I had a lousy evening and night. Started out great, with visiting my sister. Then drove home and found out the lights of our new car did not work, only one tiny light.
very scare drive home, couldn't see the road too well and all cars that saw me were helpfully flashing their big lights, blinding me even more.

then I got home, found out I had forgotten my keys... my love sleeping through 30 minutes of bell ringing... until neighbours woke up as a result and helped me by climbing througs Tim's window with a big ladder.

he is somewhat deaf and it gets worse. I have asked him several times to go see a hearing specialist (do not know the english word). And yes, he was very tired too.

no, it is really hard for him. He knows one ear is pretty bad, but he is not ready to admit it is getting worse. I cannot blame him, it is tough to realise those kind of things :(

well cardiac anyway - Boston Childrens is the leading cardiac hospital in the country - people for all over the state and abroad go there. I was very fortunate to have them so close - within 2 hour driving is nothing
I'm 2 hours from there too. I take my Mom to doctors at Yale and they're great, but for heart, Boston would be my pick
When my Mom needs her bypass surgery - we took her to Boston too - I trust them much more than the locals here

i know that feeling riverdance,one day the wife was getting some eye surgery done and this particular specialist likes to book several at once when he reserves the operating room.he had them all lined up including my mrs,his nurse was prepping them all with drops etc..all lined up like ducks in a row..i watched that man give sight back to 6 women in the space of 3 hours,toss his mask to the side and go order a pizzza.was funny all the women and my mrs were just sitting in recover stunned just looking at stuff...
Mom has a cardiologist at Yale and I think I would trust them with a bypass, but something more complicated, maybe not

The neighbor always comes over everyday se4/8ing cigarrettes. Husband wasn't too ke 4/8 on giving away his cigarrettes but he gave him some the first few times neighbor asked but then husband got ti 4/4d of it. Cigarrettes are an as 5/10 to my hubby's life and he does not like giving them away all the time. The neighbor still comes over to ask but my husband just st 5/10s him away. His fe 4/7 does not know he smokes. She used to have fi 4/7 about his smoking. I witnessed an argument between him and his wife and it wasn't a pretty sc5/12.The wife would complain to me that the sh5/12 always smelled like an ashtray.He used to fr4/7 that she would leave him so he told her he quit, but he never did. I don't know how neighbor can hide smoking from his wife.I can smell the sc5/12 of ashes everytime he comes over. Sometimes I wish that we had a fe5/18 to block out the neighbors.Well I hope you could to find some more words with ea4/4 from my story. there are strong psychological things that go on when a person is seriously ill (that I don't understand, but have had to deal with) -- the docs need to know if the meds aren't being taken correctly, especially since he is part of that trial.

Fortunately for the docs, the meds concerned aren't part of the trial...
that is good, but still it will help them tell which things are causing which symptoms
I'll try to communicate the problem through the nurses...don't see the doctor for 2 weeks...

I was just playing math with the kids online. and then discussing with them (the 19 and the 14) what they thought the best approach would be working with a 14 yo.

I think probably a combination of marshmallows and cages work well on 14 yo kids... LOL toss the marshmallows into the cage from a distance...
no idea on the theme m, I don't have the energy for that these days.

I also like to use "pentominoes" and similar puzzles that engage the visual/artistic brain along with the mathematical/proportional brain
yeah.. thing is, I don't have time to do a lot of the play games ground work.. he's at 3rd grade level, and *should* be at 7th or 8th.. so while we will have a LOT of fun, we need to take a kind of accelerated approach (and I'm going to suggest games to the foster parents)..

I would look for ways to help the child see mathematics in authentic uses, not with the ubiquitous pizza division or travel story-problems, but along the lines of finding something in the child's life or environment that uses mathematical/proportional reasoning to help him see the way we actually use maqth

also, we had a sort of mystery computer game that was self-leveling for the boys when we homeschooled that I let them play to extend the practice. Unfortunately (or fortunately) drills actually DO work in math and music...
I have looked at online math games. most are snoozers.
we used to play math blasters. like that one. and the incredible brain (or something like that)... but those aren't online
