Ruby, Lickety's list is a great help, but sometimes I think it can be overwhelming for new people to see it and to think, all the words are here, I have to find them all. In a way, it can be a distraction from looking at the grid and seeing the words.

yex, it's a great game, especially blitz, where you just play against the clock. The bad thing is that the chat is only one minute between games. Regular lexulous attracts some stalkers and bad guys and, although you can chat, I like it less.

Rubyfoo, the list is useful because it will tell you the value of the points. LW is 6, so you need two letters/.points to fill the space.
Currencies are notorious for throwing up odd words. Like the baht in Thailand, and it'll throw in old French words like ecus and sous.

In my parents' house,m we put up the tree on 23rd or 24th, and took it down on 1/6. My neighbours start with the Christmas decorations before they take down Hallowe'en witches.
There were only 3 of us for Christmas dinner but there were 9 of us for Boxing Day dinner.
Christine - We've got neighbours like that - their houses are covered with flashing santas etc., by Nov. 30th.
Oh good! I'm a 12th nighter too. I was the only one on my block to still have decorations up after xmas! And some had put up elaborate displays before Halloween!!!

New guy across the street put lights on roof, walls, trees and I think set them to music. Lovely sight every time I looked out my window...NOT
Of course, it looks pretty, but it gets to be a bit annoying when they want me to dig out my lights so that one of the men can put them up. I'm not a curmudgeon, but anytime before mid-December is too early, in my opinion. I spent the whole day NOT mapping dialog in the 8th grade language arts classroom... I spent it being a grader for the district's 9th grade students on a semi-practice test for expository writing. It was hard, but I learned a whole bunch. was there because the teacher I shadow needed to be there!

yes, DR. It was cool. It was "real teacher work" in terms of scoring assessments, and I had the advantage of 8th and 9th grade teachers to help me understand it and validate my understanding.
I know Jake has a hard time with it. He counts every word if hte teacher says 150 words..

I don't think I could do this for a living. the handwriting of one student was so tiny (well formed but eensy) that I couldn't read it.
can you let him use the computer to compose? sometimes it's not so much the creative ability but the actual manual writing that is difficult
It is hard, DR. A better way to write is to know that an average line of text is X number of words and consider how many lines you have written. (If he must count).

this is especially true for boys. i don't know why, but they have a hard time with the brain hand coordination.
