from the day babanon was founded, Babble got the status of true addiction!
boy howdy that's the truth. in my first flushes of adoration with it, i lost Sleep, waiting for 1:00 to roll around, staying up wayyyy too long trying to get more words, etc. i thnk that's why i had to step away for a bit!

poor Douglas - tough day for you!
sprite -- did you ever read a book called "Jennie" (in England) or "The Abandoned" in North America -- by Paul Gallico?
YESSSSSSS jilli - absolutely wonderful. And it left me so sad.
Actually one could make a case for this one, as the name is used with another connotation as the place of eternal punishment...
and as plural to the 4, Doug?
Yes, but I don't know what the singular actually is...
to do with geology Douglas
Oh, well, in the immortal words of Emily Litella...never mind
Doug: 1. Geology. the angle between a fault plane and the vertical, measured perpendicular to the strike of the fault; complement of the dip. 2. Mining. the inclination of a vein or seam from the vertical.

Hi Dee

hi all :)
Hi saphy, jil
hello ata
oh, one of my bridge buddies just came online
Hi Ata
I remember my cat, who was all black. On a cold day, when I couldn't get warm and kept moving through the house, he found that one single spot of sunlight and curled up and got almost too hot to tough :)
Ata! *hug*
Hi ata
*to touch
lol sprite - cats are great
mine was terrific. We got him too early from the nest, because the kittens were being abused, as was the mom. He grew up with our dog. He fetched balls of paper, growled when someone was at the door and he swagged his tail when he was happy :D
my cat does that too sprite - she thinks she is a dog and I think the dog thinks he is a cat - but they are buddies
best thing was, when we started thinking he was convinced he was a dog and we called him. He just looked down at us and sniffed :)
my cat is very skittish - he won't even come in the house if we have company
lol
a friend of ours brought his dog with him last time he visited - his dog growled at my dog - the cat chased him, growled at him, and then wouldn't let him out of the corner for the rest of the visit
great guard cat !
YAY for the cat!
lol yes - very protective of her dog! :)
our dog is a better mouser than the cat tho
the cat and dog tag teamed against a copperhead snake - that was scary - but thankfully they won
my dog catches mice, my cat runs away from them
lol, that's priceless Atalante
animals are so wonderful, even talking about them makes me smile :)
I can sit and watch those two all day :)
hear hear! Now I'm going to take my cat's advice...good night all
hiccup time...
night jilli *hugs*
night Jilli

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
Am I getting smart with you? How would you know?
Mothers of teens know why some animals eat their young.
now that is sooo true
Children: You spend the first 2 years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 16 years telling them to sit down and shut-up.
I love to give homemade gifts. Which one of my kids do you want?
Children will soon forget your presents. They will always remember your presence.
oh lickety! you are just wrong!!
The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own.
oh stop!!
stopped
oh man I am good!
Good morning/evening - have I tumbled upon parent classes, Australian style?
hi Haz
Hello annotherone.
hi haz... enjoy the fun... that is all it is
how's your weather?
it is very icy in Yorkshire
It's quite boring - cold and slightly damp, no snow at all.
we had a little snow overnight but now it's frozen
haz, you just described my bosses office
We always seem to get the tail end of whatever is going, there's a little snow forecast for higher ground this evening. Icy weather conditions don't make for pleasant driving!
Morning all Snow left from yesterday and cold
Boring and slightly damp? I take it you keep out as much as possible!
Good morning FMItch!
Hi fmitch
today was my first time in there.... never going there again!
Hi fmitch! long time!!

what ewwwwwwww, i'm talking about moving and jobs and grown up stuff like that
no lol the new is talking about eating mush you missed it
your moving
yes, looks like it. around the beginning of june.
good morning everyone
oh you movin otta america
where are you moving to hurshy?
good morning!
no, not moving too far. to the boston area.
hi aloy,eva
that's where we moved from a couple of years ago. Where in Boston?
ahhhh
mousey, what happened?
not sure exactly, i'm looking into finding an apt - have made inquiries on a complex in somerville
do you know anything about somerville? is it a safe area?
opps srry hit the enter button on accident
I was just getting ready to say hi to you... so, hi
me
Somerville has changed a lot and neighborhoods that used to be somewhat dicey aren't anymore, but you need to tale to women in the neighborhoods to really know. Also, when we were moving to JP I found out that you can go to the library or local policfe stattion and get printouts of crime statistics for different neighborhoods.
i looked at crime stats on the web, it said no murders or homicides, so that was encouraging
You also want, sadly, to make sure to look for rapes, robberies and armed assaults.
i don't know why they say "murders or homicides"
go to west newberry massuchuusets
what's the diff?
right. i'll inquire into that.
move there move there
but i also am not the kind of person who goes out much at night, so, there is that.
Legall, I think, murders have intent and homicides don't have to. Never heard of West Newberry
wouldn't be walking around after dark
BOOM! oops
Another really important thing, if you are going to live in Boston, is the parking situation.
the complex has assigned parking
great! That makes all the difference.
but i might use the car only for longer distances, and take public transp. day to day.
I forgot. Where are you living now?
cause i've heard driving in boston is a nightmare
my god eva west newberry massachuusets
do you mean Newton, mousey?
nope west newberry
The first 3 years I drove in Boston I often ended up in tears (as well as miles from where I wanted to be), but then I became as much of a vehicular sociopath as everyone esle and was fine
no i do not mean a fig newton lol
where is newberry mousey?
Fig Newton's actually are named after Newton, where they were invented
ive been there no idea where it is
well i'll just have to see how it goes - can't worry too much about the details yet
just go to west newberry massachuestes
I've know plenty of people who lived fine without cars in Boston, but it doesn't have, to my mind, the best public transportation system. Depending on where you are or where you are going, there can be very long distances between stops, but by and large, in those places you can find parking.
Although, when push comes to shove, I just don't like living in cities, and love the boonies, Boston is a very liveable city, big enough for good art, food, diversity, and small enough to not be totally overwhelming.
yeah, i'm looking forward to it. my sister lives in lynn.
and vi lives in the western suburbs, i think, so maybe i can get to know her in real life!
and you found a complex that will allow cats. That can be hard.
yup, cats allowed!
i really hope they have a unit available for june!
YAY!
i mean i know i can look around more but i like things to just go smoothly...
don't we all? :)
well, it is certainly a renter's/buyer's market in the Bostson area now. I know this well as a land lord, so you should have quite a bit of choice and be able, aslo to bargain for what you want.
really? that's great to hear.
i hope the job market is good too. it looks like it from what i can see on job websites
Yes, the real estate market there has been crashing downwards.
i have seen lots of jobs for the type of thing i'd like to do, with salary i can live on. but of course i can't really apply yet since i can't be there til june.
everyone check email dr_god sent email
i'll probably start applying a month before... does that seem sensible?
I don't know about the job market now. When oil prices go up, things tend to get tighter in Boston. It's never easy, because there is such an influx of students graduating each year, but you probably wouldn't be competing with them anyway.
but if you see some place you would really like to work for, its probably worth sending a letter now-ish and saying you're moving in June and would they keep you in mind for future vacancies
i just want to do any sort of office admin work - i'm really efficient and organized, good with excel and stuff, so...
I really don't know about the time table, but it sounds like you are already scanning the ads. It depends what kind of job you are looking for. I agree with Atalante, and for professional jobs, one often make agreements many months ahead of time.
yeah my type of thing i don't think is so much in advance
its importend dr_god sent an email to all of us
I haven't received an e-mail
what does it say?
me either
however, i have a reasonable cushion of savings to tide me over for a couple of months if necessary.
Morning everyone.
only a few more babble shirts left
hi, jacula
but if you're scanning ads and do see something you'd really like, its worth writing to them anyway
hi jac!
hi Jac
Mousey - are you talking about the Babble army email? Dr_God is having more tee-shirts made and hopes we'll all be photographed wearing them for a Babble Army picture gallery.
yes. first i need to get my friend to help me get my resume up to snuff. and then i might do that. and also post resume on monster and so forth.
When you're ready to go, we can talk restaurants. I mean, what's most important anyway?!
lol eva
its always worth shoving your resume into people's faces!
my resume itself isn't that impressive. sufficient, but... i need the cover letter to really sell myself. don't know if you can post those on those websites.
And, if you're into that kind of thing, one of the best deals in boston is a membership at the Museum of Fine Arts. Aaside from the exhibits, it's a wonderful place just to go and hang out, sit in the garden in the good weather, eat in the cafe.
yes, you can normally post an extra something
that's good
what a waste of an 'est' string...

Une there was a gyno named Dr Skinner and there is also many Dr Skinners listed in google
I know...I have to consider a change of names.
we had a Skinner family in our neighborhood when I was a little kid
I dont know if i really would like to see a Dr skinner
With our last name being Light, we had all kinds of "helpful suggestions while considering names for the children.
i can imagine!
The name Boner relates back to butchery. My own married name is a derivation.
interesting, haz . . .
think it's Newsround where the editor is called Sinead Rocks - I would love to be called that
Rocks would be a cool last name.

Annno
rofl
Chip ye = affirmative.
assent in slang
Slangy affirmative
ye4/7 slang agreement
great minds...
duh, or should I say "oh ----"
You can tell who the Star Trek fans are on here; we all say 'affirmative'.
Affirmative, Jac
;-)
alright...now that we've gotten that one out of the way...where do I start looking for those 9's
sudz
re 9/84 & re 9/66

bye, jean
In the grid, dear chip, in the grid. re9/44, re9/66
hello and bye Haz:)
Bye jean!
Later, jean1953
Chip - Don't believe a word that Haz woman says! She's pinched one of the re9's and hidden it under her desk so that I can't find it!;)
If we say, Hi Jac, can we also say Hi Jean?
Seriously, Jacula?
Scarlet - I did say Hi Jean!
Haz - yes.;(
Which have you got?
LOL ;-)
Haz - the rewritten.
I knew it was something like that Jacula
So think along the lines of what ice does when it melts, and then freezes again.
Or paint, when the lid is left off the tin too long.
re 9/66-- to go from a liquid to solid state again ... sounds a bit the US Teapot Dome president Warren G.
done! nearly done in by the tu 5 and tu 6--an opening in a blast furnace indeed!
Good job, Kateq
any clues before I'm off?
have the liquid back to solid....need a clue for the rewritten one please
What the heck were the tus?
Congrats, Kateq
kateq clue the tu' please - hello all
Hi, ursh
i keep trying to get tundra
tu 5/16 and tu 6/27 -- from the French--meaning an opening to aid combustion
Buttonman - think of what you do when you start to write out your thoughts for a speech, for example. It is also a homonym for an annoying wind coming from a gap under the door....
sounds sort of like a toast in the bronx
re 9 66----to rewrite your new novel
Got the 8 & 9. Thanks Haz and BabRab.
yeeees kateq and then??
Well done Kateq.
or think of soldiers being compelled to join again
in the furnace??
ursh - the tu's let air into the furnace.
re 9 --- congress instituted a **** lottery during the Vietnam war ---- if you are involuntarily enrolled in the miltary AGAIN, you have been re 9
the soldiers refer to the re 9
was just kidding jacula
and keteq
*kateq
gracias to all
hi all, I don't get the clues for the tu's????
even to Haz who was, I believe, hiding one of the words
tu 5 - t + a word from caveat emptor: b****
LOL, Chip.
Never believe a word that Jacula woman says. She offloads her ironing onto other people.
tu5 - tu plus a vowel removed from 365 days
Haz - roflol. Karys caught me the other day and gave it back!
sorry BabRab, still not getting it!
Stid slipped 2 shirts into my ironing pile and so I gave them to charity. LOL.
We're all getting wise to your tricks!
tu -t + add not a seller but a b****
got it tx to all - thats fireworks for me
Got them from your clue, BR. Thank you.
Well done, sugar.
Have a great Friday everyone!
tx for the tu's
tu6 - to the tu5, add a vowel to the end.
'Bye, Kateq. WTG sugar.
Congrats, sugar!
congrats, sugar!!
tx everyone, must go phone ringing.........bye
Congratulations sugar - and bye Kateq.
140 to go, any help with those I's at the bottom would be just loverly
it 7/28 -- to repeat to drive home a point
it5/12 - take the m from the maternal soundalike (mi6) and you have it.
one is to get one's self all in a di***** without the d at front
chip to say again used the ra4/4 at the end
then plural and past tense
thank you all
Haz - speaking of the pesky mi6/24, why can't we have 'ed' at the end, or even 'er' come to that??
I don't know - it claims to be Scots, so the verb forms etc should be the same.
mi6/24 where I come from isn't a maternal word, it means to pester someone or to be worried.
er6/18 please
er6/18 - the mistakes of the ancient Romans
I agree, Jacula, that's how it would be used here as well.
tx haz
The mi - maternal thing might have more to do with perceived pronunciation rather than actual use.
You're welcome, ursh.
mistakes of ancient Romans?
Haz, what a wonderful poem in the bio!
Chip - list of mistakes as referred to by a publisher or editor.
It's the plural of a mistake in Latin.
chip, it's also a literary term--used when posting mistakes in a book in print
er 6 -- a list of corrections added as a page in book or publication
chip ends with a baby thank you
LOL YAYAYA
Scarlet - I learnt if off by heart as a child - it's fun, isn't it?
My First 9 letter word lol
thanks for the re9 hint
woohoo, ishbalin!
It is well worth committing to memory... just a delight!
I must be going insane, just not seeing it...maybe if I walk away and come back it will be there
It has to be declaimed in a broad Scots accent for full effect!
er 6 --- add a pro **** share
oh, good one, BR
Mine is so-so, and it needs the brrrrs and broad vowels to sound good. I won't be reciting it!
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
:-)
nice lol GOT BOTH 9's !!!!!
are all the m's mi?
yes
Just been doing it out load in Brummie Scots, Haz. Son thought I'd gone doo lalley!
wtg, Ishbalin
crap, just my luck...are they easily moonkeyed? I have three that sound normal.
I can just imagine! If the men in the white coats arrive, hide behind the ironing pile.
the first 4 all start with mi4/5
mi4, 5, 7 x 2
thanks une got them all now
good happy morning, all!
{{{STID}}}
Hello stidmama!
mi6/24 rhymes with z***** an old musical instrument
hey, stid!
tared
oops
mi 4/5 --- the pest; then go to the mi 5/12 --- the papal hat or wood joint; then the 7s are past tense and one who forms the joints
oof! {{Judy}} good to see you, too! :-)
guys I need the lest MI I got 4/5, 5/12, 7/36, 7/32
thanks wurdy!
no problem
mi6 - an alternatively vowelled rendition of the maternal figure
I am down to 75 Had to leave earlier when I couldnt guess the yes word took me 5 minutes of clues
mi 6/24 --- m + come h*****
LOL, Haz. I will!
Hi, Stid.
alright...back...eyes rubbed...brain fried and re 5/16 to try that bloody ER 6 again
go wurdy go! (yes word?) *looking*
ah! got it (i think)
er 6 --- add a pro **** share
hello again, Chip!
er, a rodent, a vowel
oh stid dont let it happen to you too...you say proabably a kazillion times a day ye 4
But it doesn't sound nearly as impressive as ancient Roman mistakes....
hi Jacula, wanted to tell you that Mother enjoyed your travel journal too! It's going in my permanent collection. :-)
Hi all still a bit confused on mi 6
thx...now I must go to Wikpedia and find out what the heck that word means
ish - baseball mi* + not him but ***
Hiya, everyone!!!!! Just been checking out the log, and I see my ol' mate punster has been up to his old tricks again...........
Ishbalin - take your mi5 and add a consonant in the middle to make it resemble the structure of the woman who gives birth
lol wurdy I don't know anything about baseball lol
hello, has everyone found a green clue for their icon today?
mornin' movieman!
NICE HAZZZ
thats what I get for trying how about oven mi*

its comming to me but a bit slow
hello jacs! beautiful cake. i didn't get a birthday cake this year : (
I always say superman is the best
the last four letters are r4, "speed" or amount of speed?
krypotnite isnt as easily found as a good joke
it words - it plus a vowel, then the speed at which you do something, (mix up the letters of the eye moisture te4/4)
oh TO... no cake? not even a cookie cake? :-(
who is selling speed
shame on you stid
in the ultimate DC vs. Marvel battle I would go with Juggernaugt vs. Soloman Grundy
Movieman stole my icon. (was Hulk yesterday). Had to pick another green thing.
LOL wurdy -- with how tired I am today, if I had any, I wouldn't be selling it!
Then make it present tense, third person singular form and past tense. The it6 - take the m from the maternal figure you found earlier.
dont worry i dont sell or share drugs either
it 7/28 --- Roman pathway & "I cqn't believe I *** the whole thing"
mi 7/32 plz?
yes stid - couldn't find a green sky for my clue!! great cake Jacula
mi7/32 - the one who does the joinery work

Wowee Jacula.

Hi peri. No, it's Evanadine's. Mine's in April.

the one doing the joining, Chip
Haha. She is arriving in her van, then we will drive to the park nearby, and there are 2 miles of groomed trails awaiting us.
oh Stid - your cake looks absolutely yummy

oh my! I am down to 114 words already!
hello angela!
Well, I'd better go and download the snow pics I've taken today. Happy Babbling, all!
(((stid))) hey there!

hi angela ....gee it will be fun to babble at home later, with actual time to chat
wurdy we're exact opposites--i have found 59 and therefore have 200 to go!
I live alone and I am a happy, nonconformist, justice and peace-seeking worker that does not tolerate the power and control wars at work
Wishing you much chatting time later on TO
go jane go!

scrabs, at first i thought you were bv...has anyone seen her recently?
do you actually paint on the scarf
The meanies still totally annoy and anger me, but I have established my position
No, not recently
me, I'm a stay-at-home mother and housewife, trying to stay afloat of laundry, activities and housework... *sigh* because I couldn't handle being around meanies anymore...
if you tryly were a nonconformist, you woould be skiing inside
could I get a hint for the E's that star with the left column, third row?
yes, I do wurdy -- there are some pics up at my business site, I'll post it in my profile for today if you are interested.

sounds deliciously wonderlandy, Scrabbler!
NO IT DOESN'T
what kinid of paint to use stid
where do I see them stid?
The deer came through the yard last night, leaping through the high snow--they were beautiful
LOL TO... I meant, sounds beautiful if one doesn't HAVE to be out in it... and deer are only beautiful when they are NOT eating my plants!
see the web address in my profile, flosey
That is true, Stid. I do provide them with the hosta buffet all summer.
thanks, would love to see your scarves
It's a paint for silk -- I am using "Dynaflow" because I can heat set it easily... someday I'll get a dye that requires steam setting.
very cool stid
stid put tabssco around your plant use a spray bottle they will leave everything alone
OK, wurdy--I'll try that. What about the slugs that eat the hostas?
I kinda do wurdy -- in the summer at least when the rain doesn't wash stuff off, I have a secret formula with rotten egg and chili pepper...
but I only use it on my non-edibles, of course!
ahh that works
"sluggo" Scrabbler -- works well for me
I saved my new plants (we just moved and are doing landscaping) everything i planted the darn deer ate
alright, I'm ignoring the m 7/32 for now because I just can't see it and I'm going cross-eyed looking for it. Any help with the two E's in the first column?

just said site not available
now must concentrate on completing this puzzle
*trying to hold cat still with one hand and type with the other* hmm, stid, it doesn't seem to be working. i think i'll stick to turtlenecks.
yes, that sounds like a connection problem, maybe the web is busy today (I know my site doesn't get that much traffic!). I'd try again later...
LOL Fiz!
and I am under 100. Time to get into my paint gear and get to work! *hugging everyone* see you later!

HYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYHY
Jamie, I think you mean "what". Capitalize your personal pronouns. Learn to spell "ignore" You left off the "y"and ""o" from "you". Don't forget your apostrophe in the workd "I'll". this is a game for people who can spell and for people with a modicum of intelligence. You seem to fint neither category. It is also for people who have the ability to read subtle cues. Have a nice life!
Cool icon, Faerie

oops, sorry chip, clued wrong word
TY All

fran, that's alright, needed the one you clued me to too
he cooks too lbd.
thanks, I thin kthey should too. lol
sigh. i have 64 left, and suddenly don't feel like finishing.
Cathyar - people often laugh when I say it, but I think better with a singular pe4/5 in my hand.
gee, if only i were single and half my age or he was twice his! :-)
heather, you feeling okay?
HA!
smooth -- just saw your chocs -- as it says, too beautiful to eat!
yep, i think just tired of the grid!
Madi95wuzup
sky
uh oh
featherbee - take a break. Come back with fresh eyes later.
I've had them once... they are Great! and I don't even care much for chocolate
another clue 4 another "s" word Babies (under 60 lbs) need 2 sit in a car s*** or u can do the plural
alright, well I have all the vowels so if anyone needs clues with them...
i think re words should be limited to two words a day max!
first ad5/14??
ooh, those chocolates look good!
i do need clues with the vowels!!
i know jac, but i don't have much later in me! it's 9:05 pm here, and i peter out pretty quick nowadays
lbd - I'm cetain ExWren would agree with you.
stephie, fess up to something.
thanks!!
Much cursed re's here I come. If I'm not back in 15 minutes, send in the divers!
feather - don't worry about it then. It's only a game. It's meant to be fun and, if it isn't...
i just found another re word
ad 5/14 _____ it, you think I'm great
heather, i know what you mean, this grid was pretty tedious.
PE5/16 please...
first ad5/14 -- a+what's all over my house
keep up the good work penguin!
ad5/14 is my icon clue
smd, like the pe6/27 without the last letter, also the name of a university.
pe5/16 -- french for lost
tedious, yep, that's how i'm feeling. i think i'm going to go play elsewhere for a bit, and if i feel like finishing i will, if i don't i won't. i've stopped caring about ratings, so no biggie!
heather, have you tried the puzzles at jigzone.com?
Hey Fran...I dont have that one yet either!
Have fun, feather. It sounds like you need a Babble break.x
46 left...losing steam
those the jigsaw ones? yep, i have
feather, I've never cared about ratings (and that's a good thing) but like to finish and chat and clue
you can do it chip!
i also have a jigsaw game on my computer, so don't really need to go there!
pe6/27 is like the name of a university, i just tried it for kicks and it was accepted.
I swear, babble is more addictive than crack....not that I know anything about crack...but you hear things
i usually like the satisfaction of finishing. i guess not so much tonight! ah well.
*shovels more coal into Chip's tinder box*
Oh! That sounded rather rude! I was thinking of steam engines.
feather, jigzone is different from most jigsaws -- have a look!
feather, it probably has a lot to your condition...lots of energy going on in there!
thx Fran!!
how many re words r there?
yw smd!
yeah....sure you were
anyone know the it7?
too many penguin...i think 18
17 re words I think
18 penguin.

*crying* these are not real words...DR. GOD is screwing with our minds
cool SMD!
i know who the Beatles r
LOL chip!
penguin, how young is too young
I LOVE Paul Mcartney
cause I'm 28 and don't want to think I'm old
then i'd say you are not too young penguin.
lol 26 here chip, but i think i already am too old
i think 9 is young but that is just me lol
Okay, penguin. Their first hit was 'She Loves You', what word did they sing 3 times after that? Don't type it he4 but in your add word box.

100 more to go! This will take forever
lol specificity, there's only a couple years between us... and by the time I make it there, I'll be 63 or so... If i keep feeling like this. lol
How many words are there total today?
i think jilli has the most to say about getting older, i'm surprised she hasn't said anything yet.
i got it off azlyrics.com

Thanks!
Well done, penguin. Hope you listen to the song sometime, too.
259 words boo hooo hooo
its game over folks i've done it.
good 4 u
lori, if you sew, you may have to re****** your needle or bobbin.
re8/60 = the verb form (some might call it a plural) of the re7/44.
yay pinkhat!
Well done, pink.
Lori, if you write a bunch of papers over and over again, the finished product are re____
re + when you write an essay you have to write the first d**** + plural letter
oops, sorry lori, i gave you a clue for the last re8/50.
Thank ye muchly.
Congrats pink!
i got that 1 Stephie good clue
Fran - maybe the 'old de4/5's' gone to sleep at the keyboard? LOL. If that doesn't bring her back, nothing will!;-)
thank you!
hello friends
hi ping!
hi ping
what a pretty frog!
fran, see my scores on QP? i was hot today!

wb Ping
Hi, Ping.

My last re, believe it or not, the re 4/7 please?
thank you! i'm holding my breath hoping i stay up there
Goodnight babblers see you all tomorrow.

yes, i made the right guess on in and out after two letters.
Good for you penguin!
night pinkhat!
night pink
i did well on the triples today on QP
'Night, pink. Sweet dreams.
G'night pink.
night night
Well done, penguin.

yesterday fran you beat me on the scrambler and it was my kiddo's name!
before + the first ad5 hillary
any clues 4 e words?
ouch, that stinks!
he6/21??
lol ping! good job on triplet! i've been having a hard time with those this week.
That's the 1st pr8, hillary. The 2nd = past tense of something that came before something else in time.
lori, re+ ** i tell you i'd have to hurt you with a fish!
yp got all the ps thanks
en + what you pay to an organization (sorority, frat, union, etc)
alright boys and girls, I need to get out of here and head to the bar before my friends think I've become a total Ne 4/5
for some reason the triplets have been easier for me this week
en + my cable bill is past ***, then build on it for the 6's
cheers chip!
I see the supercluers are here so I can do some other stuff -- back soon
I leave with 214 words, a personal high...close enough for one night
jilli - you didn't see what I said about you then? *grins*
you have triplets, ping?
Thank ye lb. pass the fish....
See ya' later Chip, have fun. Be safe.
stephie, he6/21 is an old-fashioned preposition, this place + this and th**
<9))<<
bye chip!
boo hoo i am sooooo bad at this only 33 words so far
:)
thanks fran!
'Bye, Chip. Well done.
Later Jilli
penguin, you are doing great for being a newbie!
yw stephie
no, jac -- I was in the kitchen for a bit -- I'll scroll back...rats -- I guess I missed it
Hang with it penguin. My first couple grids, I thought it was impossible...LOL
*PHEW!*
ok, fess up, jac!
ur probably older than 9 I am guessing
thankfully, stephie, i have no triplets - it's a game we all play called Quote Puzzler - have you seen it before?
no, i haven
haven't
penguin, if you click on the icons you get lots of info about the players ;)
Penguin, I'm old enough to know that giving ages isan't always safe on the internet... :)
just by a few scores of ye**s Penguin, you are doing great. keep plugging away at the letters and the words will be there.
would you like the link?
sure
Oh, Jilli, you're still around. Erm... that Fran woman said that you could tell us all about getting older. Then I said, 'Maybe the old de4/5's gone to sleep at the keyboard? Then I said, 'If that doesn't bring heer back, nothing will!' *Ducks*
http://www.quote-puzzler.com/default.a sp?refer=X2Q1RM
can I e-mail people 2 c if they can help me personally?
jac, i missed that too!
age really doesn't have much to do with working the grid. it's learning new words and playing well. ask for clues if you need help.
it's a group of word games - a bunch of the babblers play there too
it doesn't take hours to play either stephie, lots of fun.
penguin, you could, but i for one probably wouldn't answer you in a timely manner.
Log's moving fast, Fran, I guess.
hi jac!
maybe i'll try it out later
i like your icon clue jac, mine's really easy, but i loved the picture.
er6/18?
i like the colors of both of yours, fran and jac
stephie, a list of mistakes in a book
er+ rodent + first vowel =er6.18
I love the smell of lemon ze4, Fran.
thanks ping
thanks!
yw
yw
fran, I'm not an old de**! I'm just an ex-babe.
i love all citrus
i like pie
jilli - it was me that called you an old de**. LOL. An ex-babe? Surely not? You are a fine wine.x
jilli, jac called you that, everyone was talking about getting older and all i said was you probably had the most to add on the topic, but you weren't around.
I mean, Jacula.
ok... 64 left and losing steam
omg Chip is still online I saw his icon thingy on the who's online thing
Sorry I missed that discussion. Old is a state of mind, IMHO
lol, that's where heather pooped out too smooth!
you can do it smooth!
Chip!
penguin, if you don't log off, your name stays on the list.
lol really? i'm just tired from a long work day i think
jilli - exactly!
77 left and i'm losing steam too
turn up the heat!
stoke the tinder boxes.
81 left and I'm determined! Come on guys!

i gotta clue 4 s words
lol
FULL STEAM AHEAD!
woo hoo stephie!!!!
pe5/16?
you can do it, you can do it, you can do it
go ping! go stephie! go smooth!
Ping's being the engine whistle.
2day I speed on the highway and got caught by a cop yesterday I s*** on the highway and got caught by a cop
stephie, take a letter off of pe6/27 that is the name of a university.
steam engines are OLD! But they still chug along...
pe5/16 = hidden. It's French.
stephie, pe+ toys * us + fee you pay for membership, but drop the last vowel
thanks!
pe5/16 is also LOST in french
very good penguin
stephie, that the base for the next 3 words
penguin - if you are 9 you must have been speeding on your heelys or skateboard, or bike. Unless you're a car thief??
thanks, i needed those p's too
I had them all except the 5.
i only have a bike
what are heely's - skates?
ping, they look like sneakers, but they have wheels in the heel
heelys r shoes with a wheel in the heel
Why are tr5/18's always '8' or '9'? I mean, logically, you'd think they'd be '6' and arrive in threes.
i think i'd break my neck if i tried those!
i don't know how the kids stay up on them.
i will b back in a bit bye every1
lbd -- love your icon -- my mother used to tell me about the du** storms in Peking (now Beijing) -- horrible for a neatnik like her (although she didn't have to do any du**ing because she had a Boy to do it
lbd - the wheels only work if you lift your toe off the ground. (That might be interesting when you go up a step.:(.)
bye penguin
later penguin
brb
cyal8r penguin

re7/36 -- past tense of re6/21

ish, which one?
et5 & 6 -- Chopin wrote them
both
Ish - Elton John did a song called Carla Et***. Try googling that.
musical studies or exercises
e+ don't give me your attit***! then plural
A very sick #4 just made his way downstairs. Propped up on the La-Z-Boy at the moment. :(

y/w, Ish.
which one penetrated, ish?
Coughing so hard he's throwing up. Went to bed fine, just a few hours ago.
poor lil tyke and poor lori! it happens Ish.
I am back
whoooping cough, lori?
hi penguin
May I have the first se 5/10 please?
Lori - my daughter's been doing the same for 3 weeks. Is on steroids now to help cure it. It can last up to 8 weeks. Not Whooping Cough, as I first suspected, but just another of 'those bugs going around'.
both of my kids just got over the flu. There has been an epidemic of it in Arkansas. Now my husband thinks he might be getting it!
more than one place to put your bum Lori
Jilli, it's possible, but the fever is slight. The hub had it, I got it today. Just a sever cold methinks, but I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it.
se5/10 more se** (drier)
Ask your doctor for an inhaler to help. My daughter hasn't got one yet, but she will do if it doesn't stop soon!
lori, my toddler breathe easier with a vaporizer and that vicks stuff in it
any1 want a clue 4 a st word?
lb, as much as that clue made my mind wander, I'm still not getting it....
the norvo virus is wicked, i hope no one gets it. also check for rsv. another one of those nasty virus that just knocks the wind out of the sails.
Lori - unless she's making the characteristic 'whoop' sound getting her breath between coughs, it's not Pertussis.
lori, s+ consumes
I wsa 25 when I got it. Had to be off work for 6 weeks because it's a notifiable disease, apparently.
Thank ye all, sitting up has already made a difference, the Vicks is rubbed on. I will dig out the vaporiser (good idea, I know I have one somewhere)
se 8's ?
Oh lb! Hand me a whole school of fish! (slaps forehead)
whooping cough is highly contagious! our neighbor has had it now for 4 weeks.
ish -- see jac's icon
The vaporiser may well help, Lori, but an inhaler is a different thing. It's a spray that gives a quick burst that opens the airways.
not good, lori,just not good
a jagged edged knife is one too Ish
ok... I am really losing it... but any clues for the last RE 4/5?
<*))<< >8))<< <9))<< <6))<< how's that lori?
Sadly, very appropriate lb.....
smooth - holiday re**.
I think I have a re clue
re + Post Script
Those ladies, smooth, that are never there when you need them!
smooth you have senators and congressmen and they are your re** to Washington
jac I'm lost what does your icon have to do with se 8

ish, click on the icon
Ish - the edge of the leaf is se8/45 like a bread knife.

later jill
I go from "to tear into two" to "sens and congressmen"
ibd I got that one but it doesn't go to
smooth, like one of our pirate girls but put a consonant at the en*
8 letters
I have that one, dawg
hello everyone
smooth do you have the re + International Fellowship
Hello All, back for some more ... only 208 left :)
alright, lets see if the pwer of alcohol helps me finish this out
hi wis
Ish - it does if you give it the past tense and the verb form.
Ish, plural and past tense
no dawg, I don't think so
i'll be back in a few minutes. i have to put up a tent in my living room for my boys!
BRB - need to round up the felines into their beds.
hi wizard

hey mom hows it goin
Hi Mom!!
Hi Caligirl
Hi SMDNJV
you can do it Lori! race smooth!
hi cali
hey ping
hi cali
I'm rooting for all to finish
smooth is too fats. At least that's what I hear... :)
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ping
he's fast with the flash is what i heard Lori! lol
Well, that was easy... for a change! Silver & white tabby didn't go behind the 'Very Large, Very Hard To Move Settee' and the black cat, who must have been a chameleon in her last life, didn't merge into the background. They're both shut in the utility room in their beds now.
The ta's have been cancelled due to lack of interest, so that puts me closer to finishing!
lol lori said a word... not on purpose, though... and lori... I'm totally not fast tonight.. normally I am... but I'm torn between tv and the grid
hey ibdawger
192 words 2 go yippee
What's grabbing your attention on TV, smooth?
Very well done, penguin.
Smooth_Papa, I did see your reply earlier, but I was running out the door in a bit of a hury
i'd say lori needs the penalty box, but she's got a sick kid and that's penalty enough
188, for me penguin
Psych now, and house next. :)
lbd - it is indeed!
ol welcome back. I've been totally vegging tonight after a long day
smooth - Music channels?
I love psych
keep up the good work penguin and madi!
and monk b4 it
any clues for the tu's?
no jac, psych is ok... and house is the American show starring Hugh Laurie... i assume you know him?
hillary - the tu's are air holes for blast furnaces.
lori, you should really call a doctor it sounds serious
t + b**** beware. then add a vowel at the end to make the 6
tu5/16 is like the person that purchases but change first letter. tu6 = the same but add a vowel to the end.
the things you learn playing this game...
caveat emptor, lbd.
any i word clues?
any i word clues?
back to finish
Hi Andree

jane, no. the first pr8 is before + the first ad5
no, harp, it doesn't. pr - before + first ad5
oops..hang on..had trouble with profile and forgot to go back to it!
Haha, Jac -- why don't you too? I knew a guy in NY who wrote them under a female alias
andree does it have the prefix that the other pr8's have?
clue for the 9 please that isn't the re + not soften word

Congrats Lori

#4 is sleeping better now that he's sitting up. I am off to the couch next to him for the night.
no problem, harpj!
My main two guys, jilli, are Scottish romantic fiction authors. Both are big guys who appear on the surface not to have a romantic bone in their bodies.
Thank you all very much for your help this eve, or I would never have finished.
well done lori!
goodnight lori
Have a great evening everyone!
Hope you both get some good rest Lori

jilli - almost unbelievably, they are both the former.

Boston, Lincs, UK or Boston as in where the Strangler came from?
brb, have to make the rice so my husband will fry the fish for dinner.
witchcraft with a twist of techology
okay hurshy. It goes like this: everything is made up of other things. We call these things particles. The particles are made up of more particles. It's particley tough to understand...
the technology woudl be used
I used him for a clue today on another forum for a music quiz.
i take my witchcraft with a twist of lime

Madi: Japanese unit of money, plural form
The reason I ask is because the two lads are in the mess they're in for conducting a forbidden alchemy thingy...what does one call it?
Hurshy I thank the lord alchemy doesn't exist lol but honestly If i had alchemy my disposal I would recreate the world

perfit
we already havr that [from madi and me]
Yeah, that's it...human transmutation...
is this a deep discussion? (i just got phoebe back to sleep.... babysittin' grandma here and hope to finish). hi
Ron: the tile stats tell you how many words begin with a particular tile, and how many of them you have found.
Ish - Jamie's got that one in a cocked hat already. You and your mates are too late!
The word stats tell you how many words have that number of letters in them...
« Return to Today's Puzzle Rules of Play OBJECT To list as many words of the highest point value as you can find among the random assortment of letters in the cube grid. PLAYING Search the puzzle board for words of four letters or more. When you find a word, add it to your list using the form below the puzzle. Words are formed from adjoining letters. Letters must join in the proper sequence to spell a word. They may join horizontaly, vertically or diagonally to the left, right, up or down. No letter cube, however may be used more than once within a single word. TYPES OF WORDS ALLOWED The only words that are allowed are those that can be found in the Enable dictionary. You may look for any type of word - noun, verb, adjective, adverb, etc. Plural nouns are acceptable, as are all verb tenses. Words within words are also allowed. (e.g. revolt and volt) TYPES OF WORDS NOT ALLOWED Proper nouns, abbreviations, contractions, hyphenated words and foreign words that are not in the Enable Dictionary. SCORING AND WINNING Every night at midnight CT, the day's puzzle closes. The high score list for the day will then appear showing everyone's total score. SCORING Each tile has a point value. To determine the score for a word, the point-value for the length of the word is multiplied by the total letter values for the word: 4-letter word = 1 x Points 5-letter word = 2 x Points 6-letter word = 3 x Points 7-letter word = 4 x Points 8-letter word = 5 x Points 9-letter word = 6 x Points Example: Word: BABBLE Points: 3 x (3+1+3+3+1+1) Total: 36 pts. The winner is the player who has the highest point total when the puzzle closes. THINGS TO REMEMBER * The same word found in two different areas of the puzzle may not be used. * The "Qu" cube counts as two letters. * Points are awarded for both the singular and plural forms of a noun here you go ron
