I was going to look for a word icon and saw that it's FMitch's birthday
mine is Tuesday and lynxxx 's is Wednesday
and our 2nd daughter's is Thursday
make that Friday
hello everybody
3rd daughter's getting married on Saturday
hi ruby just us chickens
how have you been?
chooks, as they say, just learned since I've been playing!
can't imagine saying chook pot pie lol
I think I know the most people with September birthdays -- all conceived on New Year's Eve, I think!
maybe chookie pot pie
lol never thought about New Year's Eve
yes or chookie salad sandwiches
husband and two friends on 30 Sept, Soodle and Riverdance with Sept, my son who, even though he was born in Oct, was definitely created on NYE!
It's all that champagne!!
must be
pretty sure Wendy was (that's 2nd daughter)
I once said that in Scrabble and was censored! hahah
said what? that your son was conceived on NYE?
yup
made a joke about it in the chat and I guess they thought it was too risque!
yikes were they all nuns?
I think it was the Indian admin who thought that was not a joking matter
to each his own I suppose
uh oh, the hours trikes!
that was a long pause
I always forget and just keep putting in words and of course nothing happens
I keep waiting for them to accept riad -- I try it about once a week
but then the words catch up, n'est-ce pas?
not always.
uh oh, I had better start checking. But who remembers?
I usually can't remember which ones I entered
this grid isn't as much fun as the last one
neither can I and sometimes I make a typo of a good word and don't remember
I like the biggies
I loved the last one alrhough I only got just past half
that's pretty good without the list
don't we all West
hi fish
Rubyfoo -- you were censored ior censured??
hello Christine
I'm not sure which lol
and once I made a typo in the chat and they banned me for 5 minutes while in the games they will allow MANY bad words. Go figure!
Well, I guess after you promised to be goo, the let you stay, so that's okay.
hello, y'all.
hello Christine. My grip on English is slipping away
*gooD*
goo is goo!
Hang on, Sloopy, hang on.
thanks Christine now that song will be playing in my head lol
it's a good song though
isn't that called an "earworm"?
ha that's a good term
ya, 50!
I only have 49
Fot the past three weeks(!) my brain's been singing Alone again, naturally. I guess it's better than Pink Panthert, but marginally.
earworm?
that was a sweet song
I get worse ones: My Pa gave me a nickel to buy a pickle....", "Downtown strutters' Ball", old old songs from even before I was born.
speaking of songs ruby how is your son's music coming along?
I love the old songs
But three weeks!!! I wake in the morning, it's there, and it sends me to sleep; just too much.
I don't think he's selling many CD's but everybody who hears it, likes it. I'll have to buy some as Christmas presents for my friends in the UD. It's embarrassing, though, if his mother is the only one who buys it!
he is playing a lot as Austin is a great music town. But he is mostly a bassist in other people's bands.
UD?
I'm sure many artists started out that way
like, believe it or not, Orange Jefferson, at the Victory Grille
in the US* d'uh
but he's pretty old.... as is his mom
I have two cousins who live in Austin one from each side of the family I'll have to tell them to check it out
old means more experienced
and I'll bet he's not very
old I mean
his name is John Reed Kelley and he used to play with JRWright (who died) and before that, with mysteriouswaysband, a U2 tribute group
Okay. Now, I'll buy a CD, then I'll write to EllenDeGeneres, and she'll have him on her show, and the rest of the world will buy his CDs.
I love Austin - great food
{{christine}}
I've never been
that's what he needs ruby someone to promote him
when I vvisit him, all I do is eat: sushi, steaks, Mexican food. The restaurants here, except for the exorbitantly expensive ones, are less than mediocre.
and btw John Reed was my geometry teacher
Rubyfoo, your son is John Reed Kelley? I'll look for his CD.
too funny! It was a name in my first husband's family : John Davis, Reed Davis, Donald Reed, etc. And for that husband, it was a joke about the John Reed young Communist clubs ate Harvard, where he went to school
it is called (very cutely, I fear), johnreedmushroom!
oh yes Warren Beatty in Reds
is it on iTunes?
I think the link is in my profile. Sprite actually bought an album!
1st husband was a historian
then I shall buy one too for my birthday
{{westford}}
I think I might have liked knowing your first love history
happy firthday to you!
make that first comma love lol
send me an e-mail and I'll fill you in, if you like. I am looking for somebody to ghost-write my story; it is too risky while people are alive!
thank you ( Colin Firth? )
not my type,, I prefer Jude Law! but he's a little (a lot) too young
as long as it's not too risque lol
he's good too
ewwww look the cat grabbed something and dragged it in
it's just a question of changing names, etc. and dates and places, too
did you see him in Sherlock Holmes
well what do you know !!
((((kiwi)))
when my son was last here, cleaning up my messy studio, he said "How many boyfriends did you actually have, Mom?" I said, "None of your biz" or, as the French say, none of your onions!
westieeeeeeeeeeeeee xxxxxxx
hello kiwi, was it dead or partially alive?
it was me ruby lol sneaking in to dust off my chair full of fluff bunnies and cobwebs
this is too cool I'm in Maine and Kiwi is in NZ and Ruby is in France and Christine is in LA?
we are circling the globe this morning, how lovely!
friday eve here ruby
but what are you Americans doing up so late -- party party party
I think of you every time my phone rings kiwi I have Slice of Heaven as my ringtone
Friday morning here
I love this time it's nice and quiet
Morning all.
hi sood Ireland heard from
aah, now we can be complete! Ireland is filling in the blank geographical space!
Lol!!
how are you, soodle? You caught me being bad ruby the other night!
Ruby - You are an utter disgrace. :-). I am well, thank you. Just heading off to work....
GroovyKiwi - suat bunnies? I read recently where they were called slut's wool.
raofl!
hahaha lol
blimey -- that was supposed toi read DUST bunnies.
I read that laughing is actually good for your health! I need more of it, that's for sure!
close enough
My personal philosophy on housekeeping:- If your house is clean, You are houseproud. Pride comes before a fall. Ergo, if your house is clean, it will fall down. Fact.
Rubyfoo, just a question -- did you receive an officiual reprimand from Dr.God, or tut-tuts from other babblers?
my personal philosophy on housekeeping is boy im glad i can afford a houskeeper lol
I've learned that if the mirrors are clean, the rest of the house looks OK. And if not, tough
Mine is stay in or on the bed, and let the pets enjoy themselves.
IF IT CAN
no no, it was on the old Scrabulous. Dr. God, like his namesake, keeps pretty aloof
alright apart from the bottom D i have NBT lol
E SEEN FROM BEHIND MY BOOK, i don't acknowledge it.
I have many blank vowels
What the heck!
todo
hi everyone
I don't think it's a word, but sorry anyway. Is there coffee in the |PB?
hi andree
Bad Rubyfoo -- teasing us with non-words.
gj kiwi you're getting into the swing of it again
Hi, Andree
hi andree haven't been on with you in quite awhile
evening andree xxx
how are things
?
i cant lie westie - i was practising earlier today on the other grid and managed to get down to 50 words to go before flip - was only here 2 hours lol
ages
oh nice kiwi does that mean you're going to be here more often?
andree you were setting up your home office
oh maybe maybe not lol
yes west all set up and running, nice working from home
my husband has been for the past few years and it's mostly nice
great for him not to have the commute
kiwi are you all moved in now? seems the last time you were in the middle of that
the only problem is when i am not busy i find things to do at home or bake a cake or something, when i was in a properoffice and wasn't busy i babbled
aah, another perfect aussie wife!
we can all take lessons from them there wimmen
all settled in nicely - been doing a lot of gardening both outside and inside my new greenhouse
Hello everyone. Andree! Hugo grew up behind our back, what a rascal he looks like
how lovely to have a green house! here it's catch as catch can for the fruit and vegetables!
no husband ruby!!!
that's right your Spring is here
i built a vege garden for outside and got some veges out of it over winter
smart andree!!!!!
I remember you serve lots of veggies
in my greenhouse i have about 30 tomato plants and 10 strawberry plants just coming into flower
I never know from year to year. The only things which are reliable are roses and blackberries
and andree Hugo is adorable..what a face
and ive just planted sweet corn and bean seed
oh and peas as well
This is my first year for strawberries; I put in 12 little plants and they've produced a few large but not ripe berries
hi lyn !!
all the figs fell of in June and again in September, without getting ripe
strawberries need lots of rain? or is it sun?
toxis
there's another non-word!
I think sun and warmer temps. It's been pretty cool
i did not get a single tomatoe , the possums ate the lot, boy was i mad
soodle, are you still here? you're very quiet!
you could always eat the possums, eeew!
pouring here now and supposed to rain all day tomorrow nice Saturday but I'm afraid the ground will be all mud for the wedding
I didn't know possums liked vegetables
I have one cherry tomato plant which has had 100's of tiny sweet tomatoes. The other plants (5), were moderately successful. Some years, all the tomatoes in this valley turn black
possums are herbivores
ruby I think sood said she was on her way to work
a granddaughter West?
they creep me out
i have 20 cherry tomato plants and 10 regular tomato plants that ive nurtured all winter from seed in theg reedhouse
and nasty and ugly. We had them in Miami!
lol the greedhouse
no lyn 3rd daughter's 2nd marriage
greedhouse: where you grow things you don't need!
Our possums are cute though - even if they are pests
kiwi you are going to have tomatoes forever
but pointy little teeth...
hi lynxx
very small affair and will take place in the dog park so their dogs can attend
I had better go and look busy; somebody will be back from the store in a minute.
oh i dont mind westie i love fresh tomatoes
{{lynxx}} and "po***
http://fotofocus.wordpress.com/2008/08 /23/young-australian-possum/
tell me this isn't cute
Good morning/evening all.
hi and bye haz
me too kiwi our neighbor brought over a basket full and they were heavenly
tomatoes from the garden are like nothing from the store!
Bye, ruby.
hi haz
morning Haz!
Rubyfoo, I googled your son, couldn't find him or his CD. My email address is on my profile, if you send me details, I'll buy one - or if he's the one selling them, ask him to email me -- BABBLE in th e subject line, okay?
as long as it's not a basketful of possums!
hiya haz
Hello, Andree, lynxxx, groovy, Christine, westford, Soodle.
Good grief, I proofread that, before I hit send - seven errors. A new record, even for me.
just looked lyn cuter than ours definitely
hello haz
Hi, Haz and anyone I've missed.
hi christine
Rubyfoo, are you still here?
It's FM's birthday today. The woman is a wonder, you'd never think she was 92, would you?
HI, Andree
that's amazing haz she'll get you
It'll flush her out, perhaps...
of course you typed that back to front Haz - it is really 29 everyone
You're a desperate flatterer, lynxxx.
Good morning! As Haz is a year older than me that must make her 93 *grin*
29 same age as me!!!
HOORAY! Good morning and Happy Birthday!
or 28
Good morning and Happy Birthday FM
hi fm and happy birthday
Thank you! thank you! and greetings all.
If I knew you were coming I'd have baked a cake.
LOL westie, I've put a big b'day cake in the PB already.
FM do you have birthday plans?
Isn't it funny - that's the only line of the song I know and now it will be in my head all day.
I'm sorry Haz. I was trying to put that into Christine's head.
going over to visit parents today but sonthing big planned.
Happy 29th FM!!!!
hey FM long time no see I came in specially for thee to wish you a happy birthdey lol
Well, at least you've taken the day off work, so that's a bonus.
lol lynxxx :) Hey Groovy!!!! long time, hope you are well.
That will be nice FM.
i am fine and dandy
umm Haz, been working already this morning and will be later too.
Do we have to call the Birthday Police?
Like I said, you're a wonderful woman for your age. 92 and still working on your birthday.
woohooo the four corners the other d and the l done and dusted
You've still got it, Kiwi. lol
*lobs a custard pie in Haz's direction*
Just a few more years, FM and you'll get that birthday card from the Queen.
you will get it before me Haz :)
Well, that's true, I'll have a year of lording it over everyone. 'Have you heard about my special birthday card?'
Doorbell, might be the postman .. brb
Or some hunk of a courier.
anyone hungry theres some nice italian pa5 in the grid
just right for all your tomatoes
or there is to5 that goes nice with marmite or honey
ty missed that one
or just any old fo4 will do nicely i think
lots of good ea4/4
ok i have a la7 but thats it so far
that's one more than I have
plural of la 6 - another word for lassoo rope
just got it
got them I should say
thx kiwi
thank you
yvw as always
that corner e is worthless
will you move it for me please?
only if you get rid of one or more of the A's please
deal
... and back.
It is a lovely bright sunny morning but gosh it was cold first thing, 4 degrees brrrr.
So, hunky courier or handsome postman?
juvenile looking postie.
I suppose when you're 92, everyone looks juvenile.
but bearing cards and parcels so I was forgiving.
its bad when everyone around looks about 12, that happens to me on a ddaily basis
so nice FM
yes, you know you are getting um 'more mature' when that happens :)
and on that note I am going to go and investigate said cards and parcels. Thanks for all the b'day wishes and hope to see some of you later today. Happy Babbling!
by fm and have a lovely day
Have a nice time, FM!
Have a wonderful day FM
when i go to the doctor these days which thankfully isn't often, i look around for a degree, he is definitly only 12
I know what you mean, Andree. The same goes for teachers and policemen.
and ofcourse postmen
They're the worst - I think their bags are really their schoolbags heavily disguised.
thats why our mail comes late afternoon, an after school job
lol andree
Absolutely! They try to pull the wool over our eyes but we can see through it.
and as for models they really are 12
I know, there's no other way to explain non-existent curves.
a girl in my grandaughters class[she is 14] is a model and earns more than her father !!!
Why do models doing catwalk shows always look so miserable?
she is nearly 6 feet tall
Not a hint of a smile, they look so gloomy.
because they are starving
she must be stunning
Maybe they're worried about getting their homework done.
i'd be gloomy too if all i ate was lettuce
So would I.
she is west
in this case i am so glad she is still at school and hasn't left for a high flying career
time was when a tall girl was just awkward
Is she doing mostly photographic work or catwalk as well?
now it's either a basketball scholarship or modeling
i have no idea haz, just seen her in grandaughters class and know she earns a lot of money, i don't follow fashion seriosly enough to know who is modelling what
Well, if she does decide to make modelling her career, I hope she is successful and healthy, with the emphasis on healthy.
i think the healthy ones end up in a more interesting career
I'd like to see models who look like normal girls..not many are size 0
Yes, but even our perception of what's normal these days seems to be changing - or is it that there seems to be a lot more girls at either end of the extreme spectrum?
that's true
there is so much emphasis on weight
or lack of
its such a boring subject[weight] but it features heavily in every magazine, ho hum
and so many TV ads
it's a billion dollar industry that's for sure
It always amuses me that coming up to Christmas, the magazines feature recipes etc. The new year issues always feature diets to get rid of the weight they've encouraged you to pile on.
Same thing coming up to the summer holidays. 'Get a bikini body in 2 days!'.
I saw an old movie the other night and Jane Russell was in a skimpy (for that time ) costume and she would be considered 'fat' by today's standards
Don't they say that Marilyn Monroe would be the same?
so would marilyn munroe
I believe so. She was a size 14
So ladies, all we have to say is that we're old style movie star figures.
she was a shape and size men like
hear hear
well I just found out that doofis is not a word so I think I'll call it a night
marilyn was possibly even a 16 by our standards and men loved it
nice seeing you all
hi and bye berri
Good night, westford.
bye west
good night haz and andree
hi there everyone
Hello, berri.
hi berri
hi haz hi andree
i keep trying afraid even though i know it's not there
Okay, time I was getting the day kicked into shape. Nice to chat, Andree and everyone. Have a good day!
bye haz
BYe!
cya haz
i am off too , dinner to prepare, bye all
is ata around? I've just ordered some fossils from one of the companies she recommended! happy
bye andree
fo
hi mari
3 fo's for me, fo5/16, and two fo4/5's
finally found a 7, fo7/48!!!!
still 2 more out there!!!!!
hello ishult
hi
ya, got the 7/48
isn't that a word for a sneak thief?
having a lot of trouble with this grid
think your right
it's much harder than yesterday's
my best word is ax5/20 which isn't saying much!
don't have that yet...looking.....
related to the ax4/9
got it
for nbt, middle o and bottom-left d, pls
I am not even close to half!
got the middle o!
yay, half! now I can take a break
see you later, ishult
good afternoon all
awww it is a Frodo grid!
"frodo" was not found in the dictionary ...lol
lol I know... was just happy to see him. Hi ironstein!
hi sprite. I'm having trouble seeing them tonight...135 left
for what it is worth, I am not finding this an easy grid either.
bye for now, back later
good morning friends
I think I have figured out the trick to this one -- throw any nonsense combo of letters in.
might be just you and me Tri gm
good morning, dear one! how are you?
feel like I am still in the twilight zone
sorry?
my brother's death last week
sorry, thot you were here when the subject arose
Oh, I didn't know! Have been WAY out of the loop. I am so sorry to hear this news.
suicide
sound familiar?
right after Zooz' crisis
OH NO! Oh no no no no.....
yes, shocked the hell out of EVERYONE
did he have a history of depression?
my whole friggin family does, but never to that point
Oh, I am just beyond words. I am so sorry....will pray for comfort for you all. When my mom was in her internship surgical rotation, she was present at a surgery where a 5 year old died on the table, but was resuscitated. The first thing she said when she woke up was "MOMMY! When you pray for someone an angel comes and sits with them!" I have held on to that image my whole life. I love love love the idea that angels come and sit with the people we pray for.
see yourself surrounded by them today, if it brings comfort.
oh God, that is a great image
I know, isn't it? Picture one holding you in it's arms, head on your shoulder and all.....lovely
I have been singing to myself the song "Precious Lord" do you know it?
precious lord, take my hand....that one?
yes!
"It is well with my soul" is another good one...Hang on, let me see if I can find the story behind that one, it's astounding...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Is_Wel l_with_My_Soul
I will check it out
he even wrote his own obituary
which my mother did too
your brother did? wow.
phantom: doodad
called 911 just before he did it so police would be the ones to find him and not family
thought that was pretty considerate
I have to agree. as far as planning goes, he really did try to inconvene everyone as much as possible. but oh, the pain of being left behind!
excruciating
angels angels angels angels......
yes yes yes
Good morning all.
gm nonnie
Jean, my heart goes out to you and your family.
ty nonnie
I have to get ready for work now, jean, but I am most sorry to leave you....you will be in my heart today.
thanks for the words Tri, I will check out that hymn
have a good day at work, trif.
Need to start getting ready for work. Jean, if you're still here, I hope your angels wrap their loving arms around you and comfort you so you can get through this difficult time.
ty nonnie
{{{gentle hugs}}} espirit
EspridJean...my condolences on the loss of your brother. Prayers out for you and all those who will miss him.
crap...jean is easier to type when u are first waking up....i cant see straight yet
ty so much
sorry..i was just litterally waking up when i typed that...I had read int he chog last week what was going on and we had a similar situation albeit we were much removed ( a young boy in my kids' school 1 day before heading back to school after summer vacation) so you were very much in my thoughts jean
it's beyond sad
especially in the VERY young like your boy
it is gut wrenchingly painful and i hope that you are finding someone with whom you can talk about this as i know if was me...no matter how logical my brain may be in yelling at my heart that it is not my fault..the emotional side of me would feel responsible and that would tear me to shreds ( i pray this is notyour case )...i would have to check myself into a hospital...but that...is me..
Good morning! So sorry to hear of your sorrowful times, my Babble friends :(
so...please..even if u feel you do not need to "talk" i can only say..talk anyway b/c you never know down the road...
i would be a complete and utter basketcase
coming in at the end to offer my caring thoughts to Esprit and family -
( is the word utter or udder.i hope is utter i cannot imagine a comparison to a cow's boob )....
and carlee, I agree - we had a crisis counseling team in place to help students and teachers deal with a teacher's suicide - and they were wonderful - so very needed. They stayed in the school for 3 full days and were available to anyone after that who requested it - it is indescribable to anyone who hasn't been through it
my mind won't shut off, it's there all the time
Hello everyone
hi lyn
i have been through this...but from a distance... even this boy last week...all i could think of was if i was his mother...i litterally could not go on ( this is ME jean so..please i am NOT at all in the least suggesting this is how u are reacting...this are my naked thoughts ) and i would be absolutely shattered
hi trix
off to the train, thanks for prayers for my brother everyone
no, I understand carlee
((Espritd)) no wonder - it is so recent, time will lessen the grief. How are his 'boys'?
Good Morning babblers
{{gentle gentle hugs}} jean
fortunately (?) our parents pre deceased, but his kids are left with an awful mess
(((((Jean)))) God loves you!
they are in their late 20's
hi Nono
one of the boys will be ok I think but the other one is at risk
Nan, that keeps me going
thankfully then they are not young ones who cannot begin to even consider rationalization
Maybe you can get help together, ask him to help you
get him in to talk to someone
they live in another state, but I have certainly suggested it
good idea lynxxx
this just shocked the living hell out of everyone
anyway, must race for the train
it always does...unfortunately the ones who mean it often dont cry for help
thanks you all for the support, you can always be counted upon!
take care of you hun...indulge urself...
bye Espritd, be thinking of you, chin up
take care Jean
How are you doing Nono?
now to completely change the subject... i have had a wicked craving for toast and peanut butter the last few days...its really odd
fish and chips for me - for weeks!
no..i have had fish a few times
i am excited tho...am going to a fall fair tomorrow..fair food!!!! artery clogging fair food
I am doing ok Lynxx there have been some sad days, especially hubby's birthday. But I am mustering thru
that my dear is all anyone can ask of you...
we'll just ignore Carlees food fetishes!
lol, i dont know.... fair food sounds very enticing about now
lynxxx...it happens but once a year... so crap like deep fried mars bars and deep fried butter ( that is the latest craze this year so i have heard ) albeit dreadful for you...if it is once a year..it will not kill you
It takes a long time to get over a loss but from one so close must be so so hard
funnel cakes and maple fudge
mmmmm mouth is watering Carlee
we have been doing bthe frozen and/or deep fried mars bars for years! blech
apparently this deep fried butter ( has cream cheese and icing sugar mixed in) is amazing... you drizzle hot fudge or caramel over it...i plan on trying that one
what are funnel cakes? (we have funnel web spiders here but sure they aren't involved)
u take waffle batter and run through a funnel creating a stream into the fat...fries up but makes a diff pattern for each one... and then once done..take it out and dust with icing sugar
it sounds very rich carlee
corn dogs
candy apples..cotton candy...
that is what fair food is...rich...oh and falafels...
what are falafels?
I'll pass on the funnel cakes thanks
falafels - yes pleae!
morning all
falafels are like meatballs but mdae from ground up chick peas ( garbonzo beans) and spices..u fry them up and serve on a pita with tomatoes and tziki sauce

hi Mom
morning Boo
did anyone have a rainstorm yesterday as we did
how many words today please
we did not, Boo. I heard Brooklyn did
151
Hi Sandra 151 words today
thanks
you're welcome
where do you live Boo?
New York
in the city?
no country..near Canada
I heard the city was hit hard as well
It was just windy and huge waves from the river
I have written to Anniebrook to see how she faired but have not heard back from her
I hope she is ok
from the video I saw on the Weather Channel it looked really bad
so do I, Boo.
yes it was terrible. I have never seen a storm like that
we only managed a light shower out of it
that's good
did you lose electric?
no thank god
that is a good thing. was there much damage where you live?
it is just starting to get cool at night since Fall is upon us
no just alot of leaves off trees
glad to hear that.
When I hear from Annie, I'll let you know
ty
what's your email Mom
if i may ask
KLD1057@fuse.net
ty
if I hear anything I will let you know
you're welcome. Do you want to drop me a note so I'll have your address?
yes I will
thanks Boo
okay
yw Mom
I read in your profile that you knit and crochet. Are you on Ravelry? I am a beginner crocheter
Boo, just heard from Annie, she is just fine. She has a friend in from Florida
Yes I am on raverly. I just sent you an email
she said trees are down all over Brooklyn but she is safe and sound
I haven't been on raverly in awhile
that's is good to hear
just replied Boo
ty
I am only in one group there but it is too warm to crochet. My name on Ravelry is the same as the first part of my email
original, huh? :)
ok. Can't remember what mine is
it has been a while then
it is fun to knit and crochet. I like crocheting better because it is faster
yes it has
I have tried to knitting but I am really bad at it
I am beginning to think I am getting too old to learn to do this stuff.
My older sister taught me to crochet and I taught myself to knit. Who taught you or did you learn your self
no you are never too old to do anything.. You go GIRL
our public library has a Crafter's group twice a month. I learned to hand quilt there 4 years ago. They have since included crochet and knitting.
a lady there taught me to crochet. I am left handed so it was difficult for me to learn from a right hander
nice. When I worked in New York city there was a craft store down the street and a group of ladies went there to knit or crochet
I went on my day off and it was much fun. It was a highlight or my day off
that would be a neat thing to do
you are retired?
it was neat. No just unemployed
oh Boo, I am sorry to hear that
I take care of my Mom. She is a handful but fun to be around
what a sweet thing to do
I figured that since she took care of me all those years ago,now it is my turn to look after her
I have a large family so we all help out. I am lucky
You have a very good attitude Boo. My Mom is at an assisted living and still drives me cray
that day will come for me at some point. She is a sweetheart.
Hi Bichon
ty bichon. Is your Mom ok
Physically she's so so , but her mental state is declining rapidly. She's 86.
oh my. My Mom is 87
my mom is the baby of the group she is 74
we will all be there like them someday
Her tooth broke and she feels it's a dental emergency. It's not and she's unhappy about waiting for an appointment. She's refused to go to the dentist for 3 years because she doesn't have any dental insurance
oh Bichon. How long does she have to wait for an appointment?
that must be hard for her
I want to call my dentist, but it's about 40 minutes away from her. She is thinking about another alternative, but I don't think there is anything realistic. The local emergency dentist gave her appot. for next Tues., which I think is reasonable.
hello all, wow, bichon, I don't think that's reasonable. I think she should be seen right away - is it not possible she could cut her mouth on a sharp edge?
that's good for her to have one
Hi Flosey
hi Flosey
hi boo and Mom
an emergency dentist gave an appt for next Tuesday?
that doesn't seem like they're treating it as an emergency!
well the day is moving right along and here I sit. I had better get busy. {{Hugs}} to all of you.
bye Mom
Apparently they don't see anything but pain as an emergency.
bye bye Boo
nice chatting with you
bye mom, have a good day
bye bye Flosey, enjoy your day as well
nice chatting with you too
thanks
ty Mom, will do
hope I haven't offended, by being forthright with Bichon
take care Bichon, I hope I didn't speak out of turn
speaking from personal experience
Flosey, I fear we have
very sorry, Bichon
as am I Bichon, please accept my apology
NO Mom, it's a difficult situation to know what the right thing to do is
I understand bichon. It will work out
Bichon, I was not criticizing you, my feeling was that the dental office might have taken it more seriously
I agree with Bichon, it is a tough spot to be in but I would have thought it being an emergency dentist they would have gotten her in quicker. It wasn't my intent to upset you and I hope I didn't.
I meant to say I agree with you Bichon.
Good morning, children of Earth. I come in peace.
Hi Judi
good morning everyone
good morning Judi and crossy
Hi Cross
Oh, no Mom, not at all. It's just that I've been trying to get her to go to the dentist for 3 years, if just for a cleaning
morning Judi and Crossy
I can understand Bichon.
now, off I go, the floor are calling my name. {{Hugs}}
Reading back in the chog. Bichon - if mom is not in any pain from the broken tooth, she should be okay waiting until next Tuesday. If there's pain, the Dentist should see her right away.
re: broken teeth.i once had a brick fall from the 5th floor of a construction site and hit me in the face, breaking 3 lower teeth in half.the emerg dentist was so overloaded,he fixed the two that had me in agony, the last one was not causing pain so he fixed it later that week
Ouch, Crossy! Rule of thumb, never look up when someone says "look out!".
indeed
Or, bricks are not edible.
big ouch Crossy
unless wrapped in bacon!
'morning, babblers ... dreary day here in cowtown (and cold, too ... snow last night, but only a little!), but i have the day off, so it's GREAT!
mmm.bacon bricks....
hmm bacon wrapped bricks..
never had them lol
*grin* Morning/afternoon all.
this grid is a little beast :)
if the dentist can't to u right away, then at least get him/her to write u out some pain medicine...u need to take some ibuprofen for some of the pain and swelling

okay
any clues on the ar6/18's?
ar + third person of verb to be, plus English slang for thank you is first one.
Then make latin plural of it for an ar7

Then change last vowel for the other ar 6/18.
i must be a little slow .. can't find any pics of the meet on your fb, hego
ty Sally
Clue for the third fi 5/16 please

HI EVERYONE - been away for a while but back to tackle the grids. have been missing everyone
hello everybody
hello jacq and anike and welki and jmc
do you think sally will put some in the PB? I'm ready to type in some words.....
Hello...
hello jellen
How are you, ruby?
tired of mr. cranky
and it's very gloomy here, days are shortening very fast
I bet it's exhausting being around crankiness all the time...
today a neighbor came to get me to take me around the neighborhood to meet some of the witnesses and he was annoyed that I was gone for an hour....
at cocktail time, no less! Now he's not speaking to me
Goodness! I'd be tempted with some smart remarks in return...
he's just silent
how is your singing going?
I'm not much of a singer...must be thinking of someone else...lol
I thought you were taking a class in choir singing.... d'uh me
Ah...someone was coaching me a week or two ago in singing for church...
yes, that's it!
I don't sing from my diaphragm...end up croaking like a frog...
I was so envious that I remembered
I can only sing to the dogs; they are appreciative of my poor efforts
I tried to concentrate last time I was in church...went a little better...
I'm not quite an alto, not quite a tenor...
I've thought about taking voice lessons...a friend of mine teaches at the local college...
I'm the worst singer
But now I'm thinking about taking jewelry-making lessons this spring...I had so much fun with my niece last weekend...
Hi Jellen. What kind of jewerly do you make?
I would think that they were howling with appreciation ruby..lol
Hi, Boo and ru!
hi jellen
actually, they drool when I sing (but maybe it's because I sing when I'm bringing their dinners)
oh.. that'll do it..
I guess I'd best get to work and quit fooling around. bye for now.. have a nice day everyone.
gd night everybody
Right now, I make beaded earrings and necklaces...but last week I had a lesson in metalwork at a crafts studio...played with hammering and soldering copper, brass, and silver...
{{jellen}} and boo and ru
Bye, ruru and ruby!
Wow good for you. Hi Ruby
*po***
hi and bye boo

hi jmc, lynxx, Babblers.. almost forgot to finish the grid, gheez
*checks pretty red toenails*
hi aloy!
are you hearing an echo in the chog, jmc?
no but lynxxx asked me to be quiet and . . . i am not very good at that
ooh.. (whispers)
OK you can sing louder now if you want.
HI JMC & ALOY!!!!!!!!
YEAH!!!!!!
ty, lynxx... hi (-: are you almost finished? I have 34 left to find
omg i just sent an email saying it was the last one i was sending to this group until monday and one of the guys replied to it talking about how much we got done and asked if i was satisfied *pulls out hair*
103 left
Just finished, bit of a twisty grid. Not really that hard but I coudln't find them without Lickety
whooo hooo lynxxx
congrats, lynxxx!
so you aren't satisfied at all jmc?
lol i just can't get this guy to understand that i cannot spend 100% of my time on this one project like he -- retired doctor-- can
i say i am not responding so he asks one last question!
Isee - at least he is very keen though. Any news on the possible new job?
just pretend you haven't looked at your email.. till Monday, like you said
no the next step is to tell me (or not) to come interview in person in Dec. but they are meeting in Oct to decided
trust aloy i did NOT respond lol
actually i just drafted another resume for a job in geneva
and spent part of the day pricing apartments in Philly
Wow! and are you serious about that one too? or do you want the other more?
i have been sadly neglecting babbleland
Philly? where the first job is?
see what you mean about "twisty", lynxxx.. whew
i think the one in philly would be easier, but being in geneva would be more exciting
finished Aloy?
22 left, found the do6.24.. twisty for sure
and the travel, think of the travel, all those places in Europe you wanted to visit
i could kidnap ruby *bounce bounce bounce*
...as I walked down the sttreets of Do****....ooops, wrong word
half the time i can't find them after i type them in the grid is sooo confusing
that song is "laredo" lol!
no, that was it lynxxx
lol.. whatever
as long as you get the clue who cares if it is right?
I know! but that word always reminds me of the song
Philly? I live in Philly, "Whaddaya wanna know" :)
it always reminds me of a book i won in the 5th grade: Gordon and the Hidden Treasure about a Mexican racoon
hi zolily
hi
i was just looking at places in Center City since I hate commuting
Nice. you familiar with philly?
there was one on Penns Landing that looked really cool if a tad expensive
any clues for the 7 letter words?
so the Phiily job, you are the only contender? they are thinking of creating a job for you?
fairly zolily since i am quaker (it is mecca) and i have a bunch of in-laws there
fo7: add a softness to the body part
no no it is a job with several contenders . . . i only apply to jobs where i will be the boss (i have low tolerance for people telling me what to do)
ar6.18 & 7 - sound like they come from an upper class family - latin end
*looking for fo7*
jm, do you want to leave your current job?
Okay. Yes, all the Friends schools plus Pendle Hill. Enjoy, I've always liked living here.
i am stepping down jayk
fo7 is also a thief or highwayman
even tho you have a heavy foo7 in it?
hi
la6.18/7 lassos
hi there kje!
it does seem to have its pluses and minuses zolily -- maybe you can come to our next babble meetup in philly
or is that lassoos
hi kje
ooh! stepping down like not wanting to work as much?
ahoy aloy!!!
(haven't gotten to say that in a while ; )
were you affected by the bad storms in Tx kje? We got them yesterday..
no just ready to do something new jayk I have done this for 11 years
they are starting now
I'm new to this, but would be interested. how do I find out about the time?
lassos is correct
I recently decided I didn't want to work full time for anyone. So now I consult with homeless and refugee groups
oh, you mean last week? yes... tornados and flooding but my house was not hit
my son and his fam are now in Austin.. I feel a Tx visit in my future
zolily? what time?
welcome to Babble, zolily !
fun aloy! let me know - austin is a ways
time and date for the babble meet up in philly
TX is so BIG
la6.18? I dont understand the clue could you cule it differently
I think it past, zol

really aloy? that's where I am
speaking of kj ... you never came back down here
BUT, I do have frieds I visit down there, so I can go down if it works out that I am free - can't if I am on the wards
thanks so much!!
jm" what is the org you are currently with?
wild - what are you talking about?
you were supposed to come when doren was here and you couldn't
have you lived there long, wildcat?
so I expect a visit another time (hint)
14 years aloy
they are brand new to the area and so far LOVE it..
I still love it
oh, o - it was bad timing
whereabouts in town are they?
excuses, excuses
uh huh lynxxx
well, lynxx, I am a working woman... the excuses are legit!
lol
oh dear, don't have their address in my book yet.. near a park and near a university and a YMCA and the children's museum
k so they're downtown or south
I'm north
but it's not too bad of a drive into town
ok.. they are renting, and scoping out housing.. leery of flood zones
gonna love you and leave you - Byee
byee lynxxx... and congrats again
well it's a bad time right now for flood zones ... anything near any creek or lake flooded very badly last week
hagd, lynxx
bye lynxxx
yes, their Y was flooded
off to supper, bl to finish.. happy Babbling!
bye aloy
bye - bon appetit
leaving soon for son's football game and it's POURING
cuz apparently we needed more rain
Hello all!! IT'S FRIDAY!!!
stay here and stay dry
hi and yay jill!
so tempting kj .. but it's his senior year and I'd hate myself later if I missed anything I could've attended
Wildcat, football games here can even mean snow!! LOL
well... say a cheer for me then!
that's not in our vocabulary
will do
Should go to our game tonight but none of my youth ministry teens are players...just have two cheerleaders!
I went to all the cheerleading games too for my daughter
I'll go to our soccer matches for some, wait for basketball season to see both players and cheerleaders.
heading out into the rain .. bll

so is anybody thinking of going to jon stewart's rally?
fireworks.. anyone need a clue before I go?
hello and i am hurshy, are you?
(thinking about it)
i don't know, it's kind of far, but i'd kind of like to support the idea
I need a clue
ok, wheetz.. do you have a preference?
would probably be quite an experience... but i don't really dig crowds as much as I did when i was younger
this is the trouble with having a rally for moderates... we can see both sides of the decision
just love the idea of messing with the tea party folks, who think they invented rallies
how about sa 6.18, my last word: sa + black goo on the road + the beginning of the alphabet
Yay aloy
ty Aloy
hi Dorens and hi Hurshy

Okay, I guess I'm the only one here. Could someone let me know how tough the grid is today? (Must be pretty easy if no one is chatting)
How about a clue for that middle I for NBT then?
NM; I got it. 20 words for NBT! :-)
HI all! I seem to be missing a clue. The stats show a P4. Anyone know about this.
Sorry Hot. I just got here and no one is talking (but I'll look)
so far I've found 2 P4's
It appears there are 7 P4s which one>
What are the stats?

Bye Hots
Nef how you toda?
I'm fine now; I've been a bit under the weather today til supper
:(
how are you doing? (I'm glad it's a weekend)
Weekend here. I could ahve slept more
I'd like to have slept longer but staying in bed didn't feel good either (achy joints in this cool rainy weather)
Hello all, just coming back and am sure I won't finish the grid.
Hi Stid
hi stidg
Hi nef and herin.
how are you today, stidg?
I am fine today, thanks for asking. I am looking forward to a trip to Southern California and blue skies next week.
last two ar5/10's please?
OH! That sounds WONDERFUL!
sorry, peg. I don't have them yet

Sigh I have the attention span of a fish
why, herin? Too tired today?
Just distracted
so what's distracting you? (Something good or fun I hope?!)
hi folks
hi welki
Hi Welki
Nothing in paticular Nef just distracted
haven't 'seen' you for a long time, nef .. read your profile and it looks like things are a little calmer in your neck of the woods. ('course, the update was almost a month ago, so the sh** could have hit the fan again!)
would a cup of coffee help?
Did that.
I think I am a little excited about Monday and teh job interview
I tried some bush tea from South Africa today. It has no caffeine and is naturally sweet.
I read another #1 Detective Agency book by Alexander McCall Smith. Such interesting settings and nice people (except for the nasty ones.)
welki, I've been here a bit more often lately; forgot I should update my profile a bit. You are right: things are a lot better now. DH will never be back to the "old" normal; but he's doing 100% better now
You may be thinking about the interview more than your conscious mind is admitting.
one minute at a time, eh?
Yes indead Stid
I love detective books in the summer, stidg. But once it starts turning cold; I prefer non-fiction better
That and I am doing volunteer work on Monday and Tuesday
Job interview on Monday??? Sounds great!
I choose my music by season. Bach is for fall and winter. Debussey is summer. Beethoven is whenever he wants.
that's because fall and winter are good times to nap, nef. and nothing puts you to sleep faster than a good non-fiction book :)
Nef Wednesday
ohhh, and i would think that chopin would be for fall (nocturnes and mazurkas, especially), mozart and sibelius for winter, back for spring and beach boys for summer!
no, I usually stay awake when I read, welki. I think maybe it's related to the discipline of the winter months?
Monday Volunteering witha not for profit non kill animal shelter at the Show
back -= bach
stidgmere! I know stidmama is busy with school...would you please let her know that no baby yet but has been scheduled to be induced on the 22nd if baby doesn't come before then!
(and i agree .. beethoven whenever you want)
Yes, mcurls. I will let her know still waiting. She called on her way home (using the blackberry devise) and sounded much more relaxed than she was prior to starting the student teaching.
LOL!!! I've never thought of music by the season. I think of it more by the mood or what I'm doing. My dtr does fantastic on housework when Vivaldi is on! :-)
MC whom is having a baby?
I'm glad. I took a "mental health" day today and came up to spend weekend with mommy to be. Work had just gotten to much
the only way i could learn history was to associate a particular era with its music and art
I don't do much Sibelius. I enjoy Edvard Greig. He is an all around the year composer. Such an ear for melodies and then rhythms of the dances are so fun.
*laughing* and perceptions are our own .. i think grieg is totally winter
I love Greig too
herin--my younger daughter and hubby are expecting their first---a little girl Paige Joelle who was due on the 15th! We're still waiting LOL
My friend the other day said to me ''I would like to go to (insert shop name) and get the ANdrew Sisters, I don't think you would know who they are'' I informed her that I was not brought up in a cave
Being a northern guy, one would think so especially with peer Gynt but his lyric pieces are very outdoorsy.
MC Supper excited for you
I remember being 8 yrs. old and my Aunt would put on "In the Hall of the Mountain King" while we ironed clothes in the evening
grandbaby #3 for me!
ride of the valkyries, hall of the mountain king ... winter, winter, winter *lol*
Grandbabies are so much fun! I'm loving my 16 month old grandson's visits
I remember a friend telling me that he couldn't listen to Ride of the Valkyries when driving it made him go a little road ragee
I get to be in the delivery room for this one. Was at the hospital for first but had to wait in waiting room; was not allowed anywhere near birth of second one (long story)
wait a sec .. wagner, not grieg for valkyries, right?
yeah, wagner (ooops)
MC all will be OK
and on that musical note, i'm off for the evening ... 'night folks
Yup, welki. I just checked because I thought *I* was losing it! :-)
I have to wait until October 10 for my friends baby. Not taht I am excited (having spent $$$$ on baby clothes for the)
can't wait! OMG herin it will be 10-10-10 How cool!
*hugs all* HELLO! MY first 5-day week!!!! (I survived...)
mcurl, how are the kiddos in your neck of the woods?
yahooo Stiddy! hi everyone!
oooh grandbabies!
Hi Stidm
My dtr's college roommate and her hubby just had a baby boy the end of August. The christening is this Sunday; I'd like to go but it's at 8 AM and about 90 miles away. My dtr is going down tomorrow to be there; but I've got several things to do here so can't go with her
Yep MC
LBD!!! I did NOT scare any children today AND I maintained good classroom control AND I taught at least one part of each of the five class periods!!!!
I have been informed that I am in a lot of trouble for spending on this new baby. I told her that I was not in trouble as I had been collecting for 6 months
YAH Stid
Yay, stid!! I bet the students all survived too!
Hi LB
STID!! Didn't think you would be on. We are all fine. no baby yet; set to be induced on 22nd unless baby comes before. spending weekend in Fed Way just in case
Nef just go.
Hi lbd!!
(O hubby oppsy)
Hi Herin! Oh Stiddy, I knew you'd be successful. and you'll get better with each lesson! that's a promise!
hi Nef
ah, good thinking. the nisqually bottleneck has been AWFUL this week. Except this morning. I left five minutes earlier than normal and arrived 30 minutes faster....
hey Nef!
amazing how just five minutes can make the difference in commute
yeah, herin. DH doesn't travel very well yet; and I don't want to leave him alone overnight
I am going to spend a few nights in a hotel up thataway because I have a few late-night must-shows and can't see driving home for so long and getting only 5 or 6 hours at home before I have to drive back.
I'll be off wk from Wed thru end of week unless little one appears before. I was "off" this week for four days---three to do reading assessments and today for my mental health
that's a good idea, stid. not worth the stress and wear and tear on nerves. just make sure the hotel has wifi! lol
amazing and stupid. If the military had been THINKING they would have considered fixing the infrastructure BEFORE they closed all those bases elsewhere and piled the people into McCord and Ft. Lewis. *shakes head at stupidity of leadership*
*worried mama look* are you stressed, mcurl?
stid---military intelligence????
stid, that sounds like my morning commute if I take the freeways: if I leave 5 minutes before 8; I can get to work in about 20 minutes; if I leave AT 8 or a little later; it's a good 45 minute commute.
hey hey, be nice. I was a spook and take the oxymoron personally. ;)
rofl, no kidding! yes, there is a comfort inn close by, and should be reasonably priced since it's a truck-stop area.
yes, I was in fact. the Reading assessment takes me at least 2 weeks to prepare for and 2 weeks to finish up all slammed in 1 week!
that's about it Nef, but over a distance of close to 50 miles.
Hi stidmama. I have the note from mcurlschool but you have just received her news. Glad you have time to be on the grid. I'm off as I want to watch some tv. See you tomorrow.
ACK. that does NOT sound like a good way to do those assessments!
hello Mother!
(((hugs Mother))) see you tomorrow!
jeez, just found out about the tornado in Brooklyn yesterday: http://parkslope.neighborhoodr.com
LB I read that as I was a spook I take being a moron personally. SEE I really need a midday nap
hi/night, Stidgmere
lol herin, yes naps are an important part of a day
bonsoir, Une. yes, heard about it on the radio as I was driving this morning. sounds very scary
Nap? *snoozes*
stiddy, the pix are incredible
**does take being a moron personally too!**
it was a little more difficult this year because the program we use was "updated" and had new requirements both in data preparation and testing pieces. Took longer to prep and enter data than I'm used to and some staff are not as helpful.
That is a rarity on the Tornado there isn't it?
I'm glad your school stuff is going well.
Sorry LB
we are running SRI tests on the kids Monday. *figners crossed that the "cow" cart computers work for a change*
np, herin. always up for a good laugh, even at myself!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Next up is our Math assessments (thru same program) but at least that's done on the computers :-)
yes, herin -- article in New York Times: http://tinyurl.com/24zhg5w
thanks mcurl, will be thinking of you, too. I am realizing that by the time the "results" are actually made available to the teachers we will be a whole month into the school year. *sigh*
a whole month for kids to fall further behind.
can't think that way, stid. Gotta keep up the morale, and keep pushing the kids to meet your expectations!
That's why we test so early to, hopefully, get started quicker; it's just stressful
Ta. I should have looked at NY times
trying not to, LBD, but it's pretty clear that some of the kids have "something" going on... (or not) -- you know?
on another note---granddaughter Jordan received a "call back" of sorts from a movie producer requesting more pictures and information!
LB some days I put one foot in my mouth only to change it with another and on special occasions both
woo-hoo Jordan!!!
and it would be nice to have some diagnostic details a little sooner than later.
Oh, and got to see Kaden the other day; he started preschool last week.
Wow I just can't remember not picturing Brooklyn without its trees
is he that old already? they grow up so fast.
yes, he'll be four in Nov. Early diagnostics are definitely a benefit but it's time consuming to get all in order to do it this early but the benefits pay off.
kewl beans, mccurl!
some days, I feel SO OLD!
We use the DIBEL program from the University of Oregon
Stid you feel old All of my friends are getting married and having babies
DIBELs is time consuming, and only gives a limited type of information, but it's a start.
they've revamped the program and let me tell you I'm impressed
lady... my mentor teacher was 3 or 4 when I went off to college... LOL THAT's O-L-D!
one thing it does is meets our AYP requirements for assessments
that's good to hear, I hadn't heard about the revamp. Will need to check it out.
Falls over laughing.
MC is your Grandbaby the little girl in Plaid in the pics?
yes herin
help to get the D in the lower left corner please? my last blank tile.
hi all *worries that peacenic may not be welcome in this conversation*
;-)
i was at a brief training session for dibels once on a supt. day. so glad we don't have to use them!
hey jmc! hey feather!
dibels?
literacy assessment.
lbd i am shocked to learn you were a spook!
dymanic indicator of basic early language
some of my leapster games have arrived! i don't have the leapsters yet though. :(
She is adorable
ah ty feather
it's a diagnostic test that focuses on a narrow range of "necessary but not sufficient" literacy skills for very young (emergent) readers
no i thought the leapsters were a done deal
that LBD is pretty spooky...
they're en-route most likely.
my mother kept getting into trouble because all of her children learned to read too soon and the "wrong way"
there's a "wrong way?"
wait. there's a wrong way to learn to read? heck, any kid that comes into my room reading is golden!
so they would tell her --
ditto feather
Feather my b.f as a child would have been your worst nightmare.
i was a late bloomer in my family i was 4 before i learned to read
no, there really isn't a "wrong" way... there's just uptight people.
NBT!
wtg stidd
poor "slow" jmc.....
He was into reading The Hobbit by 5 and was bored senseless with the basic readers
well it is true that my speaking and reading vocabularies didn't entirely merge until i was in college
stid; I was tryingf to cluer yuo but this keyboard won't co-operate if I hurry
herin, that's no problem. i had a girl last year reading on a second/third grade level. i just gave her more level appropriate material and worked with her individually, and then later in a group of 2 with another girl who was higher.
one issue though can be that sometimes being able to read aloud doesn't necessarily equate to comprehension skills... and the pace and timing of teaching the set of literacy skills that are needed in school don't meet every child's needs
can anybody clue the ao6?
That is sweet Feather. B.f used to ahve Encyclopedias read to him at night as a 3 year old. I was reading Robin Cook books at 8 and understanding them
i would read all the text books in the first three weeks of school (even the science books in the back of the room that we never opened all year) and then be bored
one of my sisters had both of her kids reading before 3 yrs old. They are brilliant even now
it's a babblet dan, ao + carpal tunnel is a pain in the w****
ty stid, I thought surely the monkeys had tried that one
ao+ a fl**** is where you buy flowers
<==not so brilliant anymore
anyway, I am working on being smart with my eyes. close enough to halfway to be happy for tonight. I am glad I got to see you-all!
and Nef
sure thing dan
bye stiddie
I will see you-all again over the weekend, I hope. *hugs and choclits for all* *poof*
(((((stid))))))
it's always good to see you, Stid
Lovs stid
bye stid
nighters, stiddy
I am a terrible speller the words don't seep into my brain
that's what the monkeys are for herin
Hi jmc and feather and dan2. I was trying to update my profile and missed your entries
I had no proper education in Years 7 8 9 so my English and Maths are stuffed. Not taught properly due to disruptive classmates
firewords! something sneaky is af5 was my la4 - thanks all cluers
whoo hoo dan2
whoooo hoooooo DAN!!
hi nef
hi to all who entered whilst i was otherwise distracted
YAY, dan2 WTG!!!
good news nef!
my monkeys get extra exercise at work. amazing how they know how to spell words that i can't spell out loud!
and what are you distracted by tonight, lbd? Herin started out saying she was diostracted today too
hows the eyesight?
I am getting another coffee YAh
I have just discovered a new rule in this house
had to check on my class roll. will have 14-16 students
he had his visual field tests yesterday and his nearsightedness (which he's had since a child) is much improved over what it was before all of this started!
is it a good rule, herin?
that's great news, Nef!
and the ramp has to make things easier
Yep. If the cats fall over with a thump on the floor you must pet them NOW
YAH Nef
ah i thought all houses with cats had that rule
herin, your cats are SPOILED!!
It seems as though part of the eye problems were a new side effect from a drug he'd been on for nearly 20 years!
they fall over?
shhhh! you are never to mention it if a cat is clumsy
there's only one cat that i like right now. the MCC across the street. Pounder is so kewl!
the ramp is wonderful, jmc. I didn't realize how stressed I've been til I went to work on Tuesday and wasn't worried about him trying to go outside.
i understand completely nef
more independence for DH! i bet he feels better about it too!
you get so good at bearing up you hardly notice you are carrying the world until someone takes it off you
Yep Nef with a complete thump. Sounds loud. My neighbours have accused as of thumping through the house but it is the brats
And yes they are spoilt
pooh there is no such thing as a soiled cat -- just some cats get everything they are due
Yes, jmc; I bet you do understand. He was whining at me when I came home from work about being cooped up in the house all day. I asked him why he didn't go down his new ramp and use his scooter to go get the mail. You should have seen him blush and then admit that he'd forgotten he could do that now!
po** thing! i bet he remembers tomorrow
Right now my dtr's cat is curled up under my chair and the dog is curled up on my lap.
tomorrow I'll make him get out on his own
sounds cozy
help with the ax5 please

doot doot doot doot out my backdo**
ty lbd
Got a little CCR going there?
yw, jmc. your hubz sure was a handsome man!
well i needed to express my frustration the grid doesnot accept doot!
ty lbd he was a charmer
i should fix the profile though since i am calling him a criminal rather that criminal lawyer
though he did smoke dope so he was both
LOL! I was going to ask you about that, jmc! I was thinking that he was the criminal and you were his defending lawyer! ;-)
*crickets*
no he was a criminal trial lawyer and very good at it
i was proud of him -- his parents always wanted him to do something more "useful"
but he was born to be a criminal trial lawyer
that's reassuring!
like beverly sills was born to sing
we did have a felon secretary though
something more "useful?" how can that be?
they felt that defending "those people" (criminals) was beneath their family
when he went deaf they said it was an opportunity to do something more important like be a professor or writer
my po** hubby wrote like a jail house lawyer! he was a terrible writer!
oh MAN! that would have irked me!
i used to write his briefs for him but he was amazing int he court room
well, either of those are nice, but if his heart wasn't into it, what a waste of talent.
believe me nef i was furious
I can imagine! I would be too!
--waste of talent being a lawyer, not a prof or writer.
they were just snobs about academia
lol you are making it worse lbd!
well, you know what i mean. i think those who practice law are pretty impressive people. lots to learn and know, and criminal law...one needs also to be quite the actor to perform in front of a judge and jury.
Doo, doo, doo; looking out my back do**!
lol yes i knew what you meant lbd and i appreciate it
no no i am sure it is doot not doo!
*stamps fo** *
Lyrics.com says it's doo
JM you on FB?
(I was trying to salvage lbd's butt) ;-)
well they are wrong a good bit of the time i find
not this minute herin
i understood lbd :-D
od 4?
I know ;-)
you both are such sweeties
Ok
I had to tell you something
od4, smell, not necessarily a nice smell
od4== smwell
what? are you trying to ruin my reputation
the smelly one jmc?
not at all, JMC.
i should have just typed it even though i didn't see it!
i can log on herin brb
(I want to buy a new keyboard; I still can't get the fingering right on this!)
what kind of keyboard do you have, nef?
I Thought that Od 4 had more letters
maybe the Brit spelling does?
Brit spelling would probably put a U in there, herin
just like colour vs color
Dang! the cat's started coughing/choking! PLEASE don't hurk up a hairball!
do6 after the drug?
a place called el do****?
hi iron
thx nef!

hi vmach

hi vmach
*puts on foil cap to protect from kligons*
can just call me V, anyone got a clue for E1/2 thats not a heading?
tummy filler V
we can say "mach" today!!!
lol\
tummy filler?
so its a snack like item?
M it was one of those classics I had never read and I felt like I was missing something
cooking show called "Good Ea**"
generic tummer filler
it's an anagram of the heading
lol wow howd i not see that
po5/12 and 6/21?
i thought of that clue pini but didn't know if V was in the US
flip the la** 2 letter of your first word
we all go blind now and again, V
I'm just yanking you chain GE.
that book just cracks me up.. it's so over the top.
I took a wild guess, jmc ;)
*throws a fish at V*
So this is random, anyone here ever play a game called Just Cause 2?
you are a wild and crazy girl pini
no V where is that game?
never heard of it, V
the last book I read was a "fad" book. NO, actually the last TWO books I read were fad books. gah!
its a console game
ah no not really a console game player
since i found a random conversation i thought id tell a story
what is it? first or third party shooter?
I pretty much wanted to slap all of them M
3rd
all the conversations here are random
yes GE.. funny!
and sometimes they are nonsequitor
well today i drove a boat from the top of a blimp, into the ocean and blew up an oil rig
random-r-us
sounds messy
I think of it as the "twilight" of it's time.LOL
800meters to the water
good analogy
i had a boy friend whose initials were RAM and we all called him random
i wish things like that happened in real life
on purpose, v?
yeah
sounds to violent for a little sweet thing like me
it's time for me to read a good book.
oh. it wasn't for real. Thank Goodness!
no he's telling about a 3 person shooter game
do6 before the fin?
just diff last cons
they tend to be less gruesome than first person shooter games
i had the boat air dropped onto the blimp, then i had a car dropped then i attached them with steel cable then i drove off and brought the boat with me, deployed my parashute grapple hooked to the boat while falling got in the drivers seat and fell nose first into the water
got it, thx m9
yw
thanks M
i thought id share my randomness
nice finish, V! LOL
radio is my phantom tonight
ty
well thanks for sharing V
np
pini is more violent than I am so i am sure she appreciates it better ;-)
V, my son is QA supervisor for a video gaming company; and I don't understand anything about video games.

I've been hanging out in the pb all this time anyway, lounging next to the dessert table.. cause I finished the grid ages ago..
can anyone help with at** (2nd column) or st***** please
you fiend!
st***, sorry
found it and i am further confused
(m9 not sara)
well that list is a list of all the words that can be found in the grid
sara... shirly temple was always at4
Vmach, I think that AngelSong's Babble page is more helpful for newbies
Lickety's List provides you with a list identifying the first 2 letters of all words in grid along with the number of letters and the number of points
ar6?
it gives the first two letters then the first number is the number of letter in the word and the second number is the number of points
*heads to pb to finish discussion*
sounds like the elite pini
* blink * huh??? :)
V.. highlight all the words you've already found, then paste them into the "bulk add" box at bottom of lickety
still lost m9
i'm lonely, everyone's in the pb
yeah.. and you said it a BUNCH of times!!!
latin pl for the 7 and masculine ending for the final 6

there is an actress named Eva L. Her full last name is Long**i*, where you have to fill in the missing letters where the asterisks are
fo5?16?
get it?? we're not typing the letters that go in the word!!
those letters get added to the IX to make your word
theres no other I...
don't use the letters in the clue...just the astrisked letters
you don't add the i, you only add the letters that are hidden by the asterisks
don't fo5 your problems off on me.

if you want to find the definition, click on the little question mark next to it in the list
mattafact
yeah when nrkii is determined . . . .
im gonna look at the dictionary definition
long story, V...just accept that you must comply and find the oddest words you can think of!
must. not. fail.
most of the words are generally words you will know
*wipes nrkiis brow*
but there are always some oddballs
resistance is futile. you will be assimilated.
