nice grid - BBL for more
I'm afraid I'll probably have to skip this one -- haven't had any time since the flip, and tomorrow will be really busy -- Grey Cup party and such.
And now it's bedtime -- so hi and bye, my babble buddies, have fun!
hi all just a quick look then back to bed for me
hi Barb, I'm about ready to give up for the night
I fell asleep really early and now I am awake...but need to go back to bed. Nice to see you flosey
nice to see you Barb, have a good sleep

good morning! nice, big , snowy Sunday grid!
Morning ruby it is a good juicy grid for a Sunday isn't it.
Much snow?
about 6 inches but very cold
def need the chapka today!
how are you, FM?
and is anybody else still here? Have all the US nite owls gone to bed?
warm and cozy here and thankfully snow free.
COOOOEEEE
I think they are all hibernating.
yay Evening lynxxx :)
our house is not warm so I just wear layers and layers, look like the Michelin man
{{lynxx}}
hello
he crystalle
from the cold to the warm - what temps have you got lynxxx? Hi crystalle.
lynxx is probably basking in the sunshine!
Its been raining the last couple of days - going to clear up to moderate temps this week
hi Crystalle
it is hot here.....Western australia hi lynn
rain is good for the garden.
Hot, now there is a lovely word :)
and, I think, for Australia in general. That awful drought of several years seems to be over if the chog is any indication.....
Our lawns and nature strips look like emerald green velvet - such a change from recent years
you were due a break after such a lack of water.
The West is not as good yet - hear some farmers are sending their stock away for grazing
or using that Babble word - to agist
lol
yes the drought is still bad here
yes the drought is still bad here farmers are struggling
where abouts in the west are you crystalle?
do you have water restrictions in town Crystalle?
im in perth
ah OK.
yes we have water restrictions we have 2 watering days per week and eeven bore water has restrictions
we also had the same restrictions all winter
That sounds pretty serious. Thinking of Aussie babblers, haven't seen Sandyloo for quite a while now, hope all is well with her.
Yes we have just recently come out of 3 years of water restrictions - still some in force - which will probably never go
Sandy might have started building the new house perhaps
The ts6/18 and 8/40 would be a word that would be appropiate to this conversation.
Morelikely has PC problems again.
yes, I miss her!
psst 2 ts6.18
I thought that ts6 was Yiddish!
trouble and strife aka wife
the ts6 I have is Yiddish but didn't know there was a 2nd ts6

ty for the ts clues!
i hate ts words lol
ah thanks lynxxx
Hi diz
hi Diz
Hey FM and all!!!
I guess there are so many ts's because it's a translitieration!
hiya dizgrannia
Sheesh some parts of the UK have had up to 16" of snow and it got as low as -17 in Wales. All very unusual for this time of year. Just been listening to the weatherforecast if you hadn't guessed.
that is amazing weather for the UK; I guess I shouldn't complain
got your wellies out?
how lovely a white christmas!!! i would love a snow filled christmas day!!!!
No need for me, so far .... but they and the thick socks are on standby :)
uh oh, thumper is out and about! see you later
lol bye ruby.
and she's not talking rabbits
If he was a rabbit she would probably put him in a stew (sorry Scrabs)
Heading back into the grid with (hopefully) fresh eyes.
stew, rabbits - getting a bit close to home!
back, he was just building fires! hahah
he'd be one tough old stew!!!
I've got down to 100 but the words suddenly seem harder to find
sorry lynxxx didn't think about the connections there.
sosrry lynxx, {{your stew}}
did everybody get the nifty gn6? rare for me to find such a word
I did!
yay lynxx
ruby that is the g I am missing :(
gn + sounds like what might be on the driveway
wow - are you up to G already
unfortunately, I do this at random -- all over the place, which is why I rarely finish

Might take a break too - bye for now
me, too, bye for now
Hello, all.
hi Christine
Oh, hi -- I thought I was the only one here. It seems I signed in just as everyone left.
I don't know if you will remember a conversation we had about importing fabric. But I did end up getting upholstery fabric from the US - 15 yards - and it only cost about US$65 to get it to Aust....very happy
Wow that sounds like a real bargain. What will you do withit, where did you buy it, what pattern/color is it
Reupholster (not me!) 2 clubs chairs. Site is Glamorous fabrics. Butterscotch background, bone & brown geometric pattern on top. Wait for it US$13.50 per yard.!! They have markdown s quite regularly
Just realised - 15yds for$65. is only $4plus per yard, and that doesn't include shipping. That really was a great deal.
No - $65 for the shipping - $202 for the fabric ...but as its original price is something like $150 per yard - cheap!
OMGosh - I was about to re-cover everything in the house.
BBL
testing?
nastier
Hello Hoot. :-)
hi Soodle - just realized it's been an hour since I last saw anyone
I assume that was a slip of the fingers, rather than a description of me....?
That was me forgetting where I was!LOL!
LOL. Yup, the chat is remarkably quiet. Must be all recovering from Thanksgiving.
yup
I'm not finding this grid one bit easy.
anytime I go to bed and haven't reached 1/2 way - I know it's a problem. This is my second round and still haven't gotten to halfway
I gave in with 83 to go, and listed.
Hello, again
I'll list when I'm thru the whole grid. Haven't touched the a, l &d and just started the n's
Hi Christine. :-)
hi Chris
I'm kicking myself for listing.... I missed some pretty obvious ones....
Oh don't - especially when there are so many of the same letters - your brain can't sort them out
a rest usually brings peace.
Thank you Hoot! I feel better now :-)
and I find that the obvious ones are missed because our brains recognises them and then dismisses them as found
and I won't mention the ones babble throws away when you turn your back....
glad to help :D
I know...thats always happening to me. I could have SWORN I put in a word.... and it vanishes!
hoot, you are doing a wonderful job as6/18ing the situation
Hi LittleBit
hey soodle
why thank you! hi littlebit
hey hoot, your welcome!
and i'm off for now...bbl. happy babbling all!
That sneaky little E in the top left-hand corner has caught me out more than once....
Bye Littlebit.
Soodlebum, do you find Babble removes words from your list, and when you try to re-enter them it tells you you've already entered the words -- they're no longer on your list, but you can't re-enter them ... aaaarrrggghhh
byr littlebit - was off reading your prfile
I do, Christine. Its very aggravating. I start wondering if I'm going bonkers!
oh finally I'm convincing people I'm not crazy! I usually have them accepted and then when I go back - it;s gone!
Perhaps we can get a group rate on a home for the Babble-ized, when Babble finally pushes over the edge -- a restful plaace, making baskets & petting tabby cats.
love it!
**pushes us
And Cabana boys...... lots of cabana boys!
Well naturally
pure heaven but BF objects to cabana boys
And on that note, I must depart. Bye everybody, have a lovely day. Poof
bye Soodle
And I must back to the grid!
If he's not Babble-ized, he won't qua;ify for the resthome, and won't know who's fetching reeds and cats for you.
But I can't leave him behind
so I guess I can't go myself
Can I hide him in a closet ya think???
Bring him along, we'll get him some magazines.
You should see the look I got when I read him that! If looks could kill.... We laugh alot
Good morning!
Morning Brookie
Hi hootowl!
Oh just hoot - we're not formal here :D
LOL. Hoot it is.
Except I don't like the name Chris. I've always liked my name ( except when I was 12 and decided to become a nun - Sister Monica !!).
All the "Chris" names sound nice to me. I didn't like my name for the longest time because it rhymed with "uk".
My son-in-law is named Christopher, and his Mum and I are the only ones that don't call him Chris.
Ha! does the fact that I don't use my real name give you a clue? So your real name is Monica?
too many Cris's would tend to confuse I'd think...
ohoh - I'm getting to the bad, bad typing stage!
No, I thought that'd be a good nun-name.
aaah - I see...I think
Sister Monica is a good name.
it does flow
brb - need list
morning all
Morning Dan.
Hi Dan! Hi Molly!
Mornin' Brooke
morning all, s in right colum and e in upper left are giving me trouble
Me too Peri.
Good morning, peri! No clue on that e, either.
got the s, sodium for use at the table but pl
s in right column, plural of another sa word
morning babblers
Hi nono! Hi bichon!
got one of the e words, spelling of a letter of the alphabet, pl
the e is pl cons. sound
nbt
Thanks for that clue!
Hi all. Good morning
wtg peri
Thanks for the s peri, and a big DUH to me for not seeing that. I had the e you mentioned. Still hunting and pecking for the other.
yw Molly
Oops, the e you and Nono mentioned.
Morning Bich.
molly they are both sort of the same one a 5 letter
I don't get it Nono. I have the plural consonant, that is five letters. The other is the same?
the other is 4 letters molly
so it is, thanks NoNo
yw
Got it, thanks Nono
By the way Nono, I student directed a production of No No Nanette in high school. Every time I see you about, I start singing the score in my head. : D
molly the story behind my nick goes something like that :)
my college nick was nono, so thats what I started using on line. Some one that I use to chat with said it always reminded her of that musical so I became NonoNanette
It's kind of an obscure musical. I'm always amazed when I discover other people who know of it.
I remember seeing it when I was a kid, my Aunt took me to see it on Broadway
bl
I'm totally babbled on the as 8/45. Anyone?
Good morning everyone
it is a past tense bichon
hi ((Mom))
((Nono)) good morning
doh, ty NONo
oh how I dislike AE words
mom they all work of the ae4 today
thanks nono, I did find 3 of the them
I do too, but there's More Words
make sure you do pl of both the longer ones
Hi Bichon, might hit that up if all else fails
Solidarity Mom. I'm no fan of ae words either. Especially long ones.
((Molly)) good morning. Solidarity!
My second least favorite are e words and there are 15 of them today. Aaaarrrggghh.
oh geez, there are :-(
By the way all, Cos is going to be very put out that Santa is not found in the dictionary.
lol Molly, yes he will
its a proper name Molly
satan isn't in the dictionary either
Technically yes, but when you use it in a sentence that speaks of department store Santas it almost makes it a common noun as well.
I've always found it creepy that if you shuffle the letters in Santa you get Satan.
i know mom, I am forever trying satan over and over again whenever it is in a grid
:)
good morning, everyone. I see babblelonia is back to normal.
oh geez and 30 A words.
Hi ((TO)) how are you feeling?
morning TO when was it not normal?
But I do like that if you shuffle the letters in scared you get sacred. Nice balance.
indeed Molly
last night. troll attack. i emailed dr god...seems folks no longer know how to go into troll mode, new folks need teaching
oh, from what i've heard they have been in evenings as of late, glad i dont come in then
well chat was totally unusable. I had not heard of that type of attack
seriously, troll mode hunkering down drill is needed
Please explain Towl
I haven't encounted any trolls in ages but when i do I just close chat out
#1: email Dr_god. #@: don't feed them.
Cherry Trolls are those that come into chat only to disrupt things
and this one was smart enought to put the complete word list in chat!
if they are ignored they will go away, but if people tell them to knock it off or what ever it only gets worse
dont try to reason with them, don't admonish them.
hi all you who snuck in while I was gone
oh no hoot thats really bad
I think it was a waste of brains on his part
and if the barrage gets too much, dont chat at all. institute radio silence.
*sneaks in while hoot isn't gone* hi everyone :o)
hi dfm
Anytime school is closed they show up. Like they have nothing better to do.
the troll crashed my browser seventeen times la4 night :o(
And where are the parents???
hi Nono :o)
hi dfm
what did you mean by "that type of attack", TO? what was different?
good morning Dfmchfhf
rule #1 is to email dr god with time & scren name
how did they crash your browser?
hi hoot, Mom :o)
Wait, hold up, how can a troll crash someone's computer?
<-- custom browser, memory leaks and bugs aplenty.
as hoot said
But that's not a troll, that's not using a stable browser.
by constantly posting entire word list, her system could not keep up only thing to do was close chat out
sheesh.
probably gonna use Firefox from now until I fix that, though... and fix most of Javascript running on it... >.>
ltns hursh
well, it crashed firefox twice too.
what's ltns? haven't encountered that acronym before.
long time no see
ohhh, well howdy!
Now before I submerge again I want to say thank you for the ae words!
time for me to start my day ((Hugs)) to all of you
how many ae words are there please?
5 ae
i have 5
i think 5, 4 using the short one as a prefix
bye mom, hagd, ty df
bye Mom have a great day
By Mom
bye bye ((TO)) enjoy your day
bye bye ((NONO & Molly)) enjoy the day

thanks, welki and hurshy
thanks, dfm...got the 3
on a different note, watching a show here on huskies and malamutes.it boggles my mind how many of these beautiful creatures end up in pounds or crated all the time because the owner tries to make them a indoor lap dog and is somehow surprised with it does not work and it is bad for both the dog and human
crossy, it makes me sad to see a very large dog living in an apartment..they do not belong there
same thing with basset hounds, believe it or not .. people expect couch potatoes, 'hush puppies,' but they're hunting dogs and need to be exercised
indeed:(
absolutely
i guess it's the same with all dogs, regardless of breed (or breed knowledge) ... dogs need exercise and stimulation regardless of where they live
thats why i applaud that dogs 101 show that is out now, a person can watch and learn the traits and other information about many breeds
agreed
I once knew someone whose dog refused to go on walks... o.0
how many gn words pls? i have 4 and its plural
i've loved all my dogs, but those rescue bassets hold a special place in my heart
3 gn
now that is rare! i i used to have to do is whisper the word "walkies" and all hell breaks loose
t y found it
lol crossy ... yep, having to spell it, "Hon, taking the dogs for a W A L K .. " and dreading the day they learn to spell *LOL*
Many twisty words today!
it was weird, because he'd run around the house energetically... and then as soon as the door was opened he'd hide or sulk in a corner...
welki, my friend had to say WALK in a different language and then the dog understood that word too
wonder what traumatic experience he must've suffered outside :o(
and they do start to understand! it got to the point where we were just saying "W" and the dog knew! so we started saying stroll, hike, outing walkabout, diversionary pedestrian travel ..etc lol
or thought he was being taken to the vet where he was badly hurt
*will put "walk" into translation program*
We had a dog and the magic word was POND. We have a house on a pond and she used to LOVE to go there! we would have to spell it so we could get ready to go and then all we had to do was say "pond" and she would get right in the car!
but all that did not matter, the second that leash so much as moved a 1/4 on that table by the door,he heard it lol
oh, they know how to play us, don't they
smart dogs
once you learn to follow their rules it gets easier
then we switched to cats, now we have been reduced to mere servants with opposable thumbs lol
have you experienced a Catsplosion yet?
i have a cat, too :)
I'm frightened...catsplosion?
sounds
ominous
that's when you forget/neglect/don't want to neuter/spay your cat, and don't know that someone else in the neighbourhood did the same...
oh no,we always get resuce kittes so they do not get put down..have never had that problem
Oooooh! In a way, yes! I work with an organization that traps ferals then spays/neuters them and releases them.
We, of course, find homes for those we can.
and the one we had way back that was given to us,we had fixed after the first heat
we do not care to add to the feral cat problem in this area
bye all time to rest
bye TO :o)
Owl, Feel better soon.
TO...feel better and keep us posted. Let me know if you need anything.
we always have rescue cats, even brought two back from Hong Kong with us, many years ago.
hi xe
and it is a great deal also, you rescue a fine kittie,it is fixed, dosed for fleas, given a total check up and all you do is pay 75 dollars..what could be better?
their names werent pumpkin and blackie?
cool
seeing kittens every three months! :o)
They were!"!! Hello sis
The ones that I have adopted are sooooo grateful!
perhaps you may want to get the breeding cat fixed?
hey you how u feeling now?
I think in Ontario now you have to either get your cat fixed or get a license...
do u get the same puzzle as me? xeiluj
we fix to ease the pressure on the pounds, that is voluntary, the liscences are mandatory
cats need to be licensed in calgary and must not be found at large, same as dogs
but do not just sit there and let them pump out kittens every 3 months:/
we all get the same puzzle i think. I am up to 119 words but running out fast
At least the vowels move right along today!
neutering is voluntary .. but all rescues from animal services are fixed before they're adopted (ane we have a free spay/neuter program for low income folks)
hey i got 19 lol
we are very vigilant here as the current ferral population is sitting at roughly 450 cats, and many of us on conjunction with the humane society and 2 local vets are catching the females and fixing them
Good for you and your community Crossy! Well done!
it is a long road...
the owner is a tutor/teacher though so the kittens are usually gone really soon... and what is awesome is that the mom housebreaks the kitties herself :oO
Absolutely! I've been working with this group for over 15 years now!
you and your group will get there i am sure;))
We are well into the thousands now!
once all the kitties in the pounds are adopted, then we can think about breeding again;))
I agree...if any one of those kittens isn't spayed/neutered in turn, then it just keeps going...and going...and going....
since we have a no kill policy it takes time
We only put a feral down if it tests positive for AIDS or Leukemia.
only those with medical reason that demand it get put to sleep
same here
heck, right this very moment in the cat section we have a beautiful male russian blue! or did,may be adopted now
Doesn't it start to get a bit crowded in there? :o(
i would take him myself, but we try to stay at 2 kitties at a time
we have the adoption rate matching the incoming right now dfm and we are gaining ground
good afternoon all
along with fixing the ferrals,we will get ahead
howdy sprite;))
hi sprite
Dum dum, doodledum, finally fireworks for Soodlebum!!
yaa for soodles!
gratz Soodle
hi sprite :o)
congrats soodle! :o)
Thanks guys!!

Hows the weather in Holland, Spritey?
wonderful for the time of year. It is freezing. Clear skies, sun, and no wind. If we could keep this till end of March, I'd be very happy :)
biab, must go soap down this mass of muscle and get presentable to the world...semi-poof
Oh lovely. Its snowing heavily here.
I don't like snow much. Well, I love it when on holiday... but in towns and cities it is just a mess.

Hello...

Sprite! I'm doing well, thanks! And you?
hi jellen :o)

Hi, dfm :-)
Ugh! Hate being ill, with nothing to do but wait it out...
Glad you're feeling better :-)
hi sprite.. hi jellen
hi ruru :o)
Hi, ruru!
yeah it isn't fun. But part of being human. Hello ruru.
if you wash your hands all the time it really helps to fight viruses unless you have little kidlets around then its impossible
I haven't have a cold in 10 years and the flu only once in ten
OK...back....doggie accident....yuck!
gm dfm
adolescent kids too, they bring home ugh viruses. It is all up to resistance. Since mine is low, I am fair game.
hi car, yuck indeed!
Hi, car
aw sprite... sorry
nah, don't be, it is no disaster. Just very impractical. How is today's grid, any fun?
<-- usually has nonbacterial/nonviral coughs about once every 1.5 years :o(
(making pot of tea and toast with butter for all "sickies")
it is fun.. lots of well hidden words though
Lots of twisties!
oh lovely, car and ruru. Just what the doctor ordered :D

OK...so our "Elf on the Shelf" came on Thanksgiving night.
The kids had been singing "Jingle Bells, (insert name here) smells....etc.
Now I am hearing "Jingle Bells, (insert name here) is great, Mommy is the best"....
grin
And such kind words are being exchanged in front of the elf!
smart kids!
My favorite though is when I "catch" them telling our Elf what they would like for Christmas! It is too cute!
lol
that's cute
how old are they?
8 (next sunday) and 6
aw great ages.
Still very magical!
Oops! Gotta run...overstayed my allotted time...
??
Bye Jellen! Have a great day!

will try and be there more often, Jellen!
I don't know if I am sitting in pews or peius

jilli might be busy now :( Would be great to have her joining us.
... and snarky kje and pam.. and scrabbs
ok, you are redeeming yourself.... but there still must be others
jilli's been partying sprite
kje and pam and scrabs too....
and Trif
oh.. found an 8
wtg ruru
thanks,,, you had to point out the 8's,, and now i had to find out there are 13 of them?
sorry.. most of them are easy.. except three
i have recently diagnosed arthritis of mythumb and tendonitis as well. typing is not that easy for me... have to do it in dribs and drabs if i want to get better
with this many a's, s's, r
oh...
oh Dorens, that is awful. Am so sorry.
e's and d's i expect they can't be too hard
thanks sprite... could be much awfuller. in the grand scheme of things, et al
I think I am getting arthritis too
.. this growing older is not what it is cracked up to be...
hello
i thought arthritis would be more stiffness... i have some where bones have been broken, etc... but this is just pain. particularly when i try to use my hand!
gm Phaeton
hi phae.... and ru, consider the alternative!
true, Dorens, but that doesn't negate what it means in your life. I hope it will heal. Be gentle with it, drink lots of water and keep moving, but carefully!
Just reading what you wrote Dorens...I have a pinched nerve in my arm, makes my elbow and lower arm ache and gets numb...
hi phaeton
probably a hot tub would help
A quick hello before I go into town to shop.
seas
I can relate to that, phaeton. Very painful :(
sorry
hi Scrabs, we were just hoping you'd show
Ty for that clue, phaeton
ty sprite, good advice... hey scrabbs! *been hottubbing, ruru, for sure*
yes it is...having trouble finding something to alleviate the pain
Aging is not for the timid.
both are inflammations though, ruru... adding heat isn't always wise then.
age, phae, .. my problem was that ibuprofen wasn't helping... on celebrex now and it is somewhat
yayyy Scrabs, good slogan.
been icing it too, sprite... it did help a bit... in terms of numbing it
Anyone seen Owl?
noticed she was on yesterday, but not when i was
Can't take ibuprofen...trying acetametaphin(?)
haven't seen her, sorry
Acetaminophen does not have an anti-inflammatory effect.
maybe not, but it seems to help with the pain
Yes, it will.
scrabs, your eye all cleared up?
Optic disc hemorrhage has resolved and no further problems have occurred, but vision is annoyingly blurry.
god.. we sound like a group of old ladies
I have lidoderm patches...that seems to help somewhat
except for you, ruru, we are :D
for how long should that be, scrabs?
Well, ruru, do you have old man issues?
especially you ruru!! LOl
yay another 8.
just my right knee
but you're still tearing up the tennis courts, yes?
Until the brain adapts to the floaters and the torn tissue "settles" in my eyeball.
will that clear up soon, Scrabs?
ah I see. Patience needed!
yes.. I have been playing better than ever lately..doren.. I am not sure how I turned this corner
I have floaters all the time scrabs
Hello everyone!
I haven't played tennis since March--burned out and focused on hiking + mtn biking. I will start snowshoeing + XC skiing soon.

and an icon, dfmchfhf. It is Red Planet Day today, if you need inspiration.
How do you enter a flag?
I'll be there Dorens!
has there ever been a babble cruise????
if you go pro, Mark Jones, you get a profile, including flag and icon possibilities.
wow, now that is a great idea, MPittore.
Mind, you wouldn't want to be in Shropshire at the moment. Coldest part of the country at the moment, I was told.
And fireworks for me.
How do you go pro?
wouldn't that be fun? Would we have to bring our spouses?
zooz! You quiet lurker! Great to see you and wtg!
quiet but smug zzoozz!!!! {{big hug}}
zooz! I didn't see you there.
good for you zooz - did you get much snow
ruby! Bad girl!
congrats Zooz!
of course, rubyfoo. Either the romantic setting will make it wonderful, or you will have the perfect oppportunity to get rid of him.
bad dog!
\(^_^)/ cheers zooz....
Thanks, All :-)
hahahah
Kazzer, we have had snow on and off but nothing has settled :-)
it's snowing again here
We haven't gotten snow yet. Hahahaha!
those Rs and Ss just doesn't seem to end!
Hope it is not too bad for you, Ruby.
Max acts like it's the first snow he's ever seen -- he's only 7!
its been clear and sunny but quite cold today -was in Exeter shopping
Are you in the US Mark?
don't, not doesn't. Jeezzz sprite.
I don't mind, it's better than rain and mud
same as here, Kazz. Great weather!
Yes I am. Midwest, in fact. No snows yet.
OK, let's guess, where is Mark?
ruby... dogs are the happiest people on earth!
Illinois
Snow is nce to look at but horrible to be in for any length of time.
Good guess rubyfoo.
nice*
especially autistic ones; everything is a new experience
Way! Finished the R words!
Carbondale
brava, sally!
depends, zooz, on what you need to be in it for. Having a snowball fight, making angels and snowmen is fun. Then back inside for hot cocoa or spiced wine.
woot Sally! I still need 2 more.
When i was younger, Spritey..then i agree..not now..LOL
snow angels.....soft memories
hehehe I was born old. But I can act crazy if I need to.

bye for now, MPittore.
Take care, MPittore.
{{MP}}

I hope you take this as a warning, Mark. I mean... "Gotta get to work on the grid." See how serious this can get?

Thanks for the notice. I may use it
ok _ i am halfway so I am going to go start my day... good luck all
Ha! dfm has acquired a flag.
in case of dire need, I prefer a2z. And for the definitions that aren't behind the question marks, there is nothing like infoplease.
yay for dfm!
now what is keeping the icon, dfmchfhf?
bye DR
Take care, Dr 1965
I can't update my status because it need personal info;
you might need to refresh, sprite :o)

Pini, if I hold the hen, will you pull the teeth?

dfm...where's your icon?? * tapping foot impatiently *
Pini, it is there.
I need a hint on gn
*sneaks in and hugs sprite* *relurks*
You need to refresh pini
gn4 = small flea like creature
* refreshing *
ah, the famous gn words. Musquito and kind of rock, if I remember correctly. Will check.
Already got that one and plural. Need one more
and plural
gn6 is a type of igneous (I think... or maybe metamorphic?) rock
why it surely is; congrats again, dfm
yep, rock: a metamorphic rock, generally made up of bands that differ in color and composition, some bands being rich in feldspar and quartz, others rich in hornblende or mica. So now you know.
mornin' stid!
stiddieieieieieie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *majo r hug back*
{{sneaky stid!}}
gn6 = gn + K**th Richards + dbl pl
stid! Almost missed you ;oP
Thanks Pini! I found it!
yvw ;)
Maybe I can start giving hints.
good job Mark. Remember it... it is almost a babblet, lol. Imagine adding -ic. Also valid in some grids.

I am "okay" zoom. dealing with panic attacks again and not enjoying it much
it did, didn't it! The man is a chef for sure. I am ok, been ill but nothing serious.
otherwise, I think I will go ahead and continue in the master's program (the source of the panic attacks) and see what happens
glad it was nothing serious, sprite.
fabulous match in London -- so far, Nadal and Federer one set each!!!!!!!!!!!
oh my! sounds like something to watch?
you will do great, stid. Email me... I am an expert on panic attacks ;)

well, off with me as well. Have fun all. Thanks for making me laugh!
I was going to take some pics of the weather last week, but the SD card in the camera totally didn't work and I lost them all. *bummed out mama look*
Take care, Spritey :-)

See ya sprite
Not good, Stid :-(

Good going, Mark.
For four days, its pretty good.
Ok time for me to depart from the grid, take care, ALL.

I'm well! How are you, Mark?
I'm fine. I have 73 words, but I'm just a beginner
my first 'hmm' wasn't about the mystery.. but about the f
'friend's church'
You have more words than I do at the moment. :)
How many?
moment being the operative word there... LOL
I'm also knitting Christmas presents, so I'm quite distracted.
72
oh.. I really should get some knitting going.
I'm studying. Don't judge me...LOL
yep. I should be knitting too -- about 1/2 done with the elder kid's last year bday present... *sigh*

I'm 12. I can't knit.
*hugs and choclits for all* see you again soonish
bye stid!
Bye stid.
see ya Stid
I taught myself to knit when I was 8. so 12 isn't too young
I have other things to do other than knit, like actually find words in the grid.
and studying. .. what are you studying?
For my Health quiz. Fun. Drug categories!
i am stuck on a di 7 - the one before the di4 which means to put some one donw
they teach drug categories to 12 year olds??
Unfortunately. We have to be "educated".
None of us like it. We like sticking to gym.
many kid are involved in drugs before that age, m9. From working in schools, it's quite sad.
categories like: analgesic, antibiotic..etc??
I don't have it yet Kaz.
No, like steroids, depressants, narcotics, etc.
or.. hallucinagenic.. date rape...etc?
Oui.
2) di7/32 = same first 3 ltrs of previous di7 + take a **** (plop down in a chair)
then pl for the di8
got that one
thanks
thank you Pini!
I don't understand
the 1st 7/32
1) di7 = illness
doh - thought i had tried that one - thanks
yvw ;)
ty!
m9, what are you knitting?
Clues PLEASE!
for which Mark?
socks Magyk
Anything. Preferably an r word.
or at least will be when start a new project!LOL
ok. ri5, lariat
Mark...are you using Lickety's List (a link found below the grid stats?)
Mark, if you look down below the grid, under Friends of Babble, you will see a link to Lickety's Babble Clues, where you will find a list of the first two letters of all the words and their points count. You will find a lot more words if you use that, at least at the beginning.
I started a pair of socks. Got one done and decided to take a break and make a hat before I started the other one! haha
GMTA, Sally...was just writing the other half of the suggestion...
ah Magyk.. that's why I had never tried socks before! Then I saw a friend knitting socks.. and she knits them both at once! on one set of needles.
So now I feel like I can do socks.LOL
I use circular needles and knit them toe up
I've seen that but have never had the gumption to try them myself. Is it difficult?
no counting stiches or anything!
I looked at it and couldn't figure the thing out. I'm not good with technology.
I don't think so. and there are visual tutorials on the net.
Anybody watch Star Trek here?
Do you know how to copy and paste? If so, it's easy, just copy and paste the words you've already found (under your My Word List) and paste them in the box at the bottom of Lickety's List and press Bulk Add...it's all done for you.
are you a trekkie?
I'll have to try!
yes do Magyk!
I am a big trekkie. I have every episode from every season including DS9
have you read the books?
Right, fireworks at long last. A real mammoth today. See you all tomorrow.
wtg sally
wtg Sally!
when my son was your age, if we went in a new library, he'd declare it a good library if it had a trek book he'd never read before.
2nd di6, plz?
I am not much for the books, just the shows and movies.
then he'd get the book.. read it about 1/4th the way and say "oh... I guess I have read this one before" LOL
ah.
fave movies?
Don't have it Pini. Sorry.
me either
Of course. I like Shatner too.
singular of previous one
thx Magy...I'll circle around and come back...maybe I'll see it later...
but do you like his singing?
di that is
I'm not sure. Never heard him sing.
oh you're missing out Mark!
Bye Pini! And I'm not sure I want to hear him sing.
shatner? hehehehe ... rocket man
youtube his rocket man.. or his duet with that young man...
?
(not leaving, just moving on thru the list)
did you take a drag on your 'cigarette' before saying that welki??
100 left....taking a break...back tonight...
did you see clue for di pini
well done, mp
Oh. Sorry pini
ty pini....later all....
it's ok ;)
Shatner singing is a painful thing.
no, kaz...scrolling back...
no, but i think he's a pretty good match for the dad in that new sitcom, s*^&* my dad says (i think that the series would be difficult for anyone)
I think Shatner is a stitch...people take him seriously and he is so comedic
I knew it! Now I am not going to watch him on youtube.
I love his novels though
Those are good.
He laughs at himself....smile
I love watching Shat... he is obviously having SO MUCH FUN!
I agree m9
loved him in boston legal
of course tambourine man is what a real trekkie should see.
What's tambourine man?
I remember going to a church talent show.. and the young women were all wearing trek shirts.. and it took me a moment to realize they were lip synching to tambourine man.. the main girl did SUCH a good job!
a song he did way back
If only we could all look at ourselves and see how funny human behavior can be....it is so interesting to me...sometimes I get such a kick out of myself and I'm not being stuck up I just do hilarious things if I stand back and look at myself....others too are a real source of a good belly laugh! A fine thing fior living longer and healthier!
hey!...... mr......tambourine....man!
that's why I love kids so much!
I am too young for some of these things.
Mark...do you have any 8-tracks...and a working player...?
can't figure out the singular, kaz...another nudge?
Has anyone found a nine letter word? No, I don't believe so.
Mark...do you know what they are???
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0hTtsq iFCc
No, not really.
I have all the 9's
clue the di9 plz?
change the last vowel for the next one in a list of them
Yes please.
dis se6
got it! thx!
It's ok...I was just having a senior moment...just think when you are my age everything will be new again too....
I don't get how clues work here. They confuse me.
it takes practice, mark...just keep trying
I think it is cool that you are just in middle school and babbling with all of us...very groovey!
in the jingle ..... jangle... morning.. I'll come following you!

Mr TamBOURINE MAAAAANNNNN:!!!!!!!

oh yes! let's do trekkie clues!
ty Kaz!

re9 is futile (just change the end a little)
yw
oops should be light than air, plane
Mark....remember..." it's the cracked ones that let in the light!"
Bye guys. I have to go have lunch. Thanks for the clues. See you later!
see you Mark - we will be always happy to give clues when you need them
Bye Mark....<(^v^)>
that's a groucho marx quote right?
I think that's who's credited with it he said "bless the cracked ones for the let in the light" but others have glommed onto it and tweeked it etc...it's a neat quote I like...
*they*
do you have a blog by any chance that talks about knitting? and gardening?
me?
LOL.. i went to look up that quote the way it was given here and that's what came up.LOL
Hi everyone. Have to get in on this knitting discussion. There's a great site I just discovered: www.ravelry.com(?). People do projects and send in their results and comments.
I have a ravelry account.. never get on there!
I love ravelry!
no but I can knit, crochet, most hand crafts in fact thanks to my grandma and mom...and I thoroughly enjoy gardening and have a pretty nice one...pond, fish, plants, sculptural things....
I even have a really neat garden at our campsite...won a prize even! I love pretty things!
I've gotten so many good ideas from ravelry. Right now I'm knitting a cowl for my mother in law who lives in the windy cold. It's such a pleasure to work on that I'm making one for myself after this. (so many plans!)
I've thought about starting a knitting/baking/gardening blog but am unsure.
ok gotta run... later......
I love gardening too. I think a blog can onlhy be a good idea. Even if no one reads it, which won
i can do all of these things but have no time to indulge them if I am going to babble
*won't happen) it's a great way to put together all your interests and find the essential impulses that hold it all together.
I'm on ravelry everyday. You should find me. Magykknitting.
Of course I am a fan of writing as a process, so that's the way I think of a blog, though I know there are other ways that a blog can be rewarding.
Thanks Magyk. I will. I'm tworose there.
Bye MP!
this blog I found is called "Librarian-in-Training"
definitelycould have been a Babbler!LOL

wtg pini
Hi Bichon. Now actually, Spring has been rather rainy now that our drought seems to be over at least on the East coast. The weather is OK thru to the end of April with usually only a few days of very high temps. Then again our winters are moderate too - you need to go up the mountains to find snow
Congrats Pini!
congrats pini! :o)
wtg pini !!! ~~~ !!!
well i am down to 41 and am hoping to finish before i go to bed
Wanted to hike hut to hut in Tas and go to the barrier reef
di 7/32, first one?
di7 = illness
ty Pini didn't see it in time
Very nice plan and both Tasmania and Queensland are the best for tourists I think. You should maybe plan to see some of the National Parks in Qld like Daintree too
Sounds delightful
halfway done, woot
How long will you spend down here Bichon?
en 7/28, there are two of them

Guten Tag, fellow babblers. Has someone a clue for re 5/10, right below where you pay and before you life without the e.
need help, nan?
hi inge ;)
pl re4
Thanks, wht a stupid oversight.
* smile - been there, done that *
hah! thanks.. i didn't have it either
just found 4 more, this blistering pace i have set myself has made me giddy
just opened the list, and am amazed at what I had missed!
Say no more. I will list.
most of mine have been plurals, shamed to say. (uh-oh, i was supposed to say no more)
* puppy pause * (brb to offer aide) :o)
if i cannot get to 50%,i do not list.i tried to be tough and never list till the last 10% but that was a no go
i was downn to about 80, but too much else to do in my life today. wish i had babble expert here, a real time saver
i am not bothering with expert on this computer, the new build will make it obsolete when it is ready anyways
wife has it on our big computer though
i'm on a mac... no choice.... hopeful for the new "improved" site, but we shall see
oh yea..forgot people still use those macs..;)))))))
I got a P laptop so I could play Babble Expert
*PC
actually, i did get a little acer laptop, but it is so small i find it annoying... can't have more than one window open at a time... have to keep going back and forth.. and i did get it just to play expert... probably today is a day it would have been worth it, but sort of forget about it most of the time
is your mac one of those that has everything inside the display?
Hey, what did I do, Inge?
not sure what you mean, crossy
an all in one
with the disc drive on the side of the display
yes, i think so. (all except the keyboard)
I've been lurking here head down in the grid.
screen that is
so why hve you done anything wht?
yep, those are nice, but i like to be able to swop out my fans, add more ram and change hard drives at will
i cannot imagine opening up one of those mac screen;(
would scare cwossy:(
i am far more simple than that crossy... my needs and abilities are nowhere near yours
Inge said "Thanks, wht a stupid oversight"
that was her oversight, not yours
she meant: *what
they are beautiful looking things though and are great for drafting,auto-cad and video play back
oh, i see, wht is being funny!
wht did a funny;)))
I finally figured that out.
* smile *
yes crossy.. beautiful, and my desk is in my dining room (since that is next to the kitchen, next to the sliding door to my patio and woods...and on the rare occasions when i use my dining room as a dining room, it is more attractive
indeed dorens,i often see them in doctor offices and drool at the display screens
I have 132 left- kind of too early for me to list actually. Oh these rules.
and the size... i have lickety open to the left, and still have room for a nice big window for the grid and chat!! so my old eyes don't have to strain.
we make these rules for ourselves kap, but if you need to break them once in a while, we won't tell!
Never mind.
+ I'm telling you that adding an s to everything will get you where you want to be
I prefer the monkeys at this point.
much to be said for monkeys today too
ok, lickety helped me down to 20 left.... time off now.. see you later
Found some cool o words with monkeys- less fun if I hunt for them via lickety
I have 126 left though so I will not be listing any time soon

Hello anyone paying attention
D's defunct!
hi sadie
okay, it's been a crazy few months
helloo sadie
i spend far too much time in farmville and frontierville lol
hi pini
well done, judi ;)
hi pippin
supposed to be doing some work toward getting an awesome job and... here i am!
gotta have some fun though lol
of course, sadie
how's it coming along, pip?
all in my head, need to get some of it down on paper!
* wonders how someone finds a job via imagination *
that's the problem!
i had to look up a word today so naturally i thought of this crowd
* giggle *
saw no fewer than 3 restaurant reviews referring to the chef as a "toque"
E's evaporated.
is that good or bad?
well done, Judi
apparently that's the new hip synecdoche in reviews right now, to refer to a chef by the fancy name for a chef hat
i don't think i support it
interesting...
That's rather a stretch, pippingeek. I don't think any chef wants to be referred to as a hat. Next we'll be calling football players "helmets". I don't see it catching on.
it seemed a little odd to me
my suspicion is that someone did it and some other reviewer saw it and thought it was a hip fancy word and doesn't know the real meaning
that's what I was thinking...
Could be. In which case, the Editor should stick a fork in it ( or at least red line it for correction).
that's IF the editor even notices
True, Pini. One wonders if knowing English is even a requirement for journalism any more. Our state's one and only paper - "The WIlmington News Journal" is good for several cringes per day.
sigh. i so want to chat but this creative thinking test is not going to complete itself
I think it's actually run by a bunch of 5th graders.
i think the only smart solution is to turn off the internet for at least a couple hours
we'll be here when you're ready, pip!
and to think, judi, those jobs require college degrees...amazing!
and when i actually finish i can enjoy guilt free babbling!
(so they tell me anyway)
maybe even with an awesome job in a fabulous ad agency!
well, tell everyone i said hi, i'll try to stop in when i've a little work under my belt
okey dokey!
It really kills me, Pini. I have a high school diploma and a year of college. I still have a better mastery of the English language than the BA's and Masters I work with. *Major eye roll*. My boss always gives me stuff to proof read. Makes my head spin to see such remedial errors. And the man is 62! You'd think he would have learned by now.
Doesn't it just suck, Judi?
If you're interested in the preservation of the English language, you should join S.P.E.L.L., the Society for the Preservation of English Language and Literature - http://www.spellorg.com.
And for that I get paid thousands LESS!
Took me 22 apps to get on at the Uni I work at because they didn't think 30 years of executive administrative work wasn't equivalent to a BA...they keep saying a BA demonstrates dedication...HA!!!!
I'll join. Do spelling and grammar count?
(Not sure I can join, because I just masacred that sentence!)
Very much!
And you get "goof" cards to send out when you join - check out the web site
Alas. The self-learned are merely trod upon by the over-educated elite.
I will, Java. Thanks!
Over-educated people who forget their education...
Judi, you are beyond being correct in that statement

oh good lord! How stupid can they get?!
monkey, i see plenty of stickers saying "save your sack"
what's next, are we going to see the slogan "Save your poop chute" to encourage people to get a colonoscopy????

hi Pini
hola pinikula!
...once you get more into the swing of the game and the cluing, you'll be able to figure out clues for the bigger words...
I'll try, but those haven't been working for me either;
ok ae4/4 means the word has four letters for a point value of 4...
ty for the di9
I don't pay much attention to the point value...
Trust your elders, Mark...start small, end big... :)
I hate when age gets into this.
Sorry, but finding small words often gives you the root of larger ones...
I was trying to start you off with an easy set of words to get....don't get frustrated mark we have all been were you are...just relax and have fun it's all about playing the game not necessarily winning...
Fine.
I will try my best, but it hasn't worked out for me today.
Now, now, don't get angry...just jump right in and find what you can, attempt to follow clues, but have fun ;)
just look at the puzzle, type in the words that you see, and work from there.
se 7/32 please?
nm, got it
some grids are must harder than others.
compound luv, by the ocean
thanks anyway Eva, that's what usually happens, I find the word after I ask for the clue lol
I'm not angry, just a little upset with myself. But ibd, this grid has 272 words! It should be easy!!!
that happens, what I do is look at each letter in the grid and try to make as many 4 letter words in any direction first, then I go thru and try to plural those maybe that can work for you.
it's a moderate grid. for those of us who have been here forever, for newbies it might be more trying
Mark, remember you're a youngster...keep playing and it'll get easier and you'll impress your teachers with an increased vocabulary. :o)
Well i am a newbie.
sometimes I look for other endings like "ed" or "ier" to add to the words I did find...I just keep typing which we call monkeying...
Mark this is one of the larger grids...so it's not so easy...you are doing fine...
I'll try pini, but in the meantime i need to take a shower but then i will be back and hope for some luck. See you in about 20 minutes. Bye!
first or6?
Take your time...it may help you look at the puzzle more positively.

Goodbye MPittore! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
When I saw the Babble st 5/10 today, I knew I would not finish.I did not finish the grid, but I can't re6/18 doing one of my st7/28. So I thought I would be an as 8/40 and as6/18 with a story of clues. Hubby di 6/21 Babble every day. He does not give one io 4/4 about Babble. It ir4/4 him when I Babble for hours. He really doesn't like huge grids that make my babbling time la 4/4 for hours. But his Farmville also la5/10 for hours. The more I babble the na 7/28 he gets. Hubby always st 5/10 up trouble when I am babbling. Hubby drives me insa4/4 sometimes with his Babble remarks & the nasty looks he se5/12 me.But I find happine4/4 when I Babble though. Sometimes I wish I could just to 4/4 him out. Sometimes I wish he re6/21d else where so I can Babble in peace. Hubby wants the computer. If I do not surre4/5er it to him,he'll cause a ri4/4. Now I am going to go st5/12 up and ri4/4 out of this se 4/4 and go ne 4/4en the kitchen and then I'm going to go downst 6/18 and watch a movie I re 6/18 I re 4/4ed. Then I am going to reti4/4 for the evening. I'm outta here for the re 4/4 of the night. See you all tomorrow
My monkeys are getting nowhere on the ts's. Any clues?
t + gaping wounds
then change last vowel
then dbl center and last cons
ts 6/18 t + aches
Oh lord wht....I am still in the s's

Hey min. I'm doing fine, thank you.
got it pini! May not get to scrabble tonight tho'..
They won't allow the devil. Darn...
yw, Jilly...no worries on the game...take your time (I'm thankful I'm checking on it more frequently!)
I could fall dead from all these s words. Grrrr.
ts8 is the last tx6 with doubled consonants.
I gotta go now, but I leave you with a story in profile
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow

night magy
g'night magyk

I just reached the 100 word mark! *yay*
WTG, Mark! On a puzzle this size, that's pretty darn good for a newbie!
Thx. Looks like the shower break has done me good!
WTG mark!!!
Hi Nef! Are you looking forward to work as much as I am? *tongue in cheek*
Gracias. I have been working on today's grid for a while. It's very addictive.
hi all
It IS very addicting, Mark. Be careful or you'll end up one of us! ;-)
Hey. How's the grid for ya?
By the way, Nef, how long have you Babbled?
Jilly, I am looking forward to work tomorrow. Especially if my dtr. manages to do part of my laundrty along with hers! (She lives in our basement; I'm not doing too well with st 6/18 right now with a pulled groin muscle)
Hello all...
hi hellen, how goes it?
jellen,not hellen
Fireworks!
dur
hi jellen, TNC, Nef, et al
go girl!
It goes pretty well, TNC, thanks!
Mark, I've been Babbling over 5 years.
wtg jellen ;)
Hey jellen, how's it going?
YAY, Jellen!!! WTG!!!!
hey pini
Hi TNC
Good, Mark
hey nef
I have been babbling for over 5 years, too
Wow. You people are really addicted to this game. I will try not to get hooked.
I started right after Crackers was born
it was easy to do while he was sleeping on me
Mark there is no escape. resistance is futile
Hi Jellen
go pro, go pro
Don't go all Star Trek on me. Were you here for the Shatner conversation this morning?
change the ce to a cross and you get re9
*hypnotic voice* "you love babble, you love babble, you wil go pro, you will go pro.."
LOL! "Resistance is futile" indeed! If you like word games this is the best one online (IMHO)
no I actually don't usually play grids this big, so just popped in to wave at some friends
*waves at dan2*
tthanks pini
Hi, Jilly
Jilly, I can't go pro because I don't have a credit card number. I tried, but you can't enter without it;
*Waves*
bummer
Mark, you'll just have to either get your parents' permission or hold out until you're older.
NBT, finally
*Sigh*
well done, TNC
thank you
WTG TnC!! I have 33 left...all the t's ... pie break...bbs
I have 220 left - smirk
If you just started, you will get past me easily. 166 left *frown*
yes, but I have 5 years on you
so I konw the goofy little workds to look for
or words
and know - my typing is why it takes me so long
Again, i hate when age comes into this. I have only done this for 4 days! I'm very sorry if i sound schizophrenic.
not a problem ;)
It's not age, it's experience...
you're doing fine for four days and 12 years old...
right, jellen
Mark, just keep plugging away. And on a grid like this don't forget to try adding an S to every word. I miss so many plurals on large grids so many times it isn't funny
Four days of experience!
yes, what jellen said. i played for 9 months before i finished a grid.
I had no idea you were 12 - good for you!
my internet is slow, so i'm not really chatting much right now.
hello, everyone.
i'm in and out, as i'm scrubbing the bathrooms while i play.
hi dc
ewww yuck
Thanks Nef. I've gotten five more words already off of that.
hi dc. Come clean mine whiole you're at it! ;-)
dcs, that is too much information. My teen sense is kicking in here.
Hi, dc...
LOL Nef. i've been working on the one in the back. Egads, it needed it. I don't use that shower -- had no idea.
Mark, i'm in and out, away from computer when scrubbing :)
been waiting for shower to dry to put stuff back so i can get the floor cleaned.
Mark, I wouldn't have guessed you were 12 either. Don't let this frustrate you too much; I always frustrate myself by starting huge grids when I don't have the time to finish them. I try, but sometimes life gets too busy
I will learn how to finish it in time.
* adds her name to the waiting list for dc's bathroom cleaning service *
i was proud of my for finding the ae9 all by myself
I'm not sure that I want you in my house. No offense, but that would be a little creepy.
I can't find ae9.
red alert
so, my two children who were practically killing each other 20 minutes ago are out in the living room being best of friends -what the heck!
I do much better at finishing grids when they are less than 225 words. I like grids that are around the 150-225 word sizes. They usually are much quicker and easier than either larger or smaller grids
can someone clue babble god?
Off to make report...
what the hell was that?
wow!
troll
Shall I email?
can somebody please email Dr. G? I lost his address.
hiding chat for now

This is such a nice place...it makes one leary of all newbies...
especially as of late...
:(
Sorry. I got lost for a moment. Weird pop-up;
If we were mean to newbies or ignored them; I could understand (sort of) the bad behavior by the rude ones. I wonder why this one played and posted like that?
We get those from time to time mark, very irritating...
I don't even know how to do that. It seems so mean.
I think there are those who just think it's funny to figure out how to annoy others...
quite so, pini :/
bbs
It seems so stupid. This person found the words. Couldn't they be happy with it?
<-- taking break for now, too...
It does run in streaks. Most of the time if there is someone like that in chat; I just shrink down my screen so they don't bother me
probably used a script to find it, I'd bet
i am pretty sure bablerox is not a child and i am pretty sure the person who uses that name has been doing the same as gamewrecker
I have to go to bed now. School tomorrow. Very ironic, pini. Bye everybody!
a script? What do you mean dfm?
See you Mark!!
Good night, Mark. HAGD tomorrow
I could hack together some javascript or maybe even an extern to parse the grid and find the words... sort of like how Lickety does it, except showing the full word instead of clues.
hi everyone :o) and bye mark
Hi dfmc!!
Hasta la vista
i use crystalle in a couple of games and i told dfm about cobradragon when bablerox was in here then when i was in cobradragon there was a new player called cobrarox and was just as much a pain in the bum!

Sorry, crys, that your good nature has been so abused by a troll. And hopefully Dr. God can keep this troll pest from continuing to create accounts for the purpose of spoiling the chatlog. Me, I just switch over to "who's online" when the troll attacks begin.
dfm is pro!

Hi dfmchfhf :-)
I knew some one would ask.... it's Canada's equivalent of the Super Bowl
football?
on a smaller scale of course, but still the final game of the football season . Yes :-)
Okay, I never thought that Canada had their own football leagues, I guess. Now I *know* that hockey is big there; just never thought about Canadian football
see you all later when the flip comes. I havent finished but i give up! have fun all and good luck
one league, CFL.... with east and west divisions.

*sneaks in and hugs seain* hello all
hi, stid :-)
hiya stid :)
hi stid :o)
Hi stidmama. Just coming in the first time for several days. Good dinner?
howdy, dfm, see you went pro. congrats
what part of mars is that dfm?
hello, stidgmere :)
ello Mother
Hi dc et al.
yes, it was okay -- except there was sausage in three of the four dishes we ordered, so I couldn't eat many things.
hi, stidgmere :-)
I think we will stop going there. It's getting too dangerous.
Oh, sorry.
did you see the parade on TCTV?
No, not yet. the TCTV had some sort of report about air particulate and health issues.
Polar, winter dry ice melt
ick. I don't see it listed on the website, either.
neat, dfm :)
also, missed saying hi to you dc ;oP
apparently i'm weird for having glass trashcans in the bathrooms.
very cool dfm
have you met my mother? Mother, this is dfm
Hi dfm, nice to meet you. So you are a new pro?
hi stidgmere :o) yep ^.^
We do enjoy the chat and the grid.
wondering if it's time to list with 105 to go
Wow, dc. You haven't listed yet?
I took a nap when we got home... about to turn in again. *yawn* of course the energizer bunny child is still going strong. Nothing like performing to get him going!
And only an hour left before flip.
I am down to 117 and listless, but fading fast
Hi stid and stidg. How are you guys?
i only started about an hour or so ago.
not bad nef, you? how's dh these days?
I am rarely listless but of course I am using the word in a both the Babble and descriptive forms.
Dh is doing very well. I'm calling him my "Miracle Man" because he'sback using a cane most of the time again. It was just 5 months ago that we were told he'd be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life
good for him! and for you! that is a lovely development
LOL Mother!
that's wonderful news, nef, and speaks well to his determination :)
his thinking isn't back to normal; but his eyes are better than they've been for the past 3 years. No more hallucinations either
stidg, I love your play on words! :-)
hallucinations??? I didn't know about those
oh, yeah. That was back in August I think. I thought it was maybe related to the temporary blindness? I don't know
I am glad they are gone now
me too! It was a LONG summer!
wow. I hope they don't come back. I think losing eyesight is one of the hardest things.
we use our eyes so much
he had both the optic neuritis (which is related to the MS) and also corneal edeam. They think the corneal edema was a side effect of a med he'd been on for 20 years; believe it or not. It came on suddenly and out of the blue; it took a few months to improve
hello all. does anyone have a clue for the first di7?
ah. I see. I know meds can have sudden adverse effects, just seems bizarre when it actually happens. But glad it is improving
(BTW, I meant edema, not edeam)
an medical affliction.... di 7/32
thanks for that one diane! down to 107

Hello -- the right team (Montreal Alouettes) won the Grey cup and the party was great fun.
*smiles at jill* well done alouettes!
I'm losing it; not even to half way and can't see any words or stay awake any longer. Good luck everyone and Happy Babbling to you all! :-)
We enjoyed it too, jill... close game !!
sweet dreams nef! have a lovely week ahead!
good night, Nef... sleep well
stuck again. the first or 6/7 anyone?
It was cold here, but that didn't seem to bother the fans !!

Wasn't the game in Edmonton, Diane?
not sure if it's first or not

evening, jilli
yw seain
yes it was.... close enough to "here".... we are about 15 minutes east of Edmonton
nbt, btw -- got that this morning but had no time to say so ;-)
stid--that's the second or6; this one's or 6, 21
first one is mineral and chemical ending
ah yes! that is a babblet -- always makes me think of french fries
Oh -- thought you were in Calgary, Diane. Anyway, I suppose you were rooting for Saskatchewan -- a well played game,
thanks diane

sorry about the typos. very tired tonight

our group was split... had a hard time pulling for the Riders, after NOT cheering for them all year... but still, the western representative ..
very well, stid -- and thanks for the reminder -- I have to send the recipe to two people.
yw, creeta
I was the ONLY Easterner, diane! But they were very nice about it.
I'm not going to finish... I'll just chat :-) Many long words in this grid
I'm so glad, jilli :-)) I'm sure you would have been the same.
I'll never finish -- a mere 225 to go, lol! No time tomorrow either -- a funeral in the morning and bridge in the afternoon (changed from the former Monday night bridge)
go jill go! LOL
oh -- sorry about the funeral
and I have to play the piano at the nursing home in the a.m.... it's been a long day here and I think I'll grab my book and head to bed.
A good friend's mother, stid.
sweet dreams diane -- see you again soon
diane -- what are your pies about?
night night everyone.... I'll be here some time tomorrow
sadness, jill.
g'night diane
LOl... no reason... I just put them up for fun.... let me see.... can I think of a theme ?
nite, dc
Yes, stid, sad indeed, but it was time. My friend had been vising her twice a day for years, and watching her decline in awareness, and eventually in health. She was a lovely lady -- i never met her but I heard a lot and she had brought up a great daughter and son.
diane -- so you know about the icon themes? There's a list in my profile.
very sorry to hear, jill
I know how that is, jill. hard to watch that decline, but does soften the death a little. Or has for me.
This friend has many other things to cope with -- her sister has severe MS and now has liver cancer. Her husband has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She herself has post-polio syndrome.
Yet she never complains and is always eager to help others.
oh my. will add them to my list, jill -- for whatever good it does.
Besides, she's FUN!
Thanks, stid.
hi all
hey jmc
hi jmc
Hi jmc and jilli. Just one word short of 100. Surely, I can find one word!
struggling jilli?
evening, jmc
go mother go!

think of red-twig dogwood (genus name I think) OS 5/6 combo
red-twig dogwood?
Hi gmere!
just googled it. never seen it nor heard of it.
as opposed to brown twigged dogwood?
yes, there is a red-twig variety and a yellow-twig variety that are shrubs and used widely in landscaping around here. pretty winter color
Yes, well, I got the 100th word on a to 4 which looks like bread that has been browned but lacking a vowel. Good night to all.
here dogwood is an understory tree, not a shrub, so who knows
WE had re-twig dogwood shrubs back east
well done Mother! see you tomorrow! *hugs*
bye stidmere
here also seain -- not the same type as back there, but a nice bright spot on the margins of clearings in the spring and fall
g'night stidgmere
it says they can grow here. I guess they're just uncommon around here
night gmere -- that was brief!

almost as bad as me, jmc! I just haven't had time today.
i have been sulking for a couple of days
aww, jmc -- why?

then why go?
no choice really
hubby dead so he can't go
I was just going to ask can you avoid it in future?
i avoided it for 2 years because my mother was elderly but now I am stuck
the rat! he gets out of going and you are roped in.
your kid can go... dinner with the grandparents. they love that, right?
exactly stiddie! the Bas****!
maybe you have an important meeting that day...
that rather sucks.
lol hard to work out a meeting on thanksgiving
why don't you like them, jmc?
you can have a meeting with me, eh? we'll meet online so you don't have to travel, but no way out of it.
for years i avoided it by spending it with my friend susan at homeless sholters but she died the year before my hubby
Oh, the meeting could be in Montreal -- no Thanksgiving there in November.
we'll even have witnesses. usually 50 or more people hanging around lurking in our usual meeting location...
that is the sad part jilli -- i do like them except in a large clump
ah! tres excellent jill!
good plan jilli!
hmmm, that's a shame, jmc
for a while I dealt with it by meeting one of them on boxing day and another on christmas eve but then they started invitig the world and we were all right back at the immediate family gathering of 60
Yikes!
*shudder* I don't like big family gatherings...
I don't like any group bigger than 10-15
sadly i am not exageratigin
down to piano keys and my eyes are hurting.
the three sisters (my mil and sisters) and their cousin and all of the descendants
piano keys?
Oh, that business meeting in Montreal is sounding more urgent all the time
see you-all the next time I can get away from being responsible. *poof*
and Montreal is such a lovely city
g'night stid
to top it all of I went into the common room at the hotel and one of the cousin descendents was singing a song in support of no control on hand guns -- hunting I get hand guns *shudder*
bye stiddie
night stid -- good to see you
<-- shaking head sadly
i live in an open carry state. *shrug*
I live in Canada *smile*
so I asked if she had a song about the two brothers who got into a fight and one killed the other because a gun was handy and .... well.... the conversation deteriorated
go you! :)
good for you, jmc
a good retort but not conducive to family harmony
and the night before i got into a fight with my nephew the marine (I called him gutless)
neither was the idiotic song
you were likely correct about that, jmc
true jilli i did n't think of it that way
so I have been going to bed with jack instead of babble
babble is better sometimes
and they are not mutually exclusive
usually jilli but i was so angry i did n't think i would be good company
lol dc true so true
babble can soothe
it didn't help that wedsday or thursday jacula chewed my ass for random reasons
well, take jac with a grain of salt, or tune out.
i tried as I think jac is a good person who occassionally unintentioanlly lashed out
so anyway that is my tale of woe
lower right S?
I think Johnnie Walker (or somebody) makes her lash out.
plural of table sa4
indeed so, jilli
i suspect you are correct jilli
jack just makes me maudlin
top left e?
hi.
es + plural
plural of S
hi herin
more than one S, jmc
hi again everyone.I am 14 mins too early
hi, herin
Hello...
Howdy
hi jell
nbt
hi, jellen
and that is probably all I can expect for tonight
JM the saying today for me Is I will try being nicer when you try being smarter. Stupid people are driving me nuts
golly, I guess I won't have time to finish -- only 182 left now...
228 left :-D
good saying herin I will meditate on that
im gonna use that too herin
Serious issue with stupid people today. Like banks that don't even have the knowledge on were to find their TOC on line
my favorite librarian expression is: your lack of planning does not constitute my emergency
hi crystalle
okay i am heading to bed since I need to finish a job application tomorrow
hi, cristalle
I like that
*waves madly*
Bye, jmc
can i complain about stupid people tooo??? i was at coles the other day and i aked the lady behind the deli section for some ham and she asked me what it was!! Then she ended up giving me silverside even after i showed her what i wanted
The other one I like is 'you seem to have confused me with someone that cares'
I feel better for having dropped in
glad to hear, jmc
Awww big hugs JM
how can you work at a deli and not know what ham is? Unless it is a Kosher deli
then i asked her for roast beef and she actually asked me what animal beef comes from!
sweet dreams, jmc
bbbb-bye
bye jm
lol crystalle *poof*
wow, crystalle. that's rather shocking
i know right...she was all of possibly 15 but it seriously made me wonder what our high schools are teaching the students
Crystalle I don't mean this in a bad way but was she of um non Aus back ground?
no from what i could tell she was australian
made me seriously consider changing my kids to private school!
