dee, one of the biggest criticisms i have of our government handouts is to the single mothers.... they get heaps of money, free accomodation and free health, travel etc. I know too many 'ladies' who have 4-6 kids all from different fathers so they have an income. Malamutes are great dogs they need lots of attention and discipline.

I got a subpoena a week ago but was able to avoid a court appearance by providing records. Phew.
Court is difficult, I have only been once as a witness to say, yes I saw this man shoot this other man in the parking lot.
In this case, since I have just heard about it in the news...I am not concerned in that way.
The closest I've gotten to court is jury duty selection and not chosen or my latest was my traffic ticket <oh my>. That was pure-d humiliation...this little old lady will control her lead foot from now on. Cruise control is my best friend.

In my case Nonnie, I was lucky, the lady before me was hysterical, so I think the judge was just pleased that I was calm and such, so in comparison it is alright.
Sheesh, the judge gave a $175 fine, 3 months probation--I'm on probation! and I have to pay $25 each time I see my probation officer. Plus I have to attend defensive driving school if I don't want the blasted thing to appear on my pristine record.

lol red, when i was having my oldest daughter i was in hospital fr 16 days bed rest because of pre-eclampsia, she was 6 weeks early anyway and when i went into labour again they said c-section, but before that they let me go through the early stages, and i had a nurse who spoke to herself, told herself jokes and laughed at them, it was as scary as hell
she was wierd in the extreme

i had her for 4 hours, just me and her in a room and she shouted at me when i asked for ice
the talking didn't bother me, but the jokes and insane laughter did

hi, all. I have a dilemma. I had to put my desktop in the shop a couple of weeks ago. the people who worked on it said it had trojans and viruses on it, and it needed a new motherboard. they replaced the motherboard and removed my original video card, which they kept. They charged me a fee for the repair...but the machine was still rebooting constantly, so I had to take it to a different technician, who said it had two conflicting audio drivers on it and other problems that were causing the continuous rebooting. it is now fixed...but I don't feel right about paying the entire fee to the first folks who said they fixed it when they did not. what do you think?

because we have a plant here that makes catalytic converters for cars, we have seen a fallout in that area

it's bad here, the high fuel prices meant a lot of firms and retailers etc were struggling before the poop hit the fan anyway, but now it's hard, small businesses are really struggling and the larger ones are being forced to cut prices so much they can't possibly make any profit
and today's news about the failure in the states has hit shares even harder, with drops in the tens of percent
And the housing market and building trades have been badly hit as well.
I don't think people are "spending" as much on xmas here..BUT...people are spending at the little shops...instead of the big super walmart etc...as for housing...it hasn't been bothered here either...

I was just reading up on fruit bats. I knew our Botanic gardens 'relocated' 28,000 bats (in Melbourne) not to where they wanted but to surounding areas. I didn't realise Sydney Botanic Gardens spent $3m dollars on their same problem!
