good df!
no she does not. she knows better, watching me tackle the grid each night. she makes fun of me
she is a regular on prolific on fb, though
have never played prolific... what is that?
you should get her to try, josh ;o)
ca 6 and ca 7
prolific is pretty much boggle
is it a mindjolt game?
dfm, fat chance. she appreciates the time needed to finish the grid each day and has a better set of time management priorities than me
hope she will still share you with us :~)
ditto that Dee
yes, or we'll miss our daily 'hi and nbt' ;o)
lol
the only days i have missed in the last year plus have been my thesis defense, major travel days, and my cousin's death, so i don't think you have too much to worry about for now
we would truly miss you

good to know josh, we sure would miss you
*comes out of lurk mode* hello everyone
are you being married in a church?
where are you planning to live josh?
hi rose
hi granny
josh???getting married??? oh, well done!
hey dee, flosey, josh,dfm
we will live in toronto. if we get married, it is far more likely to be in a synagogue than a church. but will probably be in a cottage somewhere in north ontario
that sounds lovely, josh
hi granny! :o)
my water is taking a lo4 time to boil -- of course, it would probably do better if I remembered to turn the stove on! >.<
I have loved my visits to Toronto
lol df
lol, dfm...babble does it to you every time

ooh, if I'm in the area (i.e. near ho4) I can visit josh! ;o)

i like toronto very much, i will be happy to live there
which end of Toronto, josh?
she lives very downtown, south of bloor and central
do you have a job yet josh?
"I quote in elegiacs all the crimes of Heliogabulus In co5s I can floor peculiarities parabolous"
Toronto will always be Home to me
not yet, that is an important step that i can only take once i am allowed, due to being an amurkan citizen
do you have to apply for a work visa?

HI
hi lady :)
how you?
trouble sleeping lately, so very tired, but otherwise ok. And you?
Awww. Thinking about bed soon
I am thinking of taking a nap with Terra on the couch. Or maybe even in bed. I was still wide awake at 5 am.
That sounds like a plan
yeah... won't get much done that way, but on the other hand, forcing myself to go on is the old pattern that I am trying to break, lol. Still having fun at your job?
I have so many phantoms
Love it
I am the weird freak that loves doing all the archiving
wonderful! They are so lucky to have you.
Thanks
good morning everybody

The kitty moved thank goods
very good, rubyfoo! Am glad to hear that.
is this a food grid?
2 food words out of 6, so far hahah
I have too many phantoms
this is an ending grid. Find a word, put on a couple of endings.
good tip, sprite!
lancing
:)
now if I could just remember where to put them....sorry folks!
thanks rubyfoo ;)
I got all excited when I started doing that!
Endings
Thank you Sprite

Enjoy Ruby
canion is driving me crazy. I know it is canyon. But still!
Banjo is mine
Thanks, Spritey..for some weird reason that gave me the crying vegetable..lol
lol zooz :) Hi, how is today unfolding for you?
I am well thanks, but just cannot get into this grid at all, have been here for 20 mins and only found 42 words..not good at all, Hope you are well?
Hello, Herin :-)
Hi Zooooooooooo
I am well. I found the key to this grid is putting all the endings to all the words.
I had a question Zoo
Yes i am trying..but.
Ok, Herin?
Ahh , had, have you forgotten then?
I have an answer! Let's see if they go together!
LOL
I like your hippo crab, icon, Spritey :-)
:D I was in the mood for something crazy today.
I did have to give a a closer look..then a big smile..lol
Zoo wasn't it your birthday the other week?
On the 11th feb..yes.
SO Happy late birthday sorry I kept forgetting to ask
awwww and I didn't know! Am putting you in the list right away. Belated happy birthday, zooz. May the sun shine on you, and may you feel loved. Cause you are.
Sprite it was on FB
I just have a good memory
I am lousy at FB, lady. I go there about on4 or twice a season.
I put all the steps I learnt today in my notebook so I ndon't have to keep asking
Sprite I noticed it
that is what I always do at jobs too. I write it all down, don't have to ask again and can find it back when I need to do it again, even if it is a year later. It is a great way to go.
And you don't have to waste their time
yellow posted notes rock
exactly. I had so many notes in my last job that I put them into a folder, all categorised. And then my colleagues kept borrowing the folder, lol.
I am in the process of doing that
it is bound to earn you respect from both colleagues and bosses.
I stayed back tonight for about 20min so I didn't have to go in the AM and work out were I left off
Is there anyone here that is interested in rock surf music?
kind of like the music in Pulp fiction
Hello everyone
sorry, not me
hi lyn :) xxx
Hi Lynxx
how's your nick of the woods today, lyn?
season'
crud sorry
we had joy, we had fun...
all good, enjoying the cooler weather. PS it is neck -(wondering why that expression came about)
jeezzz I am not with it today. Neck of the woods. Nick of time. Thanks :)
Lynxx there was no summer
I know - it was excellent! except for the surplus of rain
...and you can keep the humidity
"neck of the woods" is an American construct. As early as the mid 16th century "neck" was used in reference to a narrow piece of land. (googled it)
Bah stupid weather. I will be wearing tights tomorrow
from another site: Originally the neck of the woods was a narrow strip of woodland connecting a larger area of woodland.
I think it is the connecting part that is responsible for the use of the word neck.
Interesting sprite
all the things we learn from babble :)
Yes indead.
this grid has so many rewarding endings!
Too busy munching on M and Ms
I had a bag of the nutty ones yesterday. Ate it all.
I probably would too
hang on I have
I bet lyn has telephone or something like that. Or so deep into the grid she did not see the origin of 'neck of the woods'.
Or Stew needs cuddles
ah, even better! Dear Stew.
nope - she's here - just busy making up words in between watching Graham Norton show
:D I was wondering!
What is on there tonight Lyn?
...and feeling bloated as I had pizza tonight - they are too much
Stephen Fry, Caesar Milan, Bill Whatshisname
Caesar been on yet?
Just on now
oh very nice. I should emigrate. Don't like the politics here anyway atm.
??
what is happening there Sprite
just meant I'd like to see that show
That is not on here. Unless you mean it is on Cable
Yeah on Foxtel. It is an English show Sprite - very very funny, Norton is an excellent host
damn
we have a pretty extreme rightwing government atm, lyn. With Wilders, for one. Who wants to get rid of all moslems. For starters, I think. He is creepy.
good morning all
Hi Carlee
hi Carlee
in combination with Fry that should be hilarious. morning carlee!
hi herin..lynxxx and sprite
moved Carlee?
no..is 2 weeks lynxxx
I am watching Good News week
and i cant wait
it is really great, carlee. Am happy for you.
thanks sprite :)
what a laugh - just tried a stupid word as I had no 8s - and it worked!
Hi everyone.
hi sally
it is a good grid for that, lyn. Hi Sally :)
lynxxx, just did the same! Wonder if it is the same word. ic 8/50.
hi Sally
it was! great minds and all that!
oh..thanks for that you 2
:-) Don't see how it can differ in meaning from the 6, but still.
And I only tried it because of the words within it beginning with a C - being very careful not to give clues here :-)
nice! thanks
just need one more for nbt
fireflies. My advice for this grid is: look for more endings. There are more than you realise. I swear.
*~*~*POMPOM TOSS*~*~*for sprite
Congrats sprite. I see that ism has reappeared.
Hooray for Sprite!
congrats Sprite...I have just found another great ending :)
And Dr Who's screwdriver :-)
does anyone have a owrd for bottom right n...all the words i have found thus far are for upper n
at least 10 or 11 rewarding endings in here. I had a ball :)
no4/5
garden no4.5/5
And plural the one that zooz gave.
Shall I pick her? No, **!
thanks...nbt/nbs in 26

ty lynxxx!
bye Sprite
ttfn sprite...
and hello zooz
Hello, Carlee :-)
bye sprite.
hello Zooz, thought of you today - was watching Grand Designs, the one done on IofW
lol, cool..bet it looked better than my home :-)
O boy what crap am I watching
a 50s bungalow in the woods.....came up really well, not that there was a lot left of it!
Oh i think i saw that one..sure that was some time ago.
probably, very few shows come out here straight away
I have watched a lot of `Wanted down under` program, have you heard of it?
back soon, phone
no - but then I mostly watch cable (when I watch)
I watch anything on free tv
so have you heard of the show Infernal?
Wanted down under?
yes
No I haven't
Sorry, it is for people in the UK who want to move to Australia, they give the family two weeks in a rented house to see if they really want to move for good, got to find a job, school for children, compare food & utility bills to the UK..then they watcha video of their loved ones they would be leaving behind..the decide if they are going to stay in Australia or not.
You can't find a job here in 2 weeks that is a burke of an idea
Do most of them decide to move?
The stupid thing is..if i wanted to move, i would try and find all the information i needed first before going, they don`t they go first..so many say they cannot afford to move..love seeing the homes and things..but such a waste of a program that could of been made a lot better.
Well you have to look at costs. I guess it is ok if you are a backpacker kind of person.
my daughter's dream right now is to get her arcitectural degree..move to australia and find a gorgeous hunk of a man there....and design gorgeous condos...( mind she is 14 )
fading here, better get to bed. Night all
night night lynxxx
Sweet dreams, Lynxxx :-)
Night Lynxx
There is a flaw in that idea Carlee
Typical 14 year old girl i suppose, Carlee..lol
wouldnt work the other way round would it? "Would you like to leave your sun-drenched, laid-back country to go and live on an island where it pisses down 364 days of the year, and the people are mostly morons?"
gorgeous hunk of a man?
LOL..how true, Dachef.
Yep, Most hot Aussie guys are surfers and have about 0 brain cells
Dachef that sounds like our summer actually
she will wear the pants....no one puts baby in the corner...of her own doing
oooh..got an la 8 just monkeying
Ok most of this observation is from guys I know
herin..at this point in her life..she doesnt care if he has brain cells..only that he treat her well..and be gorgeous
Awwwww
she's 14 :) but she doesnt put up with s&&& from anyone.... she tells them where to go..how to get there..and gives very good directions..she has had a 4 year old gimongous ape of an older brother and his rugby buuddies all hounding her from the get go...she doesnt take crap
Takes after you that strengh
i should add rugby and hockey
t
no..she is way stronger then i am..i am always afraid of upsetting the applecart and find a way around it.. she bashes that cart to pieces and tellthe owner to fob off
back for a few before siesta!
hi ruby :)
Hi Ruby
your daughter sounds like a hoot and a half, carlee!
yeap..she is a pistol...
her music teacher says she reminds him of his ex wife..( no worries..she gets 95+ in music..and he is travelling with the other music teacher at the school o see her in concert with a band in london ( 100km from me)
what is her instrument?
flute
awww
my son is a musician and I have absolutely zero ability, just a listener!
my father is in that band... he plays clarinet, my former music teacher is the conductor of the band...i played double bass for 7 years... and now she gets to have him conduct her too
what a lovely thing, carlee!
I have found I really like this band Michelangelo & the Tin Stars,
and i called her music teacher....and now he going to watch the concert :) the band decided to invite children and grandchildren of members to take part in the concert.....they playing tall cedars, the tempest and balladaire
opps: Mikelangelo and the tin star
that stage is goign tobe chocabloc... the band normally is 80 members or so..with the kids and grandkids over 100
it sounds wonderful, carlee!
Lovely Carlee
ooh, just found a lovely ca6/24
but have no idea of the 8's or the left-hand e's or the 2nd column o. Woe is I!

NIght all
I see the Facebook movie did not get any awards last night. I'm stumped at how it even got nominated.
what won best movie and best actress?
hi again all
The King's Speech got Best Movie
hello everyone
actress was chick from black swan
Natalie Portman.
And Natalie Portman won Best Actress
thanks
mel something or other dropped the f bomb
She has a name carlee
I'm sure Natalie Portman did a great job in that movie. However, it sounds so dark and sick, I doubt I will ever watch it.
i know she has a name....but i am not a movie buff...
sorry to offend...
Molly, It's a good movie
I'm amazed that was the first time anyone said the eff word at The Oscars.
I think you should see it Molly, just so you can make your own mind up about it
You didn't see the facebook movie?
i cant stand the movies anymore...
I'm not at a good time in my life to be watching dark movies, but thanks for the idea.
Social Network was very good
I thought the King's Speech was deserving.
And I 've just looked up The King's Speech on imdb, and as usual certain americans are whinging about it winning
nor am i molls...if it isnt wrapped up with entertainment..and a happy ending...i will just go read the news for free
Whining about what?
What Americans are whining? We loved it!
Some Americans just can't accept that other countries also have a movie industry
all these movies with dark undertones..and deep metophoric meanings... no thanks...if spending my $ I WANT TO COME OUT FEELING HAPPY AND ENTERTAINED
Not in my neck of the woods...
Not true, I love British made movies
Seriously, that movie did very well in the US. I don't think it's an anti-British thing.
sorry didnt mean cap lock
Americans also love the royal family...
I agree Carlee. I don't go to the movies to examine the dark side of a mad mind.
having none of our own.
Here's an example from someone calling themselves hanooman: the movie where a bunch of stuck up British royal people who look like they are constipated, sit around and talk about politics. You can bet your ass the Academy will vote for this movie even if they slept through the whole thing.
time for my coffee- no more international wars
last movie i saw was harry potter..one before that...i went to see harry potter..and i think i may have seen twilight part 3 with my daughter...
Hello all. Good Monday to all.
may not be highbrow stuff...but had fun..and was entertained...
Hi red!
Annie how are you?
and am so not in the mood for any international whinging about which country can make films so am off...enjoy the day all
tired red, back from CT but had a great time
Were you visiting family?
My daughter's birthday...her day is actually 2/29 so next year she has her own day
Sounds like fun! A leap year baby too!!! does she now count her age once every 4 years?
She turned 43 so I think she would prefer to have her age in quarters but she is not touchy about age.
Not touchy about age is great. I am getting a bit touchy about mine, though really...there is not much to do about it!
Glad to hear you had a good visit with your daughter Annie.
Hi MollyL, how are you?
Morning Red. Doing well, for a Monday.
thanks molly, and my grandson scored a goal in soccer! Yay.
Since I am not at work, I am finding this monday to be nice.
Oh, that is so great that you got to be there to see that. Sounds like a wonderful Grandma moment.
a relaxing day for you red, how is teulu?
Anyone else have "Laconic" as a phantom!
great phantom
Yes!
What about 'Social' as a phantom?
Funny you ask. He is behaving horribly! but he is fine. Something has gotten into him today!!!
Indeed Movie! and Gothaab, glad I am not the only one.
Or 'movies' as a phantom
bionic as well...
I had a dream that I was supposed to take care of a 100 year old man who was extremely fragile. I wassupposed to prop him up. He was nice at first, but then would become this thing with really long fingernails that would dig in to me
No more spicy food before bed for you, young lady.
Isn't there ANY symbolism in that at all?
Well, Freud would have fun with the "really long fingernails that would dig into you".
He would just play his one note.
Everything is a penis. How dull.
So you want to discuss the "men are fragile and need to be propped up" thing?
Good grief.
There's no way around it, is threr?
Of course, the whole dream could be relevant to your old lady icon.
That's YETTA.
Begging your Kaplan's pardon, YETTA.
I would pursue this analysis, but I must be off to the gym.
:)
bye Kap

uu, You Dad is making great strides
n=
Inge, good morning
I took out the trash this morning, something he won't be able to do for a while; driving we should hear about on Thursday. And he can't reach the sore on his heel.
morning, Inge!
uusue, it is so good that you were able to go to him for the two weeks
Mom, my weekend was great...had a little celebration for my daughter's 43rd birthday and saw my grandson score a goal in soccer
that sounds like a wonderful weekend, Annie. 43? Ah, she is still wet behind the ears. :-)
yes, I think that's made all the difference, Mom.
well, sort of damp
Morning Sue, Morning Mom.
absolutely uusue, especially given the circumstances
lol Annie
morning, Molly!
good morning everyone:)
mornin all. happy rainy monday. :)
Good morning Molly
hi crossy, Evan
((Crossy)) good morning
Good morning Eva
Eva, happy Monday to you as well
((mom))
morning, crossy and Eva!
Rainy Eva? It's sunny where I am. Hmmm.
howdy uu
no rain here but we are right at the freezing mark, which is a miracle in of itself
rain here and flood watches, good we are on top of a hill :-)
tornado watch here until 9 a.m. .... really bad weather about 5 a.m. this morning
well, sunny so far. it was a damp weekend, and i think its not done yet... i only get to see outside for a few minutes in the morning...heh
as i look out the window,i can see something that is not white and may of at one time been living grass;0
that sounds wonderful Crossy, no snow
lol, just one patch about 3 inches in lenth right by the building lol
of dead grass that is
lots of white stuff still around
**sigh** Crossy,
ok everyone, let's form a co*** line
ahh. monday morning meeting time, it is. hopefully this is a quick one. they usually are, but sometimes people feel chatty...
hold on,ill get the baby oil and the whips
lol Crossy
bye bye Eva
be easy when you la** that whip
meetings are a total waste of time, have one just once a month on the last friday, that way everyone gets a long weekend
set up a gotomeetings.con site for the company and you can do it all in 30 min
http://www.gotomeeting.com/fec/?Action =rgoto&_sf=1
50 words down, time to do some housework be back in a bit for another 50. ((Hugs)) to all of you
Wouldn't work at the university, I think, crossy - we all complain bitterly about meetings while we schedule more and more of them.
strange waste of time lol
or is it just a weekly validation that everyone is still among the living? hehe
indeed. but much of it we do in the name of shared governance; faculty want to be involved in all decisions affecting the university, particularly academic ones (which is understandable). But it leads to a lot of meetings.
how this must be fixed, how that must be altered, how this must change, and after all that noise it is brought to the powers that be,they look at it for 2 minutes and say sorry,it is not in the budget for this quarter
ahh,spooning the power base around...
well, the thing is, there are a lot of things where the faculty do have the final say (or almost), particularly if it doesn't involve money (much of curriculum, for example). So it's periodic reinforcement, which is the best way to guarantee that the behavior being reinforced continues :-)
hehe,i do not miss office politics at all
I agree with Cross. Meetings are usually a waste of time. What takes an hour could be done in 15 minutes.
indeed,it is all checks and balances
lol, most of our meeting we gigantic fillibusters of 3 hours, set for mid day so it destroyed an entire productive work day
and of course all those ideas that look so brilliant on the big notepad on the tripod rarely play out in the field where it matters

but the book says it should look like this!..well f*** the book
There is an echo in here.
lol, that was a good example lol
15 minutes. not bad for a quickie meeting.
Good Lord. How did THAT happen?
Molly's broken the chog!!!!!
*Gets hammer and nails*
broken chog! run! think of the chillins!
this is my take on meetings (and yes, i have this hanging in my cube): http://www.communicationandconf lict.com/images/workplace_meetings.gif .jpg
Morning players
Hi, Mr Bob!
Eva, I couldn't get the image to come up
trust me gotomeetings.com,set it up you virtually meet once a week for 30 minutes and yer done;0
gotomeetings.com is wonderful. I've used it and it is so much nicer than stuffy meetings in boardrooms.
anyway, this is the one I have hanging in my office: http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2010-1 0-03/
Eva! That is it! It's a perfect assessment of meetings.
assessment, while useful, has become quite the buzzword lately :-)
i could not get it to come up either
crossy loves dilbert
There is a reason the word "ass" is in "assessment". : P
does this work? http://tinyurl.com/4ca5j5t
hi again all
That's it, Eva! Love it!!!
Hi, carlee!
hi sue
lol,yes that worked
howdy carlee
howdy crossy
am half way..and stuck
i also have a "notice" hanging on my wall: The management regret that is has come to their attention that Employees dying on the job are failing to fall down. This practice must stop as it becomes impossible to distinguish between Death and natural movement of the staff. Any Employee found dead in an upright position will be dropped from the payroll. -Managing Director
I'm 1/4 way and thinking I should do some actual work :-)
ah, yes, I've seen that before, Eva :-)
i am just waiting to go to the bank and get MY accounts set up
ah, another bit of progress, carlee!
ive also got one of my all-time faves, the college students paper on whether Hell is ixothermic or endothermic. that one is a classic. :)
This grid is like trying to run in muf
* mud *
yes..more progress.this one feels like i am about to step off intot he abyss tho
( read mud annie ;) )
muf sounds about right, annie :-)
Good for you Carlee. Journey Into A Brand New Life: And Adventure.
Good Morning
Ugh...An Adventure
morning caree
Hi Car, how is Dylan this morning?
morning, car.! How's the little one?
yes...well..atm it feels like a big abyss..ask me in a month how the adventure part is :o)
yes how is dylan :)
Okay, I'll can it with the positive thoughts.
no..positive is good....its keeping me from dwelling
its really really scary right now...
Dylan is OK. The hives have shifted again, so they are now off his face for the moment. I have an appointment for him and Zach at 11:00 at their regular pediatrician's office.
sorry...i didnt mean to upset u molls if i did..i do appreciate the good thoughts
I'll bet, carlee! You will get through it, though, and be stronger once you do.
Baby steps carlee...I know it sounds trite, but that is how you will make it and succeed!
good to hear, car.! Is Zach likely to get it too?
Zach may get the strep, but the rash is so unusual they doubt it will be passed on.
thats how dealing...a bit tired of being strong..would be nice to hand stron goff to someone else for a bit...to take aload off... id dylan get seom good sleep last night car.ee?
did* dylan get
hi all
hi jmc
hi jmc
hang in there car they will grow and and give you new reasons to be strong
hoose is too a word...ii live in one
Hi, jmc! How are you doing?
actually i guess i smooshed the two cars together
i am fine i got a doctor's note to avoid a meeting
yay dr notes
Not really...lots of coughing. We were up at 3:30.
ok...i gotta run..appt at bank in 20 mins...
hahaha - we were just talking about meetings a little earlier in the chog
What?!?!?! JMC! Are you OK?
bye, carlee - you will be fine!!!
Bye Carlee! I will chat with you in a bit!
bye carl
Good to hear JMC. You need to avoid all the stress you can.
bye bye carlee
whew i love both cars but it be hard when they are both here at the same time
:-P
Good grief! JMC, I thought you had been in an accident! Just re-read the post! LOL!
i be fine they couldn't find enough wrong with me and i am getting the test on Tuesday which interfere with my gym day
stress test, jmc?
OK...I have to try to finish a couple of reports before I dive into this grid. Looks like a good way to hang out today when I get home. JMC>..keep me posted.
i type like a 2 year-old *sigh*
Did they recommend blood pressure meds?
I act like a 2 year old...so it's fine with me!
they are going to do the angio scope thing
no they got mad that i left without permission so didn't give me meds. that reminds me i should call the doctors about getting meds
oh, that's a little more involved (had one of those about 5 years ago). Will be thinking of you!!!
but i would be in 6 times worse condition if i hadn't come home so am satisfied with my decision
should i be nervous uu?
hmmm silence means consent
well, good for you, jmc. No, I wouldn't be; they do it with anesthesia now (assuming it's a regular angiogram) so you sleep through it (I had one without anesthesia back in the 1970s and it was miserable; the most recent one was nothing).
brb -
just got called aside so my manager could tell me the company has bumped me up a level in my job title. no word whether that comes with a pay raise, but i find it interesting that the email they send to her basically says that she doesnt need to say anything to me about it. why tell my manager i have been bumped up a level, but not tell ME?
wierd
but congrats
maybe they want to surprise you with a big party?
That's great Eva. Hope it comes with a pay bump.
if this grid has 197 words 150 of them are weird
im crossing my fingers, but not holding my breath.
JMC, you are in my prayers.
oh ty molly people should not fret. it has been caught. I will get the meds and lose the weight and life will go on in my merry but thinner way
Not fretting. Just putting in my request that you be watched over.
ty very much
and hopefully they will find out that you are fine :-)
(I need to lose weight too...)
well i definitely have hi blood pressure and my cholesterol could stand being lowered
there are lots of different blood pressure meds; talk to your doctor about which is right for you.
lol you sound a little like a lipator ad!
i will. i will not neglect this. I have no use for people who know they have a problem not dealing with it
JMC, I just had to go on blood pressure medication. They have brought it down to normal.
good for you molly!
yeah, I think generics should be fine (I was on lisinopril, which cost me $6 per month; just switched to losartan, which is costing me $10, because it is easier on my voice)
how so on your voice?
the lisinopril can cause a bit of a cough; my throat was damaged during surgery last summer (since healed), and I lecture for a living, so the doc thought the losartan might be better.
bummer on the damage glad it is better
losing weight will help both the blood pressure and the cholesterol, another reason I should do it :-/
my dad's lost about 22 pounds since he broke his leg (now down to a good weight for him), so he is my inspiration - if he can do it at 89, I can do it at 59!
preferably without breaking my leg...
*putting sledge hammer away*
thx :-)
*Shivering...thinking of the movie "Misery"*
yes, well i have known i should do that too so i really shouldn't say i have no tolerance for people who don't do what they know they should
sorry molly didn't mean to scare you
i really have gotten people calling me asking what would happen if they ran over their leg--would it keep them from deploying
Joking. And I have this feeling that once Cross goes for his cholesterol check, we are all going to be discussing how lovely our salads are, and passing the carrot and celery sticks. : P
lol!
no more virtual bacon?
Good morning, Babble dahlinks!
i had friends (well, acquaintances) who did some pretty weird stuff to keep from being drafted during the Vietnam war....not a good idea, methinks
morning, Judi!
i thought he was already down to bacon once a week
hi judi
and I think that as long as we restrict ourselves to virtual bacon we should be fine :-)
my brother just worried himself into an ulcer
it's harder now too uu since they are already members of the military
Reading back in the chog... Congrats to Eva on your bump. Perhaps your manager was vying for the same job, that's why they are telling you not to tell her.
please could someone clue the two 'e's in the left hand column
judi do i need to put on my flak jacket today? Or are you going to be reasonably kind to me? ;-)
oh, right - avoiding deployment, that would make sense
sorry jiving
jenny, I have an em4/5, an eo5/10, and its plural. All weird.
judi they were telling her boss but not her
Oh, ty, jmc. Obviously, I need more coffee.
hmmm coffee i may have to go down stairs and make some
uu do the eo's have double letters?
no, jmc
Y'all are going to give yourselves headaches trying to figure out why the Feds do what they do. : P
oh it is a federal job that's right. 'nough said then
Brilliant, uusue2, weird words indeed.
i lasted at the irs for 2 months
I found them all by myself :-) (now what does that say about my brain???)
that it should be studied after your death
i trust you gave your monkeys a huge banana bonus
lol, jmc!
absolutely. They need their potassium.
having found the e's I realise I still nee the o in the 2nd column from the left and the a in the right hand column for nbt!! any help please.
i can only help with the A -- al5/14 almost a compound word
the o is a plural exclamation. Still looking for the A, and also the N next to it. And the E in the upper right.
ac 5/16---tennis move
ty annie
that gave me 3 words
ni 5/12 ----Ni***e Krauss, one of my fave authors

You are so in literary time out, jmc.
:-(
judi you are soooooooo mean
*sulks in corner*
ooh, nice tennis clue, getting a lot of words now with the same ending, which I had somehow missed. sigh
I don't know anythinga bout tennis
I learned these at home, not in school - my mother was big on poetry recitation. amazing how it comes back to you after XXXXX many years (not mentioning how many)
hi uusue, jmc, peri, and every one else here this AM
hi bichon
hi, bichon!

The Gingham Dog and The Calico Cat had it out. Fisticuffs!

I could use some sunshine today. Cold rain and gloom

This is the kind of useless but pleasant stuff that floats around in my brain
uh-oh= PB time!
now you have to share molly
still need the upper right E for nbt. going blind.
*Cuts a slab o'cake for JBV*
You're still in time-out, jmc. No cake for you!
it's ok Molly, no chocoate cake for me, I'm having shredded wheat for breakfast :)
WHY DO YOU HATE ME! WA!!!!!!
Oh really? I had my shredded wheat this morning. That's not stopping me.
we'll sit here quietly and recite poetry together
*eats jmc's slice of cake* yum yum. Shouldn't you be studying poetry???
Molly, I had shredded wheat this morning too
*kicks judi under the table*
Cool. I think I can remember all of Wynken, Blinken And Nod.
i can quote ogden nash
also Eugene Field, right?
i wonder why/god made the fly
Oh, is that the same table the Owl & the Pussy Cat are sitting on?? *licks frosting off fingers*

Hello, Annieb!

dorothy parker is my real fave poet
*DING* Time out over.
Yeah, only guns are lawful. XP
jmc redeems her poetry cred.

it's easier to get guns than prescriptions
Let her eat cake!
Men never make passes at girls who wear glasses but glasses are checked by girls about to be necked
Now...onto limericks...oh wait...

No no no. No limericks, please!
i am on a diet :-P
hi, vicuna!
Sure, that's big points, jmc.
Hello, uusue.
she was so surprised that I actually went
hi, Vi - just took a quick look - will definitely come back later to enjoy your blog, thanks for sharing
Virtual cake then.
I loved her mom and dad--that was my first babble meet up! lol
and with my dorothy parker poem, I say adieu
*beaming at JBV*
bye annie thanks for the dorothy parker poem
Good afternoon all
Goodbye, Annieb. Parting is such sweet sorrow!
Bye Annie, Bye Dorothy
hi norma
Hello, Norma.
and by the way, I'd just like to mention about Tolkien, that the first Lord of the Rings movie missed by a mile by not including any of the lovely songs/poems/ditties sung by the Hobbits in the book
no dorothy can stay
I agree with you JBV. I wonder what the Hobbit movie will be like
Blech. Hat Tolkien.
*hate* rather.
i need a clue for dummies on the eo5 from the left
There's such a difference in tone between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings that I think it's going to be very hard for them to balance that right for the movies.
(me too judi but this is a rough crowd to say that in)
*wonders why Judi is putting a hat on Tolkein*
but even in the Lord of the Rings (book) the Hobbits were always singing
Ahhh, it's the hate hat. ;)
eo + to end up in the confessiionary
I will see it anyway, whatever the reviews. I actually saw the first movie in New Zealand. Everyone in the audience seemed to know the locations
ty ru
that's fun, bichon - to live in Middle Earth!

Repeat after me JMC...Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It has been ______ (length of time) since my last confession.
and this is my first time in the PB today tyvm!
maybe we should put a confessional in the PB?
Let us not confuse "time out" with "penalty box".
nope we booted the priests out of our religion
phone
Sure enough. Sorry for impugning you, jmc!
break time for me - I'm going to read a few Tolkien poems :) - see you later
Anyway, I was only passing through. Now I must be on my way, too. Bye, all!

hi bichon. How are you; and how is the grid treating you today?
Just okay. I'm fine [except for this awful weather], but the grid is slow for me today. I only have 65 words
It looks like Molly has been here all morning, soaking her teabag in the tabernacle.

Well, is it?
It is now March 1 here
So we are not here on the same day. I find that so cool.
You've got Monday done with already. Did anything bad happen?
Apparently I am the only one who finds this fascinating.
I am still searching for eo5.
The last week her has had temperatures in excess of 37C (105F) and another week to go the same. We had a freak summer storm that uprooted trees, unroofed houses and wiped out the power to 25000 homes
And in this part of the world that is a very mild day lately
eo + what takes you to the confessional kaplan

some times you get locked out of a particular letter on the grid and all you need is one word to get going :-)
I kn ow the feeling
hi again. Trying to figure out that vo7 clue. It doesn't make any sense to me today
adj of vo5
okay, but how does "to aid another criminal" tie in with that?
hmm
that clue was for a different word
or wasn't that a clue for thatvo 7?
ah got the vo7 ty
was off reading about monocles
ahh! Here I've been trying to understand the impossible! :-)
vo7 is an adjective???
yes; I got it too; I was just trying to see a connection that wasn't there

It seems I slept through the "adjectives and adverbs" part of English.
bye wild
yike molly the rain has hit!
that ending is always an adjective molly
Must be coming up my way from you. Still cloudy and windy here.
we have sunshine here; and 22F
hit is the operative word -- i am in friendship heights today
sleet as well as rain
or maybe that is hail
its nasty here in CT too
torrential rain here -- my yard is a lake and I have a stream running thru my garage . . .
the eastern seaboard has really gotten it in the neck two years in a row
Tons of snow melting right in my backyard
but no tornadoes I hope une!
nope, we've lucked out re straight-line winds and tornadoes -- whew!
i had crocus in my front yard last week
and now for the daily useless bit of information! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubert_Bl aine_Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdor ff
have crocuses and jonquils and helleborus blooming :-)
glad to hear it une I was thinking of you when I saw the news
(and probably being pounded into the mud right now)
no jonquils yet but you can see them and the daffodils coming up
we have freezing rain blooming:((
we still don't have visible ground here; too much snow. AND we will get more this week they say.
what is this bare ground you speak of?
Cross, someone has way too much time on their hands to devise a name like that.
i always wanted to change my name to a symbol and just hand out business cards to show what it looks like;)
I think you folks in DC have a head start on us in the spring bulbs dept.
Cross, Prince already did that. It didn't go over well.
2 inches of rain here in the last 4 hours and 4-5 inches just a bit north of here . . . yuk
ahh yes,the artist formerly known as prince lol,i remember
and we come full circle . . . purple rain purple rain :-)
I'm sure we do Bichon. I know I'm a full month ahead of friends I have in PA. What I'm planting in early April, they don't put in until late April.
Nashville is ahead of us
lol
my friends in texas however are long past the redbud stage (no bulbs allowed--too hot)
Bichon, it's just been so bizarre . . . this morning it was near 70 at 7:00am and tomorrow same time will be 34 degrees!
wow, jmc, redbuds already??
what you plant now,we plant at the end of may, rule of thumb up here is never plant anything till the wueens birthday

Hey all. Back from pediatrician. Better news...not so scary. OK...maybe NOT scarlet fever. Saw our pediatrician this morning. He thinks Dylan has a virus and got the hives as a result. The strep just happens to be secondary. And guess what?!?!? Zack has strep too!!!! Both boys home at least until Wednesday.
I have 2 co7's, but haven't listed yet so not sure what the other one is
Hi Car--scarlet fever is a result of some Strep infections in which the strain of Strep causes the rash. It's easily treated as is
lol! that will keep you busy car!
Strep throat.
don't know whether to say too bad or yea!
hi scrabs
They'll both get better in a few days.
scwabby!
okay then yea!
TY Mary -- got it through a different route...
I am just arriving because it's LUNCH HOUR!! Woo hoo!
Scrabs!!!!! The rash he has is so unlike a scarlet fever rash. It is truly hives as opposed to like sandpaper. The poor boy is covered head to toe, but the intensity of the hives keeps changing areas.
car.ee had a tough weekend, Scrabs; poor kiddo was full of hives all weekend
Is he already on an antibiotic?
whoo hoo for lunch
Started yesterday. Zack just started now.
And now I am thinking maybe I should get a test too.
Hm, hives while on an antibiotic make me say allergic reaction to the antibiotic. There's no way to prove it isn't.
oh-oh
Just had yummmmmmy Subway for lunch!!! : )
yaa i got the last co7!
Hives started first scrabs.
mmmm subway....
No need for rapid Strep test unless Strep throat is suspected (ST, swollen nodes, fever and no runny nose or cough)
Aha, that is GOOD news then. Kids often get hives from illnesses.
hi again, all!
Darn, elongate is a phantom. Grr. I was so proud of myself to see an 8.
Hi Sue
back for a bit - occupational therapist will be here in 20 min, then we go to Dad's regular doctor
benedryl Q4H for a full day had no effect on the itching and rash yesterday, Scrabs. it seemed worrysome when car.ee wanted to know what else to do. We told her to take him in
Has he been doing ok at home?
I took him to the on-call doctor yesterday. Dylan's hives started Friday night, he had been on Benadryl for 24 hours and they weren't any better. He also has a wicked cough, and I was afraid he may not be getting enough air. The nurse looked at Dylan and was shocked by the amount and intensity of the hives. They did a strep test to see if he had strep, although his throat really wasn't looking like it did. Then we saw the Nurse Practitioner who told us his strep was positive and scarlet fever came into the Dx. She was concerned about the extent of the rash and had the doctor come in. The doctor thought it was HSP.
Car, apply cold compresses or ice packs to rash to alleviate the itching.
He is doing pretty well. He is a trooper!
Yes, very well. The only thing he still needs help with is treating his heel and going up and down stairs (rails aren't good in his house). And he can't drive yet, or carry anything that doesn't fit on the walker tray (so I took out the trash).
In addition to the Benadryl, herbal rash cream and oatmeal baths, or instead of?
uusue...I think you have been a tremendous blessing to your Dad this past week! He is making such progress.
sounds like a heavy case of shingles
Approx 30% of kids are Strep carriers during the school yr--they are colonized with Strep but not infected. So, if a rapid Strep test is done when there are no signs of Strep throat it will be falsely positive in up to 30% of kids.
uusue, did your Dad get a sore onhis heel being in the hospital (a pressure sore)?
I agree Sue. I'm sure your Dad is grateful to have you there.
thx, car - it really has made a difference, I think, and we've gotten to spend much more time together than we have in the past, oh, 45 years or so :-)
Are YOU managing ok, Sue?
Blessings in disguise.... : )
yes, nef. It's not bad but needs to heal. It's not on the bottom of his heel, kind of on the back.
I'm actually doing pretty well; it's been a very stressful semester at work so I don't mind being away from that.
Scrabs...if I may ask you...do you think I should also get a strep test?
I hate asking when I know you are on lunch!
Not if you have no symptoms of Strep throat.
pressure sores form there; often on the opposite foot as the hip injury
Throat is sore, but I am also exhausted.
hi eeyore, nef, scrab, sue, and all !!
hi Gwen
Hi Gwen!
If sore throat, and very red tonsils AND soft palate/uvula, and swollen nodes in neck, and fever--think Strep. Also, Strep is not a respiratory illness so if cold/cough symptoms exist that sore throat is part of the cold.
Car, you said he had a bad cough too?
Hi gwen
reminds me of my permanent mono
Horrible.
hi again - sorry to hear about your hive troubles, car -
I don't have any of those signs. Just tired.
hi book
mo
JMC...how are you doing over there?
uusue, did they give you any sort of thick dressing that he wouldn't have to take off for several days; or a sheepskin for the bed?
TY JBV! It has been a looooooooong weekend!
i am fine having a nice day at home
howdy gwen
hi inge
hi crossy, wazap??
but found out my son has his worst test on wednesday so am thinking about a workaround to get to the hospital tomorrow
Dylan coughs through the night, but manages to stay asleep...I on the other hand...cringe with every cough!
went through something similar with my son - his was a case of reaction to lemon juice - we were in Puerto Rico and the kids were squeezing lemons with their hands to make "lemonade" - they didn't drink it, just got it all over themselves, he was the only one who reacted
i am thinking about staying in a hotel overnight
good idea, jmc.
*makes car.e a cup of chamomile tea*
that's a great idea, jmc
I want to stay in a hotel overnight too!!!!!!
but here is the issue...
TY JMC!
if i go to a hotel i want to take my laptop
jmc, you don't go in til when???
phone
jm, is he sick, you mean?
no I think she means he can't pick her up -
Scrabs, *she* needs some tests now
Car, "walking pneumonia" typically starts with a bad sore throat, then often some hoarseness, then a bad cough, and hives are common too!
oooo i found an 8
hello all
Hi aslindy
He had no sore throat or hoarseness. Just the cough. and then the hives.
Yeah Gwen!
Hi aslindy!
(busy weekend for Babblonians!
Well, he certainly is making it difficult to pinpoint a diagnosis. A medical mystery--we find those interesting but parents do not.
Clue for the E in the fourth row please?
sue - are you still planning to be in NJ all week? do you still want to plan a meet up? -
I know! Dylan is one of a kind that is for sure!
e4, it also make a work backwards (s4)
how bout thursday???
hi Doren!
Usually ice chips will quiet his cough done, but not right now. He is hacking in the living room.
hi ... just 15 min. lunch today... gulping and lurking
Got them both! TY!
NBT for me!
do you mean after school? you are working THursday, n'est-ce pas?
Hello all Babblers! This chat is flying and I hope I didn't miss anyone.
Hi Dorens!
8-D
Book... no idea what that clue meant... still looking
So is Dylan on amoxicillin?
hi scrabs. yes, after school, please
that was me, doren
oh, ok, never mind - you're right, chat is flying by
i know. that should hve been hi scrabs... yes, jbv after school please
Whee!
I would love to see you, JBV & Doren, but no NJ trips are planned.
although right now i'd love an excuse to take off on thursday for the whole day!
This has been a tough week to start a diet, let me tell you!
donut diet?
think you should plan one scrabs... we could hike in the woods here and find you a kayak for the lakes as well
The stress and being tired are triggers for me to munch, munch, munch. However I am doing pretty good.
Would be great, Doren! Maybe in the spring.
I think the boys and I may be heading to PA/NJ corner in April. Anyone around there?
bet leslie would like it too
nrkii is there, car!
i'm around an hour away.. depending on where in the corner, car
back sorry i am doing a meeting by proxy so i don't kill anyone including me
Leslie will come up to see me in April.
What are you ill with, jm?
how are you feeling jmc?
I am not sure yet, Dorens. My brother just moved there, so I will let you know the name of the town when I get his new address.
depends on when you are there car.e April is a busy month
only a 10-12-hr drive from me!! lol
hi blood pressure and cholesteral and being old and fat :-)
well if it's near philly corner.. closer to nrkii.. up in the poconos, closer to me
I am in PA car!
His girlfriend works in NYC and rides NJ transit to work from where they live, but they are in PA.
i feel fine since i didn't go to the meeting and i slept in my own bed
ok.. time for exercise and diet?
Peri!
Does anyone still get high school nightmares? Geez, I had one last night--lost, couldn't find classrooms, couldn't find locker, then found locker but didn't know combination...
so here is the help i need. . .i need to think about how to work this mechanical
yes scrabs i still get the i forgot about the big test one
oh, amazing scrabbler - I have those all the time -
how about the test that you didn't study for?
the best are the ones where you open the locker and find all kinds of lost treasures, old saddles shoes, etc
scrabbler, my guess is that you are not dreaming about HS but rather something stressful now, or coming up, and your brain is just substituting HS stress for you. (no charge)
findg this grid to be very hard
I get those all the time - need to finish one class that I forgot and then try to remember my schedule, where my locker is. funny
yes! doren - I had one of those this week - I know exactly why - I was taking Algebra 2 and had never passed algebra 1 (in my dream)
thank goodness, no HS nightmares here
it actually happened to me once in college where i went in late to a class and everyone was writing in blue books
Scrabs...you still here?
lol@ high school nightmares...high school was so long ago,it is all a vague blur to me
I have another question, if that is OK?
so, my new word of the sday is::: econosic
HS was a nightmare.
may I have a clue for the 8's pls
mine are really more college dreams but the same thing
what car.e?
i8 = i + shaped like a round pounty pyramid
Oh, yes, the test that no one told me about...and I tell the teacher, "Hey, I went to medical school, I'm a doctor, why won't you believe me?" But then I have to take the test and I know nothing about European History...
ic8 is religious like
pounty = pointy (OY)
scrab - I have been dreaming in Italian!!
*wonders how a shape pouts*
ty BDG
Scrabs mentioned something about being a strep carrier. Does that mean that they don't really have strep? Will the antibiotics do any good and get rid of the strep germs?
WOW jbv you speak italian?
That's SO stupendo, mia amica, JBV!!!
oh, yes, jmc, getting better at it every day - I go online to an Italian-English forum, so cool
i knew you visited there but that is cool!
i am working on spanish
Gwen, TY for your psychiatric assessment, and YES there is a major stressor now with a family member acting out!
taking classes jmc? or on your own?
i really do need someone to help me think through what i am going to do tonight though
(!) scrabbler. i have spent a lifetime trying to reduce stress for myself. leaving school was a big step forward!
using the rosetta stone after decades of classes not working
Yes, Car, Strep carriage is common during the school yr and antibiotic treatment often does not eradicate it. It just self-resolves after several months.
OK JMC...you have the floor and I am listening....
yes, very true, BGD, about figuring out why these dreams come up - mine was very transparent - I am shopping for furnaces and heating systems this week and I actually said to my sister "I didn't think I'd have to face a test like this so soon" - then the dream!
bbs
TY Scrabs.
Phantom = icosahedron
i had a teeny stress dream last night, nothing compared you scrabbler's, though!
ty car i am thinking about going to a hotel so that i can call a cab in the morning to take me to the hospital and then a cab home
compared to (OY)
For testing, correct?
Gwen, my sleep is ultrasensitive to any stress in my life.
And you mentioned a problem with bringing your laptop?
yes, for an angiogram --but if i go to a hotel i will want to take my laptop and am nervous about taking it to the hospital
(I will need to babble tonight!)
It must be dream analysis day in Babbleland. Kap mentioned a dream she had last night.
Can you stay overnight, go to the hospital for the test, and then go back to the hotel and check out?
Oh, that's why you are going to the hospital. Nope, don't bring it with you unless someone will keep it.
check into the hotel first, leave laptop in secure location?
i do not want to have my sister take me because she just had a friend drop dead of a heart attack and would freak out
sleep is when your brain sorts and stores your daily crap. so, yes, when stressed, you dream about stress.
Understandable. And your son has a test at school, so he is not available.
hmm I wasn't thinking of staying in the hotel but going home after the tests
Last Sept when I stayed at a hotel I told my sister, "Look at that cute little microwave." Well, it was a safe.
the tests are suppose to take 6 to 8 hours
Is it possible to go back to the hotel first and then home from there?
maybe that is the best idea and then just take a book with me
Arrgh...the check out by 11 or pay an extra day.
That's funny Scrab!
but what if they decide i have to stay overnight?
JMC...do you have a Nintendo DS?
which they said was possible.
NTB at last, woot
Yeah Gwen!
Molly, I am rather brain dead at times.
if my son didn't have my damn netbook this wouldn't be a problem! lol
Is your laptop heavy JMC?
wtg book!
well, gonna cut out for now, happy stress-free tests, dreams, and stuff, all!
this one is. it is the one i use as a desktop
Go Gwen go!
bye book have a good day
I got a Nintendo DSi for christmas and it turns out I can go online with the thing. I did play babble once...it is a bit tricky...but it is possible.
Oh Scrab, it's just that I can hear myself saying the same thing. : P
Bye Gwen!
maybe i should just spring for a new netbook which i was thinking of
I am so naive and sheltered, Molly.
i can go on-line with my blackberry but i haven't figured out how to play babble
Oh! JMC....call the hospital. See if they have lockers. Some of them do for day surgery patients to put their belongings in.
Or an iPad, jm!
lol scrabs i went back and read your remark
oh good idea scrabs!
Yep, jm, I am a moron, and I prove it everyday.
good idea too car.e
Seriously JMC. You don't want to be taking valuables with you unless they can be secured. Or unless you have someone with you who can hang onto them.
i tell you we all have our moronic moments
I am looking at upgrading my cell phone to an Android OS smart phone--HTC Aria. Anyone have one?
that is what i am thinking but going to a hotel without my laptop is seriously a bad idea
Our moronic moments sure make life hilarious!
That would solve everything!!!! If not, talk to the Department that you will be having the tests in. Ask them if they have any secure storage for patients having long testing. There has to be something for their purses and stuff.
i have looked at the androids and decided to stick with the blackberry
okay i think i will call the hospital brb
i am holding out for the motorolla atrix scrabby
Meet you back here in a few minutes, JMC>....
I can currently upgrade and get the HTC Aria for a penny!

ahh. yummy lunch of drunken noodles with chicken. ::rubs tummy, happy::
Hi Eva! Sounds yummy!
i try not to get drunk at lunch but the noodles sound yummy;)
heh, not really sure where the name came from, but it is spicy and super-tasty. :)
i think supposedly, they are so hot that you will get drunk from the amount of beverage it takes to cool your mouth...
Are the noodles soaked in the spices? Maybe that is why they are considered "drunk"?
The thai name is Phat Kee Mao. Kee mao meaning 'shit drunk' in Thai might not be the most poetic name for a noodle dish but once you have tried this, you might be wondering how it got it's perculiar name. Here are a few theories; 1) It is so spicy that one would need to drink non-stop till he or she is 'shit drunk' 2) It can wake up the most 'shit drunk' person. 3) Invented by a 'shit drunk' person who happened to just chuck everything in the wok.
LOL! Wonderful!
I just looked at a recipe. Chiles, chiles and more chiles. Wowza. Too hot for me.
back
send me the recipe sounds like my
EvaNadine- hahaha! all of this talk of spicy noodles and booze is making me drool.
damn cat step on the keyboard
yeah, i love it, but it is SUPER spicy. depending on the chef/restaurant, i sometimes come out with my nose running and tears streaming down my face...heh
clue for the second V please? I have vo 5/18.
What did you find out JMC?
Yummmersssssss.
what restaurant are you getting it from; the drunken noodles i have had have not been too spicy
a drunken noodle recipe: http://tinyurl.com/4nc9vdo a recipe for something similar, minus the extreme heat: http://tinyurl.com/4hsanoa
make the vo an adjective
ty evan i will have to make that! yumm
TY!
jmc, my FAVORITE place to get it from is East Street cafe in Union Station. today we got it from Royal Thai in chinatown.
okay car.e they said that i could keep the laptop with me in the room while i am getting the test and then after it i can babble!
the thai place in the food court?
Huzzah! Success!
no, its all the way upstairs, at the end
Oh, oh... I wanna be around for jacked up on anesthesia JMC. : P
i get it at thai chef above dupont circle
On that good note, I am off to get my work finished up, and then watch MegaMind and maybe sneak in a nap.
then i just wont talk to you tomorrow molly :-P
Darn, a patient just showed up. I'll return when I can.
i want to watch megamind too
bye scrabs
Again, I thank you all for your input and kindness while Dylan is sick. It is nice to have such good friends!
JM, good luck tomorrow. My father has been through 4 angios and has done well.
bye car.e hang in there
good to know scrabs
Oh but JMC, you will be talking to EVERYONE tomorrow. Remember Whoopee Goldberg in "Jumpin' Jack Flash"?
Get it an play it on your laptop tomorrow! They whole place iwll be rolling!
You too JMC!
Car, I want to make sure people are getting the right info and care.
it would not be a worry if my son could take me and pick me up
car - how didi you get on with the hives?
I appreciate it so much. I know this is a place for you to come and relax from your work Scrabs. {{nhugs}}
And {{hugs}} of thanks to all of you! BBL!
huh? will i see my hubby and his best friend who died 2 years ago? is that what you mean?
Kazz...quick update....definitely hives. They came first. Dylan is just overloaded with them. The strep is secondary illness. My son Zack was tested today and he also tested positive so both are on antibiotic and home at least until WEdnesday.
right before the friend died i dreamed (it's dream day today) that I was trying to call him to tell him that my hubby was waiting with cigars and bourbon and ganga and ready to swap tall tells
good evening everybody
Hi Ruby! How are things today?
thanks car - hope that they both get well soon
hi ruby
*still waiting for molly to explain reference*
hi ruby - how are you and hubby today
hi kazz
hi jmc - i am having a weird day today folks - another lack of action day in work and a seeming lack of brain power - had ridiculous problems with word and excel today
weird in a funny good way or in a pain in the ass way?
Thank you Kazz. Sorry to hear about your day. Ugh. Frustrating!
i knew what i wanted them to do but none of it worked so i gave up and did admin instead - p in a day
husband just informed me that he weighs 65 instead of 55 kg. He had me reALLy worried, now, less so.
and my new shoes hurt my toes
too bad but some days it is best to give up and try again the next day
Damn shoes!
*makes a hot tub of water with epsom salts for kazz*
Whew Ruby!
oh good ruby!
annoying about the shoes; try puttingf them on for a little while each day with heavy socks to stretch them
oooh lovely its already working just thinking about it. thats what i love about babbling - bad day at work? come here and be cheered up or at least relieve a bit of tension
Reminds of the song, "shoes don't stretch, and men don't change"!
sounds like a country song.....
that sounds v familiar
It is! It is really good too!
kaz, I have some lovely Dulce de Leche ice cream to cheer you up
Amy Dalley sings it.
This is the chorus:
Cupid works for the devil be suspicious if he cries You know sex is usually good, yeah but it ain't always right Chocolate is a bandaid no matter what they say Shoes don't stretch, and men don't change LOVE IT!
what a great lyric!
anyway after thi brief conver and a quick swear at the grid - still got 92 to find - i must go and cook curry (cheats curry - chicken and co-op jalfrezi sauce) for diner - hubby home late tonight

I can't find car.'s word!
down to 29 -- enough for me -- getting tired of grids with so many supposedly english words nobody has ever heard before
JMC, I was talking about "Jumpin' Jack Flash" not "Ghost".
What about us English struggling with American spellings Cyber?! And those wretched archaic Scots words that not even most Scots use!!
I just take the grid as it is... enjoying it and loving the game. ( some minor grumbling, but I keep it to myself ) I'm just thankful for the game, ...period !
oh well do don't get what you are talking about molly no matter
I give up with 88 left. Good night everybody and good luck with your test, jmc (I just caught the tail-end of that)
so4/6 ruby

the grid is pretty bad stiddie
male jerk....hmm
blast. oh well... LOL
hey ruby -- is your huband's name in the grid? *innocent mama look*

hi, all - ducking in briefly between the occupational therapist and the trip to the doctor...
hi uu how is it going? getting a lot of reading done in the waiting rooms?
the news here said winter is pretty much off the radar for the city
yw crossy
Hi Cos. Did you and the dog have a fun Oscars party last night? : P
*wonders how weather can be off the radar*
i did... i predicted 6 out of 7 of the big awards. my best record yet
actually, no, jmc; most of the action has taken place at home. We'll see with the doc.
supposed to be in the 80's today. yellow crocuses are blooming.
oh well that is nice of them to come there
i wondered the same thing jmc.. but they say they don't expect any more snow or freezing weather
i used to sign all of my center's thank you notes while sitting waiting for my mother to do her physical therapy
too dark and rainy for the crocus to open up here today
I took that comment to mean that they don't expect to see any more winter weather on their radar screens this year.
i am thinking about going out and indulging myself with a second netbook
that makes sense molly
yeah thats basically it molly :)
if i only had a brain *dances a little jig*
can someone clue the ac7 ?
And good for you Cos. Glad to hear that your blustery, winter days are over.
ac7....first part of caustic substance in a battery + what you smell with
good clue.. thanks
ty molly
No problem Cos. I've been trying to improve my cluing skills since someone inferred they were "unimaginative".
how can that be?
ive always appreciated your clues
all clues are imaginative unless you just spell out the word
You know how some people get about cluing here. I didn't take it to heart.
and you don't do that
ty molly
true molly
some folks be just too critical
i keep trying alcove ugh
the only thing that annoys me is when if i ask for stats and they give me a whole clue
but even then it is thoughtful of them to clue the word
morning - temps just dropped 20 degrees! So much for spring
i have only been able to use the v in the words that start with it
hi hoot
try al + what they call a guy in jail
then extend it
hihihi
hmmmm
????
It was, what I would consider an "overly critical" remark. JMC, I've seen people give you clues instead of stats, when you ask for stats. But I don't call them out on that. I try to play nice.
well its not alcon lol
are you flooded hoot?
DAM ! an
i am sorry were you saying I was being overly critical? I try not to be but i dare say I am sometimes
we had a lot of rain yesterday but not flooding. That was mostly north of us
une is definitely flooded
No, I was referring to your comment "some folks just be too critical"
was a nice 74 when I got up this morning - now 52
oh okay because i really try
The comment to me about my cluing was critical.
i think learning to get al*** in the chog has made me a better person
well f%&@'em if they can't take a joke I say!
one of favorite expressions of my hubby
Or, joke 'em if they can't take a...never mind.
lol!
oki give up.. al 6 please? :)
al + short Italian name for Nicholas.
al + 5 cent piece shortened _ viwel
that is the name of my new german intern
who, like every other intern i have had from germany, smokes! grumble
thanks!!!
but no pl for an 8 :-(
okay I have decided to indulge myself so I need to go buy the netbook fast before I waver
<=== wavering already
run to the store! run! :)
or order it online and pick it up :)
Quick JMC. Get your butt to Best Buy! NOW!
i told my son i wanted to keep one at my chair and one in my bedroom and leave my work computer for work in my office
Cos...Get your butt to Best Buy NOW...would have worked in "Crazy People".
ooh good idea cosd less time in the toxic space of best buy!
lol tyes molly
i do that when im wavering.. i buy online then pick it up same day
brb i will consult as to what i should buy
how about a Toshiba - Mini Netbook / Intel® Atom™ Processor / 10.1" Display / 1GB Memory / 250GB Hard Drive - Blue for $279?
ooh thats a good deal
or Asus - Eee PC Netbook / Intel® Atom™ Processor / 10.1" Display / 1GB Memory / 250GB Hard Drive - Deep Red for $299 which would be a duplicate of what I have that my son is using now
u can gett he same things with the tobisha.. the only difference i can see is the brand name
and i personally like tobisha
it is .1 lbs lighter
and red rather than blue
true... its only a 20.00 difference too
okay you talked me into it cosdem (or should I look at apple?)
i know nothing about apple but i do know theyre more reliable
I would love a netbook, but isn't the name toshiba??
probably nick.. i just dont remember how to spell it :)
ok..dumb blond question moment
what is the name of the link convertor that takes big links and makes them small?
okay the mac stuff is too expensive
tinyurl.com
i like my netbook mich--it was easy to carry around kenya
tinyurl.com
www.tinyurl.com
thanks molls
Cos beat me to it Carlee.
My son and I have Toshiba laptops and we like them.
i think for a total indulgence i will go with the toshiba for $20 less and convince myself that it means i am being frugal
thats what i would do too jmc :) "see i saved 20 bucks!"
oh wait there is a Asus - Eee PC Netbook / Intel® Atom™ Processor / 10.1" Display / 1GB Memory / 160GB Hard Drive - Black for $259!
I'll look into it.
I'll look into it.
thanks all..i was having a complete brain fart on that one
thats even better jmc
and i knew if i ducked in here someone would know!
i am saving left and right! lol
how about samsung?
New! Samsung - Netbook / Intel® Atom™ Processor / 10.1" Display / 1GB Memory / 250GB Hard Drive - Black for $249

ty jmc
there is a cheaper gateway who i used to love but the last two gateways i bought were terrible
gateway isnt too bad.. i always have issues with acers
any news if they have come back to being a good company?
my acer has been a delight
i know and thats what puzzles me.. everyone has no problems with acers... just me...i know theyre supposed to be very good
Gateway - Netbook / Intel® Atom™ Processor / 10.1" Display / 1GB Memory / 160GB Hard Drive - NightSky Black for $229 but no spill proof keyboard
gateway used to be a fabulous company but the original owner sold it out and it was terrible then the original owners bought it back and it is adequate
hi again, can I get a clue for co 7/36. Either one, there are two.
i think it is worth the $20 for a spill proof keyboard
i agree jmc
sorry annie im working on the co words now if i find it before you do ill let you know :)
Rule of thumb: Don't buy any electronics that are made in China or Mexico. Japan and US made are good.
co7/36 is a shape that make witch hats

ding ding ding!
my boy used to get co 5/15 terrible as a baby, even now that he is 17 and all this time has passed,i can still smel the smell of grippe water in my mind lol
rats i don't know any tennis players that babblers don't have a crush on or are black
never used it cross just walked him and patted him into the night
personally,i think grippe water was just to give the parents something to do lol\
Grippe water?
never heard of grippe water
then he got croup:(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gripe_wat er
the first in6 please?
i am not really sure what it is except it is used for co***y babies
is that not the in+hole in fence?
thats the 2nd in6
oh
Must have come out after my kids were babies. Although they never had colic, so I wouldn't have known about it anyway.
it was around before you were born molly
see my link, gripe water has been around since 1851;)
in 6----you have to report your in**** to the IRS
i think it is mainly british though
found it
thanks!
Strange. In all the interactions I have had with other Moms, never heard of the stuff.
of course annie!
plural it, cos
huge in the U.K molly
i only know about it from british novels
Must be a cultural thing. I had never heard of Gravol until Dan either.
it is more of a naturopathic treatment
gravol?been around forever as well
for those that do not travel well
Well that's great Cross. But it's mostly unheard of here and pharmacies don't carry it.
too bad,gravol is handy stuff
i bet you have it in one form or another, just under a different brand name
isn't the dame thing as dramamine?
as i am sure american also puke in planes;)
*same
It is under different Trademark names in diffferent countries
Yeah, we puke in planes and we take dramamine.
gravol=Dimenhydrinate= a relative of dramamine
so the mystery is solved lol
I thought gravol was for nausea in general, not motion sickness. What do I know? Stupid Yank.
or get stoned on it
I thought it was for making gravy - oh no wait - that's Gravox
in US marketed under brand names Dramamine, Driminate, Gravol, Gravamin, Vomex, and Vertirosa
cvrossy love wikpedia;)
lol lynxxx
goody i can take the metro to the hotel
"Dimenhydrinate works to relieve or prevent nausea and vomiting by affecting the vomiting center in the brain." WE HAVE A VOMITING CENTER IN OUR BRAIN?
lol i insist they take that out!
how will i keep my brain clean with that?
This could explain a lot. Perhaps there is an "acts like an asshole" center of the brain as well.
*grabs a box of smelly vomit clean up crystals*
i am sure there is a centre for everything and everyone molly, the brain is an amazing thing;)
lol i think you are probably right molly
lol. There would be no chat logs if we didn't have centralized brain vomitting.
lol
one big protein spill
i could chat without vomiting
anyone know what those green crystal things they clean up vomit with are?
I leave for an hour or two and look what happens.
Hence the term: "Pablum puking".
just warming up kaplan;)
i leave to eat lunch and i coem back to vomiting? :)
and projectile pureed peas
Fireworks, by the way.
It's pork or puke with you Crossy, huh?
yaa for judi!!
congrats Judi!
nope, first time we have delved into puke in a long while
la8 ?
I thought vomitting was a stomach rejection thing, not a brain thing.
Nice choice of words.
whoo hoo judi
projectile vomiting was how they found my hubby's first brain tumor
I sometimes get more out of the chat than the puzzle-today that is not the case!:-(
sorry the chat has not amused you cherry
Well, to each his own.
Ah ha. Well, I guess I can see how the brain can send the stomach a garbled message.
i found it amusing but there you have it
Well, as thrilling as this stomach evacuation discussion is, I really must pop off to do real work again. Tomorrow, all! *POOF*
i promise next chat will be about food, sex or world peace ok? lol
i vote sex
I'll second that vote cos
OK, go for it.
i can go either way
See, they talk but when you ask for some action...
You can go either way? Explain.
either talk about sex or about world peace
where was your mind? *looks in gutter*
I was asking for a simple clarification of an ambiguous statement.
:)
yeah i just got a new book in the mail!
how about world peach that involves sex?
World Peach?
la8 starts with word for laid back but has a belief end instead of 'ic'
well peaches are good as well
how about the leaders of isreal and PLO having sex then that would lead to world peace... we all know theres so much sexual tension between them
make love not war *hops on the band wagon*
It would be incenstuous.
lol cosd!
Incestuous.
must be something going on cause they are compensating for something lol
exactly crossy! lol
ty lynxxx
lo7.36 a belief in being crazy - a lot around here
hmm loonism didnt work lol
what kiind of chat did I just stumble into?????
found it thanks lynx
lol ty lynxxx there is a word i can use in day to day conversation
You came right on time, Mich
well,it is about sex,gripe water,world peace,and bacon
mich - we're all excited because tomorrow is March!!
so that makes us weird today
in being crazy yourself? in others being crazy? in being crazy is good???
well,i just tossed the bacon in there....
ah, and that means.... Spring has sprung??
The PLO and Israel werethrown in for spice?
still stuck on co 7/40... both of them
My german staffer has been weirded out by the weather
oh crossy i was watching the food network last night and they were airing cupcake wars
It is already March in Australia.
and they had an elvis presley cupcake... and they had bacon on it and in it
i thought of you
co7/40= wheel in machine+Mr Hawthorne
change the last 3 letters for the next one
yes cosdem,i have seen the bacon muffin s,they are a tasty breakfast treat
It will be March here in less than an hour. but it is adar already, which is also reason to be crazy
Bacon on a cupcake? There goes the vomiting center of my brain.
what is adar?
Be happy, it's Adar.
A Hebrew month.
it had fried bananas, peanut butter, and bacon in it
thanks jm
When Purim is. Also a crossword puzzle word
i am making a bacon and egg pie for brekkie tomorrow;)
is it the leap month?
Li 7 please?
yw sammy
Adar is the current Hebrew (Jewish) month, this year there are two. It is the happiest month of the year.
no brekkie tomorrow
no jmc.. leap months only occur during a presidential election year
How do you make it, cross? I like interesting breakfasts.
It is also the learp month
why is it happy?
Can you imagine having two Februaries? I would die.
hi foam
http://australianfood.about.com/od/sav orybaking/r/EggPie.htm
there u go foam
february in texas is usually a pleasant month
thank you!
The holiday of Purim commemorates the Jewish nation overcoming and over turning a harsh decree.
li7 to make someone out to be a hero - build on the animal
oh because of Purim?
li7 is to make much of a person
It happened during the time of the Persian empire, around 500 BCE

Exactly, JMC, the story of Purim. I am reading an interesting book that brings wonderful sources from Persia and Babylon that tell the same story.
Congrats Hoot!

ty Kaplan
YW
hey all. I have another few minutes... finished the second revision of the day!
hi Stid
yay stid, and hi, all!
LOL And my APA style stinks, sue! oh well...
So my dad just got a letter from his wife's lawyer.
hi Sue
hey lynxxx! how's *tries to count hours ahead and back* Tuesday morning?
APA style- yuck
Oh, UU, that is so hard. How is he taking it?
oh boy sue. *worried, sad mama look*
It's so restrictive and bossy.
conic
Yes Tuesday morning
Oooooppps
Is he OK Sue
Byeeee...........
thanks Mich! LOL
bye Kaplan ((hugs))
ok, but he's not happy.
She's going to be filing for divorce. Stupid if you ask me.
*gentle thoughts for sue's dad -- and sue*
grrrrrr.
Called my SO, who has a law degree; as he says it's going to wind up costing a lot more than it needs to.
If anyone had trouble understanding the expression, "kicking a man when he's down"; ask sue & her dad.
No shit.
thats horrible... she doesnt deserve your dad at all
(sorry)
sounds like she is really operating out of a lot of fear -- panic.
hopefully it won't be as bad as you fear, sue.
And quite possibly egged on by her son; what is happening now is not what he told me would happen (and this letter was written before he told me that).
They were married how many, 36 years?
well, I thought I could spend more time, but getting a migraine suddenly.
Well, she's saying he can't touch their assets and she'll be filing for divorce; how much worse could it be?
It was 35 years in December.
Sue, my heart is sad for you and for your father. everyone, be well. *poof*
too many ism's and ing's in this grid...argghh
I noticed that, seaspray :-)
im sorry for saying this sue but she seems like shes a cold heartless b****
Yeah, it is seeming like that to me too :-(
i really do hope it works out in the end for everyone
how can she tell what he can and cannot do...i f he has assets, he should move them...NOW
I mean, she has her own issues, but still!!!
I agree with cosdem. Did your dad ever have an ok relationship w/the son? I have a hard time understanding how/why people do this to each other.
They're joint assets; once he gets the letter he can't touch them.
And no, my dad and the son don't get along.
She can't touch the joint assets either (although she already emptied out their safe deposit box). Grrrr.
then she should have to declare what was in there shouldn't she?
of course he can contest all of this can't he?
Got to run. Bye everyone. Hope this doesn't hold back your Dads revovery Sue...and glad you are still there with him
Does he know what was in the safe dep box? is the house jointly owned? This is such a mess!
Everything is joint. I think he has a right to know what she took but I don't know if that's a legal right. Aargh.
I guess every states laws are different...The person I work for is going througha divorce right now and I had to supply all the info, over 8 million in assets, talk about a mess!
and it doens't matter if the assets are jointly owned or not, they each get half
Just be glad ur not in California.. otherwise she would automatically get 50%
Oh, it is so hardl Good luck Sue, you and your dad should both have the strength you need to see this through.
Right, but somebody has to count how much there is before deciding how much half is. This is where the lawyers make all their money.
I feel bad for your Dad sue, especially at his age...it must be very difficult
yep! the lawyers are getting rich
Thanks for all the thoughts, everybody - it is truly a difficult time - fortunately he is very strong (and I am putting up a good front)
do you have siblings, sue?
Not surviving (another long story). My sister has two children but they are not that close to my dad (and they live in NH anyway, closer than I am but not close)
Gads Sue. I just read back in the chat. Poor Dad.
Yes - we are regrouping - what do they call this, the "new normal"? It kind of sucks.
oh, so you are really dealing with this all on your own; be strong! We are here for you, as much as we canl
thanks, mich - it really does help to have a community that I can chat with :-)
This is such a safe place.
hang in there sue, I will be glad to share what I have learned if need be
i do believe in karma. she needs to be careful. maybe its all a misunderstanding? maybe she's scared and her son talked her into it?
thanks, seaspray (you don't know any divorce lawyers in northern NJ, do you?)
yes, cos, I am worried about that.
is there a way you can maybe talk to her alone?
Sorry, I'm in MD...Does your Dad have an accountant? sometimes they will refer
Where in NJ are you, sue? My bro-in-law is a lawyer, not divorce but he's worked in firms in both Philly and Cherry Hill.
Oh, that's South Jersey, where is my brain today???
Good Afternoon! uu, when are you scheduled to go back...?
hi, red, right now I am scheduled to return on Saturday but will stay longer if needed,
mich, I'm in northern NJ, near Morristown and Somerville.
Sounds like Dad is doing alright, but there are the financial issues? or some such?
he's called one lawyer (who is busy at the moment) so we are still searching.
Oh, I know that area. I can ask my bro-in-law anyway. He works in Princeton now too.
Red, his wife is filing for divorce.
thanks, mich!
sue the person I work for resides in WV, I am in MD (some of his assets are in MD, PA, WV, and SC) his spouse resides in PA and filed there...did she file in NJ?
Ahh, messy. and unpleasant.
sorry to but in, but in 5?
Sooo, he had to get an attorney who practices in PA and knows their laws
I guess when you are dealing with 8 mil. in assets it is even messier.
She hasn't filed yet, but it will be in New Jersey, yes.
And I don't have any in words, bichon :-)
Worth remembering folks. If you share a safety deposit box with someone, make sure you have a copy of what is in it somewhere safe. That way, if that person cleans it out, you know what was taken.
ahhh, at least he can get a local attorney then
in + abbrevation for company + high letter on top row
Right, he just doesn't know any.
I have the in6 only.
got it, cos, thx!
ty cos
or abbreviation for in disguise?
yw all
red, I'll take a clue for the in 6
me too, red!
think of someone who is not grateful and get rid of one of the letters....
got it red, thx, good clue!
I have that 6, I needed the one after the 5
People often forget that marriage is a legal partnership and do not treat it as such, regarding finances.
money you earn bich
ty again cos
It is just so hard to come to terms w/the fact that the person you have joined your life with may some day turn against you.
That's true Mich. And I think you have to live through someone doing it to you, or watch it happen to someone close to get practical about things. Always hope for the best, but be prepared for anything.
glad you got it!
prepared for anything is good advice Molly
clues for the 2 co 7/40 plz..
Indeed. But at their ages it is still pretty unusual, I think (at least the people at the rehab center seemed pretty flabbergasted).
fireworks.
Anyway, I've updated my profile with the latest, so don't have to keep monopolizing the chog :-)
Congrats Cos!
Yay, cos!
Sounds like the son is trying to ensure his inheritance. Or am just a wee bit too cynical
Congratulations cosdem!!!
I agree uusue, if my parents (who are in their early 60's were to tell me they were getting divorced...it would blow me away.
and how to sort out their assets at this time is a little scary.
cos.. congrat.. do u have a clue for the 2 co 7 /40 plz
Indeed. And early 60s is one thing; late 80s is another.

hi all
hi, peri, uusue, sammys, helenab, et al
hi, dc and peri!
hmmm - I am extending the ic4.5 in various ways but haven't found the right one so far.

I dont mind being beaten. It matters not.
I did not know you could choose the amount of rounds. I think I started that one and I did not choose 10 rounds but it is ok. she is winning as usual
could have done with a free word, this grid harder than it seems
I like to win :)
this grid is a toughie

I have 86 left and it is difficult.
this grid is a sassy lil bucket

peri and nef, I don't know, this is coming from her, not him.
did she forget: in sickness and in health?
I haven't talked to her since she left; I've talked to her son, and he told me she was going for separation rather than divorce, but when he said that she'd already been to the lawyer. So I am not happy with him either.
I think so, peri.
:(
Or at least it apparently meant she could get sick as long as he was healthy, or something.
(((uusue))) and hugs to your Dad too.
sounds like a selfish woman to me, usue
Hug your Dad for me usue
and some for you too ((((uusue)))
hi everyone
hi welki
All I can say is wow. I'm trying to imagine being married to someone and basically dumping him if he got sick. That just doesn't compute for me. :-(
hi welki

hi, welki!
ha. finally got the ic8, now nbs :-)

poor suefrad
Hi Sue
yuck, sue!
oh yuck Sue
the mix killed my appetite, as I recall...
yuck. I hope that you are good and empty
phantom: monocle
I mixed it with Crystal Light and it tastes MUCH better. I dont like Gatoraid
here they have you put the small container of miralax in a 2 litre of drink
oh fun, sue -- i've been there, done that. The colonoscopy itself is no prob -- it's the prep...
having to repeat a colonoscopy isn't fun (just ask my DH!)
So it's like a cream filled doughnut?
The colonoscopy prep is not like a cream filled donut@
lol
ugh sue..that peglyte crap?
it's horrible! horrible! horrible!
I had to take a ferry after the final prep and drive to the hospital. Depended on Depends!
yep, its my 3yr check up
yes, the new prep is much better , with miralax
the two times i've done the prep it wasn't too bad really
I farted and orange water came out
oh yes
not fun, mind you, just not too bad
lol Monkey
Sorry, I should have indicated that I was responding to Mom about the pakzi stuff.

I did the 40pills once and thought I was going to die

I remember that Molly

suefrad -- sorry, don't have any ac words yet. And did you see the question for you at 6:13?
I knew you would Mom. I think they do still make it.
Just waiting for the potatoes to boil.... company coming for supper
all it ever did for me was give me bladder infections...
ac 5, 16 has gerund ending
Oh wow Nef. Bad PR for Calgon.
yep they do
ty bugs
just fish me where I stand
hi diane!
i have a joke, would that help?
yeah. a lot of women can't take bubble baths for that reason
I know what you mean, Nef. same here
it is the only one I found when she asked :(
suefrad -- please see question at 6:13
*hits Sue with large flounder* Thwack
please TO tell your joke
That is just a big rip off. Bubble baths are the best.
The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's occupation. "He's a funeral director," she answered. "Interesting," the newsman thought. He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years.
After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she had first married a banker when she was in her early 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, and a preacher when in her 60's, and now in her 80's, a funeral director.
ah, thanks for the hugs, all - Dad and I are going to watch another episode of Foyle's War. Back later. Love you all!!
The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.
love you too, uusue
bye uu
bfn uu -- enjoy!
bye uu
ac7?
what is the punch line TO?
**wishing TO would type faster**
suefrad -- please see question at 6:13!
too far down
cant see it anymore
ac7 ac & vwl & as plain as the **** on your face
on my 32oz of mix and running out of time...
She smiled and explained, "I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go."
sue, can you make a Babble Expert of Macs?
ty got it
lol TO, that is a hoot
lol - very good TOwl
oh, too late -- I asked (twice) if you were computer savvy enough to make a Babble Expert for Macs.
Very cute TO!
hey lyn!!!
Good one, TO!
LOL, TO!
that joke should have been a fish!
Hello everyone, was just finishing up but had to wait for TO's punchline
Did anyone else have parents or an older sibling who swung them back and forth and threw them into bed to that? One for the money...
Yes it should, bugs!
my sweetie did that to the boys
i did molly!
That is a GREAT childhood memory. I did it to my kids too.
except i hit the wall
80 left here and time for morewords with this beast -- but I won't have time to finish anyway --- early supper and bridge night (if it doesn't snow again as it did about half an hour ago.
:-) littlebit
Poor lilbit!!!
aw poor littlebittie :(
but it was funny though
enjoy bridge tonight Jilli
i didn't hit too hard
That explains a few things, bittie
I bet your sibling got in trouble too, littlebit!
hehe yes it does!!
hehe
I remember my kids begging for One For The Money. That and this thing I did where I laid on the floor and flipped them over my knees. We called that Balooie.
how much has the snowed accumulated where you are Jillli?
no...it was my dad!
Please be safe at night on those icey roads!
Lilbit, was your Dad the template for Homer Simpson? DOH!
Must go - bye all. Lots of weird words in this so don't forget to list and use Morewords
bugs, it didn't settle at all -- there were just a whole lot of big flakes and driving through that in the dark is no fun.
lol, could have been!
bye bye (((Lynxxx)))
But it's stopped now.
That just sounds like something Homer would do to Bart or Lisa.
yes it does
The roads are not icy.
well, be safe then. No game is worth a night in a cold, dark ditch
Exactly, bugs. I warned my bridge partner -- "If it's snowin' I ain't goin'"
I am off for now too. Happy gaming all
bye bugs
Bye bugs (btw, I love my Felicity)
bye bye Bugsaw
bye lyn and bugs
aclue pls for the top right e?
In case anyone is wondering, Felicity is my GPS and Bugsaw introduced me to hers when she drove us to Olympia in August for the Babble get-together.

niters, bodz. What time is it for you?
Remember that line from Roseanne Barr- something about men liking to read maps because they like the idea that one inch =100 miles.
amazing, bodz

Yetta is a dirty old lady.
ROFL kap!!!
LOL kap!

Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
she can crack you up; just don't let her take over, Kap. :-)
hi kap hi min hi ru
Kap, please don't tell me that we are going to have to deprogram you in a few weeks.
hi minv
hey there TO
Darn! My dog is squished in the chog. Look better in profile. This is the best picture I have of my dog Jack
hi Min. What kind of dog is Jack, Min?
hi ruru
kap missed my joke.
Is this better?
He's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Nef.He's the first dog that I've ever loved. I used to really dislike dogs.
if it is squished is it a flapjack?
Good evening friends!
LOL rururocks!
hi car!
Hello car.eeyore! How are you doing?Welcome to grid
Hit refresh folks.
Hi TO!
Hi Min!
Aren't you gonna ask me if this is a self-portrait?
Min....your dog is BEAUTIFUL!
is he really needy? I have a friend with one and that dog is just an attention whore! Lately my friend can't even talk on the phone because the dog starts yowelling
HiT O, Nef, Minver, car, everyone
Wow Kap! You are HOT!!!!
Kap! That's you isn't it? It's you. I know it's you. Of course it's you.
who is it, Kap? I don't think it's you.... ;-)
Thanks car.eeyore!
Veronica Lake. But it COULD be me.
Kap, next time the person who asked if Yetta was you is on, tell them you finally posted a picture of yourself.
Ha-ha!
love "one touch of venus"!
have not seen it in ages though
Love Sullivan's Travels.
My dog loves to have my attention as well, but he lets me talk on the telephone and babble on the computer
gee, when does she get her own day on tcm? must google her birthday
Min...my mom and both boys think Jack is so cute!!!1
she's beautiful. Do you suppose they used photo shop back then too? I don't think so, but she is really gorgeous
Actually,Jack's lets me Babble a lot better than hubby
My cat is a whore-cat. She works the street. She goes out every night around dinner time and meows at people coming home from work.
They didn't use photoshop- just good makeup and lighting.
No Nef, a little gauze, but no Photoshop. Those women were REALLY gorgeous.
oh a prostitutty
are kap and i the only folks present who have heard of her?
Thanks car.eeyore.That is also an exceptionally good picture of him. He doesn't look as good in other pics.
heard of who?
I have heard of her, but don't know very much about her.
TO, I've heard of her; but never was big on movies.
veronica lake
Oh hell no. I know who Veronica Lake is. And Myrna Loy and all the other classic movie ladies.
And technically, we're not even old enough. Veronica Lake.
Carole Lombard.
I have seen Veronica Lake movies.
kap hy do you suppose her movies are not shown much?
Lombard and Gable- hot hot hot.
she was gorgeous
Damned if I know.
Believe it or not, that picture is from a cell phone and it turned out beautiful.Want to blow it up & frame it.
There's a movie "I Married a Witch" that was the idea for Bewitched. But very different.
Who are we talking about- the dog or Veronica Lake?
I just re-emerged from morewords to see Min has arrived with a lovely photo of her dog -- which would be lovelier if it had been cropped square. Just scroll down my profile to see where to do that!
Min, I'm glad your dog isn't crazy like my friends' dog. I've always suspected that my friend has made her dog needy. She was talking about getting another dog recently to keep her Ginger company; but I told her that I didn't think that was a good idea.
Rita Hayworth. I love that line in Shawshank where Red hushes Andy up because he needs to see Rita do "that shit with her hair".
I am missing 2 O's from the right side...I have oi 6 & 7 and on 5 & 6...what am I missing please?
Oh- are we looking for words?
Wish I could own 2 Cavaliers,but they're so expensive
I am...sorry to interrupt! : p
I always miss that oi.
I always miss that oi.
on4, car.ee
I now have on 4/5 as well.
Sprite has a Cavalier too -- a ruby.
Or as the Scarecrow said, "oi* *** what?"
Hello all who arrived while I was morewordsing
Hi Jillibus!
hello, all. can I ask how many words today?
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
So I am still missing 1 O...
2 words to half way...
Min, I ho[pe you saw my suggestion at 6:54
there's the o that is like the whale but without the r in it
3 here to half Nef!

Glad to oblige.

er, that is an example of a word that IS in the grid. sorry!
Well, I give up -- have to go and get an early supper. 136/61 and I can't find the second in6/24 even with morewords -- any clues?

I don't have any IN words. Sorry.
Or goil. How could we not allow goil? We allow BOY.

Silver, certain people would send you to the ficticious penalty box for that
one co7/36 is the shape of a dunce's hat
I have co 7/40.
the first co 7./36 I need
I know Nef; that's why I apologised. It was a tired mistake..2am here in Sevilla
one co7/36 is to be very succinct
Silver, don't sweat it. The PB is a fun place to go; lots of cholits and cabana boysthere!
co7/36 -- add not out to the tummyache
Hello Silver Rocket! How are you? Welcome to the grid
Sevilla? Beautiful!
Cabana boys huh? Now I wonder what my girlfriend would say about that ;)

Getting ice cream for the boys....any takers?
I have been to spain.. but mostly on the plains
Do you live in Sevilla?

The hives are back on his face. : (
Ty for asking Molly!
Are they chickenpox?
boo, car.ee Sorry to hear that

Well I've never been to Spain, but I kinda like the Beatles

pains me to say so
Three Dog Night?
Ahh, lovely Dorens! I'm at the university here too :) born and raised here - never left Andalusia in my life. Hoping to change that next year...
Poor kid.
Aw Car. It's so hard when their cute little faces are marked up. I hope he feels better soon. Yes, 3 Dog Night.
Two cat night.
Is street kitty still out on the stroll Kap?
No, she is curled up next to me. Busy night.

i wish i could rent a cat
haha, TO
oooh Lil, no, but it sounds kind of interesting
i'm sure you could borrow one
No- was it good?
It got lousy reviews- but was it fun?
i don't know Kap, i see ads for the DVD now as a rental
I was thiking about renting it
alcazar, the cathedral, casa de pilatos -- the jewish quarter... i loved it
I stayed in Segovia for about a week, and then in Barcelona- about 6 years ago. I miss being able to travel. It hurts.
I can't believe it was so long ago.
Lil, I'm not a Christina Ag fan, so I've paid scant attention to the reviews for that flick.
No Christina, no Gaga- what will we do with you?
ooh barcelona... even better. i was there ... wow, i just realized it was 9 years ago. big gaudi centennial or some such, and he was the main reason i went there anyway... just icredible
I do like Christina.. great voice
Gaga can gogo as far as I am concerned
I hear that, Kaplan. I've never travelled, so lovely as this city is, I feel a bit claustrophobic here. I want to get ouuut
: ( Jane Russel died.
I hadn't travelled in 30 years- then we went again, and I just felt my life open up again.
She did? When?
Suze Rotolo (the girl on The Freewhelin Bob Dylan cover) also died.
Now I have to find my Jane russell icon.
When Zsa Zsa goes, I don't know what I'll do.
Today Kap, I just read about it. : (
yes.. poor zaza doesn't have a chance
she doesn't have a leg to stand on

Yes I had such a scroll bar but it has disappeared.
too many words for your browser?
i've had it before- couldn't fix it but eventually went away
hi all
ahh, that happens when someone puts too many letters in one line. it makes the wrap around go all wonky...technical term there! lol
hi jmc
There you are JMC. I was just checking in to see if you were here before I turned in. All settled in at the hotel?
now it's gone. Someone said it was ruru's fault for being too excited about FW; but I didn't get the scroll bar til about 5 minutes ago (and his cheering was well before that
ty and good night, if your'e fighting a battle, hope tomorro is better
je - are you not home?
yes and have a cab called for 5:50 a.m.
no i checked into a hotel as an easier way to get a cab in the morning at the crack of dawn
so you'll go in by cab at the crack of dawn?
LOL! sorry
yes then i will get a cab home with any luck at all! :-)
what are you doing about your computer?
Well good lady, you are going to be just fine and I am sending all my care, concern and good thoughts with you in the morning.
Enjoy your stay in the hotel! We are at home with a new puppy and probably going on shorter trips for awhile.
i outrageously bought a new netbook (boy has my other one) and I am bringing it with--the admissions said i could keep it with me

and hi, stid!
thanks Nef, that is what I am doing -- migraine prevents pushing too hard this evening.
thanks for the sauce word!
ty dc
are the first an5 and an7 related?
Oh, Stidmama - you're a migraine sufferer? I feel your pain there. Lying down in the dark may be more beneficial than a computer screen though?
Dang! I can't stay awake now
ah, NBT
yay, stid!
wtg stid
thanks Rocket. I slept for nearly three hours and the meds are starting to work.
nm, found them
Ah, I get you. Best thing to do is sleep it off - hope it lifts completely, and soon!

sweet dreams tea!
bye tean
g'night tea
ok, i've typed in the italian word for bath and am not getting anywhere
nm, got it
i think the spelling is archaic
evidently :-)
still don't have it
I think it may be seain, I first tried it as a 5 letter
jmc, you want a round-about hint?
stick in an extra vowel, jmc
my academic specialty is the Spanish and Sicilian as written/spoken from 1400-1600
I can see where that would be helpful here, dc!
just got the last two ca's. stupid words.
i have put all the extra vowels i can find in
loud sound BA (anagram) and a moon of saturn, jmc (two vowels), then plural
ooooh i never would have put a G in
oh! LOL sue another subatomic particle!
gn gl = ñ and ll in spanish
finally! ty all
it's in the physics babblets, stid (unless it's one I haven't found yet...)
lasagna vs lasaña for example
the younger stidkid is trying out for a school play... with singing in it. if it were singing cows it would be the moosical version
lol, stid!
yep, one of your babblets, sue
Moosic is a town in PA, it's between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre
but I found it without asking for help! *proud mama look*
for real seain? *mind boggles*
for real, stid. Signs for it on I-81 and all
so the co7 and co8 after the annoyingly sick baby - are they related to it?
wow... that is pretty cool, seain
co7 is very precise
nm, got them
okay i am off to sleep see you all tomorrow
g'night jmc
night, jmc!
not so fast, sue, some of us NEED the clues! LOL
sweet dreams jmc ((hugs))
67 left
they built off it, stid, if that helps :-)
bye all
thanks sue
now I am on the co7 before the dance line
missed the dance line.
okay, eyes tired of the computer screen. need to head out for the day. (((hugs))) see you later! *poof*
be well, stid
night, stid!
so if anybody has a hint for the co7 before the dance line....
brief, uusue, to the point
ty for that one
ah. thx, dc
how about the co6 just before the not-pros? My last co word...
not-pros?
antis? it's a co4/5 and I don't have the co6/21 just before it.
guys in jail?
looking for it...
there's a co6/27 just before the co6/21 that I need that's a gerund form of a thing you would put ice cream in
cool, i had that not either; i'm not up to C yet :)
ah :-)
it's plural of the co5 before it
ah, thx!
"co5" the barbarian and plural ;)
har har.
i love to use malapropisms when i clue :)
a local high school was shut down for awhile today while bomb-sniffing dogs checked out a suspicious bag -- which turned out to be 3 sausage biscuits! LOL
:)
yum
I bet the dogs were happy to find those!
my dogs would have made quick work of the "bomb"!
Hi, une!
hey :-)
welcome, une
tx, seain :-)
haha - mine too! In fact she got into my son's room yesterday, where he'd thrown away some food that had gone bad, and has been doing very smelly farts ever since :-)
une, you seen ruru around in the last week or so?
My SO says I should be glad I'm not home :-)
he's been here at the flip pretty much every nite
ah, so you've heard his news?
nooooo
or are you talking about his upcoming tennis match?
indeed i am :)
i figured that't be of interest to you
yeah, he talked about that awhile back -- very impressive, and exciting!
indeed!
pro-am with Agassi, right?
i look foward to meeting ruru when i'm in SF in april.
that's my memory, yes
wow, that's amazing!!

I met Agassi at Legoland years ago
he is very nice
and whomever i can while in Seattle.

for work
oh, do you know when, DR? i'll b in SEA, PDX and SFO 14-26
not sure yet but I will let you know. trying to work it out
cool. I'm guessing that'd be in Baltimore?
yes, I work for Kaiser and have to come meet the region
oh, cool. I thought Kaiser Mid-Atlantic was in Philly. But based on locations, i guess Bmore more central to their people in this region
THe people I work with are in Bmore, and VA
any clues for either of the no7's?
nifty :)
no7 -- builds on a loud no5
got the second one
2nd no7 the act of making a no5 to hang someone
also builds on the hanging rope
1st no7 means noisy
ok thx for both!!

no7 means annoying. sorry.
ah, ty, mab

howdy, hoot
hi sue
and that's merely one of the 7 7-letter words i've found... yes hoot, annoyingly smelly.
i did not intend to be up this late. stupid slow dryer that likely needs the vent cleaned
:D
howdy, hoot, did you float away today??
better clean it, dc, those things can start fires
