poor mixi,back when we had the old home place with boilers and radiator one day in the summer we shut it all down,drained it,unbolted all the radiators and we had a friend in an auto shop with a sulphuric acid dip tank for cleaning parts and we dipped all 15 of them right down to the bare metal..what a job!

only once they were right down to the bare metal,did we realize there must of been 100 coats of paint on the thing and it was all scrolled and quite a beautiful artwork in their own right
we left them bare and took a wire brush wheel to them to give them a finished look and left them at that
the wire brush wheel on the grinder give metal a burnished look quite nice
mine are the baseboard type, not pretty, and I have hardwood floors underneath that I don't want an chemicals on. Not sure I would know how to take them off. I am about 3/4 finished.

A few sunny days instead of this drizzly gloom and rain should have them bursting forth
There is a 60ft Lombardy poplar here which is trying to flower. The wood-pigeons eat a few buds, break off the whole twig, toss it to ground, start on next buds. I have swept up at least two garbage sack fulls of broken twigs. Second garden vandals.
I think I'm glad we have no wood-pigeons here. My blooming plants are protected from our dear deer by a fence.

we have a full-time para in the class. she is AMAZING. I am so glad she is there, and hope to talk with her A LOT about what she watches for and what the limits are on behavior expectations.
