I don't really understand what happened. I was confused about something and wanted to work on my own in our small group -- he walked away and was very upset to find me participating when he came back. I was not good about de-escalating the situation.
deescalating is a skill good teachers work at developing, stid - probably best to work it out with the whole group
It's a learning experience, right? I think it was partly a cultural thing on my part, possibly an assertion of dominance thing on his part, and perhaps a bit of end of the week tiredness for both of us.

OK, you got me there. But if the other party is working against conflict resolution, sometimes there really is no out except to just walk away, at least temporarily.
that, and I intend to avoid working with this individual in the future as much as possible. We don't have to be friendly, just not antagonistic.
That worked in my group report situation... I just found ways to work on other teams whenever possible. It was some sort of non-meshing thing going n. I admit to some residual bitterness though, even now.

The torch came past the front gate when I lived with my grandparents in La Jolla. We stood out there with a hose and sprayed (no, NOT the torch!) the heat-exhausted marathon runners as they went by. They were grateful.

Seems to me people are getting Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time mixed up. In North America we have just changed from Daylight Saving (Summer) time to Standard (Winter) time, which means it now gets dark an hour earlier. I HATE Standard Time.
