Festival. Just wanted to say hello before we leave. See you tomorrow!
Anyway - do you suppose that resag is what happens when facelifts wear out? Enable won't take it....
well hello stid. and good day stid!
Hello stidmama - have a great time!

but she is thoroughly adorable and i will throw up more pictures as mu icon soon
It's lovely weather here in Western Washington. Perfect for kite flying and walking around outside. I'll see you later. Have to go before I start entering all the words I am seeing! LOL *poof*
do you have nice weather for today?
hah... you put that up just as I asked...enjoy and say hi to the fiz for us
Just found ba6/30 - another candidate for sagging. LOL. Apparently, it's sugar cane residue.

Yes it's true just ask your her LOL
she is gone again....must have the boys
Smiley I stopped and visited with her a couple months ago and it was confirmed. She just has Matthew today.
Sorry - I probably need a fish - but an5/12 and the possibly related 6/24?
Never mind
Please enforce the 10 second rule.
LOL Matty
Never give me a clue until at least 10 seconds have passed between me asking and an answer.
he should'nt be to bad
She loves those babies doesn't she?
Smiley are you in Indiana
reckon so
yes
ok....are you ready for the 28th? I'll be thinking about you.
She told me and I think it is fantastic what your doing. Your very brave.
Having said that, the an6 doesn't seem to be related to the an5...
yes it is, matty - adj. form....
As ready as I can be
They are related Matty
So it does!
The ones in the waiting room have the hard part
The ones in the waiting room have the hard part
I hope you are OK Smiley
I will be fine.
bye for now all, I'm off to the "real" world for a few hours. have a great arbitrarily designated time unit of your choosing
Thanks for your vote
Bye metal
I hate this grid my g/f is much better at this
bye metaleather
You'll get better too Smiley
I do not care much for spelling
We only upgraded because shorty got her addicted to it
I just found 2 words that would make Steve Irwin happy
did you find dthe cr 8, scrabbler?
No. I don't have the list open yet, I am just getting familiar with the grid and finding the obvious
I'll take a clue though
Smiley I know it is nerve wrecking but you can do it :)
I found the gr6 and 7 in that vicinity
brb phone
mineral that steve irwin must have liked
I found it got on my nerves at first, had to tell myself this is a game for fun so relaxed and now enjoy
thanks for the g's scrabbler
YW
may I show my ignorance and ask who is steve irwin?
Crikey!
Wildlife guy from Australia, Croc Hunter on Animal Planet TV, killed Sept 4 in accident with a stingray
he was the guy from australia (nz?) who loved animals...the cr** in particular
Australia.
oh yes, now I know
He got killed by a stingray recently.
OOOOOPPPSSS, I used a word!
Try googling him
thanks...thought so, but didn't want to make a mistake
BI5/15? My monkey can't seem to find it
bi5/16 - accompanying lavatorial equipment
Sorry - have that one - it's the 14 I'm looking for (I guess I split the difference there!)
b + i4/4 (small quantity)
bi5/14 refers to things that live in an specific environment.
TY
iotae
Thanks Blooodaxe - thanks to your clue, and my monkey fingers, finally found it.
do NOT try that at home
ok i am back
my computer shut off
Hi (((((Shorty)))))
The other day Babble kicked me off--the site just shut down. I must have been entering too many completely ridiclulous words
(((((((Faerie))))))))
((((Faerie & Shorty))))
Scrabbler that has happened to me also LOL
Shorty - I miss you maybe we can get together again here in the next week or so???? What do ya think?
(((Scrabbler

Oooh - yet ANOTHER kiddie word, and indeed another word referring to snot!
I'm such a kid at heart.
Scrabblers in the penality box LOL
TY Matty.
mattygroves, in the southern U.S. that's a peanut.
I am just a kid too--I love being silly and goofy
Really?! a bo6/30 is a peanut?
AHA--anagram
A can a imagine the looks people get if they go up north or to the UK.
"Hi - I'd like some bo7/44s to eat - have you got them unsalted?"
I thought that was the go6?
Tina

lived in the south a long time, never heard of peanuts referred to as BO6's....
No, they are called go*****
apologies to all
Charm neither have I LOL
Yep, Scrabbler, I knew that one - it was the other that played with my brain.
Munner needs to be in the penalty box....
Scrabbler I remember them now LOL
Now all our overseas friends are going to think we're REALLY weird!
(willingly walking to penalty box...)
Now that I have the image of going into the pub, and asking for dry roasted bo7/44s....onward!
No one has to co 6/24 me
LOL--good for you Munner
I guess shes not here
.... it's a power play ....
must not be Shorty
I needed a little re 6/21 anyway.

The team has regrouped and is focused on goals again
make it a bottle of champagne and I'm there....
no fair, mitch - you'll have to give up a word to get in here!
Thanks Charm!
FMItch - you don't do the time UNLESS you do the crime.
yw yw
Oh heck I can't type one in the log on purpose that really breaks the rules *hands TO big box of chocolates*

Aha, she just wants the OJ and vodka. No fair
Shorty to the penality box LOL
** slap me with a dead herring **
Does stupidity earn a trip to the penalty box?
shorty has to bring a goodie to make it to the penalty box with the oj and vodka
well if you insist mattty
Yes, of course
as5/12 - a famous race course
ok In the box i go
Thanks. Mines a G and T. Or a margarita will do. Or bettter yet, a dacqueri
is it a 2 min or 5 min
Just 2
2 mins Shorty
30 sec, then you have to come out and give clues
thanks, Haz for the as5
ok
What kind of race Haz?
Haz - and change the 1st letter for another 5 and a 7
A horse race meeting - well known for fashions and ladies hats.
Yes,thanks FMitch, got them.
Hmmm, is it a UK race?
derby is not a word so I'm lost LOL
thanks Haz et al
Think My Fair Lady, the black & white outfits, and 'move yer bloomin' arse...."
There's been helicopers and whatnot buzzing about today as there is horse racing on this weekend.
es5 sounds like the racecourse...
Yes - it's really a race course which gives its name to the race meeting. It ends with a baby's bed
Or, in the States, it ends in a camp bed.
iinstead of derby or race.. think of someone who accompanies you to an affair... your es****, but then drop the Second to last letter
Oh, is that as5 the same as the thingy guys wear around their necks?
Yes - it's also used in that context.
I got those (as5 and es5). TY
Thanks Dorens
I am going to take JJ (daughter) to refill cartridges. I cannot find two of the bo5/14s, and one of the bo6/24s, but I suspect it's because I've been playing too long.
yw
She's on here sometimes as JJ
brb I need food
Too much vodka Matty
lol my last name in in the grid!
bo5/14 = fr for good, fem.
grot
matty - french feminine adjective for good and plural.
I always "need" food
bo5/14 = fr for bottle? (not sure)
French for box - bo5/14
thanks, Haz.
or nightclub...
Todays fact - The race course we were talking about was founded by Queen Anne in 1711.
TO--TY but into the box you go
The french for bottle is altogether more involved! Lots of vowels!
Just one 5/14 left for the bs (and of course, 116 other words)...I have the good girl - bottle?
good i am a little thirsty
Bottle?
French?
Confused?
Me?
need some more caffeine, stuck at 71 to go.
bo plus an anagram of men's neckwear for the bo5/14
the Cs are killers
Found it!
Now the Cs...but I think, first, a word from our sponsors.
Good! Taking a break as well. Bloodaxe, are you still here?
I'm here Haz...sort of.
i am missing 8 Bs
BA6/30...please?
Okay - remember when you promised me a kidney? Could I cash it in for putting away my grocery shopping? It's my hated task of the week.
hahaha..sure. I'll hop a plane and be there in a few hours.
ba6/30 = hand ba* + donkey.
no illegal trading of organs on the Babble log, please...
Soliciting clues for the R words in the bottom row and the o far left in row just above it. My self-imposed rule is that I can't go to the list unless I have found a word for each tile.
That word describes my arse
We'll be waiting...... see you all shortly.
bagass
Thanks Charm!
and TO....lololol
No name calling please
You're just not going to get out of that penalty box....

i think it's time for breakfast....
back to the penalty box TO
i want badass to be there
ro*** wilco... what pilots say
Do you need another bottle of vodka by now?
no i think i need to be flagged
maybe it's the vodka that's the problem... she needs some caffeine...
did anyone else see the c fish int he grid today?
Dorens, that one's credited to the R in the row above it. Thanks anyway.
gore
sorry
I need break fast but I don't want to leave this comedy routine
dorens dorens dorens
well i'm taking a break as well. I'll pick up the vodka TO
What does our former VP have to do with this?

ce5/16 reverse the order of the third and fourth letters of the ce5/18 and add a vowel on the end.
Hi Monkey - I don't think we've met.
Hi Monkey
Thanks Haz - now in the CEs just a ce5/14, 4/5 and 5/12. This is tough today - don't know that I'll finish it, dang it.
ce4/5 - add an old-fashioned word for before, and pluralise.
Just the 5/14 left
ce5/14 - follows the same structure as french for thanks.
Thanks Haz - I'd have never foudn those on my own.
You're welcome.
matty
Hi chj - how's you?
Good morning all -- got tired of watching the Americans lose the Ryder Cup, so here I am :)

(Mind you, I bet you'd look great in a frock LOL)
Matty, don't worry--I actually got the answer from your clue way back in the grid!

im a guy not a gay

Curtis, I mean no offence, really. Sorry for having misclued you, and sorry for implying that you wear frocks.
matty dont gove iot a second thought
Oh, Bloodaxe, still no flag for you? Maybe Dr. God takes it easy on weekends. :(
the ONLY reason i brought it up is so you know for the future because i use TI in clues and i dont want YOU to be confused
someday I'll have a flag:(
thanks ank
OK , so how about a clue for the di 8 and 9??
*sigh* Give it a couple of days... maybe if no flag by Monday afternoon, you drop him a note. I just used the link at the bottom of the page, but I'd say, give him a little time. :)
it's an adjective describing a Catholic area/district
Is that a Boston in your icon, Blood?
inge - ot has to do with what a bishop runs
di8/50 - relating to church affairs, specifically a district under a bishop's authority. (praying that chj is not a church authority)
Haz, LOL!!
yes and no. She's my mothers, and her name is louise.
You will be in trouble if he is Haz!!
Excommunication looms.
Usually, when I'm home,I don't really like her, but for some reason she's the only thing I miss from home so far.
LOL Haz and Fi!
lol Haz :)
Louise is .. half Boston? "yes and no" ? How long have you been gone?
Doesn't look very friendly Blood....lol
"Do a deer a female deer" - honest I know the words
FMitch, in Scrabble, you can play "ut" which is, no kidding, do re mi fa so la ti ut!
I guess I'm persona non grata at the moment...
She's full Boston. She was the runt of the litter. My mother has had her for over two years now, but I haven't lived at home for about 7 years. As far as missing her, I've been in Morocco for a little over a month now.
how do you like it, Blood?
hey all, i know the di 8 and 9 but can't seem to spell it, can anyone help me?
Do you work in Morocco Blood?
I T
don't let her looks fool you Flask. She's pure evil. Her nickname is "Louise-ifer".
(Sorry, knitter - it was just too easy)
lol...Matty!
and i LOVE morocco. I'm going to school here for a year.
blood i think your dog is adorable
Oh, not long at all! Well, it's strange the things you'll miss. What I miss most about Illinois is not Chicago, but the big skies all along Route 55. Louise-ifer! That's great!
Ankh I will have to remember that.
MATTY!!!!
di+4th vowel+ **asar palace + *** e of mind
so, Blood, how did you decide on Morocco?

TY enomis, babble clues for dummies!!

I play Scrabble everyday....I love it!
no problem - been there with simpler words LOL
i took a year of Arabic at my home institution and they have a partnership with this University in Morocco. I'm studying Political Science, Religous Studies, and International Studies, so Northern Africa just seemed like a no-brainer.
Very rarely Ankh sorry to say
Where are you from originally, Blood?

Origionaly from North Dakota matty.

I have been to Tunisia....it was beautiful!!
Yup. I used to play a lot before I got caught up in this game
seems like it would be MAJOR culture shock!
Bichon, I do! Wow, Bloodaxe, I am pea green with envy here.
actually none at all matty. I've fallen in love with everything I've seen here.
By Enomis
eons
family coming to visit while you're there?
Blood, is it hard/same for female students?
Bichon....my only complaint about Wordbiz...there are too many idiots......
haha..well you ALL are welcome to visit. I'll give you the grand tour. and if you are interested, I'm keeping an online blog of my travels...

google scrabble and it's there
down to 2 and im tired of monkeying around---ne6/21 and the last or6/21
thanks Bichon....
sere
Thanks, Bichon. Hey, how come no flag for you?
the female students have some troubles, but not on campus really. the school is segregated as far as dorms go, but the university is pretty relaxed. they run into some issues when they visit more conservative cities, or if they go to town alone.
How do I do that?
fill out profile....I think!
Bichon, click on "my account" and enter a country, I guess.
what took you to Tunisia Flask? I hope to be in Egypt for the winter break.
ne6 - the end of Little Ab*** and the start of the feathery duck
Blood, I would be bugged by not being able to go about alone, but otherwise, I would have loved Morocco!
thanks haz
you're welcome!
*now positively OLIVE with envy!!* I wanna go to Egypt! Pyramids! arooooo!!
I don't know what the feathery duck is...
morning all
type of down matty
It's not too bad Ank. They recommend that no international students travel alone. But the town the university is located in is very safe. It's a small resort town.
Think what some old-fashioned quilts were called.
e + apple c****
Got it - thanks (it's a type of spirit, isn't it?)
Haz, not eider... huh... stuck.
Hiya KL
Egypt should be great. I should be there for a couple weeks. My Arabic teacher from the States is from there and will be home for the break. Her son is getting married, so i may even get to attend an egyptian wedding! I'm crossing my fingers.
OOOH!
I am competely confused now with that ne6 clue.
ne + do ** mi + not the ego but the **
10 sec rule--I got it
ne + the first letter of what you do with a bood _ the 2nd and 3rd vowels+ a poor mark at school
does any one have the lat or6/21
DI5/14 - not the one that starts like a machine to narrate into for typing....
ne6 - the start of the word is the ending of a character Little Ab*** - or Little jack Hor***.
can any one clue the ob 9?
excuse me that shoud be book
Ah - have other people taken on my rule? LOL
Still looking chj for the or6
The OB9 - you send your dog to school for this

Wow, Matty, CHJ, I never would have seen it.
But still, can someone clue that di5/14 for me, please?

Never mind - my monkey found it
or6/21 the second, differs from the or6/21 the first by one vowel within the word.
And my monkey just found the go5/16!
<sigh> There are too many. I know I won;t finish today
hydra the deity + an alien in a movie title
haz there is no DER in the grid
I sometimes think our monkeys could finish the grid without us!

CHJ, drop the "r" -- that's the possessive in the language it came from.
dibs
or + duck *****r
thanks got it now
stop!
Thank you, Bichon
Oh no, Bichon has first dibs
here we refer to the duck as ei5/14
not ei4/5
My Bichon is at the groomer today and it's so quiet

You're right, Matyy!
I never imagined I would be so attached to a non-human
hey, cath!
go-5-16 please
hi une!
Thanks and hi, Cathyar! Oh, yeah, Bichon, it's what Freud said is the only unambiguous love humans ever know.
gonna make lunch
One of my bunnies sleeps in bed with me. He jumps up next to me at bedtime and when I wake up during the night he is nearby--at my head or my feet usually. And if I sleep "late" he is my alarm.
So you understand, Scrabbler.
do5/16 the first?
Scrabbler, had no idea bunnies did that--how adorable!
I cannot imagine life without him. Sebastian is the most intuitive and social bunny that I have ever had.

ab 5/16 a mud house, ab 7 /40 athe "lack" of a mud house
thanks though
ab5, 16 ... with me (quite a famous song :-))
i thought there was only 1 ob9 peri
In school if you are not there you are called ab****. It is a form of that word, scrabbler
ab7/40
there in only 1 MVA, earlier clues confused me
I got the ab 7--TY. Not the ab 5 yet.
co7/36 and co8/50 - someone who forces you do something
do you have bi4/7 scrabbler cos you can put the a in front
does anyone know what the last 8 starts with
OH, duh, I already had it but didn't enter it on lickety's list. I am truly a moron--it must be hypothermia from autumn
ob8/55
may I have a clue for the ob8 please
more rude
More help please
the kind of language we don't want to see in the chat log..
ob7/40 but worse
does anyone have a clue [that I can understand] at the end of the co8 that begins with a reptile?
OOOHHHHH, got it
don't have the ob7/40
cr4 + circle + "B*** me!"
just clued it, peri
ob + sc5, then add R for the 8
Aloy, your clue is not helping me all I can think of is obscure
NASTY peri... FOUL
rude, gross, perverted, expletive
NM finally figured it out before I saw your clue Scrabbler, but thanks and thanks Aloy
I need a sweatshirt, hot tea and lunch. BBL
what is b*** ne?

that's b*** me?
What a bad dog might do, Bichon

Aloy, was that a clue for me, the tree thing? R word?
Aloy the clue you gave does not use the R in the bottom left
jfb i think i've promised to put a picture of hazel as my icon
get to the ro** of the problem?
oops, I see that the row before... sorry
Peri, it *could* have done so, but Dr. God assigned it to the other R. Or Lickety did.
I won't hold my breath!!
thanks aloy i didnt see that one
It's the corner R that's driving me wild.
how rude jfb!!!
I think the ro7/28 uses the left bottom R cause that square is now grey, builds offf the ro4/4
back to the grid... I'm not that far yet.. :-(
crocebite
Ank, keep putting endings on the ro4/4
Bichone, wrong box, wrong middle vowel! circle!
ro-7 28 uses the bottom r
And drop the B!

Txs, sha!
What am I doing wrong?
I still don't have it, Sha. Bichon, you typed in the wrong box. Start your cr* word in the other box. ;)
I see it now.. more of the same under the ground
ty sha
Ah, Aloy, Sha, *now* I get it! Txs!
ro 4-4 +3rd vowel +2nd vowel +18th letter

I will be glad to share and help. Good luck to you. vmk

Meaningless protest on the absence of the beloved Oreo cookie from the dictionary.

careful allflesh
about what?
using words from the grid
everyone knew the word
and YOU are not my mommy
I'm off to do chef duty -- back at the flip :)
"I hit him with everything I had Right there between the eyes I said 'I'm gonna get you you son of a bitch For spouting that pack of lies!' If there's one thing I can't ***** It's an ethnocentric racist Now you take back that thing you said About Aristittle Onassis!"
I didn't know the word yet, so thank you allflesh
everyone didn't necessarily know the word allflesh. we need to be careful not to use words from the grid.
From Texas gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman
and you need to go tell it on the mountain
Keeping quiet (for a change!) here and trying to catch up on lost grid time...
It was a friendly reminder, allflesh -- thought you had used it in error --- yelling is not appreciated, though!
words are mentioned daily and you uppities joke about it
and your comment is not appriciated

mab - I hate it when the cu4/6 word appears, but I do type it in. Anyway, it's an old English term that was once commonly used for female genitalia. It only became a derogatory term later.
50 to go, and an hour before I need to stop. Please, people, ask for more clues!!!
lol
2nd se6/18 please
what do you need gwen
Well, I say 'English'. I really mean Anglo-Saxon. Most swear words and derogatory terms do have Anglo-Saxon roots.
abos is worse than negro for being disparaging and I can't work out why this Australian abbreviation is in the dictionary and roos isn't.
se 6/18 used in electrical work
Mercy - I clued you that not long ago.
Dr_God seems to be closely tied to the dictionary.
Too many to ask for! But, how about the first se6 & 7?
what's the first se6/18?
sorry jac...must have missed it
Jacula ProfileUnited Kingdom Mercy - you might have a parking se6/18 on your car that bleeps when you get too close to something. (It sounds like someone who decides what can and cannot be watched on TV and in the cinema.)
Good question, bloodaxe!

Like the spanish Mr, but w/o an i
Can't believe I'm asking for this, but how about bi5,14? Just sitting here staring
Jacula, can't get the se6/18 even with your clue
hillary - best not to use grid words in posts, where possible, but I realise you want to make a point. The dictionary doessn't allow 'dunny' either, as we found out yesterday.:(
thanks snp.
Members of the Fighting Uruk-Hai are lurking in the grid...

Must just be a language barrier thing.
Bloodaxe - I'm not sure if what you just typed sounds normal or perverted. ROFLOL.
there's something about their features. It's a pretty homogenous population, so they mostly look the same. but man!
haha..sorry jac. i meant it in the least perverted way possible.
Bloodaxe - having read your next post... I know. *grins and raises her eyebrows. 'Men! You gotta love 'em!'
What is used in electrical work?

Sounds like one of the S's in USSR except with a B, mkl
oh, and reverse the vowels. doh!
gwenski - my other half is sometimes very useful for finding Babblets, since he's mildly dyslexic. Mind you, I wanted to kill him the day I'd left one word to find and the found it and put it in! It was like someone tearing the last page out of a good book! He's not made that mistake again. LOL.
2nd sc7?
ebenezer
Enomis - mean character from Dickens.

Jacula - Mine can find words too, but it's frustrating to me when he starts calling out random words, without looking to see if I need them.
Mercy - bo5/18 & plural 6 = a narrow stretch of water. Thing 'morass' or 'marsh' (or slang word for toilet + a little Princess Royal.

Enomis - Out with my old schoolfriends in a Fench restaurant (so-called) earlier this evening, we decided to speak only French to the teenaged staff. Their French accents (speaking English) sounded so false.
LOL Jacula! Merci
If any true French chef entered that restaurant and ate there, he would be apoplectic, as was this UK cook. How is it possible to make canard stringey??

Oh Lord! '68, was it? I remember my friend's older sister went on a school trip to France and came back with those 2 singles (45rpm vinyl records). Jane and Se*** had been banned in UK! LOL. Another big hit at the time was 'American Woman' by The Guess Who and 'Albatross' by Fleetwood Mac.
