Granny, I think all our local races are great and the times the boys do on their $40,00 bikes are not that different to the million dollar babies. Would love to see more of our local boys in the world stuff
sure would be , anike. for the time being, let's bask in the reflected glow of our beloved Casey.
do you ever go to the classics/ such a lot of fun.
We sure do. Must go and pick up my mum now so bye for now.
bye anike, enjoy what's left of your day.
Adam also races historic bikes and has won several national championships but we have never had the money to go to Island Classic - will get there one day. Adam and Robbie Phillis had some good battles in Perth last year
Gotta go this time. Bye

Hi
Hi herin
How are you?
good morning Babblers :)
Hi Nono
Hi Nono - and fine, herin. You?
Good just picked up a second hand copy of Torchwood
Book or DVD?
DVD at least half price
Saw the last TV series but haven't seen any others. Don't have a TV, but we have a "Listen Again" (or view again) facility in the UK.
I love watching Torchwood. Just reading about Dr who
That's me done. Must be off. Byeeee to all babblers and lurkers. Poof!
enjoy
good afternoon all
SPRITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
hey lady, how've you been?
Good so missed you
Good so missed you
missed my babblefriends and the game too! But now I have a wonderful computer, built for me by a friend. Should last me for years to come.
how's school going? And are you keeping your sanitiy in balance in all the stress?
hi sprite so happy to see you back!!!
hi all
Opps. Hi sorry gosh I just drifted off then
jmc :) Thanks and vice versa. how are you?
School is good not giving up. Hi JM too. I have missed you sprite
vice versa, lady. Wtg on school. Don't wanna sound mamaish but am sooo proud of how you keep on doing it.
Thank you Sprite I really need it. Failed badly on my Law of Evidence test oppse
good morning babble friends! echo the sentiments on sprite's return!
sometimes it takes a temporary failure to get something down pat. A learning experience, is all :)
TRIFEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS
morning herin me love
I have so missed seeing you about Sprite I thought I was going as you were entering and vice versa. Sorry your pc was being poo
oh juggling too many things as usual but happy to have babbleland as a refuge
hiya Trif! How's the cold and how are you?
sorry to hear about the test herin -- I am sure you will get it the next time
less sneezy today, coughing up lots of gross looking stuff. but better, on the whole. colds rarely last long, that's the blessing of them
*****slinking in sheepishly after months of being away from babble***** hi all!
It sucks alot but that is my fault need to screw the bolts in a bit tighter
one of my new mottos, jmc: the fact we CAN multitask, doesn't necessary mean we MUST or WANT TO! ;)
lol tell that to my creditors!
in even better news, looks like my dad will be transferred out of the ICU today - an absolute answer to feverent prayer!
Hi asg! good to see you again
lady, that is not a fault. It has been a serious try and now you know what more is needed. It is a successful experiment.
wonderful trif
ohhhh Trif I am so glad. *hugs*
hi AsGreen, welcome back
lol - thanks! not sure who has been praying more, us or the nurses!
lol.. creditors... silly people!
the nurses are glad to see the back of you? ;-) or it is because you are all so nice they wish you well
i agree sprite and yet I must live within their dictates
no, no, the nurses will be celebrating seeing the back of my dad - he is the epitome of the old chestnut about doctors making the worst patients.
so true, jmc, and you are wi4 enough to know it :D
and that is why we love him. the grumpy old bear! total, TOTAL marshmallow underneath!
which reminds me I turned on my computer to get a phone number to call about the phone of my hotline being screwed up so I best be getting about my business
bbl
no sin bin for you, Trif, after such good news ;)
The Melbourne theater company is selling old stuff as they are moving mega drops of Red velvet curtains
bfn, jcm, and good luck with it all
good news and good that his grumpiness paid off! lol {{{{trif}}}}
oh, the temptation, herin!
{{{{sprite}}}}
{{{{everyone}}}}}!!!!
Wonderful news Trifs on your dad
*poof*
owww lady... you cannot let th4 pass up, can you? Or must you?
oops - sorry sprite- didn't even realize
Must as I have no need for it but its all newish (one show run only ) material and I could wangle it under industry
awww hugs all round
No the curtains sold o well
*giggles* Trif, of course not, with a heart full of good news.
imagine... a medieval cape from deep red thick velvet
yes, and a head full of antihistamine....
lolll indeed, that is an intense combination, Trif
actually, I would be a bit leery of materials used in stage construction. usually over here they are coated in all sorts of flame retardant and other fixatives that are appropriate for industrial use, but I wouldn't want it near skin or breathed near too often....
argh, the voice of common sense. You are too right, Trif.
Good morning the I have 10 left and the st's are killing me
It doesn't mean it is treated with that in australia though! definitely worth asking the question, though
*whispers: hubby and son are picking up girlfriend of son, first time we get to see her... they are going to a hallowe' en evening in a theme park tonight*
hi Marc
It says red velvet i didn't care about the rest of the stuff it was the very Gone With the Wind moment
hello sprite, how was the flounder?
whoooo - meeting the girlfriend! nervous laughter all around....
the flounder? Hold on, must look up the word (stupid dutch girl moment)
geesh, marc she hasn't even met her yet!
lol, my son is very nervous, has kept her out of our sight for quite a while.
Very funny, I was not referring to the girl friend I was referring to the last time I spoke to Sprite yesterday she was making breaded flounder for dinner. I asked her if she ever used Panko then has to get off quickly and never heard.
Marc, if you mean what I think, I will let you know after we met her :)
Sprite how old is girl?
I think you have me mixed up with somebody else, Marc. I don't do the cooking here.
what is a panko? a spice blend, or a method of cooking?
lady: 14, and my son is 13.
ohh, a cougar!!!
O
good morning and hi sprite!! panko is a type of bread crumbs -
Sorry, I embarrassed all my kids with the girl and boy friends. Especially the boys who dated my girls. I automatically hated them and was not shy about telling them so. Panko is a Japenese breading. Very light and wonderful to work with.
hi JBV!
My friends son who is 16 had a girl over and was told a lot that the bedroom door had to be open on the third grump his mum turfed them into the lounge room
cute sprite, have fun w/that! :) My kiddos are 10 - and a boy has been calling my daughter "for homework help" every day this week. My son is his friend....so I'm curious! :)
that sounds so good! now I want fish for dinner....and finally I can have it, as the kiddos are away this weekend....
get ready as green, get ready....
Tri where is Norwood
awwww that is cute too, AsGreen.
I was never interested in boys till I was about 18
Sorry Norwell
norwood is about 40 minutes away from me, marc.
so, gang, I just got back from Rwanda - that village I've been involved in for the past couple of years. Amazing experience
please tell, AsG. What have you done there and and and...
Thats OK herin I was not interested in boys either
wow, asgreen - how long were you there? what was your focus? did you find it improved or worsened compared to past visits? wow!!!
wow, AsGreen you must have some great stories - and photos?? will you post them?
lol MarcF. Still not, I think, seeing you are long married?
Tri what state is Norwell in?
Mark Girls were kind of cute but the boys were meat heads
the site is www.asyv.org. My husband's company has made this village their major philanthropy, and has been encouraging employees and spouses to get involve. The village has been open for a year (3 years in the making already)....
jbv speaking of photos, where is your icon photo from?
Yes 35 years to the perfect woman who drives me nuts
...it's for orphans, and so far is focusing on teenage orphans from the 94 genocide
what a wonderful cause, AsG
massachusetts, marc. come visit - we are high up into fall, and it's getting GORGEOUS around here - all the autumn colors you could ever imagine
Trif, that is Raritan Bay, Perth Amboy NJ where I work - I try to have lunch on the waterfront whenever I can if the weather is good
Yes and as far as I am concerned Herin the boys who date my daughters who are now 28 and 30 are still meat heads
it looks lovely, jbv.
Yes Marc you have to say that
...four of us went over to focus on training the directors of the village (the head of school, head of informal education, head of health and wellness, head of adminsitration, etc.) on leadership/management styles, everything from how to write an agenda to how to empower those who work for you...
lol I am scared to see what will happen when my daughter starts dating... will have to keep hubby on a short leash...
oh, marc, I heard the funniest thing last week, but I can't remember where...let's see, how did it go? It was about boys picking girls up at the house....
Wow Green so you been and gone and everything
Trifioso - panko is Japanese breadcrumbs.
"if you drive up to my house and honk, you had better be delivering something, because you won't be picking anything up!" - something like that. I rolled!
lolll good one
I told all the boys who dated my daughters that I had a shovel, money and land.
good morning babblers!
oh, excellent marc!!!! will remember that one!!!
asgreen, what an amazing investment of time, money, and heart!
and your girls went " Daaa-aaad~"
hi Wolvie
we kept a blog too - if you are interested in our time there check out www.race4rwanda.tumblr.com - it's the most recent first, and goes back. Four trips or so have blogged so far, but ours is the most recent.
I think that quote was in John Ritter's tv show ... stolen from my Dad.
my mom always used to say "please drive carefully, you are carrying precious cargo" - I always loved that!
Sprit protect your daughter and let your husband loose. The boys want one thing and one thing only and they will do and say anything to get it, I mean anything
Thank you Greenie
remembering the day eh Marc? ;-)
it was incredible... simply incredible... these people have suffered so much in their lives and are filled with such hope. Makes you stop and appreciate all we have. Anyway....
hi sprite!
hehehe you have a good memory, Marc
AS green, in the photo with everyone doing the jazz hands, which one are you?
nice blog AsGreen
Hi WOlvie
so true, AsG! What a great thing to do.
and I come home to the neighbor boy calling my daughter! lol
Chritine are you anywhere near Culver City?
hey fern!
hold on Tri - lemme look
trif, re "precious cargo," my mom always said the same thing -- and now I say it too! :-)
hi une!
hey, wolvie!
yay une!
I'm in purple. And my husband is on the far left side of the couch, squatting
Green I was talking the other day to a friend about this site that sells goods that help animals and people and how one handbag is hand made and $250 Aus and my mum agrees that she would rather me spend my money (invisible at the moment) on something like that than a Fendii or Marc Jacobs bag ($500 - $2000 Aus)
bye everyone - good luck with the grid - see you later
I think it is nice that we have sons and daughters that get called for dates and activities. I think I would rather that than a poor kid left home alone all the time, phone never ringing. ugh.
Bye JBV!
By JBV I have to get back to my last 10 and the miserable st's
hi and bye JBV
bye jbv. enjoy perth amboy!
don't forget the ph, Marc, for those st words
shoot, pup needs a walk - gonna jump for now but will be back later, promise!
hold on - sprite, are you saying there are words that have a st, and then a ph right after?
Um I was the kid that was alone all the time
lol no Trif, thanks god there aren't.
yes, me too herin - except for the school plays, which were my saving grace in school, and I mean that sincerely. I don't know what I would have done with out the drama club
same here, lady. I am enjoying the fact my kids are socially in demand. I never was at that age.
bye AsG
nope not even those
oh, and I have a socially embarrassing question for right now
Thanks sprite the ph clue helped alot
so, I joined facebook a while back, and in great eagerness friended every babble player that would have me
this should be interesting...
shoot, Trif. Socially embarrassing is one of my strong points
trif, same here but it was band rather than drama club
yvw Marc
except now, I forget who goes with what babble name - is there a way to tag connections on facebook with nicknames or something?
it is hard trif - my name is Sue Duff - hope that helps. :-)
I can do it for my email address book, but have yet to find a way to do it in facebook
lollll Trif, I had the same thing! I put my babble name into my facebook name to solve it.
I believe fb is not outfitted with a help tool like that
that's what I did sort of - I put my babble name on my profile page
It has a little thingy under your profile you can write a line about you
It has a little thingy under your profile you can write a line about you
I am so embarrassed...
don't be, I think many people have the same problem, Trif :)
I can't bear the thought of having to write a note to all these lovely people that I probably speak to every day, asking them who they are on babble....I am such a meathead. Do'nt let your sons date me!
side note: could somebody please st4 me from entering bison? It is driving me nuts.
my son is too young for you, Trif, but feel free to send your daughters, grin.
sprite leave the bison alone!
I think i just realised that the other day about the profile not
I think i just realised that the other day about the profile not e
thanks Trif!
my daughter who is 13, seems to be stealth dating, so maybe she would enjoy going out with a 13 year old in amsterdam. Then she could TELL everyone she had a beau, but not actually have to deal with one
I am finished and have to get ready to work. Thanks for everything. Sprite now I am curious who made the breaded flounder. I know you were on the chat at the time yesterday. It is going to drive me crazy all day
go back in the archives and search for it, marc
marc, if you go to the archives, you can do a search on bread flounder. I don't remember, but you should be able to find it fast that way. (control F on a windows)
Too lazy
you can use the search box in windows to whip through the chat log for "flounder"
sn4 sprite!
Really how
bad boy. So... a crazy day ahead for you then~
Oh I found a picture of a girl I went to high school and I swear she looks like one of the girls I now go to school with who is about 19 and I want to slap
bad boy, what did I do
someone posted a photo of me and my date from the junior prom in 1981. the scary downside of FB!
lol lady, just realise she needs the fantasy. Reality might be tough for her.
I had the biggest hair on earth!
you were being lazy, Marc :P
sounds beautiful, not bad, Trif
OK but tell me how to go to the archives
hold on, sprite....I will go fetch it, and you can laugh uproariously for yourself...
marc: little button on top right, next to rankings and help buttons.
Um I have a photo of me in primary school on fb luck for me I um under a hat all you can see is a grumpy face
Hey herin I have a 34 year old single son
I have a 33 year old b.f :D thanks
roflollllllllll
Dump him my kid is better
Have enough on my plate with one b.f and 2 kats that are nuts
okay, sprite, check out my profile,it should be there. Make sure you notice all the "important details" - like how I made sure my dress, lipstick, nails, etc. all MATCH.
:D :D Gosh I missed laughing like this. Thanks guys!
The bf is nuts or the cats
both
He bought me a new PC game for my birthday and new Lilly allen cd
Well my son is nuts too. What does the bf do?
and OH YEAH those are ruffles on his white shirt, thank you very much!
He works as an Air Condition person thingy
so cool Trif- such style
thanks, dr. I know, I know, you are all so SO jealous right now! (ack)
Trif, delightful! I left a comment :)
OK hope he treats you well. Tell him you have a friend with a shovel, money and land.
Trif, I love that prom picture.
:)
and hello everyone
awww Marc, you are sweet!
and, in case you are wondering, NO.
hi Annie :)
HI Annie
Sprite I went to the archives but there was not way to search the chatterbox
Trif... as said, you are beautiful. he, on the other hand...
HI Annie
I guess I neglected to say good morning and TGIF!!!
Hi DR.Triffies I LOVE YOUR HAIR
my friend in Ireland has a brilliant child photo of herself. it
Simply click on the date and then Control + F, Marc. I have been very nice to you... I found it for you, lol. It was Periwinkle.
hi DR
Hi Herin, Sprite, Marc, Annie, Trif...
It's from maybe 1975 or so, and she is on a swing, coming down, wearing a pair of YELLOW plaid flares (bell bottoms) which inflated as she was arching down on the swing, and show her little toothpicky legs and white socks and big clunky brown lace ups. I laugh my teeth out every time I see it.
Yes you are nice and thank you so much once I find it I will let you know how made the flounder Hi DR
lol as I said, I found it for you: Periwinkle did.
awwww so sweet, Trif.
maybe that should be an icon theme - hilariously bad childhood photos?
am working on them right now, Trif, will put this one in at once!
oh, and hey - speaking of blasts from the past, guess who is coming near bo6 for a "remember when" tour? Rick Springfield!
oh nice :)
get your tickets early
as if there would be a crush for them!
brb, son and girlfriend have arrived :)
trying to decide which would be the more horrifying - the state of him, or the state of the ladies in the audience
ooooo - good luck sprite! be kind!
bye sprite see you soon
hi DR
Hi Wolvie-
Loves Spritee
Trifs I love your prom hair photo. We had a girl at my school that had longer hair similar and she played Magenta
Good morning, all. LOL. The dress is scarier than the hair, Trif.
Sprite I went through the whole chat box and couldn't find the flounder so bit I tried
Hi Judi
Hi Judi
looking good at the prom trif. :-)
I think I burned my prom pic.
shoot - vespa is not a word. I need one more v. :-)
that was my bridesmaid's dress from my sisters first wedding, and I was SO proud of it!
I found it it was Periwinkle who made the flounder. I feel so satisfied but now have to go
and I played Columbia, myself!
pretty neat trif
ve virgin wolfie...
hi all
ahhh- ty Kalia - that is exactly the one.
I think i duck and covered all of my pics. never did Deb or any of that stuff
ty Kallia
yw
just that minute found it myself
and hellp kalia
hello i mean. ;-0
DR love your Sully pic
mornin babblers :)
hi EvaN
Hi, Eva!
ty Herin- was feeling rather monsterous the other day
( if monsterous is a word)
supposed to rerelease the movie next year in 10th anniversay edition
Wow. 10 years since Monsters came out? I'm old.
I typed it in as a whim, but it's being accepted. Proper noun bo6 & 7.
hmmm - ty judi - i think. ;-0
Wow. I love that movie
HI Eva and every lovely person I missed
okay, I have to run - time to get my day on. have a lovely day or night, friends, and see you later, I hope!
I looked up bo 6 and 7...also a card game and a dance...
hi again fern
bye trif
bye, trif
My firend at work has a son who works for Disney- I hear all kinds of stuff from her
I loved Monsters. It made me feel better. Since I used to have monsters in my closet when I was a child. Still can't go to bed without closing the closet doors.
Have a great day Trif
Monsters Inc is one of my favorite movies.
same here, judi! I would "see" the closet door opening wider in the dark!
wonderful movie!
Hi Une!
hey, annie :-)
Exactly, Une! I had sliding closet doors and I swore I could hear them opening!
I could also "see" things lurking under my bed (which was on casters) -- would leap from the door to the bed so "they" couldn't grab my feet -- bed would go flying against the wall LOL!
Une, I just love all your "old" or should I say vintage pictures.
what a freakazoid!
thanks, annie :-)
i was convinced that my toys came alive at night...
ooohhh, eva, like in Twilight Zone
lol ... a different movie all together Evan : )
I would leap from my bed out into the hallway so the under-the-bed monsters wouldn't snatch my ankles.
what a pair we are, judi! LOL
im pretty sure my dad told me they did... i think he thought i would imagine them dancing and having fun, but instead, i was convinced they were gonna get me....heh
oh no, Eva!
We obviously had the same childhood, Une.
i admit, im still afraid of the dark, and i still have a WAY overactive imagination. ;)
:-D
ooh, NBT, NBS, and 100 words down! sounds like a good time for a breakfast break. :)
tome
oops! SOrry
I still think there is a cupboard monster
Eva, it freaks me out every time I take my dogs out to pee after dark and they stop stock still and stare at something I can't see!!
of course, these are the same dogs that "point" trash bags out by the street!
Une they do that I swear we used to have ghost kitties in our house. We would hear a second set of paw prints with only 1 cat in the house or the end of the bed would get heavy and kind of purr like a kitty was there
herin, AAACCKK!!
Awww. It would be lovely to have a kitty ghost, I should think.
:-D
une - do you watch ghost hunters too? ;-)
47 to go -- BBL *poof*
screech! no, wolvie . . .
I LOVE that show, Wolvie. Of course, they usually find nothing or manage to debunk most of what they do find. Good clean spooky fun.
i love it too judi - pretty neat. better than some of the others out there. ;-)
oh une - if you are lurking - you should watch it!
Good morning Gang
neat pic une
hi hego
clue for the lonely i at the top left please?
i've watched it before -- maybe I'll give it a shot again . . . ok, poofing now! byeee
I saw a preview a few days ago where they were auditioning people who wanted to be ghost hunters. Lots of teary girls and bug-eyed guys.
(and thanks re the pic)
heh heh - knew you were here...
wolvie, it's a bird
ahhhhh - ty ty annie - as in king tut times?
I think the I is a bird Wolvie
yep - and ty too kalia
Thanks Annie
king tut, it is
i still can't make out the bo 6/7 you found judi
city in Mass.
bo 6/7, a city or a way to prepare beans...
oh man. ty again annie - and ty amelu
never occurred to me to put that in - i was looking for a CEO combo
youre welcome
Yeah, beans. Although the dictionary says it's a dance and a card game too. Like who would get that clue?
bet those are the ones BR would give. ;-) or the rock group
i keep wanting obit
Forgot about the rock group. Soooo 80's.
what can i say. ;-0
And segway back to proms - the theme of our prom was "China Grove". I was so proud to have submitted that to the committee at the time.
Down to 76. I gotta split and do some real work. BBL. *POOF*
bye judi
bye judi
Bye Judi
wow - I am bogging down at 71 left
hi all, hi Wolvie :)
he liz - when are you off the rock? :-)

I am going to take a break too - got some stuff to do - bbl
TA 6/24, my last word was a bicycle built for 2.
I'm going to another slightly larger rock for four days from Monday!
whoo hoo gramma!
hi jmc!
back, hi again all
hi sprite :) long time no see
how are you?
am good, finally got my new computer. Really missed having one :) How are you?
I am fine thanks....didn't realise you had computer problems :(
I bet you did miss it!
thing went dead on me. I found I can do without pretty well, but I do miss certain games, my email and of course Word :)
hi annie I wandered off to change my icone
i could not survive without my computer
I have a laptop as well as my pc...use both a lot for research
that's what I thought, but it wasn't bad at all.
I have a pc at the office and my laptop at home
but it's the instant communications I would miss most I think
no I actually have to have my computer to do my work!
i can do my emails on my blackberry
don't have one of those and don't think I will
I run a hotline that includes emails so it has been a big boon when i am on the road
I don't need computer for work as such...but I am always researching things for my hobbies and my art
well yes it would be necessary for you, I can see that:)
and i have to research regulations -- not to mention lots of courts are requiring electronic filing
good morning, does anyone have an icon clue?
isn't pa4e a word?
i do do harp
i wondered about that jmc, coold pic
ty I included a little story too
nice story!
it was my favorite annual event
working on the themes, I cannot yet access my email but I can put up some themes for this weekend and next week
I am glad to hear that sprite
icon clue here
sprite! How lovely to see you. glad that internet is working at least somewhat again
hi sprite
hi seain! And hi harpjane. Internet was ok, seain, it was the computer that didn't work. Now I need to find my internet codes back, lol, for email.
ah! okay. either way, nice to see you here again. Good luck with the account access.
harp I so do not get your icon clue!
oh good one, harpjane
I have all of my internet access stuff in my contact for myself so it i end up on a strange computer i can still access everything -- but it is coded so it says "regular log in cat9" of "homeaaa" and that tells me what the password is without other people knowing it
Good Morning

something about peer pressure and fandango *lol*
I'd say one wasn't a virgin anymore...
hehehe
ok, themes are updated.
ty sprite
hi Christa
good morning Sprite, welcome back, missed you
hi flosey, vice versa! It's great to be back online.

amen to that, Annie! But should be ok now, new puter and no more laptop
was that virgin wearing a polka bikini? i'm confused
a virgin drug dealer that is wearing a bikini?
lol now that's a new one
errrrr well she looks good in it...
welki, dont see it either
no po6 here yet either
it's a compound word....does that help?
I wonder if my pharacist has a bikini?
but he would look terrible in spandex!

ha! thanks annie!
hi dick
thanks Annie and dick. Compounds. They always do me in.
hi annie
fireworks here ... anyone need a clue before i head to the *gag* store?
not ready to ask for clues yet, thanks!
I am done. Whew
hahaha .. know how much i hate shopping? i went to the mall website, looked a map of the mall and decided to go only to the stores that were in close proximity to each other
sounds like smth I could do
i really hate it. big waste of time (hahaha, am i babbling?) ... wish i could just call them up and tell them what i want. tried that yesterday ... 'can you tell me the difference between the inventory you have at this location compared to the other?" ...thinking i could just go to the best one. no way would they share information. high end store, must be trade secrets LOLOL
I am off to see The Wizard, bye dear babblers
have a great day, annie
and congrats, annie
okay ... i'm off to break the bank. later, babblers
thanks, dc and say hi to Tom
enjoy as much as you can, welki
will do when he awakes
bye Annie
bye welki
huh. it took the capital of Massachusetts.
apparently due to having a violet named after it.
yes, isn't it cool :D
I thought it was a card game and a dance. Hello, all.
yes but those are capitalised and hence not the babble meaning. Hi Vic
i know of neither, but both are as likely, vi :) hello
and yes, sprite, once i overcame my surprise
funny that after all these years with ENABLE it can still surprise me. :)
According to the question mark those are both lower case. But I never heard of either of them before, either.
being surprised is great too
ah, i used define function in Google, instead of ?, as i find dictionary.com almost as dubious as ENABLE
there's a card game today?
whist-like, apparently, harpjane.
i vote for euchre
what's the one that takes two decks? canasta?
My plain-old actual book dictionary lists Bo6 baked beans, brown bread, bull terrier, cream pie, fern, ivy, lettuce, Massacr, rocker, and Tea Party, all uppoer case. But no violets, card games OR dances! lol
Babble: where we're all lost in obscurity.
I don't use the q marks, I like infoplease
hi Judi, obscurity being another nice babble word!
the violet dates to 1987 - http://tinyurl.com/yzyuqeu
yay for obscurity! Hi, Judi
I like to think of it not so much as being lost in obscurity as simply wandering in obscurity without a defined destination.
and of course also the real book dictionaries... I have lots of those
Divagations in Obscurity, if you will...
topscurity, of course
Then, after you go nuts, you'd be a victim of obsquirrelity.
i love book dictionaries and thesauri
I think in my case it would be obesquirrelity
I suppose there are really two issues with the definitions, though. One is what the word means, and the other is what Enable thinks the word means.
third is what we all agree it should mean
And no doubt that's the most important one of all! As Humpty Dumpty says, It's a matter of who's in charge, us or the words.
:D
po 6 clue please
po6 - bloke with a cooking vessel
Clue for the first sp5?
dude! great clue, ty
Ah, I was going the the wrong third letter. ty so much
Oops, yes, I can make correct sentences, but obviously not always.
My first sp5 - place for a facial plus greeting
compounds. I want them stricken from enable.
that's my first too
Now now, sprite. Let us not be vengeful.
Got it. Ty.
*mumbles something about being able to spell vengeful gives the right to be vengeful*
Oh dear. She's muttering again. Must be the obsquirrelty.
obesesquirreality even
3 more words then I get breakfast
Wow, you are a stern taskmaster, harpjane!
Vengeglorious?
:D
That's a nice word, Judi.
no i'm just addicted to babble more than i want to admit....
Glad you like it. 2nd E optional.
Vengglorious? No, I think that second e is necessary. =)
Afternoon all, how fares the grid this Friday?
Venglorious... nah. Vengeglorious it is
FM!!!!! =D
hi FM :)
Sprite!!!!!!!!!!
How good to see you :) are you well and so glad to see you back, I read it was PC probs but hello and hello and I;ll shut up now :)
Oh fine, she just ignores my greeting. *sniff snuffle*
(((Vi)))
Hah. Too little too late. =P
ta 6,24 clue please
so good to see you too! Yeah, laptop died on me, graphics card went dead. Now on new puter and happy :)
hi, FM
I wasn't ignoring yu dear, I am just a bit slow typing, honest!
a ta6 bicycle for two
ta6/24 - bicycle built for 2
ah, ty
Fireworks!
Okay, okay. (((FM)))
He dc too and congrats Judi.
Yay for Judi!
my daughter is riding a monocycle atm. I call it half a bike.
Is a monocycle different from a unicycle?
Or is it, for example, like a bicycle that you can wear in one eye?
no, probably the only difference is that unicycle is the correct word and monocycle a pathetic attempt of a dutch girl to get the meaning across
lol!
lol! =)
;)
the fact that she is riding one has to be applauded though!
Indeed!
Fireworks ... my clue for the day before I leave ... there are a ton of words that end in 'al'.
I was wondering what a monocycle might be. Thought perhaps it was some euro trend that we yanks hadn't heard about yet.
oh yes! And she is GOOD!
gratz Merk
Congrats to Merk
TOG-boy home sick today. *sigh* Must go fix him some lunch so I'm in and out.
Yay for Merk!
ty, all, see you tomorrow
TTFN then Vi and hope TOG is back to glory soon :)
congrats and be well, merk
unicycle, not monocycle
wish him well!
I'm out. See you kids sometime tomorrow!
bye Judi
have fun, judi
I will be back shortly too - having a crap food day and am indulging in a store bought pitza.
enjoy immensely, FM
Thanks for the wishes, all. (He's sitting here reading the chat and trying to find me words while I make a sandwich.)
Yum, pizza!
Pizza is a happy.
OK so I spelt it wrong and I am going to pile on a load of calories for eating it but I dont care!!!! *grin*
*offers FM some ice cream to have with or after her pizza*
LO you devil you - what flavour just out of interest?
*slips in some cookies to go with the ice cream*
perfect! i'm having four front teeth extracted the day before Halloween! What a lovely costume I will have!
Southern Chocolate - imagine the creamiest choc milkshake ever, but frozen
(speaking of ice cream....)
aw harpjane :( Reminds me of a silly RnR Xmas song... "All I want for Xmas is my two front teeth..."
you can wear cowboy clothes and straw in your hair
yup it's my new theme song
' jee oh jee, how happy I would be, if I could only wiffle..."
Oh sprite I was going to type that too! harp - I wish you well!
;) FM... sharing a brainwave, we two
i hope the extrations go well for you, jane
I hope it goes well, harpjane, and with very little pain
dc - I can honestly say I have never had a milkshake in any form so I feel I am missing a taste experience.
really? that is a deprivation FM
Get thee to a creamery!
wow. that's impressive to go so long w/out one.
anyway must return to the kitchen and my 'fast' food. yes really jmc and lol car.
FM, you barbarian!
I am actually sort of excited about it since these particular teeth have been bothering me since 1974! It's been sort of a waiting game to see when they would finally wear out. But being toothless on Haloween, now THAT"s like a dream come true!
LOL jane
you'll get a bridge, i'm guessing?
jane you rock!
and i won't have to buy any of that cheapo fake blood either!
yah, either a bridge or implants. i think it depends on how much my dentist needs for his new boat....
implants are preferred
he'll get a nicer boat that way so that's what he's thinking. It depends on whether I have any decent bone left....
yeah. i need to get 2 molars extracted and a bone graft for my lower left rear. The bone is solid, but partially atrophied due to my ignoring the problem for WAY too long
I'm more worried about the bone graft idea than anything else, my bil had a hard time with his
bone grafts are nasty. Will think of you both.
ty, sprite
huh. i'd never seen that spelling variant of 2nd sw4 before
now if I only knew if my second was your second, grin
there are only 2 sw4 :)
ok! That one reminds of CSI. For DNA.
yep. usually with an A
ah ok. See, sometimes it is an advantage to know little :)
just in to change icon, have been having trouble getting the pics accepted
hi flosey
hi jane,
aw that is so sweet, flosey! thank you :D
does anyone see anything other than my little sweetie
i do flosey
I do, I see a computer
ok, thanks sprite and DC, I'm still seeing William
you know lots, sprite. Here, we see that word in the store - cotton sw5 - A variant
off now, have to do some typing for hubby before I go out for 11: am bridge/lunch
i had to refresh to see the new one, flosey, FYI
bye flosey, enjoy! *hug*
I refreshed a couple of times, turned right off and back on twice, just a strange little quirk I have acquired
njoy, flosey
tks, be back for flip]
can't believe the words I am finding last. I have been pretty blind.
***hi....popping on for a bit***
hi AsG, welcome back
hi all...
tx - lol - from this am? or from my many months away! :)
hey nrkii :)
no, from earlier today :)
saw your note about implants DC... I've put mine off for over 8 years since having two molars extracted... no bone atrophy yet, but I'm really pressing my luck
I was planning to get implants this year, then ended up out of work, so letting it slide more....
I think I have bone atrophy even though I have teeth still. I should post a picture lol!
5 forgotten plurals! Am I out of training or what :(
I'm hoping to get it done next tax year, then I can use my flexible spending medical account. Trouble is, if it doesn't happen, I would be looking for something else to use my medical money on. How many pairs of eyeglasses can one person buy?
Good afternoon all........
94 in, 93 left
hi caitlyn!
i got all my dental stuff except the extration/bone graft done before i lost my job
18 to go here
21 left

Hi sprite and bye sprite congrats !
hi, caitlyn and asgreen
Hi seain how are you?
hi dc, it's been ages, no?
I"m trying to figure out if you lose your job in the middle of the year, can you still access the flexible spending stuff. I get different answers each time I ask
I disapparated for awhile - lol
jane, i can easily, after insrance, spend 12-1400 on two pair of bifocals
you are well, asgreen?
things are good, thank you, caitlyn. how are you?
I'm doing great - just got back from a trip to Rwanda - I was working at the village I've been supporting for the past couple of years. An incredible experience.
and you dc?
Good thanks
oh, wonderful, asgreen :)
Thats great AsGreen well done
yeah me too, but I'm thinking of putting in $5000+, Seain
unemployed, but well
tx. I posted the link to the site and to our blog from when we were there... I'll post it again
www.asyv.org and www.race4rwanda.tumblr.com - a little self serving, I know, but it's worth looking at!
I suppose I could get lasix surgery if it came right down to it, or go to mexico for something that wouldn't be covered by my insurance.
ah, dc, sometimes unemployment gives you a chance to take a deep breath and reevaluate.
I will certainly check it out AsGreen ,Im full of admiration
harp, as long as you have a backup plan, you should be good
harp, I think you have the full calendar year to access it regardless... I think....
thanks caitlyn
that's what i think too, I"m going to have my tax guy look at it to be sure
stats for bottom left e?
you definitely have all year... in fact most plans let you turn in receipts for an extra 90 days, but the services have to have been done within the year

1st st6.21, pls?
ty got that po word
go, mkg!
haven't seen that sp5.14 in quite some time, the Turkish cavalryman who is everyone's daily vocabulary, lol
LOL
st6/21 builds on the 5 above it
i see not how, kallia
to the first 4 letters add gore
if that is the first one of course!
ah, closer to the st5 under it. ty
the first st6.21 is an ear bone, I think; use the word for the metal you use to hold papers together, lose the last consonant
ta 6 24 plz.
ok does that mean I have another st6 to find?
and then pl it
yes, there are 2
mr gore is 2nd one
1st one is a stand-alone
thank you got the first one thanks Aloy
mkg....daisy daisy give me your answer do.....
do you know that song? the answer is in there :)
well sort of
ta 6.24: like when trucks are in a row , hooked next to each other.. or .. start with what happens to your skin in the sun and end with *** bones, ***bones (song)
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ty got it.
it wont be a stylish marriage, I cant afford a carriage, but you'd look sweet upon the seat of a .......made for two
was trying to be cryptic :)
i'm half crazy, all for the love of you... there won't be a fancy marriage, there won't be a horse and carriage....
(Joining in chorus) Day-Zee, Day-Zee, give me your answer, do!!
well, the ps4 subtly got my attention
done. whew. good grid. ty for clues guyes.

it was too much trouble to go buy another loaf of bread
*kicks jmc back outta the chog*
come back with more food!
roast beef, swiss and lettuce from my garden
Wow. Not even a loaves and fishes moment. Just loaves!
ouch!
a blackberry soda and a club soda
are you still getting lettuce? not too late yet?
over my nose is nearly full white - that part i pluck, and have for years, to avoid monobrow
sounds lovely, jmc
unibrow
kje, we plant lettuce early or late, as it's very, very hot here in summer.
i will get lettuce until a freeze and sometimes after that
i think one of my nephews who is 4 already has a unibrow - LOL
lettuce is a winter crop in Texas
oh wow, cool
Strong, defined eyebrows are a sign of good character!
well, it freezes here
yes... key word there being eyebrowS soodle
huh. that's a new one on me, soodle
lol!
well, your sandwich beats my lunch, jmc... I am eating popcorn
yikes kje!
Or maybe my mother made that up, to stop me (unsucessfully) plucking mine!
Hello Babblers. How is everyone? How is this grid?
hi scrabs
thankfully I love popcorn, and it is easy to pack
hi scrab - just started, but the 1st 8 were a breeze ; )
lots of plural three letter words
I must pluck to prevent unibrow, and I have grey eyebrow hairs in the middle, above nasal bridge.
my eyebrows are practically invisable
wow, jmc... you are right - almost entirely 4 and 5 letter words
my son says he can always tell when something is up because I "put my eyebrows on"
are there any wo words?
Mine are thick and dark
one jm
i don't think i would survive long on a popcorn lunch diet
i had ice cream for lunch
wo4
dc is my hero
i lost weight back when i ate popcorn for lunch
i had ice cream and wine for supper the other night
ty joanne
i was also walking 3 miles each way to work, which helped, too
yvw
Yummy, Seain! Which flavor?
i was just sulking and had no exercise that day -- but went to the gym the next day
Breyer's Triple Chocolate
ice cream and wine is a happy supper
Heaven, Seain!
trying to imagine the combo - not so sure
I am so sleepy now, considering a nap
ugh
Hi Ruru
LOL! and there is the official opinion
hi scrabby
ruru, not recommending it all the time, and one must choose the wine carefully
i have found 2 anatomical words so far: po4, st6

Hi asg + peri
yayayay kallia
huzzah for kallia! well done!
thanks
any clues needed?
btw, who is the really nice lady over in Japan? Ardilla, maybe? has she been around lately?
Trif, new job is heaven, well almost. Co-workers are kind, supportive, competent and with stable egos--total contrast to prior job setting. But we are crazy busy with H1N1 disease + associated frenzy/anxiety
Hi Kallia
congrats, kallia
i've not seen ardilla in a while
do you have vaccines available for the h1n1 scrabbler?
hi scran
Where did you go, asg?
scran????scrab
we received our 1st batch of H1N1 vaccines on Tuesday
sorry, on a call
great news re the new job, scrabbs@
she is on the phone scrab
Heyas kids ..
scrabbler, asgreen went to rwanda
ok no clues needed so going to go start dinner
TORGONE! I am never leaving
next time all bye
hi bgh
Locally I think the vast majority, if not all, school kids have been infected or exposed to H1N1 virus, so the vaccine is too late for this group
Rwanda? Whoa!
*sitting in pb for earlier conversation with sprite about computers*
Hi Une = Torgone
lol
hmmm. i wonder if I should try to get my kids vaccinated? I should think it would be hard to find the vaccine at this point
www.asyv.org http://race4rwanda.tumblr.com - our blog from while we were there
JM, what did you do?
great blog - highly recommend
hi, une and torg
well we were talking about computers so discussed my la6 at some length!
hey seain ;-)
hm. ice cream not what my body wanted. sigh. so will need to make food. weee.
call is wrapping up...
too bad dcseain
the trick with an ice cream wine supper is to eat the ice cream and then drink the wine
lovely photo, une
seain, is Tom still making good progress?
quite so, une
tx, seain -- I love it too :-)
so which photo is you asg?
good to hear!
she's in the purple blouse
I'm in purple in the group photos
Nice site, A!
green, you've captivated us all!!
aww, thanks Une!
great admiration for what you and hubby are doing
thanks again - seriously
tx Scrabb!
At my previous practice I cared for a family from the Rwanda/Burundi area. The father escaped 9 yrs ago, mother 7, with now 2 little kids. They finally felt it was safe to visit remaining family this past spring. Their eyes reveal sadness yet they smile and express such gratitude.
incredible inner strength
Scrabs, it's amazing - the HOPE they convey. So different than Americans recovering from tragedy (sweeping generalization (sp?) ....)
I have gotten a splash of life in Rwanda/Burundi as the Quaker Peace Maker teams come back and forth -- imagine sitting down with your torturer!
I know jmc, unreal right?
or your family's killers
wow, serioulsy jmc? that sounds amazing. have you gotten to sit in on some of the sessions?
trif, PBS had a documentary about it recently -- hard to imagine
actually, une (imagine this next sentence in the wriest tone you can imagine) I have now been to several four-way lawyer meetings, so I think maybe I can imagine it....
Yes, asg, such gratitude for being alive, for having a job, for having a place to live.
trif LOL!! Sorry, you CAN imagine!
:) une
some of the stories are really chilling
there was a woman in the PBS documentary who sat down and talked with her nextdoor neighbor who had killed her family . . .
man, I am going to have to search for this documentary. I want to see how they coped
was the neighbor sorry? was the woman able to process the neighbor's feelings? it is almost beyond the scope to imagine such a metting
meeting
a f(F)riend of mine just came back after spending some time there with the story of the woman who carried her husbands head around since she had married outside of her tribe and they came and cut his head off in front of here and her children
the neighbor was mostly 'embarassed" -- she was able to forgive him -- can't imagine how
there is a whole program of reconciliation where this is happening a bit at a time
oh, jmc.....there are no words, are there?
there is a lot of back work done with both sides long before they meet
It's a shame to say it, but these poor souls are so used to tragedy and torture... they have never known peace.
It's a shame to say it, but these poor souls are so used to tragedy and torture... they have never known peace.
Hi mom2
http://www.aglionline.org/
Hi Scrabbs... and all the rest!
hi mom
the only even remotely close knowledge I have in such matters comes via a friend who adopted two children from India, one who was in an orphange since infancy, and then, a few years later, another girl who had lived on the street for a while.
My computer is sooooo slow... ugh!
asgreen I think you are doing wonderful work! thank you.
I was on the board of aglion for a short while but its meetings always conflicted with my organizations board meetings so i quit
the first girl acclimated to the family without a hiccup, but the second girl was a whole different matter. She just could not understand that she was safe now - she took food out of the fridge and kept it in her shoes, hidden under beds, beat up the older girl for toys, even though there was plenty for both, etc. Poor little mite, she had just no concept of peace. Took YEARS of very loving work
ok, I'm off my call. oh, thanks jmc - that's nice to hear. It's incredibly rewarding work too - they really soaked up any help we could offer them (in terms of training, etc.)
thanks so much for sharing the blog, asgreen!
and so which smiling woman in the photos are you asgreen? the color of shirt is sufficient
I'm glad you all are so interested in reading it Tri. Of course, at the asyv.org site there are ways to help/donate etc. I won't know either way (I'm just a volunteer), so no pressure. Just letting you guys know about it
I'm in purple
and, btw, that blog has pages and pages of prior teams from my husband's company of people who have gone - so you can trace the progression fom over the past year. This is his company's (Liquidnet - an investment bank of sorts) primary philanthropy
uh oh, I silenced the group! :)
well, mid-afteroon grid time is quieter than other times
you didn't silence moi -- I was just off reading the blog!
nah, they are all just enchanted by that amazing blog!
whereas I sit here trying to find words from letters I have already greyed....sigh

I am missing, amongst other things, 2 a's - i have al 5, al 4, an 4, ap 4x2, and at 4. what type am i missing please?
I am back after typing a letter. I also called the office and, as I am the on call doc, I have to go in to see overflow appts if needed, and it is needed! We are swamped with sick kids!
tic tic tic - count down for green. ;-0
hey scrabs!
an5.12 & another at4
an5/12
poor scrabs
ty lynxx
hi Scrabs and bye
I am a bit miffed actually as it is my day off, but I am on call and must fulfill my on call responsibilities.
you leaving lynxx?
11 to go, all s words
Just saying goodbye to Scrabs
oh - lol - sorry
I have to start in the office at 4:30--just under 2 hrs from now.
Scrabbs, are you leaving - was going to ask your opinion about the h1n1 vaccine. I'm avoiding it for me and the fam.....thoguths?
Go asg go!
jeez - those a's shouldn't have taken me this long. wowsa
Why avoid it? Seaonal flu vaccine is new every year--3 strains every year, changing year to year, and H1N1 disease appeared on scene AFTER decision was set for '09-'10 seasonal vaccine, thus a second flu vaccine, with just H1N1 strain is needed. Same manufacturers. nothing "new" about it at all. It's just that 4 strains are being covered this year.
aacckk, finally tore myself away from Bananagrams on Facebook!
Bananagrams???
I will check that out, Une.
banana grams? is this another game?
hi une. ;-)
hi Une
any chance to boost one's immune system (army) is a good idea.
very addictive! like Scrabble and others of its ilk :-)
hey, lynxxx and wolvie :-)
oh no. I just started lex. lol
any reason to have flu jab / swine jab after just having flu? *adds to quick fire questions*!
Does that make sense, asg?
hmmm, I'm not a big believer in the flu shot as it is. We got them this year as a precautionary prior to our travel, but overall, I'd prefer not to get 'em. And then I read something about these 28 pregnant women who died after getting the h1n1....
You are probably immune to H1N1 noew, Ata.
I also heard that the actual h1n1 virus really isn't so bad if you do catch it. I don't know....
I thought that would be the case. TY!
it can be, ASG
8 to go, btw, all st words
My perspective has changed over the last several yrs and I do now get my flu vaccine every year. Flu is typically not life-threatening but it predisposes one to secondary bacterial complications that can be fatal.
don't know whether it was flu or swine flu, but I was about 0.0005% away from phoning an ambulance cos I couldn't breathe - but I have asthma on top of flu
Most people with H1N1 disease have mild-moderate symptoms and it is milder than what is seen with seasonal flu.
oh wow ata - glad you recovered without intervention, but that must have been scary
Asthm placed you at risk, Ata.
yes ... for one night I was really quite worried!
Again, I think that an opportunity to build up one's army against the bad guys is a very good thing.
glad you are ok Ata; and still not sure Scrabbs! :)
www.cdc.gov or www.who.int = top references
I actually to start with thought I had food poisoning - I spent all night on the loo dying, with an asthma attack on top of that. Then just didn't get better, and started all the classic symptoms of flu. Took me about 7 days to feel any better, even with tamiflu
I think the sn5/6/7 are made up words, lol
and now, nerly 2 weeks later I still feel pretty much like crap
i need one o - i have ob 4 - what is the other?
(just saying randomly what flu here was like!)
It is a gamble, asg. The way I see it is I would not regret getting the seasonal/H1N1 vaccines but I could regret NOT getting them.
really ata? still feeling unwell? Maybe you should go round to a doc just for a check
Glad you are nearly OK Ata, you sound like an advertisement for getting the shot.
I was feeling better! then today I just started shivering and temperature again. Gah!!
fireworks for me...yay! fun to be back in babbleland!
ty for those asg - as soon as you posted that - i remembered those words
WTG AsG
yahoo asg!!
Wolvie - ow4.8
doc for you ata!!
Congrats AsGreen
Ata, you might have secondary pneumonia--get yourself to a doc!
I know scrabbs, usually I'm very logical about this sort of thing, but for some reason, every year, I get more philosophical and "gut feeling"-ish about the flu shot...lol (no pun intended)
ty lynxx
be told Ata!
the o's are oa4, oa4, ob4, ow4
Hype from emotional/non-scientific anti-vaccine folks allows emotions to cloud reason.
ooooh, and look at the time - time to go meet the kiddos! See you guys later. Great catching up w/y'all - and thanks for letting me share my adventures w/you!
bye AsG
Bye asg, ty for O clues
I know Scrabb - but clouded it is! lol
seeya AsG
bye! ****poof***
What are the sneaky sn words? I have sn4 x2
sn first vowel, **en 2 consonsonants, then add another vowel for the 6, THen plural for the 7. :-)
luckily I have a blood test booked on monday, so will ask nurse then and she'll get me an appt if necessary :)
very good ata - smart
got too much to do to have pneumonia! that hurts!
could be the "walking" kind - just (ahem) bogs you down
bloody bogs lol
couldn't resist
TY, wolvie!
Ata, if you get worse in the next 1-2 days promise me you will get evaluated before Monday!
good scrabs - i was afraid it would not make sense, lol
oh I will, don't worry!
cool beans ata
I'm very very alert with anything to do with lungs. Comes from yesras of asthma hospitalisation!
I bet you are - asthma, from a nonsufferers's prospective, is frightening enough. From you view, it can only be worse
I dont' really have problems, I'm very lucky. I don't have exercise-related asthma, just pollution-related problems. So as long as the air is clear, I'm fine. Every harvest season - nightmare!
well - that is something at least. :-)
yay! g's done
Ok, I am going to shower and get ready for on call office work starting in 90 minutes.
oh yes, could be amillion times worse!
bye scrabs - nice seeing you
good grief, portable computer is in the grid.
ahh, i love having long, late lunches. especially when the parents pay. :)
hi EvaN
hi Eva
BBL
bye lynxx
Ata when would I need to decide about Napal?
hi Katie
next yearish :)
not for a good while, the only advantage of signing up sooner is more time to get sponsorshop
*ship!!
Ok so it's you and Liz signed up so far?
I haven't signed up yet, but I'm definitely going to
Liz has signed up
ok so I have time to decide if I could raise so much
oh yes, loads of time
were all having angst about raising the money!
how much do you have to raise?
£3000 each lol
£3000
whoa. a princely sum
but a year and a half to do it in!
ah. well - that certainly helps. This is like the jump, yes? Can US residents donate?
oh yes, everyone can :D
cool - i signed up as a fan on liz's site - i will check it out
or link on facebook i should say
but sponsor me not LIz :P LMAO
maybe both - how will that be?
excuse me!!!!!!!! I brought the subject up lol
;-0
perfect :)
careful Wolvie this could be expensive
and Katie!!
no no - you've got a year, and this poor yank has to split amongst you guys. :-)
do you sponsor a trek of so many miles or something?
I just did a bike ride for ms here in the states not long ago
its a week trek in Nepal. eeee!
go you Wolvie! MS is a very important thing
wow. a week trek
yes - my sister has it, so I am very familiar with it
my best friend hasit
we do the diabetes walk too - and cancer. All great causes
my sister is lucky - she has the remission type - she takes a daily injection to help her out - she does quite well.
wonderful! you're amazing :)
interferon or the copaxone?
here in the states, if she should lose her job, she could not be insured. this stuff costs much moola too
she does copaxone -
does it ever!
we were just talking about ms at work today one of our work partners has it and it is the aggressive type so he has had to give up work at 45. It's so sad he has 4 children
best friend too ... though she's thinking of changing cos she's getting weirdo side effects now
the interferon gave her incredible emotional swings. She has been on the copax for around 18 years
that's awful :(
things like this does prove the value of the NHS
18 years!!!!!!
wow!!
Pat is very stable on the copax - in fact, her last mri showed improvement
ayla's been on it for a few years now. but she's started to get huge hot flushes and dizziness after injection
she was diagnosed in 88 - one year or so on interferon/betaseron, then copax
wow. Pat had those problems with the other. There is a new med out now too I think. I will have to ask Pat tonite - we go out for a ladies drink nite on fridays. :-)
did I tell you we have a sponsor child in Haiti now?
oh wonderful! if you could ....
no!!!
yes katie - i wish we had some form of basic NHS
no! how cool.
I will ata - i'll facebook you on it. :-)
thank you! thank you!
brb quickly desperate for snacks. pah. bad bad me. don't care!
okay - i have 3 left and just listed. clue for the po 6 please?
the week I got the promotion I went to church and there was info on children so we decided to spread the good fortune, i'm very excited about it
your welcome ata - Pat is part of some international study group so she gets info up to date
I will have to look into that katie - is it thru your church then?
po6 - bloke with a cooking vessel
ty vic! and hello
it's through an organisation called compassion which is a Christian organisation but helps all faiths
Hello, all!
i got the computer, you would think i would see that combo. lol
okay katie - i will look for it
we both (sis and I ) did that a couple of years ago - then got afraid of how our monies were actually being spent - heard all kinds of bad things.. been looking for a reliable org
back, that was quick :) take that weightwatchers
lol ata
lol ata
fireworks
Wolvie we had exactly the same experience that's why I was so pleased to find compassion. They also let you send gifts but they are cash and limited which I think is a good thing
can you believe it? my last word was the eo 4. LOL
it is expensive though as it costs £21 per month
why Haiti?
good to know katie
so roughly 42 bucks a mo***? not bad really.
hey mom - watching this?
lol - thanks for the mo5
VIIIII!!!!III!!!I!!!1111!!!
sure vic. ;-)
you could chose a country and Olden was 3 1/2 which I thought was a good age and Haiti is next to the dominican republic which we have been to but is much poorer with less opportunity for the children
any clues before i head out for the day?
I wondered if it had to do with the D. R.
Ataaaaaaaa!
46 of them please :0
no thanks wolvie you have a good day :-)
;-0 ata
I'm not even trying to finish today
okay peeps - see everyone tomorrow - or on facebook in a bit. :-) TTFN
Bye, Wolvie!
i am determined to be able to fertilize crops, lol *poof*
lol me too!
now I'm even more hungry *sigh*
I haven't had dinner yet, must get something soon
Poor Ata.
*hands ata a cheese sandwich*
poor diet!
I find if I drink a lot of coffee water and club soda I am not so hungry
You're watching you're weight, right? So as long as you keep watching, it doesn't matter what it does?
I'm off to get some food, see you all later
*your. (Sigh.)
Bye, Katie!
I'm normally fine, just today I'm really hungry!
bye kitty!
have a banana
bye katie

We'll have friends over tomorrow, so we'll be making the chocolate truffle pie in my profile. Mmmmmmmm...
mainly it sits on my floppy belly
yum!!
you should have seen this banana cake creation. OMG.
have never been fond of banana cake
No wonder you were arguing against it, jacq! the truth comes out!
"banana cake with guinness ice cream and salty walnuts"
it looked - well- good enough to eat!
LOL ok ok ok i am anti-banana cake i confess
Guinness ice cream? Yikes - all of a sudden I'm thinking "Why eat those disgusting empty calories."
aha! the truth comes out :)
yeah, just like Vi said *oops*
LOL Vi
I could eat anything remotely associated with banoffee
;)
banoffe?
??????????
banana and toffee sauce mmmmmmmmm
that sounds tasty if mightily sweet!
bannoffe is the BEST
its just the best
it does, can't eat more than 3 tarts in a sitting
So it's pretty good then?
omg bliss
it is heaven in a pastry case
my blood sugar is spiking just reading teh chog!
absolutely
Ive been on a mission to convert the US babblers to bannoffee for years
ata have to seen the toffee condensed milk?
yes! not tried it though
have you?
we make cullen skink and we use unsweetened condensed milk in it, and my daughter made her fiorst ever pot of it and she bought the toffee milk by mistake, the soup was awful lol
looooooooooool I bet!!!
that's like my husband buying vegetable Philadelphia for a cheesecake
i haven't tried the stuff on a desert yet, but was thinking about making millionaires shortbread this weekend just to try it
lol my daughter did that too phili and garlic LOL
oooo I think you should. for scientic study, of course
of course, i will let you know how it went
i think the banoffee is too sweet for my occasional lapses on the no sugar in my diet
probably jmc, it is really really sweet
if you make it with a very plain base, not sugary, it kinda balances out
:-)
you could try it with a cheesecake base
*dies* from have I got news for you: a brothel in Holland is offering a 5 euro discount for clients who arrive on a bicycle. to get the discount they have to present their helmet at the desk *sporfles*
*tires of all this nonsense about toffee and dives into a huge vat of dark chocolate*
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
hmmm a green brothel
their helmet huh????
lol, Ata. WHy shouldn't Johns be environmentally conscious, too?
LOLOLOLOLOLOL
not that helmet! *looks shocked*
but it takes years for their condoms to biodegrade
*laughs madly*
lol jmc
A courtesy from one a$$ peddler to another?
are they trying to offset their carbon footprint, or tyretrack?
lol tor
trying to balance out their carbon footprint for the condoms
Now if only the brothel could collect the used condoms to recycle into bicycle tires.
ewwwwwwwwwwwww
ick I would never use a bicycle again
lol, It's not like they'd still be recognizeable!
me neither
I love Have I got News for you
but you would know
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
All right, all right, we've got a squeamish crowd tonight! lol
i mean yuk
*dunks back under the chocolate*
that is me --squeamish
going from beautiful heavenly banoffee to recycled condoms
i would just have to stop using tires at all
The Sun on a doggy painter - gnasshional gallery, grrrrenoir, sandro bottysmelly, pawcasso
help with the fi 4/7 please
only in Babble!
"and the tour de france this year is sponsored by Durex, suppliers of all the recycled tyres"
lol
fi4/7 - what you shake at your nemesis
(and I don't mean your tushy)
lies jm.. lies.. little white ones
fi4/7ing - happens in brothels LMAO
okay i am officially brain dead today
just unplug the life support and tiptoe out of here
LOL
And Ata manages to bring the tone of chat down still further...
oops.. vicuna has the right one..sorry
I try :)
I blame FM
LOL
But of course you do. Who else?
exactly!
(But I'm telling her that you said she was an expert on what goes on in brothels.)
LMAO. I guess that should be Haz really
Iknow all about what happens in brothels
do tell ata--
LOL
i heard they play patty cake all day
Let me guess. Sex?
that what your daddy said?
my godsister was in a play last year based on a brothel, all the dialogue was actual dialogue from the prostitutes. It was quite amazing
and i heard that they group the used thingies for recycling, in fact they are so busy they haven't time to actually use said thingies
lol, jmc.
that is actually pretty good news jac
There, jacq. If they recycled UNused condoms would you be able to ride the bikes?
i agree jmc, but at that rate durex will never sponsor the tour de france
I would ride them but it looses some the green if you recycle an unused product
maybe the tour de britain
LOLOLOLOLOLOL really jmc?
I suppose they could call it preconsumer waste
Sheesh, jmc. Some people find a reason to complain about everything! lol
i am in a crabby mood and will apologize to no one for it
awwwww *hugs jmc*
That's the spirit!
you go jmc, we all have crabby days (avoids the snapping claws those pincers can hurt!!)
I just sent out to the mailers a big mailing and then the postal carrier came in with 368 changes of addresses
(Oh, I guess the right response was sympathy and not encouragement? My social skills are a little weak.)
this has not been a good week at all!
ouch
Oh, that's way beyond annoying, jmc. (belated hugs)
vic your comment was just fine!
passes a pile of used and as yet unrecycled condoms for inclusion with the thank you notes for those addressees
between the messed up data base, the creditor calls and now this I am ready to throw the whole mess out the window
lol jac I will pass on that
I'm sure nobody'll wonder about that, jacq.
You could label them "make love not war."
can you defenestrate a mailing list?
they might just think that jmc is happy at work
*spreads thick ma4 beneath jmc's windows, just in case*
hi everyone - just popping in for a few minutes - jmc -I"m so sorry!
the religious right donors would have my head for sure!
hi kris
I am tried of coming to babbleland and bitching about my work
send them the wrappers jmc
Hello, Kris.
Hi Vic.
you are utterly allowed, bitch away!
Awww, jmc. =(
ty you all
you can bitch here and nobody gets hurt, especially you
I guess I'm just happy to hear that a nice Quaker girl like you has some religious right donors.
actually quit a few vic -- my work crosses the political lines
bitch away, jmc - you've got the right week for it.
I have a big donor who is a right wing republican conservative christian
I'm sure your WORK does. The question is whether THEY do. SO I'm happy to hear that they do.
and the next biggest is an atheist communist trust fund baby
bunch of nra members too boot
Intriguing.
it's nice when people surprise you!
BOO!
my favorite conversation so far has been with the Mormon who refused to fight in WWII
LOL
(Just trying to surprise you. Ha ha.)
pees from the surprise
Yay! It worked! lol
*blinks*
Now wasn't that nice?
lol
sure vic
*faints*
*throws a vaseful of water on ata*
Can anyone help with the LA 6/24, please
lol - my 7-year-old son saw jacq's "pee" and was overcome with giggles, saying "That is SO inappropriate!" Good thing he wasn't here earlier, I guess.
what we might be typing on, not a pc but a la****
what I usually play babble on soodle
awwww cute!
la6/24 - portable computer
LOLOLOL
hi ToG!
eek! I often hope there are no really young lurkers!
Thank you all. that one was evading me. Thats fireworks for me!
Vi, please apologise for me, he is right it was inappropriate
we are often "so inappropriate"!
wtg soodle
Changed my icon for today :)
whoo hoo soodle
Yeah, jmc. But there's the internet for you. Kids need to be supervised first and then taught to deal.
Nonsense, jacq. He's fine!
is that a word in the grid kris??
Yay for Soodlebum!
yes
if he doesn't know about peeing yet ...... :P
spats
now you can teach him about the pb vic
Sorry! That was the afore-mentioned son at work while I was admiring his sister's artwork!
Hi Babble pals
To the PB for TOG-boy. I hope it's appropriate in there!
Hi beachboggle
well in that case good for him!
always appropriate in there :)
*gives TOG-boy one get out of pb free coupon*
hi beach
he's doing better than some long-term babblers ;P
Hello, beachboggle.
hi leen
You all are so very kind to the dear boy. =D
oooh a Welsh girl :)
hi janus
hello everyone
hi janus
Hello, janus.
Hi Janus
fibs
oh crap- wrong window - pb for me
Who you callin' a liar, Kris?
totally changing the subject - Vi, have you ever tried doing any Escher type prints?
No, I haven't got the technical skill for that kind of detail, alas. Why?
I am ....
LOL
Etchings, or drawings?
drawings. thats hard enough!!!
I'm being quite amazed at how it twiddles your mind
Yeah, I would think so! But I have fooled around with tesselations some.
fun, though, isn't it? I'm trying to do a tessellation of "angels and demons"
That should be cool. How's it coming?
very very slowly LOL. I just pulled it out again, hence the question
the angels are easy, trying to con the devils into fitting is harder
The one trick I've played with is taking a base shape, like rectangle, and then if you cut bits out and attach them back on somewhere else around the edge, no matter how complicated your shape it will always tesselate.
I'm trying that ... sort of ... but just drawing it out. I'm going to have very strange shaped devils :D
Well, devils are warped, right?
that's my theory :P
I'll let you know how it goes
=)
I want to see a picture at some point.
Im quite mad
well hello, lady audley
oh sure!
I'm doing rooster and chicken next, with fancy borders, and all sorts of doodley patterns to make up the feathers.
Well, yes, but it's all part of your ineffable charm.
I'm trying to decide at the moment whether to go to the extra effort to try and make each angel and demon different, giving one a sword for Michael, one a key for Uriel etc etc
Hello, hurshy!
hi smurshy!
hiya
Oh, that would be very cool, Ata!
hi hurshy
marty's trying to decide whether to stay on my lap or go see the shower.
it would ... again, the angels are easy, trying to do the same for the devils is harder!
hi smarty marty!
Decisions decisions.
yay !new Sily pic!
Oh, pretty eyes.
it's a bit squooshed but you get the idea
Ah well, duty calls. Farewell, all!
Bye, Vicuna
bye dear! lovely to see you!
bye Vi
oh what the hell, might as well get the list and finish this thing!
i have 16 left and was thinking the same thing
don't have the patience to finish properly!
finishing is finishing
it is
laths
ooops!
Have given up even starting these days :)
fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
Ata!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Love the icon btw
*glomps*
heya FM
ty! :) I just put it up, new pic from earlier today
Evening jaq
grrr most of these I've already added
I had to have a nap this afternoon and fell into such a deep sleep only just woke up:(
awwwwww. I did the same this morning if that makes you feel better! went to bed at 11 and woke up at 3!
Hello, all!
10 mins before a meeting lol
loool glad it's not just me then!
hi jellen!
hello jellen
Jellen, hello!!!! how are you?
Fantastic pics of Silverclaw, Ata!
TY! *proud of the mog*
I'm okay, FMitch...Life has it's moments!
I was just popping in to check on the word count and saw you all...
Oh yes, it certainly does Jellen, hows Tim?
good to see you :)
Tim had a recurrence of the cancer and had it surgically removed...we're to see a new specialist Nov. 10th to go over test results and get a new plan of action...
Oh for heavens sake! Good wishes to both of you!
i will think positive thoughts for Tim jellen, for all of you
We're a little stressed over that, but trying to keep positive...
I do have some astounding news, though...
oooo!
Tim taught me how to play poker, and I've been playing in casinos for a few months now...
and .....
About 10 days ago, I won the Bad Beat jackpot at the casino where we play...$84,000!
WOW!!
WOW
woohoo!!! congratulations!
wow!!!! that will treat you to a nice break from worry about bills
OMG!
42000 is some pocket money
(breaks out loan papers for jellen)
(after taxes)
half of it is in taxes??????
YAA FOR JELLEN!!!!
Noted, jmc! (already talked to my accountant)
how wonderful!!!
jmc practical to the end!
do you have to declare it?
about at that level (i will go look)
oh yes the casino has to file a report on it
Oh yes, jacq...the casino files it with the IRS
hope you saved all the receipts from when you lost so you can deduct them
wow, still it will go some way to ease the financial issues that come with Tim's illness
*digging through papaers to find tax book*
(((crossy))) and hello ruru and wild
heya crossy
hi hi
Of course I didn't save receipts...but I can get win/loss statements from the casinos...
here we get it all:))))
can you offset those against the taxes?
howdy fm((()))
jellen go to canada and try again
Yes, jacq
BRB got to make a cup of tea
lol, jacq!
i'm glad you have some good happenings to ease the stress a little, and i am already thinking positive thoughts
ooo not bad at all the taxes will be about 17,885
not too shabby for the govt, but better than expected
in the us you can off set gambling loses only against wins and you must have a receipt
That's presuming no other income though, right, jmc?
maybe the win/loss records from the casino will work I am not too familiar with real casinos
yes that is right jellen but it does give you a ball park to know how much you can safely blow
but that is only the federal take, ok will want its share too
I'm blowing just a bit at a time...my totally frivolous purchase was a Pandora bracelet with a money bag charm...
nice jell
Last time I was in a casino it was New Years Eve and I was in Vienna, Austria (a million life limes ago or so it feels) :)
i have only walked through casinos -- i have an aversion to the ma4 of casinos
Then we're getting a nice doghouse built for my 15 year old Molly...and a patio with a pergola...
i'd rather gamble on stock
in the states can you invest lottery winning into a fund and defray the taxes?
th4 sounds like a good use of the money
rrsp? gic,s?
awwwww lucky Molly!
i am not aware of th4 crossy but what do I know?
I just don't gamble - period - am useless at it but do enjoy a good game of Blackjack.
rrsp?????
best tough base with a finanical consultant
registered retirement savings plans
hmmm brb
lol nor me FM
I will, crossy...also giving a chunk to my church and selected charities...
then you only pay taxes on what you withdrawl at the time, not all at once
never knew you'd get tax advice here, did you!
yes inded charities and church are all good, and tax deductable
Just been reminded by a chap on the TV that our clocks go back an hour this weekend, Winter is definately on its way :(
I never gambled until I met Tim, but I think poker is more game than gamble...
no those are only in canada
oh god it's already dark at 6pm
urf
but you could put some in a ROTH IRA or regular IRA and protect the remaining growth
Never know where a conversation is going to head, Ata...that's what makes Babble chat so interesting...
hurt yourself ata?
better than used condoms from earlier!
eeeeewww
a definite improvement!
remember all charity donations are fully tax deductable;))
and I was about to say how nice it was that babble chat has returned to mor like itused to be!
up here i give to st vincent du paul and sally ann;)
http://tinyurl.com/yzajh6h has general advise Jell
lol
nothing wrong with recycling
we blamed you at the time, FM :)

*holds out cap for stray coins*
I am tax deductible ;-)
Oh? some things never change then *grin*

I refuse to use the word Awesome or cool but that would be so good Ata
*hugs jmc*
TTFN jmc.
bye all *poof*
sorry, I was being too enthusiastically young and trendy :P
bye jmc
LOL ata
just dont use radical or gnarly;)
or sick. I *hate* that!
LO now that would be funny hearing Ata say either of those words.
that drives me up the wall,my son forfeits his allowance for a week if he uses that in the house
LOL
good!
or when the girls say "shut up!"
as in "shut up! tell me you didnt pay that much for a purse!"
Well I think I'll pop back out...have chores to do before we go out tonight...
Good to have seen you Jellen!
I hate the use of "shut up" too...
im cooking up my super secret home made meatloaf suprise tonight;))
Lovely to see you all, too, and thanks for letting me share my news, good and bad...
congrats once again jellen!
jellen i hope it all goes better than you could ever hope for
whats the surprise - it's vegetarian? LOL Amazed we have managed 10 mins of converstaion before it got round to food :)
Thanks, crossy!
nice to hear of someone snagging the brass ring now and then;))
Thanks, jacq!
you must of lost yer mind at the time;))
the surprise is no bacon LOL
no bacon! *gasp*
84 g,s will buy a lot of bacon;))
LOLOLOL
Who, me? I just sat there...the other guy was jumping up and down, yelling...quite comical!
oh the meatloaf..hehe you would be wrong jacq
LOL i thought i might be
Okay, poofing now! Best to all!
you lay 3 strips across the top of the meat loaf half way through and all the hickory essance goes through the meat loaf;)
instead of crackers i use a box of stovetop cornbrad stuffing;)
1 egg and a splash of milk
and a dash of whats-this-here sauce;0
cornbrad - thats my style of typing :)
stovetop mmmm YUM
cornbread even
lol i cook like that crossy
and some of those dehydrated onion bits
there is never any leftover so it must be fine;0
sounds delicious
indeed
fireworks!!!!
yaa for jacq!!!
does a happy happy dance
Yay congrats jacq!
had to list at 16
now i want everyone here to win a big prize every day so we follow jellens example;))
now that would be great! Perhaps I should buy a lttery ticket tomorrow?
yay jacq!
then we will all chip in and buy a small island in the tropics for babble meets;)
im buying one fm,hehe we have a big draw tommorow night
ohhh can we buy a huge plane too to fly around the world and collect us all
oooh yes and we could buid the PB for real and get those cabana boys in and release george C from under Haz's stairs.
hello...what great thing did Jellen get?
no jacq,hire a cruise ship;)
wont believe it phae...
what happened to lickity?
The babble jet has been on the ground for so long now I will have to renew my flying hours.

Did she get married yet?
Hi FM
so now one of us has to win money every day and keep the ball rolling
well, i went to the casino the other day and left all my money there :)
No not married yet and Tim has had a reoccurance of cancer :(
boo...we'll keep Tim in our thoughts and prayers

random UK question: do we get post tomorrow?
la6?
aren't they on strike? i was told my prospectus was going to be late
not a pc but a la6
yes if you are lucky Ata but deliveries are only up to mid day on a Saturday.
I think it finishes late tonight
ok, so that's a maybe :)
ty jacq
we got post
I think everyone is back at work for tomorrow morning but obviously there are backlogs
my postpeople live next door and they are not on strike
impressive!
hello to great britain... nice to see you folks at this hour
postal strike is not due to affect southern counties until towards end of next week last I heard.
mind you postman turned up at work today and we hadn't franked anything he had to wait for us to do it
Dorens hello and Katie too.
they aren't all out, it's an expensive business going on strike
hello, Brit buddies -- just heard a segment on NPR about UK postal service -- planning on mailing your Xmas card before Halloween? :-)
hello FM
*cards
hi une
Une i ordered a prospectus today and was told it could take weeks to arrive
hey, dorens -- feeling better?
jacq, wow . . .
I feel sorry for the posties, to me it feels like the miners strike all over again
I am due to complete on the sale of my house next week and was glad to find out that solicitors have a special mail service that they use.
hunky dory une, thanks. just exhausted from work.. week from hell, but it's over. imagine, I didn't leave till afte 5:15 today.. and it's most definitely a tgif kinda day
so do i katie, and it's worse because they won't even have pensions because the pot has been raided so much
so glad you're all better!

goodnight jacq
am going to be persona non grata for a week or so (staying in a hotel and chilling out) then moving to a house near to my very elderly Mum
oh you will still be grata fm... and a good girl for taking care of mum.
far far away *mourns*
is it really far?
no lol. but further
I know Ata but I will be financially OK so can come down and visit you at your place :)
YAYYYYY!
lucky ata... lucky fm!
Am also starting to make plans for going on holiday at Christmas (big step)
she just wants to meet sily
GOOD. GOOOOD *even bigger font*
ooh ! where, fm?
Oh on which point - quick poll of babblers - where would you go if you could go anywhere for Christmas?
Egypt if one didn't mind heat
and yes I want to meet Sily and kidnap her along with Hobbit of course :)
just got jmc's clue - woohoo! (tired today)
i would almost always go to paris anytime i could.... but there is something to be said for nice warm tropical beaches in the winter. still if i had my choice i think i'd try paris for noel and a beach in february
orrrrrrrr New Zealand or Aus or any small tropical island or South Africa
here with Bry, Mum & Dad, but if I went away again the only place I would go would be to Canada to see Diem and Mrs Diem
i'd like to go to egypt... somehow i think there might be a bit less of the christmas spirit there than elsewhere
it's not very christmassy there, but it's really lovely
beautiful silverclaw picture ata.
TY TY :) she's such a darling
if I wanted to escape the whole Christmas thing I would go on a safari
she does look a lot like my lucy, but lucy is no darling.
Sorry - just got distracted as Jonathon Ross just took his trousers off on TV! mind is boggling.
loooooooooool
sily is generally a very unassuming little kitty
she has her moments though
lucy has never forgiven me for getting my second cat.... she just hates him and growls at him and is quite aggressive... she's getting old now, and he could beat her if he wanted, and i think she knows it... spends a lot of time outside, but comes in daily to eat, drink and hiss at him
like informing me of her presence Very Loudly at 2:27am this morning
however she is beautiful and was my darling when she was younger, and i still love her. ouch... 2;27, not my finest hour
awwwwwww pictures! pictures!
how old is she?
she's 15, and deserves better.. will find a pic somewhere
awww I'd love to see
running out of words here but looking forward to seeing a pic of Dorens pusscat
me too! to both
I'm just waiting for D to get home cos he said he'd bring me a tiny bit of sushi
HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
sorry... i tried..will switch to other computer... there aren't any of her on the laptop...
Hey Herin!
herin! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
all sing! haaaaappy birthday to yoooouuuuuu
happy bday herin!
Happy Birthday herin :)))
Haven't changed my icon yet for you as it is still today here (so to speak)!
I know, we're really 27 minutes early, but hey :)
awwwww. Thank you.
Be warned that I may steal all turtles that are lost on Farmville as they are so damn cute
happy birthday herin!
they ARE
Happy Birthday Herin :-)
refresh for a sideways and squished picture of lucy.. i must admit i need to hone my picture skills, and will try to find a scanner someday and put in some nice shots i have of the two, when i managed to find them together not snarling
Thank you everyone.
Dorens you have changed yr icon - a beautfuuuuuuul pic
Hey zooz
I am still yet to snuffle an ugly duckling Ata
Hello, FM
thanks fm.. wondering if ata sees the likeness?
Dorens your kiittty kitty is so cute
oh really???! next time I find one I'll publish it with instructions for you to take only
oh I do I do!
same eyes
ty herin... most are though, yes?
same coloring too. that nice browny kind of grey- a thoroughly agreeable look, to my taste
Sily has quite amazing colouring - a mix of her mum and dad - she has these tiny stripes going down along her sides, then huge thick stripes on her legs, and spots on her tummy :)
I love tabbies
Thank you Ata
lucy's tummy is that nice soft brown color... Baby is a tabby too, but without the brown color... white belly, white throat, and very cute but yellow eyes rather than green. i have always had tabbies, save one all grey cat with gorgeous green eyes
tabbies are the best ::)
hello, all!
i do think so.... my sister has this very funny looking calico... i just can't quite see her as beautiful.. just funny
hi owl. made it through another week?
TO hello!

Hello everyone I missed
hi guys! FOUR HOUR + drivwe home today :( :( :(
oh herin i couldn't imagine you with staid sedate cats
yikes owl... but it's over... enjoy the friday aspect now
from where to where, TO?
my cat is elegant
from annapolis
not a word i'd choose for either of mine... lucy might be if she weren't so mean to the babe, but she is
and the babe is just plain silly
I bet you're glad to be home, TO
my cat is 90% elegant, 10% idiotic

I get to actually enjoy christmas - make cookies, a gingerbread house, all the stuff everyone else will miss as they run around like crazy people! I RULE
I refuse to run. Cash seems to work real well.

You do rule Trifs .. I'm in awe ..
se4.5 + mr. gore, betty
LOL jmc!
ty dawg
Thanks lbdawger.
you do realize that two months is a life time at that age
they could change their minds six times!
hi betty
as long as they change back to what they wanted this week, I am golden. And they each only get one big thing and it's pretty good, so I should be fine.
Hi!
a new toy could always be unvailed between now and the big day.
yw. heck i change my mind that many times in a day!
I have no plans on going pro.
luckily I am past the toy phase, pretty much nonnie...
I have never been a big flag waver.
I can't even count on my 23 (24 in two weeks) old son not to change
lol wht pro just lets you have pretty icons and after the trial period all the stats
you don't have to wear a flag if you don't want to, wht
I figure primo won't find his stuff, as I always hide it in my bra drawer. Really - if I find my 16 year old rifling through my bra drawer, Christmas gift discovery is *probably* not the biggest issue on the table....
rofl trif
lol, trif
brb
lol tri
Ha!
refresh wht
see?
diggity needs to go out - brb
it is just interesting since so many people are from so many different countries
dammit! Will I NEVER remember to look before I let him out? Now he is fighting with something in the yard. Hope it's the fox, and not the coyotes....
yikes trif!

feck, I think it's an owl. brb

the owl will get away
jmc, I didn't mean for you to take your flag down.

if he's a small dog the owl may be carrying him away!
here it is

Then there are things like junk email which aren't in the list.
yeah the dictionary -- enable-- is pretty capricious
capricious...that's putting it mildly
arbitrary ?
annoying?
crazy making?
*runs around chog pulling out hair*
random?
all the above
yeah that too
*resumes running around chog*
hahah at first I thought ph7 was a ph7, but it's not

between ph7 and th4 the pb has been bsy
*busy
didn't have any ph7's today.
S's squashed
go dan go
go dan!
po6?
what i am playing babble on dan
no no sorry
a guy who smokes dope
my first clue was la6
had the la, jmc, got the po, thanks
ta6?
double bike, Shirlock
jmc's icon is a clue for the ta6
Interesting to see po6 clued as a man who smoles dope. Here in UK, it's another term for a barman.
duh, i spelt it wrong earlier!
thx dan2 and thx jmc!
oh i did not know that jac
yw
ta6 is a bicyle built for two.
i just realized i never typed my icon clue word in! lol
lol, jmc
21 left
Well. jmc. that's the joy of Babble, we all get to learn all sorts of things.
yep
somewhere in here is my friend wht who was playing over my shoulder last week
Excuse bad typing, but I'm slightly too much white wined. Have had a busy day preparing and packing for a weeks holiday which begins later.
i am sure you will have a great time!
I opened a bottle because I felt I'd earned it..
go jmc
lol
I'm still here
jmc - i'm sure we will, dramas included. Well, we are taking two teenaged girls away with us.
I'm still playing over your shoulder waiting for you to give clues. :^)
oh your step daughter and a friend?
just ask for clues wht
I can give clues, if needed for a while. Finished the grid hours ago.
jmc - Step and her cousin.
and you may want to check out lickety's babble clues below
are they friends too?
stumped on the to5/6 and the bo7
bo 7 is a town where the tea party happened
that's bo6, isn't it?
pl it
bo6 is where the Tea Party happened and to7 is the plural.
ahah was using the wrong tile for the first!
to5 and plural 6 = to + 'male'.
Meant bo7 is the plural. Sorry!
whoo hoo thanks jmc & jac & all cluers, that's firewords!
whoo hoo dan!
I will talk sense mostly, but you may have to hunt for it.
....and I am back! Norwell won the Homecoming game! WHEEEE
Well done, Dan.
jacula! haven't seen you for ages girl! howdy!
whoo hoo trif
Trif - if that's sport related, I've no idea (and no interest). Sorry!
it's okay jacula - it's still good to see you!
LOL, you too, Trif.
how's all at your house? 14 year old settling in okay still? I was thinking of you the other day, and wondering how it's all going....
Trif, you'll have to send me an e-mail address so I can invite you to my private blog wwhere you will see how things are going.
trifioso@comcast.net email away!
Are you member of Facebook, Trif?
houseguest back bbl
yes, but embarrassingly enough, I friended a bunch of babble friends, but now I forget who goes with what real name, so most of my connections there are all but useless....
hi all . just read back in the chat.. jac you are good!
(((Scarlet)))
I've invited you, Trif, but it's taking ages over sending it.
scarlet? where?
It's done now, Trif.
Hi, just popping in to say 'hi'!
hi lind
Hi Lindrick.
hey there lindrick@
Dorens - what did I do??
po6?
Someone asked me earlier (yesterday now, via e-mail) if I was really going to attend JC's gig in Devon. Well, let's see, I wasn't offerd a back stage pass or even a free tickt. I was just trying to establish if he was the real thing or not. I go no response either way.
taking step and her cousin on holiday? nice.
po6 is a British barman, or po* what you put a plant intoo + a male.
what is he doing in Devon?
Thank you Jacula!!
ty for po6. don't think i'd have tried that one on my own
Trif - hee's in Devon because he's not famous enough any more to be in anything other than provincial theatres.
po*head... now that is something I could have recognized (in my youth, of course)
hahahha
J.. If you're on line, please feel free to speak.
(laughing about devon reference, jac--- tickled my funny bone there, jac)
Now, Dorens, be careful not to become hysterical there.
oh no, jac, in full c control always! (3 glasses of sangiovese to the contrary)
now honestly, how can spam not be in the dictionary??????
He was once famous enough to get his own 'Who Do You Think Yoou Are?' programme one, though. I was a bit concerned watching part of itm, when he went into his parents back garden, to hear his mother say, 'I hope you don't find any FOREIGNERS in our family!'
Spam is NOT in the dictionatary.
is there anyone here who doesn' t know monty python? if not unwanted emails? I know it's not in the dictionary, but we all know the word!!!
well, i never heard of him before but i sure do know plenty about him now. more than i need to, actually
I must watch the rest of the programme to see what his mother meant, if it was ever explained.
would it be worth your time?
I won't post the link to that programme here, lest it sudddenly we deleted.
It'd be worth 2 morning big cups of tea, Dorens, whilst I' awakening.
lol
Any moe clues needed before I have to get up to make sure Beloved doesn't pack my jam making stuff (jars etc) in with our holiday stuff?
where you going Jac?
so where are you off to jac?
He assured me he would not do that earlier, but he had to find two of those plugs thingeys with about 6 things you can plug into earlier, to [ut away for the packing. He put them atop my jam-making boxes. LOL
LOL
well, depending on where you are, perhaps you can make some very interesting jam
North Devon, in UK, lindrick.
oh cool Jac, I was born in Dorset but never got to visit Devon
oh i get it... can see the performance in devon then. well, all i really know about devon is clotted cream with strawberries.... enjoy
yeah hope you have fun Jac! (0:
Doorens, I already have Bramble Jelly (Blackbeery Jam without the seeds) to make when I get home. Got to give a pot to Blind Jim, the 'owner' of the briar.
Blackcurrant Jam is also on the agenda as is marmalade.
sounds yummy!
oh my! i'd be happy with a jar of any of the above! your lucky family.. hope they appreciate it
packing is the only thing on my agenda!
My homemade jam and chutney issecondto none, so I am told.
i've made an incredible chutney.. though not in 10 - 20 years at this point... had ll sorts of stuff... mangos, pears, canteloupe, apples, walnuts... took days to make.. did it with friends and it was well worth it.. but they're gone now and so is the free tiime
at this point i'd be glad to find someone who makes it and i'll pay them. no longer renjoy the hours in the kitchen... would rather babble
Dorens - see my blog fpr a great chutney recipe.
and i'd be loathe to compete with yours jac!
tell me how to find your blog, please
Dorens- I reallydon't think the shipping cost for one jar would be worth it when you could makeit and mmore for youself.
I thought you were already invited to my blog, Dorens?
Oh not, I see. I need an e-mail address to invite you with.
haha! you are right. but i can't imagine when i'd want to spend the time to make mine... need to find y our recipe.... and maybe i was, not saying i wasn't. but i'm rather brain dead and maybe i didn't notice? can you do it through facebook?
I think I have both of you on my facebook
most exciting.. will probably take a month or two to find the time to do this, but most excited that i can finally make chutney again since Ken would really really appreciate it for christmas. so would various family members. oh joy oh joy, i'm going to be redomesticated
Yes, I can do it through Facebook. I think we are connected there, aren't we? If not, we'll remedy that.
yes we are, and i've just even sent you a message
If you'd read my blog, Dorens, yoiu'd kow that my Beloved hatees the smell of chutney being made and doesn't eat it either;
yes lind.. but i basically only use facebook to play the dastardly addictive game of lexulous
oh I love that game too!
gotta go pizza is here
bye guys catch you next time, take care! (0:
oh my no, poor thing.. what a shame. and no, i've not seen your blog jacs, but we'll fix that, won't we? bye lind. enjoy the pizza
Lindrick - how can you bear to eat take-out pizza when my Belove makes pizza so much better?
jacs, your beloved is not exactly convenient to lind now is he?
well my family likes chutney, misses my old one, and would be delighted to have some. even if it doesn't take two to three days to make
Jac when I arrive in the UK i will search you out and try some of your pizza!!
My Belove, Dorens isn't always convenient to anyone but himself. But he will m,arry me one day, me and 'Step' willl make sure of that. LOL
lindrixcxk - not my pizza, but my other half's. Thought I do make a mean potato base piza.
I'll be there in less than 2 months Jac! (0:
well jac, when i get back to england next, i shall show up at your doorstep and beg for paul's pizza
Both Dorens and Linndrick willl be very welcome.
aaww thanks Jac! (0:
ok gotta go eat, catch you both later, hugs
Have to admit that I am abit drunk now an so Imight not maake sense if clueing.
bye lind. happy packing and pizza
oh good, then i shall ask for clues
i'm only a slight wee bit tipsy myself
Ask away , Dorens.
I have 23 left, and it might as well be 230. The nyquil is kicking in, and I am getting STOOPID
o
i've exactly 23 left too.. quel coincidence!

If I could dispense with men, I would do so. However, the women who have offered me 'sanctuary' to smell or weigh right. No contest. Bloody men!
Neither smell or weight right, I meant.
menopause = a pause, to reconsider men
LOL Trifioso
Trif - I have reconsidered, and I still want a man.
pounce snuggles
That's not to say a woman can't be close to me.
men do have their charms
Hi herinfernallady! How are you? Welcome to the grid
min, min.. me too. welcome to the grid. how are you?
But women understand you better. Unless they hurt you, and that's far more hurtful than what a clue;esss man does to you, bcause oluyy another woman knws what hurts.
women sure are smarter than men..
hi babblers!
men are good with hammers, etc
I just came back from a fantastic brunch. hope you are all well

I teach in an inner city school in Yonkers, New York.

Does anyone have a clue for the ta 6/24 word please
oh heck. I'll just chat and visit for another five minutes.
bike 4 2
min, bike built for 2?
oh! thanks wht and ping!
Hello wht! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
stid, how's school going for you?
Thank you for the ta 6/24 clue. I just found the word
it's going well ping, I think. the teachers aren't as clear about expectations as I like... but it's a learning experience for me, and I am treating it as such. Also I am practicing being assertive to get my needs met. Seems to be working okay.
Well, I'm about done in. 38 words left but my brain left a while ago.
go you, stid! that sounds great.
I have to indicate the school I want to do my practicum in for the next two quarters. And think about where my first actual student teaching will be...
It's harder in some ways than I expected, but to be honest at this point it's not that bad.
wow, i didn't realize you could make that decision yourself
so that's my life in a nutshell. I still have two kids, and that's probably a good thing (most days). *wicked mama grin*
how about you?
only for the practicum, and we aren't supposed to ask for schools where we actually know people.
is the school you're attending sort of liberal artsy as opposed to technical?
um.... The Evergreen State College. Yes. highly alternative. but with a good reputation (and I got my BA there too)
must resist urge to chat...must go to bed...aw, heck, there's people i know and like in chat! staying.
well, both girls have croupy coughs this week. it's finally cooled down here.
hi there, feather
:D hi ping
hello FEATHER!!! *drags on computer cord to keep feather here*
hee hee, staying for a few. i was doing the nodding off thing a second ago though.
oh, I am sorry about the coughs, but glad for the cooler weather. A friend in San Antonio wrote earlier this week that they really had a big storm.
at wits we have our first gala in 1.5 weeks - kind of busy but fine
I got down to 54 now.
yes, we've had rains and floods
my boys have hand foot and mouth disease. nick's worse than daniel.
I was reading about that -- the gala sounds like it will be a wonderful experience. I hope so, anyway.
??? how did they get that feather? I've never known anyone who had it.
it's apparently very common in young kids. fever, mouth sores, rash on hands and feet
i never can remember what that is, feather, except that it's very contagious
that doesn't sound comfortable. I hope they recover soon.
no real treatment other than treat the symptoms. tylenol, etc.
well, my five minutes were up four minutes ago.
I hope the boys recover quickly and that you don't catch it!
i should be ok, probably had it as a kid and am now immune
night, stid. catch you later
i never hear of adults getting it
