I used plastic pots that have drain holes in the bottoms for the tomatos. They also come with trays to catch or hold extra water. I used oblong pots for the other herbs.

yeah, usually am late on Sunday and today was even later. Kids have aikido lesson from 10.15 to 11.15 am, but they got invited to stay for a special grown-up's lesson afterwards, with invited top teachers. It was great.

Grandma was from Piedemonte D'Alife and grandpa was from Gualtieri Sicamina.
my son who lives in israel got engaged. i had to fly to israel fast to meet the girl and her family. they arranged for me to stay at a friends house across the street from them. when i walked in, her husband looked at me and said "you were on my plane! i saw you knitting! you sat across from me! " i was shocked. then the wife who is michnick, said she was from philly and she grew up with my sister in law and knew the family. it was amazing. we instantly loved each other. we talked all night and it was absolutely wonderful! so every time we go to neve yakov, i ask to stay at her house! michnick has a wonderful husband and wonderful kids! and she is amazing. and so it is funny that she is on the grid too!

One of my birds wakes me up every morning at 5AM.
jilli, i agree w/that. when i get 8-9h every night, i lose weight.
LOL oh i spent many years of sleep lacking ! now i'm making up for it and i'm fat :-(

yeah, isn't she sweet ! growl. we use our birds as alarm clocks. If we have to get up at 5 little Gypsy wakes us.. if we want to get by 8 then we wait for little Zephyr to yell "breakfast" and if we don't have to get up, we sleep in with little Tango who will gladly sleep till noon
i wish i had animals! i cant wait to move out so i can have a dog!
If i ignore Gypsy she comes over and picks up one of my fingers and drops it. If I continue to ignore her she jumps up and down on my back. If i still continue to . she goes for the toes !

yes, jilli, the mcacaw-types i've lived with, the cage was their castle, their safe space.
I had tango and zephyr potty trained, then when gypsy came along, i didnt have the time to be consistant wth them. they still know where they are allowd to poop, but have accidents

i had a roomie with a grey. between all of us we had a 2 cats, the grey, a taygu lizar, 2 constrictors, nad we bred rats to feed the snakes and the lizard.
how do you potty train a bird?
If I had known what I do now, I'd have gone right for a grey. The grey i can talk to and reason with LOL

jill start out by every 5 minutes offering a tissue under the bird, and prompt with a word. I use the word TRY. I didnt want to say POOP
when they do, then praise
then move the timing to every 10 min
etc
one friend taught her grey to not go on Wait, then she'd set him on tile, and say okay, and he'd go. easy clean-up.
you can get them to poop on command but I didnt want to do that incase i'm not home
so every time they see a tissue they poop, lol?

no other fruit we gave him caused runs, nor stains like the pomegranate.
luckily they have fast digestive track so i give them even pellet food that has color and wait for them to poop it
the first time I gave Tango pomegrante i had forgotten and it scared the sh*t out of me.

jasper likes cooked peas, corn, carrots, and celery. and he loves a nice oniony, garlicky, spicy tomato sauce with lots of olive oil
when i'm too lazy to cook and clean veggies, I get steamed veggies from the chinese resturant for them with tofu

onions arent good for parrots, cooking and chopping them lets out a toxic gas

tall fescue and kentucky blue are the 2 grasses that grow here; i am in a southern state.
