That's interesting, Soodle. We went to celebrate husband's 50th birthday - it had always been his ambition to go on safari. I went along with a bit of trepidation but loved it.
We brought our 3 kids, the youngest was only 6. I was in the horrors - Really did not want to go, but it turned out to be the holiday of a lifetime.
Botswana rocks
I want to go to Botswana, Alleyn. We were in Tanzania last year and I'll happily go back to Africa again.
We went for 3 weeks - a week in Mombassa, a week on safari, and another week in Mombassa. Truly amazing
Particularly enjoy no jet lag
I just didn't expect the level of service etc and the attention to detail. The safari tour guides make it special.

Soodle, I must tell you why Baileys raises so many laughs here. We have a large 'travelling community' here and one of their recent funerals featured a wreath in the shape of a Baileys bottle (scanned label, brown crysanthemums, the lot)

Oh Haz, I have seen funerals with wreaths shaped like Hiace vans, caravans, guinness bottles, the list goes on.
They do one better in parts of Africa where they make the coffin in those shapes.

They're imaginative, aren't they? Elvis guitars and fish shaped wreaths also featured. The highlight (so the gravediggers told me) was when they released doves. Possibly racing pigeons covered in flour but a wonderful gesture of peace...
