Hi to my fellow babblers!How is everyone doing today
It was very bad but now that he's doing so well I can face how much worse it could have been. He's alive, it wasn't his head or his spine, it was one leg instead of both, and he will be OK. It doesn't hurt anymore and he's over the trauma, even wants to make a book so other kids can learn about not running into the street. His leg is weak but that's just muscles and it'll build back over the coming months, and he has scars but none of us care.

Kids need more guidance now than ever. There is a rash of incidental parents out there who think the school systems will raise their kids for them. I work at a police department. Believe me, we see the products of absentee parenting all the time.
Administration is usually top heavy to say the least, my friend just lost her job with the board of ed and she had been there for 38 years

best of all, we grew the greens, so they were harvested right before cooking
we also have a nice crop of collard greens, but can't give them away as neighbors are not crazy about greens

collards are so lovely, though - brasied, steamed, boiled, blanched then sauteed with onion/garlic/hot pepper and finished with vinegar and salt

it helps that the church I attend has broadcasts so I don;t miss much sermon-wise...or as they say, teachings...
I dont think our church would ever do that....I do listen to the local CHristian radio staton that I enjoy.

my family was "forced" into attending when we were kids...I don't have much of a guilt trip nowadays when I miss...there are more contemporary services at some Catholic churches

my paycheck is certainly getting sucked out for premiums now -Im just afraid it will cost me more to give the underprivileged free health care - not that I dont think they need it also. Many of us work solely for healthcare

I work with many underprivileged people and they- and their children deserve care. Massachusetts has affordable state plans now. There needs to be a government plan for those that want it.

Yes it is a shame. I am in New Hampshire. It kills me that they spent millions to advertise the census this year - that money could have gone to the underprivileged. Why did the government feel they needed to spend that money on advertisement. Foolish!

yes, the thing is to get the acids neutralized. ginger worked wonders for me.
luckily my all-day sickness (morning sickness is such a misnomer) alleviates after the first trimester, or at least it did with my first two
so. I think Mother is hungry. we should go find a place to eat. Back one of these days.

my concern, as a parent of a child with chronic health problems is that when he is no longer eligible for our insurance, where will he get the care he needs if he, like so many young people starting out doesn't work for an employer with comprehensive health coverage? (((hugs cross on his way out)))

One concern that I do have is that at the moment government reimbursement rates to docs for services under medicare often aren't keeping up with actual co5 to the docs and some docs are dropping service to those patients. I would like to see a provision that corrects this problem. But I haven't (obviously) had a chance to look at any of this legislation.
