ca9?
It's 7am here and I've just got up. This is going to be a frustrating grid. I need a spare e or n to finish off desolat.... A quick glance at the rest shows a pattern of half a word here and there, which will irritate me more that pulling up dandelions on my lawn. So I am going to pull dandelions and pick bluebells and face this grid a tad later in the day. Have a good sleep the rest of you.
too soon, thanks, dee
yw
hi and bye pat -- I know what you mean!
ca 9... blend of cows and buffalo... plural ru
thanks dee
ca 7/32 is one of them... ca 9 is plural with an extra vowel and ca 8 is without extra vowel...

ruru, yad slipped the singular into the chog a while ago -- he's probably sloshed with the champagne in the PB
lol jili... well I am off... going to see daughter for Mother's Day, so need to finish up a few things...
hmm hope it's good champagne
*poofing with hugs*...
happy mom's day to you dee.. and jilli too.
anyone like my first car? (today's icon theme)
I hope your son is coming to see you?
ty ru!!
ty ruru
that's a nice looking car there jilli
no son for mother's day -- but I'm going there next weekend. He and d-i-il are too involved with putting on The Merchant of Venice. I get to see the closing erformance and celebration next weekend.
I LOVED that car!
it's really cute
I remeber them in lime green too
It was vavaVOOOM!
LOLOL
I love the old Mustang's and T Birds
After that car I had a yellow Camaro -- didn't like the way it fishtailed.
wow.. I never like the Camaros
neither did I -- it was hubby's idea :-(
that's a muscle car jilli.. and not comfortable either
Well, just a meory now -- what was your first car?
*memory
bore da pawb - good morning everyone
hello glant
my first was a 57 Chevy Bel-Air.. but it never ran. then I bought a 66 Impala and I loved that car
thinking this grid is harder than it looked at first sight
hi Jilli
I have had so many cars I can't count them any more
3 hondas, 3 Lexus, 3 Chevys, 1 ford, 1 Toyota, 1 nissan, 1 volkswagon, 1 Mercedes, come to mind
and what now, ruru?
hmmm, 1 nissan, 2 fords, 3 vauxhalls, i renault and a mazda
I have a Lexus SUV .. the big one
gas guzzler!
yeah.. I get `17 mpg I guess
we tote the dogs a lot and need the room
couldn't afford to run that here
It costs me $100 TO FILL up these days
fuel is over $15 a gallon
omg.. wow
We had a Ford van and towed a 23 ft Prowler in our Dane-showing days. Fun.
I'd walk before I'd pay $15 per gallong
i put £120 worth into an ordinary station wagon yesterday and it wasn't even empty before i begn
sorry $120
i think your gallons are smaller than ours? ours are 8 pints
or is it your pints that are smaller? ours are 20 fl oz
I don't know I"m too tired to figure that out..lol
US gallons are smaller than Imperial ones.
found an ae 7 just now
please share
nm - got it
ae7 excercise
US pint = 16 fluid oz
so your gallon is 128 fl oz and ours is 160 fl oz
tyvm ruru
don't look at me -- I'm in Canada and we use litres now
we use litres too but i still think in gallons LOL
so the cost of our fuel is around $2.20 CA a litre
okay.. tennis in the early a.m.... I need to go to bed.. night all.. if I don't see you jilli have a lovely MOther's day and I hope that next week the play is great and they dote all over you and spoil you rotten.
we are so mixed up here, litres, gallons, pints, quarts, kilos, pounds, miles, kilometres, feet, inches, centimetres -- at least we don't have to calculate stones. And I remember having to do sums in £sd.
and about $9 US for a US galllon
Aw, thanks ruru - xx
poofs
we are all mixed up between imperial and metric here too - they began a conversion to metric in 1971 and it kind of fizzled out
bye rur
But the £sd wasn't in Canada -- in Shanghai, lol!
:-)
I began with £sd too - and remember farthings, 3penny bits, sixpences, florins
currency was much more interestig then LOL
and crowns, half-crowns, guineas (are guineas still alove?)
*alive
not really
technically would be one pound ten pence which doesn;t sound nearly as exotic as a guinea
I still have a silver sixpence --lent it to my d-i-l for the wedding -- Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a lucky sixpence in your shoe.
i've never heard the lucky sixpence bit but brides here still do the old, new, borrowed, blue
I heard Kate had a sixpence too...
she definitely had the old, new, borrowed, blue but not sure about the sixpence - must have missed the reference
28 left and that wall got me
I'll have to finish tomorrow...
bye yad and still ty for the
no prob, night
bye yad
ah, over halfway by quite a fe
i have 49 so far
*few
but very tired
64 left and I need my bed -- back later tomorrow (hosting a table of bridge in the afternoon). Goodnight all.
night jilli
*poof*
good morning
is anybody here?
Hi rubyfoo
hello diane. Where are you? I don't recognize the flag
I'm in Hong Kong
ahah, so it's tomorrow hahah
It's Saturday afternoon here.
Saturday morning here
hmm, I'll have to look at a time-zone map
evening all :)
{{mrp}}
(((ruby))) !!
first 50 were easy; now I've come to a screeching halt!
Mother's Day tomorrow, roads are just pathetic today... no parking or space to shop!!
I don't know when it's Mothers' Day in France, but I'll probably get a call from my (dutiful) son!
oh isn't he wonderful!!
yes, but mainly dutiful... :(
ha !
71 words and, finally, nbt! but the 9? I don't think so
the 9.... will try and clue you?
meowing critter (plus extra lettter) and things that go before vera.
ok, you need to find the ca6...
dianne!! (((hugs))) !!
((dianne)) it was on the tip of my tongue NOT!
meow creature + claws on a eagle
Hi right back at you. How are you doing?
without the n at the end of the claw clue
then plural it for the c9
oops, I mean you had to find the ca7 first
how do you find words like that? I have to go and be polite to our house guests. See you later and thanks for the help. 76 words, now
good to see you Dianne! Long time darling!
*poof*
see ya ruby!! (((hugs))) !!
I've beereally busy and haven't made the time to chat. I have lurked a bit. Hope all is o.k. with you and yours.
getting there dianne, if you take time to read my bio, it shows the crap, but things are coming around really well!
I refereed my first Premier League Soccer game today (and was assessed) and really really enjoyed it!!
I am moving on up the ladder in the football world and really happy with my success so far
Just read your bio and I am thrilled that you got his back pinned to the wall. Go for that public apology!
absolutely Dianne... I have been blocking him constantly, and now he has to say something, cause the innuendo and lies have caused so many problems.
Are you worried about your safety?
yes Dianne, very! But I am gettting a lot of councelling for it
Did you get a restraining order against him?
no, because I thought if I did, he would do something worse to get at me... the CJC will use a magistrate and probably put one up against me, without me asking for it.
he will also be paying punative damages
I'm glad to hear that he will pay damages.
thanks dianne... appreciate your kindness
i am going to get terri1 on here to have a chat and play... brb
evening everyone
boose 'not fouind in the dictionary' you are 'aving a giraffe it is found in most other places on Babble!!!!!
of course not that isnt how you spell it-think I'll go and lay down in a darkened room

Hi guys hope all well and happy. It's mothers day tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it.
good afternoon all. My husband and daughter aren't home tomorrow and they surprised me with a lovely breakfast today :)
hi terri! so tired, but gonna watch the football come hell or high water!! QPR v Leeds.... and QPR have been promoted to EPL!!
Good morning all. Sprite, what a lovely thing for your daughter and husband to do. Happy Early Mother's Day.
Hi Molly, thanks :) Hello mrP
Hey, MrP I think you meant the magistrate will put a restraining order up FOR you, not against you!
hi molly and sprite
yes, you are right... magistrate will put a PVO out against him without me asking for one. Would be perfect
Oh, nice to celebrate early. Good for you sprite
against the lunatic who set fire to your place? Good starting point.
I really appreciate them thinking about it and putting in the effort to do it a day earlier :) Makes me happy.
You have a good circle around you Sprite. : D
my profile says it all about what he has been doing. I can't prove he did it, but can prove causal links.
oh yes. Am grateful about them every day.
it is nice you got your Mother's Day!!
Isn't it the little touches that make Mothers Day special? I always have a good day.
I always am very clear about not accepting any expensive presents. I used to love the things the kids made for me when they were little. And I love the attention... breakfast, a flower, an extra hug. Those are the things that make Mother's Day for me :)
I just wanna sleep in and go to the football! I have had my hubby organise a dinner date and I work tomorrow... excellent day ahead for me for Mother's Day!! Wishing all you mums the best day too
sounds wonderful, mrP. I hope you have enough energy to enjoy it. Take care.
thank you
mrp - just read your profile. So sorry for what has been going on with you. It sounds very scary. Do you know what kind of treatment you will have for your cancer? I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year so cancer patients are close to my heart. Hang in there!
Absolutely, that's what counts. I love hugs from my son. He's a teenager now but will always give me a hug. Gee, I hope the hugs don't stop coming.
faith, I find out everything on the 24th May. having a couple of problems makes it difficult, but I would like to opt for a hystorectomy personally
Sprite, well said. It is the little things that make Mother's Day, and every day, special.
they might for a while, terri, but they will come back, grin. My son still hugs me (he is almost 15), but I am not allowed to give or expect a hug when there are friends close.
I can imagine, mrP. Safety first. And the thing is more trouble than blessing at our age, when we don't want a new baby anyway.
mrp - oh I hope you don't have to have a hysterectomy! The hormone swing can be quite the wild ride. I am on tamoxifen and having many menopausal symptoms as side effects even though I am only 37 and it isn't fun.
Ah, yes sprite. He can be different when they have friends around.
am so sorry, fbf :( I know it isn't that bad for everyone. A number of friends of mine had to have one and now they say they truly enjoy the hormonal balance.
I'd hate to be their age again, terri :) I don't mind about the hugging rules, I rather admire their courage in finding their way through the dark and misty forests of adolescence ;)
yes, everyone is different so it is hard to know how it will affect each person.
must be tough when it is such a rollercoaster ride, fbf. I hope it settles down for you soon.
just to add my two cents worth in...i had to have a hysterectomy about 8 1/2 years ago, they were able to leave in the ovaries and i have been great.
Too true sprite
that is great to hear, littlebit. The part about having been great I mean.
faith, 37 is so young!! I hope is settles for you (((hugs))) !!
yes it is!! thanks sprite :)
it comes in cycles so I enjoy the good times. :) I keep reminding myself the meds are supposed to keep the cancer away so that is a good trade off!
good it worked out so well for you little... must be a blessing now
it should be illegal for babblers to fall seriously ill :(
thanks mrp it is wonderful
i will bbl... need to have a lie down... terri can tell you all about my fun and games if she wishes :)
Morning Lilbit.
all the best, mrP, and have a lovely Mother's Day!
have a good rest mrp!
hey molly
later mrp!
this isn't a fast and smooth grid, is it?
Not at all Sprite.
no it is not
glad it isn't just me then! Am pecking away at it one word at a time.
I've seen more "almost words" than actual words.
indeed!
good morning everyone:)
hiya crossy :)

Colonoscopies--yuck.
tortous colon etc
fbf, have you checked the box for Show My Profile?
that's too bad crossy, hopefully she won't have too much of a problem with that anymore
maybe that's it - i'll check that
half the problem is drinking all that darn peglyte the night and morning before
yep
she is tough as heck and she will overcome i am sure
good for her...and i'm sure you help her out a lot :)
coordination of chog and grid: just found pr5 LOL
My husband ate jello all day and drank only half of that poison and he was fine. He also gave a talk the evening before his colonoscopy- all to prove he wasn't a wimp after I told him how hard the whole prep would be
*grins at Une*
Ahahahaha Une!
Just to show off and say "it's not so bad"
lol une!!

The average piano has about 230 strings, and each string averages about 165 pounds of tension, with the combined pull of all strings equaling over eighteen tons.

And the deer and the antelope play!!!!

got it!
thx ;)
yw
Hello, Pini. Another not so challenging grid.
hi BR! :)
How's the hammock doing?
I took the hammock down since the canadian geese had taken a liking to it.
oh no!!!
shame on them!
...and how are the waters coming along? receding?
The water is down 11.69 feet .... needs to go another 9 feet to get below flood level.
wow...it's come a long way yet has so far to go!
Hope it clears soon and that you can enjoy spring ... and perhaps rehang your hammock so as to enjoy the summer!
hi pini and br, glad to hear the water is receding!
The sun has been a more regular visitor and buds are forming on the trees. The geese likely will be moving on now that the temperatures are rising .... had twenty inches of snow in Manitoba last week ... to cold for the geese.
hi uu
our campus library had to rope off one set of stairs because geese were nesting next to it and attacking students who walked by :-/
yikes, uu! sorry to hear, but glad we've not had to do the same thing
I think this is where they come when they leave you, br, lots of babies now
although the warmer it gets, the more squirrels are appearing out and about on campus....makes it tough to walk...dodging squirrels and/or walking on a bunch of nutshells
there's a nice little path through the woods that I take to my office but the squirrels dig it up every fall burying nuts (it's wood chips)
Need to recruit Koda for squirrel management.
Oh, trust me...when he goes to campus with me and sees a squirrel, it's on!
Time to get working on the recycling detail. Have a great day.
enjoy, BR! cya soon! :)
(and stay dry!)
Still singing...oh give me a home, where the ca9 roam. : P
cute, molly...now it's stuck in my head!
may I please have a diff clue for that ca, so i can get that earworm out of my head?
cross between felines and bison? (not my clue but got it for me earlier)
ca9 = feline with a stutter + buff***** (pl)
* snap * uu ;)
that's a ca7 but then two different styles of plural give you an 8 and a 9
omg, it really IS a blend of those 2 animals.. wow...
thanks all y'all
;)
The word of the day, however, is lo7/36. Good Lord, I've seen some stupid words in these grids, but that one takes the cake.
apparently not a common one, eh?
earworm of the day - Here we go L***y- Loo, here we go L***by-lie,
hi folks
does that 7 come from the little tiny thing?
re 5/12 and 6/24 combo?? hint pleast
The lo 7 starts like an oil job, but spelled differently.
re 5 and 6 are not a combo, re 5 is to give a weapon again
re6 is to start your computer again
JBV!! I was singing that earlier myself. All on a Saturday night!
hi Molly - love your bluebird!
thinking I have the start, but not the end
Thanks JBV. I've been feeling a little out of sorts lately and bluebirds are a sign of hope.
nice symbol - I will take heart from it also
nm ... got it
Plural Pini
thanks jbv... gottem
ah the lo6 rhymes with girl parts
It's that line from the song...so keep on looking for a bluebird, and listening for his song, whenever April showers come along.
Well yeah, girl parts if you are an adolescent male. : P
for nbt I would love a clue for the end row up, 4th column T
hee Molly, that's why I said it that way
and speaking of April showers - I'm sending out good hopes and wishes for anyone affected by these horrendous floods
do you have ti 6?
Take the l and the e out of what you sit on in the bathroom.
in fact, i do not, jbv
think of lumberjacks.....
af?
ah like h***ty-t**ty
the pancakes or the manly men
af 6/27
af 6...the rear of the ship + Santa R***
pancakes? no I meant trees falling.....
nm, got it. thanks jbv
I thought it was "when I get a round to** ", haha
thx molly
JBP! The pancakes are flapjacks. : P
(smacks forehead with slightly syrupy hand), oh yeah!
my phantom: desolate
with 73 kleft, hope to bbl. thanks for all the FAB clues!
Please don't ever call a lumberjack a flapjack unless you are a very fast runner.
I am so accustomed to words winding around the grid that I never *see* the ones that are straight.
Yep. me too. Sodium chloride sat there for at least a half hour before I saw it.
morning all
hi, jes and molly!
Hi Jes.
hello jes
and bea!
ca 6/30?
Sue, pretty icon
nm, got it
thx, molly! there are four planets in it :-)
One beautiful evening in my life, I took my portable hammock down to the beach. There was no one there but me, the ocean, a fingernail moon and Venus. Oh, and a beer. A most lovely experience.
I love looking at the sky, day or night - always fascinating! (unless it is totally socked in, although even clouds can be interesting)
I guess I better get my walk in since no one else will do it for me...
50 left. Back this evening. *poof*

Frog, Seve was a legend. I was sorry to hear of his passing.
yes, I grew up watching him - and think he could have given Tiger a run for his money had they been around at the same time as each other!
My boss was an avid golf fan (he passed last February). We have a picture of Seve in our office.

how goes?
i haven't gotten that error today, kap (yet)
No problem here Kaplan, just a bit sluggish at times
Well, let's see how it goes.
(Of course, I'm not entering very fast right now, either)
I had to refresh d/t connection error
uh oh i think i broke babble...
Stop that!
what'd you do, TO?
You broke it, you own it!
Red box again! Oh-oh!
oh, way to go, kap, now i've got the error bar :P
Or is that uh-oh?
Yeah, like it's MY fault.
I'm still not having any problems.
:D
Irony: I type my last comment and then get the red box
I just had the red box again...
Here we go...
heheh. you were kinda asking for it, gwen... :D
true
hi all
the ca words are scaring me.
hi beach
Hi beach
jes, I've just gotten the first ca and the last two. The others are scaring me, just eluding me!
*aren't
those are the same i have...
9 letter words are scary just on the basis of size though :)
ooh! Just found ca6/30
and ca 6/21!
yay! (i am not as tenacious and moved on to other words...)
The 7-8-9 are words for a hybrid animal of a cow and a buffalo, with two different plurals.
wow...thanks gwen
u clues?
um5 is a brownish color
thanks gwen; the only ones i knew were beefalo...
ty. got the color.
For the u4, think of the Disney elephant, or extra-big shrimp
dont know cow and buffalo animal. is there such an animal?
well i never heard that ca animal word before. or the plurals.
Feline animal + bronze giant in Greek mythology
ty for other u word. got it.
Hello everyone
i am disappointed in the 9 word.
Why, mkg?
?
ok. back from re4ing the article about ca8 :)
i didn't know they crossed them with yaks too.... or that water buffalo can't cross with bison
i enjoy the cleverness of the long words which i cant find. but this one i never heard of.
I agree, mkg. It is a weird word.
well, now you have a new word, mkg. don't be disappointed by that.
Hi Babble friends. Just a quick visit. Off on my holidays tomorrow :-)
Hi Soodle!
hey soodle, have a lovely holiday!
Thanks :-)
what is with this chat today?
Gah, is anyone else getting the error boxes?
MKG, could you clue the 9 letter word, please?
getting red boxes
was earlier, mark. seems to've stopped here, but it's been going around.
Same, mkg
me, too
yes to red boxes .... boo
I hate them.
ca8 & ca9 are plurals of a hybrid animal (ca7), which is a cross between a cow and a buffalo.
9: ca. feline pet, double last cons. then think of a mix of a cow and buffalo and that is the word and plural two different ways
Oh thanks, Mkg. My poor monkeys would never have got that one!
lo 7, please?
like slang for breasts but different first letter
Oh thanks. I was thinking of a different slang word, and it wasn't working. But got it now.
off for a bit. laters, gators! :)
Bye jes!
Bye Jes. Have a good day :-)
May I have some of the bottom a?
Mark - you are certainly an international man of mystery! Every time I see you, you are flying a different flag!!
Well, that reminds me.
I feel another flag coming on........
Mark: a women singer, lower than soprano
Thanks gwen
Another set: something to put on burns.
I am a singer myself, so I got that rather quickly.
No, I don't recognize the last clue you gave, gwen. thank you anyway.
STUPID RED BOXES!
Its obviously contagious. I'm getting them now :-(
It's a plant, Mark. It's could also be a greeting (another way of saying 'hello'), if said with the proper accent.
Hmmm, closer this time but still not getting it.
how about, a + not high?
Finally, thank you very much.
I'll take a clue for ti6.
lumberjack yell
oh, never mind
Thanks anyway, jessmom!

Sorry
Jumping out for a while. Hope to be back later to finish. Bye! And thanks for the help.
Bye Gwen!
Bye Gwen :-)
<-------- Note change of flag, in anticipation of my holliers!!!
Flag change. Cool.
It only took me about an hour and a half to figure out how to change it. LOL
hi, all!
Hello Sue :-). Lovely to see you.
nice to see you too, soodle!
How is your dad and step mom Sue?
Hi uu!
pretty good, last I heard. My stepmom should be going home soon unless something has changed (with 24-hour nursing care, but still!)
hi, mark!
and my dad is fine as usual; his best boyhood friend (they've known each other for almost 85 years) is coming by to visit him in a couple of weeks, so they should have a good time :-)
Wow. Thats good! I am off to Spain with my 80 yr old Mom tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about the trip, she is pretty high maintenance, and not too well. I hope your dad has a great catch-up iwth his old buddy :-)
Spain is awesome! My sister just went to France.
oh, soodle, it should be fun anyway. where in Spain are you going?
Its an island off the coast of Africa, in the Canary Islands, called Lanzarote, but belonging to Spain. Like I said.....mixed feelings!
I take French though (just like my sister)
Sounds cool though.
where in france, mark?
In a town called Rodez, in way south France.
huh, don't know it.
No, it isn't a very well-known town.
France is lovely. Mark, have you chatted with Rubyfoo - she is an American, transplanted in
Hic... France...
Of course.
Another red box for me!
ok, I see it - I spent a couple of weeks in a tiny town west of Beziers once, very nice
and I am getting sporadic red boxes as well :-(
Awesome!
That is not awesome.
The town is, the boxes aren't, just clarifying.
right, I got that :-)
Hey, I am more than halfway. Haven't looked at the chart for a while.
good work!
Tyvm
snack time, bbs
Ok then
Time I wasn't here. See ya'all.
Bye soodle, have fun in Spain!
Not quite poofed.... When you say you are a singer, Mark, are you in a choir/band/solo ?
I sing in a choir. In my next concert I have a solo, but I don't usually sing alone.
I play in the orchestra also.
Yay Mark! What instrument do you play?
Violin
Why did I know that you would be a fiddler :-p
At least I'm not a fiddler...crab! (terrible pun, I know)
Sheesh!
I am filled with them. I inherited them from my father.
BBL
Bye Mark.

well rich in books anyway, jes -- how are the critters today?
It is a great day out in the sun... 2 games, both 90 minutes, so I start at 1pm and finish around 5pm... good exercise all round
***Back to the perplexing season finale of "Fringe"****
not too bad. hound dog didn't like the thunder earlier
bye, molly
I haven't seen one of the new doctor who... is he fabulous??
that sounds lovely indeed! we have a bit of sunshine at the moment, but most days here are still very gray, cold and rainy. NOT typical spring weather for these parts.
we don't get thunder very often, thankfully
Molly, I tried watching fringe but got very lost in the plot at times
it was shortlived, so that's good
sounds wonderful, mrp!
and stid, I am jealous of the books (although I still have mountains of books here that I haven't read yet...)
((sue)) most of them are children's books of course, some reference books, some art books, some fiction, some history... I LOVE books. Probably should have gone for a librarian's degree instead of teaching. (too late to change that now)
brb phone
ah, puter is about to die... if I disappear, sorry and (goodbye in advance).
take care, mrp!!!
bye, mrp, enjoy the sunshine!
bye, mrp, enjoy the sunshine!

hi crossy!!!

thnx uusue
thnx jes also
back(ish) hey cross, bye mrp.
hey stid, i never heard what happened with the son and the senior project?
the performance was allowed, it went well. Mother was able to be there. He was given an alternate assignment to complete -- a sort of reflection, but I don't know if he followed the directions or if it was accepted. So... still waiting to find out if my evening June 14 is scheduled.
anyone there? my last two entries were rejected...
mine were too, but then i could start entering again
good. *waves at teach* four more weeks of student teaching, and then (presumably) I will get certification!
only 11 more to go and want to get done quickly and don't want any more of those red boxes
congrats - i am just finishing three years of being retired from teaching - and loved those years with the kids
go teach go! I can only barely imagine retirement. It's still at least 25 years away for me, closer to 30 if they raise the retirement age as much as they really need to.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
welcome to the grid, min!
my granddaughter will start in kindergarten where I taught and I am looking forward to volunteering back there
By the way, congratulations to all of the finishers!YAY
that will be fun, teach! I am realizing only now how very different teaching is from volunteering to help small groups and individuals! LOL oh well, I like the large group instruction too, it's just the classroom management piece that is slow to develop.
ah, NBT!
the management will come more easly when you have a classroom of your own and can start from the first day in establishing rapport, structure, etc.
and back to lesson planning. Feather sent me copies of some of her forms for keeping things straight and I am going to try them out tonight.
oh teach! ((((many hugs)))) that is what I needed to hear this evening. :-D
yay, stid! Sounds like things are going well!
and hi, min!
yes sue, they are pretty smooth -- I keep waiting for that anvil to fall on my head. Two of my dear friends in the cohort for the master's learned only this week that they are being dropped. Four weeks from graduation. Pretty sad.
Hi there uusue2! How are you doing this fine evening?
ouch! That is tough.
i have served as the cooperating teacher and the university supervisor for student teachers and have seen how much more stressful student teaching (in someone else's classroom) is than "real" teaching
I'm good, min! Just have a little grading to do this weekend and I am putting it off :-)
but next week is finals so a frenzy of grading to do but then I will be DONE!!!
I don't think that is going to happen to me, though. My supervisor is a retired principal and she is very affirming when I have questions or worries. She is also very clear about what I need to do to get better... I benefit greatly from people being direct.
we had to file plans of action very soon in to the semester if the student teacher was "failing" - we wouldn't have been able to wait that long in to the semester - we had to show a corrective action plan and to document their attempts at changing the specific behaviors where they were in trouble - that is awful
ah, that's good, stid!
yes, I had a rough start, but we ironed things out quickly and it's much better. I think what is pulling me through is my clear desire and efforts at improvement. I wasn't really familiar with this grade level (elementary) when I started, most of my volunteering and interest is with middle schoolers.
stid - i;m sure that you will make a good teacher who will care about your students
B's Banished! 1 left
ah yes, different ages can be very different! I can't imagine teaching children, actually (young adults are challenging enough!)
go min!!
I am done! I have fireworks! ca6/30 was my last word
thanks teach. I am learning so much, and I can tell the improvement in myself. anyway, I do want to get this bit of planning out of the way so I can spend tomorrow analyzing the results of the assessments I gave last week. *proud mama teacher look* most of the students showed wonderful improvement, and it was clear that "practice makes perfect" for many of them! have a lovely evening all.
YAY min!!!
yay, min!
I will be here off and on to give clues if anyone needs.
sounds good, stid!
*departs, leaving a wake of choclits* *poof*
Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the log.

hi, jilli amd crossy!
but,my best gift was the gift or reading from a teacher i cannot remember and do not know the name of...she spent extra time with me till it "clicked" and i was off like a rocket..i can never repay that gift..there is not enough money.so remember when you teachers are having issues, and stress..remember the gift yoy give of one little boy learning to read...
