this is just my opinion and through experience that they need that socialization with their littermates until about 12 weeks..also being a dog trainer i have seen lots of dogs that have problems because they have left the litter too early

no, Terra will come home with us on Monday, that is already settled. I haven't heard before about 12 weeks, just to wait until the 8th week (the fear period) is over. Here they say that the period from 8 - 9 weeks on is important for bonding.

I'm not trying to make that impression, in a sense I do agree with you. However, I have read a wide variety of books spanning several hundred years and as a very young child was introduced to many of these words. In this way, I feel the power was taken out of them as they were not hidden from me, but I was instead taught the origin or things which do NOT need to be said or used, but which still are anyway.

It's just the old prescriptive vs descriptive argument. Dictionaries have had to make that choice since they were invented.

my daughter is just 11. and some of her friends are right bitches! totally dominating, mean and down-putting... these are girls who are now 'seasoned' too. Maddie doesn't understand their behaviour, or care for it. They put her down for her choices in highschool. They call her dumb for picking a public school education (it comes in the 90th percentile of all schools for high school certificate)... and she is 10 times smarter than those girls! It hurt her

Well, as what seems to be the closest in age to eleven, I definite;y remember being bullied and looked down upon. There is nothing that can be done, really. You have to have the strength and self confidence to ignore other people, and parental/adult involvement is unnecessary and doesn't really make a difference unlessphysical violence is a risk.

Your advice should be for her to believe in herself then. That's all that will help. Lori never interfered on my behalf, even when I thought I wanted her to, and it was the right call. Talking to the people you love is often the only solution, since you can't change the behaviours of those you don't like. Or that don't like you.

Uni it depends on the values of the school. I went to a quaker school, strong values on equality and non violence. I was terribly unpopular, but in general people just ignored me. Private school that teach children that they are entitled to stuff, just arent worth it...

hi all. my daughter was bullied rather badly last year and would cry herself to sleep every night and hide under the table in the morning. it was heart wrenching!! i went to school and spoke to the now ex head teacher and she was a lovely lady but didn't handle the situation very well. in the end we went to the bullies parents and spoke to them and sorted it out ourselves.most of the children were bullying because they were related in some way so were getting pulled in by one certain child who was lying about our daughter and then the family, mostly grandparents were telling her to do things to our daughter and we proved it wasn't our daughter'sfault. i'm happy to say now that she loves going to school
