Yeah, the elk are actually moving from the mts right now for the winter; and when I visited last feb, I saw bighorn sheep... they were AWESOME, climbing up the mountains...

But I'm also considerably older than you. It sounds like the two of you are going to have a wonderful time getting to know the flora and fauna there.

I posted all of our property this year, because for one thing, despite that fact that we have annual wars about whose garden it is, I am very found of "our" deer, but also because of the risk from those few who are really careless. It made me nervous to hear shots so close to the house. I haev very mixed feelings about it. I hate seeing anything killed, but also know that many of my neighbors have hunted very respectfully since childhood and depend on the meat to make it economically, and also that without the hunting, giventhe absence of natural predators (although some are coming back) the herd will overpopulate and starve to death.

okay, I had an MRI on my bad hip on Monday -- with gadolinium injection in the joint. The MRI was a piece of cake, but the joint has limited extension (flexion is almost back to normal in all directions), and there is continuing pain in the joint.

How long before the fluid used from the injection absorbs and I am comfortable again?

my hair is a bit below shoulder but when it is wet and dripping ouch. it is cold. i try to dry it with towel. i brought a blow dryer but it wont work on the electric here. will try a different one next time. i wanted to leave it here for when i come.

they are young i am old. at 60 hard to adapt to cold and heat. when i was young i came here and wasnt so bothered either. but was always more sensitive than my husband.

hey Eva..When I cut our kitty's claws ...I would entice them with butter or oleo. Vet said it was good for hairballs. They still did not enjoy the clipping, but it went much faster for both of us and they loved the butter.

Put on my finger to get them to come to me....THEN I 'd put it on their noses. This would keep them occupied while I clipped.

Well, re the slapstick humour - Mr. Pastry was one of the programmes I used to watch on B&W TV as a child - his silly decorating experiences etc. Thing was, my Dad was very like him when doing wallpapering etc.

I think the best lesson in life my Dad ever taught me was that 'No Man Is Perfect!' I just wish my Mum had been so honest about women. I may not have spent so long trying to be 'perfect' then. However, imperfect me and imperfect Love of My Life (love at first kiss, which I never believed in before it happened to me in my 40s) are rubbing along nicely now.

JAc, I think that is an incredible lesson to have learned! My DH grew up being told that perfect was the only option - failure was not accepted in ANY way. And now my DH is living on his own, isolated from everyone, because he literally cracked under the strain. I did not require him to be perfect - far from it - but he cannot live up to the ideal in his head. Sigh

that is what I am trying to do, and always have, but it is really hard. My poor son - he brought his Latin grade up a WHOLE letter grade in one quarter, and my DH took one look at it and said "this should be an A! Why isn't this an A?" I could quite literally see my son shrink before my eyes. But there was NO way to address it my DH - he was above all reproach, at all time.
