thanks une!
Congrats indeed, Smooth!
Fran's goose is here!
hey again smooth
Well done Smooth! Great news
honk!
yay! greyed out a letter!
what will you be doing instead of customer service?
yeah, now I am the merchandising coordinator. I handle all the art samples that we use for the catalog photo shoots, maintain them in a safe environment, and shuttle them between the shoots and our offices.
phantom: taffeta
I literally have about a million and a half dollars worth of art at my care
so, what type of art?
smooth and nef almost said a wooord! :-)
all sorts, nef... a lot of blown glass... prints, furniture, jewlery, ceramics, etc...
you can check out the stuff we sell here: www.guild.com
that sounds neat.
thanks
yeah, it's a cool opportunity, to be able to work with all this stuff... but again, it's a very busy gig, and and LOT of precautions taken when hanling the stuff
Fran, I'm having a hard time finding words here tonight! This grid says I'm making up words ;)
well, if you add an S to what you and smooth have been talking about, it's in the grid and at least that will be one! :-)
what I see so far is really NICE stuff, Smooth. How come everything I *really* like is beyond my price range? SIGH
Thanks Fran! :D
that makes a grand total of 10 words in 20 minutes! :D
yeah, definitely not cheap stuff. lol if you want cheaper stuff, check out my website. ;)
how's everyone doing? half way, but only one 7 and nothing bigger!
wow, nice stuff smooth

Anne Frank -- I think her diaries should be required reading for every generation
Hi Nan
Hi nan and I agree!
yes. but I got the k's first (if I had looked ahead I would have tried a different pattern)
nan, did you see where they found papers (in the Netherlands I think) where Anne Frank's father was requesting and denied immigration to the US for the family?
Hadn't heard that -- when was this, Nef?
I was listening to MPR today and heard it
(public radio)

yay -- found the ro 8 & 9
Hey jilli
just back from a ballet performance of "Amadeus"
Now to find another icon...
did you have a good time, jilli?
Hi! what ballet troupe, Jilli?
flip
Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada - a very international group actually -- lots of Russian names
funny thing, ro9 being the singular and ro 8 the plural
Mozart was Asian!
now that is new, jilli :)
bottom 2 rows grey and a good place to stop. have fun everybody. later.
Goodnight Doc
bye drB
good night DrB
phantom: truffle....
thanks, sprite, for the ro8 & 9!
yw, I found them 'cause nan pointed them out :)
is it too early for clues? --- still looking for the pe and al 7's
don't have the pe, but I have AL6/24 people who graduate, change last letter. Then latin plural for the 7.
chic, I haven't been able to find one single word with that truffle ending yet!
ty sprite
I have one with an 'el' ending but that's it...
hello everyone!
oh that's not true; there are 2 one 4 and one 5 letter word
mrP !!!!! Big hig, haven't seen you for ages!

first half is easy, mrP

Hi flosey - how is cold coming?
oh no! is this a 4 hour bender??
much better MG thanks
lingering yet
dilly has told me that you are having a hard time shaking it
are there any english words in this grid?
Perhaps the sunshine will help :)
some, mrP! Really!
I see abit of spanish, italian and dialects of klingon!
jury is still out debating whether the Klingon wins, though
nan, found a pe7 that rhymes with grownups.
down to 65 -- time to call it a night -- see you tomorrow
oh no -- now I can't quit!
you'll have it in a sec, sorry to keep you ;)
found it -- thanks!
mrp, you going to be around tomorrow for some Lit? Mamais over her trying week now....
and good night to you, nan!
good night! --- btw -- don't tapmen pour the beer?
hi everyone
Hiya, Helen!
hi helen! Sure they do, nan... you think enable is against beer?
hey chic!
guess so!
hiya sprite!
how are you holding up, helen? *hug*
ok -- back with a new icon and a write-up I found interesting.
(((sprite))) - it's not so bad when i am in complete denial :/
I am going to be around chic! what time you want me on?
hiya mrp!
I don't have yahoo at the moment, but will beg for it for the morning
that bad, huh... my thoughts and prayers go with you. Hope you can trust that this is a process that takes time (way too long, I know) and that you're not stuck somewhere dark and gloomy.
hey helen!! hi jilli and nan et al! nice to see everyone again
You tell me; tomorrow is Bob's birthday, we may or may not go out for dinner or maybe lunch.
Try in your morning, I should be around then for sure.
hi mrp -- you arrived wile I was icon-hunting -- good to see you back!
hi all!
yeah sprite - you're right on the 'way too long' part - so much of it has to do with the shock of the suddeness - thanks for asking though
give mama my love and will be on about 2 hours before flip!
interesting icon story, Jilli...
happy birthday to bob!!!!!
helen, I did not mean it is taking you way too long, just that it is something that takes so much longer to heal than that we want to endure *hug*
Ok I will let herknow that...
btw... how the heck to I get red clothing dye out of other items of clothing!! (annoyed beyond belief!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB!!
thanx, helen!
thanks, chic -- I thought so, and it backs up what helen said at the end of her bio
mrP: bleach perhaps - where the cure may be worse ;)
sorry, mrp but rewashig lightens it some but mostly everything remains pinkish forever...
sprite- that's exactly what i understood you to say, no worries, goodness, i know hardly any time has passed
jili- you are such a dear-heart !!!
anyone ever hear of a couple of musicians called 'Willie and Lobo'?
might have to go to the supermarket (god no!! the lines at checkout are stupid!) and get something spesh...
ok, off for dinner... MIL is insisting we get blotto again tonight!
helen {{{{{{{{{hug}}}}}}}}}
nite, mrp! good to see you again. will look out for you tomorrow!
and i thank you for reading my bio - sometimes i just can't stop writing
nite mrp
good nite mrp :)
ah! the product is called run-a-way!! gets the dye out! thanks for the memory jog girls! see ya all later! kisses all round! hugs hugs hugs to all!!
i've never heard of willie & lobo - country? r&b?
helen, my cousin in England was with the British ambulance corps because he was a conscientious objector and was assigned to Belsen at the end of the war. It shook him to the core and it affected the rest of his life.
actually they bill themselves as Gypsy Bugaloo, including Spanish guitar, jazzy suff and salsa too.
don't even try, helen, it makes good (though sad) reading and tells us a little bit of where you are atm. I couldn't agree more about the terrible things of that war being done to so many groups of people.
love to you and your family helen... prayers are with you all! Bye for now
bye MrP
bye mrP
ty mrp
jili - my mom was in a german pow camp at the end of the war - was liberated by brits - yay for brits! yay for you cousin, i guarentee you - he changed lives!
we4, I'm not finding any more words now, so I'm bugging out. See you later! Nite all!
sprite - thanks for your encouragement, my heart appreciates you
nite chic
night chic
good nite chic - have a great day tomorrow! (hope your hand will be okay after the b-day spanking)
My cousin ended up as an Oxford don, teaching philosophy.
only wish there was more I could do, helen, than just reaching out and letting you know I think of you.
jili - it's amazing the strength of survivors' character
wow jilli, good for him! He must have inspired many people.
hello everyone
hi lynxxx
aww thanks sprite - yes, i know from sad experience, it will take alot of time - but even a few words of support mean a whole to me
hi lynxx
hiya lynxxx
I don't like reading about war even though my family was not affected the way yours was. Dad was in a Japanese civilian camp from 1941-5. I didn't see him from age 12 to age 22.
My grandparents hid Hannie Schaft during the war and my father was shot through his leg the day before our country was freed, crippling him for life. War and its aftermath has been part of my life too, though not as bad as with you guys.
jili- yes i recall you saying that, it's horrible no matter the time or place - i wonder if a time will ever come when everyone on the planet will in some way or other have been affected enough by war so as to never have another one again
am afraid not, helen, cause war isn't made by the people, but by their leaders :( Hunger for power and such seem to make leaders completely blind to the evidence that war will only cost dearly and never produce any gain.
Helen - that is a very beautiful and wise thing that your parents did - the touching head and heart - I shall remember this
I play bridge every week with a Dutch lady who secretly helped British airmen find their way back to England at great risk to her life. Her husband pretended to be an SS officer and was eventually found out and sent to a concentration camp.
lynxxx - thanks, that warms my soul :)
they are heros, jilli, truly.
jili - that is amazing - yes, she is a hero
Oh, there are millions of such heroes, of course.
Jill - I never knew that about her - what an amazing lady
yes, there are, and many payed a huge price. But I am really glad that there are so many people who are willing to risk everything, rather than let evil win.
at the very start of the war, the germans took my mom (17) back to germany, in shackles, to work in the fields - she did that for 2 weeks & then let them know she could speak, read & write german, so they 'transferred' her to work in an office in berlin
in berlin she got involved with the underground & did a lot of 'paper-passing' to get people out of germany - after her 2nd gestapo interrogation, where they beat her up pretty bad, she got out too
flosey, she is indeed amazing
i guess this is the chatterboz
x
then she 'worked' in france & italy - passing information, sometimes weapons
I think even nowadays even the younger generations know what is referred to when people talk about The War.
really tough choices and breaks for someone so young, helen - another true hero.
at the end, she made her way back to poland & was in warsaw for the ghetto uprising - she said when the bombers came, she & her friend huddled against a building, after the smoke cleared, she saw her friend's one leg was completely gone
Hi there jeff
Helen, your mother is a true heroine too
Hi there jeff
at the end, she made her way back to poland & was in warsaw for the ghetto uprising - she said when the bombers came, she & her friend huddled against a building, after the smoke cleared, she saw her friend's one leg was completely gone
lol hi
hiccup time
trying to figure out the game
hi jeff
Jeff is an 'online' bridge friend
hi jeff
howja do, jeff
Hi
we must have played for about 4 or so hours tonight
basically, jeff: ignore the pretty intense chat for the moment, scroll down and hit the link of Angelsong's page. You will find a lot of helpful tips there, and welcome :)
\
ty (:
jeff- everyday we have an 'icon theme' today it is holocaust memorial day - tomorrow it will be hotels, the conversation will not be such a bummer then
will probably be about holidays :) Some great tips to be expected, I'd say
helleo
hey lady
um word count please
1 for me
Also Jeff, if you click on Lickety's Babble Clues (bottom of this page) it gives the first 2 letters of each word found in the grid
184, lady
hiya herinfern!
cool illl be back later\
do the letters have to be bordering one another?
im playing something else at the mo but i have to cook soon then this
yes
they do, jeff, and they can be used only once per word
like amulnae
i get it now
i will win!!!
LOL
kidding
you will, jeff :)
you have it, just rearrange those letters a bit
jeff - no, i am laughing cause you put a great word in the chat, tx
lol
we only give clues to words in the chat, not the actual words themselves - although lots of people do so by accident every day
i spelled it wrong anyway lol
yeah, but that is because of the stupid design of the site since the big update: after you put a message in the chatbox, the cursor will remain there. So you enter a word after each post, lol.
lol
and i am dyslexic - LOL cause it looked good to me, haha
Im at 107 words
is that good?
I have seen stranger words being valid here :D
that's great for a first time, jeff!
yes - that's amazing
how long till it switches
look at the number just above the right hand corner of the grid
switches at midnight your time
24 hours per grid
anyone get the 9 letter yet???
not me
yep -- sprite did and now I have it
yes, I did
Hello everyone!!!
hiya voll
hi volley
hey Dee
leak
Hi Volley
oops
thanks helen ;)
np
none of us is completely waterproof, helen :)
Great to see you all. Hope you had a good week.
it starts with ro jeff
not really, Dee, but babble helped to keep me something remotely resembling sane
Hi everyone. How's it going?
147 now
Hi Ang
I hear you sprite; it sure is a highlight of my day!
hi ang
oh dear, sprite -- what went wrong?
hey Angb! Pretty high klingon word rate in this grid, bu otherwise ok ;) How are you doing?
jeff -- you're amazing!!!
hi angb!
greetings all
hey taz
hi taz
Slow - patiently working on all the 4 letter words. My excuse for not seeing anything longer LOL
good morning all - end of the week sure comes quick
hey helen hey sprite
Hi taz, ursh
hi ursh
hi taz, hi ursh
jilli: company doctor demanded I'd see some other doctor that they want to work with and it is messing everything up we've been working on so far... but either that or lose my job.
hi ursh
hi jill hi ang
Hi Taz & Ursh
what does the number beside your point total mean
sprite - that's rotten, crazy!
oof, sprite!!! Hope it works out ok!
hi lynxxx
sprite that is awful
can anyone please clue the en 5/12
jeff, I don't know which number you mean...
I try to view it as a training in staying with myself and setting out my own way no matter what - not easy, since part of the problem is ptss.
jeff: average word length of the words you found so far
oh, THAT number!
sprite - you're ever the positive one :)
hehe, mine's 4.54
LOL - i don't believe i've ever noticed that # before
helen, thanks for saying that!
jili - you beat me - i have 4.36
4.57 here, but I found all the biggies
LOL Jilli - as I said earlier I am working on the 4 letter words - mine is 4.39. Damn I must have snuck in a couple of longer ones
4.86
but helen, I bet you've got a lot more words than I have! Only 35 here
geez - i feel like such a loser :(
You're the bee's knees jeff
actually, the last time that # had any meaning was before there were any stats. We used it then to check if we had not just the same amount of words, but also the same words :)
seriously jili? yes i have 97
Helen, you are just a late developer
and, well, jeff is out of my league -- waaaay ahead
helen! The average length does not say anything about how many words! Actually, if one has all the biggies and only a few smaller ones, the average is high and you have still a LONG way to go, LOL
can anyone please clue the en 5/12
good point sprite!
sorry, ruthy -- don't have any e words yet
Haven't got it ruthy - but jeff might. Jeff?
not there yet ruthy
I'd say enaff is enaff, but it does not work
i don't have it
en 5/12 -- body cavity flush
lol sprite!
hey BabbleRabble
We weren't ignoring you ruthy, we just didn't know! Except for Babble
found it, thanks BabbleRabble
Babble - toilet doesn't start with en
sorry babble still dont get it
hiya babrab
lol and i still dont know it
TY BabbleR - and Hi
it ends in the one that gave you birth
hi babrab
ty babbler and hi
Everyone is talking a foreign language this evening. Time for caffeine I think
ty got it
Hi MVA
Thanks again sprite and babrab
hi mva
if ro9 is singular to ro8, why isn't st7 valid as singular of st6/18?
because this game is insane
that is the best explanation I have ever heard :D
i don't know, but that was a good enough clue for me to get the 9 sprite, thanks & now i have to figure out what the st is that you're referring to
it is part of the 8, helen. But the st7 is NOT valid, alas, only the 6.
got them all, now did you have any other interesting questions about the grid, sprite? ;)
helen and sprite must be geniuses i do not know what they mean and how they get it so fast lol
lol helen! Like why there are so very few english words today?
lol
I effen wish effen wuz a word
i was thinking that sprite and helen are talking in a language i don't know!
so do I, jilli, lollll. MVA: we do, it is called klingon :)
good one jili!
note to self, learn klingon!
and those skinny models are unfat, aren't they?
erm morning all...did i read that a 9 is a singular to an 8?
yep -- hi rolin
hi rolin
hi rolin
hi rolin
ooookay....
ok, internationally known and used words: m4/6, m5/12 and 6/21, pa5/12, pe6/21, u5/12, w4/10 (as in w4 bam thank you ma'm). A4/7 hebrew letter klingon: practically all the rest Hi rolin: yes :)
1146 pts
no jili, they're not, but the are not very proficient
wtg jeff!
thanks and LOL sprite!
uh, excuse me, but i cannot live without a good st5/18 & i know i've ordered it abroad
ok, let's add that to the list :)
rockin jeff!
Of the 47 words I've got only about 5 are klingon
at least you know what you are looking for then, jilli :)
mull
oops (48)
not very klingon, but valid!
ooh yes..i found a fishy 7..
i must know more klingon than i thought because ive managed to reach 96 words!!
i'm at 120 & have only 3 grey boxes
you all have the pe7 that rhymes with grownups? And related 6.
gonna change some luandry, brb
no, and it's a puzzler to me (rhymes with grownups?)
jilli second to last
with another word for grownups
How many times are those lu 4 words repeated in this grid. Completely blinding me
helo again
once again multi tasking
wb lady
ty sprite
hi heri\
i am reading devilspanties.keenspot.com
hello tax
hi her
opps taz
*trying to think of another word for grownups that isn't adults*
waves back
that's the one, jilli
Good morning all.
breakfast calls, bbl, have fun!
enjoy, MVA
morning Haz
hi Haz
see ya MVA
any hints pls on the 8 or 9?
cya mva
o fer petes sake, sprite -- got it.
almost klingon
lol jilli
1605
mmmm
yay jeff!
I'm "monkeying"
you sound like a pro already, jeff :)
type every possibility
darn it i am over stimulated
how many words do you have, jeff?
good morning everybody:)
hey jean
ello
138
hi jean
jeff, you're a wonder!
Hi jean
really impressive, jeff. You must have a huge knowledge of words.
jeff got the 8 or 9 letter word i need a hint pls
just a monkeyer
Good morning jean.
yes i have both
one himt pls
ro + latin for stars = ro8. Latin plural for the 9.
ok..kinda rhyms with hostel
lol then add a few letters
taz -- Think of Marlon Brando and Streetcar. Add it to the ro for the 8
to5/18: absolutely klingon. Ends in the only thing I hate about babble.
Clue for the Aussies - ro 8 is parrot native to SE Australia and Tasmania but insert a t in the word
ty guys will look
WOW -- got that, Sprite, just because I know you!
morning all, clue for an6 please
:) I thought that might work, jilli :)
morning oggy:)
thanks ang
No prob her
arum
got it too - TY Sprite
Change the ending to a hesitation for the 9 her
sprite - your clue for the ro9 is misleading in that the ro9 is the singular in latin, the ro8 is the plural.
sorry
that to word is pretty fishy
that is what I said, Haz. 8 plural, 9 singular
ty all got the ro
eppp n o im lost
my final word S6/21: greeting, but change first vowel. Has probably something to do with dissolving.
brilliant clue sprite - went straight to it
yw :)
Haz have you found the ro9 yet?
Yes, I have, Flask.
Ok....met too....lol
Morning all!
yes, me too, sprite -- great clue again
arts
hi flask
hi flask
any more clues needed before I run off to sudoku?
ty sprite
have a good sudoku, if that's possible (I hate sudoku)
More into words than into numbers, jilli? :)
sorry about that slip a minute ago
I'm off too - grid blindness setting in. Nite all
anyone get a en word???
I don't get it either Jilli
right going to dash bbl happy babbling everybody:)
by angb ty
night angh:)
Bye Jean
by jean
I don't do numbers, and I don't do mornings :)
ah, but you do mornings, jilli! Only from the other end ;)
right you are, sprite - lol!
grrr im back, when it comes to food nothing in the word solves problems like either, parmasan cheese, cheese or sauce
I am off then. Have a great day/night/whatever all of you and thanks for the great chat.

nope its just funny that im typping in 'made up' words and its working
at times i have poor spelling and today its paying off
hi all. hehe, just found a seven... bad hairstyles!
hi ornith!
Hi Ornith ...and its starts with ...?
um ornith business at the frount party at the back
with mu, lynxxx
right-o herin
Lynxx bogans wear flannies and have ?
Oh, that fish!
yep, my hairdresser friend says, "friends don't give friends mu7."
mmmm whats worse a male mu or a fem mu?
definitely the female version!
i agree
here in Philly I keep seeing black women walking around with these bizarre ones made of extensions!
i just figured out your icon, ornitholestes, right?
mmm i agree, Good god why? my mates bro was known as the 'white bro with a fro' it was darn impressive
is there really a dinosaur called that? heh! actually it's from somewhere that someone thought an ornithopter was a dinosaur
It's right here, i actually spelled it right too... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ornithole stes
A nd something similar Ornithorhynchus Blumenbach a platapus
how odd.
platapus lay eggs and are mamals thats odder
yeah, platapi are weird! and silly looking too
yep
not cuddly either the males have a posionus barb on the feet
amazing what mother nature comes up with.
I think mother nature went to australia and got really high or something!
rofl ornith!
and gave us posionus things more than anywhere ese
we have echidnas that lay eggs 2
Australian critters: "but mom, everyone's going to laugh at us" Mother Nature: "here you go"
"now if they laugh, you just sting them"
that's cute
yay, made it to halfway
wtg ornith!
almost all the long ones left for tomorrow though
monotremes is what platapus and echnidas are
orinth its just the males that have barb but we also have drop bears
drop bears?
drop bears, big vicious and likely to eat you when they drop out of a tree
woah
that sounds like some goofy D&D monster
you've been munching on too many eucalyptus leaves infernal
i didn't think koalas were vicious. :-)
Koalas do bite but its a great one to get unsuspect people with
Only if you try to cuddle them Fran
Koalos also sound like a pig being squashed
lol herin
....LOL - but only the males when they are mating!
and yes ornith d20 modern has one
I was thinking more like owlbears!
lol, australia sounds like fun
um it is
this is a drop bear
http://www.wizards.com/d20modern/image s/mm_gallery/51679_CN.jpg
its a two part if the link only picks up one line
that's one ugly koala
lovely infernal
well, it's getting late, 59 left for tomorrow. good night people!
yep thats the dropbear for you, its from d20 modern menace art gallery
fran this stops people from thinking about roaming the bush at night
Nite Fran - I'm about to do the same. Bye everyone
i thought the dingoes were enough. :-)

Hey Haz
HI Haz

A clue for the AR5/10 would finish my As..at last.
Was somebody complaining about new words?
Nonnie, I just read your profile..very heartbreaking...I am reading a book "The Lost" by Daniel Mendelsohn about the events that is described in your profile
ar5/10 = a consortium of drug dealers is a car***, drop that c.
this would be the grid for it, if they were. ;-)
congrats, charm
ar plus the start of William, who lends his name to an overture and who was a dab hand with bow and arrow
ar+short word for phone
congrats charm
I hadn't heard of that book, Annie. I'll have to check it out.
congrats charm
charm - the 3rd fe 5/16 please?
TY, there are some seriously weird words today!
Nonnie, I can't put it down

Good afternoon everyone.
ty jfb and I agree
afternoon jac!
Hello Jacula!
JFB, agree, agree, agree
JFB, I suggest reading "The Lost" by Daniel Mendelsohn....it is a fairly new book
Annie, your icon is so beautiful. It is one of the best pics I've seen of the northern lights
Nonnie, I like it very much also..a confession...I have a heck of a time changing icons so I am happy that I have one I like
One of the sweetest women I have ever known was a survivor who lost all her family. She was smuggled to England and ended up as a district nurse in Cornwall
Hi, all
Hi pam.
hi pam
Hi pam
JFB, terrible tragedy.......hi pam
Hello pam.
jfb is she still living?
Hi, annie, haz, jfb , nonnie, and jac
such a "deep" chat! The Lost is on my desk as a soon-to-be-read book
No she died early last year in her late 80's
ah, bless her heart. I'm glad for you that you got to know her. People who survive such horrible things and still turn out to be such wonderful human beings are the ones who help to put everything into perspective for me.
ok, bbl, just dropped in for a taste of the grid!
bye pam
'Bye Pam.
pe6&7 please
pe6 - begins the second to last word and pe7 is its plural.

Kind words, Haz. I think I'll try to boost them with coffee. Cappuccinno, anyone?

JFB come and do mine please
*Jac brings in tray of coffees, sets it down hurriedly, tiptoes after JFB to add her own ironing to the pile.*
JFB....a book well worth reading
tx nonnie love them to bits

www.morewords.com - a website that allows you to type in as many letters as you know and it brings up lists of words. I prefer scanning lists to random typing.
tx for the info, Haz. My lists are in the official Scrabble Tournament and Club list... but it doesn't always jive with enable..
Still missing 3 7s.......i have al7, em7, mu7 and ta7......clue me plz
Sometimes morewords has words that enable doesn't accept. You just have to shrug your shoulders and get on with it....
pe7/36, clued a little while ago
well, I am lost if there is a really long word.. many times not on my book list.
ru7/32 - a fast walk combines with a word of permission (plural)

Anyway, back to the grid for you!

Think I'll take a break and come back to it.
Oh dear - and the grid does need concentration. Come back to it when you're feeling more in the mood.

i agree kazzer.... can't, won't do that
good morning cybernan
Hi nan
would someone please explain the icon changing for me.
I just realised I didn't change my icon - have now
every day has a theme and you can change your icon to match it
where do i find the theme for the day?
Go to 'my account', click on your icon, choose a new icon and download it
thanks adhg
find a square photo. go to my account, click on edit under the photo phrame. use browse to find your photo, click open ,click upload, click F5 to refresh.
oops
oh i know how to change it, but how do i find out what the theme of the day is?
it's on lickety's babble page
The themes are listed in Angelsong's page under "community", also in Babbler's bio.
find Babbler on the player's list -- add her to My Friends -- she is the icon theme guru
If you make Babbler your Friend, she has the themes on her profile every day, or go into rankings and find her there
tx i just noticed the my friends button
how do i add friends?
i have used lickety's clues, but never explored the website. i am just doing that now and i'll catch up with y'all later. thanks for your help.
can anyone help with the an 6. I'm officially at my wits end
When Babbler is on line, (she isn't at the moment), you can make her your friend by clicking onto her name
an6/21 - an + opp of urban minus first letter
holy smokes! I've got 47 words, and i think i knew 3 of them before I started this grid. lol
thanks Vicuina. Only right in front of my face.
think I'll need lickety's list for this one -- totally stuck with 59 to go!
Well, frankly it could be dancing on my nose and I still wouldn't have thought it was a word until someone told me!
OK. I need help because I need to go to bed. My daughter just came out for a drink and told me to go to bed - its after 1.30am
Need help on any particular words, or need an intervention with this addiction?

If all the Babblers used babble words every day no-one else would understand us!!
that would be sort of fun
like a secret language
we wouldn't understand each other either, would we/
how is that different from the way it is now?
half these crazy babblets... i've learned to enter them in the grid, i recognize them but I couldn't use them cause i don't ever bother to remember what they mean
the government would be after us thinking we were aliens
aren't we?
That is the slight snag with the plan! But we'd recognise a fellow babbler
true... like spies oooooo
and our names would all be Maxwell Smart
or Ilya Kuriakin { showing age as she speaks}
nepoleon solo

FIREWORKS!:-)
YAY Jacula
Well done Jacula!
HOORAY FOR JACULA
Thanks.
Had trouble finding that last al6/21 because I was going from the top 'a' instead of the bottom 'a'.
pe7 - Think of a word that means next to last (beginning with a writing instrument), take off the last letters, plural it
Symmetry has its disadvantages, Jacula.
pe 7 is the plural of the pe 6 --- ball point pe* + david koresh was the leader of a c***
Hmm - please don't mention symmetry. Paul asked me to cut his hair for him earlier and it seems I've removed his sideburns.:(
any clues for pe6/21 please?
I'm in trouble now! LOL.
oh duh... i got the 6.24... sleep deprived and half asleep here. i should nap when the bab y naps... but i don't... i babble
Well, did you ever say that you were a professional hairdresser?
flosey - pe6/21 is car fuel.
who me?
oh, thanks Jacula
Haz - No! I used to be a Saurday girl in a hair salon many moons ago but that's all.
My last word ul 5/14 -- any clues?
*Saturday girl
He can't expect perfection - anyway, it could be a new trend. Let him be thankful you didn't inflict a mu6.
THEN he could complain.
un - not able, not likely
what's a saturday girl?
arb: the firlt RU4.5 - first letter + opposite of pa
ARB - u + start of yellow citrus fruit (***)+ vowel.
Saturday girls just work on Saturdays to earn a little pocket money.
LOL, Haz.
don't do hair though, so whatta they do???
(re the mu6.)
ty Jac, ADHD. FIREWORKS
un6/30 please
They sweep up hair, wash hair, chew gum and look bored.

Haz - I was always too busy to be bored.
un 6 -- without sensation
ok, got it now...i don't get no saturday girls, i must tip too well
thanks Babrab
I was, Haz! Had big pockets on my overall - always full of tips.
Did you get to hear all about people's woes?
Yup.
Got their good news, too.
And did you sew especially big pockets on your overalls?
No, LOL. The overalls came made like that.
good day all. i have the ro 8. is the 9 any kind of extension, can't figure it
I just had this mental image of you with enormous pockets, bowed down under the weight of all the change.
I must go. Paul's making his delicious (home-made) pizzas tonight and it smells like they're ready.
Haz - LOL.
magzel - the ro9 is a latin singular. Along the same lines as stadium versus stadia...
*Heads off in direction of kitchen, drooling at wonderful cooking smells.* See you, folks. Happy Babbling!
Enjoy your pizza, Jacula. Glad the babble brain got sorted out (at the expense of symmetry, though)
ro 9 --same first 7 as the 8 + beat the dr**s slowly

You're welcome, magzel.

Hello jbp. It is challenging but not impossible.
coming from you, Haz, i guess that means i should put on my magic helmet

There are quite a few words never encountered before, so an explorer's hat would be useful.

good morning Stid
stid - it's hanging at the top of the stairs in my house. would look better in front of a window, but iwth the mirror it seemed like an odd place to put it
I know you really must be proud of him. What did he perform in?
"Bugsy Malone Jr." -- it's a short version of the 1976 movie...
in the 4th column, top row there is an e 3 any hints for any of those? please

hi all.. back from kid patrol. may i have a clue for the 2nd LU 4.5, the last LU 4.5 and the last LU5.12? pretty please?

the 2nd LU4 is the moon

sharons, woman's name or greek for star
woman's name, sharon
pe 6 --- writing instument and blue oyster c***... or david koresh lead one and james jones too

ang... let me expound on that: if in doubt, add a UM too the end. lol
ty babble
ummmmm ... think I agree smooth
HA!
I just do what I always do ... when in doubt ... mumble
hey pappa, I checked out that site last night and wow! some very nice things. I really liked the turned wood bowls, art glass and of course the jewelry.
ok... I have been struck by an album... i normally don't care for dave matthews... but I am really into "before these crowded streets" right now.
LOL Babble - I prefer an er mumble than an um mumble in grids
yeah nonnie, there is a lot of variety there! artists from every state, and a couple canadian ones, as well... all handmade pieces
beautiful! My husband has tried his hand at turning bowls. I love the look, feel and smell--call me weird.
am off happy babbling everyone:)

ty lynxxx
jili has a very interesting icon & write-up in her profile along these same lines
helen, my thoughts and prayers are with you
majmom, so + instrument
so6.21 sso + the musical instrument in todays grid
I think when the holocaust is narrowed to refer to the emlimination of jews and jewry, it negates the others who were annihilated and diminishes all of the loss
ty fran
i did not see jilli today
luw - tyvm
ty fran
pam, my bio wasn't posted to negate the loss of any life but I was sharing my personal thoughts feelings. I hope I didn't offend because I certainly didn't mean to.
Nonnie--I haven't read yours yet, I was talking in response to what helen's bio brought out in me. I am sorry if it came off in any other way
nonnie - i don't think your bio is at all offensive - it is extremely moving & touched me profoundly
wow, nonnie... I second what helen just said
ok all, I must be off to try and capture a beautiful scene through a lens... back later!
pam - it is nice to hear your position, i'm afraid it's not a popular one though
ty helen that is exactly the way I felt when I read yours and ty pam

one is a plural, one is an adj

G'd evening Babblers!

So losing songs is worse than losing sideburns!
hi lori
Hello all - just looking in before bedtime. Was your pizza good, Jacula?
hello Haz
Hi Haz. I just read your comment to him... not sure what the answer is, but, if looks could kill...;(((
Hello Biltong.

Haz - Pizza was yummy, thanks.
Oh dear, I'm not on his list of favourite people....
ta7 = ta4/5 + little stomach.
ta7: scotch brand ta** + stomach ***my
Haz - not sure if the look was for you or for me. LOL.
Tell him I'm really sympathetic.
Told him, Haz.

yes to7 is latin ending of to6
clue for the tr please?
He's got one album back on the ipod. Let's hope he can restore the rest!
like the billie goat gruff villain but spelled with different vowel
i don't know that story sry
I hope it works out, Jacula - ipods are temperamental little beasts aren't they??
Jethro T***, the musician with the fl5/18, but add an 'r', ADHD.
t plus what you follow to draw a straight line but replace the last vowel with a double helping of the consonant
got my husband one for xmas, he hasn't even opened it yet
what you pay at a bridge to pass through with different vowel and an r
Haz - Dunno. I don't own one. They seem to be.
ADHD - the present itself, or the box inside??
I'm going by what no 2 daughter has said about hers.
Haz - Ah!
hmmm... the pics are quite as good as I thought... still a couple keepers, though, i think
hi haz, jac, and anyone who's snuck in while I was away
Hello smooth - we sneak in here, we sneak in there....
lol well I have been away for a few minutes... easy to sneak in whilst my back is turned
the Jethro T clue did it tx everyone
...we sneak in... everywhere.
And when you're as small as I am it's easy to sneak in.
hello smooth
Well, done ADHD. Glad you got it.
hey bilt
So now I sneak off! Night!
oooh! photo idea! I've got a pound of parmiggiano reggiano, with the name stamped on the rind, along with a goblet full of dark belgian ale... I feel an idea coming on. lol

bye haz!
Night Haz, sleep well.
nitey nite Haz
I'm off too. Night everyone.
'Night, Biltong.
nite bilt
smooth - sounds interesting. Don't forget to show us the pic.
i am struggling w/the te 4.10 and te 4.6 can somebody help me argh
ADHD - te4/10 = t + sound of 2nd vowel.
and te4/6 = the short-term worker (not permanent).
tx got the 4.6, not the 4.10
why am so dense tonight? i still cannot get the te4.10
think I got it... just a sec...
ADHD - sorry! Wasn't concentrating when I posted 4.10 clue. te + sound of 6th letter of alphabet.
I was thinking about the 'polite' way of swearing badly on the net. Oops.
np got it now
Blame The Sweet. I'm listening to a 'best of' CD at present.
as long as i know i'm not dense lol
Phew! Glad you got it. Incidentally, I asked you earlier if your other half had not opened the present or the box inside with the ipod in it...
he has not opened the box w/the ipod in it. he knows what it is. i got him the accessory "boom box" to go w/it and ear buds and a case... it's still just sitting
any clues for fl 5/24
ADHD - is he a Taurus, like me? If so, he'll glance at it in a suspicious fashion for ages before using it. I was just the same when presented with a microwave oven many, many moons ago.
(Not that I use my present one much even now! LOL.)
he is actually a capricorn, born on new year's eve
I've got the Fireworks at last.
fl 5.24 is pl of the word above it
Ah, same difference, ADHD. My other half's a Capricorn, too.
WELL DONE, WRENNIE!!x
congrats exwren
i need the tu 5.12 and next tu4.5 under it
fl5/24 is never a real word. I sighed hugely when I found it earlier.
capricorns can be difficut, verrry difficult
brb
ty -got it
ahem!
capricorn here!
Apparently, fl5 is the long, dribbly lips bloodhounds etc., have.:/
Capricorns can be moody b*ggers, but no less lovable for that.
hmm i agree my son is a capricorn
so's my daughter
I have spent a lot of time reading profiles this evening, some of the stories were too awful to even consider. Imagine your whole family being taken away at a moments notice to heaven knows where. I have been to the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam, and seen where her family had to hide.
Wren - I didn't put any stories I know (from people I know) up, but I've read many of the others, like yourself. I'm going to Amsterdam for 3 days in April for my 50th birthday treat. I intend to see the bulb fields but the Anne Frank museum is on my list of places to visit, too.
good night all. Everyone have a pleasant evening.
Goodnight, Mom. Same to you.
Thanks Jacula
back... did i miss a clue for the tu5.12 and 4.5 under it?
tu5/12 is the gauzy material bridesmaids' dresses in the 60s often had a lot of.
tu4/5 under it is a fish! Think 'yellow fin...'
tx jac i shoulda known that... as a bride of the 60s
it is actually what bridal veils r made of
why can i get the difficult words and miss the obvious???
the add brain works in mysterious ways lol
ro 8 & 9 please
ro8: ro + girl's name (s6)
ro9: singular ro9
ADHD - it's the law of Babble - you see 'melodrama' but not 'melon'. LOL.
i don't get the girls name
it is an s6
the only s6
s + 'narrate' + first vowel for the girl's name.
s6: the actor gave a s*****r performance
ADHD - re the tu5 - the dresses for weddings in the 60s had it around the shoulders and for underskirting.
yes that too... and today mostly used for crenolins and veils
i am struggling w/ the tw4
Wonder if those big underskirts of the early 60s will ever return, ADHD? Mum and me had a matching pair, white with red polka dots.
Hi all, missing an la4/4 have small street
Gosh, I remember crinolines too!
tw4 = Scottish pair/two (not twain).
hi everyone. v. late for a family function, just need a clue for the an 6/21 please. thanks :)
lol... i was married in 1969 and when i look at the old photos i just laugh and laugh... my kids laugh harder. maybe that's why the marriage only lasted 8 years... too hard to get under all that underskirting, and too scratchy
la 4- mr. ulrich from metallica
ok... changed my icon... this pic was completely set up, and retouched in the last 20 minutes... so forgive anything that doesn't look right
thanks abe but dont know Mr. Ulrich
an6.21: an + great big picture painted directly on a wall - first letter
Am trying hard to think what that underskirted look was called her in UK. Not crinoline, I know.
hi all
fireworks. thanks ADHD. Peri -google him, it will come up right away
yw abe and YAY on the fireworks
ADHD - My other half was BORN in 1969 (he's 12 years' younger than me). I was married in 1977, and the pics from then, huge platform soles etc., make me laugh. Fun times though!
hi peri
peri - it rhymes with places you go to drink alcohol

Hi inge 3 (or is it Mousey)?
Hi inge3 (mousey)
really mousey
yo inge3
le4/7 - opposite of right, peri.
just found it Jacula, thanks
lol jac lolololol. everyone thinks he's much older. I dated him for six months thinking he was older than me. when i found out how old he was i said : "you're twenty WHAT?!"
smooth - the pic, to be honest, was not what I expected from you. I thought you were going to shoot the words on the cheese rind through the glass of ale or something.
ADHD, thanks, got it
ADHD - how come ages weren't discussed for 6 months? If you don't mind me asking?
i would superimpose the glass on the bottle ... maybe play w/the depth perception
im am going to make a new acount
sry to be critical... i am a graphic artist
he knew how old i was, and that i was a single mom. i just never asked... assumed he was much older than me. he was 25
heh, jac... I was thinking a product shot like that, since the glass of ale is black, and wouldn't allow that so much. ;)
can't see the le4/5
I've been trying to practice "stock product" shots, just in case I need that skill.
brb guys... and when i get back please help me finish my last 5. then i will clue till i drop!!!
See you, ADHD.
just a few min.
le4/5, peri = a sort of past tense of 'to leap'.
thanks Jacula, I am tired and my right shoulder is hurting and not seeing the obvious :(
smooth - ah, I see. Well, I'd still like to see the words on the rind seen through the beer ( you can muck about on photoshop with the shade of the beer). LOL.
my new account from inge3
st 6 please
lol true, jac... but in order to get the words visible through the beer, it has to be light to begin with... although, I do have a light britisha ale here, which I might crack open and try.
swam
sorry
2nd lu5/12 please
peri - not you, re the right shoulder as well? I had an x-ray on mine last week, after a falling injury some 6 months ago. Ex's newish wife has also injured same shoulder falling during her first skiing lesson prior to their New Year hol in Finland.

oh, daniel had his first ear infection today
poor kiddo
oh no! my mother used to put a warm damp washcloth on the ear that hurt... (I still do it when I have an earache)
smooth - 'sexy' is the tag when selling food or drink these days - check out the British Marks & Sparks food ads (TV ads, that is).
Hello
stid - he's on the 'phone.
Hi Yoink.
btw, mousey has been having "fun" with new accounts, was a regular troll earlier today... :-(
thanks Jac -- brb
so4/4 like cola but change first 2 letters
oh, good idea. he was just miserable all morning. clingy, cuddly, whining, not wanting to play. i started asking him if his ear hurt early, as he held it once or twice, and had a sudden cold. Finally around 9:30am he said "ouchie" about his ear, so i brought him in. it was hard to know what to do at first, since he's never had one before! i had a suspicion, but wasn't sure.
any clue for lu6/21
I have a 'don't feed the troll' icon at hand, stid.
oops, brb, bath is done.
yes, my kids didn't get ear infections but once or twice...
LOL Jacula! keep it handy!

Sorry, is there a te4/10?
some people dont like to chat because .....ther are some rude people but not you guys
Hi stid, am I the only one hungering for more STORY??

hi feather
Ping, are you done, or do you need clues?
i'm just starting, inge, but thanks for the offer
i'm just starting to. have a whopping 3 words!

Featherbee, I think Ping prefers "sing"
i'm ahead with 40!
it doesn't flow for me so far
fa la la la
hehe
i have only 4 letter words

ha, beat ya, i have one 5. musical instrument.
yay dan!
I am taking a break to check email bravi dan2bit
yay dan!
hmm i'll look for it
Hello folks
hi leslie
hi leslie - long time no c
no kidding - new years apparently, from the look of my icon :)
what's the theme today?
ooooh, got a 6 ping! it's a brit term for what makes a car go, starts with PE
thanks feather
i don't know the theme
holocaust memorial day
Or 'Hotels' if you are in UK and it's now Sunday 28th Jan.
none of our icons quite fit that theme
hi jac
I'm still on holocaust, btw.
hi jac
featherbee's does, you get those flowers when you google it
Hi feather. I've been here all the time, just got diverted by an over desk discussion. LOL.
need clues for the ta7 and the to7 please
that exact picture? or just crocus in general?
oh, it is not the exact one, but it looked like one that popped up on google images
ahhh! i was wondering, since those are my mom's flowers from her garden, and i couldn't see how they'd show up on a google search!
especially one on that topic
right
button, i'm just starting - have neither of those yet
here is the one that popped up: http://www.solomonia.com/images/april0 4/PICT0288.JPG
so you can see how i made the mistake with the little icon
ta 7-- start with the ta 4/5 (adhesive) and add the area of your your navel, shortened
Button - ta7 = ta4/5 + small stomach or child's description of stomach.
yep, i see it!
thanks, br
Button - to7 is Latin plural of to 6.
is Shorty still in the chatroom?
ta7 = Ryan O'Neil's daughter (from 'Paper Moon') with a 'pe' in the middle.
to 6- pastry: to*te and ov***tion (forming an egg) then latin plural
got the to one Jacula, thanks
I just need the ta 7 to finish the grid
jac clued at 7:39 and 7:41, button
one left to fireworks
thanks for that one too, br
Button - have you seen my Ryan O'Neill clue ('Love Story' actor) yet, re his daughter?
Hi LeslieAnn - married life still suiting you?
still good jac!
yw, Ping
I saw the clue JACULA, don't know about the movie, did not see it...I have the first four letters, it is the last three that i am needing to finish
I was watching a programme over here in UK with a bride in it about 2 weeks' ago - the bride was you double, LeslieAnn! I remarked to Paul about it at the time, and then we went and checked that great wedding video of yours out again. Can't remember what damned programme it was now though. Drat!
stomach, button
the last three letters, that is
oooh, mysterious evil twin perhaps
ta 7/40 -- adhesive and to s***ble and fall
br clued it too, button
T**, te, t**, singing here. Sort of.
FIREWORKS
hooray button!
Well done, Button!
yay for buttonman!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks all for the clues...have to study to teach my Bible Class tomorrow morning...see you all later
bravo, buttonman
bye button
LA - I wouldn't say evil. LOL. I love that wedding video of yours though. I'll be gutted if I can't get it re the photograhper's site soon. It's the most honest and true video I've ever seen. I love it.
aww thanks jac. i got him to give us a copy along with the pics :)
thanks to you, Jacula, I have picked put my hotel for tomorow!!!
*out
where you going, inge?
LA - just loved all the candid getting ready beforehand pics, and the UB40 guys with the sunglasses and cigarettes. Brilliant! If I could have a copy some time to show a would be photographer should I (EVER) decide to marry again...
not going anywhere, getting my icon ready
oh haha
Inge - I haven't put my hotel pic up yet??
will do, jac, i'll keep it around for you. :) although the "drinking glasses" were entirely the boys' idea ;)
Not Colditz, is it, Inge??
I haven't either. But you posted taht taht was the new theme effective in GB already
No, I am going to northern Michigan's Gradn Hotel for my icon
what is Colditz, jacula? I just knew a professor by taht name, and some German general
LA - my favourite frame was him catching you from behind and you laughing. Lovely, natural photo.
Oh dear! Drunken youths passing by out front. Strange 'whoaing' sounds at sight of me, then a thump. Think they all crashed into each other and fell over. LOL.
haha you have quite an effect on the drunks, eh jac?
inge - Colditz is the POW camp the Germans put prisoners of war into. The old camp was supposed to be turned into some sort of hotel.
So I heard.
I just looked it up on Google. Didn
didn
t know it was to become a hotel
taking a break - i'll be back
see ya later, ping!
LA - when on holiday in Westward Ho! (in North Devon) about 2 or 3 years' ago, I was innocently sunbathing in a flesh coloured bikini behind a deckchair when, unbeknown to me, a coachload of schoolkids drove past. Paul (my other half) told me the coach almost fell over as all the lads piled to 'my' side to see 'the naked lady'. ROFLOL. Glad I didn't know at the time or would have died of horror.
hello. i'm quite new here. is there a way to check on the word list of the day before so i will know which words i missed?
Haha! that's a good one, jac
hi all - jac your up late - its 2am in england!
Any clues for the ro 8 and 9 people?
pururutus, i think there is, but i don't remember how
sigh... thanks, leslieann
you can check the arhives for previous days solutions - box above the chat log
sandr - I do know the time. LOL. Usual way to get the time is to do what the lads who were just outside my house did... make a load of noise and then someone is sure to open an upstairs window and yell, 'It's ** 0'clock in the morning!'
Jac, it's early, don't listen to them
thanks, sandr
lmao jac - I'm suffering from insomnia and only have 20 or so words to go
ah, thanks sandr, i knew it was around here somewhere
no problem pururutus
Hi Yoink. That's true.x
so ehats you excuse yoink?
Hi sandr - I know the feeling. Mine's not 'can't sleep' but hot flushes wake me up every hour or so on the hour.:(
sandr, mainly alcohol
haha!
yoink, how many fingers am i holding up?
make mine a double?!
52?
pururutus - welcome to Babbleonia.
so 6/21? 11 to go...brane go squish...eyes crossing...arr
what kind of freak do you think i am??
wait, don't answer htat
a 52 fingered freak
sorry bonkler - need that one too - also my brain has been squishy for long time
hmmm, that is a good answer though
the thing is yoink - if you need one over the eight to see doble - how many have you had to see 52!
Yoink - it was a trick question! LA actually has 104 digits flashing. (She's lying on her back showing her toes and fingers.) Naughty minx (as my O/H would say).
**double even! (might have insomnia but can't type)
all right, people, fun's over, i do not have 100 digits
G'd evening again babblers!
I've had several, and there's no sign of stopping until I can finish this grid. But I can't see how there's a te4/10
would make typing either easier or more confusing! talk about playing twister
Samdr - please don't talk squishy organs - I had a mammogram 2 days' ago.:(
haha i would be the best mathematician ever
Back for the 3 rd time in what I hope will be uninterrupted Babbling....
hello lori
lol - jac - they can be uncomfotable to say the least....a necessary evil
yoink - te = double high scoring consonant
May I add, I think the ru 6 is a silly word.
Oh, feather! Twister is just cheating now! LOL. There are even duvets with that on. We'll all do our backs in, if we try that. ROFLOL.
pleace clue the ru6 lorip
my typing is deteriorating - if thats possible!
ok, got the list, let's see what's left....
Hi everyone! firewords
so6/21, btw, Bonkler is what a soldier does to an officer but with a different vowel in 2nd letter place.
thanks sandr, couldn't see it for trying
hello and congrats, lb!
ru = haster than a jog + salad has ***tuce in it
congrats lbd!
jac! my monkey and i so 6/21 you. thanks
Congrats lb!

oh, and plural on that, lorip
in that case lorip - i thinl its silly too! thanks
How's everyone this evening?

Well done, bonkler.
Hi lbd.

nu4/5 & void is in the grid though.
yep, have that one!
yw sandr. Great, isn't it? :-)
Oh dear, more drunken youths going past window. Sounds like someone fell off a skateboard this time.
evening all can some one clue the ta7 please
hi knitter
where do u live jac? youth central
I just pulled curtains back and waved to them. Stupid s*ds!
lol
No, Sandr. In a small village in semi-rural Worcs.
zee fierwerks are mine haha!
HI AK! what you do to a package to seal it + a word to describe your stomach (three letters)
ta 9: ta 4/5 + ***mu ( what child calls its stomach)
lol, congrats bonkler
i'm from west yorkshire - u must be a posh southerner then!
whooo hooo Bonkler
Congrats bonkler!
Hi Inge
hoooray bonkler!
***my not ***mu
yeah bonkler
now to uncross my eyes, maybe soak them in a glass of warm water. cheers all
ty for the clues --- weird word
sandr - EXCUSE ME! I'm a midlander not a southerner!
Hi lbd, I keep wanting to go to bed, have trouble pulling myself out of the caht room
that must be difficult, with that one eye and all, bonkler
night bonk
G'nigt bonkler
have fun gang. i may come back later to clue
anything south of barnsley os southern! do you have a brummie accent then (tee hee)
night bonkler
(Note to our USA friends - there's a huge difference between being 'a southerner' and a midlander.)
lol poor Inge
yeah - southerners are softies!
Good evening everyone :)
I think our British friends are getting personal with each other. Good night, all. *POOF*
good night inge, hello geek
night Inge
15 words to go
:)
hi geek
go sandr go!
no inge - no offence is meant - i am teasing that is all
sandr - I do actually, since I was born in Birmingham. However, not 'Brummie' enough for one 'Net friend'. When he first spoke to me on 'phone he was most disappointed that I sounded 'posh'. He wanted me to do a 'Marlene' accent (which is actually Wolverhampton, not Birmingham). I obliged, eventually. LOL.
Go sandr!
well, sandr, if there is one person i know who takes offense easily, it's jac
inge! This is UK humour! No need to go. We aren't that 'PC'. In fact, most of us think 'pc' is a load of....
i'm going to bed...just can't figure out how to change the ending of the 8 to make it the 9
my friend from uni comes from rugeley - i am assured that that is definately the midlands. can tiu say dudley and wolverhampton for me - with just the right cadence?!
feather, what you say when you can't think of anything to say (two different letters entirely)
ahhh! thank you! ok, night all!
yo yo babbler buddaroos
LA - what are you on about re the offence?
g'night feather
Hi,I'm tootie wheres hodagg?
night feather. Hey Nutty
te 4/5 first one please
i'm just kidding, saying i don't take you for being easily offended
i know a tootie, she was a real pip
te agroup of players are a te--
a group who works or plays together is a te** AK
If I have ever taken offence at what you or anyone else from other side of the pond has said it is due to cultural differences.
oh no - we all typing at cross purposes! everyone stop - am opening bottle of champagne - get glasses ready
Heck!
wait for the pop
an6 clue, please?
nut i think you are missing a "repeat" in your icon
......POP...........
I'm chatting happily and I've still caused trouble. How?
*holds up glass*
what what???
Hi Babblers...is the room safe tonight? I would not want to run into any nuts or rens or stimptys..
an+ russian mountain range
hey, i didn't make it...i just stole it
ty dawg
can't believe i missed that te word
*tackles smdnjv*
gotcha
Hi smd. it's not as whacky as it was last night but it's still early
yw TO
Oh No!! I thought sure the room was sane tonight!!
I'm ready for a glass! Wish hodagg was present as I know her well!!
anyone care to give me feedback on this?: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e309 /smooth_pappa/winterluminescence.jpg
Hi lbd!! How are you today?
doing pretty good smd. and you?
fine thk you Easy grid today!!
that's a keeper smooth
the green makes it
going to check it out now smooth
think so nutty?
thanks dawg
and thanks nutty
it filled top to bottom and i was thinking what? then i saw the green and i was all about it.
came back for a second.... what is the green smooth?
My other half is from Walsall. Walsall, as is Brierley Hill etc. is technically in Staffordshire. These days, due to voting areas, they and we in Brum (Warwickshire) and me now in, well, where I am just over border in Worcestershire, all count as 'West Midlands' on some lists.
smooth pappa--such a rich (and richly colored) stream. I love it, and wonder if you manipulated it to add that deep green in the midst of winter?
does that work with the snow and brown? I mean it's all natural, but it does look pretty out of the ordinary... feather, it's just a lot of algae in a pristine creek near my aprtment
Hey someone tell hodagg tootie was asking about her she'll giggle!
worcestershire like in the sauce?
wow! i couldn't tell if it was algae or something you retouched. i do like the composition very much, and the green makes the viewer question and think about the photo
smooth that is really neat! and yeah, the green really does something to catch the eye.
yes smooth...to me it seems like the algea is what it's all about, and in a more colorful photo it would have been overlooked.
thanks book, but nope... I mean, I manipulated it a bit, to give it a softer feel, and to take out some glare on the water, but that green is natural
thanks guys! I'll put it on my website. :)
hey again everyone
thanks feather!
it's almost other worldly
Hi HK
hi hk!
i'm back 2
Hey Ping
it's a party!
I've shot that same place in the summer and fall, as well... and like you said nutty, the algae is still visible, but without the stark contrast, isn't quite as outstanding
hi ping
Smooth, I recommend it highly. As a teacher, I wonder about the relationship of ecosystem health, global warming, etc..... where is your website?
hi ping!
i like the reflection of that tree in the middle, and how the water curves off to the left. very nice.
only 82 to go
hi helen
sorry guys - laptop went way screwy - now whose for champers?
hi TO, LBD, Smooth, hk
yeah, I didn't want a completely lifeless straight line... that curve adds a lot for me
lapped ya ping, 69 left. but i'm quitting now i think. i had quit a few minutes ago, but came back.
*raises hand* a little hair of the dog for me...
go Ping go! champers all around sandr!
*corks popping*
go feather!
In Pennsylvania here, my middle school capture data of our last, drinking water safe, stream as part of our watershed, and we are getting ready to update our data again this spring
who said this grid was easy? not fo rme i don't seem to be able to see any mroe words...
smooth, if it ever gets cold enough to freeze that creek, that would be a cool pic to see too.
where were you standing to get the shot? it appears like you're in the middle of the water!
......glasses handed around..............nibbles anyone
i'm struggling with it too, TO
i didn't say that TO. it's not an easy grid. lots of odd words!
lbdawger, I agree.
extra large glass for me brummie mate Jac
I was on a brisge, crossing the stream
ahhh!
What on earth is the le 5/12 please?
duh, didn't think there'd be a bridge for some reason
but using a very wide angle lense to give a lot of coverage
it wouldn't load for me, smooth : (
have you checked the list yet, feather
did you get both lines copied, TO?
to, you probably have to c&p the second line too
the first le5 is a plural the second is stupid. it's the four above it with a vowel at the end
yep ping
even if you highlight both, it will only paste one line at a time
i'm too tired to finish. daniel's had his first ear infection today.
Hello everyone...
Sorry, smooth, long website name. Tyed it but it wasn't found.
ouach! sorry feather
i'm about to do it, 80 is kind of early
HI Feather, hi Ping, Hi Bookwyrm
hi douglas!
First word of the title of a Paul McCartney song...think it over...
oh poor baby Daniel. keep his ear covered with a warm cloth
feather, hard to believe daniel has avoided them for so long
it's part of my photobucket account
I like the photo smooth!!
hi smd
Thank ye lb! I'd have never found it, and I second the whole stoopid word thing....
Hello smooth_pappa...is wine today's theme?
hi douglas
Try this link; it's the first picture
http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e309 /smooth_pappa/
Hello Ping
i know! the power of nursing, i tell ya. plus, he's a pretty hearty kid in general, is rarely sick. he was just so sad and miserable this morning though.
hey Douglas
pearl had about 4 of them while she was one - none since - carrie's never had one, but she's only 14 months old
Ping..don't mean to sound simple but what is your Icon?
give lots of hugs!
hey douglas! that's pure beer I'll have you know. ;) that was my diunner tonight...a fter a heavier lunch, finished the day with some fresh parmiggiano reggiano and belgian abby style ale
carrie is weaned, as of this week, kinda sad
just something I shot as I was eating and drinkingit
for those who were having trouble seeing pappa's picture here's a link: http://tinyurl.com/yrwr3m
smd, it's a helen frankenthaler painting - no reason anyone should know it
daniel nursed till 14 months, i thnk it really helped boost his immune system. plus the fact that i teach, so i think i exposed him and hardened him to a lot of germs early.
leslie! how'd you do that? lol
el5/12 please
just go to www.tinyurl.com and paste the link in
sandr, like the musical instrument but with an e not an f
lol
ahhha thanks
it is an interesting interpretation!! I like it!
I have 4 kids, 1 exclusively bottle, 3 nursed. None had ear infections, though all had/have great immune systems. Immune systems need to be jumpstarted in order to work, IMO.
I'm fond of Newcastle Brown myself...
yw sandr
Has the 'jokey' Jacula takes offence post been rescinded or resolved now?
this was ommegang... But do enjoy newcastle, as well
are you talking to me, jac? i left for a few minutes
Just changed my icon, but still not theme-based...
LA - was asking genrally, to be Honest. Was it you that first said that then?
last word of shortest verse in the Bible...
em 7 clue, please?
Jac, am i offended? for what? huh?
em+ wood you put up over the drywall
whose offended? i don't like to be left out...i want to be offeneded. dawg, offend me.
em= tack a pa5 onto te sideof something, TO.
Sitting on the park bench...blang-da-dang...not a word, though...
lbd - ?
i said i didn't think you were easily offended to kid sandr, and you said any time we took offense it was usually a US/UK misunderstanding... that was the last i heard
Nutty, you are on the offensive team. is that offensive enough?
dont think anyone was offended?! I'm not
no, but my b.o. is.
"I'm going to let her **** in her own goose!"
Jac, I'm just rambling. i don't know any reason for being offended
good thing my computer doesn't have a smell capacity
Ah! LA. I saw someone saying 'if anyone's easily offended, it's Jac'. Sorry for whomever said it and sorry for thinking it was you.xxxx
you sure leslie, cause i swear i can smell you.
I find you offensive Nut!! : )
smooth - very cool pic - the green is kinda eerie
jac, she did say that, but it was tongue in cheek!
sorry Nutty, i think you're smelling yourself...in fact i think i smell you over here! gag
glad its all cleared up -
oh yeah? can you see this??
oh thank you smd!!! i work so hard to cultivate my skills
Did she, feather? Oh, okay.
And if the band you're in starts playing different ****s
its easy to misinterpret words when you can't see the tone of voice
*gasp* at leslies hand gesture
oh wow. you are good.
like saying if anyone's serious all the time, it's evanonut, that kind of thing
oh yeah leslie, well lookit this.
I must have misssed the point, feather... and with you ,too, LA.
Didnt want your hard work to go unrecognized!!
right-o, thanks for the interpretation feather
oh no it's a nutty butty!
jac?
yup
i'm gonna pop out a bit to wash away some of my offensiveness
What you say when you're done praying...and "Thank God that's over" doesn't fit...
*shock!* i didn't know you could do such things with your hands! rofl
What is the so 6 please? Am I missinga variant on the 5 before it?
yes, nut is very offensive LOL
sandr - can't see what's going on now.
so + a musical instrument, lori
ty for em7
thanks HK... the chat is moving so quick I missed our comment. lol
I think I may have passed my lucid point of humour from all over the world point.
Ack! Thank ye LeslieAnn
so6 looks like what a soldier would do to an officer or what nutty was doing to LA...with a different second vowel
can you say brummie ...Brummie....BRUMMIE...in a midlands accent for me? because you know i love you!
*your*
"We cannot stroll to the music of the ****. We must march to the sound of drums." "Poetry, Captain? Against all regulations."
right, the middle-finger so6
smooth - yw
hk are you ready for the super bowl?

what you might get before a colonoscopy Sandr.
oh jac - okay - i miss my friend from rugeley - she would say it.
G'night feather.
ahhh - thanks
Hell - how wonderful to see you. Don't thik I've forgotten about the poem, which would have been perfect for the day's theme.
Just once, I want to hear a player say, "You know, in the greater scheme of things, I don't think God really cares one way or another who wins the Super Bowl. I think He's more interested in our character development."
LA - you know, it's kinda unbelievable, amazing really - when the season started, i never would have thought it!
Douglas, have you seen the characters playing football lately? not much development there to talk about.
jac? we still mates? feel free to make thicko northern jokes
douglas... as a packer fan, I'm sure God does not want the bears to win. ;) you know... wisconsin being God's country ad all. lol
jacula - ah yes, the poem, hahaha - good thing i ain't holdin' my breath!
I seem to recall the Carolina Panther kicker saying something about God and the Super Bowl, and wouldn't you know it that he had a part to play in their defeat?
Douglas - I think you need to substitute 'who wins Babble'. LOL.
Douglas...My niece is coaching assistant for the colts. I will send her your quote to give to Peyton and maybe he can be coerced into saying that at the beginning of the game!!
The un 6 please? Fatigue is setting in. Yah, yah, taht's it fatigue.... :)
no kidding, hk, but the playoffs have been very fun to watch
i think God has a sick sense of humour, look at the giraffe and the avocado.
douglas - lol (football players
As for sports around the world.. to be honest I don't give sh*t.
Don't forget the platypus Lbd!!
and the platypus (stolen from dogma)
What's so sick about the avocado?
heh... dawg... how about the platypus?
oh so true Smd!
Douglas, it's more pit than fruit
dogma - hahaha
i love that movie!

You are talking about teh drink and not the afternoon meal, I asssume? Either way, my post applies.
I was thinking more along the lines of offering them fleeting pleasures in exchange for their eternal souls, although the devil wouldn't really put it in those terms now, would he?
jac - you are just itching for a fight tonight, aren't you? *looking for giant rubber hammer to bop jac with*

haha you just gonna keep busting out with that hk?
keep sucking down the wild turkey, it might not cure the cold, but heck you wont care! ;-)
now i don't use that much, just a dollop
i'd double the dollop!
What narrative are you favoring, helen? Payton Manning exorcising his personal demons and winning the big game at last?
*sniggers at the en 5/12*
thx sandr... do you have a clue the al6/21 after that one?
uh, douglas, hk is from CHICAGO!
i'm rooting for the bears myself
Nutty....*giggling with you*
Hell - I had signed out, but then I was off looking for Melanie Safka's version of Ruby Tuesday, and I thought. what the heck. \My friends will love me whatever.
bear down, chicago bears, and the road will be gold to victory...
dr9397 - same beginning change the latin plural to a consonant
Go Bears!
douglas- if it were any other opponent, i would love to see that, but peyton's just going to have to wait another year
After the Bears started screwing up in the middle of the season, they stopped with the comparisons to the 1985 Bears, etc.
it's really more of a dislike of the colts and mannings of any name on my part.
we'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation, with your t-formation....
I called both of my kids after stars in my eyesm, but not maybe everones.
(((( jacula ))))) - yes, your friends all love you!!
thx sandr
On the radio, it was observed that shortly after the last time the Colts won the Super Bowl, we had Watergate, the fall of Viet Name, WIN buttons, and other unfortunate events...
you're the pride and joy of illinois, chicago bears, bear down!
(((jac)))
Go Bears, is RIGHT!
jacs, we have your prince here this weekend...
my dad was named after a saint, denis with one 'n', and wishing saint denis had had two 'n's forever
mama!
Thank you, Hell.x
Hi Mama!
While after the Bears won the Super Bowl, we had the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Reagan tax cuts taking full effect, and the collapse of the Soviet Union...
To - you do? Who?
hiya leslie, lbd!
GO BEARS, END THE WAR
mamabear! all this bear talk made me think of you!
Folks - please!! You are dising my man Peyton!! Surely you have better things to do.
charles and camillia
no wonder I have the hiccups
So if that has anything to do with anything, one might root for the Bears
*whispering* whoops, thought smdnjv left...
smd, i can't stand to look at him, though he does make some great commercials
gee could it be the beer
not cheering for either team. not a football fan.
hey nutta - you feeling better?
WD LA !!!!
Dang Nut....I am going to cry in a minute!!
hiya mama
nope bear, slept all of today, went bowling, now i'm gonna do the lump thing again.
lump thing is good
what? i said he makes good commercials. (even if that's all hes' good at)
Have I already told you about the conversation I have with my wife when I'm watching a game?
hi helen!
My daughter is named after Ms Safka/mrs Safka-Schekeryk. Love both ladies still.
My niece is Coaching Asst for the Colts Nut....
douglas - you got some great logic going on there
leslie, that chicago thing sounds great, i wish i could do it.
where you at? you could always make a trip of it :)
i don't get why so many people don't like peyton manning, i really like & his commercials are cute too
She was there before Manning though... I have met Peyton on several occasions and I am totally infatuated with him!!
why not, nut?
he seems pretty nice
that's cool about your niece SMD.
i assume you mean it to be in the next three montsh leslie
erm, probably
Thanks HK...at least you know what you are talking about.
Son named after what he himself describes as a corkscrew-haied dwarf bi sexual. 'Sorry about the height thing, Mommy!' M. Bolan - lead singer of TREX is what he was complaining about.
yes, that'll be a problem then
lol smd - & that IS cool about your niece - GIRL POWER!!
do you plan on being sick for three months?
She asks "Who are you rooting for?" I say 'The Colts." She says "Why are you rooting for them?" I say "Because the Bears won the Super Bowl more recently." She says "Well maybe the Bears are the better team. Maybe they deserve to win more." At this point I could say "That's true. That's also irrelevant," but I never do.
oh no jac! i hope he likes his name!
I called my kids after Mrc Bolan and Melanie Safka. roflol.
Yes Lbd...I have pictures of coach Tony after there win and pictures of manning also...as well as the other players.
not me leslie no, but me hubby yes.
i have always LOVED trex & bolan was such a cutie!
douglas, that's usually the logic i use when the bears *aren't* playing... why i rooted for the colts over the patriots
jac you old hippie you lol
The Melanie who did "Candles in the Rain?"
me 5/6 please?
To - the names were placed well before the sprerms with the kids' names were. LOL.
I didn't get that song when it came out...still don't
Doug - you don't geet Candles in the rain?
me5/6 a bus system in DC. and plural
Nope...what is that song about?!?
thanks dawg
Oh dear. I'm to p*ssed and tired right now, but I willl explain it to you one day.
p*ssed meaning intoxicated, btw
Doug - were you a teenager in the 70's?
that one confused me for a long time, the difference of p*ssed that is
All of you Bear fans just wait. You will hear Mr. Payton Manning make this statement before the SB game....."You know, in the greater scheme of things, I don't think God really cares one way or another who wins the Super Bowl. I think He's more interested in our character development."
Yes, LA - p*ssed as intoxicated, not annoyed.
haha smd!
well we could have a drunken babble night next weekend
Yes, I graduated from high school in 1974
LOL smd !!!
Fireworks!!
doug is older than i am! doug is older than me!

hi TO!
TO - next weekend might well be a great date for me as a Babble date. O/H is working tht weekend. My Babbling then may result in another other desk 'discussion' but, ah, LOL.
But it should be noted helen, that I was a year younger than my colleagues when I graduated, as I skipped a grade, so we may actually be the same age...
nut - what is that? the year you were born?
any clues for the 7-, 8-, and 9-letter words?
ho hum....what's that helen k/ i can't hear you!
hey jac!
Hi Frannie
No HK....the year she was committed!!

douglas - then this is a milestone year for us :(
oh THAT'S why she smells... that straitjacket has been on a LONG time!
LOL smd!

Incidentally, I'm stuck listening to Melanie Safka now. She's been my life's inspuration as a woman. My Mum thinks she's just a 'dirger'.

jacs, she is from south jersey and one of her first concerts was at my alma mater
aha! you ARE older - september for me :)
Dog - you youngster, you. I gewt there on April22nd.
On the other hand, there's nothing morose about "I've Got A Brand New Pair of Roller Skates."
my next door neighbor just turned 50 day before last - i get to give her grief for the next 8 months
no doug, but 'ive got a brand new girlfriend' is much funner

I'm listening to Melanie on Napster now...
LOL free coat check
TO - I wish I could have been at your alma mater! My best moment was when she heard me ask for a song at a small concert and did it for me.
i'm glad you're comfortable there nutty

blast, i lost an s in the list
All of, or most of these tracks were written by a girl who was around the ages that my kids are 19/20 and 22/23. I know what I thought at their ages!
aha, there it is
what I thought at those ages was totally alien
at those ages, i though i was an alien
It was just after WW2
yeah, but that was true, nut
Well, there you have it, for me, in a female way, Melanie Safka and Sinead O'Connor both have it prety much sewn up ... if you listen to ALL of their songs.
oh nutty buudy, care to clue the ro8/9?
*gestures to leslie*
Breakin' up is hard to do...
um...do you have the 9???
*gestures back*

A character from "A Streetcar Named Desire" is in the grid, and it isn't Stanley...

I'm just impressed with you late night energy!!!
I'm a music fan les. If hot flushes disturb me, then I turn to mjusic andBabble in the end.
going nuts over the ro8 & ro9 - put the old girl out of her misery please - someone?
crone, ro + woman's name (or greek for star) is ro8
ro9 is the singular form of the word
ro6 = ro plus a girl's name (means 'star'.
The middle ro4/4 will come in handy when we welcome our new Islamic overlords
Fran- Hi! Glad to see you here. I'll leave the clueing to you and continue listenin to music, if I may?
no problem jac
HA douglas, good one...I remember that same line during the cld war, but use "soviet" not islamist
God, fran, t/u.
Meant, good, fran.

Republicans are racing each other to see which one can give our lunch money to Iran the fastest...
yw crone, fireworks?
nope fran - not yet. got a late start
be that as it may, at least they don't have the missles to reach our land... the only enemy we have currently rthat can accomlish that is possibly NK
I read this today... The Bolton City Council in Manchester has bowed to the demands of the radical Islamic front group calling itself the Muslim Council of Britain, and banned Holocaust Day.
http://www.jewishtelegraph.co.uk/man_1 .html
douglas... remind me again which continent manchester si in? not that we should be complacent, but Where iun the US do you see that happening?
It's pertinent as Holocaust Day is the theme...
Manchester is in the UK...
Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Cmpare to U.
I like her version almost as much as Prince's
You mean "Nothing Compares 2 U"
yeah... I've got a good buddie just outside Of Man. However, if such a thing were to happen in the US, it would not be ofr a LONG time away.
Ah, difficult one to listen to ! I almost died myself that a decde ago wheb it was alll happening for me and when he rang me up and played it to me.. Nuff said.
even though we do have raitional moderate islamic thinkers in this country, even they are ciewed with suspicion.
i still find lrics hard to read or listen to.

hi again, kid was good (of course) in the production this evening, 64 words left but no hope of finishing...
hi stid!
pappa -- isn't it past your bedtime? you're not usually here this late!
hi again fran!
there isn't a community in the country that would ignore everyone else and pander to an islamic constiuancy
hi stid! I usually am, but just flipping like mad from site to site. lol
plus me and douglas are just starting a good debate. :)
and douglas, please forgive my typos.
How can you take those lyrics seriously when the husband you thought you had married for life asks you to listen to them after he transgressed for the ?th time?
Alas smooth, the people who speak for Muslims in America are radicals like CAIR. I wish these moderates, wherever they are, would speak up, but they seem to either not exist or be silent
And how to you find you self-esteem after that?
{{{pappa}}} {{{Douglas}}} enjoy your debate... *emphatically NOT debating*
Well, I did find mine.
Found a new love, too.
Lol, got Sinead's Mandika deafening me now!
This song deftly removes your heart and sews up the gash before you know it's missing...
Douglas, I know the scandals around CAIR, and I don't find many supporters of the,m... how about the AMS? Associatio of Muslim Scholers?
I'm not familiar with them smooth, but they definitely don't get as much air time...
many cases where they have condemned terrorism.. Yes there are radical factionsw, here and else where... and there are moderite factions, as well... but I'm not trying to justify or condemn either. What I'm saying is that neither enjoy a standin in America that enables them to influence policy
Googling AMS now...
also known as the Muslim Scholars Association
smooth and Doug. it sems from what Stid said that I shuold just b*gger off, leave you both alone.
Wikipedia sez...The Association of Muslim Scholars (Arabic: هيئة علماء المسلمين Hayat Al-Ulama Al-Muslimin) also sometimes called Association of Muslim Clerics or Muslim Scholars Association), are a group of Sunni Muslim religious leaders in Iraq. The Association is believed to have strong links with Al-Qaeda terrorists.[citation needed]
citation needed... they are the ones that are calling for calm among iraqui insurgents... they have issued a fatwa against terrorism
there is also the: Fiqh Council of North America
what did stid say? *trying to remember*
I think i willsignout now.
they are not pro-america, but that doesn't make them a terrorist org.,

((((HUGS!!!)))) hey girls!! (air kisses to the boys!)
Quoting from Bill Arlandson...
so... what is it you disagree with? there are in both Islam and Christianity groups that are moderate, and fundamintalist groups... in Islam, you have groups that use the basis of islam to promot war. In Christianity, their counterparts put up websites like. www.godhatesfags.com
Goodnight all across the pond.
It seems like years since you held the baby While I wrecked the bedroom You said it was dangerous after Sunday And I knew you loved me He thinks I just became famous And that's what messed me up But he's wrong How could I possibly know what I want When I was only twenty-one? And there's millions of people To offer advice and say how I should be But they're twisted And they will never be any influence on me But you will always be You will always be If I treated you mean I really didn't mean to But you know how it is And how a pregnancy can change you I see plenty of clothes that I like But I won't go anywhere nice for a while All I want to do is just sit here And write it all down and rest for a while I can't bear to be in another city One where you are not I would return to nothing without you If I'm your girlfriend or not Maybe I was mean But I really don't think so You asked if I'm scared And I said so Everyone can see what's going on They laugh `cause they know they're untouchable Not because what I said was wrong Whatever it may bring I will live by my own policies I will sleep with a clear conscience I will sleep in peace Maybe it sounds mean But I really don't think so You asked for the truth and I told you Through their own words They will be exposed They've got a severe case of The emperor's new clothes The emperor's new clothes The emperor's new clothes
did you see the pics!! ?? it was sooooo close! all fires are out now and I am 300km away from the ruins of the national parks... (swigs from the vodka/lemon bottle)... how is it by you all?
wow mrp!
But the Christian community generally condemns such groups, while the Islamic community does not...
WAY better than there, mrp -- but I need to step away and spend some time with my kid who just got out of the shower... {{{glad you're okay}}} back when I can.
later stid
lickety is stuck out in the middle of nowhere (now I know some of you think that all of australia is that summation) but he might be a while.... someones' motorbike broke down 20km from the nearest help... no clues till the boy comes limping home
those are not christians smooth - just as the protocols of the elders of zion claimed to be christians and hate those of us who are jewish
Goodnight all, from somone just listening to a Sinead O'Connor cd.
hello all again
night jac!
hi jilli!
I must disagree with the premis of that article. Be it that it may be that I have not stufied the q'ran in depth, I have red through it, and i know that a lot of Sharia law is based on Interpretations of the old text. There is a basis for women to divorce their husbands in the quran, and also to ow property. An ideal that is stricly opposed by sharia law.
ouch mrp!!!
is everyone leaving?
nite jac, hi jilli
hi jilli!
hi mrp
We seem to be scaring everybody off smooth. Agree to disagree?
hello, rennie
you won;t scare me off
me neither
I know you are a christian douglas... do you believe in all the punishemtns of the OT? should I be stoned to death for disobewying my parents as a teen? should Lewinky be stoned to death for her affir with clinton? Those are las in the OT... Shaira law is based on an interpretaiton analagous to that. And Sharia law will change based on country to country... it is not the same is Saudi Arabia as it is in Somalia. But those laws are all based on parts of the Q'ran that are not consistant with the basic teachings of islam
lol agree to that douglas
time to get more vodka/lemon...
but I'm not joining in your debate, guys
get one for me, please mrp
i want a vanilla malt from sonic
how are things going, rennie?
I owuldn't mind a good shot of tequila about now. lol
hi, everyone.
Douglas, any time you would like to contiune, find me on MSN chat at smooth_pappa@hotmail.com, or AIM with the name smoothpappa.
hi melon!
I believe the OT punishments were for that time and people...the punishment for all our lawbreaking was completed in the death of Christ on the cross...
good jilli - i just completed a sales tax roll forward and am about to zone
what's with all the heavy discussion - i come here to escape!
heya melon!!!
ren, I only understood about half of what you said!!!
heya, ren! hi, Fran, jilli, mrp, etc...
But I appreciate your questions smooth...I'm not on IM very much, but I will look for you there...reprioritizing...
translates to: working long hours jilli
and yet there are contemporary grops that hang on to some of those old punishments. In Islam is the same... and even though they may not have a heavy voice, there are islamicxs that oppose that way of thinking... but like i said, in the US, all islamic thinkers are viewed with distrust, and abroad, their views are not heard on the nightly news.
lol ok douglas. :)
thanks, ren! How's mezzie?
ok - gotta do my domestic diva thingies - see you catz later

hello everyone! How many words you all guessing for the next grid?
stid -- Poughkeepsie is pronounced Pu-KIP-sy so I'm guessing Poughquag is Pu-KWAG -- let's see what minver says
Woulf: short jog?
Oh no! Poughquag is in Dutchess. Staying away from LI! That is almost just as expensive as Westchester!
I was a bit late with that...
Stid-- thanks
Hello NonnieLight! How are you? Welcome to the grid
Hi every one just come on do you tink i can find 184 words in 5 minutes
I wasn't sure Min, -- I didn't think it was since I lived on LI for most of my life -- but with all the Indian names for towns I could have missed one easily enough
Yes, it it sounds the same way as Poughkeepsie, NY.
I'm doing just fine, Min---how are you?
Tiny -- the entering is probably the real test -- how many wpm do you type?
Hello Tiny! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
down to 31... nailbiting time!
Min, Dutchess was more expensive than Putnam where my aunt's place was (right on the edge of Dutchess) -- they bought it in the 20s -- wonder what it's worth now!
how about the pe6/7 combo?
Does anyone have a clue for the sw 5/22 word please
maybe 2 words a minute
LOL
Min -- where gators live
23...
Once again, jill--I enjoyed your bio.
so how about the pe7?
They say Westchester County is the most expensive and Putnam County is second most expensive.I don't know where Long Island or Dutchess fits in.
I won't finish but at least I will have all the long ones
Min - where they have the boats with the huge fan in the back
Thanks, Nonnie!
