I'm back. Hi Bichon. Yes, many post-modern parents delay potty training out of fear that it is a huge psychological event. In the "old" days--so up til the 70's, the vast majority of kids were trained by 24 mo.

i did it out of laziness really. trained both during the summer they turned 3. the summer they turned 2, didn't feel like they were ready, summer they were 3 was easier.

well, we did respect my daughter's complaint about the headboard banging on her wall. We put a soft toy (a hippo in a pink dressing gown) between the head board and the wall. It's still there, 2 years after she left home.
i have a special reading nook off the livingroom just for that..a nice comfy wing back chair,an ottoman,a small table and one of those little table top water fountains and a book shelf full of books..a place to go and just unwind

We used to go up to the top of the garden to unwind, however, Beloved's daughter just marches up there to seek us out.
So, the solo place I designed before I'd even met Beloved no longer works. Nor does the place in the attic me and my Ex designed before.
