te7 x 4
I'll stay out of chat again! <blush>
don't, Nef, it is the site, it is not you :)
again I will give my opinion: cursor behaviour should be changed. After posting in the log, cursor should jump back to the Add Word window. Easy as that.
Thanks Sprite - got it
yay Hugs! Got all the biggies then, right?
but Sprite, the Add word box won't let us chat as much!
yep... I did have all the te7's
so if you want to chat some more, you click on the chat box again :D
always a nice milestone, having all the biggies :)
if that WAS a feature, wouldn't it cut down on the amount of chat posts people make?
must go bye all
ty sprite & hug got all the 7's now... 28 words left and I am slooooowing down
of course not, why should it?
down to 9 and not going fast anymore either, Dee. But we will get there ;)
I need 12
we wouldn't be making all the entries in the wrong box -AND apologising for them! :D
lol sprite how you can clue, chat, and babble is literally beyond me... amazing
multitasking, LOL - we women seem to be good at that
oh Nef, you are right, that would make for lesser posts, LOL.
I've reached a dead end, better get some sleep, might look different in the morning
I think I may be too old to do all that as quickly as you do LOL
sleep well, flosey!
goodnight all
goodnight all

that's the right one, thanks!
it has be5/14? I would've sworn that was a brand name
it says Bingo in the definition - ?!
but the top E and the poetic word is baffling me -- can only think of a 3-letter one so far.
et 6 forever
it means forever Jilli - normally ends in al
and ty lynxxx for the other O
lynxxx, never seen that use, but I guess so... even if to me it means anti gas stuff!

hi jac
Good morning, Jacula. This is a vintage babble grid.
Thaks and hi Jac
Hello Haz. It is, isn't it? Have you finished yet?
Not quite - 18 to go.
I think the best way to handle it is just be honest - "We're short on cash so if you don't mind can we chip in for food"
nice Icon Jac!
Yep partner is doing that now, i got a fifty of him that went straight to the boob bank (down my top) till i find my purse
Thanks, saph. Lovely dog! Is it yours?
yes that is my Dakota
Saph your Dakota reminds me of a big headed black/white collie dog, still very cute
lol his nickname is bighead
he's a border collie husky mix
He would be called 'boof head in Aussie land
brb im going to go find stuff thats cheap accross the road
ok herin

Hello Ishult
26 te's? Yucky. ***Off to put on fresh coffee***
Been at it for hours, still need 70 and not a sign of any 8's or the 9?????
I've got to 82 and think I need a cuppa
Lori I can take your weather if you like
The 8 and 9 are to do with thin layers of wood
You can have it herin!
The8's are very straight forward ve's.
***dives in to the te's***
We may not the word may get rain on saturday, i think i have to keep threatening the naked rain dance in the yard
yeah newbarker - its just up the road - lovely for a walk on a nice day - we get loads of good lemur photos up there
thanks Frances
You're welcome Ishult
the words I find are always at the last place I look; trying to look at the last place sooner
I should go this year as I've not been since I was at school and that was too long ago!

has anybody heard from taffy bach today??
not me; sorry;
No terran? Should it be proper, then? Dang.
8s: re;ro;ro;te;ve (ve 9/72)
te 8 is a new word for me.
7s: er;ev;re;re;sn;so;te;te;te;te
LoriP, are there many -ette words in the puzzle? I tried teenette (maybe a little teenager), but they didn't like it.
take off the ette, and add his and h**s Sherbie. Then plural
if anybody sees taffy bach on later, do you think you could tell him to call his daughter please? I am on a computer that is filtered and it wont allow me to email him. Its important.
no -ette
Will do georgia
LoriP, yup, that's a good one. Better than my made-up word.
actually, this is megan, his daughter Im just using her name. But thank you, that would be greatly appreciated.
Georgias my mom
made up words are fun Sherbie!
You're right, LoriP
LoriP,
Lori made up words are great as half of the words i monkey actually work
Me too, herinfernallady. I'm always looking up a word I've found to see what it means. There's one I need to look up today: t 6 starting with ***ible and ending with the cracker ***z. Wonder what it means.
It's official. I hated the te's today.
click on the little ? at the side of the word and then itll tell you
You sure about that Lori
It didn't have an answer.

er7 clue, please? Hi infernal, Sherbie, Lori, pida
Herinfernallady, it's probably one of those words whose definition I'll never remember because I never use it anyway.
hey hyra, i wanna pet the kitty
He'd love that!
er 7 -- mistake + sluggo and n****
Hey sherb it means
1. One of the metal rings on a harness through which the reins pass. 2. A ring on an animal's collar, used for attaching a leash.
but the ammerican spelling
i think
Middle English teret, variant of toret, from Old French, diminutive of tour, tor, a round; see tour
herinfernallady, that's a really good word. Thanks. I will try to remember it.
its ok google um for example tea - meaning and there should be a meaning of some type
thanks Rabble. Still looking for it. What do you mean by sluggo?
Herin..., yes googling is a handy tool.
Sherbie but enable has decided that the correct spelling Terit is Denied
cartoon; google it
I am google foo master
OK. I've never heard of it but off to Google I go
Herinf..., silly enable!
Curiosity got me, and I needed to know what the first ro 8 meant (the compound word). Neat-o
Sherbie: First rule of babble:- no one questions enable
Gbabble is that cartoon and i feel lucky as a google or a normal search?

Its a new one from Dairy Farmers Available in 98 per cent fat-free or regular, the range includes unique country flavours such as Field Strawberries, Orchard Peaches & Mango, Bush Honey and Country Vanilla to more truly indulgent flavours like Citrus Cheesecake and Passionfruit and they dont taste yogurty
hm. now HOW did I get an empty line above my text.... been trying to figure that out for ages - and there I go and do it and I dont know how I did it...
Con you did a sin, you spilt coffee
lol - sounds like me con
indeed herin! just three drops, no damage done... 'phew'
re 6/18, the 2nd one, after latin-ish sounding word please?
aw, I was hoping you could tell me wolvie...! ;)
but still, i upended the coffee the other day on the floor
Oh hi, ConX! I'm very in-and-out today. Nice to "see" you!
it goes with life herin...
don't have many re's lori....
hi monkey! how did your presentation go last week?
No big deal Herin... i broke the whole cofee carafe a couple of weeks ago. These things happen.
Coffee carafe epp thats bad
Teh presentation went OK. I thought it was pretty bad--lost my place twice, got bogged down in Dutch grammar somewhere else and let out a hysterical titter, etc.--but the teacher said it was fine, much better than the last one I did a couple of months ago. So I am happy that I passed.
lori - which re sounds latinish to you?
re + 3rd letter + **ara, or crown
ah, sounds as if you were nicely human monkey! Those are always the best kind of presentations...
Thsts great monkey: do you speak fluent dutch yourself as a first langauge or as a second langauge
***gawd I hate re's***
re 6 - make money again
Well, errm, yes, I was hoping that beoing completely unprepared would result in a nicely off-the-cuff feel to the thing...
ah. my next re 6/18 is the past tense one of te** (rip) - but I just started the re's
ty kazz
ah thanks lori! that helped me get 3 more re's meaning to lay down, or to rest or to stop work at late age...
Herin: fluent by testing standards but still get all bogged down when trying to simply converse, and my grammar is all over the place. technically it's my third language but I seem to have forgotten all my Spanish...
3 off the stop work con
Thank ye muchly Kaz, etal!
Wow monkey thats amazing
make that 4
cinxshun there are 4 res about finishing work when you are older
***steals all re clues, like a thief in the night***
:) kazzer *goes looking*
Well, I'm a citizen here now so I'd better speak the language. And the courses I am taking are entirely in Dutch.
clue for ve 8 please?
I just had halibut last nite, so I am set. ;-)
wolvie: the one who puts fake layer of wood on
Wolvie do you have ve6 thin layer, if so add on to that for the ve8 and ve9
ve 8 is more of the layered wood
ahh - ty con
someone who adds ve 6 to furniture to make it look good
jeez - like the re guy. le sigh
pl for the 9
yep - just did that - ty again con
and kazz

hmm, i'm trying to think of a good clue
I have an re5/12. It is like the first five letters of a word meaning to set things straight.
nevermind, figured it out
ok, i'm having a rough time with the et 6/18... any clues?
actually i'm having a rough time with my last 4 words, who am i kidding, lol
never ending, motherboy
I have no et's. There's no chance I'll be finishing this grid, but when I am here I'll help with words I have.
thanks atalante!
Hi Ata how are you?
Oops, have to go help little Walter fidn pictures of ornge fish in these cards a friend gave him.
tired! but I ws cheered up on the train by hearing the girl opposite me speak welsh all the way home
Where have you been?
just up to London, to the office for a DULL meeting!
shazaam! fireworks! thanks for all the help!
do you guys know what the nine letter word is
Its too warm for boring meetings!!LOL
Congrats Mother!
it *is*. very much. especially when a lorry alarm went off for 1/2 hour!
what is the 9 letter word
anybody
Flosey, I see your photo is but a year older than mine
The nine letter word is an extension of the person that puts a thin layer of wood on something
ve 9 has to do with thin layer of wood applied to furniture
thats a word? duh!
The "Y" words have me a bit stumped.
phantom word: venom
or venin!
also venison
yi 4 is a verb meaning to growl or snarl, Have to ask my dog whether she ever uses it
kit -- Yi4 and Yi5 -- the 5 is a plural of the 4
Odd words those :)
hi gang! i have typed venerate at least 5 times today...talk about a phantom
Hi miss
and venereal
I have asked my dog Inge - and she says polite dogs never use the y word
LOL ursh!!!
i always want Sona to be a word -- its the name of a laser hair removal place that i always hear ads for...heh
apparently its a Scottish dog thing
Well then according to Candy - they are impolite
I'm a bad golfer, so I know that retee is indeed a word!
scottish terriers certainly are!
heh, i "re" a lot of things in my life that babble says arent real words!
I didnt know that the dods in Scotland spoke a different language to Welsh dogs
they obviously do!
*dogs*
clue on "hawaiian goose???
Caitlyn - I wonder if scottish dogs rey----
yeah...Welsh dogs say "ruff!" but scottish dogs say "Rrrrrrrrrruff!"
and are they yi**ers?
granny max - repeat first two letters
My dog is from Cardiff so he barks in a very rough way!!
how stupid - ne4/4 - sorry grannymaxx
ursh, thanks for passing on the quote from your dog. Mine said she doesnt talk Scottish, or Welsh, or any other foreign language.
my next dog will come from Cardiff. when I have a free vast amount of money to spend on a dog!
actually, welsh dogs probably say "cwqlrtpfghrccqlqlwr!!" cause only the welsh could pronounce that. ;)
lol evanadine - true
maybe they go "crwth!"
LOL
yep, definitely o vowels
*no vowels
I think you're all barking mad!
i have a friend from wales. and no lie, the name of his high school is " Ysgol y Creuddyn " i have no idea how youd say that...
This chat is getting very ruff
going to the Y to "refresh". BBL
sore
isgol i creuthin. kinda
ooppss
evan Ysgol means school
"dd" is "th" yowza!
what is a 9 letter word
yup, that's a big welsh thing
course, the welsh also have a town named: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyr ndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch
I always like ystyby as a word
clue to dd?
I can tell you this, it starts with Ve. Sorry that is all i know so far
phantom word - recite! (Apparently I think if I keep trying it it will magically appear in the grid!)
got it! the 9 that is..
A 9 letter word means there are 9 letters in it!! Sorry coyote man..couldnt resist that one..its ve9 to do with a thin layer of wood on furniture and the people who do it
something like the small white church next to a babbling brook, if I remember part of that town.
VE9 -- plural of the 8 -- the person who puts on faux wood paneling (the paneling itself is the 6)
yup. St Mary's and St Tysilio. one's by a rapid whirlpool I think *tries to remember*
BGL i even tried recity after giving up on ricite!!
*recite
thanks
"Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of Saint Tysilio near the red cave."
ty. knew there was a whirlpool in there somewhere!
I wish I knew more Welsh words
in New Zealand, theres: Tetaumatawhakatangihangakoauaotamatea urehaeaturipukapihimaungahoronuku pokaiwhenuaakitanarahu which translates to: "The place where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, who slid, climbed, and swallowed mountains, known as land eater, played his flute to his loved one."
Awesome Clue evana :)
Back to dogs - quick question - Are you having problems with dog food being withdrawn from shelves after number of animals have taken ill or died??
Thats lovely evan
I havnt heard that before ursh
hello all :)
must take rest
Hi rae
and in Thailand, theres: Krungthepmahanakornamornratana kosinmahintarayutthayamahadilokphop no pparatrajathaniburiromudomrajaniwesmah asatharn amornphimarnavatarnsathitsakk attiyavisanukamprasit which translates to: The land of angels, the great city of immortality, various of devine gems, the great angelic land unconquerable, land of nine noble gems, the royal city, the pleasant capital, place of the grand royal palace, forever land of angels and reincarnated spirits, predestined and created by the highest devas.
ursh - luckily purina hasn't recalled their products, so it's had no effect on my babies
large recall of Menu dog foods here in US
apparently bad wheat glutin in product
ursh~ both cats and dogs have died from tainted food. Fortunately my animals don't eat the "good" stuff anyway! :)
more killings!
ursh -- ive heard about it on the news...several thousand pets have passed away because of it. :(
evan How do you know these place names?
has anyone admitted to making a mistake with the pet food yet?
Raelite - we have just had Vets Choice removed and my dog has been eating it for some time - so gone back to cooking for her - old fashioned way
citer
woops - sorry
i knew about the welsh one...googled it + found the others. :)
citer
sound slike a good idea, ursh....I'm always nervous about cooking for my dogs and cat though, will they get the nutrients they need?
apparently all 3 claim to be the longest, but they say *technically* the Thai one is the winner...
sorry
how many e 6's and are there any 7's or 8's?
evan that's a gorgeous pic of you and your neph!!
Though you must be having problems - cos most of the foods removed are imported
purina has a factory here in Canada, and all their products are safe - no wheat gluten in them
thanks rae! everyone get a good look now, because i think its time to change to a picture of my other nephew! :)
several babblers have lost cats and dogs from it
gotta give them both screen time :)
*trots off to change icon*
my cat had something wrong with him for a couple of days but he seems fine now
Animals here suffered from renal failure after eating Vets Choice but seems to be a different food every week - therefore the old fashioned cooking - giving dog raw bones as well
It's nice to see a picture of you with clothes on, evanadine. (I'm joking!)
*trots back in with a picture of my other nephew* time to refresh!!
ursh - I don't want to tell you how to take care of your pets but I would be careful giving them raw bones
Haz, youre SOOOOO funny. *said drolly*
;)
cows are often impregnated with hormones - raw bones could have residue in the marrow
evan lovely photo
Thanks evanadine - I couldn't resist.
Oh Lord raelite - which way to go??
I know - it's such a debate! you could probably get organic bones
thanks caitlyn. and :P Haz!
Hub has called "dinner is ready" - i cooked the veg etc and he cooked t bones over fire - enjoy and cu at the flip
but you should cook them - boil them in stock so they'll have more delicious flavour!
but then cooked bones can splinter ...
bye ursh ..enjoy!!
those big cow bones should be okay
Yep round and round we go Ata
Husband won't let our dog have any bones.... except the rawhide variety.
any clue for the na5/16 and the er7/40?? last 2 I need
why does he think they aren't good, Haz? I'm always wondering whether bones are good or bad
er7/40 - the state of being mistaken.
He thinks they're such a potential choking hazard that they're not worth the risk.
I don't give my dogs bones because the dogs usually end up with the trots
Plus they can cause bowel blockages etc.
got it haz...thanks
I don't give them treats - they get my love and affection
ewwww didnt realise that bit
Well said rae..
So, having spoiled everyone's appetite with talk of bowel blockages and the trots, I'll go and serve up dinner to my family! Back later - Glad you got it Ouwachita.
:) peace out, haz ;)
bye Haz! go and give Spangle lots of treats ;)
missing a C -- i have ce4x1 and ci4x2, ci5x1
afternoon all..*s*
Yes, she gets love, affection, treats, but no bones. BYe!
Hi rolin!!
another ci4 evanadine
only er I can think of for mistaken is erroneous and it isn't there!
I give Hobbit lots of treats, but they tend to be normal dog dinner type things just at unexpected times
My dog i so old he can only eat soft foods now
awwwwwwww
cant figure out a 3rd Ci4. :/
DONE...anyone need a clue??
NM -- pass my the fish!
yes
need too many clues :(
hello everyone --- do I need a new icon? --- am I invisible? :)
evan ci4/7 bigger thana town
i cant see the y's
i can see you cyber!
Congrats Ouwachita
what do you need, nan?
ER + another hook + F****-SCHM**** !
sorry evan..but that last statement makes me laugh
just that I said hello and no one noticed :)
Oh nan...sorry and hi
i try, rolin. ;)
any clue to the third A, I've got an an4 and an ar5
F****-SCHM****?
im so glad you asked that nan
another ar 5
I only popped in for 10 minutes an hour ago..must do food now ..bye all
hey all! any clue for the en6?
hey, it makes sense if you know it...heh
lbd en plus whats at the end of a plant
lol its fab, evan
how about another clue for the er 7 --- the only word I can think of needs a u
Paris Hilton things shes all F****-SCHM**** but i think shes all Trash-SCHMashy!
nm, found it. done
still makes no sense, eva
like N**** Reagan
yeah, yeah, yeah...Atalante's clue is better...heh
ty atalante
nah, yours is :)
mine might be if you already KNOW the word...but not for giving clues FOR the word...heh
I got it from that!
glad it worked, then. :)
Hi all, missing an ro4/4 in the beginning, have the horse color *cringing and hoping it is not an easy word*
sheesh, I found it! so NM
first RO4/4 i have is the bottom of any plant
I hate when I miss the obvious ones
first one I have is the horse colour
does anybody have a 9
ve 9
yes it's a ve 9
there is a ve 6-8-9 combo
Has FranMag been on lately, haven't seen her in a long time
down to dreaded 14 bbl
down to 43 and going for the list -- don't have all day for this!
en 6?
en6/18 - help a sprout grow out the bottom
ty vicuna
My pleasure, cybernan.
heh.. I'm not past 50 yet :(
anymore hints
datrob, has to do with putting a thin layer of decorative wood on the surface...
onemore and I might have it
VE + sounds like opposite of "far"
any hints on the "easier" v's? I've got the ve6,8,9 and a ve4.. what are the other 3...
morning all! clue for the ar5? I have the one about fire.
or 6?
there's a ve4/ve5 pair that are a major blood vessel
hope it isn't a commong one
OR + RI** and beans
ar5/10 - mountain ridge, ends with homophone of consume food
nan: its like going to work at the _ _ _ _ _ _, replace the f's with r's...
or6 - or + asian grain
ty eva -- had tried it without the last letter
VE4 = VE + im tired, so i think ill go take a **p VE5 = double the first vowel in the above VE5 = take the first vowel + move it to the end
Ah.. I wasn't thinking in latin.
it's been too long since I studied it.
heh, i never studied latin... but you see latin plurals fairly often in this game...
here's some latin for you: CARPE FELIS!
very important warning
seize the cat?
it's not a warning, it's a directive
Here's some more: Veni vidi vici.
ooops carpe isnt a warning is it
caveat emptor, you're thinking of
A warning would be: cave canem
cava felis is the warning!
caveat felis would be the warning.
yes, seize the cat!
when I was in high school, we tended to say "Caveat rannem"
i have 3 cats and i like to seize them
and hug them tight
Seize them and squeeze them.
zacly
Mine would not be very felis about that.
just can't find er7. Anyone got a clue?
so did doc get rid of those trolls?
er7 going wrongness
Dunno. but they don't seem to be around at the moment.
small mercies
It just baffles me that trollism seems to be so fun for them.
It's not even as if they're being witty like crank phone calling or something.
I quite like the one who pretends to be a CSI film-maker, though he's maybe not really a troll, just deluded.
i know, that one was esp random
no, he randomly told vi to go away earlier, and when i said, hey, don't tell vi to go away, he said, shut up hurshy
If you're a bunny fan AND a jigsaw puzzle fan, check out this link: http://www.jigzone.com/z.php?i=A012D78 D839&m=472506AE29.519D03C&z=0
I think he qualified himself as a troll when he began telling people to go away and shut up!
thank you hurshy. Your clue did the trick
definitely trollish.
yeah, the CSI guy is especially trollific
Oh, he must have developed more trollish tendencies than when he started at first. It must be the pressure of Holywood.
trollific and prolific, hehe
I am having the worst time with a re6/18. The second one. Not the one who raises up, or the one who goes to bed. Please help!!
yeah, celebrity can go to your head...
It's do do with getting money for working, Erda.
make money again
its tough being famous, yknow... i mean, im a supermodel over in france... ;)
Oh, for crying out loud!!! I knew it would be something simple like that... Thank you!!!
some famous people went to williams while i was there
only they weren't that famous HERE
Oh, definitely. It's a cutthroat world out there, and what better way to deal than logging onto random chat logs and abusing strangers! lol
one was a big pop star in japan
i like to keep in touch with reality by playing online games like babble with the little people. ;)
You're welcome, or as evanadine would say in her superodel persona in France - de rien...
and one was the son of the Aga Khan (10th richest person in the world!)
Way to keep it real, evanadine!
he dated my RA
she dumped him
hurshy -- id be impressed if he was the son of Chaka Khan! hehe
lol eva
i do what i can, vicuna -- i like to grace you commoners with my presence now and then. ;)
I had (one of?) Mick Jagger's daughters, and Jennifer Connelly, and a couple others in my college class. But none of them hung with me, like evanadine does.
We're so grateful, evanadine. It helps to keep you grounded, doesn't it?
yeah. most celebrities are too vain, but i like to give back to the community. :)
ro 8, please?
Next you'll be adopting a Babbler.
Hi everyone. Ooh, are we playing six degrees?
cyber -- when food goes bad, it is RO6. when it goes worse, its RO8.
ro8 - memorized + not any
only if its a babbler from another country -- theyre all the rage!
ro8/40 - combine a method of learning (old fashioned) with nothing.
We don't have too many Babble orphans, I guess.
But how would you choose, evanadine? Would we submit photos or hard-luck stories?
thanks, vicuna -- that was the one -- and Hax and eva
vicuna -- when youre rich and famous, you can do whatever you want...so if a babbler i want, a babbler i shall adopt!
lol - Both, Haz. She'd need one that looks good in all her paparazzi photos, but also that would make her look particularly generous.
Then you'll be able to post photos of you with your adopted babbler in the chat log. It'll be great!
precisely, vicuna. i mean, i cant adopt a babbler who upstages me -- but whats the point if i adopt someone who looks to be my equal?
ooh, adopt me please, i'm jobless and friendless
Maybe you could adopt a troll and reform it!
Hahahahaha... evan, why not adopt all the poor trolls in Babbleland
*ugh* trolls are too much work. id have to hire a nanny for a troll... i want to adopt a babbler who i can dress up like mini-me!
i have on a shirt, two sweaters and a fleece and i'm still cold. what's wrong with this picture?
So, the babbler has to be small? Shorty springs to mind.
You'll have a nanny in any case. you don't honestly believe celebrities raise their OWN children, do you?
No trousers, hurshy - they'd help?
hey, im better than the AVERAGE celebrity -- hence my babbling -- so i can keep in touch with the common folk
lol Haz!
no i have those too, and a blanket on my lap
and socks and slippers
my mom doesn't believe in heating the house... sigh.
gloves? hat? scarf? ear muffs? snow goggles??
Evanadine, if you adopt hurshy, your heating bills are going to be enormous.
Are you wearing any cats?
if i put on gloves it's hard to type
but actually if they are thinnish ones it might be ok
i'll go get some
You can get those fingerless mitts you can still type, and you'll look more like a Dickensian orphan, too!
haz -- this is true. plus she has 3 cats and i already have 2... this whole adopting-a-babbler idea is getting to be expensive and time-conuming...
ok i am gloved
5 cats starts to sound a bit much, doesn't it? You want a small, unattached, needy babbler.
Okay. Maybe just do a charity fund-raising gig and be done with it.
you might have to get a troll just cause they are younger and smaller and unattached
but then there are college expenses...
Small, unattached, needy... that's starting to sound a little trollish.
cute too, haz, dont forget cute... but not TOO cute. i need to be the most attractive in the publicity shots.
cute too, haz, dont forget cute...
That won't be hard, though, eva, considering how gorgeous you are.
Cute, yes, that has to be considered as well.
trolls are rarely cute...
adopt a spaniel. by far the easiest
so 7?
Someone should start drawing up an advert in BabAnon so that people can apply.
so7 - looks like the quality of sound
But evanadine - this is going to be a permanent adoption, isn't it? Will there be any problems importing illegal aliens?
Problems are publicity, and all publicity is good publicity.
as an extension of the so5?
But what am I talking about - you're a celebrity, aren't you? The rules don't apply!
sonaret
so7 - add the variation of the Mrs Reagan name.
heh... I keep wanting to put in sonnet, and so many other phantom words. :(
thanks, haz
You're welcome, cybernan.
What a high proportion of 6-letter words this grid has!
hey, if madonna and angelina can do it, so can i -- after all, im WAY bigger than they are and so much more likable!
ty haz
good evening everyone, am at work so in and out of grid as usual lol:)
That's true - if they ever came onto babble, we would just tell them, 'You're nothing compared to evanadine'
Hello jean - and glad to help, taffy.
They're probably on her playing right now, Haz, under names like MC1 and Brannie462, and such.
on here, I mean.
*mental note -- brainwashing successful*
Quick - somebody check who's online to see if they're here...
Hi all, back to find my last 11
hello periwinkle:)
Hello, peri.
Hello periwinkle - you're not Angelina Jolie or Madonna in disguise, are you?
(You have such a devious questioning technique, Haz!)
erm, No, Haz, are you?
...no she went to africa for an unrelated reason... ;)
perhaps Anj is really Angelina
No, I'm not either.
LOL Ata
ooh, that WOULD explain why Anj isnt around much anymore...
Now, THERE'S a point. Have you ever worked for MI5, Atalante?
There's a thought! Or Angelsong.
nope, but I think I should have done
or else.... maybe HES a famous model over in france too!!
You'd have been very good.
And Madyh could be Madonna.
good day all any clues for en 6/18 ander 7/40?
if you read periwinkle very slowly i detect a fake brit accent, she is maddona surely
en6/18 - help a sprout grow out the bottom
:-)
en6/18 - is what you hope to happen to seedlings when they begin to grow.
er7/40 - going astray (noun)
tx vicuna
Ok, you got me, taffy, yes I am really maddonna.

nice hot soak might do wonders too Cath, feel better

how can i drop 15lbs in two weeks stid..as long as you are "mothering"
what are you suggesting, stid? trying to make an alcoholic of cathy?
yes, friends list is a "pro feature"
hm. drop 15 lbs in two weeks? probably remove a leg and one breast might do it...
let me see if it will work
lol...a milkaholic
lol....ok...i am not that desparate!
rofl, stid
lol, running and cutting out starches will help
well, I was thinking more of the flavorings I like -- almond flavor, hazelnut, french vanilla...
i don't eat starches..that is what is so frustrating muse....
greetings, all...I have a bizarre question. Does anyone know if Indianapolis, Indiana is in the same time zone as Cleveland, Ohio?
well wouldn't recommend that for longer than 2 weeks anyway, brain needs starch
yummm...warm milk sounds more appealing with additives! ;)
hello anya --
don't know wrath...barely know what time zone i am in....
not all of Indiana is in the same time zone
do you have to be a meber to add people because i do not see where it saysto add them to your list
yes, that is why I am wondering

what are uyou saying momof3?
thank you stidmama. I need to talk to someone in Indy for my project, inge

Has violence broken out while I was away checking my cat isn't murdering anything outside?

*takes careful aim at Jacula with chocolate gun* ready, aim...
inge - Too true in the real world.:(
nite Cath, hagn
later cathy! be good(ish)!
'Bye Cath.
oh, family members can fight each other or dislike each other, but are locked together by family bonds???
i'll try...bye all. givin in and 47
HEY...no thinking about the real world here..this is fantasyland...babbleland, where all is good and right and penalities are served with brownies.
fire, stid!
or would you prefer a chocolate bunny, Jacula? probably one or two left over...
I hope Jac had her mouth open
here in babbleland, i am a size six..don't ruin my fantasy please
*drops behind barricade of marshmallows and hopes Jacula understands the joke...*
Momof3, if you ae dieting, do not make mistakes and go to penalty box
That'd be nice, stid. It'd stop me pinching the giant one that's standing in my daughter's show cubicle in her bathroom. (*wipes splattered chocolate off face and out of newly styled hair*)
ok..dumb question...does chinese tea have caffeine
*shower cubicle, I meant.
i am dieting and i am foul stid!!! LOL i can't stand to be around myself.
mom of three -- size 6? if we're fantasizing, then I get to be a perfect size 8 -- at 5'6", with Marilyn Monroe proportions... LOL
that works for me, too stid..however, i am only 5/2, i think she was a little taller...
wow, stid, better get a larger size babble shirt
(It startled me a little when I went in there to collect laundry. One doesn't often meet 3 foot chocolate rabbits in shower cubicles. Well, I don't... She said it was the only place to keep him out of the sun.)
precisely my point, mom of three -- I dream of being 5'6"... it would make my shoulders more proportional. :-)
well I know the green tea does contain caffeine
i actually have a shape like her, but i have a pot belly due to three little darlings....can't seem to kick it.
did we loose Tasha in this crazy conversastion?
that is just too funny, jacula! I can't even begin to imagine what a bunny that size would do to what's left of my "figure"!
tasha........tasha.....
well, time to work on supper. Back later to finish if I can.
i have been drinking chinese tea lately...and am having trouble sleeping..but i am an insomniac...can't decide if it is the tea, or just a bout
stid - given all the years she spent in the clinic with her anorexia I am thrilled she's eating choccie.
anorexia?? that is tough jac....can't imagine that
it's the tea momo and the babble...and the babble and the tea.....
btw, anya and inge, I found the time for Indianapolis at "timeanddate.com"
stid, make spaghetti and meatballs. Nutty might have some sauce left
It was/is tough, momof3, but we carry on as best we can.
lol ren
jac...i give you alot of credit....hope God carries you through.
inge - the sauce is dead easy to make.
i love food...can't imagine not wanting to eat it.
yea, but I poured a jar of it on nutty's computer when she and I had our last "fight"
mmmm. that sounds good, inge! will ask the boys if they want italian again (had some late last week).
jarred sauce??? please don't say that..i will have nightmares!
the nonly thng I make from scratch is fancy cakes and rouladen
I do use 'jarred' sauce occasionally, but the home-made is nicer, as are home-made meatballs.
okay, hungry now... bye for real! *poof*
i am sorry...i am a snob....LOL...i do practically everything from scratch...i am a freak of nature.
'Bye stid.
momof3 - You're not. I'm the same.
See you later Stid??
me 2 momo - except cheetos.....
jac..doesn't mean i am not..means you are, too LOL
most people i know, think i am nuts..it actually scared bill away, partially...
inge - she won't hear you. She's got her head in the fridge and is eating everything in sight. *grins*
may i please have a clue for the 9 letter word

ok... i need to go workout....i gained 10 lbs...ugh. it just isn't fair how easy it is to "find" it and how hard it is to lose it...
Oh yes, 'error' was another of my phantoms.
where's the refresh on this puter?
i would have thought so too jac
Ooo, phantom: yirteterct
Rennie - How in the hell would we know that? Can't see your keyboard. LOL. F5 maybe?
you probably broke it ren
oops, sorry - that word's actually there. ignore.
i think someone took it off....

Is it a Japanese word, Takuma?
gotcha, jac
oh, so soon, ren? Take care
cle for the 9 letter word pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

Was it something I said?
* thin layer
erk - I was teasing, jac. sorry -- lately, when I've played, it's been early in the morning, and lots of the chat then seems to be devoted to phantoms
fun 9, thanks!!!!
Ah! I see Takuma.
'Bye for now, Rennie.
see ya later, rennie
I have to stop chatting, though -- I have a suspect return key, and I don't want to (once again) flood chat with 10s of blank messages
foskettballs is a 12 letter word

Okay, Takuma. Happy Babbling.

w/b scrabbler
hi Scrabbler
hey scrabs!
Hi Pam, how are you doing?
inge - Well, I read that in my morning paper. Also, from the background on him, it seems it wasn't entirely out of the bounds of possibility that he might do the awful thing he did.
well, scrab, truth to tell, that darned bug is lingering, but I feel much better than i did. how are you
ahhh, bummer, Katie Carlisle died. :(
Hi muse, dawger, nonnie, and EVERYONE here in Babble Land...my migraine is gone so I am much happier than earlier
hey again everyone
Anyone know why it was over 2 hours before he was found after the initial shootings? Or were the police too busy arresting 2 wrong suspects?
Hey KH
hello helen
glad the headache is gone!
Hi Scrabbler, Hell, lbd and anyone else I missed whilst I was out calling for the cat again.
police were following a bad lead
hi Helen!
Jac, apparently he returned to his room and created a video manifesto, and then mailed it to NBC news.
well because he killed the people at random, there wasn't much of a way to know it was him at the time, they were questioning logical suspects
lbd - do you mean kitty carlisle?
it was such a HORRID, HORRID action......
Thanks for the info, folks.
i have felt so sad about it. Not depressed or like I have internalized it, but sad...
I feel the same, pam. My heart aches for the families of these young people.
My son was telling me that one of the victims was a brave lecturer who had survived WW2 only to be shot by a nutter whilst protecting his students. And all those young people with all their lives ahead of them, and the pain for their families, friends and fellow students. Awful. Awful.
Aches...
yes, that is true, holocaust survivor...
hi everybody i'm back for another try
He was a holocaust survivor Jacula
hello grannymaxx!
I agree, Pam. Yes, Dr Librescu survived the Holocaust, and ended up saving the lives of his students--a true hero, among many on Monday
Hursh & mymuse. I know. That's what makes it doubly tragic.
Jac--He survived the Holocaust, emigrated to Israel then here. He took the bullets and told the students to flee. Hero. LIke the students who held the door
HK, yeah, kitty carlisle.
wow, how old was she, dawg?
sadly, i think a huge part of the problem is insane malpractice insurance - considering he was already referred to the school's counseling center, i think there should have been alot more follow-up, if not in the least medication & hospitalization
lbd - I didn't know your surname was 'Munster'. (Re your icon.)
Helen - I agree.
The kid was "lost to follow-up"
it brings up very difficult questions. yes, his writings were disturbing, but there were no explicit threats. what exactly should we do with people like that? we don't arrest kurt vonnegut. are there statistics on how many people who WRITE disturbing things actually DO things? do you need to also fit a certain sort of profile in real life to really give an indication that there is a problem? i mean you can't lock people up who haven't committed a crime, it's not minority report here...
i loved kitty carlisle on 'to tell the truth' :( - she was way up there in years, but every time i saw her recently (last 10 years) she's looked geat!
may i please have a clue for the 8 letter word
may i please have a clue for the 8 letter word
I am with you, hursh
I love kitty carlisle, too
I love kitty carlisle, too
fosket, did you get the one I gave you for the te?
and in this computer age, we should probably find a way for therapists to flag people's SSN, driver's license, or whatever, that they shouldn't be allowed to buy weapons, if the therapist feels they are a danger. i don't think that would be too much of a confidentiality issue... i dunno...
okay, my pic isn't old, but i didn't have time to plan.
That is one reason I chose to not go into psychiatry--too much uncertainty about human behavior
Well Hursh disturbed writing coupled with the fact that he stalked 2 females sends up red flags for me
human behaviour is ever uncertain....
Oh, nutter, who are the hot studmuffins with you?
hurshy - from the little i've heard, there were plenty of signs of psychosis - it is not normal for a person to go around talking to absolutely NO ONE - this is an indication of a vivid internal life & loss of contact with reality - i bet he would have scored off the charts on the, well, 'Detail' score on the Rorshack
me bros scrabs
hursh - I agree but, from what I've read, his behaviour had recently been becoming somewhat violent? Given that he was already on anti-d drugs and in counselling, why was no one keeping more of a watch? It's a difficult question, I guess.
ms carlisle was 96, sorry i was reading email.
Are they interested in a 47 yr old chick, nut? LOL
She was such a classy lady. I loved her on that show.
no
who is to keep the watch? is there enough of a collaboration between psych folks and law enforcement?
handsome fellas nutty
the one on the left i image scrabs ;-)
I loved the way Kitty spoke---so elegant and refined...maybe I should imitate her
evening folks
hursh - I don't know.
hurshy - yes you can have people locked up who haven't commited a crime - if you can show proof they are a danger to themselves or others - mandatory psych testing should have been an absolute requirement for him to stay in school - it's just like with child sexual abuse - rather to err & say something than say nothing at all
thank dawggy, they're the other men in my life

Tomorrow AM I have to testify in Family Court on behalf of a patient that was abused by her Dad--he is demanding rights to see her but the kid doesn't want to see him---I will argue for at most supervised visits
thanks
funny te word...
hind sight guys, and best not to judge v.tech or the people involved. I'm sure they are doing plenty of questioning themselves.
haven't the sooo lax gun laws got anything to do with all this
scrabbs - my sympathies, always unpleasant business - how old is your patient?
poor child...
Scrabbler - That's a tough one. Surely, if the abuse is proved, he has NO rights?
if the father abused the child and she doesn't want to see him, I don't think she should have to see him.
She is 8 and a bright little girl
thanx
andree, you couldn't pay me to deal with your gun laws.
yw fosket
andree---the VA laws are among the most lax in this country....
andree - absolutely not - as a matter of fact he never would have attempted this if everyone had a gun
awww, sing a song to the little "feather" for me :)
I agree, nonnie. I wish children were more respected
*applauds hk!!!*
I agree, helen
may i please have a nother for a 8 letter word
I disagree, helen.
help with both ar words please
Nutty - Not laying blame from this side of The Pond, just trying to make sense of what happened.
out of wistful curiosity, was this a good grid?
may i be anti clash, and suggest we not debate guns here? i fear it could be trouble.
Maybe had he had to wait for a thorough background check and had to have been trained, licensed, and etc....
i believe that gun safety ought to be a mandatory topic in high school these days, along with practical lessons on how to open bank accounts & balance a checkbook & driver's ed
I'm finding it difficult, feather
heavens no jac, i would never assume that.
Violent people can find ways to kill others--look at suicide bombers
but, it's all hindsight... and, I am from a family of expert markspeople., all of whom support licensing
ok, that makes me feel better nonnie! (i'm staying out of the gun debate!)
ar5/10 (1st) sounds like a Yorkshireman asking if you're okay. ar5/10 (2nd) = deliberate fire starting.
clues a 8 letter word please
I agree, helen. It's not a right, the right is to form a militia. FOr the individual, there should be renewals, gun safety courses, etc.
yes scrabbs, that is very true, if someone is intent on killing they will find a way, but in the meantime, i believe we ought to be teaching kids to respect the danger of guns by teaching gun safety, just like we respect nature by teaching lifeguards, & other emergency type things like what to do in a tornado
2nd ve 5/16 ?
reticent is an 8 letter word
re8/40 = the people who leave their job after working into the golden years!
Again, helen, I agree.
Actually folks, I think nutty might be right about not having a gun laws debate on here. BabAnon is the place or that, most likely.
yes pam, i agree
majmom, latin plural of the ve4.7 above it.
*place for that, I meant.
trust me, i have strong pro gun opinions and could thoroughly anger people with them. i'd rather not here. thanks jac.
69 to go - going for the list now
ty ibdawger
jac! you winked at me! lol, i like your icon.
many more than that to go, helen!
Thanks, feather.
y i please have a 8 or 7 letter clue
howdy all
clue for the 1st ve 5/16?
interesting tangent... there was an article or book i heard about called "the most dangerous kids in america" where the author took a look first at some inner city kids, and then talked about these rich girls overheard having a conversation where one girl said her father owned a store, and another girl said something disparaging like, "your father actually has to WORK?"... and the question was, who ARE the most dangerous kids in america?
may
sigh, ok, off to do report cards for a bit. i'm sure i'll be checking in when i get tired of them.
What scares me, on a daily basis, is seeing so many sad, lost, angry kids that are not getting the love and guidance that they need to deal with emotional regulation and the challenges of life
any clues for that Y up in the corner>
feather - are we going to get an icon with your 'little feather' scan on it?
hey jbp
lol, hursh!
nut - i have same opinions as yours, but i must say, that the debates i've had on babble, whatever the topic, have always been courteous & insightful, and moreover respectful - i think that reflects, us, the type of people who come here
i have u/s pics, but none on the computer. i don't have a scanner
i am sure, scrabbler.
when you tire, sing a song to little feather, lol!
yi** what welsh dogs say.
ro 8/40 = ro4/4 + another word for nada, zip, zero
may i please have a clue for a 7 or 8 letter word pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
hee, he liked melinda last night on idol. started kicking a bunch on her song
fosket, have you tried lickety's list? It really is very helpful.
smart kid
um i don't know what corgis or other welsh dogs say...
Hursh - must admit, I wondered that myself when reading the report yesterday. 'The popular people vs. the ordinary people.' It's rife even in schools, never mind colleges.
just running gut feelings on this hk, you're right of course, but i think closely following this tragedy, you'll find people more emotional on the topic.
fosket, why don't you try finding the smaller words first, you might surprise yourself when you find the bigger ones.
fosketball, there have been clues. i'm not even playing right now, and have seen several go by.
one of the injured students was a graduate of my husbands highschool.
yi+ double consonant Jbp
ok, off. *poof*
scrabs & hursh - sadly, true enough! not enough time fostering healthy feelings in our children
feather - that's a shame. It would be nice to see little feather.
lol, oh THAT kinda welsh. thanks lbd
can we call the little feather "downy"?
a lot of people assume I am anti gun, because of other lefty thoughts. I am not anti gun, but pro gun safety adn training and the revocation of a gun license should someone fall astray....
thx for ar clue jac, dont get the yorkshire one
sorry, nut, that must be hard at your hubby's school
any other clues for a 8 letter word
(i lied) nutty named him percival ignatious, so i'm going with percy for now, till he's born. i'm superstitous, and don't like to use real name choices!
couldn't say...i don't know anyone there.
Andree - you obviously haven't read 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'. LOL.
any clues for the 1st ve 5/16?
LOL pregster.
seriously this time....stepping away from the babble screen.....*POOF*
may i please have a clue for a 8 letter word
I found the ro8 recently clued--how about the other ro8?
pam - absolutely! i was taught to shoot by my college boyfriend who had been in the army for 4 years so he could get college paid for - he made me learn how to take the gun apart, clean it, put it back together, a big lecture on NEVER pointing the gun at a person & other safety stuff before he ever took me to the range the first time
FOSKET go look at lickity's clues please
i heard a columbine survivor was a student at VT....
Ambi, v+ double vowel+ are you a **tural blonde?
heck - he even taught me how to make bullets, we made our own bullets, we was poor kollege kids
the other ro 8 means more spoiled
i don't like likitys clues i don't understand it
thanks again lbd
ro8 no. 1 sounds like a bad way of saying 'wrote nothing'. ro8 no. 2 is more decayed.
last one from me fosket because I still need 1 myself, ve8/55 = the person who puts the thin layer of wood on furniture, perhaps
My dad carried a concealed weapon in NYC in the 70's and 80's, is a rifle an d pistol expert, my mom a rifle expert.
thanks ibdawger
tfb fosket.
Weapons were NEVER toys, ammo was locked separately from the weapons and if we wanted to shoot--i never did--we were brought to the range
Nonnie, that +s is the 9, right?
i got it
rifles are fun - i have been to the range in ages though
Your boyfriend taught you well, helen!!!!!
*haven't*
i have the 9 letterw ord
OK, V's are done, 8's are done, 9 is done---off to cheer on my Buffalo Sabres!!
yes, jbp
go penguins
fosket - Click on the 'Help' icon just above here. That will show you how the scoring works.
pam - yes he did! & i believe that's how everyone should be taught - not often you will find me endorsing military things, but they sure got this one right!
they seemed fun, helen--I wanted to learn the bow and arrow, even though I can't see so well, LOL!
i've a preference for pistols myself. i dismantle and clean after each use. however, remote as we are, i keep a loaded clip with it in my night stand.
I SOOOO agree, helen.
i don't get the 'nothing' part
"not any" jbp
WE were too many kids in and out, nut, for my dead to keep a loaded clip.... and, there were cops living in the building--they made sure my dad was being safe, LOL
pam - omg - i had another boyfriend, this one briefly in high school who was into bow & arrow big time, he took me to the range & i will tell you - my arm NEVER hurt so much in my life, when that string hits you - yowzah!
jbp - 'not any', 'not one'.
pass the herring! thanks Jac
en6/18 please
ahhhh, no kids here, no worries on that score. unless the dog is gonna get into the drawer, but i doubt his abilites.
jbp, take nni out of nonnie's name
didn't help
*kiss for tor*
y/w, jbp. I think Torg helped there, too.
Because my vision sucks, I had friends who were going to take me to their range before others arrived, but then, we never got the chance, helen
hey lurke, er, i mean torgone!
en+ part that holds plant in the soil
can't believe it won't take "nooner"
Helllo all - back for the final try - 41 left

hi takuma
same
ommigosh! takuma, your icon is missing an eye!
thx ibd, ambi and jacula
evenin' knight'
Torg just swooned? Loosen his clothing immediately! (I expect that's what he was planning.)*grins*
good point, nut! We were really curious, plus the neighbors were in and out, but my dad took my sibs shooting if they wanted to go. We never thought of the guns as toys. And, my mom, who was violent, never iused the guns to hit or threaten us. She used regular items and it never occurred to us to go for the guns to stop her. FLies in the face of what you hear about kids and guns... but, we were raised right when it came to the guns...
yw andree
hi tak
hrm. trying to remedy that
LOL jacs!
hello knight
hmm. I think he's half-dead - it's an 'X'
brb
ewwwww, i'm not touching his clothing!
any clues for a 7 letter word
Hell - I've got a 'naked' pic like that somewhere, but I ain't showing it.

Furry critter/s
That reminds me... I may face local humiliation when our local paper comes out today. I have discovered that my darling mother has put in a 50th birthday announcement for me with photo. (Now, knowing how she loves to embarrass me, and knowing how she could with the photo stocks she has... I'm worried!) Thank Gawd I'm leaving the country in the early hours of Friday morning.
thanks nonnie, that was my last O... hi again all, will be in and out for a while.
where are you headed, jac?
lol Jac. it's called payback
hi stid
yw stid...see you later.
Jacula -- an entire HALF C-E-N-T-U-R-Y??? man, thats O--L--D! ;-)
pam - Amsterdam. Will be back on Monday evening.
oh, hbow nice!!!!
Jac is this trip for pleasure?
ah, jac you have the big five-oh coming up?
Just a kid, Jac. Enjoy--people expect so much less of you as you get older!
lbd - payback. Why? What did I ever do to her? I didn't know that saying one neighbour smelled nasty and another sounded like a pig in a trough when she ate was wrong. She'd told me always to tell the truth... so I did! And that lady on the bus WAS wearing a funny hat!
na 5/12....help please
since teepee is allowed, I'd have thought teevee would be! 38 to go and progress is very slow. should I hit the list now?
roflol jac
lol jac
hi, stid, missed you being here....
stid - Aren't you 3 WHOLE YEARS older than me?
nope Jacula, a bit younger actually...
could anyone please clue any re 5 or 6, as usual i am blind to re words
rhymes with underwear.
stid - damn & tarnation!
oh that was for gardner...na5.12
ha! dawg said underwear!
lbd - pleasure (the trip) - it's a birthday treat from my Other Half.
Leaving all you good people so I can go eat dinner. Take care all.
andree, not fronts, and then more of the behind
underpants? rofl... I remember when that was the funniest word in the whole world to my kids. I'd say, "underwear?" and they'd point and say, "under there!" *nostalgic sigh* ah, three-year olds!
night nonnie
'Bye Nonnie. Enjoy your meal.
later nonnie!
I used that joke last week . . .
{{{tor}}} hi there!
so6/18 the last one?
i'm waiting for gardner to come back and ask for a better clue!
Heya [[[stid]]]!
andree are you still needing the re 5's?
knight one who does the so4.4 above it
stid - I remember our Headmaster (a lay preacher) getting quite frustrated when we, as a school, couldn't get through the hymn 'Jesu, Lover Of My Soul' without giggling. It was the 2nd line that got us 'cos it had a 'rude word' in it... 'Let me to thy bosom fly'. As soon as we got to 'bosom' that was it, we were lost and in chaos. It got worse after he told us not to giggle at it.
hey everyone im back
(That was at junior school, btw. 7-11 year's old.)
ty dawger, i have that one, so i need the one before it
*grin* I remember similar things when the kids in the parochial school I attended heard the sisters say "hell" when talking about damnation...
yep. same grade! :-)
same clue knight.
thx ibd, need last 2 re's
yeah we also had trouble during christmas with "what child is this?" - the line "where ox and ass are sleeping"
andree, those are sooo Yesteryear word(s)
ty lbd
Andree - last 2 re's are about yesterday's fashions brought back.
rofl... ah, kids! what fun!
yw knight
hursh - I can see how 'ass' would set them off.
so wait...i was away from the computer...did that hint for na 5/12 even come in
ooh! I understood that clue, Jacula! (you musta done something wrong) LOL
rofl. well it almost happened...gardner...na5.12 rhymes with dance
NA 5/12 like a short form of the 5/16 woman's name?
na5/12 - Short form of Pres. Regan's wife's name.
thx ibd and jac
its is the same as the na 5/16 except with a vowel ending
blah. gotta work on supper again. back woon as I can.
You did, Stid? *makes note to self to try harder to confuse stid.*
fireworks!
or so** as I can.
Well done, Angel.
congrats!
whooo hooo angel!
YAY angelsong! (back quick -- *poof*)
yay angel
na 5/16>?:D
Gardner...Na*** Drew
na5/16 - Ronald Regan's wife's first name.
back! guess what? i didn't get a single report card done since i've been gone! lol, my dad called me, we've been chatting. i'm soooooo bad
wandered off to watch Bones....
kindergartners get report cards?
feather - get thee back to thy report cards! Bad girl!
I have SOOOO many words, and soooooo little time, LOL
hi again buddies . . . back to finish up i hope
pam - Bones is good, isn't it?
yep, they do dawg, and on average they take about 15 minutes each to do. thankfully, i'm down to the end...saved the easier kids for last, so i should be able to whip them off in 5-10 minutes each per kid
hey book
Hi BDG.
I love it, Jac. I should read Reichs' books...
brb, need more tea
Hi, gwen
pam - I've just bought a book of hers to read. I liked the fact that in the episode I last watched, when Temperance's latest book was out, her heroine was called 'Kathy Reichs'.
interesting start to idol
Oh, cool, Jac. I am not sure I noticed that, LOL
Gwen, have you read her?
pam - it was the episode where the killings were mirroring the murders in her book.
I jsut finished FAB non-fiction. Jonathan Kaplan's The Dressing Station and Contact Wounds...
Oh, I did see that, Jac, just spaced on the character....
missing 2nd re6/18 please
Not heard of those, pam. I will check them out. I've just started on M.C. Beaton's 'Agatha Raisin' series, the first book being 'Agatha Raisin & The Quiche of Death'. My daughter, intrigued by the title (as was I) bought the first 4 books in the series for my Mum for Xmas. She's gone mad on them now, is buying them like a looney and recommending them to everyone.
te6/21 before the 8/50
2nd re6/18 = to work for your wages again.
I will have to check those out, Jac. Dressing Station, which was first, was better written....but both were grand!
I need some fiction recommendations and some non-fiction....
thx jac
te6/21 before the 8/50
can't see that re 6/18...
te6/21 before the 8/50 = te + consonant + a 3 letter word that sounds like what a newly-made jelly eventually does.
te6/21 is a musical and poetry term meaning 3 rhyming lines, btw.
te6.21, te5.12 + cross letter
re+ round things on cars
pam - re6/18: 2nd r down, down and left, straight down, over to the right, up to the righ, over to the left.
re+rip or plural of the re5.10 of yesteryear
jac, that clue gave me a headache, LOL
Sorry, pam.
thanks, lbd
Did you get it, though?
it's ok, jac, my concentration isn't what it should be!
yes, i did, thanks
sorry jac, ole dummy knight didn;t get it
why isn't midday no4.4er a word? lol
Good. I thought word games calmed you? LOL.
hi pam, sorry i was buried in the grid. answer is no, cuz i'm not into reading fiction
LOL, Jac... I seem to need additional calming help!
thanks, gwen!
got it jac, thanks
whats the nine letter word
im desperate
it starts with ve
ve9.72 ones who do the ve6.27
I was going to ask what this midday + 2 word that you lot over The Pond keep asking about meant, but I've looked it up.. I see it means 'afternoon delight'. LOL.
9=plural of ve8
so why wont the grid accept it? lol fickle enable!
It's not a word we use over here.
lbd - Dunno. It's a US dictionary. LOL.
no4er is still "slang" even though its been around 30+ years. dictionary writers are also sometimes squeamish!
there is another te6/21 before 8/40?
te6/21,te5/12,te6/21 then te8/50, knight.
knight, number after nine + leisure vehicle
The first te6/21 = a number + a short form of leisure time or place.
leisure vehicle= ***reation vehicle
hey, back again & still 65 left :(
Incidentally, we pronounce 'leisure' as 'leshur' not lee sure'.
jacs - are you finished?
Hi again Hell. Yes, I finished hours ago.
Or, Hell, was that a loaded question related to me reaching my half century this coming Sunday? LOL.
Or are you just telling me to shut up?
*grins*
Jac, you share birthday's with my grandson!
How old's your grandson, lbd?

heard recently about a "new" idea, that coup0les whould sleep in separate rooms -- saves many marriages from the Snore Monster as it did ours.
HI all how is the grid?
It sucks
jili - that's what works for us! separate bedrooms, helps when he get up at 4 am & i go to sleep around 3am
that's how it is in my house Jilli. Hubz didn't believe he sn5.10ed, til i recorded him.

Well done, Gwen
they split them into 2 groups, sanj, lakisha and blake on one side, chris, phil and jordin on the other. then ryan told melinda she was safe, and asked her to pick the top group. she sat down in the middle of the stage!

hee, i'm slow on the news uptake most times!
dearest book, i'm going to have to protest against your taste, i can't see you have any...don't like idol, don't like shrek....you're in a sad way.
plot for new skrek movie: shrek goes on american idol. guaranteed to leave you screaming in agony
Bye everone, I'll see you tommarow
Feather how is the little baby bump today?
Idol's cr*p (except for the outtakes) but Shrek is great.
evan, see how i make no reply to your insane comment LOL
not so little any more!
back.
shrek is Rudolph dressed up with nice animation
Gwen - didn't they kinda do that at the end of Shrek 2 anyway?
yay stid!
lbd -- Ballet Jorgen Canada at our local intimate theatre
yah...that's no comment. but by all means, bash the good stuff...i bet you don't read banned books either.
a third shrek? baby shrek?
oh jill, that sounds lovely! I bet you'll have a great time!
(sorry --phone call interruption)
jacula -- you think i saw shrek 2 after being agonized by shrek (1) ?????
stid -there were about 100 calkins kids at my high school - lots of cousins
now, to winkle out these last 36...
Jilli, i bet it will be a wonderful experience.
where'd my sis go...where'd my idol up dates go?
they're just talking about shrek on idol
wow helen! I know there were a whole slew of them at one point in Kansas near Salina, and also in Iowa (but can't remember exactly where)... and there are a gazillion of them in New England and Ontario...
evan, what do banned books have to do with it? (anyway, I have written books which would be banned if they ever circulated well enough to get noticed)
awwwwwww, i wish i could have the tv!
i'm here waiting on the idol commentary - never watched it prob never will
martina's performing now. going back to a report card....be back soon
why, because i classify idol and shrek as great american classics of course.
(hanging head, shaking it back and forth, signing heavily . . .)
1st no4/10 please
i'm with you book and ren, no idol watching here.
feather - I hope your diaphragm recovers more quickly than mine did after my 1st pregnancy. Son, awkward in the womb (biffing his skull on my diaphragm), awkward at birth (wouldn't change from that position), showed his bum to the world as he arrived in it and still thinks no better of most of it yet (and he's 23 next month!), arrived 3 weeks' early (he still always wants everything NOW). I love him though.
not following your logic, evan LOL
how many TI words?
which one andree?

jac, you gotta tell feather to do that!
i'd win american pirate swords up!
my inner child watches *doctor who*. how much more of an inner child do you want? 8-)
that's the best way to do it, lady!
Suspend disbelief, forget about the Hollywood money makers and just watch and try to enjoy. 'Are we there yet? Are we there yet?'
you sure ren? aaaaaaaaaargh!
percy just loves to give me heartburn so far
Yep, they look soooooo happy, im sitting here with the dumb grin
jacula, watch american idol? sorry i value my brain cells alittle too much to do that!
congrats to your friends herin
but, but, martina mcbride is singing on idol! what's wrong with that?
feather, wait till percy tells you 'he needs to learn how to score babes', as my nephew said the other day.
notice i am not dumping on anyone for what they watch, merely expressing my deep disgust LOL
eek, heaven forbid!
i do have the cd of the chinese guy that was so bad - i really like it
percy? for real? as in perfect prefect?
one down, 6 report cards to go
LOl, nut, re Feather.
prefect percival ignatious to you stid.
i love his ymca
HE'S a school prefect...teachers pet...er kid.
why not just "ignaz?"
lol, percy as in percival ignatious, nut's choice. mine for now, as i'm too superstitious to call him by my favorite name before he's born.
Gwen - I didn't suggest you should watch Idol. AARGH. I was talking about Shrek.
what not iggy? as in iggy pop?
*grin* you could call him "sanjaya" ... *ducks flying report cards*
oh, pardone, jacula. if you like i can explain why i dislike shrek but it might start a fight
*loads up super soaker with water*
sorry stid, i couldn't hear that over the faucet running.....*aims*....what did you say?
Percival Ignatious people, don't ruin this for me. I'm hoping she's so used to calling him that when he comes that she'll name him that after all.
i don't like shrek either - gag me
hmph. at least when I shot at Jacula I was nice enough to fill my gun with chocolate...
... with a spoon!
lol nut
Gwen - pm me through BabAnon about it then. I'd be interested to know about the Shrek stuff.
cartoons in general bore me
ren...I've buzzed you twice now.
totally!
but if her last name starts with G, then her precious perfect prefect would be a P-P-P-P.I.G.
mike myers does a great scottish accent but that's not enough for me to love shrek
be glad I don't have one, i usually fill mine with juicy boogers.
lol, nope, M here. good scottish last name.
jacula, babanon?
I've never grown out of cartoons - blame it on Tom & Jerry.
sorry nutster - i'm slowly making my way to the im
LOL ;-)
oh man, i've done one report card in an hour. that's pitiful.
sorry ibd, i am at work and the chat is going too fast, have the plural pm no
blake is safe!
Gwen - Babblers' Anonymous. 3rd link in 2nd column down at the bottom on the left of this page.

A dondey Scots accent TKS
*holds breath*
*crosses fingers, toes, arms and legs.*
biggest top 7 vote in idol history.....38 mill votes
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like shrek because the children like it... same with "cars" and such. "The Princess Bride" on the other hand... *swoon* now that's a pirate!

aww, i kinda feel bad, he's actually crying
lol stiddy, do you really need help?
not bad enough to want him to stay though
stid - Haven't watched the Princess Bride yet. *makes plan to steal DVD from daughter's room at next opportunity. Well, SHE steals my Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath cds.
gwen! thou shalt not disparage princess bride in mine or hurshy's presence!
well, i hope stern feels bad for giving him false hope.
I heard his voice on the radio the other day. He's actually not that bad. I think he'll have quite a local following. Let's face it, from the ci** that produced Nirvana and the rest of the grunge scene -- anyone who can carry a tune can match that!
LOST is on...tuning out....
Gwen - well you either read it and/or you join. If you join, you cam PM me.
as you wish feather.
*swoons*
It's a FUN movie, jacula, not intellectual at all, with some rather amazing references to errol flynn's day...
Never watched LOSt either.
btw stid...middle, you know, the female.
jacula, maybe some other time. it's too late for me to go through the registration on a new site (i have a system which means it takes me longer)

LOST is fab jac....i'm all about sawyer.
Most of the things I watch seem to be murder mysteries or good comedies.
goin' to bed now y'all, time to watch some quality tv . . . heh heh
knight - not surprising. The t's are hell.
I like those, too!
i could put up my sawyer icon again for you nut

LOL.

The only one I like is the CSI in Vegas...but, love the who lead-ins
yuo - i'm the old one
*drooling excessively*
Jilli thought you were at the opera?
LOL "old" being relative here, of course!
yeah, that explains why you haven't buzzed me...you senile brain forgot.
no, diem, after supper going to the ballet here on SSI, a 15 minute drive from here
nope - had to do something - like feed the cats before they ate my stinky tennis shoes
Enjoy
We have a wonderful intimate ArtSpring theatre/gallery here, where top pros perform
i'm an old cowhand - from the rio grande
Cici - I watched The Who's latest concert for the BBC recently (and I was a great WHO fan). I found is excruciating, especially when they did My Generation (load of old bleeders!) For a better version now, check oout The Zimmers. The man giving the finger at the end is the UK's oldest working man (over 100). It's a protest about the way old people are treated here in UK and all proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to the charity Age Concern.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =zqfFrCUrEbY
hey, if your shoes stinks, then let them felines fix it for you!
they smell like they got soaked - well they did - i stepped in a major pot hole during a bad rain storm
Jac - thanks for the info. I just got their latet CD,
not as good as I would have hoped.

my mom use to say things like that when we were kids.
she told you to look forward to death?
*sigh* finally got the ER 7 -- thanks Jacula!
no, she would say things like she was looking forward to being dead or that when she was dead...
Ren - saw recipe in Sunday mag. Tried it out. It's okay but not a winner. Doubt I'll make it again or even bothr adapting the recipe to our likes.
she was a very unhappy woman
ok - i'll stick to my lemon yogurt mistress
It's a bit like a flat egg custard with lemon rind in it.
well, i plan that all the time...i'm to be all burned up. i'll haunt anyone who tries to send flowers, except my aunt cause she gives me flowers all the time.
