awwww. I was envious. can I go there? haha
The lilacss are out, and they smell goood
my lilac bush is tiny and this was the first year it flowered but it's not visible from the house, will take another 5 years or so
If I am there I'll be talking a lot comparing Philippines. haha
Lilacs here are in full swing as well. The daffodils are over but the tulips ar ereally getting going.
we are too far from the ocean, choco, and the food is not nearly as good as what you are used to, I'm sure!
our tulips, lilacs, wisteria and daffs are finished. Now it's roses, peonies, and little border plants
everything pink, purple, salmon, red and blue
and iris for the first time
azaleas almost finished
Irises are getting going here too. Van Gogh (of course) and wild yellow flags.
ours are pale blue-vilet and deep deep purple
violet*
The dog mowed down a whole stretch of yellow flags in the canal just before that all went down... would have been a really cute photo, him with irises all over him.
I'm surprised it's so much colder there, monkey
I only have Japanese Irisis. The Van Gogh types got worms in the tubers. I supposed if I were ambitious I could do something about them
Actually it's REALLY nice again now.
Ruby broke a lot of the irises, too, and I can't teach her to wipe her feet!
I know very little about it, biichon; they're just wild here.
Japanese iris are gorgeous!
wild iris? wow
It's boggy here. They like that.
They are gorgeous ruby. If I only would dig them up and divide them it would be great.
how did you know about the worms? That is the only thing I'm afraid of.....
my iris are the result of a friend's dividing hers
The whole canal where people walk dogs at the end of my street fills up with them.
I don't mind spiders, snakes, lizards, bats, beetles, etc., just worms
They aren't actualy worms, but some kind of burrowing thing. One year I dug up the tubers, socaked them in a bleach solution and replanted. They next year they were great
can you take a picture and post it in FB?
Worms are good. My compost pile has lots of them
not of the worms....
Of the worms or the irises?
that's why I don't compost
Since I don't garden as much, I have lots of compost. So what should I take a picture of, the Japanese Irises?
if I am wearing gloves, I've learned to deal with them, but really get the shudders. And I've handled everything else including injured birds, mice, snakes, spiders, etc
please, yes, the irises
uh oh, I have to check on the oven
They bloom next month, so I will. What is your FB name?
guys what is the exact name of the city you live in? I want to do a research. hehe
nancy kelley (but there are many, so you need e-mail address, I think, nelliekelley50@yahoo.com)
do you have GoogleEarth choco?
yep.:)
is it okay if I add you up too ruby?
if yes, look up Annecy France
sure, choco
it shows the lake and the mountains and since it's not a strategic area, you can get pretty low views
are you online in facebook?
is bichon still here?
sometimes, but mostly for lexulous, I don't use FB otherwise
I searched in google only. haha
but the place is good..
I don't think I'm that famous, hahah
but googleEarth is wonderful
wait a minute please.
see you later, I'm baking a big chocolate cookie for myself
*poof* OK, waiting
Bye Ruby! Nice to "see" you!
choco, if you find Annecy, travel south and east around the lake and you'll see me waving from my garden
{{monkey}}, I'm glad you are feeling better.
Thanks! It'll be OK; the muscles in that arm got pretty, ehm, mashed about, but the rest is doing really well.
husband was lucky with his, the bites took a lot of flesh but didn't get to tendons, nerves or muscle
but he's afraid of dogs now (not ours, of course)
Lucky! He still got it vastly worse than I did though. I hope he's doing OK now.
we go back to court in June to try to get some damages, but it's doubtful. I will also make a petition with our neighbors to have the dog put down as he is a (huge) menace
That's understandable. I was browing pics today and caught myself automatically discouinting any dog that looked even vaguely like Tripy Frank. I hope he gets over it; I will be striving to do so.
That dog needs to be put down. Good luck.
he weighs about 90 lbs, all teeth and muscle (dog, not husband, lol)
TF weighs 93.
our chows weigh about 75-80 lbs, but are as gentle as can be
that Nazis used Beaucerons to guard the camps
the*
Yeah, I know I had a fluke experience, don't worry; most dogs are not like this.
who's baking choco cookie? BAKE ONE FOR MEEEEEEE.. hahaha :D
Yes. Way too many pictures of that kind of thing HERE!
if you hurry and get on the next plane, it might still be warm
*arrives in chog just in time for cookies*
aawww.. I wanna go skiing. I've never experienced that. :/
Hi there!
yea, I'm on ruby! I'm on!!! hahaha
ü
I have husband's bites in my photo file, but I don't think you would want to see them. When we went to court, there was a collective eeeewwww when people saw them.
yay, choco
I've accidentally seen too many while looking up recovery tips and things so I think I don't need to give those an ogle...
*poof* for now
for sure, monkey
Toodloo, Ruby!
let's talk for a while monkey. haha. :D
If I can. Things get busier at work around this time.
aww. that's bad. anyway, I'm working too. hehe. I'm just sneaking..
*poof* too. hahaha :D
I'm allowed to do this kind of thing when nothing else is going on.
ruby, give me your email address [you can send it to muffinbiscuit@gmail.com] and I can send you pictures of my Janpanese Irisis]
Bichon, she posted it below.
Bich, can we call you Muffin Biscuit? : P
good morning, everyone
Hi Annie!
MG! So n ice to see you, How is Walter?
He's fine, just fine. We had a very bad experience last week but I made sure the next days were really fun and distracting so he's over it. Otherwise all's well!
bad experience?
Well, not COMPLETELY over it-- we all miss the dog.... Yes, our new rescue adoption dog attacked me during a walk. Walter was there. I'm OK; between 15 and 20 bites but all shallow and the only really bad damage is a lot of muscle involvement on my arm but that'll be OK in a few weeks.
ha 6/24 plz
Oh MG, not too happy an event. Glad everything turned out well, tho and no one seriously hurt.
dont have
sorry, dont have ha 6
Hi sue
He just flipped out. This from being a very Good Dog. 93-pount golden/ridgeback cross, but with a bad background we gradually pieced together after adoptying him from the sister of the owner, the owner having killed himself the week before. We'd had the dopg nearly 3 weeks.
hi
i am sneaking on at school
Sad story, MG...poor dog
I'm at work, by the way, so if I suddenly de-chat it's because things got to jumping here.
hello..again. and again.
You can call me muffinbiscuit any time Molly
: D Yay! : D
Yes, poor dog. We were really starting to bond. He's in good hands now; they will evaluate him with a behaviorist to see if there's any way they can make him adoptable, but then to a single man; he likes men better.
hi momo, bichon

anybody have suggestions of questions to put on a FAQ page for a veterinary clinic website?
at least there are only 19 tonight
jes, maybe "how long would i need to leave my pet for"
Yep Cos, more news?
jes, I assume you have the usual things about when to call the vet, when to rush in with the pet and don't wait, what you can treat yourself
Jes, payment options?
im developing a website
That's great. It's a lot of work. My husband was a web site designer.
we have a whole page for costs of routine procedures and payment options, this is more for random things you'd call and ask
what should I feed my pet, what should I never feed my pet (also for jes)
http://deafdems.weebly.com (will upgrade to my own domain after im done)
"what foods are lethal to my pet", jes?
oh, good one, uusue. i do have a "pets and your medication don't mix" blurb to put up there, but didn't have anything about food.
bbl for last 5
Very nice Cos. I bet you will get a lot of traffic. Make sure you have good search engine optimization.
hi, all--down to three--any help with ma 7/32?
i will. im working on something to get people to sign up for a mailing list. i need to figure how to do that :)
male + not day
Not day seems to be the popular ending in this grid
ty, jess! thought i had tried all possibilities with that 4-letter opening--but hadn't!
how about st 7/28 and 8/40?
Cos, make sure you check out other web sites for deaf people and trade links with the owners if they are agreeable. It will get you some attention.
i was going to do that too, thanks for the remind!
st 7 is the energy you need to finish something.
st8...mans name + not day
thx, molly, but i need the second st 7/28
thanks for the 8, molly
the st7 you clued is the 32 though
sorry foam, i don't have the 7/28
thx for the 8, molly--again, thought i had tried e/t in that "corner" --but hadn't!
so now i need only the 7/28 right before molly's clue word
st + vowel + number before ten
st 7/28 a material that will recolour something - maybe to cover up a mark - you could use it on wood
ah! just monkeyed it! ty, all! can i return the favor for a/o?
thanks, molly

cosd is deaf??
more like a kayak, jmc
and yes
no its is an eskimo word wor a boat
i is. yes. :P
hmmm
drat can't show you my PSE in the chat! lol
my hubby was deaf
lol.. im amazed at how many babblers know some kind of sign language
oo + **nd your own business + b**k to the future
ty helen
its funny, my parents are deaf, my etachers used signed exact english so now i know asl, pse and see :P
thanks helen - had the last letter wrong
thanks helen!
oo + do re _ _ + - - t the way you should
I had a deaf uncle but only learned to spell out a few words ("I love you" is not useful in general conversation, typically)
and belated thanks to sammy
SEE seemed a little silly but i understood the theory that it helped language skills
yw
but you had to fingerspell soooooo much
lol sue ud be surprised at how many people come up to me and say "Look i can sign i love you" and show me
and off to work i go... laters, gators.
jmc exactly. my theory, while not popular among deaf, is to use see/pse in elementary schools and when they enter high school to use asl that way their language skills can be good.. like mine :P
my uncle lost his hearing when he was 15 (meningitis) so he spoke well.
I've often thought I would like to learn ASL but haven't done it yet, maybe after I retire :-)
i spent a lot of time with a woman who was big on speech reading--but to me it seemed that some people would be good at one and some at the other
www.aslpro.com and www.lifeprint.com both great sites to teach urself
my hubby was a great speech reader but couldn't sign for shit
i confess i have always rejected the ASL sign for hearing people as been a little too similar to the N word for me to call myself that
recently read Oliver Sacks' book about the deaf and ASL, quite fascinating!
im pretty good at lip reading. 80% accuracy but thats from 13 years of speech therapy... i can mouth words very well but ryan took ASL classes so he's fluent so we just sign unless we're in different rooms and ill talk to him but if he wants to respond he has to come in lol
ah yes thats true theres a stigmata towards"hearing" people among deaf people but not with me
ha 6/24 ?
i understand and sympathize cosd--pillow talk in the dark and a lot of conversations in cars were out
*signs "deaf president now"*
easter dinner+pt of what you did to it
u know whats sad about deaf president now? I. King Jordan is now viled and hated.
too true
deal women really ha**d me because i had one of the few straight deaf guys! lol
but i like King hes always been good to me (I went to Gallaudet)
you went to Gallie? how nice
thats why i lived in DC :)
oh i see
*deaf women -- i meant
lol theres an inside joke about gallaudet.. (Gally is.. gay and lesbians love you) cause there were so many of us haha
my great grandson, (who is 3) is learning to sign and does quite well at it.. he does not have a hearing problem but one of his classmates and a friend does , so he likes to talk to them.
that will be a very useful thing to put on a resume, sammmys
lol i never heard that one cosd but totally understand it
my son actually used sign before he could talk--the motor skills for sign are easier than the ones for forming words
i had the room next to the guy who was murdered on campus
the first thing he read was a page in a sign language book where he saw the word for mother
clue for the last ac7, please?
oh so sad cosd--were you there then?
baby sign is becoming very popular now
yes.. it was scary
there is more than one ac7?

that was a perfect clue !!
Yay! I passed the halfway mark. If I could one of my elusive N's I could go to sleep in peace.
my clue didn't work?
the way I've been going it was most likely not the one you needed
OK Just refreshed, wasn't getting any messages. Let's see....
Are you missing the n that sounds like a thin, street child that starts with w?
I still need one of the n's from the second row for NBT, and am down to 58 left.
Mich perhaps doesn't know Fiddler on the Roof - !
Found the clue, got it!!
great mich now go to bed lol
The w word that is spelled different but sounds the same as Necco ***er
OH BOY does Michele know Fiddler....
I bet she does lyn lol
one of my all time favorites
I sometimes feel like I live it! LOL
how many daughters do you have Mich?
champ one n is a number ni4/4
have that...need the one next to it...second row down and across...please...it's making me nuts!
na4.5 & 5.16 are inexperienced one/s - usually spelled with a ve end
3 daughters and 4 sons. We are making my son's wedding in 10 days, my 2 older daughters got married in December and April, respectively.
I am on a roller coaster.
YES! Thanks Lynxxx!!!
oh my goodness Mich what a lot of happy times
Wow! Busy!
Perhaps you would like to run away to Australia Mich - WOW
Busy and happy!
Why Lynxx, don't people get married there?
LOL
Just thought you would like a break!
After my son's wedding I will have a break - I am hoping it will only be a break and not a break down!!
Mich you seem like you could handle anything
Thanks West, that is the sweetest thing to say.
even 3 weddings in less than a year !!
Just under half a year really. My life has turned up side down but it is great!!
do they all live nearby?
My two daugters live very nearby for now, just a few minutes' walk. My son will be near his in-laws, on the other side of the city.
that's so nice
and when the babies start coming you'll be in 7th Heaven
It's great. My daughters married brothers. Just the other day I called one daughter and they were all giggling together!!
You said it West, I can hardly wait!
wow and is your son marrying the husbands' sister?
That was the joke for quite a while. His friends even printed up a huge engagement announcement for him with a mythical sister's name. But no, just a nice girl from a different family.
wouldn't that be one for the record books?
I have a gastrenterologist who is famous because he is one of 3 brothers who married 3 sisters!! It's actually pretty rare.
but that is very cool
Very cool, but tricky. I see I have to be more careful about certain things. Luckily I adore the in-laws and we have become extremely close.
that's the best thing
Do you have married kids west? I can never keep everyone's details straight.
we have 3 daughters and 1 son and I love all their mates especially our daughter-in-law
she's just like a daughter to me
That is the best. What a joy.
and we have 5 granddaughters
My mother in law and I aren't the best of friends so I am so happy to have children in law I love and I'm proud of.
All girls! Wow!
I know. Maybe there will be a boy someday
He will certainly be the little prince! But all girls is nice.
more than likely a great grandson
Little Prince is right lol
in the meantime we have our fluffy boy cat
Do you have any granddaughters old enough to be thinking of greats yet?
My girls' grandmother-in-lw is only 69 and she already has 2 great grandsons!!
yes, the oldest are 22 23 and 24
That's lovely.
no plans yet though we'll take it as it comes
ac & **w the boat & Ms Farrow - new one for me
maybe we'll be going to 3 weddings too
The best attitude. OK. Well, I think my apple-spice-coffee cakes are cook enough to freeze so I am really off to bed now.

bugsaw inspired me,so if you all refresh you will see my first car a 1973 chevey vega:)
OMG, crossy. One more thing in common - my first car was a 72 Vega
lol,standard steering,standard breaks,gets 40 mpg and uses 2 qyarts of oil a day
lol
i owned a vega as well. chose it over a 240 z
lol to,you should of got the 240z
was it that color, crossy?
both pos but the vega lasted a long time. first manual transmission
orange, I mean?
mine was jade green.i have actual photo somewhere but it is exactly same car
2 quarts happened to me about 2 years later. It was a golden color
I miss having a manual shift... my favorite
don't like automatics so much
i miss it sometimes as well
mine was green, metallic
wish i could rememnr the year, i think maybe 74
I had stick until 3 years ago - decided it was time to grow up a bit. had 3 stick Hondas, now have an automatic
ta6/21 pls?
I learned to drive with a manual, then went to take the driver's test with an automatic - almost made me fail, haha!
and so easy to work on,i could fix it with paper clips and duct tape\
ta 6
like the sausage meat sal****
when I picked up the 72, the guy said, can you drive stick? I said no - he wanted to know who was going to teach me, I told him that he was if he wanted to sellf the car. He did and I drove home
actually joey..growing up lost you 5-10% BETTER MILAGE..AUTO TRANNYS ARE HARDER ON THE GAS
ty
sorry caps
I know. and the sticks are cheaper.
depends cross. not in stop and go
but, i only drive 2 miles to work. that made it harder. Yup, TO, you are right
same applies for everything in stop and go..nasty city driving..blech!
one day i got stuck on a hill. some guy came over and oh hell that dog got something brb

howdy jes
Hi, jes
hey crossy. i forgot the name of the book i was supposed to be looking for, the goodwin one.
"the cold equasions"
may be a tough find.most often found in a sci-fi collection
was also made into a pretty good movie in the 70,s
tom goodwin
i think i found it once in a issac asmiv collection called 'space mail'
asimov*
that whole book btw is chock full of good short stories
when i am in the mood for sci-fi shorts i will gobble up 3 or 4 collections and then go on to some other genre
asimov,bradbury,heinelin,t.e.d klien,etc
lol,and crossy killed the chat with books:((
can't seem to find it as a stand-alone on any of my download sites :(
no, no, not dead! used to be some of my faves, but I don't read much sci fi any more.
then i got onto a kick with arthur hailey..he wrote some good stuff
no, crossy, i was just off looking for it :P
a stand alone may be tough jes...i found it in collections mostly
try space mail edited by issac asimov
may be in there
i have never found it outside of printed collections, but may look again soon
the movie off of it was rated quite highly.but do yourself a favor and try the story first
it has one of those classic asimov "zinger' endings that just floor you lol
actually i will do a fast sacn fo it now...
hmm. alrighty.
Any basketball fans around?
here you go jes....
http://www.spacewesterns.com/articles/ 105/
you can read it this way.i shall look for it in e-reader format later on
the ending will blow yer mind
actually i will try and create an e-book copy of it
brilliant! and a whole new site to mine for reading! thanks, crossy :)
np at all:)
np at all:)
last ma6?
what type of e-book reader do you have jes?
I think ma6 is a doughy ball found in soups...
got it, crossy; i just copy/paste to notebook and save as txt, it reads it loverlylike
huh, weird spelling of it, thx jell
but i've got the sony ereader :)
good stuff jes..i will convert it t-epib then
e-pub*
txt works fine, crossy, don't go out of your way for me! but for sure add it to your reader so you always have it :)
it converted beautifully to e-pub jes..would you like a copy?
this will be the first time in 15 years that i have been able to read it again:)
it is already in my reader;)
sure crossy :) i'm gonna be distracted here a while though, as i'll probably spend the evening mining that site for stories :)
ok np.i have a copy on my desk when you need it
and remember jes.use calibre software for all you ebook file conversion needs
it is freeware, but it is so handy i donated 20 dollars to the cause
i don't usually convert them, crossy, just read them as text files.
i'm lazy
e-pubs read best jes
took me 45 seconds to convert my notepad copy to e-pub
and epubs use less room on your sony reader..505 less
50%
i also have an epub copu of flowers for algernon if you wish it jes
both stories win the nebulae award and are a treasure
i've read flowers for algernon, crossy. it was very depressing... i'm liking the space western site a bunch, and the strange horizons site linked from there is good too :)
Hi
