up to you mrp, thurs? or friday, we can meet at tha fountain?
these two old jewish gentlemen are sitting on a bench.. so Stanley says to his friend Marty.. "Marty.. you look great.. your skin is tight and you are in great shape and even though you are 92 you look like you are 65.. how do you do it?"
tomorrow is ok andree! but friday would be better cause we can come back here for afternoon tea and the kids
okay friday 12.30 at the fountain
Marty says:.. "Well I get up in the morning and do my stretches and have two pieces of rye toast and some fresh fruit.. I take a nap in the afternoon and then for dinner I have a piece of chicken with two pieces of rye toast.. I think it is the rye toast Stanley.. it kind of helps me with the ladies too if you know what I mean.?
you're on!
keep going ruru
keep on ruuster
So Stanley head to the bakery on his way home and orders 5 loaves of rye bread..and the young woman across the counter says:" Sir.. by the time you get to the fifth loaf it will be hard!"..Stanley says.. "So how come everyone knows about this but me?"
(in a jewish accent)
LOL!!! of course!! good one!!

I must be feeling older since lickety told me one of my chickens got poached this morning :((
ooooh andree the anticip0ation must be killing you!
hi book
oh no mrp, those beautiful chickens
kooe..an aussie greeting, no?
it happened at 6am... at dawn... really didn't need to happen if 'someone' had locked them away like I have asked a billion times.
stolen by a person or a dingo?
cooee is an aussie greeting
it is kate but one of my grandaughters, miss 10 is worse she emails me and calls me several times a day and is coming with me to collect him
it was stolen by a filthy english fox!
are there any other kind mrp? lol
bet they will be locked away now, are the kids upset?
tell you what kate, by the time I am finished, it will be a hanging dead fox on the side of the chicken coop
didn't you lose another chicken last week mrp? or does someone else raise chickens?
yes andree... cuddles was a favourite.
hi all hey mrp I'm over in fb chat
that chicken got her name by namesake
keep the brush for luck, and "blood" yourself
hi chic! will come over in a second... still trying to get the fault message sorted in avant on facebook
cuddles, cute name for a chicken...i think?
kate, one of them is called Eggs, the other Dinner.... go figure?
We have Hazel, Cherub, Dinner, Eggs and Merlin (RIP Cuddles).
just reopen fb; it's wonky this time of day.
oooh, chicken chat lol
I am sure cuddles is resting in pieces... but won't tell the kids about that

G'd morning Babblers! Only 186 left ta' go.
***clears throat, grabs microphone and says"free bagels to the first 100 customers in aisle 3"***
Hi Lor :-) Only just started, so tend not to chat until I have a few under my throat.
Under my throat??? What am I thinking of? Under my belt I mean.
lol, Mornin' Sally. ***hands her complimentary bagel***
MMM, goes well with my fresh coffee.
***also hands her an espresso, to help with focus*** :)
Belt, throat, whatevers!
** ooh, that's better. Enters ag6 immediately**
lorikins!!
Mata Hari! G'd morning. :)
Sulks
The ag 6/24 Sally? :D
Yup, one square now grey.
I introduced your lovely daughter to my best friend last night on msn. I think they both think they have a new friend.
Yea for Sulking Sally!
lol Lori. *removes invisibility cloak*Good morning Ata
hi sally!
miracle... we have clues on time!
Oh Ata, Uni adores you. I wish I was rich. I'd love nothing more than to fly her across the pond to meet you.
I adore her, and now Ayla adores her utterly too!
we've already decided that somehow we're going to do a road trip when I move out to Oregon and come across to nova Scotia
Uni is an old soul. Devoted, wonderful. She deserves more than I've been able to offer.
ayla was amazed how young she is in real life. It was quite funny, I pulled them both into an msn conversation and about 2 minutes later I sat there and just watched as they wittered away to each other :)
lol, sounds like her.
Did it come to the "Ata who?" point? :p
yeah, pretty much :D lol. did I care? not a bit!
I'd love to win the Loto, and send her to study for a year in England. I think she'd love it.
It's funny how sometimes people click, isn't it? Even better when it's a tight circle you're in, as it were. Beats friction any day of the week....
she really would. and there *are* strange scholarships available for people to study here. If she found a course or two she would really want to do, she could easily talk to the universities and see what could be available
Sally, I almost asked you for the 3rd a.....***Glad I didn't, fish city....*** :p
tunas everywhere!
It was a major DENSA moment to be sure.
Ahh, that sneaky el 4 I always miss didn't out smart me this time. Mircaulous.
I got it too!
For some reason I'm usually blind to that word, among many others mind you.
lol and I was just about to ponder on the nature of the right hand T ... then found it
heh, you threw down the gauntlet there. It's appropriate for me this morn, that word.
me too, I think
Imagine my shame if I hadn't gotten it pronto?
crikey!! the phone does not stop!! hello again babble buddies
densa would have been proud of you
My approach this morning to this grid, is to knock off all the small letters first. I hope...
Ok, but happy birthday to BABBLE!!!! it is 2003 since the real initiation on this day... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABBLE!!
G'd mornin'
hi lori :)
hi mrp
hi ata :))
Oooh, I'm sharp as a tack this morn. the vowelly ending m5 didn't elude me either.
I used that in lexulous the other day *smug*
lol, a feel good moment!
I only discovered lexulous yesterday!
so sad am I!! been away from the facebook community of games for too long
I'm de blind this morning though. ***skips merrily past the d's***
*d even
I don't see any d's on the grid. you're imagining them
I don't see a K either
Mass hallucination?
think so
I'm good with hthat.
Missing an o. ***skips merrily past that***
my phantom today is shtetl
Oooh, redemption on a de 7. That is a good one Ata.

Just monkeyed the th9. Anyone know what it means?
dinnertime for me, back later
if you tick the little box next to the word you can find out from there the meaning
Oh, I know that, but it says there is no meaning found. Might google it
OK, an igneous rock.
clue please?
if you're still here
Sorry kje, are you asking for a clue for the igneous rock?
yes....
i just realized how long ago that conversation was - LOL
Sorry, was absorbed in the st words. Thinks. th 5/12, then add double vowel then the first two letters of what the British like to drink.
Assuming you have the th 5/12 of course.
TY!!!
would not have monkeyed that
Not an everyday word in your neck of the woods, then? :-)
uh... no ; )
evening all :)
morning all
which th5/12 sally. I have a couple
First one Eva - and morning.
happy birthday, mrp -- I have a cake for you! :-)
the boat one?
Yes Eva
having a hard time seeing how to add double vowels after that...hmmm
Next three words build on or from that.
Hint: you only have two choices :-)
Got it! It just looked so improbable!
mrp is aging????
Actually, only one choice
Big thanks!
Happy Birthday MRP!!!!!
party like your 90!!!
Cake for mrp!
Yummy cake - and happy birthday mrp!

Hello to all. Happy Birthday, mrp!!

Hello, scrabs
hi and thanks scrabbs! :))
happy first day of freedom scrab!
Hallo Scrabs. How was first day?
No kje. Normal word.
scrabbs, did you quit working???
k, thanks
ugh - of course
First day of new job yesterday was GREAT! Nice folks--polite, relaxed, helpful--total contrast to old job.
yay scrab!
hey, scrabbs, great to hear all is well at new job!!
life is good then
Free from the tyrant!
I am SO fortunate, so blessed!
i think de-age should be a word
Yay for you Scrabs and Happy B'Day to you Mr. P
Have to be off now. Bye to all. Poof!
good morning everyone;)
Hi crossy
Hi Bichon + Cross
gm - and goodbye... i must get going... as much as i realy want to sit here and veg
kje, are you able to de-age your patients?
I've been gone for the summer
What have you been doing?
Becoming a grandma again, little boy this time and hiking in the Norwegian Mountains
kinda scrab
good morning Babblers :)
improve functioning and qol - so kinda
Norway? Wow!
have just a moment before i have to get breakfast for hubby
Hi Nono
i bet plastic surgeons think they deage their patients - LOLOL
true, kje
ok, must go - poof
Hey, it's all $$$$ for the plastic surgeons
now why would i want a 25 year old face on a 50 year old body?? lol
Scrabs, what are your feelings on forcing all healthcare workers to get flu shots or lose job
Body work can be done too
I think it is wrong, Nono
so do I, I do think they should get the shots but it should not be a condition of employment
since ive been dying whith this flu the past 7 days, they better hope they took their shots when i see my doc today lol
I must get ready for work now. Oh, cross, getting better or worse?
just in chest now,but wife is just getting into mid stage where her body is one big hurt
have to scoot and get breakfast bbl
((Cross & wife))--you will get better but being sick sucks and days of productivity are lost. Argh!
mabe if i add more bacon it will be a peace offering to swine flu
ugh@thought of bacon..a nice hot tea is in order
And, overthe summer, I lost significant weight. Happy me
new job good yesterday sc?? :) :)

good morning everyone
mornin flosey
howdy flo
Hi. I'm sneaking a few moments here before I really get to work.
Crossy, what's new with you besides being laid up with the flu?
hursh, she said it was GREAT :-)
is MRP in?
not much...wheeze...rattle...
oh good :) !
take care crossy, hope you kick this flu bug soon
oh i know! tommorow is our 16th anniversary!
i better get the wife something;))
Had my flu shot last week, but not getting the H1n1
better bichon,im just dying here..get the shot
we're having out 10th anniversary and my husband has surprised me with a trip. we leave tonight, i don't know where we are going!
Congratulations on 16 yrs.
yaa for hurshy!!!
Crossy, you have H1N1 or just plain regular flu?
how lovely hurshy, have a great time
have fun, hursh! :-)
My MD told me that even though I'm over 60, diabetic and asthmatic, I am in the lowest priority group
undetermined, since ive had it for a week now and im just seeing the doctor today
*i* heard that doctors are figuring the majority of flu cases are H1N1, but not testing or telling people because the cases are mild and they don't want people overreacting.
Congrats to you also, hurshy. Celebrating love is the best.
and as you pint out bichon, they are prioritizing the first round of shots
We celebrated our 38th in June.
38th..goos god...
we celebrated 48 in August
what does the 9 start with?
i do believe the wife and i will kill each other before we get to those numbers;)
Sing with me..."Love and marriage, love and marriage goes together like a horse and carriage..."
lol
lovely gramma
We almost got divorced after my hubby coerced me to go backpacking in Norway this summer. Way too challenging for me
yea but who gets to be the horse??
you guessed it crossy
crossy wants a sugar cube now
bad crossy
hello all ye fellow bablers, how goes the battle?
howdy kate;)
it goes fine, esp if someone will tell me what the 9 starts with :)
send up an offering of burned bacon immediately as pennance...
still dying here kate..no bacon for crossy;(
starts with th hurshy - also the beginning with th5
Good Morn to all, can someone tell me what that 9 letter p word was yesterday?
It drove me nuts LOL

The 9 is a very weird word
Ty TraderKate , I will check it out : )

i guess they're not babblers?
it'll simmer down through the winter kate
ah, no company for the olympics?
no Kate, but I have had a chance late at night or very early morning
no Kate, we'll avoid Vancouver throughout that time
i'd visit my friend in mission if i had the money toi attend some of the events...alas can't afford to pay attention these days..counting every penny. such a shame
clue for the 9 please
ok kate, got yer e-mail and ill do what i can;))
well we'll all understand if you're not around as much as usual
th 9 starts with first th5, then double vowel and first 2 letters of british drink
and, yes, 3 vowels together there
strange word

oh good, i find my nose is the last thing to be right..lol...oh i am fine thanks, pumping music into my ears at the moment, for some strange reason i find it easier to find words with music..lol
i am listening to stuff from the 80's love all that old stuff LOL
brings back memories of discos and trully awful outfits, and Adam and the Ants (i actually dressed like him)
hides my head in shame
love the 80`s music
although i am listening to this one at the moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz7AQlU 49K
visage right now, fade to grey

Hello, Ruru

I *loved* Adam Ant
hi ruru et al
oh wow ruru sheshxy
yes he had many classic hits
i still do Ata, when my car was torched i actually claimed for my adam and the ants cassette, and that was 5 years ago
the 80's were abiguous sexually. I thought that was this decade
** note the gold glitter trim on the bottom of the pant legs*
me too, really. I have his great hits in my car :)
the insurance people called me up and asked if i was sure, and i said do you mean sure about the tape or sure i wantto admit it lol
looool
you are not wrong Bichon, and i think it is getting worse
LOL, jacq
it is getting worse, but it was so glamourous be be bi then
oh dear ruru, maybe the 70's were worse than the 80's LOL
I don't mind the sexual ambiguity, there are lots worse things
i was a skinny wee thing in the early 80's and could get off with peel off jeans
no .. I actually think the 80's were much worse..(example beegees)
LOL point taken ruru
no wonder they hit those high notes
hahahha
yeah.. their pants were too tight
LOLOLOL did they have kids??
they were too narcissistic to have kids..
yeah, we'll say that, no comments aboyut crushed testes or whatever
lololol
i think adam ant went a bit mental in the end, landed up in hospital
really?
he did, he attacked a man with an axe i think was diagnosed schizophrenic
really? I don't remember any of his hits..I remember a video.. but not the song
i can sing and dance to each and every one, i still have them on vinyl

el4 - Babblet regarding school from K-12
Hello, all.
tis only a little babblet
ooh, of course
thanks!
vi!!
and hi Vi!
Wassup, Ataaaaaa?
*yaaaaaaawn* trying to get up the enthusiasm to paint
first 2 of the 9 please?
th9/60
it's a VERY odd word
Oh dear. If you lack enthusiasm, must you do it now?
no, but I've got to start at some point :)
thanks... will get monkey working on that
clue for th 9 pls
I'm doing some drop capitals for book chapters and I need to do an "I" using flowers / plants / trees, and I don't like either ivy or iris. So I'm rebelling
th5/12 + double vowel + cup of *** (phonetic)
i for ilex
Hmm... what about Iceland poppy, or impatiens?
oooo Iceland poppy - I wonder if I could get away with that!
I could be really smart alec and use Ilex - scientific name for holly - but I think that might get confused looks
damn OID ending... grrrrr.... 9 to go
If you actually have to come up with a plant for every letter of the alphabet you'll have to resort to scientific names somewhere along the line. Or do you only need the letters that happen to start the first word of the chapters?
finally got the th 9 -- weird!! :o)
just the letters for the chapters, luckily!
Hi, has anyone got a clue for the GE5, please?
make the author change the first word Ata
ge + robotic ending
lol, nrkii!
ge5 = ge + the ending I was just growling about
What sort of book is it?
ho 5/12, the 3rd one?
it's a biography of a market gardener :)
Thanks very much.
3rd one is what an owl does
yeah, i missed that plural, too -- in a different direction
then the one after [second from the end]
ho + not buy, but ***l
Ah. So maybe Italian parsley or iceberg lettuce? lol
fireworks!
ty nrkii
Yay for nrkii!
hi again all ... I got lost enjoying zoom's pics, then phone rang, and you know how it goes
Hi nrkii!
oh! I hadn't even thought of herbs! wouldn't that be nice?
hi muse1
Hello Ata and Vicuna :)
okay, am determined to go to gym on the early side today...
hi muse
so happy babbling all, and see ya later!
enjoy nrkii !
Alas, I doesn't give you much to work with anyway.
Hello, mymuseisme.
Bye, nrk.
it really doesn't!
I like letters like H where I have so much choice - I'm trying to decide between hops, hazel and holly. and honesty
Yes, words really aren't fairly apportioned by initial letter.
If you go with ilex you get holly and another H, too.
I was toying with an alphabet of animals at one point, but it just got frustrating that I'd have to leave so many good ones out because their letter was already claimed.
that's my sneaky thought ...
I know. It's not fair
and you can't even fudge with scientific names on animals, because they aren't nearly as commonly known as the plant ones are.
nope!
I scrolled back ... Ata there is also flower called Indian paintbrush
I hate k. In the grid, not in plant names... and that train of thought found me 2 k words. =)
Oh, good one, mymuse.
oooo! *looks it up*
perhaps some ideas here, Ata: http://tinyurl.com/ydm59zs
tytytyty you are all wonderful!
Hello, BabbleRabble.
Hi BabRab :)
Hello
How many chapters does the book have?
it's 300ish pages, so ... about 10 probably
How many of these letters are you doing?
I and H feature prominently as chapter headings, I know. and the last few chapters haven't been written yet lol
so we're going to have chaos around Christmas at a guess
Oh! lol In that case, use nrkii's idea and encourage the author to start chapters with words you like! =D
going to! :P
i've done S, B, A so far
what plants?
s is wild strawberry, b = bryony and a = apple
Lovely.
clue for the wi 6/39 please
wi6/39 - a little thingy
Boobear, it's my childhood nickname -- a word for something that hasn't been named
often seen in econ textbooks
like what a hypothetical factory makes
rhymes with Irish saintess
sorry i draw a complete blank
rhymes with a tv robot little girl
thing in the bottom of beer cans
or very short person
or early Sally Fields role
or continuously move your fingers about restlessly
or those very fingers themselves (singular)
LOL
Writing in chat for the very first time ever because I'm getting such a kick out of the rhyming. Now back to my obscurity.
hi tulipp!
lol - Hello, Tulipp!
hi tulipp!
Hello!
welcome to the chaos
lol Vi at clue responses
Well, I'm out of ideas now, I'm afraid. =)
rhymes with what you do to blu-tack to stick things to a wall. that's probably too english though
Unless you start rhyming the two-word things, as in "when they make the middle of corrugated cardboard, why do they r---- --?"
Hmm, I just sort of knead it, Ata. Don't know what you Brits do to it!
I was thinking of a sq word lol
If you don't want that egg salad to go bad, you'd better fr---- it!
Oops, I may have said too much. Serves me right for getting carried away.
fireworks
looool
congrats boo!
which clue helped???
Yay for Boobear! I guess you got the w6! lol
yes i did
it was right in front of me and i didn't see it
congrats, Boobear
sally field one
oh, lol, Ata! The sq works, too.
and the little thingy
Goodness, look at the time! No wonder I'm hungry.
at least you know what blu-tack is!
Yep. It's got various brand names here. I prefer the white stuff, myself, though.
I had to explain to my oregonian friends lol
Great for putting up labels at art shows.
hello > hello >>hello >>> hello tulipp are you still there?
very very!
congratulations boobear
it's usually called stick-tac(k) here methinks
Yeah, and fun-tack. =)
nope, we've lost tulipp......oh dear! another casualty...
it's wonderful stuff
remember silly putty????
and "adhesive putty" which is just no fun at all.
Glow-in-the-dark silly putty!
we had special edition yellow blu-tack here last year!
special edition!?! lol
I know *facepalm*
Yes, I am still here. Multi-tasking.
thought you were scared off
Oh, no. I've been reading you all's chats for a looooong time. ;)
Come on, TraderKate, Tulipp is made of sterner stuff, I'm sure.
you must chat more often,; the more the merrier!
I'm missing the first 3 tes. Help please!
don't know that was (her) first foray into the chog...
Gosh, I have no te's! Must remedy the situation... *dives back into grid*
I've been babbling off and on for years, but usually I'm rushing, so I just use you all for your clues and contribute nothing to the conversation. I'm selfish like that. Perhaps I'lll try more now.
te as in chompers
and as to the sq - rhyme, those princess di cell tapes that were released permanently put me off that word!
te + article: **e; pl
musn't sit on a good clue if you've got it ...very un-babblelike
hello all - back for last few
hi ya ursh
hi ursh!
hello, ursh
I'll be a better citizen in future. Off now--thanks for drawing me out with your wit, Vicuna.
(Nah, Tulipp, it's okay to chat as much or as little as you like. But you're always welcome to join in the silliness or the cluing.)
Bye, Tulipp! See you later!
if you asked I'm sure we'd be happy to clue you as needed tulipp, and it would cut down your time a bit..,that's your justification =)
bye tulipp, don't be a stranger!
hooked
have to dash again, see ya!
on babble??
on a feeling, high on believing ... lol!
yeah
hi luke
hi
you're in good company here luke they all understand...=))
sing it mymuse, sing it!!!
Hello, LukeM.
how long have you been babbling like?
oh and hi luke
hi
a year or so
sing some more mymuse, please?
I can't stop this feeling .. deep inside of me
ah...and you live to tell the tale..do you have a rhyme for us as well?
does anyone have teh 9? I have the first 5 letters, but can't monkey the rest
Good afternoon all
ending = double vowel + traderka**
Ya can't roller skate in a buffalo herd But you can be happy if you've a mind to
hi cait!
the final four letters are a mineral ending but beginning with an improbably double vowel
lalala lala lalala la (singing along off-key)
Ata!! How are you
fine! how are you, dear??!!
When the buffalo herds start skating, though, that's when you've got to move out of the way.
Hello, caitlyn.
hi caitlyn
so are there 3 vowels in a row or two?
hi C
Fine thanks, dont tell anyone Im here though lol
double vowel + definite article minus the "h"
cait? where??!
you guys give hard clues
3
3 total
Hey, Ata, have you seen cait around recently?
Hi Vi, kate elemce mymuseisme, and luke (and anyone I have missed)
Ata, a smidgeon you might find interesting: http://tinyurl.com/yb2thkg
th 9/ 60 = th5(first one) + double vowel + definite article: *h*
SHHHHH Vi
hi caitlyn! how's ya doin' tuday?
for some reason I'm not getting it.
hello, caitlyn
is that a welsh flag?????????????????
Sorry BR I missed you ,hi
got it ! wow, ridiculous word.
yo8u have the first 5 letters th5?
thanks, all.
Im doing fine kate thanks yes it is a Welsh flag
AAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK!
glad you're fine
I'm on to to 6/18
okay..glad it worked
Although TraderKate is apparently not fine?
I think its my flag Vi
Hm. Is she scared of dragons, perchance?
Me thinks the lady may be correct
temporary spasm..ata's here and cait is welsh...just waiting for the torrent of unpronouncable words with no vowels
Let's hope jesdraggon doesn't log on any time soon, then.
LOL Kate, Im olnly adopted Welsh
< puts on tin foil hat > just in case
crwth!
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwl lllantysiliogogogoch!
i have been mercilessly pelted with welch at ungodly hours of the morning..still on first cuppa...needed sedation after that
AAAAAAACCCCKKKKKKKKKKK
Thats easy for you to say Ata
the hat is not working
Was that Welch's jam you were pelted with?
welsh, sorry
you know my typing is horrid
Frankly, I'm not sure it's godly to pelt folks with jam at any hour of the morning.
grape stains everywhere...not a pretty sight
It is against Babble laws
You need an entire tin foil raincoat.
brutal it was i tell ya , brutal...amazed i survived!
can i quote you on that?
Poor Kate(hehe)
quick survey question?
Machynlleth!
Hi kje
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwl lllantysiliogogogoch!
hiya
(TraderKate figures if she can't beat 'em, she'll join 'em.)
What is it, kje?
Hi all.
this is not about me, btw... for a med student ethics case
< cowers in corner babbling softly to herself >
hi kje
hi narnia
Hello, narnia queen.
how many of you would not like it if your doc had a pierced nose with a stud in it?
It is now know as Llanfair pg
me
aacckk
Don't think I'd care, as long as she looked generally clean and well-kmpt.
Male or female?
Llangernyw!
kempt.
I wouldn't care
It would give me the creeps.
lets say female
but a 20 something probably wouldn't mind
I think it would depend if the Dr was a good doctor
Ystumllwynarth!
they are becoming more main-stream, but personally they give me the willies.
well, point being, you don't know at first glance, right?
stud I really wouldn't mind, nose ring for some reason would be a bit strange
I wouldn't care for an entire goth or punk look with the weird hair products and greasy make-up and all, but plain piercing in the nose isn't any different from a plain piercing in the ear.
No you dont
oh no i'm melting...look what you've done to my beaytiful wickedness ata!!!
ok - second question - what about a guy with a tattoo that you can see... say on the wrist?
That doesnt bother me either
fine, again, as long as it wasn't a tat saying heil hitler or something
male doc i mean
Would not want my Doc to have body mods ..
I don't like tattoos, but I don't see that they have much correlation with medical skill.
I don't mind a tattoo, so long as it was appropriate.
Except maybe implants ..
wouldn't bother as much , but what is tatto?...a professional image is important
*kicks torgone gently in the shins*
whenever I see a nose stud, I wonder why modern medicine has not found a better way to fill that hole
Hi tor
last question - what if the doctor had suffered a burn when younger and had bad facial scars?
nose piercing, belly ring make me queasy
i dont get tattoo,s simply because i really dont think the police really need more ways to identify me:))
The same answer, it depends if the Dr is good or not
I think most people would have a momentary shock, but if they are a good doctor, they could have 1 leg and 2 heads for all I care
scars, np, the others are ornamental and there by personal choice
That would be fine.
LMAO crossy!
I want to vote
Look, everybody likes people to be attractive, but you get past it when you get to know someone.
I vote - no problem for any of those 3 things
LOL crossy
I dunno, Ata, two heads might be a bit much. What if both of them had piercings?
i vote crossy gets a belly button ring
oooooo good question
plus i have more stitching than a baseball and i imagine putting ink on all of that wont help things any
Dr. Zaphod Beeblebrox...
Scars would not bother me ..
it is interesting in a way, cuz most med schools/hospitals have dress codes that include personal body appearance (not just clothes) - yet, if we broadened those, others would be offended... and clearly, have been used in past to exclude groups
If my doctor had two heads both with piercings i would hope it was all a bad dream.
zaphod is my hero..now where did i put my travel blanket?....
Or maybe one head could be extremely clean-cut and traditional, and the other head could be a little trendier, to appeal to everyone.
are you trying to ascertain staring quotient?
towel crossy, towel
LOL Vi
you can be my spell check kate
I would not stop going to any of the three if I thought I was getting good care, just like any other doctor
why stop there? make one head male and the other female!!
ie: what about head scarves, a cross necklace, a dawrf, a black person in a traditional southern white community (or vice versa), or an asian in a VA hsopital that serves older vets.... all these scenarios have been raised
What I do always find very unappealing, though, is nurses who smell like cigarettes.
what is this situational ethics 101?
my .02: if I thought the doc was good, none of those things would bother me. BUT, I do care if the doc gives off an overall vibe of professionalism, and those things would impact that. I love that my doctor wears a suit, for example, and shakes my hand.
agree with elem
I agree with you elemce
I don't think I would stop going to the doctor because he/she had piercings or tattoos, even though I'm not keen. I want them to be clean, be well groomed and generally giving me confidence that they don't have more problems than I do.
I'd say a general air of competence and professionalism trumps everything else.
but you don't know if a doc is good for a long time, judgements are made way before then
I agree, with Haz
Hi Haz
Hello, Haz!
haz!!!!!11111!!!
Hello everyone!
LOL haz - "don't have more problems thatn I do" - can I quote that?
will have to ask scrabbs if she has a belly button ring;))
You can quote me!
wgat if you had a Hindi doctor in whose culture women pierce their noses?
what I really don't like is not being to *understand* a doctor because of a strong non-national accent
I need to change my icon, I forgot.
What's the icon pic, Haz?
lots of older patients cite that one ata
Hi Haz and kj :)
well, is there going to be a sign that says: doctor has pieced nose, enter at your own risk.
oops - not syaing you are old!!!
hi muse
lol, BabRab
lmao
we have 1 doctor in our surgery that I seriously can *not* understand not her fault, I know, but still ...
thanks guys, just wanted a mini "lay" perspective to get in gear for this student session
i really dont care if my oncology doctore has the flag tatooed on his arse and plays with barn animals in his spare time as long as he is good where it counts
Are you a med school teacher Kje.
LOL crossy! I agree!
New icon pic - to celebrate 40 years of Riding for the Disabled Association.
Well said crossy
Akin to Haz's comment, doctor's have to look like they take care of themselves, or it does not inspire confidence.
personally, I dress very conservative and have no piercings (except ears), no tats, etc... but it wouldn't bother me if my doc had piercings or tats, or longer hair, etc, as long as they were clean and behaved professionally
(Argh! where'd that apostrophe come from?)
That's what I was wondering...
not really an ethics issue though, is it?
*cringes in shame*
i think it is more of a generational or conservatove/liberal approach to life issue than a true professionalism issue
On the other hand, if I had "House" for a doctor, I don't know that I would trust him based on his bedside manner!
Back in couple of minutes.
Sneaky apostrophes
id take house if he would share his vicodin
well, jean - some feel it is - there should be nothing that makes the patient uncomfortable
but i do not fully prescribe to that depending on the situation (ie: bigotry, etc)
a doctor/patient relationship has to engender confidence ... doctors need to consider what accouterments might prevent a more beneficial relationship
sounds like one big can of worms
rofl corssy!
I mean... crossy! (see? I can barely type, laughing so hard)
Doctors in general make me uncomfortable because so many of them act like they are smarter than you and are condescending.
What I find annoying with doctors is when they get the look of boredom on their faces.
i mostly agree BR - but did have a patient who refused to see one of our middle eastern heritage interns after 9/11 - i don't think that kind of thing has to be tolerated
not really esprit all kidding aside, ive been teen by dr,s with tatts, turbans, stockings on head, suits, jeans and t-shirt and many other combos i cannot remember
seen
well, then caitlyn, i suggest you try harder not to be boring ; )
one of the doctors in our practice did not want to see patients of that heritage!
but being middle eastern is not a choice
I wouldn't tolerate that either jean
(totally elective treatment practice)
LOL I dont go very often kje
I could understand that for maybe a month after 9/11. After that, get over it
unless that doctor was driving the plane by remote i will not condem him for his heratige
we actually spoke in private to the patient, and he apologized saying he realized it was ridiculous, and then agreed to see the doc... and had him as his PCP for over 2 years
good for you, kje
alternative would have been to go find another medical practice as we just can't put trainees in that position
excellent way to handle it, kje.
Do you run a practice Kje?
intolerance is a plague that all of us must work to understand and defeat
we have two male doctors in this area who are in private life a married couple now.both excellet dr,s in thier field
no narnia - i am medical school faculty - back in 2001, i was in baltimore, not texas
O.K. I am thinking about entering the nursing program for colllege.
But I bet they have face a lot of bigotry crossy
Although ... (I always like to think about other perspectives) would anyone fault a patient for requesting a particular gender? I myself prefer a female doctor.
undoubtedly cailyn...
not anymore caitlyn, remember we have been marrying same sex here for 2 or 3 years now
Or a doctor who is very young, or very old?
I always ask for a female doctor, because that makes me feel more comfortable. But I won't throw a fit if I see a male doctor
OK, I must run... should be a stimulating discussion, if nothing else...
The same over here also crossy
Have to go all.
good luck
we are very progressive here aren't we crossy? <hint of smugness creeps in>
all good questions ch1212 - and I'm sure many will come up
Thanks, kje.
we learned the hard way kate
right kje. light the fire then run away!!!!
now its old news
? crossy?
At our practice there is no choice we only have male doctore
we have 2 female drs and about 10 male
a colleague told me when she was a resident a patient needed a proceduer (needle drainage) and said they didn't want her to do it (she is black) but wanted (pointed to white med student) them to do it.... she said she was tempted to let him have his wish
Bye narnia
LOL
instead she explained that the student had never done the procedure and she was quite experienced, and the patient wisely changed his mind - LOL
mindset change is slow in some places im sure kje
she should have!
My spelling and grammer tonight is rubbish!! Thats because Im not really here.
At my health clinic's web site, there is a page for each doctor, with their personal "statements", and their histories, and their photos. It was clear that patients could browse available doctors based on a number of irrelevant criteria.
OK, well tell caitlyn we said hello when you see her, not-really-here
seriously, MUST run
bye
where are you? on another astral plane?
Bye kje
bye kje.
bye kje
No kate, Im grabbing a little me time instead of running 3 homes as I am doing at the moment
sounds exhausting cait
have we lost ata? why 3 homes?
It is
you must have very health conscious homes to get three of them to run
lol
My own,my mums (who is disabled) and my daughters who has had an operation on her foot and leg
i don't envy you, i get tired just imagining itr
Its the ironing that gets to me though, so much of it LOL
must dash...and ironing is horrid as chores go; i do as little as possible!
Cooee !!Ata where are you ?
here!
Bye Kate see you soon
I do not own an iron .. I believe wrinkled clothes take the focus off my wrinkled face
BR will you marry me?
heheh .. I am in shock!
Where were you hiding Ata?
hiding at the thought of ironing lol
I have made BR speechless, that must be a 1st
Oh Ata I thought you might help
hello again everyone

Congrats JMH!!
every time i see your name all i can think of is jim beam;))
tx everyone I don't often get to finish it
lol i was thinking that to crossy
hey cross I think of Jim Bean quite often too!!!!
my quarantine is up tomorrow and i just got a call asking if i want to go to lunch with a man!!!! daughters boyfriend is not impressed, wants to meet him first
dont worry what the kids think jacq, get on out there you man killer!
lololol @ mankiller
You go jac and enjoy yourself
we'll see, i might be a bit punchdrunk lol i haven't left the house since thursday
all the talk of housecleaning has sent Ata into seizures, methinks...
Why have you been in quaratine?
LOL Eve I was just thinking that
suspected piggie flu, but they were just being overcautious, it was just normal flu i think
housework, i have to clean the showerstall tonight, might use daughters toothbrush, she'll never taste the bleach
Hope you are feeling better now though
LOL jacq
i am still chesty and weak (affected cough here) but temp is normalish again and appetite is coming back
im putting off seeing the docs..day 7 for me now and day 3 for the wife..the spawnling had the sniffles and headace for 1 day and was fine:/
I think I saw dancing here: http://tinyurl.com/y9uyhqc
jacq, that is
There isnt so much on the news these days about that flu
cross you must take care of yourself
were they dressed like adam ant?
i love that big band sound, i boogie with the grandkids all the time
more like pete pismire
we like paulo nuttini right now, pencil full of lead, it has an amazing tune and we all go nuts lol
come let's stroll ... stroll across the floor
look on youtube, pick the one with the album cover look
**strolls**
i really didnt understand the big band era till my in-laws did a demo for me he is 78 she is 70,so they could only go at it for short time but wow! ive never seen dancing like that b4

Hello again
Hi scrabbler
scrabbs!
heya Scrabbler
Hello, Scrabbler
Cold, dreary day here. 45 degrees F. Drizzling. I want to hibernate.
ohhh yuck scrabbler
Well its time I went and cooked the supper.See you tomorrow, take care all, bye
tears on my pillow ... I went all the way home ... to say I'm sorry ... as we stroll along together
my mum was listening to the weather this morning and he gave the temp in celcius, then gave it again in fahrenheit so it would sound warmer
I just got home from work (1/2 day), put my pajamas on and will nap soon
bye dear!
Bye Caitlyn
bye caitlyn
brb
hate to hit you up for med advice scrabbs, but at what point should i give up treating this like a normal flu and maybe get a dr to peek at us? im in day 7,wife is in day 3 head ,chest, body aches, lots of rattling and wheezing, but we do have ventolin in the house and are taking all the standard things, tylenol for fevers, lots of liquids etc,we are eating ok,no vomiting etc.i think we are in safe catagory regardless, under 60,no heart or bp issues,no diabetes, i hate like hell to bug them at the clinic, they must be up to thier armpits with sniffles and coughs
If worsening, SOB, fever x > 5 days---get checked.
Are you using Ventolin? If so, is it helping the wheezing?
*spies Ata and tackles her to the ground* no hiding from my housework!
ventolin helps us both,it is the wifes actually as she is astmatic
Hi Eva
but you can hear us rattling from across the room
am hiding! can't do housework! asthmatic!
dont need a stehescope lol
damn typos
hiya scrabbler. :)
The problem with seeking medical care is that a patient-pleasing doc may throw you on unneeded antibiotics or unnecessary tests. So if you are not worsening then continue with "supportive care" = hydration, analgesia, rest
crossy whistles like a tea kettle;)
*pumps Ata full of (looks at scrabs messages) ventolin and points her back at the laundry*
Flu = viral bronchitis
thats what im trying to avoid scrabbs
thats what i thought as well scrabbs
i dont just want a doc to toss horse pills at me
I would avoid doctors/hospitals except for true emergencies.
hello all
sound advice..oh btw scrabbs,do you have a belly button ring? lol
Cross, this may seem odd, but I don't like doctors
Hello, cjmomma
Hi cjmomma
reading chat...is it true that once you have the flu antibiotics really won't do much good?
good morning everyone
hi lynx
No piercings at all, Cross, not even my ear lobes! Why did you ask?
doctors make the worst patients right scrabbs?
was in topic earlier allong with tatts
Antibiotics do not kill ANY viruses ever.
Good evening everyone.
True, Cross, we know how dangerous it is to be a patient.
tamiflu is an anti-viral but the side effects are as bad as flu
Hi elder
hi Elder!
Hi lynxxx
ok gone to clean the shower armed with daughters new toothbrush
wish me luck
hi elder
And tamiflu only shortens the course of flu by 1 day.
have fun jacq
it made me feel much worse scarbs
ok really gone now
I think it all make the immune system weaker for when you really need the meds
i though as much, but nice to hear it from the horses mouth;)
still think you had bad reaction to tamiflu jacq...never heard of anyone else with rxn like you
need more than ventolin!
*knock wood* i dont even remember the last time i had the flu...
vics, tyleno, tea with lemon,my home made chicken soup
Trust in the immune system--it is a highly evolved miltary system. Respect the dangers of antibiotics!
Hi Kate
I do...hubby won't listen though
hi Kate!
believe me i do scrabbs,my da just went through a c-difficile episode!!
Tamiflu can cause neuropsychiatric side effects
Yes, and that can be dangerous, Cross
wow
he was quarrantined for 2 weeks or better
did not know that about tamiflu
hello all
north bay hospital didnt know what to do with him
Hi Peri
Scrabs, we must be the only two people in the US who do not have pierced ear lobes
hi Peri
hi peri
me too peri
hi scrabs...god you emphasize yhe over-prescription of anyibiotics ( and useless scrips too) we're gonna end up with everything being a super bug with resistance to everything
hi peri
Why, Cross? C diff is rather common, esp with inappropriate use of antibiotics
HOW'D your first day go scrabs? haven't seen you...
that makes 3 of us then, Ata :)
It's happening now, Kate, because docs want to make patients happy and prescribe antibiotics inappropriately
what is C diff?
thats what happened scrabbs,he was on a pill cocktail from different dr,s and it messed him up badly
or 4 of you count me
cj hi, chog flying, i'm dragging
Great day yest + today--nice fit for me--rural area, near home, with nice, polite, relaxed co-workers!
thats great to hear scrabs
so very good to hear, Scrabs, they are lucky to have you
oh yea..scrabbs is in her new digs yaaaa!
Lovely Scrabs - you are going to be a new woman
Clostridium difficile = bacteria in GI tract that thrives when on antibiotics. Can kill people.
i had a bunny suit on for you on monday scrabbs;)
I don't get pierced ears, jewelry, etc--I am all about function not fashion
That sounds truly awful
I saw bunny icons here on Monday
yes my da lost bowell control and the whole 9 yards, was quite bad he let it go too far before seeking attn and lost weight, mobility etc
scrabs...we've had several bad outbreaks of c. diff. up here in ontario and quebec with many deaths...hospitals and nursing homes...it's been in news on and off for aboiut 1 1/2 yrs.
C diff infections can herald the beginning of the end for old or debilitated folks---bedrest, poor nutrition, bladder infections, pneumonia follow, then death
have a friend going in for battery of tests because of her gi problems...she lost control of her bowels as well and is only 37
Funny how some guys won't go to 'the' doctor
he uses a walker now
...blood clots, pulmonary embolism...
OR ANY DOCTOR...dummies
cjmomma--could be lower spinal cord problem, e.g. tethered cord
is he improving crossy?
but she won't control her diet either.. will mention that to her, ty scrabs
life is hazardous to your help ... overcome all hazards ... die
lol BabRab, so cheery
ditto that lynx
it is now 5 months post treatment and is on a better med scedule he is diabetic and still uses a walker
everyone is looking for an efficient solution
rough go it sounds like..how oldis he?
I've been through so much, back surgeries, diverticulitis, gall bladder removed, hysterectomy and now helping friend deal with kidney failure
just trying to make it thru each day BR
my lady had a full hysterectomy as well cj;(
yes, lyn, live today
it is ok with me, no more problems there
hard at first but once adjusted it'll be fine
but like i tell the wife,we survive and carry on and help others with our experiences;)
i like to compare scars for shots at the bar;)
i almost always win:))
yup that's all you can do, I had no choice..endometriosis
cjmomma - what happens with your friend? transplant possibility?
he also has hemophilia and had one removed in 01 due to cancer
he also has hemophilia and had one removed in 01 due to cancer
he's getting on this but not likely to be approved
ouch, crossy sends best hopes and wishes to cj,s friend
ty, not many drs have dealt with a 46 yr old hemophiliac, hes' outlived his disease
but that could be whats causing it as well from what I've reserched
indeed
a hard lot to bear, and you are being a wonderful friend
it has been a long 3 years, but have known him for 17 yrs and has no other family really
I have been told I am too stubborn to learn .. too stubborn to change ... and too stubborn to die ... usually as a prelude to "see ya." Of course, I knew her was not being truthful .. he had no intention of seeing me again.
well, I am glad you are here, BR
ty lynx and br you always have such great sayings
lol br,im stubbon as well, plus when they take bits and pieces i lose weight and can keep the calories;)))
(((br)))
lol Cross
I smile now and try to learn and change and live .. being told sometimes is necessary
hi dorens

yep
crossy loves floyd..holds up lighter...
phone
i think you're more than ok. have noticed definite leanings towards happiness of late
I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."
yep
An attitude of gratitude
ok. back to work for me... till later, friends
Bye Doren
take care of yourself, Dorens
back
sorry to run away but I had to talk to Selective Service (everyone under 40 in the U.S. says "What?")

I'm trying to write a blog entry to my cool new photo blog and keep getting distracted *sigh*
concentrate girl, concentrate
I'm trying! I'm trying!
so I thought I'd babble for a bit lol
you might make more headway on the blog
probably! I'm being cross at i's at the moment
TY - you just made me get the last one!
no, Ata -- you *DOT* your i's! :P
I wish my last i would dot itself!

yay, my last O, finally I am getting some words
I tried that right after the other one from there. annoyance!
I killed the chat log :)
<---- pounces on ata
still here, clawed my way past 14
hi Jes
hi Jes!
how's everyong?
everyone?
good good good for a change!!
good is good :)
execpt I have an Ill Husband who is being a baby lol
aww
did you check out Jes's photo Ata, so much like yours
I did! that brought back memories
? Mine's a deer, her's is a dog...
I rescued a white tail fawn though as well :)
ah! i see
lol Jes, you are not silly
i'm not?
yay got hi7
i've got hi4...
there! pic is up :)
2 hi4 - anagrams, hi7 builds on the 1st of those
i still see the dog when i open your profile :(
wah
I can see it OK
i can tell from the little one that it's a person holding a critter... but can't see much. i reloaded and it still doesn't do it :(
i'#ll get you a url - 2 secs
http://tinyurl.com/yejgaem there!
she's cute :) what'd you do with her?
astoria wildlife rescue took her
cool
she sat on my lap for 40 mins from near Longview and the I5 back to Astoria! they have a semi-open door policy, and 6 same aged fawns
so she should have a good life
always best to get them grouped with other fawns so they learn to be deer :)
absolutely!
they reckoned it was 2 or 3 months old, so hopefully she'll forget the day of trauma and human contact
yeah; if they aren't around people very long, and get back to being with other deer, they usually do okay
wonderful!
can they become domesticated?
tamed, in theory. domesticated actually means that there are genetic differences from the wild population, so no
or should I say - dependent on humans?
yeah, and that's one of the huge worries of wildlife work. if they start thinking humans are good and never learn to fend for themselves, they don't do well. get into trouble and/or starve
there is a wonderful blog about a couple who brought up a young deer - let me find it - it's a wonderful read
if you get them young, and handle them too much, they "impress" on humans, and come rutting, the bucks'll be up on your porch chasing the women around.
(but they quickly started loosing him into the wild, they didn't keep him as a pet)
thanks - for some reason I had forgotten they can be farmed
takes lots of special permits, but yeah. elk and buffalo too
lol, that's a bit dangerous!
it is. and it can get humans hurt and the deer put down, so we want to be really careful not to do that!
so apart from eating gardens are deer an issue to people?
well, there's eating gardens, and getting in the road, and stomping on dogs, and breaking down fences. breaking branches in orchards, that sort of thing
another earthquake ! looks way more serious
where at?
http://tinyurl.com/yaqaaof
Sumatra - they say deaths may be over 1000...highly populated
they took their main blog down :( but there's a few pics!
have to say that I disagree quite strongly with some of the things they're doing on in those photos.
no good, lynxxx :(
yes, me too
for instance, deer that are not scared of dogs get eaten by coyotes
keeping the deer at home was a stupid thing to do in the first place, but really you need the whole blog, it becomes more about deer behaviour than doing silly things to deer
that's good
and looks like lunch break ends at half past today. yay for people breeding random dogs in their back yards with no money for c-sections. *headdesk*
*baked potato bliss*
how can a simple tuber taste SO good
Michelle Obama is such an asset!

that works a treat!
yup, vicks for the chest, tylenol for fever and pain and a hot toddy for everything else;)
absolutely!
you both should be out like a light at the end of all that..lol
my PhD supervisor swore by drinking hot lemon, honey and whisky for any ailments. He's pretty much right

hi gramma :)
How's everything in your world?
bloody marvellous gramma... birthday celebrations continue! LOL
Drag it out as looong as you can!
I got all my pics up in facebook finally... will put some in Flickr in my bio shortly. I intend to stay 29 (HA) for as long as possible!!
Are you celebrating yours or Babbles?
mine this time... babble and I share a birthday
I have decided I am 29 with 12 years experience!
Excellant!
Obviously Babble hasn't improved my spelling 8)
hehehehe!! I can deal with excellant!! it is all in the accent!
Has that tsunami threat passed?
ex-sir-lant is how we pronounce it in australia
Good to know, if I ever get there, I'll blend right in.
the tsunami took out much of Samoa, and they cancelled the tsunami threat for New Zealand... but terrible news for Sumatra, Penang... bad earthquake there and 1000's dead
Oh dear. I don't watch the news. It saves my spirits;but, that is horrible.
Those countries live on the Pacific Ring Of Fire... it isn't unusual, but it isn't great for these people... life is already hard enough for them.
I have to tell you, other than a very few stinkers, I love this grid. I'm on fire tonight.
Oops...fire might not have been the best choice of words. Sorry.
glad you are on fire!! I will be today with the bloody heat that we are getting!
And lickety won't go and get the portable aircon for my room!! Boohoo!
Oh my, we're quite cold here and once again, our furnace isn't working.
hey there friends.
Hi
hi trif :)
It's so nice to be called friend.
gramma, we suffer similar circumstances! It least you can dress up... my skin doesn't wanna come off
(((Trifs)))
You're absolutely right! Kick that honey of yours and get some nice cool air for (wink, wink) sleeping.
hi torg!
hey tor.
and mr p
I will always call you friend, gramma!
That's very nice. It's also how I feel. I'm forever telling my boyfriend/husband So and so said on Babble blah, blah,blah..He just laughs a bit but he really does understand.
I do the same thing!
I don't understand a lot of things -- but I do understand that I do not understand the extent of what I do not understand
BabbleRabble, you are probably the most quoted of the lot.
I steal your words all the time for facebook
gramma, are you friends on my facebook??
hello all
how about a clue for the 9pls?
I'm afraid not. I'm only on there to keep up with my children.

how many years has babble been around?

according to the archives... 6 years today... happy birthday to babble too! see you all later!
Gads, I am still such a noob! HB Babble!
Ok, I was on a tear; but I seem to have lost steam. If somebody could point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.AG6?

thanks anyway
Last word AG 6? please.
Hello again Babble buddies
Howdie, Scrabbler.
Scrabbler, you may be just in time to save my sanity. AG 6?
ag6 .. to discriminate against the elderly
gramma - ag 6 is 'how old are you' + ist
Vacuuming is done down here. Garbage + recylceables are out out. Bird feeders have been filled up.
TY, fig!
Oh for goodness sakes! I kept working my way down instead of across. TY and G'nite.
Bye, Gramma, and ? congrats ? Have you finished?
Hi everyone. Got the fright of my life just as I signed in here, as a barn owl screeched right outside my window.
Scrabbs - How was your first day in your new job?
The birthday cake is for Mr. P. I'll have to find a new one for Dr. G's on 3rd Oct.
3rd Oct would have been my parents' 56th wedding anniversary, but Dad died 6 years ago on 23rd November.
hey all
Hi all,
can anyone clue me for the el4
el + short greeting ..
tx Torg
tx Torg
evening Tor, Jac, Jen, Verucasalt et al.
Heya Chacha
any clues wanted before I go?
how many words tonight?
189
ty kallia
Sorry! I seemed to be talking to myself (not a new thing!) so I'd wandered off. Can clue for a short while, if needed.
gee, Jacula
Hi Jac
Are all the ko's sing/pl pairs?
Pairs, torg.
Hi Judi.
Thanks .. got 'em
I'd wandered off again and it seemed to be nose blowing time in our house. Heard son blowing his at same time as me. Neither of my kids has inherited their father's big nose (my little one having tempered it in utero) but Son has inherited his Dad's sneezing and nose blowing technique, which sounds like a fanfare of trumpets.:(
Oops! Almost used a grid word in that post.
Judy - love the pic of you and Goofy.
He to6/21?
Goofy's red top is very becoming. LOL
Past tense of the to4.4 before it, Torg.
ACKKKKKKKKKK JAC!!!! It's Pluto!! The love of my life! *sobbing*
would love some ko clues please. dont have any of them
ROFL Oh, you mean me?
Oooh! Sorry Judy. :(
mkg -ko + ** dorado. Then plural.
ty got it.
Next ko is black eyeliner from the East and its plural.
Next ko4(8) = ko + first 2 letters of Torg's name, then plural.
who is torg?
mkg - it doesn't really matter for clueing purpose who Torg is. LOL
jac, then how do i get first 2 letters of his or her name?
LOL!
*Soothes Torg's possibly hurt feelings over last post.* xxx
mkg - it was a 'spelling it out' clue.
de7 ?
degoo
sorry....
well dont see it or get it. sorry
BY READING WHAT SHE WROTE
Stef - shoulder muscle. (Robot ending.)
But we all know how it feels to not see something that's obvious to someone else...
I need the de 7/36 too stef
just got it. ty
Good, mkg.
de7 = d + first 4 letters of singer (Candle in The Wind) Mr. John's first name + your card you need to show to prove who your are.
*you are.
awesome clue Jac - ty
y/w V/salt.
ag 6 plz?
great clue Jacula, I followed it to the conclusion.
I sometimes forget that not everyone is well versed in human biology, though why that should be so I am not sure. The body you live in should be the one thing you do know about.
i agree jac is cluing great.
y/w stigmere. Nice to see you again.
mkg - ag6 refers to being prejudiced about hwo old someone is.
Well, it took me a while to aclimatize after flying back to the West Coast from Ireland. Loved everything but the flights.
how long was the flight
Stigmere - I heard you loved Ireland. I've not been there yet, can you believe it?? It's somthing I intend to remedy before too long.
hello again friends.
Hi Trif.
mkg, ilf you really want to change your player name, talk to Dr. God about it. I know of at least two babblers who dod it. and Torgone is a babbler from San Diego, Cal.
ty got it
evening Trif and Stid's Mom
and Inge
Trif - loved your Richard Head icon for Scrabbs.
hi everyone
We left Ireland at noon and arrived in Atlanta after 8 hours (headwinds) then waited to fly out for 3 hours and then got in local time at 9 o'clock. Stidmama picked us up and nobody argued about who got to drive back home.
Hi inge.
How is everyone?????? I could not play today :(
hi DR and geek. Why not geek?
Just got here and read mkg's profile
working too hard today!
Hi Judy
Hello science geek. I saw you introducing yourself a day or so ago in chog but could not chat then. Welcome to Babbleland.
now i need to sleep. i am grouchy from burning the candle at both ends
Hi Judy. Doing more chatting than grid work. I'm trying to be less driven.
Jacula, yuor clueing is great.
mkg - why do you want to change your player name?
Hi SG! Good to see you
inge, why thank you.. *blushes*
you too!
down to 45; may need to list now
i have a store at the TExas Renaissance Festival for 8 weekends starting the 10th! I am tired already! Hoping it will be a good thing for me
we are on a rescue our plants from frost mission
Sciencegeek - get some sleep, there will be another grid later and we'll all still be around at different times.
what's the temp?
Well I am doing the ones I can see which is not too many LOL
going down to about 40 here tonight
inge - don't talk frost to me! I've till got tomatoes with not a hope in hell of ripening outside.
Right now it is still 50, but with a clear sky they predict 32 by 4 am
*still not till
wish it would cool off here!
Keyboard's mucky and sticking again.
oops - need a clue for the i in the top column please....
Freezing? Oh my.
Trif - rhymes with Scottish emblem ( a prickly plant with a purple head).
like m*****toe at Christmas and plural Trif
is6 is the plural.
good clue!
oh, I see it now! thanks!
Aw Judy - seeinfg that clue I think you are so romantic. LOL
help with the di5/12 please
Oh, I need to go rescue the corn from the oven. I've taken to roasting fresh ears with their husks on. Very nice but there is a time limit. Hope to see you all later.
camel toe at christmas? LOL
Bye Stidg
I'm having to thump the keys on this keyboard like those on an old sit up and beg manual typewriter.
Definitely time to buy a new keyboard!
nm- I got the di5
I need a new keyboard also. This one is aggravating my arthritic thumbs.
'You dun a Peri then DR?'
yes Jac- I did
my hubby is Perry- lol
Heh ..
LOL, DR.
Hi Torg!
Okay - 92 left. More than half. Think I need sleep so I can be nice to the students tomorrow!
are you enjoying our cooler weather?
good night SG
see you all later :) Have fun!
It's lovely .. I actually had to partially close my bedroom windows last night ..
yes- we have our door open and are loving the breeze from the screen door
Tigers are about to move one game closer to winining their division. I am moving into the parlor to watch. Bis morgen, Gute Nacht.
Night science ..
DR - that's only the 3rd time I've ever heard of a man called Perry. There was Perry Gatfield, younger brother of Russell who was in my clas at infant school, and Perry Como - famous singer - and now your hubby.
we have a Dr. named Perry in our town...
he is named after his father and grandfather and... he is really somewhere around Perry the 8th.
Do you, Trif? That's 5 now then.
It's probably more common over here ..
Perry the XIII? I hope he hasn't beheaded any wives?
I have a cousin who married a Perry ..
I am hoping not Jac since I am the first
LOLOLOL DR!
by the way, Tor - no more news since this afternoon, which is good, I guess
: )
hi everyone!
Torg - heck, there are Perrys all over the place now. Lots of people must like naming their sons after pear alcohol.
Hi Dawger!
Hi lbd.
Hello lbd
That is good Trifs ..
Perry Mason (and his faithful secretary Della)
Evening everybody. How are you all doing tonight?
gonna try to get down there tomorrow
and yes, Jac, I think I am a bit of a romantic
I still can't get my head around people calling their daughters Chardonnay or Sambuca, though.:(
Evening, Nef
Hi Nef.
good evening, nef
Judy - Oh! I'd forgotten Mr. Mason.
Jacob and I had a discussion because a boy in his class is named Paris
Silly me- I kept saying SHE
husband's sister's family surname is Perry
hi7?
Secondo has girls named Summer, Autumn and Saylor in her class. geesh
see- there are Perry's everywhere
hi dr, jac, trif, et. al
HI Ata - Surname is not so strange, esp. in UK whre pear trees abound.
hi4.5 + robot ending, Shirl
Hi Harp- I do not have that one
Hi Ciocia and Jacula and lbd! How are you doing with today's grid?
I know. Just saying. Just being insomniac :)
thx lbd, thought i tried that
hi7, Shir, is a type of tumour. (Robot ending)
Ata - you and me both.x
Hi, Ata and Dwag and Shirl. Still need 45, Nef
One of the forest rangers name is Perry B. i know his mother in law quite well.
hiya, nef and dr and ibd and everyone else!
Oh gee, I forgot I started this in the morning, now stuck with 74 left.
Hi CJ!
Hi Jen
hi red!
go red!
Hi Red- Join the party!
hello Babblers and lurking Babblers.
Hiya Red
Ata - I finally succumbed to being given 3 months' worth of HRT to combat the constant night sweats. 3 weeks in, I'm hallucinating every time I'm at the point of dropping off from waking to sleepiing.
washer is calling; wish it would learn to sing LOL brb
Jac - I just got off HRT a few months ago
Scares the shit out of me and makes me get up again. Haven't had any hot flushes though! *hysterical laugh*
did you have to wean off, judy, or can you cold turkey HRT?
my mom called them "power surges" jacula, if that helps at all
Judy - did it give you hallucinations, stomach pains and nausea?
gonna make dinner- bbs
Happy birthday MRP and babble!
Trif - if you cold turkey HRT, you get the period to end all periods, I'm told.
I think I may have left it too long before the hrt ( a few years) and that's why I'm having the symptoms I'm having. I perhaps should have sat it out and lt nature take its course.
No hallucinations, stomach pain or nausea. had to wean myself off it. Been on it a few years. Needed it because of sleep issues
You may want to talk to your doctor about the dosage, jac. as well as any other meds you might be taking that might be counterindicative to the hrt
My dosage was low and I used the patch
lbd - I'm on Premique Low Dose.
crap, I can see the box in my mind but can't think of the name of what I was on! LOL just love these menopausal lapses
are you taking any other meds, even over the counter or herbals? they too can play havoc with the hrt
gotta love half timers, CJ
ROFL Dawg. Yep. That's what I call it, too
It'ss stopped the hot flushes/flashes, and, most importantly, the night sweats on the hour every hour, but I'm still not sure about it.
Vivelle Dot
Menopause. A pause, to reconsider men.
gah! I just have a husband who is *ill* and seems to want to let me know that every hour through the night with snoring and coughing and sneezing
well, your body needs to adjust to the hrt, and that may take a while. I
I can't comment if it's done anything for my libido, since stepdaughter had to come and live with us 4 months ago and so that's totally changed the dynamic of our relationship anyway and we're both still trying to get used to that.
LOL Trif
i'd still contact the pharmacy or doctor with your concerns
don't think you should really be that sick, Jac
cute, trif
I have a great website with oodles of hyster and related info and forums. www.hystersisters.com
ta
lbd - not stopped all the herbal meds like Evening Primrose before I started the HRT.
evening all!
Hi Dan! how's it going?
evening Dan!
Mant *no not 'not', lbd.
Hi Dan.
Jac, that website I listed has quite a lot of info on HRT
the hystersisters website is great
hi all :)
I don't know what I would have done w/o it Ata
THE BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!! Hi, Mr.P!
nice cake Jac!!! thank you baby!!
(((MRP))) happy birthday!!!
Hi Judy!! thanks sweetie!
Judy - thanks, but I'm still intact in that department. I was offered a hysterectomy about a decade ago but I didn't have time for the recovery period since my daughter was in the clinic for her anorexia at the time and then, when she was okay, and I had time, the surgeon who had offered me the surgery died of a sudden massive heart attack.
Hi dawg! thank you too darling!! I put some pics up in Flickr for ya all
hi all, and HB to MrP (blows party horn)
hi bdg!
thanks Gwen!! :))
MRp - i SAW OUR BIRTHDAY MEAL PICS ON fb. lOVELY.
I really should keep on celebrating! I still have a few more hours of birthday in the US at least! LOL
Sorry, caps lock stuck and I meant your pics.
dare we ask how old you are?
We had a lovely night Jac!
Jac, I don't the info on HRT on the website is just about hysterectomies. might be worth a look
I am 29 with 12 year experience Gwen ! LOL!!
OMG, another ol' fart LOL
She's 21 with about snother 11 years' experience, I think.
MRP the pics are great! Maddie is looking more like you everyday! what a beauty!
uh, I think that's kinda young myself, Gwen! LOL
(I might steal your line there, MrP . . .)
I looked back at pics from 5 years ago and somehow I am getting younger looking! Instant facelife = fringe haircut!!
the secret to looking young is, keep yer baby fat!
go for it Gwen! I have been 29 for a dozen years now!
Ha. 41.
The only baby fat I have is around my middle where the bloody babies left it all after the pregnancies! Will move it up to my face!
how long do we have to wait until wiki is a "real" word?? lol
I hear that people do that... remove fat from their tummies and arses and inject it into their faces...
i think the baby fat is all in your mind, mrp. you look svelt in that dress
gwen, if phat can be a real word, wiki can too!
Gwen - you have a point there. The thinner you are, the more gaunt and old you look as you age. But you get to 100 if you're gaunt and 70 to 80 if you're more rounded. Your choice!
oh, and the other tip, never wrinkle yer forehead. learn to smile and frown using only the lower face.
I've always wanted a face with 'cheekbones'.
and those that can't learn, botox
OMG, stay away from the botox!!
you can colour cheekbones in... I do it with my cleavage all the time!
So I have a niece & nephew story. Leah, my sister's eldest is 4 and a half and her little brother Thomas is 2. They go to a gymnastics "class" on Fridays, and we saw them last Friday for grandma's birthday.
dan...and...
yuh hunh?
Leah was still wearing her black leotard with the silver swirlies and telling everyone about gymnastics. My sister said when they were getting dressed and Leah was putting on her leotard, Thomas asked if he could wear "a thomas-tard"
Gwen, if you frown using only the lower face you end up with low eyebrows, downward wrinkles above your nose bridge and thos nasy sulky looking lines straight down from top lip to lower chin.
Oh Gosh Dan, too Funny!
OMG How cute, Dan.
lol, awww, that's too cute, Dan
That is too cute Dan!!
hope "thomas tard" does not get out into the neighborhood or he'll never live it down!
When I was a kid, we had a bully names Kurt in class and one day the teacher was telling him to me Courteous. I wondered if I would have to be Holli-ous....
haha red that's a good one.
oh, that is so cute!!!
like maddison being lactose intolerant, Luke decided he was blacktoast intolerant when I overcooked his bread.
Now, wonders what a Thomas Tard looks like, and if its a new halloween outfit...
jacula, if my eyeborws are lowering then i'm not frowning using only the lower face. (someone pointed out to me recently that i don't wrinkle my forehead when i frown; apparently most people do wrinkle it)
thomas tard!!!! F***tard is an insult on the south shore. I much MUCH prefer Thomas Tard
oh gads, kids really do say the darndest things.
obviously, everyone should have such a piece of clothing named after them
holy cow the bad puns!!!!
good for luke, mrp! I decided the same years ago :P
Very young children have no id4 about sexual stereotypes and so just go wherever life takes them re dressing or having fun.
Oh Gooly people its so cold here, I am putting on Long underwear. and its 67, I really am a wimp...
Hi ata!
It's a shame we all get constrained into groups eventually.
It is bloody hot here... coming up to 90F... icky, and I can't take my skin off!
red you are a wimp!! it is currently 40°F here. i just closed my windows!
Can you still buy long bloomers, red?
if it goes to 61 it will set a record low!
46 degrees Fahrenheit here. i have the spaceheater on under my chair. when it freezes i'll turn in the furnace
Yes, jac you can!!!
when I was 6 the national air & space museum opened here in DC - for an embarrassingly long time I thought it must have been named for some really cool guy who collected airplanes and rockets: Aaron Space
in=on, OY
90 degrees, Mr.P!! I need to winter in AUS
oh dan
ROFLMAO Dan
hehehe dan!
Gwen - that is probably because you raise your eyebrows when you look cross.
funny one, dan! i'll bet we all have similar stories . . .
jacula, i dunno. need more mirror time LOL
woot i found a word
Dan, I once worked for Traffic & Security and we had to say that when we answered the phone. Finally somebody asked if we had to be insecure about traffic to work there.
BDG, do you ever watch Ace of Cakes? Duff built a dalyx (sp) cake and its top spun and it chirped destroy, eliminate ...and something else i can't remember.
Mr.P - Luke's story reminds me of the time my son once asked why I always seved 'black sausages'.
*served
dawg, never heard of that show, but what, a cooking show? nope, haven't seen it. (i don't have cable and my "modern" tv can't pick up anything. all my tv watching is at a friend's house)
Gwen - you probably need to get SKY TV.
need last di 5 and 7.
BDG, it's on the food channel. darn. you would have loved it. I thought of you and Torg when i saw it.
when i'm rich i'll have cable, or satellite, or s'thing
dalek!
darn it, just got a phone call... son left his lunch at home... time to run it up to the school... back in a minute
yes, dalek! thanks Ata
mkg - di5 = 'same again!' and di7 is past tense of that.
still struggling to pay bills with no health care and hoping i don't get sick before we get it
mkg, when some wants to say the same thing as you they might say di5. the 7 is pt
if we get it, the options being bantered about are wild...
BDG, I am fighting like hell to get health insurance in the divorce...it's war!
listen to the dems and ignore the repugs and it will not sound so wild
Gwen - when I read that, I'm glad I live in UK, even with our crap Government and failing National Health Service.
wishing you luck, trif. seriously.
hi everyone
when they take out the public option it goes awry if you ask me...
anf fireworks
damn you're fast andree!!
woohoo Andree!!
hubs and i were talking this evening about him putting me on his work insurance. 400 bucks a month! just for adding me for health insurance! I'm covered by the military insurance we have already.
Welll done, Andree.
yay andree..
wooo hooooo ANDREE!!!
only the quick and the dead judy
ooh, and you get to pick up beau this weekend??
hoping the new health care bill with whallop the corporate bastards (insurance and pharma) that have been reaming us in and out like giant bottle washers
So, what happens in USA if you are badly injured in an accident or becom chronically ill? Do they just let you die? And if you die, what happens to you then?
amen to that, bdg.
have changed my mind about the name, decided that naming him after a dead pet was reminding me of him too much, so his name is Hugo
jacula, no, law requires them to treat you, but they then bill you for 100,000s or more and you go into bankruptcy and on the dole. Or, in some cases, they don't treat you and you die.
If you are injured and go to a county facility they have to give you care, but if you die and no one is there to "claim" you, the city will bury you in a paupers grave.
Andree - are you still quite sure you want to call your puppy Beau rather than Hiary MClary? *grins*
lovely name :)
my sister's friend had a baby in florida, and she was on their public health insurance plan. She asked for an epidural, and was told they cost $800, and did she have the cash to pay for it in advance? She didn't so they refused to give her one. LOOOOOOvely
No Jac, We have a law called EMTALA we have to treat anyone who walks into an ER for any complaint, regardless of thier ability to pay...but, if you need some sort of outpatient surgery, and can not pay, you dont get it.
just heard of a case where it was not an "emergency" and they did not treat and the patient died at age 22 or so. his mother was on the radio
the breeder had to go back to the vet to have the papers changed for the micro chip and i had to chuck the tag i had made otherwise no harm done
i had an emergeny a few yrs ago, got treated and billed for $5000. pretty big amount for a person who earns about $20,000/yr (now you know)
It's an enormous expense. Hospitals are also becoming much more aggressive about collecting.
i like hugo! as long as he doesn't become a HUGE GO
Thank God for the UK's National Health Srvice, no matter how bad it has become now.
wow book, don't you have public hospitals
I like Hugo. That is a nice name
No we don't have free public hospitals Andree, very different.
i called my rep in the state legislature and he told the the SECRET. call the hospital , ask for a payment plan, give them the best sob story you got. and guess what, it worked! they reduced by bill to $500
would someone please help me with the me5 the first
Bring back Matron to make sure everyone is doing what they should be doing and that the hospital is clean. I, for one, will not begrudge a penny of my earnings taxed out for that.
Jac, your system was set up ages ago in tax collection to be able to cover the cost of national health. the US is just coming to grips with the fact that something has to change or more people are going to die from things like polio or h1n1
andree, i've heard that they exist but don't know where any are. in fact i called several and asked and not one hospital would even refer me to a free hospital.
Oh BDG, we ask anyone without insurance up front if they want to apply for financial assistance.
finally, FIREWORKS!
latest statistic: 45,000 americans die every year due to not having health care. that's fifteen 9/11s every freakin year
huzzah for judy!
regis, me + 4th letter + double vowel
ldb, I will say I don't think more people will die from the dammed swine flu.
whooooo hoooooo CJ!!!
Well done, Judy.
i hope they wont Red, but if the vaccines aren't made available...who's to say?
turtle, i called the nearest hosp (among others) and asked about playment plans, they claimed to have none. After i had emergency treatment and a bill on my hands, all of a sudden they had a plan. Lying bastards
thank you ibdawger could not find it for forever
wtg judy !!! ~~~ !!!
THe Media has much overblown the swine.
Odd.
I can't believe that the USA has never eperimented before with taxing its citizens at source for healtth care, etc. How bizzare!
We have a payment plan,
jacula, it's rugged individualism run amok
turtle, obviously you don't work at botsford hospital, farmington hills, michigan
is private health care expensive in the US
andree, hell yes. there are no strings reining it in. they are really reaming us
No, BDG,, and it helps that our actual mission is "to extend the Healing Ministry of Christ" SO we have to keep that in mind as they pray overhead and talk each day about it.
Andree, there really isn't a seperation of private and public heath care.
i had a work-sponsored plan and the premiums tripled after i had a kidney stone. T R I P L E D
My Insurance now is not very good. They do a lot of denying...
In BC we pay $54/month for complete health care and that's it. Hi all!
It may go up a bit in the near future, but that's ok.
yes, all you non-Usians may brag all over us now about your great health plans, LOL (*sob!*)
When there's a universal health plan it's amortised over millions of people so the costs go down.
for hospital only cover i pay A$756.60 per year then get the government rebate of A$264.85 so affordable, with a family you need full cover and that ofcourse costs more but all get the 35% rebate
I'm shocked at how much debate this has been fought against, I sort of forgot how strong the insurance and pharma lobbies are.
yup. in fact, the guy who launched universal care in Canada (actually in Saskatchewan) is in my book
Payment plans for health imply that payment is personal choice. It might sound a little 'communist' to say this, but you don't have a choice here in UK. At least one third of your wages are taken in taxes.
$54 a month?!?!? I have to buy my own ins, $400 a month, (amounts to 22% of net income for me) an they routinely deny every single claim - have to fight them for it!
My insurance is not too expensive, but it is not the best at covering everything needed.
Tommy Douglas -- good, Gwen!
move over, I'm coming to BC!
We have no nonsense about pre-existing conditions and all that crap.
pastorJ, you and i and all of us are getting reamed! (pardon my french)
if only Canada was not so darn cold!!!
no kidding!
It's not cold here, red! BC is like your NC.
Well, southern BC, that is.
Welcome, PastorJ!
jillibus, actually, i was thinking of Frank Coburn
thank, jillibus! I'm usually just a lurker but health care makes me very talkative!
What I said about BC's health applies in various ways to all of Canada -- each province is a bit different.
Jilli, I am wearing long underwear and long sleeves because the temp is 21 C, or 70...
this is almost too cold now.
hi gang- I m back
DR!!!
Oh well, red, you'd get used to it! We do have cheap heating here too.
hiya DR, we are talking about the weather and a single payer plan
TRIF! - How are you
Hi DR!
I was looking for a payslip to see wht we pay in NHI (National Health Insurance) here, but can't find one right now.
I do not talk politics any longer in the chog but our weather is great
No no, I hate cold weather, it causes me severe depression.
Hi Jilli
I'm so sick of all the lies being told about Canadian health care.
4 of the 5 bills currently in congress have a public option, yet the corporate-media noise machine keeps saying the public option is "dead" or "in trouble" and shit like that
I have no more news, DR.
Trif- how are the kids?
lying bastards!!! (okay, i'm done.)
well no news could be good news :)
I wish they would go whole hog and establish it, this back and forth is very confusing, multioptions...too much.
Private gealth insurance, if you read the small print, pays for almost nothing.
Hi DR< like thumper.
thanks Red-
i've only found one word since i got here this evening. back into the grid . . .
In Quebec we didn't know how much we paid for health care. When I moved to BC in 1996 we paid $36, but soon it wnt to $54. A hike is expected.
yes, I guess. I am going to see him tomorrow morning, hopefully, and hopefully speak with a doctor, or at least my brother, and have more info then
I will hold a good thought
thanks, dr. I really, really appreciate it.
Jilli it is less for me because I am still working and my employer helps with the monthly premium. I hope the US gets coverage that allows them the dignity we have here too.
you have had so much the past 12 months- it is enough already
Trif I am sorry that something else bad has happened for you but I must say, your icon is the best!
The NHS began 'properly' here in UK in 1948 at The London Hospital, but hospitals had operated free care for the poor long before that, depending on the rich donating money to help the poor.
t's are toppled- now to the s
thanks bugsaw. It's in scrabbler's honor, of course
Lucky you, bugs! As a widow on a fixed income I get no extra help. Th insurance companies here still get business, don't they -- Blue Cross and such for things like physiotherapy, whatever -- do they cover stuff like acupuncture and other alternatives?
ask a republican what to do with cancer and no health care, and they say try a charity. and those bastards don't give to charities and they have super health care. AAAUGHH. (sorry, said i was done.)
I've been so out of touch lately -- what's happened in trif's life? Please?
Jili, my dad suffered a bad fall, and is in ICU in a medically induced coma.
Oh dear, Trif -- but that's a wonderful newish treatment, isn't it, with lots of hope attached?
I will know more tomorrow, hopefully.
are you going alone trif?
fingers and toes crossed, trif!
oh dear trif, i did not know that, will he get better?
I think all three of us girls and going.
That is what we are hoping, andree, very much.

His name is Charles, and please, if you are so inclined, remember him in your prayers tonight.....
i hope so too, sending good vibes to trif and her dad
consider it done Trif
that's good, trif! And when he's awakened, he'll be so happy to see how much you all care.
thank you babble friends. The grid is such a good distraction sometimes, isn't it?
trif my books from the monks of new skete arrived, they are fantastic and so well written
yes- I use it as a distraction a lot
don't we all Dr?
I will pray for him Tri
The monks of New Skete really know what they're doing.
oh, I am so glad, andree! I am waiting for an online-ordered book myself. Seems I paid for it to be shipped on a donkey with four broken legs, or something!
thanks ali

yw
I have enjoyed some books the Monks have done too...

I had never heard of these books Jilli but trif recommended them, I have not owned a dog for 6 years and needed a brush up
Guess what. I have 37 words, and I don't care. I have to reheat some dinner soon.
Go Jilli!
I bought Dan Brown's new book today, but haven't started it yet....
have a dog DR?
Andree, they're well known in the dog world over here, especially in obedience training and now, I think in the other branches like Agility and Rally-O
yes- we have schmutz
hi all... i read 3 cups of tea
Trif -- Time mag gave it a rather amusing review this week
Dr I got'the art of raising a puppy" and " how to be your dogs best friend"
I will search for them
