good morning! Here for a few minutes
how are you diz grannie?
aah, I just looked at the "chog time"; I think I'm alone!
I am here, but won't be for much lonher. How are u?
rils
hi swmbo
it is another lovely day here! you, too?
we usually get your weather 3 days later
oh, whoops, was thinking scotland -- still sleepy I guess
It is 5:34 AM and I haven't looked outside lately, but I think we are at least free of precipitation
is it still cold?
LOL yes I am a bit east of Scotland!
we need rain very badly here -- long winter drought, very weird. No snow since December which (although pleasant) is bad for this valley
or should I say WEST??? Getting tired...
close enough, I read it as west anyway....
We get tons of precip, snow, rain etc. Must be awful to be so dry
very unusual for here. We had 4 ft of snow in December and then none afterwards
and we're in the Alps
Very high up?
not very high, but in the foothills and there is usually substantial snow. The ski resorts died this year
there is still snow way up on top, but not like most years
we are near Annecy
I'll bet. Weather all over is 'off'. Even here, we have had such mild winters the last few years.
it is very strange and unsettling
and those poor people in NC!
where are you? (If I leave abruptly, it's because husband is back with groceries)
I am on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia Canada
I've read a little about that place, it must be gorgeous! And don't you benefit from the Gulf Stream?
so you can swim in winter hahah
I live right on the Atlantic coast, so we get lots of wind and wetness. The Gulf Stream mostly passes us by haha
whales? great fishing?
oysters? winkles at low tide? clams?
It IS very green here and the summers are lovely, nice and warm without the humidity. Lots of whales and fishing has been a traditional occupation, but not so much since the depletion of the fish stocks
I've just read that many of the N Atlantic fish are making a big comeback! I hope it applies to CBI!
Ye4s, we certainly dig clams,, oysters and enjoy other shellfish, particularly scallops
There is a dicided opinion about the recovery of the fish, especiallt the Atlantic cod. Some say we are far from a good recovery
I miss all that, living inland. There are nice things about it (clement weather, etc), but I really miss seafood having come from MY and then Miami
NY*
sorry my typing is terrible, I have a trigger finger and it prevents proper typing
New York?
originally from Queens and used to go fishing with my dad. 100 yrs ago lol
trigger finger? good hunter?
Not a good hunter! It is an extremely painful condition.
phantom: flaccid
I'm sorry, shouldn't make jokes! uh oh, husband is back. Nice talking to you, swmbo!!!
I visited NYC last year for the first time and I LOVED it!!! Ho0w could you bear to leave?
Me too, I have to go...
Trigger finger is easily curable via a minor surgical procedure.
I think I am going to have to have that surgery too. previously had trigger finger twice and both times it resolved but not this time
Yes, in and out in 15 minutes. Drove home 2 hours later.
Really? My finger is getting contracted, was yours? Did it take long to heal?
Mine was at the base of my thumb. Every time I used my thumb it would stick and then jump..and the jump was painful. It is basically the sheath around the muscle that sticks...and then releases suddenly. I think it is the fluid inside the sheath that gets grainy.
yes, I had the same thing in both index fingers. This one is not quite the same, and is not resolving so I see my dr on Thursday and will be looking for a surgical consult. I am willing to put up with the pain but not long term disability, which I will have if this is not fixed
Oops, I goota go, nice talking to you!
I agree..it's silly to wait.
Go well.
Clues are up
TY Lickety, think I'll need them for this one
Glad it's not just me lynxx, this is a sticky grid :( ... and good evening!
Hello FM, just struggled to half way here.
I'm down to 50 left and I have never had to look up the meaning of so many words in one grid. Anyway the sun is shining and the birds are ch5/16ing :)
Plus earlier there were many red bars of doom :(( Grouching is over with now :)
mm that's what it means - had monkeyed that one
A good old saxon word (of course).
gotta go - phone.
byee
hi everyone can i have help with the re9 please
just found it-- RE9 is the state of choosing to live in isolation
ty pug
yw
Great clue pug, thanks.
was shocked I found it , I'm so sleep deprived !
I think that will help with todays grid :)
not finding this a friendly one at all
nope it is not :(
I am actually finding work to be a light relief from the grid.
shouldn't have even started, I don't have the time to plod through this
and there goes the phone again. TTFN
HI
good afternoon all
Pounce Hi sprite
hey lady :) *hug*
how you
sort of ok. Going through a rough period but doing it in style, and with my optimism intact. So not bad. And you?
Laugh or you will cry ok
yeah, lol, although I sometimes do cry. Oh, about laughing... wanna hear a cute story about some small kids in our neighbourhood?
sure
2 boys and a girl, about 6 yo, playing with a piece of rope that they tied to a tree. One boy is saying to the others to pass under the rope. They do, but he says: "No not like that! Like this!" And he makes a big belly and leans backwards. "Come on, you know what Lingo is, right??!"
cute
we had a great laugh over it, such a cute mixup.
Kids are great
whoot
yeah, usually, grin.
I am so freeking tired and over our public transport
{{{{{{{{{{lady}}}}}}}}}}}
Since I have started work they have had a 82% Puncuality rate and last month it was 79%
very irritating when you depend on them for transportation
And when you have a boss that thinks you are talking crap
who is driving to work in his own car, no doubt. Or her car.
Her.
She thinks I am full of crap and should get an earlier train
can you do that?
hi all I need another ce4 and ce5 and they just won't come! I have the ce4 that is used in film animation. Pls??
above your head vanilla - less ing
not sure, vanilla, but I have a ce4/5 combo that rhymes with the nazi greeting sieg h***.
hi lyn :) xxx
Good evening (again)
thats all I needed, thxvm
Hi Lyunxx you didn't get flodded?
no? where has it flooded now? been raining all day here but pretty light
APparently Windsor Station is classed again
closed even
again! that seems to be happening all the time - they need to look at drains there
that is your train line?
they need to get the sodding trains running
No Frankston and it is really poo. The school holidays are helping though
wow tough grid to grey out. I mean, I am missing on of about every tile.
one*
Mornin' y'all...
morning Odin
morning Odin
Hi Odin
Hey everyone...grid looks good but then again I am just getting started.
its a challenge
good grid, but some tough-to-find words for me.
I may take back that statement...hhhmmmmm maybe a wee bit harder that at first glance.
I must be afk for a while, back later. Bye all!
bye Sprite
Later Sprite
anyone have a clue for cr8/45?
Later Sprite
sorry Vanil just getting started...need more coffee before the 8's
when you throw your pants onto the floor - in the morning they are cr8
ty lynxxx
no problem. Down to the last 12
mmmmcreased is not there, so....
my brain hurts
you are on the right train vanilla
ahh yes, even more so thxvm
Mine is starting to Herin and I have only been here a few minutes.
I have had pain relief my eye is still trying to get out of my head
I don't know if you were around the other day when I explained I am trapped in a wheelchair with an avulsion fracture to my knee...pain sucks!
yeah, she's tough today
ewwwwwwww
How did you do that?
Strange as it may sound it happens unexpectedly when I stood up. My knee must of slightly dislocated and when it did a muscle snagged a piece of bone clean off!
ouch, hope theyre giving you some morphine
Oss fracture but if the ligaments are good I'll be walking again in a hinged brace
O I tore both my ligaments in my knee standing up so you are not that special
when do you find that out Odin? sounds like you need to be mobile
got the good stuff in the ER but then they are stingy with anything after. Vodka is always a good standby. Herin you are an amazing lady...I can appreciate how much that hurt!
It hurt but I didn't do jack until three days later. I am a tough cookie.
Then I got off crutches and fell down a stair rolling my ankle back onto crutches. Fun times.
I will get the MRI results tomorrow. I am not one to sit and depend on others for mobility, food, drinks or a ride. IHerin I was sippin' the vodka the next day. Why? It was just normal weekend cocktails
Herin you are tough!!!!
How are your knees now?
No I think clutzy
VOdka is good.
Atta girl!
I have a great idea you know a coffee machine with a filter
YES
Well you get fruit put that in the top then pour vodka over it
You squish the fruit and put it in a jug and pour vodka over it leave it sit for a day. Then use the filter and pour the mix over it straining the mix through the filter into the jug
Now that sounds good. We love fruit infused vodka. Get some citrus and other fruits add vodka and put it under pressure a day or so and ....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmvodka!
Great minds think alike Herin!
a russian sangria
Exactly! and quite tasty...no one makes better vodka that the Russians.
Yep
Friend did it with berry skittles
Wow...that's an interesting idea.
Not sure if you guys had the chilli ones?
Chilli ones?
skittles
Haven't seen those ... wow my mind is already imagining how good those are and with vodka...mmmmmmmm
I think they were limited edition
Chilli Skittles :} I know I would like them.
I would like to know if sour skittles would work
I could whip up a batch in the interest of science.
Do you have sour skittles?
I believe we have those. I am on a mission to check out all available flavors here and then I will test each one with good vodka and will report back on my findings! Tough job but...I'm in!
brillant
co-incidently ambulance were called to a house in one of our suburbs today. neighbours were feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing.Turns out a neighbour was drying chillies in their backyard
Skittle shots...maybe a new fad which would go over big.
Lynxx that was funny as
I am actually suprised it wasn't pot they were drying
pretty amazing considering how cold it has been
lynxxx I have heard it happens to those who harvest hot peppers. Herin the chillis were to hide the pot!
I know the suburb. I am really suprised it wasn't green
Yeah
Like Mendocino county if California...pot growers consist of most of the residents.
Well I was just told actually suprised it wasn't a Meth Lab
Being in emergency medicine for so many years...meth labs and dealers and users are something we could all do without.
Then there's the show "Breaking Bad" I watched it a couple of times, but felt repulsed
Haven't seen it Bichon but a friend told me about it.
hi Bichon. have to agree, don't understand why it was raved about so much
My husband and son watch it. I watched The Sopranos and the characters were repulsive. But watch a show about Meth dealers is something different
Interesting
the 2nd ac 7/40 plz
They food preparers are calling for breakfast...at least the remembered me. BBL. GL on the grid all!
bye Odin
{Odin leaves for breakfast but is thinking of skittle shots}
Second ac7/40 - you will win ac7/40 when you finish this grid because it is a stinker.
ivesy, ac + the gold miner raced to file a ***** when he found the vein
hi babblers.. very interesting grid today
bye Odin
For interesting, read stinker.

Hello, Jacula.

hi Jac!
Hello Haz. I've just read the minutes in your bio. *chuckle*
The first one (ac7) - starts like a car crash/something you don't want to happen and run it into Spanish day.

tyvm Haz and Aloy
I'm waiting any day for a summons from Dr-G, Jac.

Hi everyone... Haz, that type of heather you clued me the other day is in the grid; I saw it in a garden place the other day, too - one of those examples of something you'd never heard of before showing up three times in a row :)
Hi City
*something I'd never heard of.
Hi Herin
TTFN - lunch to make.
I know - babble is very educational. Always emphasise that when people mutter about wasting time.
Bye, Jac.
Bye Jac
Good Morning everyone --- grid has a bit of a bite today...
Given Babble's love of insults, why isn't 'oiks' accepted?
yum, just found the ec6 dessert, but think I'll go get a healthier bagel, brb

Hi jmc, I hope you are taking the day off today
and hi to jmc

ccasier
lol
sorry again. cursor being weird.
Made a very quick and tasty soup for lunch today - beef stock, finely chopped onion cooked, egg noodles, shredded cabble and finely sliced strips of steak (left over from yesterday) plus soy sauce and garlic. Yum yum.
um hum
sound delicious
mmmmmm
sounds wonderful, FM.. you must name this creation
*cabbage not cabble?!
knew whatcha meant
i just thought it was a weird brit nickname for cabbage
"Whats in the fridge/store cupboard soup"
oooo i have that soup all the time! lol
lol jmc - nope it was an FM typo (as usual).
The thing I love is that throwing a few things together like that only take 10 mins from start to finish.
.. and it cleans out the fridge too
and saves money
.. must get dictionary.. another newbie found, sc6.39
It refers to a bad shot in gold Aloy
a bad shot?
*le sigh* golf!
LOLOL... i do that all the time, "to strike the ground with the club before hitting the golf ball"... never knew it had a name
and you can make it into an 8
you knew it , FM? wow

ooooo i thought you were using a metallurgical term i never herd of lol
I wish I could say that I did but I can not lie.

thank you for the sc 6 and 8 letter words
morning, all!
good morning, uusue
stopping in briefly while eating breakfast, had to reboot the router this morning as internet was out
how bad was your weather, uusue?
Good morning
good morning Mr Bob
not very, lots of thunder and lightning but no really bad storms. mostly went south of us, I think.

glad to hear that
well, i got the right column with no trouble...

nm, got it
artificial boob
lol, thx, grant!
yw
ty anyway grant.
elegant... dog... hmmmmm
oh dear, 20 a letters?
don't forget the other A - 29 altogether
sigh
I really had to work to find that elegant dog. It's out there.
am i likely to have heard of this dog?
what dog?
I doubt it. The sa6 dog Sue.
someone said there is an sa6 which is an elegant dog...
oh
well could i have an alternate clue perhaps?
ah. got it, it is the mascot of Southern Illinois University.
I'd heard of it. sa plus New Testament doctor with a different last vowel.
SIU - yep
sa6/33 - originally from Egypt and Asia also known as the gazelle hound.
thanks!
Hello Haz, did you get you photo taken?
Not only did I get my photo taken, I had to make a speech.
I (like the cheese) will stand alone in having never heard of the breed.
ooh, what did you speak about?!
I was then conducted on a tour of the various artists and had to chat to them. I felt like a minor royal or something.
oh heavens! wtg.
Perhaps you should ahve worn a hat.
*Curtsies to HRH Haz*
you're not a MINOR royal, you're the Queen of the World!
I was collecting a cheque on behalf of a cancer charity I've been involved with for a long time. The money was raised by a group of amateur artists selling paintings at an exhibition and them giving part of the proceeds to the charity.
lol Molly
It's a nice little group - they meet once a week and do their paintings and they have tutors who come and give help.
mornin babblers!
Sounds like a sociaty my Mum used to be a member of. Hi EvaN
Lots of them are retired and they confessed that they could never draw at school but had amazed themselves by taking up painting and really enjoying it.
Good morning, EvaNadine.
sounds lovely, haz
haz! havent been online same time as you in a while! how goes it, lady?
Haz - -I love your profile--what a hoot!
hello again everyone....just in for a minute before boss comes looking for me
Feel v sorry for Mum now as she longs to paint still but can't sit for long periods due to oteoperosis etc (sp)
So I got an email from someone at a newspaper (web site) called the New Europe who wants to reprint an article of mine :-)
FM, sorry to hear about your mum, that is tough :-(
Glad you enjoyed it, River. Are babblers looking at each other now wondering if he/she is a secret Rules maker?
everyone must be reading Haz's profile...
lol
Isn't it great River!
EvaN - I'm fine, enjoying some lovely sunshine and providing the voice of sanity and reason during wedding preparations.
name that proper noun! a pharmaceutical for men...
sanity and reason dont exist during wedding preparations, sorry. hehe.
Cialis!
ding ding ding!
They have to for the mother of the bride
I'm not convinced that the bridesmaids' shoes have to match the colour of the pearls at their neck, but apparently it's vital.
Haz and her clipboard WILL remain in control until after the event :)
lol, haz!
shoes matching pearls? thats a new one for me...
is the daughter of haz to be wed?? did i know this if so???
LOL EvaN - this from the woman who was going demeted about orange shoes :)
My daughter is just ever so slightly fussy about tiny details.
is the daughter of haz to be wed?? did i know this if so???
FM, at least i didnt have to match them to anything other than a totally arbitrary and imaginary picture inside my mind!
Yes indeed, hurshy. My older girl is getting married at the beginning of August.
*grin*
is this the one that worries like me?
The very one.
and do you like the lad?
clue for re9/66
This is the girl who used to do packing lists for holidays which included diagrams of hair accessories and jewellery.
I like him very much indeed, hurshy. He is very calm, kind and has a good sense of humour.
someone who choses to live in isolation Matches.
::hides formatted and saved "beach packing list" that she has on her work computer::
thx, FM!
excellent. i wish them all the best!
awe EvaN, your secret is safe with us.
yw uu
the bottom left i box is bugging me - i can only find land surrounded by water :(
Thank you! We think they're well suited and they've known each other for a long time.
oops - time has gotten away from me - time to run off to work!
ty fmitch got it
For the other i, think of a different spelling for what we change from time to time <---------
darn HAz beat me to it.
i have the ones from the right, it's the left that's giving me trouble
Ah that will be the is6/24 and 7/32
oops 7/36
And no wonder, hurshy, they are words that don't spring readily to mind.
thank you the stats helped, i have got them!
Well done!
you are a very talented lady in that case!
well it took a bit of monkeying
I had to morewords them (and yes the cheque is in the post Haz).
Excellent. The wedding fund is grateful.
i kinda want fofo to be a word. just because.
I really enjoy cluing for babblers that I've babbled with for years as you sorta know when to just do stats or what ones they might be missing - if you know what I mean :) Also enjoy doing clues full stop - before anyone takes offence.
What would it mean?
i dunno - what do we think it should mean? :)
A bit like a faux pas but not as bad?
good one FM. i was thinking maybe extremely foolish.
I'm thinking food, not sure why. Of course we need to establish how it is pronounced. Fo Fo or fof-o.
Fo Fo
fs
Ahh Fo Fo with sweet and sour sauce
it could easily be a chinese food.
oops sorry
i don't think you need to be sorry for saying "fs".
lol Hi pab
I agree with the Fo Fo pronounciation.
hi everyone
The Fo Fo was freshly caught this morning.
any clue for the last ch5 ?
Hello, pabtrek.
hey pab, got any suggestions for a meaning for "fofo"?
ch5/16 - to rhyme with the sort of wriggly thing birds like to eat.
nevermind...I found it
and funnily enough it is related to bird song.
thanks anyways...haz
good morning everyone;) haz i have read the minutes of the meeting in your profile and i must disagree at one point.there is no such thing as a babble"addiction" as i have quit many times over the last 3 years;)))
at little less then fufu?
You're welcome.
Good morning crossy ((()))
but what's fufu, then?
((FM))
fufu - what junior ballerinas wear?
How are you and Mrs C today?
mrs c is still snoozing but we are all well and good:)
so a fofo would be a ballerina costume for an infant?
is that not a fru-fru?
If ballerinas have fru fru on their tutu's perhaps make ballet dancers just have fo fo on their tights?
fru-fru is adjectival. anything that is unnecessarily dandy.
this grid is very french... cela, celui, cheri...
frou-frou - excessively fancy, like most mother of the bride outfits.
This grid is just very .... I have no grey cells left for today.
ah, zee little grey cells...
y
so the 8's are cr, sc, and...?
lol from France to Belgium in one fell swoop.
ac hurshy
is the cr8 related to the cr 5/20?
'fraid not
nm got :)
is the ac8 weird or normal? :)
but I bet your sons trousers are cr8 than yours if he leaves them on the floor over night.
It is a pl of the ac7 and is a word I am not familiar with hursh.
It's not normal, or at least not in my world. It's a plural for ac7.
<-- goes to look up the def.
For ac7 - start off with what you don't want to have in your car and run it into Spanish day.
are there two ac7's, then?
yes
There are two ac7, yes.
i have the ac 7 and cannot pl it,unless there is annother
lol,nm
and the one you want is the 1st
HAz what does your dictionary say?
thank you!
Hold on and I'll have a look.
Ta
It says nothing. Further investigation is required as dictionary.com can't come up with anything either.
Ah c'est la vie
apparently it's sloth
putting tea on,who wants a cuppa.nice tetley bold blend, steeped strong enough to bend the spoon;)))
Sloth.
mmm ys please crossy
tea sounds good
so... i have another interview today
And how do you feel?
tried darjeeling the other week and it was so weak it was like someone dragged a tea bag through hot water for 10 seconds lol
fine. i think i might like it better than my current job, but i've also applied for something else which i think would be a much better opportunity, so i'm not as into this one
My Grandpa worked at the steel mills all his life and through WW2, they used to eg extra rations of tea and as a good Yorkshire man always brewed a a mug of tea so that the 'spoon could stand up in it'.
only way ta brew it fm:)
:)
All the best with the interview, hurshy, if nothing else it gives you experience.
i am hoping i don't end up having to decide something about this one without knowing about the other.
thanks :)
Well done for aplying for the jobs hursh and good luck with the interviews, I know it is not easy for you.
heat the pot first so the water stays hot longer and you can steep it till it begs for mercey
Yes, but don't spend time worrying about it.
you will do great i am sure hurshy
You need to worry about things like whether your shoes match your necklace.
... and don't overanalyse afterwards :)
LOL Haz.
good grief....wimmens...
i have been doing reasonably well about the worrying thing, i think. and my shoes never match my necklace :) lol
Hey all!
Back in 5. Hi car.e
as
Hi and Bye FM.
Hello, car.
good morning everyone
Good morning, flosey.
Hurshy...I haven't seen you since the accident happened at Yale. The girl that was killed....lives in the town next to me. The Babble World is indeed a small place.
Good morning Flosey!
Good morning Haz!
it is. she was killed right across the street from my office. :(
wear something comfortable and do dress up like you are going to a catillion ,always make eye contact do not make your previous experience into a big long story.keep it short and simple but factual and when the interviewer says "where would you see yourself within this company in ten years?" do not answer "your chair":)
dont dress up like a party*
I knew that she had been killed right across from you, but then to find out she lived in the next town from me....kind of weird.
well, i guess everything is near SOMEbody!
every summer i do about 50 interviews and it is always the same.and it is always the same type that make it to the final 5 short list
i don't mind interviews, really.
what i find hard is the imagining what a new thing would be like, and whether i would like it, and making decisions.
they must fe confident, calm, meet your eyes when you speak and be a people person.shmoozing with customers is #1.if you can make my customers have a good experience a good visit.actual knowledge about whatever it is i am selling is secondary.if you can handle people that is the best skill
i've been lucky, lately, that the jobs i have interviewed for, i have felt iffy about, and they haven't been offered to me, so i didn't have to decide! :)
but of course everything i do up here is tourist trade fodder
it is all the art of the sale
yeah i'm not in sales.
sell, then gas, sell them books, hell sell them my car and house if the price is right
hi folks - crossy - remember we were talking about book stores the other day and someone mentioned the BBC series Black Books - have you ever seen it?
very funny - exactly NOT the way to run a book store - he does everything to shoo customers out so he can just sit and read
no i have not jbv
lol
I ordered it from Netflix - it's not my style of humor, but I did get a few good laughs
Back again with mug of tea seeing as crossy was too busy ;)
that what you have to be carefull of.not to turn your books store into your own private collectuon
damn typos
you would probably enjoy it
fireworks unaided
i shall look it up,is it a tv series or a book set?
yaa for gremlinn
Will you have to remind yourself of that crossy when you do open your store?
I saw the first season of the BBC tv series - I think it was 6 episodes on the DVD
probably based on a book, though
there have been a few delays fm.i will have to keep you posted
Hi and congrats gremlinn and thanks for the lists you put up when lickety is indisposed.
phantoms: cichlid, occasion, occlusion, fascia(e), fascicle, chemical(s), alchemic, and many others I've forgotten
Well done Gremlinn!!!!
the story is about nothing - it's kind of a British "Seinfeld" - three loser friends who get in the usual scrapes
there's my 25-word review, free of charge :)
and the bbc way of filming is hard on north american eyes most of the time and takes getting used to
it is all in the camera angles, lighting aND THE WAY THEY PAN THE CAMERA AND OR SWICH TO A DIFFERENT PERSON TALKING
sorry caps
for instance i love james herriot and his vetcapades, but try and watch the series i go into a coma lol
Times have changed since Herriot was filmed. Now it's fashionable to pretend that the cameraman wants to induce seasickness in the audience.
lol @ vetcapades. Wonders if Mr Haz has any of those?
Whew! Finally NBT!
It is a long time since you told us a story Haz.
Just a few, FM.
only need two more and you wouldnt believe that one is re4/5 any clue?
I still smile when i think of the goat on the bed one.
the other is the re9/66
I know, the goat owner is still a client.
really? LOL!
His old aunts are dead and he's living in a more modern place but he's still farming away.
re9 = someone who choses to live in isolation
re 4/5 is short for an activity room with a plural at the end....or old vinyl RE*ord*
thank you for both!!
TY FM!
hello again
yw - the clue isnot mine but one that was given much earlier in the chog, unfortunately can't remember by whom.
Fireworks then, Vanilla?
fireworks after the battle!
Hi Ruby!
79 this AM but prince has turned back into a toad -- it was a great 3 1/2 days!
Afternoon ruby! Congrats vanilla.
Congrats Vanilla!
Oh Ruby! Sorry to hear.
ty
Anyone need a coffee refill?
I just had a god mugfull (is that a word?) lol
Not for me thanks car.e
I'm looking for the re9, maybe will become one
u cannot get the re 9 together must be alt spelling
i
hello FM, finally found your address again which had drowned in the morass of papers on my desks
hello car.ee
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
re9 - the state that a hermit might live in. Think of a lonely word starting with s and make it r instead.
aaaah, got the re9! yay
ty haz, but had just gotten it
tsk tsk ruby, I'll come over and be your PA for a month and get you filed and sorted :)
my son and his wife tried that, and I still haven't found all the stuff they "sorted out" for me.
lol
but yo're welcome to try, FM, and the roses and peonies are almost ready to pop. And my little baby lilac has surprsingly large sprays of almost-open flowers
<---puts on sponge outfit to soak up all the clues
hello ruru
my da is like that.i have showed him how to orignize everything with the computer and usb keys..but he keep his enture like on scraps of paper
I have 15 mins to try to re*** half
my whole like (and dislike) also on paper scraps
that second c is throwing me off on that re 9;(
good luck ruby it is a stinker today
life
crossy, maybe you're starting from the wrong re
crossy-it's the act not the person
(imagine ruby giving helpful hints) fofl
more that likely ruby ty:)
If I ever finish this grid.. I am never doing it again
Run together most of a hermit with a charged particle for the re9.
hahah ruru
Never doing what again? Babble? This grid? Making bad puns?
ty haz and ruby
Mum was saying on the phone today that she would like a laptop (bear in mind she has no PC experience nor can type). I tried to explain that to use a laptop and the internet you need a connection through the phone. We decided to talk about something else :)
no.. haz.. just this grid
maybe from the wrong like
not the person the act of..now it makes sense
or life
Hey ruru!
get her hooked up with 3 g wireless fm
hey FM.. Haz is picking on my punning
May this grid never revisit us! Can you blame her ruru?
there is a whole new book out on punning, reviewed yesterday in the Int'l Herald Tribune, perfect for ruru
FM is my back-up.
godspeed to her I say!
i type like a cat running across the keyboard and it has never stopped me;))
ruru do you know chattanooga choo choo jokes?
at least she is not pruning your punning.
no...ruby I don't
crossy talks to the wall....
if you e-mail me, I'll send you some; if you like puns, they're terrif
NOt sure I'd let Haz near me with pruning shears
uh oh.....
I now crossy, they have a PC up in the office but to do the whole wireless thing and get her up and running would just be too much for her.
how old is your mum, FM?
:(
...this grid is impossible...
'talks to the wall' - Shirley Valentine' - great movie. 82 ruby
I keep trying helas NOT
younger than my prince
Not impossible, ruru. You must pull yourself together and remember that you're a seasoned babbler. We don't give up.
Think I will just delcare an open bar in the PB until flip time and we can forget about the poopy grid.
Very good Haz - stiff upper lip and all that and soilder on through!
what am I seasoned with.. garlic and oregano?
open bar??....WHERE?
open bar sounds good to me! I mix excellent martinis and margueritas, will bring the necessaries
crossy dives into the pb
Absolutely, keep calm and carry one.
PB crossie
already there fm:))
poopy grid is right, hahah
and with the good wather over here it might be time for the cabana boys to get dusted off.
can you believe there's a fr football player named that?
oh for heavens sake - spelling has gone out the window today.
*Nominates FM "Babble Queen Of The Day"*
Hi everyone
{{molly}}
{{bichon}}
I was going to say, FM, your spelling is even more creative than usual.
sounds like a grand party
lol Molly and Hi bichon
is 6/24 and is 7/36=is+ what sounds like the board applied to a home to hold the gutter on
Been up since 5am Haz and that is my excuse.
I'm suspicious about FM getting nominated for Babble Queen right after she announces open bar and cabana boys.
Why Haz? That's why I nominated her. : )
awe don't steal my brief moment of glory :(
I knew it. Telling people to keep calm and carry on with stiff upper lips just isn't popular.
we prefer panic, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth
well at least I tried the Brit approach first.
...I ...can't...find... one...more.. word...*collapses*
I found an is6/24, Italian island, but it doesn't have a plural. Is that what you meant crossy?
Wimp.
Haz, I was afraid nominating you might interfere with your...um...secret...um...stuff.
OK, girls, let's pick up ruru - 1, 2, 3!
*passes ruru a cognac*
it was a rough clue only ruby it has a strangle pl for the 7
Ah. Understood.
well, even that is not really a pl,
Very confused about is 6/24. I thought it was an anatomical term.
it is that too Molly
i just clued with a sound alike molly not an exact definition
I see. An anatomical Italian island. Oy.
i rarely clue with exact definitions
a greek island or similar and a hip related thingy
No, Ruby said it was an Italian island.
FM goes to the top of the anatomy class with that accurate description.
watch out for Italian doctors!
but anyways on we go...
I thought it was a creepy Chia-Pet
*giggles and chokes on tea at the same time* gee thanks Haz
*heads to the wet bar in the PB.. it was worth it*
uh oh, ruru is at the party!
*Heads to the open bar to sc6/39 a drink*
good lord..someone pour me a shot of something strong....
what are you doing to that drink molly?
Triple vodka with 2 tetleys Tbags on ice sir.
did anybody ever have Long Island iced tea? I've had it in bars but could never replicate it at home although lord knows I've tried
sc6/39ing it Ruby
sounds good..crossy put tea bags on his eyes and slams the 3 fingers of vodka down and chases it with a shot of absinthe
sc 6/39?
Minveryork's going to have one strange tale to tell with her clue story.
I don't see that sc either
lol haz.. that's for sure
ROFL crossy
*So glad that good vodka was not polluted with tea*
sc6/39 - sc plus a phonetic rendition of what the hyena is famous for (kind of).
ruby,i used to bar tend and i can make you a traditional long island iced tea...no pre mix
do you wish the recipue ruby?
does it have a double consoant?
sc + alternate spelling of ha ha ha
Or s plus Mr Clavin from Cheers, different vowel.
yes, pls, crossy, e-mail if poss
Yes Bich
give me you addy ruby
yes, molly, ty for spoonfeeding me
ty Molly, got it
it's in my profile, crossy
And make it the one who does for sc8.
k
is it only clear liquors?
oh jeezus.. no wonder I'm struggling.. these aren't words
A bad babbler blames the words.
It's a great word. I'm going to use it in so many different ways. Like sc6/39 it all to hell! AND I don't give a sc6/39 about that.
I had to look it up; it's a golfing term
*Pours Ru another drink*
that's so funny Molly I forgot to sc6
maybe tiger needs to know it, might help his game
Ru, Haz called you Bad.
sc sc sc
he would need a ho in front of the s ruby..lol
but doesn't bad mean good these days? or has it reverted again?
2 more for half, then I can feed the hungry troops
It's reverse psychology, I'm trying to get ruru fired up with enthusiasm.
I am sadly lacking in street talk.
sc sc sc!!!!
Haz has license to rib me as much as she wants
*smug*
I was enthusiastic until I hit 50 words to go
yay, half! see you after dinner and after I find crossy's recipe
yo! FM wassup?
FM needs to get some phat street cred.
Ahh that was the point i sunk too ruru but did get there in the end although with my usage of morewords I have paid for Haz's daughter wedding several times.
It's a bit of a slog, I'll grant you. But we've seen worse, much worse.
Yes.. buys FM's some really extra large pants that hang down and shows her underwear...
Just seeing yo when it is not a typo makes me shudder :)
ok ruby i have sent it to you
lol
you should see how the French translate street talk into subtitles; it's hilarious
ty crossy, I'll stagger back to the grid after din
lol be careful.after 3 of those your legs do not work anymore
they do literal translations which don't usually work - back to that Italian doctor.....
Why is fonk not a word? I'm sure it was used on Batman.
that was Bonk molly..
it is a "creeper' drink they sneak up on you
they translate all bad words as me***
and it tastes exactly like iced tea..you cannot taste the booze lol
Boink surley ruru unless it was a secrect message between Batman and Robin?
that's like putting booze into Red Bull (not in my experience, however)
FM is starting to need subtitles herself.
secrect sounds like an underground religion!
tell the truth, has anyone here actually tried Red Bull?
One sip. It tastes like liquid Pixie Stix. Gross.
sorry Haz, it's all this blue sky and sun - justnot used to it.
Pixie Stix?
Well, time I was getting off my ac8/55 (hip thingies) and heading off for a walk. Toodle-oo!
A sugary powdered candy that used to come in straw tubes.
Bye Haz have a good walk with the glittery one.
we had those but by a different name, molly
*poof*
Bye ruby
i do not care for any of the "energy" drinks all of them seem to have mango juice
Way too much caffine in most of them.
Isn't that the point FM?
true but so open to abuse.
Between the Starbucks and the energy drinks, it's a wonder some young'uns don't sprout wings and fly.
actually i have seen the shakes, cold sweats and vomiting for over use
boink is a connection in a way FM..lol
That was of5/22 Ru
you mean it was spenic molly?
splenic
Foink!
I knew a chap that drank a pint of Guiness and then did double vodkas and red bulls all night most days - he aged so much over a few years.
that's what a lot of college students are doing here fm.. it's really a problem
Apart from the abuse to the body, it ain't cheap.
Just the idea of mixing vodka with that Red Bull crap makes me queasy.
all that sugar..ewwwwww
wow... this is the toughest grid I've played
me too Molly. Anyhoo I had better skidaddle for a while, things to sort out before the end of the working day.
that reassures me ruru. i was feeling very lost.
Happy or hopefull Babbbling and Good Luck with the grid.

Wow. Well, that will be nice :-)
just checked the local forecast - 71 for DeKalb. Still nice.
It's 80 here today. Beautiful.
right now it is 39 here, Molly, can I come visit?
also I have 126 words left, and I think they are in some other grid :-(
hmm downgraded from last night. will prob decrease each day as it gets closer :(
well, we tend to be colder out here than closer to the city, too
Yes Sue. Bring your shades and I will make us drinks and canapes.
Sounds good :-)
oh they found the dog!!
she was in her old neighborhood. prob trying to get home
oh, thank goodness, GE!!!!!
the power of the internet, haha
"also I have 126 words left, and I think they are in some other grid :-(" so very true!
so wait, GE, this should be in the Chicago area, right? Where? (looking on the trib web site for news...)
Glad to hear it GE. That poor girl is going to need all the comfort she can get.
it was here in Arlington hts last Thursday. the gruesome details were in the paper monday after the bail hearing
well, still not finding it but glad the dog is found, anyway (btw, I used to live in Prospect Heights, commuted to NIU from there, drove by Arlington Heights a lot!)
Next Friday's icon theme should be "Hats For The Royal Wedding". This bunch could come up with some good ones.
oh that would not have been a fun commute sue.
i like the icon idea molly. that could be good!
I emailed Sprite about it. We'll see. My girlfriends and I always find a hat on the internet for Derby Day (The Kentucky Derby)
it wasn't, GE, but I had my son attending a school for gifted kids that was in Des Plaines, and that seemed to be the best solution.
<------- not a hat person (but willing to find pictures of hats as long as I don't have to wear them)

i WAS CURIOUS TO SEE WH PLay s at this late hour(I should have been aspleep two hours ago)
lillian, hello hello and a big hig
ruby, hi hin, you should be asleep now!
big hug hug back1 why aren't you in bed hin?
i like higs..lol
higs and hugs, both excellent. Husband is sleeping too much and has me worried
hi, lilli, haven't heard anything since yesterday, so I assume still hanging on. Other than that I don't know.
and aspleep is almost as good as the real thing
oh ok. i take it you've checked on him ruby?
and I am on babble time so should be going home but it's not late here :-)
lol rubes :)
well, hope she pulls through! is your dad taking it ok sue?
we are starting to get on totally opposite schedules; he sleeps when I'm awake and awakens me when I'm asleep (or even aspleep)
leep
pretty much although I need to call him with the latest (called him Sunday but not since)
well, wake hin up then, ruby
before, I thought he was dead in the bed; thiwsbefore, I thought he was dead in the bed and it took me minutes to rouse him to the point where I knew he was breathing
it took forever. This is a scary biz being alone here
sorry for the typos and incoherences, terrible lag
well, it's not nice, but as we get older we're going to get more problems and then go.....that's the way of the world! although it's not nice for the ones left behind! hope he is ok sue
see you tomorrow
np ruby it is half 12 gone there so we're let you off
it's a shame you don't live near my mam and dad as they would be good friends to you
nite ruby, sweet dreams and tc
Wow, it's dreary in here.
isn't it just! everyone is hiding, concentrating on this horrible grid or gone!
And poor Ruby. Sounds like things are difficult in her world. ((((Ruby)))
How are things with you, Lilliann?
i like what you said on your profile page molly...just happens i'm watching schindlers list, so quite apt in some respects1
aye, i hope she is ok
hi, molly!
not bad molly, been hot here the last few days and the bairn away on a school trip until friday so quiet here!
just talked to my dad, apparently my stepbrother called my dad's next-door neighbor to tell him about my stepmom's heart attack (?). So he did know. No news since yesterday, though.
hope all is well with you molly
did your step brother call you 1st sue?
I've been through some incredibly tough things in the last year or so. I've come to realize that it's the small, gentle things we do for people that mean the most. Must be quiet without your girl Lilliann. Sue, continued good thoughts out for Dad's wife.
no although he texted me back after I texted him asking what was up (he'd texted me Sunday morning to tell me she was quite ill)
hi, folks
ahh, ok. would it not have been better to have phoned you sue so you could tell your dad?
well, i hope all goes well for you in the future molly, and you're quite rright about doing the little things.i think, even if you say please and thankyou, it means alot to people..
hi welki
it certainly is quiet without her molly. i'm missing her nore now as the last 2 school trips, her dad was there, not with her group but there so i'm like all the mam and dads at the moment but the school is texting us every day to say how they are and what they've done so that's nice
need a little help with the second re 5/14 and 7/36
sorry pc, not at the re's yet
i only have re6,21 :)
I'm glad that you are getting updates Lilliann. I'm sure you will be glad when she's home again. Our kids add such light to our lives.

Ha! Pain In The ***

Sounds good... I need to figure out what to make for dinner :(
Exactly ;)
2nd ce5/12 pls
hello all
i love your rabbit gobias. how unuseal, long haired face and short haired body! or is it??
hi peri
It is :) He is a lionhead.
Hi Peri
ce5-ce and sy*** - country in middle east
ty lil
sorry peri, my memory went blank again!! which is why i do this game but my family get annoyed as it's give us a clue with me!! :)
47 left, plodding along, I will finish but not liking this grid
i'm glad you got it peri, took me ages to think of a clue!
what are you sorry about lil, the clue was great
I have a hard time with grids like this, full of (to me) nonsense words.
57 here. i started at 9pm here and shouldn't have done!
neer saw a rabbit like that gobias
never, even
thanks peri
They seem to be popular around here right now peri. Someone looked it up the other night and I guess they are a fairly new breed.
neither have i peri, it's cute but strange looking , being half and half?
so what are the breeds than gobias?
as it is obviously cross bred??
He is a lionhead. I'm not sure what was mixed to come up with that?
oh ok, i love his head and wish his whole body was the same or vice a verca, maybe thats just me! but he's still cute and cuddly :)
i love long haired guinea pigs
I just googled it... they think it may have started as a cross between a dwarf and a wooly rabbit (like the jersey wooley)
He is lucky he is cute, because he really isn't cuddly! He has a very outgoing personality, but would rather not be handled.
oh ok, i've heard of a dwarf rabbit, but not a wooly one
And I also love long haired GPigs! I used to have 2. They were the best.
why do breeders cross breed animals?
I guess lionheads are a recognized breed in England? (I know nothing about showing rabbits! LOL)
I don't know, Lilliann. I hate that they do it with dogs and charge ridiculous fees for a "mutt."
be back in a bit... my computer is being taken over.
ahh, i love them gobias, never had any as i've always had cats, but when me and the bairn go to the local farm, we can hold rabbits and guinea pigs and i always push the bairns out of the way with my wheelchair so i can hold a guinea pig!! lol
bfn gobias

you mean with a puncture? well atleast you'd have fun putting a puncture kit on them! especially the higher thigh!! ;)))
I need a pair. my legs are sore, and I feel like whining but..I took care of a guy with Lou gherigs disease today, he could not move his arms...so hurty legs...not so bad.
i've never heard heard of Lou gherigs disease red. what is it?
It's a late developing neuromuscular disorder. Starts late in life, like 40's and pt is not able to control voluntary muscle movements and it is progressive...
is that all muscles or just certain ones?
as in just arms? legs etc
or all
generally it eventually involves all the muscles, and will usually eventually cause death...
lou gherig's = ALS
oh no, never heard of it? is it rare?
He was the first patient I have had who has it, so yes, fairly rare.
Lou Gherig was a famous Baseball player in the US, so it is more known here.
Hello KJE.
Hi Everybody. How are you all tonight?
hi kje
ok, 35 left, found all the 4-letter words. I am done. Going to watch TV and grade.
hi nef
great job uusue! and Hello Nef!
wtg sue
rare-ish, but one of the more common neuromuscular diseases... I have see quite a few cases
famous British physicist Steven Hawkings has ALS/Lou Gerhigs' disease
with people in their 40's kje?
starts in 40s to 60s usually
he is brilliant nef
it generally develops later in life.
yes, most I have see are in 40s or 50s
Like in the 40's and beyond.
so, how does it start?
(symptoms i mean
weakness
in muscles?
yes... any muscle group but usually a limb, but sometimes more cenntral
ok
wow little more than halfway and i am stumped
Correct me if I'm wrong here (and I often am lately!) but ALS and MS have some similarities at first, don't they, kje?
how is that?
i'm doing well so far :) i have muscle problems but that's because i can't walk, and my wrists and fingers are now affected, well, the last few years! my fingers have arthritis and my wrists i've had problems since i was 17, now 42 and geting on!! :)
i don't think of them the same
hi nef, kje and TO
but i've been told i have arthritis in my fingers
kind of a weird, vague weakness that's difficult to figure out?
ALS is purely motor... MS ca be motor or sesory ad has a very different course
hi lbd
hi To, sorry, i missed you
hello dawg
als is progressive, MS waxes ad wanes
so in that both ca cause weakess, sorta ca look the same, but they don't ted to preset the same cliically
my friend has MS aswell nef and it took the doctors a while to find it...apparently she had had it for years but not that thay couls see
I just Googled the difference and they aren't the same but both can affect gait and strength; and that's kind of what I meant by they start out with kid of vague weakness es
clue for i in first row pls?
im4.6 im + freud's smallest friend
ty.
lillian, I don't think my DH would have gone to the doctor when he had his first symptoms of MS; but I noticed a huge change in him and thought he had a stroke so made him go in.
i was the same with meneires, it took my consulstants years as i had different ?? can't think of the word and i had menieres and basilier migraine and they showed up by electrodes on my head, which is why i get dizzy and pass out...what joy!! but hey, i'm here and i love life and have a bairn who i do things ith when i can
*menieres
i didn't go to my gp for a couple months nef, but i was passing out at work and getting dizzy, ny gp at the time told me to take a holiday!!
great advice when you can't afford to take time off1
do you have hearig loss?
yes
i have 2 hearing aids
I've always thought it was easier to observe health problems in other people than it was to see them in myself.
classic
that was meat for lill
i now have no balance as my hearing was destroyed by injection in one ear when my balance was already gone, naturally in the othe one
doesn't seem to hold you back, lill
i get ringing in the ears alot of the time, especially when i'm lying down which drives me crazy!!
classic meniere's
I thik the ringing would almost be the worst
problem is, it does kje, as i lie down alot during the day because of dizzy spells and now since balance wne t my memory has been affected and i ger pressue in my head, i can't reach down to my toes sometimes, or up in the air
I would think the ringing would be horrid too. I've had the ringing with ear infections, and it's so terribly annoying
i can't excercise, can't go back and forwards as in rowing motion, etc
it's not nice nef as it can happen any time of the day
didn't mea to imply it doesn't affect you... just meant you still seem to do a lot.. travel and such when you can
meat i admire that you are out there doing what you ca
what annoys me, is that i had medical treatment because my consultant said it would work, amnd since then i lost my balance completely and lost my bairn's childhood...as in could skip, jump with her etc
lillian, are you in a wheel chair?
i travel as i'm sick of being stuck in my house 24/7, and i do get dizzy flying, but i don't care as i love taking off and landing even tho it does my head in!! lol...np kje, i didn't take offence1 :)
yes nef
the reason I ask is because my DH's mother was in a wheelchair from the time he was 6 yrs old on and THAT wasn't what he remembered about her
i have 2.
I did't think you would ; )
dam this thing is getting slow
Isn't a fun grid, is it?
actually 3. 2 normal wc. 1, can't think off the word..ahh remembered...metallic, the other is bright yellow and i have a dissability scooter
dow to 50... and not anymore
I was bored with it so I started reading the chog.
i wat the c's over
want
i have what i have kje, i have to get on with it. is till enjoy life, spend alot of it lying down...shame hubby isn't with me...lol but other people worse off!!
hi peach
what did he remember about her then nef?
i have all the c's! :)
(she had MS also) he remembered her beautiful smile and how she would listen to him and take time to teach him to read
lillian, I am so glad that we have our Babblers. Many times they have come to my aid, emotionaly and otherwise. I'm in a wheel chair now....polio at age 2 then two strokes in '02. Due to a physical attack on me by my son-in-law, I can barely lif my arms. Phone call bbl.
now I have all the c's too!
i do lots of crafty things with my baien to make up for the physical things nef
how old is your child, lillian?
ec?
peach, i'm sorry to hear about what you've been through and hope that you can get your mobility back in your arms
sorry, kje, I don't have it yet

the exted it for the sc6 ad sc7
sccolt 45? sczima?
LOL TO!
oh ok..lol, love you're nickname fb but i'd be wary!! lol

kje, i have a geriatric med question for you, did you update your skype yet?
ahh, now i see kje
do you get purple heather there then..we drive up on the moors with the heather and the sheep just wildm it's great...farmers do own them tho and they all have different colours and shapes on their backs so they know who owns them

heather is a plant not a weed!
cr 8 pls?
lill, my sister's name is heather ad when we were young we looked up her name in the dictioary ad one of the defs was scottish weed, so I would make her mad by calling her a weed... that is how it got started
cr8 - more wrinkled
t
ty
kje
yw
and i'm an odd enough duck that i took it as a term of endearment, and liked it, rather than being annoyed by it
ah, I meant it that way... all nicknames are terms of endearment, brat
lol
kje, my question is over on fb anyway, if you wouldn't mind taking a look-see. re: grandma.
but, when we were little it was def meant to annoy

adhd fingers
Now, if you huff and puff and you fina'lly save enough Money up to take your family on a trip across the sea, Take a tip before you take your trip; let me tell you where to go, Go to Engeland, Oh;
in pictures it looks like the drivers drive kinda fast over there
thats a good excuse, i'm going to use it when i spekll wrong1
i think everyone in europe drives fast
Mama's old pajamas and your papa's mustache, Falling out the window sill, frolic in the grass, Tryin' to mock the way they talk fun but all in vain, Gaping at the dapper men with derby hats and canes
do you have speed limits in England?
in the uk? france drive quicker and they flash lights and beep horbs!!
yes we do lbd
fast and faster?
I thought that was the way the italians drove
the only people that want to come here BR are the illegal immigrants!
*horns
Montana was one of the last ones to put a restriction on speed limits. federal dollars got the state to post 55
and french
on the motorways we can drive at 70 mph
zoom zoom zoom
but most people drive at 80
i think the law is trying to change to 80mph
those you cannot wear burqa in france are on the way
any age limits???
we have loads of people hiding in lorries trying to get here from france BR and also flying!
80, that's about right for here. even when posted at slower speeds
17
Lilliann, why are the French trying to leave their country?
So, lbd, it is 80 in the city... how about on the interstate?
i live opposite a school so really it should be 5mp but it's still 30mph, which isn't right, and we have speed bumps but people still go too fast!!
lololol
as fast as the car with the red lights will go, BR
it's not the french lbd it's illegal immigrants
from iraq, afghanistan etc
OH, gottcha now.
the french can live here as it's part of europe
The article I was reading indicated more european countries favor banning burqas
the french put them into the back of our lorries so thay can get rid of then
i read that somewhere too, BR
what do you think about it BR? do you think they should be banned?
ci6,24, please?
okay..what is a burqas???
ci + Golden bridge state abbrev, 3 letters + vowel, Jes
http://michelleg3399.wordpress.com/201 0/03/25/malalai-joya-and-the-burqa/
What I am concerned about is the ever larger encroachment on inalienable rights ... Americans seem content to give them away.
the outfit in that photo is a burqa
burqa is that veil muslim women have to wear
thanks, dawg

they's keep head banging the glass!!
you can probably find pictures of the raceways if you do a websearch
i imagine you could induce them to swim more quickly if you were to fast them for a day and then put food at the finish end of the raceway.
aybe fish food at the end of the finish line to make them swim towards the end
if that was me i would drown from not eatting. LOL
