Hello, Westford
just saw on CNN that six saints are to be canonized tomorrow will have the check the list to see if my name is on it
hi west :)
hi Christine
hi west
hi nan
must see if CNN is back on the air here although I'm now watching the BBC World news...
probably Drew Brees is on that list
hubby wanted FIOS so we got rid of DirecTV and now when you turn on the TV there is no sound
hi ruru yes I imagine he would be lol
Right, ruru
That's weird -- CNN is still black but other channels are ok!
I think Saint Ruru has a nice ring to it
it does
Have you done any miracles lately, ruru?
yeah.. it was a miracle I finished yesterday's grid for one
he hasn't missed a puzzle for a while
halo, kids! xx!
ooh, nice new grid!
I imagine so -- I didn't have time or inclination!
hi jilli an dart and George
125 down..time for list
Halo Georgie!
hi dart
hi west
hi jilli
dart have you been to Iceland?
hi westford and Jilli!!
107 down here.. I should list too
hi west, ru... anyone I missed
howdy!
you guys are good !!
hi dee
hi dee hi

I was thinking a week in Nepal would be good for Dart

ef7 & 8, tizer
and hello tizer
ty
and hello all
Am I the ONLY one who has posted a "cutlery" icon???
ae 6
did I say letter? I meant email lol
I started to jilli but got sidetracked
ty volley
eh? well bloody hell, haven't had time to take a snap of my cultlery and post it yet, ha!
jilli I meant to
yw
I had a great one for crockery but no pictures and it's in Maine
Lovely icon, Jillibus
LOL, christine!
love your crockety, george, lol!
*crockery
you guys better be careful with those R's
jilli that man has way to much time on his hands..we need to get him into Babble
I remember when aw4 & 5 weren't wo5
ok, changed it but didn't take the time to resize!!
true, west!
crashing at 135 -- see y ou tomorrow
hi flosey I have a bean pot just like yours
de 7/36
night nan!
I've never made baked beans though
really, west, we love them here
my mother has an all day in the oven delicious recipe
my mother never made them, gramma did
Used to make good ones, but no point now for one person
we like them too but it's usually B&M or Bush
yeah I agree westie.. Bush was full of beans
wonder if they freeze well?
I should think so, flosey.
my mom tells the story of her father bringing a crock of beans to the bakery on Saturday night and they'd put them in their oven then they'd pick them up on the way home from church
How's this Miss Jilli?
lol ruru almost missed that and I agree
smart man
very good Pav
sure was flosey wouldn't heat up the kitchen that way
Wow, pav -- amazing!
there's a brief summary that goes with it in my account...
not seeing that de 7
my mom so often told me about her gramma making baked beans and brown bread I decided to make them for her - haha she then said, but I didn't say I liked them
re 6/36 ... dumb word
I read it, pav...
i agree volley
that's funny, flosey!
de + what a can is made of + 2 vowels
thanks Dee
thanks dee
that's an odd one, dee! Thx!
yw
wonderful icon stories how can I compete?
yw jili; I agree
it isn't a competition, west
you'll think of something, west -- no need to compete ;)
flosey we have a friend who refuses to eat hot dogs beans and brown bread because his mother made them every single Saturday
yes jilli I know but those are really amazing
flosey is that your pattern?
Just remembered we used to be able to get Boston brown bread in a can -- yummy!
I think mom did that too west, but it would have been beans from a can
yes west, chantilly
still can here jilli when our granddaughter went to college in CA she craved it
it's really pretty flosey
Oh, just saw your cutlery, flosey! Nice!
will alter the pic. later so it looks right
un 6/36 equally stupid word
of course the 'ladies' left all sorts of beautiful cutlery engraved with an R for their last name
My (mother's) silver pattern came from Mappin & Webb in England, back in the 20s.
I like it, also have some that belonged to hubby's mom and it is very similar so can be used together with no one noticing
Don't know what it is.
I offered it to my cousin whose last name is Rogers and she accepted it gracefully. That's when I noticed another cousin whose last name is Ryan giving me a funny look. lol
It's a set of a dozen!
fireworks
wonderful jilli - mine's only 6 so Mrs.L's helped round out a table of 8
fireworks
Yay dart !!
wtg dart
lol volley
YAY dee and dart!!!
ty wtg dart!
yay for the D's ...Dee and Dart...
last word was wa 7/44
oh, and Dee, sorry didn't see yours
ty
oh no I completely missed dee's fireworks.
Double Yay dee !!
may I help before I poof?
last en 6/18?
ty west :~)
en + abbreviated version of island
and et 5/12 would be great
well I don't think I'll get the ef7 8 from the lower right E, so my NBT-1 = 19 for 19
et 5/12 plural of et 4/5... needle case
thanks Dee
thanks for the en dee
...never remember that one.. thanks dee
yw
oh.. didn't see the plural.. thanks
do you want a clue for the ef pav?
hmmm? other than it starts ef? sure
ef + I put up my hands to protect my face and .... off a punch + first person pronoun
or I banged up my ....er in the car crash
pav, the ef7 & 8 are titles of respect in Turkey
yeah...I'll take your wo4 Miss Jilli, and tyvm MIss Dee
so that you don't of**** the person
you sure that isn't gooble-dee-gook jilli?
yqw
lol
good clue jili
dee are there any w4/9 that begin with wr?
absolutely, ruru :)
the fifth en word is en6.12, not en6.18 as listed.. just so you know
no wrs
ty aloy, and hi!
hi jilli (-:

hi West
lol.. off to beddy bye.. was multiplying 6 by 2, not that I have been babbling long enough to know point counts, aargh
Good morning!
hello JC
Hello JC :)
is it Top o' the merning , Sir JC?
Hello, flosey and Jill - and PAV3! :)
good morning JC
Hmmm. I think it's still the bottom - not properly risen yet. :P
pav where did you hear about that cutlery ?
Good morning, westford. :)
Cutlery?
I just googled "photos of strange cutlery"
that's the icon theme for today JC
it does seem like a good idea
of course the people who would need it would be the ones who tend to eat lots of fast foods
very interesting Pav
See my comfy cutlery chair?
Ah, I see. I don't often do themes...
Oh my. That looks painful, Jill. :/
They can be fun.
Talk about a pain in the arse...
there's an attachment for the case that ensheaths the utensil that connects to electronic thingamajig that measures all sorts of things
lol
Well I'm boring. Only a photo of me, for now.
Hehe -- hence the cushion (did you read about it?)
My De4 Sir, of course you
A cushion made from recycled napkins?
it is fun to do and I try, I learn so much too
very eco-conscious ;)
Of course who - what?
wa 6/30?
of course you're boring, but we love it just htesame..and if you weren't boring holes somewhere waht would you be doing?
Yes. I hope the napkins were sewn around some nice, thick, soft padding?
Of course I'm boring?
Am I boring, Jill? Hmmm.
of course you're anything BUT boring, JC!
I received an email from a contact, saying how much she enjoyed the Tunbridge Wells venue - so I can't be all that boring? :P
don't have that one yet ruru
well at this hour of the day, one would assume you were diggin your way out of somehwere or another...perhaps I should bury myself?
which is to say, you're not a bore, at all...I shall not give my day job - that I know
Hmmm? Digging my way out of bed, yes. :P
got it
*shall not give up my day job* - odeah, I'm rambling; I've been up all day Sat and it's time for my retirement
teeny tiny clue ruru?
You're fine, Sir Peter. ;)
That's a good name - it's my father's first name and my middle name. :)
not peace + ends like artichoke family
and the grid doesn't like my cookies..."oreo"
ooh I love artichokes
but I don't know any family members
I like 'em too but don't know their family
Same here...
They are delicious. :)
they are in the thistle family
best not to get acquainted if I'm going to eat them
how about scottish emblem
ah yes thank you flosey !!
that's a good rule to go by westie
and thanks ruru !!
thanks, ruru -- they are a bit prickly, come to think of it
what a weird word!
I have 4 more w's to go and many other non w's too
night all.. I played too many sets of tennis today
we played one set that just kept going back and forth until we all said forgeddaboutit
good night ruru we'll look for you on TV you must be getting good
hoo boy, ruru!
oh those poor boys
I suck at it really.. I just enjoy playing.
I don't know how to play and we have tennis courts across the street from the house
I can't imagine that you really suck at it, ru.
they're in the park
I am a cross of Rafael Nadal and Gerald Ford..lol
I suck too.
I didn't like tennis as a kid -- didn't know I was nearsighted, and we had those tiny wooden racquets, and it was too hot.
I'll take the rafael side
Now now, JC.
TMI JC.. TMI..lol
<< swats Julian!! ha!
Ouch. :/ And trust you to surface then. :P
yeah, but on my way out to Bikram, laters!! xx!
George was here before.
Bye George!
he was being quiet
bye george have fun
Ah, ok. Have a good session, George...
Him, quiet? :P
he must have been sucked into the chat?
I know I should have said 'unusually' quiet
Sucked into what chat?
He was probably busy - getting ready for his yoga session perhaps?
au revoir mes amis
oh. thought it was a club
good night ruru and don't forget to check the list
the list?
a la prochaine, ruru
for sainthood
night ruru!
Hmmm? I'm all confused.
oh.. yeah..
ruru claims to be a saint
*dons white (really white virginal) robes
6 people are being canonized JC I said I'd have to check to see if my name was on it
I thisnk that would be sinful ruru...
and he said Saint Ruru had a nice ring to it
*blesses all Babblers within reach*
Sainthood? Hmmm. I don't think I'd be accepted for membership, despite having been named after a priest - a Benedictine monk, no less. :P
lol thanks ruru
I'm fairly sure I'm not one of the six, westford. :P
I don't think one can be knighted and be a saint...
*sprinkles some holy water on JC*
pretty sure I'm not either lol
Ty ty ty ruru. lol!
and of course I've been a "saint" all my life...ahem...
*waves incense burners around JC*
You're thanking ruru for sprinkling Holy Water on me?
lolol
Ah yes, PAV - sure you have. Just as I have. :P
no, just for the blessing
yes.. JC.. to wash away all of your sins
JC are you melting?
HAHAHA! That would take a lot of washing!
(breaks out Firehose)
LOL!
don't get carried away ruru lol
Yes, ruru - at least. :P
breaks out champers for the celebration...
(i almost forgot I had it)
*blesses Fire Hydrant while opening valve*
gah! babble water fight !!
hmmm.time for a wine break I think...
what's the wa7?
put a t in the middle of the wa 6
ty ruru
actually more towards the end
Scots for a fight or a tussle.
I would, if I had a wa6.
ty Christine
hmmm, rushing to find wa6
hi and nbt
took me awhile on that corner e - new words for me
hi josh and wtg
The upper right corner E, Josh?
not in Turkey much josh?
hi josh...I'm past halfway...49 left, but I'm sure you can finish before I
lower corner, sorry
Too funny, Westford.
i've actually been to turkey, couple of years ago. still haven't come across that word
(puts out cranberry sauce)
It's old-fashioned, josh
title of respect I hear
that explains it, then
i should have gone a few centuries earlier
fresh or canned?
now you'll have to take a shower ruru
I seem to remember seeing it in stories like Ali Baba or something.
???
because you have cranberry sauce all over you
I don't need a shower.. I have Ocean Spray
well, now his robes aren't white...
well, once through Lickety's list and 24 left
lol! ruru
that ruru he's such a caution
lickety's list is here?
gj jilli
such a quaint phrase, west!
I actually have no caution at all ... not one cautious bone...
sure, pav, right from the start
I thought you'd appreciate it jilli lol
the ladies are with you, west ;)
I quite like quaint
they really are
un6/36 is an odd one - i guess a synonym would be erase?
okay.. I need to go get horizontal.
45 left and the midnight hiccup approaches...ta ta! we'll be back in the morning later...much later...
I've tried a lot of un's that don't work
maybe, josh, lol!
be careful you don't end up diagonal, ruru
good night ruru and pav
g'night ruru -- have a cuddle with Dylan...
bye pav. I may not be back tomorrow -- busy, and a visiting niece overnight.
you can get her hooked jilli
I doubt it, west -- she's the outdoor type, here on a bicycling trip.
but everyone needs a little babble in their lives
Well, WE think so
that sounds great though is she with a team?
I'm not sure, but she's with a group, I think -- had a very hurried phone conversation yesterday.
She's at a party tonight
where is she coming from?
Vancouver.
She's a nurse, widowed, two sons, remarried, divorced, now single, sons in university.
really my hubby's niece.
and now she's riding a bike..good for her
I was thinking she would be about your granddaughter's age
She's always been athletic -- used to play and then coach Ringette (a type of ice hockey for girls).
I never was and I never will be
She's in her 50s -- born on the same day as me.
and my mother !! lol
that was a busy date
Great day, right? Should be an international public holiday, lol!
what day would that be?
we'll have to think of a name for it
May 17.
my cousin's is the 16th, but that's all i got
not close enough josh sorry lol
close, but no cigar, josh.
what's your niece's name jilli?
Well, I'm going to pack it in now -- hiccup approaches -- goodnight all and happy babbling :) -- *poof*
Gwen, west.
okay jilli I might have cutlery if you're on at all tomorrow
night jilli
well, Gwendolyn actually.
that would make it the Terry-Jilli-Gwen Day
my mom's name is Theresa
I doubt if I'll have a chance, west :(
mine's sandra
I have a friend called Gwen Day, lol!
what? you're not really josh?
oh you mean your niece
(I was going to bed...)
no, not my niece, another old friend
best laid plans jilli
I think Gwendolyn is such a beautiful name
and Jillian too
I like it too...
Gillian, please.
mine is so ordinary
oh I think I knew that
I like yours, west.
There's nothing wrong with your name, Nancy. It's quite pleasant sounding.
thanks JC but not very sophisticated
my mum's name, sorry
my mum's name, sorry
falling asleep again, off to bed, 29 to go, goodnight all
Why not, westford?
I think it depends on the person carrying the name.
What about your mum's name, Josh?
My mum's name is Brenda.
got sucked up by the hiccup - my mum's name is sandra
Ah, yes. Some words I tried entering in the grid did also, but I see they went in anyway.
HiChristine - good evening, morning, afternoon of whatever. How many words are there tonight>
She must have gone to make tea. Can somebody please tell me how many words?
hello all - jhb 162 words
OKG - and at this time I only have 51.
That should have been OMG
Hello, Luv - I was playing Spider Solitaire
Hello to you too. So you have diverted your attention to the opposition?
I keep drifting, then I see some words & come back to Babbleland.
Well I have just come on tonight and so I am way behind everybody.
I have only 108 words, and I signed-in soon after the flip
It's dinner time here - 8.25 pm - so I think I'll come back later. By all.
Bye Dear
Oh Lord, I did it again - I killed the chat.
gd morning
Ah, someome comes
hello christine!
goodmorning, Rubyfoo.
gloomy autumn here.
My sister left, and took everyone with her.
who is your sister?
morning all
gd morning, sprite
if... I... had... xxxxx... I'd.... make a dayyyyy for you....
it is a singing grid
1234 tell the people what she XXXX! It was an eetse peetsy teeny weeny...
good morning Sprite.....you are in a sunny mood today :)
those are all pieces of songs I should know, but I think I need more coffee before I can retrieve the lyrics!
hello kalia
hi Kallia, I fake it till I make it, lol.
good morning Ruby
oh yes I know all about that
:D
but it is a sunny day here
Rubyfoo - sorry for the delay. jhb is my sister Judith
cold though
Sprite, how is your husband?
here as well, cold but sunny. I don't mind cold, if it means it is sunny though. Could easily stand this weather until end of march, personally.
ahah, that is lovely, to have a sister who plays. Mine won't even get a computer!
stubborn like a chow
my husband is doing well! He is out today, canoeing on wild water 1 in open canoe, teaching a friend how to do it.
Christine, such a charming church you have there.
...test...
It's beautiful inside, too. Very small, a copy of a Scots village church.
it looks beautiful. Must have a special atmosphere as well, I bet.
Rubyfoo, we have another sister (in UK) who used to play, about 6 or 7 years ago, then she stopped. I think she's very vusy with g'chikldren, and researching our family tree.
rubyfoo, maybe she does not feel up to learning something so new and alien.
*oops - busy with g'children
my sister, too, grandchildren and familty tree. But she refuses to get a computer which I think is crazy as she has 3 teenage grandsons, all of whom use computers and live far from her
She expects handwritten letters which won't happen
lol fuzzy or busy...
Smart girl, not to get a computer -- look how much time we spend online.
but she's a very good typist and I think feels that way to set herself apart
she is depriving herself and her grandsons of a lot of fun and easy contact. Handwritten letters? LOL!
I type much faster than I write
Christine, so true. But without the computer, I would be very isolated.
my life, isolated here in France, would be impossible without a computer
well I think demanding other people to live by your rules is taking it too far, grin. So what does she do? Send back typed letters unopened?
that's me done for now. 52 left after first pass, about 20 mins doubt the rest will come as easy lol
lol Kallia, but wtg!
typing is OK, but no computer. Can you imagine teenage boys going to the post office to mail letters?
see you all later maybe
I hope so, Kallia. Have a lovelly day.
lovely* even
bye kalia, that was very quick. I have 96 only
rubyfoo, mine does
you have raised your children right, sprite!!!!
Here, in Los Angeles, the mailboxes have been removed, for me to mail a letter I must go to the postoffice, and thats about $15. each way (plus tip), so I write very few letters. But my sisters (in UK and NZ) and I stay in touch online or on the 'phone.
trying to, rubyfoo, trying to
Christine, mailboxes removed?? My, that is drastic.
that is like trying to find a pay hone in NY; they've gotten rid of them by attrition
I remember when I first came to the US, transatlantic calls were so expensive, letters really were the only way we could afford to stay in contact.
how fast the wo5 changes...
just had a quick read thro, my g/kids and I keep in touch thro webcam and their cousins (with each other) thro email etc..so much more conveinient although I still prefer receiving REAL mail...LOL
years and years ago, when I lived in Paris, my mother and I used to write to each other several times a week -- and she saved all the letters
Pay 'phone have all but disappeared. The Postal Service removed the boxes, and saved on the salaries of the collectors.
real letters are so nice. I still write them and receive them. But I love email and skype.
and hi, dizgrannie :)
Christine, most of our payphones here are by prepaid cards only
hey ya sprite and all
hello diz!
does unsit mean stand up?
hey Ruby
Even I now have a cell phone (about 3 years) but not everyone has a home phone, and the payphones were always busy, when I passed by, so I think there's some call to leave a few.
and undie is living
exactly!
situ
whoops
good latin. Stupid enable
And undies would be living in your bra'n'panties?
stuid ruby!
eeeeewwww Christine!
stuid? is that like stooooopid?
too stupid to spell.
oh god sorry, that sounds much ruder than I meant... it was a joke, rubyfoo.
ooh, that smarts!
I know, hahahah
my 83 yr old mum lurves her puter but still sends cards to her 4 dtrs (and partners), 9 g/kids (and partners) and 17 going on 18 great g/kids....she does make her own ones on her puter, which makes it all the more special
*giggles*
wow dizgrannie, that is very special. How lovely.
that is terrific about your mum, diz
LOL she spends a fortune in ink, but she reckons its worth it cos so much more special for each individual...(guess what us 4 girls buy her for birfy and chrissie...LOL)
just brilliant. Great family, diz :D
ty
...and I memorise each xxxx just like before.... it's yesterday once more.... (all the *****s are goodies....)
My son-in-law's parents retired and mooved from their home of 40+ years to a new area - near the coast in England, completely closed up in the winter, and I suggested he buy a laptop for his Mum so she can stay in touch. The Dad pooh-poohs the idea, saying she's too old.
never too old. No such thing as too old. My grandfather kept learning new things until he was into his 90s.
Hi Christine - so that's where Chris gets it huh?
even my husband uses his computer and he can barely type
hi jhb Christine's sister
Well, she's lodt touch with all her old friends and neighbours, so I think it'd be good for her - stay in touch with her boys.
hello christine's sister, now that yur secret is out!!!
Yes, Christopher takes after his Dad, I think.
Hi sprite - yes I am Christine's sister in New Zealand. How are you.
am good, glad to 'meet' you.
maybe you should just get her a PC and give her lessons
yep, get her going would help. Once she knows the fun of skype and email, she won't be stopped by a pooh-poohing husband anymore.
Judith, Marianne and I started Babbling back in 2004, then we all drifted away for a couple of years.
Quite new to this game rubyfoo and sprite. But hope to get better the more I play. However, I think there is an evil goblin somewhere who puts the grids together - and does he have a monopoly on making up words. He doesn't like my made ups.
Her other son lives in England, and I'm sure he'd help her get started.
I've been playing for 10 months and still am not very good at it
Judith, remember you used to play, way back when.
but friends in the chog help a lot
jhb, that pretty much sums it up! Enable is very partial on which crazy wo5 are accepted and which ones are not. But the nice part is, what seems crazy shifts after a while ;)
and I've had fireworks about 4 or 5 times!
Christine - it was more than a couple of years. I haven't played since around 2004.
Congrats rubyfoo. so there is hope for me yet?
my ever recurring advice is: as long as you have fun playing, who cares about fireworks?
little by litt,e we learn the dopey babblets
yes, that's how I feel and therefore don't list.
Great thanks sprite. And now off to clear up the kitchen after dinner. See you all my new friends. I must say you make me very welcome. Nitht.
bye jhb! maybe see you tomorrow
best way to learn more, if you ask me. I remembered every babblet or crazy wo4 that was clued to me in chat. But I don't think I would remember if I got them from the list.
right
night jhb, have a good evening :)
Night big sister. Speak soon. Have you managed to speak to our other sister this weekend. I haven't been able to get her.
so true Sprite...fireworks is a bonus....I just play to see how I do, if close to finishing I'll list...another thing I enjoy is the chog...xxx
first time I came across 'crwth' and plural, I thought I'd go bananas. Even after they clued it to me. Took me ages to get because I insisted on vowels. Had to learn that w can be a vowel... in some languages, grin.
No, I guess she's with the g'kids. I'll try again, after the weekend. Goodnight, God bless
the chog is supportive, informative and fun.
and truly cross-cultural
oh and another is when g/dtr is here, she helps a lot. Her ypung bro is starting to help as well and he is only 7 1/2
I learned at least as much from the chat as from the grids.
so delightful, diz :D
ypung = young...sorry
I submit 'undiet'. I am a fervent fan of it.
ypung bro sounds almost as a chinese or korean name. I like it.
me too, it's called eating on demand or per carvings!
:D
cravings* hahah
and another, for my g/kids, they look up all the flags in the Atlas to see where you all are
taking a break to warm up; the studio is very chilly this AM
carve out me cravings and shiver me timbers! Rrrrrr!
that is great too, diz, I bet they don't forget that way!
scary Sprite the pirate!
bfn rubyfoo
bfn?
bye for now
no they don't, Sprite, cos its fun learning
duh, ruby
*poof* too
exactly. Fun learning is the best way.
why duh? No need to know everything and asking what you don't know is always the smart thing to do.
nightie nite all whos leaving...have 17 left
well, unless you ask Christine where undies live...
(undies live under clothes)....sorry couldn't resist...LOL
great going, diz! I stay. I have 51 left and no speed at all. Cannot get the hang of this grid. Feels like there cannot be that many left!
lol!
finally Whipped the W's
still need 8 of those. But it is good to know from an independent source that they do exist.
tuff
damn it is a word....sorry
ok, that was a bit too independent!
lol
giggle
as is wo**, btw. Come, let's take over the PB and ..... the cupboards (cannot remember, strip it bare)
?? plunder ??
"plunder"....'pirates'????
loot!
Sounds like Sprite-the-Pirate
yeah, plunder would be good too :D Thanks.
hello friends. was planning to just lurk a while, but "sprite the pirate" and her loot was too good....I am laughing in the dark here
you coming too, Christine? Let's make it an illegal PB party.
hi Trif :D Am glad I brought you out then, love to see you.
*drags Trif into the PB as well*
happy to go....
aye mateys, dig into the crrrrates!
Let's go for it.
Trifioso - how was Thursday?
oh, thanks for remembering Christine, you dear thing! Thursday was unbelievably sad, which really surprised me. I thought I was over the mourning part, but I guess not. I was very indulgent on Friday - got the kids to school and then wallowed under the covers until noon.
The hammer went down, Trif?
Breaking the contract of our marriage was work enough. it's the breaking of the covenant that really makes me sad. I will never have a 25th anniversary party. someday my folks will die, and I will sit on the bench alone. when I am old, my kids will have to hire someone to take care of me....
but now I am done. I shall go on from here to paint a new sky.
(((((((((((((Trif))))))))))))
For what it's wort, Hun, you'll always have us.
it's worth a lot, christine. you all here have been more supportive than a lot of my friends out of the ether
yep. My friends and I have made a pact to get together when old and live together and help eachother... you are always welcome to join us. Seriously.
thank you sprite. what a charming picture! a bunch of old ones, sitting around....your friends all going "who's that american? does anyone remember an american?" lolololol
and I think you will be able soon to let life surprise you... mourn first, then paint that sky and know you are an incredibly lovable woman.
My daughter and her friend pledged to live together in a pink trailer (Lucille Ball movie?) and learn to play canasta.
good morning everyone:)
morning crossy! can't sleep either, huh?
Hello, Luv - is Mrs.Crossy playing tonight?
my friends will all go: "Coffee for you too, or do you prefer tea? Move over from that 'puter, I wanna play too... hey, I'll cook if you drive us to the cinema tonight."
sorry - playing babble.
hi crossy :)
nope, been tossing and turning so may as well babble:)
Christine, that is a great id4!
howdy christine,no she is sleeping
i hear you, crossy. nice to see the european babblers, though....
howdy sprite
I'm going to get tea for the PB -- don't talk about me while I'm gone.
crossy and Trif, you can come toss and turn with us anytime.
aww ty
why on earth not, Christine, you can read it all back when you get back and rant to us about it :D
though I really wish you good night's rests... but it is wonderful to see you.
okay, this may be one of those late night kind of thoughts, but, has anyone else noticed that, when you are trying to enter a wo4, and you think it's not going to work, it's like your fingers don't even want to type it? As if my muscles already know the combination of letters won't work...
so, about Christine... what do you think, guys? A sweet babbler, a wicked sense of humour and an experienced looter of PB cupboards, don't you agree?
s,okay sprite ,i have the next 3 days off so i can power nap later if needed;)))
Trif, yes! LOL I thought I was the only crazy one. How great!
good morning everyone...
that is nice, crossy, just relax then and let us enjoy your company.
oh, sprite, you and I really ARE kindred spirits, aren't we? I am reminded of a quote I read once: "Friendship is born in that moment when someone says "you too? I thought I was the only one!'"
morning donnab
i got one for you trif, and i believe this happens only to cronic babblers.have you ever finished a grid, been cluing a bit and find yourself still hunting for words even though you know you are done?
howdy donna
yes crossy! and I also continue to look for wo4s from letters I have greyed....
I feel we are, Trif. Would LOVE to have you join us in that old people house we are gonna live in :D
i am more and more convinced it's where I belong, sprite! I will bring the scones.
crossy, absolutely! I really type them in too. While I already have finished. Oh god this is good, I am not as crazy as I thought :D
I actually just finished reading a book where a lot of the scenes happened in a coffee shop named "a woman sconed"
no,it is all part of the condition lol
see? Scones. You will be an addition we cannot do without. We don't have scones here.
lol, great name
i must admit, I am famous for my scones.....
I can bring some date scones I just made. Hello all
hello lynxxx!
howdy lynxx
life knows no pudding like that of a woman sconed.
hi lyn :) xxx
now I am dr***ing.
Your sleeping is no better Cross? are you still doing the machine and the di**?
40 left, 5 x 7 and the 8 among them.
ooh TY Sprite
i must admit i have been lax with the machine past week or so:(
yvw lyn :)
must be tough to have that machine every night and the di4 every day. But you are worth it, cross, don't forget.
okay. i have to admit defeat. cannot budge the lower right corner e. help please?
Sprite the 8 is EF
all one can do is try;)
crossy, get some essence of bacon, and put a drop in the water for the breathing machine. you will dream of bacon, and suck in that air
lol
EF 8 from that bottom E try the EF 7 first
thanks diz, hunting now :)
actually both come from bottom E
got them right away. Is that arabic?
I hav e a neighbor who sleeps as little as I do; I think she sits in her window and waits for my kitchen light to go on, because whenever i go in to make my cuppa, she comes over to chat.
Oh, and your PB goodies are safe from me -- I don't snack.
arabic...shrugs shou;ders...dunno...lol
nope, turkish
got it! thanks diz!
aw that is great, Christine, about the neighbour I mean. And you don't have to snack, you can loot the cupboards for us.
thats nbt, nbs for me!
wow wtg Trif.
fairy nuff isn't valid.
A year ago, I decided to give up sugar, so I also stopped eating desserts, candies all those goodies. Don't even miss them, now.
wow, christine, that is really good to hear. I have to admit, I have been thinking of trying to do the same, as I feel I crave it more than ever these days
am kind of doing that too now. Stopped snacking. But I have some days I cannot keep it up yet.
ok it is shameless plug time, but i promised i would do this once a day and this is a good chance to hit up the euros..lol....
(praise the L4, dentist is a phantom)
do not forget to join me and many other babblers in our folding at home group.become an active participant in the hunt for cancer cures! our babble team number is 173981 just Google folding at home from Stanford U for the download client the best way i can describe folding at home is the professors at stanford U have created a way to harness our spare and unused computer bandwidth cycles and put them all together to work as a single unit to "fold" human proteins and try and map the changes in cancerous and non cancerous "folds" in this way we can better understand it and eventually alter it before cancer evolves.the web site at folding at home will explain it better than i can:)
I really don't understand the folding at home. Do I have to keep my computer running day and night for that?
thanks for posting that crossy. I have no clue what it means, but I will check out the si4
crosshair, does it work from Australia as well??
no sprite, you do not,you current protien will resume the next time you start the program up
it does diz
okies thanx
so the computer use is supposed to mimick cancer growth??
I should be getting my sunday school lesson ready, but you guys are too entertaining
for example i am working on a protien that has 250 units in it,since this is a slow computer it has taken me 3 days to "fold " this one
ya want blinding with science sprite? lol
*pours Trif another cuppa and dr4s her into another chat*
all I want is to understand, lol.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding_a t_home
there u go sprite check that out
it is nice to actually be working on a cure, instead of just tossing money at collection groups
just googled and had a quick read, will definately going back into it for more info....thanx crosshair
np and ty diz
ok now I understand better. Is it safe, crossy? And how does one join?
if i can get 1 babbler a day to join,i will soon reach my taget of 100 babblers on our team
Thanks crosshair, i will definitely be following this one up. On the subject of helping, does anyone support Kiva?
Sara, whats Kiva
it is very safe sprite, just google folding at home and and you will be sents to the Stanford U folding at home site.there you can download the client suitable to your computer.then all you do is imput you babble name and our team number that is in my profile
I do sara....I gave my mom a card for mothers day that said I had taken out a microloan in her name, and when that loan was repaid I rolled it over, and we have done so several times since.
and i would not even suggest it in here if it were not safe;)
My mom is an avid knitter, so we usually choose women who are working with textiles (seamstresses, knitters, etc) for our recipients
maybe if you would add this info to your profile (about the how to join and the URL, more babblers would do it? You got me, btw, am going to join.
I am joining too. we have an extra computer downstairs that sits idle...MUCH better to have it happily folding all day
it is all in my profile, but i shall add the url as well
yes trif! a idle computer is perfect for this
An organisation that funds, at $25 per donation, a person or organisation trying to better their lives. Usually in a 3rd world country. Better to check Kiva online than for me to go on in detail. I started with a $25 Christmas present from my elder daughter Jessica. Jessica now has over 100 accounts purely by way of redistributing repayments to previous loans.
hang on -- stop the presses. was just looking in your profile, and saw photo of a little girl...since when do you have a daughter too? I only knew about the teenage boy at home...!
can some explain in dumb terms how an idle computercan 'fold away'...plz
thanx for that Sara...xxx
Trifioso, fantastic, help me spread the Kiva word!!
will do sara. it's amazing how one donation can turn into so many future loans....
ok everyone the url is also now in my profile, just refresh a few times
crossy, should I pick the first or 2nd choice for windows XP?
will check that out as well, SaraY and Trif
the first one sprite
thanks crossy
and trif, those are not my kids, flickr has put those in there from someone calling themselves crosshare and i am crosshair..gues we confuzzled them
oh, okay! I was totally confuzzled myself there for a minute!
I'm definitely computer-illiterate (heck, I'm still trying to work-out retractab;e ballpoint pens) so how do we find a cure for cancer, when our computer is 'tuned' to babble?
sprite, btw, have you read the 19th wife?
yes diz, what you are doing is donating bandwidth that gets collected and used with all the other idle bandwidth from other donators and the actual folding is done at stanford, but you get to see the action on your rig,and if by some lucky chance our team unlocks a key protien,we can actually get it named after us;0
"and the nobel prize in science this year goes to....Babble!"
and my fellow scentists i am proud to show you the "babble key protein!!"
no Trif, will write that down!
dr god would beam with pride!
trifioso, is 19th wife the one with woman sconed?
crossy, sorry to bother you again. I have run the installer, what now?
actually, yes, christine, tho I had already forgotten that
once you have downloaded it,just open it and it will guide you through the set up where you input your babble name and team number
once that is done the folding icon will appear in the botton right of yer task bar
Crosshair, I will also need you to walk me through this. I'm going to start it now. Back soon.
i also pin it to my start menu,so i do not have to hunt for it each time i turn on my puter
heres something fun -- I took my mom to see tertiares game last night (she is a cheerleader). it was FREEZING, so we only stayed for three quarters, and then headed home. as we approached the parking lot, we saw a truck with the lights on -- and the lights were flashing. we approached the truck and discovered the source: in the drivers seat was a HUGE boxer dog, wearing a ladies' pink winter jackets (complete with fur lined hood) pushing all the buttons on the dash with her paws. We about peed our pants laughing!
and everyone, unless you have a computer that is over 2 gig or less that 2 years old,do not use the display option unless you have nothing else running
you just right click the icon and go to status to check up on team or individual totals and that is it!
lol trif! that is funny!
lol Trif, priceless!
we did feel a bit sorry for the owner - hope that battery is still good by the end of the game
ok crossy, I should be in your team now.
besides, the actual real time display of protien unfolding is quite boring lol
YAA FOR SPRITE!!!!
welcome to the club!
thanks, lol. Glad to contribute.
do you think it works on macs too? I could have primo run it whilst he is at school
if you go to statistics sprite, you will see that our very own jmc has 3 computers running the program
it does trif
yes, there is a client for Mac too
just checked it, lol... got friends that might want to join
excellent. won't wake him up now, but will have him add client later today
thanks so much for getting the word out, crossy.
but if it is a very low power laptop,i would only run it when you are doing nothing else
np triff i thank you all for letting me ramble on about it
you can all thank me by passing it along to family and other babblers
i am the editor of our church newsletter, and methinks I will write an article about folding, so perhaps others in our fold (GET IT???) can use their computers as well
Well, I just read the wikipedia thingie, and understood about three words. I'm looking for a phrase printed in ble that I click on?
indeed triff!
*blue
morning all
great plan, Trif
trif look in my profile,i have a boiled down version of what it des
....in our fold.....he he he ....sometimes I just kill me
christine i mean
and me, Trif
Morning, m9f91 -- you got me hooked on Connie Willis.
you are a riot triff lol
LOL. she's fun reading
howdy m9,was so busy venting my speen,i did not see you right away lol
and easily amused, so that's a good combo
I got an Agatha Christie for 50 cents..that's what I'm reading now.
just got here cross...what's the vent?
hi m9 :D I lurf Christie. Good price!
see folding at home info in the bottom of my profile m9
ah...read your profile.
then load the client;))
Started Doomsday Book, just before the flip.
I've heard of that.
a couple years ago.
I've read Doomsday! fun.
Load the client - that's 173981?
is doomsday one of those hunger games books?
for advice on what to read and stuff like that, I used to use little pieces of paper. Then I got wise and wrote everything in a notebook. So... where the heck I left that notebook?
no,the client is at the url in my profile, that number is our team number .you use that when configuring the program
It's about timetravel, which I thought I didn't read, but ...
I have the cutest little notebook I write them in, sprite....hold on....
I'm over 1/2way and have nbs.. stats for upper corner e please for nbt?
here's a pic of it...http://www.amazon.com/Books-Check -Out-Imagineering-Company/dp/081182986 3
its our favorite duck, mp
m9
thanks trif! can I say "doh!"
nbt.
"quack!"
wow Trif, that is cool. I use a very normal one. But cannot find it right now. Your 19th wife and the Connie Willis name are on a slip of paper now...
everone, check this out .it is a great little program to help you choose your next book http://bookseer.com/
there is a great little series of books called something like "a year in the merde" that I found incredibly entertaining
that's a cute notebook.... most kids now won't get it.LOL
thanks crossy!
geezzz m9 did you ask an actual babble grid related question?? Tsk.
there is a grid?
crossy, LOVE that site! thanks for the rec
very cute crossy
it is very handy and i love it also triff
fun, crossy, thanks
np:)
M9, I work as a clinician for student with receptive and expressive language issues, esp with regards to reading, and we have found there are a whole load of things children today cannot visualize at ALL - records and record players, rotary phones, telegraphs, busy signals, tv antennas, etc.
you will never be stuck for a good read again;)
the other clinicians and I add to the list all the time.
lol I just tried and got a list of books I already read!
Been concentrating on the grid so missed quite a bit of chatterbox - just a reminder about Kiva as the more supporters the better for the world and people/groups trying to make a difference to their own lives and their country's independence on aid.
same as the generation before triff.can you or i recognize a walking beam steam engine for a paddle wheel steam boat?
what language do you read most books in sprite? if you don't mind me asking
but they text really fast and have girl/boyfriend at 7 or so..... right?
I told my kids when they kept repeating themselves: Your needle is stuck. They had to be explained, lol.
mostly english, Trif.
actually m9, most of the kids I work with would not text, no, sadly.
it's a great day for us when they get confident enough with their word skills to TRY texting! isn't that funny!?
ah....
heartbreaking actually.
so basically I work to create little texting monsters....lol
no, not funny, sad. But great they get help from people like you.
no wonder though.. the way reading is presented... I helped my next door neighbor girl with her "reading homework" a couple years ago and wanted to tear my hair out.
i had a sad revelation yesterday,my kid is getting better at comuters and electronic than i am..i imagine i shall be put out to pasture with those type of chores in short order;("
I love seeing how they blossom and grow....sadly, I am not sure what is going to become of that beloved job of mine. I adore it (most days) and I think I could say I am really good at it, but I don't get many hours due to the low client load this year, and at the payrate I am at....I just can't keep us afloat. will have to get something else soon. hopefully in addition to, not instead of
triff ,it is good work you do indeed,my biggest debt of gratitude is to the unknown and unsug teacher who helped me to read
unsung
Will keep my fingers crossed for you, Trif.
I was her babysitter for a while.. so after that I would just kind of do the homework for her (just get through it as fast as possible) and then read to her from good books with beautiful language.
man, I am going to be a yawning fool at church today
i may never remember her,but her work carries on forever in me;0
I taught my kids to read before school, and kept them at it. Read english with them before they got it at school too. Cannot leave that to schools, nowadays. Reading should be fun, an adventure, a door to other worlds.
my church doesn't start until 1 pm
wow m9, that is the way to go
what time to you get out?
well... in January it will start at 9 am...
Trif, yawning yes, a fool no.
4 pm. We go for 3 hours.
why does it change to such an early time in january? I am thinking in the winter the extra time to arrive would be welcome?
two congregations share the building. So right now they go at 9
we switch every year.
oh, i see. how lovely that you share with another church!
same church. Just different set of us.LOL
our church has an education bldg with a huge lower room. a dance school rents it out....it's hilarious. If you are on a committee, you attend meetings whilst lady gaga, or some other pop star is blasting up through the floors
lol
Our Church haad a Korean congregation and a Phillipino congrgation. Occasionally we'd meet at some events, like the Church Bazaars and th children's Christmas program.
wow...
whoops just found the needle case...fishy today
ty triff
and finally fireflies. Not sure the grid was tough or it was just the great chog, lol. Nah I know. The grid was tough.
and pl
when traveling cross country we went to church and it just so happened to be a spanish speaking meeting!LOL
and don't forget to plural it
huzzah for sprite!!!!
did you all see my cutlery clock, btw?
good going.
do you speak spanish m9? gosh, I hope so, or that would be a loooooong time to sit
i did notice it sprite! charming
wouldn't mind that one in my kitchen, lol
no we don't! We didn't stay. Sacrament is the important thing. We had already planned on only staying for that.
excellent m9!
And that part I know so well that I understood it.
oh, God wouldn
wouldn't mind in the least!
got to be off, thanks all for the great time. You are exceptional people, all of you. *hugs*
what I'd really like sometime is to go to a deaf congregation meeting.
My friend was going to one for a while.
BIG hug, sprite! remember to save me a seat in your elder home
gn sprite.sleep tight
consider it reserved for you, Trif.
thank you dear one
crossy, do you have to check on the folding program now and then? what I mean is, if I set it up on an idle pc and leave it running, how often would I need to check it to see if it's finished, or does that happen?
It is a mystery to me how you all divide time between doing the grid and keeping in touch with each other - I feel I am failing at both! Maybe friendships are so 'set in stone' that they take precedence over filling in the word gaps.
saray, what i find is that entries in the grid come to me in spurts. I will find several wo4s, and then nothing for a bit. chogging freshens my eyes for looking back at the grid
triff,it will run unattended as long as you wish it to
hi Sara.. I just bounce back and forth.LOL
SaraY - I love your note about convict stock - I have a friend who tells people her gr.gr.grandma was sent to Australia because she was a "naughty girl".
Looking over what I wrote I am worried it may be taken the wrong way - friendships, and keeping in touch, must take precedence.
Crosshair, must the computer be in use to generate whatever the folding uses?
that is what i do also, chat up the ladies a bit, till my eyes can pick out more words in the grid;)
crossy, I made the link to the folding project my FB status. hopefully others will join there
it musy dem running and on it desktp christine
tyvm triff
damn typos
one of my english friends' brother got in a PILE of trouble on his way to Oz. At the passport check he was asked if he had a criminal record, and he answered "Didn't know I still needed one!" and the officer was NOT amused. but I was!
it can be in idle or power save mode, but it must be on
Trifioso - that's priceless
want some real fun triff? when he says"do you have anything to declare?" just say "other than that kilo of coke, not really" lol
Christine, that was so true - one of my ancestors was sentenced to death in East Sussex, England, for highway robbery and sheep-stealing and had his sentence commuted to transportation to Tasmania for life.
on my way into ireland, the guy asked if I had any electronics with me, and I answered yes, I had an electric toothbrush, and he said "ooh, very posh!" in a way that made me lol for about 10 minutes
Maybe the last question (but probably not) the bloomin' thing asked if I want to open or save the file; what do I answer --- I truly am computer-illiterate.
open it
As my Governator says I shall returrrrn.
then it will walk you tru the set up,just use your babble name and the babble team number in my profile
m9f9l - I agree it is the best way or else one (reminds me of QEII) could get bogged down.
you think that is bad sara? my ancestor got a aussie town named after him..a dubious honor at the time seein what it was used for
i still think i should get discounts when i visitA;)
I like it that you have photography as your first interest;-)
poor little me...left out... alas, no criminals of note....
i think it was because he got caught "educating" the young princess at the time lol
crosshair - reveal all, who was your ancestor and what is the town - I am intrigued? Ancestors, good or bad depending on the mood of their day, are worthy.
quite the scandal,he was 54,she was 19 lol
lol i was waiting for that sara....
Go for it!!!!!
Sydney?
the name that has been passed to me and is on my passport is Melbourne
Lord Melbourne?
yes mam
uh oh.. hope it's not the town of fu******
do you know there is a st. paul's university in melbourne? seems like you should at least get to go there for free!
Tell all - I would love to hear it.
i sould at least get 10% off on motel rooms lol
You can stay with me for free!!
jis lordship was escorting princess vic here and there to such an extent that members of the parliment took to calling her mrs melbourne lol
the year after he passed of gout of all things lol
in other words,he died of excess lol
lol,so you all know the skeleton in my closet ;)
kept the ladies of the upper crust buzzing for weeks in london
ah but crossy.. she said he was like a father to her! (been googling)
lol
Crosshair - I opened the file, as you said, but it did nothing after that, just posted a picture in the upper lefy corner of the screen. Didn't ask me for my name, or your number. Hope it went through.
his THIRD sex scandal! Third time's the charm I guess...
lol, alas she was too much for ole great, great, great grandad
might be one more great in there, not sure
i hope so as well christine, but if you did not get a chance to imput the team number,i think not
triff got it set up op,perhaps she can help you better than my insomniac fumbling and stumbling
Gout is very painfiul, according to a friend. I am sure there are manyxxx skeletons in any closet associated with Oz. Hence a wonderful human experience surpassed by anywhere in the world (spoken by a true Ozzie!). Please excuse any questionable exuberance associated with a bout of sad news and too much wine!
gout always makes me think of the movie "Captain Blood"
lol sara,we love the aussies
And we love anyone from Canada xxx
:) i also was born in the U.K but have called canada my home since 1966
Good Morning all. I declare the bottom e the nasty little tile of this grid. Cross, what's for breakfast? : )
hi molly
light brekkie today.english muffies with gooseberry jam,a bowl of fresh fruit and some O.J
crosshair, how long would it take me to get there and share your breakfast?
14 hours or so by plane lol
morning all how many words today please
but i will keep it ready for you
How about brekkie the next day?
your on
:)
162 words
her on what?
heh heh heh
What a challenge - I will let you know!
thanks
Sara... is there a place to look at your photography?
ahh tu /24 a word we do not see often in the grid=a moss lichen type ground covering that is seen mainly in the far north
is that why the land is called that??
I have been there in northern manitoba
indeed m9
also because underneath that is permafrost
I shall call this the 'W Grid'.
and the mosquitos, just boil out of the stuff in summer
huh.. I'm not finding that def.. just that it's a biome..

Good morning Esprit.

Good morning Esprit and Patxxx

gm m9
and good day to you as well patxx
have a good lesson trif
Hi.
howdy herin
hello.
Can I ask a parent question re 6 year old girl
i only have a son,but go for it
I woke up in middle of night.. but now I really must get back to bed! 32 left...will find "tomorrow"
what's the ?
shoot.
it's too young to have a boyfriend.
Does anyone think that make up for a 6 year old is inappropriate or am I reading it wrong or being old fashioned
like every day?
it is not appropriate
or goofing around?
You are 100% correct. It's very inappropriate. Any time, unless it is for dress up play.
Ugh, hate makeup & nail polish for littl'uns. Making them grow up too soon.
why in the hell would a 6 year old need make-up?
inappropriate
I mean am I reading it as make up like proper adult stuff or make up like for goofing about or the lip balm stuff which is cute
oh.. this is something you're reading?
goofing around is fine, but wearing it as adults wear it is not
I had a make up kit when I was little. It was muck about make up. Dress up stuff. I used to create horrific bruises and show my mum
unless you are Suri Cruise then you must need it
Friends kid
if your talking about that kiddie pagent show..i do not approve of it
You can buy Kiddies make-up sets, like kiddies dress-up sets.
crossy.. they don't need makeup... but if they see the women in their lives using it.. of course they want to play.
Snap Esprit (sad thing is I read that article)
Kiddie pageant shows give me the creeps.
that show is a nightmare
child play with it is fine m9,but i do not think that is what herin means
The movie Little Miss Sunshine said it all..........
Toddler & Tiaras is horrifying
thats the crap i was talking about esprit
according to 6:14, apparently Herin doesn't know if that's what she means either!LOL
lol
there's a store called Toddler and Tiaras?
I am not sure what I read. I am a bit confused. Sometimes it is hard when there is a one way conversation.
Has anybody seen Little Miss Sunshine?
There is a show called Toddlers & Tiaras. And yes, it's horrifying.
I haven't seen Toddlers in Tiaras. I remember a girl in my primary school who did or had a sister that was in the natural pagents. Kid was cute and kids were doing simple kid things
a program called that herin, the moms and dads pimp their 5-8 year old kids to win a trophy or some damned thing
Soodle, I haven't seen Little Miss Sunshine, but I've heard about it.
Watch it if you get a chance. It is the blackest of comedy. I loved it!
I saw bits of it on Entertainment tonight
Anything that makes fun of kiddie pageants is okay with me.
sorry makes crossy angry.anyone who exploits their young children like that bugs me
like kate plus 8 and her props...err i mean children....
I agree Cross, it's like encouraging pedophiles. And yes...Kate...blech
Do you remember the little girl Jon-Benet Ramsey? Each time I would see a little 5yearold (?) strutting like that, it would make my skin craw.
They have just re-opened the Jon Benet Ramsey murder investigation.
again Molly?
Yep, they are being cagey as to why.
Have you seen that gawd awful age progression photos used in pagents?
ok.. 26.. I'm going to find ONE more word....
mm,brb, gotta take a breath..ill put some bacon on to cool and i shall be right as a trivit once again...brb
bacony goodness
must have LOVED Lady GaGa's meat dress then
I annoyed a friend the other day that was going on about PETA with the comment of tasty tasty meat
found a group. 22 left. good night and *poof*
Goodnight, sleep well.
there we go,bacon is in da pan and my serenity has returned;)
I knew muffins and jam would not be the end of your Sunday breakfast fare.
Cross is doing the Hobbit Second Breakfast thing. Go Cross!
the price of bacon went way up here since I bought it last, sad to say. :(
I need second dinner
a few crispy rashers of maple kissed goodness, and of course i must slide a egg or 2 on the plate to keep it company...
At our place, Saturday is bacon day and Sunday is sausage day. Two patties of Bob Evans Sage are in the pan for my son.

How could that happen? Not even today's list.
Good lord, I haven't had bacon in more than ten years, I think I deserve some.
I see there are gremlins in the chat log.
At least that was yesterdays
Could you try and do it again, Christine, with today's list.LOL
10 years!!!
No, it's magic and can't be repeated -- maybe tomorrow
Man I feel like pizza and my internet just went to it
Ten years, Crosshair, since I cooked.
Pity. If you could have managed it, I might get some housework done!
interesting idea
do you not love it when you make a mistake typing a word in and the grid takes it anyways? :)))
Yes. ANd now I want a bacon sarni.
just happened to me - a misspelled word, I thought
bacon and soft fried egg sammich.
At mums house I had bacon overload. It was so Dad could enjoy
You're a good girl to eat bacon to help your Dad.
mmm..whole place smells like hickory and maple...mmmm
Well my Dad isn't allowed it normally as he has a heart issue. But it was his 70th birthday and my visiting so we took advantage of it
once i hit 70,i am going to take up everything that the dr is cutting me off of now! lol
That and my Dad has not long been out of hospital
Well, I think it was good that he had a special treat. And having you visit was even better for him, I bet.
We had fun. It is hard for us to go to them as they are interstate
Then it was even better for him, that you were there to celebrate with him.
As I said we had fun
This grid is being a pain
i have hit my first wall at 58;((
85 and slowing down
ahh,now the devilish lil 4 letter babblets are coming out of hiding for me:)

Care my friends little baby is named Reilly :D just like your last name
i think molly did a better clue earlier
I always wanted to name one of my children Reilly, but when I married someone named Reilly that squashed that idea!
espritd did a nice clue for it @ 7.18
It is a little Girl
yes she did..at 7:08
I agree Lynxx, I liked the shoe clue.
Caree. There is a radio jock here that named her kid Lewis and his last name Lewis

can you clue the en6, peri
en and small piece of land in the middle of an ocean
did you get it Annie?
peri, thank you. yes I did but had to get a list ready for bobby. I cant believe it but I fell yesterday on my tailbone and I cant get around easily. It hurts.
oh annie, sorry to hear that. Have you been icing it?
Will that help? Or is it heat? I think I bruised the bone.
ice always. you can alternate with heat, but ice really will help. do you have a bag of frozen peas? that is a good way to do it
also ibuprofen, advil, unless you have a sensitivity to it. anti inflammatory
Yes, I do..thanks. I took two Aleves when I woke up. could barely get out of bed. first I had the cold of the century and now this..I feel like a complainer.
you are definitely not a complainer annie!
fifteen minutes of the frozen peas!
dorens, will do that now. bbs. and thank you for the kind wo5
also, annie, why not email scrabbler and check with her, if she doesn't come on soon? You know she would want to help
dorens, I didnt have peas but I have an ice pack so I wrapped that in a towel and am now babbling with the pack behind me. It is cold! I might bother scrabbs with this later or even redturtlehead
Good morning all
mornin bob
hi mr bob
good annie. and don't forget anti inflammatories every four hours.
will do dorens and thanks
going to google Aleve
Good morning/afternoon all. Annie, I've just read back - my sympathy!
gm
Good morning, kje.
how is GB, Haz? keepig them all in line?
It's a hard job, keeping a whole nation in line but I do my best.
di 5/12 please i cant find it
someone must, haz... we could use you here
I'd always ready for a challenge, unless it involves sewing.
jbc - di5/`12 is a plural.
only stitching some people's mouths shut....
Could I use superglue instead?
is annie still here?
superglue is better! i bet it is toxic
thanks haz i must be blind today
I'm hoping she'll come back soon. It looks like she could use some expert advice from you.
morning, folks (she's got an email address in her profile, kje)
No problem, jpc.
Hello, welki.
hi welk
Annie! First the cold from hell and now your tailbone? Have you tried putting the heating pad on it?
no heat
ad i thik she is gone ow anyway
my n sticks - just fill them in as needed
are those bottom corner e's fish?
No, they're two of the longer words which I've never seen before.
k
don't know ... i sped through the first 120 like a demon and am now plodding through wo** mud
Why no heat?
b/c you do not put hit on an acute injury of that sort - worsens inflammation - you use ice
Morning/Afternoon all
Good afternoon, FM.
hi FM
I thought it was ice the first 24 hours and heat after that.
Hello Haz! Guess what ... tenrec was the answer to one of the questions on QI the other night!
did you win a bunch of money, FM?
Honestly? Did any of them get it?
Hey kje :) and Molly and welki et al I wish kje, but got a great sense of satisfaction. No Haz, none of them *smug*
smugness is nice too, FM
I'm sure that smug glow lasted for a while. All we need now is a round on needlecases and volcanos and we're set.
well there is a needlecase in the grid if that counts?
damn, you made me look for the volcano (already had the cases)
..and hairy nosed dolphins
I know, it was like finding an old friend when I saw it. The word, I mean, I don't want to meet up with a real one any time soon.
and LoriP was in the chat for a while yesterday lunchtime Haz, was lovely to see her.
ad horned whales
Oh good, she's been away too long.
How was the surprise b'day party?
It was good - she thought she was going out for a meal, instead 40+ arrived and took over her house (bearing food).
I hope someone got a picof her face at the moment of invasion.
I'm not sure. But lots of pics of her blowing out her birthday candles.
and I am sure a great time was had by all :)
It was fun, relaxed and informal.
well this is an interesting grid greyed the s and the r whilst working backwards - that rarely happens.
There's quite a mixed bag of words in the mix.
woo! burst of brain energy .. 18 left :)
wtg welki
51 here
Im about half way but enjoying the fun of the first run through.
hmmmm. - still working on that low E - any hint?
ef7/56 and its plural
lol - well, I had figured ef7
Sherlock Holmes lives on in kje.
hmmmm - ok
ef7/56 - e, double helping of a consonant joins up with the opposite of beginning and finishes with a vowel.
ty haz
aha - ends in a very expensive bag
what the heck is that - must look up
You're welcome.
hehe .. i just did. little reason for me to look it up, i've already forgotten it *lol*
Ahh the light dawns, thanks Haz Im not on the e's yet but I will take the clue and be grateful :)
turkish male bigwig
When you're wanting to be polite to a Turkish aristocrat, this is the term you use. Vital stuff for globetrotters.
of course, one mustn't offend the ef7
only context in which i could use it would be, "Hey!! Ef*****! Look! You've got a bite!"
Absolutely not. Otherwise... insert noise and cutting motion of finger against throat.
it is both lucky and disturbing to make up words and then they are accepted
like wa 6/7 :)
yep - LOL - that is EXACTLY what I just did
LOL ... must be sharing a wavelength this morning *adjusts antenna*
ears
*tries to t4 into the same frequency*
1 left
you don't want to pick up too much from here welkie... it is scary in there
*nods head*
good mornings kids
Morning ruru and Scrabs.

hi scrab, how is call? lots of runny noses?

Hello, Scrabbler and ruru.

gm FM and haz
Stomachaches, puking, diarrhea, snotty noses, questions about dosages....nothing emergent.

But the last 3 nights have been without interruptions. I'll be done at 8 am tomnorrow.
that is pretty good, scrab! i would think that is rare in peds
We use an RN triage service from 9pm-8am.
25 left - I must list and get back to studying
man, I wish they would let us do that - HUGE difference
Yes, sleep is crucial.
__ ___
oops
Ruru is speechless?
Never.
It
apparently we were not giving him sufficient attention
they are so difficult at this age
He doesn't always make sense but he's never speechless.
Do you want a snack, Ruru?
But if I sometimes make sense..that counts for something doesn't it?

SCRAB!!!
(make your next comments from the PB scrabs...lol)
Damn, that's where my wo5 went!!
And Scrabbler tries for 'Most helpful babbler of the day' award.
It's Sunday, so I being charitable.
Blame it on the bunnies (they are getting very good at the keyboard)
she's actually vying for best cluer today haz
Nothing cryptic about her clues...
exactly
straightforward, honest, direct, and clear as day
Babble Cluing 101
I think Haz is one of the professors
ruru is keeping in with both sides..
Beats 'hockey sticks, cross letter, humps and chairs' any day ;)
:) a libra.. I can't help myself
We haven't had so much of the hockey sticks and chair letters lately.
I want to take a class " How to stop cluing for the Clue challenged"
2nd vowel + 12th ltr of alphabet...
There has been a smattering Haz, you just missed it I think.
I hate the RE + le4 clues
dos
uno
nada
Afternoon all - does anyone have a clue for the last wa please
Well done, ruru!
1
ru is lying
he is just mocking... : P
wa 7 not peace + the end of a huge stone buiding in europe
Kazzer if you have the wa6/30 before it, insert a consonant just before the end (last letters of the pricky Scots plant/emblem)
lol.. (mock mock mock)
*prickly
Uh, oh, nephew is visiting girlfriend + texted--has migraine. kje--is Imitrex the only generic triptan? I have to call in an Rx.
nothing worse than pricky Scots
no I'd get it for you scrabs
ot sure which have gone geeric... but it is cheapest - use it
add n's
NADA!
sumatriptan succinate
Well done, kje?
What's wrong with my fingers? Why won't they type ! instead of ?
well enough haz - LOL
Is there anybody here I can blame? (looking steadily at FM)
Nephew wants me to call in Rx for Lortab. I cannot do that.
well, I wondered about that question mark - but it made me laugh so thanks
see below scrabs that is the generic immetrex I take
I knew as soon as I hit the ? that I had meant!, but too late.
*ignores Haz's steely gaze and ducks under the desk*
well, technically you should be able to... doesn't require a narc script
but I do not like doing that for relatives unless you are keeping a chart on him - that kind of stuff can get audited
I want a cheap triptan for him. Ethically I am not comfortable calling in Rx for a narcotic.
I think Exclamation points are getting a complex that ? are used more often
Your subconcious was obviously trying to save you from using !! Haz
It's ok, Haz. We'll let this one error go.
imitrex (sumatriptan is generic) is cheap - call that in... if he is in pain he will take it
otherwise, tell him to take 800 of ibuprofen
howdy all!
there are nasals too that work more quickly scrabs
Hi jbp
Hello, jbp.
brb
must go - hagd all
if you're handing out Lortab, my pharmacy # is....
;-)
would love a clue for the top corner E
kje, I forgot to mention--he is allergic to ASA so cannot take NSAIDs
ei4/5 - heading towards being the downy duck.
Tylenol doesn't help for his migraines
thanks, Haz!
now I can stop trying to type etui!
You're welcome.
etui
crap
I typed etui and it worked!
and don't forget the pl too :)
More obvious clues--we have a special today!
i thought I did too, and it didn't but I did just now and it did... i'm shuffling off the the PB
Scrabbler is the ultimate generous babbler today.
i think i need some breakfast....
It's the Lord's Day so I am doing unto others what I want others to do for me.
and that is Scrabsoff to the PB with another free clue!
hahaha
I wish someone would free clue w5 that I don't already ahve though.
Think I will go an put the kettle on, perhaps fresh eyes will help ... back in 5.
Im back with my bruised tailbone...is scrabbs still here?
She's sitting in the PB, in utter disgrace.
Yep--was paged, called a mother, then my mother called, and my nephew is texting me
down to the last 10 words and struggling!
No disgrace being experienced here. I feel charitable.
Scrabbs, I fell yesterday and I think I bruised my tailbone...hurts like he**..how often can I take Aleve?
Poor Annie - hopefully Scrabbler will be able to give you some good advice. (Bear in mind that she thinks she's engaged to George Clooney so don't take everything she says as gospel)
would you charitably (or otherwise) clue the en6,18 please?
Hi, Hazel.. I will allow Scrabbs to live with her illusion.
en6/18 - en plus a small part of land in the sea.
Scrabbs is busy today...her nephew is suffering with a migraine..I am annoying her with my coccyx. What next?
There - I saved Scrabbler from herself.
but of course!!! Thank you!
You're welcome, Erda.
Annie--ice it, sit on a cushion, aleve = 440 mg every 8 hrs
Thank you so much, dear Scrabbs. ( I am humoring Haz..let her think that GC is hers alone)
* yawn * morning all...
Good morning, Pini.
hi pini, rise and shine
george is busy with darfur
You're very diplomatic with Scrabbler, Annie. Letting her think that you believe her. You should give lessons.
The stress was too much for poor George..He escaped to Darfur. He will do some good for that poor country.
Thank god he isn't a Doctor on TV anymore and Haz can stop checking herself into every ER Room in America
...looking for him...
Every ER in the US had her picture up on the wall as a warning.
George is sleeping in a grass + stick hut.
If I wanted to Escape something Darfur sure wouldn't be one of my first choices
with indoor plumbing?
Hi new entrants!
I still don't understand why you wouldn't lend me your nun's costume, Annie. I think it would have helped.
* light's too bright yet - going back to sleep *
LOL haz
Nobody would turn away an ill nun.
put on sunglasses Pini
Haz, My nun's costume is at the ready when I have to hover over Luc again. Wonder what he is up to?
I am sure George has a nun outfit somewhere
Good question, Annie. Did any of the miners in Chile have a fedora with them?
for the moment I could not think of Luc's babble name? Montreal it is
I dont know about the fedoras but they had mistresses waiting for them as they emerged into the upper wo5 again.
Montreal was not among them
Annie--you will be sore for a long time. Nothing is done if broken, unless pain is persistent.
I know he still babbles, just haven't been around lately for the occasional (very occasional) times when he emerges to chat briefly. He was fun.
Scrabbs, how long is long? I hope this is not a stupid question.
A few wks or several, but next few days will be the worst
Scrabbs, thanks so much. I was afraid it was broken.
Not stupid question. I usually give worst case prognosis so that when a person is better sooner they are pleased.
Smart, you are.
I was thinking of Babbler Montreal last wk. I am reading a mystery series set in Montreal. The Louise Penny books.
Fireworks!! Have a good day/night everyone. xx
Well done, donna!
Monty is on line now I think
What would flush him out?
Yay Donna!
If we all chant his name very loudly?
Luc, Luc, Luc!
MONTY MONTY MONTY
Phew, halfway without too much brain effort.
Monty? MOnty? Mont?
Oh MONTREAL! Where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuu?
Bon jour, bon jour, bon jour!
Hi NB
Maybe we should have synchronised our names. He may have an identity crisis.
hi, Scrabbs :)
on the phone
I am not finding this grid too easy. 95 to go.
Bottom right corner E help, please?
back again, after long phone call with Mother. I have hit the wall with 45 to go.
I'm finding it better than the grids we had over the past two days...found those quite soul-crushing ;)
The first half went down easy, the second half, not so much...
My mother has called twice so far and it is not quite noon.
ef7 and ef8, Scrabbler.
oh dear Scrabs!
Aint love grand?
e plus a double helping of a consonant - add not the beginning and finish off with a vowel. Plural for the ef8.
NB, my sister says hello. She has 3 sons and middle one is also 20. She wants to be another Mom for you.
Scrabbler, the long ones off the bottom e's are Turkish honorific and its plural. Though the plural is wrong--it ends in an s and it should end in ler, in Turkish.
Very ODD word!
TY for definition + Turkish lesson, Jan. I have never seen that word before.
aww, Scrabbs! nice of her, please send my greetings back! Just gained another 'mummy' in my cousin Chin-Mae...just got him on yahoo...having great fun teaching him bad english slang.
Those e words are the first Turkish ones I've ever seen in the grids. I always look for sema, the word for the Whirling Dervish fance. Enable doens
Doesn't take it, that is. (My four year old computer has a touchy enter key!)
Oh, 2 hot air balloons have just sailed past - what a wonderful sight!
Could you see the people aboard?
Here's a funny one--it takes the singular of dr/5, but I've only ever used it in the plural. I don't even know what a singular one would be!!
Just about
They were flying quite low
You are loved, NB.
So neat, FM. In the summer there is a hot air balloon company that flies over my home out here in the country.
A farmer once told how a hot air balloon landed in his field and his mother got slightly agitated, wondering if she needed to serve them tea.
It is a great sight isn't it Scrabs. LOL Haz.
One balloon was low enough for me to speak with rey Poupon?"
thank you :) whoops, being skyped!
You can hear the balloon approaching, the whoosh of the flames.
Love to watch them but you would never get me up in one.
I'm with you, FM, I'd stay on the ground to mind the coats.
Someone clued a wa7, I think, starting with battle wo4
That didn't come out below--a man in the balloon asked me, "Do you have any Grey Poupon?"
I always felt the same way, FMitch, being terrified of heights, but I was surprised that it wasn't scary the one time I did it.
impressed, jan!
wa7 - begin with plural battle, add last letters of fortified stone buildings (or prickLY Scots plant/emblem)
good morning, babblers - just getting started but spotted one of my favorite babblets here - et4
TY! Paged again. Must go calm down an anxious parent.
hi jbv
You're welcome, Scrabbler, see you again.
Bye Scrabs and Hi JBV.
OK I am going to list and put myself out of this blank mode.
Just listed only to discover that I had about six or seven plurals that I forgot to enter the singular of!
lol
BBS
Bye Scrabbler, I'm off myself and will leave the dr/5 of the puzzle for later.
Well, who knew if you took the e off the pl needlecase you end up with a New Zealand honey eating bird.
I have this nagging sense it means something in Dutch, too bad Sprite isn't about.
I thought everyone knew that.
Oh ha ha Haz :)
*innocent*
Just like everyone knows what tenrec means. :-)
*giggle*
Ah yes, we talk daily of the New Zealand honey eating bird. We rarely talk of anything else unless it is to wonder about the welfare of the dear tenrec.
These lies just pour out of me. I wonder how I'd do on a polygraph?
That conversation must crop up so often in Mr Haz's surgery.
Haz you do realise you have to take the walk of shame to the PB yet again?
Indeed. 'Never mind about my cow, have you any remedy for my New Zealand honey eating bird who has gone off honey?'
Anyway, must go to get some groceries for the younger daughter and deposit her back to Belfast.
wouldn't that give the bird hives?
See you tomorrow!

Hello...

How are you, Annie?

Ouch!
Ouch is right. How are you doing my de4?
I am okay, little down today...have friends with problems, have my own little problems...
I guess impotent is how I feel...
understandable about youre being down. sorry about your friends problems.
Hi Jellen. It's okay to feel powerless once in a while. Sooner or later, we get back in touch with our power.
Hi, Molly

Its not a bad grild
No Carlee, run and hide while you can. : )

wow three cups of coffee hasn't woken me up yet..
can't believe some of the easy ones I missed last night! -- must have been more tired than I thought!
I've got warm oatmeal, raisin, pecan cookies fresh out of the oven. Jellen gets extras because warm cookies always make you feel better.
.. yep there is nothing like the LIST to show us how blind we all are
Yum!
hmmmoatmeal cookies
brb...having computer issues...
i havent had good aotmeal cookies in forever as my kids hate them
Oh Carlee, take note. Make them for yourself. Make the dough, bake enough for you...then freeze the rest of the dough in small round balls. Then you can bake them for you, whenever you want.
i am making cake balls today...once my kids get back from boating with their father
then again, make them, and if they disappear faster than you are eating them you know you're not alone any longer...
alone (in your liking of oatmeal cookies)
en 6/18, please?
perhaps i will bake somet his week...on a cool day...cold rainy day...warm oatmeal cookies and a glass of milk
I am lurking until brunch time...oatmeal Sunday!

Past halfway, and time for a catnap...

whenever crossy talks about bacon I dr5
go carlee go!
and I vomit
LOL, carlee
and I prefer canadian bacon
or prosciutto
yeesh...any bacon <turns green in the gills>
I like canadian bacon too
carlee...anti swine or just averse?
and prosciutto
3 more for nbt
I prefer NO bacon! I'm with you, Carlee...
hello NB
okay guys I am on my way, bye
anti swine... or rather it is anti me...and the result if i ingest pork anything is intensive and accute ( as in cold sweats ) pain and cramping that lasts a good 4-8 hours ( simply frying an egg in bacon fat does this..so i have to be careful with anything even made from lard)
ooh, hi and bye, Annie!
4th column greyed! 19 to go!
{{{NANCY}}}
cover your ears carlee..i am back with the bacon!!! yaa
much like my sensitivity to cinnamon..not quite allergic as in with cigarette smoke, which constricts my throat and stops my breathing, but a strong sensitivity nonetheless
i have that reaction to strawberries
mm cinnamon dont hear too many alergic to that
I think I've always assumed I'm lactose intolerant, but I've never eaten dairy in my life, so no idea!
strawberries and cigarettes? love 'em both ;)
ooh is it bacon day crossy?
...and cinna is supposed to ai4 with digestion...so how am I supposed to digest food AND lose weight?
no eggs NB?
no potato salad? no ice cream?
no eggs? may as well bury me lol
I'm a vegan, Pav!
there..nbt's at 75
cannot live withour cheese, cheese, cheese
yaa for cheese!!!
i am not sure what i could nto live without...likely bread...
I couldn't live without tea. It wouldn't even be worth me trying..
coffee...i could nto survive without coffee
i concur with GE
and carlee :)
untill such time as the dr gives me no choice,i am not going to spend my life micro managing my food
my daily food groups are cheese, carbs, coffee
chocolate would fit in there nicely Leslie
I've never heard of a cinnamon allergy either. Oh well Pav, you'll have to pass on the oatmeal cookies. They are loaded with cinnamon.
you're right. the four c's easy to remember.
vegan....hmmm? no cookies? OMG! quick! let's travel across the pond, grab NB and bring him back "to the States" for unauthorized indoctrination into the ways of overweight (in general) society
i need the staples... but i am so "craving" driven in my eating and shopping..i canno abide with the spaghetti on monday, meatloaf on tuesday, soup and sandwich wednesday way of life
i have oatmeal every Sunday...nad pancakes occasionally when the kitchen is cleaned and ready for more messes, which it isn;t at the moment...
just no animal products. no meat, fish, dairy, poultry or eggs. and it doesn't make a single bit of difference to my life, apart from I feel glowingly healthy!
i have no idea what a meal will be on the next day...( unless i am planning a big meal with loads of prep..ie a curry night or turkey dinner etc ....it could at 5 pm be decided we are having roast beef with all the fixins including yorkshire puddings
So, just fruits and veggies NB?
of course, in order to grab NB, we'll have to schedule a vacation, plan the tours, etc, and arrange for him to pick us up and act as tour guide...and then we'll surprise him!
with masks !
good idea pav!
sounds like a plan pav
ok, how's thanksgiving week for ya? that's my next week long staycation...
so many yummie baked goods are made with eggs..poor nb;(
thanksgiving was last week pav :p
I believe there are egg-substitutes?
well I won't eat non-vegan but I'll be happy to conduct walking tours of London ;) 'course I do still get lost around here, but...
wasnt it crossy??/ ;o)
we are a bit sl4 on the events , we 'Mericans
indeed carlee
Lost IN london! stay tu4d
'poor nb' nothing, I don't miss it and it's the healthiest way to live! but I can't be too smug about it because my main food group is booze.
hmmm, booze? strawberry daqueries? lemon drops? oooh! Lynchburg lemonade!
i could give up meat...but....i'd have to have fish once in a while... i never miss meat... cheese...not a huge cheese eater...like it but...i rarely crave it... butter...oh man...i cannot live without butter...fresh chewy bread slathered in butter
popcorn drowned in butter...
Healthiest for the body and conscience, yes... and hiya! :o) Is the puzzle worth a start today, if one doesn't have all evening to complete it? ;o)
mushrooms fried in butter
then join me in the land of the damned carlee, because i could never give up the bread
Why would one give up bread?
just no frying that bacon near me crossy...move on down wind from me pls
oh! 1st and 3rd columns greyed!
I gave up bread for 3 years...then didn't lose weight...started eating it again and lost...
i couldnt give up bread
Butter is a saturated fat... those are the fats that clog the arteries in human beings (animal fats). :o(
and cereals...
hiya, Shivs! too right...
maybe so shivs..but i couldnt give it up entirely
Why would anyone give up bread and cereals?
i only buy it when it is on sale
Hiya, Nancy Boy!! :o)
then it is the margerine with its healty 300 or so chemicals lol
all in moderation...i dont have it every day...i only buy it maybe 4 times a year....
I love *frosted* mini wheats, and raisin bran...corn flakes
You could if you wanted to... we don't miss it. :o)
I use real butter...
We use a good vegetable margarine that doesn't contain a trace of dairy... satisfies that need. :o)
exactly cross....chems..or natural....i am trying to get in the habit of buying it more often...
and moving back to more natural foods instead of processed

That's why people have heart attacks and strokes... consuming animal fats.

How are you doing these days, Nancy Boy? Haven't seen you in a while? :o)
and last column greyed!..just w's left
i believe everything in moderation...its not like i am julia child and cooking everything in 1/2 a cup of butter...
ohh, great these days, thank you! very much enjoying being home - missed having the cats to cuddle :) How about you? I see you've come across my cousin!
Just using animal fats on a regular basis is enough to cause tjat... doubt anyone's doing what you suggest, are they? LOL I should hope not! :oÞ
Yes... you've been so busy lately you probably haven't seen much of home, Nancy Boy? Couldn't miss him with everyone connecting, LOL! ;o)
Hello everybody. (((Shivs, Carlee, Nancy))) and everybody else.
Hiya, Soodlebum!! :o) Haven't seen you in a while... don't get much time for this! Pondering whether or not to start this puzzle, LOL.

ty soodle, ty carlee
Oh yes, Soodle... George has been to Egypt and tells us how sexist they are! He says men there chase after the women tourists from other countries who aren't all covered up too!
Its a very strange country. We were there when Sharm-El-Sheik was bombed - about 20 minutes away. I volunteered as a blood donor - but they told me that I was a tourist, and not to be worrying about all those dead and dying people. Very strange!
OMG, how awful... wonder why they told you that?
Yes Cross, it's a chat log full of goodies today. Bacon, oatmeal cookies, steak, vodka. Yowza!
They were just concerned about their tourism industry.
More than human life? How disgusting!
Human life is very cheap in some parts of the world.
Hello again...
Hiya, Jellen... how are you?
indeed the guy i work with is from new deli india and still firmly believes in the caste system and pre arranged marriages and to work to death those born to a "lower family" he says it is natural for who will do the menial work.i told hims that why people over there are starving to death on $1.25 a day
he does irk me some days
I'm okay Shivs...a bit down today...
any hints for the ar6, please? feeling braindead now.
Yes... horrible attitudes and ideals there! Those in the lower castes must feel they would be better off dead, what a horrible existence! :o(
Hi, NB
ar + math term
hi, Jellen - and thanks!
Sorry to hear that, Jellen... it's bound to happen for some time yet.
i mean why should they kowtow to someone elses ideals of family worth.just because he is born into money..pah!
Hey Jellen. How are you doing?
So-so Soodle...
i am sorry you are felling blue jellen:((
Agreed... it's how they think there, difficult as it is for any of us to understand it!
One of those days, Jellen?
I just have some friends with real problems that I can't help...and a few small problems of my own I need to deal with...
urg..i was going to say that today is the first day in a long long while i have been in good enough mod to have a glass of wine...and yet others here seem down..i'm sorry :(
did you see for the games over there, they hid the poor shanty villiage behind games banners
Oh yes... that is difficult and worrisome, Jellen.
Good for you carlee!
Oooh Jellen. You don't really need other people's problems right now. Your still very very raw yourself.
but lets lighten things up a bit..maybe i can hunt up some dirty limericks for everyone lol
Oh did they? Hide it so the rest of the world doesn't see and know about it... yes, typical. :o(
they did indeed shivs

Hiya, Bugsaw! :o)
that is not one of them LOL
I'll keep plugging away at it!
Hi Shiv. I have been in and out but quiet all day.
Hiya... haven't been on here all day but for a while now on and off. I'm not finding this the easiest puzzle!
Your brother wants me to post a real picture of myself instead of a real little kid one. I am still debating why I would show everyone a chubby middle aged lady...... Still, he has been so helpful I think I owe him
ok...casserole is casseroling as it should...potatoes are peeled and ready for boiled when the time arives..pouring myself yet another glass fo wine...wth !!!
( and that..is the end of that bottle...yea...major milestone for me today ( pathetic as that sounds)
carlee...is the "fo" supposed to be OF or does it stand for FULL OF?
Whose brother, mine?
Yes yours. He knows all about computers and has walked me thru all kinds of weird stuff.
of wine..sorry..common typo for me...with or without wine
Nothing wrong with being middle aged or chubby... many great people are in those categories, including him, LOL! It's the person you are who matters! :o)
I thought it was new babble shorthand for full off and I thought, "how clever"/1
He still posts his photos... on there, not so much here unless they're ones from his childhood, LOL.
Thank you Shiv! You are absolutely correct. I tend to forget that when it comes to myself!
If I ever find these last 27 words, I will look for a photo I am in and put it on my To Do List for today.
Yes... go to his page, see the photos and clips in his blogs and you'll see what I mean about him, LOL. He doesn't care, says he's "fat but still fab!" :o)
Hi, Bugsaw...was away for a few minutes...
Shiv the biggest difference between he and I is that he is an extrovert and I am an introvert. I could never go into his profession
I jellen. Are finding this grid distracting?
I couldn't either, Bugsaw... good thing we don't all want to do the same things in life though or nothing would get done in society, I say!
I am distracted from this grid, lol
I agree totally. We all have our special gifts so we can all take care of each others needs without even trying
I really need to go downstairs and work a little on my kitchen...but it's such a big project I don't know where to start!
Yes... like pieces to a puzzle, we all fit somewhere!
Jellen...I will come do your kitchen if you come unpack and put away all my boxes/111
(not on my usual computer...can't find shift key)
Jellen have you tried something like doing a picture puzzle or knitting? I find it helps to do something that takes my entire concentration but doesn't matter if I stop whenever I feel like it
that is a lovely sentiment bugs...
where are you carleekat?

That's it, carlee... put them to work, LOL.
Yes, shivs...thought I added you...
I didn't get any notice, Jellen?
Last time I moved I stopped as soon as I found the teapot. Things stayed in boxes for months as I got used to not having them. It was much easier to donate or sell them once I realized I had not missed it for months.

That sounds like me, Bugsaw... the teapot's the most critical thing, everything else can wait, LOL. Oh, that and the kettle of course!! ;o)

Hi LeslieAnn
hallo
Hi and bye, LA!
hey leslie
I wish I could afford time to procrastinate more... one day, I keep telling myself, LOL.
It is much easier when your kids are grown Shiv
Yes, Bugsaw... not in any hurry for them to do that though, trying to enjoy then while I still have them at home, because they grow up much too fast!!
It seems one moment they're babies and the next they're starting school... where does it go?
I have no idea on that one. I just know some days seem especially long and others went by in a flash. Enjoying them at every stage is key tho
Yes... being so busy, most of mine go by in a flash!
spend as much time making memories with them....my kids' fav memory i swear is one night i let them have whatever they wanted for dinner...turned out to be ice cream....10+ years later they still talk about that!!!!
sure as hell didnt kill them.....
that is a great idea carlee
Kids always remember the out of the ordinary, special things like that. Finished that bottle of wine yet Carlee? :D
another nite....we had chicken wings... i threw my bones on the floor...
they saterted to too....
so..u go around later and pick them all up..the floor needed washing anyway
started* to too...
I loved how mine remember little things like that instead of huge stuff that took a lot of effort
One of my kids favorite memories is the day I let them go outside, fully dressed and play in mud puddles.
had a blast chucking the bones on the floor
( still working on last glass of wine)
mine did a lot of weird stuff only we called it "creative"
Almost ready to start on my wine carlee...
clue for the de 7 please?
another day i went out and bought canvases ( from dollar store) and abunch of bottles of arcylic paints...let them go outside on lwn and fling paint any old which way...we stillhave those paintings... they are fab!!!
yay champ...i might open a 2nd bottle :) its only 5 pm here
de+ end of keep doing what you are doing
so what am I doing?.... )
if u keep doing it u con*****
( man i hate clueing when i have been drinking..apt to make critical PB errors here )
Ooooh...fun times with the vino!
GOT it now. I was searching, squinting, finishing etc
you can take the wine with you to the PB. so it's ok.
another fun dorky campfire memory i have with my kids ( as recently as this summer.they are 18 and 14).MY SON ( 18) is determined to teach his sister and his mother to spit like a man..so anytime we are alone at the campfire..the spitting lessons ensue
goal to hit the fire... and hear the phssst of the spit turning to steam
stupid dorky fun cost nothing memories...way better then the ones u spend oodles of $ on
that's true. they remember the oddest things!
thats why they remember them..they are odd
my boys loved it when I was toilet training the little ones. When they would get stubborn I would ask if they wanted to go out in the back yard with a bigger brother and pee on a tree. They always went and loved it!
we aimed for dandelions... and the reward was a reese peanut butter cup
i bought bags of them and kept them in the freezer for all those potty training moments
ROFL carlee. I told them my favourite flowers were dandelions and they could always pick them for me. Kept them out of the neighbours gardens
We did the pee-on-a-tree thing. Worked like a charm! But he did have a bad habit of completely dropping trou when he did it, which we had to break him of quickly!

See that is how I pictured you Cross. As a big, Canadian who loves bacon. Fluffy Paul Bunyon, hilarious. That makes the "Asian guy as you" all the more funny.

Well Miss Carlee, all I have to say is I only get the hiccups when I've been drinking. :D

No problems folks. I've been playing off and on all day so I'm passing along clues others have left.

( before they are baked..add a shot of whiskey... u;ll rememebr me in your will for that tip )
yes carlee, whiskey apple pie and sharp cheddar
or anyone else please
ef7 = ef + designer purse ..
ty tor :)
i cant clue..i have had too much wine..i'll a) offend someone...b) end up in the pb...c) make the clues r rated or worse...d) all of the above
My Mother loved apple pie and sharp cheddar. She used to say, "Apple pie without some cheese, is like a kiss without a squeeze." I would repsond, "you can keep your cheddar cheese, I would like some ice cream please."
i don't know any designer purses
It's an old Turkish title of respect ..
if cheese is a kiss what is ice cream [blush]
ef + f*** off an enemy, plus third vowel.
lol
Oh, and plural for that ef.
finally got it thank you
how about the E in the top corner?
if cheese is a kiss then extra old cheddar is just a vertical expression of the horizontal obsession
the first en 6/21?

crossy..i tried the most simple of a 32 char hexidecimal code number...and it says invalid
what is a hexidecimal code
Which e jmc?
no....its not
the left hand E with two wo***
there is a slot for your user name and the team code, that is all that is usually needed
so i am confused with your difficulty;((
That is the ef + f*** off an enemy + third vowel and then plural.
i have put it on three computers without that code
i have it on 2 now
no that was the bottom right E molly
left hand E = my brother Tom is the ***e*t and I am the youngest
do you know how to do screenies carlee?

if so,you can send me a screen shot of where you are at and i can help u better

when you mouse over the icon you will see a number like 55/250 that is how much you have done of a single protien

Hello, m9 - how are you?
hi J.C.!! getting scratchy throat. yuck.
Hello m9f9l!How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
just got home from a nice Sunday drive..looking at fall leaves.
and took a couple pictures of my daughter to play with and learn more about photo processing..
and how about you??
Ah yes? I was having a sneezing fit on the way home from Southampton tonight - and started breaking out in hives. What fun. :P
hives?!??!? yikes!
That's improved now though, thank goodness - must've been allergic to the car I was riding in. A little Renault Espace. Oh the horror. :P
(maybe the seats were leather...)
yesterday we had folks in the south doing the greco roman thing... today it's the scots!
And I'm glad you're doing better.
No, m9. The upholstery was fabric.
Might've been something the fabric was treated with, perhaps. I really don't know. And thank you...
ok.. I gotta get off puter for a few. Tim (my husband) needs to look at something...
I hope your scratchy throat improves and turns out to be nothing - don't want to come down witha cold. :/
Erm - 'with a cold', that was meant to be. :P
My typing's on its travels again. It flies out of the window routinely.

The first time they went through this they had the baby for a few days and then the mom changed her mind. IT was heartbreaking. Then they got their son. But it's still hard to go through the process.
Here's hoping!
