oh I gathered just for really good "christians" and I am lucky Mum still with us - very active - still drives and cooks - she feeds the animals twice a day and also feeds our gardener when he is here

Started babbling early since I did not want to get a la4/4 start.I made a de 4/5 and I am halfway done, so here is a story of clues. Husband and I have be 4/5 together for a long time, since we were te4/4agers. We dated for many years before we got engaged. When hubby asked me to marry him, he gave me a huge st5/10 & he waited with ba 5/16 breath for my answer. I just ba6/27 my eyelashes and said, Of course I'll marry you!" it was rainy here today (actually had several tornadoes in the area) so we mad fishing rods out of chop sticks; used some paper clips and put them on construction paper fish, and had small magnets for bait; the kids had so much fun!

mrp, if you are having a colposcopy; ask if you really need to be put totally under with GA. I've had all of my foot surgeries with the med that Michael Jackson OD'ed on

mrp, I hope they are able to give you the twilight as you request - I think they are essentially always able to do that.
we used to call it "Milk of Amnesia" because it is a white IV fluid and you forget the surgery. It's a drug that reduces anxiety and tension, and promotes relaxation and sleep or loss of consciousness. Propofol provides loss of awareness for short diagnostic tests and surgical procedures, sleep at the beginning of surgery, and supplements other types of general anesthetics.

it is great stuff! Like I said, I had my 3 foot surgeries with it (the first 2 were extensive surgeries); but they didn't do my thyroidectomy with it.
they do put you under GA for a Loop of the cervix right?

I have heard of a case of heart bypass surgery using local anesthetic (NOT THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS!!!). I think if you are very clear about what you want they can accommodate you.

I don't know, mrp; but the colposcopy can be done with the Propofol unless you have a contraindication for it. The thyroid surgery was contraindicated for Propofol because of the nerves and location of the surgery. Twilight anesthesia may not have been enough; I might have swallowed or something and they could have damaged my voice box or breathing nerves

I had 5 mastoid ops back in the dark ages when I was 5 -- ether and no antibiotics in those days.
ether is nasty stuff. glad they have newer GA's now!!
Also 2 tonsillectomies, ages 3 and 9.
I would prefer to be totally groggy and have amnesia with the procedure, but don't know if they do that
ether was disgusting!
I'm overly sensitive to meds; ended up on a ventilator for 2 days after a D&C when the MDA didn't believe me when I said I didn't need much drugs. I'm hoping that they will consider doing my hip with the Propofol as it's much easier for me to tolerate
So recent sugeries with modern anesthetics were a piece of cake.
the main thing that scares me going forward, now, is intubation - had some damage due to the last one and my voice took 6 months to recover, not fun!!!

they used ether on me when I was 9 and had my tonsils out. I wouldn't wake up so the nun grabbed my tongue and pulled and I guess I left some permanent bite marks in her hand!

I do have an aversion to anything being over my face though
I've never heard of anyone grabbing a patients' tongue and pulling on it to wake someone up in all my years of nursing! So maybe that nun needed a good bite! :-)

Versed and Propofol are what they used to do open heart surgeries in the unit I used to work in. The patients were much easier to take care of than the older anesthesias

nope, not better. We are getting a Metro line out this way though -- phase 1 to open in 2013
the traffic is only marginally worse than in 1987, thanks to new commuter trains and bigger subway since then.

and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority only decided last month where to put the airport station, so now Phase 2 can move forward.

Well, they were debating between above ground and underground, and for above ground there was where to place the station.

And I never knew that they had food there!
There was an Au Bon Pain in the lobby level, and a something else across from it, but i don't recall what it was.
nurses have the bad idea that meetings must go from 7AM til 11PM; lunch was ususally provided
