197 words, i've only got 50 and i'm now struggling.
youre telling me. i've only got 27 and none of them are over 5 letters.
Thomas, there are many very strange words tonight
My longest word is only 5 letter also.
i only have one seven letter word and nothing larger yet
these grids seem to get more and more difficult each day. which is probably why i rarely get on here anymore
Now got 52 words and one of them was 6 letters.
im just making up completely ridiculous words and are seeing if they work... so far no luck
managed to pick up a few earlier trying that.
that's the way to go gel - just keep monkeying
haha i just got one.
ive got lag , its not entering my words
happens at this time every night gel
but you will get them
54, only got 143 to go, just over a quarter through, and i've only got the easy ones.
odis
Thomas, do you have lickety's list?
Sorry, typed in the wrong box. Wasn't a word anyway. You can by that effort how desperate i'm becoming.
clue for the di8 please?
flosey - no, but my partner has subscribed to it many months ago.
di8 is plural of di7 - chemical, a type of ether
does that help
hopefully! thanks
the 6 is just minus the last vowel and both words can be plurals
aha!
thank you, thank you!
yw lov
flosey - 65 words now. Just got the four relating your clue below for 'di....'. Many thanks.
well done Thomas
yvw
I have 8 words left but must get to bed, busy day tomorrow
75 now, i cannot believe there is still another 122 still to go. Obviously not as bright as i thought.
goodnight and good luck to all
really, Thomas, so many of these words you would not hear every day
and, there is also Morewords, are you familiar with it?
I think Morewords.com - you put the first 2 letters of a word and add --- to make up the number of letters in the word
as in Tho--- for your name
sorry, th---- for your name
flosey, thanks for the tips. Enjoy your sleep. Might have a break and have some breakfast.
ah, are you from UK?
Yes, born in Scotland, now living in England.
ah, lovely
what part of Scotland?
Glasgow.
ah, dated a young chap from Glasgow - many, many years ago
married now almost 50 years
Congratulations, is that a diamond anniversary.
no, 50 is gold 75 is diamond
or is it gold?
Beat me to it.
Enjoy your sleep. I'll persevere for another hour with this grid.
good luck, hope we meet again
and thankyou, am sure I'll be asleep as soon as I hit the pillow
nite, flosey, just getting going here myself...
night owl that I am. :)
well, good luck rbud
and with that, I shall 'poof'
reading back, I wanted to point out that Lickety's list is free, and the link is under the grid, seemed like maybe Thomas misunderstood when asked about it.
it is the list of the first two letters of the words in the current grid, we mostly all use it
rbud - When my partner acquired it a few years ago she had to pay a subscription. I didn't realise the aid was now free. Thanks for the information, i will check it out.
anyone have the dr6/27?
lov3rgrl - just got it now thanks to your hint.
i don't have the dr6
lov3rgrl - think of the one that is least wet.
oh wow... brain must be shutting down. thnx
Morning all: Anyone want clues before I go housework?
yes, please. the di 6, please?
di6 and its family 7 8 7 are all chemicals with beef in the middle
some of them are troublesome chemicals at that
pr9 anyone, please?
see in the chatlog - old word for c**comb . Beef word in the middle again.
And a royal at the front
had the singular! thanks somuch.
yw
i have tried everything i can find with di and beef and can not get. more help, please?
joey - a word for two at the front then the beef word and then chemical ends.
what other animal gives beef apart from c** ?
norming all - that was a super set of clues - got a load of words of the back of them!
Hi Kazzer: lots of ancient spelling today
OMG, one help with the clue.... the beef is not spelled correctly. and I kept trying the other beef word, cow, until I realized that there was a second beef word
I just wish that I had put the co6 and co7 last of all!
yes and its a few more words today - which is good
have you got it now joey?
yes, I sure do. thanks, bunches
ok you will have a giggle at co6 and 7
Hi Kazzer - I just updated my profile.
i read - i love TP - am in the process of rebying all the books so i have a clean complete set

Good morning everybody. (((Rubes)))

grannie, are you far from the flooding?
husband saw Secret Garden for the first time last week and fell in love. Maybe it's his second (or third) childhood!
Has a new version been made, or was it the original he saw?
ruby, me is safe, we are in NSW, but dtr in Tasmania is feeling a bit water logged, not like the poor buggas up in Queensland
I don't know, as I only caught th very end. It was in color, if that's a clue. I read the book 100 yrs ago, but never saw the film
I have friends in Hervey Bay whose daughter is in Bundaberg and who have family in Toowoomba. It is really horrible!
Oh, my, what an absolute catastrophe in Queensland. It puts my Christmas burst pipe into perspective!
my friend sent photos of her local supermarket, all emptry
no, your Christmas burst pipe was horrible, just only locally horrible!!
40 litres of water a day is A LOT, soodles!
Tell me about it!!! But at least we are still in our home. My heart goes out to the poor people who have had to leave their homes and 'stuff'....
I think the "stuff" might be the worst part -- letters, photos, antiques
hey guys/gals...thanx for all your wishes that have been coming thro....Queensland needs all the wishes they can get...XXX

he is a very large shepherd with black velvet ears
hahah
ty demouse
yw
Actually , I should have put the inverted commas round MAN instead of Another Man............ This one is a four-legged 'man'........... (Desperately trying to save Ruby's honour....)

it may be too late for that!
I'm doing my best for you here, Rubes.....LOL

oops sorry about that
if I can ruin my rep at this age (and with these wrinkles), so be it!
must go and mke DH his Campari! See you all after lunch!
[100 words and nbt!]
Yep. Thats Daisy! AKA Daisy the untrainable! With the bad weather we have been having, its been hard to get her to do her business out of doors.
you could blame her on the washing machine failure
but she's hiding her mom's face!
{{soodles}}
Believe me - Daisy is better looking than me!!!

Just got a P 7 and P 9, both of which are clearly makey-uppy words.....

omg there are some very dubious words in this grid today
Anyone want clues ?
not yet but i would be interested to know what the 8 starts with xxx
di
Think I will go and do something else and hope that fresh eyes will help later.
ty scouser xxx
see ya lata mitch xxx
Hi froggy: there are four of them
The other day there were lots of birds in the g***: today it is fishes
ooh hi scouser - sorry was away from comp lol. four of what?

Morning all, Happy Sunday.
morning molly and happy sunday back at cha
morning MollyL
How cute, gr4/7 is in the gr4/7.
froggy: you are in the pb for g*** already
oh yea so i am lmao
Not to worry, before I said good morning I dropped a dozen bagels and a dozen doughnuts in the PB. Coffee is brewing, tea is steeping.
I have to get in there quick then - prefer weak tea
with some of the dubious words in this grid im quite surprised it isnt allowing inca lmao
yes dubious they are: I looked up definition of yo4,6
One of my favourite babble words is in the gr4 today yw4/10
Yes - Chaucher ho!
I wouldn't have a problem with dubious words if there was an acceptable definition. I have a problem with words that you look up, right here with the dictionary function, and it says "no definition". Like emfs yesterday. That was a joke.
oops that was meant to be Chaucer
yw4?? I didn't know there was a word that began with yw!
:) Morning Molly.
yesterday I did find a dictionary that gave emfs as a word, but I learnt it as three letters pluralised. You had to know what it stood for anyway.
Hey FM. That's what I meant Scouse. It's clearly an abbreviation.
Noun, 1. emf - the rate at which energy is drawn from a source that produces a flow of electricity in a circuit; expressed in volts.
And then having learned that bit, you had to hold your hand out with the thumb up and describe currents in wires. Cant remember which hand though. Yes Fleming's left hand rule.
sanch yw4/10 or it's alt sp iw crop up from time to time and very occasionally if we are lucky 'crwth' does too.
We need the crwth for a play on words.
Bet you didn't know you would learn Welsh when you started babbling sanch :)
I should have written that as w*r*s !
lol
There is a crwth hanging in the PB (for posterity).
Not likely to be an accidental mention of it in the chatterbox ?
LOL very true but I couldn't resist including a pic of one.
TTFN all
Laters scouser
Bye scouser.
Yes FM, but that definition is for the abbreviation for electromagnetic frequency.
Blue sky and some sun, think I will walk into the village and get the Sunday papers.
Sounds lovely. Have a nice walk.
It is an anomoly then Molly :(
Morning, all. Niggly little thing this morning. Stuck on the last di 7!!
Add a letter on the end of the di6/36
Good day to all. Finally a big grid. How is everyone?
that's the first one zoos
gm everyone
take away the second to last letter of the di8
Hi Jean. How have you been? Working? I know you were unemployed for a while.
you're a life saver, zooz! Thanks!
yw :-)
Hi everyone!
Hello, Scrabs & Jean :-)
Hello, Brookie :-)
GM Brooke.
I've been but looking for a better job
Hi zooz!
What type of job, esprit?
yesterday I asked for prayers for my nephew who was killed on friday
((Jean)) Good luck. My attorney sister has been unemployed for almost 10 mo.
OH, NO! What happened? I am so sorry to hear this.
Oh sorry to hear that, Jean.
So sorry, esprit. Will offer prayers.
Oh Jean, I'm so sorry. Prayers out for all who loved him and will miss him.
he is the NJ policeman that has been all over the news
only 27 years old
I read that yesterday! Horrible.
unbelievable
he is the son of my brother who committed suicde on labor day
Oh Jean, such sadness for your family. Bless you all as you struggle through this.
((Christopher + family)) I did not know about your brother. So much sadness.
so senseless and unprovoked
(((Jean))) thinking of you & family members at this horrible time.
Thug without any conscience or value for life.
exactly
Does Chris have a wife and kids? And, geez, how is your brother's wife? Shock, dazed, sad beyond words.
I just saw on the news that they arrested the guy
Chris was engaged to be married, his fiancee is inconsolable
my brother was divorced
It must be so hard for the loved ones of police officers. Knowing that those officers literally put their lives on the line every day.
((fiancee)) Such sadness.
I have lost interest in this grid. Please tell your family and Chris' fiancee that the sadness + anger is global and intense.
there is a memorial page on facebook, something like RIP officer chris matlosz
((Jean)) I wish I could help but it sucks and is unfair.
I will go there, Jean.
good morning babblers and hello to Jean - many warm hugs for you and your brother's family
Hi JBV. You are in the midst of your own grief too.
yes, Scrabbler, but this is so tragic - such a young man and such a violent senseless death
I am coping by hanging on to happy memories, of which we have many years' worth
I just told my nephew the story, Jean. He is 22 and lives with me.
it's just such a shock
Jean are you in NJ now?
no I am waiting to know the funeral arrangements
his fiancee and my other nephew were going to the funeral home this morning
14, 744 people have "liked" the FB page. Great smile that Chris had.
oh dear - she is doing that?
that is excruciating
I did it with the support of my brother and sister - for me that was the worst day
Chris will be honored by thousands!
as you can see, his appearance is a little unusual
he had alopecia totalis, started in his early 20's
at first he was pretty devastated, but then he learned to laugh about it
I noticed immediately, Jean. I have had several patients in my career with that. Youngest was 4.
my husband got it in his 40's, but he is not related, of course
this is going to be a hard funeral, so many young people, huge police attendance
Yes, I looked at photos--young buddies, his fiancee, the dogs...
the other brother, Jean - how old is he?
he is 25
Jean, I just read about him and went to the Facebook page, he must have been an amazingly loving man to have so many people love him. I pray Kelly finds love again.
134 people have joined the page in the last 10 minutes. His death is touching people far and wide.
how sad for him (your other nephew, I mean)
yes, my other nephew . . . it's too much, he is shell shocked
I imagine by now my nephew in Santa Fe must have heard about it too, I didn't want to mention it to my brother yesterday - too frightening
Too lose his father + brother--both unexpectedly--within 4 months is unreal.
yes, having someone in the PD and FD is always nerve wracking
and military
Jean do you mind if I share a lighter moment? may bring a smile ....
of course not luv, go ahead
if anyone needs a smile, here's one for you: I was going through my husband's old photo albums and ancient documents (elementary school report cards, etc.) and found out that he was the valedictorian of his HS (in 1966) - something he never told me!
I even found a copy of the speech!
that's something to treasure!
gee, I wish you hadn't said that - my problem is I treasure everything! and I have the overloaded basement, attic, closets, etc. to prove it!
you might need to get an objective person in there to help you do some clearing
Wow, JBV, such a humble man.
That was a sweet little message from him to you, JBV.
yes, Scrabbs, very interesting, he had a lifetime of achievements, but this was one he kept to himself - not sure why
yes, if it was my brother, he would have told you atleast 3-4 times a day
thanks, Molly - that's how I see things also
My mother was valedictorian of her HS class and she often reminds us and tells others.
good morning everyone!
and he went to a very big school - one of those old NYC mega-high schools - about 3000 students
my mother remind me often that I am only doing well in school, because it is a community college. Not like her, because she went to a "REAL" 4yr college.
((Jean)) my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
oh, gee, sue, that's not very nice - if you end up at a "real" 4-yr college it will not make a bit of difference in your life
thks mom and everyone
jean, how are you doing? You have been through the ringer also.
Do you have a good support group?
Hi Mom & Sue
feeling kinda battered
yes sue, I have good friends
((Scrabbler)) good morning
I know JBV, there are some people how have to drain other to feel good about themselves. But then there are those like you husband, who make other feel amazing. It is a balance
sorry, Hi all
just keep on your path, sue, you will be fine - I don't know if I was clear before, I just meant that in the long run, the school doesn't matter - just the degree, (unless you include Harvard or Yale :)
Hi Sue

hello everyone
hello everyone
hi Annie
((Annie)) good morning ....
gm annie
Jean, I wish there was more to say to you and to Kelly, but we know only time will help lighten soften the blow. I pray she lives to celebrate his love and that she finds happiness again. Please, if you speak to her, tell her how much others wish they could take the hurt from her, without taking the time she shared with him.
Annie, thank you for the letter, I will answer you today
Hi (((Mom))), JBV, sue, Jean

Yes, it is. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
jean are you the aunt they keep quoting?
have they left you alone yet?
yes, but now I know why people hate to talk to the press
yea, they will twist everything
they are horrid

NM -- jeez LOL
I just checked the garden and all the bulbs are up and peonies have started. Although it's nice to be warmish, it bodes ill for a floral spring.....
was thinking of the pa6/21
'morning, folks
ruby, my bulbs start popping up early every year!
hey, welki
phone
off to eat my cereal -- bbl *poof*
OK, une, I won't worry then
this just seemed unusual
bulbs up in january ... we're not even into the coldest part of winter yet (and it's a balmy -20 (-31 w/wind chill)) this morning!
it is very odd for here, especially since we had a brutal December, more than 4 ft. of snow
most of us here don't put our flowers out until the first week of june
my garden is mostly perennials
the snow probably insulated the bulbs and forced them
only the window boxes and borders get annuals
I don't know much; this is my first garden
and I cheat by putting geraniums in the ground around the edges
not many perennial flowers in this neck of the woods ... would love a native prairie garden, but not much room
we try to keep them alive in the garage to be re-planted in the spring -- not usually successful
brb
this is mostly roses, peonies, lots of bulbs in spring and everything in shades of pink, salmon, all reds, violet, blue and white
my neighbor has a lovely rose bush, and the nicest garden on the block, but she's home all day and has the time to pamper and protect her plants *jealous*
good morning. wonderful conversation to wake up to ... I love gardening.
when i was younger, i had a huge vegetable garden. did the 'earth mother' thing and canned, preserved, pickled and froze.
what is the best veggie to pickle?
now, my idea of gardening is hanging a fuchsia from a hook on the front porch :)
<-- is partial to pickled beets
me too!
grateful for a larger grid today, but boyhowdy, i'm just not seeing the words
co 5/12= if a pretty young bovine was putting away things in a trunk for her future marriage lol good morning everyone

i do not do the work myself no,i let those that know better do that
currently i own no guns.sold them all ten years ago
did you tire of it, or, just stop
was raising a family and wanted them out of the house for a while
I taught the family safety, and got a safe, my daughter likes it, but, is in a city now and can't unless we head out to a range, whcih is rare

not here in the burbs seaspray but sure is at the game
chows don't live very long, like most big dogs, and Ruby will be 8 this month, Max 7 in Feb, and it makes me cry to think about that
I know what you mean lillian... the last time I wore chaps.. jeez
Oh, I know I have had my Max for a very long time
GE - we turned on the game and hubby and i both looked out the window confused in unison
But did you wear anything under the chaps ru?
hi Good
guess that lake effect is working hard downtown
I forgot that you have a Max, too
I don't remember. ... it was a party.. and I was loaded
Well I hope the game goes your way if you are Bears fans, my ravens beat themselves last night
that was a disappointing loss sea
I wanted the Ravens to win too
very ru, I loathe the Steelers (sorry steeler fans)
rofl ru
leslie did you see that national anthem? I'm a huge howks fan so i thought it was great!
<--- not a Steelers fan
howk?
Big Ben makes me gag lol
we only get the other football here and (ugh) rugby
oh no i did not, just turned on about a half hour ago
I do not like either team
oops sorry ru. just a typo.
big ben is a creep
a huge creep!
rugby looks just stupid to me
i love rugby union ruby
just came back with lunch... what's the lead ruru?
2009 Foillard Morgon (Beaujolais) Cote du Py $28
I just saw an article that they have girls' rugby now....I wonder if they tear each other's ears off, too
it is freaking deliciious
and love it when we play against france in the 6 nations as my dad is from england but welsh and lives in france so i never know who he's going to support
sound delicious, but i'm trying not to spend right now... a good lead would taste like that but cost half!
hey ruru. i passed your tips on to my friends and they were very appreciative of the info!
i went to a wedding where the gal was on a college rugby team... they did the thing where they lift the girl up to catch the bouquet, very funny.
i love rugby union, its a bullish sport!!
hahah
I think in girls rugby they make fun of each other's accessories instead of hurting anyone physically
where in France and which football team does he like?
hahah ruru
oh great good.. hopefully they can hit one or two of them
my son was sitting with me that night we talked and was amazed at how quickly you rattled ideas off.
bbl nice chatting with you all
i alternate between spending and feeling slightly worried about the fact that i still may lose my job again.. public education is really taking a hit in nj now
good night seaspray and a big hug for your Max!
bfn seaspray
bye seaspray
okay.. try this one 2009 Duboeuf Fleurie Quatre $14.99
my parents live in the vendee and he always supports wales first
oh.. not again!?!
what were you drinking when you last wore chaps ru haha
we're in the mountains, but I like PSG
It was a western theme party and I went as a drunk Clint Eastwood
husband is not a big sports fan, however
yes... although i am tenured, and am the only counselor in the district, the board will have to make cuts again, and it will be an arduous process with them deciding where the cuts will be made
oh .. I hope they look in other areas doren
like maybe administration
it seems impossible that they would cut the only counselor!
they've lived there for the past 20 years ruby and love it and are trying to sell their house and move further south near the mountains
brb.. need to make mrs ru her next cappuchino
we've been here 13 years and love it, can't think of a more beautiful place
particularly with what is going on with middle school kids these days! they are talking about cutting administration

I didn't know gr5/20 is word. Is wine gr5/20? I can just see some snooty wine taster saying "ah.. but it's still gr5/20... it hasn't lost its gr5/20ness." LOL

Beginning of next month
Hi lynxxx and everyone...
ohhh sorry
No Leslie...got it while you were typing, am sure...
spent the morning volunteering at a race in the chilly rain. Not too chilly for those of you in the real cold, but for the south, it was chilly and wet
Can anyone clue the di7/52 the second one please ;o)
drop a vowel from the plural, norma
just lose a vow from the one before.
the 8 before that is
hy, champ, m9, LA, norma, TO, et al
hey dc!
hi DC
Thanx M9 and dc I have been looking for that one for hours
hi seain.
hello seain
Chilly rain working a rice is worse than real cold working a race, champ, as you need to keep dry as well as warm.
er, ...working a race...
thought of you while watching DDD- guy fierir ate at a south american restaurant near dc farmers market
truly...rather run it than volunteer, but you need to give it back. And it was fun...cold and all!
on, neat, TO, do you know which restaurant?
i would have to google it. i still want to go to that bbq restaurant that is famous
Can somene give me an I from the middle column for NBT? Por favor?
that's an i not an L
in 6/7 -- usually with an EN, meats no enclose
Oh, there are no L's.
well, to cover
in6.33 & 7 in & what you do to a present
in followed by what you do to a present
Thank you
I usually keep thing UNDER wr5.
no seain, i can't find it, it was guy fieri today. memphis taproom in philly was also on the episode
back and 10 to go...
it's a mexican-salvadorean restaurant
From Pork to Tofu Episode DV1101H you can watch at bing

ty lynxxx
thanks dc, how are you?
i'm pretty well, thanks, and you?
any day above ground is good...lol
bbl happy babbling my friends
be well, TO
bye Owl
by TO...
Seain: for four days i have not left the house. i am going to try to do so now
since I'm addicted to looking things up: Tortilla cafe.
I've been in the house for3 days because of lethargy.
I just went out to a funeral.
210 7th St SE # 1 Washington D.C., DC 20003
i have had enough of funerals. bye all
that'll improve your outlook...sorry kaplan...
sorry to hear, Kaplan
Of my daughter's friend's mother- I didn't know her, but all the funerals that have been important to me have been in winter, so it felt like that's just what I do...
I'm skipping a shiva call tonight in Western Ma because of my inertia. I SHOULD go.
Oh, that's near Eastern Market. I avoid things around there for being to o crowed.
But enough about me.
er, crowded
kap I'm with ya. went to more funerals than I could count last year. And at some point, it's more than you can handle.
how will you feel tomorrow if you don't go?
((hugs)) kaplan
Shivas and wakes can be healing...is it the same person?
No, not the same person. I know I SHOULD go. Now I feel moreguilty.
Sorry Kaplan, we are not helping...
ugh. don't go out of guilt.
I should have skipped the funeral and gone to the shiva.
I just think that if you don't go.. you should be ok with that.
Instead, I babble.
ALLOW yourself to be ok with not going.
if you can't do that... then go.
i think M9's advice is good
Missed my ride. It's a two hour drive- each way.
well then.. you can totally be ok with not going!
LOL
that should be a bumper sticker: "instead... I babble"
I think I'll just stay home and overeat.
no. don't do that!
babbling always good!
you'll end up feeling yucky.
"I meant to...but I babbled."
Kap, it's okay to miss one. In this case, it really is the thought, and prayers that count. Most of the time, the bereaved don't even know half the people at the service.
"Forgive me- I was babbling."
"This person tonight I should have gone- I wrote a letter- but I should have skipped the big one today.
True that, Molly, i know that i was unaware of 2/3 of the attendees at my dad's funeral, which included at least half of the people i knew from school.
"I do care, but I'm babbling."
Shiva is different. Moreintimate.
ewww... definition of the py5/18... "pertaining to pus; puslike."
ewwwwww is right!
Both of my parents died in January, but in the past...Sorry I am such a buzzkill.
I think that's why they have people sign a guest book. Still in all, I think it's the good thoughts and prayers that help the bereaved.
ah.. you're feeling anniversary blues.
Kap, like I said, given what you're looking back at, it's okay that you sat this one out.
Big time. Mom, dad and nephew.
You're not a buzzkill. It is what it is. Loss is hard, no matter what. I usually go to pay my respects. But sometimes, it's a peripheral person, so a card will suffice. Hard to draw the line, I know.
Not a buzzkill at all, Kaplan
it's not like we were buzzing anyway.LOL Looking up pus words....
I guess... you'd be a pus kill in this situation...
ty, i got the py from that definition. The joys of living with a nurse with issues around snot and pus.
I think that's why we're all here, to support one another Kaplan
ugh...not looking up pus words...going to pick up kid from cheer. bbl...good luck babblers!
In memory of Felice Yeskel: http://www.classism.org/
hasta, champ
Babble as shiva call?
lol...well, it functions in many ways!
bye champ
brb, phone just howled at me...gotta plug it in..
This is not a friendly gr4.
Sending prayers of peace out for Felice's family.
What a lovely telling of the life, Kaplan, thanks for sharing.
Good job Kaplan...I spent time in PB for gr4!

hi all
booboo!
if you don't like this game, did you like the chicago game?
So far, the most exciting playoff game has been Steelers/Ravens.
hi Boo
i agree Molly! that game yesterday was great! but I wanted the Ravens
chicago game was so one-sided... i like a close game
correction: I like a close, high-scoring game
well, i'm back in pitts tomorrow, they'll be nuts there .. big sports town
I wanted the Ravens too. I have no interest in any of the remaining teams.
yesterdays games were good

oh-oh. BRB
betty white on the golden girls
pini, are there leftovers?
there sure are, weiik...and I can freeze 'em and reheat for lunch (so the directions noted)...can't wait!
oh, gotcha, cos ;)
Pini, what seasonings do you use? I make something similar (Montreal Meat Pies).
OH! they're fried deep dumplings? i love these
dcsean, did you get work yet?
it looks easy to make
not as yet, weiik :)
Ingredients: ground beef, onion (I added whorsteshire (sp) sauce and a clove of garlic) and cabbage rolled up in bread dough to form a ball...
...then baked in the oven for about 20 minutes....gosh, they're good!
im gonna have to make this this week
(and that easy, too)
ok, back now from dog walk...
hi pav
what a lovely blue butterfly
thx pav ;)
what nice looking eye-candy you have there, pav... * wink *
hi all -- that's Worcestershire, Pini ;-) The recipe sounds great -- gooogle says they're deep-fried but baked is better.
I like the show...hoping to win something that'll afford me passage one way to Hawai'i with dogs in tow...
back. I heard a loud crash in the back of the house; thought DH may have fallen; but it was some folding chairs that fell down causing the sliding closet door to pop off
I put a similar mixture in small circles of pie crust. They are very good.
I knew it didn't look right, jilli...thx! They are soooo good!
oh, good news, nef
hi, jilli
* sigh of relief * nef!
phew, nef!
that sounds a bit easier than the (frozen) bread dough I used, molly
that's how I feel! Dh has been doing well, but today is tired and was napping
proud of myself for remembering the sy6 without clues. With a capital first letter it would be "a mountain nymph of Arcadia who was transformed, in order to protect her chastity from Pan, into the reed from which Pan then made the panpipe."
Hello everybody :-)
And Pini, that sounds good; I'm not fond of cabbage, but may try it without
oh, and with the leftover (i.e., other 1/2 of the cabbage), I found another easy-peasy recipe to make German Cabbage Beef Soup...dinner's going to be just as good...I know it!
Hi soodle
hi soodle
pini.. how do you get your animation to be animated?
Nef, you'd never know it was in there!
I found an animated pic in google, m9; you can see it move in the profile but not in the chog :(
cabbage - yummmmmmmmmmm
hi jilli and Soodle
i love cabbage, and sauerkraut
yeah.. but mine was animated on google.. and it's not in my profile...
<-- love cooked cabbage...there's just something about it...not sure what yet
i always make cabbage mixed with bow tie pasta... it lasts a week..
I love cooked cabbage too
that's odd, m9...
I've run into that a lot, m9
Cabbage - yuk. I think I overdosed on it as a child, and have had an aversion to it ever since...
oddly enough, I prefer cooked cabbage over lettuce salad...
Savoy cabbage stir fried or steamed is good
it was a .gif right?
same here, Soodle.
I like cabbage -- don't often have it because a head is too much for one person -- even half a head is.
let me check, m9
stores here will cut into halves or quarters if you ask, jilli
i love cabbage soup...and rolls...but not sour krauts..
I buy the smallest head of cabbage I can find. I cook some and use the rest in salads.
I find so many .gifs show here with a black background. I'm told that's because they're too big.
clue for ar 6 please
we can buy pre-prepared cabbage in smaller portions here in the supermarkets - but I suspect that means it has practiclly no vitamin content by the time it gets into the kitchen
do any icons show up animated in chog? I can't remember ever seeing any....
olly, all the cabbages in our supermarkets seem to be about the same size.
AR plus crime against God, plus roundy vowel....
sounds like talk show host Hall Boo.
they do on occasion, Nef...
Very rarely, nef -- who is it who has Snoopy snoring?
the first pa5/14?
spanish priest?
We can get pre-cut cabbage here, too, Glan...for making coleslaw
Somebody ( Can't think who) has a moving Snoopy..
Snap Jilli :-)
ty m9 that helped!
not finishing the gr4 tonight! Going to Zumba! thanks for the clue all. g'night!
i gotta finish this before the golden globes!
bye Magyk
bye Nef!! *poof*
12 to go here...
is my profile animated now?
Anybody ever start a DIY job, then, just as the Point of No Return is reached, bitterly regrets ever starting?
I tried a differentone
Yes, m9, it's a .gif
I don't see movement yet, m9
no, m9 -- stationary hearts
Soodle, I do that a lot
I have just pulled all the wall paper off my lounge, and now I am Sooooo regretting it.
hmm not finding the ar 6
em, i took some tiles off my bathroom wall last wednesday, and half the plaster came off with them... and then the following day i had a leak into the room below because I'd moved the bath slightly and caused a joint to weaken
Soodle, the easy solution is paint.
so wishing i hadn't started LOL
hmph.
Boo.. AR plus the Seven Deadly ***s and a roundy vowel.
wonder why a .gif doesn't work for me?
Glan; that sounds awful!
boobear... think of Ar6 Hall tv talk host,
not just you, m9
Oh Glan.. Meet your sister.
ty got it
Nef, the plaster fell off right down to the stone wall in one place LOL - so I need a plasterer now..
Soodlebum, I started to replace my roof, once the shingles came I knew I was in trouble, but, finished, took 8 weeks for 44 square with double tearoff, won't do that again
I find some do and some don't and some have black backgrounds here but not in the profile -- those ones do move.
glant, what happened to the plaster?
well, I'm half way through the gr** and clearly am not going to finish this one, so I'm off to bed - night all - see you soon
Yikes, Weiik & Glan... a moment of Gung-ho-ness this afternoon may well have turned into a major home improvement job. Yik!
Glan, it sounds like you would have had a leak sooner or later, right?
Bye Glan.Take care
the plaster in this house is very old - built in 1860ish - and it is all very dry and just turns to dust and slides down the walls - i shouldn;t have been surprised by the bathroom, we've replastered every other room!
for Glant: A duck walks into a pub and orders a pint of beer and a ham sandwich. The barman looks at him and says, "Hang on! You're a duck." "I see your eyes are working," replies the duck. "And you can talk!" Exclaims the barman. "I see your ears are working, too," Says the duck. "Now if you don't mind, can I have my beer and my sandwich please?" "Certainly, sorry about that," says the barman as he pulls the duck's pint. "It's just we don't get many ducks in this pub. What are you doing round this way?" "I'm working on the building site across the road," explains the duck. "I'm a plasterer." The flabbergasted barman cannot believe the duck and wants to learn more, but takes the hint when the duck pulls out a newspaper from his bag and proceeds to read it. So, the duck reads his paper, drinks his beer, eats his sandwich, bids the barman good day and leaves. The same thing happens for two weeks. Then one day the circus comes to town. The ringmaster comes into the pub for a pint and the barman says to him: "You're with the circus, aren't you? Well, I know this duck that could be just brilliant in your circus. He talks, drinks beer, eats sandwiches, reads the newspaper and everything!" "Sounds marvelous," says the ringmaster, handing over his business card. "Get him to give me a call." So the next day when the duck comes into the pub the barman says, "Hey Mr. Duck, I reckon I can line you up with a top job, paying really good money." "I'm always looking for the next job," says the duck. "Where is it?" "At the circus," says the barman. "The circus?" repeats the duck. "That's right," replies the barman. "The circus?" the duck asks again. "With the big tent?" "Yeah," the barman replies. "With all the animals who live in cages, and performers who live in caravans?" says the duck. "Of course," the barman replies. "And the tent has canvas sides and a big canvas roof with a hole in the middle?" persists the duck. "That's right!" says the barman. The duck shakes his head in amazement, and says: "What the f.... would they want with a plasterer??!"
Soodle, how big is your room?
the leak was definietley my fault - I moved the bath alittle
hi Jilli
Hi boobear
pr7? (lol jilli!)
glant, r u going to try and re-plaster it yourself?
LMAO Jilli.... Class!
Love the joke Jili - and no, i need to get a professional in to compleytely re-plaster the walls - plastering is beyond my DIY skills!
pr7 -- The heir to the throne minus last letter + bovine
night night all *poof&
cute, jilli!
nite glant, plaster isn't that bad, if u know how ..
ty!
and pl for the 9, cos
di 6, please?
Nef... I have no idea how big the room is. But, you see, we had a burst pipe and serious water damage to the house over Christmas, so I am hoping that those nice people in the Insurance company will cough up for the whole job! I am being ... ahem...'creative' in the form filling in department.
di + bovine + **ne of Green Gables
(that's the di6, nan)
brb
must be a different bovine than the one I'm thinking of, because I cant get there from the di
And to clarify... the bovine is not the co* word. The confusion between the co* and the ox words bamboozled me earlier.
it's a 2-letter bovine, nan
soodle just said it
ty jill
the pig that does not use bot** for wrinkles
But then, 95% of my life is bamboozlement anyway :-(
love those 2fers
yw nan -- and variations on the theme for the others
off for firewood detail ...
hi all my fellow addicts!
ttfn weiik
I hate water damage, Soodle. I tried to help DH's Aunt last summer after she had a problem in her condo unit. I fixed her water damage but aggravated my arthritis
bye, weiik
hi gwen
I know, Nef, but in the grand scheme of things, when I look at the TV & see the misfortunate people in Australia,I am in no position to whinge. Everything is relative!
Isn't that the truth!!?!
back in a bit -- must catch the last rays of the sun we seldom see these days
Sister Soodle, I was bamboozled by "bovine" in reference to the ox when c** is in the gr4.
bye, jilli
(((Moll))) How are you, my friend?

Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hello Minver. Nice to see you. Its been a long time!
Below the grid -- Lickety's Babble Clues, Ted
Ted:You can get lots of clues: click on the tiny green link at the bottom for Lickety's Babble Clues Lickety gives you the first two letters of each word, plus how many letters in the word, plus the word's point value The point value sometimes helps you figure out if you need a word with a high-scoring letter in it, and things like that
lickety's babble clues, Ted ( see under tile stats)
I can see, thanks. I got to around 100 before I started watching the chat here
Ted, many of us are using Lickety's List (see below the gr** and tile stats; there's a "Friends of Babble section

<-- not yet...just finished watching "To Sir, with Love"
hi car.eeyore.. not me, but hubby is
Now don't make me come in there and separate you two!!!!!
I am! Car
I just want to say that Jennifer Love Hewitt looks like a dip bowl.
* shushing *
:-P
I guess I missed her!
ok...GG's on now...
lol.. what is a "dip bowl"?
I'm guessing a large bowl you put potatoe chip dip in?
If Jennifer looks like one...she must be upside down! :)
yes...but her dress may be more like a shrimp cocktail dish.
now you've got me curious to see it
lol.. almost makes me want to tune in
I love Ricky Gervais!
he's funny! one bleep out so far!!!
christian bale looks better cleaned shaven
- ed
I am just so glad he has put some weight back on!
can you imagine how long they have to sit there before the whole thing is all said and done???
Yeah! Christian Bale!
That's why they are allowed to drink.
I've always like him, too...
...I saw him first in "Empire of the Sun"....good movie
Me too!
It is just amazing to me how drastically he changes his appearance for his roles! Wow!
yes, have imagined the agony of sitting .. for type A personalities.. horrible
very much so, car...
...definiteyl, aloy!
(pardon my spelling)
Well they also get those gift bags full of thousands of dollars worth of goodies!
amazingly enough, most of the movies I've seen him in, he has an American accent! Almost strange to hear him with his natural British accent
JL Hewitt does look like a dip bowl Car. Or some kind of oyster shell.
See!!!!!!
one would think the free dinner was enough, eh, car?
Never!
well, that and the company
Peg Bundy won!!!!
Yeah!!!! I think she rocks!

Sandra Bullock needs to cut her bangs RIGHT NOW
okay, as someone who is definitely not into movies; what is the golden Globe awards for?
Is that her in the front? She looks very uncomfortable.
can't see my last word, di 7.52.. any clue out there?
(I'm with you, nef)
seems like for movies?
HOPE it is not too fishy
that's an ugly red dress on stage
di + start of the air we breathe + tarzan * J***
di + carbon di**ide + I know you c** find this word...plural
so isn't that what the Acadomy Awards are for?
These are voted by the Associated Foreign Press
sounds like this one is for movies via the foreign press?
The Golden Globes are like the "pre" Academy Awards. They are a big predictor of who will win at the Oscars.
The Academy Awards are voted on by other people in the industry
never heard of 1/2 these shows/movies
* 'scuse me, pardon me, 'scuse me, coming thru *
I hate when a bunch of 'em go up there....
ty SO much, Molly L.. I had the singular, but missed the pl.. yay.. done

No problem with Lickety for me, phan.

shawn?
can you believe he's working on a book about his life? all, what, 16 yrs of it??? 1/2 of which is what he might remember without the help of others?
*gags*
no sean
shaun?
shaun was the guy from the partridge family
how can a 16 year old even know what his life is about?
he's already had the book written. it's been a looser as far as sales go
no, that was david cassidy
that's what I thought, nef

The Cyrus creature also wrote a biography at 16. Bless both their over inflated egos.

wondering who the reading audience is for those 'kid biographies' ... surely, it can't be intelligent adults!
i am sure bush's dog was literate
clue for ar 6 please?
the sad fact is that at 16 you don't know anything, much less who you are. It's so sad to think of young people who are so self-centered that they don't know diddly from squat
more literate than his owner, at least. buh-dum-ching!
i was waiting for that leslie
LOL!
well you can't just hang that out there
nothing like adult peer pressure (parents and managers) to encourage such youngsters to do such a thing only to attempt to extend their short careers....

he's doing well now; just lots of fatigue --and he now talks too much! ;-)

niters, jmc! Sleep tight!
oh no Nef... it will be several weeks. I have a partial deadline on Wednesday. Was having trouble getting started today, but made progress this evening.
My eyes are tired now, so taking a break. Will write a different paper in a bit.
how are you Nef?
I'm glad you made progress; I've been hoping you'd finish early. But I know how hard it is for you to read for long times....
doing fine; just very lazy today (but so is DH and our daughter today)
The paper will not be my "best possible" work, Nef. Nothing this quarter will be. That makes me sad. But I will make my current best possible effort at all of it, even if that means that sometimes I spend only an hour on things that I used to spend five or six on.
Lazy is nice!
we went to our daughter's roller derby bout last night and we all felt as though we were in the bout and got our butts kicked!
oof! I think it is interesting that roller derby is making a comeback. I have never been to a live derby though.
(her team really got whalluped last night --beat by over 100 po5s
oh no! that's pretty .... um... *bright look* well, they're BOUND to do better next time!
she plays on a flat track; and it's the sport, not the fighting that is drawing crowds
Can someone clue ar6 please?
they were unbeaten last year; but there were a lot of members in the league that changed and her team only has about 5 experienced members
sorry sanch... not even close to that one yet!
oh, yes, experienced teammates can make all the difference
sanch; do you remember the night time talk show host ar**** Hall?
drop the 2nd to the last vowel
hmmm..no I don't!
thanks Nef -- slightly altered spelling sanch
ar + original *** (bad error) + vowel

Sorry nef, I'm not from the states so I guess that's why I didn't get your clue
And ty!

sanch, where are you?

welcome! We have a few members from there too. Soodle was on a while ago
And you are up late, aren't you?
Ty. Yeah I talked to her yesterday.
Yeah, I do night work so this time is normal for me!
okay. I used to work nights too; but now work a day job.
What state are you from?
Minnesota
Nef, i would like to get the 8 before I turn off the computer for the evening... down to 73
stid, the 8 is one of the di polutants pl spellings
(there are 4 di words for that cancerous pollutant
thanks! got them!

:-D And now I shall conserve my very tired eyeballs for a full day's slog tomorrow. ***Hugs all*** have a lovely evening/day, everyone! *poof*
niters, stid!
Night!
so, sanch; how long have you been playing Babble?
About three or four days, It's great! I've a lot of time on my hands all of a sudden recently too so it's a good way of spending it I guess!
How long are you here?
Time; what a wonderful thing to have! :-) After 2 weeks you will lose the stats ; so we will be encouraging you to go Pro
I don't work tomorrow (I have a rotating schedule and only work half time-- job-sharing) and right now I'm awake; so can help if you need it
Thanks!

I just cant figure out how that guy made it to jail alive.
Oh, MY! How terribly sad!
I know, I dont even have the capacity to image what they are going through.
It's such a senseless crime! I can't imagine how much the family is grieving either
I hadn't heard about this, it's tragic

Well Nef, our careers showing again!! teehee
It took me ae 5/12 to finish this gr4/7.I finally did so here is a story of clues for those who are starting an 4/8. After eating a delicious ta4/5 dinner, I watched the Golden Globe Awards which took place on the we 4/8 coast. Ricky Gervais has the dr 6/27 humor, but he's funny. I ca4/5 really understand why "The Social Network" won for best picture.I guess the Hollywood Foreign press was co4/10ed into letting it win.Heard a lot of it was fabricated. The creators of FaceBook don't have to live in co 6/24 anymore I guess.Did you know that one of the FaceBook guys used to work at Da 5/16 Queen when he was a kid? I bet that da 4/5 was not in the movie. Anway, tonight's show was like any other award show.It was just a bunch of st 5/10 who gr4/6 a lot when they win&give boring speeches about how gr 4/6eful they are.It was no ne4/8 to me when Glee won an award. Knew that show would win. I had a bet with a friend. She thought 30 Rock would win and I thought that Glee would win.Now my friend ow 4/8 me a dinner. Robert DeNiro's speech; I didn't really get the po 5/12 of it. I liked watching some of the presenter sp4/5 with each other.I thought Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel were going to get into a sp 4/5 after Damon dissed him. Dr 4/5! My hubby wants the computer. Pa 4/6on me, but I have to wr 4/9 up my story of clues and go.I hope you were able to find some words, at least the easy on 4/4.Now I am going to sp 6/21 on outta here.Wo 4/8 back here again 'til tomorrow. Goodnight to my fellow babblers! Ad 5/12!

May I please have a clue for co6-27? Thanks
We had a drop in our prenatal census; we had 9 babies last month, Jilly. So right now we are low; but there's is a definite up-tick in the number of positive pregnancy tests this month and our New OB clinic slots are full for the next month and we are still busy

Anyone else experiencing a problem with the Babble Expert? I finish the grid, get fireworks, and when I go back (if it is before the flip), the first word is missing so I am short one and have to reenter it for fireworks a second time. Is it only me?
ah, thanks
sanch, which one? the co 6/36 is encouraging someone to do something; the co 6/24 is a pl of the co5 (townhouse-type dwelling);
I've both now. still missing 5 co's though
the co 6/27 is the most shy or flirtatious
the co6/36 is the singular for cattle and St. ***rick's Day is March 17
Yup, i've those too nef
co 6/36 is like a buffalo chip
cbr, I don't have Expert (I'm on a Mac and there isn't one for macs yet
cbr, no problems here
sanch, do you have co4, another term for your hip bone? and its plural
It's just strange to get fireworks hours before and to return and be missing a word. I wondered for weeks how my numbers could be going down when I finish it every day. At least I know what is happening even if I don't know why.
I do now, thanks gran!
cbr...I have expert and haven't had that happen...
Can you ist what you still need sanch?
we will all help
I think I have to give up, 9 minutes and 29 words left

Add a consonant after the second vowel in your third ca4/6.
then plural

no!
sanch, the scottish landowner, only with a c instead of an l
