the last time I read shakespeare was in high school -- and that was almost 50 years ago!

oh, i did find it, after i finally typed it in :)
there
even then, I don't think there were any stage directions in our texts

I read that the reason they say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb is that Leo appears at the beginning and the Ram at the end.

big galoot of a box
we've come a long way
yeah, now they vibrate in your pocket LOL
which I always think is a tiny bit naughty
I gather some young folk are eager to acquire usable old phones like that
I wonder why?
it did take longer to change your mind about a phone call
oh, over halfway!
because they're nuts, I think, west!
Don't throw the pa-ast away You might need it some rainy day Dreams can come true again When everything old is new again

Because he is a turd

HE is a darling. He sucked up to my friend today

the ceremony will, for sure, and the sledge hockey -- I'm not sure about the rest but I think so, on CTV
Yay dart !!
YAY dart!!!
we can't get that here but in Maine we can
it's all in French though
West this is him for sure: http://tinyurl.com/yzurvqu
CTV is not in French -- must be Radio Canada (the french version of CBC)
West my friend loves my cat
Arrakis...desert planet...Fremen...sand worms...none of those are in the grid
herin lol that's perfect
awww, herin!

how many words today??
215 words
hi diann, hi brookie
Hi Andree!
How are you?
brookie , i haven't seen you in a while, how did your aussie visitor go
It went very well. We decided we probably wouldn't be compatible romantically, but we're extremely compatible as good friends.
We're both glad he came to visit.
thats great, sorry the romance didn't work though
It's okay. I'd rather have an incredible friend than a so-so boyfriend.
And that's nothing against him personally... just our compatibility.
How have you been, Andree?
well thx brookie
haven't finished a grid in weeks
That's OK, Andree. There are no requirements to do so. (I rarely have time or the energy to finish the grid!)
back soon, have to make myself some dinner
gd morning everybody
umping in!
maybe jumping....
hi ruby - \i'm just here for a bit, till \i get sleepy again
hello flosey
this is an interesting grid; I'm chewing on it!
role
drole
whoops, sorry
good ruby, I'm not finding it too difficult
the first 50 words are always the most fun for me!
if\ I start at night when sleepy, I might as well just go to bed
you are up VERY late!!
yes, went to bed but room was too warm and couldn't settle, so got up and have found quite a few words
I can't sleep in a hot room and my husband is always cold!
we have a large cabin at a lodge in Campbell River - on Vancouver \island, a few hours north of us - just a couple nights away from everything, we do this every year
that sounds wonderful!
do you cook fish that you catch?
we have fun, lots of laughs
it soulnds like you've done a great job with your life!!! still having laughs.....
no cooking! there's a diningroom here or we go for a drive take in the sights, went to a fascinating museum today
what kind of museum
local history
Indian artifacts?
yes, lots of that, they were here before the white men came
isn't esne a word? medieval serf?
which tribe of Indians?
not sure, ruby, will have to look it up
the pamphlets \i picked up are in the bedroom
I wonder if they'd be related to the ones in Seattle (not that I know anything much about the northwest....lol)
I\d have to read up on that ruby
there are many tribes in BC
I'm afraid my knowledge of that sort of thing is spotty, at best
if you dig, do you find arrowheads?
we met a young chap before we started building and he has come to stay with us while he worked on a fairly large carving for the entrance wall
how wonderful!
hubby use to when he was a kid
will it bring blessings from the traditional gods?
this carver has done very well for himself, travels around a bit
I dont know about blessings, but we've had a lot of favourable comments
it is a beautiful piece
close enough, lol
hello all. I am ALMOST done with my work for tomorrow... *sigh* but need a brain break before I do the final task.
am working on laptop and losing power, better get back to bed
hello stidmama
****hugs flosey*** sweet dreams, flosey. love to mr. flosey! ((hugs))
bye flosey, enjoyed the interesting chat, made me thing about a distant world!
hey ruby -- how are you?
OK, thanks, stidmamam (what are you called for short?)
I got up to 80 earlier ruby, would like to achieve halfway before the next hour is up. And NBT. still lack the E and the right hand O on the lowest row.
things have settled down around here
lots of people just call me "stid" a few call me "mama"
those are the same NBT's I don't have, either. I have only 84 words
AHA! got the E!
which name do you like better?
the E on the bottom is Shakespeare for making like a tree and leaving... LOL
I don't care, ruby. ((hugs)) I am easy -- told the students today that they can call me Mrs. S if my last name was too cumbersome. They liked being given permission to do that.
there are several "mother" types on babble, but the only stids are all members of my family.
when I taught junior high, years ago, now and then the students would whisper my first name and I would break up laughing, probably not the correct response, but I certainly never had discipline problems!
why do my 2 ex words come from the middle, not the bottom, e? And I didn't get the Shakespeare clue, duh!
:-D yes, they like knowing the first names, don't they? so sometimes I turn things around and call them mr. or miss, they like feeling grown-up like that.
because words that could potentially be made from more than one tile are assumed to come from the uppermost, left-most position possible.
what grade (and subject) do you steach?
*teach* (obviously, I didn't teach spelling or typing
ex***. like a latin ending to the "leave the room" word that isn't in the grid
I am a "preservice" teacher, doing a once-a-week practicum in an 8th grade language arts teacher's room... junior high (very different from the K-8 school my own children and I attended).
what did you teach? and why did? are you retired?
I have the rest of this year taking classes three days a week and the practicum day, and then next year will have two quarters of student teaching and one quarter in between to do a master's project.
I was an art teacher until '79 or '80 and taught everything from K through 9 as it was a small town and they moved me around.
then I went on to other (sales) careers and wound up here in France, re-married and retired
I do, however, miss working and although I love it here and loved my various jobs, I think teaching was the most important one, the only place I made a difference.
I would LOVE to teach art. But decided against working toward that for now -- they are so busy pushing art (and music) out of the curriculum these days *sad mama-teacher look* so I will just incorporate those disciplines in my endorsement areas (reading, elementary and mid-level humanities)
one of my students friended me on facebook (he's in his mid-40's now) and says I was the "coolest" teacher he ever had...,.
Mother says similar things, ruby -- she taught for all of her working life, and feels she did good things. It wasn't easy very often, but it was always worthwhile, she says.
High praise, ruby!
the town was so small it had no syllabus or supplies and I invented an art history program for elementary school kids. It was so interesting, that the parents used to come to the classes
awesome! hard work to make your own curriculum but I know it's a great chance to really tap into your and your students' strengths and interests
and the local paper picked up on it and sent reporters
nothing like being a big fish .....
I bet you were just tickled pink!
but then the teachers' union didn't like my independence and, ultimately, I quit because of it
AFTER I got tenure, lol
that is too bad. I thought unions were supposed to support their members.
ooh! timing, ruby!
only if you follow their rules to the letter and slack off when they say....
I'm not a big union fan, at least for teachers!
or post office employees (like here, in France)
bummer. *bummed out mama look* sure. I suppose like any political entity there are rules and expectations that aren't "official" but carry plenty of weight
I also was seen skiing on a sick day (I was never sick and had about 40 days accumulated) and took a lot of semi-humorous flack from the sup't of schools.
that helped in my decision to quit
ah, we call those "calling in sunny" around here... or "mental health" days -- considered legit for people in offices, but not for teachers. As teachers, we find reasons for the students to work outside when we can.
hm. up to 100. still need that OL 7 on the bottom row. *sigh*
past halfway...
hi stid and ruby back from the laundry
Thanks Stid! of it had ap in front you would be saying sorry a lot. Hi Ruby too
hi West
phone, sorry
hello west and lynxxxx
hey west! hey lynxxx! thanks!
stid, I love the idea of mental health days and calling in sunny!
the ol word is a plural ending of bi, path, zoo, etc. science classes
got it! *relieved mama look*
oh lyn just saw your clue very clever and hi
whew - and I just got the other 9
I just realized it's something like ten in the morning for you ruby, and evening for lynxxx! I can't believe I am awake this late! LOL
nice o word, ty
go lynxxx go!
11 AM for me and we're going out for lunch, yay!
Am I in a time warp? Is this the real stidmama who should be tucked up in bed?
of course I had to stop thinking of my iPhone when I saw 'ap' lol
any hint on the 9's?
lucky you ruby
morning Haz
*hides from Haz* actually, I should be working on the last take-home exam that isn't done yet so I can pack my bags for tomorrow. Last day of the quarter and everything and its uncle is due.
re9 - those who pack up the truck again.
hi haz
Good morning/evening all!
re9 the person who fills the gun
and good morning, Haz! :-D
what a juicy clue, haz!
AHA! my first 9 word, down to 100, and I shall wander off and do this last task before sleepy-bye time. (((Hugs all)))
fe9 builds on the arguement
fe9 family war and ram sign of the zodiac
thanks for all the help and thanks for being here when I need you! *scatters choclits right and left on the way out* *Poof*
I'll let you off this time, stidmama, but don't make late nights a habit! Maybe it's the Irish in you coming out - we don't like to go to bed too early in case we miss something.
hugs to you stid!!! v nice chat
Bye stid! (is she THAT scared of me?)
bye Stid
that's a wild 9!
*yawns and starts dreaming of shamrocks and rainbows while working on test* *real poof*
Don't forget the leprechauns!
I have an Irish last name (thank you husband number one) but everybody always speels it wrong - kelley with an ey!
I can't believe enable let me use a racial slur!!!
I've never seen it spelled that way.
kelley?
or the slur? lol
ruby, all sorts of insults are in the dictionary, it's pretty non-judgemental.
No, the Kelley.
I know both kinds of Kell(e)ys
But I've discovered that all sorts of possibilities occur when people who can't write have their names written down for them. On my mother's side, the Reaney surname is often rendered Reany, and on my father's side, his great-great grandmother couldn't make up her mind whether she was Hegan, Haggan or Haggans.
it's also a fairly popular girl's name here too
spelled which way. I always made a joke that y son should marry a girl named Kelley so she could be kelley kelley.....
mostly Kelly or Kelli if they want to make it cutesy
I think it's a regional difference in the spelling: in NY, most of the Kelly's are without, in the Midwest, most are with the e
PHone...
and in France, there aren't any lol
all the ones I've known are New England
what is a common name there?
girl's names I mean
something with ette?
in this region, it's Perrillat, Perillat, Perrilat, and then with various hyphenated names attached
I'll say bye for now - back later. Have a nice day all!
that's a name I've never heard
bye haz you too
it depends on the generation. Older ones, like me, had to have saints' names. Now they like Ashley, Emma, Lulu, Lola, Fatima (lol), etc. And for boys: Leo, Enzo, Emre, and they reverse the traditional Jean-Pierre, etc., to Pierre-Jean! lol
bye Haz
also a lot of Lacombe's here.
but we're in a fairly isolated, rural corner
they keep the dwarves in the back rooms, lol
in my mother's generation all the boys had Joseph and all the girls had Mary before their first and middle names
it was like that in Queens where I grew up; everybody (but me) was either |Italian or Irish!
oh the cooking aromas ruby
if you like corned beef and cabbage (which I do) or lasagna (ditto!). Here, everything is cooked with cheese.
that reminds me St Patrick's Day is coming up must get some corned beef
we have a friend from a big Irish family who says that the smell of corned beef and cabbage still makes him sick and he's past 50! lol
we have it once a year come hell or high water
I cook my cabbage with very little water that way it doesn't smell up the place
the corned beef quality here is poor, so I make it with a cheap cut of beef called "plat de cotes" and it's not bad
I like to get the leanest cut I can find
I like the smell - and with a little horse radish on the side..... heaven
unfortunately, I like the fatty meat, and it makes a good broth
not too salty?
no, that meat is fresh from the butcher
I just thought of Reubens lol
omg, I miss Reubens!
we have a nice little shop here that has some of the best meat
you can make some
it is no surprise that the French eat meat in small portions; the quality is poor, expectially beef
corned beef?
you'll be nice and hungry for lunch with all this talk of food
no lol reubens
we're going to a restaurant in the next village that has some kind of fish stew as it's daily special (Friday)
it has to be good nice and fresh

I sent good thoughts your way all day
very well, actually. All is looking good so far, only awaiting the final decision right now. We will get a call today, and if it works out they way it looks, we will sign the contract on Monday.
your good thoughts have seriously helped!
so happy to hear it
oh,what you trying to get orginized sprite?
just got back from bringing them some copies they forgot to make yesterday.
hi crossy, a loan
well good luck.wish me luck as well,im off to toront in 5 minutes for my regular cancer check up
sprite this is old news but what's been going on with the disqualified speed skater?
all the best crossy how long have you been in remission?
for that I wish you more than luck. *hugs* May an angel fly with you and may they find nothing whatsoever again. :)

haven't been following the news, west, have been so ill.

i am westford,it will take 4 hours to drive there
my goodness you've been through the ringer
still scary then, but our good wishes to with you, crossy
tc all and happy babbling....poof
sprite I thought your kids might have been following it he was the Olympic speed skater who should have won the gold medal but his coach gave him the wrong instructions
wish I could remember his name nice looking boy
it is possible they have, indeed. I haven't asked, I am sorry.
but then again all Dutch boys are nice looking
that's okay we were watching a tape and happened to see it
sven kramer
yes
Do the re 8,9 build on the re 6?
i don't think much happened. Pick up the pieces and go on, probably.
yes
I will google for you in the dutch pages, hold on.
Hi BabbleRabble, happy to see you.
thank you sprite
Do the re 8 and 9 build on the re 6 please. I don't have any of them yet.
the root word is lo 4/5 and the re's are again words
5:30 am BabbleRabble yes
just keep going
ty
can't find anything spectacular, west. Just that they talked it out, coach admits fully that he is guilty, Sven says he was very mad about it but now realises shit happens, and that he and his coach have shared a lot of successes as well. No real indication they are going to break up, though of course there are rumours.
thanks BabbleRabble and west, got them
well isn't that the right attitude? I'm proud of him
if it happened here the coach would have had to get into a witness protection program
well, dutch boys, lol. We are a rather down-to-earth people. It is said Sven will (or already has) apologised for pushing the helper out of his way. Even though everybody understands his frustration of the moment.
I felt so sorry for him
and for the coach
yeah well, that is not something that comes easy to dutch people. Though about every talkshow and sport show will have run the item and squeezed it till it was dry. And of course nobody will every be allowed to forget it ;)
me too, felt sorry for both of them. It is so awful. To lose because of your coach, but also to make such an awful and public and desastrous mistake.
I would rather they accentuate the positive
I think if they can go on together and score new successes, it will be great. Something beyond sport... something about humanity.
I agree sprite
maybe we can suggest babble
hehehe usually a very good place to be indeed.
this is such a friendly place
there is often a lot of mutual respect here, I think. And a willingness to support eachother. Very good stuff.
and lots of fun too
BabbleRabble, how are you doing?
fun is good. So often babble chat makes me smile even when I am feeling rotten throughout. And smiling makes me feel better :)
it's sunshine on the internet
I want the boss and master of the sheeplike creature to be valid.
lol that would be nice
silly enable ;)
how about king of the rodents too?
they could rule together
I'm going to have very weird dreams lol
hehehehe
I think I'm going to try to get a little sleep been up most of the night
I'm so glad I got to see you here
then I hope you will sleep now, and with weird but funny and relaxing dreams
always happy to see you too, west
thanks I'll let you know lol
bye for now 'poof'
icon clue in profile now
if you can oversee stuff, why can
't you un4see it?
so true. And hi hursh
ok, that was supposed to say un5
hi
i can't see my keyboard
even weirder, I believe that un6 would have been valid
as in, faith is the evidence of things un6? hardly weird
I mean weird that if that is valid, un5 isn't.
hello everyone
oh, well, same reason unra5 is but unra4 isn't
hi merlypoop
hows is everyone today?
because the thing has not been done. but you can't un5 something you've se4.
probably. And maybe only weird to non-native speakers. never mind.
headachy
quite ill, off to doctor's in less than an hour. And you, merlypoop?
im ok today, surely sitting on a computer is not helping everyone that is not well
not? Beats the hell out of hanging on the couch waiting for time to go to doc's, I think.
and glad you're ok. have fun playing!
yer i would probably do the same actually lol
hehehe :)

good advice from kje, red!
well, the dog does have to be walked, its a funny thing, but otherwise, I am napping.
would gladly take it off your hands, red, but you are too far away. Nobody closer to home who can help?

Thanks, I was afraid I was going to have to beg!
It was fine for me Takuma!
That could be stretched for a clue for the un 8, but I can't figure the clue with un 7.
Oh, duh, I got it. Thank you so much.
heh, I don't have the un 8.
people who are not old enough to do something are UN 8
un8 - not old enough to do adult things.

Lurking here in between breakfast and helping with the baby ... and thanks to the un clues, I have Fireworks! TY belatedly.

TO 6/27 is the past tense of to 4/6

Does fu 9 build off the fu 4/9?

Good morning, all. Hey, ruru: In Shakespeare plays, when all actors left the stage.
thank you
I thought all the actors just died?
ops sorry ruru went to get coffee
Usually! Although, occassionally, the actually finished a scene.
if it was shakespeare they either a) died b)revealed themselves to be a girl all along or c) both
Personally, I think Shakespeare was an overra/4ed hack.
I need help with the ex 6./36 too if anyone has it
I think most everyone lived through "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
hi and good morning
good morning all.
ex+2nd vowel + I like to h*** for eater eggs with my kids
first day back from a 2 wk hiatus
err easter I said I needed coffee lol
ex 6 36 is a word found in Shakespearian plays which means actors exit
Morning all who came in
I am learning a lot here! I thought the ex8/75 was a 'used to be boy/girl friend' with whom you are giving it another go! :)
lol Soodle nice pun on that word
Well, I'm off to balance the checkbook and pay some bills. Try not to envy me too much (UHG!). BBL.

becaufe the tenant having no fe9, could not himfelf have defended it. So in the exprefs warranty, in refpeft of the recompence given, the warrantor andhis heirs are obliged to defend the land, and to find a champion where the trial was by bat tail.
te 6/21?
like what you get at a restaurant to order kje
ty ru
and hello
hiya
had a wonderful flight of cabs last night, ru... with an awesome steak
afternoon...trying to get all done before work. don't think it's gonna happen.
oooh.. which ones
in ascending order of goodness... kunde, buehler, hall
the kunde was nice, but way to light for the steak
buehler is reasonable.. he is a nice guy too.
My friend is the national sales manager of Buehler.
The Hall wines are highly rated. I found them a little too tannic for me.
the buehler was the more cidic of the 3 i think, the hall more tannic with a really smooth aftertaste with the steak
too funny - yes, more tannic
the buehler was my fave of the 3 alone, but the hall was awesome with that steak
I like the Buehler is really inexpensive like $15 or so
*tiptoes out again*
wouldn't know
I should taste their wines again> I turned them down.
Hi all....clue please for un7/36 please?
hi/bye nancy
*pummels NB with huggles before he escapes*
more like 25 here in dallas, apparently
acidic, btw, not cidic
you can find it much cheaper here.
then it just needs time. must have been an 07
un7/36 - a film that hasn't yet decided whether it's R or NC-17.
Hello.
o6
06 - oops
thanx Vic....
oh.. really.
think so, but i could have screwed up the date... i had a cocktail and 3 glaases of wine - LOL
ga 6/24 I have the precious stone
My system can't mix hard liquor and wine. I suffer too much with mixing
the one in charge of the ga 4/6
it was over 3 hours, so was OK, didn't really feel it honestly
thanks BR
afternoon babblers.
red! how ya feelin'?
Hello, HT
really really tired. but I know this will only last a week, if I can get through it...
Hi BR!
you know another vineyard i stopped by when you gave me that list for sonoma, ru, was frick - i really like his stuff
nice voignier and good mixed reds that are good daily wines - go well with food
Hello, redturtlehead.
are you babbling from bed? do not make me make a house call red....
i have restraints and i know how to use 'em
though honestly, i never do...
I'm on the couch.
ok, that will do, i guess
I only use restraints on intubated patients.
i never use them, usually use a sitter
well, i take that back, i did order them last time i was on the wards for a patient we had who was a nurse
I have never had a sitter who could actually keep an intubated patient safe..
usually they just do what the job name implies
yes, untrained and lazy sitters are painful
restraints..???? kinky!
it amazes me sometimes what the bad ones will aloow patients to do... one once told me, after a patient fell, that she wasn't allowed to make the patient not get out of bed... i asked her why she thought she was there
i filed a complaint on her... haven't seen her lately
sitters, they sit.
the best are really helpful with our older patients though,m cuz they can talk to them, help reorient, help them with meals... some just do it naturally
The best luck I have is when we get a tech to be the siter...
i haven't seen sitters used much in the ED... their best bet is to move them to the floor asap
Lately we have been holding patients, which is not good for the patients or the nurses...
ex7?
no... ED's should not be holding patients... not their job
ex + vowell + what you went on last night
we have had patients in the parkland ed for days, and then we just discharge them - LOL
to 6/27?
think of the drainage from a wound kje.
crap - missed a medical word
truly hate hwen that happens
ty
to 6 is PT of latin plural of the sheet
PT the sheet, ru
snap br
I didn't know you could PT that
thank you both
me neither ru.
this interesting for nurses: http://goo.gl/CJ6q
doesn't apply to nurses here, ata ; )
red - surprised you didn't rise to my bait re: restraini9ng the RN - you are no fun at all - LOL
According to the BBC, there are over 1.7 billion users on the web, over 154 trillion emails sent in the average day, 330,000 blog posts published in the average day and over 1.6 billion Google searches in the average day.
what, being told to take care of patients?
clue for ex 6/36 please
en
no, saying these nurses are not rare circumstance that article reports on
i have not met nurses that bad, though i have worked with all levels
is just interesting that now nurses might haveto take "be nice to patients"pledge!
ah, i see
In general we are nice to patients, Ata. Almost everyone I have worked with has been assaulted by a patient at least once.
do patients have to take the same pledge? I once kicked a patient out of the hospital for abusing a nurse... with the hospiutal lawyers backing
no, but they should!
one of the companies leaders : ex*cutives + to search for and kill game: h***
it is one thing if it is an old demented person who doesn't know what they are doing, entirely different when it is the young asshole borderline personality patient...
absolutely. I'm continually apologising to her nurses after sister is pissy to them!
Yes, older demented people tend to prove not to be an issue as they can be redirected, medicated, or assisted. No cure for an ass.
Pissy behavior we dont care about. I just prefer not to be hit, kicked or spit on...
i even understand why patients can be rude when they don't feel well... but occasionally you just get abusers
well yes, but still. The nurses look roll their eyes and say they are well used to her LOL
sounds like you guys are into pro-wrestling instead of medical practices
ty BR
i bet red has wresteled a patient or two in the ed - LOL
my money is on red
It's a fairly labor intensive job.
(I wouldn't mess with her either)
I think I've lost on a few occasions!
red - did you try detrol?
Isn't that what Dr God is for kje?
random question - do you have mixed sex wards over there?
Yes, we have men and women on the same wards.
my worst ED experience (as far as unfun patients) was the drunk guy who vomited beer all over the front of my scrubs and shoes... at the beginning of a shift, of course
detrol???? why?
yes... but not in the same room, ata
ewwwwwwww
drug name
kje, you have just described like every Saturday night in the ED.
yes, i learned to move a lot faster... and to take histories from across the room
Ooooh, I thought you were asking me if I personally tried detrol...
that causes half the issues over here
what do you mean, ata?
LOL red! what a funny thing to think
I have had doctors grab my beard to move my head up and down or sideways without a word --- I don't know seems a rather odd practice
I think I like this grid, I am down to 65.
i am down to 5
BR, that IS odd. I would complain.
kje, I had to have a sick nap inbetween rounds
women yelling / angsting about being in next bed to an old man exposing himself etc etc
what do you mean by wards?
*tiptoes into chog, pinches Atas side, and runs for her life*
our ward is a hall with maybe 8-10 rooms, each with 1-2 beds... patients can be opposite sex in the same ward, but not the same room
um. a room with hospital beds in. anything from 6 or so to maybe 20 or so.
how absurd to put them in the same room
yep
no, we do not have those type of wards anymore... only in recovery, or waiting areas in the ED area, etc
All our beds in my current hospital are private rooms, it solves many many problems.
But the ED has mostly curtained areas.
short term rooms, not admission rooms
like need for isolation.
only private hospitals here have all private rooms. NHS ones will have some private rooms for isolation etc, but the majority are ward-based beds
There is one room at UNC hospital in NC that is for men and still has 4 beds in it. We used to call it the party room.
they couldn't do that here... HIPAA violation nightmare
*snickers because she just got away with pinching Ata, who didnt even notice*
now, LBJ in houston has 4 bed rooms, but still all same sex in the room
Hi Eva
*smooshes a chocolate cupcake over eva*
*EEK!* not the chocolate cupcake!!
literally 6 months ago, they changed the 2 general surgery wards at local hospital to segregated sex. 1 male ward, 1 female ward. And only because patients complained so much
haha! revenge!
well, you know us americans, ata... puritans and all - LOL
even in Africa, we pretty much kept the ladies and men apart when we could.
sadly, the cupcakes i took home yesterday didnt fare so well -- despite what seemed like appropriate cupcake-transporting packaging and my handling them...well, like cupcakes, they slid all around the box + one even somehow ended up upside-down. :(
fireworks!
lmao they still taste good though!
upside down cupcakes still taste as good eva!
yay kje!
snap ata - LOL
congrats, kje
and they go into a big gloop in your stomach anyway
chocolate was upside-down, peanut butter cup was smooshed completely. red velvet made it intact. vanilla and carrot cake were beheaded of their icing -- which thankfully was still in a solid lump and was able to be reattached for consumption...
or on your hips, anyway
the peanut butter one must have been deeeelicious.
un 7/36???
un7 - like a movie before given G, PG or R
oh, kje, after a huge bout of swine flu followed by normal flu - should I start getting worried that I'm still having strange flu-symptom days where I'm utterly wiped out after 5 months?
that would be the luck, right red?
Hi All. I finally reached my goal of seeing my name in "cream of the crop'. That was freaky exhausting and not conducive to good mental health. My rankings will now plunge as I play for FUN and won't worry at all about finishing!
worry? no... let your doc know? yes... can check some easy things
congrats jmb!
hi jmd, i am not even sure what cream of the crop is but congrats
good, thank you. Husband is being ANNOYING about it, he thinks I'm just pretending to be ill
kje, is there an ethics canon dealing with removing a patient from a hospital?
its a ranking
but then again, I have a cold finger and no one can figure out why, and I am not worried... so I may not be the best person to ask - LOL
LOL, I'm not worried. Annoyed, but not worried. But I promised him I'd ask a dr whether it was possible :P
there are codes of medical ethics, yes.. and whole journals that discuss te issues... what do you mean by "remove"
there is usually a committee for etics at each hospital br
just my opinion, ata - but don't ask the doc "is it possible i am still have fatigue due to the flu 5 monts ago" etc... instead, explain your symptoms so that they can think through a differential... a yes no question often gets a yes no answer
you said earlier you had a BPD patient removed
a patient is abusive ... when is it okay to tell them to leave or remove them>
true. good idea. darling husband is just convinced it's impossible. he thinks I'm lying around in bed to abuse his hospitality or something!
yes, there are rights thatthe staff has just like there are rights a patient has... he was spoken to on multiple occasions, signed a behavior contract that clearly stated next time he abused the nurses he would be asked to seek care elsewhere, and then violated it... in non emergent situations, no clinician is forced to tae any patient
thanks kge
treat
yw
rarely does it come to that though... usually, once confronted, patients choose to go elsewhere where they can start the process over with a nonsuspecting staff
I am not disagreeing with what was done, I am curious about the process
OR, on most occasions, they start to behave... borderlines do best with firm limit setting... think of a 2 year old
there is a legally defined process for "firing" patients, BR
I think for most people with actual mental disorder there is a different process than just a difficult patient.
that is only fair and good. I have fired several doctors
yes, I am not talking about true psychiatric or cognitive patients... though they can be fired as well, but people tend to undretand it is part of their illness
including the one that thought my beard was a convenient rein for my head
yes, and you can fire a doc at will...
yes, I wont be going back to the last one that was treating me like a formula not a person.
though few really "fire" a doc.. they just stop going... though my mom did meet with the doc she fired and told him why - LOL
good job Mom!
yes, she also writes letters to companies and that kind of thing... she likes to let people know why
I do dislike though, people who show up in the ER and start to bash their physician....they just need to move on.
I think too doctors forget they work for the patient .... I do not care much for those who think they are doing me a favor by condescending to treat me.
too many, that is
Sister refused to see one of her specialists' residents, because he told her to go home when he didn't bother reading her notes and realising she needed a blood transfusion urgently. He told her - to her face - that she was wasting a bed.
The physician I use for my eating issues has been the best I have met so far.
red - i take it with a grain of salt... there are always multiple sides to a story. My fave recently was a man with advanced cancer in hospice care that was very unhappy with his pain doc... we have a great palliative care group so i offered to refer him, but he chose to stay with the one he had just spent several days complaining about
ata: hello and is there any chance you were bitten by a tick?
plus, it is good to remember that there is no one universal style that is good for everyone... people choose clinicains who match the style they want
not here, no. We don't have many ticks here, thank goodness!
not in a small town .... they take what they get
I had one take a stroll from a dog to me but, fortunately, I realized it right away
it only takes one.....
are you talking lyme. ruby?
true BR, My parents drive about 45 min to see physicians...this after the local physician asked my Mom if she and Dad were having marital problems (3 hours later her gall bladder burst.)
yes, or chronic fatigue syndrome or anemia....
dog ticks do not cause lyme disease
should say carry... do not carry
they can carry another disease that people can get
yeah, and we don't have deer ticks here
ok, sorry!
they do not carry disease that causes lyme or chronic fatigue
if I was somewhere else but the UK, I'd certainly consider it, ruby!
I have been fortunate to have had good relationships with doctors .... (and nurses). I appreciate what they do for me and recognize everyone can have a bad day.
could you be anemic?
I just like to ask a lot of questions
red -how bizarre!
kje, he was a fairly not good physician. And most likely my Mom did not communicate how badly she had been feeling.
ok, must go - hagd all.. ata, stop abusing your husband by having bad days! ; )
She is fine now though, just has a huge scar...
I also am going back to napping.
bye kje
glad she is better, red... my mom just had hers out, gangrenous as well, at age 78
napping sounds good!
be well, redT and kje
I know I'm usually very slightly anaemic, a lot of women in my family are. but nothing this bad!
thanks for responding to my questions
Ata, from what I remember of some of your previous posts, you have a somewhat stressful life. Stress manifests itself in physical conditions very often. When I am going through stressful periods (98% of my life!), I feel worn out and very unwell.
hello all
that's always an issue, soodle!
hello TO and hello again, soodle
Hi TO, and hi again, Ruby
Hi All
hello hego
Hi Hego :)
Has anyone heard of the Babble scandal of yesterday?
???
No!! Do tell, Hego.....
hello ruby, soodle and hego
Hi TO
time to go.
*holding breath*
oh yes ...
Someone came on with porn photos in her profile
omg!
Yikes.... anybody we know?
Somehow Crossy noticed and told her to "clean it up"
accidentally though
I never saw her before.
som,e accident!
Accidentally?????????? C'mon!
or at least that much of her!
yes, actually accidentally
she had her flickr link linked to the wrong profile
Ata, we just went on playing and forgot aboout it
and immediately changed it when someone showed her
how do you "accidentally" have porn pix of yourself on the internet???
it wasn't her, for goodness sake!
Then this AM I got a facebook message from someone very angry
Exactly, Ruby!
yes, ditto, hego. someone who overreacted rather
Saying they were never playing again because we allowed this girl to be thrown out and did not support her.
listen, people. it was a mistake. someones flickr profile being hacked / mia using the wrong profile. it happens.
she changed it immediately when she was showed, and was mortified
mia is a nice girl
What do you mean she was thrown out?
My question Atais, How were we to be even aware of this?
mia left the chat. she was mortified. lindy was horrified that we didn't back up mia more.
howdy everyone..are we still going on about this??:(
I think she messaged the main babblers unlimited group
The players knew nothing.
it was a mistake. not mia's fault. don't hold it against her please.
it was not her fault, remove the picture and move one:)
No, someone has decided we are not nice people because we continued our game.
exactly. but lindy seems to have taken in personally. well, that's her decision. move on.
how could anybody think you weren't nice, hego!
Read down Crossy, I thought nothing of it at the time. It's the internet after all.
well im moving on,tell mia i teach her the secret art of bacon weaving :)
Not just me Rube.
hi, more porn?
if I put a porn pic of me, everybody would throw away his computer!
It's not the porn, It's the unplesant FB message I'm annoyed about. But I feel better having vented.
ata are you still here?
yepyep!
Oh, Ruby, so funny.
has haz been seen today?
just ignore it, hego, unless you feel like starting a complicated messaging war with her!
I've seen her on email
tell you what,if everyone moves on,ill put up a pick of me wearing just a tea towel ;0
She was here this AM TO
i guess i am too late for today
by mistake I got into BUZZ one day and had no idea about the racist and political hostility out there on the Net! I must be naive
well there's an incentive!
lol crossy how about if they do you WON'T ?
Uh, spare us Crossy.
hi all. i was on yesterday during the big flap. mountain over a molehill
A porn pic of me would be so scary that the internet would crash
tell you what, we'll move on if you put up a pic just covered in bacon
there you go
hahaha
Crossy? A large tea towel or small?
i want to see crossy in bacon!!
ok,move on OR ill post a pick of me wearing just a tea towel lol
Right Dorens!
lo that'd do it
I moved, already!
lol
personally, i was offended by the facebook message i got. there was nothing at all to be disgusted at. we play babble. i did nothing offensive and to imply that i am not "empathetic" is a crock. (now, i've vented too, and will move on)
my point too Dorens. Moving....
yaa! bacon weaves for everyone:))
i looked at the pics... then moved on -
crossy was the soul of politeness
I have to go because my husband is whining about having a sore finger and needs me to put a bandaid on it! MEN!
lol jmd
Oh, Lord, Ruby
my hubby is napping
teach him how to do it himself. His IQ might double.
I'll be back.....
aaaarghhh
My hubby is working as all good men should be. lol
*sigh* are we done yet? i want to come back
can we all please move on .......you are actually talking about my best friend it really upset her

lol
i have no party to go to tonight. and ken is in Sanibel. and I am luxuriating in the thought of a night in bed with a book and nothing else to do
nothing like a good book and time to read it;))
sounds great to me Dorens.
TO, I hope you have green ribbons for your hair!!
exactly, crossy. just hope i can stay awake

hello all
Hi Robbie
and Peri
my taste definitely changes over the years. Like, I read everything Steven King wrote up to a point, and then reached a saturation point, and altho he may still be a good author, I just seem to have moved on
his style has changed since his accident
My absolute favorite is John Irving. I have read each of his books a gazillion times, and I still laugh out loud!
back, grrrr!
hi Hego
well i loved harry crewes but no one seems to have heard of him his hey day waas 70's -80's

Correction, Ruby! If men had babies, a pain-free version would have been invented by now!
I find my movie tastes change more than my book tastes; movies I loved 40 yrs ago are often embarrassing now
Hi Angela

Hi ruby!

lol Soodle!
doren are you home to catch the show now?
I sent my son JSF's books and he hated them, couldn't read past 100 pages, so go figure!

hi Dorens!;-)
i found a non-fat granola recipe on food newtwork with someone i never heard of before (healthy type stuff) and it was surprisingly good. (i added vanilla extract.... otherwise it was oats, nuts, cinnamon, maple syrup and a dash of salt. and really really yummy
you are making me hungry!
i'm making ME hungry, and i just finished a big fat salad. not nearly as appetizing as that granola though

Hello
having meatloaf w/potatoes @ Liberty - i swear the ml is as good as my mother's was
hi herin
nice. I would love to have someone do the cooking today.
sniff. I killed my oven the other night. It wouldn't bake my 3rd batch of banana bread Tues. night; even at 400 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
new one needed?
bringit - i'll wait
yep. But can't afford one right now
ugh.
hi everyone! is anyone serving dinner? I just got back from vacation and my cupboard is BARE! - having canned soup for dinner, I think
so, I'm just thankful the burners work and I have a microwave and crockpot
you do have a few options! thank goodnesss.
Hey everyone.
Hiya, Kids. Oh, Nef. Sorry to hear about your oven.
We are so lucky now-a-days. Just think; in the 50's, if the oven died supper would be all done on the stove top and fried probably!
Nef, maybe you just need a new oven element. You can pull it out of the oven and take it to the store and tell them you need another one like it. It will probably cost less than $20/
A friend's fiance is an EXTREME germophobe. She found out that a mouse had built a nest in the insulation between the exterior side of the oven and the cuboard. She insisted that they buy a new oven, because "she would never be able to get it clean". Can you imagine??
it's a gas oven; so I don't think that would help.
Hi Judi and bugs
I have 61 left here and its getting really slow.
Too bad Nef. I have never had one of those.
Hi red!
Perfectly good oven/range. Only three years old. I should think it would be cheaper to pay for therapy for her.
It doesn't self-clean anymore; I've been trying to squeak by with it since Christmas, but I think that it's kaput now
right, Judi - what's next - buy a new house because the walls will never be clean?
Judi, nice that they could do that. therapy could work, I have a friend how specializes in tht sort of treatment.
Pffth. Mine hasn't self cleaned in over 10 years. I try not to cook anything messy in it.
Judi, it sounds like an excuse to me
Well, good luck with a repair, Nef. Hope it's not too expensive.
ever heat a store-bought pie in your oven & forget to remove the plastic cover?? talk about stinko!
I'm going to check Craig's list and see if I can find a stove there. I know 2 people who were able to get nice stoves there; so hope I can be as lucky
Evening all.
Judy, tell your germophobic friend to send the "dirty" oven to Nef. Voila, everyone's problems are solved.
Hello, all.
hey, Vi - very creative solution!
hi Kap, Vi
Great idea, Vicuna! :-D
I'm gonna work on my words for while. Yesterday I blabbered too much.
Brilliant, Vic. Hey, Nef - a little mouse pee doesn't bother you, does it?
hi Kaplan
Nope, Judi. I do know how to clean! :-)
Amen. And they lived happily ever after.
Hi to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hi Min! How are you today?
Hello, Minveryork. Cute icon clue.
Anyone have a clue for the Ol7?
hi Min
ol7 - scientific study of, pl
Thanks Judi
Ty, Vic.
Shhhh. Cat is "hiding" in a shopping bag behind me.
Very sneaky.
*crinkle crinkle*
Well, I'm off. Gotta get tarted up for dinner out on the town. See you kids tomorrow! *POOF*
Enjoy, Judi.
Goodbye Judi! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
why is girate not a word?
bye, Judi
Hello
because it's gyrate?
Nef do you have a microwave? I read your oven troubles
what VIcuna said.
DUH! I actually googled it and it came up the way I spelled it
Hi herin. I do have a microwave and a crock pot, herin.
That tells you that you aren't the only one! =)
We definitely won't starve
Microwave recipes can work
Depends on your microwave. You can get recipes for cakes in microwaves and special cheap ass cooking thingies for it
look at this: "1 - 10 of about 357,000 for girate." that's the Google results!
lol
enable clearly has not met up with google.
Enable doesn't even recognize "internet."
DH has to have lots of kitchen gadgets, herin. Our microwave actually has a convection oven as part of it (not that I've ever used it! I *think* he may have used it once when we first got it)
Switch to Convection oven and presto blamo you have an oven
Sorry if I a vanish intermittedly. I am talking law with a friend.
yeah, I just have to find the instructions and read up on it first!. Like I said, we won't starve
down now to 56...
Go, red! You can finish fast!
go go red!
I think I might have to get a list of some kind.
Doubt you will Nef
When it starts to be unpleasant, get the list.
It is nearly 10am here and I just spent the last 30 min talking tort law with my friend
Good for you, herin! That would be way too early for me to make sense on that subject (or most other topics too!)
hi babble friends
It is way to early. My friend is first year law and it is in another state. I was just teaching him the method our teacher taught as. So not only did I have to remember last year but I had to transfer it into cases that are in their state.
HI Beach
hi beach
Anyone need a clue before I start in on dinner?
Okey-doke! Bye, all!
enjoy your meal, Vic
Loves Vic
This grid is starting to lose me over the prospect of breakfast
go eat, herin. You've done enough mental work (talking tort law) this early in the day. Your brain needs food
Goodbye Vicuna! I will see you tomorrow in the chat!
It does and there is a wonderful cafe up the road with my name on it
go eat!
That means moving
"lol! well, i'm luckier than you then! dh just brought me a nice fresh veggie salad! :-d
(that was entered in the word box, BTW)
and was supposed to end with :-D not whatever I put there
fe5?
I hate when I do that....
Lovely Nef. What did you do Red? Hi Mini
sorry, Kap; I don't have it
Hello herinfernallady
I'm been monkeying it forever
Hi Kap. My monkeys are broken
typw something in the word box thats supposed to be in chat.
fe5/20 is fe4/9 with extra vowel near the end Kaplan
Fe 5 is a curling one. Romeo and Juliet's family had one of these but add another vowel
Kap; Ijust got it. Add a vowel in the middle of the family fight
OH.
herin - who's photo is your icon? it's not the frog on your profile - just curious
I have 15 more and it's too soon to ask for clues, by my stringent rules
I've got 52 left, but cant ask for clues because I dont have the list yet.
That is my kitties
Wow! You guys are strict with yourselves. I *try* to not go to the list til I'm half way; but sometimes I don't have time. I also don't insist (anymore) in finishing the grid
I dont worry about finishing when I just get too sic of it, but I do like to finish.
BO the photo is my 2 kitties.
hi all
hi jmcrick
I bet bo was asking Min who the woman is in her icon. Her profile shows a to**
Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
sory herin - should have asked Min - looked at wrong one

but he, I'll take it.. ;-)
bye Min
bottom right o is ol7: part of the name of many sciences (? "the study of?"
Nef, you rock my world!
thanks!
don't feel bad herin - i'm confused most of the time
*covers eyes*
jbp, your world must lack excitement! ;-)
it doesn't take much!
must be a sugar hi from all the cake!

heck no
i'm just working on mbt

da6/21 - people who go out together?
oops sorry

jbp if you use lickety everyone will be more clear on what you're asking for
ty nef nbt
Oh, I forgot to pluralize the da5.

ex 7/8 is fluids flowing from body and pl, Kap
not always easy to recall what word came from what letter if theree's more than one of them
i don't think i know that word.
thanks for the E Nef
medical term, possibly for pus then?
Ewww.
the ex word is like oozes... as in charm
I have that one jbp
charm or warmth
are the 7 and 8 related to it?
ex + vowel + da4/5
hmmm, well other than the fact that I can't count letters...

thanks Nef!

anyone have the first ex6?-----please no obtuse shakspearian stage direction BS clues like I saw somebody give this AM.....
tell us how you really feel pug! :)
ex 6/36: ex + vowel + r*** of the litter (littlest)
sorry very testy- 2 nights of bad insomnia follow by getting awakened obscenely early by the phone
I hate insomnia. get someone to rx you ambien.
ty vm
understand - i saw the clue also ??? if i had not been in theatre once, i'd have never gotten it
It worked for me.
also my dad is back in the hospital AGAIN like the 5th time in a year, touch & go circling the drain....
the ambien or the Shakspearian clue, Kaplan?
Both.
both?
Sorry about yr dad.
yeah, both.
are you a nurse, pug? (that's a very crass nursing term....)
yeah - hope it turns good for him
won't take ambian -had it once in the hosp. You could have lit firecrackers in my nose & I wouldn't have woken up
i love being sedated.
went to nursing school decades ago but no medical family. Dad was MD Mom was RN
not me
It takes so much to sedate me though...that's why i was awake for, if you will pardon me, my wholel colonoscopy.
I kept chatting with the MD doing the colonoscopy- you know- "so, how did you get interested in this line of work?"
I'm already on 5 meds a day...don't need more!
I hate feeling drugged. I don't *do* drugs well and even get too looped on 1 glass of wine.
And telling bad colonoscopy jokes people send me from the internet
me too cheap date at the pub!
like "so let me know if you find any WMD's up there"
1 Tylenol #3 and I'm down for the count.
want to hear a really bad colonoscopy joke?
and a jewish princess joke at the same time?
Yeah
if it's a J P joke yea
LOL! pug, my DH says that that was why he dated me! He was a poor college student!
Let's have it.
(i'm jewish, so this is not bigoted) why won't a jewish princess ever get a colonoscopy?
?
OK, why?
cause she wouldn't be able to find shoes to match the bag
?
Groan!
oh, wait... that isn't a colonoscopy it's the other thing... the surgery...
I'm Jewish too, so I can laugh.
EEEWWWWWWW!!!
me three
haha kaplan, i never would have guessed :)
that's BAD!
(I'm not Jewish. Is that okay?) ;-).
my other jewish princess joke.. sightly risqué -- any kids here?
i know- it's my anglo presentation.
Go for it.
I think I know which one you are going to tell.
How do you know when...
how can you tell when a jewish princess has had an orgasm?
She drops her nail file!
hee hee, i guess you know it then
i love that one, personally
knew that one just dont type fast enough
i know all the bad jokes
I was checking to see who was online! ;-)
i usually forget them, just up to the point where the teller tells the punchline,, then remember
That's my favorite one.
then theres the oldy but goodie (doesn't work well in print) " whats a JPs favorite w(h)ine?....When are we going to Florida????"
that was thoughtful nef... i waited a bit to see if anyone objected, and no one did
That was the only one I've ever heard before, pug
Then there's the one about French women making love- they say 'Ooh la la" Italian women say 'O sole Mio" And Mrs. Fishmean says...
"Jack the ceiling needs painting."
ahahah
ugh
sorry to miss the hilarity, but dinner beckons. bbl
shickza alert
For those of you who are not Jewish, it's ok to laugh at these jokes only when Jews tell them.
how rude
like all ethnic jokes ,we can make fun of our own
what was rude?
I hope everyone feels this is all in fun. Don't want any drama like yesterday.
the "shickza alert"
i was announcing myself
but was chuckling...
i am a shickza
I know I thought it was funny
oh okay! :-)
OK, so no feathers ruffled?
hell no
I have no idea what that term means (was trying to Google it)
:)
my mom was one till she converted pre-wedding
Shiksa- the blond blue eyed girl your Jewish mother doesn't want you to marry
it is a woman non-jew in yiddish
a female gentile
Shiksa is accepted as a word on wordsplay!
my eyes are hazel
just have lots of friends who taught me yiddish over the years
And that's female Gentile, not genital, just in case you were reading quickly
Oh! So the state of MN would be full of them then?
lots of Yiddish words are accepted in many word games
sorry did i misspell it? *giggle*
babble is full of yiddish
there are variant (regional?) spellings for mast Yiddish words
Lenny Brice said that in New York everyone is Jewish even if they're not, and in MN, you're goyish even if your Jewish
ooops most
Lenny Bruce?
Fanny Brice?
maybe they had a love child?
I know I've re** it before , but what is goyish? (I definitely haven't been exposed to yiddish words)
goyim are gentiles
Lenny Bruce- offensive comedian in the 60s who pushed obsenity boundaries- died of a heroin od
goy is another non-jew
Goyish is not Jewish.
stereotyping
thank you. Learning lots of new wordss tonight!
*shudders at the thought of a Fanny Brice - Lenny Bruce coupling*
hey BR; are you sand-bagged in?
whooo hooo it is time to go home!!
There was a movie Lenny in which Dustin Hoffman played Lenny Bruce- it's a little hard to take-
not a pretty picture is it?
No, not at all.
I think I have to put my Soupy icon back.
how did i miss that--i love dustin hoffman
It was in the 70s.
hi BR
Remember the seventies?
most of the 70's are such a hazy blur to me...
it would have had to be in the 70s or dustin would have been too old to play lenny
OK , pug, I know what you were doing.
my memory of the 70s is always set in the night
indeed no denials here
Oh-oh, more racy stuff.
i can't get no. . . . . going home bbl
Did you read Patti Smith's memoir about Mapplethorpe?
hey we were all teenagers once...
i was not a teen in the 70s i was a teen inthe 60s
*poof*
time for tea brb
I forgot to look at the grid. I have 12 left. But I get so caught up in chat that I lose interest.
I was a teen in the 60s. And some of the 70's.
I gotta go and pay some attention to my family.
Everybody leaves while I'm re8ing BR's profile! Wow!
(that was re**ing, BTW)
fs
oops
I came back Nef. I read BR's profile too.
I'm still re**ing it. It fits my DIL to a T (unfortunately)
OK, that was enough family.
LOL, Kaplan. That was short. Did they all leave?
Yes. No . I don't know.
I just saw this article with pics of Mad Men Barbies. They're so funny!
fireworks
congrtulations Pugmama.
finished with a damned fish I'd overlooked!

Hi all
Unea is right, my brain is wonky
:-D
hey, wht :-)
hi wht
hi wht
heigh ho
Wow. I just realized I have 90 left. I can go to the list!
Does anyone have a clue for the second ga6,24. It's probably a fish but I am just not seeing it.
hi again Dorens
wht it's a gemstone
ga6/24 is a gemstone
wht, it's my birthstone
ty all of you. A pretty fishy stone, if you ask me.
not really fishy, I always thought the word had either a double N or a double T.
somewhat fishy, but kind of twisty and not readily apparent (to me)
The double T is a basketball player for the Celtics
lolol
clue for the second re 6/21 please?
To mail a second time.
thanks, don't know why that eluded me so!
is the un7 a fish?
wellllll, depends on what you call a fish. it isn't a madeup enable word
so if I keep monkeying, I might hit on it then...
I don't know, bugs. I haven't gotten there yet.
I always thought a made up word was a babblet and that a fish was an easy word that eluded one.
I have the words before and behind it but....
i think of babblets as common words to babble that are rare elsewhere... made up words are words that we're not used to seeing here. etui is a babblet, not made up but common here (and in crossword puzzles)
me too red, but sometimes I have asked for clues convinced that only enable would recognize it and it turned out to be something like the things we see with.... too much embarrassment
oh the un 7 is when a movie first is developed it may not be pg or pg-13 so it is un- etc.
I would call the to 6 word a made up word.
thanks red. I should have seen that but no such luck. Couldn't have done it without you
i agree bugs, and we had a raging to** party before we moved into our house that looked like a frat house (when it had no furniture). two fireplace, beams, chestnut paneling all over the downstairs... quite the party
my exhusband's idea, of course, not mine
I also participated in a raging one of those parties in college, the police were called and I think people got a bit Nu**.
Sounds like it was a lovely house tho. I always wondered how the frat houses were so big and so nice if only starving students lived in them.
oh it was a lovely house... three stories, big porch outside the masterbedroom. about 100 years old though and in need of much work
it would have to be very old with chestnut panelling, Dorens. I'd love to see that!
Cant't find ro8.Help with some clues?
a porch outside the master bedroom sounds lovely
it was... and in the winter when there were no leaves on the trees i could see a corner of the lake if i stood on my tiptoes
more than one thing that spins around Kenny. Like a kind of a motor
sorry, Kenny. I don't have it yet
I dont think I have it Kenny, I am sorry.
traffic circles in the UK
or a men's club like the Lions or Elks

Bugs, great minds get stumped together.
must be us wht. Some people have found it
a wise choice wht and bug.....new york's famous streeet fifth av**** pluraled
just lucky monkeying... that was a made up word in my mind
great clue Dorens. It is a made up word for me too but now I have finished. Thanks so much!
yay bugs!
That is an odd one. Ty dorens.
WTG, Bugs!!! YAY!!!
congrats Bugs!
wtg bugs. I have 8 u's left myself.
9 left for me...
distracted by Phineas and Ferb.
the u's are all un's if that is any help
and actually they're either known words or babblets, nothing really questionable
the u8 is a compound word
A fish hunt, eh?
I already have the u8
I am off to find a new icon. Beer bottles tomorrow apparently. Happy Babbling
not sure i'd call them fish... fish are just too too obvious... these aren't all words you'd use every day
need clues?
I have 80 left and need to go to Aunt Jean's. She spilt on her carpet and needs help cleaning up. BBL
night nef. i'm going to turn in and read... see y'all tomorrow
A clue for the un7 please?
a film that is not yet realeased may not have this thing pg 13 or R attached to it it is un *****
not evaluated
ty. I had seen the clue and somehow thought I has entered it.
night now
1 left....
And fireworks.
congrats wht.
Night Dorens. Thanks.
And fireworks for me too good night alll....
wtg red.

the fe4/9 is what the hatfield and mccoys is all about
I have the fe4/9. I'm griping because I can't add er to it

Hi all -- watched the wonderful and moving Paralympics opening ceremonies this evening, and then managed to finish the grid :) -- fireworks!
welcome home, flosey :)
Yay, jilli!!!
hi Jilli, thanks, we had a great time but it's always good to get home
great icon jilli, quite a story
oh, and congratulations
I like your icon and writeup too, flosey -- much prettier than mine!
more colourful perhaps, but your story is very interesting
I wouldn't have known about mine unless my neighbour produced some On one of our almost-weekly Happy Hours
ah, very timely then, and the Happy Hour sounds like a great idea
forgive the typos -- un peu tiddly because I was celebrating the Paralympics and their motto "Celebrating Ability"
great motto, I haven't watched it, barely home - about 4:30 - and how grateful I am, cleaning lady came while we were away, bless her
Help! 4 words left. UN 6/24x2, UN 6/21, and UN 7/36
