I can't get the St 8
st8---is the most simplest, plain, old fashioned
back from lunch. hello everybody
quiet this morning, I found 101 words on my own. A record!
(((ruby))) good for you!
is herin still here? a very gentle hug!
{{annie}}
monkeys are looking for the st8 as I certainly can't find it!
is your guest there, annie?
I hope that she has some spring and NO MORE SNOW!
ruby, she arrived last night...her plane was delayed twice due to lousy weather in NY....still sleeping
aaah, hence annie is babbling!
Hi Ruby
I am here
ruby, we are supposed to have a glorious day today weatherwise (I'm not adddicted, I'm not addicted)
st + band*** plaster = st5/12 and then make it the most.
we are so lucky with the weather! it is chilly, but there are flowers everywhere in my garden. Wisteria started opening yesterday
FM! good afternoon :)
hello FM, sounds like you are describing me!
FAR out I tried that. But mised the EYE.
HI FM
Greetings all :)
herin, how are you
are you still crabby, herin, or have we cheered you up?
You have but trying to find out some news
Back shortly wsa on my way to get some lunch but had to help with the st8.
ty for your help, it worked
Sorry I got distracted. My high school friend's next door neighbour's son died this morning after a car accident at the start of the month
oh, horrible!
How awful
Well I hate to be cruel but were they died it is a stretch of road that has had a few road deaths and has traffic lights as a deterrence to speed but no one gives a crap. Lost about 5 acquaintances my 20's to speeding.
we would never think you cruel, herin, just realistic!
I think it is the fact I had to listen to a lot of accident cases when I worked in court security just get sick of hearing wasted life
are there any words starting with ocean?
Herin, I am sorry to hear of the loss.
hello car.
Hi Caree
good morning, car.
Don't be sorry I didn't know the kid just pisses me right off that once again wasted life
Good morning everyone.
Whee! Right column grayed!
me, too, car.
Then his friends post pics up of their ''cool' cars drinking and driving morons
and probably texting at the same time!
no they didn't even slow down at an interesection. I just said I really don't care about them acting like this but it scares me thinking that my loved one may be killed or hurt bcause of their actions
left column blanked and now a nap!

Hi everyone. What a fast little grid. I have 5 left and I need to get to work. Very fun today. I'll look forward to finishing tonight.
I was happy with 56 left, no chance of finishing hahah
ruby, I cant imagine how they do it. In fact my friend's son swan with them one year New Year's Day.
or swam, again, whatever you prefer
unimaginable for me! The ocean in Miami was perfect, 85F or so, most of the time
I like my swimming water warm and relaxing.
here, the lake is always 55F, but people still go in. I think they're insane!
I love Miami
I did too....
I have no chance of finishing cat butt in my face
I couldn't walk away. Now I'm late and finished!

Mom, How is Alex enjoying his job?
Good Morning Everybody. How are you all today?
sorry but I must dash. I hate to go but I am so tired. Loves
sweet dreams, herin
hi herin! Bye herin!
Hi Nef
he is liking just fine, thanks. Frontier baseball doesn't start until the middle of May but he doesn't seem to mind the desk job
Hi ((Nef))
Just being around a ballpark is fun. Happy for Alex.
hi Annie and Mom
oh me too. I am meeting him after work today and going to go look for a suit for the wedding
We are going to a Twins game in 2 weeks at their new stadium! We couldn't figure out the handicapped seating last year when it first opened; --then DH got too sick to go.
I am sure you will have a great time Nef
Nef, Have a great time
Mom, the wedding is soon...did you get a dress yet?
:-( no not yet
June 4th
I did look last week and I had two choices .... matronly or slutty
Love it Mom.
LOL....which did you pick, I hope slutty
I tried slutty but son ve**ed that idea
it was a halter dress. the top was all this heavy beaded and jeweled junk and the bottom half was feathers
Hi Kap
I know...all the dresses are mid thigh.....did that 50 years ago...the dress I have is mid knee and Liz said it looked okay and to wear it. Saved me more shopping
don't go to the bridal shop, Mom
I went to a department store Nef
I just need a regular dress, knee length, they are being married in a park
Mom, try the better department stores..you might get lucky
I got my dress at David's Bridal. They gave a big discount if the bride bought her dress there
I want to go to Kenwood they have a Dillards, Macy's and Nordstrom
For my son's wedding, in a park, I wore slacks
Oh, My! My friend told me that the Bridal shops were the worst place to go for the mothers' dresses! From what you wrote, I assumed that's where you went!
Whitney has her dress, it isn't a wedding dress, but it is a silk, above the knee dress, very pretty
I ordered mine from a catalogue. It was a dress with embroidery that happenedto be white. It cost $120.
Nordstrom is a good store, a bit pricey but worth going to
Mother's dresses? how depressing that would be.
I found one on Nordstroms website and it was $108.
the slutty one was $169
I saw a beautiful (but black) dress at Macy's last month. It's one of those "go anywhere" styles; 3/4 length sleeves modest neckline, etc
I hate to run but my sweetie has a 9:00 appt. and I need to scoot.
(((Hugs))) to all of you
oh, and less than $100
bye (((Mom))))
bye bye (((Annie)))
bye bye Nef, Bichon and Kap
bye Mom
Bye Mom.
hi again, all, exercises done (I don't do much but figure every little bit counts), shower time soon
ceiling light in here is dying, hopefully it's not the house power...
*blink* it's gone. sigh.
but desk light is working.
but I should shower and get on with my day anyway. bbl.
I've never had a light die a slow death like that uusue.
good morning everyone:)
Mom, I had to look and look and look for my Mother Of The Groom dress. I found one at Macys.
Oh and duh, Mom is gone.
hi crossy and Molly. I got up early to go in to work to do my stats and go to a meeting (on my day off) --and here I sit; playing Babble!
hehe
bad nef;)
:-P crossy. It IS an addiction and you are just as bad at times!
what? MOI??? NEVER! LOL
how many words today?
177
i am not addicted as i have quit many, many times:0
thx
oh, me too, crossy. that's the problem. I don't do Babble on my days to work anymore (just running out of time lately)
invades
SHOOT! Sorry
already had that one Nef...
and good morning everyone
hi River
Hello it's finally sunny here
must run - have a meeting....have a good day everyone
Psssst...Nef...chocolate cream pie in the PB
Okay, NBT, so off to work (on my day off). Happy Babbling Everybody! :-)
hello again
is anybody still here? I think I missed all the chat about dresses.
:(
i've just arrived...
hello hushry
or even hurshy!
hello :)
name that proper noun! actor warren
51 words left and all on my own, for a change. But probably no more for me
hahah, I tried it, NOT!
of course not, if it counted, it wouldn't be usable in "name that proper noun"
always worth a try
yes... but when playing "name that proper noun" you're supposed to say the answer if you know :)
50 left and the grid is making me te5
Hi Hursh. Hi (((Rubes)))) :-)
Hello Babblers!
{{soodles}} are you still speaking to me after that joke?
hello mark
Ruby..... where jokes are concerned, the more risqué the better...... :-)
HI Mark
phew, but they look much worse written than told.....
LOL
hi again, all, breakfast time!
what are you cooking, sue, I'll be right over!
HI Sue :-)
but soodle's breakfast is the champ!
And continuing with name that proper noun, colonial US flag sewer.
nutlettes (soy cereal kind of like grape nuts) with apple and yogurt, with herbal tea
my one healhty meal of the day :-P
or steak Di***
Betsy!
uh oh, hoofbeats overhead!
Sue's wins on the health scale, but mine is yummier!
*poof*
Ding! Sue! Ding!
tets
Hey Moll :-)
got that one, ruby :-)
sorry, heading out......
please don't tell the PB police!
((ruby))
I'm going for the yummier breakfast. : D
hi, crossy!
howdy sue:)
Aw rats. Work has arrived on my desk - and me sailing through the grid today. Sheesh. Bye all. Work-inflicted Poof....
bye, soodle!
poor soodles...
crossy, our departmental colloquium tomorrow is about proton cancer therapy - we are trying to build a proton therapy facility here at NIU but are waiting for better financial times to float bonds.
we have also created a masters degree in medical physics to go along with the center but it too is awaiting funding (need more faculty to teach the courses).
very nice indeed sue!
i hope you plow through all the red tape and it becomes a reality
I actually wrote most of the degree proposal (I was department chair at the time).
It's gone through all the university approval procedures but it's waiting for Board of Trustees approval until the therapy center really gets started.
red tape kills just as much as some diseases...;/
indeed it does, crossy. And lack of money kills a lot more, I think.
took our hospital 2 years! just to open 2 more dyalisis slots.people were friving 4 hours 3 times a week to go to other centres
driving
and there is still a waiting list
basically if you need dyalisis here, you cannot work.you are always driving or bonded to a bloody machine for 4 hours
ok,crossy is done bitching
:-)
still a better system than ours, I think.
My son's girlfriend injured her foot but isn't doing anything about it, since she has no health insurance...
it is..i should be graetfull for what we do have
and this is the problem down there, what is happening with obamas new healthcare idea?
my partner has no health insurance either, and I am terrified of what might happen if he gets sick or has an accident
the republicans are doing their best to get rid of it, while costs continue to skyrocket.
or are the rich trying to squash it in fear they might pay 100 dollars more tax a year??? lol
it does allow me to keep my son on my insurance plan but a state law did that already anyway
ahh
yeah, this seems to be the land of give me things but don't make me pay for them :-(
just before we started up our provincial health plan,we had what was called O.H.I.P ontario hospital insurance plan and for a family of 3 it was costing 100 per head per month
well the rich do not care, they have their blue cross premium plan....
some repub politician made a speech a couple of days ago comparing health care to slavery (once they get you in their grasp you are dependent on them) - amazing
that's pretty cheap, crossy
as it is now, about 35-40 percent of the tax we pay goes to health care, but everyone has access to everything.you do not lose your home if you break your leg or get cancer
i don't recall ever paying a penny for ohip
outside of taxes i mean
a decent plan for my partner would be over $1200 a month and that's if he could even be insured, which he probably can't
it used to cost bonkler
was never free
so just waiting until we can get married and I can put him on my plan...
the old brown cards
wow! sue! that is crazy..get that health care going down there!!!
i wish, crossy
everyone has to remember when voting on this in the states, everything else in life is secondary if you end up with terminal cancer cause you had to wait a year to afford to see a doc about it
right now we have him on a $200 per month plan but it only covers hospitalization, and no accompanying costs (that is it would pay the hospital but not doctors or tests or anything)
insane
I have a friend here with lung cancer and no insurance, he's just waiting to die
:((((
if i had waited just 6 months my doctor told me that my first cancer would of had me dead
but we are being protected from socialist medicine, thank goodness </sarcasm>
it can be very aggressive sometimes, crossy, my friend's seems to be moving more slowly
so i pay my taxes and smile
i am sorry for your friend sue
thx - system really is nuts
and it is a tough way to go at the end.i have seen it
can't find any record of ohip being billed to the individual crossy. i'm 49 and i don't recall ever having to pay an ohip bill.
u am 47 and i paid for the old ohip in ontario
i
48 this may:)
there were services not covered but as far as i remember it was funded by the province and through transfer payments from the feds
trust me,i had to jump through hoops just to get it for that ammount
kept the old slip in my wallet for years just so i would enjoy the new health plan more
this is the old ohip, before the red and white cards i am talking about
the little odd shaped paper fold over card. never got a bill for coverage. some doctors charged a per month fee for services not covered but the program itself was always funded (as far as google and i can discover) by the province and via transfers
well, since at the time it was over half my take home pay,we shall have to agree to disagree;)
thats why the new health care plan came into being..too many people were not covered under the old system
i think you were getting hosed crossy. i can find no evidence of ohip being billed to the resident. being a natural complainer i think i'd have been mighty sore at getting huge bills for coverage
since i loved money i would of taken it ,if it was free,i had to go to the ministry at the time and plead low income just to get it at a reduced rate, case before that i was 2 years without as i could not afford it..then got it for just about 280 a month as i recall
bizarre. i never paid a nickel and i never went without coverage. ohip was created as a free plan and after extensive searching i can't find any indication of the individual being billed for basic coverage. and i certainly would have remembered a $280 per month bill.
i was in construction..no benefits,no company coverage was risky not having it
i will never forget...had to eat kraft dinner often:)
good afternoon all
howdy sprite;))
let me just say crosshair, it is not the rich americans job to take care of the rest
lol cks,so i assume you are not in favour of a nation wide health care for all
not at all, healthcare is not a constitutional right
i'm sorry, not trying to make a light game political
lol
lol,get out of my way you minimum wage worker and go die somewhere else so i do not have to see you do it...it costs more to let health problems go too far
on a totally different note :) Check out my Pooktre art. Also a link in my profile text for more pictures. Talking about patience! It is something like BIG bonsai, grin.
ty sprite, ready for a neew note
was hoping so, lol. *hates political debates*

Hi briefly folks! At work so may drop unexpectedly out of chat if the phone rings or something.
remember,if all those minimum wages workers die off due to not being able to afford heath insurance while making 3.25 an hour down there, you will have to get out of your b.m.w and go in the store for your morning coffee instead of the drive thru window...crossy is sooo bad;)
hey MonkeyGames, haven't seen you in about forever!
LILM!
i have a jeep
and they make 7.25 an hour
crossy likes jeeps
lol
I wouldn't mind having a jeep passing by right now to bring me a cheeseburger and french frites.
sweet potato frittes....mmmm
Yeah, been out of chat for a long time, working, going through various stuff, you know how it is. How are you?
unfortunately sprite, today the school cafeteria is only serving chicken nuggets
We're trying to find teh cheapest way to get us al lto Limburg Saturday to see a dog who needs adopting. His owner committed suicide last week! So the family is trying to find a good home for the dog while also dealing with grief, funeral arrangements, etc.
I am ok. Definitely on my way to getting better than when we met. Very hard work though and seriously energy consuming.
hmz... ok, chicken nuggets are ok too. I kinda like those.
I understand. hang in there and come for a barbecue soon! Just found out how to smoke a whole chicken on my barbecue.
very good thing of you to do Monkey, I have a huge heart when it comes to animals and I love too see people rooting for them
trust me sprite, stay away from school nuggets
how sad, MonkeyG. Hitchhiking would be cheapest :)
lol
clue for va6?
We have, as you know, a 6-year-old so we can't promise to take him but we feel very postive about him and he'll probably come home with us. Poor doggy.
vade
lolll cks. Sounds like Soylent Green! "School nuggets are made from humans!"
Hee hee... yes, but I think we'll go with the lentetour option.
shoot,
put wine in big barrels
did it again
clue for the go7 please?
it is the layout of the site, cks. Not logical.
The dog is half Ridgeback and half Golden Retriever and he's not quite 2. Grew up in a family with a small child and cats.
thanks Kateq!
yw
indeed it is, promise u all i am not trying to cheat or give away answers....lol
bless you monkey, all my pets (4) are rescued from abuse or they were abandoned, they make the best pets
go + mixed up india
it happens to us all, actually, cks. I use the babble expert browser so I am safe, but until I had that, I posted at least one word a grid.
sounds like a perfect fit then, MonkeyG.
lol, close sprite, have you ever seen the actual manufactue of mcdonalds chicken nuggets?
thanks vanilla, and hi
thanks God, no I haven't, crossy!
hi sprite, finished earlier on, just peeking in

but they r tasty
nice to see you, vanilla :) And hi fbf.
hi sprite!
beaks and feet treats;)
what part of the little country are you Sprite?
I know I have a rotten taste. I like cheap hamburgers and frikandellen, and chicken nuggets!
vanilla: I am about a 20 minutes' drive from Amsterdam.
always wanted to go to amsterdam
I came from Rotterdam, well just across the river from there
it is a nice city to visit. Lots to see there.
hehehe Rotterdam... the proverbial enemy of Amsterdam :)
yes, we liked it in 2003
i love the history of it, my family didn't come here till the 60s, we are German, been there, but never made it to amsterdam
honestly, it probably isnt the smartest thing to be traveling overseas wight now with the way everything is....terrorism, economic meltdowns, etc...
loved the canals and the old buildings
if you ever get the chance, you will love it, cks. We are low in terrorism and meltdowns, lol.
cks you could get run over any day, live the day!
for people who like canals, architecture, art, going out and/or shopping, Amsterdam is lovely.
is the ae6 related to the ae5?
was it Leidseplein where we had coffee?
nm - just found it
could very well be, vanilla. Very cozy square with lots of terraces.
sprite, ur right, we dont here much negativity about you guys over here...
2nd te 5/10 plz
very gezellig!!
the dutch temperament doesn't tend towards terrorrism and such. Too down to earth.
lollll indeed vanilla! Erg gezellig :)
my 2nd one is a numeral + 2 vowels, ivesy
oh yes ty!
yvw :)
is it more like Australia where the PM just isn't having it and openly opposes it or is just not an issue there?
genuinely curious
here i feel like someone new hates us every day! even the ones we are trying to help!
in and around Schiphol (our biggest airport) it is an issue and it is very openly opposed there. For the rest of the country... well I guess it isn't really an issue.
See, I did have to drop out! Back again now, at least for the moment. Weird day here. But so it goes.
te7?
just had som unfortunate shooting in Alphen, but glad it wasnt related to terrorism
lol MonkeyG... weird days are normal, in our kinds of lives ;)
Indeed they are.
oh we do have violent crimes, of course. Indeed, Alphen aan de Rijn was scary. I have friends living just next to the mall where the shooting was. Very glad they are all ok.
te7 = make a will
thnx vanilla
yr welcome
ty
off to pick up kiddies from lunch, nice chatting with u all, have a great day
you too, cks, bye for now!
time I headed for bed, it's 11 pm, be good everyone
I'll be well but not necessarily good, vanilla ;) Sleep well, dream even better.
ooohh crossy likes nasty girls...
this nasty girl likes crossy right back
ouch!..everyone please say hello to my mrs..
our desks are side by side...crossy rubs his head...
hehehe hi mrs crossy, glad to see you. We are only virtually bad, but you already know that.
she does...:) she is a good sport;)
:D Of course she is, or the two of you wouldn't be married ;)
indeed;)
*smug* Greyed out the right column and 60% of the bottom row. Plus the Y and the upper E!
crossy has the y and the e still working on the 60%
nah you aren't :P
wowee... son (almost 15) has been acting like a jerk for weeks on end. Yesterday we put our foot down, took away some privileges... today he is another boy completely. Fun, relaxed, responsible according to his age... *happy dance*
na8?
na + animal's doctor with french ending, plural
plural of the na7 which builds off the na4/7 and sounds like girls in the ship army
and hello all
ty ty ty :)
yvw, and hi ursh :)
just read sosme of the chog Yay for Sprite! the sensible mom
lol hi rubyfoo! Clear boundaries make for relaxed kids... I sometimes forget :)
probably applies to dogs and husbands, too lol
oh yes. And wives :)
nah, we never need discipline
*giggles*
only no good for cats
or chow chows (which are like very big cats)
nope. Disciplining cats only makes them find ways to show you how silly you are.
this is a nice grid, but even with nbt and both left and right columns greyed, I still h ave 36 left :(
fireflies! Lovely grid. I flew through it :)
you def have wings, sprite!
ty for that clue ursh
yaa for sprite!!
Hello Babblers! Hope everyone is well..
Hi Red. Did you have your scan yet?
howdy red;)
hi all.....any clues for the in6/7 combo please?
yes, I am home from the scan.
An army may do this to an enemy country Flask.
thanx Mitch!
yw
I am sorry, got called away and must go now. Bye all newcomers and oldtimers :) *hugs*
The grid seems partial to those 1950's kitchen sets this week.
i just downloaded internet explorer 9 and now when i enter a word..the cursor goest to add but not back to box where i can enter next word. Does anyone have any suggestions?
yes..use firefox or google chrome;)))
been years since i have used I.E
so i am not much help with ie,s various issues
thank you
the new ff4 is quite nice, but i find google chrome faster with refresh and flash animations and rendering
chrome is quite nice if you do alot of those FB games
I still use Opera for a lot of stuff, I find it works well for Babble, Lickety's, morewords, and babbledabble - I've always loved that I can hover over the babble or lickety tab while in morewords and see a little thumbnail of the grid to look for words on, without clicking back and forth. (don't have expert)
but I use Chrome for most everything else, love it.
i have yet to try opera
I got hooked on it years ago when IE went wonky for me, and it's improved over the years. Almost as roomy as chrome at the top, none of the extra bars and garbage that take up so much room in IE
i restored my old internet explorer. it fixed my problem. i dont really use the browser for anything but email and babble so simple is best for me..but ty cross
np rose, just showing you other options.i have 2 browsers running non stop these days it seem:/
i am forever capping out the cpu chip in this old rig lol
gues it does not like 30 tabs running at once;))
lol..probably not
my first love when I got on the net was the little point-and-click room escape games, opera runs those fine for the most part, but not the big flash games like those on facebook. chrome's better for those.
maybe turn off the 3 torrents and the live vid straming i have running in the bg as well;0
streaming
my very first internet experience was pogo...shudder....
could never get firefox to work for me, would install it, use it once, then it wouldn't open again. but haven't tried it since I got the new pc.
well, i wasted all my babble time on trying to fix where i fixed my computer..so see you all tomorrow.
what a shame, Rose - have a good afternoon! :)
tc rose
ince i discovered that crome was so much faster,i also bid a fond farewell to fire fox
chrome

Anybody out there? Hello? Hello?
The group of 6 would usually be spelt with an x but here it has an s instead.
ohhhhhhh
hi all, late lunch here
just had to explain to a student that having exactly the same lab writeup as another student is in fact cheating :-(
Oy vey.
if you're lab partners, then you will have the same data, but you should write your own discussion. Sigh.
What grade are we talking about here, sue?
College students, Judi.
(sorry, pee break :-)
Double oy vey in that case.
Seems to me they should know this but I'm going to add clarification to the lab web page anyway.
Sometimes I wonder if college is not just a large holding tank for the majority of the students...
Holding tank - I like that! Certainly some of them are swimming around aimlessly.
I should have a more positive view. but alas I dont.
Hmmm. Sounds more like a septic tank.
Sue, you must have such patience. If I were their teacher, and they had not grasped such a simple concept by college, I would pat them on their dim heads, and suggest trade school.
lol, molly! no percentage in alienating the paying customers, though...
lol Molly
so true UUsure.
gosh, I am more than half way! How did that happen?
I'm not even there yet...
Ok Now I am half...
I'm down to 28. Which is remarkable, considering how loopy I am on cold meds.
and where are all these v words? I want to make venal, and viaduct, and...
hope you feel better soon Judi. I myself am recovering from my crazy injected hip MRI today...
oh, yuck, red! I had a brain MRI yesterday but no injections, thank goodness.
Yes the MRI itself was alright, it was getting my hip filled with dye that sort of was upsetting. But I did get to see it on the screen, the injection part.
True Sue. But I have you elevated to Esteemed Teacher and it didn't cross my mind that you would think of them as paying customers. But by being there, they are your job security.
oh, that would be interesting! I didn't get to see mine.
I didnt get to see the MRI part. I hope your Brain is wonderful UUSure.
I was being at least somewhat snarky, molly, especially having read an article recently on how college students view their education (more like something they've bought than something they have to work for).
lol, red! I don't know how wonderful it is but it sure hurts :-(
What a coinkidink, uusue. I had an MRI done on my hip a few weeks ago.
No dye though. What were they looking for on yours?
I meant to say I hope you get good news from your MRI.
I think it's the ones that view it as "something Mom and Dad are paying for" that skate the worst. My kids became much better students when they started paying their own tuition.
And my goodness Judi. I had the dye to look for a torn labrum.
I'm expecting them to say that it looks fine, so probably my headaches are due to stress. Which I suppose is good. At least in a way :-)
it is good not to have an abnormal MRI, but having lots of headaches is not fun either.
I agree, Molly.
Ah. I won't know the results of mine until 4/20 when I meet with the orthopaedist. Bones look good, so it's a tendon or ligament problem probably.
I recommend chiropractic for stress headaches. Works great.
Maybe you tore your labrum also? though it isnt that common. I dont know my results either...need to make an appointment!
Dunno, Red. But, I'm too young to be this gimpy.
agreed.
Clue for Go7, please?
hi, judi, I did chiropractors for a long time but no more (too many neck surgeries). They didn't help me anyway.
most of go5/14 + spanish day
Headaches! Arthritis! Menopause! What is happening to me!
Molly, here's the article I was referring to: Students as Consumers of Knowledge: Are They Buying What We’re Selling? http://scientificjournalclub.blogspot. com/2011/02/education-what-happens-whe n-every.html
or go+cons+a word for a thought but change second vowel.
Ty. Got it.
hi, kap! Same thing that's happening to a lot of us, I think!
Heading home from work Sue. I'll check it out when I log on at home.
go _WHAT?
most of go5/14 + spanish day
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Molly, I'll send you the link on Facebook.
Did I forget to mention dementia?
:-D
it's going around, kap :-)
Dementia? Did someone mention dementia? I forget...
"Tatty" is so a word, dammit.
Did someone mention dementia is a new invention?
howdy people! 2 questions. Has anyone heard from BR in the past 2 days? Une - is McKays still open by you?
it is, judi, just not in this puzzle :-(
and hoot, I thought I saw BR in the last day or two but couldn't swear to it as I have been ridiculously busy
hmm - I know there's been some really bad weather up there but I've been off-line for almost 2 weeks and wondered
last I heard the river had crested and they were ok, hoot, but that was several days ago now
ok - have to do some surfing
We're supposed to be hit again this evening - joy!
Oh, jolly good. Fireworks for me!!!!
with tornedoe warnings
I hope you mean the grid! congrats?
tornado
yay, judi!
and boo to the tornadoes, hoot!
yeah!!! It took them 1 1/2 weeks to return power and another 4 days to get internet.
Must be the most inefficient place in the world!
holy cow, hoot, that is a LONG time!!!
tell me about it.
hey, hoot! was outside cutting flowers for a friend's mom --- yes, McKay's is about 15 min max from my house . . .
it's so gorgeous today -- hard to believe the storm crap is returning tomorrow :-(
In NY I was never without power for more than 2-3 days in a hurricane = here it was straight line winds. And now tornedoes
ooh attentive...almost
Oh great Une! BF wants to go on sat or mon but it's supposed to rain a lot next week.
after the humongous ice storm here a number of years ago, tons of potentially dangerous trees and branches were cut way back all over Nashville
Can you give me an address for it please?
it's on Charlotte very close to the White Bridge Rd intersection
Oh the wrecking crews came thru last year but straight line winds do't care
Are you going to be around for a meet?
depends, hoot --Sat. or Mon.? -- Saturday I'm transporting rescue puppies -- Monday I'll be out of town . . .
Figures! Maybe another time. Where are you tranporting rescues to? And what kind?
tada! here's the link you need: http://mckaybooks.com/locations/nashvi lle/
thanks
I help with several groups -- almost always moving from Arkansas or other southern state all the way to NJ or Penn or Conn -- they go to a no-kill approved rescue or, often, to folks who've already arranged an adoption via petfinder.org
lots of folks are signed up as drivers -- each "leg" is usually under 80 miles -- I often drive the leg Hurricane Mills to Nashville or Nashville to Cookeville
Wow! Didn't know it involved that much traveling! You should warn me when you go thru here. I'd feed you!
oh, thanks but so far I haven't had to go as far as memphis for a pickup but we HAVE had dogs originating in Memphis
Well glad to know some made it out of here alive.
all the dogs and puppies have been neutered, given their annual shots, and checked for heartworms
and they're soooooooooooooo sweet!!
My lease says no dogs damn it!
actually - no pets
awwww, I have 3 rescue girls that I adore! :-)
First time in my life w/no dog or cat
some of the dogs we get are dogs that belonged to folks who moved into a no-pet situation -- sad
i couldn't stand it, hoot!!
I'm thinking of smuggling in a Guinea Pg but this house isn't kid or small animal safe
I think that's what happened to our dog, une...
and sometimes it's due to elderly folks moving into a nursing home
Well I bribe the neighbors 2 Labs
what's that, sue?
Those bother me the most. Having to give up a pet because of a rule!
family lost their house and couldn't keep the dog - sad for them but happy for us, as she is wonderful :-)
ooohhh, good result then :-)
and then there are the folks who move into a place that takes dogs but no chows or pitbulls/pitbull mixes :-(
chows? All I've known were pussycats
and the Nashville Humane Shelter is wonderful, but they always have a really long waiting list
now that's just weird, une! No chows??
me too, hoot!!
surprised me too, sue
And no matter how much you say it - a pitbull is only as good as it's owner!
and pitbulls/mixes that are raised like normal dogs are very sweet too
have a friend who adopted 2 several years ago and they're great family dogs
I pur pits in the same group as terriers (not all) - too active for small kids
ok, MRI results are in, nothing particular going on, so I should get more sleep (hahaha).
I used to sell dogs - drove the owner crazy cause I'd tell a custmer not to buy gog a for that reason.
well, yeah, probably -- like my brother's weimaraner and labradoodle -- loving goofballs but Truman the labradoodle knocked me flat at Xmas LOL
BUT then I'd sell them something else.
I like the way dogs are listed on petfinder -- they let you know upfront if they're not recommended for children or just for older kids
I always sold something. I was a good saleperson and they realised I was telling them truth
that's really cool, hoot :-)
lol, une, sounds like my labradoodle! very goofy but very sweet (although she doesn't get along well with other dogs)
thank you - I find truth is better than having soeone coming back and screaming at me
I told him not to yell at him -- he was just excited 'cause I had been dancing with him LOL!
It is so nice to have someone understand.
oh, totally!! what's the point of misrepresenting an animal? of course, some people get an idea in their heads about a certain breed and don't do any research
They think all puppies are the same and don't realise that a 6 month old puppy can knock over a 2 yo very easily
exactly
Also think that a small dog is good for a 4-5yo. They usually get dropped.
or squeezed by any age
sigh . . .
they are not stuffed animals!
My 2 y.o. grandson is visiting this summer and I fear he will terrorize my Bichon rescues
that's exactly what i was thinking -- squeezing too hard!
sorry - think I'm preacing to the choir
hey, bichon :-)
LOL hoot!
dam - have to go. neighbor, who was recently divorced. is here to cry on my shoulder. bbl
later, hoot :-)
:)

bonjour all!
I am still at school, going to try planning lessons while here with ALL the materials I might need...
hi, stid!
kids body total for the day: 3 -- one needs to have a "conversation" with the regular teacher tomorrow, one got a "refocus" and one I walked personally down to the principal... *sigh*
*Puts some choclit on a little satin pillow for Stid*
<------ glad to be dealing with older "kids"
sorry, I had to talk with some other teachers.
**hugs Molly and gobbles choclits**
okay, back to lessons. I think I am almost ready for tomorrow. Going to try actually leading the hands-on science! *mini poof*
Gobbling choclits. It's like Thanksgiving and Easter all mushed together.
yay for hands-on science!
<----- Wonders if Sue won the Science Fair in grade school.
Didn't have them back then, Molly :-)
Well if they did, I'm betting you would have submitted a winning entry. Something about neutrinos or string theory. : P
lol, Molly!

Hello again, everyone. :)
hello everyone :)
hello cgw and sadie
helo Babblers again.
hi babblers
*quietly tiptoes back out* bye, babblers who must be sleeping or engaged by the grid
Champ, this is from the Angelsong page on Babble: WORDS NOT ALLOWED: Proper nouns, abbreviations, contractions, hyphenated words and foreign words that are not in the Enable Dictionary. Which is pretty much BS because abbreviations like "st 5/10" are allowed and "foreign words that are not in the Enable dictionary" means that the outdated Enable dictionary can pick and choose which foreign words it allows.
Hi Welki.
Hi Red, how are you feeling?
Hi Welki. I think I killed chat.
Hi Welki. I think I killed chat.
Hi Welki. I think I killed chat.
The injustice of Enable!
How dare it!
I feel ok, my hip feels odd, but...its ok.
hi again everybody.
Red, what did you do to your hip?
I had an arthrogram and MRI today. they inject the Hip bone and joint with contrast...sort of intense for a fraidy cat likeme.
that doesn't sound good. What happened?
Hi all -- my head's awhirl. Just got the new desktop and spent the afternoon with great seller-person, transferring [almost] everything to it and trying to figure out what's missing.
I've had some pain for 6-9 months, and so they think I have torn my hip labrum, but well all is well....I suppose.
Congrats Jillibus is it an upgrade of sorts?
red -- you a nurse and a fraidy cat???
yep, I know exactly what can go wrong...and how easily it can go!
Hi all. Molly, Champ - my 2cents in: yes Enable is outdated and full of holes but I find that the words I might find "foreign" are usually in common use in other English-speaking countries or even other parts of my own. The na4,5 in my experience (living NY, VT, CO, & CA) is as Spanish as spaghetti is Italian. It's in common use as Nothing, but its English (if you will) connotes disappointment ... as opposed to the joy of winning 3-0 (nothing).
Red, I need a hip replacement because my labrum is shredded. I KNOW how that hurts!
well, my former desktop's motherboard crashed, but I had my laptop and was able to get stuff from the old hard drive onto it. Now it was a matter of getting everyting from that over to the desktop -- most importantly, Babble!
Well, thing is it doesnt hurt that much. but I can not lift my leg properly in certain areas and such. i do not want the repair surgery though, its a bear to recover from.
I admire your pluck, jilli! :-)
did it start out as pain in your hip flexor? Like when you walk?
and the link to the new BabbleExpert doesn't work any more!!!
It is like a small pain in the groin, thats all. very deep in there. but maybe it isnt damaged at all!
mine started out presenting like a pulled psoas muscle; but after 2 months of PT it just kept getting worse!
Oh, nef, I had an expert here with me.
I've had that for a couple of months or more- I don't get to the dr for another two weeks, but this can't be a good thing.
I just sort of figured it was part of my on going dysplastic hips.
jilli, I love the fact that you are willing to get help and give it a try!
Do you think I may have been making it worse by not having it diagnosed? All I do is take motrin before I go to the gym or for long walks
Psoas- a babble word.
No you probably arent making it worse, but...I will give my standard statement. if you have to take pain medicine to walk, or such, you should see a doctor.
So the doctor can tell me to take motrin.
red -- not a pulled hip adductor muscle?
No doctor should ever recommend you take a pain medicine prior to exersise.
No?
well, Jilli I've had it for 9 months, so most likely not a pulled muscle. Does not get wrose, does not get better.
Kap, if you mask pain then you can do something to damage yourself worse. I ran on a stress fracture for 4 months by taking motrin ahead of time.
Same here. Why no motrin before excercise? I also have to take prilosec before the gym. Man this excercise is killing me.
Cool. I should have remained sedentary.
Red, this is a question from the ignorant, non-medical me. You can run as much as you do on a hip with that much trouble?
prilosec is different, but you should not ever take a pain killer before. After, yup..
Well, thanks, nef, but I know I need help with new technology! The people from whom I got the desktop cost a bit more but include wonderful personal service with what they sell.
You can Molly, the doctor even said I may be able to put off the repair and finish out my Marathon for 2011, but we will see. It is starting tog et slightly worse, so maybe nto...
bummer, red (no pun intended)
but it does hurt a little when I am running...
Service is important Jilli!!!!
...maybe that's an unhip remark
Ha ha!
that was painful jil
Sorry; had a phone call. I can't even get up or down or bend or flex without my hip getting caught in some positions.
they have the new arthroscopic procedure Nef, but I think you have to have some labrum to put back there.
Red, bless you and your hip. Sending healing thoughts your way. And you too Nef.
I have noted a bigger amount of stiffness lately after running.
but I'm allergic to aspirin and all of the Motrin-like meds (NSAIDS); and allergic to metal so am trying the injections (CT-guided) to see how that helps for now.
Good Luck Nef. I did not enjoy my fluroscopy guided hip injection today. very odd.
I think sometimes this "getting old" stuff is for the birds!
indeed!
good all. night
Soooo, who loves this grid?
Good NIght Kap. Good luck with your walking.
bye Kap
Alas I must also go to bed. Have a good night all and thanks for the well wishes.
Niters, red. And sending you healing thoughts and prayers
Hmmm -- seems I have two separate versions of Babble on my computers. Not networked. Not good.

tnx babbler's didn't have that
hi Gwen
I have the a+musical sound
hi snags
It means inte**, as in 'loitering with....' You mean to do something. These days, it might be more recognisable as something your teacher might say to you when you're daydreaming, 'PAY AT*****n!'
forget that
at+ camping equipment
I have the one you have
next is at + exam
thats a word!
well that got the a's done
the at6 words are nearly identical to each other -- only the 5th letter is diff
ruru - glad you found a simpler way of clueing it. Why didn't I think of that? LOL.
lol.. Maybe I have a simpler brain..lol
right-hand column done woot!!
lol
LOL, ruru.
((hands book a towel for the brow))
tanx frad, exhausting game!!
considering how smart you are Jac.. I think that is about right .. actually
guess I won't finish this one either............. sigh
lol
smart but often sleepless, ruru - so not so smart. Sleep is good!
that's a woman thing...sleepless is normal
??!!
Incidentally, ruru, I didn't realise how often I said 'actually' until I had kids. When they're little and they start saying what you say, you realise.
lol I bet
Ys are done woot!
Gwen - if you're questioning sleeplessness for women - it begins when you have kids, continues when they are teenagers and then starts again when the menopause hits.:-(
gwen, you are just amazing at this!!!!
I was thinking the menopause thing.
(takes a bow)
Mrs Ru is pretty sleepless most of the time.
not for everyone, Jac. There are a lot of women that don't have problems
no kids, no pets, all my time is for ME lol
I do have a question though
And, if you have a teenager who is not your own child living with you and you are also in the Menopause.... well!
you have someone to beat on jac
what is it ruru?
why does it have to be menopause.. and why isn't it womenopause.. what a sexist concept
videst is too a word. my hips are my videst area
*gggle*
cuz a man named it I'm sure, ruru
hmm you might be right there nef
Gwen - I'd like to say 'lucky you!' but I remember how lonely I felt at times. So, teenagers, twenties and partners, who can all be annoying at times, I think I'll hang on to them.
ruru - there's an old joke somewhere on the internet about all women's problems being caused by MEN. Menopause is one of them.
i have a developmental disorder and being alone is fine for me
you don't need to tell me that.. I hear it all day long..lol
ruru!!! We got actual wine that cost more than $6 a bottle! We have actually had the Roussane that came from Walter Dacon in the Yakima Valley (2008) -- never had that type before. It was YUMMY.
Gwen - each to his/her own. Whatever suits you.x
oh nice stid.
So
I told the nice man at the wine shop that I like sweet, dessert type white wines and he recommended several state labels, so we are trying them out one at a time.
Roussanne is a lovely wine.
$6 a bottle, woah! lol
Hi Stid.
great with tomatoey and garlic dishes too
it's a newish wine shop in Tumwater -- I think this was about $35 a bottle.
hi stid
Yes, it has a nice crispness to it.
I can recommend some sweet wines sometime if you'd like.
*Shudders at the thought of sweet, dessert type wines. Only likes very dry wines, preferably white.*
off to be for me. good chogging all
We don't drink wine often, so I figured we are at a point in our lives to try some rather nice ones. It won't break the bank.
***poof***
'Bye Suefrad.
Yes, that would be nice. Maybe this summer when I have time to be organized and put the list where I will find it again! LOL
(((sue))) see you next time.
and hello everyone *blushes with embarassment for rudeness*
okay.. we'll check in together in the summer
thanks ruru -- how's the tennis going?
stid - organise your bookmarks and make a folder entitled 'Nice Wines'.
slowly and each time is getting a little better.
My wrist still hurts some...
that's very good news ruru. I have ice, bubblewrap and another bottle of roussane on standby...
lol.. good thinking
normally a good idea jac -- but no time to keep track of things like that right now. Really. I am completely overwhelmed!
Hi stid!!! Surgery went great today only 15 minutes instead of 40 minutes for the procedure. Not doing to bad right now.
my favorite Roussanne is really, really, really expensive
Oh, stid, I just thought, if you're using IE rather than Firefox, it's 'favourites', not 'bookmarks'.
so, one more lesson plan to write tonight. I think I am very close to being fast at these things!
((mcurl)) yes, I saw your lovely facebook post. Excellent news. NOW. *stern mama look* DO be careful to follow doc's instructions and don't push weight-bearing!
stid - if you have time to type an entry into the chog, you have time to save wine names into a folder.
I bet it is, ruru. I am sitting down -- want to spill the beans?
(how expensive can a bottle of drinking wine be?)
am camped out on chaise lounge at daughter's house for the next three days at least....and I will be good I promise
Anyway, does anyone need any more clues for the grid?
Chateau de Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-Pape Roussanne Vielle Vignes ($175-$225) per bottle nowadays
52 to go here, gettin ready to open the list. no need to hang around for me . . .
I've tasted wines that cost $13,000 dollars Stid
Yes, thank you Jacula, I need ta5-10 the2nd please....thanks
Gwen - just yell if you need a clue.
NM/ just found it
gap - you've done 'a Peri' again!
Oh, yes no7-32 please....thahnks
I wasn't sitting down far enough, ruru... *gasp* I couldn't afford to sniff the cork!
okay, i have go4, go5, go4, what missing?
I can't either...
but the one you like would be nice to try on a special occasion
past tense of no6.18, gapeach.
Don't have it yet, Jacula. Thanks anyway.
no6, to put music down on paper
The go words are 5,4,7,4.
:-D anyway, I shall take my unsophisticated pallate hence and finish these lesson plans. Poetry for 5th graders requires a little more finesse than for middle schoolers -- or, at least it requires more preparation on my part. (((hugs all)) *poof*
no + slang for potato
my little boxes says there's five Gs . . .
lol stid.. don't be a snob.
Thanks much, Book and ru.
Actually (LOL, there I go using that word again), the price of the wine is unimportant. What is more relevant is the region the grapes were growen in, what year it was re weather etc.
*grown I meant.
Buy a bottle, taste it. If you like it, drink it. If you don't, use it to clean your drive or your drain. Or, if you paid a million dollars for it, go back and ask for your money back.
hello fellow babler
opening the list, say weeeee!
Hello joe.
I agree.. price doesn't matter it you like it at any price it is right
Gwen - go5/16 - male ball thingey.
hello joe how are you!
go4.6 - no longer here.
i like CATS ALOT
*looks down*
jacula, your clue is intriguing but not helping me! ;-)

May I please have a clue for te7-28? Thanks
AAAAAAhhhhhhh, ty jacula

Gap - died with a will = te7/28.
Thanks much, Jacula.
actually (!) everyone has gonads, not just men . . .
oh, crepe, i meant to put **** in that. Sorry!!!!!!!!
good evening
LOL, yes, Gwen.
Hi Phan.
gap - y/w.
how are you?
I'm a bit frazzled at the edges, phan. But otherwise okay. You?
I am fine. School is keeping me pretty busy; only 4 more weeks til the end of the semester. Tonight I am editing photos I took today and playing babble inbetween
Sounds good, phan.
can I get a clue for the BE 7/36?
i just fond that. be7 = 2nd letter of greek alphabet + i'm f*** thank you and how are you
It's a chemistry word, phan. But it sounds and looks a bit like a Celtic word for the month of May.
Thank you!
Ds all done, say weeee!
Begins with a wager...
Y/w, phan. Glad you got it from that clue!
weeee! Gwen.
da6-27 please....thanks
da6, adj., very fragile, like a teacup. ends with the sometimes vowel
Little pink girls are very da6/27, gap, as opposed to big blue boys, who are not at all da6.27.
Ah, thanks so much, Book Doctor.
NA 5/12? and does the 7 build off of it?
And Jacula.
phan, nope, though first 3 letters are th same anyway
na5/12 = water nymph and, yes, the 7 does build off that.
ack, please ignore my wrong answer! (loking at the wrong words)
Very last one....id6-21 please.....thanks
id6/21 = to think, or to form id4/5s.
Thank you Jacula
y/w, phan. Is that fireworks?
hi all, mind if I ask how many words there are today
hi all, mind if I ask how many words there are today

hi cannon, how you doin?
So do I, joe. MOO!
last word; vi 7 pls
I like roast beef, too, with Yorkshire pudding, lots of vegetables and a nice stock gracy.
phandmd, ends like the di 7
Thanks so much, Jacula. That was fireworks.

evening all
Thanks for all the help. See y'all at the flip.
(Ends like the di (diner) word.
Hi Jess.
there is no ve 7...
No Phan, but I thought you might know the word.

wtg mixi !!!! ~~~~ !!!!
Oh LOL! And if 'I (am) doing it' indiscriminately, I'll be sure to get the infection Gwen just clued.
Well done, mixi.
a little outpaitient surgery a few year's ago. The dsurgeon just slit my throat and it's all gone.
i have the theme music from dark crystal stuck in my head. (??!!)
mixi - I like that casual post that a surgeon 'just slit your throat'. Not that I want you dead, of course. I just liked the post.
but today's fun and games was getting half my kitchen destroyed.
Cats, kids or builders, mixi?
what's a dsurgeon, a damned surgeon? lol
Cats.
Or flood, or storm?
Cats! I knew it! What happened?
no, no, Gwen. I just can't type.
cats destroyed your kitchen? how many cats were involved in this crime?
just one really big one?
Mixi - Gwen's probaably like me where words are concerned - we see them everywhere, especially on car numberplates.
heck yeah
8 to go, all ST-- words . . .
I didn't realized I'd done it, until gwen pointed it out.
I knew it, Gwen! And then if it's 'big dick' as far as you've read it, you just have to have a look at the driver? LOL.
lurking fireworks
Anyway! The cat destruction of half the kitchen?
Hi Pug.
lurking wtg pug !!!! ~~~~ !!!!
hi jac & all
i don't know about you, but i can't judge a driver's dick by looking at his head. however, i can judge his brains by looking at his crappy driving LOL
The kitchen was planned. Found a nice desiccated mouse nest in the wall.
LOL!
anyone need a clue while I stuff my face?
mixi - so how did finding a dessicated mouse nest in the wall destroy half your kitchen?
it was a result, not a cause.
ok then , Happy Babbling all, see you at flip
I'm getting a new kitchen.
see my page on New Words for Bad Drivers . . . http://tomfolio.pbwiki.com/Drivers
Will do, Gwen.
Oh, I see, Mixi - the cats found the nest?
Well, so long as it was an old nest and no fresh mouse droppings or trails were around, it shouldn't be a problem?
I'm having the wall moved to make a bigger kitchen.
Having kept mice as pets, I know what fresh and old mouse stuff smells like and I'm sure your cats do, too.
Wall gone = problem gone!
I have to go now. Enjoy your new kitchen, Mixi.x
Yes, the cats occasionally bring in a mouse, vole, shrew, rat, rabbit, cardinal. I put bells on the cats and they bring in less.
DOS
F~E~U~E~R~W~E~R~K~E~N ~ say weeeee!
yay, gwen!

YAY Gwen!
*relurk*

Oh dear -- well if you know the yellow fever mosquito, that's the ae5. If not, I'll try to think of another clue.
i do actually know the mosquito :)
ae + enable drives us to ***peration
oh good!
thankee :)
i just learned something interesting
Friday marks 49 years since Clara Blandick commited suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills.
Who is Ms. Blandick, you ask?
She was Auntie Em in the Wizard of Oz
I changed my Pooktre icon because flosey and sprite (and anyone else?) chose to show the Pooktree Men, so here's a Chair.
The next icon theme is A Word from the Grid which will then be a clue.
I was gonna change it too but saw it was a word from grid so Im gonna wait
Very strange -- although my new desktop and the laptop are networked, the icon on the desktop won't change although the laptop one did. Whay???
I mean WHY.
hmm that is odd
maybe because the picture isnt on the drive? idk
8 minutes and 33 words left. ain't happenin' tonight, methinks.
if someone feels like cluing 7s and 8s i wouldn't mind :)
ok which ones :)
vi + constant + a girl wears a bar**** in her hair

yes same ending for di7/8
thanks again :)
na7 sounds like a religious decoration for christmas
cos, I chose the picture on the desktop from my Pictures folder (Windows 7). It changed on the laptop but not on the desktop!
the other na7 i mean
oh thats odd jill
sorry -- I'm distracted!
Well, we'll see what happens after the flip.
448
What do you see as my icon, cos?
