All I could think of was Bonneville
only 2 more co's
I want "column"

I believe the mountain lion is also an older woman dating younger men
ty ursh
thanks, btw
and Bonneville is the most known...it was a field trip in elementary school
yw
need more help with the dam clue
In "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," Reepicheep said one of these sang over his cradle
I googled it

You might have to do quite a lot of that -- lots of unheard-of words this time.
Have you got Lickety's list up?

Hi katie

Sprite, I know you have just started , but I wondered if you had finished yet?
lol 23 here and feeling like an elephant in a broom closet.
sorry for repeating -
bad bad sandy! Teasing me huh.
it's ok sandy chog stalled for me too
me? never!
hiccup at 2 am grid time!
it's 3 pm here and the warm sunny day is starting to cool
8am here and I'm wondering what I am doing up
9 am here and enjoying your company and my fight with this grid
have been watching Jessica Watson come into the Sydney heads on tele- 16 year old girl sailed non stop around the world
wow she did it.
so inspiring - bad for me as I have shallow tear ducts! I always cry my eyes out at these things
oh lovely sandy. Why not? Let it flow.
LOL I am so bad - it runs in the family , my brother and father are the same
in real life , I'm quite heartless
hey you are now talking to the person who cried when Dumbo was taken from his mum. And I was an adult then.
one 6 down here as well, Katie
I also have one 6 (Sprite has 7)
Hello all
hi lyn :)
hi lyn
*slaps sandy peacefully on the back of her head*
lol Sprite is just trying to build our confidence
trying to build a grey grid
I've got 3! (including the animal that I am quite sick of hearing about)
wtg lyn! And now I need to know which animal that is and why hearing about it makes you sick...
just got that animal lyn
co6.30 aka older single woman
as long as you are not one yourself lyn
ahhhh ok! See, some meanings one only learns here.
oh thats the one I got
that makes 2! My other one is related to the number 4
does anyone have all three ru 4/words? I cannot find the third one...
not here only got one
only one so far, shealeigh, but looking now
One might say I was the other co6.30 (well not really)
got it- thanks!
see? Asking is finding, more often than not :) Wtg shealeigh.
lol if its the one i think, I don't feel too co6/30 today either
other co6? Ok lyn, the one I found was an animal... feline.
ohhhh got it, thanks
you both are beautiful.
phantom" courgette
I'm a mess from crying after the event on tele - it lasted for hours
wow good one lyn.
did you see Jessica come in , Lynx
no Sandy
past halfway mark
I don't know if I could let my 16 year old do that!
ah another 6. 4 down now, 3 to go.
lovely song on tele --la la places I remember - some have gone and some remain ....la la ...in my life I loved them all....I love that song
not good for the shallow tear ducts tho
sing it, sandy!
...of people and things...
There are places I remember all my life, Though some have changed Some forever, not for better Some have gone and some remain. All these places have their moments Of lovers and friends I still can recall Some are dead and some are living In my life I loved them all. And with all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you And these mem'ries lose their meaning When I think of love as something new And I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them. In my life I loved you more. And I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them. In my life I loved you more In my life I loved you more
I think I better watch Nightmare on Elm Street or something equally bad
i still only have 17 *sigh*
The Beatles
aw Haz :)
it's such a beautiful song
it is a great song
It IS a lovely song. Good morning/evening all.
morning haz
hah sandy, you know what brought that to your mind, don't you? Cruger... Kruger... the grid did it!
a good morning to you, Haz
hi Haz
Hello - it's bright and sunny so far, let's hope it stays that way!
Mari are you reading the chog yet?
my love took me for a mini canoe trip yesterday, in that lovely weather. Did me a world of good, even though physically it was costly.
LOL I showed Nicky that you put the words up of the song - she asked me "Can she hear us?"
lol!
How lovely Sprite
us too haz, I keep wearing summer clothes and then realising I'm freezing half way through the day
Sprite Im glad you are getting better, but canoeing can be strenuous
Good morning/evening. Sunny day here and I ahve been pootling around in the garden for the last hour.
hey FM!
Good morning, FM.
Hi Mitch
morning FM. Come poot round our garden I only every manage to kill things
morning FM
Hello spritey sprite and Haz and Katie and lynxx and sandy and all.
Been watering and tying up rambling roses and supervising the birds and ... *happy sigh*
we used to canoe a lot before I went into bad mode, sandy. In open canoes. We were out for maybe an hour and I loved it. Birds on the water, peace and quiet, lots of tiny little ducklings. And Terra on my lap, making it hard to paddle but easy to smile!
a fly is on the screen, I'm trying to poke it with the little arrow
Supervising the birds? Do you do nest inspections and things?
silly sandy :D
lol sandy
Glad Mitch is relaxing after her energetic week (you know what I mean) Those thongs can take it out of you!
oh did FM do the thong song?
ha ha Haz, I am trying to get them to queue up in an orderly manner for morning bath time but they just won't co-operate.
I have 3 of the co 6's but am missing a 4th..help!
They can't be British birds, FM. British birds would know how to queue.
good grief shealeigh, you are going strong! I only have the 2 mentioned earlier.
We had a canoe at one stage - I like canoeing too Sprite and I know what you mean about the peacefulness
sandy is just teasing me (again).
sandy? Teasing? You must be mistaken, surely.
I never tease
This is the strangest gid for wierd words that I have seen in ages.
I have a 3rd co6 - co**mn + opp of stay
It's certainly a contrast to yesterday's, that's for sure.
isn't it just.
Remember the quote by Gertrude in Hamlet "Methinks the lady doth protest too much"
My inability to spell helped greatly, that and my monkeys.
thanks for that one, Chrissie, new for me!
brilliant line, isn't it sandy.
me too sprite, it was in the chog earlier
I love shakesphere - every line is brilliant
hey that is funny. A co6 (as clued by Chrissie) is a flying le5.
and I guess that le5's have fe5's too.
cool, thanks FM :)
:)
ty for the le5 sprite!
yvw
love your icon, Chrissie.
There is a fish in the grid today! A real one, not one to be slapped with.
ty sprite, he makes me smile
me too!
first letter FM?
That is one happy elephant! t Chrissie
the snaky one?
co6.24 starts like the cat, ends like actor *** Marvin
no a fish shaped fish sprite.
ah good that is the 4th co6 then. Thanks.
33 left
*giggles at fish shaped fish* The snaky one is better for slapping though, FM.
ty lynx
24 left here. You can do better, sandy.
*slaps spritey with the snakey one as she is being so clever* :))
lollllllllllllll
LOL sprite, you must have been cooking dinner, going canoeing, washing the dog in between doing the grid for you not to have finished
that fly is back, i'm poking it again
so little respect for my hard work at the grids...
none left here *uses some of Atas smugness that she left lying around in the PB* Mind you I have been up since 5.30 Le sigh :(
wtg FM on finishing, and blegh on being up so very very early.
this morning we had the window blind down and it was very dark and I didn't wake up til 9.30am - usually get up at 7
It seems to be the time of choice that my body wants to wake up - the mind follows about an hour later.
It's those birds. Dawn ablutions are to be abhorred.
horses were grumpy for their feeds
ear plugs. Did I mention ear plugs?
Oh sandy, can't remember the last time I slep in until anything after 8.30. LOL Haz
me neither Mitch, I was shocked, I couldn't believe it- I guess I needed the sleep
sleeping in, neglecting the horses, being slow with the grid... what's with you today, sandy? Need another session with the snaky ones?
Snaky ones??
yeah the snakelike fish
*snort* not going to type what I was thinking re yr post sprite.
oooh! the slimiest ones
have got that one
*grin* too bad, FM, I'd love to know!
yup, those!
(Mitch has "that sort of thing" on the brain)
Okay, time for me to take a break, I'll be back later. Bye for now!
*mutter mutter from the gutter*
bye for now, Haz
bye Haz
my mind is in the gutter - I blame sandy. Bye HAz, I am heading out soon to.
bye haz, loved those words
Good morning everyone. Nice bright morning here.
Oh! See you are all going.
morning Sally
hello sally
Morning Sally, isn't it lovely to see the sun!
not me, Sally, I still need 19
hi Sally
FM, was reading back in the chog about your morning excursions. Had to get up very early this morning because I have a new hen settling in, and sat in the chicken run from 6am to 7am. Was glorious! Wall to wall bird song.
My LAST word is not in the dictionary, is NOT in Morewords and I am totally stumped...The puzzle is not solvable!!!!
lovely sally - we have chooks also
Sally, why do new hens need hensitting? (never had chickens, so very curious)
I am not often up that early but it's wonderful in the countryside.
How splendid Sally, I love the first visit to my garden each morming to see what the day holds.
the others sometimes peck the new one Sprite
which starting letter and length, shealeigh?
lol, sprite. It was a new one I introduced last night and just had to make sure she wasn't being attacked.
oh I see, pecking order not yet established. That makes sense, thanks.
also it's nice to see them exploring the new environment
Nicky is harrassing me
Absolutely right sprite.
Nicky rocks
You need to establish the pecking order sandy :-)
F-I-R-W-O-R-K-S!!!!!! Now I can sleep! This was the HARDEST puzzle!
woweeeee shealeigh! Well done!
Congrats shealeigh
Congrats Shealeigh
Ty <bows, yawning>
small grids are often nasty. Sleep well!
You got that elusive last word then shealeigh! I'm not evey half way yet.
the word wasd not elusive at all- I just had the wrong letter count on it! How dumb of me!
6s all found :D
There are some real doozys Sall inc the xy5/26
Actuall there are more wierd words than normal ones today, not to put you off or anything.
There's an xy?! Haven't listed yet.
I will count normal vs. odd for you....hang on....
am not using the list yet, but have opened a2z
and a yl -
dont have the yl yet
yup, I wilted when I say someone mention it earlier today as the only xy I could think of was xylophone.
I did find yesterday's very long!
we have had that x and y words in grids before
I remember a 600 grid
YEsterdays v todays grid - the sublime to the rediculous.
Actually, there are only *30* weird words- the rest are just hard to find....
loved yesterday's. 81 Hs and all normal words.
lol shealeigh
595 (tendancy to exagerate)
Well, nitey-nite....see you all tomorrow...same flip time, same flip station....
Now if only you'd clued the xy as "a compound tissue in vascular plants that helps provide support and that conducts water and nutrients upward from the roots, consisting of tracheids, vessels, parenchyma cells, and woody fibers" I'd have got it in an instant
sleep well shealeigh
bye shea
lol Sally
thnxs <yawn and poof>
*sigh* must go and get dressed, want to get shopping done and then be at local Horticultural Society plant sale that opens at 10am. HAppy Babbling and I'll prob be back later.
hmmmmm, nearly 'wine 0'clock'
bye Mitch take care
bye FM, have a grand day
Byeee
Enjoy the sale, FM
Think I will feed the horses a bit early and then have a wine - be back later
bye for now sandy
sandy, that is bad.
Feeding them extra late in the morning and extra early in the evening... they may get a colic or something!
(found a wood fairy)
TY Sprite. Down to 18 but getting a bit bored BBL perhaps. Bye
beginning with?
bye for now lyn, and sandy
dr, sally
and same word without the r is valid too
ty sprite *looking*
Got it!
yay :)
I do like clues which make me think, and give the meaning, rather than spelling the word out practically :-)
oh yes so do I. But sometimes it is hard to think of a good clue, for me anyway.
fireflies! Demanding grid. But wonderful company. Anything I can help with before I go?
No thanks sprite, but congrats as always. Just quietly chuntering on here.
good feeling, chuntering on. Good luck Sally, and thanks. See you soon!
bye sprite
Got there finally, so I'm off too. May pop back later to chat.
Chuntering on? You do and you'll clean it up!
lol, stil had chog open Douglas. Different meaning in USA?
That's a new word to me. Meaning "patiently soldering on, even though one isn't nearly as clever as sprite?"
Not that there's anything wrong with that. Most people aren't nearly as clever at Babble as sprite
I think uou meant soldiering, not soldering! Yes, that's what it means. Nice word, isn't it, but probably not in Enable.
One, two.......Freddy's coming for you!!!!!
hi movieman - quiet here today
i'm down to my last 6
Hey mm - already for kick off? Hi JBV
hi FMitch
'fun' grid today ?!?
Certainly am Mitch........go go Blues!!!!!
Good morning everyone. 74 words! On a weekend day?
Fingers crossed mm, but can't help feeling for Portsmouth.
Morning Scrabs - it has bite and some strange words even for enable.
These small grids always introduce me to new words.
hi scrabbler
How are you, JBV?
ok, scrabs, counting down the days to retirement
how about you, you had a tooth extracted?
Oh wow, wtg JBV, what plans do you have?
Really? When is your last day? And then what?
yes, I decided, July 1 - then a little breathing room before I make any decisions or commitments -
plan #1 - relax, plan #2, make a list of things to do,
How great!
plan # 3 - think about the list.....
etc.
hi, all :) congratulations, JBV! sounds great..
Nope, tooth will be saved, I hope. 2 small cracks were seen--caused pulpitis + dying nerve. Part 1 of root canal procedure was 5/7, part 2 is 5/18. I had intense pain for a few days before and after.
hi Nancy Boy!
job is quite stressful, and I am needed at home, so it was an easy decision
Wow, JBV!
Hi NB! How are you doing?
oh, sorry to hear about the pain but glad the tooth can be saved
Hi NB
hi, Scrabbs! I'm great thanks - exhausted after last night, though. Friday I have back to back shifts...I'm getting jealous of JBV ;)
hi, FM! :)
no jealousy allowed - youth is its own reward -
I am not sure if I will ever retire. I work part-time as it is and have a nice schedule.
I am on call--started yesterday at 5 and ends Monday at 8.
so they say, JBV ;)
part-time is great - I may be able to pick up some work on a consulting basis if I feel I need the income, but right now I just want the free time
I can vouch for the joy of maternity leave. I'm entering my 27th year and haven't tired of it.
lol Haz
I'm easing myself towards retirement.
great, Haz!
I really only work part time now since I moved and it is utter bliss.
I started working (summers) when I was 12, full time at 21, two years off with baby, so adding it all up, it's a long stretch
sounds it FM - I don't think there's any greater joy than waking up and knowing the day is yours!
I think I won't feel it until September when everyone is going back to school and I'm at home playing Babble!
But I have put in my years of work to get to this point NB so never be complacent :)
I retired in March and now just do sick and holiday cover - best job I've ever had!!
haha...I don't have the time to be complacent ;)
Hi JFB
I agree, FMitch, my father used to tell me the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper, comes back to me now, the wisdom of the fables - work does pay off in the end
hi JFB -
the J twins are here - I'm sure we will confuse everone :)
Hi Haz & JFB
Hello, Scrabbler.
Scrabbs, just scrolled back - that business with your teeth sounds eye-wateringly painful. Better now, I hope?!
It was quite painful for 3 days before + 3 days after the procedure. At times I was shaking + ready to puke. I almost finished off 2 bottles of pain meds in those days.
Well, I found 14 words and am stuck.
oh my god, that sounds awful :( I sincerely hope you're on the mend now...don't like thinking of people in that sort of pain!
Tum is rumbling, time for lunch so back in a bit.
It made me appreciate what people with chronic pain issues endure.
Bye FM
I guess what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, huh?
Pain & challenges reveal our strength.
that's awful, scrabs, sorry to hear you had to go through that
It's "just a tooth." A short-term issue...that will cost $2300. That is the other pain.
quite! hmmm...guess I'd better go get up and go to work. They won't be impressed with my morning hair ;) see you later, all!
scrabs, we have been living with hubby's chronic pain(s) for a while and it is truly amazing how he copes and carries on - amazing inner resources
Bye NB. Get that hair looking gorgeous!
bye, NB!
oh, little one!
JBV, that is exactly what I thought of--some people endure chronic severe pain, and it is distracting, agitating, + exhausting.
*performs shampoo-advert hair-flick for Scrabbler's benefit*
Hi Feather! I am up to 22--toughie as usual for small grids.
oh boy
just got fireworks!
Woo hoo, JBV!!
must go get food. very non-functioning right now.
but it's also true that if you can distract yourself with other things, you can forget about the pain for a while - that's his way, to not focus on feeling bad, but just pretend that life is normal
I must get ready for work--must see a 3 yr old in the hospital on the way to the office to work from 8-12. Kid will probably go home--was dehydrated.
I did become somewhat accustomed to it, JBV, but it saps one's energy.
that's nice scrabs, he's probably all rosy and smiley toda
today
Yep, I should be able to send him home this morning.
At 26/48 I must move on. Enjoy the day all!
bye scrabs
rhis grid is quite a contrast to yesterday's...
Time to go again. Bye!
It has gaydar- not a word?
Who knows when Enable is involved Kaplan
back with my first course of lunch, home made prawn cocktail (how retro).
good morning everyone
FMitch, it is only 8 am here but your first course sounds delicious
Morning Mom, slightly overdid the pepper but it was scrummy.
what is the second course?
pork, either with veg and new potatoes or with rice and sweet and sour sauce - haven't decided yet and 2nd course will be in an hour or so at the earliest.
and then some strawberries to finish off later :)
sounds yummy. Will supper be a large feast as well?
Oh heavens no - lunch is the big meal today.
I see
Phone, back in a bit.
bye bye
morning, time for my daily sponsorship message! Please consider donating a buck or two to my classroom project on donorschoose.org: http://bit.ly/b6LUg8

good morning Feather
hiya mom!
hi all
Feather, is the FlyLady still working for you?
Hijmcnrick
goodness feather good thing nobody much was talking or you pitch would be seen by anyone!
aside from the lurkers it is just the three of us here
and i already gave at the office
hmmm this is going to be a monkey intensive grid
I have it up on the screen, haven't read it yet
i best be going to the garden like i planned
bbl
have a good day jmcnrick
had to deal with dueling time outs! back now
ehh, i still love flylady, but don't follow it to the T. i do better with it in the summer, when i'm home all the time.
hello everyone
weed, what is flylady?
I'm a little panicky about my project, I messed up when creating it and put the expiration date for sept. 28th, which means that i won't likely get any funds from "strangers" until september. which means i won't complete it for this group of kids. so i'm trying to promote it a lot.
www.flylady.net it's a system for organizing and cleaning and keeping on top of the clutter in your house
feather, I tried to open your site and it would not open...how can I get an address?
that tinyurl didn't work?
http://bit.ly/b6LUg8
i googled it, it came up at the top and i am looking at it now
Oh lordy Hi all. I hate FLylady!
I like the systems, but I have a hard time with her saccharine sounding sort of condescending tone.
i like some of the "tricks" in it. still will use a timer to motivate myself!
will try again---be right back...If I am on Babble Expert I can open it---be right back...I am so computer illiterate
ugh, connection issues this morning! finally made it back good morning {{Red}} and {{Annie}}
*cant
ahhh, lol. i ignore that. also, never ever opt in for the emails, or you'll have a whole new kind of clutter in your email box!
the systems are excellent.
I really did have trouble with the volume of emails. especially the ones that would be asking if I was wearing shoes...or in bed yet.
my mom's gotten into it gung ho. she has a whole binder, and an iphone app, and everything
your Mom is awesome feather!!!
brb, must release the inmates
I get the daily email still but I opted for only getting the one email. Made it so much easier
lol, well yeah, i knew that already red!
:)
feather, nope, I cant open it...it is me..not the system...It is http://bit.ly/6LUg8...is it not?
one inmate let himself out on early parole, so is now back in the clink, with time added for some major attitude. the other inmate helped himself to a lollipop he found in his room and is very happy.
annie, when I am on Bab ex, i diminish it and open firefox separately
hang on annie, i'll get another link
then just google flylady
Or just clean your house and avoid flylady!
http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/pro posal.html?id=390984

LOL
annie, are we FB friends? i have a link on my page.

I've wanted one for ages, I take a lot of pictures of stuff on beaches
ooo lovely Dan
EVVVVVVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *sneak!glomp*
canon has got a lens that just makes me drool little bit. It's so expensive, and I wouldn't use it nearly enough to justify the expense, but its a 5:1 macr lens
wtf is a glomp?
it's a *glomp*!
a glomp sounds like a lump of goo
would I stick glue all over you? *gasp*
goo even!
yes...i think you would!
true :D
v, to glomp NOT sexual, it is the action of one person lovingly (and dramatically) attacking another with a hug.
how did glomp go sexual already. did the grid corrupt it?

picked a tough one to finish!
short one too :)
lol, good point
ok, well sorry to leave you in the lurch, but i need to go mow. will bbl to clue!
Hello again everyone. Home from work now.
Hiya, Scrabbs!
Hi Judi
I am under the front trees watching the birds visit the 7 feeders. A tufted titmouse was just staring at me 6 ft away.
idylic, scrabs
Hi Bo. Yes, I wish it were warmer--63, sun peeking in and out. So I am sipping hot tea.
Sounds lovely..
will push 90 here
hi Judi
I saw my 1st hummingbird of the season--heard him first, then found him--sitting on a branch, staring at me as if to say, "Uh, I'm here, where is my feeder?" I went inside, made the sugar solution + hung up the feeder--waiting for his return.
And I have found just 28 words--very tough grid.
Wow, Bo--hot day!
You seem to have several birds staring pointedly at you, Scrabbs. Very soon little tiny bricks will start to rain on your head from the branches above.
Hey, Bo!
They may conspire against me, especially if they don't have enough food.
6 of my grands here this weekend, they can get out to let off steam :)
Is there a pool nearby?
Afternoon babblers!
unfortunately not - but they have fun anyway
Hi Red! How are you doing?
hi red
How old are your grandchildren, Bo?
I am alright. How are you Scrabbler?
13, 12, 10, 6, 4, 2.5
bo you must be feeling busyt his weekend.
Cold outside, but it is overall nice and I want to be outside. 63 isn't quite warm enough.
Spread out ages, Bo--challenges + joys at every age.
got to load clothes dryer brb
86 here Scrabbler, slight breeze, spent the morning in the pool.
I had no calls overnight + slept well. I saw 1 kid at hospital this AM and discharged him. Was in office 8:30-12 and am on call til Monday 8 AM. T minus 41.5 hrs.
on call can not be fun.
good morning all
hi tea.
small but tough grid, I am not even half way yet!
Finito! Finished! Finality! Fireworks!
super congrats Judi!!!!
Must go commence drudgery now. Laundry looms on the horizon.
Lost my wireless signal when I moved my chair--back with you again. Congrats Judi!
*POOF* until tomorrow!
Scrabbs you have had some great kayak adventures already this eyar?
Yesterday was a bit scarier than I prefer--some big waves/rapids and a near-capsize.
I would have been terrified, I am not much of a boater of any kind.
I had to watch for rocks/boulders and to keep the kayak perpendicular to waves + water flow.
My Adirondack baseball cap flew off and was gobbled up by the churning water. :-(
good thing you were able to navigate everything safely!
ok I am going to take some water out of the fish tank for the plants, and clean the tank sides a bit...
Yes, it was challenging.
BBL
Bye Red
Anybody left?

Hi tc

Hi Scrabbler

Dr4! It is just too cold to stay outside--going in.
why isn't aglum a word
Yeah! I am aglum at not being able to stay outside.
there's an x word too
maybe i should have played pandemic instead
I opened the list and am STILL stuck. Just saw xy5 and monkey is struggling.
Is Pandemic a word game?
Does anyone have the 2 MU5/16?
If it is I have never heard of it
Aha, I see xy5 now! Part of a plant.
xy and the first three letters of a ctrus fruit
it's a strategy game, infect the world and win
Where can I look at that game?
mu5/16, my and most of the word for centre of an apple
kongregate games
mu not my, sorry
TY Jacq
Stupid question. How do you know you need another "ag 5" or something
y v w
Thanks got them both from that one.
Scroll down below tile stats and click on Lickety's Babble Clues--an invaluable aid!
you need to look at the list on lickety's babble clues, the link is at the bottom of the page
Hi DD + Minski
minski, can you point me in the direction of the other please?
click on the link for lickety's babble clues below. open it in another window so you can see both at once
nm i got it
Greetings Scrabbler.
ta5 anyone?
wow
I was late for school today and was marked ta5
Lickety Split is the husband of Babbler mrp.
I mean MrPresident--a woman.
TA5 is late
scrabbler can i ask you a med question please?
Grr, I thought that was a phantom, like tart and tarty. TY
Of course, Jacq.
what is the recovery time for a double mastectomy and reconstruction? and what levels of pain are involved
Well, I am a pediatrician, Jacq, but I would estimate 6-8 wks for most major operations. And much better after 2-3 wks.
well enough to look after a 3 year old alone?
Not for the first 2-3 wks.
ok ty dear
Toddlers + preschoolers are quite demanding and need close supervision + assistance.
nods, she is demanding and likes cuddles
I was told reconstruction was done as a seperate procedure
no this will be done at the same time
afer healing from the 1st
And little kids need to be lifted + carried a lot.
hi Pug
hi
My friend had both 2 mo ago.
Hi Pugmama
at the same time?
guess it depends on the doctor
how was she?
My friend had a simple mastectomy (skin left on breast), nodes dissected in axilla, and reconstruction begun.
it maybe depends on the type of surgery
She went back to work in 2 wks and her kids are 16, 13, 10 + 8.
mine is bilateral, skin and nipple saving with nodes removed
Oh, honey, this is you we are discussing?
yes
oh dear so sorry to hear that
it's prophylactic
i'm only worried about the pain afterwards
((Jacq))--now I am crying. When is surgery?
might be in my future as well ,I understand...
Oh, no cancer? Phew! BRCA (+)?
please don't get upset, it isn't a bad thing, after this i won't have to worry about anything
BRCA?
Pugmama, have you been treated for breast cancer in past?
i have clusters of fibroadenoma thats all
thats the gene test right ?
Gene that has been identified in women with strong family history of breast (and ovarian) cancer.
have to go eat something will be back later, please don't worry it is a blessing
Bye Jacq
hugs all round and thank you for the advice
no but many cysts removed they didnt like the looks of strong family history both sides & Ashkenazi heritage
Aha. Did you have gene testing?
Dr wanted me to have the gene test but I wasn't cover & couldn't afford it but I will be able to very soon
very costly
Is there a cancer center near you?
not really sure
clue for co 6/30 pls
The last co6/30 = feline or older woman preying on younger male
Cancer Treatment centers of America have one in Philly but thats quite a hike from here
Pugmama, I saw where you live--consider major medical ctr in Philly, or Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC, for expert advice + care.
If I got a positive on the gene test you bet I will!!!
but will wait til I have the $ and get the test B4 I worry too much
hey scrabs. spent a few hours in the ER last night with the stidkid who gets MRSA... cellulitis on his face. *sigh* glad I checked on him before I went to sleep at midnight -- what looked like a manageable problem at 9 had gotten worse fast.
gene test? are you ill pugmama? *scans chog*
we were talking of breast cancer risk
oh golly. (pugmama) (jacq)
Hasn't he had MRSA infections before? Those abscesses can develop quickly--drainage is key.
heavily pissed in gene pool here
it's worrisome. I have a mammogram scheduled for the first monday in June... I get lumps too. So far, nothing cancerous though.
yes, he has had MRSA before. Scars left behind, too. I am just glad this was on his face where it was visible. Otherwise, he wouldn't have noticed it.
was SO carefull getting regular mamos but the cysts only show up on MRI & ultra sounds
Bactrim ordered by the ER doc; will followup Monday with regular doc. Not like I had anything else to do, right?
They usually do ultrasound on me, too. Just to be on the safe side. Personally, I'd rather they started with that -- mammograms HURT.
what a shame Stid
I'm done. Very fist time every I finish a puzzle.
anyway... when I get back from a visit with Mother, will this grid be a welcome relief from grading papers and writing other papers?
YAY Dog!!!!
less traumatic than a girl with facial scarring however-men are just not judged by looks as much
Yay DD!!!! Isn't it exciting?!
Is abscess draining yet, Stid? Antibiotic will not penetrate abscess.
That's true pugmama -- I am hopeful that we can avoid big scars this time -- it's on the cheekbone under the eye. But it's not a big deal really if there is one.
yahoo Dag!
Apply hot compresses often.
No abcess, Scrabs. just cellulitis.
Oh, MRSA usually causes abscesses--boils.
He actually put hot compresses on it once I noticed it, hoping to get an abscess, but that just seemed to spread the infection.
OY !
Is acne triggering this?
ah well. Kids. I am really learning a lot. And yes, I think acne was the start here, I noticed him playing with a pimple in that area a few days ago. He doesn't have bad acne, but it only takes one, right?
clue for co 4/7
Any opening in skin (pimple, burn, bug bite, scratch) = entry point for bacteria.
I need it too, Boo '
anyway.... I have read him the riot act (again) about skin care, NOT trying to pop pimples, etc etc ... and taking it seriously when something is out of the ordinary.
Aha, co + Not telling truth = **ing.
I am so far down to 74... LOL.
BRB, must find snack + more tea.
Will stop hogging the chog with my mama rant. (((Hugs everone))) thanks for confirmation of this scrabs.
Will keep on keepin' on and see you again soon. *Poof*
nasty wee grid with big teeth !
bye stid
interesting chog today.. I hope everyone turns out fine
Hi DR. I haven't seen you in a long time. Been here? OK?
I have not been around much. Life gets in the wa of computer games sometimes
We are all good here. Same kid, same hubby... looking forward to summer
Yes, life gets in the way of life.
how are youScrabs?
speaking of...must walk dogs & then Vac UGH!
Tired today--worked + on call til Monday 8 AM.
have a happy all! POOF!
Ugh ! Pugmama... I just came in from weeds and roses
Bye pugmama
Bye Pugmama
I am tired now. Will be taking Jake to karate in a bit then tonight we are going to see a play
I need a break. 21 for later.
evening all - anyone happen to be an expert on iTunes?!
nope- sorry Nancy boy
clue for cu 4/7
no problem - will try and muddle through alone ;)
cu**inate
Boo- just make a square with the grid
what's the problem,Nancy
Sorry NB, I don't know anything about it at all.
ty
weeell, I just bought a new laptop, and I'd like to put all the songs from my old itunes library into THIS itunes library. impossible?!
If you have external hard drive or jump drive you can ransfer from old lappy to new, then open iTunes and import songs.
doesn't it have something where you can import the songs
If no external memory is available, you can transfer them over the network, provided they are sharing the same internet. This is much more slow and may involve changing some settings to share your information over the network.
Uniquity...I'm far from being computer literate. Not much clue what you just said ;) should I not be able to do it by simply plugging in the ipod?
that's what I thought, Boo - can't seem to find one :S
let me look on mine and see if I can help
I don't use iPods as I haven't the inclination for brands..you might be able to though, as long as all the songs you want are on the iPod. Might depend on if it's Mac or PC though as to how you do it. Google will know though, if iPod manual doesn't.
AH. I might have figured it out...
hi all
ah, so where do you find a non-branded mp3 player, Uniquity? ...make your own? ;)
Good luck, I'm going back to my movie!
I'd like to sync my iTouch from my laptop, too, but haven't had much success...
Hey NB...I am just thinking...couldn't you set your library up on a share thing (don't know the exact wording) and then import it from there since it's shared?
I love iPods Pini, but apple don't make it easy! ;)
no, they sure don't, NB!!!
I know you can have your iTunes set upon on different computers (up to 5 I think), but I've not figured out to make the original upload sync with the current without losing what's on the iTouch if I d/l - make sense?
NB...if you figure it out, plz let me know!
home sharing
I haven't turned my desktop on since I got my laptop (last September)
I'm not sure Ormal...don't know how one would go about doing that! seems to be the way though - have now googled some shady online instructions and am seeing where they lead¬
hello all, just back from the Jersey shore. I bought beach tags. Beautiful day down there but the traffic on the way home was horrendous!!
hi peri
Hey Pini, how are you, hoave not seen you in a while
I've been around here/there...been busy at work (it's the Spring term and graduation is in 3 weeks)
spring term is busiest of the year
ok, I bought a new car. It rides very well and is quieter than my old one
congrats, peri!!!
what'd you get?

He is just fine, NB :)
I'm tryin', Peri...not sure if I'm being successful yet...they weather's turning nice and, although it's busy at work, I would sure rather be outside!!!
nice, peri...Honda's are good :)
how are you doing today/tonight,. NB?
not too bad thank you - wrestling with the demon iTunes. Reeeeally want to avoid putting my 800+ CDs on one by one, AGAIN, lol
did not use my gas on the trip
I think I'm going to google along with NB for a few minutes...perhaps, looking together, we'll figure it out, NB!
much gas
the driving
Good evening/afternoon everybody. : )
LOL Pini - you take the left side of the internet, I'll take the right?!
hi soodle
bbl, need a rest
...LOL...probably shouldn't laugh to much, it'll probably work!
18 yr old daughter just came into me - with False Eyelashes. She looks like an extra from a Vegas side show....
shalom y'all
getting ready for something special, soodle?
Hey BDG :)
wazaaaaaap??
Oh, Saturday Nite! If not painting the town red, a tasty shade of pink!
pink's not so bad ;)
hi gwen
I am SO glad I am passed false eyelashes. I put one of Sarah's on my upper lip, and did a German Dictator Impersonation - She was less than impressed...
howdee piniii
YESSS! genius. think I've figured it out, Pini - perhaps!
LOL Soodle!
NB, try copy and pasting this link. I think it might help you or lead you in the right direction. I have to go take daughter out. http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-new s/2010/03/
thanks Ormal - take care :)
wait...are you on a MAC or PC, NB?
thx ormal - looking
phantom: dragee
I'm a PC - got it figured now though! bit laborious but feel like I've climbed everest. AND Top Gun is on. Leo isn't here so I guess it's the next best thing ;)
next phantom: gaydar
I'm a PC, too...so I'll take any insight you might have! I'll have to go get my connection cord from the car tho...
okay Pini - you do that then I'll talk you 'my' method :)
ok - brb
hi, mini-break from mowing, anyone need a clue?
no points for raguly???? (hey, it's a real word)
i only need 39 more word 8-(
isn't it an italian pasta type word?
could be, but in english it is descriptive of a branch that has little nubs on it where smaller branches have been cut off
it would be ra6, but not accepted...
ahhh
found it on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_%28h eraldry%29
interesting
heraldic terminology is one of my hobbies
so no immediate clues needed?
back
hi pin
pini, even
clue all the 9s and 10s please LOL
NB...still there?
hi feather!
riiiight. so Pini, you're trying to move songs from the iPod to the iTunes, right?
silly gwen!
ok, then back out to mowing for me. will bbl!
I'd just like to sync what's on my iTouch to the my iTunes account and add the new stuff from my iTunes to the iTouch...
want points for grocum . . .
okay - I think what you need to do is take all the files that you wanna keep off your ipod, and store them on your computer. That way, you can sync your iTouch to your new iTunes and add the other songs later...I think
will start with that, NB
it took me a while to figure out how - couldn't get the songs off my iPod. Doing it now...slowly ;)
(or just make a playlist with the new songs in itunes and then sync that playlist, pini)
Hello Ata. Havent seen you for ages. Heard you had an accident? You ok now?
ripped a ligament in my knee *sigh*
how are you now?
all trussed up in bondage braces :P but ok. can't walk. annoying!
NB...your iPod doesn't have other "apps" on it, right?
sorry to hear, ata, hope it heals quckly
Ata - youve probably thrown all male Babblers into a tizzy!!
not that I know of, Pini! First time for everything though ;)
ok...jumping in with both feet then! (music, pics, and assorted apps)
probably! but it's the only way to describe this thing! It's lots of clips and ties in black material and metal bracing struts all up my leg!
Your enjoying this, arent you, Ata? : )
have to get some amusement out of the situation :P
Yiou
You Go, Girl!!!
it's really very annoying and itchy and painful. But I don't say that!
so, Ata, you are now into bondage?
hospital-enforced bondage, oh yes LOL
so, I need to know - what did you do?
oh, ripped the medial ligament in my knee
very stupidly!

lovely and graceful
I cannot do this grid.....thought it was a cinch
Ditto, ScienceGeek. I am floundering.
oh yes. very artistic. much swearing and slipping. and Hobbit looking on in astonishment!

Ata. is himself looking after you?
she came up straight away and licked my nose. darling girl!
In his own individual way ...

nope, had a horrid HORRID ankle to thigh plaster cast for 2 weeks. now this brace for 4 -5 weeks. Plus a lot of physio
wow! sux to be you - LOL - sorry
lol it's ok. I know!
Ata, my beloved King...15 stone Rothweiller had to be put to sleep last week. I had him 12 years, and he got lame, and the vet said it was bone cancer, and there was no hope. We are all stilll totally devastated.
drink wine
I've just ordered a big lot of books
NO! oh poor Soodle *many many hugs* you must be devastated
oh, soods, sorry
okay I am hating this grid. Will see you all tomorrow. Need to make stuff
*hugs to all*
good plan I think!
Ata, he was Actually. part of the family. It is very very painful. I still find myself putting scraps etc into his bowl, and then I realise....
I'm sure .... I can't even begin to think what I'll feel like when Hobbit eventually goes, it's too painful even to consider! I'm so sorry :(:(
Thank you, Ata. May it be many a long day before Hobbit joins King!
omg I hope so! I do feel for you :( and Hobbit isn't even 1/4 the size, he must have been such a physical presence around you
Hi All - the puzzle is horrible

finding words by monkey only
ditto!
*pops in to say hi*
Hi welki

I've always believed that to be the case, Red. No expert though ;)
NB, I think you know about fish. and thighs, I am not really an expert either.
for a small grid this one is making me feel annoyed.
LOL. I'm a lot better with thighs than I am with fish.

herbeeeeeeeeeeeee
nuttyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
ba-dum-dum!
seemed like a good time for a rimshot
that's a rim shot?
sounds like a rum shot
how would you spell it?
hmmmm. that might liven the place up.
i dunno...i've never spelled percussions out before
'snot easy.
60 sketches due tomorrow, haven't even started yet
yikes! why so many? due where?
due for class
what class are you taking?
Try this: http://instantrimshot.com/
concept development currently
ooooo, thanks tor!
ooooo, my avg virus didn't like that site!
ok, so what exactly is concept development? i'm bored, thus the 20 questions routine.
i'd trust avg, its never led me astray
concept development so far appears to be brainstorming 500,000 ideas and taking one and perfecting it
interesting. there's a class for that? well, apparently so.
there is if you're an art student anyway
been ages since i've caught up with you, didn't know you were now an art student. that's cool.
i always think i'd like to go back and get a photography degree.
they make photography degrees?
seems so. i get ads targeted at me on facebook about it. made the mistake of contacting on, just for curiosity.
i've designed a logo for a broadcasting company so far, am designing one for the family business, and am about to start (hopefully) doing work for the local paranormal society
that's actually how i ended up at art school...darned facebook
they wouldn't stop calling me after. i ended up calling back and telling them that after the way the pestered me and wouldn't leave me alone, there was no way i'd ever consider paying them money for anything!
they're only interested in talking to you until you're enrolled. then you have to hire a private detective to get anything.
that's neat about the logos!
ha
is it an online course, or do you actually go to a real building and everything?
yeah, the logos are fun
Illustrator is a BLAST
its all online, had to do a sculpture for a final in my last class...it was on facebook. did you see it? the wine bottle.
no, gotta go see!
go see then!
ideograph?
yeah
it had to relate the history of type
ooooh, neat stuff!
weird, the instructor keeps passing me over when commenting on assignments...i'm kinda hurt
i thought so, oh, and it had to be a clear sculpture
i like how you put the text inside
and that my friend, was the single most difficult thing i've done so far this year
what was the paragraph on?
on the history of type, starting with pictograph to ideograph to phoenician alphabet etc.
and what do these 60 drawings have to be on? anything? lol, and how did you end up the night before they're due without doing any? (says the self-proclaimed procrastinator extraordinaire)
no, i meant what material
i like the cat and mouse, cool lines in the cat
um, from what i gather, they need to demonstrate how different line shapes, textures, etc give the appearance of say motion, speed, growth, and what not
cat was just me playing with my favorite toy, the vistablet
oooo, neat
we'll see
bored bored bored.
sorry...wanna help me sketch
hello everyone
lol, would love to be able to play with that program!
hi luwanda
program? sketch feather, sketch. you know...pencil...paper.
*reaches arm through computer*
thought the vistatablet was some kind of computer thing, and illustrator
they are, but this assignment calls for sketches. by hand.
i seem to be a little ADD tonight, sorry
sigh. so mundane.
first i need to create 30 emotions with a single line...difficult since i only have two feelings according to the personality test
30 emotions with a single line???? yikes.
not sure i could come up with 30 emotions even
well, one line per emotion i would think
right
too bad it can't be a cursive line spelling the emotion
okay...gimme some emotions gusy
guys
ok!
happy, sad, melancholy
mystefied, bored, lazy
scared, surprised, nervous
taking notes is why i'm not typing...these are goooood
in love, tense, thinking
(running dry now)
i bet i'm allowed to double some up
irate
tired (is that an emotion?), drunk, ohhh, good one, irate
anxious, angry, tired, confused, confident, depressed
maniacal
greedy
hi all, just passing through
good ones pini!
glad you did pini
annoyed

Hello stidmama! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle!
I am missing one of the CO6/30s. I have the large cat. Please help.
Oh, didn't realise you had a sick kid, stid.
he'll be okay. He needs to learn to care for the acne appropriately so he doesn't leave openings for bacteria.

That gy 6/30 word is gy plus an ra4/4 word harpjane
lol, thanks
Oh dear, stid - he's a pizza face? Yes, that does need care and cleanliness.
I actually TAUGHT on Thursday! :-D That was great fun. I much prefer to do things like that than sit in classrooms AS a student.
It's not what you need when you are in your teens and seeking a mate.
rofl jac -- no, he isn't. That's what is so frustrating! With a little more attention to hygiene he would have such LOVELY skin!
And while I am looking for hints........I am missing the CE5 as well.
ce5 is an anagram of a ground digger with a c stuck in there somewhere.
ce 5/14 word is c plus mo 4/5 word backward Minski.

The dr5/18 word is not wet plus not minues harpjane
wood nymph. harp.
got the CO 6
The da 4/5 is 5/15/10. Here is yo 4/7 story of clues for today. It was an ug4/9 grid. I'd ra4/4 this grid a negative 10!Not happy with my monkeys today.First they were ta5/16 and didn't get here until very late Then my monkeys were very unru4/7 and they would not follow any of my ru 4/5s. This enra4/6ed me so I fired them & they da4/5ed out of my ya 4/7 through the ga 4/5. Then I hired a le 5/14 to co 4/6 help me. Actually it was a co6/30 since he kept flying around. He was stubborn as a mu 4/6 and would not budge so I had to dr4/7 him here on a dr4/7. He really did not want to help me today. I was filled with gl 4/6 when I did finish grid. I gave my le 5/14 a tr 4/6 of cookies. Now I have an ur4/7 to do some yo4/8 to calm down.

I'm here off and on,but now I am off to take a shower
I made myself promise I would do some housework before i went to bed, but I babbled instead.....
I am here for the moment, and then will go work on schoolwork a bit
Oh, okay Harp. See you mextt grid then.
Just got back from a four day BUSY trip.....being the lead cow for 31 people.
lead COW?
not tin, or iron, or steel?
<in - see you next grid, too.xx
It's a term of endearment in the west, lol! maybe it should be Copper Cow!
She meant in the forefront, stid.
oh! LOL thanks!
when the Lead Cow gets up, everyone follows.....
no I like stid's definition better!
The lead cow is actually very important n farming terms. If you don't have her co-operation, you're f*cked.
*envisioning a cow of steel, faster than a speeding tornado, able to leap the rocky mountains in a single bound...*
that would have been handy, i would have been home earlier!
I get it now! LOL the head of the pack. "alpha bitch" in dog terms.
And, I might add, the lead cow doesn't have a lot of privacy......
No, sh doesn't, harp.
:-D no, I suspect it's like a mama, they follow you EVERYWHERE!
so. here I am, dragging my feet and NOT getting the reading done.
You got tha right, stid.
what are you reading stid (or rather, what are you NOT reading?)
I am going to do the mature thing and read these texts that are "due" for Tuesday.
It's a book by Elizabeth J Meyer about "GEnder, Bullysing, and Harrassment"
I'm going off to put my cold feet on hapily snoring Other Half's bum now. That's what men's bums are for - warming your feet on. Happy Babbling all.xxx
love it jac!
hi all
sounds like a book worth knowing about stid
It's actually a good book, and not HUGE, the way many have been.
hey jmc
*interested in singing bullies*
we are three months and a week away from our meeting in Olympia!!!
And if I ever do 'grow up', I'll be ashamed of myself forr doing so.
LOL Jac! sweet dreams!
Is this for a presentation or something?
no, just part of the curriculum for the Master's in TEaching.
Ah, good for you and good for the education system for finally addressing bullying!
I am going to B.S. my way through whatever I didn't actually read this week -- I have other tasks that are more pressing, but I am just tired enough that trying to work on the other things is not going to be useful.
I was glad to see this text in the list, actually. Bullying is a personal interest of mine. (almost said hobby...)
Last night in the car, my Special Olympics athletes talked about all the ways they were teased when they were in high school.....
*shock look*
And it is also part of the small directed research project (survey of the literature) I decided to do this quarter.
oh gee, harpjane. yes, that is why it interests me -- my highschool friends who were differnt, and of course my own son with challenges.
They just talk about it as if it is a natural thing, like how old were you when you learned to ride a bike, and how many times a day did you get teased.....
Ah, i forgot about your son.
One guy said his voice sounded funny because of his cleft palate and so they all teased him for being a "fem"
stuff that still hurts 20 years later
you don't have to be too different to be bullied i still remember from 50 years ago
oh, yes, it is all very familiar.
I was bullied and it still hurts me
I was really flat chested until the middle of college so I got teased a lot, but never really anything physical
oh course, it wasn't until "cyberbullying" and the very public problems of popluar kids of well-off parents that it seemed to get the spotlight.
i still bar the toy "cooties" from my house
i am glad it is getting attention for whatever reason
I have read some stuff about teasing, and the "experts" agree that teasing can build relationships, be fun, help people get to know each other, etc.
But the "teeter totter" analogy is the way to tell if it's getting out of hand. If it's done between two people of equal size, status, intellectual functioning, and they are both having fun, then it's okay.
I think there is a difference between good natured teasing, harassment, and bullying. I think those are three separate items with similarities.
teasing is different from bullying
If one person is doing all the teasing, then it's bullying
the first co6 30 , please, a clue perhaps?
hey PAV!
its a flying lemur pav
add an olympic sled with a different last letter
co 6/30: co + baby be***a (whale) + vowel

earlier I was at Mother's without babble expert, and entered the SAME wurd in the grid multiple times because I couldn't figure out why it wasn't adding to the list! LOL
so. I am going to go read, and maybe pick up the younger stidkid from the play he went to.

hmmm rubies are my birthstone
i have no room to talk jill since i think i suggested international CO day and still didn't contribute :-(

hi pini -- nice ruby (see mine?)
refreshing to view
I almost picked that one, too! :)
lots of people who suggest themes don't follow them -- can't understand that.
I don't see mine yet...will wait for flip before troubleshooting...
interesting variations, pini :)
I'm doing the next few in honor of your bday, jilli! :)
ah well i suggested CO in Jan -- who knew I was going to be stuck in superman mode
I never knew there were star rubies. Star sapphires, yes, and there was quite a fad for them in the late 1940s for engagement rings.
Oh, thanks, pini!!!
