I am an advocate of ambien. Insomnia is hell.
I use melatonin but that only helps me fall to sleep, then I'm wide awake in 3 hrs. I took Benadryl last night.
I went through long periods of difficult sleep; ambien helped but what finally did the trick was divorce :-) (not that I am recommending it!!!)

DH is back in bed (since 10:30A, after getting up at 9) Our daughter has her roller derby bout tonight; and I just asked DH if I should try and see if a friend would go to the bout with me and he can just stay in bed all day (this is something that NEVER happens!). He said yes. I'm worrying about him; and now my 2 closest friends aren't able to go to the bout with me. What to do....

In the smack dab middle of the continent (give or take 300 miles) there were very few Jews around as I was growing up. Ask me about Ole and Lena, however, and I could tell you a lot about that humor.

I need a hip replacement. I'm allergic to the non-steroidals (Ibuprofen, aspirin, etc) and also metal; so I got a cortisone injection and am doing much better. Will get by on cortisone injections every 3-4 months for now

Well. There are other things; I had osteonecrosis in my knees (the bone died around the joints) and replacement was my only option. (Had some arthritis too but the collapsed bone trumped it).

Nef - Titanium hip replacements are common here. and FYI my father-in-law - long passed - had 3 hip replacements from age 60-90 and was very happy with them

i started the Atkins diet and started running the same day - now have done 2 5ks and 1 6k...never ever thought I would be running, that's for sure!
Jill, the only thing I have heard about it is that the HCG stuff probably isn't necessary since you are on such a severely low calorie diet. Anyone would lose weight on 500 calories a day.
it's not cheating if it's something you're really deficient in. i lost 10 pounds just from starting progesterone supplements... makes dieting a LOT more successful when you don't have a medical issue forcing the weight gain.

It's a hormone produced in pregnancy Soodle. It's supposed to speed up metabolism.
Actually Soodle, it's been just fine. 100 oz fish/chicken/beef, 2 cups vegies, and a fruit. It's the hormone we have when pregnant. The theory is that it pulls the fat from areas you want to lose, so really your body is using 1500 calories from that, you really aren't hungry

i can only recommend Excedrin migraine medicine and there are also strips you can put on the forehead that tingle kinda like ben-gay. they sorta distract a bit...
i am told many women 'age" out of migraines when they get 50+ but we will have to see

with artificial lenses and cataracts removed,and twice yearly laser treatments we are holding her vision at 20/400 and we thank god for that much
what does that mean, crossy, 20/400. one eye is worse than the other, yes?
measles? well most of us have been immunized for that i hope,ir had it once as children
well, that is at least something. that means she is VERY near-sighted in both eyes, trifioso
20/400 is the top letter on the eye chart only
but with the marvel of e-readers she can read and i have s special set up on her computer ..we are fortunate
My tom is worse than that without his glasses. He's pretty much a lights and color and fuzzy shapes vision when uncorrected.
With his glasses, he is pretty close to 20/20
FYI: I got a story of clues about the Oscars in profile
glasses do not help my beloved,she gets growths on the back side of the lens that flatten it over time,hence the laser to keep it at a 20/400 level

I hate double negatives, I really do! They’re wrong to say for me and you. A double negative is not good English. They should go away, I really do wish. Every time I hear one, I want to scream. It isn’t proper grammar, do you know what I mean? So please people, don’t use them anymore. Kick those double negatives out the door!

Actually,hubby doesn't get any of the perfect tenses.
Fortunately, Patrick has wonderful grammar and no so bad spelling. Although he seems to double check with me.
He also says me and John went to the store not John and I. Sad thing is,I work with teachers who also talk the same way. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
