no ruru... he has strict orders from Master Lee (and Grandmaster Lee) to only do poomse at home. no sparring or breaking.
red and black are near the top gwen
I didn't know of a purple belt stid, where does it come in

hubby can't either ru
I liked abba... funky, fun music. Not serious, but I don't need serious. Enough of that in my real life.
I have Fernando on my playlist
I so agree west; one of our most talented I think
I play it when he's out
I overlook your bad taste in music jilli and appreciate you as you are
saw her being Julia -- amazing
same to you, ruru
meryl streep is scary, she's so good. *feelings of overall inadequacy...* if I were half as talented and hard-working as she is... *sigh*

ur8, stid, and strange
so many actors / actresses play the same kind of character in every movie... she is one of the few who can truly change her persona and be perfect for a role
our daughter's friend's grandmother knew her..think they went to school together
ur 6/24 and ur 8/50
here I've been looking for a ur4
*trying to track generational affiliationm, failing and going back to grid*
I agree dee so many actors just play themselves
need a bit more help -- or more time.
I think I am going to turn in... will troll chog for clues in the morning. down to 76.
(((hugs all))) see you-all again soon~! *poof*
well done, stid!

oh that's good to hear seemed like he was in such awful pain
hard when your kids are hurting
Vermont does have some fun stuff
he really was suffering, glad it went away. Oh, and when we finally got a doctor who would take the medical card, she sent out a letter about 3 weeks later saying she was leaving for another position somewhere else, so back to square one finding another one.
ugh don't you just hate that
I can't wait to see what kind of mess they'll make with health care
wish we had the old gp's again the ones that made house calls
I never did understand how a house could get better service
it's already so bad, no one will take the cards and we sure can't afford "real" insurance.
hey there bab
there's definitely a need for high tech medicine but our family doctor took out my tonsils and delivered my brother and everything in between
Oh, yes, those were better days, no doubt in my mind. sort of like dentists, I search out the older ones, they seem to know and do so much more than the young ones I've tried.

what I really hate is going out and having dinner, but coming home and having to have dinner again so as not to offend the dinner maker at home cause I neglected to say I was having dinner out... I am as stuffed as a razorback

Seeing as Australia will be there

I really like the Barclays Premier League ... is on all through the week!!
Not forgetting the Champions League too, mrp
US tied Costa Rica yesterday, which was enough to earn them a point + put us at the top of the list. :) watching it on tv, i kept forgetting it was a tie game, because from the celebrations, you would have thought we won!
It's Chelsea vs. Atletico Madrid next week

Well, evan, the US will be in the Finals next year
no sleep for us movieman!
does anyone have a clue for the de6?

Good morning/day kids, from New Jersey where I am spending 5 days with my youngest sister. We are playing Scrabble. She beat me last night.

How come it's so easy to make text boobies and veejayjays, but not penises?
well, obviously you did - can you clue it?
men play with computers a lot judi. :-)

I am here- just a sec
Well, computers WERE invented by a man
oooh - cool DR - ty

hi trif
hi/bye Trif--- make sure you read the chog- quite entertainingthis morning
text penis 8=====D
* POOF* \
that di sounds like a penis decoration, lol
Good one Jean!
things here are a mixed bag. best news first - car.eeyore spoke to my dad yesterday!!!! his first meaningful interaction in a week!
YAY!! you must be walking on air
on the "legal front" no good news at all. They put their "big offer" on the table - state minimum child support, no alimony, no health insurance. Gee, thanks honey. Obviously I didn't accept that, but we are sort of at a stalemate now. I don't understand where his intolerable hatred of me comes from.
wow - that is bad news Trif. not too cool, especially given the kids
yes, I am quite happy about my dad. I am going to try to sneak down and see him today. Probably will do what I did last time - bring a book to read to him, and some music for him to listen to, even if he is not aware when I am there. Knowing he was awake for a little while is such balm to the soul though
Let's not forget that some divorce lawyers are major assholes, too. I know. I used to work with one.
reminds me,must call my da..brb
I know it is Trif. I am glad that he has made that progress
yes, his lawyer is quite rude, judi. clearly not interested in settling, wants to get all he can out of us.
Hi Trif - long time no see. Sorry about the hassle on the legal front.
That's their job, Trif. I don't know how they sleep at night.
I have asked mr. hate to meet me for drinks tonight, and a chat - hopefully he and I can come up with a better plan. if not, hey, at least I tried.
hello soodle! Spoke with ireland yesterday....how are you?
I hate rude people. You just know their life sucks and they want everyone else's to do so too
I hear you, wolvie. I hate undeserved arrogance.
good luck on that front trif. I hope he sees the light.
clue for ar 4/6
ta wolvie. any hints for the bottom a, second from left please?
I'm OK thanks. At least Mr Hate is still around! My ex just walked out of our house in June 07, and we haven't seen him since then. Last heard of in Bangkok, thailand!!!
good lord, soodle! I am so sorry to hear that!
Think desert, Boobear, dry. I missed the di6 if someone can reclue it?
nope - I have been trying for that a for awhile. got a lot of good a words from trying tho
penis decoration mich. :-)
Well, we are over 2 years on since he skedaddled, but it is tough!
OMG soodle - how awful
he wasn't one of those bank guys was he soodle?
I am soo clueless. All the ones I've ever seen were undecorated!
I am not being insensitvie Soodle & Trif. I am burning up at your stories.
geesh, soodle, I am really sorry to hear that!
It was the mid-life crisis to end all mid-life crises!! He had his own building business which went pear-shaped, couldn't stand the thought of the bank repossessing all his vehicles etc, so he just walked. Left me to pick up the pieces! What a guy!!
lol,always decorate mine at x-mass;)
do you have children, soodle?
mich - di plus high score cons, plus 3 letter slang for skin art
I bet you do, crossy!rofl
I will never think of Christmas balls the same way, crossy, thanks for that!
wow soodle. it can only go up from there
LOL trif!
Thanks Wolvie, I never would have come up with that on my own.
Soodle, do you have kids? How have they coped?
3 Trif. A boy now 19, a girl now 17 and another girl now 14. So they were at particularly difficult ages when their dad ran away.
another babbler clued me mich, so we share. :-)
hard part is the tinsel
ouch. I am so, so sorry soodle.
oh man - how did that take that? rough ages to be abandoned like that
I would have guessed the decorative holly sprigs, crossy
crossyyyyyyyyy have you been brething swine flu across to the UK????
nope - not going to say the obvious, crossy. i will restrain myself. ;-0
hey ata
They are coping. But I often wonder how will it affect them in years to come.
does it have to do with mistletoe, wolvie?
but then... nope. I just won't do it. lol
ata!!:)),nope, but ours were a pair of confirmed cases
well then they are very resilient kids soodle. congrats
do they have any contact with him at all, soodle? phone calls? an email now and then?
I have tamiflu *sigh* and feel like I'm dying!
well, more like why tinsel would be hard to hang..
oh ata - hope you get better soon. didn't know you were ill.
Wow, those really are awful ages. It could really mess up their understanding of relationship & commitment. I am sure you have given them a lot.
I wasn't till yesterday!!!
((((ata)))))
ata - love your icon
well wolvie, you have to use tape instead of staples for one thing
lol - draping works
if it holds up
I would have thought thumbtacks would do the just.
ouch
heh heh mich
Occasional random drunk phone calls. He is totally paranoid. Reckons his e mail & phone is being tapped into. Any contact with him is very very negative. Cross - I am going to start a campaign for you to post photos of your decorations around Christmas!!!
Yeah - good idea soodle!
do you have national health care where you are soodle?
Sounds like more than just mid-life crisis. Could he have really gone around the bend?
on the crossy...front, I mean. lol
sorry bout you hubby woes trif and soodles;/
To be honest, he was always a very troubled person. Violent, alcohol dependant and extremely selfish. We are truly better off without him.
the hanging gardens of crossybukadnezar
yes, do make sure to post photos, crossy - I am dependent on just memories now.....
lol trif..see what i can do
well folks - I am off to face the day for awhile - ttfn

good morning everyone
hi, flosey.
Hello everyone
OK, now I must go. NBT and not much else to show for my 20 minute. It was fun. Happy babbling, all!
{pouf!}
Morning/afternoon all Liz!!! Congrats to you you brave person!
Bye melon
brb, need coffee
Hey FM! Thank you :)
parachuting into the chog myself right now..lol
hello, Lizsark, FMitch and flosey
Part of me thinks that jumping out of an airplane would be fun. The part thinks I'd probably wet my jumpsuit (or worse).
Hi Babrab :)
Hey BR :) Liz I met u p with Ata on Tues and heard all about it. Tried to look at yr blog but it is now restricted :(
You know what ...little secret...I wasn't brave at all!!! I screamed!
*other part*
lol and Hi Judi.
Ohhh did you :) Is she ok? She had food poisoning?
I think you would want to go to the bathroom twice before you would jump judi
Isn't screaming mandatory in that situation?
I saw her before she went out for lunch.
So helpful, ruru.
My blog is defunct these days FM. Its not restricted for any reason other than I stopped writing it
Heh ruru
courage is not the absence of fear ... courage is going on despite the fear
LOL Judi - well it was in my situation!
Liz - just looked at the photo. I can almost hear you scream!! Very well done. If I had a hat on, I would take it off to you!!
Oh shame, I enjoyed reading it.
I must put some of the pics onto flickr. I have much better ones than that. You should see the one taken at the exact moment we jumped out the plane door
I have always wanted to do that liz... never had the guts.. now mrs. ru won't let me.. I have too many mouths to feed
My stomach is still lurching but I soooo want to do another one!
Ruru it is so safe really :)
Well said BR. Hi Soodle.
I don't think my hubby would let me go either. He's a huge worry wort.
wow Liz!
My husband doesnt have a leg to stand on in that department! He leads Arctic expeditions....
Hi FM!
You absolutely must post the "moment of launch" photo, Liz.
and well done to the 3 of your for earning all that money for such a good cause.
Judi I am just going to do it. Hang on for me :)
I feel so dull and ordinary. Arctic expeditions - parachute jumps? The words GET A LIFE are flashing before my eyes!
well at least the 2 x w are easy, can't say the same for the t's today.
clue for the first di 4/9 pls
There has to be a happy medium Soodle ;)

Thanks, ru. Not mine though. Was just going for a cute fall photo.
So, Soodle, what's the most extreme sport you can partake in in Ireland (herding sheep not withstanding).
ka + first letters of your name: ****ials; add a vowel for the 7
Well, Judi, theres the ancient sport of bog-snorkelling, truly an extreme sport - not for the faint-hearted!!
is there help around should you get bogged down?
Fascinating! Although, I'm sure finding pickled druids is not for everyone.
tell me moor about it soodle
Oh, for peat's sake.
Im sure bog snorkeling was one of those 'games' invented in a pub after way too many beers.
And then of course, theres Leprachaun catching, but you lot from across the Atlantic have made Leprachauns a protected species, so, its now illegal....

Well hello yourself, dakota.
Dakota has the hiccups!
O SUNS and skies and clouds of June, And flowers of June together, Ye cannot rival for one hour October's bright blue weather;
wow dakaota that's quite an entance
I have never seen someone stutter in the chog before..
It was the mention of beer that brought the brewer out.
wish I could enjoy beer.. it gives me headaches.
Perhaps Dakota is foundering in the bog. Nessie should lend a flipper.
Are you now safely ensconced in your new abode, FM?
I'm having trouble uploading to flickr but the pics should be there in a few minutes :)
Ah there we go...
Two beers or not two beers. that is the question
Oh I wish BR, the solicitors are busy earning loads of money *sigh* but hope to have an end to it all very soon.
off to make breakfast.. congrats liz glad you landed safely.
I imagine title searches are quite costly.
Bye Ruru
Thanks for the pics Liz, incredible.
I can't quite believe i did it :) But I'm so so glad I did
I can't quite believe i did it :) But I'm so so glad I did
I can't quite believe i did it :) But I'm so so glad I did
Fab Photos, Liz, but I think I'll stick to bog-snorkelling - despite the hideous puns
LoL Soo
They're up, Liz! Awesome!!!
Actually they are not too bad BR, it was the list of 38 questions the buyers solicitor put together that has taken the time. But I will get there in the end but I have quite a few more grey hairs that when I started the process.
Did your instructor do the twirly down bit that Ata's did?
You appear to be screaming and smiling at the same time. Either that or the G forces are having their way with you.
Yes. Even though I asked him not to lol He replied...well I have to try and land at least somewhere near the airfield!
ak, phone brb.
Congrats Liz ....
Hello all

hi Merk
hi Merk. Just gone to Lickety with 25 left - gave up

crossy, you live in upper Ontario, I'd expect that. Here in CT we have beautiful days in October, bright sunshine on the changing leaves
does anyone have the first di 5/16?
dont get me wrong, amazing day now, bright sun and all the tree have thier best fall colours on;)
nm, got it
It killed me to turn the heat on today. I had a goal of Nov.1
lol heat has been on 3 weeks here
:(
My friends and I were going to tough it out, but this is too, too much
first one to make a full size snowman, take a pic of it and make a babble icon out of it wins;))
hey - we had to turn ours on here in NC yesterday. bummer.
Where in NC are you, the mountains?
nope - Raleigh
the day before we were 80F. go figure
49 last nite, only 50 all day. eventually, I had to give in
No way would anyone under 80 in CT turn their heat on that warm Wolvie. We're tough old Yankees
we were at 49 Bichon, 80 the day before. I lived in Mass for quite awhile, but 49 is a bit cool
50 out? crap, if you've got any kind of insulation, your house should still be warm :)
and - my Mom is 83. she lives with me
it was - but I keep the doors and windows open
i won't let bruce start a fire until it's less than 60 INSIDE
lol
he says i'm cold-hearted and evil, though... so maybe you don't wanna go that route
no fun unless its cool, eh? lol
49 is cool to walk outside, but inside our houses are very insulated and it's okay. But, it's been in the lower 30's at night and 40's during the day. It's what you get used to I guess
my Mom complains a lot if the house gets below 63.
hah. hardly, wolvie--the fun is how he stays warm until i let him light the stove ;)
nice recover jes. ;-0
*curtseys*
;-)
If we're cold, we put on a hat. Doesn't do much for your hair, but you lose a lot of heat from your head. We also have the dog as a bed warmer.
i have too much hair to need a hat. Maybe someday.. :-)
Fireworks!
WTG merk!!

that balloon in colorado is down bu there is no sign of the boy
oh no - did it come down before the authorities got to it?
it landed in a field they were right there when it landed
they say he may have fallen out
oh no - that's what I was worried about
are they sure he was in it when it went up, and didn't just turn it loose from the ground?
maybe he was near it and panicked and ran off when it started floating away

I have never taken tamiflu, but i hear it works well.

it only shortens it by a day, drink lots of water with it ata
what a choice. :-)
i felt worse and had to stop it after 3 days ata
oh joy :) well, we'll see. I've only had 1 dose so far, due another one

gah. last one was totally a fish.
i think it should be as in spain with afternoon siesta for everyone
Perhaps when I get home I will curl up with my cat for a while.
took me MUCH too long to see it
oo I saw it in a moment jes but I was amused by the idea of looking for something in the horse
lots of studies show that napping is good for productivity
congrats jes!!
YAY, JES!
what was your last one?
i like those studies shirloc
napping is very important!
I nap at work from time to time -- yet another advantage to be boss lady!
hah! i almost just typed it in, wolvie :P
tr5/10
I don't think anyone is particularly productive during a nap. Afterwards though, watch out!
i nap at work when i'm here after 10pm
lol judi!
oh. lol
Uhg, Jes. Go home!
can't always, judi
You workaholic types make us slackers look bad.

I wondered about that wolvie --- I was confused
and my clue helped? wow - I am usually so challenged at giving good clues. :-)
makes my day. :-)
dunno did it help shirl?
is that really the last ta6? it sounds like the clue for the first ta6, or am i reading it wrong?
but I thought it was a fine clue
no idea.
they are very similar. one has an m and an r, the other doesn't have an r
one starts with slang for skin art, then friend, say

hi, nrkii! I heard that we are going to meet on Saturday!
I hope so JBV...
I have a very close friend whose dad just took a very bad turn, so I may have to leave town if things get worse
oh, so sorry to hear that, hope all goes well for him
but right now, my plan is to be at the meet-up :)
it's not good... he was supposed to have his leg amputated today, but he ended up with double pneumonia, so they couldn't do the surgery
oh, not good news
I feel so horrible for my friend and her family... they have had an awful year... her brother already passed from cancer back in March
it is very helpful to have friends you can lean on in those bad times
does sound like a terrible year
okay iam off to supper at the dining hall here -- I can't believe I have to eat supper at 6 p.m.!
bbl
see ya jmc!
quiet room
(dropping pins)
steps on a pin "who the @$%£ left this here????"
lol
hi nrkii -- I'm just being quiet. My thoughts and prayers to your friend's family. One of my in-law's is with her father at the hospital too, also with pneumonia. But he has leukemia.
hello nrkii
LOL jac

thanks ch1212
I want to get 1 more word before I list
now that I know jac is keeping company, I'm diving back in. Have to leave soon.
i don't pray nrkii, but am thinking positive thoughts, just looked back to see what ch was speaking about
am6/24 the first three letters of the word above it and short word for noise

turns out he wasn't on the balloon after all
they found hiim in the house
he was NEVER there. there was never a gondola.
oh god..
The balloon came down and he wasn't in it ..
good grief
he oculd nevere HAVE BEEN THERE
so they stop denver air traffic for a empty baloon
must go... night all.. happy babbling!
all those resources.
night nri will email
maybe the dad should of though of the ballon construction a tad more before ye raised the town
They ought to bill the emergency services to the little brother who said he was in the balloon ..
not that i beleive new reprots, but msn's said mother appeared distraught when police arrived to take the initial report
she probably has no idea what her hubby doe sin that workshop - you guys and your hobbies. :D
crossy put down his evil creation and says huh?
we keep all the leftover pieces from all that ikea furniture you ladies make us build ,and once a year we take it all and make a amazing creation;)
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hehehe
howdy min and wecome to the grid;)
hi min!
brb must go select tonight's tv dinner
lol to,cant remember the last time i bought tv dinners
well frozen entree, same thing different century ;)
Just bought tv dinners today when grocery shopping
the best t.v dinners were the real swanson ones in the metal trays with the real chicken part in it
not this formed chicken patties
t.v dinners from the B.M era(before microwaves)
we never had them growing up,. occsaionally we had a pot pie p when there was real meat in them
didn't know TVs ate dinner :P
we had lots of meat pies
Bought Banquet macaroni & cheese and spaghetti & meatballs. They were on sale today for a dollar each.
shepards pies,steak and kidney pies
LOL Colhad!
gee i hope lickety is up today *looks hopefully into chog*
Hello Colhad! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
not bad,add a veggie and yer all set
hi Mineyork, ty
57 left and have hit a big nasty wall:(
same here!
is tor still here?
Done. Happy to clue for a bit
wtg grant
took both AM and PM sessions
can you tell me what the 8 begins with?
u
no, not you, grant :P
the 8 begins with ur TO
hi all back from supper at the dining hall
ty je. i keep trying to put the ritual ending on it. doen't work
wb jmc:) what was on the menu?
u+color+ island of sard****
no it is very similar to the other ur
lemon chicken and undercooked risotto (read that as rice that was simultaneously gummy and crunche)
really sweet cooked carrots and a salad sorta
ugh
but the desserts looked so good I thought about eating them
notice that places that cook for many people always manage to make meals that are almost but not quite edible?
should have gone straight to the dessert food group
that's what i would have done. gained 10 lbs fisrt college semester
well I don't eat much sugar -- although I did eat the really really good ginger bread at lunch
I can't even tell you what lunch was
no last time I was here the food was great so this has been a double disappointment
where are you?
sigh and I am here until Sat. night
Richmond, Indiana at the Quaker Hill Conference Center
mission accomplshed?
no a bunch a meetings
wow you need to get someone to take you out to eat or invite you home for a home cooked meal
lol unfortunately the group is small enough it would be noticed
I will just think fondly of the steak I have waiting for me at home
if there is mawkish why isn't there mawk? wouldn't there have to be a mawk to be mawkish about?
well youc an get a word using a different first letter
already have that one but thanks TO
this grid is annoying
I have 62 left but since I don't have to go anywhere tonight I thought I would try to be listless for a fairly long time
well usually if i get the list i can sail thourhg most of them. not this one.
I only have 1 7 er7. :-(
that was my first weord
another is past tense of a verb, yo uwill find it
that's because it is self descriptive!
and so I did just like that ad7
same here jmc..ive been looking at 52 left for past 20 min
:p
57 now I am cruising!
:-P yourself
no crumb cake for you! ;)
thats okay because I don't eat sugar :-P
(except for that ginger bread)
if they served that ginger bread at every meal that would be all that I would eat
aHA!
got a word!!
of course I would then weigh 500 pounds
yeah crossy!
did you find one too TO?
no.that aHA was directed at your di4ary habits
no my habits are actually pretty good except for the bourbon part
almost no sugar, lots of fresh veggie and fruit, low carbs, high protein
someone say bourbon?
bourbon is all natural
lol that more than makes up for the sugars in everything else jmc lol
but lots of bourbon sherry and margaritas
tr4 crossy and that is why I am good about the sugar part -- don't want to give up bourbon
but here there is not very good food, high in carbs and no bourbon
whhiiiiinnnnnneeee
didn't you bring a flask?
mm not good, get one of delivery companys to bring in some pizza and bourbon
I meant to but I had to make a sudden visit to Mother right before i left town and left the flask on my dining room table :-(
wish i could send you my wine skin fill of single malt;)
well frat parties are no good unless you want cheap beer
me too crossy
since the only college in this town is a Quaker one I am thinking they do not have much in the way of big drinking parties
some nice rare glenfiddich, that 30 year old stuff they part with every 5 years or so
you're killing me crossy
is consumption of alcohol discouraged for quakers?
we are fairly far along the temperance direction but not absolutists
weddings receptions at the meeting house do not have alcohol
I have been at 56 for some time now
are you speaking or just attending?
im put a word in and it stayed at 57:((
it is a board meeting of an international quaker organization and I am a board member and clerk of the finance committee
so sad crossy :((
ur6 pls?
I still need 31 4s so I should be able to monkey something
u+color+two vowells
ur8 has two extra letters IN it
ty
any help with the y words other than the beautiful boat one
which I only know because I am a big fan of The Philadelphia Story
yw
ya 5: the play area behind your house with an extra vowel in third place
ty inge
ty inge
ya 4/8 ya + m*n*ane
meaning worldly
or common
of course, use it all the time myself;)
ya4/8 means common?
I could not think of another word with those 2 letters in that seqeunce
a word like that meaning common is actually quite funny
no, my clue m*n*ane means common
ahh
should have been yadeyadeyade
ya4/8 apparently means a worn out ma4
that word mean short lol
the place where you milk is an **der
the things the dictionary will think of!!!
I did try yada since we had jada a couple of days ago
yada yada yada
right, I will use it to clue next time~~
:-) glad to help refine the cluing process!
ya 4/8 means old worn-out mare, so useful a word
crossy, are you below 50 yet?
I feel like a ya4/8
please help with the di6/33 does these grid stink or am I very tired
the gird stinks
di6=dic* and jane + sharon ***e was killed by manson
apparently it is the German equivalent of a spelling test
wow thanks jmc have been monkeying but would not have gone there
the grid stinks too
it was clued for me earlier speed

Goodbye welki!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
boy, I hope the next grid has some new words, seems like I've seen a lot of these two or three times this week!
But then at least it makes it easy to find them rbud.
But then I think I've already entered them, because I just did in the one before, but I haven't. Yeah, I know, whine, whine! ;p
And then there are words I have NEVER seen before like the ka 6/30 word and ka 7/44 words I just found
ooh, sounds interesting, think I'll look for those!
hey again all!

I am completely BORED and unmotivated to finish my paper... I have massive writer's block.
oh goodie stid, i'm unmotivated to do my lesson i need to do! i can wallow with you.
thanks feather, I think I am close to finishing... but have reached an impasse with my brain. Which is, strangely enough, what we have been discussing in our theory classes all week (the learning cycle...)
Hello stidmama and featherbee! I am unmotivated to take my puppy out in 35 degree weather in October!
BRRRRR Min! I would be unmotivated too... any chance puppy can use the "loo?"
lol min. getting snow yet?
Is Piaget still a part of the discussion?
Had our first snowfall today. I drove in it on the way home today.Weather will be horrible through Sunday.
TEN to go. *assuming begging posture*
Go stidmama go!
piaget was part of the discussion when i was in college, mid to late 90s
not directly, BR. We are currently studying the new understanding of the way the brain processes and integrates new information. And talking about the history of U.S. education (1820s-1840s) and doing specific workshops in teaching techniques... my problem is integrating all these rather distinct areas into some coherent form.
Hey feather -- I'll grade your papers if you'll write mine...
not papers to grade, smart board lesson to create
oh. can we do art? I LOVE art projects. I think I could do that... (maybe)
lol, no, not that. it's my language arts lesson for the smart board...the interactive white board.
???interactive white board? This is NEW technology! LOL
yup, and very cool.
(p.s. it's language ART, right? so make textured letters... and paste them on a shared poster?)
need the first DA 5 please?
lmao stid
and the DA 6 after "information" 4/5
imagining textured letters pasted to the thousand some odd dollar smart board
*grin* I know feather, but you can't blame me for trying!

I was sure I had tried that DA 5 before! thanks again.
and I am down to 7 and determined to finish the paper before I finish the grid. *stubborn mama look* I owe it to myself. Then I can do the fun assignment after!
back soonish... *Poof*

carol, do you use Lickety's List? you wouldn't need to right them down then
I do, but I have lost my entries before, so I write them down. I'm hoping it will help me remember some of the unusual words.
congrats, Carol
you could email lickety of babble expert then you'd see them as you typed them into the grid.

hi Dan. Carol, babble expert is a combination of babble and lickety's list. you can type in your words and they automatically go onto lickety.

thanks LBD, I needed that.
what's the topic, stid?
*hans stiddie a chocolate*
ur8 is u + color + not out + same last two letters
I am stuck even on outline. USUALLY I write a draft just to get my random ideas all out there, then outline if necessary (usually not), then arrange draft to fit outline, then rewrite ad nauseum.

yep. even my freewriting is going in circles, LBD. I am sunk. It's due at 10 am tomorrow (which means I have to print it by 9:30 so I have time to get to class)
and thanks for the understanding. opinion papers are my nemesis. Give me a research-based, clear thesis any day.
what's the topic?
I told BR earlier... supposed to integrate several very disparate things we have studied this week and form a coherent "statement of everything" it's not unlike the unified theory of quantum physics... ie, we're not there yet.

who knows dcseain if that is correct
lbd what are you talking about?
Yes, stidmama, I haven't been doing a lot lately. I've been watching "Oh, Brother, where art thou" ...just love George Clooney.

hi Min
Hello Nef! We got snow today. Did we beat Minnesota
If find it quite scary to see the bug-eyed and over eager Fergie in the chog tonight. (Sorry Min!)
We had snow last week on 2 different nights, but that didn't last
Well tomorrow I will have an icon clue for that theme
It probably didn't last because it made it's way to NY
Thing about SF is that she got into debt and more or less had to get herself out of it but thinks she really knows what it is to be 'poor' and how she can help 'real poor people' get out of debt. PSHAW! (There's an old upper class English exclamation for you!)
that's probably true
No probabability about it, Nef.
Excuse the stutter, it's due to babbling. LOL
Jac, I'm really SLOW tonight and was responding to Min's statement about snow not lasting because it went to NY.
I probably shouldn't even be in the chog tonight because I am so slow.
this one is slow, argeed
Well, if you need any clues be quick and ask, 'cos it's 4.25am here and I may well zzz again soon.
okay, what a clue for that bottom row A please?
ur8 = mycology word for the rust sporeson fruit. U + scarlet + hairy-nosed dolphin Babblet.
Heck! Now which one was it?
jac, you are such a night owl!
we figured out the bottom row a this morning, which one do you need nef?
Hi harpjane! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I know Harp, hence my net nick. 'Things' have been keeping me restless lately, like new info on the saga of stepdaughter's journey in life leading her to live with us (me and her Dad).
good min, we've had snow for a week now lol
Oh dear. I already have the right one, I didn't *see* that one. I need the one on the bottom row left
let me ponder that nef, see if i can figure it out
I just do the grid randomly and don't notice where the words stem from. I guess I could work it out, having done the grid, but...
try at5/10, part of a room or the heart
am + abbr for des moines' state
harp, where do you live? In Msla? if you've had snow for a week, isn't that awful early for you?
yes it is a bit early, it's pretty much all melted now. i'm 50 miles south of missoula in Hamilton
Which Babbler is it that works it out mathematically and asks for clues that way? I'm a poet and a writer, not a mathematician.
BR had the correct word for that A; but I thank you also for that clue Harp as I didn't have it yet
Is Hamilton at a higher elevation?
yes a bit higher, not much
Oh, I remember, it's Hurshy.
last Friday I had to push HARD to open the front door because of the snodrift on the porch
I have siblings in Missoula and Helena; they are continually telling me it's warmer out there (I'm in the Twin Cities)
She reminds me of 'Brennan' from the tv series 'Bones'. as does my only son.
Life's strange, isn't it? My long-for first child, after the one I lost, turned out to be a computer personified and my daughter, who I'd also longed for and named before I met her (like I did with my son) is the total opposite; far too emotional sometimes.
Life IS strange, Jac. Good thing we can't forsee the future, isn't it?
And now I also have my 14-yr-old stedaughter to try to understand. Ain't life fun?
Nef - it sure is!
Whole new set of 'bogeymen' to understand re stepdaughter, though.
I'm trying to adjust to a mentally ill daughter-in-law myself, Jacula. Somehow we have to learn a new way of communicating with these strange new family members
di6?
IF the teachers, child protection agency. police HAD been told the latest bit of information re her Mum's b/f, he'd now be serving a custodial sentence. Thing is, her Mum DID know the info, that's what causd her to disappear into thin air for 10 days befor coming back and deciding to stay with her b/f and forsake/betray her only child.
tom, dic* and harry; + mashed po***oes
Harp - di6 - political word for a harsh regime.
thanks, or a penis tattoo?
danke, Jacula
Nef -((hugs))x
Nef, best with it. It's hard, the getting to know.
Thanks, Jac. Same to you
Harp, I like your clue!
The only penis tatto worth having, if you are to show it in full is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwl lllantysiliogogogoch
Seain, it is hard to do. Have you had to deal with that type of a situation before? It's like 2 steps forward, 3 steps back
oh, yes. His whole family was there for the surgery. He listed me as primary POC. And his family dynamic entirely unlike either side of my family. We're MUCH more stoic.
with all of us stressed, no fun
family dymanics. Yup, that is the main difference, I'd say.
and is Tom stoic or more emotional?
My family favours black humour, but some don't underrstand that.
more stoic than they are
hi everyone -- finally home again -- feel like we've been away for months!
oh, but that's on of the best kinds, jac. but you speak truth
welcome, nan
then that's a blessing, isn't it? It's also why he chose you as his POA
seain, it's the oly way to go when life looks bleak!
that, and 3 months of drilling about his issues and desires :)
agreed, jac
hi nan. Where have you been?
Hi cybernan.
we were in Europe for 6 weeks, nef, home for one week when my husband was airlifted to Victoria for a quintuple bi-pass -- just got back home today.
LOL, Seain! I think most nurses are like that. I *think* my Living Will is about 5 pages longer than anyone else's I've ever seen. I'd suspect Tom's done the same with his
is he doing alright now, Nan? How stressful
yes -- he is doing really well considering that his surgery was just 11 days ago.
Sorry to hear that Nan; but I
how are you seain?
m glad he's doing okay
What might I say to my stepdaughter, who I caught stirring ametal spoon around in the water soaking the remains of a sausage pasta meal from this evening? 'Don't ruin my non-stick pan, those big deep ones are hard to find these days!' Or maybe, 'STOP strangling my toothpaste tube! You're driving me mad!'
Jac, buy her her own tube of toothpaste. Don't sweat the small stuff.
I guess I should do a Last Will & T soon, since family life got more complicated.
i'm well, jane, thank you. I've an interview tomorrow, to top off an already stressful week. :)
Nef - I intend to! But that might not stop her driving me and her Dad (we both have different tubes) mad anyway by 'trying to share and be Part of the Family', as she perceives it.
Oh, my Seain! You should be sleeping so you will be on top of your game tomorrow
interview for....?
it's at 13, i'll be fine :)
a position of some strip with Chandler Hill Partners, who seem to be a headhunter/placement agency.
i think it's an intake interview
dr5/20?
to have a glass of H2O
thanks
Jac, sit down with her and talk to her; I was 15 when I was forced to live with my 26 y/o step mother and father. Tell her The Rules, find out what's she's used to and be sure and let her know what's permitted or not' But be sure to let her know you care
last ta6, pls?
In truth, there's Me and Her Dad (we're a couple) annd there are my 2 kids (22 and 25 years old). Youngest has left home and eldest intends to remain at home 'cos his Mother's 'a great cook'. Neither has ever accepted the fact that me and their Dad won't get back together again in the end. Neither has accepted their Dad's 'new' g/f as his wife (they marrid 6 years ago) OR as their stepmother. Neither sees eitherof her daughters as their stepsisters. What chance does my b/f's daughter have when she asks them, 'Do you see me as a sister, step-sister or just your Mum's b'f's daughhter?' I do wish she wouldn't kep asking us all things like that.
sorry, Seain, I don't have it yet
Nef - she knows I care.
But she keeps asking if I love her.
seain bye bye and 3rd note of a scale
and that is what she needs. She sounds very alone.
Like Bones' Brennan, I'm an honest person, and so I remain silent when she asks me that. I don't love easy.
ah, the japanese matt :)
thanks
er, mat
yeah, the futon like object?
<confused

Hey! I'm finally under 100 left to find! :-D
I fireworked!
I wish I did just 'love' my stepdaugher. Maybe it will come in time. I'm Taurean, it can take 10-20 years for me to 'get around' to some things.
hi all :)
i've 42 left
congrats, mrp!
I need 67
Hi MrP.
WTG, mrp! YAY!!!!
Being psychic doesn't help my situation.
done, thank you all for the T's!
it won't take akita its a dog
Well done, Harp.
Maybe I'll change my icon tomorrow. "jowls" is just so cute!
YAY, Harp!!!!! WTG!!!!!!
not when the situation's that close, it doesn't usually in my experience, jac
Probably because it's a proper noun, bekki.
dcs - thanks for your support.
Jac, why don't you like her?
a guess a KA7 is a follower of he Governor of Virginia ;)
I didn't say I don't like her, Nef, I said I don't love her.
I, not a (I accidentally wrote in dialect)
but do you like her? I'm not getting what it is that bothers you so much about her?
If I can't 'take to her', there's probably a reason why, but I don't know what that is yet.
jac, is better to be honest and forthright.
I try to be circumspect, MrP.
my mother finds my sister's elder son hard to like, mostly due to his total and complete lack of empathy
di 6, please?
I think, maybe, she is too like her mother?
lack of empathy ... yep, my dad has that with my son.
eyrie
It's not her fault that she looks and sounds like her, though.
oops
Or that she has ingrained stupid faults from her...
thanks Seain! ;-)
I just need time, as does she, to integrate into each other's psyche and lifestyle.
may that it happens, jac
AndI also need to see that, due to her being mostly ignored as a small child, she's naive in some ways and I need to bring her up to speed, if my kids aren't doing it for me.
please tell her that, Jac. She's just a child who doesn't know her face from her feet; and what she needs is some honesty and love
Neff - it's being done. Don't worry.
di + fly one: *i*e + singer, N** King Cole
good. And thank you.
there used to be a de5.16's Market on US 1 in Woodbridge, VA. Then Mr. De5.16 died. That building is now a Batteries Plus store.

It's hard sometimes when I see how quick and intelligent my own kids are and how 'slow' she seems to be. But my kid make up for my menopausal impatience at suddenly having a kid I never asked for again, by being kind a patient with her and they make me proud of them.
Well, I'm falling asleep here; so before I fall out of my chair again; I'm going toquit and go to bed
sweet dreams, nef
that makes sense, Jac.
night everyone <poof>
Night Nef.
hush! I"m hunting wabbits in the da4 LOL
Blasts into the da4 with a Brass Band. Don't you dare hunt rabbits!
If I had any pet bunnies living, we would all be staring at you in an accusatory fashion.
Or do I mean accusing? LOL
Bunbun does that to me. And he head-butts me with teeth if i offer him celery
Does he not like cerery then?
not at all i have learned in the last few days. He loves kale, though
My guinea pigs love melon - hey squeal with joy the moment it arrives and that's before it's put in front of them.
