hello just!
hi freep ;)
*giggle* enya's trapped in the grid...
he 7
Ugh . . . I'm up again for a bit.
Had to look at the new puzzle!
Stidmama - found you on 360 I think, so I sent you an invitation to connect there! ;)
hello JC. how's the dog today?
She's fine, thank you - being smarter than me (as usual). She's snoring, HAHAHA!
thanks JC -- it's me, but you should know I am rarely on those sites. Being in school has become all-consuming.
ooooh. nice he7. or horrible, I guess. but good word!
*sigh* the sacrifices we make for our dreams...
Hi again JC -- thinking about 360...not really a joiner
thanks for the he just!
ty Freep
That's OK stidmama - same here.
LOL MUCH smarter! I should get to sleep soon too, but have to wait for one medication to wear off before I can start a different one.
But if you connect with me there, you'll be able to view my blogs - I have one about each of my dogs, my last and present ones. :)
NBT
DR!!!! how's you?'
And another amusing blog - with a naked pic of me in it! HAHAHA!
that would be fun, JC. I do love "critters" -- even the galoots *looking at galoot who STILL wants to play*
*Watches stidmama rush to accept the invite!*
I am ok.. arguing kind of day- How are you> is the hip any better
Yes - he looks the sort who never stops wanting to play!
*gasp* oh JC *blush* not on your life!
the hip is... pretty painful actually. I spent the whole day practically in bed, and was grateful when I went out for the new cane.
pi6
HAHAHA - it's OK stidmama, it's very tasteful and no 'bits' are showing. It was for a PETA campaign poster . . .
Oh no - sorry to hear you're having such trouble, stidmama! :(
BUT if the doc is right about what it is, then it will resolve if I can be "good" for a few more weeks.
I am sorry it is so painful. I hope they figure it out soon
well... maybe then. I'll look in the morning, JC
po6 x 2
Oh - so you don't even know why it's hurting?
It's quite safe, stidmama - even a child could see it!
well we know it's not degenerative bone stuff, and it's not cancer. It's not dying or getting "worse" -- and all of that is good.
Distracted by ER....
Besides, they airbrushed me so heavily in the photo, it looks like a painting of me! :P
yes, that is good... : )
Yes - that's all a big relief!
It's likely "just" inflamed soft tissue since there were no tears visible in the MRI. But it still hurts and it's frustrating to be laid up like this.
airbrushing??? for real? I've never known anybody who got airbrushed before! LOL
*runs to look after all*
sh6
Oh, it's awful - no idea why they airbrushed me?!
Makes me look stupid - it's quite funny!
stid, it's not arthritis?
where can we see this JC?
no sandy -- at least not so far as they can tell. I thought it was, from how much it hurts... but no bone changes.
what kind of dogs, JC?
Nicky has arthritis her shoulder
mo 6/8 combo
and it's not from the hip dysplasia I was born with -- apparently the socket is close enough to normal that it's unlikely to be the cause of this amount of "discomfort"
poor nicky! that would be really inconvenient
you poor thing stid-it looks like nick will have to have a shoulder fusion but i don't know if it will stop her pain
im6 x 3
so odd Stid. I hope the cane helps and good for you for not being too vain to use it.
Mongrels, jilibus - that's the only sort I'll ever have, because I will only get dogs by adopting rescues from shelters. I love dogs, so I can't stand the thought of perfectly lovely dogs being destroyed, all for a lack of homes - that's why I can't buy a purebred puppy and support the practice of breeding, while the need is so great. My last dog was the best I could've asked for - so intelligent and sweet, a real doll. My present one is the same - and to think they would've been put to sleep, if not for being adopted? :(
ROFL... *giggle chortle sputter* that is the FUNNIEST poster ever!
are you really and truly vegan, JC?
HAHAHA - isn't it though? :P
JC where can we see this poster? and the dogs?
Yes, stidmama - why do you find that strange? Many people are - more all the time.
I have lots of vegan friends . . .
JC, there are purebred rescues in need too
oh it's a pretty cane, DR. I got one with pink floribundas all over it. Figured if I needed it it might as well be feminine. Surrounded by males as I am, I am no longer afraid of pink.
It's in my Yahoo 360 blog, sandyloo - which isn't on view to the public - only to connected friends and friends connected to them.
Yes, jilibus - so there are, and they need adopting too. The thing is though, they are infinitely more adoptable - that's why I adopt mongrels, who are less likely to find homes otherwise.
oh ok I guess i miss out-
po6 x 2
well, I am not vegan, but I have food allergies that make it so when I travel I can't eat at normal restaurants. And we tend to not each much from animals because of the allergies too.
Keeping with th theme tonight I have a cane with dogs on it and one with pastel balloons for when my spinal cord goes wacky
I mostly use it in crowded places
I have a friend with terrible food allergies, stidmama - I'm wondering if she's allergic to more than you are, because it seems she's allergic to almost everything! :( It's terrible - she is even allergic to soy products - and a lot of fruits and vegetables, even grains.
JC, have you met dan2bit's puppy live streaming site?
the only reason my galoot is a purebred is because he was on the way to the pound when I stopped them.
No, Jill - what is that?
I haven't met dan2bit, either . . .
good for you, DR! I like the balloons idea.
Yes, stidmama - you rescued him, and tha'ts very commendable! :)
dan is a babbler who is fostering a mama dog and her pups until they are weaned
I had a purebred dog as a child - one my parents bought for us. He was a Dachshund . . .
I'll grab the URL to his feed, though right now they're probably asleep.
Awww, I see!
Thanks Stid- too a little while to not haveit sitting in a corner. :)
Dachshunds are dangerous!!
mo8
daughter Diana(photo) is a carer for dogs and has rehomed quite a few
http://tinyurl.com/adr57m for the puppies
my great-grandfather doted on his dachshunds.
35 left for moi
apparently they were not pleasant to anyone but him
Dachshunds are in the top ten most dangerous dogs as are chihuahuas
go PAV go!
LOL Stid-
My first dog had a litter - but she was pregnant when the Battersea shelter picked her up, and they didn't know this when I adopted her. Great - so I adopt her and of course, have a voucher to get a reduced price spay operation done on her. I rang and made the appointment the next day, after taking her home. By the time I went in for the appointment, I suspected - and sure enough, the vet confirmed it. Fortunately, I managed to find friends to take the puppies - there were only four.
mo8 x 2
I love them though they have lots of character
As soon as she was comfortably recovered from that, I had her spayed . . .
my dachshund just rolls over and begs for belly rubs
mo9
That was the last thing I needed, being a single 21 year old kid living on my own in a little flat in Marble Arch, HAHAHA!
Sandy- I said they are dangerous because I tripped over one and shattered my patella
stuck with 3 left, geh
Yes - Dachshunds are cute.
LOL but it is true about the top ten, can you believe it!
true DR- Tootsie is constantly underneath my feet and I know one of us is going to get injured
stid beat me to it -- right now it's inactive, but if you scroll down you can reqad what it's all about. They are fostering a rescued bitch who was about to be euthanised, while she has her pups.
go mitch go! (where's dart? or did he finish already?)
hi Chris
I have my grid word
I like weener doggies
Hi MAg and westie
My little girl I have now looks like a very small, fine-boned black Labrador, sort of. Battersea told me her mother was a Whippet cross, father unknown. I suspect she's part poodle, because of her head and face shape and her paws - and she's very bright, as they tend to be.
and Flosey
sandy, your children are a credit to you!
hi west, appropriate, Max, my cat just came in for petting and complements, she just left one outside my office door
hi DR
not food ruru!
they are cute .. our neighbor has a really nice one
hey DR!
She is nearly solid black - all except for a tiny white streak down her chest.
no6 x 2
sometimes they are and sometimes they are not -just like all of our kids
She's smooth-coated, floppy ears, long Whippet tail.
egads, I'm typing in French words again...perhaps it is time to sleep
I am off to sleep- leaving th egrid for tomorrow but enjoyd the chog
aren't you lucky flosey such a nice gift
sweet dreams DR. be well!
sounds beautiful, JC
You take care Stid- Iwill see you all again soon!
what's her name?
43 left
am coming to a grinding halt
You can see her in my blog, stidmama - on my main 360 page, you will see the headings to my blog in the top middle module.
he7 and right column greyed
JC -- wanted to be sure you had seen my regular (well, semi-regular) blog/website. stidmama.com. I post there most often
oh, okay JC. will look again.
The first 'Previous Postings' link - 'My Pets - Meet Dog Valerie and Cat Gloria'.
he7, im7x3, io7, mo7, se7 two more out there
I refuse to believe there is an "e" word emanating from that top "e"
Oh, OK stidmama - will have a look at that.
mag I cant get that one either
Yes, MAGMOM - how can there be???
magazine mom, it is a babblet, e4/6
ey4
ey 4
she is sweet! and the kitty, too. I like the pink picture a lot for style, but the ones where you are wearing the tan jacket show the shape her head better.
What's a babblet, joey?
Awww, thank you stidmama - yes, she's a darling little girl, very sweet natured. Loves to kiss . . .
babblet is a word that is in babblet, but you never, ever see in common usage. at least that is my understanding
dang...it was a babblet...at least I found it thanks to y'all!
Oh, OK joey - thanks for the explanation!
in babble, not babblet
hey joey!! ((hugs)) haven't seen you in ages.
bottom row greyed
missing a sh7 - i must be missing the other as well
hey, stid. how are you?
I CAN'T SEE the Cs. *sigh* are they fishy or just foul?
I use Naoi all the time in common conversation.... NOT!
I can't see much of anything - of course I'm exhausted and blearly-eyed, that might do it?! :P
cy4 and 6 stid
thanks Legend *thinking*
got the cy 4
did you sleep JC? it's rather late (or early) for you isn't it?
Yes, stidmama - a couple of times, naps . . .
you know, when you are getting over illness you need to sleep MORE, even when you are starting to feel better... *fuss fuss*
ty for those cs
I will return to bed again shortly . . .
Mike's up now and in the shower - he has to get ready to commute into London, for work . . .
Yes, yes, 'mama'! ;)
can't find a cy 6..
can't make the cy 6, but will try again tomorrow. Speaking of which, it is time for that next dose...
icon clue posted

Blimey - so far, I can't make 'cy' anything!
Jill - I sent you a 360 invitation. Did you get it?
stid, I hope all this works and you'll be pain-free
i know i havent got that one jilli
Yes - same here. Hope whatever's troubling you is remedied soon, stid!
yes, JC -- mentioned it a while ago -- I'm thinking about it -- not much of a joiner
got it, thanks Jilli
thanks jill. me too. I am totally ready to be able to get down to ground level and sink my hands in the dirt again. It's been nearly a year...
stid i feel for you, I would hate to be on pain killers
Oh I see, Jill - sorry! Must've missed that . . .
It would allow you to see my blogs.

I gave a clue for the icon a while ago too -- "gnot gnasty -- it rocks"
Hi Andree

We want heat - spring, summer!
i will trade with you. I am done with this cold. waiting for the sun.
It's getting a bit better now, mind you . . .
JC - it matters not which way we end up, only that we have a great time and love the ones we're with...
Lol JC, I am hopeless aren't I? the answer is no! but my email address is on my profile
Thank you, Andree . . .
jilli - I've watched ER right from the onset. I'm sure I've seen every episode at least once... but much more than that
I saw that, Sandy . . .
autumn here now and sydney is putting on perfect weather
down to 23 but completely stuck
well I am "off" but that's becoming more permanent the more I Babble...!
We have had too many days of tedious heat -it is most unpleasant to say the least!
I could send you a Yahoo 360 invitation to connect with me on there - then you would have access to view my blogs. You would have to create a Yahoo account in order to do that, though.
come to sydney sandy
and I'm at 28 with no brain power left
Yes, PAV3 - I've been 'off' for a long, long time! :P
well I could try it probably would be a useful thing to do
hey andree, is it raining there?
bye pav and sorry for the sex change
I know how hot it can get there - I lived and worked in Australia for a few years.
down to 5 and 2 are 6's and 2 are 7's
perth raining?
I didn't like the heat - I'm too used to our climate.
been at 3 for about 20 mins now, doi
go hugs, 87 to go here!!!
OK where did you work JC and no rain here andree!no such luck
night Andree...sex change? mistaken ID perhaps...
sh6 x 2 if that helps, hugs
Different places, Sandy . . .
where are you from JC?
England, Hugabugs . . .
no rain here either
yes it does, just... thanks
I definitely dont like the heat -Perth has a pretty good climate except for about 3 bad months - Up north it is unbearable
we had a very mild day... kept flip flopping between rain and snow... but the roads are sheer ice now
pardon me may I have the stats for the 9 please?
hi west

snipy is a word -- describes what a Gt Dane's muzzle should not be
I am in the aircon but its struggling
sandy how does your garden grow in all that heat?
the other is a plural on a mo 6

en 4
AH I found it
rat vocalizing a cantata
s plural jilli
don't think I have right mo6?!?
si7

sorry, pav -- it's geology and my clue was a play on the pronunciation. Will Try to think up a boring one, lol
I love that word jilli
it's pleasant
well, I'm heading out... any clues needed before I go?
that's what I said -- it's gnot gnasty
west, we dont have a garden here just lots of trees and grass and we have a bore to help -we have not built our house on the farm yet -we live in a converted shed and dongas for bedrooms LOL
ty hugs I have too many left
well then... g'night all
We do have a very nice double storey house in Nedlands near the river but we choose to live at the farm while my son lives in the house
gn + h* m***ed the target
you said you had vegetables and herbs growing that's a garden here
what you call a garden we call a yard
We are on a smallholding (farm) here in Kent - we grow veggies and herbs too - lovely to have them garden fresh! :)
yes we do and that is watered very well by the bore and the vege gardens grow like mad
the gn 6 is an anagram of the first book in the bible
Yes, westford - we say garden or lawn.
I've updated my photo for the grid today...
I lived in Kent briefly when I was 8 -- Sevenoaks
maybe you should stimulate him with good books?
I love the fresh veges and fresh eggs -nothing like it!!
clever, pav!
Ooh, clever yes - and thank you, PAV3!
That just helped me get those two words! :)
i just refreshed Pav, that is cute!!
yay NBT! thanks Jilli and BW! now 25 and bed time
you might end up with at least 5 from that clue JC

Ok let me reprash this MO 8 and the other is???
both 8's are mo words

both endings of a household rodant
so is the 9
Thank you
BOTH endings?
Oh sorry - yes, I do have that one!
yes
I'm not sure I follow
Yes, Matty - it's the plural of an action.
Something a cat would do - with certain rodents.
By going after them - it's called m******. Pluralise it.
they are both to do with mice but the ending are spelt differently
Cats and small terriers do that . . .
I'm with you - thanks!
My cats are inside cats and the only ''presents'' I get are dead toys at the end of the bed
You're welcome - if it's my clue that helped?
HAHAHA, hereinfernallady - that's not a bad thing! ;)

MO 8 I ahve one why cant I see another
I wish I knew how to read these tile stats and word stats - not sure what the digits with the slash in between mean?
which 8 do u need
I have an MO 8
thers 2
I know
I just cant see it. Second time lok I thinks
which one do you have the 50 or 60
JC the tiles are like Scrabble. There is a Help thing next to your account
JC if it is a he 4/5 it means the word starts with he , has 4 letters and earns you 5 points
60 but its ok ill double look
Oh just wonderful - my e-mail server is down! :(
okay c u all later
In that case Sandy, there would be a P word with 21 letters, earning me 25 points?
But there can't be, surely?!
Thanks Cool that helped
no that would be wrong
Morning, JC, you are reading the tiles underneath, means you have 21 of the P words, and there are 25.
I'm talking about in the 'Tile Stats' under the puzzle - not in the word list.
The new word list isn't up yet, anyway.
Morning, red! :)
read help, or look at the top of the word list-- the first word in this grid is a cy 4/8. the word starts with cy, has four letters and 8 points. Help explains how the points are calculated
Did that help?
Oh I see red - thank you! :)
Yes . . .
Hi BR.
The Tile Stats show you how many words start wiuth that letter eg the P starts out 0/25 when you have found 5 P words it willl show 5/25
there is a pi 6/24 starts with pi has 6 letters and is worth 24 points
hello, redT
No JC. If there was a Pi 3 - 5 it would be PIM and so on The PI is the first two letters and the 3 (in this case the grid is 4 plus letters) and the 5 is the tile stat total
Hi Red and Lynxx. Thanks COol i got the MO
Is there any way to see what other P words I need, without the list?
Nope.
Hmmm, hereinfernallady?
I don't understand that . . .
hello, lyn
The tile states under neath if you don't ahve them your boned
actually I dont think i understand either!!!! lol
Ooh, well being boned isn't such a bad thing! ;)
<-- Slaps self! :P
hi BabRab - and everyone
I don't believe he said that!
read help above
OK IF the word was PIM it would go on the chat as PI 3 (its length) and the 5 as its tile tittle. Babs right Look up at the Help thing and then at Angelsongs at the bottom
Ooh - I just found the two elusive P words I had left!
I have three elusive p words left
congrats, J.C.
And Licketys list when they are not flat out busy
Hmmm . . . I entered them and they 'took' but the Tile Stats below didn't change?!
Oh, don't mind me - yes they did, I'm just out of it.
I had four more to find, not two - still have two more.
The PIM is an example the grid only accepts 4 plus words
do you have a 0 by left under the word list
No - I mean two more P words.
I have 33 total words left to find, yet . . .
they will be a breeze
Seems impossible to find the last two P words. :(
I have on 4/4, op5/12, op6/21 and op5.16 - what O am I missing?
on4.5
Ooh, found one!
Oh, duh!
Easy onceyou know how!
there are 14 pi words; and 11 po words
gulp!
How about H words, besides the chickens?
he 7 5 4
an adjective used to describe a crime; and thus
h5 rhymes with what the gate is in
Infernal - did you feel that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow - we never have earth tremors - Jesus that's scary
whoot, an earth tremor
Lynxxx, stay safe!
Earthquake?
lynxx that is very unusual for melbourne
We don't usually either - but we had that big earthquake last year, centred around Folkestone, which shook us up pretty badly.
Apparently a volcano has erupted in Indonesia - must be related
so me in upper ferntree gully, herin in cheltenham, lynxxx, in where?
Struggling with the HE%
HE5 even
he5 rhymes with what a gate is on
Oh really lynxxx?
song: don't f**** me in
OK, that was me being stupid
I was looking for something that rhymed with Heaven
must have been very noticable? We had a big earthquake here about 1968 , destroyed a whole country town , we sure felt it in perth it did a lot of damage -but nothing since
Thanks!
In Java JC
Yes, Sandy - it certainly was that!
JC where is your favourite place in Aus, I love it here of course but I just LOVE Sydney and Noosa as well
My boyfriend and I were, erm - 'at it' when it happened, and it happened right at the perfect time! We looked at one another aghast, and I couldn't help but laugh when I said to him 'Wow - did the earth move or what?!' Seriously . . . but it wasn't very funny for a lot of people whose homes were damaged. :(
Yes, I enjoyed Sydney . . .
Hope you dont have a tidal wave , Lynxx
just joshing!
Nope
The earth did not move for us
Happily I am not in the NT...but what a terrible thought - another tsunami might happen - let's all pray now!
but then again I have been known to sleep through a thunder and lightening storm so bad it sounded like a bomb had gone off out the front of the house
hi all :) I love COoktown. And I used to love Port Douglas, back in the days that it wasn't horribly commercial. And Adelaide and the FLinders
gawd!!! That's all we need in Aus right now!! Fires , floods , and now tidal waves
At , have you ever been to wa
Hi, Atalante . . .
Hi Atta
I have he7, im7 x 2, io7, mo7, se7 - what am I missing?
Hi ata!
I've been to Perth. For 2 days LOL
Ataaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :)
Liiiiiiiiiz :):)
morning Ata & Liz
um so did you lot just have glasses rattle or something?
3 im 7s
Hey Lynxxx
Sandy I love your icon :)
Liz???
I should not be babbling. I should be writing my very interesting impact assessment exercise on sand dune usage
I e-mailed you - to let you know I'm here.
Should I ask why Oscar has a white tongue?
When we had the earthquake here , i was a medical technoligist working at the university, all my bottles of quokka brains rattled and threatened to fall -they floor was really swaying
Atalante - the 'Whitstable Fluffsters' are gorgeous! :)
still Ata!
*grins* they were just adorable
Especially the main one featuring in those photos - whose cats are they?
JC I was trying to find you on yahoo but its having problems
thanks liz, I love p***** and i want to get one here and give riding lessons to kids
Yes - that one is gorgeous - resembles a Norwegian Forest cat of a Maine Coon?
Thank you for that mental image of Quokka brains in a jar
Lynxx he hasn't - it was just a very very bright sunny day!!
...either that or he'd been at the paint tins again...
I think they are Maine Coons. I just love them, they live in a house right by the beach and always sit out there waiting for fuss
Oh - I sent you a message on Flickr I think, Atalante?
Lol Herin, we were doing brain research on the poor little things-noone had done any studies on them before
Awww - they're beautiful!
Wouldn't suprise me in the least Liz
Nor me Herin
Poor critters
Where were you trying to find me on Yahoo, Liz?
It would be like looking for a needle in a haystack, if you were just going through the Literati lounges - esepcially as I am not in any of them! :P
I go in when I'm ready to play - and meet with someone.
Liz has he had anymore cup cakes?
I-will-not-play-games-today. (Apart from Babble). I will not. Not. I have Work To Do.
Liz, You have a fascinating life!!!
Atalante?
I think I sent you a message on Flickr . . .
LOL JC I got an email from yahoo saying did I want to accept your friend invitation so I said yes but it just went pear shaped
17 left, and pretty well stuck
Oh really, Liz? What happened?
That would be for 360 . . .
I have a slightly insane life Sandy!!! I find it hard to keep up with myself at times
I will look, *after* I get some work done ;)
Sounds like great fun
HAHAHA - sounds like mine, most of the time! :P
Herin - no but he did have a loo roll yesterday! The house resembled an Andrex advert
YEAH YEAH Ata I said that too today. Hasn't worked
Liz - you need to enable e-mail on your Yahoo account, for starters.
Ata I have work to do too......I'm cowering away from it in the hope if I ignore it it might go away
Ive got 29 left, I will need lickety
That *might* help . . .
Not certain, though!
I have 32 left . . .
I'm following a "write 2 sentences, look at babble, write 2 sentences" theme at the moment
Been Babbling through my breakfast . . .
stuck, stuck and triple stuck
I have cy 4/8 anyone got the stat for the other one
Ata I just put a new Ossie picture on flickr....
cy 6
YAH
cy 6/33
Oh - so you tell Atalante and not me, Liz? :P
Fine . . .
Thanks herin, that sounds like a hard one (not in the biblical sense of course0
JC? I just put a new picture of Ossie on flickr.....LOL
Waaaaah. Can anyone help with my missing im7? I have im7/44 and im7/40 (not godly)
Liz was that Oz as pup?
HAHAHA - I was just being silly, Liz! ;) I am sometimes, you know . . .
There are some puppy ones on there yes :)
awww! clever Os!
Surely not JC!!! :P
Its a more normal view thanseeing him with his paws on the ground
dead from cuteness
Yes - imagine that?!?! :O
I know herin! :)
Wow - Oscar looks like he's going to go over backwards!
please?
relates to the po5/12 matty
im7/36 being a plural for im6/24 - looks like a wicked chap followed by a number
haz! la glitterata!
Hazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :) Hello!
I commented on Oscar's baby photo . . .
hi haz
Hello there! I'm not really here.
Hello, Haz . . .
That's it Haz!
Thanks
Oh no Ata we're back in the twilight zone again....where are you really Haz?
Glad it worked, matty.
Thank you, Haz - excellent clues! :)
Yes JC I read it. He really was cute wasnt he?
Hi Haz and thankyou
Wait while I think of a reasonable excuse for being here but not here.
she's - good point - let's guess. I guess Haz is in a tea shop in Tibet.
Too cute - I melted! ;)
LOL
Maybe its really Spangle logged on as HAz?
unlikely. I expect Spangle's kennel doesn't have wireless
Hello Haz, nice to see you
HAHAHA - she's a clever dog then, who can type with paws! :P
No you're right Ata, must be the Tibetan tea shop then
which would mean yak butter tea
LIttle did you know that I'm accompanying the celebs up Kilimanjaro.
Ewww . . .
If that Cheryl Cole asks for mascara one more time...
Haz you be careful.....you wanna watch that Ronan!!!
I'm sure she already is!
What are you suggesting? He's a married man.
I now have seven of the seven letter words
oooo random celeb news. My best friend's husband has just remade friends with an old friend on facebook. Old friend is now a comic artist and draws Wolverine, AND he's friends with Hugh Jackman!
Who's the friend? I have a fb friend who is a comic book writer...
drooool
Never mind what he draws, the Hugh Jackman connection will have some babblers very interested.
ermmm. can't remember that bit!
Not married to me though sadly lol
Who the h*ll is Hugh JAckman??
<-- Says nothing.
lol exactly. a new claim to very tenuous fame!
You keep quiet there Jesus Christ lol
HAHAHA! Oh I am, I am - ZIP!!! :P
Liz! wash your mouth out , we love him here in Aus
Is it as tenuous as my sister-in-law's hat having met the Queen? Or seen the Queen, at any rate.
you don't know who Hugh Jackman is???! *faint*
absolutely, Haz! though the hat was quite memorable
I've been chatting to the Queen this morning...... :P
i've seen the Queen, but never seen Hugh
LIz, he featured in the musical version of Oklahoma on stage in London - the production with Maureen Lipman.
I just looked Hugh Jackman up - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
hey all
A fan is born.
looool
hi bf
Good morning bf.
still got 20 left
I'm still rather fond of JB myself Ata
Hugh Jackman really is quite pretty
sens
oh yes! not as pretty as JB though!
He ranks among the decorative, that's for sure.
The Queen? I protested against the royal guard's bearskin hats - posing nude for a PETA campaign poster which I carred around, outside St. James Palace - and wrote to her, queen to Queen as it were, suggesting it might be time for the guards to start wearing faux fur hats. She didn't respond - she's holding out, I think. My boyfriend reckons she just wants to see me naked again . . .
JB is ......words fail me! My friend Annabel on facebook works with JB :) And she doesn't like him!!!!
*gasp* she's mad!
Good grief JC no wonder the public rarely see her these days - she must be in hiding
who the hell is JS
JB even
JB? John Barrowman
Maybe JB's easier on the eye than he is to work with.
HAHAHA! I have a scan of the campaign poster with my nude and heavily airbrushed photo in my Yahoo 360 blog.
HE has party tricks which she's not keen on lol
he's gloriously easy on the eye
so thats why yahoo crashed!
And he has a nice bum (JB that is)
I think she fainted with shock at the sight of my nude body, Liz - and hasn't fully recovered yet. :P
John Barrowman!!! its my turn now Ive never heard of hem
John Barrowman!!! its my turn now Ive never heard of hem him
thats quite possible :P
See its not just me!
JC you could go pro and use it for your icon
If you get connected with me on 360, Liz, you'll be able to see my blogs - including the one about that, with the campaign poster in it.
Ata, maybe I should just say Sporfle!!!
If he does, I'm leaving babble.
I am going pro, Sandy - in a few days, once I sort out a PayPal account. ;)
*giggles* you love that word, don't you?
If who does what, Haz?
Luaghing at Haz - You really are considering a move to Tibet!!
Sporfle!
I think you should come clean JC - stop hiding behind that shadowy silhouette
good for you JC I googled JB and I still have never heard of him , is he a singer/
Torchwood
singer and actor
I'm already clean, Liz - had my shower earlier this morning! ;)
JC you on facebook?
No, hereinfernallady, I am not . . .

He sings like an angel Sandy
and looks like one too
You do have pages on facebook though JC - betcha didn't know that!
thanks Ata and liz, I will look out for him -is he english or american
Why the sad face, hereinfernallady? I'm on Yahoo 360, that's all I have time for. I've seen Facebook and it's too much - too busy for me! :P

Yes, I do know that - but they're not mine! :P
One of them lives in Manchester - hmmm!
I've NEVER lived there . . .
Manchester is wonderful :) I grew up there
Yahoo 360?
i love manchester, piccadilly gardens!
But its not me I hasten to add
Oh yes? I was there in January - as you've seen in my Flickr page. The photo of me in the Lowry Hotel stairwell, HAHAHA! :P
I love Manchester too. I lived in Cheshire but worked and spent all my time in the city
What's not you, Liz?
I loved the Corn Exchange
Not me that made the page for you on FB
Yes, hereinfernallady - Yahoo 360. It's a social network, on Yahoo's web site.
I didn't think so, Liz . . .
LOL
Oh DoG ! I really have to go do some work. I have two customers in at the mo and a mountain of paperwork!
See you later, Liz.
Yes - I should get busy. I've got 30 words left to find yet, but need the list.
bye Liz
So I'll have to tackle it later - much later, whenever I get time.
Liz?
Where did you try accepting my 360 invite from?
bye JC too
I'm still only halfway but it'll have to wait.....bye all have fun :) Ata......sporfle!
Was that from home or work?
Work JC
Oh - try it from home then, later.

Yes, but technology is always advancing. Remember how the scud missiles could turn right at traffic lights etc? X-ray, cornering webcams are all the rage among the espionage set.

No, but sure there's no need. Webcam focusses in beautifully.

You could buy an awful lot of other things for that amount of money.

Do you have to use special polish for the gold plated letter box?

see? I'm working as well!
Stuck with 9 left
OK OK. Saw an v interesting program the other day on carbon farming. An Australian retired soil chemist has undertaken to carry extensive testing on farms here...very interesting and seemingly very simple with good results for all concerned

He is doing well , He's home , started P.T. yesterday , slightly tachy every once in a while , still weak , but according to the Nurse , I'm taking excvellent care of him and i needc to knock it off LOL
Loredana, sweet little Miss B follows me upstairs twice daily when I bring salads and snacks to her 3 brothers, then she leads the way down the stairs. She has herding qualities.
someone say rabbits?
The rooster probably gave it to him Sandy can't trust that chicken
scrabbler she sounds a real darling mummys little helper all the kids well mine are fat and lazy getting lots of snuggles and treats
Is he anemic, Kris? That could cause tachycardia, or just general deconditioning.

He's going through the stages of " post near death" right now

How did the swelling occur, sandy?
i was having a bone spur removed a few years back and the doctor came in before the surgery and signed my ankle with a marker.i said what are you doing? he said "just making sure we do the proper foot"!
I think it's PTSD but he says hes fine

hey, sprite!
Morning, flosey!
no Lickety clues today?????
hi flosey and sprite
hi there Sprite
howdy, flosey!
Hi sprite!
hi Jimmel
jimmel, can you believe the heat wave?!
hi dear all, how is today's grid?
Love it! Daffodils and Lenten roses are in bloom!
same here, jimmel!
What are Lenten roses?
hello, sprite
helleborus, gramma
Lovely perennial that blooms in winter (Feb) ...blossoms of mauve and white...
Our Lenten roses are under our towering pines...gorgeous start to spring!
here's a pic of mine from just this morning!
Read, you listed seven 7s and then also found the he for 8 you got the si for 9
Une, ours look a bit different...and my icon rose is a "cheat" in anticipation of warmer temps
Wow! You guys are very fortunate to have those. I have snow, ice, mud and some semi-frozen dog droppings from my neighbors dog. Not quite as pretty
just started on the grid, will update the icon themes and my icon as soon as I have found a suitable clue word
there are lots of different colors . . . really like mine -- my mom's is white
But something to look forward to, gramma (spring blooms, that is!)
Love your pics, Une...they are something in the midst of cold, aren't they?
must be a third im...I listed 3 but I only have 2, so I will keep trying - need a magnifying glass to keep eyes from geting cross-eyed. :: Found it
jonquils have been blooming soooo early -- really nice to be able to take flowers to my mom every time I go up!
my pet rock has a bad case of wind erosion --- must stay out of the elements
Poor baby...
BR LOL!
BBL --- grabbing some breakfast . . .
it needs a good extra cuddle, I'd say
Point total please?
***sneaking in...verwy verwy qwietly***

Time to trade my keyboard for a paint brush and ladder...back when the walls are a different color!
Judi he7/36, im7/
Happy painting, jimmel! My living room is waiting for a new color scheme, too. Dreading it.
Ty, Norma. I'll work on those.
Judy, here's what I have, he7, im7 x3, io7, mo7, sh7, si7
where are today's Lickety clues?
We're in one of those "domino effect" modes...water damage led to new carpet, which led to new paint, which has led to new furniture...actually, I'm feeling blessed to have had a SMALL amount of water damage and a LARGE amount of redecorating!!!
Judi .. io7/28,mo8/50,mo7/44,mo9/66 thats all the big ones I have
Go for jimme and it will look great when you have done, then you can come back and relax .........
Fortunately no water damage experience. But, we do know the domino effect. A/k/a, snowball effect.
9 left
Yes, we're looking forward to the final results...bye all!

Oh thank you, Andrew - would never have found that! What a strange word . . .
There are some really obscure, bizarre words in these puzzles!
Wow! Really?? I never noticed that before! </sarcasm>
The im6,30, im7,44 and im7,40 please, anyone?
do you code tor?
Well, torgone - I'm used to seeing more than your average person, from playing Word Racer on Yahoo and doing crosswords - but I find stranger ones in here, that I've never seen before . . .
No but I know a little ..
dam, im a programmer you see, you got me excited there
I do a little . . .
im6 and 7 im + po4/5
(and plural)
We're always bemoaning the weird words that come up here ..
you get used to them
fireworks
Yes, I'll bet you are - but you would get to know a lot of them, over time.
yay cool girl
Was yacking with the co-workers. I can't get today's clues on Lickety either. Still seing yesterday's. Have refreshed numerous times. I am a glutton for futility.
its took me ages
clues are in BabAnon and also in my profile
Oh - programming, Andrew? Thought you meant coding HTML & CSS . . . that I can do to some extent, but my webmistress does all the complicated stuff.
judi, just click on my icon -- lickety's list isn't posted today
i do both, i develop software and web sites
I see . . .
Thanks, Une.
wow! very impressive, bfsog!
yw :=)
Yes - must be difficult to develop software?
I can't even imagine how that's done!
Depends on the software
I suppose - but one would have to learn how to program, which I don't imagine is simple to learn?
well no, it is tricky, but it depends what you want to achieve with your programming.
Clue for im7/40 and the im6/27, please?
Clues for im6/30, im7/44, im7/40 and im6/27, please?
Yes, I'm sure . . .
JC - im6/30 & 7/44: act of mischief (verb) + plural.
im 6/27 is mischeivous
a kind of grin....
Oh thank you, jbp - don't know how I missed that, because I have a grin like that! :P
hee
i'm not getting the 6/30 tho
I'm often told I look that way - or did more so, when I was a little younger.
becasue i can't make it end with ess
im + sounds like an animal you take rides on t the beach
I'm back!
Still looking for the im7/40..
Judi - thanks for the clue, but still not finding that? I know what 'act of mischief' must start with, but tried everything I can see and no suceess yet . . .

With your kind help . . .
The crisis is not having licketys clues lol
Yes ineed - it certainly is! :P

You're welcome, bichon! :)
oh good -- guess I have them all then
Oh, cybernan - I posted a comment on your Flickr photo.
Asking you a question, about it . . .
he 5?
Hi fellow Babblers! How is the grid today?
It's another word meaning 'thus,' bichon . . .
Rhymes with what surrounds your property.
It stinks
ty again JC!
Hello, beachboggle - it's a tough one! :P
will look jc -- that is a really old photo -- can't remember my username or password to post any more!
You're welcome again, bichon! :)
Oh no, cybernan - well, it would be your Yahoo user ID and password, which would sign you into Flickr . . .
anyone have the se 7?
Yes, ruru - what you do with your eyes, pluralised.
oh duh me...jeez..
ty jc
ty jc -- took it from our deck

ty ali
(that was cute al)
Yes, Alison - gn + edelw****.

g + sounds like a synonym for good
(Or, gn + German word for 'white' minus the 1st letter).
thank you all! :-)
done!
anybody know a good place for flower girl dresses?
anyone need more clues before I sign off for the day?
good job krysten
i'd love one for the top e
ey 4/6
wvteach: Not synonym; homonym....
ey+butterfly or fish **t
where are you Jarvis?
ty everyone
and hi BR :)
Hello, ts
Hi, tragicstud! :)
hi jc
becoming quite a regular i see
HAHAHA, yes - although when I get really busy again soon, I won't have much time to be here! :(
This is quite addictive, isn't it? ;)
don't say i didn't warn ya
Yes, yes . . .
i don't think i'm good enough at this game to play without lickety
are there any py words?
it's actually the homonym of the synonym - take the synonym of good and then take the homonym and add it to the g
Well, I'm addicted to some word games on Yahoo as well, one of which is similar to this, only you have a short time limit in which to find all the words you can see in the grid presented in each round, and enter them before your opponent does or opponents do - several can play a game together, at once - it's called 'Word Racer'.
oh I havent played Yahoo games in ages!
yeah, i like the community aspect here
Well, tragicstud - the word list is on the forum now (Babblers Anonymous). I found that was enough . . .
it's like the socialist version of the yahoo ones
Not quite as good, but it sufficed for the meantime.
a clue for the lone e at the bottom, please?
i know what I'm doing for the rest of the day
Oh, they're social as well - mind you, I only go there to play with friends. We e-mail or meet up on a messenger, then get together in a game lounge . . .
not the letter -- the other one
Have you played any of the Yahoo word games, tragicstud?
yup
e#4 long times
long time babbllet
A friend I play them with a lot, just joined Babble a couple of days ago! :)
Her name is Janet - her ID on here is 'itsallminenowtoo'.
guess I need to be more specific -- looking for the e in the 4th row
Oh you have, tragicstud? Which ones? Do you still play any of them sometimes?
lol, nope... not in a long while actually
Pluralise the curvy letter, cybernan . . .
a clue for the lone e at the bottom, please?
Oh, I see . . .
en#4
I know pretty specific
long periods of time or plural letter
clues for the 8s plz
The start of my country, cherty - then pluralise it.
yep
The first 3 letters of my country's name . . .
that one is from the bottom jc
Then pluralise that . . .
i'm still not getting the fourth row one
think thats the one she was looking 4
Hmmm? I thought you said you needed the en4 ?
ecept that we have no idea what your country is, jc
Unless I'm lost . . . ?
he is british right
Well, I've mentioned it enough! :P
Yes, cherty . . .
ty jc -- that is the one
there are a few en4s i think... she and i need the en from the 4th row of the tile stats
clues for the 8s plz
had no idea you were in the UK
en cannot be made from the bottom row?
we're not always here though jc ;)
No, there's only one 'en' word in the entire puzzle.
nop
nope
what a fiasco
indeed
Oh, I see cybernan. You would if you saw the comment I posted on your photo on Flickr - then you could click me from there, to see my profile.
cant type, mo#8 is only one i have, its what my cat goes and does
clues for the 8s plz
anyone want to have a London BAbble convention in August -- or a September one in York?
Hope you remember your log in for it - it would be your Yahoo ID and password.
comes on and demands clues
Sorry Movie....not got them yet!
licketysplit wont work for me:(
Hmmm, BabbleRabble?
how about the 7s?
i would love one in america nan
It won't work for any of us, DJ - it's not updated today.
im7 = im + sounds like beach ride animal
that's what I can't remember, jc -- rarely use yahoo and at my age the memory is good -- just short!
ooooooh ok
thought it was just my computer, its funny sometimes and wont work
some even find words the old fashioned way
Well, is it the same ID as the name you use here, cybernan?
Yes, DJ - I thought that as well, at first!
without demanding clues
we can't all be so smart BR
I feel like making cake
se7....using your eyes!
Yes, BabbleRabble - but sometimes you get exasperated trying and trying, when you're not finding any, the 'old-fashioned' way . . .
Only reason I was asking is that we will be in London in August and in York in September. Will also be in Edinburgh and Brussels on our trip.
I don't think intelligence has that much to do with it - being tired, having distractions, or just not seeing something don' t mean you lack any . . .
This is a really challenging grid to do listlessly. If it weren't for insomnia, I wouldn't have had a prayer of finishing. (That and a heavy dose of a2z to suggest possibilities...)
dont mind giving clues if I can find them, and try to ask, not demand if I need one
Oh, I see cybernan! I'll be very busy over the spring and summer months, unfortunately . . .
besides it keeps it interesting lol
Can't plan anything else - will be working and travelling around the UK a lot.
He/7--it'd be a serious crime not to spot this one.
HAHAHA, yes - good clue, Jan! ;)
im/7--opposite of pi/5
I give clues all the time and am glad to help -- when someone comes on and essentially demands the work of others that is another thing
Who was doing that, BabbleRabble?
I see your point, thats true
i didnt see anyone demanding clues. asking is not demanding
deciduous?
BR, that's why I don't give spell-it-out-clues. And I don't read or follow them, either. For me it spoils the fun of the game.
That's what I thought, Andrew . . .
ven if I did, I suck so much at this game I cant understand them anyways hahaha
en 4 -- add *ood* and services
There's a set of related mo's--mo/5. 6, 9, 7, and 8, in that order.
then, bs, you were not watching
oh well
ty BR, and sorry if you thought i was being demanding...
not you]
Another related set--sh/5, 7, 6, and 6 respectively.
There are no "rules" to this game, you play the way you want. If you don't like the chat clues, turn the chat off. Some of us are smarter than others and its up to us how we play. Its supposed to be fun.......
I saw it babrab, and yes it was very rude!
Here-here Daisy!!
hi all, sh7/32 pls?
nm got it just monkeyd it
fine, daisy... I never see you clue
Oh good, OK - was just thinking how to clue that! ;)
a lot of takers here
I am not much of a chatter but I do "cheat" a little and use the clues from the chat. Its all fun.
mo 8?
I agree that you play how you like. For the most part, I turn off the chat so I don't see the spell-it-out clues. My enjoyment of the game comes from finding the words, others may prefer being handed the words. To each their own...
Mary, would you like to share the sh7 clue with us please?
I enjoy how I play. I use the "list" sooner than most, but to me, so what. I don't look at the rankings either
I agree, Jan - but when I get stuck, and just can't see or find a word for trying, I will ask for clues . . . I hope I won't need as many, as time goes on!
sh7 plz
Alternate spelling of sh/6
sh7/32 it's a smaller or extended sh5/12
mo 8?
Sh7 = (gloss)'ie'.
mo 8 -- with an a in front means to take to task
mo8/60 pl of the 7/44 above
ty all
have mo8......clue for other 8 plz
No worries, J.C. Sometimes we all get grid-blind. It's true that over time, you see unusual words repeat themselves and spot them more easily.
No worries, J.C. Sometimes we all get grid-blind. It's true that over time, you see unusual words repeat themselves and spot them more easily.
Yes, I'm sure Jan - I've found that with the Word Racer game on Yahoo, too.
Arghh...sticky keyboard!!
I meant the first mo 8
mo8/50 extend the mo6/24 above
If you are a steady player, you learn over time. I have been playing this game almost 3 years and I have made great strides, with or without "clues"
Well, have to get tea on here, so it's ready when Mike gets in - have fun everyone! *?WAVES!*
ty, need that one babble rabble
finally the light turns on, ty
how is has your day been, ts?
mo6/24 plz
not the rodent one
good with the kids...the one's i've met with - the others are being monsters
That mo/8 was tricky, partly because I was assuming that the mo/6 was an adjective, not a noun. Looks adjectival to me.
mo6/24 to warn or caution or discourage
i get frozen in here when there's conflict... like mommy and daddy are fighting and i need to hide
like the clue for mo* take off last two letters
conflict? no conflict here
:)
Wow--it's a verb, then. More typically expressing with an initial ad...
se x5, sh x5, si x6, sn x3, sux2 -- missing?
how about your day BR? cold in antarctica?
balmy for sure -- only had to wear four parkas
:-D
missing one se & one si
ty mary
if i lived closer to you i'd love to share an ice cream on days like that...
The sn/6 is one of my favorite words--it's actually a Scots word for snuff but it looks like a Dr Seuss word.
(or a water ice, cause i prefer water ice... but you could have ice cream and we could just share the eating experience)
well, somehow maybe freeze and antarctica do not go together?
(was commenting on the balmy)
mo6/24 plz not the rodent one

speaking of nice work, *eyes Ata* ;)
FYI: the sh6/27 and sh7/32 are slang, disparaging and offensive words for a Jewish person
lol Eva. I know exactly what I'm going to draw for you. I've just had a "I can't draw month"
Is Ata doing you a tattoo design, EvaN?
potentially. :)
I will I will :)
oh, i know youll get to it when you have time. its just "potentially" about whether or not i get it tattooed... (i can be freakishly picky about designs)
Will it involve any salmon?
claddagh
and a salmon
you *should* be freakishly picky about a tattoo design!
I would hope you would be picky about anything you were getting permanently engraved onto your own personal body.
absolutely
well, i wouldnt want to offend the artist. but yes, since its something going on my body forever, i will be picky. but hey, if i decide i dont want it for a tattoo, i can always hang it on my wall. :)
most designs are a case of going back and forward. me doing a design, client saying yes, no, I like that bit, not that bit. I change. Client looks again
etc etc
Not offending artists is, of course, a noble goal, but...
Hi all :) Ata Sporfle! Vicuna :) Eva :)

Ata, I've just got a commission for two logos - one for a romance writers' guild, and one for a romance review site. Tee hee!
Wtg Vicuna :))
ooo! which romance writers guild??!
cy4 - ends in first person pronoun (accusative)
cy6 - adj form thereof, ends in most of a rodent
Just a small one, 8 members, I think, called the Quirky Ladies.
hello again everyone
thanks Vi for the cy4 - didn't have that one
aww, how fun!
Thanks vic
hi ~Becca
9 left, bbl
no clues on Lickety today?
Yeah, something a little different. =)
romance writers guilds like really really squooshy happy fluffy things
Squooshy! Sporfle!
I am learning a whole new language!
This is a lady writing, with a big floofy plume quill, and a big romantic hat with another big floofy plume in it, and swirly vines all around.
yep! floof!!
lots of floof
Squooshy, sporfle, floof! I love it :)
what is sporfle?
I wish we had these words in the grid
Sporfle is an Atalante-ism ::
no lickety, they are on babblers anon
The woman I'm working with is pretty tongue-in-cheek, so it's fun instead of all deadly important floof, which would be annoying.
oh yes Vic, you don't want serious floof
Serious floof would be a killer
No, nor rigidly by-the-book floof, like Harlequin writers apparently have to do. (So I am told. Romance as a genre is not my thing.)
i have a j4/9. what is the other one please?
another je4/9, Becca.
It was Professor Plum, in the boudoir with the floof
no, Vic, floof should definitely be free and easy going!
What a he7 crime, Liz!

can i ask a question without being shot down in flames, does anyone else dislike the fact that anyone without pro status can come on to this site and look up our profiles?
I can honestly say that had never occurred to me!
Good point, Andree.
It seems you want to be very careful with profiles. I have noticed the open door policy can come back and hit you on the bum.
Hackers got into the server just last week.
And hello stidgmere
thanx tina...2 left...
hi stidmere
Hello bunny. We are enjoying springlike days with puffy white clouds with a chance of snow tomorrow. I filled up my car with gasoline today. I like to be prepared.
are there any py? does anyone know?
My lickety's list is not moving to the puzzle for today. The sugestions on the site didn
we have a new player, seems a nice fellow , he kept mentioning peeps profiles, can't say i like it much
no py's
didn't do anything. Atalante, do you not have the list or are choosing not to use it?
I agree Andree, i have only just become pro after playing for a few weeks to see what it was like. I have found that there are regular guys who seem really nice, but once or twice there have been some rude people (who are not pro) come on the chog - i wouldn't fancy them looking at my profile!!
no lickety ytoday stidmere
choosing not to use it. I hardly ever do
pi 6 -- pastry and one of this grids favorite suffixes
Right,Andree, sometimes a bit too familiar for a new comer but I am a shy sort of person and like to check out a room before lungeing into it.
Hey Ata between you and Katie, I think you owe me a new keyboard this evening!
Ah, thank you Andree, I'll get to the puzzle.

Snow joke Ata lol
Actually, I think of it as global climate change. Years ago there was a story about flamingos in New York City and everyone thought it was great science fiction. I think it very possible now.

There are flamingos in Jersey Stidg

Oh, I thought you meant New Jersey which is close to New York. Well, there are flamingos in France in the camargue. Very pretty from a distance.

thx for those stats kim and babble, i now have fireworks
no 6/21
I think the coffee might be a little more exotic than what I just had--a 6 ounce crema. Very fresh and tasty. We got a new coffee maker that meant our two cups of coffee at first were like $400 apiece. But now they have come down in price and are only about $25 per cup. Interesting economics.
i am holdin bunny , miss b, who was near my feet and i scooped her up

there are two different "misspellings" of what you spend at the store, mama.
I thought floor cleaner required 2 ps

it does mama, sorry
plus a plural of one of them. those were my last mo's
yes have the currency like
do you have the mo4 with three vowels?
NO

I have tried several attempts but no good monkeys today!!
sh 7/32 ?????
they come directly before the rodent mamam
leave the second consonant out of the little rodent
Ok ty so much i found those 2
lk, it's like the sh 6/27 but alternate spelling of the ending
add sometimes vowel to word before ik
Still need an mo 6
Before or after the rodent plural
sh7=sh 5/12+ latin for "that is"
do you have two mo6 with the cleaning implement in them?
No wait a sec let me look at that again
Well, without the list I have a really hard time of it. Baby steps to success and all that. Enjoy the grid and good wishes for you all. Poof!
mo6/27 a bit sad
by stidmere
by gmere
Its an mo 6 either after the misspelled currency or or after the sad gerund ending one..
you have the plural of the currency?
yes
cleaning implement+ kinda/sorta ending (this is a hard*** grid)
I should say it appears to be before or after mo6/30
Afternoon, can somene clue the C's?

Let me look at the log.

he says he will get rid of the racing bike as soon as it is over and confine his cycling to going out with the kids, he cannot believe how rude motorists are to riders
anyone have another clue for dummies?????
on the gn word
whew.....only 2 left......cannot get MO 8/50
gn + edelw**** is a great song from the sound of music
I could use a clue for the GN

the w**** is german for a color
i don't have to tell you the color, do I?
gn+ 2vowels + plural
ty andree - finally got it
Thanks Dorens, Had to look up how to spell it, but a very nice clue, LOVE that song.
ik, mo8/50 is plural of word before
me too
mo8/50 is plural of mo6/24.
yes, i've been singing it all day in my head.... was one of my favorites back then, I was lucky enough to see it on broadway with mary martin
how fun dorens!
actually it is the plural of the mo7/44
That does sound fun, I have never been to a Broadway show.
thanks for the gn clue :)
oh red... something you MUST do at least once in your life!
i was lucky, now that i think of it... my parents treated me to broadway musicals every now and then from the age of 11 on... christmas presents, birthday presents... SOund of Music and Oliver were my favorite... + Hamlet with Richard Burton when i was in 8th grade
when i visited new york a couple of times , saw a show nearly every night, the most memorable was "phantom"
too cool dorens... what a blessing
red.. when in ny, you can get half price tickets... many shows might not be worth it. but there are always a couple that are...
the price can really get out of hand though.
that was one of my "life list" things to do, that I finally did last year. saw "Gypsy" and it was great
I've been to NYC, but not Boroadway...But I have done other things, as a teen I was able to perform with my orchestra at Alice Tully hall, part of the Carnegie Hall...
when i was visiting years ago there was a booth near central park where you could line up and get 1/2 price tickets
I want to do broadway show, and also oddly, see the Haarlam Globetrotters.
still is,, near times square red.
ok, come in the summer time when I'm not working and i'll go with you
I saw them... over-rated, red - LOL
back to work. happy babbling, all! see you tomorrow
i meant still is, andree.
bye fuq. a demain
thats interesting dorens as i haven't been to USA for 15 years
I think my visits to NYC are going to be a long time coming now.
But Everyone please cross fingers, My Home is Showing on Tuesday...
mine too red, can't get away from the office long enough to travel these days
hope you find a buyer quickly red
crossing all things that can be crossed
it's been around for a while, andrée -- a boon to the theaters as well as theatergoers.... always a few tickets haven't been sold... not useful for the hottest tickets, or greatest seats, but still good. fingers crosssed red, and someday you'll get here, too
If I can get an offer and get rid of the house I will have some money for a rainy day!
Si 7/32 please?
are house prices stable there red
broadway show is great on a rainy day
sorry lkdubb don't have it
Oh no Andree its a terrible time to sell. but Obama just signed in some sort of 8 thousand dollar tax credit for home buyers in 2009.
ikdubb ... si7/32 ... si + vowel + pastry dish.
si7 - misdeed + kid on andy griffith
si7/32 transgression+ vowel +meat ***
I would love to Do a Broadway show and a nice dinner, all the glitzy NYC things. Especially at the Holidays when windows are decorated.
ty mo, kj, and andree
when I was in grade school the harlem globetrotters with Meadowlark Lemmon came to town and it was wonderful!
well i hope you sell red, keep us posted
kje - thanks - good clue
They just came to the Coluseium here, but I had to work. Cwest, I dont know why but its something I think would be fun to do.

I like the bath part ...
They must realize that things dont run like they do when they are present.
you would think
I had to do a tracer today and it went well, so I am not too worried.
frustration: finding the last p word...
I'm searching for one I word ...
those are awful...keep going back and forth on those
I need about 7 more I words...I cant imagine how to get those ....

Oh yes, she can see them, feel free.

what??
Someone wrote a poem about shopping in West Plm beach at a Publix...I guess it was not you.
anyone know what the 9 starts with and a clue please and thanks
why did you think it was moi?? Never been to WPB :-)
9 starts with Mickey
my Mom gets the neatest birds..has been feeding them since the 50's so they all know where to go for food...but hates photography (here in MD) >:(
I dont know...I think you might have been in the chat when she shared it... I thought of her poem the other day in Publix...
noun: quality of dull, bland, unexciting
Wow, Krista, My Mom has 2 cameras, the tripod...the dual screens for editing....
thank you got it!!

hi jmc...
ROFL...
hi red
I swear I've tried every combination for this I ...
as long as they don't taste them and put them back red. . .
I hate the I's and I dont hate much.
I am talking to my mum on MSN the same person that doesn't know how to sms
Nah, they just block all the aisles with carts....
when i was in high school and worked on a "corn wagon," it always amazed me how picky the older people were about the corn..they'd peel the husks back and inspect it, feel it for firmness..I would be thinking..good grief, put the corn in the bag and be done with it!
yeah but there is noting worse than booiling the corn and then finding the worm
except finding half a worm
ewww JM
lol
this is true jmc, and i am picky about tomatos, but not about boxes of cereal....
lol!!!!!!!
thanks jmc I won't be eating now
at least not corn
Greetings Babblers!
i usually see those when husking it..though i did have that happen last summer..was pretty gross..dont think my daughter will eat corn again

opps
Oh no JMC. did she ever learn to read?
lol jmc..easy mistake, I suppose
no she became a citizen after 50 years because then she could without taking the writing test
she can read numbers and her name
nopie from Gumby should be in the grid
Seems a bit sad. I love reading so much, seems a limited life.
need to get kid out of bath and give him dinner...catch you all later probablly
Or was Nopie from Davey and Goliath???
bye Krista
bye Krista
I think it was davey and G because I am hip with Gumby
bye krista
It was a little dog that barked "nope" all the time
well she seems happy with her grandkids
yes, i don't know name from Gumby..bye all
he was claymay - like both those shows
i suppsoe...
Gumby was more of a free thinker than Davey -- I would expect a dog to have to tell Davey what to do
I read all the time too but we did what we could to help her learn to read
My neighbours just had a repairman over my cats watched the ENTIRE time
i figuered you would not be sATisfied just knowing...
probably getting hints on how to interfere the next time
he was a dog with attitude
just knowing what red?
lol I still liked Gumby better
I meant I figured that if you knew she couldnt read you would try to assist her in learning, not too clear was I!
no we tried. we considered her more of a family member than an employee
she started with my sister before my 32 yearold niece was born
came to my wedding and my husbands memorial meeting
do you remember Davey and Goliath? Not many do
I mean you are a Quaker, we try to help.
worked for me and my mother
Woww, she was essentially a family member.
Oh are you Quaker too? I didn't catch that before
firewords
wtg wild!
Super Hooray for Wildcat1!!!
I was not raised going to church, b ut Parents chose to send me to Westtown in Penna, so it is the religion I am a part of now.
Yaaay WIld!
there are no meetings in PA that are close to parents.
cool a good friend of mine -- a couple of them actually--taught/teach there
Oh how odd. Wonders if we know the same people.
must be in the boonies not to be close to a Meeting in PA lol!
though I have not been back for years. I still remember the collection room and the way the floors smelled. (Ok that sounds wierd)
No klidding! My parents are in the boonies. All Amish or Mennonite neighbours.
not to me. one of my stongest memories was the smell of the linolium and ac when I would open the library door in the Texas summer heat
then the feel of the dust on my bare feet on the cool linolium
did you know that the white strips are cooler that the black tar? ;-)
Bare feet in Library?
hey it was Texas
Yes! I knew that!!!!!!
and I was a kid
From Childhood.
My Mom was the actual kids librarian, so I spent ages at the Library.

I need 4 more k 21 and I agree.

I only have 3 I words so far
Did I tell that my home shows again on Tuesday?
they are mostly IM words with the same third letter.
no, a prospective buyer or open house?
a buyer. Only thing is that it shows a lot but nothing happens..... :(
I have the zulu warrior and the mischevious one

Hi, all
Hi Pam.

hi pam, both 8's are mo's
Another mo8, Judy.

do you have the mo 8 60?
yes
hi, jac, judy, jmc, and all!
the other mo8 has to do with the rodent
You want mo8/50 then. I will (ad)mo6.24 you if you don't find it soon!LOL
hi pam
po5/14?
oh ignore my clue, judy. follow jac
A word for 'poofter', DR.
something that happens here when you see someone you po 5/14 on them
po*** de leon, perhaps?
DR - it can also mean a stupid, jumped-up person.
lbd clue is better obviously I can't spell
got it! thanks Dawger- your clue did it
LOL - jmc. No. The lbd clue would have a 'u' in it.
15 to go
don't understand the po 5/14
the clue, that is
I thought mine had a U!
actually the jmc clue would have had the u
go DR go *still looking for the mo8/50*
Pam - think of what a cat does to grab a mo5/14 and then take the 'u' out.
Hello pam! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
do you have the mo6 before it
judy, day after sunday abbrev, + kinda ending
I usually ask my son how to spell words--I have been asking him si5/12 he was 6
DUH! got it thx dr and lbd
WTG CJ!!
ugh, sorry, jac, I just can't see it... have the 12, not the 14....
That po 5/14 word is p plus that on 4/5 word pam.

I have the je that is je**ica fletcher but need help with the other
are they all mo's?
mo6.24 and verb form 8.50 = think of the ending of a word that describes to 'tell off' for a transgression - (ad)mo***.
all 8s are mo
drop the one double letter and double the second letter, jmc
but are all 17 m's starting with mo?
Judy - yes.
j+ double vowel + plural letter, jmc
the only combination of those 4 letters I didn't try! ty ciocia
thx jac
yes, judy
yes only mo tonight
can someone take me out of my po 5/14 misery, please???
po + o*** upon a time
That po 5/14 word is p plus that on 4/5 word pam
p+ **** upon a time, there was a girl named Pam
Pam - po5.14 = p + 'a single time only' (o4.5)
shoot me

Yes, well, I'll take a cyber shot over a physical slap....

BBS.

You used a bigger gun ..

torg I thought you had the biggest gun *giggle*
That mo 8/50 is plural of the mo 6/24 word jmcnrick.
were you in the hot tub with us the other night, jmc? LOL
I've never had any complaints ..
I came in just as everyone was getting out and well torg. . .
ROFL
mo 8 50?

HEY Scrabbs!!!
ty min
To admo6/24 someone is to scold them ..
I read the chat and am still chuckling!
wow what a word!
Hello Scrabbler! How are you doing? Welcome to grid!
shoulda been here for hot tub night, scrabbs
personally I enjoyed when we got the band together
Were clothes required? I am a notorious skinny dipper--everywhere I kayak I try to swim and not get my clothes wet.
The band is toast I'm afraid ..
Hi Scrabbs.
we had some skinny dippers, scrabbs
why torg?
I have NO musical ability. Well, I could shake a tambourine.
*covers eyes in case anyone is prancing around naked.*
The bass player moved on to another project ..
Hi Jacula
It's too cold here to be naked
I can play a kazoo . . .
hi scrabs
oh jac I can't believe you are that shy (or maybe just don't want to see all the flab)
Looking for a new bass player ..
we could put on a show in the barn!
LOL, jmc.
i play a mean stereo and mp3 player
ROFL lbd
Me too, dawger--haha
lol lbd
everyone can play an instrument in cyberland!
LOLOL
getting nowhere on my final 8. I have mo 6 6 6 8 4 4 6 4 4 5 5 6 9 7 & 8
well if that's the case, jmc, I wanna play drums please
Paper and comb - anyone can hum a tune on that. Tickles your lips though.
you need a 5 between the first to 6s
I think my tone-deafedness will follow me into cyberspace
drums it is ciocia
two 6s that is
another 6 between the double 4s
well that was a fish word, jmc *dons wet suit in preparation*
You also need a 6 in 8th or 9th position Chacha ..
hi all...
Judy - both of my bridesmaids were tone deaf. It wasn't much fun to hear them squeaking a droning like drainpipes behind me during the hymns. LOL
stuck on both mo6,27s
I have been reliably informed that it is violent to fish people so I will fish you with a origami fish
hi pini!
*takes off wet suit* *grabs bandaids for paper cuts*
Hello Pinikula! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Hi Pini!
mo6.27 = listless or apathetic.
I just opened your profile for the word stats, Jacula. TY for posting them
Hi Pini
thx torg. *looking*
the first mo 6 27 is amo**** your firends
friends
Ist mo6.27 is usually spelled with an 'a' at the start. 'You are (a)mo6.27 friends here.'
hi pini
Scrabbs, y/w re the stats.
Hello all -- thanks to Jacula's posting a list, I finished a few hours ago :)
hi jill
Hi Jill
Origami can hurt too. My ex folded a newspaper into the shape of a brick and chucked it upside my head. That hurt ..
hi jilli
Hi jilli. I'm glad you turned up. Thanks for the Trafalgar e-mail. It's a good update on the old one.
oooh, thx for those, jac..
I just figured out mo6/27--TY
lol torg
list? was wondering if there was one...
hi jilli
:-P
Paper cuts hurt, and infection ia always a risk
JILLI!!!! and pini!!!!!
look on jac s profile pini
he7 clue please?
Pini, jac's list is in BabAnon
oh geez you guys are giving me a hard time I think I will just go back to shooting people
ROFLMAO
got it! thx for posting, jac! :)
How about a cork gun, jm?
he + not out + okay y*** guys
a terribe, abominable, odious thing (i.e. crime), jilli.
after all both the Senate and the Supreme Court say that the citizens of DC should have guns
Or a cap gun--both are nonviolent
Aha, ty, dawger
water guns at 20 paces
Scrabbs 0 have you ever been hit by a piece of potato out of a cap (spud) gun? It hurts.
Don't they mostly already have them?
Yes, dawger! Supersoakers!
can't figure out what the ending is on the second mo6,27
Potato as ammo? Ouch.
I hate supersoakers!
Wot? Crime? Not following, jac!
hi y'all
uh no this colony regularly votes to outlaw guns (and outlaws)
Hi Ping!
hi, ping!
hi ping
PING!!!
forward - rhymes with a bowl or d***.
Hi Ping.
he5 please?
A cap gun is different from a spud gun over here jacs. A cap gun just makes no5/10 ..
hi scrabbler, pam, jmc, and dawg!
hello jac!
he5 - from now on.
ty Jacula - just couldn't see it
I was going to say p*** and tush, but I think that may not work in American
help with second mo 6 27 pls
faith, ending you are looking for means, like or somewhat
i'm in the grid!
heretofore is an he10 and not in the grid
not broom + kinda ending
you betcha, pi4!
no he10 scrabs
Me too ping ..
Ah, now I see he5, as in he5forth
Jilli he7/26 = he + 'not out' + vowel + 'we folks together'.
ooops pb for the masses pi** is right
I'm not spelling it out any more than that. LOL
oh, gosh, I'm in a world of hurt...can't believe I've missed so many; but, then again, I do have 73 left! LOL
oh well, good company in the PB
ty lbd
rock on Pini!
This is a tough grid, Pini, as the small on4 often are
for the clue that is
I see what you mean, jac, but I didn't need a clue -- finished hours ago, thanks to your list
Oh, yes, so you said.
BBS, need snack
OK...my "list" is all caught up...now to find them all...
no kidding scrabs!
need wine
Jac, I don't know how you can finish a grid like this so quickly without Lickety when there are several long archaic or dialect words in it.
hi jill
hi Pi4!
Jacs is simply superior jilli ..
I was going to sort my old paperwork out for shredding, but I don't think either my sleeping son (above the office) or my cold-ridden partner (also in bed) would appreciate the racket the shredder makes at 2.11am.
C's done!!!
probably not jac
computer clicking is so much quieter
jilli - I'm just a fount of useless facts and words (plus I studied Latin). LOL
go pini
I'm on a roll...down to 67 now! :)
yeah finished mo!
wtg jmc... (stick around, I may need you later!) LOL
cheese roll, ham roll, toilet roll?
ooo thanks to babbling I got a question right on Jeopardy tonight
had 7 BT, down to 6 now! LOL
nice going jmc!
Or maybe Swiss roll, Pink?
I studied Latin too, and a smattering of Greek, plus French, but my Scottish and Northern England obscurities are lacking, as well as exotic coins and so on
the answer was a Hawaiian goose!
Well done, jmc. What q was that then?
rolly polly?
Ah!
E's done!
Hi all - eating some yummy asparagus and ready to dive in - the grid looks small but mighty
go pini
gn?
roly poly. Double consonant makes the preceding vowel short.
hi birdeee
gnat is not in the grid and it isn't 6 letters...
totally stuck on my last 7; very frustrated
gn is very (g)nice.
looks like I need the second mo6/27 based on what I've seen in the chat
oh, shoot, jilli...didn't see you there!!!
pini, see my icon for the gn6
Hi jmc are you finished??
jac, that's too much of a giveaway
hmmm... * checking it out *
no birdee not me!
Sorry jilli.:(
im7,40?
* I am diving in now*
did you see what I had in my profile?
only too nice if I actually got it! =]
mo* the floor + an obvious word is a f***
I did, jilli. (g)not (g)nasty. LOL
im7/40 - not religious or reverent.
I did, jilli...still working on it! :-/
I am back (yogurt in belly now)--I have im7/44 but need im7/40 please
ooh, just clued, ty
Just clued it, Scrabbs. Look below.
geez, Tor. I should have seen that one. Thx. M's finally finished. now to tackle the three im's I need
gn6 -- gn + edelw**** (alpine flower)
help with no 5 10 pls
TY, Jacula--that gave me 2 words
hi all, i have mo 8, could someone tell me what the other eight starts with?
clue for the im 7/44
both mo 8
jmc - no5.10 = a row or a racket.
Hi Ange!

wtg pini!
wtg scrabs
thx jilli ;)
still need three i's
im7/44 = the small sprite/fairy creature +
im5,14?
is the third letter in the op words the same?
have im 6 7 5 6 7
yes, jmc
im5/14 = small sprite/fairy creature + 'exists'.
yes jmc
ty lbd
Yes, jmc.
im 4 6 7 7 5 6 6 7
ty jac
on to pi
thx pini
I can't see the im 7/40... I think I need to stop trying!
Pam - have you got the religous/reverent pi5/14? If so, work on that.
yes, and just shoot me twice, jac...
im7.40 not respectful to religious beleif
Don't stop, Pam, because when you get it we can shoot you for not seeing it
BANG! BANG!! pam.x
LOLOL, scrabs...
gosh everyone is so violent tonight! lol
I feel like one of those people who asks, and asks, and asks... sorry
Employs jmc's origami/fish bazooka ...*Kablooie!*
Just a superficial flesh wound, I hope, Pam
this grid is exhausting
lol torg
Pam, add a letter to the wartime Pope, who was indeed pi5/14
It's the economic crisis, jm, we are all fired up and frustrated!
oo pam some days we ask and ask and ask
20 to go
just a flesh wound, which is a good thing, as I am SOOO needing a tetanus shot
gogogo scrab!!!
**shooting Pam with hypodermic syringe of tetanus toxoid**
50 now!
but think how calming it will be to own nothing like Gandhi pam 0:-)
Some days you give .. Some days you take ..

I seem to be taking tonight, Tor!
Anybody else need an injection? Epinephrine?

I know, jm, there is something about Gandhi....
Can't find the SOnny & Cher version of Bang, Bang on youtube, so here's the Nancy Sinatra version. LOL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-n6Mrj USbw

I am back. Got interrupted by trojan treats. Had to buy antivirus 360 to get rid of them.Hope I spent my money wisely. All of the sudden I had all these threats
ok fellow Babblers . . . 3 s's -- I can do this I can do this I can do this
wow, min...glad to hear it's fixed!
Trojans, Min? Good to practice safe sex, good for you.
Go Judy!

Haha, Judy, I am glad someone liked it
bummer min
have 6 se's, 3 sh's, 7 si's, 2 sn's, 2 su's. [sorry I'm being such a PIA tonight]
hope your antivirus got them all, Min
oh, min. I hope everything is okay
I went to a website and all the sudden I had like over 300 torjan threats on my computer.Had to download Antivirus 360.Does anyone else have that protection
Judy, jacula posted a list in Babanon, also in her profile
BBS
sh 5 7 6 6 4

mo 9 please?
I can't for the life of me see the difference between using the list and asking people for it here.
my eyes hurt.
I don't know if Antivirus 360 is Norton or AVG though
I use Malwarebytes .. works well
10
Norton, Min
rodent + similarity ending
i use AVG
blink now feather it will help
Go jm!
jilli, difference for me is how fast i want to go. if i want to savor the grid, then i'll ask only for the first two letters on a tile or something like that. sometimes if i'm given more than the first 2 letters it can go too fast for me, and then i have nothing to play after the grid is done!
mo9 - the condition of being ratlike
Go jmc ..
jill we each have our goals
Hello Pi**! How are you doing? You're in the grid today
ty dawg for clue
I know, lol!
hi there, min

Not getting the right ending for the rodent
Go Judy
For me, Jilli, I just tool along. However, if I see a clue in the grid, I like to be able to decipher the clue.
fireworks
scrab, did you see my mo9 clue at 8.37?
yahoo Ange!
scrabs, has to do with the scotland monster...ending that is
erk. um. the G word? is it a gn i suppose?
yes, Jill, but this grid has made me brain dead
In a case like today's grid, I might eventually ask for a "c" clue as I am not seeing the words yet....
Oh, I love seeing clues in the chat
ending signifies "the quality of"
whooooo hooooo ANGELINA

I have never been told I have a short putter..lol
Paged for a butt rash due to diarrhea...*groan*
TMI alert, ruru
paged for diaper rash???
we were discussing the size of guns ealier lol
oooh... sounds ugly scrabs (changing subject)
desitin!
they never heard of soft TP scrabs?
I hate guns
i dont get worked up about finishing...but having ONE p word that I can't find is getting to me!
853 kinds of EWWW Scrabs ..
desitin a little dab will do you
Yes, Feather, and the kid is 5! I told her to treat it just like a diaper rash and she whined, "But it hurts him. What can I do?"
desitin you'll be so debonair
Now THAT is a little too much TMI
*rolling eyes till they spin*
desitin diaper rash won't pursue you
that's de BUN air
5 ? diaper rash?
i would think someone with a 5 year old would have some experience with that...
in you put some cream on your derriere
nah, just raw butt from diahrea
Punch him in the nose. Then his butt won't hurt so much.
Butt, ruru, from diarrhea, which is from an antibiotic that the kid probably doesn't really need
wicked, tor
lol tor
and that is different from diaper rash how?
my dad always threatened to step on my foot to take my mind of whatever other pain was bothering me
lol that is what my dad would do tor
No different than a diaper rash but this mother has a slow processor
** steps on weed's foot to check that out ***
My father would say, "Stop crying or I'll really give you something to cry about."
hey! my eyes no longer hurt! thanks ruru!
that's the one I always got, Scrabb
my dad always said that scrabs
i heard that one with the belt in his hand I am glad those days are past
then I beat him with a stick...
(we all had the same Dad)
Did our dads read the same instructor's manual??
not...
me,too, jmc, me, too....
i got that from my mom, not my dad
i tell my kindergarteners who come up with a microscopic scratch that they're fine, we won't need to amputate this time
no because my grand mother said the same thing and used a crepe mertle switch
but I bet you THOUGHT about beating him with a stick...
lol feather
my dad never said those kind of things. he'd just ask if there was something that needed a doctor to look at and possibly a shot to cure it.
Both my parents were violent...
How to shut your kids up and keep control of the household... by Beetem Up
lol, feather
*Coming up for air from the grid* I have 49 left but when I tried to list it was still yesterday - is there a problem?
Haha, rurur
hi birdeee
no problem just no list burdee
i think half the time the kids just want to hear "it'll be better soon, you'll be fine"
No Lickety's list today
birdeee
Hi ardilla
not lickety today birdee. you can check my profile for the list, courtesy of jacula
go to babanon birdie.. there is a list there
yeah, Pam..i always tell my kids what would have happened to me if I did what they do...people couldnt get away with it now
I wrote a letter to the editor once, ruru, that said that parents who "spank" their kids lose control, self-respect,and the respect of their kids....
okay help with the last si 44 pls
Hi ardilla - wahhh for no list today
it's true, feather, that's what they want...
hmmm
I got hit all the time..
i concur, birdeee
I'll check babanon thanks
I walked around with welts, krista... teachers asked and I told... SO VERY GLAD THAT THE LAWS HAVE CHANGED
I guess it is true .. I don't respect my parents...
My dad hit a lot, often with a belt
the evils of life, jmc
I didn't get hit, ruru, I got beaten. With a belt, a frying pan, a fist, a long-handled shoehorn....
***but I get to pick their nursing home later ***
Anyone wonder why I became a pacifist? Glad I didn't become a serial murderer
I told my daddy that if he hit me too hard I would have welts would n't dress for gym and flunk and it would be his fault
((Pam)), you didn't deserve it!
LOL, ruru
i didn't have it that bad, Pam..sorry to hear that..but what I did get didn't teach me a thing except I wanted to get even
oh.. sounds awful pam.. heavy drinkers?
ty lbd (sigh--thought I tried that)
LOL, jmc. gym was not fun...
no, not drinkers, just violent. One crazy the other violent
Isn't it amazing that the nicest people had such rough childhoods?
remember gym uniforms--one-piece blue outfits---ugh
it worked once I figured that out he would give me token hits
i guess my mom never beat me that bad so i still respect her
((RURU))))
I respected my daddy
i started getting grounded in the 2nd grade
I haven't spoken to my folks in 30 years
Anyway.... I think we have all learned a lot. And, any one of us would aid a child in need.
i'm so sorry for the abuse so many have experienced. I thank my lucky stars that my parents didn't hit, yell or punish like that. well, mom did with a wooden spoon, but it was mainly to get our attention. then a long lecture!
..or angry serial beaters/killers
I made sure that I gave consequences to my son early so that I didn't have to do harsh things later
once i figured out that spanking only hurt for a little bit but grounding was real punishment for me
oh ruru that is sad I am sorry but understand
And I became a pediatrician to help kids & parents
I have several law clients over the years who got to that place
I understand, too, ruru
no.. not really jm... they are toxic and I want to be happy in life
good for you scrabs
And I am sure you do a great job, scrabs
but it is sad that you have to do that to stay happy
I bet you are a great one too scrabs
my mom and i always talked before i got punished because she didn't want to be like her mother who slapped and beat her
my brother was toxic but he had the grace to die
I do what I can--I can reach the kids and give them important advice, but I cannot reach the parents that most need advice
parenting should be something of a privilege... Schools should teach that somehow
my son learned by consequences. I would let him know what his choices were and sometimes he'd come up with the choices. taught him to think his actions through before doing something stupid
my mom hit me with metal coat hangers
lol ruru
was she famous?
I like the whole actions have consequences....
plus i got my shots at home so i was more afraid of that
my brother's dad use to do that when the strop wasn't available
no .. she really did...
mine manifested just like the famous one, jmc....
never on my head though...so I don't have that for my excuse...
well hopefully we all do a better job
must be related to mine, ruru....
we must be brother and sister pam...
I think consciousness makes for a better job
my mom's favorite weapon was the fly swatter...i was more afraid of it because of the germs (started early with that one)
sorry to laugh then ruru but it reminded me of the book mommy dearest
ewwwwwwwwwww
ewww, krista
i've had to call in to CPS twice this year. ugh.
I read a great book from the early '90's--The Resilient Self, by Stephen Wolin, a psychiatrist in DC who has studied resilient kids and adults--fascinating
I woulda put fly strips on her pillow (used)
daddy just had the belt he had cut the buckle off
i do too, pam. Son turned out well. although i still wonder sometimes! :-)
we used to laugh at her when she came at us with it, because she looked so ridiculous
mine was either belt or hand but only on the hiney
lol ruru
LOL, lbd...
double ewww, ruru
Geez, I need 1 more word and forgot about it!
well I confess I swatted my son a couple of times but only with an open hand and only when he did something so dangerous I was out of my mind
never ceases to amaze me, Scrabbs..resiliency..that stinks, Feather..I was mandated reporter, too, but never had to thank goodness
2
I have never hit a thing in my life.
The book has a neat diagram, indicating the features that make kids/adults resilient---humor, independence, etc
except a bottle of wine ruru?
good for you ruru
(other than some pesky mosquitos)
I love hitting tennis balls!!
no flies either?
my grandson has felt the swat on a diaper, and then a time out to allow everyone to chill.
* hic.. erp .. what do you mean weed? *
I have, ruru. I have slammed my fist onto a table...
:)
will have to read that one
i prefer smacks on the hand with my little sister but we talked about it afterwards...she was trying to touch the hot stove...she never did it again
well this crowd has humor for sure!
I meant living things pam.. I break other things all the time..
The book taught me how I survived and how to give skills to kids
Sugar Smacks are good
1
go jmc!!
ok, going back for some more guitar here. i'm addicted now. night!
oooh I have not had those in years...
i never got punished for the same thing twice...because i never did the same thing twice
sounds like a book I want to read -- to bad I didn't read it when my kid was young! lol
you play weedie?
Feather, a rock& roll wannabe
bye feather
don't forget to blink, feather
Sounds like a good book....
*meant "hero"*
I used to play in a band...
you were a creative bad seed, then, ardilla?
yes, right, blink after every song
I photocopied the diagram and have it posted on my fridge
didn't we start a band earlier who wanted to be drums?
did u get lots of chicks, ruru?
I should run to get dinner stuff.
i call cowbell, jmc
i was such a weird child...my mom often called for advice and to make sure that my behavior was normal...it never was
*poof*
Bye Ruru--love ya, buddy!
hmm not lots... but some..

Some of them are so pretty, ardilla..Cool, lbd!

the tabi (split toe socks) and zori (wooden sandals) are actually quite comfy
im 4/6 zulu warrior (live typing that)
my grandparents were first generation, spoke very litte if any english.
i'm not up to geti (the wooden sandals with the blocks underneath) due to my ankle
My father would yell Nadia!! Komenich!! to get us to come in for dinner (seriously)..he thought the last name sounded like "come and eat.."
wow, lbd that is amazing
im 6 (and im 7 is pl) is being mischievous with a gerund
(had to be there I guess, lol)

My friend whose parents are first gen here, never wanted to learn her parents' language, now she is sorry
hi ardilla
yw
this is hard today
my parents had to assimulate, and thusly they didn't speak japanese in the house unless we provoked them!
im 6/27 is to be mischievous and im 5/14 before it is less the final letter
(they were Japanese..she didn't want to learn Japanese as a kid)..i'm so tired, dont think i'm making sense
tyvm cub...was not getting the im7
io6,7?
i'm 1/3 done...but probably not going to finish today
im 6/24 = im + corn po** is a favorite bread of teh South
i've heard similar stories, lbd..it's sad to me, that they felt they had to give up their language
clue for pi5/14 plzzz
we wanted to learn, but my parents philosophy and my grandparents was. You are American you speak American
pi 5/14 is like a Pope name with a different spelling--meaning very good and pure
oh yeah, i'm having surgery again...soon
all io words start with same three letters
ty
ty jmc
it is sad. some of my cousins speak japanese, but that's because they lived closer to my grandparents and learned thru association
aple
very interesting..think there should be middle ground between that attitude and refusing to learn English
io 6 + an owl is w***
again, ardilla?
yw
yep
oh my ardilla..nothing serious, I hope
io 7 is pl of io 7
when?
i mean io 7 is pl of io 6

well come here then. We have lots of things to amuse you. And if it rains, then you won't feel so bad about being stuck inside with your foot up.
is that what you meant by refusing to USE English, lbd, lol?!
or go to hawaii and then ask me to come nurse you back to health. *grin* I could use the vacation! LOL
I'm back again for like the 10th time! 'Puter problems

Hi Krista! I thougnt it was a good icon clue for today
excellent clue pic
krista, i have had clients who refused to speak to anyone in English, they would plead ignorant as to the rules or laws. I knew they spoke english, but liked to try and get away with crap
nope, actually looking forward to it...i really don't like where i work now and want to escape
oh dear, and we thought it would be a good assignment. I am sorry about that, ardilla

we have inadequate manning, tools, and support from our leadership...grrr
I just checked, Min. antivirus 360 is MALWARE. you need professional help on this one.

it's difficult for me to keep my subordinates encouraged

lickety reckons clues updated last night... i don't see any updates... so the 'debate' continues
don't feel stupid..they are VERY clever, Min..I came *this* close to falling for one recently
http://tinyurl.com/aj6dqo which is the microsoft website's info about this.
no clues, Mrp. they didn't update
not a good position to be in, ardilla..any chance for a change?

and now i can find that last p word and go to bed...clue for pi 6/27 please?
So how do I get more than one internet screen open when I am on aol. That is why I do not like to use aol.
they can even issue you a different number for the same account
you are smart, ardilla. I don't actually have a firewall, but then I tend to run non-standard software so it's harder to be plagued by those mean people.
I don't know how to have multiple screens on at once
I cannot seem to get that first mo 6, even with the list. help please?
i despise aol...i use firefox
anyone see my plea at 9:48?
i also use open office free and better version of windows
i dont have that one either, stid
i like free safe software
my job makes me kinda a computer geek at times
on aol, if you right click on lickety's clues, you can open a second screen. it gives you the option to open in a new tab

sounds like the wrong puzzle miz did you reboot recently?
no AM's
There are no words beginning with A
mo6 .... with, in between...
lickety just posted the list a short time ago
there was an am****, thinking it was supposed to be a clue...I am so confused!
