I tried that too George. I fi4/8 my ex in the grid a lot.
ah, thx jess, a fave of dart's and mine
yw diz & jilli
oh yeah, jessmom? glad to know someone else did besides me, ha!
i tried it too george....
well, he would have to be the du8!
oh yeah, I've posted a new blog, with a couple clips we shot in my room in Tel Aviv the night before last, Jill, also another one of me talking in my house, before we left, vote-whoring as my sis says, lol!
good to know, sammysmom!!
yeah, jessmom -- but that won't work either!

thanks dart. we had a fun time. wish you could have been here, too.
ah, worth a try. god bless the queen. see you when the germans attack again!
where did you guys have your meetup?
<< rolls eyes
Olympia, Babs.
suppose you think your clever, lemon?
ty...would have been a bit of a drive tho
how many of you got together in Olympia? Sounds like fun!
was that boxcars you rolled, george? and is that good if you did?
in all modesty, yes.
nbt
I know dart, I have this random dream that I pretend that I have Bill Gate's credit card for a day and I buy a new jet from Boeing and fly all my babble buddies here for a three-day Babble symposium...
go jill go!
now that would be something :)
wouldn't that be nifty! LOL we could have so much FUN!
he6/7
<-- emerges from grid. Hi stid!
hey jill!
thanks jessmom
yw
eh, stid??
I mean, if you are rolling your eyes... like craps shooters roll dice... are boxcars (2 6s) a good thing?
*wicked too late still up mama look*
stid's gone gaga
eh? don't see the connection, but then I'm more or less asleep with my eyes barely open -- if you can picture it!
yeah, is that it, jillibus??
Ga Ga's a strange one, she is! lol!
sorta
thanks for that professional opinion, jill!!!! rofl
Lady G? Sure is.
sorta, Jill? go into my blog I posted after getting home from the Brit Awards -- at the end of it's a clip where I'm talking about her, you'll see, ha!
need that lower D please Jill?
yeah and that's putting it mildly!
climb up from that D, stid
de 4 stid
on top of the fact that she can't sing really
hi ruru
hey ruru
hi everyone
your favorite word is in the grid jilli
eh, yeah she sure can, ruru -- and play piano like you wouldn't believe, but she concentrates too much on being a freak and shocking everyone!!
one of mine is
yes -- 2 versions -- dart likes them too ;)
she has real talent a lot of folk don't realise!
she doesn't impress me vocally
I've seen and heard her, just her singing and playing the piano, she's amazing when she does that!
did you see the other version, dart?
yrp...got th4 both right away :)
yep that is
thought you would :)
yrp will do ;)
thit
lol
anyti4 i see a lot of i's and a d i look for that...a lott of a's and an L i look for aaliii
:)
aalii...can't type tonight
3 eyes would be weird on a plant
yeah, use that as a vowel dump word in scrabble!
oh, lovely term -- vowel dump!
only if you are flushed with vowells
oh! thanks jill. was off following a thread...
(((ruru))) how is your friend who was getting chemo (and you took her dinner that one night)
here he goes...
jill's favorite word? martini is in the grid???
I take her dinner most nights
now now!
the truth comes out? :)
* late flip *
she is doing okay..chemo sucks
oh! I didn't know that *looks for ruru's halo in punland for polishing*
hi pini!
ha, yeah, just like if you don't have enough vowels, then your consonantipated!! lol!
hi jilli ;)
haha, geo!
PINI! you will be SO proud of me! my teacher wrote back, and I just sent the times we can meet to the faculty supervisor... Not going to waste ANY time any more this weekend. *turbo mama look*
rofl george!
then someone would disemvowel you I guess
YEAH!!!! well done, stid!!!
yeah and in need of a vowel movement!! ha! can't take credit for it though, a m8 of ours said it in a scrabble game we were playing!
how are you doing this evening? I had a very therapeutic and lovely evening with a few classmates! It was nice to be able to talk and not have to watch every last thing I say.
I'm off, goodnight all
not doing too bad...hoping to sleep in tmw morning - one last time before going back to work ;)

that sounds ni4, stid
ha, ha!!
oh! and pini and jill -- I went on the trampoline at my friend's house. Was reluctant at first because of the hip, but decided Tom was right there to fix me if needed (it was). So I was brave today TWICE.
yeah, that's what I wondered when I saw that!
you rock, stid!!!
I used to love trampolines, but *shrug* at least I tried it so now I can be honest when I say it's not a good activity for me.
<-- shakes head in wonderment at stid
:-D thanks pini (((many many hugs))) I model myself after people like I find here in Babble...
so... I am off to fold laundry and be domestic for one last day before Tom goes to work and I head in to school... see you-all again tomorrow! *poof*
nite stid
night stid! *hugs*

this grid could use a few more vowells
It could use a remake altogether
only 40 % of the tiles are vowels

not really, george -- everyone likes ni8
godlike beings for the 7
wear your ni8 with your niceshirts and nicecoats
any clue for that?
cos I can't see any ni8 word??
thanks dart
grem! ni4shirts etc...
many of the long words have the same ending
oh thanks, gremlinn -- never knew those were words!?
phantoms: deicide, dietetic
ha, never mind, I'm too tired
yeah, I do know that ni8 word!

hi guys
hi sandy
I went into Lickety to change the font size, was too large and couldn't get back into Babble
didn't manage to get the font smaller either!!

29 left and I'm off to bed - for real this time, goodnight everyone
back an hour later. Will try to reach half before lunch!
anybody lurking or am I alone?
I am here - hello ruby
hello ursh
how is your weather? spring starting?
hi ruby
hello julie
early spring and very very dry and windy - i think wind is blowing away rain clouds
so we have the mid-morning contingent!
youngest glued to tv so thought i would make a start early
hows things with you this morning?
first 50 words were easy, I think the rest will be sloooow
got to 68 and slowing now yes
half way now at least so will be happy for now until later this evening if i get called away
83 now, almost half.....
waiting for nurse
lucky to get one on a sunday ruby
now it's only every other day. It's really chilly and I put on a very old dress, very exotic and timeless, which I'm sure husband hates. Also, dangly earrings! not my usual sweat pants and t-shirt! hahah
sounds lovely. im still in dressing down wasiting for coffee to work lol
we go out for lunch on Sundays, unfortunately to a nearby restaurant with lovely ambience (right on the lake), but terrible, pretentios food
tious*
not expensive, though, and they love my husband
we usually do the sunday roast bit, sundays usually family day with kids so if we go out its usually a picnic etc so they can wear themselves out
I bet your husband charms the waitresses
I have 90 so far still trying without the list
sounds a good place ruby
well done on finishing those puzzles ruby
when he had his heart attack last year and we missed one Sunday, the week we came back which was the week before they closed for the season, they comped our lunch. And everybody kissed us; it made me cry
I think they thought he wouldn't make it through the winter....
ooh that is gorgeous , and I thought the French were not like that
that is so sweet, you dont hear of nice places like that these days
they aren't. Now and then, they buy us an aperitif, but that has never happened before. We are, however, very regular and faithful customers
as we eat lunch out often
That is nice ruby, it sounds lovely where you live
the lkae (Annecy) is really beautiful and although we see it from our house, we are high up, and this restaurant is about a mile down the hill, right on the lake. Amazingly pretty and they have a section of the restaurant, out of sight of the rest, where people have lunch right off their boats, frequently in bathing suits.
do you have goodleearth?
that's goodleEarth
i do on my phone ruby
I can get it, and that would be great so what is your village called?
Annecy, then head SE toward Veyrier then route de Thone and route de Morat
we are in between those two roads and the house is pink. It gets so low, you can practically see the dogs!
village is Veyrier du Lac
it is so beautiful here that it makes all the other hardships much less important
I bet it does
and there is no place in the US which is affordable which is nearly as nice
half! used a French word , me6/21, for the 87th
yeah, that actually works!
I thought of it then thought na, that's French!
thats a big lake ruby
hahah, george, you never know and I always try
yesterday I kept trying moins...
yeah, well ta for telling us coz I wouldn't have entered it otherwise!
it's big and very cold and deep and too clean!
do you swim in it?
and they've taken away most of the marshy bits and eliminated more than half of the water birds
I try lots of French words, some of 'em work but I never thought that one would, coz it's not commonly in use in the English language as some of them are!
never! too cold and I sink like a stone in fresh water -- spoiled by the ocean in Miami, 85F and clean
(sandy cant think of what it could be)
how far are you from the ocean, sandy?
kind of profession.....
like the celestial body but change one vowel
about 10 mins from the farm and same from our house Perth has some of the best beaches in the world -
sharks?
hmmm, since they banned whaling, we have a lot of big white pointers coming along the coast - so yes
why isn't undie a word?
i tried that one
Miami beaches are calm and clean and the biggest things are leopard rays, harmless and beautiful EXCEP when it's man-o-war season and then no swimming
because would be to easy
I have been to the beach in from Deltona in Florida it was nice
how close in do the sharks come?
I think I've seen too many movies!
im going to get dressed etc, should be back later depending on how mad day goes. happly babbly all
we have a very trendy beach (North cottesloe) with a lovely cafe which overlooks it -One morning a shark took a man in waist deep water - he died -everyone in the cafe saw it happen - fortunately this is not a common occurrence
bye julie
that is incredible, Sandy!
bye g&j
It was terrible
do they have shark nets protecting the beach now? like they do in South Africa?
No we dont - we have helicoptor patrols in the summer - it is very unusual for an attack- statistically we have more shark attacks in our river
nothing like that in Atlantic beaches (I don't think) but people were attacked by a school of blue fish in Rhode Island. They were feeding, though, not try to attack people
are you a good swimmer?
I am an excellent swimmer, I love the water and do a lot of snorkeling
I used to snorkel in the Bahamas, but in water that was only about 3 ft deep as I'm no swimmer
I have snorkeled on the outer barrier reef in Queensland (out of sight of land) where a shark bigger than me swam by - nearly close enough to touch
as a good swimmer, you must be able to see wondrous fish while snorkeling
I loved it and wasnt afraid-I could see his eyes following me as he swam by
once, a boyfriend took me down to the keys and we went snorkeling off a boat over a reef, but he held my hands the whole time so it was OK
wow, I think my heart would have stopped!
the barrier reef -expecially the outer reef- is beyond amazing
I've seen photos and travel programs about it; it must be fabulous!
I was completely awestruck by the beauty and colour of it
you are very brave
do they have glass-bottom boat tours?
strange experience to remember, but I felt no fear only amazement at seeing such a creature so close up
it's a great experience to have in your memory!
I think they do have those in the areas closer in- where we went took six hours in a boat to get there, it was a long way out to sea
do your girls swim? and husband?
it was a very rough day , but you can go closer in and swim off the pontoons they have moored
Good morning, just here for few minutes but could I get a clue for ri6/27, please?
it sounds magical
Every one here gets taught to swim before they go to school even, Bruce does scooba diving as does my sister
don't have it marc but good morning anyway
dont have it either sorry marc
they tried to teach me, but I was unteachable. And my mother was a good swimmer!
yeah, I have it
and my eldest daughter also scooba dives
means most ri4/7, Marc
My mother was raised on a sheep station and never even saw the ocean until she was 14- she can swm now but wont go over her depth
ty george
yw ruby
I could teach you ruby, I am very calming
I waon't go past my waist unless somebody is holding my hand!
I think I'm too old!!!!
LOL you could learn in an indoor pool
You are never too old
and you are not old anyway
when I come to Australia, I'll make sandwiches for you in the boat while you're snorkeling! When I used to sail, I was the one who could go below and cook while everybody else was seasick!
my sister has a 35 ft catermaran which we sail over to a nearby island and stay the weekend
Hi everyone. Just read back a little in the chog, and sandy I have snorkelled off the barrier reef, about 12 miles out off Cape Tribulation. It was amazing.
if there is any money left at the end, once those near and dear are departed, I'll start travelling again!
you gals are amazing!
Sally, I found it one of my life's great experiences, it was truly amazing
I am a chicken little city woman!
It was on my "must do" list when we visited Australia.
Time is aways a factor Ruby, you have to have plenty of it
"bucket list"
did you like Aus Sally?
Thanks Goerge finally got it.
Yes, we sadly only had three weeks but planned it all ourselves (well I did!) and did an incredible amount.
your welcome, Marc!
Ruby, you have to be adventurous
Would love to go back but don't know that we ever will.
now my adventure will be making a Campari for mr. nasty! see you later
{{hugs to all!}} *poof*
hi all
late flip for me!
bye ruby - and you should be careful what you write in the chog!
Sal, did you just go to the east coast?
hi m9
hello
hah hah, sally! {{sally}} for caring about me!
there is so much to do on the east coast, I love it over there, Here in the west there is a lot to do but the distances are great and you need a lot of time
Yes sandy. Started in Sydney, then went over to T's cousin's sheep station near (for an Australian version of near) Sofala in NSW the other side of the blue mountains, then flew up to Cairns and took the train up to Kuranda, then back to Cairns, hired a car and went up to Cape Trib where we spent a week, then back to Cairns, returned the car and went back to Brisbane to fly home.
ruby, I'm serious. I've read the chog over the past week looking for something and have been staggered (a) at Babble's kindness over two Babblers in dire straits and (b) at someone's nastiness in sending a Babbler's postings (you will know who I mean) when she was talking about leaving her husband and going to USA, to her husband.
Sounds like a good trip - I love Sydney and have been there a lot and also to queensland which is very beautiful as my sis in law lives near noosa
I know about that Sally and it does make you nervous , you do have to be careful
You miss a lot if you don't read back in the chog! I also saw a reference to someone sending a nasty email to Sprite (Sprite, of all people) in another babbler's name. Then I see the good that was done a week ago and I think not all is bad.
But 99% of people are good especially on this site
Sally, I agree. I think people sometimes give out information when it's neither necessary nor wise.
The warmth that came out over the two Babblers in distress (paticularly the first one) brought me to tears.
I remember when that happened , and I was amazed at that too, Sprite of all people did not deserve that
me too Sally
It was sent to sprite, supposedly in my name and was probably an attack on both of us.
hi Haz
So I shouldn't know about your op then Haz? Which I wouldn't have known about if I hadn't been searching for something quite unrelated.
Thankfully, after a great deal of distress on sprite's part, it got straightened out.
Was it in your name? I didn't remember that bit. I was just so horrified that such a thing should happen.
Haz most people are very good on this site, you must admit
And are you well again now Haz? Still being waited on hand and foot I hope.
Well, the op I reckon is fit to be known about, but I would never go into intimate medical details.
but it is the few that spoil it for the many
Waited on? I'm absolutely fine, back to normal in every way.
The e-mail, which was anonymous, was sent from an e-mail address nicely doctored to look as though it had come from me.
Most people here are fine, I'd just be careful over what one malevolent spirit can do.
I think someone's idea for having a "news" column separate from the chat in the new Babble is absolutely brilliant. I just couldn't believe what I had missed by not having time to chat in the last week.
Without asking for clues <g> did you ever work out who it was?
when is the new babble coming and where do I find out about it?
have our suspicions i think
I've always said that there should be a rolling transcript of news, it would save on people constantly asking for updates, especially when maybe people don't want to repeat a story again and again.
Dr-G is making announcements on the Babble Community group on Facebook, but no dates yet.
I never found out who it was and decided that I shouldn't try to be Miss Marple because I would get nowhere.
Yes Haz, especially if it is a distressing story they have to repeat.
no one will ever know i think
I have been to that but couldn't really find anything out, must try again
No, sprite destroyed the e-mail, quite rightly, so it's in the past now.
Nothing posted recently, but there are a few little videos about how certain things will work.
I know people ask out of concern, but I do feel for people who are being asked continually how they are. Sometimes it's not nice to be defined by a problem.
I think Jellen had the right idea by putting updates in her profile.
Yes, I do too. It gives the information people are looking for and it means you can keep abreast of how she's doing without always bringing it up. She appreciates being treated normally, I think.
hi all
how's the grid?
Hello, ardilla.
It's a civilised grid, ardilla.
is lickety's up?
good
Hi ardilla.
It is. Your day is complete!
yahhh, taking a small babble break from packing :)
Packing isn't a favourite activity, I take it?
not when it's an entire apt
it's hard to stay motivated
Oh, ghastly. You deserve a break.
kitchen's nearly done
Are you staying in Japan or moving back to US?
Are you being ruthless and throwing out stuff or is everything being packed away?
(Love the kimono by the way)
actually moving to Spain
Wow, that will be quite a contrast.
You'll be hearing lots of the old Spanish cheer (ole) much beloved of babble cluers.
trying to packing everything worthwhile away and throwing out the clutter
thx
*sally
Yes, the kimono is something and those cherry blossom look so typically Japanese. Are you sorry to be leaving?
yes and no
just been looking at that new babble thing, I hope I will like it-
i'm ready for something new, but i'll miss the friends i made here
Of course you'll like it, sandy. Australian perfect wives are adaptable.
what new babble thing?
*gortmold barges into conversation* what new thing?
Oh you found it sandy, Good. I think we don't have to use some of the changes (like flipping the board) if we don't want.
Hopefully you'll settle down well in Spain, ardilla.
hi gort
thx haz
hi ardilla hi haz his sandy
I don't know how long you've been in Japan, ardilla, but do you speak good Japanese now? And how is your Spanish!
The new thing - new features are to be introduced to babble to bring it a bit more up to date. You get ejected from your seat every time you enter a wrong word.
It'll teach people to be careful.
We will be able to mute the trolls.
that sounds terrible - i'll have to babble standing up
That would be Endurance Babble.
lol haz, how do you know about it?
my japanese is okay, not as it should be after 2 years in okinawa
I'm making tha bit up.
*that
Dr God has set up a Babble Community group on Facebook where he has been posting updates and ideas.
my spanish is better since i took classes and know some italian
oh, don't have facebook
ohhh...i don't have a face, so i guess i miss out
i like the idea of muting trolls
Seriously, Dr-G asked for feedback and suggestions and is tweaking the site. Mind you, it seems ages since he started talking about it.
wonder how that works (troll muting that is)
I don't use it much but occasionally it's useful. I really don't want to read what everyone's had for breakfast every day.
I think you can mute anyone, not just trolls. Days when you're feeling anti-social you can just turn everyone off.
has someone suggested grid flippage?
Sally, I think we think alike.
Yes, that's one of his ideas.
what are the others?
Somebody must have, presumably thinking that a different perspective will help you see more words.
Hang on, I'll go and look at the other suggestions for those not on FB.
thanks sally
the few ti4s i've been anti-social, i just dove into the grid and didn't surface
The clues list is going to be incorporated in some way.
thx sally
ooohh goody, does that mean we get lickety even when lickety is awol?\
Yes, when I'm feeling anti-social or murderous, I hide the chat log.
Yes, I think that's the idea, gortmold, although it may be in a slightly different form.
i've never worked out how to do that, how do you hide it haz?
I'll be honest, being a computer wide-eyed in wonderment onlooker, I have exactly no idea how it's all going to be done.
There's a button, second from right - Hide/show chat field.
Different colour themes (which I think are going to be optional because there were howls of protest at some of the suggestions), a different layout, pop-up clues if needed.
hide the chog i mean, haz
Between my friends and show entire chat log (up above)
yeah pressing that doesn't seem to make any difference to me
You're right. It used to.
i've tried it many times and the chat just keeps scrolling on
Do you have Babble Expert?
Rotate grid, direct mail (with a you've got mail id), ask for a clue, give a clue, clickable letters (will be iPad friendly).
Hello everybody. :-)
yes i do haz
Hello, Soodle.
i like the color scheme idea
it is interesting no doubt, and (possibly a controversial comment) I would like to see Dr God make some money out of it, after all I sometimes feel guilty about what a good deal I got when I joined babble, lots of value there
happy b-lated b-day soodle
Then, use the yellow bar to the right and bring it across and hide the chat log.
Think that's about it so far from a quick whizz through the photos and videos.
I'd happily pay some more money as well, Sally.
If I want to hide the chat I sometimes just click on Who's Online which hides it.
yes i spose that'll do it haz, tho right now, i'm happy to chat
Oh, that's true, or my friends would work as well.
Yees, Haz, in theory - but when we paid it was for lifetime membership. I think Dr-G is hoping to attract new members to the site, but so far as I can see most of them arrive through word of mouth.
yah, got a di6/7 combo
have to have dinner bbl
We've had occasions when it's been advertised on some website or other and there have been quantities of new people initially, but then interest seems to fade for most.
Bye sandy.
bye sandy
My stepdaughter was very keen when she stayed recently, and signed up for the trial membership but has never had time to play. I hope she does soon.
phantom: undies
One of my suggestions to Dr-G was that there would be an animated help section which would explain everything. It's not a problem when one or two new people arrive and ask questions, but if lots do, then it can get tedious trying to explain.
It took me quite a long time to get into it. I managed two trial periods but re-signing on with husband's id because I wasn't sure. Also you all seemed to know each other in the chat and I felt shy about joining in.
Well, we're glad you overcame the shyness in that case1
I know what you mean, it took me weeks to join in as well.
I think in any group it can seem that everyone knows everyone else at first. There's another group I belong to which is especially welcoming to newcomers, even urging them, "now you've joined us, you can never leave" sort of thing. I think that's nice. Trouble is here when new people come it's very often to just ask a question at first. Worst still are the total strangers who just ask for a clue! Not even a please...
Lol. I bumbled around the grid for weeks. Then when I went to bed, all I could see were combinations of letters.... The old OCD kicking in....
Soodle that happened to me too. Morning all!
It's funny, there are so many variations in the way players play and the way chatters chat or stealth babblers babble.
I was so bad at it when I started soodle! Some people are very purist about not using lists, or morewords, but actually they help me to get the words next time.
sometimes i dream babble
well, gonna start packing again
bye ladies happy babbling
hi jayk
I'll admit to being purist about never asking for clues and about the way things are clued.
Bye, ardilla, happy babbling.
lol, I don't dream Babble, but I knew I was in trouble when I visited grandson who had one of those mats on the floor made of the alphabet, and I found myself looking at it and forming words.
Apart from that, I'll happily use any and all resources.
Sally that is SO funny!
I very very rarely ask for clues, although I do make use of the ones offered!
Sad, isn't it Jayk.
Well, I am a 'List-Woman', with no apologies. I have also been know to beg for clues, not just ask. (shameless thats me!)
why not ask, sally?
It is.
Really gort because I find I don't need to. I will do absolutely as much as I can and then (depending on the size of the grid) use morewords and then list if I really need to.
I don't ask for clues because I reckon if there's a list, if there's morewords and if hints have been given in the chat log, the word can and will be found.
Yes, Haz, you have put it exactly.
Off to do stuff. Hope to be back later. Happy Babbling all... Poof
I don't mind people asking for clues, mainly because I like the fun of making them up, although the spoonfeeding can be annoying.
Toodle- Soodle.
If people do give clues, I do prefer giving the meaning of the word to the ones that practically spell it out.
(But I do still make use of them!) Funniest is where I log on, and get a word from a clue without even having looked at the grid.
Yes, I'm not so purist that I won't get words from clues given.
i like getting and giving all kinds of clues (good, bad, spoon-shaped, 3/4 of the word) and i love it when a "careless" babbler drops a pb word for me to scavenge :)
Okay, right now I need to get my soup pureed and tidy myself up a bit. Enjoy the grid!
Bye Haz. Been nice chatting.
cheerio haz
Bye!
back
Welcome back sandy. Hope you had a nice meal. No doubt being the perfect Australian wife you dolled yourself up in high heels to serve it.
Ha, Nicky and I are getting those diet meals delivered while husband is away LOL I need more wine!
lol sandy. Sounds perfect to me.
The meals are really nice and very fresh I must say - it is part of my plan to force Nicky to eat better
but I do need more wine ....and I have none
it means , healthy eating, no shopping as it is delivered, no dishes, no cooking
and I really think it will save money as it keeps me away from the shops
which one are you doing, sandy?
Trim a Weigh
haven't heard of that one
r u happy with it so far?
must be a west aus thing
How often do they deliver sandy?
who else does it?
i've heard of light 'n easy, and i think jenny craig does it delivery style, but i'm just spruiking 2nd hand info here
they deliver once a week, and the quality is excellent , the fruit is really fresh and nice as is the salad and we are getting the whole three meals a day
talk about lazy
not lazy, smart
wow sandy.
mind if i ask how much it costs?
Pity they don't deliver wine, but you could get that delivered too.
good while husband is away - gort we are doing 1000 cals a day (leaves me a little for wine) and it is 125 dollars per person for three meals and seven days
that is 3 per day - and Sal, wine can be delivered but not by them! LOL
that sounds very good
it is good, I spend more than that for food , way more, I am too extavagant with food shopping
so I figure , I am being an even more perfect wife , saving money while hubby away
yes, your wifely perfection seems to have become legend in the chog :)
Hello, All....are the `U`s fish?
and I truly deserve it
hi zooz, nice to see you

oh for crying out loud, what sort of word starts with kh?!
well its not khppi khoooy khmmite or others
lol, thank you sandy
lol
the kh 5 is a lot like the kh4
ah, well when you put it like that...
didn't want to make it too easy
wooops, g fasdfkj h a going squiggle eyed, better stop
cheerio sandy
tootles gort
Back from phone
I hate talking on the phone
it wastes a lot of time (unlike babble)
Means you can only do babble one-handed.
I do not believe there are 20 K words. I have 7 so far :-(
the k s are not hard sal, I got them all so they must be easy
Are you listing? I am trying to find them blind at the moment.
yes i am now
still finding a few on my own tho
drinking soda water out of my wine glass.............
Slice a lomon, some ice - sounds good.
sb slice of lemon
(sandy go and gets a lemon)
back from lunch
hello again
Hi ruby! Had gone to get a drink.
{{{{Rubes}}}}
hi ruby
{{soodle}}
you guys sound very rowdy! what's going on?
gort is very cute
you're all kidding on the kh's, right?
I have one, not the other
gort is funny
they are both very similar
just ad one letter for the five
Ah, had tried adding one letter in the middle. Got it. That's a word??
ok, got some k's, still 9 to go! (k's, that iw)
76 words left otherwise
for nbt, anything for the o?
Can't find definition for the kh5, will look later.
For the o, start with an exclamation and past tense it (oh 4/6)
I looked it up, it's a hebrew letter, actually spelled with an h!
ty sally!
And ty for the definition ruby!
and everybody knew that, hahah
I always think about the accents you guys have, hmmm
hello
hello ladyherin!
Accents? We don't have accents! You have an accent <g>
hello everyone
hahah, accent, moi??
hi annie
hi annie and herin
Hi
hi ruby, sandy, herin, sally
what accent? Not me.
I have no accent , ruby do you have a deep southern accent and sal ,,,maybe a geordie accent?
It's funny though sandy, I always imagine everyone on the chog speaking with an English accent, whatever the nationality. I remember when Haz met with Ata and FM, one of them said they had forgotten she would have had an Irish accent.
Hello. I had so much fun today
what did you do?
ki6/36 smooched with a lisp
Geordie? Moi? lol sandy. Totally wrong part of the country, and in any case I was brought up in the south, so have a Received English pronunciation (I think it's called). I talk posh for round here :-)
I have a NY accent in French, neutral in English
Had a lunch to welcome home my friends little one and she is so cute
thanks, ruby..ki6 you back
posh sally!
Not an American accent in English ruby? (to my ears I mean)
no such thing as neutral Ruby, you must have a yankee accent of some type
well, yes *blushing* but neutral considering where I'm from!
Herin and I are the only ones without accents then
brb
do you know the actor Edward Burns? He speaks like where I'm from, but, fortunately, I got rid of that
I sound more Aussie English than Aussie
here in the Pacific Northwest..we really don't have much of any accent
isn't that because you all come from elsewhere?
m9?
which is why most television reporters sound like they're from here.LOL
I sound more english than aussie
hi
Annnd We got to sing nursery rhymes and when we stopped there was howls of protests from the wee one
that is so cute!
cute herin
I sound New York
lucky you herin... babies are so wonderful
no I just dont have an accent at all
She is 6 mths. She loves the song This is the day we give babies away
don't know that one
I used to sound Queens, now just Northeast regional. It took me a whole semester to learn my r's and aw's
herin, that is such a ni4 age
This is the day we give babies away With a half a pound of tea You just open the lid, and out pops the kid With a twelve month guarantee. This is the day we give babies away With a half a pound of tea If you know any ladies who want any babies Just send them round to me
I pronounce my R but I still sound New York..like the accent
That's a lovely song herin, didn't know that one.
She has just come back from the hospital after being burned by a mug of boiling water
I've never heard that before, lady, please sing a little louder!
is the tune same as any other songs?
Oh god, is the baby okay...
I lived in Illionois for a year after college, that took care of NY for me.
It was an old folk song
where was she burned?
ruby, I dont mind my accent
1st husband was accent-neutral and 2nd one, too.
when you said welcome home little one I thought she was a newborn..
Actually, when I hear Edward Burns, I miss it!
Chest size of my palm and she has had an upper thigh skin graft. That looks like an angry red rectangle.
ruby, where were the hubbies from?
1st one from Elgin, IL and 2nd one from St. Louis
hence, no new york accent...lol
and neither parent was born in NY, mother came to Pittsburgh (from Ukraine) as an infant and father was born in Schenectady, so neither one had a NY accent
poor baby...
but my 1st Fr teacher was from the Bronx, so that colors my French
oh...poor baby!
just a question, not a judgement...is there anything wrong with a New York accent
She is very lucky she was wearing a nappy that was cloth.
that is awful about the baby!
She is recovering well and is always so damn cheeky. She even got a bravery award from the hospital.
no no, I miss hearing it (speak louder, Annie) but as a very young faculty wife, it would have made me too noticeable in Illinois
I tried really hard to blend in
I was much younger than everybody else
morning everyone
Hi Mongie
hello mongie!
what I fi4 funny or odd, is that everyone (well, most) wants to come to New York but noone wants to sounds like they are from New York
hi mongie
hi mongie
not any more, though, I think I'm a "senior" in hear!
here* duh
ruby .. couldn't help but read some of the chat ... I am from the midwest, and was told (bye a Chicagoan, no less) that I had an accent! Still don't know what he was talking about! lol
It was very cute seeing my b.f being used as a climbing frame by one of the four year olds
Chicago accents are distinctive (John Belushi, e.g.) and music to my ears
oops .. *by
and where I lived in upstate NY, the local accent made Mary, marry and merry all sound identical!
I am originally from Davenport, Iowa, and don't have a distinguishable accent. I think HE was the one with the accent! lol
Iowa is NBC neutral, I think, like Nebraska (Tom Brokaw)
yes!
that's why I was surprised to hear that I "had an accent"!
I think Iowa and Nebraska are sort of perfect, unaccented American English
Btw, I like Chicago accents, too. :)
when I traveled for work, it was good to be a little bit more neutral than Queens!
i used to have a friend of mine in tx say mary, marry and merry because she was the only person who i knew that could make them sound different
flaaaat a's
I agree, ruby.
hi JM
hi all
too funny jmc, we called that "the Binghamton test"
hi, jm
hi jmc
i always thought it was odd that walter cronkite and dan rather --both native born texans sounded like yankees
Hi Sally
hi mongie don't think we met before
I'm sure they learned it in school!
They probably worked at it, jm
snap, mongie
I have a friend here named Mongi, but he's from Tunisia!!!
they were told they needed to sound miswestern to go national
Jm, I am relatively new, and don't often chat. Couldn't resist the discussion of accents. :)
that was true for my work, too
nice to meet you mongie
I noticed Mongie before because of the name!
You too, sandyloo
lol, ruby
My blood sisters and I sound alike but I am more English than they are
rare name.
glad you jumped in -- we are only slightly crazy in the chog!
us, crazy? raofl
ruby ... my grandson used to call me "Mongie" when he was very young. It kind of stuck. :)
I am the conservative normal one
*puts on foil cap* well except for me!
there's a lovely Fr word in here, indice, but enable says no!
lol, jm
rolf sandy
that's sandy all right!!!!
too true
"Everyone's strange but me and thee, and even tha's a bit odd"
hello all
sandy ... who judged you the conservative, normal one?
hi TO
well... I'll come back later for my lst last ten
annie, I want to hear you speak! My son says there's a Google offer for 2 cents a minute
very similar to a quaker saying sally
well it seems that we may be heading into Spring. HI TO
everybody here, we took a vote
smarty pants m9!!! see you later
lol, sandy
so you were the only one on the chog at teh tii** sandy?
hi TO whoooo!
Ruby is the petit femme fatale
Jm is saving the world
in the day...... hahah
herin is our political correspondent
now I'm becoming a ghost
Temple Owl , we look to her for advice
<==*shaking in her boots as to what sandy will say about her*
she said it, you make peace! jmc
Jm already revealed that you are saving the world
oh well saving the day! *puts on cape*
*poof* (and Mary, Merry, and Marry DO all sound alike! well... merry sounds a leeeetle diff)LOL
And what do I do? (she says anxiously)
hahah m9!
sorry I missed it i was shaking so hard
bye m9
give wonderful advice, that's wise Sally!!!!!
rofl ruby. Only to others, not myself.
(and even occasionally followed!!)
Sally .... is our rural advisor and confidante
Puts up sign saying "Agony Aunt Sally is in"
you've helped me a lot!
given me patience, especially.....
Sounds like you pretty much have all bases covered, huh?
I know many of you have been on here for years.
that's really good if you mean it ruby
we are circling the globe with our collective sagacity!
morning all
you have yet to reveal yourself to us Mongie
plenty room for more
help with the i under the i pls
I only just discovered this site a few months ago.
hi peri
hello peri, how is Zoe-Anne doing? and you, also.....
morning peri
hi peri
peri, it 4 meaning a thing
I am well, ruby, enjoyed a lovey day at the beach yesterday. and Zoe-Anee is doing well too!!
mongie, how did you find babble?
sheesh, ty sally, feeling really stoopid
:-)
good news, peri
how are you, ruby and dh?
sandy .. it was mentioned on Wordsplay, an online boggle game.
dh is doing much better which reminds me, I had better go and see to him.....
I don't always have the patience, or time, to finish the grid, though.
ah we have gotten several people from wordsplay
ok...had trouble poofing. I'll be back later for last 5. sheesh. Hi and Bye Peri!!!
he is being obsequiously nice to me --- uh oh
aah, I found babble when I used to play tangleword (which is now defunct) someone mentioned it and I got caught up here ever since
some tanglers here too
I got it from sallyds whose daughter was an old friend of my son's
Yes ... used to play a lot with Mom Needs Help ... I think she changed her name here. But, haven't seen her in a while.
*tr*** to shove R one box over*
how long, sandy?
feb 2006 I joined
ruby just enjoy it -- in the pb
I've been on since Dec 09
she is now riverdance mongie
we all know river
pb? moi?
November 08 through stumbleupon
Oh, that's right, jm! I saw that some time ago. Has she been around? Haven't seen her on Wordsplay.
I really want a glass of wine but have none
she is around here often
6/18/2004 here over 6 years!!
that is a sad story sandy
hop on the next plane, unlimited supply around here!
wow, peri! that is a long time!
its this diet jm , they dont recommend alcohol
Wow Perri
you must have been a little kid!
there are people who have been here even longer
that is even sadder sandy -- is it working?
I was only 18 when I started
sandy ... what diet are you on?
That sounds a pretty bad regime to me sandy, but there may be wine in the pb
rolf the diet is affecting her brain
tough regime! my husband has a martini instead of equivalent food calories. I guess it works for him, he's certainly skinny
*runs to the pb*
not the brain, just the math! haha
jm, Nicky and I are getting those meals delivered while husband is away - 1000 cals a day -3 meals a day- 125 dollars each- no cooking no shopping no dishes and just a little wine
looking for the elusive wine
that is very expensive!
and is it working?
sounds like a good plan ... except the shortage of wine.
not enough wine for me - doing it mainly to encourage better eating for nicky
125 dollars for how many meals
that seems like a lot of money!
I have been on, and off, Weight Watchers. Always works, but I tend to regress to old eating habits. :(
3 meals a day for 7 days
And, I don't get enough exercise.
oh, I thought it was 125/day!
i spend about 80 per week on food so it depends ruby (lots of steak)
I don't eat much any more
i gave up sugar in am still a blob
mostly cook for husband and dogs
should cut back on steak
LOL Ruby, I usually spend about ....well a lot....on food every week much more than 250 which is what we are spending
but where is the fun in that?
steak here isn't worth eating
so as the 'perfect wife' I am yet again pleasing my husband
I used to eat a lot of meat but since I read Eating Animals, I've cut way back
you keep polishing that crown sandy == lots of exercise in that
Remind me not to read that book
Are you actually losing weight on this sandy?
it is a horrifying book
I am afraid to weigh myself - only do it about once a year
I seem to be having trouble with my computer. Nice to chat with you all ... I'll be back later, I'm sure. :)
just started sally - going away for a week next week, LOL - wont be on the diet then but nicky will so that is the main thing-
{{mongie}}
lol things like that make me want to go out and eat more meat -- i hate the manipulation
bye mongie
help with 9 and 8'spls
bye mongie
I want nicky to eat healthier and this is very healthy
the 9 is a re word, and so are two of the 8s
you're right JMC, but the choices here are not vast! even the pastries aren't very good
okay i am not getting nbt before meeting and i need to get stuff done for my barbeque this evening
good for you sandy
I find it amazing that people eat pastries and such for breakfast
ty Sally, thought so, I am looking ...
not an australian habit
heck ruby if i can cook good meals in hungary in the winter you can cook good meals there
entenmen's choco covered donut and yoohoo = new tork breakfast. breakfast of champions
i "eat" coffee for breakfast speaking of which. . . bye! *poof*
I used to, but too tired to bother for myself -- just risotto for the pups and spicy stuff for husband
hi TO and bye TO
I used to eat oatmeal for breakfast but recently became allergic which is very weird at my age!
Husband and I became alarmed in New York one morning when we found ourselves eating pink iced donuts and coffee for breakfast - we knew it was time to get outa there
ack Pirates of Penzance is on tv.
sounds well-balanced to me, sandy!
lol sounds perfectly normal to me!
that is really odd ruby
rofl sandy
miss dunkin' donuts!
I love Pirates herin am a big fan of g & s
*poof and hugs*
*sitting 8 miles outside of nyc this morning*
bye ruby
bye ruby
wave at the green lady for me, pls!!!
Are you hitch hiking TO?
lol no, visiting
Sandy ABC haS it on at 1030
ok, I might record it, I will be in bed then, getting beauty sleep and waiting for breakfast

:( ANnie
hi herin
Hello. I haven't gone any were
lol hi annie, they were dissing a fine ny breakfast of donuts!
good morning Sally Catlover and babblers.....
Hi Christa.
HI Owl..the cops favorite breakfast. At least in crime novels.
hi christa
d
It's funny, I could happily eat a croissant or a pain au chocolat (or two) for breakfast, but doughnuts with pink icing would not appeal :-)
the icing---definitely not!
annie: a sinker and a glass of yoohoo
Yoohoo is awful
What is yoohoo?
any yogi berra fan drinks yoohoo
A watery chocolate drink that tastes like chalk
chocolate drink
Eeew
yoohoo and pink snowballs .... my all time favorite, which I try not to eat for the last 15 years
no, no, it is good, it is good
I think I am the only Yogi fan that doesnt drink Yoohoo
yay christa!
yoohoo doesn't have a shelf date if that tells you alot about it
love snoballs
Um, yes Christa, think I have the picture.
see, now that i am here in yohoo land i will be forced to go to the corner store to buy one
Sounds like something vaguely medicinal.
lol
no sally, don'tlisten to them.
no sally, don'tlisten to them.
they eat snwoballs, what do they know/ ;D
it is getting so hard to find yoohoo in Phoenix, AZ
when you take a hem down, cant you dehem?
good morning Babblers :)
howdy nono
Hi Nono
Hi Anyone I missed
Annie I agree with your discription of yoohoo! I tried it once and found it totally disgusting
thank you, nono...
it doesn't tkae like chocolate. it tastes like yoohoo.
and so if you drank it growing up the taste stays with you. it's nearly fat fre and not sickly sweet.
I just had to look that up and that looks kind of nasty
of course it does.
I thought If you called it diary it has to be dairy
I like the bacon chips that are really soy
not called dairy
Yoo Hoo was yummy.
definitely not a dairy product
but does contain whey which is dairy
but does contain whey which is dairy
anyhow, boring tpoic. going to get breakfast
anyhow, boring tpoic. going to get breakfast
I have combustible or explosive devices for producing a striking display of light or a loud noise, so does anyone need any clues before I go?
yes sally, di 7 please
have a good Sunday Sally
night all
night, herin
d followed by most frozen, annie
thanks, sally
You also have di 6: d followed by more frozen

((Annie)) good morning
congrats, m9 !!
wow... the sun is coming up in a bit from behind the hills across the river.. but right now it's making the clouds glow. So pretty!
sounds pretty M9
my goal today (besides making Gage's transition from home to church and back again pleasant) is to get a better pic of the hibiscus in my yard
Gage doesn't care to go to church
?
I am sure you will succeed on getting the picture
sun just broke over the hills... I'm now blind.LOL
Gage likes church.. just doesn't like change. So when it's time to go to church..he wants to stay home..and when it's time to come home...he wants to stay at church..
bless his heart

or maybe winking with his tongue out...
oh dear TO, I'm sorry to hear that
Oh, no, Owl
TY, Mom
also one who competes
Oh no, Owl
What is the "sing" clue?
singular Scrabbs
could be time to climb in tub with hot water and salts
well i try to tell him to used spray once a week so it is not so hard to clean. can rinse off slow drain makes it worse.
Oh, I was singing here
<----- clouds across the river this am
what a lovely voice you have Scrabbler
"vi" and "sing" in the same sentence is asking for trouble
TO, friend showed me how to clean drain, usually hair ... did u try that? Only for tub.
Owl, maybe now he will listen..hope so
Mom, your speakers must be defective. I have zero musical ability except for listening to music.
vi and sing in the same breath. yikes
no way annie, too old and set in ways. i have to learn to bite my tongue.
and then the sun came up and we have these bottles in our window... http://tinyurl.com/3xzbx8e

Question: my friend's daughter, age 23, college dropout (needs to "find herself + understand life") enjoys doing burlesque shows. My reaction (being aghast + concerned) has bothered my friend. She wants me to accept it.
I guess there is no question there, but I am worried about this girl.
That brought me out of lurking mode...NOT ACCEPTING!
congrat her on being employed
TY, Champ
morning Champ
Haha, weiik
Morning all!
not much u can say ...
I would not want my daughter doing burlesque
morning champfit
I have seen the pics on her FB account--very exhibitionist
It's the mother and daughters problem. You can just be neutral
I wouldn't even want my daughter working at Hooters.
well.. I don't think you need to go as far as accept it, if it's not acceptable to you,lol.. but you can then keep that to yourself.
Yes, I no longer say much, except "she makes her own choices"
Honestly, the way they dress these days, there isn't a whole lot of difference!
boy how true.. every household raises their kids differently...
when my daughter was looking a work after school, I suggested college, she found massage school, and wanted 7K, I told her college ... u know .. she did not get massage or college, but, got a great job anyway... I wouldn't support something I wasn't 100% behind
well...even saying "she makes her own choices" can come across as very judgemental depending on how it's said... how often it's said... why it's said...
I just got off the phone with her and she brought it up again because of other people not "accepting" it.
True, m9
I don't think it's up to her to make people accept it. Why should you? Why does it have to come up at all?
my favorite for me is... parenting is not a popularity contest
And she's looking for validation somewhere. I wouldn't give it, but I wouldn't criticize the choice either
Exactly!
scrab, ask her to go to the show with her, and she how she accepts it ...
put her on the spot
go weiik... good advice
I've seen this b4 and never accepted it, just said nice and changed the conversation
My friend is very liberal and accepts everything. I am worried about the girl's ongoing involvement in this.
not your problem ... got company ,., poof
that is good, Weiik. The daughter might be sugar coating the job
The fact is that the girl can do whatever she wants but my friend + her husband have been supporting the girl financially while the girl "finds herself."
No pay for performing--they do it for fun.
as a father,i would not be happy if my girl was working at a strip club,as a friend i would not be happy.i have seen to many bright young girls used up in 2 years and tossed out with the trash when the next fresh young face comes along..it is a time limited and age limited lifestyle choice
WHAT? Ugh!
That is not helping her "find herself"
ah.. so you'd be happier if she were paid for it champ?LOL
no way! no pay??
;)
at 23 they need to learn how to support themselves
so it's more like a campy performance?
At most the girl has worked part-time, now lost her job, and parents support her with $ because she is "lost."
Scrabbler, is that her only work?
never mind, posts crossed paths
cant help but jump in here - where is that teaching her responsibility - we may not like job choices but she is not learning anything about being an adult
well all of US getting up in arms about it isn't going to do anything...
(((River)))
Hello Everyone
That's a hard age...they should be moving toward more responsibility, but the job market for that age is very tough. Hey River!
It's a parent problem. Unless they're willing to make her support herself, the situation won't improve. I would be afraid of exotic dancing leading to prostitution
Yes, this girl has not shown ambition to support herself yet. She depends upon Mom & Dad. OK, it is none of my business anyway, but I have observed all of this since the girl went to college 5 yrs ago.
is your friend disfunctional in other ways?
She hasnt had to Scrabbs - enabling is NOT doing her any favors
My friend is very liberal and sees the burlesque as artistic expression.
my sis was an exotic dancer for years. and neither she nor her dancing friends were into prostitution.
on the bright side, your friend's dd is telling mom what she's doing. My sis never told my parents.
she didn't, M9? wow
I guess you could pull it off if she didn't live at home
When I express concern for the girl it is turned into my not accepting her lifestyle.
106 to go and I am stuck.
but burlesque is not exotic dancing. and burlesque does not necessarily mean unclothing...
I may not like it but an not criticizing the dance (hmm - frog in my throat there), its continue to allow her to do whatever she wants with out any financial support for herself - god forbid, but what would happen to her if something happened to Mom and Dad
Amen River!!
whereas my sister was definitely a "stripper"
It's really their problem, don't make it yours. Tell her you don't want to discuss it
burlesque is a very loose term,is she doing a 1920,s can can in plays,or is she at a club buck naked and gyrating on a pole for pay?.one may be fine ,the other is sex for money
I have seen photos (girl posts them on FB)--pasties + thong--virtually naked, with much make-up.
I hate to leave such a great conversation but I have reached NBT and halfway. {{Hugs}} to all of you
I came back in because I thought of another word while I was in another room (I am NOT addicted). I would not be happy if my daughter was taking her clothes off for pay or no pay.
Bye Mom
Yes, have to go get ready for church. BBL...have fun all!
bye bye Scrabbler
Yes, bichon, over time I have learned to say less + less.
{{Annie}} have a good day
bye ((MOM)) my breakfast is almost ready so will be running off too - have a great day all
bye Champ
Annie, FYI, this girl lives in Brooklyn, haha, in case you want to attend the shows.
bye bye River
of course, nowadays what the girls wear in public or at school is pretty much showing it all.
Good morning everyone
Hi SS
I remember the scenes from the Sopranos
can anybody clue the lone I
They had a "special" room in the back
and good morning all
Hi Dan, don't have it but am looking
How man i***s are there on the agenda
Hi scrabbs...any advice for the Mom of a 24 year old who had tonsils removed on Wednesday? She is absolutely miserable.
TY, bichon
Scrabbs, In Brooklyn? So she is dancing in a strip club. Good lord, I would be very unhappy.
oh duh tx for the fish bichon
yvw
oh! gage up! see ya1
Advice = things will get better in a few days. Use pain meds, keep throat cold--ice chips, popsicles, ice in drinks.
oh scrabbs btw..day 9 of this miserable cold:(
I promised Bobby we would go for brunch. So bye, bye again.
Improving at all, Crossy?
crossy, you know things get better on the 10th day
lol
Have fun with Bobby, Annie!
Have been doing pain meds every 3 hours, she ran a temp yesterday of 101 but is normal now, ice chips seem to help, ty!
thanks, scrabbs, *poof*
but my kid just brought home a NEW cold from camp and we are not done with the old one he gave us;((
then you have another 10 days <ggg>
Ah, sequential viral attack.
if we survive we will have an uber immune system lol
You will survive BECAUSE humans have uber immune systems.

re 8 55 start off labour again
anyways my last thought on the girl who wants to be a stripper.as a father i would not want my girl gyrating around on a greased pole with a thong up the crack of her ass for men to shove 5 dollar bills into.and if she insists, and she is an adult,i would not want a daily news flash of the job anyways..ok must go shopping, bbs

i am a du 5/16 :(
i disagree, since it gave me a word. :)
haha me too!
Morning!
i just started indexing - doing registration cards for men born 1877-1897... and every card i've had so far has something on it that's not on the authorized name list.. sigh
I'm thinking that if a man was born in 1877, that makes him 133 years old ... Pretty much old enough to register for whatever he wants :)
LOL. funny welki
some kind of reverse census, m?
no.. I'm indexing for Family Search.
so I download original images.. and then transcribe to a form.. so the info is searchable online.
Sounds interesting. Hobby?
yes and service at same time.LOL
this online way is new to me. when I was doing it before, I was given all the info on disk
I was doing the 18 something census for county um... I don't remember. somewhere in Ireland.
but just now I downloaded the one it went to .. apparently it goes to the high priority ones first. may have bitten more than i can chew.. it's in spanish.LOL
Ay carumba!
oohhh.. this census is supposed to have one name per line...
but the census taker wrote couples I think on one line...
wouldn't you think that "aulet y nasario Gumercindo" is a couple??
Being that this was done over 100 years ago, I don't suppose you can report them ton their supervisors
Yes, sounds like a couple
I'll let someone else handle that!LOL
I'll write a note to the indexing super though~!
I'll put the Aulet y Nasario in the given name field and the Gumercindo in the family name field...
Hate to say it, but perhaps women weren't counted and maybe just included in husband's reporting
no... looking further.. that's one person. the head of household. because the next one is his esposa
yikes.. what's the y about??
hi mf - gumersindo was my husband's father's name -= it's a first name - aulet y nasario could be the last name, spanish style (father and mother's last names)
Like Ortega y Gasset (one person)
Jbv to the rescue!
Aulet was his father's last name, nasario was his mother's last name
that's where i was going in my thinking! cool
sounds very interesting, m9
the wife's name is reaLLY long!
How've you been, my NY friend?
May i please have a clue for the single i in the middle column?
yes, it's a common cliche, used for laughs in old movies, I'm sure you've seen it Maria Teresa Rosita Fernandez de Rosario Camacho etc etc
M9 "Y" is "and" in spanish
I know.. that's why I thought it was a couple!LOL
but then I saw jefe... and esposa.... and knew each was one person..
sorry car...don't have it
more frozen car - ic5/12
fireworks! Happy sunday babbling everyone. :)
Hooray pappa!
isn't that the to one?
interesting.. under color or race they have things like: B, CH, Fil, fmc, fwc, Hin, In, Jp, Kor, Mu, Ot, and W
chrissie...I got that one from the i above it....
congrats smooth
WTG smooth!
congratulations smothie ;)
I have it greyed out but can't tell which one it is - will look again
it4/5
a single unit
Got it!
TY!
yw
ah.. it's Puerto Rico I'm doing
Any KH words today?
have a kh4/9, but haven't listed here
TY.
t
two kh words a 4 and a similar 5
TY Sandy...got the kh 5!
shoot.. I have to write just as spelled... poor Manuelo (a boy) is going to be recorded for history as Manuela
or did they use fem ending for little babies??LOL
oh nvm.. it's his sister.. not his baby boy...
were they twins?
hi m
and all
I scrolled down and saw the category for color and race were any native people included in the census?
and do you know what all the letters stand for? I can make out some of them
nope. black, chinese, filipeno, Hindu, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mulotto, other, and white I figure.. but fmc and fwc.. I don't know..
maybe that's the puerto ricans??
probably not they'd be white or hispanic
googling it means: free man of color and free woman of color..
so no native americans or aborigines?
ah makes sense
in puerto rico?? in 1920.. they prob were other.
odd.
I just meant in general husband's grandmother was half Chippewa
heehee should be a word
yes jeff it should be
tried teehee too lol
no laughing matter this grid
neither teehee nor heehee is in the grid though, Es not spaced right
they are if you wind around and hi seain
no they're not
nope, they're not
oh.. yes they are!
hello, west and m9
you're right I'm wrong as usual
I was using the other h
they are!
hi seain
I'm so confused
tee not hee?
no, both are
I give up lol
yes west they are both there.
and neither one counts
looking at how these names are entered, it appears they're calling the peurto ricans either black or mulatto
ok.. this time it IS a boy.. for sure.. named Rosa??
do you think they just didn't finish writing rosario??
strange
probably
could it be his middle name?
husband had a great uncle named Emerald
now that's interesting
huh
were they naming everyone after gems? (popular for a while).
must have been an Irish link
my dad knew sisters that were opal, garnet, ruby...
common for girls but for a boy?
my grandma was a Rub
that wasn't the Freelove side lol
oops Ruby
I knew that's what you meant
looking at something recently I saw a Freela from that area.. in Ky
i mean from a while ago..
we knew a Dreama
she was from Ohio so not a New England pronunciation
Okay, will have to enter the "top reasons to shoot your parents for your name:...
I"m going to download one more batch for today... I finished that one
right jilly lol
someone told me about parents who named their child meconium...
we have a family here with the last name of Seed, they have lots of kids, named...Cotton, Leaf, Grass.....need I say more???
they heard it in the hospital and thought it sounded so pretty.....
oh please
oh my!
m9...my point exactly...what were they thinking??? Sounds pretty???
i guess if you don't know what it is...
although.. I don't even think it has a nice sound ..
poor kid
The other thing is: please spell their names in the ordinary way.....otherwise they will NEVER be spelled or said correctly!
*stepping down from soap box*
I agree jilly...grumble, mumble
I see some of the strangest names in the newspaper..poor babies
Well, have 30 done, need to get some clothes in wash and cleaning so bbl!!
my children have not so ordinary names.. but the spellings are fairly normal...
well not so ordinary in america at the time i gave them...
LOL.

My 22 yo daughter's name was the number one name for boys last year or the year before....
They are not name sprout or bean or rocket or anything like that are they m?

ty m9

which you figured out!LOL
I am pretty quick :)
and no.. my children are not named guava, or spirit, or tree...
awww, no willow?
scout from To Kill A Mockingbirdd
* cross out the last d
no.. one of the movie stars had a scout lately..
years ago I knew of a girl named Olive and her last name was, you guessed it Pitts
Demi Moore but she's old now
oh dear peri
on of Demi Moore's girls is named Scout
yup.
olive pitts??
who was it that named their kid apple?
at least they didn't name her aurum..
how about Apple?
that was gwyn paltrow
yes
gwynith.. however you spellt hat
oh yes, it was her
My daughter is set on naming a girl a name that we all say """NOOOOOOoooo!" so I hope she comes to her senses sometime before she has kids..
what name? Apple?
no.
Liahona
lol mine too m, she wants to name a girl Paisley and a boy cooper
what ever happened to mary and joe for names
I like the first part
I am hoping she sticks to animals, their names are bad enough
I mean.. it might sound nice if her last name was gonna be KaÊ»anÄÊ»anÄ .... but Liahona Wagner??
lol m
I think Cooper is nice. Paisley doesn't have a nice sound to it..
I wanted to name a girl Parker
Exactly what I told them
hmm.... maybe that's why I kept miscarrying....
no. bad taste in humor. besides I know they were boys.
my mother briefly thought of naming me Leilani after the song she decided against it
I have one of those very traditional names..
oh so sorry m
I like that name west...my aunt always wanted to name a gir Leilani elaine...she had boys lol
that's ok west. I have little guy. it's all good.
that is pretty
he kind of gave me closure on that.
I know m still it's hard
too bad my body thinks that about 3 months prego is my normal state....!
and so I look it!
and what a beautiful little guy he is
he told me yesterday that we were playing and I couldn't dance.
he's the boss lol
how many 7 letter words are there? pls
9
and then I was sitting on the couch and we were playing his make believe game and Aiden was listening to music.. and this one came on.. and I didn't even realize that I was tapping my hands, and grooving a little... and he says very outraged.."MOM! You're couch dancing!!"
lol no way
9 yikes....my eyes better get moving
she was listening to this; http://tinyurl.com/37pdrbw the more you know it.. the more you have to move it..
wow that is good !!
Greetings! I'm watching a show about Indian wildlife and they just talked about the Scimitar Babbler ... any relation :-)
sounds like a babbler with a big knife

Sleep is a good thing, NB *yawning*

ciocia.you may need to size down the jumbo picture in your profile.they can make the chog stutter
do you know what the weather will be like in London when you get back NB?
tell me about it, Seain! and just SO hot. down in the south of the country it just wouldn't drop beneath 30C...night or day!
nb... do you know the wet towel trick??
really helps
and flipping your pillow
No idea, but I hope it's COLD! but not rainy. I have had more than enough rain. It's monsoon season here.
I hope so too for your sake
get a towel or sheet or whatever wet, wring it out really well and then sleep under it.
wet towel trick? there's a trick?
thank you :)
shoot.. wish I'd told you day ago!!!
then there is also the trick of a rubbing alcohol rub down
the heat and humidity are beginning to rise so to the beach I go see you all later
bye West; hi Crossy!
enjoy west
it's alright, common sense should have told me that! the best I've been doing is dashing outside in the middle of the night when it's pelting it down with rain...then sleeping like that, on top of the sheets. This has been the closest I've ever come to shaving my hair off, just to beat the heat...
and if you place a tray of ice behind a standard fan,you have hillbilly air conditioning;0
if you sleep under wet cloth with fan on you... increasing your evaporation rate.. that really is nice
lol Crossy...unfortunately for me, this is not a sensible country. all the fans here come with timers and they click off after 30 mins. It's like having a fan made things TOO bearable.
stats for the o, please?
there's a reason cowboys had bandanas!LOL.. I wet one for around my neck whenever I'm too got
hot
oh4/6 Nan
4/6
well sure Judy if you wanna make it REAL easy!!LOL
ty -- never think of that word!
judy.. i'm to your eyebrows..
have found 12 k's so far -- thinking the rest must be pretty weird!
M9 you lost me on that one! LOL
better than me, Nan. I only have 11.
I am the ultimate loser, with a lowly 6...;)
i've found 14 of the Ks thus far
i hate when i'm overtired and cannot sleep
me too DC it happens often
I slept like a log last nite; tiring day
Did not appreciate the need to go to the bathroom at 5 a.m.!
i barely slept fri/sat, went to ball game, then dinner, got in at 1:30, popped awake at 9.
welcome to my world Judy that is every night
i never sleep a full night anymore,my life is a series of cat naps with work and babble squeezed in somehow
Ugh, me too, Seain. Normally I can sleep like it's going out of fashion, but recently I've been wondering just what energy reserves I'm running on!
Oh, Pug! Thankfully, I haven't gotten there yet.
it sucks big time!
NB, the stress, the pent up fear of making the trip, and such is your energy source, NB.
Getting back to England will do you a world of good :) Though i'm glad you made the journey, despite everything.
I've seriously considered looking into surgery to put everything back in place like pre-child birth days
I was looking at your profile pic judy.
My sister did that Pug. She's glad she did!
no profile pic appears when i click on judy's profile, but i see it in the chog
I was chatting with George the other night and next thing I know it's 4:30 in the morning and Tim is waking up to get ready for work!LOL
aha, M9 That's my one sister with me.
if you wait ... and wait... it will show seain
It is getting to the unbearable point for me so good to know somebody was happy with the results!
14 k's
You might be right...well, you probably are right. But yes - I'm glad I came here, too :) if only for my four cousins. the group of blood relatives who admit I'm alive has expanded a tiny bit ;)
noted, m9, i opened it and will let it sit for a bit
i'm glad that there has been some degree of resolution and acknowledgement from people other than the 4 cousins :)
someone has instructions in their profile on how to shrink a pic... can't rememer who
MET !!!! COME OUT COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE!!!
jillibus has the instructions on shrinking
haha, M9! Isn't he so funny? When I was introduced to him, that hit me first about him - so funny and friendly!
yes. he's so serious on the chog usually..
and his food looks SO good!
what a great photo!
fireworks
ah well I wouldn't go that far Seain, the only other person is my little sister ;) but those four cousins were a pleasant surprise indeed, so I feel very grateful.
yay flosey!
yahoooo Flose!!!!
OOPS. Sorry guys. Didn't realize it was a giant pic. Will take care of that!!!
afternoon!
is this the first you've seen your sister in a while?
congrats flosey
NB - it's also been good for your cousins and siblings to see you
Afternoon GE!
hello again everybody
YAY FLOSEY!!!!
is there an icon theme today??
oh.. gonna go check that hibiscus.. brb...
No, M9. I have three younger sisters and we don't live far apart. It's wonderful!
Judy can I ask a question please?
Hi Ruby!
actually I was asking NB>. but I lilke hearing about yours too!!!
and I'm bummed.. missed the sun time that I wanted to get the hibiscus..
sure, Pug
Sorry M9!
Oh no, sorry, let me clarify - my sister (along with my parents) lives in England. So we're able to keep in touch and even see each other sometimes, as long as mum and dad don't find out.
hello Judy!!! haven't seen you lately.
how long did it take your sister to feel "herself " again post surgery?
ah.. ok! i get it now.. i was wondering how you got to England..LOL
hi NB! Great food, I'll bet!
no prob Judy.. love to hear it all!
The recuperation was about 2 to 3 weeks I think, Pug. I will get more info and let you know.
Ruby, I do the grid daily but sometimes don't have time to chat.
i had to open the profile in Firefox to see it; Chrome wouldn't open it.
And my sister's surgery turned out to be more extensive then the doc originally thought.
aha!
thanks dear I appreciate it as I've truly given it much serious thought lately
125 down -- list time
sorry DC. Trying to rectify that now.
hubby has just made breakfast, must go, be back at flip!
if I may ask pug, what surgery are you thinking of having?
any clues for the 8's and the 9?
all good :)
to put everything back where it was pre child birth
there are 2 re8 and 1 re9 re + repeat, repeat, repeat
lucky {{flosey}}!
tired of getting up at nite to pee
di 8: lightweight fabric (pl)
etc
hysterectomy?
yup, he's a keeper - 49 years now!
no just shore up the muscles back into place
re 9: stir up again
oh I see;
it sucks having to pee all the time
ty flosey, got the 9 and 1 8, putting monkeys to work on the other 8's
& I'm too young to contemplate ending up in "depends" some day
I'd like to think I'd have found my way to England anyway, though. Maybe being away makes me sentimental, but London is my favourite place in the world.
my mom had bladder lift many years ago and glad she did; having some other related problems now that stem from that surgery though
like what?
nice 8 for the fabrics, ty nan,
ah, i see NB :)
yw
scar tissue has caused some beginning of rectal muscle prolapse and protrusion. She had to go to, believe it or not; physical therapy to learn exercises to strengthen those muscles
UGH ! how horrid for her !
ok... I need to go be mommy now..
bye all! hugs {{{nb}}}} have a safe trip!!
so how do I resize this damn photo?
I guess not everyone catches that "brass ring" & still think it might be worth the gamble forme
nite, m9!
bye m9
(((M9))) thank you :)
it was just kind of weird sounding....they said as long as she does the exercises it shouldn't get much worse but not much they can do for the protrusion so she takes care of it when it happens....I know gross sounding but you do what you have to do!
started after the 1st baby--got worse after the 2nd + now age is taking its toll
de 7, please?
I just know I hate it very much
maybe you could look into physio first, Pug? Errr, though it's far from my area of expertise.
don't have it, nan, sorry
my best word is me6/21 Fr profession
kegels are crap dear--never did squat for me
it's worth checking in to for your own peace of mind; you may or may not be a candidate but you have to check to find out.
so to speak
fine for stretched muscles but not enough for fallen bladder
deciding not to ask what a kegel might or might not be. noticing all the other men have vanished from the chat ;)
but then again Nancy--you've quite different equipment....
good nite everybody; I give up with 110
got it -- de 7: gods
terrific, nan, ty ty
yes I've seen that happen when we ladies were discussing menopause & the like
they will get over it I'm sure
Hi all. Hi Nancy! Are you back yet?
hy hydra!
all the hetero men head for the hill....
Hello there, ruby. Thought you'd just poofed!
How's hubby, ruby?
*to poof or not to poof* nan gave me another word!
they're just a bunch of chickens!
boys will be boys & so will most men....
getting better but we learned that the mayor doesn't have the authority to put the dog down
Yes, nan gave me that word, too. I'm not even halfway thru yet.
Changed pic for now until I figure out how to shrink the photos
must put some laundry in bbl
I may have to bring the neighbors to court with me , carrying their pitchforks!
I'll admit it flusters me, Pug ;) but now I feel so brave and manly :P Hi, Hydra!! Just a few more hours - then I get to go home :)
By Judy
safe travels, NB {{{hug}}}
have been having major connection problems that are making me Very cross
I should go do something useful as well....
Is there a 'three strikes (or rather bites) and you're out' rule in france? Or are dogs never put down for anything?
scratching peri's ears to calmher down.....
Thanks, Judy! :) take good care
Are you flying back today, NB?
evidently he is behaving while in custody, but he is certainly a danger to the village. If he'd gotten a child the way he attacked my husband, it would have died
if Met comes out of lurk mode please tell him I asked after him ?
we're talking about 100 lbs of muscle, teeth and nastiness!
That's terrible, ruby. Has he been neutered? The dog, not your husband!!!
Oh yeah - it's already Monday here, about 2:30 in the morning, so I'll be leaving to go to the airport in an hour. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I came, but this nightmare is -finally- almost over!
hi NB, have not seen you since you landed in Korea, how are you?
they haven't put that dog down? --- that's a crime! It would have been automatic here.
BON VOYAGE, NB!
take care my lovelies --Poof !
I know; it's making us crazy!
safe trip NB
Yes, safe trip. Talk to you soon.
I don't know whether he's been neutered, but I don't think he was making THAT kind of advances to husband LOL
Sorry, I'm holding two conversations at the same time. I feel so sorry for your husband, ruby. Id be terrified of going that way again, where I might encounter the devil dog.
how old is the dog ruby -- a case of grumpier old dog?
scary-looking breed, like everybody's worst nightmare
Ha ha! I only asked because that often calms dogs down. My friend has just had her male dog done.
he is actually back to his same route again and the dog will probably be returned home this week
Are we discussing menopause. I'm done with that. My daughter calls it metrophase
thank you all :) and Peri...now that I'm leaving, I'm pretty good, thank you! it has been a tough ten days, but now they are over.
Nancy Boy, what was so bad about Korea?
the owners adopted him from a shelter 2 1/2 years ago but we don't know how old he is. I don't think old, though
my internet connection is going crazy, so haven't been able to chat - stopping in to say hi to ruby, hi to NB, hi to everybody, good wishes to all, hope I can stay connected this time
You'll be able to put it into perspective once you're back, I hope, NB.
hi jbv and bichon!!!
HI JBV. Good luck!
now I can't leave
Hi, JBV! Connection problems suck...I know that issue well.
di 7, anyone?
I've been having trouble with FB connection for a week. Couldn't get into my home page
cy superlative form of word before
the di7 parts of town are usually the most dangerous
Just the 'family' situation, Bichon
ty bichon
ty bichon
and the mi7's that rhyme have the most rodents?
hi dc
hello, hydra :)
yw cy
phantom: idetic
I don't get the clue for the most rodent like mi 7
good one, ruby
Families can be impossible NB
no bichon, I was trying to be funny.
okay, was sort of funny
husband doesn't think I'm funny, either!
it would be funnier if I could get 5 more m's
you were cracking me up yesterday ruby
Well, I must poof off and make some fone calls. See you later.
thank you, leslieann, now I feel better
{{hydra}}
when you found out you could sue for lack of marital relations
eeewwwww! don't bring THAT up again! please
hahaha that was it "ewwwwww!"
I told her that. I'd, personally would go for it. I have no shame
wait a second, we were just discussing neutering.....
oh yeah bad segway
not your husband ruby
I'll see what the lawyer says
bad???
okay, well it's nearly 3am here, and that means only one thing...I'm going home!!!! bye, all!
I am not coming in the chat now..
You're asking the lawyer about having marital relations
good luck nancy
{{nb}}
safe travels nancy!
heehee hi ru

Queens College gals
I can't believe it, somebody down below the house is playing bongo drums and screaming (singing) along! Unbelievable!
with a loudspeaker
it is so beautiful out that I hate to close the studio door; the light is oblique and yellow and it's 8PM
think I'll take a Sunday nap
{{sweet nap dreams, bichon}}
*poof*
missing the bottom O for NBT...
vi 6 anyone ?
oh 4/6

You're welcome, cybernan - good afternoon/evening all.

re 9: fired up again (as in rebel rousing)
tyvm nan
doesn't look like anyone is wanting any clues, so I will be on my way -- back at the flip if I don't crash first.
de 7/32 ?
HI, Haz
hello all
hi Peri!
hi
I cleaned the bathroom, one of the litter boxes and did a load of laundry and went to the markt
still plenty to do around here, but it is a start
hi all
hi Tea
and then, Peri will come for a visit unknowingly to clean my home
de7 gods
in your dreams, Pav :)
..so that whence I start my next week off I will have nothing to do!
I HATE to clean
I want some one to come and clean my home
I'd be happy with some one to do laundry
I HATE laundry
Haz likes to clean, maybe we can put together and get her a plane ticket to the states
well, you can't have walter
whre are you Tea, I will do laundry before I do cleaning
Reno, NV
just a little to far to travel, I am in PA
I think it is the putting away that I hate the most, plus the kids can't figure out what is dirty and what is not
I suppose so, peri
so with the kids, everything goes in the wash, no matter what
ten years ago, waltger said " ma, if you buy a new washer and dryer and vacuum cleaner, you will never have to use them."... i did and i haven't
Rollie does dishes, and will keep the kitchen super clean, so I guess I should do my part.
hi again everyone!
hi Annie
I just came back from super shoppping. My friend is coming up from Florida and she makes a mean brisket.
Hi peri
where does she live in Fla, Annie, I am thinking of moving there
Hallandale Beach
on the east coast then
65 left..off to fi4 clippers and "fool proof guide to giving pets haircuts without creating ill will and leaving pets with nothing but love for th5 masters who keep th4 clean and healthy".
hallandale beach is in broward county...where are you thinking of relocating?
good luck with that pav
thinking of the gulf coast area, the beaches are white and the water is warmer
Aloy lives on the gulf coast
have fun pav
Hi peri,
a friend is thinking of moving there also but she want to live there part of the year and then up here the rest of the year
Naples is beautiful...in fact the entire gulf coast is beautiful
I don't think I can afford to pay for a place year round by myself
hi Peri, saying hello from a fellow PA person.
Aloy lives north of Naples. I was thinking between Naples and Tampa
peri, lovely
wish I knew of someone who had an apt or house to rent or sublet
hi nurse
if I never see snow and ice again I will be happy
peri, go online and find a real estate agent in the area...you will get a good idea of what is available
come to the cleveland suburbs peri... there are plenty......... lovely houses going for 8 or 9 hundred a month
I wlll Annie, will also ask Aloy
no thank sammy
anywhere near Valley Forge, peri?
good luck, peri
closer to Phila
ty Annie
ty Annie
I just hear that some of the Pathmark supermakets will be closing by the end of the year

Really?
The Pathmarks in my area do very well
I thought the ones near me did too
I looked on line but did not see any mentioned near me but that is not what my sister heard

Good Afternoon Babblers
Hi River
Annie how are you today
I am tired but content...just did a whale of food shoppping
that is one of those chores I like the least - but do get to enjoy the foodstuffs - so enjoy Annie
my grandkids went to camp in NH, river...I think it was Freedom, NH in the White Mtns.
I dont mind shopping, dont like putting it away
will someone please give me a clue for ci 6/21, please
there are some great camps here - I dont know that one - my kids went to Camp Bernadette (girls) and Camp Fatima (boys) that were sponsered by the Catholic Diocese
plural of a large town
Camp Cody, Freedom NH
hope they had fun
duh
yes, they liked it...especially going to Boston to see a Red Sox game. As a Yankee fan, that hurts. lol.
*jumps up and cheers - whoohooo go sox*
that is quite the ride Annie for a kids camp
I knew you would do that, you red sox fan. I thought it was a long ride too but they loved it.
back
tnc, how are you and your kiddies?
we are good, thanks for asking - school starts tomorrow for Tea and next week for Crackers
lucky for your kids Tea - mine started last week - way too early in my opinion
RD - when do they get out, or do they have extra vacations?
private school started last week, here
TEA!!! *happy mama look* I messed up the scarf... *sad mama look*
hey all
I saw pics today - it looks good - what happened?
hello all
I got to 99 last night, will get halfway now and then head out.
hi stid and lindy
the heat-setting. *sigh* I just sent you an email.
hey lindy!
oh stid - loved the pix - you all looked like you had a great time - I'm so jealous
hey Annie!
hiya stid
hi annie
we did, River. I was sorry you lived so far away!
maybe someday I will get back east again.
Tea - I dont have the kids calendars yet so dont really know when we get out - figuring the middle of June
no worries, stiddy - we'll see when I get it. how many more cards do I owe you?
would welcome you with open arms
ZERO. I LOVE the ones you sent.
we'll see about that
I just ruined a stidkid's day... told him he can't go to a friend's house until I can walk from the bedroom door to the window.
mean mom!
I ruin my kids' day every freaking day!
Was that your Mom's house? oh so beautiful!
dont we all Tea
I just my kiddos cream cheese and olive sandwiches - apparently I have never done that before - they love it!
oooh. you mean I am NOT the world's worst mother???
my kids would starve if I did that....
RD - we get out around June 7th or 8th,whatever is Wednesday that week, but we get no extrra vacations.
I love cream cheese and olives on bagels
yes River, my mother's home is quite comfortable.
hehehe
to dream.......
a lot of kids get a ski week in Febrauary, or two weeks for spring break
still at 99....
wow - fat fingers and typos!
our kids used to get a full week in February. drove me NUTS! Hated it.
we get a week in Feb and a week in April - I get a day each if I am lucky
my granny used to make olive sandwiches with mayo
I have 37 left but lost interest
next to tryh is cream chees, walnuts and alfalfa sprouts
hi all!
the un6 has left me stumped and befuddled
I think Crackers will not eat it but Tea seems receptive
Stid, do you have pictures of the Babble Meet this past week?
I'm tired of pb & j
hey Good!
thats my daughter staple
go river go!
now down to 95
river, un + not enslaved
my son however will eat just about anything

i'm actually looking forward to watching the emmy's tonite and putting 400 pictures we just got developed into the album

hey annie, ya wanna come over?
ouch, we just THursday, volunteered to coach Tea's team so they wouldn't disband it
you caretaker real good!
there we go. halfway. Will be back later if I have time.
oh no Tea - you are your own worst enemy (me too!)
see you later stid!
gee whiz, tea!!
((hugs all)) *poof*
bye stiddles -
bye for now stid
*packing suitcase and calling airline at the same time*
is the very first word a common word, or unusual?
soccer is just a way of life around here. who's practicing, whos playing, whos driving...
bye stid, Love your teacher jacket
never mind, I found it
at least both kids have practice at the same time and the same place - we only agreed to coach if we could tag along with the other team. Games on the other hand are not at the same time but at the same field.
here too with my son - just made the middle school team and was chosen as captain - also plays on a travelling team - its a miracle after what he went through this summer - SO - I will bring him anywhere
oh captain my captain! how fabulous!
I really want "dovier" to be a word.
isnt it - what a way to top it all off......
river, tears came to my eyes as I read about Keith..after what you and he endured. wonderful.
me too hpb!

it was so much fun to meet babblers!
so wish I could have been there - felt like I was through the photos
glad you could virtually share it with us!! :)
love the babble cake - whose idea?
* blush * mine
it was perfect
it was fun to do ;)
and looks like a group effort brought it about - thats the best
I'm working on posting the grid (149 words) so others (who've been interested) can play it, too ("Lickety's List" and answer sheet, too)
it was fun chatting around the counter while stid and bugs helped me decorate it ;)
I'm sure - so lucky
I'm missing one of the se4/7 - any hints?
all-in-all...it was fun ;)
hi p&c
se + ** ands or buts
the other is a slave
se4 = sounds like s***board (ocean waver rider)
or what river said
got the ocean wave rider
oh please - if you have a better clue please ......
not sure it was better, river...knew it was the slave, not sure why I clued it the way I did - brain must be slipping
can I get nudges for the lower left O and upper right U?

You on Facebook, Roses6?
I got them off FB but let me check profiles
stid has a link to pics of the cake in her profile and jilli has some, too ;)
river...who has them on FB?
Hi Pini. No, I'm not on facebook Soodle. Is there an address I can go to to see it?
So, River, hows things with you? And how is my mate Keith?
Hi Pini Soodle River et al
Hey Bichon. :-)
Roses...check profiles for Stidmama and Jillibus for pics
I absolutely hate hearing about the Babble meet-ups (jealousy) but I totally love looking at the pictures....
here per Jilli - http://www.flickr.com/photos/jillibus2 003/ and on facebook.
I am friends with Jilli on FB so got her message today
River, How is Keith doing?
Soodle - have missed you lately - Keith is awesome - back to full non-restrictive activity - made the school team and has been chosen as team captain - cant get better than that
I'm jealous too Soodle - even the ones fairly close are too far away money wise
YABBA DABBA DOOOO. River, I couldnt be happier! That is such good news. :-)
Thanks River. I looked around but couldn't find how to access profiles if the folks aren't currently in the chat. I know there must be a way. So, thanks for the address. The cake was awesome. And so fun to see pics to go with the names!
It is the BEST
If you go to rankings you can look for the person in the list - sometimes time consuming but works
Now! to complete the happiness, Soodles has to win the Irish Lottery. could everybody join hands, and say Ommmmmmm...........
So Soodle where have you been lately???????
if you're on the rankings page...to find someone, press Ctrl-F and type their name...you'll go right to them
* joining hands * Ommmmmmm...
Oh River, life sometimes gets in the way of Babble, Tsk, tsk....
Ommmmmmmm
*head bowed....Ommmmmmmm*
Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
oh Pini - thanks for that shortcut
* grin *
Always happy to Om, day or night, loud or soft.
Foregone conclusion!! Soodles is in the money, and hereby invites all and sundry to an Irish Babble-fest!
whoohooo - ready and packed when Soodle is ready
YEAH!!!! * frantically finding things to pack in suitcase *
And guarantees a splendid time for all..............
Say when, we'll be there. Just waiting for an excuse to visit Ireland.
I'm on the next Aer Lingus
Bichon - did you join virtual hands?
Oh My, I feel llike Dr Frankenstein... I think I may have created a monster....
must have missed that
what is it?
Don't worry soodle, we can sleep on the floor. LOL
Ommmmmm
* tucking sleeping bag into case *
personally used to sleeping on the ground - floor would be good
Loads of floor here, Roses! Hey, has anybody heard how Sprite's husband is doing?
got Bichon covered too - always have extras
last I heard was doing better
Oh, thats good to hear, River. So the shadow they found was not sinister?
I dont know Soodle - havent been chatting alot - so may have missed some - best to ask someone else
whoo! another dollar in the laundry. that's $8 for the day>
your lucky day GE
sorry, soodle...haven't been on much this week; congrats, GE
(wish my kids were still at home to leave $$ in their pockets instead of stopping by to borrow)
Soodle who is that doggie
in the picture
river...was waiting for you to say "window!" LOL
*darn* got is wrong again..........
ROFL!! That, my friends, is my late doggie King. We lost him to cancer in June. Lost, but never, ever forgotten!!
oh... sorry Soodle.....no never fogotten
good looking guy, soodle...sorry he's passed
my old girl Kerri is failing now - I'm very sad - she is 12 1/2 female black lab - had a great hunting life
sorry to hear, river...
camping last week I actually tossed the ball in the water so she could swim one last time - dont think she will make it through to next summer
Oh, dont be sorry, River. He was a great dog. He has been replaced by a resuce dog called Buster (AKA Budget), who is driving us all out of our minds. Buster is .........what can I say....a puppy!!!!
poor thing :( ... at least she's had a great ride! :)
Biscuit is 16 1/2 and every day he wakes up is a blessing
Hello...
Buster chews, poohs, wees, chews, poohs, wees, .... need I continue?
hi jellen ;)
I'm a sap - cry at everything - glad it is you - hehehe -
gee, soodle...sounds a bit like Koda (almost 3 yo now)...even with the improvements he's accomplished! LOL
Hello Jellen
mine sleeps, but he does walk 2 miles with me every day
Hello Jellen :-) You always seem to come on line when I am moaning or being cranky.... Sorry!!
speaking of walk...I should take Koda shortly...
so does anyone else play these stupid FB games that I am addicted to: like Frontierville, Farmville, really dumb I'm afraid to admit Treasureville and what is a waste right now Cafe ville....????
* hanging head in shame * yes, river ;)
because I am always looking for new neighbors - lol
Oh, that reminds me...I stepped on the exercise machine today and did a token 5 minutes or so... *beam*
River, my guilty pleasure is Super Scratc
* admits to playing Frontierville and CafeWorld *
good for you Jellen - my only exercise was vacuuming
well done, jellen!!!!
Hic.. Super Scratch off... totally ridiculous, but a bit addictive...
Frontierville is my absolute favorite
been dabbling in Prolific lately
Oh my, almost 23
River, "won't you be my neighbor?" :)
How is the grid?

I've broken 100, jellen, and still trudging along...so, imho, doable (with list)

hey jellen...congrats on the exercise today!
Thanks, GE
i've been wearing my pedometer this week, trying to go for those 10,000 steps. actually made it more days than not.
haven't made it to the formal exercise yet though.
well done, GE...I should be using mine, too...but haven't even broken it out of the box (it was a gift)
I have a pedometer somewhere...
it does make me move more. i make a point at work to get up and make a trip around the building a few times a day.
now, that's something I should do more of, GE...would lessen the tension/frustration of the dorks that come to my office! :)
lol. it would do double duty - exercise and avoidance!
well, I'm down to 45 to go and should really get Koda out and about for a bit...(speaking of walking)...will be back after a leisurely walk ;)
(that's right, GE)
enjoy pini!
tootles for now! * poof *
And I'm going to take a brief nap...*poof*

River -- that's a great picture in your icon. It could be even better if you could crop it square so that it's not squished. If you scroll down through my bio you'll see a link for how to do it easily. You can also use Paint if you have Windows.
sad to say I used that link to crop it small so it didnt bring down the chog - am working on learning that stuff - so loved your pix jilli - and so wished I could have joined you - looked like a great time - loved the babble grid cake
I need to get off as Keith needs to get on for homework - bbl

Sometimes I don't, but sometimes I wear my sneakers
firewords!!!!
Congratulations stidmama on fireworks! Good for you
*considers Min's response* do you think it would be reasonable to keep a pair of (new, nice) sneakers in the classroom to change into if my feet start to hurt?
congrats stid

I de 4/5 it necessary to do a story of clues so here it is. The Babble de7/32 answered my prayers and gave me FWs, although I had to fi 4/7 monkeys once again because they were du 5/16s and could not fi 4/8 any words. It ir4/4 me when my monkeys are so unhelpful and I se 6/21 w/anger. They didn't earn any me 4/6s today. I also did not have a lot of fr 4/7 ti 4/5 today so I fr 4/7ed I would not finish grid today. I was very exci5/14 when I finally got my FWs. Anyway, I spent the weekend in Vt to see my parents. I love going to th 5/12 house. I visit th4/5 every summer. I had a ni 4/5 visit there.I did a lot of things there. On Friday, I was a hi5/20 and went on a hi 4/9 with ten other hi 6/33. Actually, I went on many hi 5/20 this weekend. On Friday night I ate fried ri 4/5 for dinner. Then on Saturday, I went swimming in a pool.I wasn't going to go swimming, but then I did not give a di4/5 who saw my fat arse in a suit. Didn't swim long because it was in6/27 with too many little children. When I got back from pool,I flew a ki4/8 with my nephew.I also got to me 4/5 my new baby nephew for the fi5/16 ti4/5. He was a bit ti 5/14 because he'd never seen me before. He tr5/10 to pull out my earrings when I hold him. On Saturday night we celebrated my Dad's b-day. I gave him a beer st5/10 for his birthday.Today,I helped my dad set up mi4/6 traps. I also went to a st 5/10 fair. When I got back I ti 6/24 up the house with my Mom. Then I picked apples off my parents' apple tr4/4 with my niece. It didn't cost me a di 4/6 to goto Vermont. My sister drove and I didn't buy anything when I was there. I traveled through many ci 6/21 today coming back from Vermont. I had McDonald's french fr 5/16 for lunch on the way back. My sister warned me that fr5/16 was not enough for lunch and that I would get hungry later, but I did not he4/6 her warning. She on the other hand was a he 6/20 and ate 2 happy meals. Now I'm going to get onto my fe4/7 and spend the re 4/4 of the night with my dog. Goodnite to all babblers
i never do heels stid!
i wear flats, and they HAVE to be comfortable
ah, that is a grand idea, feather! BUT. at only "almost" 5'4... in middle school I need the advantage of the 1.5 inch heels. It's not actually the heels that bother me, it's the pointy toes! And those are on most shoes these days.
except sneakers...
((feather)) hello, btw
when does school start for you?
Hello, I lost my internet connection downstairs...
shhhh
next tuesday is supt. day, wed is the kids.
hi jellen
hmph. not fair, jellen!
same for my kiddos.
This will be the first day in all their years that I wasn't there to kiss them goodbye on the first day of school!!!!
aww!
Past time for bed. Will have to leave 6 unfound. Night all.
G'night, wht
Thanks, Min.
got you all beat---I start school tomorrow and our kids on wed.
Good Evening All. How are you all tonight?
hey mcurl!!!! ((((hugs)))) you can DO it!!!
sweet dreams wht
hey Nef!
I know; I'm the one that misses to kids and can't wait for school to start!
how does your copy room look now? clean carpet, etc?
Stid, NEVER wear a pair of shoes that aren't comfortable on the first time you try th** on! Buy your shoes after being on your feet all day; and if they feel good right at the start, they will always feel good
yes clean carpet and most everything back in its place....am I still swamped? YOU BET!
I spent four hours this afternoon trying to organize the things I am taking with me on Tuesday... still no clue what I am doing, of course, but confidence in my mentor teacher so not completely petrified.
that's the way it should be--that is confident in you mentor and if you weren't petrified i might be worried
And besides, stid; you don't have to be taller than the kids, you just have to think you are. My 8th grade teacher, Mrs. D, was barely 4 1/2 fe** tall and she was a giant to all of us!
I "should" be spending some time tonight creating a sort of annotated bibliography about the sorts of things I intend to teach.
ugh - just volunteered last minute to host my book group this week - one of our members has a sick family member and couldnt do it - yikes - what did I do.....
That's true, Nef. Thing is, I used to be a dancer, so my feet are generally more comfortable either completely bare or in heels. "Flats" with solid soles aren't my thing.
hm river, and you were talking to tea earlier about volunteering to coach???
whoops, got distracted by bright shinies elsewhere. scrolling back....
yup - my own worst enemy
bbl, DH wants help
going to bed now -11 pm now with a 5am wake up call -ugh again - when will I ever learn - good night all
G'night, River
((hugs)) jellen, stid and the gang - poof
sweet dreams river!
I need to log off, too. I WANT to work on this lesson plan template some more. *creative mama look* I don't want to read.
i should get to bed soon, gotta go back in tomorrow to do more "stuff"
And my brain's just not into this...think I'll read...
LOL all of us being "responsible" again. Oh well... at least the benefits are good?
(((Jellen))) glad to see you. Hope to see you some tomorrow, too!
Have a lovely evening everyone who's staying... *poof*
Goodbye for now...
bye

okay, thanks 8-D
evening all...here for my last 12
grem, it may not get there, you forgot the zip code ;)
00000?
babylonia does not have zip codes. it's like ireland. LOL
Oh no! I've just been informed that Babylon has been sacked by the Hittite king Mursilis I.
* blink * what, grem?
3500 years ago, in fact.
The zip code thing may further complicate matters.
back. The dog threw up on the foot of the bed, DH couldn't change it himself. (Stupid dog! Good thing he's little!)
effing hittites!!!
phantom hittites, too!
hopefully it was just a little mess, nef
i say we raise an army and raze their army!
...and if koda walks across me one more time...
Ks are Klobbinated
hi Pini. It was big enough that the whole bed needed changing. WHY do dogs and cats eat grass? I thought it was to settle th*** stomachs, but each ti** our cat or dog eats it, they puke.
(brb - before he makes a mess)
I know the feeling, nef...not sure why either...they just seem think they need "fiber" or something!
well done, gwen
BRB
Any clues for that bottom O for NBT, please?
No need. Apparently, Mursili I was assassinated in a conspiracy led by his own brother-in-law. But this may complicated things further.
oh4
i have a dog that does that too, nef -- then she throws up phlegm and grass, and then it's over . . . sheesh
oh4, past tense verb
oh4 crying out loud, you might even say.
DUH! Thanks Gremlin! 75 words down and I couldn't see that at all!
it's one of those words that doesn't look like a word
some days I just can't see the easy words
back
hey, I still have 12 left...no one finished for me while I was gone??? what's up with that?
pini, i got some extra points, you want? LOL
all the finishers left.
can you mail 'em to me? LOL
Pini's back just now? Hmm, suspicious. Did you just finish sacking Babylon, perchance?
oh, I wish, grem!
Koda didn't want to come back in ...
Darn. I was hoping maybe you saw if my letter arrived.
pini, soon as they get to me i can snail 'em to ya 8-D
not yet, grem; thx gwen! :)

Back later.

hi herin
Good for you. What did you do? (I've spent the weekend either babysitting or laying a floor for DH's Aunt)

HI
di8 = turn down the lights + vowel + neckwear
di8 = stupid (3 letters) + vowel + men wear neck**** to work
hello Pini! just got in, great night!
the show went well, geo?
hmmm
Sat night we had a house warming / birthday to go to. There was lots of lollies and non alcoholic punch and then on Sunday a welcome home party for my friends baby that has been unwell
yeah, see the update I posted just now!
de7, a bunch of gods and goddesses
thanks pini and dr, thought it was a girls name
thanks again dr
re6-30 please....thannks
will have to take a look, geo...brb
sho nuff
alhtough everythings a girls name these days isn't it...
re + opposite of lose (as in lost and f****)
my kid goes to school with a kid called "Destiny"
so when Phil Collins croons "when destiny calls, you must respond" my kid snaps to attention
OMG, thanks, Book.
yeah, gortmold, even boys' names are girls' names these days, can't tell gender from a name anymore!
My friends baby is called Raspberry which is the Polish to English translation. But she is soooooo cute
names tend to go from boy to girl, not the other way. this is due to culture valuing boys more than girls
kid born in my town here recently called (not nicknamed, but called) "cricket"
and boys not wanting 'girly' names, yeah
naming the baby cricket is still better than naming the baby with the exact name name as his dad
honestly, who holds up their dear little newborn girl and says, "That's a Cricket, that one!"?
Is "Blanket" really M. Jackson's sons name?
GA he could have a European name that is translated to Blanket in English
your Terry or your Robin could be a boy or a girl. names that switched a generation ago or more: Shirley, Beverly, Meredith
u could be right doctor, or it could be because one to many Leslies have been bashed for it
Oh, yes, thanks, herin.
Hilary, Vivien...
Or maybe he is weird and just called the kid Blanket.
May I please have a clue for nu8-50? Thanks
i understand that Gwen used to be a man's name, too
halo, Jill!
nu8 builds off the nu4. adjective *and* plural
as Gillian Leslie I got put in the boys' gym class in the USA, fresh from England in 1940 at age 13. Got called Gideon, Julian, Gilliam, etc etc.
(builds off the nu5, i mean)
Hi all!.
Hi jill
hi gortmold, jilli, George, and whomever else joined chat since I last peaked at it!
they didn't even know Gillian's a girls' name? that was one of my sister in laws' names
halo, Nef!
my gym teacher, one year, never even tried to pronounce my name. roll call was like: William! Karen! John! (long pause) Foss!
Dang this is a hard grid
well, i'll be off to play that other game we aren't allowed to mention in here. cheerio and poink
??
They had never heard the name Gillian back then and thought it had a hard G. That's why I changed to Jill.
hello to you too, Jill
and that's odd, the name's been popular here for a long time, even probably before then!?
halo george ;)
(Half an eye on PBS Inspector Lewis...)
oh yeah
Are both the U words UN please?
great vids, geo
ooh, ta, Pini, bit silly though!? ha!
did you see the one I had a m8 shoot of me in my home, vote-whoring, as my sis says? lol!
one speedy and one dark (but both visual) ;)
not yet...will have to go look again!
oh yeah, it's back just before the 2 in Tel Aviv
Gillian was quite common among Brits long ago, obviusly, considering my age and that of one of my pals from school, another Gillian. Her last name was Oliver and mine was Murray, so our parents called her Gillio and me Gillium. And we still call each other those names :)
yeah, I shot the first of the 2 in Tel Aviv, had to show the view off my balcony, ha!
Excuse me does any one know if there is both UN words
aww bless, that's cute and funny, Jill!
both U's are un words, herin; un4 and un6
Pini, get on msn if ya can, I'll send ya something?
thank you NEf
where are those pix, geo?
what pics, Jill?
ok...hold on
Nef i swear I tried that UN 4 sigh
I'm on ;)
Pini's referring to some video clips I put in blogs, ones I shot and a m8 of mine shot of me -- you'll see 'em!
the oes you just mentioned, from tel Aviv...
didn't mention pics, mentioned clips -- they're there!
oh sorry -- but where? Yahoo?
yeah, I said I put them in blogs!
ok -- can't keep up with all these things!
pretty easy, go to my page, click the blog button on the left, takes you right in there -- the headings then are on the right, click the one 'Tel Aviv'
and before that, the one about the voting! that was shot in my house, before we left--shameless, eh? lol!
can you imagine if I ran for Prime Minister? ha!
I am turning off chog back later. Nef you at FB?
P.s George. Here is a link for you since you seem to be all hippy and stuff about the environment: http://www.corporatewatch .org.uk/?lid=255
not yet, herin
Talk later then nef
what's that in aid of, herin?
p.s Practice what you preach. Tesco is bad. http://tinyurl.com/32ar3fq Peace out
and what's with the attitude toward me?
I have not got an attitude.
yeah, well show me one supermarket that ain't in some way, but folk have to eat
Opps. Pardon my bad Gramma. I think she disappeared up High Street.
geo, are you done with the grid?
well yeah, seems you do, and why are you suddenly take this tone when you don't know me, I don't know you and I've not said anything to you? odd, that! you don't know sh*t about me and where am I going on about the enviroment? just mind your own, why don't ya??
yeah, Pini, but since I'm not asleep yet thought I'd have a look at the flip, though not gonna do it now!
hey George, does your name appear strange when you view your profile? It does on my end.
It looks like "Gõþógõ's Profile"
yeah, gremliin, that's coz I couldn't get just my first name when I joined, so I used those special look alike letter characters in the Arial font, to do it!
in the windows character map, like
Oh, clever, heh.
well, it was only way to do it, ha!
I hadn't noticed that before, geo...kinda cool! :)
What is the 9 please
I had seen it when viewing the chat logs and I wondered who it really was, but it always looks fine in live chat.
oh yeah, well it's only me, ha!
re9, a re- plus an in7
pt of re8
it shows up normal in most places, dunno why not in the bio page??
and sorry I didn't mean to have an attitude or be offensive
Probably the character encoding is set differently there.
Geo...it's probably 'cuz you're "special"!!! LOL
I have a habit of changing feet to put in my mouth or going the double speical
Thanks Gremlin
haaaaaachoooooo!
('scuse me, pardon me...off to get tissue)
Or is it just the font? I dunno.
New icon posted -- theme is Tennis -- US Open opening day...
so that's how you do the funny looking things -- with Character Map!
I'll go with 141 today.
یᵣعӎΙͥἠá¼
thanks for being "realistic", grem...I won't have to thump you this evening! * grin *
Hmm, that looks more like an S.
hey...no swearing, grem...it's not nice!! LOL
cool, grem!
what funny looking things, Jill? the letters of my name look normal most places -- just not in the bio page, yet everywhere else they do, it's odd!
ᴳᴿᴱᴹᴸᴵᴺᴺ
no symbol for R in that font, eh?
ᴶᴵᴸᴸᴵᴮáµáµ´
In which one?
no, some letters there's no special lookalike character for, only some of them
you know what I mean, george -- the way it look sin you bio but not here.
how did you do that, gremlinn??
* raising hand * do mine! :)
do what, Pini?
Is there any news on shdy?
I opened up the character map table and copied some characters.
grem, do my name! :)
well I didn't want it to look all garbled like that in my bio, Jill! ha, ha!!
ᴾᴵᴺᴵᴷáµá´¸á´¬
I was hoping it would look normal, but wasn't to be!
oooooh, itty bitty
do pini's name with Character Map, I assume
well, it's interesting, george.
hello everyone :)
Hi nan!
The region I'm selecting from is "Modifier Letter Capital"
someone just wrote in a blog about how I have a 'fake accent', Jill -- shaking my head, lol! guess the mastermind who wrote it doesn't realise I'm english? laughing!!
hi nan
halo, nan!
á´¬á´á´®á´¯á´°á´±á´²á´³á´´á´µá´¶á´·á´ ¸á´¹á´ºá´»á´¼á´½á´¾á´¿áµ€áµáµ‚ is the whole sequence - missing a lot of them, lucky I could do my whole name and Pini's.
And apparently it doesn't show the L correctly (at least for me).
Maybe he/she is talking about when you sing, George.
That's odd - it did earlier.
don't hear any then, Jill
â„–!
hello
at least I don't think so!?
Ἠἰ
