already I need help with the Y's...why is it a letter?
the 10 uses four different letters two times each
deos the GE 10 start GEO?
yes - it is the plural of a noun meaning "a science dealing with the constituent parts of the earth, its envelope of air and water, its crust, and the condition of its interior"
after the "geo" is a part which means "knowledge"
what does the 9 start with please?
st9/72

hi andree
daylight saving must have started somewhere?
In the US, at least.
yes Andree
North america.
here, andree, in most of North America
must tell you about our naughty cockatiel
not in Saskatchewan or Arizona
i did not realise he was on my back and i walked outside and away he flew
oh, I hope he came back, andree!
I lost a cockatiel once - it had a wing clipped and I took it outside, not realizing the feathers had grown in as fast as they did.
after an hour scouring the neighbourhood and telling everyone my daughter will kill me i gave up and stood on the lawn hoping he would fly onto me, along came this fellow and said cosmo is at our house[ by this time everyone around knew the birds name and all particulars
wow, great that you got him back Andree
he had heard the one and only female cockatiel within miles and gone to their house
oh my, the randy guy!
can you believe that, i was gobsmacked and so glad otherwise i would have been dead meat
what a dirty dingo he is
well, just doing what comes natchurly!
ok 57 left...off to the movie...
ttfn pav
enjoy the movie Pav, maybe see you tomorrow
i have just clipped his wings something i was trying to avoid
bye pav, what movie
i have seen lots lately, latest was yesterday i saw " remember me"
may be in tomorrow pm..off work early for my cardio consult...have a slight tick in my heartbeat
may be in tomorrow pm..off work early for my cardio consult...have a slight tick in my heartbeat
the movie? well I was loaned Slingblade, with Billy Bob Thorton..or the Hangover..or Gi Joe...
good luck with the cardio, pav
I watched the Hurt Locker last night...and Up In the Air with Clooney, george...and 2012 with John Cusak
2 i haven't seen
which did you like best, pav?
what did you think of them Pav?
cardio consult precursor to the cardio exam (treadmill...to see how fast my heart gives...) !! yippee!
my latest have been avatar, the blind side , valentines day, shutter island and remember me
oh what fun :-[
I enjoyed Up in the Air, for the topic and meanings...Hurt Locker for the characters..2012 was just senseless mayhem that shouldn't be shown too often..But I love John Cusack's acting, even if he do4n't....
i thought shutter island was really poor
hey Josh!
i thought it was fantastic josh, go figure
thanks Pav, I seldom see movies so like to know what's good
also: if i try to type genseng one more time
i was going to see green zone tonight but something came up. i'll have to see it later in the week
I prob should watch the Blind Side....since my fav movie store closed (was an independent) I only "found" the Red Box Friday on the advice of a co-worker..$1 a night for each....
i am dying to see alice in wonderland, but will wait and take the kids
"mature" kids? andree
josh, what is your photo of? and do hold a particular fascination for the Dec 21st grid results?
my grandchildren are 14,13,11,6,6,3 and 3 so plenty of scope when i want to see fun movies [ like "up']
it's a photo of a man being thrown from a car - and that list should give you an idea of how often i update my profile
ALice..is a Tim Roth production, yes? with Johnny Depp? which means slightly "quirky" at the least
just curious...go4 thing there are no cats here...
and in 3d pav
I'm spatially challenged, so 3D or more do4n't help me...
ok ...so much for yawning...leaving with no Y's btw...
tim burton
pav - start to spell that yummy somewhat healthy live culture dairy desert
thanks spatial! and josh for NBT! 55 left and off to bed/movie...
bye pav
back soon
now i know how to spell what i call my girlfriend sometimes - no6/7
lost me on that one josh
it's a yiddish word for a nag
do6/21 please
sounds like a pet name for the godfather, andree
thx josh
what sor of a stupid word is that
andree, I think I saw that this Alice is not for kids
gaelic, apparently
we can blame the scots
whoa.. you guys are losing me tonight..
hi ruru
hi jilli.
hi ruru
I think i need sleep.. this isn't working..
hi andree.. haven't seen you in weeks.
not little ones but 13 and 14 year old will be fine
ruru - that no6/7 has a double vowel if that helps
i haven't been around much ruru, how is dylan doing
Clues are up
OH great, Lickety! Thanks!
thx likety
he's doing great thanks andree
ty lickety
hugo lost the last of his baby teeth on the weekend, they do grow so fast

thx josh, i need 55
try going out and coming back helen
or refreshing
I have the clues in my profile if that's sufficient
and they were much appreciated grem
i tried that flosey..shall use gremlinns
Lickety is updated, I had to refresh just now though.
refreshing no longer works for me
ok gottit by refreshing..thanks all
same here jilli, just have to go out and in again
the techie I had here thought maybe it had something to do with Windows updates interfering with Babble Expert
i don't use expert so perhaps he is right jilli as i never even need to refresh
hmmm, did he improve things for you otherwise jilli?
oh yes
very nice guy
I have 30 to go, think I'll finish tomorrow
goodnight all
wel do4, flosey! See you tomorrow evening?
bye flosey

Oh, I see that it isn't your "dream time". Have a woonderful day.
goodnight Peach
hi again
hi Andree
must tell you my bird story lynxxx
I'm back and all ears
i did not realise the cockatiel was on my back and i walked outside , he flew away, i ran all over the place calling into the trees "cosmo" i think the whole neighbourhood though me nuts, i was hysterical and told all and sundry" my daughter will kill me"
about an hour later i was on our front lawn hoping he would land on me as he is so tame and i am his favourite
a man came buy and said "we have cosmo" he had heard the name and story from another neighbour
naughty randy cosmo had found their house by hearing their female cockatiel
what a relief!
lol!
lovely story, lynxx! and good morning. just have a few minutes to jump in then must finish tax prep! only put it off for 3 months!
so he is now back safely, but i keep laughing over the whole thing
hi ruby
hi Ruby
such lovely birds
it is so nice for a lost pet story to end well -- and so rare!!!
does he talk?
if he gets lost again i know where to look, clipped his wings this afternoon, hated doing it but he nearly gave me a heart attack, jules loves this bird more than her kids!!!!
he whistles beautifully but doesn't talk, very tame nods madly when you speak to him, you have to teach them to talk very young
we found him being attacked by crows and he spent a couple of weeks at the vet while they looked for an owner so it was too late to teach him to talk
Look on UTube Ruby, some lovely clips of them talking and you can see how pretty they are
was suprised at how dull the female was, far less colour and although her whistle attracted him , his whistle is far louder and more lovely
so ends my bird story
there was a large tame parrot where we boarded our first chow,Rosie. It would call her name and when she walked over, would nip her. More than once! Chows are not the sharpest blades in the drawer -- except for Miss Ruby, of course....lol
a lovely story. Perhaps he can visit his ladylove when you bake them a cake as a thankyou!
wow - that is really dumb
jules is going around with chocolates and an offer to mate them
hugo gets on well with him, smart enough to only get nipped once

Hello spritey sprite!
hey FM :)
hi FM & Sprite
hey lyn :)
hello everyone :)
pretty flowers, FM
hi Onpaki
Hey lynxxx! My icon is reflecting what is blooming in the garden, so pretty and delicate.
Hi Onpaki
very pretty colour
Love your passion flower sprite Hi Onpaki
crocus?
hi sprite, hi lynxxx.
yes, called a snow crocus.
thanks, mine reflects my yearning for sunny weather and days full of light
I will share our day with you then sprite, very sunny and light blue sikes with a few wispy clouds and warm (relatively speaking).
hi FM. i like the color of the flower. sweet.
aw cute icon, Onpaki
lovely FM! Glad with the day and your company
I also have some minature daffodils just coming into bloom and I planted up some seeds yesterday. Spent ages mooching round the garden centre, could have spent a fortune in there.
1st time I have had a garden in 13 years and just get so excited at the thought of it :)
I should do something like that too and soon. On low budget, but with a bit of thinking it should be rewarding yet.
Do you have private garden FM or have you just taken over a ll the common garden?
am so glad for you, FM!
the house has its own garden not big but big enough for me.
will you do flowers only or also some veggies?
Flowers and tomatoes, lettice and herbs, I feel like a novice so will take is slowly.
I am a novice and tried last year for the first time, not very successfully I must say. Have a little more information now and will try about the same as you. Better a little bit that does well than too much that does poorly :)
ack phone, brb.
pi7.44 &8 new one for me - wonder if that witch from Ireland got it?
off to find that combo, you made me curious!
I just grow herbs now rather than veges - our back garden is now too shaded. Very nice having fresh herbs incl parsley though - and saves fortune
got them, never seen them before either.
interesting words. Not as popular or well known as voodoo etc.
lyn, somebody lent me a book about miniature veg gardens and there is this smart little box on legs in it for herbs en some veggies like onions and lettuce. Am gonna ask my love to make it for me.
Back again. How is the grid today as I haven't started yet.
first 2/3 very fast, then a brick wall. For me anyway.
There are a lot of those over here too. With wheels on them , you can push them round the garden and follow the sun
ah thanks spritey
this one isn't that fancy, it is very simple. But effective, I think. Am so looking forward to trying again.
The latest ones are made from corrugated iron - look like minature watertanks
Nothing more satisfying as gowing and tending a garden.
and also advice about which flowers to plant with which veggies. I like that too. Biological pe4 control.
even if it is just a few containers or windowboxes on a balcony.
FM, I have never do4 it before last year and I didn't get much produce, except lots of strawberries and 3 tiny tomatoes, and a few beans. I would so like to be able to get a meal out of it.
lol gardening is trial and error we will have to email eachother our successes and failures .
oh I would love that.
*grin*
HEllo
need lots and lots of sun for tomatoes
I think ours will be made of wood, lyn, and some fencing (?) to keep the birds out, and glass for the first period.
hi lady
hi Infernal
Ata is going to come and visit on Friday on the way back from seeing her Grandmother (if all goes to plan). Hi herin
Hi back and hope all is well.
I grew eggplant once - they were easy, capsicums are too
oh how nice. Tell her hi from me if you will.
Will do sprite, it's only a couple of weeks since I last saw her when we met up with Haz in London.
thanks
thanks
sorry 'bout that
v well here herin as the sun is shining and the temp is about +12. Seeing the sun just makes me smile (I hate winter)!
brb
That sounds better than winter FM
oh it is for sure :)
I have an attention span of 2 sec today
and it has gone 10am here so I had better put my work hat on. TTFN all.
Later FM
bye FM
Bye everyone, giving this away for the night
night lyn and bye FM
Bye Lynxx
nervous as hell. Bank is not convinced we should get the loan, waiting for their call now.
Hello sprite. the only plants I know that are good for pe** control are the Marigold flowers, little orange ones.
You will be right Sprite
yes they are in the book too.
and hi red! Thanks lady, I really hope so. Good vibes very much appreciated!
hi sprtie, are you feeling any better?
and hello herin and anyone else who is lurking!
again a little! It is slow going, but every day brings a little more relief. Thanks for asking :) How are you doing today?
I am alright, thanks. recovering from a very long work day yesterday...
with a demanding job as yours a very long day must be really taxing.
It depends, but we have had very hig acutiy patients lately and I can not believe how tired I am today! I just slept all night!!!
wow you really needed the rest then
evening babblers
I guess so. Hi berri!
fireflies... may they fly towards the bank people and soften their hearts towards us. Please keep your fingers crossed for us, babble friends :) Have a grand day or a lovely night.
hi and bye berri
hi redturtlehead and sprite
congrats sprite! good luck at bank.
I am also leaving, coffee is perking...
Anybody here?
hey scrabbler I'm here
Hi kth
hows it going?
I just woke up and am gaining consciousness.
I'm waiting for news on the house we're moving to, bouncing off the walls lol
Packing + moving is stressful + exhausting.
It is, but we don't have much to pack and I can't wait to get our own place again, we've been staying with family since December
That will be nice for you.
Hello. KTH long time sorry I drifted. I blam my friend
hi herin hows things with you?
Hi Lady. In Oz and the UK do you change your clocks ahead an hour? We did that yesterday.
last weekend in march for us scrabbler
Busy with tafe. Not yet Scrabbler
Interesting that clocks change at all.
I believe that it has something to do with preserving curtains or stopping cows going mad
I really don't know why but that is what the crazy letters to the papers say
according to wikipedia it started to save energy from people using incandescent lights in the evening
See another hair brain idea
they brought DST in during World War I to save energy for the war effort
seems there are a lot of stories as to how it came about :)
OK that would make sense. But honestly seasons change and so does daylight lenght
And, good morning
Hi Sukee. And I must head off to work now. Bye kids.
bye scrabbler
Hi Sukee and bye Scrabbler.
Good morning/evening, friends
Hi Mudd
Just checking the grid before I make my morning coffee.
It is quite a kind grid for a Monday so get your coffe and dive in :)
That is good to hear. I found yesterday's to be fun, but I was sure glad that it was a Sunday.
Didn't have the time to do yesterdays but from what I read in the chog it was a good one.
Yes it was. A bit long, but pure pleasure.
Three is people?
good heavens the monkeys are working well just greyed the y tile with the 10th letter of the Hebrew alphabet and pl
It is a start, who know who will come out from lurk mode.

I've given myself the rest of the day off so I can babble and do stuff.
morning all! top O clue, anyone?
oo 4/5 what a surprise :)
oh duh tx
yw
wow found anancient dinosaur in the grid akin to the modern elephant. *note to self must buy more bananas for the monkeys as they are doing a brill job*
So what does the dinosaur start with?
good morning all...a fuzzy search on the grid this am as can't have my coffee since off to do a fasting blood test...makes it a lot harder to see anything when I don't have my coffee, lol
I'm without coffee yet as it's brewing. So I'm waiting for FMitch to come backt here to tell us what the dinosaur starts with.
erk my net keeps dying

Hello floppy Ata :)
Hi Ata
Hello Ata!
Shall I email you a 'how to find me' Ata for Friday?
Just follow the trail of couriers looking exhausted with lipstick on their cheeks.
yes please! I can get to the A272 fine
ROFL
OK will do later today Ata.
all these young kids that are smoking at my sons school annoy me.i should go down there and scare them straight as i sound like a tea kettle at full whistle this morn;(
They probably think it will never happen to them.
smoking shouldn't be allowed anywhre near schools!
they go out on the sidewalk at thier break times, just off the school property
I smoke but not near kids.
i smoked for 25 years, quit in 2002 and still sound like hell
I have to say that the pi7/44 and pl are words I have never come across before - even in babble.
takes 15 years for everything to unblock fully, doesn't it?
lil clue them fm?
I'm with you on that one, FM.
am just trying to think of one
yeh yeh
PI + a big male pig + vowel
actuall means something to do with black magic or socery.
Ok I am a lot disturbed
pi plus what you wear on your foot, but put another consonant in to make it incorporate a pig. Or to the preceding pi4/6 add a backwards Freudian term (not id).
oh those. I know them well. haha. you missed a consonant out by the way
i must be totaly blind as i cannot se an L in this grid
I know just realised that :( pi + cons +male pig + vowel
I just saw images of my ex with more serial killer icon tats. Thank gods he doesn't now where i live
these irish words ...
Hello, Citizens of Babbletopia.
I know. Scandalous that they're accepted.
Vicuna! Hello!
Vi!!!!! Happy Monday :)
(battens down hatches ready for incoming !!!!!!!)
ty fm and haz
lol
I wish I were still in bed, but oh well.
Viiiii11111iiiiii1i11111i1i1i1i1i1111!
Hi VIc

hids under the couch
What time is it with you Vi dear?
Some things in life are certain. FM canoodling wth couriers and outpourings of !! for VI.
Is everyone shiny and happy today?
I used only 1 ! *smug*
Oh yes very much so.
Oh, it's about 8:30. Not terribly early. But I still wish I were in bed!
clur for the 10 letter word
I'm happy and reasonably shiny.
Oh, FM, have you been canoodling with couriers again?
lol,not shiny, but im perm press, just toss me in the dryer for 5 minutes and wear;0
8.30 good lord I was out and about and off doing shopping at that time this morning.
no its 1130am
she never stops
opps change that to PM
ge10 - start with four letters of the study of natural world/maps etc, finish off with a liberal helping of curious people.
I'm back. I searched the chat ... thank you for the dinosaur clue Haz.
only in Haz's make believe world honestly.
Yes, and I was out and about getting children to school. But I would have preferred to be all curled up cozy under the comforter!
You're welcome, Mudd.
My make-believe world? You'll have people thinking I spin yarns.
it's not actually a dinosaur, by the way *precise*
Well sometimes Haz, although we all do believe that you still have GC under the stairs.
Spinning yarns woud be way too much like sewing, Ha. We would never think it of you.
*Haz.
lol cat just ran by me at 1000 miles per hour, rounded the corner to go down the hall and broadsided the other cat at top speed!! lol they both ended up on their backs in the coat closet hehe
Thank you, Vi, I feel relieved.
I knew you would pick up on that Ata, was picturing Ross from 'Friends' when I posted my inept clue :)
lol, crosshair.
lmao cats are so funny
How funny crossy
the one thats up to no good is not quite 2
the other is about 4 years old at 5 times his weight
you would not think that something that is 6 pounds soaking wet could make this much noise running
ty Haz
You're welcome, Matches.
hi guys
even sily can sound like a st8!
can i ask something completely off subject?
Okay, time for me to walk Spangle. Nice to see you all and enjoy the grid. I'll probably be back later. Bye for now!
Bye Haz, enjoy the walk
Oh, farewell, Haz!
have a lovely sunny walk!
got it;)) ty haz
sure pinny
Toodle-oo!
does anyone have techniques for dealing with anxiety/panic attacks?
once i stopped looking for cartographer i was good to go lol
yes,pinny,breathing exercises
brown paper bags
like how?
you do slow breaths in and out, take your time and slowly fill your lungs and take a good 30 seconds exhalking
something i can do in the foyer of an office while waiting for a job interview (excludes things that make me look crazy to others)
you focus on some bit of mature outside while doing this
and avoiding the circumstances that cause them until you have done what crossy said.
or visualisation - being able to train your mind onto a place that represents safety / happiness for you
nature
but slow even brathing
think of your favorite flower
and cose your eyes and see it in your mind
ok - i'll try that
see the flower... what kind is it?
what happened Pinny?
i'm not sure i can avoid stressful circumstances right now fmitch
basically, i suffered from chronic panic attacks 5 years ago
they were related to my drinking and drug use
with the help of rehab and medication, i managed to claw my life back and have been panic free for the past 4 years, until friday
all a bit too graphic for the chog, so i apologise for airing my dirty laundry
Well done that is great. What happened to trigger it off again then?
these of course only work if you can get your mind into the nature / pretty place concept *before* you start having a meltdown
por nada,i drag my icky stuff in here all the time lol
thursday night i only got 3 hours sleep - just couldn't sleep, but not stressed or anything - then got up and had coffee and went off to my interview
indeed ata,you must be where you cannot be bothered for 110 min or so
10
waiting to be called in and i got there really early and they were running late, so i ended up sitting waiting for them for 45 mins - for some reason, this triggered my first attack in 4 years
Hello All
howdy hego
since then, i've been terrified that i'm going to have another one - have interviews tomorrow and thursday - and i can't stop thinking about them
I went through 2 years of cognitive behavioural therapy not working before my therapist understood that I couldn't get my mind to react quickly enough to go into some happy place to prevent any panic attack!
so what happened ata?
Waiting for an interview would be enough to wind up anyone. Do what crossy said slow and deep breathing - you will be OK and we will want to know which job you get :)
all i can think about is what happened 5 years ago and am making myself more panicky as a result - becomes a self-sulsilling prophecy
self-fulfilling even...
changes in meds, that was the only thing that seemed to work back then. but now, the only real way I can find to deal with these things is having someone with me / some complocated audio book to listen to / something that absolutely *forces* my mind to pay attention to it
Think of all of us Babblers when you are sitting waiting. I do, instead of counting sheep if I can't sleep I recall Babblers names. *grin*
Loves Ata.
yes,you must visualize, clear your mind of all distractions, there is no past,no future, only now, feel the breath entering and leaving your body, see you happy thing, flower, tree, place, feel the blood coursing through your veins.focus on the happy vision in your mind till all other things recede and it is crystal clear in your mind.it is amazing how much detail you can acheive
Pinny, you also need to put the past behind you. Mentally close the door on 5 years ago.
You're a different you now, honey.
yesterday is done,it cannot be changes.it is a closed book
you're all very kind and it's making me cry
Awwww
i will be seeing hyacinths and babblers names floating before my eyes
It's OK pinny babble chog is a very nice place to be.
when your are done with a book, close it and put it on the shelf of your mind
and being very honest with myself. "ok. I can do this. what;s the worst that can happen? I'm not going to die. I'm simply not. I might look like an idiot running into the loo hyperventilating, but I can deal with that. Now I'm going to not think about it. I'm going to count the tiles on the wall 10 times. Or focus on every word in a book. And afterwards, I'm damn well going to eat a lot of chocolate"
Pinny my 2 cents is I listen to my ipod outside, avoid pension payout days, school out times , and make sure I look at the shopping centre directory to see where the nearest exits and toliets are
You'll be okay. Just believe that and you're halfway there.
LOL and hugs Ata
dont throw the book away, because it is a reference and it teaches, but it cannot change and is not a worry, just a reference
or do FM's patent method of falling asleep. Think of a babbler's name for every letter of the alphabet. Or a climbing route for every letter. *Anything* that keeps your mind out of having space and time to panic
Some good advice here, Pinny.
i very nearly had another one last night at the cinema, mainly because that was the exact screen that i had my very first attack in 5 years ago
thats my 2 cents;0
If you need to sleep grab a law book
that was about 5 cents, Crossy. :-)
thank you guys - i do really appreciate it - i know i needed to speak about it, but it's not always easy finding someone to speak to
lol
bonsai trees are also very good for this pinny
Babble is more than a waord game. lol
you are welcome Pinny Babble is a good place.
Seriously. I recommend Probate Law or a good dose of Contract Law.
much more than a word game
not sure that would work while sitting in an office waiting for an interview, crossy ;)
Pinny will look a little funny carrying her bonsai tree around to all her interviews with her... but what the heck. It's okay to look a little silly!
I like the chocolate suggestion, myself.
loll, before the meeting not at the meeting lol
p.s. i'd like to offer my own sage advice for the day as a thank you - if you go and see 'alice in wonderland', don't bother paying the extra cash for the 3D showing
morning everyone ...
Promising yourself a reward can't hurt,
howdy mom
Hi Mom.
Oh how about printing off a copy of the grid and taking it with you so yo ucan find some words whilst waiting for the interview?
Anyway, Pinny, you aren't afraid of the interviews, you're only afraid of the panic. And there's no reason you're destined for that.
Crossy, would you please post your chicken cordon bleu recipe again. I didn't get it printed off
but among all this happy nature fluff, you do still need to acknowledge the possibility of what might happen. Because it's a reality. It doesn't work avoiding the issue, you just get more panicky trying not to think of it. It's like having a weak bladder -- lol what an analogy - it's something you need to work aruond - don't be a cinema for 4 hours without a loo nearby - but something you can also control if you put effort into it
it's totally true vic
Hi Crossy and Hego
ok mom,ill put it in now
thank you much, Crossy
hi mom
Pinny 3d makes me vomit. Hi MOM
Pinny 3D would make most people vomit
3D makes me queasy, too, herinfernal.
Lunch time here so must go as stomach is grumbling. Happy Babbling and do let us know how you get on Pinny.
Bon appetite, FM.
trying not to have a panic attack whilst falling down the rabbit hole in 3D was NOT good combo
enjoy lunch!
Bye FM, good lunch
thanks fmitch
thanks everyone for the advice
You can do this Pinny, just think of us while you wait.
i totally will
Hi Pinny
YAY!
bye FMitch
(and at the end of the day, if you're at the interview and just get panicky, ask for a drink of water, and explain to the receptionist that you're not feeling great and need a few moments. Nearly everyone has been there with this kind of thing!)
Oh Pinny, reading back .... good wishes coming your way
thanks mom
i actually did that on friday ata - one of the 3 people interviewing me did the usual 'hi. how are you?' and i was like 'oh not great think i'm coming down with something apologies in advance if i have to leave in the middle of the interview i'm not crazy can i have some water' spiel
anyway, off to the doctor in a bit to beg some emergency valiums
it's a darn sight better than collapsing or running round like a mad thing!
Xanax is better.
how does xanax work? i've never tried it
pinny, let me tell you an amusing story about panic attacks and job interviews ....
it's anti anxiety drug. Not as sleepy as Valium
I was going for my PhD interview at Bristol. Got into Temple Meads station, went to the loo, had a huge panic attack, staggered out of the loo, went to the basins to wash my face, smacked the back of my head on the tap, thought ow, and carried on. Got through the day - just - got back home, literally collapsed, and ended up in hospital for 3 days with severe concussion. And got the PhD place! So you can have panic attacks and make an idiot of yourself, and still succeed!
great for fear of flying or job interview anxiety
Oh, poor Ata!
haha - i like that ata. and i like the sound of xanax too. wonder if they do it in the uk...
oh Ata
good morning folks
I should think so.
good morning Mr. Bob
Hi Bob
you can, pinny, depending on your dr
if you asked very nicely, you might get it. some gp's won't prescribe it though

Congrats, Judi!
My cat killed the early bird this a.m. A cardinal. Evil cat.

Mom - no7 is the plural of the no6.
thanks
no 7 is pl of the no 6
Have that one - need the last one
Oops. The last no7 is most busybody.
lol Judi beat me to the clue :)
hi Momneeds.... sorry about that Judi.. put a bell on your cat?
yes thanks
Aloy, sent you a brief email this very day.
how many letters in the lone g?
ty FM.. I owe you.. promise to write back asap
We've tried collars with bells. He always slips them. I've read that they bells really don't warn the birds. Birds think it's another chirping bird. Sucks to be a bird in my neighborhood.
no rush hun :)
help on the se5/14 - the first one
had my first "Skype" video talk with g-daughter last night.. still on a high from that (-:
keep him in at dawn?
how fun for you aloy
Isn't Skype brilliant!
ah yes, so glad for modern tech
Pffth. He goes out at 3:30 a.m. Plus, our neighbor has about 8 bird feeders. Birds are practically served on a silver platter.
it was fun, now that she is talking.. (-:
Jusi - would you mind if I borrow your cats for a bit - I have a particular bird I wish to be rid of...
I've been on Skype since the early days when there were only about 250,000 users. Has been interesting to see how it has grown.
Judi that is, sorry!!
elitist birds...
CadFan!!!! What bird do you want to get rid of?
A flicker
No problem CadFan. Let me just work up my fee.
Hi CadFan
clue for first se5/14 please
Hubby was out this morning trying to rig a "squirrel-proof" feeder.. hah!
ge10?
a yellow-shafted flicker? Why do you hate him/her so?
;) You see, it is a "protected migratory species" I am unable to do anything to deter it from pounding holes in the sides of my house... animals however - being natural predators, can do whatever they like
Se5/14: an orange is se*mented + negative.
h'mm... I would check to see if you have some bugs in your wood
LOL, my Mother has tried everything to keep the squirels away from the nuts but they are so determined and gymnastic.
thanks judi
squirrels are something else!
Aside from the holes - it generally decides to start making noise at oh, about 4:30 am!!!
and thats firworks - thanks for your help
Ooh, CadFan - the guy who hosts "You Bet Your Garden" recommends that you hang something shiney and flappy on the side of your house to deter the woodpeckers. Best to check you don't have termites that they're trying to eat as well.
Happily I don't have that problem in my garden, no squirrels or big birds.
Congrats Mom
yay for Momneeds!!! congrats!!
Time for lunch. See you kids tomorrow! *POOF*
ty
Bye Judi
bye, Judi.. hagd
ruru - try this
ge10 ***thermal + g + busybodys
thanks.. let me work on that
anything else - I need to get to work now
This particular one nests every year in one of the trees near the house - and uses our house as its favorite noise generator....
I must be off for a while, have achicken roasting in the oven and need to check on it and do some chores.
ummmm, roasted chicken! see you next time, FM.. (-:
not getting the busybody part of that clue
yum - lunch time for me then work - bye all
bye FM.. eat well..open a nice sauvignon blanc
((Aloy)) will be back a bit later.

Hello kids. I am on my lucnh break for another 20 min.
Hi Scrabs, babbling at work?
I am seeing lots of words that I didn't see in the morning.
Yep, not blocked here.
Are you still in the Bay Area, Bichon?
Is there anyone here that can clue?
Would I do?
Yay Haz!
Hello, Scrabbler, how are you?
I have je4, je5, je4, je4. Clue for the 5th?
There are three je4 after the je5/22. I'm guessing you don't have je plus not off.
Yes, Scrabs, we're here til Wed. and then we have to leave. I'm returning in June
That's the one, TY.
Nice, Bichon.
No problem.
I have yo4 + plural for 5. The 3rd?
yo 4/9
You need yo4/9 - on its way to being a dairy product.
Ty again, Haz.
You're welcome.
I passed halfway!
Well done!
I just noticed that we have a 9 and a 10. Clues please?
ge10 - first four letters of the school subject where you study maps etc, the second part is descriptive of curious people (or almost the superlatively curious word, n7_
The 9 is a plural for st8 - a kind of primitive elephant.
st, a Freudian term (not id) and Mr Quixote's title.
Or shortened Disney Duck, if you prefer!
I can't figure out the ending of the ge10. I tried amne*** but that didn't work.
TY for the st words
think dinosaur ending
go8?
If Les Miserables are known as the Glums, then Les Curieux should be known as the ? (think of the smelling feature on your face)
go8 -superlatively like a bird.
Thank you Haz!
You're welcome.
OK, I figured out go8 but not ge10 ending yet.
think masto***, dinosaur ending
no7 is descriptive of the most curious in a kind of slang way. Take the last letter away. Put this on the end of the four letters at the beginning of ge10.
TY, Haz, I finally got it!
Relief!
I was focused on neurology words like amnesia, aphasia, agnosia and those endings.
That's what comes of being too clever.
OK, my first kiddo of the afternoon has arrived. TY for your help. Bye.
Bye, Scrabbler!
I will peek back in if I have a chance.
I'd better head off to the kitchen to start preparing the evening meal.
I nee a list of 'Y' words since I never find those!
yo4/8, yo5/18, yo4/9
Thank you, but I guess I had better hit a dictionary!
yw, they aren't the easiest, the points help
No help in the dictionary either!
I can confirm that all of the y words do start with y
1st yo4 is a letter of the hebrew alphabet, last yo4 is variant spelling, i think
;)

hello friends!!! ((((many many hugs))))
hiya, stid
YAY peri, sorry I missed Takuma...
how's the grid today?
a bit damp, weather-wise, seain?
stiddy!!!!
not bad stid, if some weird words
one sinks when walking in the grass, so yes
good grid, you will enjoy it stid
and there are still 2-storey snow piles down the block from me
oh my, really dc?
good. I deserve a nice grid today. finishing up small paperwork to make the past quarter official today, then my evaluation conference and I can turn to starting the readings for next quarter, and the lesson plans for the classes I am teaching over the next couple weeks *proud mama look*
hello everybody
gee whiz, seain! that's a lot of left-over snow!
hey ruby!
makes me appreaciate our spring weather all the more
very hard words in this grid
Good evening ruby
hello mama
hi FM
well, we got 4 feet in Feb and 3 feet in Dec, and some amt in Jan
it is springing around here too. starting to do some gardening
me too ruby
poor dc! but soon you'll have cherry blossoms!
indeed. the maples and sycamores are in bloom, though i've yet to see a daffodil
we have a beautiful cherry tree -- lovely shape, beautiful flowers and the worst cherries I've ever tasted
ruby, this winter we broke the 1878 records for snowfall around here.
the cherries here don't fruit - they're ornamental
our daffs are up but not close to budding yet but I saw my first wild primroses in the garden yesterday
LOL isn't that the way it goes ruby? I have a funny russian plum with the nicest tasting fruit, but it's a peculiar shape (and not just because it's the first tree I grew from a whip)
ours fruits, but it's still just ornamental lol
what color is the plum?
we have two plums: one ordinary oblong purple but the other issmall, round and yellow but the names escapes me for the moment -- babblebrain!
the flowers are white, the plum is dark purpley-red with deep yellow flesh. it's "Komet of Kubansk" from a research station in Siberia, I think.
first daffs are flowering now plus crocus in the garden :)
you are weeks ahead of us, FM
neat, stid
very nice, stid. Do you make jam?
hm. i'm at a loss for the st6 heavy and calorific food. So's my sister.
my only st6 is a dull, slow-thinking, conservative person
yes, it's the most wonderful jam ever, don't even need pectin unless I want it extra-firm.
oh, as a noun. ty
there is a pic from last summer on the website I think... hold on I'll find it.
aaah, mirabelles, those are my yellow plums
I love yellow plums!
i don't like stone fruit other than cherries as a general thing.
plums make the easiest jam but I use some jelly sugar, but less than the required amount
http://www.stidmama.com/?p=1268 from last august. it was very good jam last year.
some years we don't get any and other years everybody in the village has tons so when you get a visitor, she's always bearing plums or plum jam
I want to get a "schoolhouse" plum for the yard someday. It can replace one of the peaches that succumbed to curl.
my favorite, though, is red currant jelly. Unfortunately, it's a lot of work but it is wonderful to have it in the winter
dsceain...have u tried dried tart cherries as a snack? so so yummy!
looks delish, stid
i love black currant mself
hey aeb! ((hugs))
yes, i do like those, musica
what's a "schoolhouse" plum?
hi aeb
hi stid!...ditto on the hugs
we have those, too, and I make my own creme de cassis!
we have currant bushes, but they don't produce well. I think they need more water and I haven't run drip lines out back yet.
hi ruby
it's a yellow plum, heirloom around here, quite sweet and very nice for just eating off the tree.
Oh stiddy that jam looks so good, bet it taste great too.
the only problem I have with plums is that because we don't use any insecticide, sometimes they have worms
hm. bad smell. and the washer's ready for the dryer. need to go investigate. back soon.
FM, when you come visit, I will have a jar just for you.
it's the only thing I'm afraid of
my mom has a pear tree. we live on pear compote through the fall and winter
*gring*
I couldn't keep our pear tree alive and never got a single pear. I think it's too cold here or maybe it was just a bad spot in the garden
or grin even!
the pear tree was planted by my father in 1980, just barely under the weeping willow. Drought of 86 killed the willow, but the pear survives to this day.
we had a "sanguine" peach tree for a couple of years and the second year it bore fruit, it had about 300 wonderful peaches, and then it died.... gave its little heart out!
when we bought the house, 12 yrs ago, it had no garden and I had many trees planted
some of them are enormous now
Oh don't start me off on the garden centre route again ruby, am so wanting to buy everything to stock the garden.
BRB
we just have a quince tree, but I love wandering through the local fields - it's like an orchard with the amount of free plums and pears adn apples and and and
I need new lavender plants and want to buy a lilac, but it's still too cold at night to put in anything new
ata: in my facebook site, there are drawings I did of our quince, labelled "pears" unfortunately.
ooo I must look!
I keep them in the kitchen just for their scent, too lazy to make the jelly
there are five drawings
I do too, I must admit. Their scent is so exquisite
and sometimes just slice them up, dry them in the oven and use as pot pourri / drawer liners - get the scent through the year!
and the flowers are beautiful!
that's a great idea!
and far easier than trying to cook with them!
Ata - did you find your files?
go8 50 anyone?
most like a silly big bird
thanks for the big word!
yes, thank goodness. I did *not* want to rewrite my publications list!
go8, that is
goonest
oops
the bad smell was just a bad smell (no doggy accident) fortunately!
no
not quite vici
hey atalante! how did your paper go?
got it gracias
did you get it vici?
yay
we have4 two quince -- I love the smell of the fruit so much!
stunning, isn't it
and my lavendar plants all gave up the gh5. I need to replace a bunch of plants -- this year or next.
Evening Ata
fmmmmmm!!!
there's a house in Takoma Park, MD that has a hedge of rosemary :) so lovely to smell and take a snipping from now and again.
I had nice lavender plants for a while and then they got too woody but the replacements are no good and need to be replaced in April
hello dear
we have rosemary and mint
did you get my email with directions ?
bummer, ruby. I adore lavendar. there is a HUGE festival in July up near Port Angeles every year. I love the smells there!
mmmmm. I have a large rosemary that blooms forever it seems. just gorgeous. It's even taller than the weeds and grasses around it! LOL
do you use it with leg of lamb?
yes, ty! I should be able to find it fine, she says hopefully. Do you know - just to make sure I'm thinking of the right junction - the turning onto the A27 (?) the big road from Worthing up to Horsham - is that the junction by the big McDonalds? (If you know)
lol stiddy oh gosh I do ruby and with slivers of garlic too.
I can't eat lamb (only land animal I can eat is pig), unfortunately, but use the rosemary in all kinds of baking.
bottom row is grey!!!!
we buy halal lamb here as regular lamb is too strong-tasting for my husband
no sure Ata, will check and email you tomorrow.
*yawns, rubs eyes* afternoon all...
EvaN!!!! (((hugs))) hello dear!
7 more words
yes, tucked into the strings when it is boned by the butcher and then with olive oil, balsamic vingar and a little worcestershire as the marinade!
Hello sleepyhead
think it must be. there's a huge junction leading to cowfold one way, worthing one way, horsham one way and I *think* you the other way! I just hope it's that junction cos I'm used to turning there!!
id be perfectly awake, if i didnt have to be here in the office...
gee, that sounds so delicious, ruby!
can any1 help me with da7 please
doon
served with flageolets and boiled potatoes
flageolets = green beans?
tiny sort of lima beans but better
oh yum yum ruby and eaten with a good wine and a lovely view over hills or valleys
oh! okay *makes note to find and try flageolets*
you bet! should I start the marinade?

I don't have the da7 either
2nd da4.6 and a single dollar
SO, my big domestic chore today (other than laundr) was dustmopping under my bed... *sigh* so much dust!
sorry rhonda, don't have that one
da + consonant + male child + vowel best I can do
and FM - here's your task for the week - find out if any of your local pubs allow dogs in the bar area - then I can take you out for an early dinner!

just being out on the sea would be wonderful; I miss it, living so far inland

It would have to start in the US and call into the UK at some point and then can we go somewhere warm?

A small fire broke out in the walls of an apartment building in the 1800 block of Connecticut Ave. NW at about 4:30 p.m. No injuries have been reported and the fire is under control, but light smoke conditions still exist inside the building, according to D.C. Fire/EMS spokesperson Pete Piringer. The fire broke out in the walls between the 4th and 5th floors at 1808 Connecticut Ave. NW, Piringer said. Southbound lanes on Connecticut Ave. and Florida Ave. in both directions are closed in the immediate area while fire crews continue to work at the scene. Best to avoid this intersection on your commute home.

hi folks - hope you are all well, we made it through a near hurricane this weekend - no power for 12 hours, but no major damage to the house
glad you're ok, jbv
wow sounds exciting jbv!
(but only because no major damage)
help with the lower O for nbt
nm
nbt
exciting if you think holding your breath while watching giant trees sway like twigs is fun .....
Our weather this winter has been so mild it seems like we moved to California.
only after it is over jbv
our neighbor across the street has a giant oak tree leaning on his garage - it's so lucky it did not crash through!
the nice things about the snow that was here is that when the trees fall they do it slowly as their roots give up
the sound of the wind was like nothing I have ever heard before -
glad it is his garage and not his house
yes, we watched a few pine tree branches fall in the snow, it was very picturesque and didn't seem dangerous, this was different
We had a wind storm a few years ago that put a fir tree through some of our house windows. The sound of that wind was malicious.
i sat through a number of hurricanes when i lived in Texas so I know what you mean
a lot of people around here are still without power -
that is a drag
It is good to get back to electricity and checking in with Babble friends.
are there any pn words?
Pa (2), pe(4), pi (6) and that's all.
ty

i love flowers and butterflies but not makeup
i think I know which dinosaur it is but still cant get it. how many letters?
it is more of a mix of dinosaurs
8
st**asaurus + Mast***
now I'm confused.
st**asaurus+ head of the mafia
oops st**asaurus+ vowel+head of the mafia
TY got it!
yay!
pl for the 9
haha it was a lot of work.
okay i am leaving work early so i can run by the bank -- it was payday today even for me!
bbl
fireworks...off for dinner!
wtg red!
howdy babble buds! I've only got a few minutes before hubs gets home and I'll have to feed him. I've posted some clues in my profile; I'll leave myself connected if anyone wants to use them while I'm away from my puter.
let everyone know that they're there for solving, k? thanks.
oh no, am I a chat killer?
Sorry I'm just zoned out on the grid and red just left ADHD!
thanks for clues ADHD, they are already helping!
got stuck on those big da's
np
let everyone else know about the clues; i'm leaving babble connected, but i've gotta run for a bit. i'll check in later cuz i'm done already.
gl to all; need any clues before I go?
ad, you don't need to be connected to babble for us to get clues. we can just grab your profile from the rankings.
and thanks!
oh, okay, i didn't know that
I copy and pasted it into a Word document
lickety is up ya know guys
You can resize the profile lists too and just overlay them against your Word List
hi Pug
hi lynxxx not being rude just on the phone with Met
that's fine, concentrating on finishing and getting out of here anyway. Bye
fireworks!
hi folks - i need clue for the da7/36 - any help out there??
sorry bo, don't have it
WHY NOT???? :0
also, is the ge10 a compound word or just a big one?
because clearly i haven't your level of wordly intellect, oh gret bojazz
don't think it's a compound - think geography
plus i got home from work early and then promptly fell asleep for 2 hours - still a little addled
da4 rhymes with what you find in an atlas + so4 rhymes with what dogs like to chew on and bury
da +consonant to make the word jazzy; then plural that. Finally, finish theword with the first number.
it is archaic - dealing with constituent parts of the earth!! confused?
ty stidgmere!
What does da 7, 36 actually mean? And da 8 is just that word plural.
yw pippin don't even ask how I monkeyed that one.
a medicine used to treat leprosy, evidently
apparently it's some kind of antibacterial drug used for leprosy
bo, i'm lost - got the obvious prefix, just don't know where to go from there. will come back
fuquay, how well versed are you in funerl homes where you are? i have a friend who runs one there
not at all, pippin. which one is it, do you know? there are two within walking distance of my house, but I've never been in either
do you have the no7/48?
williford funeral home - i used to be in grad school with the son, tommy
no 7, no.
no no's at all here. must get cracking!
yeah, that's just a couple of blocks from here
no7= most curious and meddling
nice. tommy's a great guy, i miss him
if you get the no7, the ge10 uses nost of that word - don't know how else to tell :(
*most
ty fuquay. no 7, 28 was missing at that point.
i think my brain isn't ready for it, i'll come back to it. but thanks for the help!
ge10 = ge*thermal + cons + overly inquisitive person
stid - don't follow your clue for the da7 - any other clue?
da 7. The first part of the word da* is the first part of the word da*per which means spritley. Then, plural that. So now you have da**. Finish with the first number when counting ***.
da4/5 + first number? - that your clue?
yes, bo
da 4/5 is a place speakers stand. da**.
that's what i thought, but it don't compute on my computer :(
typing da4/5 (where speakers stand) + first number and get "not found"
i feel stupid but my monkeys are tired - how about the je4 after the military vehicles but before the joke?
bo - not where speakers stand, the one that rhymes with what you find in a road atlas
that je4 rhymes with neon.
Bojazz, you are mixing up two different clues and coming up with junk.
ty stidg!
yw pippin.
sorry stid - my "thick skull" - got it - thanx!!
yay bo!
Good for you bo!!!
yes - i got lotsa junk :)
thx pippin
wow, i can't seem to find any no's. maybe i need to eat something...
the no 4, 5 means to snack at a deli (I think.)
ty! okay, now at least i have all the 4's
yes - go to deli, get small snack :)
Hi all. Here to finish up.
monkeys must be feeling better, got all the y's and 13 left
And apparently, kill the chog
I've got 14 Pippen, h's and s's
not dead, wht, just sleeping
i've got all the h's and all but one of the s's, if you need clues
yay monkeys! got another that i swear isn't a word!
There are a lot of words here that only seem to qualify if you mean that they are a string of letters with a space before and after them.
H's hounded
i take it back, i'm missing at least 4 s's.
Now you tell me. :^)
well i just got 2 more!
clue for da 7 pls
da4 rhymes with what's in an atlas, then add the first numeral
do you have a clue for the se5, 14?
the first one is a color and its p;ural
yes - a se*ment is part of something, + first 3 letters of the deli snack
crap, i am wrong
se 5, 14. se + ma**ne (means great in Latin) finish with a vowel.
Ty stid. Don't know why I couldn't see that.
i'm actually stuck on the se 4/4 and 5/10 just before the color
or, okay, just the 5/10
the se 4, 4 is the number 6 almost spelled correctly in french.
se 5/10 I'm clueless.
same as it just doesn't make any se***, only change last vowel
fyi, it's spelled correctly in spanish!
ty katy!!
I'm bailing with 14 left- it was fun but I started to late. I liked the ge10 though.
ty katydid!
ty pippin, I knew it was 6.
The se4 is spelled correctly in Spanish
yw
so i went to an open house yesterday and i was the only one who showed (sign up sheet) -- it was bad weather
It is what you call a Karate Master but with a different last vowel
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
It was a fun grid, but I want to go to bed!
Open house for a house being sold or hospitality event?
but place had a cat, cute, but it also had litter box in the LIVING ROOM
Mini, hi. I am fine with 12 left and more words than patience.
litter box was OPEN, ie., lidless and had a DEPOSIT!
And fireworks.
down to 7 and feeling discouraged myself
A fun grid but strange.
Congratulations wht on your fireworks! Hooray for U
can't even seem to the the 10 with clues!
Go pippingeek go!
Need any clues pippen.
Good wht!!!!
I specialize in inscrutable clues.
oh! hooray for wht!
Could you clue the st 8 and 9 words wht?
stidg they are dinosaurs
end like a masto***
st + not the id + university professors
Stidgmere is stidmama's mere? I think I need a familial explanation but it's a pleasure to meet u. :-) Hi Min & Pip
it's the 3 st's after those that i am stumped on
hi tf
so if stid is the mama then stidg is the grandmere, yes?
Now I have 11 left---no I am NOT staying to finish!
Hi, tfgrri, Yes, hi. You have the family tree correct.
The first two refer to taking shorthand
Um, but what is a mere?
just got those, wht
french for mother
ty, got the dinosaurs. Kind of feeling like a dinosaur being a grandmere and all.
but kap, you're so close!
The st6, 27 is a stick in the mud
feed the addiction kap!
Oh, I never took any French and always miss those clues here. Thx
oh! ty wht
so 4 left, long g's and n's
So what do you need now Pippen
the no6/7 combo
ty for the st 6!! Now only 9 left.
and for my cat to stop rolling over onto the keyboard
The clue for the ge10 from earlier had to do with a room full of cartogrophers who can't keep out of each other's business
They end like your last st.
ah to be the furry center of attention
That is tne no's. They have a double vowel.
tf, i know some folks with furry suits...
wow, wht, that doesn't seem like a real word at all
I have heard it used. And I now people it describes.
But there are a lot of words that don't seem real.
Er, I didn't mean it like that, I'm NOT one of those kinda people. Not that I have anything against tho** who have that particular fetish. Just not for me. ;-)
ah, the joys of yiddish
There is the ge 10 for instance
It isn't yiddish
just joking with you - but it would definitely make you the furry center of attention for a while!
yeah, and then I'd have to get the suit dry cleaned. Ick hehehe
ok switching gears, how about the go8?
Looking for the go 8, 50.
Most like a Christmas fowl.
oops, just found it
now i feel like a silly g***e! perhaps even the go8!
Pippen, are you telepathic? Do I just have to think of the clue for you to get it?
no, cause i still can't get the &*&%% ge10!
but otherwise, apparently yes. i like this new development between us!
wow, figured it out! fireworks!
Hmmmm. This is interesting. My wife and I determined long ago that neither of us have any power of telepathy.
wtg Pippen
Hi all.
Congrants pippin!!!
The ge10 is one of the strangest words is a grid full of strange words.
Hi mongie
hi mongie!
Hi mongie. Welcome to the grid. It is a possible one but weird.
i saw the ge10 clue, just not getting it tho
Are the answers to each grid posted somewhere after it is over?
in the archives, mongie
I am finding this one particularly vexing. Only have 7 left, but just can't find them.
The ge 10 and the go 8 are both being problems.
Thanks, pipping. I will check it tomorrow.
i felt the same way!
stidg - the go8 starts with the go4 before it, then make it superlative
I don't get quite the sense of accomplishment if I always have to ask for clues. :) So, figured I may as well leave it unfinished.
ge 10 starts like the study of maps and climate and so on. ****raphy.
go8 is most like the Christmas bird scrooge bought
It ends with people who put their probiscus where it does not belong
Wht, I have the beginning of ge 10 ... can't figure the rest out!
much like the no7 but plural instead of superlative
mongie, don't expect it to be a word, just follow the clues
finally got the ge10, cheech
Lol, pipping!
I'll try!
Hi folks - just peeking in and enjoying the ge10 clue - silly word!
you have the last no7, yes? add that to the ge**raphy just don't use the last letter of the no7
checking ....
evening all....got 49 left, gave up earlier, but back now for more punishment, lol. this one is giving me fits with the long words, although I finally got the ge10, what a word!
ge10 Archaic. a science dealing with the constituent parts of the earth, its envelope of air and water, its crust, and the condition of its interior. Plural form.
But if ge 10 starts with the top g, I can't see how to get around to the rest of it! I am missing something!!!!!
Start from the bottom g
Actually, it does start from the top g. It is just very twisty
I have found that it is better to type a word that to try to figure out how it works.
The babble software finds those twisty words much better than I do. Trust the clues.
Thanks for the help, wht ... I'm afraid I am too dense to get this one! lol
* Why was Jon walking backwards on the first day of school? * Everyone kept saying it was back to school time.
ty for the go 8 clue pippin! I'm slowing down this evening.
lol, babblerabble
hi everyone
Mongie, how about this...the middle part is the beginning of the ****tic gospels, a very early christian religious group. So...ge + vowel +****tic gospels +pretty pos*** flowers
Thanks, JessasMom ... I actually just got it!!!! Whew! That was a real stinker .. and, it does not seem like a word!
ty pippin. After following your directions, voila! In front of my face. Would never have monkeyed it.
ge + round vowel + a Greek word for knowledge minus the last letter + the snake letter spelled out
May I please have a clue for no6-27? Thanks.
no + a D**** is a car made by Chrysler
da8,50 is my last long word, then only little ones left. clue, please and ty?
It is the plural of the da7 before it.
da8 is pl of the da7
da7 = d + what you find in atlases + first #
d + there is an ** for that + male child + vowel
I don't know what car is made by Chrysler.
well, duh, I already had the da7...thx, all!
It is also what you have to do with cars when you cross the street
pi7?
Thank much, wht.
stidg, if you nu**** or poke someone ,change the u for double vowel
pi 7/44 is pi 4/6 plus anagram of ***graphy Shirlockc.
Plural of 3.14159... + pig + vowel
D's Done! 8 left
great clues for pi, thx

Hello stidmama! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle!
hi Stidmama!
hello all, looking for some chatter before I dive into learning Word so I can make a document for a lesson I am doing later this week... *sigh* it's voluntary, but still more mental energy than I am really ready for.
hey nrk! hey bo!
hey min!

probably not finishing. back from doctor, sinus infection
oh, sorry to hear it Owl
ugh TO hate those
did the doctor give you antibiotics?
YES!
oh TO, that is so unfair. First all the snow, then the reain, and... *sigh* *offers cup of hot lemonade*
I usually get 2 a year, but I've been very lucky this past 12 months and haven't gotten one
he asked why i didn't fill hte scrip the other one gave me but i didn't have the same symptoms
luck + zicam rapid melts :)
i got a med last year for sinus infection - i pill a day for 5 days - it was like a miracle
hot lemonade...hmmm.. how about some regular cold lemonade..for us southerners
he said tree pollen is rampant now and thinks that's the culprit
bojazz, that's zithromax
sadly, zithromax doesn't work for my sinus infections any more
i got to pay$%$ for the scrip that was supposed to be $250
opps $54 which is obscene
is it warm down south PAV? *hands cold lemonade* do you like fresh sprig of mint in that?
what's the drug?
levaquin
Sorry to hear about infection 72 Temple Owl. Do you have bad allergies?I got bronchitis last year because of my allergies. Now I got to take weekly allergy shots

gee, that is rough, Min
mmust take for 2 weeks
I am done! I have fireworks!no7/40 was my last word

I just paid $11 for a script that was supposed to be $40 and "saving" me $69...I made a steal...but, now found out today I have two ticks in my irregular heart beat, so more tests and non-fattening foods....
YAY Min!!!!!!

ahh, you better get started on it, stid!
hello, is the ge10 a compound word?
not yet, LBD, wouldn't want to rush things...
se5/100?
nm
not, really, harp. it means
no harp, it's fun. start like the earth study ge**raphy, it's clear as the ***e on your face, and end like the last part of pretty flowers pos***
that was long... let me know if it worked!
a science dealing with the constituent parts of the earth, its envelope of air and water, its crust, and the condition of its interior. =ge10

yippee!! I did something complicated right today!!!!
OH!!!! *sudden remembering* actually, more than one thing.
LBD!!!! guess what??? my teacher told me at my conference today that I am exceeding expectations!!!!

lol stid
Bye Stid!
gn lbd... sleep well
Hi stid. This virus I've had since last November and the cold I have to go with it now has shot my body clock to hell. I'm hoping the clock change in 2 weeks will help to correct it.
Oooh! Pretty swirly icons!
Goodnight stid & lbd.
My icon is of white egret orchids. I grow them in my greenhouse. They're like little white birds. Quite lovely.
amazing jca
st6/27?
Harp - they are, aren't they?:-)
Very beautiful!
wow, jac! gorgeous!
st6/27 is the type of carbohydrate food my ex MIL cooks.
i joke that i should start selling marijuana because at least it's a weed so i could probably get it to grow!
*carbohydrate-loaded
does it contain potatoes, jac?
I have no idea how, but I got it!
Harp - both me and my Mum accidentally grew it one hot summer - it came from the hemp in the wild bird seed!
lol
Harp - re the heavy food - can do, yes.
Starchy, heavy food is st6.
i've got 8 left to go, 5's and 6's and they are *killing* me, arggg
go jess! I'm with ya! 5 here
94 here
Harp - my Mum panicked when I told her what the 4 foot tall 'pretty plant' was on her lawn and threw it on the compost heap. The next morning, most of it had go4 and lots of stoned snails and slugs were asleep there.
do6?
lol jac
good time had by all
that's one i need too
Odd thing is, we had a population explosion of molluscs after that. Dunno if they'd had a 'stoned orgy' or invited all their neighbours over for a party!

TY again Jac!
se 6, 24 please?
stid - your cousin appears to be about to keep a wild mouse captive as a pet (from what I see on FB). As a doctoer, I assume she realises the health implications of that at the very least? I would have said something to her myself, but I felt too ill yesterday.
ooh. now down to TEN! (thanks to jac)
pi7?
se6/24 - metal bit for footwear heel + negative reply.
yes, I see that, and I am sure she knows the risks, having lived in that area all her life and doctoring children for a long time.

aha! da capo al S!
pi7/8 = plural of 3/14 + large pig + vowel and plural

i love those orchids, jac
Hi Jellen.
i'll think about them all night
Harp - yell if I can help.
Glad you like my flowers, Harp.
ok 4 to go.....
3
ap5?
Harp - it's 'proper name' (the orchid) is Habenaria radiata.
ap5.14 = a comparative word for chimps, orangs and gorillas.
do you grow it inside?
thanks, done!
harp - it grows wild in Japan, but I grow it inside here in UK.
well done, harp. *~*~*~*~*~
Yay, harp!!!
I'd love to see something like that in the wild! wow!
thanks for all the help!
EEK! I just did a greengrocer's apostrophe on 'its'.:-((
tsk, tsk, Jac!
lol I haven't heard it called that before jac! I LOVE it!
Easy to do with lack of sleep and a sticky old keyboard on a chog, but surely not on a chalkboard that you see every time you go outsid to replensh your veg stocks.
Harp - you haven't? You've never seen potato's, or potatoe's advertised? Nor tomatoe's or grape's? Gosh!
PB for me, I just typed a grid word.
my icon is now officially naughty.....
Muchroom's is another one I've seen. LOL. That mistake must be partly due to all the Dad jokes.
No, I see it all the time, just hadn't heard the phrase "greengrocer's apostrophy" I knew right away what you mean!
Blooming heck, Harp! Is that tomorrow's theme. Excuse me while I go and open a door to cool off. I seem to be having a hot flush.
well, i'm a bit low on estrogen myself, jac.... the theme is vodka bottles
I'm a bit low on all the hormones, harp, since I am being weaned off my low-dose HRT tablets, but even so. WHEW! *WIPES SWEAT OFF BROW*
...And there was me thinking you were a church-going, harp playing woman.
I can see I'm going to have to resurrect my Jason Momoa in the surf pic to compete. LOL.
It proved to be a brilliant distracter.
is lickety up?
well i AM a church going harp playing woman. i did both of those things today even.....
Yes, mkg
i even quoted psalms and discussed leprosy.,....
Good for you, Harp. I've no idea if Jason Momoa ever featured on a voddie bottle, but I'm going to use him anyway.
Good for you, Harp. I've no idea if Jason Momoa ever featured on a voddie bottle, but I'm going to use him anyway.
any clues for the 9 or 10?
Speaking of leprosy, Harp. Have you ever been to Spinalonga, the former leper colony island just off Crete? Or have you read 'The Island' by Victoria Hislop? I was so peed off when that book came out, because she'd written what I'd already outlined and partly written after going there myself.
clue for to4/6 please
wow, no i haven't but I'll be sure to be irritated if I read it!
slang for clothes aeb
Harp - LOL, but don't be, It's the account I would have done myself if she hadn't got there before me.
mkg the 9 is plural st8, more than one extinct elephant like animal
ty harp...i thought i had put that in....but it wasn't there
mkg - it's not a mammoth or a mastodon.
is it a good book? i've been reading historical fiction about the crusades and am ready for something else
dont know the animal. sorry.
do you have the st8?
harp - it is a good book, but better to read after you've visited the island and felt the souls of all who once lived there. That sounds kind of dramatic, but it's true.
no. no st words yet.
well look for the st8 and then plural it, sounds like a combination of a dinosaur and a mafia boss
Ooh, got it! Thanks, harp and Jac!
i now have st 5 10 and plural and st 5 12. no others.
mkg - try an anagram of 'god notes'.
Jellen - y/w.
jellen, it helps if you think like jac and i do.....but it ONLY helps in Babble!
got it. ty jac.
I find in often helps in real life, too, Harp - which is bizarre to say the least.
Life that is, not the fact that it helps.
i tought of the saurus but this works too i guess.
y/w mkg.
Life is stranger than fiction and far stranger than the internet.
clue for st6/27....please
aeb - st6.27 is starch-laden food.
Rhymes with a beaver's home or a place where skiers sleep.
ty jac
y/w aeb.
i dont see the 10 on lickety.
It's ge 10/98, although I don't have it...
ty found it but now must get the word. any clues out there?
Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, I wonder who saw us, when we dabbled on Babble for words that escaped us?
need ap 5 please.
ap5 is like a chimp.
mkg - you have the ge10 now?
acting monkeyish
no. didnt get the 10. sorry
ty got ap 5
ge10 - first 3 letters of your schooling about the world, add a consonant, then add a word for what a snoop does all around.
ge: i assume you mean subject where you study the world, so got that. then cons not sure. then i know the word. trying.
I really cannot do an easier clue than that.
Keep trying mkg.
ty jac, will keep trying.
Well, thinking about it, the first 4 letters are your schooling word. Then the snoop.
that comes to 9 letters. ge 3 letters, then one more cons. then snoop word is 5. am i correct?
See my last clue, mkg.
ooooooooh.
mkg - are you on slow dial-up or fast broadband on here?
fast.
fast dial-up (which does not exist) or fast broadband?
well still not taking it. 4 letters of the study of the world, then cons. then 5 letters for snooping.
Try adding another vowel before the penultimate vowel, mkg.
i give up. not taking it. the study of world is like magazine "National ****raphic" right?
what is the penultimate voowel?
Haz - aaargh.
mkg - it is the one before the last, mkg.
ok.
well still not succeeding. sorry.
So, the prominent facial feature pluralled, gets a 'definite article' vowel in front of the penultimate vowel.
what? nose isnt in grid. and isnt in this word is it? if so i am way off.
mkg - try 'not your bro' for the ending and then put the 2nd vowel before the last letter.
oh my gosh. i just got it. wow.
Well done mkg. PHEW!
well i was assuming the snoop was the sp 5 word. wow. ty for clues.
I must confess, it took me a while, too...Thanks Jac!
Y/W MKG.8-/
Y/W ALSO jELLEN.
phew is right jac. that was tough.

Never mind, you got there in the end, mkg and so did Jellen.

do5.14 - Shakespearian word for action.

Hi, pipping!
da7 = C12H12N2O2

Google is your friend, look it up.
huh? i am no chemist.
Or do + ***el Mertz
ty ty. got it.
daisy.
mkg, no plural flowers
stumped by the da 7.
da7 is da4/5 plus first numeral
mkg - google the chemical formula I posted.
first part rhymes with what's in an atlas
jac, i will try
sorry, i meant da4/6
mkg - by the way, the words to the song are Daisy, Daisy give me your anwer do, not 'true'.
ok so it is dihydrooxazole. i dont see that in grid.
do 6/21?
'I'm half crazy, all for the love of you'
mkg, do you have the 2nd da4/6?
look again mkg.
pippin - you try.
jellen, add two diminutive vowels after the do4 just before
yes, it rhymes with sa 4 5.
okay perfect mkg - now add the first numeral after that and you're good
Thanks, pipping
and then you can pluralize too
dihydroo etc. sorry but that is what it says. i dont see anything else.
mkg - combine the da4/6 with number ***, two, three and that's the word
well stumped by da 7 36 still. dont get it at all.
Daisy song was written by Harry Dacre in 1892 and very popular in English musica halls...There is a flower Within my heart, Daisy, Daisy! Planted one day By a glancing dart, Planted by Daisy Bell! Whether she loves me Or loves me not, Sometimes it's hard to tell; Yet I am longing to share the lot - Of beautiful Daisy Bell! Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do! I'm half crazy, All for the love of you! It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage But you'll look sweet upon the seat Of a bicycle made for two. We will go 'tandem' As man and wife, Daisy, Daisy! 'Peddling' away Down the road of life, I and my Daisy Bell! When the road's dark We can both despise P'licemen and 'lamps' as well; There are 'bright lights’ In the dazzling eyes Of beautiful Daisy Bell! Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do! I'm half crazy, All for the love of you! It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage But you'll look sweet upon the seat Of a bicycle made for two. I will stand by you In 'weal' or woe, ["weal" means prosperity] Daisy, Daisy! You'll be the bell(e) Which I'll ring you know! Sweet little Daisy Bell! You'll take the 'lead' In each 'trip' we take, Then if I don't do well, I will permit you to Use the brake, My beautiful Daisy Bell!
ty got da 7 and 8.
yay mkg!
but i still never saw that in the chem. formula search.
so now need do 6 21 please.
do 6/21 adds 2 vowels to the do4 before it
I'll let pippin clue that for you, mkg.
Good clue pippin.
where are they added pip?
ugh. got home from work early and fell asleep for a couple hours and now i don't think i can sleep!
go 8/50, please?
mkg, put them right on the end - if it were a little kid you'd make its name cuter
jellen - another use the word before it, make it superlative
The most stupid or bigger than a duck like, Jellen.
too difficult a grid. time for sleep. night all.
Bless you, pip!
night mkg
got it.
'Night mkg. Dormez bien.

another unword, jellen - yiddish
My son, despite being 'on the internet' for a couple more years than me, has just discovered all the redneck videos, bth real and spoof. He's been laughing out loud for 2 days now.
like wink wink nu*** nu*** but with a double vowel in the middle
Thanks again!

Me? I prefer to dance to the Yeti song with an old family friend.
