Yup, except when Walter bumped a stinging nettle-- but he was brave and got over it. Saskia got to play with a one-year-old boxer and her best friend Django the husky mix. Walter basically just ran, except for tree stump climbing breaks.

Back sucks. I just made my last physio appointment. I got my doctor and physio on the case to try to tie this into the tendinitis that has gone ignored for years... we'll see. The doctor gave me a blood test to look for tendinitis of THAT type. They're going to discuss things. Further OK though, except a tad stressed about school.
If they can make that tie-in and call it chronic the insurance has to pay.
really hope that works out, you need the treatments. As for school: one thing at a time, MonkeyG. And call me if you need to vent and yell and tell someone it is never ever going to work without any consequences, lol. I know you will make it.

I have a good child seat. Still not very secure feeling on a bike though-- didn't grow up on one like folks here But yeah, I can find a way to manage. But a bakfiets has become my mainstay.

They kept her in hospital and she flatly refused to be induced. Everything was OK in the end. A 14lb baby, though. My daughter was only 7lb 4oz, same as me at birth.
but that is the crap thing about being seen only by a midwife here... people 'choose' to do that (which is what they did) and if they had gone via private doc, that would NOT have happened, I promise you. They only did one ultrasound at 20 weeks.... and got it terribly wrong

my daughter was delivered by a midwife... she was excellent! my son was delivered by a ob/gyn... also excellent. it comes down to fate at times
I go so far back, that scans etc were not available when pregnant. xrays were used in the later months if needed eg. if the suspected twins.

wow elder! I only go back as far as 11 years ago... it was a 6 week scan, 12 week scan, 18 week scan... 32 weeks and then 36 weeks to make sure all was sound. Now, it is 2 scans... one at 20 weeks and only if absolutely necessary at 32 weeks.

Scrabs, it's a site that help "communities" schedule care - i.e., meals, etc. I've used it (unfortunately) several times over the past couple of years... if you are interested I can give you some tips - it really does help the family move on and gives friends in the community something concrete "to do".... in a coordinated way that isn't overwhelming to the family

Starting over.. I truly don't know which is worst.. I lost my brother in a car wreck on July 20 07 and 5 weeks later my mom had emergency surgery.. surgeon botched it... we spent 7 mos in hosp... home for a week or so.. back in hosp... we just lost her 2 mos ago...lose 'em fast or for extended time..there is really no prep for it

We had a friend die of brain cancer back in '01 - his funeral was on his 35th bday... saddest thing ever (among, I guess)..... two young kids, etc. But his wife has now remarried to a great guy - he adopted the two kids, they've now had a third, and he (our friend) is still thought of fondly and consistantly...... it's such a sad life experience for those who are left - I could go on an on, but you are richer for knowing and loving her!

one big difference between europe and here is that you can drive for a couple hours and be in another country.... I can drive for 6 12 hours and still be in texas.... there are plenty of europeans who have never left europe, which is similar distance wise

well it's a killer - get this - you marble in melted bittersweet choco. right into the cake, you don't make choclo baatter!!!!

ngredients 250g/9oz unsalted butter, softened 250g/9oz caster sugar 2 tsp finely grated lemon zest 1 tsp natural vanilla extract 4 free-range eggs 250g/9oz self-raising flour, sifted lemon butter icing Method 1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. 2. Grease and line the base of a deep 20cm/8in square baking tin with baking paper. 3. Beat the butter and sugar with an electric whisk until pale and creamy. Beat in the lemon zest and vanilla extract. 4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until just combined after each addition. 5. Fold in the sifted flour in two batches until well combined. 6. Spoon into the tin and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a skewer poked into the middle of the cake comes out clean (you can cover the cake loosely with foil if it is browning too quickly). 7. Cool for ten minutes before removing from the tin and turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Ice with lemon butter icing.
