Thanks, zooz, and happy babbling :)
obscure clue for the tr9 for any lurkers: the name of the restaurant owned by whatsherface Triplehorn's family in the Hugh Grant movie "Micky Blue Eyes"
too obscure for me, Gord, but thanks anyway :-)
gort*
Jean Triplehorn, that's the chick
i think it's Italian for "restaurant"?
anagram of what judas iscariot was, plus an extra t and r
ahh, ok *checking*
yup, just looked it up myself, literal translation: eating house
Many thanks, Gort, got it!
was wondering what the lone `T` word was :-)
I need to get some sleep, bye for now & thanks for the tr9/54 Gort :-)
goodo, cheerio
heh, I walk by a building with the tr9/54 about every week
i spose in a backhanded sort of way, it's imaginative to call your restaurant, "restaurant"
I bet the menu would have a lot of food called "food" on it.
sure got quiet in here...
still quiet...
me here, trying to work out the C's
smeg is so totally a word
smegging Cs
C's finally Collapsed
Morning all how many words today
108 sandrafrances
Thanks. Not easy today
tiara
oops
Unfortunately I have got that one!!!!!
sandra..108 words
good morning everyone and also sandrafrances. Hope you are well. Are you ready to come out??
good morning everybody
Good morning ruby. Thought there was no-one here!
hello sally, I just got here and have hardly any time
how are you?
It's not a particularly easy grid today.
small, too, I dont think it has all those words we've had the last 3 days
and the q is a big tease
:-)
I quite like Q words, high scoring and you get the first three letters.
yes, and because of old scrabble games, we tend to know them
You have a busy day today?
after yesterday's absolute exhuastion, we have a house guest coming for a week at 4PM and have to go to Geneva to get her....
celebrating 20th anniversary of the big C!
That's a very special anniversary!
for sure
rant
whoops! sorry
So you should be, I have that one!
I am easily confused....duh
I can't believe it, I only have 66 and I'm already going to have to list :-(
this isn't easy, but I don't have any time anyway
neither husband nor son remembered today, talk abut :((
But that's good in a way ruby, means you don't dwell on it and it is in the past.
Just monkeyed the second 9 (had one) and there is absolutely no way I would have got that without morewords.
but it's always in my mind!
did you find the po5/12, a little monkey-like creature?
No, not yet.
I thought it had a th in the middle
I have 39 words; this is def hard!
Have it now.
Yup!
but niehter porto nor natto are accepted!
One of the 9s is an Italian restaurant ruby.
start with the first and finish with the second Ruby. Hello to you both
hello lynxx
I have the Italian restaurant, but not the other one
Hi lynxxx
I will try to clue it if you want.
is the other 9 also tr?
please.
No, it is na 9/54 but ends the same as the tr
(ie latin plural)
ahah, place for swimming in ancient Rome?
thank you
10 out of 10 for ruby!
if only.....
em7 has that ending too, as does c5
and sc6
ty, lynx, that was my first 7!
{{lynxx}}
Yes, I have those two, but I would say the em is a more normal word, whereas I have never used the na in idle conversation!
I've decided not to say anything to my husband about today's significance...no point, really, it would just make him feel bad
A nice round 20 left...Goodnight ladies!
good night, lynxx, and ty for the help
Perhaps when you have a drink before dinner, just raise a glass and say "here's to 20 years today". I really wouldn't read too much significance into other people not knowing the day, though. I'm sure I wouldn't remember for other people.
Goodnight lynxxx
but your husband, your son!!!
actor
tatar
whoops, again, guess I'm just tired
No ruby, I really would not remember. I remember the date of my husband's heart bypass and of his subsequent accident, but they were only last year and had to be remembered for hospital appointments, etc, but we don't say, hey it's an anniversary.
you're probably right, sensible sally!! I guess I remember too many significant dates, probably significant only to me.....
I guess I think it terms of length of survival, especially with cancer
It's wonderful that it's 20 years for you.
that's how I feel, lucky every day
and now he wants his apero! will bite my tongue!
{{sally}} you are always wise and sensible
Good morning all. Feeling lucky every day is the anniversary to remember Ruby.
Hello Babblers!
and molly, too, has wiscom!
phone, brb
Mornin' Red.
or even wisdom!
*poof*
hi and bye red

Passing coffee and/or tea and croissants to Varumba.
awwww tx molly!!!
that''s a tough lil grid!
Back from phone. Hi to all the just joiners
hi sally
You are right, varumba, it's a nasty little grid.
Mornin' Sally, Mornin Red. Warm drinks and croissants for all!
i normally find half the words very easily... here am strugglign for most letters.....
I smelled the coffee & croissants...... Morning all :-)
morning soodle
Takes a croissant. MMMM, ty. We definitely need an E over to the left near those double Ts.
Today is "It Ends In A Vowel" day in Babbleland. Hi Soodle.
Actually, it is "it ends in a latin plural" day as well.
I know. I'm feeling the urge to break into a chorus of "Oh Sol O Mio".
tx for the clue sally
Have found 7 with that ending so far.
thing i s, am not sure which latin ending you mean..... in my head it's ae... but it's not in this grid...
Let me think of a hint.
Same ending as the Waldorf Astor**
tx sally :)
Good one Molly.
latin ending -rum sometimes plurals as -ria
I was just discussing that place with someone the other day. Seems they have not kept it up nicely. Which is a shame.
well i'll bear that in mind when i go through lickety's...... got 56 left and hitting a wall... so gonna have breakfast ;)
actually, that should be -rium, not -rum
syl guys and gl
bye varumba
they have a new Waldork As***** in Orlando Fl, but I have to admit, I am more fond of anything older and/or original...
I like older architecture too Red. It's the feel of something still around after so many years. That's why I love Annapolis. There are buildings there from the 1700s
on that note, I have to go sample the 44 degree weather 7 C for those across the pond and up north....not so nice for florida!!!
:) see you all in an hour or two...
Have a good day Red.
Must go too. Any clues needed?
OK then, **gone**
bye sally
morning?
hi carlee
Good Saturday to you Carlee.
good Saturday morning to everyone
Mornin' Mom.
morning mom
good morning Molly and Jmbdobie
this grid is a bit of a bugger
It has some zany words in it Mom.
that is does, Molly
stuck with 44 left. bbl with refreshed eyes.
morning mom, molls and jmb...was getting coffee and crumpets...any takers?
bye Jmbdobie
morning ((Carlee))
This strumpet will take a crumpet. Thanks. : )
passing a crumpet worthy of a strumpet to molls :)
My first thought when I looked at the grid today was "Where is the G for gonads?"
mine was "I wonder how many reused words are hee its..only a 100 grid "
thankfully only a couple
It had gotten to the point where sitting down and typing in senor and senhor was a sure fire first two words.
pretty much.....yes molls
By the way, today is "It Ends In A Vowel" day in Babbleland.
hello, I'm back from lunch
i think you are correct molls...
hi ruby
Hi Ruby
((Hugs))
does anyone have the 9's?
not yet for me mom
i have a 7 and an 8
I am wondering if the po is a compound word and if the other tr 9 builds of the Benedict Arnold
I have them Mom. No compounds.
po is a picture
**Sigh**
tr9 is Italian restaurant and 9 is a Roman place for swimming
thanks Carlee
The tr is kind like Benedict but more letters in it.
About 11% end in a t
at for 8 and 7's, I'm usueless
thank Ruby and Molly
BABBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, now that Ruby has clued it, I was going to say an Italian Benedict. : D

well done carlee
co 7, please?
i dont have it cyber...sorry....i tend to work bottom up
hi, all. yesterdat was crazy. I was doing my normal day until late morning, when I tried to log in for work. I was unable to log in completely (I work from home via remote access 4 days per week, and was supposed to work from home yesterday. I called the office, and they said the IT folks were working on a computer refresh (new computers for 400-plus staff, and were working on mine at the time. They told me to call back in an hour if I still could not log in, which I did. At that point, ah hour or so into my shift, they told me I needed to come into the office to set up the remote access. So I had to leave, with no real notice, and go into the office. I had to track down the IT people, who were scattered around the office (which covers most of a city block) to help me get the remote access set up. The process took about ten minutes to complete. I finally got home and logged in for work at 3:45 PM. Luckily, I got paid for the full 8 hour shift.
sounds complicated angel

tr9 is a type of restauraunt, na9 starts with infant word
they actually have it names as such nono?
TY. Never would have gotten that without the Queen ending...
i think it was carlee, i'm trying to find it
well..at least some people can follow my thought process...scary as that may be
In fact, it's a useful ending in other places.
don't get the queen ending either -- alive, dead, country?
Albert's wife, nan
dead...england.... pop decorating style with loads of nicnaks...

risk not living
at least it can be covered up with a shirt\\\\\\\1
its not ugly..its just its a tattoo
i feel your pain carlee, I really don't understand some peoples obsession with getting tatoos
and his father TOOK hiim
it is rather gross and disgusting to me
and my daughter wants to live with dad
sounds like dad is trying to win favor with the kids
( now i will say...he has wanted a tattoo for several years....and we always said..when u are an adult...but..damn..i thought he would outgrow it )
one of my friends' son is a tattoo artist -- very good and a 'name' around the world in the industry, but i still wouldn't want one.
oh.yea..duh..but shit....like this..body altering shit????how responsible is THAT???
not very
unfortuneately at 18 there is no longer any parental control
i can say..that if i ever got one....it would be a toe ring...as i like toe rings... but i hate the feel of one on
but..apparently it is THE most painful place to get one...
is it possible that dad was just making sure that he went some place where there was no danger of him picking up something worse than a tattoo?
it would be a celtic knot with a scottish thislte
probably...i am just..emotional and angry right now...he probably did

Shopping done, slab o'beef in the crockpot and laundry working. I had a productive morning.
Smaan, there is coffee and danish in the penalty box.
good for you molly! hey all -- just poking my nose in before I start work this morning. Having a bit of a slow(er) start to my day. DONE with student teaching, the weekend is devoted to writing the paper(s) that are due Tuesday night. *sigh*
mmmm. coffee...
Not if it isn't viable...........
but that's not a word so smaandmea don't have to go unless coffee sounds good...
I have some pumpkin cookies.
Hey Stid. Writing is a cool way to spend the weekend.
*sits next to gail*
25 left will be back later
Mmm, pumpkin cookies.
I drank all the coffee, though.

mmm just put on some costa rican volcanic mountain grown coffee to perk.that will get the words just flying off the list;))
what a lovely chog -- hello, all! :-)
had a busy morning with my beloved dog :) How are you, stiddie?
hi Une!
I have missed you SO MUCH! are you well? are the kids wonderful? Is the DH still D? are you WELL????
bonjour chere Une! comment ca va?
nm got it and fireworks
howdy stidmama,une,sprite..all my favorite ladies are here:))
Care to share the TR, Matches?
crossy checks his deoderant....
I am TIRED. And worried about getting all the work done before Tuesday... and nervous that perhaps the children were NOT helped by the work we did ALL last month... but hopeful that they all learned something and pleased that many of them did truly spectacular work that their peers were surprised and pleased at seeing... gave a LOT of status to some low-status kids... and WOW. it was a real marathon. and I have missed you all SO MUCH.
Hmm *Sits in the "not favorite" chair. : (
*flirty eyes at cross -- offers coffee to mrs cross*
am well enough, going in the right direction slowly but unstoppable. Kids are doing great, both in highschool now, both adolescents and both with big mouths and tender hearts. The DH is and will always be very very D, because he is my love. Lovvvvvve to see you again!
sounds like you're doing EXCELLENT work, stid!!!
theres my stidmama:)
((((hugs and happy smiles for sprite))))
howdy, sprite and crossy :-)
hi crossy, and Molly too :)
and hey, molly :-)
so the teaching is going well stidmama? good stuff
stid, you did MORE than well. You are giving things that are unique and worth so much.
thanks Une. We had the last presentations yesterday. Wish the classroom teacher had been there. I was so proud of the children! ALL but two presented, one was gone for nearly 1/4 of the days I taught and 4 days last week. *shrug* can only do so much.
you can't win them all, stid, but sounds like you came darn close :D
Oh, I had some children share family stories that were so amazing and wonderful, and the kids who used the stories I told to them had such innovative and amazing ways of "making them their own" that it was a real joy to read their papers and watch their presentations.
a thousand years a go a teacher taught me to read stidmama.that is a gift i can never repay in 500 lifetimes,so never doubt your worth and your impact on the children;)
What grade, stid?
we're so proud of you, stid!!!!!
:-D *beaming at cross*
yaa for stidmama!
7th grade, Language Arts, I did a unit that took oral storytelling from around the world and re-interpreted it as a picture book or puppet show as well as a written story.
cool
It was hard to plan, nerve-wracking to score, and the kids worked VERY hard. It really seems to have paid off
my daughter just got a 1st grade teaching job in a Catholic school
she is in Michigan and jobs are very scarce there, especially teaching jobs
my mother used to teach 1st grade
can I submit a name for that unit? A marathon of narrations should be a narraton. No way enable agrees, though.
sounds like you did a good job, stid
yes, teaching jobs are tough to find at the moment.
LOL sprite! I like it!
:D
teaching jobs are tough to find . . . and knowledgeable, creative, passionate teachers are pretty rare as well -- and that means YOU, Ms. Stid
in a year or two, the huge class sizes due to "downsizing" teaching staff will start to have a huge impact, and I think they will reverse course. At least I hope so... I know in my area a lot of teachers have put off retirement until the stock market rebounds. Hopeful there will be a lot of openings soon!
I second Une
*sonreir* merci, Une!
et sprite!
Anyone give me a clue for the TR6/18, please?
don't have it yet, liz -- this is a hairy little beast of grid, eh?
tr 6 - what Poseidon holds - hi everyone
as slow as yesterday's was smooth, yes
it's tough. still need that lowest T and the E...
hi JBV!
THANKS
and howdy, jbv :-)
i can still see my early teacher1st-2nd grade/ we were not allowed pens of course and had those big jumbo red pencils, and i became facinated of all things by the way she corrected papers with this red pen of hers.she would not do a check mark but this stylized fancy c and i asked for extra writing work so i could do that be be good enough with my letter to earn my first pen!.lol.i can remember the day clearly, which is funny since i cannot remember what i ate for dinner last night.on the big day she called me and 2 others up in front of the class, reached into her own briefcase and gave us each one of her very own pens..lol,you would of thought it was a might sword i was carrying by the way i held it on the way back to my desk.....what a sudden memory..
hi stid - so glad to hear your exciting news - I love stories about kids enjoying learning
hey JBV!
such a cool memory, crossy
lovely memory, crossy.
wow cross... that's an amazing story!
wow, crossy, great memory - have you ever written to her to let her know???
sadly i do not know her name any longer
but her legacy lives on :)
Hello
hi sadie
I bet you could write to the school district and find out -- although perhaps she is no longer around. It has been 80 or 90 years... *wicked mama look*
hey sadie!
morning, sadie
indeed, writers, singers, teachers are among a select few who may become immortal
hiya stidmama and Uneaixoise
but i digress, the perked coffee is ready, who wants a cup?
(I said hi too *pouts*)
yes please, crossy
howdy sadie
TYVM
taking an eyeball break. back ASAP. ***hugs and choclits for all***
actually, I was even the first who said hi, lol
bye stiddie, big HUG and it was SO nice to see you again.
this afternoon, I'm helping set up our big Fall Library Sale . . . which means I get first dibs on donated books and CDs and a $10 voucher -- woohoo!
later, stiddy
hiya cross
soooo, must get crackin' -- later, all -- great to see you! :-) *poof*
I'm a big fan of library sales - but right now I'm under a self-imposed boycott - too many books in piles needing to be read :)
bye Une *hugs*
yaa for une and new books to read! do not forget to check out my favorite online used book ordering site www.biblio.com and they ship world wide.you can also register your own book store there for those that have 1!
I am out of new books to read :( And no money to buy any either. I have reread about everything in the house... and you don't want to know how many books we have.
I went to our library sale yesterday and will be back again later today, I'm sure.
check out that site sprite many books 5 bucks and under
Sprite, you can have a few hundred of my books to read.
yeah... and how about postage
i ran out of room for more books, thats why i have a e-reader as well;))
Oh, yeah...
it is minimal sprite,do not shoot it down till you check the site out
hi all!
My shelves are full and I have the rest in totes on the floor.
i maxed the house out at exactly 500 books lol
in totes, in the car, in the bathroom :)
lol,i have 4 on top of the toilet tank
Hidden behind the sofa.
on the shelf over the computer....
Under the coffee table.
in a box beside the cat beds...
hmmmm...crossy has 4 of something that gail hides behind the sofa <shudders at the thought of what it could be>
books my dear
There is a pile on the kitchen table.
some in the kitchen junk drawers...
sorry, bck... had to get raving mad at my son
uh oh
Ooh, I might have some room in the junk drawer...
I'd love to, Gail!
under the bathroom sink....
books...pile on my bedroom floor and in my night stand ..stuffed to over capacity
beside my bed... in washroom..in living room...and in cartons and cartons in basement
under the bed..on the bed...
am shaking in my chair. Darn, trust your own kids to draw the blood from under your nails!
I keep some of mine in the office, too. Gotta read at work.
on the hallway accent table...
easy sprite...breathe...
we have books everywhere. I love to read and my daughter is the same.
I just put him on the stair to calm down... and to give me time to calm down too, lol.
My son is 41, lives with me, and still can make me that angry...
i am getting ready to ship my wonderful offspring to his guitar lessons;)
and he is 14... too old for the naughty spot but hell, he will have to make do. It is better than strangling him.
oh dear, Gail, does it never stop?
One time when my daughter was small, I had to put her on the front porch for her own safety and mine.
mine is a 16 year old monosylabic angst filled teen.he only really speaks more than 3 words if it involves monbey
money
I can fully relate to that, Gail! Some things you never hear about motherhood... and it is pack and parcel.
No, my kids still fight and each one tells me I love the other best. It never ends.
hehehe....bakc to the teen talk
and when your older, they fight over your treasures and your money even before you are in the ground..i told my m-i-l to have a great old time and spend every cent on herself in the next few years lol
oh dear. Well, now counting to calm down. Just passed the 7,357,231,334
shall i streak for you sprite?
please do, crossy :)
crossy starts strip joint music....
what are we not calm about ( sorry i jumped in to this)
Sprite, shall I ship you a book or two? hi everyone...I have only English though...
Time to take Quid out for a walk, I am too innocent for this...
lol carlee, good to see you. Am just very mad at my son. He is bullying his sister.
ah...ok...well...
have a fun walk, Gail :)
the way i have handled this in the past...
the clothes come flying off willy nilly and i coat myself with wesson oil and streak at 100 mph across the chog floor!...fwappa....fwappa....FWAPPA!.. ...
red, that would be great! If you let me pay for the postage.
( RTH>>I AM SO SORRY...i did NOT mean to upset u at all..and have been watching for u )
waaay too cold here for stripping it 7 C
i felt awful
Quid is always fun. I will send books too!
1c here red..that is why i am running fast
wonderful!
Carlee, it isn't a big deal. the topic has come up a few times and nothing gets resolved, people just express their opinions and then go on and on and on, so I am not going to ever participate in that again.
Cross, that is terrible.
sprite... i generally... took my daughter aside and we made something that son hated for dinner...but that was dinner
Sprite, what do you like to read?
I'm getting whiplash trying to follow the chat. Cross is greased and streaking, Carlee is going mea culpa, and Sprite has smoke coming out her ears. *Passing some herbal tea to Sprite*
I'm just cold here Molly.
and if he hated..he could make something for himself... dble lesson...he learned to cook for self....and learned that we respect as a family and to not single anyone out
I love thrillers, detectives, fantasy, good sfi, mysteries, and otherwise all books well written.
wearing all my clothing at one time..
Oh sorry, and Red is cold. *Passing some hot cocoa to Red*
oooh Sprite, I have some good ones, I love Mysteries...
sorry ladies,i must get dressed now..errr..some apendages are turning blue...brrr
Have you read Colin Cotterill?
wow, good stuff carlee! Thank you!
*whew*
and just to add to molls whiplash..i have a batch of pulla going
what is pulla?
no, I haven't, red. Is he good?
( and sprite..we dealt with it without getting angry )
lol Molly :) Never mind me, am much better already. You guys rock.
And what might that be Carlee? I have a hunk o'beef in the crockpot.
wow that is even better. Well, I missed that opportunity, I got MAD.
He is Very good, it's a great series- totally unlikely, an elderly Coronor in Laos, solves crimes with several sidekicks, I have loved the series.
here everyone, have some costa rican perk coffee....
oh red that sounds just wonderful!
pulla is a finnish sweet bread spiced heavily with cardomom...and topped with sugar
I just looked it up. Sounds delicious.
cardomom?
carlee that sounds sooo tasty! Can you share the recipe?
it is a spice, crossy.
( its a spice crossy )
lol carlee
i will put in my profile later
sounds interesting
I have a few others too, so lets see, sprite, I will just need to get your address...and I will be happy to ship as a gift, it's holiday time and you have been a wonderful friend to me, especially when I was stuck in New Mexico last year...
great, thanks carlee!
Nordic recipes often call for off the beaten path spices.
now i need to figure out my llunch...
its yummy crossy...
back in a few, going to see if mr jr is ready to listen
( arab's use it alot..is a sign of weath if u use in tea or coffee)
i put a tiny little bit of it in banana bread
wealth* even
and it is nice in Coffee...
Sounds like a complicated thing to make Carlee.
tea too rth..lovely in tea
i use my bread machine....to make the dough...then...split into 2 lumps..an then each lump...turn into a bread...do an egg wash...sprinkle with coarse sugar.....let rise..and pop into oven :)
sounds like carb heaven.
turn into a braid* even..sheesh..i need something..tummy rumbling
I haven't made a sweet bread in the bread machine in a long time.
( when gets stale makes a lovely bread pudding or french toast )
Well it is now freezing enough to do it....
if i ever got a bread machine,i would be finished lol thing would never stop
Red, how cold is it where you are? It's only 45 here, but that's cold for y'all down south.
maybe an omelette for lunch???
well it was 44 but it i now 50. I think I am just cold because I went swimming. the pool is heated, but the air outside the pool is not...so I got very chilled...
i prefer it that home made bread takes work, otherwise i would be eating 6 loaves a day;)
( scarlet woke up to snow in asheville )
33 here in american red;/
Well, if I ever see snow that covers anything here, I am moving to Barbados.
had to scrape the car this morn
Cross, I would not live there, too darn cold.
You couldn't pay me to live in Canada, or anywhere else that gets that much ice and snow.
its fricking freezing here.....
red,if i could get you here just once in january,i would take you snowmobiling and you would be hooked
There was snow in Asheville? Cool, my sister lives near there. She loves snow.
No I do not think so Cross, I lived in Rochester NY for several years, I know cold. Not my thing...
plus it seems to aggravate my adthma.
asthma.
nice ride on the machine then back for a big bow of soup and maybe a shot of cherry whisky or a hot toddy in front of the fireplace as it storms outside
i also have asthma
have to use the brown steroid as well not just the blue one
you would be reviving me. I had issues this morning and it was only 7. with no snow, I also got windburnt, so I got a little pissy, my face is soooo red.
you are a delecate soul red;)
I really am, but I do well in hot heat, like 38-39 C no problem for me.
anything over 75 f and i cannot function
so we each have our strengths
over 80f i become one big heat rash
think of me as much like a big happy fat seal on the ice floes...
It took my husband exactly one year to de-acclimate from Canada. The first winter he was here, he ran around in a fleece jacket only. By the next winter, he was cold all the time and in a full on winter coat.
or more like one of our black bears..
my brother moved to costa rica 4 years ago and has not wore more than shorts and a t-shirt since
he says long pants feel strange now
I would love to live in a place where shorts were all that was required.
COme down to FLorida, we are pretty much shorts year round. I do wear jeans occasionally.
he owns no coats now lol just has a suit in the closet for office and other formal functions
like i say red, first time it went over 80f,id be hugging your air conditioner
Our economy is bad, and we have a lot of older drivers, but...it is warm!!!
economy is bad everywhere
true. it does actually seem to be picking up again, lots of folks I knew who were out of work and getting decent work now.
here us older workers are fighting university students for Mcjobs lol
the days of 30 years at the same factory are long gone
Yes, I was surprised that some of my friends finally found jobs, but they are educated specialized "folk" my friend with no extra education is finding it very difficult.
now if you hold a job for over 2 years, the news employees look at you with awe
seriously thinking about getting under the covers here.
yes, at half way and I am done for the moment, scrabble is next, for my nice lazy day...
hello
Well, on the positive side, our youngest finally landed a chemistry job 1 1/2 years post graduation. On the negative, my husbands job of 21 years is in flux....sucks this close to retirement!
whoops...forgot to change icon for today...brb

i am keeping my 25 year old (as of wedsday)
hellooooo
howdy varumba
he is bullying his sister and is pissing me off BIG time while talking it over.
hi varumba
hi varumba
hey crossy :)
and sprite and jmc :)
m9 would be a mess whatching us trade our kids off;)
crossy, I bet they would behave better after the switch, lol. Strange eyes and all.
your kids are always better for others...
yes i never recognize the description my friends and family give of my boy
safe driver. . . polite. . . . helpful. . .
i fully expect my kid to come home with the key to the town one day...
I have three boys and a girlie-in-law. They are all golden.
isn't there a word like antrope or attrope meaning lethargic ?
ok, I guess I will keep him after all. He just came in to apologise and it was a sincere apology, stating clearly what he thought wasn't ok about his behaviour. I think that is pretty adult for a 14 yo.
sound like a good place to let it rest
jmc, yes, I believe so. Have tried several things. Maybe it is only with an -ic ending?
save your energy for bigger wars
that is marvelous sprite
crossy: yes indeed. After an accepted apology, the case is closed.
see this is where my mother being alive would be helpful -- i used to call her with questions like that
I can imagine, jmc.
darn, german crime scene isn't valid either
jmc are you thinking of atrophy?
lol jmc, i am working on yet ANOTHER 250 wu protein...
probably acree! ty
JMC, are you thinking of entropy?
i am on a 50 getting my feet wet
=)
lol maybe molly! now i have two words!
this grid is so tough!
ah, that is my confusion, thanks Molly! And acree too.
I think so too, varumba
any help with the lowest T?
am at 47 and just listed... and lickety's list is only helping a lil bit!!
56 words found, no list, and not much luck, grin
just 7 left
i meant 47 left ;)
wow kaz!! wtg
wtg varumba! And even more for Kazzer
sigh i need to leave soon to drive to philly for a wedding and i was hoping for nbt but I doubt it
wtg kaz
I don't have that T either, sorry
is it just me,or is this grid a tad difficult?
just a tad
id'say a lot, but that's me!
na9/54 any1?
its a twisty one crossy
trying to sort out which t the bottom t was
there is a 9 in this mess????
2 apparently
2 even
oh..is the 9 i think...tr9
one has to do with swimming pools, and the other is an eating establishment (Italian)
2 of them crossy
too lazy to change my icon but changed my flag for the icon theme
na9 and tr9
the tr9 and the na9
wow jmc, good one
the na is plural of indoor swimming pool
When I think how long I hunted for my duck - but I like my duck, too. Good move jmc.
just found tr9.. no idfea how to clue it apart from italian word...
oh tha tis hillarious...i had no idea the theme for today and i am baking finnish bread....what a coincidence
you duck is gorgeous and you can save it for another them some time
have the itallian bistro:)
but the pool eludes me
i know what the word is but damned if i can spell it
This is true - birds, esp. ducks, glass work.
Maybe it's just me, but I have never heard anyone refer to an indoor swimming pool as an na9
na9 ends on the ending of queen vicki's proper name
same here crossy
double the t,s in the middle jmc
i keep all my icons in a Babble file in my photos
had to use reverse dico, but found the na9 ;)
thanks for the clue, found the swimming pool and learned a new word
and if u reverse the middle letters in the tr9...and stuff them in with the na word..u get the 9
i must mingle in the lowers circles,no indoor pools with fancy names;(
got the bistro!
and it is the lower T
i rather like how the na9 rolls off the tongue too
Heaven forfend - an oc5,6 that are the sing and pl of a word!
i prefer the tr myself ;)
:(
hi all, thanks for the na9 clue...took me 3 minutes to figure how to get it to come up on google...never heard that one before...
Nice word once you've found it.
i am sad to say i had to use morewords to get it
crossy, na9 = na + cross letter + 1st vowel + cross letter + ring letter + lat pl ending
i used more for my last 7 words crossy...
i have it now ty varumba
ah well, me too :)
yw
it is a nice word...
so. any1 can clue the na5 before it?
now for the tr9?
hi Pini
same 5 letter ending as the pool thingie
its kinda the same...reverse lett 3 and 4 from na9
na5 n + mixed up solo song in opera?
na+ limey thank you + same 5 letter ending
thanks for the tr9 too
hi sprite
fireworks for me
but it's supposed to be a 5 letters... that makes more than 5, no?
wtg Kazzer!

po8/45?
yes please, varumba ;)
* feeling a bit dense here * another small nudge for the tr9?
lol, doesnt'help me.. i do have the cooked wine in head, but that's only a a 5 letters
po8 = landscape or po8 (orientation
)
Pini: T + rodent + Queen Vic*****

Can't spell, obviously - made it all much harder. Got to go - good luck all. (The tr7 would have been much more suitable yesterday, for Guy Fawkes!)
congrats helen
when the c,s become my last words hootowl, you can be the first in line to beat me over the head with them lol
true, but thanks :)
hehehehe
helengirlk , I lived in England as a kid but I can't remember what Guy Fawkes day is for
too bad you didn't read my profile text yesterday then, lil*monkey
sorry sprite... missed it
It took me 20 min to figure out I was spelling the tr wrong! And I'm Italian!
i rememer going to big bonfires for it
what did guy fawkes do to get a day? invent spandex? lol
Guy Fawkes was the bad guy that almost blew up the Government... with some other guys... he was captured and executed.
some say they celebrate the fact the government wasn't blown up... others say they celebrate the guy that tried so hard.
(last post was tongue-in-cheek!)
sounds approprate - too bad we can't do the same
so was mine
lol it got so quiet I was afraid I had insulted you all
if someone blew our govt up all they would do is half a million dollars worth of improvements!
no - I think I did.
i thought Guy fawkes day was closer to Thanksgiving, end of Nov... is it always Nov 5 ?
amen
yes lil*monkey
brb
bfn hootowl

hello again friends... taking a small break from the madness.
hola stidlicious
lovely to see you for the 2nd time, stiddie. Welcome to this madness instead.
hi stid
*grin* hey monkey! hey hoot!
rofl.. madness indeed. did you find that lowest T and the E yet? care to share?
yes I did. Let me check
t itr - Italian restaurant
the e - think of magorium
thanks hoot. "emptor" was clearly not it!
magoriums em*******
tr9 and em7, stiddie, same endings
ah, wasn't thinking in italian today! thanks sprite and hoot!
yw
NBT finally!
yep
no, forget about that T for the em, stid. I made the same mistake!
caveat emptor.... I tried it ugh times
everyone seemed to stick on them
and yvw

is same ending also for na9
go up!
the G is jewels...
oh crap! never mind
thanks anyway sprite
hmmmm. NA 9. *thinking*
*grin* fish worthy, lil!
and thanks, hootowl
monkeys clearly have no need for the G word. they prefer bananas. *tosses bananas at monkey*
fancy name for a swimming pool
yw
monkey like banana and monkey like ge4
I can do without them too. As long as there are hugs and books, and bananas.
brb
so na9 is like tr9 and em7 ?
yes the ending is
hm. thinking about swimming and such....

darn wooden spoons...rubs head....
hi, elegant :-)
You have our sympathy, Elegant. Hello, everyone!
if society would say hairy legs was fine it would also work. that is my suggestion. when my mother grew up no one shaved legs or waxed them. they were fine as they were. who says hair on women is not good? hollywood came up with that idea. in some cultures hair is fine on women.
my mother was born 1915 in the u.s. by the way. never shaved her legs ever.
Sigh. Those were the good old days. Laser hair removal is very popular now. I had some done recently. Not bad at all.
2
we have allowed society to rule us. my daughter didndt shave during college as rebellion.

Hello Ata!
hello!!
From a distance Hobbit looks like one of those ink blot things.
rorschach blots
The very one.
HAZ!
ATA!
she does rather!
TO!
TO!
a very dignified spangle as alwyas and a bouncy hobbit
Yes, indeed, Spangle has an owner who fails to get out the camera as often as Ata does.
is she ever not dignified?
If she was, I wouldn't tell you in case it would destroy the mystique.
a welcome sight, both!
Why, thank you, TO!
You don't know the half of it...
the last 24 here are not simple though the 5 and 9s were fun
Oh dear, that sounds ominous.
meant 8 and some 7s too
Not knowing the half of it is ominous rather than the 24 left.
i just finished watchin a tv show making gazed roast chicken perched upon a beer can. always wanted to try that.
Some of the words had to be dragged from the recesses of babbling gone by.
oh dear. husband would rather have an empty cupboard in the kitchen than have something in it that's not "kitchen stuff"
lolGLAZED though i did GAZE upon it hungrily
Now I'm confused. Who was perched on the beer can? You or the chicken?
They must make bigger beer cans in America, I'm sure I couldn't balance on one here.
lol now haz that modifying clause wa near to its intended modifier
a5?
hi kje.
na5
I know, I'm just being picky. It's not like me.
beer can chicken!
bahaha i would prefer to see the chef balanced on the beer can
started at Sony Bryan's BBQ in Dallas TX
hi TO
have you ever made it?
yep
na plus the first letters of a country whose capital is Tehran.
does it taste like beer>
it cooks standing on end with the beer can inside on a grilll - the beer of course steams and keeps the chicken super moist
no, doesn't taste anything like beer
sorry my typing is off.
ty haz
cook's country did a glazed beer can chicken. apparently the key to crispy skin i s drying it out with baking soda
i don't eat the skin usually
but the grill usually makes it crisp
i loathe skin. no way would i ever eat it
Lurking fireworks - Happy babbling all - TTFN
just came from the fresh market who were ampling their options for thanksgiving. i had turkey, ham,, prime rib, stuffing, potatoes, carrot souffle, sweet potato souffle, cran, green bean, sweet p otato pie, pecan cho chip pie, red velvet cake, gouda and vermont cheddar washed down with cinnamon cider. samples, all
*mouth waters*
mmmm - great lunch, TO
yayay met!
and i am starving now! ;/
s'mom's on the way to pa

the cinnamon cider (cold ) was really godd, i did not expect that
AND they had is yesterday too and i was home - i forgot :(
I'm not a cider fan

LOL

Evening/morning all

Or co plus what the athlete did in the race, opposite of from.
hey FM!
FM!
Hello FM!
thanks haz
what a marvelous clue!!!!
I think Ata is probably having a debate about kitchen cupboard contents.
You're welcome, sammysmom.
haz, a secondary clue...is walked away from a grid word on its own?
Hello hello!
ah, finnaly got that picture... was looking for a compound word
ws telling my sone about the clue and his reaction ... """ oh my GOD, all you babblers think alike!!""
Sadly not, TO, but take out the n and you have an ra4/4
Ata is debating kitchen cupboard contents??
lol smom
too funny!
Is he trying to say we're weird?
snowing like crazy here in ohio today. glad i went shopping yesterday
no haz, but he admits that his train of thought is miles away from mine...lol
oh my, i think i heard it was about 70 i n nebraska?
well for a start he is male and they stink strangely at the best of times :)
Fair enough - it's great when people 'get' what you're on about.
They stink strangely?
yup
and will be mid 60s by end of the week here.
*think not stink!!
That has to be one of your more opinionated typos.
o.0
*digs hole and jumps into it*
sounds rather freudian to me.
hahahaha
last sc6?
Sorry brain is frazzled, almost finished work, just taking a quick break and have been at a family powwow today.
Ata's husband is!
sc6/21 - tack it after Nova if you're Canadian.
Ata!
aaaaawwww - it is the happy dog!
happy dog :)
ata's husband is what?
hello folks
annoying?
Hopefully not stinking strangely.
is he a happy dog? I missed that
Hi ruby.
nm i got it
Hello, ruby.
hello fm
hello ruby
he'd rather have a big empty cupboard in the kitchen and a pile of stuff in the hallway than let me store something in it that isn't "kitchen stuff"
hello TO
hello haz and fm
Disguise it. Put big labels on it.
ruby - you can't tell by looking at him?
You're an artist, you can do things like that.
He is just strange.
and 2 of the things were not just folders but *empty* folders. apparently that makes a differece
Good gracious, if they can make a wreath look like a bottle of Baileys, you can make a document look like cornflakes.
and we need more room in the kitchen for food (even though there's an empty cupboard)
our friend is visiting from Miami and I made a feast and am so tired that I think I'm going to collapse!
so he placed 4 tins of fruit at strategic intervals in the front of the empty cupboard
Have to go! Tea ready... Nice to see you all but chicken awaits.
what haz?!
and the hearing yesterday was a huge strain and was only the beginning.....
awe Haz :( Hope to see you tomorrow.
sorry to hear that ruby - go get some rest!
bye haz - thanks for the help
ok kids, i am bailing. catch you tomorrow i hope. i will come out if you are here.

Jellen! Your new icon! You have a lovely smile.

jelly you are ADORABLE :)
Thanks, Molly
Aw, shucks!
Thanks molly...glad that was so helpful...sometimes it's the simplest things!! You're about 40 minutes from my daughter! Away at school for the first time...just sent 2 more care packages today...She's at MICA
what is MICA? is that part of Univ of MD ?
Your daughter is at MICA, how cool. My oldest went to Maryland College Of Art & Design in Silver Spring.
just found pe5, the nut
MICA = Maryland Institute College of Art. They call where my son went MCAD.
MICA...Maryland Institute College of Art...next door to U of MD...very creative place for the artists--seems like a great program so far! great historic remodeled buildings mixed into a section of Baltimore.
awesome!
Babs, what is your daughter wanting to do with her artistic talent?
What did yours do after college, Molly?
He went to a two year college. He tried to complete that at a four year college but ran out of time and money. He would really love a degree in graphic design, but he's still paying off student loans.
He's currently working a job that has nothing to do with art, rats.
you can see some of her stuff at izzylawlor.com...and mostly now just uploading photos to FaceBook...we had a site up before with some of her earlier work, but she now has taken over and of course doesn't want her earlier stuff. She's planning on focusing on fibers and illustration..she's very gifted in many artistic ways so difficult to predict what she'll end up doing..MICA also has a teaching path for the artists...also her work at poems.deviantart.com/gallery
she does henna body art, beaded and other jewelry, illustration, costuming, poetry, painting, sculpture, so far!
at6?
at6...at + I snagged my blouse on a nail and now it is ****
ah thanks molly

Hi Pini. What team?
I'm back for a minute or two..hi jellen and pini and ruru, cos, molly and buff
UO Ducks
ruru....I need to get my eyes checked. Your icon (small) looks like a nude female anatomy....thought it was a racy salute to Breast Cancer Awareness.
hi pini
or I have a 1-track mind
Congrats, Pini. You have quite a team this year. Maybe #1 this week.
Pini, I started us a game on FB Scrabble..I couldn't find a game on Lexulous...and the bigger grid on Scrabble is better for me
we made #1 last week! :)
okey dokey, jilly
thx buff...it's rather exciting considering recent "history"
hi jmitch...
* pondering how bananas look like nekkid women *
look from a distance pini...I laughed!
The Buffs are looking forward to joining the Pac10, Pini. We lost again today...you'll have an easy target for a few years! :o)
G-day pini and thanks jillyjill for understanding my vision.
that's right...Colorado is joing our ranks, eh? no more Pac10...gonna be what, the Pac12 now?
I think so -
I've forgotten who the 12th is...
Utah -
gonna be interesting as y'all are in a different time zone, too! :)
jmitch, it's not just your eyes. I thought Ruru's icon was a pair of ____ too. Maybe it's our dirty little minds.
Perhaps it's what babble, mind, and age do to ya...I must be too young *wicked giggle*
you're turn, jilly
(I kept looking for a lex game, sorry for my delay)
gonna have to wait on that...heading ooff for a bit..bbl (hugs to all)

Hooray for cos!!!
what a painful grid
Too bad Babble words can only go up to ten. Otherwise, I'm sure phantasmagoria would have been in today's grid.
Babble words can be longer, I think up to 13, based on stats, but that word...is a mouth ful Hello!
Hi, red
hi Jellen how are you doing?
I'm doing well, thanks!
Good to hear. What have you benn "up to?"
40 left here, I may cheat and get the lickety for today.
Well, I've started dating again...Going to a lot of concerts, doing some volunteer stuff...
Sounds quite busy.
Trying to keep busy!
busy I suppose is good.
For me right now, it seems to be...
I am not very good at sitting about myself. I went to the movies today and it was a great film, but somewhere in the middle I started to wonder how much longer...
lol
Jellen do you have a clue for the 8. or anyone else who may be lurkering.
My cats are doing their best to get me to sit still today...Both have been atop me much of the afternoon...
I so want a cat...but I think the dog is enough.
po 8 /45
po8? painting
My icon could be considered an informal po8
oooh thanks both,
and Hi Jeff.
Brb...need some sustenance...
atari should be a word lol
It should!
Anyone watching the Basketball?
went to see the rebuilt pier at Weston super Mare today, ery busy, we got wet in the rain.
that sounds, err, chilly mummy!
no, it was quite warm for the time of year, actually red.
Oh wow, then not so bad, here we have had a cold snap. I can not get warm. but...its probably warm to you 7-8C today.
it has ben about 13-14 so not too bad, and little wind for the sea side
hello all!
hi stid
hello stidM, how are you?
how are you mummy? sounds like you had a lovely day
scot
I am well red, tired and trying to crunch numbers and format a report, but feeling a sense of overall success with the student teachign.
oops sorry
indeed mummy.
who you calling a northerner???? *indignant mama look*
rofl
:)
what was your favorite part of the student teaching StidM?
hi stid, yes had a lovely day, went to my sister's for dinner after the walk along the prom, it was good to see her and her family, we don't see them so often now they have moved
um... actually teaching was the best part. being with the children and helping them learn, watching them struggle with ideas and tasks and then "get it" and have that rush of accomplishment. It's the best feeling.
That sounds wonderful, stid!
Hello again...
I think you are a natural teacher!
hey jellen!
Mummy, that sounds very fun. I saw my sister last year in Nov. and this year am spending Xmas with them and I am really looking forward to it.
thanks red. I felt a LOT more confident once I figured out which end was up; the writing of the lesson plans (according to a different person's plan) was un-natural and un-comfortable. The rest was relatively easy, including "aligning to standards" -- that was actually kind of fun (in a geeky, tech-data kind of way)
no sister to spend time with. *sigh*
acote
acora
oops....
When our parents pass away it is usually left to one or other of the children to try and keep th family together. we are 'close' but distant by location, and also age, sister is 13 years younger, brother is 5 years older than me and lives in another part of the country.
gee, that's a huge age range.
lost one sister when I was 16, little sister doesn't really rember her, sadly.
It is, imagine it's interesting.
that's too bad. a hard age to lose anyone, let alone a sibling
you know, I am seriously considering purchasing a new television, even though my TV is not broken...what is wrong with me?
I meant the age range, condolences to you on the loss of your sister, which had to be quite devestating.
yes, still seems like yesterday, it would have been her birthday last week, wonderwhat she would have been like now!
RED! SNAP OUT OF IT!!! be serious. A NEW TV??? when there are all those choclits to acquire??? *exasperated mama look*
stidkid #2 just got home from building the set for his play. He is exhausted. I can hardly wait for him to play his NEW TROMBONE!!!!
brb...
I always wonder about that with Children, the potential to become is one thing that I love to watch...
my biggest regret is that we only started to see eye to eye with each other only a few months before she died.
well, Mummy, you being a young person yourself...I think you can know that you probably did just what anyone would have done and been in that position. and nice that you did have some time to be with each other in understanding.
hi all
Hi temple!
that's life, I still see some of her close friends, time stands still... they remember her fondly, since that dreadful day in 1971
pardon me for expressing my whing-y-ness. but I can not get warm! I do nto want to turn on the heat!
anyway, must not get too maudlin, my troubles are minimal compared to some of those who are in our babbling midst
hi red
I think we all have similar troubles throughout life, what is nice is that we do not all have crises all at the same time.
have a culld for warmmth from me red ((((mmm))))
TO how are you?
Oooh thanks mummy.
fine ty and you?
well, cold. btu otherwise, I went to the actual movies today for the first time in years....was fun.
yw red, i am cuddled up in my pj's with a glass of port, just about to go to bed, given up on the grid, goodnite all
good nite Mummy, take good care.
what did you see? mummy have a good night
good nite all mummy xxx
Mao's Last Dancer. I was surprised to find out the film has been out since 2009. It's showing at the local multiplex.
do you recommmend it?
Oh yes! It was really lovely. Especially if you enjoy Ballet...and the music of course was from many of the classic ballets...
ooh did you ever crave something then cook it and it doesn't quite come out right? maddening
I have done that, what were you cooking....
potatoes and eggs.
same as if when you really want the hamburger or something from somewhere and you go get it and it turns out to just be blah.
sound promising.
yes but i was too much in a rush, didn't brown the potatoes or add enough parmesan
yes, I do know what you mean. Oh the heat may have to come on, btu I just cant bear to pay for it.
i have given up that battle. too old to skimp on heat.
i have aleaky triple front window and i have to suck it up
TO, youwill feel differently maybe even Sc*** me when you discover here it is 66 degrees inside. I am just delicate...2 days ago though it was 82.
i heat to 68 generally
wait that word is NOT in the grid! scold!
so you see I am being a bit wimpy.
well you have a cold, that makes a big difference, maybe low fever at night
*thinking red should live somewhere that stays above 80...*
no cold, I just am cold. We got a cold front and it is not working with me. it was 44 this morning.
hey TO! *offers choclits*
scold is not but Sc*** is.
I just defrosted some choclit cake from the freezer and ate it as consolation for needing to work another couple hours (at least) today. *sigh*
cheer up, i have a story in my profile
hey stid
*offers ears of sc5 to red* butter? salt and pepper? you want me to take it off the cob for you?
Oooh is it sweet Sc***?
rofl TO! LOVE IT!
yes dear, the "candy" variety with white AND yellow kernels
that is a great story TO!
well i had to clean it up a bit. i get good ones from my brother's firend via email every so often.
maybe i need it without butter then.
hi, babblers :)

hey welki!
hi welk!
Ours always had little plastic ears of **** on them...
Hi Welki!
nice gang here tonight.
welki would appreciate my profile story
yes, but that is redundant. I always make a pig out of myself when I have fresh **** so piggies are my handles!

ok i need further sustenance and to turn off the tv and turn on the radio. nothign but crap on
the Magic game is on but it's probably local to here and charlotte.

fireworks! night trif
night TO, and huzzah!!! well done!
need anything before i go?
a pecan mudslide would be nice .. thanks, to
I could desperately use a scotch and soda....
thanks ever so much!
sorry i have 2 guinnes and a blue moon
what's a blue moon -- or, most importantly, what color bottle does it come in?
owl, my daughter and son in law go to a micro brewery in new brunswick called harvest moon
Good evening babblers.
hello wht!
hi wht
Hi all.
hey there jacula!
Trif - a Blue Moon is a brand of beer and also a girly cocktail
Here's the cocktail recipe: * 1 cup crushed ice * 1/4 cup vodka * 1/4 cup blue curaçao * 1/4 cup whipping cream * 2 tablespoons vanilla-flavored syrup (such as Torani) * 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice * 1 tablespoon Cointreau or other orange-flavored liqueur
thank you. does it at least come in a blue bottle? Oh, how I crave/hoard those....
gawd almighty, it should come with a bag of insulin as well....
Trif - how funny - I love blue bottles, too. (The glass variety, not the flies!) They look so lovely on a windowsill with the light coming through them.
I agree. have LOTS in my kitchen, and my mosaic over the stove features lots and lots of blue sea glass I have found
Trif - re the cocktail. I've never tried it. I HATE sweet drinks.
there is a photo of the mosaic in my flickr photos, if you care to look - it's on the very first page, which is number 9, I think....
I like green sea glass. I once made a centre for a ring out of a nugget I found on the beach.
are we drinking tonight?
only in cyberland, mcurl
I'm on the Chardonnay, mcurls. What's your poison?
awesome, best place to drink with no side effects
well, to be honest right now i'm working on a Coke Zero
i am supposed to be preparing the rest of my sunday school lesson for the morning, but here I am, babbling.
Actually, me and Other Half are drinking for real. He's on Shiraz.
I'm assuming everyone's finished the grid? If not, I can clue.
^5 mccurl .. coke zero here, too
nowhere near, jac....
Coke - have you seen how it cleans drains, moss off slabs, rots teeth?? EEK!
It also cleans toilets.
Jac, I have only just started.
that's why i have the cleanest insides, jac
Hey Trif! Scoop and I are watching Rocky Horror. She had never seen it; just the Glee version and needed a reference hahaha
Well, if anyone needs a clue, just ask.
shoo bop shoo bop bop. I feel certain a field trip is in order!
I could ask for the next 61 words, but that might be a bit much. Thanks for the offer.
kadresa - it's always fun watching someone watch the RHS for the first time. You can bet they'll be having a little go at the dance the next day.
She'll never be able to watch Muppit Treasure Island again
LOL
maybe I should give HER the RHPS fun pack for her birthday - she might actually go with me!
sorry welki, I wasn't ignoring your coke comment; I was after my pizza!
We should all go....really....and wear the costumes
Dammit Janet! Let's do the time warp again.
FIELD TRIP
Oh Brad!
I would def have to watch my dvd a few times, to get back up to speed.
We should all dress like that for next Halloween
I hear that at the theatre it's at now, you aren't allowed to throw anything, and everyone is searched going it. I will give you one of my brassieres to wear, and we can hide all the supplies in it
Babblers en masse at The Rocky Horror Show would out-horror Hammer Films. What fun!
One left...the tr 7; the aliens are killing them now
ok, have my RHPS dvd running behind babble now.
I see this place turns into a bar after hours. Cool.
Snif. I always got sad when rocky gets it...IN THE END
kadresa - the tra7 is someone who tunrs in information and lets his friends and country down.
Done! Rocky wasn't bad in his little golden thong; Time Warp finish!
YEAH SKILLS
see, now I just started it, so I am still in the opening credits....oh, how I missed this!
I am SO going to hell! Babbling and preparing my Sunday School lesson is one thing....preparing my lesson whilst RHPS is on in the background is a whole 'nother affair
trif - I don't think God has an objections to anyone having innocent fun.
*any
rhps is not exactly innocent fun....
Opps! Glass no 4 has not done my typing skills and favours.
God will forgive you....I'm skipping SS tomorrow. This was my day: drive Sarah to work; last coat of paint on Drew's room; clean up the mess; decorate something; make lunch; pick up Sarah; clean entire house top to bottom; make dinner; clean up; hit a wall and decide to have wine; watch RHPS & Babble
rhps is to do with the Rocky Horror Show? Not to be taken seriously.
Hey any clues needed before I sign off? Scoop wants to play something else....
no. wish you were going to be there tomorrow though. or wish I could skip. have taught every sunday this year so far!
Told you to get a sub...scoop may do the "come with," we'll see. xoxo
do keep a good thought for primo and I tomorrow tho - this thing is like the artist superbowl
Clue for th singleton a on the lower left?
howdy again everone
ar + **** and rave
Hi crossy
ar6/18
ty jac and lbd.
arrant
oops
darn
off i go...
Psst...Cross...I left some Jack Daniels in the penalty box...ssssh....
mmmm
is there nothing finer than a woman who keeps her own bar supplies..and shares?..i think not;))
I'm one of the Old Guard and I believe that the PB should only contain stale bread and old water.
mean ol jacula!
You're not supposed to go there for FUN! We had the jacuzzi for that.
Ack! A Puritan! *Runs and hides*
Trif - Don't care! We original Babblers don't like all this 'easy' stuff.
Okay, tomorrow, all Babblers who type grid words in the chat box will be put in the stockade and then be tarred and feathered.
Seriously though, what's the point of playing the game if the words are spelled out or given to you?
Molly - sounds like a good idea! You forgot the last bit about setting them on fire, though.:-)
Oh by all means, lets burn them at the stake too. Night all.
lol jacula, remember when i first started,i kept hair shirts in there
Oops! I think Molly was being serious.
Crossy - I hope you haven't sent all of those hairshirts off to the charity shop?
i still keep a few around for anything goes nights;))
Well done, crossy!
Anyone need any clues?
while i am not old,old guard,i have earned my battle scars;)
Still have 35 left jac. Seems a bit early yet.
Crossy - you have indeed! Did you ever try that bacon-wrapped loaf thing before bacon was banned in real life?
lol poptart is in da grid;)
wht - okay.
and i am not ready yet either but ty jackula
Crossy - I've never eaten a popt*4 in my life, but I'll bet the jammy filling burns your mouth like hell.
i tried it indeed;)))
Oh, here's the difference between UK and USA and Canada. We've all finished and you're all just starting.
actually i had a quick stab at it this morn and hoping to polish the rest off in the next hour or so
jacula, pop ta4s are little slices of heaven....
my kid loves them,i find them a tad too sweet
Hi and bye all -- back from bridge, heading out for a dinner party with neighbours. 32 left and no time! See you around flip time.
Trif - they are little slices of moth-burning heart attack.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
Hi Jilli. Don't worry, you can come back soon when I'm gone.
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hope you have a good time at your dinner party.
Thanks, Min and Hello.
howdy min and welcome to the grid;)
I LOVE poptarts also, however,I just also discovered toaster strudles.Do you guys know what those are? I like them better than poptarts now.I can't believe in my 39 years here on this planet,I've been missing out on toaster strudles. I just bought four boxes of them
Don't worry about Jilli and me, btw. I love her to bits (as my stepdaughter would say) but she doesn't like some of the things I think, do and say. I think we will work it out though.
Hello crosshair and thank you! Came back to finish up
now toaster strudels rock!
at 6/18 please
I'm just wondering if any of you who only know about toast done in an electric toaster, know what real toast tastes like? Or, if you're used to electric sandwich maker toasties, do you know what a proper gas-grilled toasted sandwich tastes like? My favourite filling for one of those is bacon, Brie and green grapes.
Jeff - what the American lawyer does - at6.18.
ty-so many new words in this grid
Or, to recognise a new boss or Lord in old times.
<gets out the oxford english dictionary>
any hints for the tr9 please?
i do toast in an electric toaster,i do not care for those little toaster ovens, but in the past we used to have a old gas stove and on the bottom ,instead of a place to hold pots and pans,it had a gas fired broiler wht a shingle sheve and we could toast 18 slices of bread at once in that sucker! lol
lexi - it's an Italian eating place for one definition.
Crossy - just try holding your bread slices out on a toasting fork over a real fire.
t + rodent + Queen Vic*****
we used to do that also while camping
Crossy - and don't you think the toast tasted better?
jackula,i have cooked things over an open fire that would make you squirm lol
Crossy - Lol - list.
ty diane and jac
I'm assuming the first will be rabbit...
bear,fish,groundhog,snake,bannock,moos e,cray fish....
and on and on
Not squirming yet.
deer,porkupine....
possum ?
no,possums are not that common up here
Still not squirming.
we see them but they are scarce
your my kind of lady jackula, common up we have the moose camp open;)))
Any trout, crossy? YUM!
yes,we have lake trout, speckled trout and splake are common
How about catching the bear who was catching the salmon? Bear steaks and salmon. Wow!
brown trout are a rarer treat
got it! thanks jacula and diane!
not because they are scarce but it takes a more gentle touch to get them
:-)
Really, Crossy? They're quite common here in UK.
ours have real soft lips and you cannot haul on them like you do with the lakers or even the speckles..you just end up with a set of fish lips and nothing more
Clue for the co7 please.
salmon are common here as well
As for the bear... if he was trying to catch me for dinner, I'd rather catch him first! At least I'd make sure he was dead before I ate him. He wouldn't give me the same courtesy; he'd take a chunk or two out of me as I screamed and then dip into my abdomen to scoop out my nice warm guts, he'd probably take heart and brain last. Nasty death!
i can do a fish fry up that would bring a tear to yer eye;))
wht - co + the have a wordy tantrum + a vowel.
oh, that sounds like heaven!
rule number 1 when in the bush: always yeild to the bear,if he wants to go west, you go east lol
ty jac
Crossy - eurgh! Just the lips? How weird!
ugh - I have just one word left and it's the nine....wish me luck!
our browns fight like mad and are in the 2-12 pound range and considered a delicacy
and our speckles when done in a light batter in a cast iron pan with a pat of butter along with some fried taters...heaven!!
Trif - what sounds like heaven? Not my decription of death by bear, I hope??
wht - y/w
crossy's fish fry sounds like heaven
Trif - na9 is a word for indoor swimming pools. It rhymes with the Italian eating place.
add some fresh tomato slices and some crispy english muffies with jelly and yer all set
Congratulations dianedecoder on going pro! Hooray!
Trif - Phew! I'm glad you said that. I'd begun to think you wrre a weirdo. LOL
ty jac.
y/w wht.
Oh, I am definitely a weirdo, jac
Brown trout caught in a freshwater mountain lake at about 7am, knocked over the head and pan-fried in butter immediately for breakfast. There's no taste like it!
Trif - glad to hear it! You couldn't be a real Babbler if you weren't.
I do think you have to have a certain sense of humour to survive in the chog here.
i agree jac.
Having said that, it probably depends what time of your day you play.
Does anyone have a clue for the em 7/36 word please
Trif - what were you agreeing with? I was a bit post-happy there and whittered on a bit.
Min - old-fashioned word for shops.
em7 ... a store ...
FIREWORKS!!! woot woot and thank you jac, and google!
It is the plural of a word for store.
Well done Trif. *~*~*~*~*~*
wtg trif
to survive in the chog, you must go with the flow,i am talking food now,in ten minutes i might be streaking the chog.you never know;0
Congratulations Trifioso on fireworks!Hooray for you
Fireworks
Congratulations wht on your fireworks! Good for you
Congrats, Trif and wht.!!!!!!
Hello gapeach1066! How are you? Welcome to the log!
Sreaking, Crossy? It'll be a first for me if I spot you doing so. When I was at college in the 70s when the craze first started I never saw one, but heard about many.
Does anyone have a clue for the na 9/54 word please?
*STreaking
Hi there Min. Is it cold where you are?
It is a fancy word for swimming pool
Min - I just clued it. It's a word for indoor swimming pools and rhymes with the Italian tr9 word.
Yes it is.We had our first frost the other night. All my flowers are done for the year, but no white stuff yet.
we have had snow on 3 occasions so far:(
I had to bring two in last night and covered the mums with plastic for tonight.....rumored to have a hard frost.
we have had unseasonably "warm" for around here and my fuschias are still blooming like crazy
Thank you for the na 9/54 clue. I just found the word
Oh, wow, crosshair.
Speaking of being cold - why do Gas company engineers who come to servie your central heating system always think they know better than you do when they re-set everything? We were bloody freezing until we upped the thermostat again etc.
y/w Min.
*service
Hello mcurlschool! How are you doing?Welcome to grid
we keep the inside at 68f
not doing to bad today. granddaughter here and she's arguing with the Wii!
We also had to re-set the water temperatures and reset our timings for the day's heating.
mcurls - she's argueing with the Wii? What game is she on?
once it drops and stays below minus 2 c out we just keep it at 68 till spring thaw
Wii Music and it won't give her the instrument she wants......LOL
mcurls - Oh, I see. LOL
when it is -20 and -30 in january it feels nice and warm lol
Good night all. Have fun adjusting your thermostats and clocks tonight.
Night wht.
ah yes ty for clock reminder wht
Goodbye wht! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log!
it's hard to convince her that not all instruments are meant to play every type of song.....
Crossy - don't Canadian thermostats allow for the extreme below zero temps?
We have an extra hour to finish the grid tomorrow. I hope it is a big one. Got nothing else to do tomorrow.
they do jackula,we just set it for the temp we wish and leave it alone
mcurls - what does she want and what's she trying to play?
Oh, okay, Crossy. Sounds like what we do, except for engineers interfering.
She's in the "jam" session mode and the song she's chosen is swan lake! and she's looking for the flute as the melody.....isn't an option for that section (just the harmony part)....She is so funny; I wish I could broadcast her "recordings"
whne we had a wood stove,we used t o just toss a chunk of hickory in the firebox when we got home and we were all set till bed time;))
Ah, Swan Lake.
ahh i miss the simpler things..;)
Lol, Crossy. Sounds like the old British cry of 'Chuck another fire leg on the fire, Mother!'
*chair leg, I meant.
she loves this game. Can't say that I find it to bad myself. It has a big variety of songs, types of music from classical to hip hop and rap. It's fun to see her discover songs that I learned as a kid and she thinks they are fantastic
Swan Lake is my favourite ballet.
It's break time now....the question posed was "do I have a cup cake, a cookie or both?"
I think my Beloved is getting me WII Fit for Christmas. Does that mean he thinks I'm FAT??
cupcake
looks like she went for the cookie
he does not think you are fat,he just want you even more foxy than you already are;))
OH no not fat. I have Wii fit and I play just for the "fun games" to heck with the work out stuff.....couldn't get into some of those yoga poses if I tried!
no ... he wants to play some game himself ... but he can't buy it for himself ... it wouldn't be cool or manly ... so he says it's for you ...
LOL, you lot.
evening all
believe me; the "fun games" on the Wii fit and Wii Fit Plus are more of a work out than the work out sections.
Hello Barb's Horses! How are you? Welcome to the grid
dosteffing - So, he is going to be using it for a while to 'show me' how to do it, ishe?
I am hanging in there Min...and how are you this evening?
howdy barb
we get to laughing so hard at each other that we can hardly play the darn game
ahhh ... you've seen this before ...
evening crossy
mcurls - if any of the yoga poses involve standing on one leg with one arm in the air, I will probablyu end up in a heap on the floor. If they involve being double jointed at the hips, knees or ankles, I stand no chance!
I am doing well Barb's Horses. Nice to see you here. I haven't seen you here in awhile. Hope all is well w/you
C's Completed! 5 left
howdy dose,i see you are a survivor as well;)))

Yes I haven't been in a while...just live got in the way
whoo hooo, it's my turn to chose a song, instruments and play.....brb
We had so much fun with WII Bowling. I kept beating him, which I can't do in real life bowling, and, after a lot of red wine, he accidentally chucked the numchuk at the TV screen.
ina -gadda davida by iron butterfly:))
I FINALLY got that em7/36 word. 4 more words to go
go min
Min - just ask if you need a clue.
I like to get my last few words on my own, but thanks
Fortunately, re the WII numchuk on theTV screen, it didn't break, screen or controller, we were on holiday, so it wasn't our TV and it was therefore funny.
T's Toppled! 3 left
May I please have a clue for na5-10? Thanks
did he not have the wrist strap on? lol
Min - when I first started Babbling, my Other Half would bumble in to look for words when I was not on the PC. I could cope with that, just about, but when he found my last word when I'd left one for later, he then found out that it was like ripping the last page out of a book or worse. He doesn't interfere with my grid activities now, unless I ask him to.
na 5/10 word is a standard monetary unit of Nigeria.
Thanka Min.
Crossy - no, no wrist strap 'cos he was red-wine-infied at the time. LOL
I hope you can co 4/6 cluing from the Penalty Box Jac

I'm with you, MP!
Thanks once again, Pini.
yw, ga
however, in the last class period I did manage to insert that I was wearing it because of your work, and that an AIDS widow made it. Some of my students think that AIDS is an airborne disease... *sigh* so much misinformation.
LOL yes, but your name is ABOVE mine!
and Nancy Boy is tied with us, too! *rolls eyes*
i think that is alphabetical

i'd stick my tongue out but i fear what you would do with it
* standing defiantly *
does anyone know how the timing of the flip works with daylight savings?
* giggle *
probably the regular time...
...and then you'll have 25 hours to finish it
I think the time change happens "officially" in the wee hours of the mornin'
I was thinking about that jafro and since the flip is at midnight central time the extra hour comes later
huh????
probably be big when since i am flying tomorrow
This puzzle will flip at midnight since daylight savings does not start until 2:00 A.M. I think this is correct.
i agree min
me too min
(I think that's what I said, just not as succinctly)
well crud
