a 4 letter word, worth no points? funny!
easily done, Chug, typo!
no prob. chugga, just so happy to have your list
yeah, amen to that!
Just wanted to also say thanks Chug, this is so very helpful with this tough grid.
you sing as well, melissamay?
and Scrabble, yeah, wiz at that, but this? ha!!
Yes, I do -- lots of time spent on music. :D
yeah, me too, it's my life!
are you a singer George?
yes, are you in a band?
or choir?
eh, flosey, your connected with me on yahoo! lol!!
have a band, yeah
yes, George
And raw foods too, that's so cool -- I've been exploring lots of raw food sites lately, I'll check out the ones on your profile.
good morning
what do you play, George
then why are you asking that? ha, ha!!
morning ruby
shaking my head, I am--ever look at my page?!?
quiet though, yeah?
don't play anything, just sing
very seldom use it George
well, except silly things, maraccas, paper and comb!
I'm all excited! I just saved a young hawk that flew into my living room through the open front door. I heard a noise from the kitchen, thinking a bird had crashed into a window from the outside, but he was fluttering around, banging into things in an absolute panic.
I'm all excited! I just saved a young hawk that flew into my living room through the open front door. I heard a noise from the kitchen, thinking a bird had crashed into a window from the outside, but he was fluttering around, banging into things in an absolute panic.
ruby! shut the door! you will let a hawk in!
LOL....and well done you!
That's so cool ruby, thanks for helping the hawk.
He was beautiful and possibly young, but not small. I got a dishtowel and wrapped it around his substantial shoulders, calmed him down and released him. Wow! That makes me so happy!
wow, good for you ruby
smal birds fly in from time to time but, more often, crash into the kitchen windows near the feeder, but this was different
I can't stop smilling!
That's such a happy feeling, so wonderful. You did good!
I love when our regular lives intersect with nature in unexpected ways. So cool, and how wonderful you were right there to help!
we've had birds come in here too ruby, I usually catch them in a towel and release them outside again
How is everybody? I love living in the country!
jumping in for a few minutes
I do too ruby, we seldom see neighbours - unless intentionally
can't sleep again....
I wish I did too, ruby. I have to content myself with saving spiders and petting stray cats.
oh and watching birds in the yard -- not quite the stuff of wild kingdom.
I save spiders, too, but only the daddy long legs and the argiopes. The big, black ones that jump I squish!
I can't help it -- I think Charlotte's Web got to me at an impressionable age. I even save the scary ones.
And bees, while my husband shakes his head. But I haven't been bit or stung yet, knock on wood.
I do not know 23 K words *stomps off in a strop to the grid*
ooh, just found a ci6/21 and related ci7/32 that were only guesses, fun when that happens!
abolutely, mellissa! I grew up with a sister who was terrified of spiders and I got over it when I read Charlotte!
clever George!
ta, jilli!
ci6 -- hmm -- go monkeys!!!
But I'm off to bed -- can't see those words or any others. Night all!
sweet dreams jilli!
Awesome ruby, I think that started me off on loving animals in general -- not that I needed much encouragement!
Yes sweet dreams jilli.
night, jilli, sweet dreams to ya!
night jilli
thanks all, and *poof*
yeah, they're too easy to love, Melissa
oh my name is in the grid :-)
the name of a m8 of mine is in the grid as well, like it would work if accepted, not scattered, never knew it was a word other than a proper name!
it's the ka4/9 word
Think I'll say good night/day too -- best of luck with the beastly grid everyone!

Hi ruby, how is the hubby today?
hello sandy. He's gone off to Geneva alone to his dentist (6th time in less than 2 months). Driving with him is unbearable and I think he needs the time alone. His arm is healing beautifully, but he is depressed and complaining about everything.
I just rescued a hawl in my living room!
is your husband still away? how is your wine flask doing?
a hawl?
hawk*
hahah
it flew in the front door and was knocking everything over in his panic
husband will be away for some time, and what is a hawk doing in your living room, do you have mice?
I wrapped him in a dish towel, calmed him down, and carried him back out
not in the house that I've seen, but certainly outside.
wine cellar is ok and I am going down south for 5 days soon (with my sisterand her fellow) so I will be able to restock, it is our wine area
I've only seen hawks at a distance before, usully flying over the field above us, making circles, hunting
I love rescuing birds as little ones fly into the house fairly often, but I've never handled one this big before
I've never had Australian wine? What is the specialty?
well done then, we have hawks here which try to catch the mice in the paddocks
did I tell you that my friend's 32 year old mare died last week?
Australian wine is fabulous, we are famous for good wine and have a large wine industry
ooh that is sad, I hate it when horses die - did she have it put down
I don't think France imports it! I wonder why? hahah
Hallo everyone! Long time no see.
French wine is much less good than it used to be
hello sally
hmmm, maybe I can send you some wine - do you like red or white? and can you send wine through the post?
mmm, Australian wine. It's all we drink since our trip hundreds of years ago.
One of our whites won a world championship a few years ago
I doubt it, Sandy, but that is a very sweet idea. When you come and visit, you can bring a bottle and we'll have taste tests!!!!
Im sure I could send you some, I will look into it
I am so sick of local wines, that I've begun drinking rose (blah) from Provence.
My best friend has a vineyard so I will ask her
Does anyone have stats in their profile?
what kinds of grapes?
hi lexi
hey there
she gives me cartons of it, and her property down south is like a resort (good friend tohave- I am godmother to her son)
yesterday I made strained cooked plums with sugar and vodka -- served over ice, it wasn't bad just looked kind of mucky
she has cabernet, merlot, sav blanc
she might have some chardonay as well
lovely
but if I sent some I would choose some from all over
you are too nice!
You sound like the perfect wife there Ruby
I will look in the stores here, but I think their "Chauvinism" definitely comes into play regarding wine
yes, especially since I made husband go to Geneva alone! raofl
We export wine to England dont know about France
I hasve never found Oz wine in France, ruby.
he only drinks martinis, the vodka/plum smush was for me!
Is geneva far?
Lots of it in stores here.
45 minutes
What do you like Sally?
We like Wolf Blass if we can afford it.
ok, 85 for tomorrow, I'm off to bed now, goodnight all
I have wolf blass chardonay in my fridge at the moment because it is cheap here! it figures
I am very curious now, but I'll bet they keep it out or, at least, charge a lot extra, trying to protect their own dwindling quality
about $10 a bottle
We wait till it's on offer then buy.
I've written the name down aND will see
We have better wines here than that, but I do like that Wolf Blass
South Australia has some great reds and West Aus has some great whites
husband won't even taste American wines
We had some when in Australia and liked it, so when we saw it here we bought some (Yellow Label is one we like best) but we also buy plenty of others. We get lots of Hardys, Banrock, Penfold in the shops.
Wolf Blass is south aus, mine is a wolf blass 2009 chardonay that i have at the moment
Don't buy very expensive wines.
mine is yellow label , what do you pay for it there Sally?
Sorry, I meant that /we/ don't buy them, not that no-one else should. Realise it sounded like an instruction!
when I was still dating (between husbands), various boyfriends used to try to impress me with great French wines. Those days are long gone!!!!! :(
Me either Sal, but when I go out to dinner , I take a better quality wine
The Yellow Label is about £8 a bottle, which is about 13-14 Aus dollars, but we can often get it for about £5 when on offer, then we buy 6 at a time and get a further discount!
Ok not a lot of difference then and I do the same thing here
Ok not a lot of difference then and I do the same thing here
only one good word for me, so far, ci7/32, the semi-precious stone
I got that one! They are in my engagement ring.
lovely!
It was an antique. Didn't want anything conventional second time round.
I love antique jewelry but, unfortunately, husband likes new pieces that he has made to his own designs.
Ruby, are you using babble expert yet? although without lickety it is a waste
Your husband sounds quite the romantic Ruby
My only old things are an amber nuecklace he found in London and a silver George Jensen pin that I found at a Salvation Army in upstate NY for $15!
wow
his gifts of jewelry are not for wearing in the country!
used to be.....
that means they are too impressive for the country
I wore some of them when I was in London, but was aftraid I'd be robbed so wore my ring backwards. etc.
Mother nature is our enemy Ruby, age gets to all of us
some faster than others....
I can't use expert on a Mac, but I did manage to do some grids while away. The first day I printed out the grid hastily before I got on the train, and did it in pen on the train, then I input the words using my phone!
LOL sal, that is devotion
but I've lost so many friends, my age but mostly younger, that I feel very lucky to be around!!! And it's almost 20 years since my cancer!
And, and, it's very expensive visiting my son, because he took me to the Apple store, and I bought an iPad. Ecstatic with excitement!
I have to go and get dressed but hope to find you gals here later. Have 76 words but, hopefully, will find more later
what sort of cancer? (if you want to share) that means you are a true survivor
{{big hugs, friends}}
ruby, I'm just dashing out to the chiropractor but will be back later.
ok bye for now rubles
alone again....naturally
type 2A breast cancer, adeno carcinoma, radical mastectomy and elaborate tram-flap reconstruction, strong CAF chemo and 2 1/2 years of tamoxifen.
well done ruby, you ARE a true survivor
I think I'm fine, but bones took a beating from the reconstruction....
still here for a moment but had better get dressed or husband will get back and be angry!
I am lucky, nothing serious yet (knock on wood)
and nothing non serious either
I consider myself very lucky! Cancer runs in my family: lost 2 aunts and 2 first cousins from it and my best friend in NY!
glad he is healing, has that dog been put down yet
I have friends who have survived it
I never had anything, not flu, measles or even a cold until I got cancer at 47! Maybe that's why I survived!
no, dog is still in jail and it is only the mayor who can make the decision to put it down.
I hope it never gets free, it is dangerous
I think that breast cancer is survivable now, as long as you lose your vanity and really go for the strongest treatments. Survival rates improve every year (but, alas, so does the incidence!)
bye again, sweetie!!
Who cares about vanity, one of my best friends has had a mastectomy but no reconstruction, the thing is she is still here 6 years later and we love her
bye both, have to dash now for 10am appointment. Will be back later, cos only have 47 words so far.
bye rubes
bye sal
I think it's a bit harsh to deny reconstructions for breast cancer patients by saying that it's vanity. Some people feel happy to do without, for others, it's a very important part of making them feel like themselves again.
And to my mind, a much better use of the skill of the surgeon than many of the real vanity operations carried out on women (and men).
Haz, she is thinking of getting a reconstruction now because it is long enough to feel that the cancer is gone, that was her worry
I hope it works out well for her.
She is such a lovely person and her husband loves her so much (so do we) she has been my friend since we were 5 years old
Phone.
Hello all
hi lynxx
hi Sandy
23 k words!
morning all
hi Kalia, they say there is, not sure where
lol...me neither
hi back for a few, 76 words before
hi Ruby
hi Ruby
Ihave 89 left
i have 63,,, was going along fine until I got to the k
i have 15 k s dont know where the others are
I have 11...moving on now lol
kaz misunderstood. The vanity part is having the surgery in the first place with a parade of interns etc. going in and out. I was very prudish before, but got over that. Reconstruction was a matter of being able to go back to work and look OK in my clothes.
the reconstruction is certainly not a thing of beautify.
losing all my hair during chemo was worse, for a while, than losing a breast! That made me cry because it all fell out in one day
here , medically they encourage reconstruction and medicare covers it
I've known two women who died because they didn't have the breast removed in the first place!
I dont think it is vanity at all and up to the individual \
THAT was vanity!
I would opt for life every time
absolutely agree! My only suggestion, is to get a short haircut BEFORE chemo!
It is very odd our reaction to the hair loss. I had had very short hair for some 25 years and did not think it would phase me - it did!
I stood in the shower and cried, not over the "lost" breast but seeing all those curls in the tub!
Actually, I looked better in the scrarves than I did with hair!
having seen friends go through hair loss and breast loss , i think that they should not get upset over either as the people around them only want them to survive and dont pay any attention to those things
Strangely my husband and daughter both cannot remember my hair loss. I did wear scarves tied around my head. Perhaps we are the only ones who notice
it is a very personal thing to them tho
I think my reconstruction was paid for by my insurance, but I really don't remember! Tamoxifen may save lives, but it causes short-term memory loss (they don't tell you that).
it is a hard road to travel that is for sure but wonderful when the journey is successful
MY HAIR IS SO AWFUL NOW, THAT i AM TEMPTED TO WEAR SCARVES -- UNFORTUNATELY, THE NEIGHBORS MIGHT THINK i WAS MUSLIM! LOL
is that permanent Ruby?
whoops, sorry for caps...sticky pinkie!
it is just thin, greyish and curly. Not terrible but not pretty either
and the scarves were lovely. I gave most of them away, tho, to a friend who had chemo and lost her hair. She survived, but didn't give the scarves back! Maybe she gave them to someone else in need....
I even showed her how to tie them likve a Moroccan!
Hopefully! It is nice to think of them adorning bald heads isn't it
I worked through the whole cancer thing, just missed the weeks I was in hospital and one day for each of the chemo sessions.
Yes, for sure!
Other recommendation from a medical oncologist in Boston: add Atavan to the drip, it prevents vomitting. It worked for me, but is rarely suggested
doctors tend to think of the disease, not the person
My friend who has just come through with a 'clear; did not feel at all sick through chemo, it is much better than it used to be
she is wanting her hair to grow back
she is very lucky. So many people get really sick from it. I just couldn't drink gin! hah
in the end, I would rather have chemo than radiation, after all radiation can have longer-term side effects!
Many years ago I had a beautiful outfit, pants, top and wonderful winding cumberbund, made from the finest American lawn. I gave it to a close friend who was dying with melanoma and who couldn't bear anything 'rough' on her skin. She looked beautiful in it and although I missed it a lot, I felt very special to have been able to give it to her. She was only about 30 when she died
I thing that having cancer really changes you whole life, and not just in bad ways. You appreciate every day more and also your friends!!!!!!
things are much advanced since you went through it all ruby my friend felt no ill affects from the chemo I am happy to say but happier to say she is clear for the moment
that is a touching story lynxx; I know just what you mean!
lynxx that is soo sad, what a nice thing you did for her
I imagine it changes all the time and more and more women are surviving!
now lunch for husband who is back from Geneva with his new bridge!
{{everybody}}
bye for now Ruby
a bridge for the pond? or for his teeth!
on a lighter note, I have been living in fear today, my nice rooster has turned into an evil rooster and attacked me today
I will have to take the lunging whip with me to feed the horses
testosterone is our enemy
is he trying to become Sunday dinner? coq au vin? with good Australian wine.....
AYou and roosters! not a good combo. Try a new perfume
amen, sister!
*poo*
*poof* hahah
I thought this rooster would be good forever , but obviously he has matured slowly, he is very beautiful and I dont want to kill him
now husband is away I would have to get my brother to do it, I hope the whip works
I just googled aggressive roosters. The first one suggests grabbing hold of him whenever he is aggressive and walk around with him while you do the chores. Do NOT put him down until he 'submits' and is quiet. 3 weeks should do the trick.
but there does appear to be a fair bit on the subject, some googling yourself might give you a few tricks
LOL hmmm if I can catch him Lynxx, i will try that, I really dont want to kill him
and I will google it
the trouble with the attacking thing is that while I may survive uninjured, a child may get injured, and we do have kids coming here
I can lock it up when kids come and i will definitely try that
How does it act with your dogs?
Ihavent noticed anything with the dogs and they would put it in its place if it attacked them - they tend to avoid aggressive poultry
The dogs don't walk around with you when you are in the yard?
I will be taking them with me tonight that is for sure, they will protect me but they do not kill the chooks even tho they are jack russels
they know what they would get if they killed any family members LOL
would do the rooster good if he got snarled and perhaps snapped at
I need to get personal leadership over the rooster tho, I have never succeeded with any aggressive rooster yet tho, it seems to be a testosterone issue
the rooster relates to the dogs and relates to me on a separate basis
it's an alpha thing
too funny, and I agree
roosters can be manipulated but not if you turn your back on them
I just thought if he sees you boss of the dogs then you might go up a bit higher in the 'pecking' order. Keeping the dogs close to you, even on leads for a bit. Anyway see what you can google
I can talk! I still remember being scared of the chooks 55 years ago!
I will Lynxx, I am not so scared of attacking roosters as I used to be, so I will give it my best
I am not scared of the chooks (used to be when I was a kid) even when they try to peck my toes - they love nail polish LOL
probably thinking 'what lovely fat red worms'!
seems they are attracted to bright colours , but Ihave to go and brave it now , its getting dark - wish me luck!! I will be giggling
be back soon
we hope!
back
no bleeding from the shins?
Ha! It was so late that the chooks were already roosting so no danger there ! Horses were very impatient
the roosters tend to fly into your back with spurred feet first so not a problem with shins
! so thats way you don't turn your back - sheesh
have 82 left so need to concentrate on the grid for a while, how are you going?
73 left, leaving for a bit to get some ri** on to go with whatever I can find in fridge BBS

te & cons & cuttings o****s make your eyes water - plural for the 8

the po8 is finger gesture minus the second cons + abbrev. for 'in regard to' + cons (and plural)
... I could make that more convoluted if you'd like ...
TY nothing like a cryptic clue or two, love it!
Hello anyone seen sprite?
ah yes, the breastplate of the armor of a horse - how could I forget!
hi Infernal - she off for this week holidaying with the family
O that is right I forgot. Just saw these Ks and thought of her
Hi everyone too
Hi herin. Expect sprite had advance notice of the Ks, so went away to avoid them.

off to Longwood Gardens, bbl
inge, it is in flosey's profile
I cant add any words, is anyone else having that problem?
not now annie, but sometimes and I turn babble off and on again or just be patient
Good Morning Babblers :)
hi nan
mine is adding them ok annie
Annie-sometimes I have to hit the add button instead of enter
I cant add words at the moment because with 25 left I cant think of any to add
are you using babble expert annie?
I was thrown off, just came back in...I am on babble expert now..let's see
it is okay now..thanks
now you come to mention it annie I have been thrown off twice tonight
oh good
no Lickety today, I see
nope I think flosey has list in her profile
what do you have to do to use babble expert ?
that's right, Annie
thanks, Nono
so hard without it even with Floseys list
sandy, Lickety's is so simple to use it makes the others much harder
When Lickety has a list up, BE is great because the words go into the list in the right order
someone has to email it to you mills, I dont know quite how to do it
millsbooks, just email Lickety and he will send you the link
let me check to see if i saved link in my email
I never finish without Lickety
it is certainly a lot easier with expert , but you dont have to look at the list if you dont want to, you just move the borders
I never could finish without a list for sure
try this: http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /BabbleExpert12_FireworksForever.zip
save it to your desktop millsbrook
I have finished a few times without a list but generally have to use it
I think I did it once over the years I always try without it at first tho
I try to see how far I can get w/o the list but then I almost always need the list to finish
just now starting to use flosey's list with 53 left
Basically, I always need the list to finish
We always talk about the large grids that we have had but I remember a grid that was 36 words
yes and if i recall correctly it was a real stinker too
I opened flosey's list, made it fit into my chatlog but as soon as I enter a word, flosey's list disappears..any hints as to what I am doing wrong?
has it gone underneath the babble window annie?
I printed out the list
i paste it into notepad and size it to fit next to babble
hmm I can't get babble expert to open.
yes, it is under the babble window
sandy, need to buy ink, printer is out just when I need it, of course
nono, dont know what a notepad is and I cant copy and paste, one day I will learn, I am so computer DUMB
I think it disappears because you have two windows open when you press on babble the other window goes under
so am I annie that is why i cant tell boo what is wrong
Annie do you know how to highlight certain text?
resize your babble window so there is a gap beside it then put floseys list in the gap
that will work By
*Vy sorry
will try to resize the window, vyv
OMG, I think I did it!!!
wtg annie
wtg
I lost the list but will try again
Good morning/afternoon all. Annie, you need to consult your Computer Expert book.
Morning Haz
Haz, I sold all my copies. It was a smash hit.
Of course! I forgot about that. Is it going to be reprinted?
It is keeping the publisher in business. Yes, 15th edition will be in the bookshops next week.
And the begging letters - how do you cope?
I suppose youl've heard all the hard luck stories by now.
what is this book annie?
Haz, I just ignore them.
Haz, I just ignore them. I lost the list again. *deep sigh*
Haz, I just ignore them. I lost the list again. *deep sigh*
Haz, I just ignore them. I lost the list again. *deep sigh*
Teach yourself computers. It's in the world's shortest book series.
hello again
did annie write it?
hi ruby
hi Ruby!
You're quite right, Annie. Enjoy the fruits of your labours.
hi ruby
sandy, we are just joshing
hi ruby
LOL I can never tell , I am so innocent
that was pretty funny ladies - thanks for the chuckle and good morning everyone
I would be too, sandy
sandy - look at my profile for some other examples of shortest books in the world - celebrity editions first, then babblers' contributions.
{{rover}} {{sandy}} {{annie}}
you gals are a hoot
not rover, RIVER! arf
sandy, the book titles are hilarious...whenever I need a good chuckle I open Haz' list
arf back at ya...lol
what a hoot!
it is funny when my son comes to visit as he is a computer pro, a data-base administrator (whatever that is)
hi River
sometimes, if I have a problem, I call him in Texas and he walks me through it
you should be an expert then ruby
no no, hello hello
Hi Nono - how are you
nah, the genes work the other way!
14 left , I think I am nearly burnt out
Hi River
hi boo
Hi Boo
he's a right-handed musician; I'm a left-handed painter! hahah
ruby, if he is ever in Brooklyn......
but I def think we're related!
You'd be able to give him a tutorial, Annie.
ruby, I got ruby's son the job throught my recommendation
actually, I think Annie is a distant relative....lol
I donated the egg ( ooh, was not supposed to tell)
if anybody goes to Austin, they can hear him play guitar with a blues man named (really!) Orange Jefferson!
Annie is on a roll today...
hi river, looks that way, doesnt it...I better stop
oh please dont
DH has a different nurse this week and wants to fire her and do the bandage himself!!!!
I am not going to do the bandage! NO NO NO
LOL ruby, the nurse needs to keep an eye on his wounds
oh no - maybe thats why he is crankier than usual - routine is off
this one is very brusque, not like the little sweetie who has been coming up 'til now
ruby, and he was doing so well with the wound...can you get a different nurse..one he will like
you could request that
there appears to be only one per village and "Sylvie" is on holiday this week
the wound looks wonderful through Sylvie's ministrations
Does he know that Sylvie is coming back next week? That might calm him down
if he insists, I'll call his MD
yes, I would do that, ruby
it is only for two more visits 'til the other one comes back!
I am getting greyer by the minute!!!
call the MD, ruby
I don't want to change the dressing; he says "Ouch" when I cut his hair!
get the dog out of the pound and keep it outside the window
hahah, sandy
or make a mask of the dogs face and wear it
he thinks the hawk came in the house because of the bird feeder out front, that this kind of hawk will pick off birds directly from the feeder. Now what am I supposed to do about that?
tie the dog up under the bird feeder
my fault, of course
the dogs barely noticed the hawk in the house, great watchdogs, as usual
the mask is a good idea!
my life is turning into a circus! and I'm the tightrope walker
just take a breath and smile inwardly and outwardly and you will be fine
actually, I'm chuckling to myself as this is turning ridiculous!
there you go its working already
time for his martini! and nuts! hahah
you have one as well
I'm better off without; I'll wait and have one while I'm cooking, that way I won't get into an argument!
This is priceless ruby, and entertaining from here which is so far away
when are you headed south, sandy?
I refuse to be pessimistic! life's too short and we see people with so many real problems
not this weekend but next , I am looking forward to it , but will worry to leave nicky
how is she at changing bandages? only kidding!!!
*poof*
she wont go and stay with her grandmom
b
a

YW
It's one of those grids where you can't see for looking, I think.
yes i believe so Haz and about now I'm slightly crosseyed
there are certain letters I can't see anything from
The good Dr-G must have been getting these from the 'keep them on their toes' box.
FIREWORKS !
yep
Well done, Nono!
congrats, Nono !!
Hello, ruru.
Back in the chat - about 1.30 am - Chuggaboom has listed the stats in two postings
good morning haz.. is there a list somewhere?
Congrats Nono
There's a list on flosey's profile.
a list in flosey's profile
Didn't look there - I usually rely on gremlin but no list there today
I'm off to do sudoku unless someone wants a clue
Off to bed - happy babbling
So you worked from the double posting? You deserve to sleep well, anike!
sleep well Anike
OK, Happy babbling everyone
Bye, Nono.
bye nono, anike
thanks.. this will help me with this one
I have done some of the recent grids without a list..but not lately
back from the wars!
No, and I don't think today is the day for going all gung-ho and brave.
hi Ruru
hi ruru!
hi you guys
<---- not feeling gung ho on this grid
<----not feeling ho anything
me neither ruru
I am doing mine without a list
I would happily accept any clues for any 8's! please....
I never use a list and also, never get fireworks unless FM carries me across
in8 - latin plural of the unmoving in7.
thy ty haz!!!!!
wow.. thanks
got the 5 and 7, monkeying the 8
clue for the in7 please
yay!!!!
po8 - being a plural for po7/32. A singular French pea is followed by the first letters of a criss-cross fence.
te8 - plural of te7 - run together a sea-bird and a charged particle.
uh oh, monkeys are struggling......
in7 - builds from in5/10 - not moving. It means the state of being unmoving.
ty
good morning everyone - and thanks Haz- that was a strange clue for a strange word, but I got it! (po 7 and 8)
Hello, JBV, glad you got it.
I got some of haz' brilliant clues but still working on the poi
hello jbv!
hi ruby!
The last bit is the sort of criss-cross fencing you might put up to support a plant.
The last bit is the sort of criss-cross fencing you might put up to support a plant.
Sorry for double posting..
believe it or not, that po 7 is a word I should have known - french, medieval, etc. - all the stuff I used to know and have forgotten
got it, ty haz, but very strange word
nobody's perfect, jbv!
are you a medieval historian JBV?
A horse's armoured breastplate. I get mine from Amazon
I am lost on the po 8
no, ruby, but I majored in French Lit (among other things) and took about 15 credits in Medieval Lit
wondering why haz would need an amoured breastplate?
also English Lit, Spanish Lit etc -
For my horse, silly, ruru.
is England sooo touchy feely?
ti7 breast + talking in a violent way.
hi zoom, thanks :)
hi zzooozzz
ruru, take the n out of the po7/32 (used to indicate something on a blackboard), reverse the order of the last two letters, add l.
Hello, all :-)
Hello, zooz.
the ti word is totally strange!
Hi zz
Then plural for po8.
I miss NB - has anybody heard from him?
that helped.. thank you haz
You're welcome, ruru.
Another great icon, zooz.
he must be drowning in his family and in kimchi!
lol..thanks Haz :-)
I keep thinking: no news is good news - he's busy and happy
zooz.. where do you find those.. thay are great
I will never reach half today!
Love that icon, zooz!
I hope so and he's certainly eating well!
I just search google for `funny gifs` Ruru :-)
For future reference, once you find ne6 (Mr Mandela, Admiral Lord), there's a ke6 and a te6 with the same structure.
anyone have the first da 7/32?
I think it's a type of cake mould.
1st da7? hahahah
It ends in the Spanish cheer.
thats the one i have Haz
ty haz
thank you haz
You're welcome.
how many da7`s are there then?
23 K's!?!?!!! oh NO!
23 geez :-(
There are two, zooz. The second one is a plural - extend the repair of a sock.
Hello, hurshy. Too many Ks.
ei?
yay..thanks Haz!!
i'm stuck on the po8. reclue please
You're welcome, zooz.
ei - to sound like a holy/significant picture.
ei + some-one who deceives you but with a K not a `c`
oops sorry Haz.
thank you
then plural for the ei6
po8 - is a plural for po7. po plus not he nor she but **, then to eat with satisfaction is to eat with ***ish.
does anybody have a list today?
Make it plural for po8.
Erda, flosey has one in her profile.
Thank you, Haz
No problem.
thanks for the ne6,ke,te6, Haz..took me a while but got them..lol
Good for you!
Not seen Ata for ages here..but her home town is in the grid.
well i think it`s her hometown..lol
er 6/21?
I know. She's probably constructing works of genius somewhere.
i have to go run an er6, be back in a few mins...
er6/21 - small boys run them at the behest of their mothers.
thanks hursh.. looking the wrong way on that one
er 6 - drop by the store, run by the post office, pick up the cat at the vet
another er6 is the same but dif last letter.
That's for little boys who are mischevious and who fail to buy the right things when sent out on an er6/21
had that one zoo thanks
lol, Haz
mischievous, even.
good morning everyone
Hello, Flosey!
Hello, flosey.
ke 6/30?
ke6 - to rhyme with Mr Mandela or Admiral Lord ne6
Or, the second one, a plural for ke5/18 - ke plus first letters of the price you pay to travel over some bridges or roads.
thank you
k's are done
You're welcome.
wow, good job ruru, i still have five k's
four..
Konfetti and Klapping.
lol
nice, haz
actually i need more t's than k's, but k's seem more hopeless.
Can I do a Bewitched k clue? ke5/20 - k plus first letter's of Samantha's mother.
most of the Ks are 4s
name that proper noun! river in florence, featured in "a room with a view"
thanks haz! needed that one.
Po?
no, not the po...
clearly you need to revisit forster.
I have a list in my bio, complements of ChuggaBOOM
my great-grandmother was a forster, i wonder if we're related to the author??
Amo!
My geography is weak, but I can navigate to google.
that looks like Amo, but if you put Arno, ding ding ding!
name that proper noun! he didn't get eaten by lions.
My daughter is ploughing her way through 100 books you're supposed to read before you die. She was singularly unimpressed by Little Women, mainly because I had forgotten that Beth dies in Good Wives and she kept waiting for the sadness that never came.
Daniel!
ding ding ding!
i don't think so, i am pretty sure beth does die in little women... it was referenced on friends...
There's a Jane Austen clergyman from Emma.
I have a list now too, made from scratch.
I was too tired to play last night.
No, she's ill in Little Women, dies in the next book.
hi grem, missed you last night
joey had rachel read "the shining" and she had him read "little women" and when he gave something away, which started the giving-things-away-war, rachel ended up by saying "beth dies".
Thanks Flosey & Gremlinn..50 left here..might need it very soon.
good morning everyone;) http://bookstove.com/book-talk/100-boo ks-to-read-before-you-die/
i see the confusion - it came out in two volumes, but they are usually published together as little women now.
Hello, Crossy :-)
I know, but the scriptwriters were taking liberties.
I know, but the scriptwriters were taking liberties.
hi flosey
my copy, for instance, has them both in one, and it doesn't say "Little Women and Good Wives" on the cover, just Little Women.
Little Women (or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy) is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott (1832–1888). The book was written and set in the Alcott family home, Orchard House, in Concord, Massachusetts. It was published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869. The novel follows the lives of four sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March—and is loosely based on the author's childhood experiences with her three sisters. The first volume was an immediate commercial and critical success, prompting the composition of the book's second volume titled Good Wives, which was successful as well. The publication of the book in the form of a single volume first occurred in 1880.
That makes sense. I wonder if it's an American thing, we always had the two separately.
Haz, back to Bewitched, Samantha's husband is in the grid today.
So he is!
here's a hard one:
Fingers poised, google ready...
name that proper noun! shape shifting mischief-maker of norse mythology

then i will follow up with easy one...
then i will follow up with easy one...
name that proper noun! brand of toy truck

Haz, re: Little Women, I read it when I was nine aloud to my younger sister and it was only one book. I think that IS an American thing.

Hello, NANCY - long time! Yes, it must be the explanation. I don't know whether I'll be able to persuade her to follow up with Good Wives on the basis that it's really part of Little Women which is on the list.
on7 - more stubborn, cantankerous.
Bye, hurshy!
By the way, NANCY, how did you manage to get through Beth's death? Did you read it through your sobs?
not seeing that..
on7 number + letter +chicken r*** & peas
on7 - start with a singular number - add the letters of the watery passages like the Seine, Thames, but take out the v.
Sorry, scrub that.
on plus Mr Clapton with an extra vowel inserted after the first vowel.
Haz, yes, I was very impressed with the book at age nine and was very emotional about it all. It has always been a favorite of mine. BTW, I do read all of the chog most of the time but lurk due to time constraints.
I know, once you start to chat, time just goes, doesn't it?
Anne of Green Gables is also on the list, and in my book that means ALL of them.
got it..whew
thank you both.. I wouldn't have found that oen
You're welcome, ruru, sorry for trying to lead you astray earlier.
While we are on the subject of books, I am reading The Help and loving every page. What a funny, well written book for a first time author.
Yes, lots of people have been talking about it. FMitch is reading it at the minute and is going to send it to me when she's finished.
OH, you will really love it. One of those books you want to keep reading but yet don't want to rush as it will be over too soon.
I'm looking forward to it.
Let me know what you think after you finish. I am only about a third of the way through...
does anyone have a clue for ti6 please
Ears perk up at the mention of The Help...I loved it!
ti6 - one who colours
I will, Nancy.

Hello, Christine, on & off..just getting over a tummy bug...might have to goto a hospital toget my head sorted soon..lol............Hope you are well?
I'm very well, and sending good thoughts. Be well soon.
Is there any news on shdy ??
Will do Christine..thanks...although it is going to take some time, i feel.
who is shdy?
Well, it'll be worth it. (what happened to your icon?)
have you clicked on it?.
shdy is a late-night babbler, having some domestic troubles, and there was concern that she was at the end of her rope. There's a picture on your profile, but not on the chog.
oh no, poor lady..i feel for her...i hope it works out for her.
yes thats just how the icon goes Christine.
ok 27 more to find...listing.
po8 pls
Someone called her (? Friday), and she saif she'd seek help ... hope she does. Sometimes, I guess, things get to be too much, on top of some sort of abuse by her boyfriend of many years, and I guess it overwhelmed her.
Does not sound fun at all...no one shouldhave to put up with abuse from anyone...i do hope she can get help.
Cosmo i have the po8..but do notknow how to clue it...Haz clued it earlier..i will find it..hold on.
my wife came from an abousive relationship.it took her a year to stop flinching when i approached her for a hug..but then again, when i was finished, her ex bf strangle started flinching around me..funny eh? lol.he should not even carry on like that,i even drove him to the doctors when he had those mishaps..always was a clumsy boy...as far as i know he never laid hands on another woman again...
Hope so.
po8 - is a plural for po7. po plus not he nor she but **, then to eat with satisfaction is to eat with ***ish.
damn typos
tx zoom
Yes it is very sad when people find themselves ina n abusive relationship....it is good to know people can be helped out of those situations too....so there is hope for her at least.
Your welcome, Cosmo :-)
she will find people to stand with her and find a way out of despair im sure
Zooz - thanks - I had the word on trhe edgew oif my brain, and couldn't draw it firth. Lovely word, eh?

Hi, GE and flosey, ((crossy))
Hello, GD
ahh ol/4 american margerine,i always miss that one
Jellen, should be going to a hospital soon, to help sort my head out...but fear i will be gone from babble for a while :-(
Didn't get the on7, I'm afraid...
i do not blame you jellen with that clue i gave:/
Yes, zooz, you're right...hospitals don't recognize the therapeutic value of Babble!
on7 number + letter + chicken ***e & peas
others more able will have to try as i am a cluing disaster today:/
hmm, many of the same words we've had the last couple days
on7 - on* and only + boy's name E*** but change the first vowel.
::sniffle:: my little nephew started kindy-garten yesterday!
Change the first vowel in the boy's name, that is.
aww Eva, they grow up so fast...hope you got some photos?
they sent some over. :)
Thanks, got it!
apparently he gave them quite the fright when he didnt get off the bus at the end of the day!
EvaN, my youngest niece is a sophomore in high school now!
Ok really have to go..the guinea pigs are squeaking like mad... Take care {{{Jellen}}} And {{All}}
Goodness! That would be scary!
Bye, ((zooz))
thankfully they live just around the corner from the school, so they found him quickly. but youd think the bus drivers would be better trained with these little ones who have never done this sort of thing without mom and dad!
Did he just forget to get onto the bus?
he was on the bus, just didnt get off.
ohhhhh. poor guy
apparently he DID tell the driver his house was the one with the blue shutters. bless his little heart.
im hoping day2 (today) goes smoother. :)
mom and dad will be there flagging down the bus! he'll have to run them over to get by!
heh, my brother did try to chase it down when he realized Sid didnt get off. and my s-i-l hopped in the car and drove straight to the school!
while it will forever make a cute first-day-of-school story nobody needs that kind of excitement
i agree! i can only imagine how frightened they were!
and little Sid told grandma that he was scared, but he was trying to be brave.
eva, i'm out of the loop. how goes the shoe search?
what a sweetheart!
oh, i found a pair. not the PERFECT pair, but a pair i quite like. and they were SO inexpensive that if i manage to find an even more perfect pair, i can still buy them. :)
and had my first dress fitting this past weekend!
How exciting!
wedding is exactly 2 months from yesterday. EEP!
oh fun! how did it go? everybody cry?
i fell in love with my dress all over again...heh... and was pleased that the accessories i bought do match it well.
this was moms first time seeing it, and she loves it. and that makes me happy. :)
mom liking it makes it easier and more fun!
yes, she said it is very "me" hehe
oh well, work beckons. afternoon all!
later
Bye, EvaN
nbt for me!
So Jellen what are you doing with yourself now that things have quieted down?
Had dinner last night with friends...been reading a lot...and there are things to do with the building renovation...
the renovation is for the store?
Yes...but I'm not going through with the store...
oh no?
I'm going to try to sell or lease the building and have an auction of the merchandise and fixtures...
Tim was central to the store plan...he was the expert...
I see. That changes everything obviously.
Unless a miracle occurs, and someone appears that wants to run the store for me, I think it's the right thing to do...
GE, have you heard of GoodReads?
an5?
But for now you have the renovation and auction to organize and focus on.
True...
No what is it?
don't have it cosmo
Its a web site where you can keep track of books you've read and share with others...a lot of Babblers are on it...
oooh that sounds perfect for me! I'm checking it out...
Cosmo-an + charged particle

I'm Jellen there, too...
ohhhh dear, so full
Is lickety up today?
no but i hear tell the list is in flosey's profile
Oh, no hurshy...hope it was good food!
wouldn't say no to a bet that it's also in gremlinn's
if it was bad food, why would i have eaten so much that i would be so full?
True enough :-)
Sometimes I eat things I regret later, like potato chips...
grem has a list today in his bio
hi all.. this is my first look at grid.. glad it's not huge!
me, too Jellen-but I add French onion dip! & too much of both
Hi, m9!
oh, well this was soy meatloaf, mashed yukon gold potatoes, veggie risotto, whole wheat vegan bread, and a pineapple-mango-banana smoothie.
i am officially on the wagon. just found out we are taking a family picture in November and need to lose a few!
I have one from another babbler last night who was very tired, have found a couple of minor errors - have corrected as I find them
Oh, I'd eat too much of those things too!
hi M! almost didn't see you sneak in!
grem has a list in his bio
name that proper noun! cell phone company
I'm "on the wagon" as you put it for daughter's wedding in 7 or so months!
I need to be on a strict diet/exercise program...going to Florida over Christmas break...
I've lost 7 or 8 pounds
Nokia!
oh fun! we all have reasons!
Meat loaf - that's one of the things I miss sine I stopped cooking.
so we can lose together!
ding ding ding!
good job M. what are you doing to lose?
Hi, Christine
i don't have a reason other than wanting to lose a bit of weight, but i've lost about 7 lbs too
sweet!
I don't own a scale...
well.. I used to buy candy bars when I went shopping....
although at the moment it feels like i put it all back on with that big lunch!
me too!
Hi Jellen, lurking & trying to find the lat 94.
but now I buy a bag of semi sweet chips and have it in the cupboard. But I tend not to eat them that much.
I'll just aim for losing inches...
that's a good way to go Jellen!
i can be good at meals but snacking and chocolate ae my downfall
just stopping by, ladies, but good work..:)
NB!!!! How's it going???
Last October, I stpped eating candy, deserts, sugar in my tea - lost 23pounds in a blink of the eyes, nothing since then.
Hi there NB, good to see you
and i HAVE to find a way to fit in exercise. i suppose if i used my babble time to walk it would be a big help...
did you increase omega fats christine??
NB - how was Korea?
NB!!!!!!
NB - how was Korea?
everyone looks very happy in your icon pic
hi nancy!
you live!!
I say don't fight things so much... put your keyboard up and walk in place WHILE you babble!
aren't you still there NB?
wow, hi - thanks for the nice welcome :) well I'm still in Korea, it's like 4am here but way too hot to sleep.
how long will you be there NB?
last I "spoke" with you, you were using the language 'barrier' to avoid questions..how's that going?
A shelf on a treadmill, for a laptop, and multitask. If I can find space in my untidy bedroom, that's what I want to do.
great ideas!
couldn't last, M9 :) I had to tell in the end
and?!?!?!?!?
m9f91 - the only change I made was to eliminate the sweet things - I'm all-or-nothing (inhale a box of donuts or cookies), so I just don't buy 'em ... and no longer miss them.
well, if you put a little omega (flax oil) in there... you'll probably see some more loss... in the middle area
NB, Grandparents still love you, right?
has your dad blown a gasket?
I am frustrated with that right n... every time I think i have it.. it comes from the other one!
I can't talk about it right now. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come into the chat! :/ I was stupid and built it up too much.
so mainly we mostly have an in7 problem eh, ladies??
it's ok NB!
and you're not stupid.
That's okay, NB...just know we love you...
I'm glad to see you.. no matter what you do or don't have to say!
hang in there NB! ((HUGS))
{{{{{{NB}}}}}}}}
{{{{NB}}}} Love ya; hang in there!
I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me. I should go - sorry everyone - thanks :)

sorry.. it is flosEy
Hello babblers. Here for a few minutes...
have been called by them all Cosmo!
hi red
NB - you're not stupid, Hun. Remember, love comes in different shapes, and from different directions (you know how much we love you, right ?), and sometimes you have to give people time to process/accept changes and different lifestyles are very difficult for them to accept. Chin up, laddie, keep a stiff upper lip (try not to trip while in this undignified position). God bless.
hi red!
Hi, red!
hello everyone!
I'm excited...just got off the phone with my sister...she's arranged for me to have a metal-working lesson at an artists' studio in St. Louis when I come up to visit!
Cool jellen!

My niece takes lessons there and does beautiful work...

dcs, that sounds like a good idea for what to do with the grid.
my dad used to do a whole stuffed salmon on the hibachi.

Hello all!
Hi, jilli!
I can't stay but I wanted bugs to see my icon ;)
hey Jilli
Love it!!! you were smitten
GPS gizmos are amazing, aren't they?
I was -- and ordered one from Amazon yesterday (on sale).
when it comes you can come up to visit me
Good idea!
I have 7 k words. I don't think there are any more!!!!
the ca4 is a lie!!
I have a bit of news about NB -- he visited his large family and was welcomed heartily, until he came out. The reaction was mixed but his four young cousins are very supportive. He is going with them to visit the other side of the family in another town.
oh good jilli! He was on here earlier, but just couldn't talk about it.
Thanks for the update, jilli...he was on here briefly...
oh good -- what did he say?
that he couldn't sleep.. again.. too hot. and that he just couldn't tlak about it, shouldn't have come on. sounded emotional
middle of the night weepies maybe.
I hope I'm not out of line with that update.
ah, that explains the one picture he posted with 4 other youngish guys.
It's a really hard pilgrimage he's making.
sigh, sadly, that's about what he expected.
I think he's very brave to be making it...
But hooray for the cousins, who are taking a risk themselves.
indeed he is, jellen
indeed, jilli!
the po6 little puppy lollygags even more than the last
Yes hurray for the cousins and I am glad the grandparents know his parents accept gifts not earned
Must go now and have breakfast! (Don't laugh!)
ty, jellen
njoy, jilli
and thanks for the clue dc
Just finished my breakfast, jilli...
now THAT is the Jilli I thot I was going to meet lol

Oh good, Jellen -- I'm not the only late one!
did they get gifts at the wake?
(I beat bugs getting up in the a.m. on the trip, lol)
as I understand it they did
oh I see. already had that one
oohhh.. that's slimey
as is traditional in Korea
They got money for telling the lie that he was killed in an accident
omg! how horrible of them!
indeed

oooh, got an o from amelu..ty!
WHen I was getting over my stress fractures a few years ago, I had to run 0.25 mile and then walk 0.75. It wasn't that fun, but...
seriously...going to do whatever it takes. plenty of time to ramp up for Jan. 1...
aha, got the goodbye - was trying adios over and over
try to find a softish surface to do the running on...
we has ashphalt, and also some trails.
'have'. how ridiculous!
I started on the Treadmill, then went to a gravel track and trails and then the asphalt, which is what I actually prefer.
Hi everyone!
Hi Jilly.
Sure missing lickety this week!!
but I had those fractures for a long time, I think you are going to be feeling super fine on Saturday. I'm doing my last 5k on sat.
Amazed at how many K words there are today!
Hey babblers. It's official. the american banking system won't lend me a penny. I bet if I didn't have a job they would! so my mom agreed to pay for the new ac, i only have to pay her 10%. Supposedly by noon tomorrow it will be under 90 in my house, and the humidity will be reduced to a non-mold-causing number

Glad it helped - I couldn't think of anything else.
I am happy to report that I found the volcano early in the grid and not at the end

I don't feel so bad now, dc
150 left
lol,dc,your a young pup to be having all that grey;)
my beard starting turning white when i was 30, and the hair on my head is beginning to salt-and-pepper
my beard is only marginally whiter than my dad's was at this age.
ma classmates mocked the white at 20 yr reunion last year, too :)
and that hair cut looks like what the young stylist at the salon talked me into, they call it a "ceaser" short on the sides but a tad taller on top with no part ,just brush with fingers and go,helps hide the less dense areas;))
i've not parted my hair in 15 years
cause even though i have a full head of hair, was still showing some weak spots ;(
yeah, mine is a tad thinner on the crown, and receded in the front
lol, till 5 years ago my hair was like any drummer from any rock group in the 70,s lol
:)
she kindly leaned over and told me that it was old skool
heh
not that that is always bad
and that one kim mitchell in the world was enough lol
hahah
though i see(he lives here) even old kim is wearing it short now
http://www.food.com/recipe/pork-roast- 53010 crossy, what do you think of that recipe? I'm thinking of making it for dinner when Tom comes home on Thursday
why did i think you were a veggie?
i am, bet he's not, and i needed room in the freezer, so one of the roasts had to come out
lookin dc...
er, but he's not :)
oh okay
besides, there's at least 2 more pork roasts in the freezer :)
Evening Pig roasters and non pig roasters.
sounds perfect dc,remember to add small quartered peeled onions and peeled quartered med sized taters into the pan as well for a one pot meal and do yorkie pudding and yer all set
evening, red
hi red
besides, i think pork is yucky
i was going to do that, and some carrots too, crossy
I like the little pearl onions.
mmmm pork roast
Not a pork fan myself, though I do enjoy bacon.
i don't think carrots do well with pork roast
carrots do well with beef.
hm. cnabbage then :)
i do prefer beef roasts over pork, but beef costs heaven and earth here
cabbage is a super veg, the purple kind?
no no cabbage either -- onions and potatoes -- celery if you insist
jmc there has to be a veg that is semi healthy in there, Onion and potatos are not really veg.
but what's pork w/out cabbage? those went hand-in-hand growing up, esp in the form of sauerkraut
use nice sweet valencia onions if you have any
this grid is tough!
I would think cabbage goes well with pork
it is indeed, shirlock
dc, put in what you want
sauerkraut is good
i find corned beef is best with cabbage myself
hi Peri!
hi peri
<==opinionated about food
we eat a lot of cabbage -- him with corned beef, both of us in stir-fry, i use it as a snack sometimes
i am making old fashioned toad-in-the hole tonight;) with green beans and mashed
I like cabbage.
though I have not had any in a while. I am stariting to return to regular food again after a few weeks of junk eating.
i like raw cabbage
hi red!!
hi jmc!
Hi Peri! How is the kitty doing?
what is toad in the hole cross??????
she is doing fine, red, thanks for asking
good to hear.
ugh this grid is not easy 67 left.
to4 in the hole? What's that?
it is not a nice grid, red
oooh now 66 thanks DC.
35 left here and I am struggling
the american version is an egg fried in a hole in a piece of bread
i think the british version is yorkshire pudding and sausages
lol,im sorry dc,yorkie pudding mix and farmer saussages
i was just googling :) never had either variant
i often herb and spice the mix,and sometime serve with gravy
gravy...
if you make, always remember to grease the pan,and cook it hot or it will be doughy
mmm gravy
alas, I am dieting this week, not too fun.
i have 9 left. and they're all k's. i think i hate k's. a LOT.
go brid go!
thx!
crossy is still fighting for last few for half way;(
not liking the ti words

23 K words? are u kidding me?
i have 12 of the Ks :) just found a ko4/5
ke5/20 is like a game played with little logs i think
that is just what I said monkey
that is just what I said monkey
kn4/9 and kn4/8
brid, ks are ka-4, ke-9, ki-6, kn - 2, ko4 (if I counted right) Which ones are you missing?
the ko 4/5 combo rhyming with the no song that you sing at christmas was my last find.
thx.
whoo hooo brid!
stupid ks :)
ko5/28 sounds like/rhymes a word to describe a penny, a nickle a dime - with a vowel on the end
ditto brid
The ko/4 rhymes with Dorothy's little dog in Wizard of OZ
any clues before i go?
lower left O?
i have the butter one
ol4margarine
i don't have the other

Back from a lovely dinner...
Hello Jellen! How are you? Welcome back to the chog!
George, I have also been up in the early hours of the morning due to not being able to sleep. Hate insomnia
hi jellen
I find a cup of chia is very helpful to falling asleep
Insomnia has become my new best friend!
(or a warm brandy)
One morning I was up til 4:00 am
Thank God for Babble to pass the time (evening) away
I have heard that the scent of Jasmine is supposed to help, has anyone tried it?
If anybody was here at 2:00 this morning, I was here!
lavender is the herb for sleep
I keep erratic hours because of travel
Lavender is for relaxing and Jasmine is for sleep is what I read. I spray my pillow with lavender, but I don't have any jasmine
I am not sure if it is insomnia, or I am subconsciously thinking about Babbleland in my sleep so I wake up so I can see how big the puzzle is; or maybe it is both.
never heard that about jasmine -- chamomile tea is good for sleep but dangerous for asthmatics
I also read that staring at a computer screen keeps you awake. something about the type of light it emits??
I have chamomile tea, I'll have to try that next time
hmmm i manage to fall asleep with the computer
reading a book often works for me
brb
especially a boring one
but some nights nothing works....
i can't find anything that supports the theory that jasmine is for sleep -- maybe because they gather the flowers at night is where that idea came from
I read it in the local paper the other day jmc
My alternative health doctor suggested the last thing you eat be a protein to help with sleep. I have a piece of string cheese.
anyone else wanna play letterblox? peri seems to be having trouble connecting with me. http://tinyurl.com/39trt4y
want to pick at this a bit more feather. ..
i always have a snack of a toasted wheat english muffin with peanut butter, and a glass of milk. i'm in a rut, but i like it.
i will give it a go
yay je!
ruts are good for sleep
i rarely have trouble falling asleep. i guess ruts are good!
:( someone teased me, came in and then left. *sniff sniff*
ne6?
my problem today has been with staying awake
The ne6/18 is Ne**** Mandela (african leader) Shirlock
thx min
yw
I'll have to make another omgpop account, feather, trying to get rid of the one I have now, lol! after that, yeah, I'll play letterblox whenver I can, it's good, that!
whenever, that shoulda been!
except for the ads. that's annoying!
oh yeah, are they ever!! wish we could get rid!?
I HATE the advertisements when they cover the chog
No one seems to know how!
I would have a pro account just to get rid of the adverts if I could, don't think ya can though?
no, cos I don't think you can!!
Oh, I didn't go pro yet.
the adverts are why it's provided free, you know how that goes!
dunno if you can go pro on there??
it has a lot of pop-up stuff and seems a bit annoying. would prefer to just play the game. babbleland is so much nicer!
Yes, Babbleland is 100 times nicer! I save Letterblox for when I'm already done with grid or have given up.
me too
become a "star", and then you avoid ads.
clues for the a in bottom right?
male deer hav an6s
sing an ar4
ar5 -- woman or man's name, littel mermaid
How do you become a "star" on Letterblox. Is it after you get up to certain level on Letterblox featherbee?
if he were any ar6, he'd be kandinski
up the an4
that's all i have from there
ty dc
an5 -- not an *** , a chemistry term
i think you can pay to be star, or you get 10 of your recruits up to level 10 in the game.
well an5 is oppositely charged ***
how do you become a star?
oh well that is not worth it to me then
ty dc
they do want you to recruit!
ty dc
My focus won't be to become a star as my focus here is not to maintain good rankings. Just play it for fun.
my focus is more the chat because it adds to the fun
They should offer an incentive like a dollar for every person you recruit. I think some of you would be rich
Hi all, how is Babbleland tonight?
hi wht
Hi jmc
have you tried it Minver?
le 5&6?
Does anyone have a clue for the last an6/18? The one after the bet?
oh is that how, feather? ha! not working for me!!
Yes, I have. I kicked ass playing non-babblers. Then I played babblers and they kicked my ass! But still fun!
an6 is on deer's head
le5 is a slow portion of music. The 6 is plural
I kind of like the quickie of it...
to give temporarily plus vowel
le5/10 is le4/4 plus a vowel and then plural it pythonx
6 is pl
An an6/18 word is what deer have on their heads wht
got it, ty
ty python. Good thing they don't grow on fish.
lol
would make it hard to swim
a bit of drag, for sure
the angler fish sorta has a horn
i play it when i'm bored, or don't feel like doing the grid. like now.
i have recruited a lot, but that's not the reason i come here to ask...i just prefer to play against babblers rather than strangers!
feather!
and good evening all!
hi dan
hi dan
yeah, of course, feather, same here--play with m8s on there and the online scrabble as well
i am happy to try from time to time feather

hi everyone! hey feather, wanna play letterblox?
Hello dan2bit!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

hey jellen {{{{many hugs}}}}
I have reached my goals for the evening (halfway and nbt) so thought I'd just enjoy chat for a bit...
well done Jellen!
(((hugs))) back!
k's killed.
I have about ten minutes left to get to halfway, then must go work on supper
wd, wht!
go wht go!
I had a delicious pasta dinner...is there pasta you can enjoy, stid?
mmmmm. I love pastas. I eat a lot of whole-grain brown rice pasta, in my opinion it is the closest in texture and taste to farina flours.
there we go! halfway!!!!
will chat until tom returns from the indisposition room...
I think we are making tamales tonight.
I also have a recipe from Mother for pickled beets (which I can start tonight and eat tomorrow)
and jam/jellies tonight also...
I wish I liked food preparation...
and at some point we will sit to watch a TV show and eat the rest of the peach and blackberry cobbler...
I LOVE this time of year!
I wish I liked standing more... LOL or had a better workspace for sitting for food prep. My back hurts when I stand to cook too much.
Anyone heard from Lickety?
of course, making food means someone has to eat it...
no peach... why?
*worried mama look*
Just hoping everything is ok with his family.
Lickety made a post on Facebook sometime today...
Oh, thanks, Jellen.
oh oh... I will go check fb and then go cook. (((jellen))) see you-all later if I can! *poof*
What did he say???
It was, a picture and "dinner tonight...yummm"
for those of us without FB, could someone tell us what Lickety said?
I am thinking of giving up all this; without Lickety, it's just too damn much pain...
there's a list in Min and Gremlinn's profile, erda
Yeah, I know == still too much pain
I mean, so you "get" some of these ludicrous words -- so what?
p's polished

Hi, jmc...
hi jell *waves*
I'm so hooked on the Stephanie Plum series...
what is that?
I picked up books 11 and 12 today because I'm already halfway through #10...
are they mysteries?
Jellen, I was up till about 15, and then she got so crazy! Let me know when you finish the latest.
It's a series about a female bounty hunter who stumbles onto mysteries...
Have you read her others? The Kinsey Milhone series?
ah
clues for the te7/8 please
I have read kinsey milhone
te 7/28 is te 4/4 plus a tiny particle and plural it wht.
The situations she gets in are hilarious and scary at the same time...suspend your disbelief at the door...
if she'd quit with the Stephanie Plums, she could write another for Kinsey. No fair! ;)
ty Min.
About the same writing style...

Hi, Jilly
Hi jmc!
Hi Jellen!
hi jilly
Although my ma4/5 goal today was to finish the grid, I have given up on this grid.I didn't ma4/5 it to FWs. It is ra 4/4 for me to finish big grids. This grid was a pa4/5 in the butt and was not a piece of ca4/9 to do Now I will le 4/5 a hand w/a story as a to 5/18 of my appreciation for those who helped me today. I didn't da4/5 to try to finish grid or I would be up all night. I got to 156 words with help from ki4/9 babblers.I was busy today with several er6/21s. I went to the store and bought three CD's,Mark Kn**fler Dire Strait CD,a Ne 6/18 CD and Lady Gaga's Po5/20 Face CD. Then I bought mi4/6 traps for unwanted visitors. After that I went to grocery store and bought some ol 4/4, one white on5/10 and two green on6/18, and ri4/5 Pilaf. Then I bought some pa5/12 for my hubby who's going to be a pa7/32 and pa 5/12 our bedroom. After that, I bought a pa4/5 of shoes for the beginning of school year. Then I went to Pa 4/5 University to pick up an application. Then I got my car windows ti4/4ed. Then I bought a tr5/18 for my niece. My shopping bags put my hubby into a ra 4/4 and he po 5/12 out to me in a nasty to 4/4 that I spent too much money today. He te 4/5s to get irritated whenever I go on a shopping spree. My hubby and I have to4/4 of arguments over Babble or money. After our little spat, I made sl 4/5py Joes for dinner. Now I'm do 4/5 with my story. I hope you've taken no4/5 of my clues and were able to find some ma 4/5 words. Da4/5! Hubby, whose name is Mi 4/9, wants computer.I'll sure4/5er computer to him. In the in7/32,I'm going to go do 4/5 on my dog whom I have been ignoring. Not sure if I'll be back because I am very ti4/4d. So Goodbye for now. See you later on
Think I'm going to play poker for a while...
Just found the ti7 is that what you get when featherbee goes on a tirade ( I am thinking of her other nickname besides weed)
You will be playing po 5/20 in the Penalty Box Jellen.
lol, wht
Well, it's clear this is not a fw grid for me, will play for awhile, but have early work hours tomorrow and will go to bed early.

Hello bekki! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
you can grind the basil and freeze it with olive oil and then make the pesto later
hi bekki

Barbie and Ke* are **lls
thanks, bunches
10 k's to go ..
+ 76 others ..
8 k's + 123 others... why did I start this grid?
The stats are in my profile and on BabAnon for anyone who wants them.xx
A journey of 211 miles begins with 23 k words ..
I can also be here to clue for a while.
did you get'm tor?
Of course sometimes you get halfway to the street and go back inside ..
sometimes you just take a nap and dream about taking the first step
No, no progress in the last five minutes ..
Whilst my step-daughte was hanging around out the back with her camera, hoping to get shots of the foxes, my son was photographing them idling around out front. LOL.
That's life! Just like Babble grids.
:)
Some days you get the bear, and some days theEEEEEAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Torg - Yup!
Any clues needed before I wander up the wooden hill to bed?
not for me thanks
I'm just gonna get a few more words and go to bed myself
83 clues please ..
hi all, any clues for the 8s?
Torg - okay. I may be able to give you a few. Details?
What BDG said ..
in8 = plural of how the car seatbelt acts to save you.
po 8/45:plural of the po 7/32 word Book Doctor Gwen
okay, people, if i had the 7s that the 8s are plurals of, i would not be askin' fer clues!!!!! (sheesh) LOL
po8 is the plural for the armour breastplate of a horse.
po + as you like ** + mother father sister brother are ***atives
Good clue, nrkii.
meh, I don't like spelling them out, but that one seemed to need it... or a lot of monkeys
jac, I'm not getting the in8
brain fuzzy
finally got the po 7 8 TNX
te8 - plural of the te7 = a group of 3.
nrkii - it is th Latin plural of the word.
ohhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks!
I had that 7 :)
That means you add an 'e' rather than an 's'.
it's the not-getting-off-the-couch-to-go-to-bed word
yep, got it
thanks
y/w
Right ..
Thanks ..
Any more?
Got the te7/8 TNX
group of 3... group of 3... hmmmmm
tr + 2 vowels, nrki.
ohhh, tr?
I was looking for te7 and te8
That should lead you on to 11 words.
o_0
no luck on te7 so far
te7 and plural 8 are a sea eagle + electrrical positive or neagative i**s.
da**mit! thank you
I was trying that but with a T in the middle instead of an N
must have tried that same wrong word 10 times
y/w, dammit Janet! LOL
Thanks for the remedial clue .. durr
te7: sea bird + charged particle
Okay, glad ou got it. Off to zzzzz now. Happy Babbling all.x
OY finally found the in7/8, TNX
bye jac!
just 96 more to go . . .
nights jacula
aw, no po5s for "ponk"
ti 7, please
5 k's and 42 others to go
